HomeDirect has no origination fee. I was working with a different company, and they have origination fee. I did not like that. The process at HomeDirect was also very straightforward. I was very pleased with the whole experience. I liked the fact that a lot of it was done online. There was not a lot of physical paper required. I was able to e-sign most of the documents. There was not a lot of back and forth.
Also any question, the rep promptly replied. He was very courteous, very professional and any concerns that I had, he got back to me very quickly via email or through the phone. Their rates were also very competitive. I'm happy with the decision I made. I was given a clear list of what was needed for me. Once I provided that, the process just kept moving forward. The process was very, very fast. I'm going to recommend this company with whoever I know is gonna be looking for a mortgage.

I looked into getting a mortgage for a new home purchase and I ended up going with a VA. HomeDirect Mortgage seemed very eager and very honest, and they opened up an upfront communication. They were very professional and handled very well. We got pre-approved very quickly. Just a few things had to be passed back and forth, then we had to find the right house. Aside from handling a few document signings and stuff, Erica, our mortgage broker, handled everything very cleanly. She was excellent in all the communications with the seller and with the real estate lawyer and leading us through the process very efficiently. So, it worked real well. We went for a quick close, so it went very fast. HomeDirect Mortgage’s online application process was easy for what we had to do. Initially, we were quoted lower. The rates fluctuated a bit and we didn’t get to do as much buy down as we would like, but the rate and terms seemed very fair.

My experience with HomeDirect was pretty good. John, the guy that I was working with, was upfront and straightforward, like he would actually write everything out and itemize fees and cost. There was no ambiguity where a lot of the other ones was like, "Oh, we can you this rate," but they weren't really giving a great deal of information on how many fees that were gonna come potentially once I've stepped into it. The way he approached it was very good. The transparency was important to me and I felt that he wasn't trying to hide anything. He was making sure I was informed before making a decision. He's a 30-year veteran in this so he knew how things went and it was very evident that he was competent. He sold me by giving information and facts, not just smoke and mirrors type thing. I was very happy and he was very helpful through the whole thing.
The online application and the underwriting process went pretty smooth. We set a date near the end of January and the sellers were needing to move it up, and so we moved it up like five days. So everything was well in place by that time to be able to do that. I thought that the way the online website interface work basically, I just went in and they said, "This is what we need, and that would give you a task," and then I would just go down through the tasks and upload the documents into that portal.
If I emailed John and his assistant, they were very responsive. Anytime they felt something that needed like a personal touch, they would just give me a phone call and say that they put this in there and they wanna make sure X, Y, and Z just answered me, the things would get done quickly, or get it done correctly so that the process can continue to flow smoothly. They also gave me the best percentage rate that anybody else offered. HomeDirect helped me get a home and I would definitely consider going back to them for sure.

I was looking into getting a mortgage for a new home purchase and I was already in the process at that time with my current lender. We were about 10 days out from closing but I thought that I didn’t wanna work with those guys, so I did a mass search for someone. It was at LendingTree or Bankrate or one of those places where they start in a bunch of calls and I started quizzing everyone that called in to see if I thought they were gonna be good enough to get me closed in those 10 business days. HomeDirect’s online application process was easy and the application and underwriting process took two or three days from the first conversation to getting the initial commitment letter.
My lender, Dick, and his assistant, Terry, were spectacular. I used to be a mortgage officer a few years ago and I had a very negative view of guys who were remote and primarily online or by phone, but they completely shattered my misconceptions. Still, I'm not a huge fan of how they did the e-disclosures and the doc storage. It was a system wherein I get an email, then after a certain number of days, it goes away. It would be nice if there was some way to go into a website, sign in, and have access to your loan estimate, closing disclosures, and all of that in one place. Instead, it was a separate link for each document. Besides that, the experience was awesome and the rate and terms of the mortgage were great. I've already recommended HomeDirect to others.

We got a conventional loan from HomeDirect for a new home purchase. It was better than any of the other companies we applied for. A lot of the initial information gathering was in online form, to get the quote or the bid, and then DocuSign for the initial details. There was also a phone call follow up and Joshua, our mortgage officer, was really helpful in answering questions throughout the process. I liked his attention to detail. There was never a situation where I had questions that he hadn’t already anticipated. He really helped us and his availability was really great. If I had a question or a concern, it only took under an hour to get back to me. From start to finish, the process was under two weeks and part of that was a delay in being able to get a W-2 from the IRS because they were closed. But once they had all the needed information from us, it was processed in a couple of days. The rate and terms of the mortgage were very good. We were happy with it.

I was looking to buy a new house and decided to apply for a mortgage. HomeDirect Mortgage was recommended by my Realtors and we called the representative. He was on-point all the time and he kept us informed. He asked for some paperwork which we provided and that was it. He did exactly what he said he was going to do to help us out and we progressed with the whole process. I felt super comfortable working with HomeDirect.

