    We were purchasing a new home so we applied for a mortgage and HomeDirect had the lowest rate that we found. But there was a lot of miscommunication between the people that I was working with. Originally, we were working with Tyson and then all of a sudden, we were working with Donna. They were not communicating back and forth with one another and were asking the same information.

    Tyson said that they needed some information and I asked him why, but he didn't give me the correct reasoning and just said, "Well, we just need it," and that's not an explanation. I emailed him all my bank statements for certain amounts. Then he said that they needed to know where a certain amount in my bank account came from because the government wanted it. I asked him for the codes and why. Some people don't care about that but when they're asking me to pull 30 bank statements, I want better reasoning than that the government said they had to have it.

    We put our offer in on the house but we didn't close for three months because we weren't moving up in Alaska for three more months. That was a long closing period and they had plenty of time, but our closing date was delayed for five days due to their not having the papers ready. That was frustrating and affected the sellers. We didn't need to move into the house right away but if we had to, that would have been frustrating as well. Overall, Tyson communicated very well with me and when he said that they needed some information, I got it to him in a timely manner. But that was just towards the end when it was getting close to the closing date, and they should have been working on all that two months prior.

    I was moving due to military orders and I needed a place to live, so I decided to apply for a mortgage. I’ve been telling a lot of people about LendingTree. So on a whim, I tried the LendingTree process and it led me to HomeDirect Mortgage. I had used some lenders in the past, and I liked and trusted their customer service. However, those companies were unable to match HomeDirect’s rate and incentive kickbacks. I applied for a new home purchase and ended up with the 30-year fixed loan program.

    HomeDirect Mortgage’s loan process was very painless and easy. The loan officer whom I was assigned to was very competent, approachable, and available. It’s great that within a couple of conversations, I was able to contact him by any means necessary and any time of day. Whatever questions popped up or whether we’re working on different time zones, I was able to contact him. It was a very positive process to the point that I have recommended my loan officer to one of my best friends as he was trying to buy a house as well.

    I relocated to a different town for my work and we purchased a house. I went with a fixed VA 30-year loan program and got a better rate with HomeDirect Mortgage. Here in Greenville, South Carolina, the rate was almost a full percentage point higher than what HomeDirect Mortgage was able to deliver. The loan process was surprisingly easy. When we signed the contract to have our home built, we were 45 days out from the expected closing date and our original lender fell through. We scrambled and found HomeDirect Mortgage about 40 days out and was able to get a rate lock within a day and closed on time. HomeDirect Mortgage was able to manage the deal in less than 30 days.

    They worked with me step by step. We were on top of it with every other person I had. They answered in a timely manner, worked well and directly with our builder and realtor. It went very smooth considering the time crunch and all the other stuff involved. With the previous lenders I dealt with, I have to come to the table with all the research and figure out the options and what was the best path for me. But with the HomeDirect representative, he knows there are certain options for me, which is exactly what I wanted. Having to do all the research myself was extremely annoying but having them do the research and lay down the numbers with which option that works best for me was very, very helpful. I can't thank them enough for being on top of all the headaches involved because it was touch and go for a bit with the builder. They were not happy I was switching lenders at the last minute.

    This is the fourth home I purchased and by far this is the best experience. HomeDirect Mortgage got a rate that worked for me and it freed up an extra $100 a month. Cash is king, so the better service and the best deal when there's more money in my pocket. I'm definitely happy to refer them.

    I've been dealing with HomeDirect from my previous VA loan three years ago and now with my refinance. They've been helping me a lot and gave me excellent service for both transactions.     We were buying a new house and went with their 30-year VA loan. I initially did a LendingTree application online and I had a bunch of people from different companies providing great quotes. HomeDirect's was significantly better though. I took the normal documentations and got the email with their rate quotes. Then our house got inspected and appraised and the closing was completed at our house. The reps from HomeDirect kept me very informed about the whole progress of everything, so I was very happy with them.     We had an amazing experience with HomeDirect Mortgage. I'm surprised that we closed down a house as quick as we did. We wanted our own home, so we considered applying for a mortgage. We searched online and we liked HomeDirect’s rates. We got the VA home loan from them. Ryan helped us and guided us through the steps to get our application approved. He set us up for success with the house and we're very happy. He was very professional and had a very quick response time. We shot him an email with any questions we had any time of the day and he responded back very quickly.

    We did an initial credit check first. Ryan gave us some tips to improve our credit scores to have better rates. Then, we revisited it several months later and Ryan was still on board. He was still contacting us to see if we're ready. After we had the credit rating that we wanted, we pulled the trigger and went through with the loan application. Ryan was good. We weren’t expecting to get a mortgage that time but he worked with us and figured out what we got to do. We're very happy with his service.

    I'd recommend HomeDirect Mortgage to a friend. If my marine buddies are looking for a first-time VA loan, they should shop around. Normally, the first thing everybody does is go through either Navy Federal Credit Union or USSA. They don't exactly look around to explore their options. Just because it's a VA loan, it doesn't mean they necessarily have to go with their primary banks that they have in the service. They can look around and they'll find out it is just like any normal loan.

    HomeDirect Mortgage was wonderful and I would use them again in a heartbeat. We were relocating for work, so we applied for a mortgage for a new home purchase. We went with a conventional loan program. One of Money Talks News’ suggestions was Quicken. We also applied with Quicken and Garden State Loans, and HomeDirect was the easiest mortgage process I've ever gone through. It was online and quick. There wasn't a giant stack of papers to sign when we closed.

    The lady from HomeDirect who we worked with was great, too. We talked to her on the phone the first few times to give her all the information and after that, we talked through email. She answered any questions that we had. She also kept us up-to-date with, "Hey, we just applied and got approved. We got the purchase order in." And within three days, HomeDirect had somebody out here to appraise the house. We put in a couple of offers on different places and the lady rated the approval letter each time to show that we weren't approved for the higher amount. Their reps were always easy to contact to, as well. HomeDirect made it a lot easier for our relocating. They gave us a top price so we had that going in. They have the best and lowest closing cost that I've seen.

    I had a conventional loan program with HomeDirect Mortgage. It was for a new home purchase. They had better customer service and competitive rates over other lenders. The lack of overhead meant that their closing costs were much less than what our local banks would charge. The overall loan process was also fairly easy. I submitted an inquiry online and the mortgage representative got back to me. Then I assumed the normal mortgage process at that point. I had to submit financial information and documents that needed to be signed. Mortgage involves a lot of paperwork and we did that electronically.

    My broker, Richard, was great. He was in Oklahoma and I was in New York but that was not an issue. He stayed in contact with me and walked with me throughout the process until we closed. He knew what he was doing and I was most impressed with his follow-ups. Overall, it was an easy, reliable and simple experience with HomeDirect Mortgage and I would recommend them.

    I refinanced for a new home with Home Direct Mortgage. I went with an FHA 30-year program. I realized that I was going to be in the same place for a little while, so I decided that I should probably go ahead and invest in some real estate. The loan process was really good. I started out talking to Ryan and he gave me some direction, told me to pick a place, and went through the entire process. I started assembling a lot of documents. We had some hold ups, but we were able to ultimately come out with a mortgage, succeeding.

