My husband likes the Viking gas range that has the outer ring and the inner ring that comes with fire, and that's what we got. We came from a JennAir gas range and I didn't have problems at all with that. From the moment that we installed the Viking range, I've had an issue which they've come out to repair already. But when I go to turn it on sometimes it doesn't turn on. It would just tick, tick, tick until it catches the fire. So if I was in a rush, I would just do it with a lighter. But I spent $14,000 on a range and that was the last thing that I wanted to do.
When I spoke to somebody from the Viking repair department, they explained to me that that was happening because of a little spark thing and that would have to have been adjusted. When the repair person came, they told me that it was something else that needed to be adjusted or fixed or replaced. But the problem is that it's funky. So when they were here, it’d click on. And when they changed the piece, it did work for three weeks perfectly. And now it started doing it again and I hate having to turn it on with a lighter when the issue happens to me. But other than that, I like the look of the Viking range and I love the light on it at night when I turn it on. When we have guests over and we're having a party, the lights are dim and the lights on the knob look beautiful.

Our customers expect the very BEST and we work hard to ensure those expectations are met. Thank you for accepting nothing less; we appreciate YOU as a valued member of the Viking family.

Viking is good and has professional quality. I have their 30-inch range in my home and I like the quality of it. It's well-made. It has a gas stove and it's stainless steel. It has five burners and a large oven. One thing I don't like is it doesn't register the right temperature in the oven. If I set it at 350, it'll go to 450. I have another thermometer in the oven to check it and things bake too hot. I probably need to have them come out and check it. Another thing is when you look through the oven glass, the glass is too dark and it's hard to see in there. Viking should make the glass lighter. Without the light you can't see in there at all. With the light on, you still can't see clearly see what's in there. Other than that, the range is fine and the upkeep is simple.

I'm not crazy about the oven. It's kind of disturbing the way the gas turns on and off to maintain the heat and I'm still getting used to it. Also, a self cleaning feature would have been nice. Other than that, I like the stove a lot. It was nice cooking on gas after cooking on electric for so many years.

We did some research, and we felt like the Viking range would work best in our kitchen. All the reviews are so wonderful, and we wanted a more commercial style kitchen in our house. My husband ended up calling the local store and they worked it out. They were wonderful. As far as the range, I love the quality. I do a lot of cooking. It has cooked a whole bunch of food for church the other day. So, it's working great. The only thing is we have a 48-inch range and I wish it had a 24-inch griddle with four burners. I got the 12-inch griddle with the six burners. I really like the convection, how evenly it bakes and so much space. It's so lovely. It's different than regular everyday ranges. The amount of power it has and the versatility are wonderful.

We are thrilled to hear Viking is helping you to enjoy your kitchen, we appreciate our customers. Thank you.

I bought the Series 7 range. It has very good quality. I like the burners and the convection. But the grill and griddle can be worked on a little more. It holds a lot of grease and catches a lot of dust. When I turned on the three front burners, if you're standing in front of the range, the flame gets larger on the back side, and not all the way around. I've got to turn off and on my smaller oven on the 48-inch four times before it would hold and keep heating. So I talked to the residential guy, Chris, and he gave me one of the repairmen. But overall, the range is an awesome appliance for the professional chef at home.

There wasn't a lot of ranges in stock at the time. Even though the Viking range was more expensive than I was gonna spend, it kinda worked out with the free dishwasher. I don't cook a lot, but it's been fine for what little cooking I do. I always had electric. But then I was told that gas was better and I really like it. It's faster and it has more even heat. The oven is very easy to clean because I can take the grids off. I really like that. I like the little lights that are around the knobs. It's very pretty. I use it as a night light. I've used the range since September and I'm very happy with it.

At times it takes our breath away to hear how our customers remain so faithful to Viking. Thank you for placing your trust in the quality of our brand.

We bought a six burner, 36-inch, LP fueled range. It's got the great simmer control, and a convection oven. It's total badass. Also, the dealer was great. They're a local outfit. They were very accommodating. I'd absolutely recommend Viking. They are by no means the cheapest. But if you really like to cook the way I do and and bake, it's definitely worth the money.

I know I bought the freestanding range, but underneath the range itself, where the removable front panel is, is a bunch of wasted space. I'm not super thrilled with the quality of the griddle grill accessory either. It was very difficult and it took many months to even get the first one I ordered, then it came in completely chipped. So I ordered another one in January, and I've only had it for three weeks, and it also was chipped. I have repaired the chips myself with grill paint. I haven't used my Viking range to its full advantage yet, but it's really expensive, and there are comparable, if not better, dual fuel options out there.

I associated Viking with made-in-the-USA products and that was what led me to look at them for our new home. We like the upscale look and feel of the products. We got a range, dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator. Given the price point plus the rebates, we were comfortable with what we were paying for. We got our range sometime in December-ish and I like the overall aesthetics. It looks really cool and high quality. I'm familiar with Wolf and Sub-Zero products and the price point for those is higher. I was pleased with the range of quality of the Viking range that we got for the price. The quality seems to be on par.
We really like the range but we're not huge fans of the rest of the Viking products. In our prior house, we had a Thermador Dishwasher. Compared to that, our current dishwasher feels flimsy. You can tell the quality isn't quite there. The products are Viking branded but they're not necessarily made by Viking is kind of the vibe that I got. With the issues that I have raised, customer service was very helpful. Sometimes, replacement parts are not available. With our refrigerator, we had to have it replaced twice already. Their service techs came out three times and they're still waiting on a part.

Thank you for letting us know of your experience. We deeply apologize for ALL areas of concern. In careful review we're pleased however, to see issues have been addressed with the unit being serviced. I've enjoyed cooking on the Viking range. It's high heat, so things boil fast and sautéing is fast. The reaction time from on to off is immediate and it has a big work surface. I have an 8-burner so I'm limitless, it's wonderful. The oven is a little small inside but other than that, it's great.

It's truly humbling to hear from start to finish you are more than satisfied. Thank you for giving Viking the chance to continue providing excellent service and quality.

Size was important to us and the Viking range could fit in a residential home. Also, it has an automatic start for the stove -- the convection part of it -- and has a feature to turn on and off convection so I can control the heat much better. It heats up much faster and more consistently when cooking and it's easier to clean. It doesn't have a self-cleaning feature, though, which was a little bit of a disappointment. Viking is worth the quality and the experience. It changes cooking styles in a positive way.

The Viking range looks great. The electrical portions of it work and it's nice touches how each dial lights up. That's neat. Part of the reason we went with Viking versus the other ones was because, at the time, there was a rebate. That was a big incentive for us. So far, we're happy with it. There is one issue that we're having though. Our Viking hood is loud. When we start it off, it's quiet. But as we get higher in terms of the speed, it gets loud and it seemingly shakes.

Thank you for letting us know of your experience. We deeply apologize for ALL areas of concern. Sounds like a servicer needs to come out and look at the unit. Please give us a call at 888-845-4641 option 3 and a representative will be glad to assist with the issue you are having. Thank you.

We got the four burner unit with the oven and it works great for what we use it for. Viking's burner control is much better than the Fisher Paykel that we had. It has much better flame and temperature control. The cleanup instructions are straightforward. It's easy enough to take and do. The only recommendation that I have for them is they should have the top available in stainless steel or in black 'cause I would have got it as stainless steel. Black shows everything. Everything that's on it is extremely visible. I also had talked to a couple of different people because we had ordered and had to reorder those side components and those flatback splash guards for it.

Viking makes every effort to listen and hear what our customer's want, which is our foundation for newer and improved models. Thank you for being a part of what Viking is building.

We had to order the Viking range from an out-of-state company but it was a very simple process. However, within the first couple of months, I had to have it serviced twice. Comparing it to the older model, it doesn't seem to be built as good. The oven door hinges seem to be an issue. They've had a tech out to repair it and replace the hinges. But I noticed that it's starting to happen again. The hinges on our older model gave it a nice seal. I don't know if these are supposed to be a soft close but it's doesn't close a quarter inch. You have to push it with your hand. Otherwise, the interior light stays on. It's a little disappointing especially on the cost of the range and what you expect from a name like Viking.

The reps at the place where I bought the Viking range were very helpful. However, the process of delivery and set up was unsettling. We're in our 70s so we did not move out our old range to see what kind of connections we had. When we ordered the Viking range, they told us they needed to know if it was three-wire or four. From the manual you could tell it was four. But what we originally had was a hardwired dual fuel range from Dacor. We had to then get an electrician to come out and change that so that we had an outlet for the guys to have the Viking range plug in.
They had a two setup thing. A truck would come with the new range, and the person to install the range would show up. Then they were gonna take our old range with them. Luckily, that guy that came to install my range was very knowledgeable, and he was able to answer my question about the countertop and the whole bit. The other problem was the gas line. It had to get moved which we also didn't know about. I luckily asked when they came and delivered and realized they couldn't install it. I asked them to check out my countertops because my Dacor was a slide in that went over the countertop, and the Viking doesn't. That meant I needed to get my Cambria countertop people back there to finish a cut so the Viking range could slide in all the way. The range was out in our garage for quite some time. When they finally got it installed, I didn't get all my racks. I got two left side racks and not the right side. I had to wait for that. That was unnerving.
I like that the top cleans well compared to my old range. I like the surface underneath the racks. It's a very easy to clean surface. However, I was told that Viking had tutorials on their website so I could take lessons on how to use it. Those don't exist anymore. I still don't understand when and why I want to use the convection, and why do I want to use a high or medium or low broil. It would have been nice to have those tutorials 'cause that was one of the things that sold me on buying the Viking.