Initially, my wife and I were thinking of doing some remodeling of the house. We then decided we didn’t wanna take any equity out of it and that we just wanted to change our loan down to a 15-year loan, so we could possibly pay it off while we were alive. I ended up going online and inquiring which is something that put my name out there, and the lady from HomeDirect Mortgage jumped all over it, and it seemed to work out. The application process was smooth. I'm an old-school person who is not really savvy on computers and we did this whole thing over the phone which, by the time it was over, was a neat and easy deal. We had it done within a month.
We didn’t have any issues. We were easy clients to work with and we had good credit. Also, we didn’t have to bring up anything on our credit or needed something to be fixed. That made it easier for the rep to make everything work well. Any questions and anything that we had, she quickly responded and if it needed to be fixed, it got fixed. The rates came in at just about exactly what they said they would when we first started. I knew it was gonna be a little bit higher than the 30-year we had, but the payment ended up just being a little bit more than the 30-year, and we dropped 12 years off of it because we had already paid four into it. We are happy with HomeDirect's refinance and we would definitely tell others to inquire with them. Their information that was sent out was very prompt. I never would have thought 15 years ago that we could refinance a house on a phone. I was proven wrong because that's how it's done now.

I like the fact that HomeDirect doesn't sell the mortgage and that is one key factor why I went with it after my research. I spent 30 plus years with my company before I retired, and I had a mortgage with my company moving every three years. I also had my mortgage with my company’s credit union and they sold the mortgage, and it really pissed me off. Also, HomeDirect was expedient in their response. They did a good job with the online application process and I was really most impressed with. The person that got back to me, Dan, was more professional and actually followed up with a phone call, which personalized the service, which I liked. I looked up his credentials online and in doing that, I wanted to make sure that before I gave all my personal information, that I wasn’t gonna be scammed. So, I was giving questions through the process to make sure that I was not being scammed.
He filled everything out. All I had to do was review and sign off on it. There were only a few minor mistakes and I could just go back and tell him that he needed to do this on the review process, and he would correct it and send it back. And then, I would review it and electronically sign it. There were three pieces of paperwork that were not in the electronic paperwork and at that point, I sold my house in Houston and I was in a build. I didn’t have my home office and so I couldn't fax, print out, or easily sign and get the stuff back to him. I would have preferred everything electronically where I could’ve reviewed it. Also, we had to do all of the stuff twice and that was a little burdensome. I didn’t know why it had to be like that.
The process started right around June and it didn’t finalize ‘til December because it was a new home build. With a new home build, there are a lot of steps that go through it that needed to be done. And so, the communication loop between Dan, the builder, and the sales agent were dropped quite a few times, and I had to run around and manage that, and I didn’t like that. If I didn't do that and become more of a mini project manager and run around and get things done and make sure that everybody was in contact, then it would delay the closing even further than it was delayed.
The closing became delayed because the assessor didn't call out the appraiser. Once the assessor called up the appraiser, he didn't get back to us that there were problems with the appraiser. It was a minor thing that could have been handled right at the home site and buttoned up. Also, we didn’t know there was a 72-hour wait time before the closing and that wasn’t communicated back. That was all done on a Friday and so that clock didn’t start ‘til Monday morning. The appraiser came back the second time on a Friday afternoon, turned around and came back and redid it. That could have happened two weeks prior and we could have made the original closing date. HomeBridge just needed to be able to wrap up all the communication ‘cause it was dropped and the personal touch was not quite there.
In hindsight, if I would have done this loan differently, I would have gone to a local place and worked with a bank just because I would have had a person. But I got along with Dan really well. If he would have been here, I would have worked with him. I’m not complaining about them, it’s just that there were a lot of little things that couldn't be done over the internet. You have to be able to go in and develop that relationship and go in and take care of things, and sometimes, this is one of them. When you’re running into a wall, you just have to be able to get in the car and take care of it. However, the rate and terms I got were pretty good. I was waiting and waiting, and then interest rates were going up, so I went ahead and locked in. Then Dan got me a little bit of a lower percentage. I’m a veteran, so I went through the VA and that part was good.

I was researching online, trying to call and shop around for a mortgage, and I came upon HomeDirect. Their rates were similar with the other companies but when it came down to total closing costs, I was swayed to go with HomeDirect because there were no administrative fees with them and that was really helpful. Then, for the rate that I got, I also got a credit at closing and no other company was doing that. Their online application process was easy and everything went well. Then, it was a few days before we got the approval and the process was completed in 60 days.
HomeDirect's reps worked very well with me to close the loan. Specifically, Ryan, the rep who assisted me, was reachable and kept me updated. We worked with a builder to get the house built, so he was included on all the emails and correspondence. He also kind of weighed in when he needed to update me in the loop and I was very comfortable with him. Aside from that, I was very pleased with the terms of the mortgage and I’d recommend HomeDirect.