    We would recommend HomeDirect to a friend almost entirely on the basis of our positive experience with our loan professional, Brandon **, who I would personally recommend to any friend. Brandon was knowledgeable, responsive, thorough, friendly, efficient, and courteous. It's too bad HomeDirect doesn't provide borrowers with the same kind of personal account manager once the loan closes.

    Two other suggestions: First, improve your ability to distinguish between a homeowner/borrower's property address and mailing address. Through the courtesy of our local post office, we continue to receive mail at our post office box that is misaddressed to our street address. Second, we set up an escrow account to pay our homeowners' insurance payments, but our insurer, AAA, continues to bill us directly. HD needs to better coordinate with insurers (and property taxing agencies?) to more effectively transfer the responsibility for payment from the borrower to HD.

I did several comparisons and they came up consistently having the best price. It was also very easy working with their team out of Kansas.     I wanted to refinance my home but didn't like my previous lender. I chose HomeDirect Mortgage because they showed me some programs that other people neglected to tell me about. The person from HomeDirect Mortgage who did my loan was very knowledgeable and courteous. He guided and assisted me throughout the whole process.     We wanted to buy a house and HomeDirect came up at the lowest rate for a mortgage when I did a search on the web. We went with the VA loan but it was March when we first applied for it and we closed on May 3rd. It was a pain signing papers. It had to be signed by hand and then faxed in. Also, the rep told us one thing and then it would be different. He was also a little bit pushy.

    At one point, I was ready to switch and go with somebody else completely because of our home insurance. The rep was telling us that we all got to get it in and then, we went and got our homeowners insurance through USAA and we're trying to get a hold of him so we can get the papers that he needed, he wouldn’t take our calls. When we got to the office, they said they'd have him call me right back but he never did. It was on a Thursday and we finally got a hold of him on Monday. We were doing a conference call so, I know they were talking to him. He's saying how bad USAA is and it was all their fault. Their service was okay but I'd tell people to go somewhere else and do something locally.

I would also refer a friend to my mortgage guy. He was friendly and helpful plus I have also worked with him in the past. However, the underwriting part had some weird questions, unnecessary pieces and requests that had hoops to jump through. It's either I do it and get my mortgage or otherwise.     I went with a 30-year VA loan with HomeDirect Mortgage. I was going from place to place in a new job and I was a referred by another customer that they had. It was roughly a two month-long process and it was mostly very good. The guy who had facilitated my loan was very easy to work with and seemed like he was on the ball. He was fantastic. He always have an answer for me and he was very calm. He knew what to do and how to get stuff done fairly quickly. He worked all hours. Even my realtor said that she was very impressed with him that he would respond to her emails when she's not expecting to get it until the next day. He would respond really fast to her and was really good as far as that goes. He was on the roll.

    The only complaint I had about the whole deal was that I wanted to put down $35,000 on the loan and they only allowed me to put $21,000. There were plenty of backs and forth to secure my loan. I didn’t have internet at home and had to go to the public library for internet which was not usual with most of the customers so it was a little bit more difficult. Overall, the service was pretty darn good and I'd recommend going with them because the interest rate that I got through HomeDirect was really good.

    I needed to refinance for I had just gotten a loan and I realized I screwed up and needed to get something better. The interest rate I was getting from the local bank was really high, so I went to LendingTree. I put in my information and everybody called me. But HomeDirect Mortgage had the lowest interest rate and their representative worked with me really good. He had no problem walking me through the stuff four times because I had no idea what I was doing. As I was getting all the paperwork and financials from the bank where we had gotten the loan originally from, Jim just kept backing us up. If we had any questions, he would answer them and give us suggestions. The task could have been a lot harder and he definitely made it a lot easier.

    Working with HomeDirect is gonna let me pay the mortgage off ten years earlier than I had anticipated. So now I can retire without having a mortgage which is awesome. They literally took all the angst that I had about going through this whole problem and got the job done so it was amazing. I'd tell others to get in contact with Jim and let him walk them through it. But I would also tell them to go to LendingTree and see what they come up with. It's all about the money, so go with the lowest one and HomeDirect was the lowest one.

    I applied for a refinance because of a friend's referral and I chose HomeDirect because of the rates. My experience during the loan process was fabulous. They were excellent and knowledgeable. They had every question answered and they resolved a lot of the complicated issues with ease. In every step of the way, they were supporting and helping me out with my questions and what docs to have. Once I submitted all the docs, they would email me and let me know if anything was missing. Everything was perfect and the one time I contacted customer service, they were very good too.

    There's only one issue that I have with them, and that's with the automatic withdrawal. They do it very early, which is on the 10th of every month, and I wanted that to be a little later than that, maybe the 12th or 13th of the month. Otherwise, everything else is fine. It had been a very smooth and quick transaction. Plus, I had a very comfortable and great experience. I would definitely recommend HomeDirect Mortgage highly.

    I needed money to finance a house and HomeDirect Mortgage had the best rates. Also, the individual I ended up talking to was very forthcoming and easy to work with. I did the application and we did a phone interview. We went back and forth via text message. They took my income and all of our assets, locked it in and then all of the subsequent paperwork that was required for the verification for the conventional loan purposes. Josh was very knowledgeable about the process - all the ins and outs, what I should be doing as an applicant, what the other people should be doing as sellers and what I should be asking from my realtor.

    Also, he was there every time I had a question and laid out all of the fine print, what would happen, what my role was, when he would step in, who to talk to next and when to provide documentation.     A mortgage company we had before failed to take enough money for escrow for the taxes and insurance. We refied with HomeDirect Mortgage and ended up going with their VA loan with a thirty-year fixed rate. Right away, I was given a quote online and I got a representative calling me. He was very helpful and straight to the point but I dealt with his assistant. But there were a lot of steps for the loan application. Because it was a VA loan, they were particular about painting my eaves. They weren't very clear and they were being a little picky but we told them that we were fixing stuff. So it was a little inconvenient. I also had to get a termite team to inspect the house and do treatments.

    But the loan process was very detailed and it went smoothly. I had some details that I had to accomplish and I’ve never done this kind of thing before but once I got the answers, it was okay. It was more convenient than it normally was to get a house. And the loan I got was what I needed to put me back on track with our home finances. We made our first payment this month and I paid it late because I was busy at work and I kept forgetting the information needed to make the payments, so that was a little difficult for me. Now that the information is there, I'm hoping next month payment would be a lot easier for me to either call it in or simply make the payment online. But HomeDirect should make the first payment a little bit more convenient by taking a debit card.

    I bought a new home and got a V.A. loan. HomeDirect had comparable rates and I was happy about that but the process is horrible. There was a lot of stress involved trying to do things with them. That section between between them and the underwriters doesn't communicate with each other and every time I submitted the paperwork, I had to send them documentation over and over. One day I had to talk to the salesperson, one day to the underwriter, and another day to another person. It was just too much I had to deal with while I'm trying to move.