When I received my refrigerator and it got installed, there was a mark down by the door on the front side, which I took pictures and sent Viking. I sent them to them. They sent out a tech, had that changed over. I was disappointed about my refrigerator because why would they ship something out like that? Whoever wrapped it had to have seen that. But they were very good about getting it taken care of. It looks so much better.
When I initially went to season my griddle, it was extremely difficult. I did what the instructions require that you do in order to season it prior to using it. I talked to a couple of people. They asked me to send pictures. I did. I spoke with one of their techs that came out that changed my door on the phone about it. I told him someone was coming, and he said, “Just get him to take pictures of it.” He did that, and he submitted the pictures.
I never heard from anyone, and I've been doing follow-up calls, so I just decided, “Maybe I just need to purchase another one myself to be done with it, to get it the way that it should be working.” Once I did that, the lady was very nice on the phone with me. I told her my situation and she told me that it was under warranty and she could replace it under warranty. So, they're supposed to be mail me one out, and I'm supposed to receive it through delivery. Other than that, I love Viking to invest the amount of money in the appliances that I have.

The refrigerator always worked. But the dishwasher did not. They couldn't even turn it on when we got it. And the stove was not immediately available. That came later. And when that came, the left side burner works, but the right side did not work. It's an electric stove. The microwave was installed and the installers left it. It was mounted above the stove. When I tried to use it the first time, it went on fire. Smoke came out of the unit. All I had put in there was to test it, because I wouldn't use it. I put a glass of water in there and it smoked up. So, Viking replaced the microwave.
I already waited 10 months for that stove. And they told me it would take another 10 months to get a new stove. So, Viking put an order in for it. But in the meantime, I put a service call into Viking, and they came and fixed it. It took two visits. They came and determined that it was some type of electrical component. Now the stove, the new microwave, and the new dishwasher all work. Viking can try and get things done sooner. But it's probably a supply chain thing.

All the appliances we have are Viking. The products look great. People come over and say, "Wow, Viking." It's like Bentley or Mercedes. We spent more than $25,000 on these equipment over the time period. I own a Viking side-by-side, 48-inch refrigerator, a Viking dishwasher, a Viking microwave. However, I've had nothing but problems with my oven. I bought it in 2016 for $12,000. The double oven has a temperature issue. It shuts the machine off after 10 minutes, 20 minutes. You can never cook a turkey. You can't cook anything longer than an hour in it. Since 2016, I spent more than $2,000 and went thru five different vendors that were given to us by Abt, by Best Buy, and by Viking. Everybody else could not fix it and had a different opinion on what needs to be done. I went as far as to even upgrade the gas line. We even had them to come out and do a pressure test.
I called up Viking and told them to come pick it up. It got low hours on it. I haven't even used the griddle on top of it. Then I went online realized there's a recall from Viking for a temperature thermostat on the Viking 48 ranges. I called up Viking and said, "You have a recall on 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022. But you didn't do a recall on 2016. Why?" Last year, finally, this guy came out from Viking and I spent another $500. He fixed it. The oven seems to be working right now for the most part. I still have to put other thermostat things in there to make sure that it stays at 350 or whatever the temperature needs to be at.
The microwave is awesome. But the dishwasher doesn't clean properly. It doesn't seem to go through the cycles that well. They wanted you to pitch it like a good quarter inch from the front to the back. If you lose that pitch at all, the machine doesn't wash your dishes. It just leaves all the water in the bottom of the thing. It's a very finicky machine. The stainless steel refrigerator is the best thing that's ever happened, except for the ice maker keeps breaking. You use the door to get the ice out but it won't come out. It's always a problem. We replaced the ice maker twice already, but still it doesn't work properly.

Our aim is to be here to iron out any/all wrinkles, our customer support team will be here for you. Thank You for your smooth transition into Viking.

We bought a Viking range for our house in Georgia that a local distributor from Nashville had in stock in the store. We needed a propane which isn't one that's typically needed in Nashville so, we had it transported to Georgia from Nashville. The experience has been great and the only issue is the flames are not quite even. Nobody wants to service it yet. It’s new and they didn't install it. We're hoping sometime this spring, somebody will want to service the range. But otherwise, it's beautiful and awesome. The ovens are consistent. They get hot fast. It’s the same with the burners. It doesn't take long to boil water or cook anything. It's definitely a professional grade, controlled type of flame, which is good. It's just a little unbalanced on a couple of them, but those can get tweaked once we get somebody out here.
When you're spending over $10,000, you gotta be a little more careful. Viking ranges are durable and heavy-duty. It doesn't feel plasticky and the features are nice. The best feature is the bottom part, inside where the burners are. It's all one flat surface so you can clean it all versus having to deal with all those grates on the bottom side. You can wipe it out easily from spills or grease

This brings us great joy knowing the quality of our products is in such high regard. Thank you for your comments.

I have three Viking products. The hood’s awesome, and the range is really nice. They had to adjust one burner that had something going on with the igniter, but it wasn't a big deal. It's fine now. I love my range. On the other hand, I'm not 100% happy with my microwave and it could definitely use some improvements. It's got some issues right now where Viking has been out once to fix it. They adjusted the door and my microwave comes on. However, every time I use it, I have to make sure I push the top corner of the door, or else it doesn't cook.
I understand stuff happens, but I have other people at the house that were like, “Isn't that brand new? That's Viking. What's going on with that thing?” Unfortunately, I have to schedule Viking to get out there again, and it's hard to get them to come back out. Another thing is, they should think about having the buttons to light up. My unit is an under counter microwave, so it's waist high. I have to lean down and there are no lights on it. Unless you have bright lights in the kitchen, you can't even see it. The keypad is not illuminated.

I don't have anything bad to say about the Viking range, but I'm not happy with the place that we bought it from and what we had to go through. We bought them from Pacific sales. We called them for the service when there was something wrong with our stove. They sent us the wrong techs at first and they sent us another series of techs and another series of techs, then they sent the same one again. Finally, I got ahold of the manager at Pacific Sales who has the worst customer service by all means. There's a company called Executive Appliance, and they're the only ones that are supposed to be working on Viking ranges and Sub-Zeros and the higher-end brands. So, then they sent one of their people out. The guy right away said, “This stove needed to be replaced from day one. I don't know why they never did that for you.”
When I talked to the guy from Pacific Sales about that, his first response was, “Oh, well, the stove is more expensive now.” I was sitting there and I was like, “Why does it matter how much the stove is now? That's totally irrelevant because I've purchased every warranty possible for this stove.” Also, I had told them before that this stove needs to be replaced because it's completely damaged. The frame is damaged, and the door doesn't close on the oven.
I don't have anything bad to say about Viking, I just think that Viking should have their own store in the Southern California area or California in general. I love Viking because my mom had a Viking stove, then when I got my first house, I bought a 30-inch Viking stove. Now, I got my new house and I upgraded to a 48-inch Viking stove. I constantly upgrade and I spent a lot of money on my stove. I'm just disappointed with the people that are selling their brand.
We cook a lot. So, the Viking was the kind of range that we wanted. I wanted a bigger range that has more burners on top of it, so that way, we have more room. A lot of our cooking involves starting the stock. So, I can start a stock pot going on one corner of the stove, and I could be frying onions on another part. The amount of space that's on the top of the actual stove is really good.

Viking has given us more trouble than our lower grade appliances. We've not only had issues with the range, but we've had issues with the dishwasher as well. I think the dishwasher was an installation problem. I can't use it. It's leaking. With the range, when they first came to install it, that first inept installer refused to install it because he said I’ve got all the wiring on the back and he didn't understand it. The appliance store that we bought it from had to send another installer out. When they went to install the range, it would not fit into the countertop that was cut though I had given specs. But that installer was great. He made it work. He had to cut out some of the granite.
However, when we went to go to turn it on and off, the light wouldn't come on. We thought it was a light bulb issue. They ordered a new light bulb. As we checked out the range more and started using it, the fan was loud. When he came back to replace the light bulb, we told him about the fan. Also, the light bulb still didn't work. He had to order a new fixture to put the light bulb in. He listened to the fan and agreed it was too loud. They ordered a new fan. We waited a while again. He came in and installed the fan and the fixture. The light works now. The fan is quieter, but it still makes a humming noise which I've never had happen before with any range that I've ever owned.
I decided to try the self-cleaning system on the oven. When I ran it, it went for a long time. It was almost three hours. But I looked it up and it said that it goes for three to three and a half hours so I just let it run. When I walked back in there, it was off. I opened it up and heard this noise. The entire glass inside of the door had shattered. I contacted Viking and supposedly, they're coming out May 3rd. But I've been told two different things - replace the glass or replace the door. The last person I talked to said that they decided it was better to replace the entire door. I told them that I feel like I have a lemon. It’s had too many issues within a four-month span. I told them they need to replace the range. They're going to try to do the door first and I'm going to go along with that and see what happens.

