My wife did a lot of research and connected us with HomeDirect which works for BOK, which is where we got the 30-year VA loan from. We started talking to Kyle, a mortgage officer, and working out the details. Once we had established what we wanted to offer, we went and did that. We were told, “I haven’t received anything. Nothing’s happening for a week or two.” We were calling back and getting frustrated and explained to Kyle that he was not doing his job. He would continue to come back and say things that were arrogant and disrespectful. We’d rather that he came clean and went to his boss to ask for extra resources. We weren’t moving any faster.
We made phone calls towards the end and our broker towards HomeDirect, trying to get management. People were unavailable. We tried to push it up to supervisors, but we were told they were in meetings. We were told a lot of excuses and that certain company meetings were more important than us getting closer to closing. The response when they said that supervisors were involved was minimal. We had to communicate with the VA inspections, appraisals and then we had to dig up more information and deal with the VA to get to closing. All I had to do was get a hold of a representative at the VA and stick with it. The same thing for their provision of income on my part. We expected our loan officer should have been doing this, but wasn’t.
The only reason I allowed them to have our mortgage processed was because I was learning. Towards the end, I started making phone calls and had simple conversations with a couple of people and learned that HomeDirect wasn't on top of things. The things they said were being done weren't. The information has been moved forward and we got moved to closing within a couple of days. We would have closed two weeks, if not sooner than we did. The only reason I let it go was because this was the first time I did it. We left the process very frustrated and disappointed with the representative that we had. It seemed as if we were doing a lot of the legwork and we felt we were not treated right.
There were lots of emails and phone calls, but at the end of the day, what it took to move the closing process quicker was me making phone calls that HomeDirect said they were making and were on top of and able to do. We are where we are right now and that’s fine but we weren’t very satisfied with the primary person we were dealing because the time it took us to get through the process and get to closing was far beyond the timeframe we were expecting. We’ve been really busy, but I was gonna consider at least following through some formal complaint processes also because it was very frustrating. It’s a big deal for us to get into our first home, so we have to follow up.
Benjamin I apologize for your experience as that is not typical for our company. I am glad in the end we were able to get you taken care of. If you need any further follow up please feel free to respond back.

I applied for a mortgage for the low refinance rate and to get some cash out, and I liked HomeDirect's percentage rate and the closing cost. I dealt with Matt who was very helpful and honest to open up for us on the phone. I felt comfortable talking to him, and he answered all my questions quickly and accurately. It was a pretty painless refinance. I got the cash I needed to pay off my vehicle loans and lower my overall monthly debt. So it worked good. I'm pretty happy with the experience and I would recommend HomeDirect.

Because of the rate, I selected HomeDirect Mortgage for a new home purchase. Dealing with their reps was a hit or miss. I got passed around to a couple of people and in the end, I was dealing with four different people. And that's where a lot of miscommunications kind of came from but the last guy that essentially got the mortgage done for us absolutely knocked that out of the park. Also, it was a little frustrating compared to other lenders that I've previously gone through. There were a couple of points where I had to submit the same document multiple times because it was either a communication error internal to the company or something didn't go through. But for the most part, they were good. In the end, the job got done and I'm thrilled with the end products. We got the house so it worked out.

We were moving, needed a mortgage, and we went with HomeDirect Mortgage. The loan process worked great and we were initially interested in them because of the rates. But then, we had a couple of properties that fell through so the process ended up ongoing for over a year and we worked with their own people quite a bit over that year. They provided great service so we ended up sticking with them the whole way. We worked with Kyle and his customer service was impeccable the entire time. He had plenty of patience with us, educated us in the process, and was pleasant to work with the entire time. Working with HomeDirect Mortgage has made our home buying process easier and streamlined, and we appreciated that.