    We didn't settle on time either and they had to delay 24 hours, which messed up everything else. I had to re-arrange the moving, unpacking, and storage. They were saying it's not their fault but the V.A.'s but I did not believe that. They had three months to take care of all the paperwork and have everything lined up so that did not make sense to me. I did not have a pleasant experience so if I am buying another house, I'm probably not going to use HomeDirect Mortgage. Besides, some other lender offered a better rate afterwards but I had already signed up with them at that time so I didn't want to change.

    We were planning for the future in terms of knowing that we could get a better interest rate and we wanted to go back to a VA loan. I did an application online and I had a couple of different people reach out to me. I researched one of the people that reached out and also the bank. And I felt HomeDirect was a good fit.     I did a re-finance with HomeDirect and the process was a little bumpy but it went okay. I was with Quicken Loans before and I talked to one person for gathering of information. Then the loan is being processed and I'll talk to another person. And when the loan is fixing to close, I'll talk to another person. Normally, I just got three people to talk to but with HomeDirect, I was talking to six or eight people. I had two or three different people calling me during the same process. I had too many people calling me. They would tell me who is the next person that I'd talk to, but I never got a clear number to one person whom I could talk to about everything.

    When I'd call and try to get a hold of somebody, I'd have to leave a message. They'd call me back but it would be somebody totally different and I didn't know who they were. And then there was a few issues because I don't file taxes. They wanted 1040's and I haven't filed one in years. So I called and talk to them about that and I got somebody else. I couldn't get the person that I needed to talk to and it was a little confusing. But HomeDirect has the lowest interest rate and they were able to take the loan back to 15 years. And nobody else could beat their rate, not even Quicken. Also, Quicken refused to go to 100% value, but HomeDirect would go with it.

    I was buying a house and got a VA loan. I originally had somebody set up for financing based on my realtor's recommendation and I was already far along the process and I was doing everything from long distance. But, the numbers weren't adding up so I put my information on Lending Tree and got 100 phone calls within 15 minutes. But I called back the HomeDirect rep, Tim, and after about a 30-45 minute conversation at probably 10 or 11 o'clock at night, I told him that I was going with him. I would've taken a higher interest rate because of his customer service throughout the whole process compared to another competitor.

    HomeDirect Mortgage was so great. When I was looking for a lower rate online, they had the lowest rate for a new purchase. They were also upfront, honest, and spot-on about everything.     We had a friend who highly recommended HomeDirect Mortgage and we ended up going with the FHA loan. It was for a new home. The rate that they were offering was substantially better than the mortgage company that we were working with prior so we switched over. It was my first time, so the loan process was a little nerve-wracking but any question I had was quickly answered. The customer service was awesome and they explained how they come up with the rate. It was awesome that they're a third party and do their own private loan. I was also very surprised to know that it was locked for the duration of the loan, which was outstanding.

    There was a little back and forth though in trying to get accounts, mostly on our part, because some of the account numbers weren't showing in the outputs I was putting. One of the underwriters was trying to get some more account information. When we thought that the information was sufficient, it bounced back two days later and they needed something else. They weren't very specific on asking for some of the account confirmation we needed for our down payment and the record of that being moved. That wasn't very clear in the beginning, but it was clarified as we went through.

    That was the only bad experience I had because I was fetching information. But they worked with me directly each time and they were very understanding and apologized for the specifics though it wasn't anything on their side. It was stuff that they had to submit because FHA is very strict on what they need for specifications. But we were able to resolve it in a timely manner and still made closing with time to spare. It was well-handled. The underwriters and the closing team that we had working with went really smoothly. It was a great experience.

    I would highly recommend HomeDirect Mortgage, especially the rate that they can offer, and how quick and attentive they are. They were very aware working with our agents and our timeline for the closing. They were very diligent and very courteous in keeping the timeline so anything that I needed was submitted right away.     I've used refinances and purchases with HomeDirect. They had the lowest rates. I've owned four homes and a bunch of mortgages and refinances and the rep has been the best with the paperwork and he's well organized. He asked for paper work initially and I could count on everything he asked. He knew what needs to be provided in the very beginning and didn't keep hounding me every week with more documentation. That's what pushed me away from a lot of places when I got two weeks into a mortgage and they wanted me to provide more documents because they didn't have their stuff together to tell me in the very beginning.

    We had a new construction and we needed to convert from our construction loan into permanent financing. So, we got a 15-year fixed refinancing from HomeDirect Mortgage, which was one of the banks that came in through Lending Tree. We got a call from Ryan, and he talked us through it as we were comparing the loans. He was knowledgeable about the products and what he was offering. Also, he gave out his cell number and if we needed to get a hold of him and had any questions throughout the process. He responded to the emails promptly and was there for the few questions that we did have. They had a really good rapport with it and based on the rates and fees, it seemed to be the best deal for us out there.

    The loan process was electronic, so it was really very easy and it took about 30 days. Everything was done via email, so we have the electronic documents.     I purchased a new home and went through Lending Tree. I had several responses from them but working with the various lenders, HomeDirect offered me the lowest interest rate. It was our first home and I was in the military and it was a first-time homebuyer and a VA loan that I went with. I gave them a number that we were going for in a house and the process was finalized in ten days. But they can improve on their online payment. I haven't found a way to do it if I want to pay an x-amount of money this week and for another week towards the loan and do it all at once.     Home Direct Mortgage has a pretty good process. My husband and I were moving for work so we wanted to do a VA loan. We wanted a lender that was familiar with the VA home loan process. So we applied for a mortgage with Home Direct. My husband has bought his seventh house and he was saying that it was a little different. He thought that some things could have been faster. Though it didn’t take that long, we got approved the next day. We were looking to close in two weeks but it actually took up to the 28th, so it was not the closest but not the worst.

    I got an ad in the mail that sounded like a scam. It was from a different company and not from HomeDirect. I talked to my financial advisor and he said that it's real but I shouldn't do it with that company. He suggested talking to a HomeDirect rep instead. The rep was incredibly helpful with everything. He checked up on me routinely to see if I need anything or if I had any questions. If I emailed him right now, he would get back to me in 15 minutes or less.     I wanted to buy a home and HomeDirect Mortgage had the best rate and they offered us money to close. I went through five or six different lenders looking for rates and no one could beat them. We did an unconventional loan process. We went in without a realtor and winged it on our own on our first loan. It was nerve-wracking but everything worked out well. They were helpful with getting all that stuff approved. As long as you have your paperwork in order, the process was pretty easy.

    The owner of the house made me drop $15,000 off the price if I came in without a broker because he didn’t want to pay an additional closing cost. So I saved myself a boatload of money. And I just hired a lawyer for $400 to go over paperwork to make sure everything was in order. The representative from HomeDirect was helpful and knowledgeable about what he was doing. He was also pretty responsive. He’s closing other deals at the same time and working, but he called me within a couple of hours or on the next business day depending on what was going on.

    We’re purchasing a new home and no other lender offered such low fees than HomeDirect Mortgage, plus there were numerous benefits to it. For example, there’s no time requirement for the PMI. There are also two options to the recalculation of the loan based on additional downpayments and it was the cheapest loan by far among the 10 lenders I spoke with. In addition, they were the only lender that would allow me to lock the rate prior to having a contract and it’s important because rates fluctuate. The rising rate environment doesn't directly correlate to mortgage rates but usually have some correlation when the federation rate that causes the 30 year treasury rate to rise. There was an anticipated rate hike immediately prior to when we expected to have a contract so I opted to lock my interest rate with them prior to that date and it was substantial savings.

