I wanted to buy a new house so I applied for a VA mortgage loan with HomeDirect. I was talking to somebody who knew what he was talking about so, we were good to go. I started four months ago and their process was long. They also need to spruce up their website since it's hard to navigate. But I was well taken care of and I had an amazing experience with them. I got my rep's office and cellphone number and he called me if I needed something, if he needed something or if the bank needed something. When I called his cellphone number, he answered and it didn’t matter what time I called. He always put me at ease with everything. He was even spot on with all the money and knew everything I was going to be on a contract.

HomeDirect had a great interest rate so I applied for VA loan to buy a house. I did the paperwork and I talked to their rep who was really good. We did some credit checks and profiles. He did all his things and I gave him all my information. I also liked the way that they contacted me. They kept me in the loop about what was going on and were accessible. However, I’m a 100% disabled vet paying taxes, and it seems like they can’t get my escrow account together. I have $3,000 in my escrow account and my payment is only $2,200 a year so I’m trying to figure out why they’re still taking money out of my escrow account. I talked to a representative last September and yesterday, I called again and talked to a supervisor because I didn’t get a phone call back. He said he’s going to look into it because it shouldn’t be that way but I haven't got a call back yet. Other than that, I had a great first time experience with HomeDirect Mortgage.

I enjoyed working with HomeDirect Mortgage, and I was able to buy a house. They had the lowest rate, and I was called by one of their representatives almost immediately after I requested for a quote. The representatives did a really good job. They were very attentive, transparent and they worked quickly through the whole process. They walked us through it and got us a pretty good offer. They laid out exactly what we would be paying every month and all the fees and everything associated with the closing. It took us three weeks to finalize all the paperwork, which was reasonable. I would recommend them, and I'd go with them again in the future.

I wanted to buy a new house and since I knew somebody that worked at HomeDirect Mortgage, I applied for a mortgage with them. Their loan process was quick and easy. I started in June and all the paperwork was finalized in 30 days. It was fun working with HomeDirect Mortgage.

I was looking for a bigger house and got a VA loan. HomeDirect's mortgage rate was lower than anybody else’s and the loan officer I had was great. It was a lot easier this time around buying a house than it was in the first house that I ever bought. The process took a little longer because we lost one contract due to the VA appraisal but it's actually pretty quick. It took less than 30 days once we found a house. The rep was fantastic and I appreciated his professionalism. He called me on a weekend to make sure I got a rate locked in. I've referred HomeDirect to a couple of people that are looking for homes.

HomeDirect Mortgage called me to say that they would refinance my mortgage. The guy who called told me what I needed to prepare. I got it for him and then he took care of the rest of it. It was easy. He was good in every way and really helpful and knowledgeable. He saved me money and life has been good.

We have a couple of houses and we did a bunch of refis with HomeDirect before. We had a great experience with them so we kept going with the same person, Tamara. We've used her as our loan officer for about five times already. Their loan process was very easy and quick. This is a new buy and a real estate agent recommended another person but I didn’t like him so after getting the terms, I went to Tamara. She had a very quick turnaround and was able to get the whole thing done in 21 days. I’ve referred her twice and thanks to HomeDirect Mortgage, I got another house. I hope they keep doing what they’re doing.

I liked HomeDirect Mortgage's rates. The bottom line 30 year mortgage flat rate kind of attracted me, but my experience was difficult. The VA process is very detail oriented. There were a lot of things that were required that seemed kind of stupid. But it was a new regulation apparently after debacle, so I understood. I've been through a lot of transactions and Colorado is very weird. The realtors are different. Supposedly, HomeDirect manages their own loans, but the underwriter who approves the loan for the bank was very picky and they said it was because the VA is very picky.

I'm getting ready to retire so I was hoping I can set a retirement home that would be beneficial for me to move in in the future. I was looking to get better rates and I put an inquiry through NewDay USA since I've noticed they weren't always sending me stuff. But they quoted me something outrageous. Then I went through Lending Tree and a bunch of people called. Brian from HomeDirect was awesome to work with and I appreciated his work. Their process was very smooth and convenient. Brian and their other rep, DJ, were also in touch nonstop. The experience was wonderful and one of the easiest financing processes I've done. It gave me another contact in my Rolodex, too. I'm in the military where there's a lot of people that move in and out of the area and I've directed a few friends to HomeDirect.