HomeDirect made my refi very simple and easy. They pretty much took care of everything. I had an adjustable interest rate that kept going up and I had two loans. I wanted to combine them into one at a fixed rate and I wanted to do a 15-year instead of a 30-year so I applied to refinance my mortgage. I contacted a few other mortgage lenders, but HomeDirect Mortgage had the lowest interest rate and they seemed most ready to get something done.
Their rep named Juliet handled everything on her end. So, there was no heavy lifting on my part. I only sent in a few documents and waited for the paperwork to be done. Then when we had to close, someone was over with the documents and we just closed on the house. The interactions I've had with her was mostly via text message and email. She was very friendly, accommodating, prompt, and was always responsive when I sent her a message. If I had a question, she was always on top of it and she contacted me to let me know if there were any issues. She was always available and accessible, even on weekends and that was pretty impressive.
With the refinance, things are more in order now. Everything is straight and it's set for the next 13 years. I'm not worrying about my mortgage, if my payments are going up, or if I'm gonna afford it because now I can. They took my two existing loans, combined them, and made them more manageable. So, I'm only dealing with one company. It's a big peace of mind, thanks to HomeDirect and what they've done. I should have done it a long time ago. I would definitely use them again if an opportunity comes up. It was one of the best experiences I've ever had, dealing with any type of business. I had some co-workers who were looking at possibly refinancing. I told them to give HomeDirect a call and they'll help them out.

I got a VA loan for a new home from HomeDirect Mortgage. I had shopped around and HomeDirect offered the best rate and no one compared. The loan officer, Noah, made the process extremely easy and he was thorough enough to know how to do his job properly. Originally, I was going through somebody else with HomeDirect but they didn't call me back for that weekend. But, Noah called me back right away. From there, I sent all my paperwork like the tax returns, bank statements, and track of all my financial in and we got to work.
I started in January because I was looking at some homes that didn't go through because it turned out they didn't accept VA. I had one home where I was in escrow and they backed out because of the appraisal. And then there's another one where there were inspection issues. Finally, in the third one, it went through. It was seamless and I didn't run into any problems at all. Everything is in order. I got my own house and it's going to help me be more effective 'cause I'm closer to work. Also, I got the interest rate that I wanted. The closing cost and the VA finance fee was also covered and I have all my money left over. HomeDirect is wonderful.

HomeDirect was able to offer my brother a very good rate two years ago when he bought a house and it was referred to me. A lot of times, loan officers don’t like it when you say you're thinking about their rates and that you're going to shop around. One time, I told my HomeDirect Mortgage loan officer that and she said that it’s totally fine and to let her know what they could do for me. She said they want my business, they believe they have the lowest rate and that they can try everything I need. I originally didn’t have the time to shop around for a mortgage for a new home purchase but I did a really quick internet search and I still went back to them because they’re right. Their rate is low.
I got a VA loan and the process was pretty straightforward and painless. The only thing that I’m concerned about for a consumer getting a loan is how the rates are versus other lenders, as well as looking at some various promotions that they might have such as lender’s credit. To be honest, if their rate wasn’t the lowest, I still would have given my business to them. People have industries to earn money and if they have the right attitude and they provide the right customer service, you don’t want to squeeze them ‘til they’re completely dry. And as a business owner in the past, I don’t believe in that.
The loan process within this transaction has been one of the most successful as opposed to the actual buying process with the agent and the sellers and there are no complaints about that. One of the good things about working with my loan officer from HomeDirect Mortgage is that she understands that not everything is within my span of control. She is very nice and she presented me with the various options of the loan packages that she can offer as far as wanting to use the VA loan. She also coordinated everything very well and provided all the paperwork that agents and escrow company need. Sometimes, they need to put themselves in other people’s shoes to really understand. It’s not to their own advantage and not to think of whatever’s benefiting them rather than what is right for the customer.
The experience has been great. I’ve been looking for the past two years and there are some instances where I was looking then stopped but never once did they complain about doing the work for me, presenting me with the loan building and the loan packages. It might have been a pain for some people sometimes when they’re creating all these files and putting all these paperwork together and you don’t go through with it. I was moving around the country and up until the end, I still stick with them because they’re still willing to help me. That relationship is hard to come by these days where they're trying to earn your business but some people just don’t have the right composure. Also, their expertise and service were excellent and I would definitely refer my colleagues or friends to them.

The last home that I bought was with another Realtor and she recommended HomeDirect. Now that I’m buying a new one I went with her recommendation. I bought the house and they contacted me with all the information that they needed to make the loan and get it approved by the underwriter. It took me a while and it was a month and a half of going back and forth and signing but I eventually got there and it was on time. I got the good rate and they kept it locked in for me. They were straightforward, upfront and good with follow-up. They were also friendly and communicated well and I would absolutely recommend them.