    Jim was the rep I worked with and he was excellent and it was easiest to reach him by phone. He was responsive and gets back to me within 24 hours plus he was very forthcoming and completely honest.     I was buying a house and I got the VA loan program from HomeDirect Mortgage because their rates were the lowest. Everything was done over email and over the telephone. Connor, the one I dealt with, went on leave at the middle of the process so he got one of his co-worker, Avery, to continue it because there's a crunch time with my loan process. Avery monitored the documents I was passing and if it wasn’t good then she would go verify and call me back and tell me if I needed additional documents. As soon as they receive any document, they confirm whether it's good or not. A lot of it was on me and getting everything that they need in a timely manner. Anytime I called or anytime I had questions they were always there to respond in a coordinated and timely manner.     I’ve been looking at mortgage rates for a while. We needed to pay off and do a few things. I then found that HomeDirect had the best rate. I had an APR of 3.25% with them and it wasn’t worth it to go much higher than that. Also, they were within my comfort range so I did a VA refinance with them. The loan process was extremely easy. I had some trouble with my Mac coordinating with their documents, but once I got that worked out, it was okay.

    When I sent an email, Richard, their representative, called me the next day and said, “Yeah. Okay. Let’s see what we can do.” So, I sent him a few documents and we locked in a rate and got everything done. It didn’t take too long. We had to make a few repairs which needed to be done anyway so, that’s okay. Richard was a great guy. He was kind, not condescending, as some people are. HomeDirect Mortgage made it easier for us.     I was looking for a new home and ended up with a 30-year fixed interest loan with HomeDirect Mortgage. It was Bank of Kansas City when I started my mortgage and maybe they made some changes and it became HomeDirect Mortgage, but the Bank of Kansas City had really good reviews and how they handled the process and they did. It was very smooth and nice. I didn’t even feel I was dealing with a bank but with somebody that was there for me. Their process was so easy. I have purchased a home before and it was a lot of paperwork. It was more work with my mortgage than I thought and with this new mortgage, everything was new. We send an email if I had a question and if I call somebody’s there to answer plus the rate was the rate that I actually needed. They had a lot of knowledge and do a lot of loans.

    We started talking with a guy about the rates and how it goes. He educated me about how the market goes, rates up and down, how we should be approaching this before we lock a rate. We needed to lock a rate and it’s super easy. He’s not forcing anything onto me and it was more of an education. He explained the steps and what we are going to do next. Everything was on time and exactly the same as he said so it was no surprise. The mortgage process could be a little bit overwhelming, but having somebody to be there it was easy.

    The only real concern I have is they sent me a letter then I sent out my automatic payment and then they sent me a letter again saying that was not the address. So I changed the address and haven’t heard from them so I guess the payment went through the right address. It's out of my back account and I have it set up automatically. If they haven’t changed the process, I will recommend them and the only thing they need to do is to get the address where I should send my payments straight.

    I was looking to do a refinance. HomeDirect Mortgage contacted me when I was really getting ready to make a decision or I was leaning towards a company. They did everything they said they were going to do. The professionalism was very good, they were prompt, attentive and there were no surprises. The process I've gone through was about 70% online, 30% over the phone. I was a little apprehensive about it at first, but they made me feel completely comfortable. I sought who they were and did my homework on them. There was a good comfort level in the follow-up and dealing with the agents.

    They've been fair as far as asking for the standard information, getting the home appraised, running the credit report, and getting financial information. The rep that I had spoken to was professional, very informative and knowledgeable about the product, very intensive, and very on point in a timely manner. Whatever he said he was going to do, he did it very promptly. I also liked how he followed up and followed through.

    They were also able to answer all of my questions. For the loan that I was originally inquiring about when I started talking to them, they redirected me to a different loan which didn’t fit anymore because the percentage rate going through that particular program was lower. The initial bid to do the home inspection had to be redone because of the size of my house, meaning that the home inspector that had originally picked up on the job, wasn’t certified to inspect the house with square footage that I had. So, they had to reach out and find another inspector and it cost more but they incurred that cost. That cost was nowhere on my fact sheet.

    Everything closed on time and there was no snafus. And one of the things that I smiled about is that I have a personal acquaintance that has a title company and I was going to do my closing at his title company. HomeDirect said that they have a title company that is $400 cheaper. When I told my friend about it, he said that he would match the price. He got a hold of HomeDirect and worked with them at whatever they needed to get done and it was seamless. It didn't take 30 minutes to do it. I thought it was the best experience I've ever had doing something over the internet. I would tell others to go with HomeDirect.

    My HomeDirect Mortgage experience is a very long process. Had several issues along the way. Underwriters were horrible and very nitpicky about things that shouldn’t have been an issue. Still, already paid off the mortgage and a short term loan but now I’m hassling with them about my escrow money. They withheld something because my shed didn’t have siding on it but I’ve sided it since then and paid off the mortgage so it shouldn’t even matter. I did get a check but I don’t know what it’s for and I don’t think it’s complete because when I had to set up an escrow account for all the taxes and six months of insurances plus the $850 they withheld from that shed, the check I got was $805 with no explanation.

    Maybe there is a shortage which is fine but I would like to know so I called and called but nobody seems to help me. What they wrote on stub part of the check didn’t even make sense. They say, “Well, we’re not sure but you should have your money within, well…” And I got the check but is that it and if it is, why? Customer service hasn’t been great. I already paid off the loan so I’m probably not a very important customer. The process that should have taken 30 days took roughly four months for a very small loan. I don’t think they really wanted to do it. The whole process was very aggravating. They don’t have any information for me so I’m not even sure what my next move is.

    Jim, the loan officer, tried and did his best and was getting frustrated with the situation too. Their value is way and above and they weren’t risking anything. It’s a very small loan on a sound investment and the underwriters shouldn’t have withheld my money for siding on a shed. It was ridiculous to begin with. It just turned out to be a frustrating experience, so all in all not great.

    I worked with a few banks and couldn’t get a loan. I went to a website and HomeDirect Mortgage showed up as one of the organizations that was offering the loan. I went ahead with them and got a 30 year fixed VA loan for a new home purchase. The person that I worked with, Katie, and her assistant, Daniel, were awesome. The process was painful because I have to go through every aspect and detail of my life financially from the past year to get a loan. Katie and her team did a great job in making it as smooth as possible. There were no timing issues and they were rapid in getting back to me.

    Katie worked just as hard as I did throughout the entire process and towards the end, we were getting marathon sickness.     The threat of the interest rates going up as Trump took office pulled the trigger for me to refinance. Also, I got divorced a little while back and I wanted to get the ex off the paperwork.     I wanted to get the rates down as low as I could. My dad did all the research for me and he contacted a lot of people. He told me that HomeDirect Mortgage has the best rates and the people he spoke to were very courteous in giving him all the information. I went through the regular loan process where they asked documentation and I provided them and then there were regular updates about what was required and needed. Gathering all that information was perfectly fine but once that was done, there was a little bit of confusion regarding the PMI that was going to have to go on for a little while which I'm not used to. Also, they were going to have to establish an escrow account, which was something I was not used to either since I paid my taxes directly.