I had a place in Florida that had a mortgage on and I had taken out a loan in my primary home in New York, so I decided to consolidate both into one. I went online and someone from HomeDirect Mortgage called me up. I was doing a VA loan and their rate was the best of the other two or three that I was looking at. I was also looking for a payment to make when I consolidate it, and HomeDirect got close enough to where I wanted to be so I decided to go with them, and that freed up some other money to other things. We went to the process of getting all the information. It took a little while but they got it done.

We were moving and HomeDirect provided better rates than other companies so we got a loan from them. They were very helpful in trying to find ways when we got stuck in different areas. But the home fell through and we ended up turning around. HomeDirect was willing to work with us on another home and get everything squared away. Their service was really good and they got us the home that we're currently living in. We'd recommend them.

I was buying a house and got a fixed rate loan with HomeDirect. Their rates were better than others and their website was also very good. The loan representative was pretty knowledgeable but not very responsive. Their work was slow, the process took about 30 days. Also, they don’t have very convenient options to pay the loan. I can't pay early for the loans, I can only pay on the first which is the day the loan is due. It keeps charging me random late fees because I can't set an alternate date. So, HomeDirect, in my experience, has been adequate but not great. I’d tell friends to try somewhere else.

I would give them 7 stars out of 5! I worked with Seth ** to obtain a mortgage when I sold my townhouse and purchased my dream home - not that the house would be rated a dream home by most people, but I never thought I'd get to own a house and I love it! I needed the equity in my townhouse in order to obtain the mortgage for the my new home and the purchasers of my townhouse did not speak English and their realtor, as well as their title company were a disaster. They repeatedly gave us inaccurate information and we had closing dates set 4 times that were canceled less than 24 hours beforehand.

We were doing a refinance so we went with HomeDirect Mortgage. We chose them over another lender because we already had another mortgage with them for another house. Also, the representative who was working with us was really good and fair. He was accessible too. If I had a question or concern, he was quick to respond. There was a lot of email coordination as well so there was never a time that I didn’t know what was going on or if there was an issue.

We had some expenses that we needed to take care of, so we applied for a mortgage as a refinance. We contacted several lenders but HomeDirect was more helpful and their rate was the lowest that I found. We felt it was the better one to go with overall. However, in some of our correspondence, our understanding was that they would pay the appraisal fee but we found out that it wasn’t the case. So, I notified the rep and they agreed that the terminology used in the note was confusing. Long story short, we paid one fee that we felt we wouldn’t pay. Other than that, everything was smooth and went very quickly. I was able to pay off my debts. The rep was very good and everyone was courteous as well. I would recommend HomeDirect.

HomeDirect Mortgage had really good reviews. We wanted to get a cheaper rate and get a little bit of cash to do our remodel. I've never done it like this before, but Kent, the loan officer was positive, knowledgeable, helpful, and really great on top of everything. He answered every question I had and if something went wrong somewhere, he was always right there. Everything was done on the computer and it was very simple. I was disappointed when the date that I chose didn't get put in right. It was hard to get that fixed, and at that time, Kent was out of the picture. I wasn't too happy with that, but we got it worked out. I don't know if we would ever refinance again, but I would do it the same way again. You can trust them.

We have a 30-year mortgage and HomeDirect Mortgage had the best rates for our refinancing. Steph, the mortgage broker who dealt with us, was knowledgeable, very interactive and easy to communicate with. There was a lot of paperwork and communications back and forth. We were able to reach her and she responds to our emails and calls all the time. She was more experienced and professional than the Quicken Loans rep we dealt with. I didn't get the sense from her that she was giving us a sales job, which she was, but she was good at it so, I appreciated that.

I was financed through Secure One and then they sold the note to HomeDirect where I took a special VA loan for 2.25% interest rate. I signed a bunch of papers and then I signed up and set up the account. They gave me a list of what I needed to supply them with and I mailed it to them and they did all the rest. I haven’t been with them that long but it was very easy to set up the automatic payment. The customer service was pretty fast and very professional and they helped out when my tax guy needed some information on them. My experience with HomeDirect was outstanding.

Somebody introduced us to HomeDirect Mortgage and we got a 30-year loan from them to finance a house we bought five months ago. Their loan process and their representatives have all been good. We are satisfied and it was a good experience.