HomeDirect Mortgage is a direct lender and they’ve met all of our expectations. The loan process was very easy and it took Home Direct just a couple of days to get the loan approved. But my previous mortgage company have paid somebody else’s property taxes so it took me over a month to get that resolved before we can actually close. I sent the loan agent some documents and some income verification. I also sent him copies of our driver’s license and basically closed and then we had to e-sign some documents that he had me went through our title company that we chose, and closed with them.
We worked with our rep most of the time through email and he was very responsive. He was very courteous when I talked to him a couple of times on the phone and he helped me out with all the questions that I had. I was impressed with his knowledge and he’s given us options that would actually save us money on our payment as well. He definitely knows his product and has the consumer's best interest in mind.
So far, I’m happy with HomeDirect Mortgage. They seem to be on the ball. Their closing department seems to know everything that was needed. They got the loan pushed through very quickly without any issues. There were no mistakes on any of the paperwork as opposed to the other loan that we had before in the one that I just paid off.

We wanted to pay off some bills. We needed a tax write-off and we figured it would be beneficial to put out some of the equity in our house. It's the first time I've ever had a mortgage so I didn't know much about it but Matthew, the gentleman I was dealing with, informed me about the credit that they give you for certain type of loans and about the bankruptcy, too. He always had an answer to every question that I had and if he didn't have an answer, he was able to let me know he would get back to me once he found that answer then he always did.
I couldn't really close until certain due date because there is a four-hour mandatory rule when it comes to filing a Chapter 7. The process was started and Matthew didn't submit my paperwork until it was after that time. So I made the process go by a lot smoother and faster because I had a lot of paperwork I had to give them anyway. So it gave me time to give everything he needed. He didn't wait for the next person to contact me.
He handled the first part and then we have the appraisal, we had the adjustor - there were so many different people involved. He was always the one that contacted me to let me know what they needed. At the same time, their people contacted me too but he always kept me abreast of what's going on and I was always ahead of the game. When it came the time to submit the paperwork, he submitted it and everything went through. We had the appraisal come in and everything was very smooth. They're honest, trustworthy and that's something to really look forward when it comes to your home.

I was trying to refinance to take out some equity to build a pool at my house. My mother had just refinanced her home using HomeDirect and recommended the company to me. The loan process went pretty smoothly. Most of the communication was done through emails and it just went really fast. I filled out the application, emailed my W-2's for last year and for 2015 and two pay stubs to my loan consultant, and gave my statement for my mortgage that I had at the time. The rep kept me informed through email at what stage we were at and how much longer to expect till closing. I spoke to her just a couple of times 'cause I had problems once with filling out one of the forms and attaching it back to the email, so she explained to me how to do it. She seemed really sincere and honest and that was one of the things that my mom liked about her too.
A lot of times in this industry you don't really find that quality and people. People don't disclose everything till the last minute and you end up paying more than what you originally thought you were going to pay. But I'm really happy we went through this process. It's definitely been happy moments for us 'cause our pool is being built and everything's on schedule. HomeDirect is efficient and it's been a really positive experience.

It was time to buy a house and I was applying for a VA loan. The website I used came up with the lowest rate from multiple offers and companies. And the loan agent from HomeDirect was very responsive. Initially, I sent out some emails and asked questions: closing times, information required, if they provided VA loans, if they had a float period or a lock-in date, and closing procedures.
My mortgage officer was Ryan and he provided phenomenal service. He answered all the questions in a timely fashion and was very thorough with his answers. If the training is consistent across the company, then I would assume that all the other mortgage officers would be the same way. And I have used Navy Federal, USAA, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. And this one was absolutely the smoothest to process. I don't know if its more of a function of the fact that I knew all the questions and I knew all the information they're gonna need, or if it was just the fact that when I provided the information, it wasn't questioned. It was just accepted and taken in. Also, there were no hidden fees. Nothing jumped up and bit me. There were no scares at all, especially as we got closer and closer to closing time.