    We were finding our first home. We were browsing around and we applied for a mortgage when we saw a couple of houses that we’re interested in. We went on Zillow and looked up interest rates. HomeDirect was one of the top 3. The first one that had the lowest interest rate didn’t respond to us. When we filled out the application with HomeDirect, Jim called me within 30 minutes from the application. It amazed me because it was at night. That prompted us to go with him just to see how committed he was.

    Jim said he received our application and that he was going go through the application that night ‘till the next morning. He ended up calling me the next morning to let us know that we were pre-approved and the documentation that was needed. He called me a couple of days within the whole application, just making sure that we didn’t have any questions. We submitted all the documentation and he was clear with what steps were next during the whole process. We were new to the process with the home buying so we had no clue.     We found the house that we wanted to buy. We had applied online and HomeDirect Mortgage was one of the choices that we had, and they offered a rate increment that interested us. Our experience during the home loan process was really good. Their rep was helpful and responsive. He was very flexible because we were going to do a VA loan at first but the whole process was taking forever. So we switched midstream and just got a conventional 30-year loan. They didn’t like the terms on one of our loans but rather than dropping it, we just threw that in the mix and went ahead and refinanced that. He made it happen without bugging us down with the minutiae of the adding on the refinance. He took care of most of that without too much pain.

    It was a jumbo loan. It was just under $400,000, so it was not as easy for other lenders to take care of that. But there was no problem with HomeDirect. We closed on both in a timely manner. We got a loan and refinanced the other, and we were able to do what we needed to do. However, the mortgage payment has been probably one of the more challenging parts because the name keeps changing. I sent the first mortgage to Bank of Kansas, and then I had to switch and go back. And now, I changed all my online bill pay settings to HomeDirect Mortgage. But that’s the only issue. HomeDirect was professional, responsible, and efficient. I would recommend them.

    HomeDirect Mortgage ended up being the least expensive of all the ones that I talked to regarding a refinance. I went with them and the loan process was fairly smooth overall. I was a little hesitant at first because I didn't know them. I did some research and they're backed by a fairly large Bank of Oklahoma. I did the refinance to pay off various debts and I also took some cash back rather than paying my creditors directly. My biggest disappointment with the title company that HomeDirect chose was at the end of the process, they sent me checks totaling to a little over $100,000 to my home address with no signature or anything required.

    Other than that, I was fully satisfied with HomeDirect. I preferred to have communications via email and their rep worked with me in the way that I wanted and wasn't pushing to talk on a phone all the time. So, I was very comfortable with that. We had some good back and forth dialogue about some of the circumstances around my loan, and the debts and things that I wanted to pay off. She was able to work with me and I got what I wanted to do.     I got a VA from HomeDirect Mortgage. The loan process was really good and they were very efficient. I worked with Ryan and he was awesome. It took us about 2 months to do it, but from what I understand that’s not uncommon. Most of the problems were on my end, but he made it very easy to manage. The realtor said that he was good to work with. I went through credit approval. I had to have an appraisal and the home inspections and then the rest of it was waiting on some stuff to clear up on my end. The only holdup I had was a property lien against me that I didn’t know about from year over years ago and it probably wouldn’t have gone through, but it just happened to be 15 years old and it was expired. So, we got to go ahead and do it.

    HomeDirect Mortgage was patient. I had to straighten it up. There wasn’t anything really they could do to help. Our rep kept putting off the closing date so that it would go through.     I’m buying a new house so I shopped around and HomeDirect Mortgage had the best rates that I saw. Also, because of the ease of the process in terms of documentation and in the underwriting process, I went with them. I initially put in an inquiry on their website and was contacted almost immediately by one of their loan officers. We communicated over the phone as well as email. They were very clear about what different documentation they needed to put together an initial proposal and through the actual underwriting process itself. It was painless and seamless. The entire process took two months from starting to closing on the house. But when we actually started with HomeDirect to having all the approvals, that was honestly a matter of a few weeks if we didn't need to drag it out.

    The representative was an individual in one of their offices. He reached out right away and stayed in contact. He didn't bother me unnecessarily but would call to provide updates. Or if I had any questions, I could reach out to him. At the same time, a lot of things were done and transmitted over the internet or their website. There was a personal touch and he was responsive and accessible. We were not doing overly unnecessary steps to drag the process so, I really appreciated that.

    They were down-to-earth and explained things. It didn't feel like trying to pull anything fast and they were also knowledgeable.     The agent, Chad, was the friendliest and answered all of my silly questions. He was more available than anybody else. Chad made the process a lot easier. I’ve done a couple of other mortgages and it wasn't like pulling teeth with him. The loan process took a little bit longer but it was due on my end. The homeowners’ association filed a lien on the property for $16 worth of interest. It was completely stupid and it was from three years ago. Chad was very patient with it. He was understanding and helped me get that work through. As soon as that was done, the process went quickly.

    Originally, we were refinancing for a lower amount and then we did some home upgrades and went up to the full value on the house. My payments stayed about the same, but the interest rate changed.     I was buying a new house and was talking to a couple of companies, and Michael from HomeDirect, was the most knowledgeable about dealing with the VA and its process. I was talking to him and to about eight others, and chose him because I thought he was the best. Working with HomeDirect during the loan process was good and easy. The two reps were more than helpful and very knowledgeable. The only difficulty that we had was getting the bank satisfied. I had a lot of money in the bank that it had to be explained, and I really didn't appreciate that coming from the bank because all the money was accounted for where it came from. Michael was the only reason I stayed with them because he asked me to let him try to work with them and smooth things out, as I had called at one time and told them that I was done. If it weren't for Michael and his patience and open-mindedness, I would have just been done with it.

    I'm a customer service freak. The better the customer service is, the better they make me feel towards doing what I'm doing. Most of the time, he would call or email me and let me know this document is on the way, already there, or that it needs to be signed, and he would tell me how they need to get back to something as soon as possible, and ask me to look the documents over and give them back to them in a couple of days. It was very easy for me to do it electronically like that. Furthermore, Michael was always willing to go to the next step, answer a question, or try to find the problem and smooth things out between me and the bank. That's what I liked about him the most. I also appreciate the follow-up even after the process, where Michael still emailed me and congratulated me on the purchase of the new home.     My real estate agent recommended HomeDirect Mortgage. I wanted to buy a home and applied for a mortgage and HomeDirect had the better interest rate. I'm a first-time home buyer and they made my experience very pleasant. I contacted them first and then they contacted me after I sent out the initial request. The rep named Seth explained it ABC for me, like the experience of what I would have to do to go about getting the loan. The initial contact from the rep was cut and dry. He was straightforward. He told me how to apply for the loan, what he needed to have from me, and what I needed to know. I called him back when I got the information that he needed. However, I'm kinda confused with the First Bank of Omaha and Home Mortgage and I never knew who got the mortgage.     I had a refi with HomeDirect and got exactly what I wanted. Rates are the most important factor, but the representative, Tyler, was very responsive and not pushy. Their process is pretty typical in furnishing all of those documents that you need and follow-up, except that in the past I’ve done things with someone in person. So this was my first time doing everything over the phone or electronically. And because my spouse was international at that time and we had some extra documentation, it wasn’t all smooth but it was fine. Also, I’m in a different location and I found it super helpful that they had the notary come to my house. So all the documents were signed in my kitchen and I had no idea that that kind stuff existed. Overall, if they don’t have the lowest rates, I wouldn’t recommend them just for service.