I had some friends recommend an agent that they knew personally. So I called their mortgage guy, and we went through the process and it worked out. He was really helpful and did a good job. He followed up on stuff and took care of business, and he was helpful with my situation. I was happy with the rate that I got. The only thing I had a little issue with was once I closed, I didn’t get any mail or any information. I had to follow up so I'd figured out when my payment was due. I got emails or questionnaire about my experience before I got any information about my actual loan. So, that was a little confusing, and it kinda threw me off a little bit. But other than that, I was pretty happy with my experience with HomeDirect.

I am a veteran and when I purchased a new home, I applied for refinancing with HomeDirect as they represented the VA. Their application process was simple and it took about two months for the underwriting and application process. I was able to contact their customer service through phone but, I would rather have the lending process done face-to-face than online. HomeDirect needs to be a little more straightforward with their overall process and improve in getting better numbers back to the person buying a house.
Moreover, the rates I got could have been better. I had excellent credit but they did not do enough to keep my mortgage payment down. I am smart with money and I did my own calculations. I just hope I don’t struggle. All in all, I’m very dissatisfied with my experience with HomeDirect. They should do more for the veterans instead of saying that they represent the veterans and being one, I don’t think they helped me out as much as they said they were going to.

After I let my son and his three kids rent and live in the house that I bought, I looked for another house. I looked into getting a mortgage and since I already had one with HomeDirect Mortgage, I figured that getting one from them would be the easiest way to go. Getting ahold of their customer service was easy and my interactions with them were normally done through their website. There were occasional calls too.
The agreement on the house that I was looking at was 100 and HomeDirect pre-approved me at 110. However, when the actual loan came through, it was only 77. The guy figured everything wrong and I didn't qualify for 110. My parents gifted me 25 and that fixed the issue. It would have been nice if HomeDirect informed me about how much I was qualified for upfront. Also, the application and underwriting processes could have been a little faster. It took at least four weeks. One minute, they were asking for this form, and then, later on, they needed another one. It was one thing after the other. But then everything else wasn't too bad.

I looked at reviews online and HomeDirect was highly recommended for being efficient. We got a conventional loan and the application was straightforward and easy. Everything went smoothly.

I shopped several different folks and HomeDirect was the most forward, the most authentic, and laid it out like it was. They better at explaining and it wasn't a puppy mill operation. The application process was very easy and professional. Any time you get a mortgage, there's a lot of stuff that you had to provide. And then the state of Texas caused us to do some strange things as well, but we did that. I like the way Matt and Steve did their business. The application and underwriting took like a month and a half but there was an additional month and a half because of the requirements from the state of Texas.
My wife and I both had to sign and we got stuff on two separate emails. If keeping up of who signed which and where would all come on on one email, so we could sign it all together, it would have been easier. Also, I have asked a couple of times where my payment coupon is for February. They said they would get it out and they were in the process of doing that. I haven't received it yet. It seemed like they should've gotten it out once the thing closed rather than wait for 15 days. But it was good with the customer service. The two gentlemen I worked through, Matt and Steve, were with it all the way. There was no lag time, they were in communication all the time, they followed up, and there was no upselling on this and that. It was all matter of fact and that worked fine, we worked right through that. Working with HomeDirect made the process a little bit easier.

He was also very user-friendly and was waiting on me more than I was waiting on him. So, the guy did his job. My rate was a little bit high but I get that the market goes up and down. I originally did a new home purchase with HomeDirect, then in this last go-around it was a refinance. It was super easy to obtain a mortgage with them. They've got a very automated and streamlined process. The lending process took a total of three weeks. I worked with the rep, John, and our interaction was exceptional. I was impressed with his full understanding of a VA loan and how to process it. He walked me right through the process so there were no hiccups and surprises along the way. Though HomeDirect’s rate was a bit higher than I expected, it was within an acceptable range. My experience with them was outstanding overall.

My brother used HomeDirect before and I also applied for a mortgage with them. It was for a new home and their process was easy. We pre-applied before we found our house, so we had the process going for a couple of months before we had the house that we were gonna purchase. But when it was time to do everything, the loan process went quickly. We also had an excellent experience with Chad, the gentleman that we are working with. He was on the ball and we got everything we needed. He answered a lot of questions in the beginning when we were trying to figure out what we were gonna qualify for and always called us back. And at the time, we were in the process of selling three houses, so it was kind of a special situation and he handled it really well. The mortgage rates are pretty high right now, so that was a little disappointing, but it’s beyond his control. Still, working with HomeDirect Mortgage made buying our house a lot easier.