I worked with HomeDirect's account manager, Matt, before and I reached out to him and told him what my strategy was. I was selling my house and purchase another house. Matt was able to very quickly respond to me in terms of the way they ran and the right map to get us through the things that I wanted to achieve. At that point, he corresponded with VA, he got my certificate of eligibility squared away. But there was a component for that and this is where Matt just goes above and beyond.
The VA had not updated my disability status which makes me exempt from the VA funding fee which is a pretty sizable chunk of money. Matt worked with the VA directly to help them get my paperwork updated. He took the mission on himself which was awesome. And then from there, I needed the CRE. We had the CRE in place, I sold the other house. This worked out a little dicey. The VA appraisal on the inbound house, the purchased house came in a little bit low. So, we backed out of that deal, found another house. At that point my rate lock-in expired and the rates had gone up.
Matt was able to secure me a really good rate, right back where I was the first time. So, once again, he went above and beyond to help his customers and that's pretty notable. And then from there, it's straightforward. He ordered the appraisals on the second house. The contractor accepted the appraisals, went to quotes, and he called me afterwards to check on things to make sure the thing was smooth, which he did. We had a settlement, all paperwork was in order and everything was perfect. Now, I have a house. HomeDirect Mortgage, in general, has the support pillars in place, making the experience good. Chad asked for all the documentation so that was pretty painless and we got all that through. Then we had to wait for the home to be finished being built so he was pushing on the longest process and that was getting the VA appraiser on site, but that was pretty much out of his hands. He would call or email me if there were any issues. He's very personable and got good communication. It seemed like he really cared about my family and my kids. They also set up everything for the inspections and scheduling the closing. They were very responsive and the process went pretty smooth. I ended up going for a 15-year term instead of a 30, which is another goal. I will highly recommend them.

We got an FHA loan with HomeDirect Mortgage for a new home because there was a good referral from my father who's done business with them a few times. Also, I was getting a better interest rate with them and I was very impressed about it. The loan process, for the most part, was pretty smooth and very interactive. The representatives I dealt with were very helpful and informative. All my questions were always answered and they were very prompt as far as getting a response back. They were very on top of things and I felt very comfortable providing everything that they needed during business with them. HomeDirect is one of the better, reputable and trustworthy companies that I've spoken to. It was a big debt of my life and end to a new chapter, and I'm very grateful for everyone who played a part to help me achieve that. Overall, the experience was really smooth and I would definitely recommend them.

I went through a really bad divorce and walked away with nothing. I had to get a home and to do that I got a VA loan from HomeDirect. I went through Lending Tree, they responded to my request in under five minutes and they had the best interest rate by more than a percent of any of the other companies. Also, the people I dealt with answered every question I owned within minutes. And every time I needed something, I call them and they'd pick up immediately which everybody thought was awesome. They took care of all the paperwork, I signed what they told me to and after that, I didn't have a whole lot to do with securing the loan. It didn't take them more than an hour to get anything back to me and it was ridiculous how fast everything was.
Everybody told me all these nightmares about getting a mortgage but HomeDirect was really good and I had no problems at all. Now I got a beautiful home and I got it with lower stress than my stressed times. I recommended them to all the people I know. And if people would ask me about HomeDirect, I would tell them how things went for me and give them contact information because all was great.

We were financially in a position to afford a new home and we personally knew the loan officer at HomeDirect Mortgage. The loan process was extremely easy. The officer requested a series of documents from us. We supplied those documents, and we were pre-approved shortly thereafter. And then after we had chosen a home, he asked for some additional documentation for us. He said that we were fairly straightforward and we didn't have any problems getting approved, so it wasn't extremely complicated or as challenging as we originally thought it might be.
We did have a couple of questions throughout the process and it was just nice to be able to give him a call after-hours, so it wasn't something that we were doing while we were at work, and we could deal with it in the evenings. It was a very smooth process and we were very appreciative. It was a little bit more personal than just dealing with a local bank or something to that effect. We were given excellent service and we had a great experience. I would definitely recommend them.

I was looking at a new home in Oregon and HomeDirect Mortgage had the lowest APR among the five companies I looked through so I ended up going with their VA loan program. Their loan form was easy to electronically sign and any questions I had were promptly answered. I mostly dealt with Ryan. We had great communication and he really helped me out and got me through some hurdles because I got hold up with the appraisal. Their level of expertise and the quality of service I received were outstanding so I'm going to refer them to anybody that have purchased a home as well. They're the best ones I've dealt with.