I purchased a new home and refinanced with HomeDirect. I had an experience with one of the employees when they worked at a different location previously and because of their customer service, I followed him to HomeDirect. Matt was my representative and Daniel was his assistant and they were just outstanding. I couldn’t have asked for a better team to help me through the process. Everything was great and flawless. Working with HomeDirect has alleviated some of the associated stress with the home purchase process. I've made lots of personal recommendations based off of my experience and told multiple people of their good rates and excellent customer service.

The rep was very good and very pleasant, and the quality of service was very good too. It's a very professional and top company, and they look out for your welfare. If I'd buy another house, I would go with HomeDirect. I would recommend them.

I did a refinance through HomeDirect, and the process was pretty easy and smooth. I only talked to the actual representative twice. He was kind of busy, so I worked mostly with his assistant, and I got frequent updates, and if I had any questions, they were answered very timely. They did a great job and I’ve recommended them.

I was purchasing a property and at first, I didn't trust HomeDirect Mortgage very much. It's an online lender but I thought we could try it because I compared all the loans and from the bank, and their rate was good and the discount was big. Plus I had nothing to lose so I went ahead and did a lot of searching. Kyle, my caseworker and lender, was really good. He called me first and then followed up in three days. Then we started getting a quote and compare. The more we talked, the more I trusted the lender because they worked very diligently and meticulously, and they get everything right. They asked a lot more questions and asked us to revise and remove all the small details in my original contract. They have given many mortgages with fixed structures without any appliances attached to it and I thought it was also very good. I ended up with a 15-year fixed program and we're very satisfied. We got all that he promised.

I had some equity and had to pay off debt. I've been through the process of refinancing before so everything was straightforward and I knew what documents we needed. I just went on HomeDirect's site and they had everything on it. All was done online. I like having somebody handling everything.

When I inquired with LendingTree HomeDirect came up with a high approval rating and their mortgage rates were competitive for our new home. They were competent and helpful but it's unfortunate that we had to jump over the same puddle about 32 times before we got over it. The whole process was grueling because I had some credit issues that had to be refunded but I got it squared away.

I just provided the documents he needed, like a financial statement, and that’s about it. The loan process was pretty easy and it took about 45 days from beginning to end. I got the house and that’s made an impact on my life. I had a good experience with HomeDirect Mortgage and I would definitely recommend it.

We just communicated with them via phone and emails, and that went well. HomeDirect gave good customer service. I sold my house and had a new home purchase. HomeDirect had my loan before, which was through the Bank of Kansas. Brian did the previous one when I was in the previous house that I had refinanced. He was exceptional and that’s why I chose to go with HomeDirect again. I got a a 30-year conventional, fixed loan and Brian did a great job and kept us apprised. The paperwork was finalized towards the end because we had to do a contingency sale and when we needed stuff to be done, it was already done. Right now, we’re dealing with a hazard insurance thing which has been a little bothersome. But other than that, I’ve never had any problem with them. I’d recommend HomeDirect just because of Brian. He was really good and very helpful. I would give his name out to other people for them to go through him. In California, there’re some different laws and he was able to work effectively with our realtor. HomeDirect was very easy to work with.

I was looking for refinancing and I got HomeDirect Mortgage’s rate from the website. It was a decent rate at the time and it was also good and competitive. I work for a bank too, so it’s subjective. I reached out to them and the agent called me back. We went through the preliminary, he gave me the rate, waited a couple of days, he checked back in, then I decided to move forward. Their rep was good, helpful and followed up properly. Everything is fine but I have yet to receive any of the paperwork from the closing people.

HomeDirect Mortgage contacted me and I refinanced with them. I got an email from them and they confirmed with the current mortgage company I had that this was something that was on the up and up. From start to finish, the loan process took six weeks and it was fairly easy. I just filled out some paperwork and mainly everything was done through the internet. There were a couple of phone calls, some secure messages that I had to download then I signed e-docs. Then I had a notary come to the house to notarize the specific documents. My loan person was fantastic and super-responsive. Anytime I had a question, I emailed her and I always got a response within 12 hours, even with our time difference. She always gave me the correct information and called me if it was more detailed than an email could handle. Their communication was excellent, timely and hands down the best I’ve ever dealt with.

They asked for the information that they needed to get the loan and I provided all that stuff. I highly recommended them to a couple of other people since I've bought my home.

