Maytag’s limited warranty covers parts and labor for one year from the original delivery date to repair defects in materials or workmanship, or it may replace the product at its discretion. From years two through ten, Maytag covers the cost of certain factory-specified replacement parts (labor not included) for noncosmetic defects that affect the appliance’s function.

Drive motors and wash baskets are covered.

You can extend the standard warranty with Maytag’s Flexible Application Protection Plans, which are backed by Domestic & General. The Protect Plan covers appliance breakdowns with no out-of-pocket repair costs, using factory-certified technicians and parts, and includes a full replacement if the appliance can't be fixed.

Limits and exclusions

Standard Maytag warranties only cover certain components. Only the stator and rotor are covered on the drive motor, and only the side walls are covered on the wash basket.

Washers with missing model numbers or serial numbers aren’t covered. In addition, the warranty doesn’t cover damage that isn’t from normal wear and tear or cosmetic damage, such as scratches and rust.

The warranty doesn’t cover the repair or replacement of many of the smaller parts or pay for repair pick-up or delivery, either.

To register your Maytag washer, go to the “Service & Support Owners Center” and click on “Register Product.” From there, you’ll need to fill out the model number, serial number, price paid and the date of purchase, along with your personal information.

How to file a claim for your Maytag washer

Visit the “Service & Support Owners Center” page and enter your model number to start the process of filing a Maytag warranty claim. You can also call customer service at 800-344-1274.

You need your receipt as proof of purchase to claim your warranty, as well as the model and serial number. Your model and serial number will be on a sticker that is located:

• Inside the washer lid on the bottom right corner
• On the back of the washer