My wife had seen a house that she liked so we got an FHA loan program from HomeDirect Mortgage. The first part of the loan process was good and I worked with a guy named Tyson. He was really professional. Every time I had anything that I needed or had questions, he got back with me. He responds to all of my emails, made everything organized, and knew what program I needed. He let me know the different rates right up front and gave me what the prices and rates were going to be. When the issues came about, he found a way to work through the issue and worked with his manager to get everything done as soon as possible.
Tyson worked out Bank of Kansas City because I had a tax lien that I didn’t know about or thought I was done with. I wish I had known ahead of time that that was an issue but I only found out a week-and-a-half before closing. But besides that, everything was good. HomeDirect worked with me with the tax lien and we got everything done. It was a little rush to get everything I need to get taken care of but everything was really pleasant. Now, I got the house and I live in the area that I wanted to be at, with a lower down payment. It was a positive experience and I would recommend HomeDirect Mortgage.
Reviewed May 2, 2017
I do the house finances and I wanted to be able to take advantage of a lower interest rate and get it on the fix. And also come with potentially some available financing to pay down some expenses. It seemed like the right time. I refinanced and my conditions were to leverage the VA mortgage of whatever VA benefits because both my husband and I are retired military. We laid out the conditions and interest that we want to leverage that, take advantage of the lower interest rate, refinance, end up with some cash that might be able to pay down some things. They were able to marry up the options quite nicely.
I put out some filler and it exploded the reaction from people that have similar services. I had started with somebody initially and wanted someone to work with that would first educate me while I’m also trying to make good choices based on the information on options I was given. What was important to me is working with somebody that really was going to hold my hand but at the same time leave the different decisions in my hand, not be too pushy, really indicate they’re listening to me and not just try to give me their best program that they’re perhaps being pushed to promote.
Any first choice is probably unwise only because they are the ones that unfortunately are helping you cut your keys on knowledge. Not staying with the first one I worked with was not so much about that he wasn’t good enough. It was that I had to first come up to speak. I had to be a smarter and more informed consumer and I didn’t always ask intelligent questions. I don’t want to ever say he didn’t give me what I needed to hear when I didn’t know what I needed to hear. I think he did a bang-up job of trying to assemble the right information for me but there were certain information that seemed inaccurate. There’s a lot of details in what is needed to use the VA benefits and then what it is that can sometimes come forward from lenders.
Where that variability occurs is another reason why I was interested and with the second one from HomeDirect, it seemed to be a more productive conversation because I was more informed. I knew a lot more about when something was referenced which initially, I didn’t have any clue what they were talking about. By the time the second contact came, I was much more snappy, able to apply it in the right way and truly understand the answer because sometimes the first guy would give an answer saying he was sure it was exactly right and accurate but it was perhaps not as well received. I didn’t have what I did. The first experience was not bad but the second one was able to offer more latitude from the lender. Sometimes what they can do internally to entice you to stay with them is the lender credit. That was relevant, very helpful and it impacted the bottom line.
The other thing I like about HomeDirect is that as we were going through it, they had a way to give me an intuitive way to improve circumstances. I worked with them in two ways and it was based on that influence. They said then that I could probably go with the lower interest rate and even lower than I did at the first structure but there’s trade off. He educated me on the trade off and said I had to pay up a pretty hefty VA mortgage but that after that, once I have six months’ worth of mortgage payment at my belt, I can go in and I'm eligible to refinance again. Obviously, not paying that initial thing because it's upfront and all those closing costs are not negligible but they’re certainly much reasonable and I can take advantage of then a lower interest rate.
Exactly what she seemed to indicate would be something that I might want to take advantage of turned out to be just that. I went and six months later, he followed through with his intent to call me after I become re-eligible. It was another experience that was much more streamline obviously because they were able to re-use all the information I had given in the first place. That allowed for the application for the lower interest rate and that went really quickly and smoothly just like he said. Everything turned out just the way it was.
Now, in the process of assembling all the detail, I’m pretty organized with what has to be made available. The assembly is always important in what he had available as a backup person for whenever he isn’t as available as I’d want which was another key thing, there’s always a backup person. I found that very helpful. And then, if I was getting late on what was necessary to come from me, their follow up was very relevant and it was professional.
My husband and I are in a joint account and each one of us would receive documents online. If you don’t do the online then they would have to call through by lengthening the package in the mail. Sometimes I'd get two packages, one to my husband and one to me. I think the process could be improved because if we’re joint and we can’t stay and be approved for such a loan unless we're joint, they seem to be overkill for me. I’m handling double of everything. Being able to distinguish what comes in the mail one day and then on the heels of that was in two days, it wouldn’t be initially unusual to get another package.
There was one point where I’m thinking that because we took care of something based on a recent contact, that was okay but I wasn’t. There really was a lost intent of a previous communication. So every once in a while, I'm signing off and just accept and then sometimes I’m signing off to continue the process. Their concern is to make sure we don’t bypass the deadline.
I thought they handled the process of support and hand holding. Clearly they had a process and they had a sustainment and resources to make sure the process was carried out. They were very open to describing the distinctions but they were obviously very aware that I want the best deal and program. I said I can either ask them or they can know that I’m still in parallel talking with certain people lying to entice their way to make sure that I’m first of all, as educated and fully informed about all these ins and outs in all these programs.
But you’d learn that the way which they’re trying to entice you is sometimes confusing and it comes across as if you’re going to be helped. The way some of these things get communicated is almost like an art because it makes me feel like if I don’t do that, something bad will happen and I’m going to be liable. There’s an art occurring that the way they pick up the phone and follow through is sometimes motivating us here. I didn’t like that and now I know that was any way at all part of the HomeDirect experience.
A lot of questions occurred when I had to go through this and made me think why I had it. I had a lot of circumstances I wanted to achieve and have established. I have a better mortgage and I don’t have the fear looming that something that doesn’t feel right is about to occur. All of that is done and behind me. And at this point, I’m more informed so I think I did a very responsible thing and it did take care of some other costs. When one doesn’t have those other burdens, it’s a big relief, it feels like one can tackle anything. It propels a person to be more responsible and execute more refinement to other parts of that budget and the finance.