Viking, unlike some brands, had the full line of everything we wanted from dishwasher, to stove, to refrigerator. We could go one brand across the entire kitchen. They also always seem to score very high when people rate them. My wife is a huge baker so we ended up buying two Viking stoves side by side because she wanted two full sized, 30-inch stoves to be able to bake in. We had to get them converted from natural gas to propane. My builder had somebody come in and do it originally, but they did the ovens improperly so we weren't able to use the ovens for a little while. We contacted Viking and they sent somebody right out. That person knew exactly what was wrong and fixed it perfectly for us. My wife loves how the ovens bake and the consistency in temperature.

Using the range is great. It's simple and it does the job. My favorite feature is the ability to get precise heat control. The only issue is one of my knobs for the range is hard to turn. When I use that one, I've got to finesse it and it’s choppy when I turn it. But the rest of them turn smooth-like-butter smooth. I reached out to the guys who installed it to see if they noticed when they installed it and they said that they didn't. It's an annoyance when you’re spending the money for a Viking but I just let it go.

I have the Viking range with the higher power burner in the front right versus the other three. And I like that feature. But I need to schedule warranty work. When the oven is preheating, it always stays right under where that preheating temp would turn the preheating light off. Other than that, everything’s great. Everything is quality built. The stainless steel is good as well as the burners. That's what you expect from a higher price range essentially.

Our Viking range was purchased by the builder of our house. They got it through a dealer, Aitoro in Connecticut. The gas range has been great. We have an electric oven as well and a side oven. That one cooks too hot and a little too quickly. It's probably a common problem with electric ovens. They don't cook as evenly as gas. On the whole, the range is consistent and it works as we wanted it to. The bar is pretty low. We haven't had issues with Viking ranges but we've had issues with every other appliance that Viking has made.

I had a stove delivered and it was damaged. Then, the second stove, which I have in my possession now, has to be replaced because the light on the top of the stove never goes off. It indicates that there's a hot surface on one of the burners. I'm waiting for a third stove coming my way sometime at the end of April, beginning of May.
This all started in August of 2020. We waited about 15 months for the first stove and then we waited four or five months for the second stove. I love the stove. It works well and it cooks fantastic. But I'm not sure the quality is there yet. I'm not satisfied yet. Hopefully, the third one will be a charm but for the amount of money that we spent on the stove, the quality should have been there from the onset.

We've had serious service issues with all our appliances. We had an issue with the range knobs that were sticking and not working properly. We have a griddle that they've been out now four times to try to fix, and it's still not fixed. It's been out for three months. Middleby Residential has been a challenge. They're the second party that does the servicing for Viking. Then they send out to a third party, which is a local technical company called Island Appliance. Island Appliance has been responsive. They pick up the phone. But with Middleby, not so much. The communication, follow-up and scheduling have not been good. But the range is a professional product, which is why we bought it. It works great. If I had to go back and do it again, I might have bought the electric version of the oven so that we could have a timer on the oven because it's all gas.

We purchased a new Dual Range by Viking, it took 3 months to arrive, within the first few days we realized that the door didn't work, the oven was 50 degrees off, the burners start flickering on Med Low, and go out on Low. I have been cooking on gas for forty years and have never had this problem. The Range door hinges must be replaced, the problem is that the hinges are substandard, which is the problem with the door, thus the temperature loss. We know that the hinges on our very expensive range is poor because our independent installer told us they are, therefore this will happen again, at any time. The Range also has no built in temperature control, in other words, you don't know what the internal temperature is on this 7 thousand dollar range!? We asked the Appliance Store to exchange it, they refused, saying Viking refuses to exchange any range, any appliance.
I called Viking this morning, expecting to be treated courteously, instead I was met with an antagonist, rude Customer Support person, Cindy, who informed me that Viking refuses to exchange any appliance and to "fight" the Appliance Store! Now, I am committed to exposing Viking for the poor quality, poor corporation that they have proven themselves to be. I explained to this person that in Florida we have The Lemon Law, and this person told me it was not a lemon but a "mistake" that was made? This is incredible to me that a Corporation would be so unhelpful, so negative to a customer, and who basically told me, "If you aren't happy, too bad, that's between you and Mays Appliance Store, and no we won't exchange it, because we can fix it with substandard material that we used in the first place." My honest God fearing advice is Stay Away from Mays Appliance Store and Do Not Buy a Viking product! Thank you.

This particular Viking range that I got has two ovens and six burners and a griddle. So, it has everything that I wanted. It looks very nice and I really like the two separate ovens and the different burner outputs. I love having the one that has the high BTU output for frying chicken and then the simmer features are nice on all the burners. I love the way it cooks. I have contacted Viking a couple of times concerning the infrared broiler. When I first got the stove, the infrared broiler wasn't working. It comes on if I turned the oven on first and it was hot inside. The broiler would come on, but if you tried to turn it on from cold start, it would not work. They came and did a couple of adjustments and thought that might do it but it didn't. The guy left, and I tried it later and it was doing the same thing. So, I called them back and then they came. They replaced the broiler element.
I love the range and I love to cook on it. I was cooking on a four-burner range before and now I can cook meals in a fraction of the time. The other thing I really like is when you use the ovens, there's very little heat that you feel when you're standing in front of it. So, you can have the oven on and still be cooking on the burners and you don't get overheated. So, I like the insulation of the doors. It's really great. It retains the heat really good inside. It probably uses less fuel because of that.

I've had Viking before. I have it in a different house. This is the second time I've had a Viking range. The quality of the range this time around is not as good as it was 15 years ago. We had problems with the door and the fan. We also have issues with the actual simmer. When you try to just put it on simmer, it's not very easy to get it to simmer. It's still pretty strong. I have induction at the other house and it's fantastic. This is gas, and I like it but to put it on simmer is much more difficult.
The delivery took a long time. It took eight months. It wasn't a surprise. We had discussed it. I didn't think it would be that long. Then, when it got here, it was a production. When it didn't work properly, I had to wait over a month to get the door fixed. We had to prop it open with a chair. That was not fun. I bought all Viking because I know the quality is excellent and I'm delighted with the dishwasher and the refrigerator, but the range has been a disappointment. They need to improve on the quality of the range. They were understanding, but it wasn't easy to get somebody out to fix it. It took quite a while. I love Viking. They think things through super well. The range has a nice design, very effective to use and doesn't have a lot of glitz and glamour beyond the things that you want. So, it's a well-engineered product. I've had Viking products for many years. I'm 67 years old so I know it's the best of the best. But the customer service was not that good in that they could never tell me any tentative dates on shipment. They would just say, "When it ships, it ships." So it makes it a little hard to try to schedule to get the old range out and do all of the other stuff when you're not sure.
I bought the range through an online retailer and they had arranged a delivery and to put it in place, so that all went fine. But the ovens were dead on arrival. Viking was quick about sending a repairman and then, they had to order off parts and boards, and we were without it. So we installed the new one but it was not working. It didn't work for the first four weeks. They put in the new boards. It worked for about two months, and then the ovens broke again. The technician who was the same technician that did it the first time, said that we should just order all the electronics new. So we put in everything new. But the ordering for that took about six weeks. So we've only been using it, effectively, for a little less than two months.
\he defects are all related to global supply chain issues, where they probably are not able to get the quality that they had before and able to get product. So they're having to, in some cases, discount the quality just to be able to get parts. But I still love Viking. We have dishwashers and the exhaust vent range. From an engineering standpoint, it's great.

This brings us great joy knowing the quality of our products is in such high regard. Thank you for your comments.

I did all my research on the Viking website so I knew exactly what I was gonna purchase when we bought the range. It was very simple and straightforward. I have the big salamander one and I love the broiler on my Viking range. I had to have the top part serviced because it was dented but I was immediately directed towards an authorized service provider and that experience was very nice and well. The experience with Viking has been very positive and the only negative is that sometimes, the temperature drops dramatically. The range has a feature where it throttles down and then kicks back on but sometimes, it throttles way down that it almost turns itself off. It’s very intermittent though. I have an air fryer, so I use that a lot too and I don't use the oven part as much. But maybe there is a problem.

I liked the appearance and size of the Viking appliances. They also had a discount and a buy one get one free deal. The distributor, Martin, has been great to deal with. But my experience with Viking was awful. The appliances were not of good quality for the price that we paid. We had to wait a long time to receive the actual range itself and then it had to have been worked on three times. Viking let these appliances leave their facility without checking to make sure that they are working. The range has two ovens. The one oven has never worked. No one checked to make sure that the ovens were working. We've had repair people come out here. It's a 750-pound range and every time someone comes out here, our floor is getting scratched when the range is moved.
Our refrigerator had a lot of hokey parts on there too. The ice machine doesn't work properly and that had to be looked at several times. I would never buy a Viking again. I could've gone to Lowe’s and got better appliances for like a tenth of the cost. On the whole, the quality is just not there. Even though the repairs are being taken care of over four months, every time they send the incorrect part, it's another couple of weeks for me to have to wait. It was a huge inconvenience having to wait the length of time and also to have these appliances not operate or perform in the manner that they should. It’s a disappointment.