HomeDirect was recommended by the builder who constructed our home, and they had a few people that they normally deal with. They also had the best rates for us. We did the rate lock-in, so we were able to flow down to a lower rate, which at the time, was the lowest possible. And as soon as we locked in, the interest rates started climbing, so we locked it in at a very good time. We haven't had our first payment yet, but we closed with them, and everything was a very smooth transaction. We purchased other homes in the past, and this was pretty much the smoothest transaction that I've ever had for a home purchase. It was smooth because we received a lot of communication, almost on a daily basis as to what we needed to do and what information we needed. They were very responsive to emails, texts and concerns as well. They didn't see me like we were just a number. It was definitely worth it.

So I went ahead and gave it a shot, and put my information down on LendingTree.
I felt very good about the initial process. My representative worked with me very well. It was kind of a last minute because I was with the first preferred lender and it was getting closer to closing when I went out and reached out to them to get another quote. I was very satisfied and very appreciative of how quick my rep worked to get things going. She was very proactive. I was also very happy with the rate. It was a pretty fair rate for the mortgage. I wanted money out of my house. It was a refinance and I applied for a mortgage. Julianne from HomeDirect was recommended by a friend so I worked with them. I called Julianne, told her that a friend gave me her number, and told her I was interested in. A couple of hours later, she sent me back a couple of different options that we had talked about. A day or so after that, we sent her some papers and two weeks after that, we were done and funded. It was fast and easy with her. She made it all really easy. From the time I talked to Julianne the very first time to the time I was funded, it was under three weeks.
But HomeDirect only offers monthly payments. In my other banks, I can make a payment every two weeks and I can pay half of my payment every two weeks instead of having to do the whole thing once a month. HomeDirect needs to look at the bi-weekly payment. Also, the rate was a tiny bit high, but it's not that big a deal. We wanted to pull a bunch of cash-out for some major projects and working with them let us finish those projects.

At the time I needed to purchase a home, HomeDirect had a good rate with some lender incentives. They didn't have the absolute lowest cost, but based on a couple of factors, they seemed to be the best fit. The process of getting the mortgage was relatively easy. I was previously pre-qualified with another lender, but when I shopped the rate, HomeDirect was significantly lower than the other lender. Once I had gotten in contact with HomeDirect and qualified with them as well, they sent me the information right to approving and proving the rate they had shown they were gonna offer me. Then I went through the rest of the steps by providing my information.
The online application process was relatively straightforward. It and the underwriting process took less than 30 days. My mortgage broker was timely, straightforward and honest in terms of what he said, which was accurate. He got things done and I felt comfortable working with him. I didn’t feel like there was anything shady going on. With HomeDirect, everything is legit. I accomplished one of the things that I need to accomplish relatively painlessly. About eight months ago I went with Veteran United and they sent an appraiser out who appraised the house for a little over 115,000 which I thought was high. Then when I decided to go ahead for the market and try again, I didn't go with them. I had my initial call with the HomeDirect rep and the consensus was they felt comfortable. They put the paperwork in the initial loan and the mortgage figure was around 150. Then, I came back and told them I had the house appraised 'cause I was gonna refinance and switch it over to VA. I also had to pay 500 bucks for an appraiser and I didn't feel comfortable doing that again.
I told them that if they scheduled a VA appraiser and it was the same guy who couldn't see and didn't do anything, I wasn't gonna let him on the property and that I was gonna cancel the mortgage. I waited for two days and when the guy called, I asked him his name and he was the same guy. I quickly called HomeDirect and told them I was gonna stop and not gonna pay 500 bucks to have them do the same appraisal. They said they don't deal with that and that they would get right back to the VA.
They went through a process and I had to wait three or four days. Then I got a call from another appraiser and they sent another person out. It came back pretty much exactly but they weren't very far off at 1,000 bucks. I told them I was comfortable with their figure and they sent me a list of what they thought were comparable and where they came up with their figure. They were over my figure a little bit so I decided to go ahead.
The refinance was set up to go fairly quickly and once I completed all the information that was needed, it took a couple of days where everything was electronically signed. The electronic signing and the feedback helped an awful lot and the process was so fast. I had an issue in the end and they sent out a notary to sign all the documents. But the people they contracted to do it weren't very professional. I made the appointment time but then I was told that the notary guy was sick and he couldn't make it.
I got so upset and I let HomeDirect know. I called them on a weekend but I was able to get ahold of the people and that's the biggest thing for me. Also, when I needed to get ahold of somebody and since I'm not their only client, the rep gets back to me through an email. HomeDirect called the notary and confirmed that someone was gonna come out. When the lady came, I got everything filled out. Overall, it isn't absolutely perfect but nobody is perfect and I will still recommend them.

The application process was pretty straightforward. It was so easy and simple to follow. The only thing that was problematic was when HomeDirect needed copies of my bank statement. I signed all the paperwork online and the process was easy. Ryan, the rep who helped me, was very good and very willing to answer any questions I had. If he wasn’t available, he'd get back with me. I felt very comfortable working with him. However, the lending process took bit longer. By the time we got the inspection done with the one house that I bought, there were a lot of work needed to be done and they weren’t willing to do it. So, we held off and I found another one. Once we got what we wanted, the process went smoothly.