They were consistently engaged with me to make sure I knew what to expect and when I needed to provide appropriate documentation. Everything seemed very seamless and I'm very happy with the service provided. HomeDirect also offered the best rates and they service most of their own loans which is comforting to buyers. The only critique I have is that some documentation requirements seem a bit skewed. If a transcript is needed as part of the process, either allow unofficial transcripts or require the official transcript be provided to the loan officer by the institution producing the record. Also, in the event where a degree was awarded, the transcript will reflect that. The actual diploma should not be required as it is no more official than an unofficial transcript.

At first I had another mortgage company. Then I reached out to HomeDirect because a friend had used them. They gave me outstanding interest rate and there was a VA. I had excellent dealing with them. As a matter of fact, when I went to my title company, they thought it was a mistake and even called HomeDirect on their own because they didn't believe that the interest could be so low for the VA right now.
Moreover, the loan process was a piece of cake considering the other mortgages that I've been through which have never been that easy. I emailed the required documents and a couple of more things to HomeDirect and they communicated really well with me. Usually they'd send me the document then they'd call me. The communicators didn't overdo or underdo it and their rep answered all my questions. My wife's a Realtor, so any questions that we would bring to him were pretty complicated, but he got through. Also, it is cheaper to go through them and it saved me some money. So I'll be recommending them to others.

He pretty much ensured that I was gonna have the rate I wanted, which was the same rate I had currently on my initial loan. They worked with me. They went back and forth in a couple of respects but in the end, it was resolved, which is what we all wanted. They saved me money. It's a good company to go through to help with a refinance.

We were shopping around for a new home and I needed a quote for a mortgage, so I decided to shop around for a lender as well. One of my older buddies, who has gone through 12 houses in 20 years and has used HomeDirect multiple times before, had a lot of previous experience working with Ryan. He said that Ryan gets the job done and he gave me Ryan's contact information. So, I gave Ryan a call and let him know that I was shopping around for a lender.
As it turned out, HomeDirect had one of the most competitive rates and they gave me direct information versus just the stuff that sales people who give quotes tell prospective customers to get them interested in their company. After having to go through the verbiage that sales people try to sell them on why they should go with their company, customers often find out that a lot of it are stretched truths. However, Ryan gave me the straight shot at everything and that, for me, goes a long way because it was my first time applying for a mortgage, and having to go through the black and white myself would be very stressful. It was real easy to work with Ryan and I liked him. There was one incident where he and I had weren't on the same page, but when I brought that to his attention, he went back to the issue and fixed it, and made sure we were on the right page at that point.
I actually had my own guy that I was considering going with, and that was the biggest competition that HomeDirect had. But what it came down to was that HomeDirect was able to give me a much better quote than that guy could provide. He told me, "If this guy's legit, then you need to go with him because I can't do any better than what I'm doing." Working with HomeDirect has affected my life tremendously.
I'm paying HomeDirect monthly and I'm interested in setting up an automatic payment to come out of my bank account. This month was my first month for making the payment. I paid over the phone, which is very convenient, because my payment went out of my bank not more than a day or two later but it was reflected in my account that it came out the minute I made the phone call, which is awesome because it was actually the day that the payment was due for the first time, so I enjoyed that. I would absolutely recommend HomeDirect to a friend. I would recommend Ryan because he's doing a great job. I'd recommend. HomeDirect Mortgage as well for having provided Ryan with the ability to give me a good quote.