    We were redoing our house and tried to get our payment down and consolidate. We chose HomeDirect Mortgage for the rate they were giving us. The agent we worked with was a great person to deal with. Considering where he’s located and the difference in time, his willingness to work with us late at night was impressive. He was really helpful and guided us through all the process. A lot of it was done through emails, e-docs and a thousand telephone calls. It took about a month and a half because the VA held us up a good bit. Getting the VA portion of the refinancing process was the most difficult. They were trying to get the proper paperwork and to verify everything to show that I was in the military.

    I had been transferred to a different facility than where the rest of the documentation is normally kept at when I was out. They contacted the VA directly on my behalf and helped get us through what paperwork we needed. There was one point in time where we got to the end of the process and the VA still hadn’t approved us for my VA loan. One question I had is why did I have to go ahead and pay for the appraisal when we didn’t know if I could get the loan yet or not? That process could be improved, making sure you can get the loan before you do the appraisal because then you’re out that money. HomeDirect helped me get my loan, and that was a good thing. My experience with them has been excellent. I recommend them highly.

    We were going to refinance our home to consolidate some loans. We found HomeDirect Mortgage on the internet and they had a competitive rate. Furthermore, we wanted to go with a VA mortgage because I'm a veteran and they handled VA mortgages, and not every company does that. While my loan took a little longer than usual, there were no delays on the part of the company and it was because of unique circumstances on my part.

    Kyle was our processor and he did a great job helping us get everything we needed done. He was very patient with us.     We got a fixed loan program for our new home from HomeDirect Mortgage. It was recommended by our realtor and we had a very good rapport with the representative Nate. They asked for information that we provided. Some of them requested information that we had already given. But they were very professional and fine.

    The procedures were exactly what we would have expected. The only hitch in the whole thing is having to do with the flood insurance. At this point, we have given bank information about flood insurance on three occasions. Each time, we got no letter back saying that they didn’t have enough information about it and that they were going to buy flood insurance on our behalf, and they charged us for it.     I was selling the house I was in, to move for my job so I applied for a mortgage. I did a search on the internet and I was looking for the lowest amount of closing points and based on the best rate, HomeDirect was able to lock in a very good one. The agent that I dealt with, Kerry, was excellent. He said that the bank-owned house I'm going to buy is going to be three times longer than I think and that they're going to stress me out with making demands at the last minute. He knew everything that was going to happen before it happened. A lot of it contradicted what my real estate agent was telling me but after six different occurrences, it became obvious that he knew what he was talking about but my real estate agent didn’t.

    The way the bank was constantly jerking us around, Kerry made it completely bearable in the process of going through the whole thing to know at least, what was coming up. If he wasn’t there to let me know what was going on and what to expect, it would’ve been a very horrible experience. Otherwise, I would’ve been fairly well-irritated and if the market wasn’t so rough, it went from a buyer’s market to a seller’s market overnight and I had almost nothing to choose from. I would’ve walked away from that deal months prior to closing on it. I have to give good customer service in my job so I demanded when it’s my money that’s on the line.

    I went with a VA loan program with HomeDirect for a new home that was built in the 50's but still in a good shape. They handled the loan process well. It was straightforward and it was just in one occurrence so it made it very simple. Everything was upfront. It was the bank that keeps me going back and forth. On the other hand, the VA portion and verifying my military history went very smoothly so there was no problem with that. That made it a whole lot easier as well. Whenever anything did arise, it was very quick and easy to provide whatever was asked. For the most part, everything was asked in one shot.

    HomeDirect made it absolutely wonderful for me to be able to afford the property because, at one point, Kelly said that normally, it costs $300 a week when I go beyond that rate lock to maintain and I can't afford that. However, he was able to get those additional fees suspended for me so that made it absolutely able to afford.     My present experience with HomeDirect Mortgage was great. My lending agent, Julie, made it very easy for me. She was great and she was always helpful. I had a lot of interactions with her, mostly through email or through text. She always responded immediately. When I send an email, I get a response most of the times within 10 minutes, but sometimes within the same day. I applied for a mortgage to buy a new home. I did the conventional loan. Their interest rate is very low compared to other lenders. The loan process is done online and phone and emails. I did not meet them personally but most of the process was done through emails as well as the online document package.

    HomeDirect Mortgage was always there. They had answered some questions regarding the PDFs and the other things and documentation from my side. They called my attorney and they took care of things with the attorney. That’s how it was less stressful for me because everything was told in advance. I was told what I would expect in the next phase and what do they need from me and what we'll be providing and what is the process for the next steps.

    Overall, it's been good so far. HomeDirect Mortgage has enabled me to purchase my home. I got the preapproval sometime in January, but the loan approval came through in Feb and we had closed everything on April 27. The rates are great. Probably one of the lowest I've seen because I got quotes from some of the lenders and they just kept to what they told. They mentioned that 100% they had an approval. They're always beyond what they would promise us.

    We bought our home a year and half ago and the mortgage company that I had prior to that kept raising my mortgage saying that it was escrow shortage. I would write them a check and then it would still go up and there was no communication. I was making my payments because it wasn’t the amount they thought it should be at that time. They withheld it and then looked at my payments that was supposed to go to the full amount at escrow into the principal. And then, whenever it came time to straighten it out, instead of pulling it out of principal, they pulled it out of the actual payment, then I was short. It was a nightmare. That went on for six months and I was done. So, I was looking for a more attentive and reputable company that could answer questions when I call and have better communication. Right before we signed the papers, the company that held the mortgage, knew that there was an issue and they called me and offered a cheaper interest rate. But they can’t beat the rate. So we went ahead and went through with the refinance.

    The representative was good. In fact, he’d still send me emails and update me on things. He was awesome. Working with HomeDirect Mortgage saved us $400 and not only that, I used to spend hours on the phone with the other mortgage company. In frustration, I would call them and I would get the representative. And it got to the point where I said, “I don’t want to talk to you. I want to talk to a manager.” And it would take about a week to get a manager to call me back. But so far, when I call HomeDirect, somebody answers the phone and there’s no issue. It was a good choice for our family and they worked very hard to help us get the best rate and locked it in for us. They did a great job and we’re very happy with that decision.     We were coming up on the end of our rental agreement and I recently retired from the military. We decided we were gonna stay in the area so we decided it was time to buy a house.     A few months ago, I reached out to mortgage companies to find out what I would qualify for. HomeDirect was the first one I tried. The process was pretty much on point with the information requested and everything was prompt. I wouldn’t go days without hearing about something and they would always keep me in the loop. The process was a pre-approval first of all. Then we got the pre-approval letters to go in and look at some properties within that range. We did that once we locked up with the property to let them know we were working with them then they started exchanging information. Real estate was involved so I was involved. And it was pretty much a back and forth process, providing all the documentation to get the final approval. But HomeDirect did a fantastic job during this process.