I was looking to refinance, so I looked at a couple of other mortgages. I’m already with Bank of Oklahoma and I've been with Bank of Oklahoma for years. So, I re-talked to them and now, they go through HomeDirect. Everything went pretty smooth. We just signed and it was easy because I was able to sign the paperwork online. And they came to our house to physically sign the paperwork so it was pretty easy and not a whole lot of work on my part.
We got it all done within two weeks. We emailed back and forth with their rep and he was always right on top of emails. He even called me several times and we discussed things over the phone. He was able to answer all my questions, so I didn’t have anything unanswered. Also, I feel pretty good about the rates and terms. The interest rates are a little bit higher than what I like, but it was still reasonable, nothing that I couldn’t live without or else I wouldn’t have done it. If anyone asks about HomeDirect, I would say go with it. I would recommend them to a friend.

We ended up going with a VA loan and we chose to go with HomeDirect Mortgage as a friend of mine from work used them before. I did the application with HomeDirect over the phone and I felt comfortable with them once we started working. Nate was our point of contact throughout the entire process and our interaction with him was the easiest and smoothest. I was impressed with the daily communication. Any time I had a question, he would answer it or find the answer. It was a checklist that he covered, and I didn’t have to worry about anything. I was also content with their rate. Underwriting was a little difficult at some point. But I told Nate that I understood that they were giving me $300,000 for a home. I also gave him the same information several times. Other than that, it was a fantastic experience with HomeDirect Mortgage.

I went through Bank of Oklahoma for my initial loan but I got divorced, so I had to refinance my house and that led me to HomeDirect. I already had my account set up with them, so as soon as I called my loan officer, Casey, he jumped on it right away. I didn't feel the need to go shopping around or go anywhere else. I’ve been happy with my mortgage up to now, so I didn't wanna change.
The whole process was super easy. I called them and Casey gave me a few options. That same day, I had the application and he told me to get it filled out. We worked through it pretty quickly and getting the loan this time went even quicker than the original time when I first got that loan. Casey kept in contact with me constantly through the process. I called him and he called me for any questions or concerns. We also did a few things over email and within two months, we had the application and underwriting done. From the initial startup, Casey told me that he could get it done by the end of year. So we started by end of October and by December 3rd, I met with the notary to get all the documents signed.
The rate I got was good, too. It was a little bit cheaper than what I had before, but that was due to the fact that I was able to reduce it. They have a 30-year and I went to a 15-year. Plus, my payment went up but I got some extra money out of the refinance, so I paid off a few other bills. All in all, I loved my experience with Home Direct. Casey took care of me and I give him props for that.

I applied for a mortgage through HomeDirect for a new home purchase. HomeDirect was who my parents went with and since they’re also a bank, there was no origination fee. I went with a conventional loan and their online application process was easy and straightforward. It took less than a month from application till closing. There were two people that I interacted with, Casey and Anthony, and both were quick to respond. Casey was available for the majority of the time. The only reason we couldn’t contact Anthony was because he had some service to go somewhere but Casey followed up quickly after. I knew that they were trying to sell a mortgage, but I didn’t feel like they were trying to push something that I didn’t want. They were very straightforward and honest. HomeDirect's rate and terms were good and I'm happy with it.

I looked at a couple of different lenders for my new home purchase, and at that time, HomeDirect offered the absolute rates. Their rate was half a percentage below everybody else that I talked to, which was great. Working with them was just so much easier than with anyone else. I got a VA loan and their online application process was super easy. This house was in the process of being built then and as soon as the inspector came in and the appraisal was done, we closed in about five days.
Ryan, the agent I worked with, was a really great guy. He answered any question I had any time I called and has made the process really, really easy for me. Considering I’m in Alaska and he was in Kansas, there were times that we couldn’t get a hold of each other on the phone. But any time I called him and had to leave a voicemail, generally, within an hour, I would get a callback. So, I’m pleased with him. Overall, HomeDirect kept the process really, really, simple, and they were very helpful all throughout. I'd recommend them to people I know that are looking to buy a home.

We had been leasing the house that we purchased for five years, so we were looking to get into traditional financing for it. The process at HomeDirect took a lot longer than we thought it was gonna take, and it wasn't an easy process. Kent was our loan officer and he was very nice and always prompt to return calls, but the underwriters majorly dropped the ball. There were a couple of things that I didn't understand, and I felt like we were in the eleventh hour trying to close the loan. The seller who we were buying the house from was wigging out on me 'cause we had several closing dates that we didn't close on. One of the things that was a problem was our appraisal. They had had the appraisal back for at least six weeks, and it had already been approved according to our loan officer. They came back and said, "We had to have all these extra steps done with the appraisal.” They were steps that should have been done a long time ago.
I understand that the way we bought the home isn't necessarily conventional 'cause we leased it. But when we first started, HomeDirect told us that they'd be able to use our equity. There were days when I was hardly able to work because I was getting them all these documents. I literally got every single cancelled check we ever sent copied, which were two checks a month for six years. Then in the end, they were like, "We can't count any of these." But when we first went with them, they said they would be able to. Also, the rate was not what we wanted to have. They said our interest rate would be 4.75, but we ended up with an interest rate of 5.5 and PMI. It was really frustrating whenever we ended up paying PMI in the end. The only reason why we went ahead and closed the loan was because the seller was going so nuts on us. It was a terrible experience.