I LOVE the look of my new Viking 48" dual-fuel range. And the massive burners/grates (6 instead of typical 8 for a 48" width). Before you buy, check the inside dimensions of the large oven. A mere 8" of usable vertical space after subtracting 4" from bottom of oven to top of lowest rack. No Thanksgiving turkey, that's for sure. There is a useless storage drawer under the oven that subtracts usable height vs. a "regular" (non-Tuscany line) range from Viking, Wolf, etc. Certainly not like my Wolf double ovens in my old house. In addition, after it was installed, I discovered several fabrication quality control issues (small oven door and oven control knob both loose, big oven slow to heat, cracked grate, non-flat grate), which I hope can be fixed without much ado. We shall see.

We couldn't our range on Thanksgiving because it would not work on the smaller range of the stove. The first two technicians who diagnosed it said that it was the gas line that was too small. But it was actually too big. It didn't make sense to downsize the gas line from three-quarters to a half-inch. But they still replaced the gas line to a half-inch and we were still having issues with it.
They had another technician come and right off the bat, he said, "I know what's wrong with it. The regulator on this range wasn't adjusted correctly in the manufacturing." So, he made a couple of adjustments back on the regulator, and voila, it started working. I have spent almost $25,000 on appliances and for me to spend all this money and have issues, did we not pick the right manufacturing? It was just problem after problem. Also, I would call in and say, "I just need to get this thing resolved." But it would just lag in there. I was getting frustrated too with customer service on scheduling service techs.

We had a pretty poor experience in getting our range set up. We were disappointed to find out that it was not properly fixed after a recall. We ended up getting it installed and then trying to turn on the oven but it was not working. The element that releases the gas to heat it up was not properly installed and presented a small fire hazard. We were lucky and fortunate that nothing exploded or gave us trouble in the house. The company that installed it did not catch this when they tested the oven. We had two techs out from Viking authorized to fix this. The first tech did not catch the issue. The shipper and the company that we bought it from should have had that taken care of.
Viking communicated that they had already fixed the component that was related to the recall and that issue was unrelated and in a different system. But we can't help that maybe somebody shifted some things around and had those in precarious positions. Also, we got the runaround from the VP of consumer services of Viking. We were brushed off. I should have written a couple of follow up notes with some pictures to emphasize that when we're buying a $7,000 piece of equipment and when we have high expectations from word-of-mouth, we hope that it will be a great experience and not present a risk.
Other than that, the oven has very precise heat. We also admire the quality of it. The food tastes better somehow. With foods that we did before and after getting the range, we can really tell that there's a great quality improvement. Also, we really appreciate that we can use all six burners at once and cook a big hearty meal simultaneously. Make sure your Viking range is installed properly and work with a great installer.

My wife always wanted a Viking oven. We went with the electric version and that was the best choice out of the ones that we looked at. The range heats up very quickly. When we bake anything in the oven, it seems to do a better job than what we had before as far as cooking evenly. With the range top, we haven't had a very good experience with other models, leading up to this. I would have thought that the top would have been made of the exact material. But for whatever reason, the Viking top seems to be more resistant to stains and scratches than what we had in the past.
There was a problem with the paint inside the oven and it started bubbling and coming off. My wife wasn't using any cleaners and was just wiping it out with regular Dawn soap and letting the self-cleaning do its job. She called Viking and they had somebody from Haggis Appliance Repair come out and look at it. The tech goes, "I don't know why the paint's coming off. But we'll see what Viking wants to do."
Viking was gracious enough to send us another one and the same thing happened. Not only did that happen, but it got stuff in between the glass doors and in the front window when you are looking in. There were all kinds of drip lines going on in there. We're now on our third one. So far, we've had this for about six months or so and it seems to be fine. I really like Viking. We had some difficulties with the first one that we ordered. It was attempted to be repaired. Right out of the box, it was defective. They sent some people over who didn't know what they were doing. They took apart the entire range, every single screw, and then tried to slap it back together. They didn't fix it and they left some parts out. Screws were out and a piece of the back was off. So, I was livid because we had a kitchen remodel, and it was not usable. Worse yet, they disconnected the gas and then just left me with a miserable piece of junk. So, it was very upsetting. I put major calls in and the people I spoke to were helpful, although it took a long time to get the approval for a brand new item.
There were pictures back and forth and a lot of phone calls, a lot of tears and angry words from me and my husband. Nevertheless, Viking came through, and they ordered us a new one. However, there was another glitch. They shipped after weeks of waiting. We got it at the height of a lot of shortages. So, they had to remake the item. It was a 30-inch five-burner gas range. Somehow, they plugged the wrong number in and they ordered a 48-inch, which under all the circumstances, if my kitchen hasn't been done with a whole set up for the 30-inch, I would have died to have a 48-inch because that was what my hope was from years ago. I always wanted a 48-inch double oven cavity, but it just wasn't gonna fit here. Luckily, the people they delivered it to recognized that it was a 48-inch and they were concerned about getting it through the front door.
I said, “A 48-inch?” So, back to the drawing board. It didn't take as long. It wasn't the six weeks waiting for the original one. Luckily, the next one that came was correct. I was so skeptical but I cleaned the whole thing. I held my breath, turned it up to 450 for an hour, and it did work. The people that installed it knew what they were doing and so far, so good. The range is a great product. I'm excited. I'm scared to death that there's gonna be a day where we're not gonna be able to get gas ranges. I am thrilled with the product and I hope I get many years. I hope my husband gets a lot of good meals out of it too. If I ever have the opportunity to get a larger one, I will look into that 48-inch because that looks like the mothership there, but I'm happy because what I got fits perfectly in my kitchen and it's working really well now.

I hated the Viking range initially because the temp wasn't holding consistent. I called Viking and they explained the steps I needed to do. I wasn't using it correctly and I hadn't broken it in enough. When you first get it from the factory, the fiberglass liner around the oven is just sitting around the oven box and it needs to kind of melt in as it heats up in order to insulate better. But now, I'm really loving it. Although, there are some things that I'm a little bit disappointed in. The finish isn't quite what it could be for as much as I spent. When you open the doors, the edges are kind of sharp. I haven't cleaned it yet but I know I'll have to be careful. Also, the finish came off the grates. I thought they were a solid cast iron, but they're just coated. There is a warranty for it, though. I called and they sent me some new ones.

It's truly humbling to hear from start to finish you are more than satisfied. Thank you for giving Viking the chance to continue providing excellent service and quality.

We've been looking at a Viking range for more than 10 years. We've always wanted a big range when we built our retirement house. So that time has come. However, we're incredibly disappointed with the quality of Viking. It is not what it used to be. Our range came and was assembled. Within eight weeks, we found there was a major gas leak. It also took nine months to get the range. We had it for two months functional. Then it was down for almost four months because they were waiting on parts. They had to take the entire range apart and replace all of the moving pieces. Everything that touched gas had to be removed and replaced because it was leaking and they couldn't figure out where. The safety valve was leaking. We went through an entire tank of gas because of the leak and that's 500 gallons of Propane.
It cost us $450 in gas. We had to cook outside on our grill for four months. It was all done through the warranty. The company that was doing the repairs was capable. They just weren't able to get any parts. Some of the parts that arrived came bent and spindled and had to be reordered again. Now that the range works, we've talked about selling it and buying a ZLINE because we have one at our ranch and it's more reliable.
We're also really disappointed with the burners. They're too big for a small pot. We had to have the pot halfway off the burner in order to cook, which then means you burn your hand on the other side of the pot. If this has been pointed out by a capable salesperson, I would have bought the professional line that was $7,000 more. I filed information online with Viking and we registered it with Viking. No one from Viking has reached out, which is just terrible customer service.

I've been a very happy customer of Viking and I am pretty loyal to the brand. My refrigerator still works and my old Viking stove still works perfectly. But I had a little bit of a thing with the strike. Sometimes, I would have to use a match, but I didn’t care. I also have to change the panel inside, but for 20 years, that's really not bad. My refrigerator has been going strong through renovations. It’s been moved here and there and I have to buy a couple of drawers because my nephew didn't know his own strength and broke a drawer.
I recently went with a six-burner Viking range and I like the little lights for the convection. So even at night, there is the teeniest little light that's always on. Also, the convection oven is good for roast beef and you get an even temperature everywhere. But there's a little piece behind the range that's like a clip, and I have to put a backsplash there in the back. My Viking before that had it and I don't know where to begin getting it.

It is refreshing to hear you are satisfied with your Viking unit, thank you for expressing such loyalty.

Our Viking range is top-notch. There was a little issue with the install though. They did a pre-site inspection to make sure everything would work. When they came up, they relocated it to somewhere else because it didn't fit flush against the wall. That was something they should have caught before they did the install and try to give us a heads-up.

I ordered a gas cooktop electric oven in 2020. I received it in August. The oven never worked and I'm still sitting with my Viking range that doesn't work. Viking kept sending service people out to try to fix it, and they replaced the entire computer board in the oven, but it still didn't work. They finally agreed to replace it. But I have to wait 16 weeks for that. I felt they got paid every time so they would keep coming back. They kept ordering more parts. It would have been better if they had just shipped me one that worked in the first place.