I was trying to get my house payment a little lower. I had called a couple of places and since we had a VA loan, I saw that the rates had dropped. And ironically, as I was talking to my husband about it and calling a few places, a gentleman from Bank of Oklahoma called us and said nothing would change except my servicer for the mortgage. I'm in the military service and we waited a few more days to close it but everything went perfectly. This is my first house and I like it. The interest rate and the service are good.

Home Direct had the best rates and programs, in other words, enough peace. And so, I submitted to them all of the documents. The process was all done online. It was very heavy on documentation but it's as easy applying for a mortgage could be.

I started refinancing with HomeDirect three months ago and we managed to finalize everything in a couple of weeks. The rep who called me was intelligent and well-spoken. Most people are pushy but he essentially said, "Would you like to save some money?" And I was like, "Who doesn't?" And then, I was resisting to some degree, but it was a great sales job. We got a VA loan with HomeDirect Mortgage for a new home. Our score was below the 620 but they took the other two scores and worked out so that we could get the 620. They were willing to work with us. We had to do all the paperwork, submit everything that was necessary and provide the various certificates for VA. They tried to answer all our questions and they tried to be there when we needed them. It was fine except for one piece but there’s not a whole lot I can do about that portion. I was supposed to get money back at closing and I talked about it, e-mailed them several times and everybody was on the same page. When it came down to the final documentation they didn’t do it right and it was too late to try and change it at that point because I had to close on Monday so I was a little perturbed by that. But overall HomeDirect has been effective other than the closing cost issue.

Our experience with Home Direct Mortgage was great! This was my wife and my first time buying a home and Steve ** made the process as seamless as possible. The only downsides were having to upload our sensitive documents through somewhat insecure Gmail and/or Google Docs. This made us uncomfortable but we continued and we're happy overall with the company.

I was interested in buying a house and I was referred to HomeDirect Mortgage by a friend. My HomeDirect representative was really great at answering questions. He was able to get me a better rate and just explained things a lot better than the other lender that I had spoken with previously. That was very important and I appreciated his help. I was actually out of state when he did the closing and he was able to coordinate someone coming to my location and completing all the paperwork, and just made the whole package really easy. HomeDirect got me a better interest rate and I look forward to using them again. I've also referred three friends to them and will continue to do so.

My friend referred me to HomeDirect Mortgage and I got a great fixed rate for 30 years to refinance. It has saved me a lot of money. I really like their agent. He has a great experience and I am really satisfied with this deal. I really like to do business again. But there’s one thing I really wish they can probably improve -- if I have some secure website other than e-mail to upload all my financial information, that will be great.

Customer service is horrible, both by email and phone. I was asking standard questions for handling assessments on property taxes for my loan and they were both rude and unhelpful, telling me I had to handle it myself even though the bank has been handling all of this the entire time. Had to go back to my loan agent for help.

I made the choice to do a refi with HomeDirect because of the rates that they had available. Based on the information I had and the information that they gave me, it was easy to get access to the rates that I wanted. The experience I had was very easy and it’s a mixture of communication with the mortgage lender personally and the system that they use to capture and gather data. Plus, their rep was always available, very open and proactive to anything I needed. Their loan process was fine and good as well. Everything takes time these days and they were pretty clear on how long it was going to take and it matched up with that. They were very easy to work with and they're a great place to get a loan.

HomeDirect's rate is competitive, but the process is very tedious and they are not so flexible. I’m not comfortable with them but I didn’t have an option then. Somehow I completed but I nearly cried whenever I send an email and they don’t respond. The reps were okay but a little bit harsh. Noah, whenever I call or return a text message, was so harsh. But at the time I don’t have any option because I’m already bent into the process. I must send a word to closure one week before so that time, I don’t have any other way. I do have my backup plan to go with other local lenders but I didn’t do that because everything was already set up. Even if one of them asked me to refer, I won't refer them. Two of my friends asked me, I didn’t refer them. I called them even then I referred them to my local guy that I’m talking about as a second option for me. They went with them and they closed it also two weeks back.

It seemed like it was pretty streamlined too. I spoke to them a couple of times on the phone but most of our communication was via email. The process was much slower than any other loans though.The main thing was just waiting for the VA inspection to get done and everything was fixed from there. I was approved for the loan within a month-and-a-half, working mostly on the paperwork back-and-forth because mine was a unique situation where I’m divorced and bought my house with my ex-wife. So we were waiting for additional verification for a permit. But everything went well and it was an awesome experience.