I'm an employee of BOK and I applied for a refinance at HomeDirect Mortgage. I went with the 30-year fixed program and it was not really beneficial. The application took about 30 days to be completed and I was frustrated with the whole process. Reading back and forth, the electronic disclosure statements didn’t get correctly sent so we had to delay closing. I was frustrated with the whole process and I didn’t think it was near as smooth as it should have been.
Also, HomeDirect was not as competitive as I would’ve expected. Even so, the interaction I had with Sam, the rep, was good. 75% of the time, he was very responsive and he emailed me back immediately. He would've given a little more clarity on the steps but the disclosure statement was sort of out of his hands. Aside from that, he told me that HomeDirect could match the rates of other companies but I was not asking them to match others. I was asking them to give me their best deal. If I was going to evaluate the economics, I would’ve picked another lender. At the time, the competitor that I was working with was USAA and USAA was almost second to none. But I didn’t go with them because I’m an employee at the bank and I felt obligated that I should stay with the bank solution. Overall, I was satisfied with HomeDirect Mortgage but I would not recommend them.

I've done mortgages eight times in the last eight years with different properties, and HomeDirect's process was one of the easiest. I had a better experience overall. Everybody was good and there was really good communication. Firstland Mortgage owned the first mortgage on one of my properties, so I had them just refinance it in place after a loan, so I didn't have to take out a second mortgage. And Firstland used HomeDirect as the company. There was some issue when it came to the amount of time it took to fund from close time. And then there was some odd situation where there were some direct paid bills that were being directly paid from the refinance, that instead of sending the checks to the entities or direct-paying them, they sent me checks and they sent them to the wrong address. So then they just stopped the checks and sent them to the right one.

Before, I had a past experience with HomeDirect Mortgage and it didn't work out. This time however, it did. Getting my mortgage was relatively easy and it took only a few days until we got our first estimate. Before closing, we made a bunch of changes and I had to work with their agent a few times. Even so, the response time was quick and it was really positive. Also, the rate I got was good. Though the rates ended up dropping after a few days, we had to lock-in our rate so it made sense and we got what we asked for.
However, I felt like the process that HomeDirect Mortgage does is not very well documented in terms of what the average person can understand and explain. If people have the questions to ask, they can get answers. However, it's difficult to know what the questions to ask are because all the fees have different names. Also, I feel like the fees are moved from one category but then they're added back in a different way. Nevertheless, we feel like we got a decent service and a decent deal. I'd definitely recommend HomeDirect to friends at least for reaching out and getting an estimate.