Viking had the availability of all of the appliances that we needed and wanted. We were able to get a consumer-like type product, not commercial type. So far, everything has been great. It's our first gas range so it's taken a learning curve, but we're very pleased with the product that we got. It works very well. I like the immediate heat. It's very reliable. You never have to sit there, wait and wonder if it's gonna come on or not. I also like that all of the parts easily come apart. You can clean around it, put it right back together and keep going.
One thing I wish we had gotten more was education on the products themselves. I've had to google a lot of things, unfortunately. I don't know if that should have been who installed the products or our builder. I had somebody come out and service the range to make sure that everything was good with it because we never got any education on it. When the guy came out to the service it, he went over everything with me about how to properly disassemble and reassemble it, and making sure that the flames are coming out of the eyes like it should.

We have problems with our range. The oven doesn't work. We had a Viking technician come out but he said it's out of warranty. It's crazy expensive to fix it through a Viking technician. Also, it's not a great product. The metal is showing signs of rust, which it shouldn't, and the cast iron griddle is not that easy to clean. Then, we had problems with two of the burners not lighting properly, not maintaining a simmer at the lowest temperature. We've got lots of clicking. This range is really problematic and I would never buy one again.

The burners are good for high cooking. But I'm disappointed in the simmer. If I turn the range down low, the flame just goes out and it pumps raw natural gas into the house. And if I'm not in the kitchen, it fills the whole house with gas. It’s dangerous. I'm gonna have to have techs come out, which is unfortunate because that's why I bought this thing. I didn't wanna have to mess with it. Overall, I like the build quality and its lack of electronics.

My family had a Viking range and stove top for many years and growing up, and it's still the same one in their house, so we decided to go for it. We had ordered one with a colored front panel and it had come in stainless. We were using that one for a long time until our panel finally came in. But the original one was working fantastically, with no issues with the quality of use. But when our new range came in, everything was shifted and not level.
With the range, we've had issues with it maintaining heat. Our burners will not stay lit and the knobs are really hard to turn. It had some scratches and dents. Something happened to it during transportation to us. We are currently waiting on that to be replaced. It's in process. We went through a licensed dealer locally that does custom kitchens and I questioned that process. They seem to state that it was gonna be months and months. But anytime we've reached out to support staff to Viking directly ourselves, we've had no issues with response times, it's been immediate and expedited.

I’m very pleased with the place where my Viking came from. I got what I expected. I love the Viking and all its features. The oven performs really well. With the build of the product, you can see that you didn't buy glamour. Everything about the oven is built far superior. The construction of the interior is far more insulated and retains its heat better. You get a better cooking experience. Other stoves have high-end circuitry with clocks and timers. They have all the bells and whistles such as delayed cooking. Viking has none of that. It's a simple and straightforward product. I'm very pleased.
My brother in Boston has Wolf. His appliances are just under two years old, and he's already had an issue with his oven. He’s trying to convince me to get Wolf products but I told him I was gonna go with Viking. I compared Wolf against Viking and Viking against Thermador. Later on, my brother said maybe he should have gone with Viking as well. When my dishwasher goes, I'm getting the Viking dishwasher.

We purchased this Viking range 4 1/2 years ago. The smaller oven has never worked properly and it is difficult and at times impossible to attain the desired temperature. When the range was on warranty two service calls were requested and both times the repair techs from Air-Flo, (the Viking service company in our area) adjusted a few things and said it was fine. Problems continued in getting the correct temperatures. Another service requested and now the warranty has expired and the tech identified another problem with wiring and "fixed" it and charged us $390.00.
Several months go by and on Christmas Day we needed the oven to reach 500 degrees to roast a beef tenderloin. The oven would not heat up past 325 degrees. We moved all the items in the large oven and used it to cook the tenderloin. Placed another service call and the tech suggested replacing certain parts at a cost of $450 to us for the labor and Viking would supply the parts. We paid $15,000.00 for a range that only works sometimes and VIKING has not stepped up to correct this defective appliance. Definitely do not recommend this product.

But then they sent out a technician who looked into it and then it took them about another three weeks to get the part and to come back out. But otherwise, the range has been great. The switch out from the cast iron grill to the chrome griddle was something that I was looking forward to. Other than that, the quality of the range is top-notch. The nature of the beast is that the cast iron grills are heavy and that's something I knew I was going to have to live with. But underneath, everything is pretty easy to clean.

In 2017, we had our house burned down in a wildfire here in Santa Rosa. My boss' house at the time did not burn down, but he had a lot of smoke damage and he decided he was just going to do everything fresh and new even though there was nothing wrong with his appliances. So, he donated all of his Viking appliances to us in our rebuild. They're a little bit older, but they look fantastic and they work great. We have a small granny unit on our property, and so we were finishing rebuilding that and we decided that we would stay with the Viking appliances.
I haven't used the new range because it's in the granny unit and we don't live in it but it looks beautiful. I think it's gonna be fantastic. I like that it's gas. The one I have in my main house works pretty good. Some of the burners are hard to start, but I think it might be because of its age and I need a little tune-up. The quality of the range is great. I really like it. It's pretty darn expensive, but they had given us an extra dishwasher. The store that I bought from had the special where you buy one appliance, you get one free. So, I bought the range and I got the over-the-range microwave for free.

We are certain your days will turn into many years of experiencing the immeasurable quality and service Viking offers through our products. Thank you for being part of the family.

The overall quality of the range is great. But I had an issue with my convection switch. I was about a week out of my warranty, and Viking was wonderful in saying that they would provide me the part at no charge. So I'm absolutely thrilled with the service they gave me there. My only complaint would be that the warranty should be longer. Considering the cost of the product, a two-year warranty is not long enough. But again, when I didn't have an issue, they were exceptional to deal with.
The six burners is a game changer. Cooking a large meal for a holiday and be able to do so much more is tremendous. I cook more now that I have the Viking range because I enjoy to cook now. When it comes with the cleanup, I just use a standard stainless steel cleaner on both the cook surfaces underneath the burners and on the outside, and my range looks good as new.

My house was full of smoke, and I had to wait months to get that stove replaced. Now it's okay, but it came in with scratches on the ceramic part. I've been waiting for months in order to get that replaced too. The technicians are very nice. It was a company, Oceanic, and the owner came when they brought the new stove. They just made a mistake. I liked Viking's reputation. Originally, we were going to go with a Dacor, and we fell in love with this one. “This is it. This is going to be the one for us.” Then we heard it had terrible service problems and that the company had changed over the years, and it wasn't a good company. We're like, “Oh, no, no, we need to do something else.” Everybody knows Viking. We were at Pacific Sales and the guy was like, “Here's the one you need.” We were like, “Oh, that one looks really good. Okay.” We ordered it.
Our range is great. One burner in the back is having a little trouble lighting. It's like the little spark doesn't spark to light it. We could get it fixed, but we're too busy to deal with that when you can just do it with a lighter. We've just used the oven a lot for the first time this weekend. We've been burned before with ovens that don't really get up to the temperature that you think they are when they preheat. So, we have a thermometer in there and it was bang-on. It was exactly where it said it had preheated to. So, for us, that’s a huge deal.
I've done one cleaning. I just sprayed some of our range cleaner stuff in there and wiped it right out. It's a little strange on the top. The burner cover started out looking kind of gold-colored, and now they're all sort of stained and they look like they've been used. My husband tried to clean them and they just kind of stayed that way. Overall, Viking is really expensive, but it's really good. You get what you pay for.

I'm not happy with Viking Ranges. First of all, the burners get dirty right away and they are very hard to clean. They turn black. The gold burner that comes with the Series 7 that I purchased is impossible to clean. I follow the instructions and I try to clean them and only about 60% of the black stuff came off. Then, the minute you use them again, they turn black again. Black spots then just appear out of nowhere. No oil fell on the burner. They just start to turn black.
The first issue that I reached out to them when my kitchen was finished and they delivered the range was because one of the burners would not light. I turned on the button, I heard the click, and the burner did not work. I spent $12,000 for this range and I'm still using a match to light the burner. I reached out to them, and they sent one of the contractors. He fixed it for a few hours, and then the problem started again. I reached out to them again. They reached out to me to see if I was satisfied. When I said, "Not really. The problem began the minute the guy left," they were willing to send him out. The guy only came out to Washington, DC to this area on Tuesdays. I worked on Tuesday. I have to go into the office. I told them, "Look, I can live with this as it is." The lady offered to have the guy come back in the spring, which was when they make house calls again.
I'm gonna have to ask them to come back out because there's another issue with the range. When that guy came out, I noticed that the grill was chipped and he was the one who put in a new request for me. Now, because he only worked on Tuesday and I wasn't in my house on Tuesday, I told him, "Just leave the grill by my basement entrance." He did. It's just it was chipped more than the one that came originally with the range.
I was cooking on Sunday and I noticed that when you turn one of the buttons all the way to the left, it doesn't line up. It doesn't line with the low lettering on the button because the metal stick end sticks out where you insert the button to turn on the gas. It's not straight. Now, I'm not going to blame Viking on that. When the range was delivered, it didn't fit through my kitchen door and they had to take those things apart. The guy who was installing it for M&M Appliance, which is the company I bought it from, was not the most patient guy. He was rough around the edges. He put one of them bent slightly.
Yesterday, I decided to clean the oven. The range was delivered in August and my significant other and I cook about three times a week. So, we have been using it since August and I have to clean the oven. I have not paid close attention to the cleaning of the oven, and I really thought it was a self-cleaning oven. I have to call them to make sure that the instructions were correct. You're supposed to clean the oven with Easy Off, which I haven't done in years because even the cheap ranges that I had in my kitchen before I remodeled and spent this much money on this one had self-cleaning.