    There is a website that sends your information to a bunch of lenders and then all the lenders would submit offers. I placed my information on that website and within seconds, my phone started ringing. I talked to nine people and I went with the first one that called which is HomeDirect. They had the best numbers and their refinance have lower rates so I went with the 15-year fixed loan program. The loan process was good too. There were a lot of emails but everything was answered quickly by the loan officer and her assistant. There were issues with my roof which I had to get fixed too.     Bank of Kansas City which later on merged with HomeDirect had the lowest rates at that time as well as very preferential terms so I did the VA loan with them to pull money out for renovation. I got a call from one of their reps and we went over the loan details. She made the offer on the rate and gave me the quote of the closing cost. Then I received the other quotes and I decided on HomeDirect's. I liked that I got the best offer upfront from them. A lot of the lenders started with a crappy offer and basically had to get a competing offer.

    Also, the rep was extremely friendly. She wasn't pushy and the communication was really good. We talked on the phone frequently and exchanged emails. She seemed to know everything that was going to be required. She was motivated to make sure that we didn't miss any deadlines. She walked me through what the steps were and made sure I knew what paperwork had to be done and what the timelines were required on each piece of it. She also made sure that the lawyer was scheduled and she coordinated some paperwork issues. There were a couple of problems but she called ahead and worked along with us to make sure that everything happened. She made sure that the home inspection was taken care of and I finished the remaining paperwork. She did a great job in working with us.

    My wife and I have obtained two mortgages in the past two years through Matt ** at HomeDirect Mortgage - the first in Utah and the second in Florida. While neither transaction was completed without the occasional minor snag, we were extremely pleased overall. In the first case, we were six weeks into the process with Quicken Loans when they (QL) threw a monkey wrench into the machinery by refusing to work with the title company we had chosen. But instead of firing our title company, we fired QL and went looking for a more agreeable lender. After doing some quick research and reviewing a half-dozen new offers from other banks, we chose Home Direct and, thanks to their very generous lender credit, saved ourselves $6,300 off the deal QL had offered.     I got the conventional loan program from HomeDirect Mortgage. They weren't going to resell the mortgage so that's the certain amount of commitment and it wasn't the lowest interest rate but overall it was competitive. Their reps were helpful. We have frozen credits so part of the process was to unfreeze credits. They were calling me at all three credit reporting agencies. There were some problems during that but they were there for that. We're doing a For Sale by Owner and they were also there to provide support for all that stuff. The homeowner upset the first appraiser so they had to go get a second appraiser and HomeDirect worked with us to get that second appraisal in as fast as possible and get the approval so we could close within two weeks from the original date. Working with HomeDirect Mortgage impacted my life a lot to get the mortgage that we wanted to despite some curve balls that were thrown. I'd recommend them.

    We were renting a house from my parents and we decided to buy the home from them. We went on Zillow and looked at home mortgage rates we could get and shopped around for a little bit. The rate we could get with Bank of Oklahoma was the best and we got a 30-year first-time home buyer loan. This is my first time doing a home loan so neither myself nor my husband really knew much about home loans and we're relying on our parents and others to help guide us. So it was also really helpful that I could reach him to ask for some clarification. However, it felt like the longest process of him asking for another document and me sending it in, and then another document. It started with four documents and there were chunks of information. It would have been helpful in the start to have an entire timeline laid out of what documents would be requested at what time because that just rolled along as we went.

It was a little weird because the application didn't get read.     We bought a new house and did a 15-year loan with HomeDirect. My husband shopped around and HomeDirect gave us the best rate. Also, our rep, Sam, called us for any problem like if I didn’t sign something or if he needed extra documentation. I was a little stressed during the first 24 hours because he told us the rate he would give us was only good until the end of the day which was 6:00, but he called us back several times that day before we officially signed.     We bought a new house and we got the conventional loan from HomeDirect Morgage because they gave the best terms. We were happy with the outcome but there were a few glitches along the way. We were going to get a VA loan and about three weeks before we closed, HomeDirect came back and said they had made a mistake that it was going to be considered a refinance instead of a new purchase so the VA funding fee was going to be almost three times higher than they originally thought. So, we decided to go with a conventional loan. But they were great in terms of going back to the original lock-in date and giving us the conventional rate that was in effect at the time as opposed to the higher rate that we had started all over. So that was good.

    Then, there was an issue with the appraisal of this new construction custom house. We had a certificate of occupancy but the appraiser said that it wasn’t complete because there were some punch list items that delayed closing by about three weeks. It turned out there was some miscommunication between the appraiser and HomeDirect. But again, HomeDirect honored the original interest rate so it all worked out in the end but while we were going through it, it was getting frustrating. But HomeDirect was fine during the process and they communicated regularly. They also extended the lock-in each time and that was great.

    The rep was great, too. However, I had the impression that the rep didn’t have direct control over these issues. She was relying on other people in HomeDirect, certainly on the VA loan issue. She had gotten information from someone else initially that turned out to be incorrect and then on the appraisal, it was the same thing. It was only after we talked directly to the appraiser and realized that there was some miscommunication on the type of appraisal that he thought HomeDirect was asking for. But, the rep tried to help and tried to do the right thing. And In HomeDirect’s defense, the thing that caused the issue at least with the VA loan was that we owned the lot so they considered that a refinance instead of a new purchase. And they were not used to that.

    This is our third home that we purchased and we were just looking to move. I serve in the ministry in the city that we bought the home and we were a good 40 minutes away from them. In order to be more effective, we were compelled to move. We didn't want to go through the previous lender, not that it was bad, but we wanted to use a different option. Plus, I also took advantage of my VA loan. It just turned out to be that HomeDirect Mortgage was able to accommodate us really quite easily.

    The process was simply easy. The case manager, Lori, she was very thorough in helping us step-by-step through that process. Gathering information, as well as things that were needed to make sure we are qualified for and get pre-approval. That was the biggest thing. Once again, the VA certification part on the pre-approval came rather easy. And we just make sure we got all of our paperwork then. The only challenge that would make this somewhat cumbersome was not necessarily on HomeDirect Mortgage's part, but it was the seller of the home that we were purchasing, only because they had a lien on the home which held things up. But even with that, their willingness to follow up and thoroughness in processing everything made things very easy. So, whenever she needed something, we got it to her quickly and then the process kept moving.

    Our rep impressed us with her promptness and thoroughness. Anything she needed from us, she got that information too. So, there was really no delay in anything. HomeDirect Mortgage was very easy to use in regards to the clarity of information that was being provided. Any questions were answered with good layperson's terminology and not so much a lot of technical jargon. We were really impressed with how well they serviced. I would recommend HomeDirect Mortgage to anyone in regards to servicing needs.