I went from a 3.9 to a 5.25. The interest rates had gone up. But any bank I would have gone through, I would probably come out with the same interest rate, if not higher. Also, a week after we bought the house, I got a statement saying that we were gonna lose our homeowners insurance, and when I called, they had paid it. I haven’t bought a house in 15 years and it is a lot different in the tech age where everything can be emailed and you can get everything in an instant. I got a preapproval with them within two hours of talking with Dave from HomeDirect, then it was just a matter of finding a house. The process of obtaining a mortgage at HomeDirect was awful. I applied for a total of four mortgages in my life. This is the first refinance, but this is the worst experience ever. When they came in and they looked up everything, I had a 785 credit score. They were fine because I never missed any payments. They said they can match it and my application went to an underwriter and they asked for a series of documents. I gave them all of those documents and those are standard. Initially, though, they did not ask for my taxes, which was interesting. Instead, they asked proof of income for two weeks, which I thought was weird.
Still, I gave them four, which is a month. They asked for a series of normal documents as well, like proof of insurance for my home which I thought was odd. It was just weird because no one ever asks for that. I gave those document still and they were fine with them. But I had to pay the appraiser and they were gonna reimburse me. The appraiser came out, and he gave a value to the home, but he wrote the home as a rental property because he had looked it up online. However, it's not a rental property. After that, they asked for two years of taxes. I gave them those. They then said that something was wrong with their system, and they couldn’t find them. They wanted proof of home residence but that turned into a manhunt. They said that the documents I was providing couldn’t prove where I live even when I gave them utility bills that they asked for, as well as my driver's license.
That took eight weeks in total for them to continue and then they asked why they don't put me into a different kind of loan. I told them no because I actually wrote in three letters and pretty much told them that the whole process was going weird. That I’ve never had to go down to the IRS to request my own taxes to send it to them. I sent them a stack of details - they wanted the home declaration papers on my houses, on all of them and not the one I was refinancing. So then so much time had gone by, for two months and then, they wanted everything to start all over again.
Not only that, they started saying that they were gonna charge me for locking it in for the time. But it was their person that was taking too long, so I wrote back in, and I had the guy that was working on it removed from my loan. His manager took over the loan. Lastly, they sent an email saying they have everything they need. That we’re good. Not long after though, they were apologizing because it's taking the underwriter too long to look at the documents and that they needed me to send everything back over again. So, I sent them my information three times. Not only that, on the third time, they started asking me not to send it through the system. Instead, I should send it directly to them in emails, which was odd. Then they kept saying they weren’t getting it so I have to send it through their system again. It was crazy.
I applied for that loan on June 8th. I was pre-approved for the loan on June 15th, and I did not close on my loan until November 18th. And at the very end, My Truth-in-Lending document did not match what I signed on the loan on that day. They were different by $8. There were originally different by over $1,000 and they had to get the $1,000 because that’s illegal to have the Truth-in-Lending document that is different. But in the end, I’ve never seen that it was different ever. Ultimately though, the rates I received turned out good. They matched them and they did beat the other company. They ended up on a range of those rates, so they worked out well.
But still, I would tell everyone not to go with HomeDirect. That is not a good company to go to. I took off work three days to do all the documents they needed. I had to take vacation or sick or flex time. And then just looking up all of those documents, it was stressful. There's also the feeling that someone is trying to take advantage of you and if they're not very knowledgeable on the law and various VPOs, they will end up paying much more than the percentage that they were gonna give in the beginning. I only avoided it because I had written the letters and knew a little bit about the law.

I did an online mortgage, and it would have been nice to have someone to sit face-to-face with. But I knew what I was getting myself into, so it was really good for the service that I got.
I contacted HomeDirect through Zillow and Jordan got back to me very quickly. We started speaking and he sent me what their current rates would be and the estimated rate based off of my application, and we went from there. He would stay up late when we were in the middle of doing something, and he was very responsive to everything. It took him five to 10 minutes typically to get back to me. He called me a few times when there was something that needed to be done quickly, and that was nice. He did a really good job.

I needed to do some home improvements so I refinanced and ended up going with a 15-year fixed loan. Compared to other lenders, HomeDirect had the best deal. They had the lowest closing cost and working with them made it simple for me to refinance my home. I’d recommend them to anybody. They were excellent, and the process was quick and easy. It took about five days and that was it. Everything went smoothly.
Jim was a wonderful mortgage manager. He was topnotch. He was very down-to-earth and friendly. It was like talking with a neighbor or a friend. There was no pressure at all. He was always there to help with anything I needed. Whatever questions I had, he answered them thoroughly. If he didn’t, he would get the information and get right back to me. If I had called him, he would call back within 10 minutes. I would have liked to get a lower rate but that was the average and he worked hard. He first quoted me a 4.87% then got it down to 4.6% at no extra cost. I think that also had a lot to do with our credit. That helped.

We put our house up for sale down in Pasco County in Land O’ Lakes to move back up here to this area. I have Realtors who live up here and when my wife went online, she came up with Mark and we got in touch with him. We talked to our original mortgage people and they projected an interest rate that we were not comfortable with. So, we talked to Mark and Sam, our loan officer, who got us a better deal. It was almost three-quarters of a point which was important to us. We got a VA loan and I was glad to have Mark and Sam working with us. These people really contributed and they did the best they could with not having the same people right there where we could see face-to-face like Freedom Mortgage, our original mortgage company. I got to know a couple of people, and everything worked out okay. We love our home here, and they pushed hard and worked hard for us.
I have two sisters that are in real estate and have been for decades. One of my sisters was telling me that the closing that we tentatively set was not going to happen but it did. It was a lot of work for my wife to not be where I could go in and talk to these people face-to-face and she was on the computer a lot. They wanted a lot of information and they were consigned with working with us. Sam made himself available 24/7 and answered my email. He made it personal even though it was impersonal over the phone. I called him on several occasions and had a fun chat with him about Kansas City and barbecuing steak. I appreciate everybody taking the time to do everything that they’ve done and that was very important.
HomeDirect Mortgage's rate worked for us. At some point, it became apparent to the lender and the real estate agent that they were just about gonna have to take me back to square one on this and walk me through it. Most veterans have the certificate of guarantee of home ownership and my wife and I have had a couple of houses before this, so my eligibility certificate was down to 56,000 in change. The VA has to be paid off in full before they were reestablished and I received the letters in the mail and so forth that this has all been taken care of through Freedom Mortgage and the VA. I’m not going to have a problem using them again. I would tell anybody about it and tell them to take a shot. Maybe they didn't see it the way I did, but at least give the guy the benefit of the doubt.