At the time that I applied, I had three mortgages and I wanted to consolidate them all down to one and see what I could do with payments. I went online, filled up a basic application and I started getting phone calls. I had barely clicked the submit button and Quicken Loans was on the phone. I've dealt with Quicken in the past. I've had a loan through them and they're one of the first that sells my loan to somebody else almost immediately. I don't think I had made the first payment yet when they did I didn't feel like staying and going back to Quicken Loans. They offered me decent rates but I started getting two or three back to back phone calls from people and they were hounding. That gave the impression that I'm dealing with an agency that one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing. So, I shied away from all of those.
It came down to HomeDirect and one other agency. When I talked to the girl from the other agency and told her who I was looking at, she said that if I were gonna lose my business, she would assume it was to HomeDirect. A competitor spoke very highly of HomeDirect. Part of what drew me to them was that a very high percentage of loans that originate with them and stay with them. Then, it will get sold off on the market and I get handed around half a dozen different companies. That's a big piece for me and I've gotten that hand off before. I told the girl from the other institution and she said she can't make that statement. Also, they were shooting me the best rate that was, at one point, almost as much as a quarter of a percent. They were better than anybody else.
I walked through some stuff on the telephone and we did everything else electronically right up until the closing. Like everybody else, they were prepared to send someone to my house to close and that would have been fine, but I was gonna be in the Kansas City area. I only live two hours out of Kansas City and I said to come there in Kansas City. They said it's not normally how they do it but that it would work so, we closed right there in the office in Kansas City. Kent, the agent in Kansas City we worked with, seemed very upfront and honest.
There are things that could be improved upon with anything. There were a few weeks through the course of the loan probably three different times that I got emails where my first reaction was thinking why is it any of their business like when we took some money out of IRA in order to knock down one of my credit cards, so that I can afford to cover the cost of the appraisal. As soon as I send in my paperwork showing them the statements from the bank accounts, I got an email back asking where that money came from. I thought that was pushy and rude. Why is it any of their business where I came up with the money to put into my checking account so that I could pay our credit card down? I've spoken to them about it and the response I get back is that the VA wants that information. I understand all of that when you're working with somebody like the VA and the government but I still wonder why.
I have all three mortgages now wrapped into one and the payment on that one is the same as my primary was. It's within a few dollars of what I was paying on my first one. It stretched it back out to 30 years again. I was probably down about 24 or 25 years but it got my payment down to what I can handle. It had gotten to the point with the interest rates starting to climb again and the insurance. It was starting to get to where I was having difficulty and my wife lost her job. We were getting to the point where we were having a hard time making payments and I was making three mortgage payments. With the refi, it dropped me down to one payment and saves me about $800 a month.

I was looking to buy a house. I went on LendingTree and HomeDirect was one of the first companies to contact me, and their rate looked good. Also, they were willing to do a second VA loan, while other lenders I talked to didn't want to do that. I applied for a mortgage and got a VA loan from them. One thing that I liked about HomeDirect was that whenever I called, they usually answered or called me right back and they were quick to respond to emails, whereas in my experience with a national and bigger lender like USAA, every time I called I always got a voicemail. Sometimes I'd have to wait awhile for USAA to call me back, and whenever I have deadlines, it's really helpful to have fast turnaround on communication.
The representatives were helpful and very hands-on. The only thing that I was getting a little bit annoyed with was that it was my loan, and it's going to get back to me one way or another, so I wanted to be clued in on what's going on and copied in on the emails. But sometimes, when my realtor and I would send the rep an email, the rep wouldn't reply to me at all, but only to my realtor, and this happened several times. Sometimes, there were questions I had that I didn't really feel were answered, and I was kept in the dark. But that was the only thing that rubbed me the wrong way with them, and everything else was great.
My transaction with HomeDirect was complicated, so there were a lot of phone calls and emails and the process was very stressful. We run into a lot of issues that don't usually come up in a normal transaction, and the reps would certainly have been annoyed with me, but they did their best. The loan officer probably got tired of hearing from me, but he did a good job. The main thing that I cared about was performance and he got the deal done and I have my house now.