The Viking scratches really easily. The black shows dust and it's hard to clean. The griddle is visible and looks bad once you use it. Also, the side oven is too small for side dishes. My casserole dishes don't fit. Also, on the very back, there's a vent all the way along, and if you are a true cook, that's gonna get dirty, and I don't see any easy way to clean it. I'm sure it has to vent somehow, but from a cleaning perspective, I just don't see how it's going to be possible. If anything splatters or spills in there, it doesn't come off.
The one real negative that was a safety issue and quite scary was that, apparently it had a recall on it that was very dangerous and could catch fire. I didn't know that when I got the range. No one ever got in touch with me about a recall. The store that I purchased it from said, “Hey, just wanted to make sure you know there's a recall on the range.” But they also were not aware of the extent of the recall, and that I absolutely was not supposed to use the range.
I was using the range for several months and finally, my retailer asks me if I heard from Viking. I said, “No, I haven't heard from anyone.” They said, “Well, maybe you should call them.” and they gave me a phone number to call. I was transferred three times until I got to the one and only recall person who did not have me in the system. That person said I wasn't there. I said that I had gone online and registered. She finally put me on the list for the appliance company that contracted with them to come out and do the recall. That took a while and when the company came, they had to dismantle the entire range. It was spread all over the kitchen and they rebuilt it to put new tubing and connectors that connect the tubing. I had to wait for that to be shipped.
For a range of this quality that was something I would never have expected or should happen. They stepped up and they did the recall. But the issues with the range put my family in danger and it took a long time to get that resolved.

I wanted a gas stove because I have gas in the house. I also wanted something industrial looking. When I went to Ferguson, they were having a promo if you buy the range, you get a Viking dishwasher for free. So it was 5,000 for the range and then that included the dishwasher. I couldn't say no to that. The quality is great. It's definitely a commercial product, which makes it so fun to use. The simmer setting is great. When I couldn't get one of the burners lit, they sent a guy over and he said I just had the pan in there wrong. I just picked his brain and he really showed me what to do in that case.
There are some little quirks about the range that do kind of drive me crazy. When crumbs fall into these cracks, there is no way of getting them out. So the stove is challenging if you're really OCD. But there is nothing cheap or flimsy about this product at all. You could feel the quality every time you set a pan on the stove. It's pretty fun to set a pan on the stove and feel that kind of quality. It's pretty nice. I've gotten more inspired to cook and bake.

I bought the new range and had to get it serviced within not even three months of owning it. I don't know how Viking could release a product like that without having everything checked out before. But I like the six ranges that I have. They cook well and they're burned quickly. The technicians were good when I had maintenance done. The knobs were stuck and they quickly loosened them up and oiled them. They also had to change the gas lines out. There was a recall on it. So, they did well.
I have a dishwasher too and it’s been a little bit of a nightmare. Initially, the footer was broken so they had to get one but the parts were delayed. Then, when the associate came in to fix the footer because it bent the door, the motherboard wire got cut. We didn't have the dishwasher over for about three months because the parts were backordered and then, we got the dishwasher back. Now, it sometimes pulls a full brain fart where the system just keeps running and running and doesn't turn off. So, it'll just cycle and cycle. We bought not only the range but we also bought the refrigerator, the dishwasher and the microwave. We've had the appliances for a while now. We've been having our whole house remodeled and we weren't able to get them installed for a while because we were waiting for our kitchen cabinets to get in. My husband has been unhappy. The Series 3 Viking French-door fridge with the bottom freezer has been a disappointment. We've sat here many times and asked if we should just have Viking come and get the refrigerator. We're not sure what to do about all of this. The refrigerator's our biggest complaint. I had the guy come out and replace the drawer, and the guy said it was the best he could get it. It is still out of alignment after we've had the guy come back three times. So, when you look at it straight on, it's got a gap on one side.
The way the refrigerator is made is not practical. You have one big drawer at the bottom that both doors have to be open to get that out. I understand that. But you have these two other smaller drawers up above the large drawer and you have to open both doors. The thing we really miss about our old refrigerator is we don't have the ice and water through the door. Apparently, that's not available on any of them. You have two drawers on the top door, half of it is the ice maker, and they're not deep and don't hold much. So, that's a problem. Also, we don’t like that the bottom freezer drawer holds nothing.
We were a family of five when we had our three kids at home and I don't see how a family of five can get all their food, especially the frozen food, into this refrigerator. If it wasn't for me putting the frozen food away, my husband would be kicking this thing to the curb because he gets so frustrated trying to get the food in that drawer. And we thought the drawer was going to be more practical because our old refrigerator was just a side-by-side and we never had problems getting all of our food, especially the frozen food, in there. We're only a family of two right now and we don't buy a whole lot of frozen stuff and we've even had to cut back more.
The refrigerator looked impressive and beautiful but it's not practical. It's been hard because we've had people come over and look at the kitchen and want to see the new appliances and they're asking us how we like it. It's awkward. I had a friend whose refrigerator just broke and she called me and asked how I like our Viking and I told her not to get the fridge from Viking and that she won't be happy.
The cooking range is a Series 5 and I haven't had a problem with the cooking but I don't like that you can't tell when the range is on. If we still had small children, it worries me if they were able to open that door. It's weird because I always have to open the door and think if I turned it off. There's no timer on the range at all. We have the microwave mounted up above, which is also a Viking, and you have to use the timer on it. If that microwave was not up above the range, I'd have to go over to the microwave to set the timer and then come back to the range. Then, the fan in the microwave is super loud and when you go to go from high speed to the low fan, there doesn't seem to be a big difference. If it's on high, it's so noisy and you try to press it to go to low, it hardly sounds like it changes. So, I can't figure that one out.
I had an electric stove before this, so I was super excited to get the gas range. This is the first time I've ever had my kitchen remodeled and we've been in this house for 39 years and I've never had upscaled appliances. So, I was super excited. Sometimes, the middle-of-the-line appliances have better features and more safety than what we're finding on the Viking. I'm not impressed with any of these appliances. It's the wife that is going to pick these things apart, but my husband is not a happy camper. He got this because I wanted it and I should have gone with Samsung or LG. We have a vacation home and we have LG and it's so much better.
We also have the dishwasher, which is a Series 5, and I don't like that you can't read the display when you start it. You close the door and you can't tell how much longer there is in the cycle. It has this little blue light that shines on your floor when it's running and when the cycle's done, it'll shine a red light. At our other house where we have the LG, I can look at this thing and see that there's 30 more minutes before the dishwasher's done or I can see that I have it on energy saving or I'm doing a full wash. I can see where it is in the cycle. The only way to look at this one is I have to open it up, which stops the cycle, so that I can read the display panel. It's had a bad smell to it too and it's weird. I was excited to get the warming drawer too. It beeps when it gets to the temperature that you want it to be at but the displays are all inside. So, that's a little impractical. You have to open the warming drawer to adjust the temperature.
There was an issue after we ordered because everything was on backorder. We told Viking we didn't get it and then we talked with the rep and the area supervisor. The funny thing is, what was supposed to take six weeks, we got in two days. So, when we had an issue with getting the appliances delivered to us, they stepped in and helped. But the customer service reps didn’t get everything explained. At this point, if somebody asks me if I’d spend $12,000 again for the appliances, I'd probably say no.

Dealing with Viking was fine but it took too long to get the range. I ordered it in August and didn't get it until June. We’re building a new house, so I had to buy an interim stove. The burners weren't adjusted well when we received the Viking range. When we got to the lowest setting, the flame was higher than it was on medium. But I'm fairly handy, so I didn't have any problem adjusting it. Also, the oven door doesn't shut unless you push on it. I called Viking directly and we have a repair scheduled for Friday. It's not a major repair but it's aggravating. Still, I like what little I've used of the range.

I like the side burners and the large middle burner and the quality seems very good. So, we're happy with the Viking range. The setup was fine though we had some issues later. But a technician came out and fixed them. The range seems to be good except some of the burners have film that builds up around them and we’re not sure what we can do about that. The flames are a lot more controllable than they were before but we still get some yellow tips on the flame when it's on high.

The Viking range is high quality and I love the Gourmet-Glo. It’s the infrared broiler inside, which is my favorite. I purchased the range from a large appliance retailer and they're an authorized Viking dealer. It was good but it took a long time. It was on backorder for months. For the most part, the range is working though occasionally, the auto-ignite thing kicks on a couple of the burners even when the burner's going full blast. So, I have to move the metal around a little bit to fix itself.