HomeDirect Mortgage was recommended by a friend but if I had a choice again, I would not go the same route. We purchased a new home and got a traditional 30-year VA loan. All the documents were in place and it was just a matter of the funding side. It was over-the-top with some of the employment verification considering we've had to break in employment history in 15 years. This process was a lot more cumbersome than our previous home purchases and we've owned four other houses. On a positive note, my rate was very good and I was happy with the rate I got.

Our initial loan with FirstLand Mortgage was three years ago and then we refinanced through HomeDirect. It was recommended by the builder that we used. When we signed up, everyone was able to very quickly answer any questions that we had. Anytime I had emailed our rep with a question, he was able to get right back to me. If not just about immediately, it was always within the same day.

I wanted a house and when I googled interest rates, HomeDirect had the lowest and they had good reviews. Their rep, Chen, was a noble guy and he knew what he was doing. He told me what rates they can give me and how quickly they could move. I told him I knew what I was doing and asked him for the paperwork they needed, which I gave to him. He had all his stuff in order and we closed. I needed it closed quickly due to the market and I also told him I got my pre-approval letter in the mail. We went on their contract that would be closed in 25 days, and it was ready by day 20. Our business transaction was direct and quick, and HomeDirect is a very good internet lender. I'd recommend and use them again.

HomeDirect Mortgage contacted us and they came up with a good quote. They just send us stuff and made the loan process easy. They were good and our rep was easy to get a hold of. Working with them resulted in a decrease in our payment. Our experience has been easy and they have been professional.

I did a refi with HomeDirect through my broker. He used to work for them and he handled everything so I didn’t even know who had my mortgage until I got my first bill. But I’m happy with them and I'd be a lot happier if my payments would go through because they tend to take forever to do so. They have issues with electronic payments. I've only had one since the refi but it didn’t post so they called me and said I didn’t make the payment. I told them I did and then they said they found it and fixed something and that it wouldn’t happen again. This is the second mortgage I did with HomeDirect since I had my new home mortgage with them and then when I refied, it got sold back to them.

Bryan the representative was phenomenal and incredible. He was responsive, knowledgeable and made us feel like we were the only mortgage that he was managing. He responded at nights, weekends, holidays and even a month after the mortgage closed. We contacted him regarding VA benefits and he jumped all over it. I would tell a friend to go investigate HomeDirect Mortgage and make sure they’re competitive and have Bryan manage their loan. HomeDirect Mortgage exceeded expectations. They have professionalism, tremendous support and service.

We talked to three other lenders and HomeDirect had the best rates. We went with a 30-year fixed loan program. Some paperwork was shuttled back and forth electronically and there weren't any glitches. HomeDirect got us to where we wanted to go. We got a much better interest rate and the money helped us a bit to pay-off some credit cards. Overall, everything went smoothly.

We had lowered our percentage on the scores and that impacted our ability to pay off and we’re paying off the mortgage sooner. Also, their rep was honest with his presentation and everything that he said would get done was done. It was a long process, but I had a good experience. I would refer them to a friend.

We bought a new house and HomeDirect got referred to us by a family member. We applied for a conventional mortgage loan program with 20% down and they were great at the beginning. We dealt with Kyle and he was pretty good and super responsive. He communicated even after hours. But when we reached out to him multiple times because we couldn't figure out why we weren't closing, it took days for us to get answers and we were really frustrated. We were more than qualified with any lender we would have chosen and we were two seconds from switching when all of this went down. In the end, we closed over a month late, which was disappointing, and we don't know if it was in part due to the builder or the lender since they blamed each other. But according to our realtor, it was a little bit of both, with the builder and the lender not getting stuff done and not communicating.

I found HomeDirect Mortgage through Zillow’s mortgage app. They were well-rated and their rates were the most competitive. It was a first time for me, but HomeDirect's loan process was easy and things with them went smoothly. I also had a great experience working with their rep. But the loan process was very difficult. It's my third investment property purchase and they were asking for information above and beyond the original things that they have asked on a weekly basis. They had also audited me since closing on the loan. The bank representatives were fine, but the underwriters they used were the big pain in the rear. Overall, HomeDirect was friendly and easy to work with. But I won't go with them again despite their low rates and fees.