    My sales rep from HomeDirect was good and I've been pleased. I really liked that during the mortgage funding process there were two points of contact. As always, they were on the same page about what was going on and what was needed. It was a very neat process. The only thing that was irritating was I thought they were going to hold the mortgage rather than sell it to Freddie Mac, but it's not a big deal. It took them a month before my loan was sold.

    We were purchasing a house and we availed of HomeDirect Mortgage's conventional loan. I liked their rating online and also their customer service when I spoke with a representative. The interaction was so personal and it was as if the location of the branch was here in New York City. I was skeptical at first to use a place over the internet, but the rep Chad was so personable. We had his cell phone number as well as the office number. Whenever we needed him or had a question, he was right on it. He responded to us so quickly through emails and phone calls.

    The process was very quick. We were so organized and we had everything available ‘cause we prepared before the loan. We could have closed in two and a half weeks, but it was the sellers who were holding up things ‘cause they didn’t expect the things to go so quickly. We had the modern technology of being able to use the fax machine that we had at home to scan things and send to him. We also didn’t have to present as many items as some other banks wanted. HomeDirect Mortgage was wonderful and they had great communication. There was always a nice paper trail of communication through emails which my daughter and I liked. Everyone was in the mix of everything. You saw that this person received the same information as you did. It was cc-ed to different people.

    HomeDirect has impacted our lives in that my daughter now has her dream house with their assistance. It was a great experience from the beginning to the end that I’ve already told other people that I know who are looking for loans to try HomeDirect, that they should not be afraid to utilize them even though they’re over the internet. You receive personal service, as if they’re located right up the street or right next door. They have great customer service and everything was explained to us. Chad even gave a little extra advice to be aware of certain things. I was afraid of the hidden cost ‘cause other places were saying not to believe those closing fees because they're gonna have a lot of other hidden costs. But the closing fees were just as Chad said.

    We had a second home and the rate, it's variable and was going up so, I wanted to consolidate the first and second with a lower rate. I put something on one of those purchase and said I was interested. I got tons of request and one of them was from HomeDirect. They were the most responsive and upfront and I went with them.

    The process was pretty simple. I provided them the documentation they needed and they really did everything from there. They were pretty speedy because my credit was pretty clean so, everything went very smoothly. Also, the rep was great and knowledgeable. She even contacted me. She's two hours ahead of me and it must have been pretty late at night. She talked to me and also talked on a weekend so, it looks like she was available at all different hours.     HomeDirect was a reference that I got from the realtor. I got a VA loan with them and everything was transparent process-wise. I had all the documentation except for a little snafu because I was working in Saudi Arabia so I had to reach out internationally to get a document. Also, there was a tax issue that they weren’t aware of so I had to pay out of pocket. It was about $2,000. People pay more than that though. Other than those, they delivered and were very professional. They were very friendly and offered one of the best deals. There was nothing hidden and everything was upfront. They asked my VA rating and waived the VA funding. The interest rate that we got locked in was good. The mortgage payment that they set for was very reasonable especially for what we bought.

    We already closed and have moved in though I haven't received the mortgage paperwork which will be coming from the title company. But so far, the experience was very good. I commend Brandon, his co-worker, and HomeDirect. Brandon kept in touch until the very end. Even after we closed, he reached out to see how we were doing. He was very familiar with the VA process and I was pretty happy with it. We’re first time home buyers and I thought it was going to be more difficult, but they made it less stressful than some of my friends who had bought homes.     We bought a new property and put this one on rent. It was on 5-1 ARM and we wanted to move it to 30 Fixed. That’s the reason we were looking to refinance so I went online, looked for vendors and found a few. I talked to all of them and found HomeDirect Mortgage were the best and also gave the best rate so I went with them. The person I was dealing, Derek, was professional compared to other people I was dealing with as well.

    The loan process was straightforward because I have gone on a loan process a few months ago for my primary home so I had all the documents ready and Derek had asked me for the right documents as well. The only issue I faced was someone who was working for him did not have proper understanding of what the cash-out loan is and she made a couple of mistakes but that is expected and it happens all the time. So including that, everything was smooth. I would definitely recommend HomeDirect Mortgage though once I received the first statement, it said that there's online registration that I could do but the link on the statement wasn’t correct.

    I purchased a house and everything went fine with HomeDirect when I applied for a mortgage. I had used Chad, the guy I dealt with years before on 3 different loan occasions, so I went back to him. He's good. I'll go with him whether he's with HomeDirect or he moves to Chase. That's how I have done business - find someone who I know works well. I like his personality and how he gets back quickly. I can call him on a Sunday afternoon, tell him I got some questions, and he will put an answer. So that's my number one - good communication to be able to get some answers quickly and make sure I understand how things are moving.

    However, I wish the web interface and everything were better and be a little easier to utilize with HomeDirect Mortgage versus Wells Fargo or Chase or other large banks which I have had loans with. HomeDirect does not work with some of my money management software like Mint or Answer It to update loan amounts. But as far as the experience with HomeDirect, it's been smooth. If Chad tells me it's gonna work out well, it's worked out well.

    I was getting a new house and HomeDirect Mortgage has the best rate for a VA loan. The loan process was mostly a lot of eDocs back and forth. And what I appreciated about them is they did not let anything sit or any document sit still. If they needed something, I immediately get it to them and then I got to them. Then, we have a pretty short time window to secure that loan and they are able to do it. The rep we talked to was very knowledgeable about the process. And obviously, had lots of experience. He referred me to another guy who took over my loan. It's his assistant and he was also very good. Always real polite, but in touch with me when he needed to and when he needed more documents. There's a ton of documents required for a VA these days. The good thing is we got it done in time.

    HomeDirect Mortgage were appropriately aggressive about getting the loan done. Working with them got me a much better loan than I would have otherwise. I was going with the local lender and I would have paid, literally, an entire point higher on my interest rate. I was also told that HomeDirect would be able to recast my loan if I paid a large amount the equities later, which I was planning to do when I sold my other house. My only disappointment was it turns out that that's not an option. So, that I can essentially recast the loan and get lower payments. I have to do six payments first. I'm not sure what happened to change that particular issue.

    We looked for VA benefits on the web and then, a number of lending institutions started contacting me. HomeDirect’s salesman was very polite but persistent. He kept calling back. So, we gave them a shot. Our deciding factor was it was the best deal. After they solicited us, we looked at multiple banks and what they were offering. They told us what they were offering in advance after getting very little information from us. Then, we applied at two banks. HomeDirect’s was one of them and we canceled the other one quickly. After the application, it took quite a while to get through the process and it was VA. So, we expected it to be a little harder. It was a 30-day process and there was never really any problem, except that there was a lot of missing documentation. The paperwork could have been handled much cleaner.

    There were a number of times when we were told that they got everything. Then, two days later, they don't have a certain document and in a lot of cases, we'd already sent it, but it had gotten confused with something else. So, I would be critical of the paperwork handling. Other than that, we had the highest regard for the mortgage broker, Dirk. We were wondering if he was just telling us something as a salesman but everything he said turned out to be true. The deal was made exactly as he said it would be way back in the beginning and we appreciated that. I recommend HomeDirect highly because everything turned out to be quite honest and direct. I would absolutely recommend people to look at whatever HomeDirect had to offer and go with them if they could.