I like the space on top of the Viking range. I can have multiple pots and pans go in it. Also, I like the middle part. I can do multiple things at once, unlike normal ranges where you only have four burners. It seems to cook more evenly than the stove that was there, which is nice. So far, the range has been good. But the microwave has been a lemon from the get-go. It was installed and it made a funny noise. They came out and adjusted something but it's still making a funny noise. Viking was originally in our home. And when we remodeled, we put Viking back in our home. We like the multi-burners on the top. And the range cleans easy. But it's not properly heating and the thermostat was bad. We use the Viking repair people here in Atlanta and there was a waiting period to have that done. But when they got it serviced, it seems to be working okay.
When I bought my appliances, I spent $30,000 with Viking and it took forever to get my appliances. They took almost over a year to get us our refrigerator and everything came in pieces and it was very difficult to arrange getting it. And we couldn't even get bill dates out of Viking. So, Viking didn't communicate well. And in that whole process, we were wishing that we went a different direction because Viking was so ill-prepared to service. And the only thing that hasn't given us problems is the refrigerator and the freezer. But everything else that we purchased has given us issues from Viking, including the dishwasher. My Viking range is wonderful and even the boiler is really impressive. I accidentally started to clean it on the inside, which I shouldn't have done, so it looks clean on the side where I cleaned it. But I won’t do that again, because that’s not what you’re supposed to do, and I have to find out how the self-cleaning works. Other than that, it's great that it has a fan inside while you're cooking. I love gas and being able to see where the flame is in relation to the pot or pan. It just works and it works well. If you have the money, I’d buy it. That was a splurge and the bad side was, it took a year and three months to get.

Our Viking range was delivered pretty early. But then, there was a recall on it to have to replace gas piping and the shipment of the piping was really ridiculous. It came in a large box, not packed very well at all, with just the two gas pipes in the box with no padding or packing. A local company repair person came out and did the recall work, replacing the piping in our garage, before it was installed. But during installation, when they reassembled it, one of the igniters may not have been connected properly. So that wasn't working on one of the burners and one of the knobs was really stiff. So we had a service call and that was taken care of in 10 minutes. Fortunately, we didn't have to pull the stove out as it had just been installed in a new kitchen with new flooring. And it's been fine ever since.
It's got the standard vent in the back for being put against a noncombustible wall. Now, it's against the wall, there's a tile backsplash, so you don't need the taller metal backsplash. But it throws off a good bit of heat when you're using the oven. Aside from that, we like the burners and the igniters work well. We like the simmer settings on every burner, too. When making homemade pasta sauce in my previous stove, which was a pretty nice 30-inch stove that had simmer settings, we still had to put these little cast iron diffuser plates because even on a real low setting, it would boil too much. But not with the Viking. You can get low enough. Although, if you go really low, the igniters come back on. But I've made sauce, put them in a low simmer setting, and it'll simmer very nicely.

It is refreshing to hear you are satisfied with your Viking unit, thank you for expressing such loyalty.

Viking Ranges are well-known to be high-quality appliances so we purposely sought out a Viking range for our kitchen remodel. My experience, however, hasn't been super positive. There was a problem with the starter of the first range we had put in so the oven wouldn't turn on. It took over two months to get a new range to replace the broken range.
Since we've had a new range in our house, we often have gas smells. We called the company we purchased from for a lot of the problems in the beginning and we've called some repair people. Communication was not so easy. We had a repairman look at the gas smell issue. No one has quite been able to figure out what's going on. That aside, I like the way our Viking range looks. I like one of the burners. It heats up much quicker than the other burners and it brings water to boil very quickly. I also like the interior and the slide out racks in the oven. The cleanup has been good. It seems to clean up pretty well with regular dish soap and water.

Viking was in my old house and I got a new higher-end appliance. When I went to the store to look for one, I was certain I wanted to get Viking. I love the griddle of my range as that's pretty cool. In the beginning, the gas lines weren’t fitting right. The tech had to take off the top and he had to do adjustments. He said that nowadays, all of them are coming from the factory like that. He said, “All I do is take off all these springs and I'm probably gonna make like a little adjustment.” He made a quarter turn on one nozzle or valve that was on there and all the gas came out fine. The service company got bad ratings online so I was concerned. But when they showed up and I dealt with them over the phone, everything was cool.

Some say it's not what's on the outside-it's the inside that matters. Viking believes both are important, the appearance that makes a customer open THAT door. Thank you for upgrading with our brand.

This is my third house with a Viking range and a Viking hood. We had one problem with the baffles in the hood. One of the handles fell out. I filed a warranty claim, and Viking sent a new one. There are two things I like about the Viking better than the Wolf. One is the salamander for the grilling and the oven. The other one is it has a regular electric thing like you’d see on most stoves. They don't use the salamander in restaurants for nothing. It’s the only way to go. The other is the Viking oven vents out the back then it goes right up the hood. You just turn the hood on low and it vents the heat. Whereas the Wolf, it vents out the bottom. We live in Houston, so it’s hot here.

Everything is good with our oven. The only thing that I do not like is that when you spill or stuff falls in there, it's always hard to scope that out. If it's dry, I just keep pushing it around and I can't get the right elbow swoop to get it out. It's noticeably more challenging than other ranges that I had before. We also had an issue with the fridge. The hinges of the dairy doors broke within seven months. It took a bit of calling to figure out that I was talking to a third party part provider. They were very helpful but they couldn't supply the part. It took us seven months to get a replacement dairy door. That finally arrived and now we’re looking at the hinge fold on these.

Viking is difficult in terms of service because they're not readily available all the time. I have a 5 series and I don't have a self-cleaning oven. But I’m happy with my oven. It works really well. It does the results that I want. But if I had gone with one of the other brands that are already upgraded to a self-cleaning oven, then I would have been as satisfied. I could have gotten the same results in terms of cooking had I gone with another company. Also, I didn't get my $500 rebate that I was supposed to get. I was very angry about that and I’m still waiting. But I did like that I was able to customize the range so I was able to get the color that I wanted. I love gas ranges. It cooks very evenly. But it's hard to clean. The range is divided into three so food particles get down in between there. So I have to get a Shop-Vac to suck it out once a week to make sure that I don’t have any kind of particles down there that might catch fire.

It's a good range. But I've had a couple of issues and I've only owned it for five months. The most frustrating thing is the lead time. I ordered it in June and I didn't get it until March because they hand-build them in Mississippi. I've had two service calls already. I had a wiring harness burn up. Then I had the igniter shorting down instead of across to the burner. So it wasn't igniting one of my burners. I called customer service at Viking and they connected me to a third-party appliance service provider in my area. The process was pretty straightforward.

I selected the cobalt blue, and when it was delivered, the color was completely deceiving. It was purple. So, that was a big fiasco. But we worked this out. We replaced it from the showroom with a stainless steel one. Since I had it, I have two major issues. First of all, the burners change color and they're almost rusting kind of color. They're brass, so they're not really rusting, but they stained. I couldn't find anything to clean them with to bring them back to that brass-looking shiny look. Number two, there is a problem with the heat sensor that triggers the ventilation fan. It’s been an ongoing problem. After you cook a meal when you use the oven, the fan could be on and off for about an hour every three seconds. So, it doesn't take time to cool off. It just disconnects. It goes on, off, on, off. It could drive you nuts.

I bought my Viking appliances in October. Didn't get them until January. When I got them, first thing that happened was the refrigerator was super loud. It sounded like water moving. I called the people I bought it from. That guy said, "I'm gonna have someone call you back." Executive Appliance came out to service and the tech was super nice. His name was Gabe. He said he had seen it before. I hadn't even had it a month by the time they came out. I said, "I shouldn't have to have this repaired. I should have a new one." So that went round and round. They had him try to repair it. The company where I bought it from wasn't calling me back. I felt like I was taken advantage of.
At the same time, my range which is attached to my stove backed up to a new stone wall. When it was put in and they turned it on for 45 minutes, I said, "How come the wall is so hot?" They said, "Because the vent is on the back and it blows air up. So there's condensation and it'd be hot." That took me a long time to get that worked out. I ended up having to buy a whole new vent system. I also never even got my rebate because it all came so late. I bought all the stuff, they told me, I was gonna get a percent back and the guy never did this stuff and I never got it. He said, "It's too late." I said, "I spent $14,000 and I didn't get a rebate." I have a little bad taste in my mouth about it. I was disappointed.

I've had a terrible experience with Viking. They pitch themselves as a luxury brand and as a result, the servicing costs are astronomic and they have a very limited number of servicing options. That excludes having any sort of support people who would take on any of the servicing themselves. This means that I have found myself unwilling to spend the money to have it serviced by Viking’s reps because just the money is silly. There's nothing available online where I can find parts or/and service manuals. I've ended up modifying parts in order to get them to function.
I'm constantly expecting that the Viking range will stop working at which point I will look at replacing it with a more regular consumer brand that does a good job whilst not having the Viking logo on it. Viking should be ashamed of the product they provide. I would never recommend to anyone that they look at purchasing a Viking range. They’re a substandard product masquerading as a luxury brand. I'm surprised the Viking range is not as good as I thought it would be. I wanted it to be perfect because it cost 10 times more what my previous one cost. I expected 10 times more satisfaction but I had a lot better features with much cheaper ranges that I've owned in the past. The Viking range makes a weird noise when it's on. It gets so insanely hot and the metal inside goes concave or convex. It sounds like someone's punching the metal. It takes forever for it to cool down. It's annoying that the fan stays on after it's done cooking.
We had a ton of issues with its installation. The installers via Builder Source had no idea what they were doing. They came out five to six times. The door was wrenched, so it overextended. Even though it was brand-new, we had to get a new door. I had to wait for that to come. I don't like the way only two of the shells usually slide, and that one of them is adjustable, and it slides like it's metal on metal. It scrapes. I've tried to pull things out and the shelf sticks. I've had to burn my hand because I thought it would slide but it didn’t.
It boils water fast, which is super convenient. We have a Le Creuset tea kettle that we boil water in to make French press coffee, and I was surprised because the flame on one of the burners licks around the tea kettle and it half-melted the handle of our Le Creuset tea kettle. Now, I have to be careful to not put it on certain burners that are bigger than the others. What is good about it is it cooks beautifully in the oven. Things are very evenly cooked. I don't have to rotate things on different shelves halfway through cooking like I used to do with my old ones. That makes things taste better.