In addition, paying through the website and setting up automatic payments were not easy. But when I decided to purchase a second house and made my first house a rental, Chad made the whole process easy.

He was personable and always talked with me if I had any questions. He told me what to expect and what documents were going to be required. As expected, we had to fax things back and forth. We gave him our situation, so there were some circumstances that needed to be taken care of with that, and then we were going to be carrying two mortgages for a short period of time. One of the things we told him upfront was that we were going to be switching jobs as well as switching locations.

I get my statement and I pay everything online.

I put an ad in LendingTree. HomeDirect Mortgage came out recommended with some of the best rates. I ended up doing a VA loan with them. HomeDirect Mortgage has taken over our current loan and they switched a couple of months ago. I’ve had minimal dealings with the reps but everybody I talked to was fine.

We were also refinancing a house that we are already occupying, so it seemed like we were adding this and that which made it complicated as well. But they walked us through it and it ended up being fine. I like that I could email my person directly and it was very personal and I dealt with one person. Then the closing was very easy. We ended up meeting the guy at McDonald's because we had to be out in town and it was very fast. I would recommend HomeDirect.

The representative called me when he needed additional information or documents and I was able to reach him very easy as well. With HomeDirect Mortgage, I got a better loan and a better rate, and I will recommend them.

I was thinking about doing a refinance when I got a phone call from one of the guys at HomeDirect Mortgage. They were at the right place at the right time and I got a VA loan. Their guy, Chad, sent me over some stuff to sign and I looked over the rates. We dropped my rate almost one percent so I gave the go ahead on everything. I signed it, my wife signed it, we faxed it over and sat back and waited. What impressed me most was that I didn’t have to do anything. Everything went smoothly and my payment's lower. I'd tell a friend who might ask me about them that we were happy with everything. Everybody did a good job and it was a great experience.

I applied for a VA loan with HomeDirect Mortgage. The process was reasonable and it's mostly paperless, which is awesome. Their representatives were pretty responsive and their service was good. The mortgages got sold to BOKF and that is a pain because I can't get them into Mint, which is a financial aggregator. And the only downside is that under my old mortgage, I could have all that stuff in one glance in Mint. And with BOKF, I can log in independently through the website, but I can't connect it to Mint. It is going to stir people away from HomeDirect if they don't care about that. It’s a deal killer for certain people. Other than that, I saved money working with HomeDirect. And my experience was fairly consistent and timely.

We finally decided that we're going to stay in our house versus buying a new one, so we applied for a 30-year mortgage. HomeDirect services their own loans, their rates were comparable and the loan process was electronic for the most part, which was easy. The only confusing part about that is they operate under multiple companies. I got the information with all the current orders, solicitation and everything else that I got. It would be nice if the name was all the same throughout the process. I had to double check with the rep, Jeff, multiple times. I'm a good candidate and I knew what I wanted, how I wanted to position and when I wanted to close, but I needed some guidance since I haven’t done a mortgage in 20 years.

Also, despite the fact that he was in a different state, it was a quite pleasant communication.

The rates of HomeDirect were also a lot better than what I currently had so I went with them. I also liked that HomeDirect would service loan themselves and they weren't just brokering. All of my interactions with their rep were okay but it wasn't a perfect and seamless experience. At one point, he was not up-to-date on some of the new guidelines. He thought that I didn't qualify but I updated him on that and then we were good to go after that. Also, one of the documents, like the last one, showed the wrong amount at one point. So, when they came to signing, they had the wrong amount on that closing disclosure and we had to redo that.

He did a great job and I also recommended him to several friends since the process. The whole process took 45 days and everything was expeditious.

I spoke with a couple of different lenders and HomeDirect's rates were very competitive as well as their fees. I got a VA loan from them and the process was really simple. I have really good income and credit so I made it easy for them and transversely, really easy for me. I was trying to purchase a home in Los Angeles and the housing market was really tough. That was disjointed and added extra time. But after I brought it up to their attention, the issue has been resolved. The representative that I worked with was one of the managers. He referred me to one of the mortgage brokers and that’s the guy that I had a little frustration with. I ended up having to escalate it back to the manager that I had a relationship with. But other than that, it was fine.

A lot of mortgage companies have a hard time keeping up with documents but we didn’t have that problem with HomeDirect. They were pretty efficient and communication was excellent. HomeDirect had very positive impact on my life and we recommend them to other people.