I was satisfied with the service but would have rated the experience higher if not for two issues. We built a new house on a lot we already owned and initially applied for a VA loan. We were quoted the terms, including a VA funding fee of $4,375. After filling out innumerable VA forms and asking our builder to do the same, we were told that since we owned the lot, the transaction was considered a refinance and the VA funding fee would be $11,500. That was within a few weeks of closing. The good news is that HomeDirect gave us a conventional loan option based on the interest rate in effect when we originally locked in our VA rate so the increase in the payment amount was minor.
The second issue was confusion on the appraisal, which delayed closing by nearly three weeks. There was confusion between HomeDirect and the appraiser about the type of appraisal needed, i.e. "As Is" or "Complete". We received a Certificate of Occupancy and moved into the house but the appraiser said it wasn't complete because there were punch list items. It was only after I talked to the appraiser that I realized there was confusion and the issue was resolved. HomeDirect extended the interest rate lock-in period twice to accommodate the delay, so the delay didn't cost us anything except frustration. While its administrative procedures need to be improved, I applaud HomeDirect for standing by its original commitment.

Your bank paid my homeowners policy in error and when I called the situation was further compounded when the customer service rep explained that I was wrong and then went on to give me a bunch of bad information. When your bank figured out the problem and left me a message that I was correct, they added I should get in touch with my insurance company to straighten it out.
I received a call on 3/14 stating payment was not received and I would be charged a late fee. I allowed your bank to take a payment direct from my checking account. I found out later that day that the payment was made on 3/7 and received by your bank on 3/11 mailing the phone call and withdrawal unnecessary. I received an e-mail on Friday 4/7/2017 indicating my automatic payment would be withdrawn from my account with 24 hours. The rate was so low I thought it was a scam. Not only was it not a scam, HomeDirect was fantastic to work with. This was my first home purchase and Matt ** answered all my questions quickly and professionally. We closed on time and I saved myself a LOT of money. Great lender.

A friend of mine out of Maryland told me to try out Nate at HomeDirect. I was a little skeptical at first trying a bank out of state but my my was I wrong. I had rates from multiple different banks ranging in interest rates but once I talked to Nate he blew their rates out of the water! For a 30 yr mortgage with HomeDirect I was offered a lower rate than the 15 yr with all of the other banks I had gotten quotes from! The other lender I was talking to actually told me "buyer beware" because she thought it sounded impossible looking at the current day's going market rates.
The service was impeccable too. Whenever I needed to contact Nate he responded promptly and was very intelligible. They serviced my loan quickly and got me to closing on time in light of multiple delays with my employment verification and the home's appraisal. All in all I would recommend HomeDirect to anyone buying a house! Contact Nate at HomeDirect. You will not be disappointed!

Mathew ** was a fantastic loan officer to help facilitate a smooth, well-informed home loan process. His communication was primarily through email and responded quickly and accurately. We were able to close 2.5 weeks early without any issues. We secured a great rate too! I would highly recommend!

Chad ** has been my mortgage banker for my last three refinances. As always, it couldn't have gone better. Chad is a great communicator. He always takes time to make sure I understand the numbers. And I always feel like he is looking out for me. The closing costs were reasonable, and the interest rate is rock bottom. Was happy with how quick and easy the process was. Would work with Chad again, and have recommended him to several friends.

Lori's rates sound too good to be true, but they're legit! Best mortgage experience I've ever had and best I've ever heard! No one in the country can beat her rates and customer service! You won't be disappointed. Get locked in quick and tell all your friends!

I compared HomeDirect to the other two lenders I was looking at and HomeDirect was more competitive. They offered the same interest-wise, but when it all comes down to services, HomeDirect was better. I purchased a new home and the only program I was eligible for was the VA program. All I had to do was meet their qualifications to get it and that was it. The lender, Nate, and I were able to be on a first name basis and with him being on the phone, we made each other felt like we knew each other on a personal level. He took it from the business level to a more personal and we were comfortable with that. Even though my realtor had a personal broker, I personally didn’t feel confident to be with anyone else, but Nate.
When I first started this three or four years ago, he had reached out to me. So even before I secured it back last year, we were in contact about two or three years prior. Being that this was my first time, he walked me through the process. He also would reach out to me every six months, asking where my situation was telling me, "No, don't do it." HomeDirect got me what I want and it was within my budget. Based on my experience, once I get myself in order, I would trust giving Nate another business. And hopefully, he will give me the same service, as well as the person on my recommendation.