They were taking forever and then just had to switch to another oven because we were waiting and there was a problem with the one that was sent to us.
The one problem I have had was getting it to broil accurately and dependably. I need a serviceman to show me more about using the broil appropriately. When I put it on the broil, I didn't have it consistently going on to the height of broil. For example, when I had guests over and I just had to brown the top of something, I almost burnt the top and I did burn it a little bit. We just sold our big house and we bought a home that needed a handyman special. Viking has such a nice reputation so we went with them even though it was an upgrade. They were offering a free dishwasher if you purchased the package so that helped out. Unfortunately, we've had a lot of problems. The refrigerator door and the dishwasher door were dented. They said they would get us a new door. But this was a brand new dishwasher and we wanted a new one instead of a new door. We fought for that. For the refrigerator, we got a new door for that.
The range and microwave went in fine. I called when I thought something was wrong with the stove but it was my fault because I wasn't aligning up the burner thing correctly so it was clicking. They then told me the brand new oven needed a recall for parts. A guy came to do that and he messed up the range because it's not even anymore. With the door, you can barely see through on one side of the handle. There's a big gap on the other side. I was not happy with the repair job. They came back out and they fixed it again. They fixed the bottom part but they didn't fix the issue by the door part. They said, “We have to find out from Viking if that meets the minimum spec” to be out of alignment. That was not fair. I just bought these new expensive appliances and I didn't deserve that.
The range is a very big investment and you want it 100% because we are really giving attention to detail because it's our home. We're retired and we want everything to be lovely. I shouldn't have an inferior product. A tech came back then left. I was not happy with this and it was ridiculous. I called back and it's taken over a month now. The appliances are not made as well as they used to. We had to be six weeks without the internal cooking. We could still use the top part, which at least was helpful.
It was COVID and I understood the delays. It was mainly the company that they had to work with here in Northern Virginia. A person then came and did a 40-minute repair. It may or may not have been leaking gas before. It was really just a safety measure. I have a gas monitor on the first floor. I didn't get any beeps before, so I don't even know if ours was affected. But it was in the made date range where we had to change it. On the whole, if Viking is going to be close to Sub-Zero or Wolf ranges in terms of prices, they need to be better. I love to cook and I like how the gas works on the Viking Ranges. I also wanted to have a specialized color on it. That was a nice option. But the quality of the one we got is horrendous. We have had a serviceperson out four times. Now, we have a recall and we have been waiting for the parts. That finally came in and a tech came out to fix the range. I have not been able to use my actual oven portion on either side for two months. The tech said he had to order other parts because when it was put together in the factory, all the screws were stripped and he had no way to get it apart to fix it.
On top of that, the representative never told us anything about how to season the griddle top. I can't use the griddle top either because it's rusted. That is ultimately my fault but there was no support that came with it. It came with scratches on it as well. The pieces have since been replaced. Inside the smaller oven, it wouldn't heat up to the correct heat. It's been the worst experience for something that we spent over $13,000 on. I'm in absolute shock.
Lakeside Appliance was our third-party contact and it's been okay. I have told them probably 10 different times to contact me with any appointment updates. I understand if somebody is sick but I don't feel it's acceptable when they cancel in the morning of when we've been sitting on these parts that had to be put in.
We got a Viking refrigerator as well and we’ve had techs out three times. The ice maker stopped working and I went online to see what problems people have had. It was just basic. We had to reset all the breakers and it started off again. The door came broken and the spring was not working. The fan was really loud too. I’ve known about Viking for years and I decided to buy the appliances to put in my house. I was underwhelmed that all the appliances seem to be a lot flimsier than it used to be. When you ignite the flame on the range, my Kenmore puts out a nicer flame than the Viking does. A couple of the parts on my refrigerator and my dishwasher were damaged as well. I've been waiting since last July to get parts. They're estimating an arrival time of August, which I already have renters in the house for that time. The appliances are not going to be fixed for my rental season and I'm not happy about that. Also, Viking was offering a 5% cashback incentive when you bought a certain amount of dollars of Viking products, and they refused to give it to me on my refrigerator. They said I underpaid for my refrigerator based on what the dealership sold it to me for, but that’s not my fault. That’s pretty grimy.

Viking Ranges are supposed to work perfectly. So, I feel like I got taken with this $12,000 oven that I bought. It has its good points but I don’t understand why the proof function that supposedly exists doesn't work at all. It is advertised as having a proof setting and there is none. I bake bread every week and I can’t proof it in the oven the way I normally do. Someone came out to look at it and they said it's within the range of normal. I’ve got the same kind of answers from the customer service that this is the way it’s supposed to work. And you’re supposed to put the stuff for the broiler all the way down at the very bottom and hope that it works. Also, the gold metal on the grates gets tarnished the minute you use the stove and I have to do a special cleaning job in order to fix it. The stovetop is, generally, otherwise fine, though the oven part is a little uneven the way it cooks.

When I first purchased my first Viking built in double ovens more than 12 years ago, I was so excited. Over the last 12 years, the computer board failed after four years (2700.00)...the first time...and failed again about 2 years ago...so we were left with just one of the double ovens working. Instead of having it repaired (again), we decided to upgrade since we were remodeling our entire house. So last May 2021 we purchased the new 30" Electric Double French-Door Oven for around 11,000.00. Of course, Covid caused everything to be delayed.
First we were told the company that painted the ovens went under and so Viking had to find another company that could match the paint. So that is understandable. We were told the ovens would be delivered December of 2021...so we waited. We asked for delivery in January of 2022 and we were then told, the ovens would not be available until December of 2022...What? We were willing to wait some but not that long...(Cafe makes great ovens now with cameras on the inside and fully smart with wifi hookup...and if you are a baker like me...that is a wonderful asset to have). But I do like Viking and we were notified that we were now second on the list and the ovens would be delivered in April 2022...and they were. They were installed and upon turning them on...we received a message, "F03." So neither oven worked...
Viking wanted to send out a serviceman to fix the problem...Why would new 11,000.00 ovens need service on day one? NOPE...We want them replaced. So now we are told the ovens may be available in September of 2022...Well Cafe is looking really good and much cheaper...especially since I have all of their other wifi enabled appliances. One other thing...we noticed that the French doors were crooked...The installer said that is because the box Viking is housed in was not completely square? Could that be another flaw?
We will try to wait until September...however, if the ovens come like the last one...I will be sending it back and not purchasing Viking anymore. It seems that standards have diminished to the degree that the cost may not be worth the risk in purchasing Viking anymore. But I will wait until September to see if this was a fluke or this is the new trademark of the Viking Corporation.

I cook for parties in our home and I really like Viking very much. It's a wonderful brand. My mom has had a 48-inch Viking range for years, and it's been lovely. They're workhorses, but I can only have a 36-inch. That's as large a stove can be for me. My husband found a range on Facebook Marketplace. It was in a neighboring town and we bought it last fall, but I should have done more homework. The look is gorgeous, but I do not like the design of the griddle aspect on top. I know there are people who love that griddle, but I'd rather have burners. That's a consumer choice I made though.
I knew I was not a fan of the griddle from my own personal experience with another range, but I ignored it, thinking, “Oh, I can work around that.” I loved the electronic igniter feature. It's wonderful. My old stove was a Wolf out of a restaurant, so I’d lit it every time for 30 years. I also have double French door ovens on another wall, so I didn't really need to have the Viking unit. However, I use really large pans, and I love the fact that I can put a full sheet pan in the oven. I also love the roll outs and I like all the lights. It's really cool. It gets up to temp, but it does not hold temp. It will get up there and stay for 30 minutes and it doesn't necessarily turn itself off, but for whatever reason, it stops heating up. I need to track down what the problem is with the oven, and I need to reach out to Viking. Overall, I've had other Viking appliances, and I would recommend them very much. However, the design of this particular stovetop, not at all.

Everything was broken on the Viking range when I got it. The door wouldn't close, the hinge was broken, the oven wouldn't get up to temperature, the burners wouldn't light, and the fan in the back was running like crazy. But they made good on it. They sent a really smart guy here many times. Other companies don't send repair people that know what they're doing but Viking did. It's a nice level of customer service I felt and the range is working great now.

I owned a Viking range previously and I liked the quality. So, I purchased a second one. I like the look of it.