I was buying a house and applied for a VA loan with HomeDirect Mortgage. They have the best rate and closing cost that I saw so it's going to save us a lot of money. The loan officer also that I worked with was responsive and represent the company well. The process was simple and painless. There’s a lot more paperwork that I was used to the last time I bought a house. He called me right after I requested a quote and very clearly laid out what my options were. He was also more responsive than other companies that I spoke with plus he has the ability to make it an easy process.

I changed jobs, moved to Chicago and needed to buy a new house. So I got a VA mortgage with HomeDirect and it worked really well. Over others, their services and the lower fees were what I liked. But the lack of expertise at HomeDirect dealing with VA mortgages was problematic. There were tasks that are normally accomplished by the lender that I actually had to do myself, managing and taking care of that stuff with the VA. Getting the property certified for a VA loan is normally handled by the lender. I was told that it would take several months for them to complete it. Whereas, knowing absolutely nothing at the beginning, it took me less than two weeks. So, if a lender is going to say that they service VA mortgages, they should have the expertise to actually follow up on that. Everything else was spot on. They’ve also been very attentive and it’s a good thing.

I started with another company, but I was mad that they changed the term later and asked me to put down 25%. Connor, the rep from HomeDirect, stayed on top of things and were reliable. Everything was done within 10 to 12 days, so I went with them. They told me everything they needed up front and I was able to turn over those documents quickly. Everything went smoothly from the start to finish. The appraisal and paperwork was fast. There were not a lot of hassle or back and forth on the documentation as well. Everything was done either before or on the due date. We were able to close the deal on my new home, but some competitive rate will be better because I was getting a 3% rate at that time, but what I got was 3.25%. All in all, HomeDirect Mortgage was reliable and I would recommend them.

Derek, my loan application processor, communicated well in the beginning but after the application process started, it was clear that he wasn’t as available and didn’t communicate as well as I would have liked. I don’t think that’s because he wasn’t doing his job but when you’re on the buying end, even if there’s no status update or change, it would have been nice to hear communication on a more regular basis. There were several periods of time where a week or two would go by and we wouldn’t hear anything. That was frustrating on our end. There’s a lot of information that we did not understand but the questions that he did answer, he was very helpful in letting us understand.

The loan process with HomeDirect was annoying at times because the figures never stayed the same. There was one time in particular where I got flustered because it seemed like some figures were changing. From my analytical standpoint when I’m comparing different lenders and shopping around, it just became a little frustrating because you get these numbers that change. The rep explained to me where the figure was changing from and tried to reassure me. I appreciated that. He was pretty knowledgeable and helpful throughout the whole process. I would recommend HomeDirect pretty highly because they had better rates. When I was comparing a bunch of companies and different numbers, they were consistently lower than the competitions. The process went pretty quickly and there wasn’t too many hassles. It was pretty simple and straightforward. I was very pleased.

I wanted to refinance and see if there were lower rates than getting rid of one particular credit obligation. I went to different lenders and that prompted lots of phone calls and emails and I had to sift through a couple. Bank of Oklahoma did a nice job and I like to continue discussing with them. The biggest point for me for having HomeDirect was that if Bank of Oklahoma supposedly keeps the mortgage it doesn’t get resold and passed around with different service providers.

There's low interest rate right now so I did a refinance with HomeDirect Mortgage. They had one of the best rates available. Most of the things were done through the computer and the process moved quickly.

But if there was anything important, I’d always do it over the phone and their rep was very personable. She was very considerate on us and we liked the amount of attention that was paid to our experience. It wasn't hectic or stressful. It was a very excellent and positive experience, and we were very impressed.

I'm very happy with HomeDirect Mortgage. I considered applying for a mortgage due to certain house expenses. Also we had an adjustable mortgage and I wanted to turn it to a fixed mortgage. I went to LendingTree.com and got a contact to HomeDirect. They responded to my request so I opted to go with them. I also had one other lender call me and they weren't as professional as this company. The people from HomeDirect were very professional and polite. They did everything expeditiously. They provided good advice and they were very helpful if I had any questions too. I had to get a hold of them and they got back to me promptly. HomeDirect helped me out in refinancing and got me extra money to help pay for some house expenses.

We ended with a VA loan and they did fine handling the process. The representative I worked with did a good job right up, but getting closer to the end, he got a bit of an attitude with me when I was trying to decide between him and another mortgage lender.