I made a new home purchase and I considered about three companies before deciding to go with HomeDirect Mortgage. They did not have the 10% that you put down at the beginning. They didn't have the application fee that all companies have, so I was saving on the closing cost. The online application process was a good experience all the way around. There were so many twists and turns during the application and we locked it in in about two weeks. The house wasn’t complete yet and it had to be a certain percentage completed before we could lock in the rate, but it was no fault of HomeDirect, it was on the builder side.
The loan officer, Matt, that we worked with was really flexible and always available. He answered questions, so that was really helpful. I ended up with a lot of things I was not clear about and he was very good at explaining and making a clarification. I was very comfortable with him. However, I was kinda disappointed in the rate. We have really good credit and I felt the rate could be less. It was kinda confusing because of the different agencies that they go through to get our credit score. They use different agencies and different rating systems. Our credit scores were better than the system that the bank was using.
We are in our new home and we enjoy it. We really like it. Matt helped make that process as tolerable as it could possibly be, so we are happy with it. When you are in this process, it is stressful and it helps when you have a company and a loan officer that’s available that walk you through the process. They explain the stuff to you that’s really not so clear in a way that it makes you comfortable, so I would recommend HomeDirect. The online search had a good outcome and it made me more trustful of the process.

After evaluating a couple of mortgage companies, I decided to go with David from HomeDirect Mortgage. I was convinced by the offer he made. It was good working with him and I was comfortable with him. The loan process was smooth. David explained to me everything that was possible. I had many inquiries, but he was very patient. Every document that was shared for the signature, he tried to explain what were the clarifications that I may have. Since this was my first time, he made sure that I understood what we were doing. Then on every document that had been signed out, he’d make sure that he sends a mail before and after. He'd also ask if I had done everything. He would even send a reminder if I delayed anything.
I had a log-in where I can go and monitor what was happening. During the employee verification process, we had to go back and forth a couple of times. It took quite some time to get in touch, but he made sure that he facilitated talking to the right person. The rate was pretty decent. There were some mortgage lenders that provided us less, but that was based on the cost where you put down more discount points. That seems to be the usual thing that they do. The 4.6 seems to be an ideal rate comparing zero discount points and other factors. I’ve been hearing from people about their experiences with mortgage and based on that, what I experienced was far better. I highly recommend HomeDirect.

He went above and beyond. Things were made a little bit easier since he knew what he was doing. But the online application process was a little redundant. I would fill in stuff online then I'd have to give the same information back to Dan or he would ask for the exact same information I'd filled in.
Also, further in the application or approval process, I had to provide the exact same information that I gave them. Maybe there were some people that weren’t sharing documentation and I had to fill out the same documents three or four times. It wasn’t a big hassle, though. I’ve gone through the loan process many times and the online application process with HomeDirect was easy. That took no time at all. But the application and underwriting process took about 40 days and they were the most difficult underwriter I’ve ever dealt with. I get that underwriters want every piece of information regarding your life that they possibly can get. But they wanted an explanation for this and that. And then we would be over 20 days and they would want an updated bank statement, which would then have more stuff in it. I own and manage rental properties. Not only that but I’m also in the army. Plus I work a job and I’m a personal trainer. So I get paid for that. I also have investments that I receive money from. So my money goes in and out of my bank account like liquid fire. The underwriter wanted to know what in the heck was going on with my bank account so I had to write letters as explanation for all kinds of madness.
This is one of the examples. I bought a house and since my brother and I have a joint investment account and he’s the primary, he had to technically send the money to my account so that I could purchase the property. He sent me the exact amount, down to the penny, and then I sent the underwriter my final disclosure showing how much I paid down to the exact penny. The underwriter already had my county records. They had my lease agreement for the property because it’s rented. They’ve got my W2 statements showing that I’ve been claiming that property. But I had to wait an extra four days because at 4 o’clock on a Friday afternoon, they wanted signed copies of a document that I already given them. And it was holding up my closing.
That was the reason I had to do a 45-day rate lock. I knew that with my financial situation, it was gonna be difficult. So if I had done a standard 30 days, I would’ve been screwed. And half of it wasn’t even my fault. I told Ryan that if I wasn’t on a time crunch, I would’ve dropped HomeDirect flat on their face. But Ryan was what kept me sane. He was the one who was very patient. He agreed with me that it was unreasonable but he was an excellent mediator.
The underwriter made it hard for him too and I have no idea how many hours he worked on my loan alone. He would call me at 7 o’clock in the evening sometimes saying he sent me an email. He would ask if I could do it for him and he would get it done that day. Even for him, my case was not easy. It was difficult for me and it was difficult for him. But it was the underwriter that was the problem. I already recommended Ryan and HomeDirect to my mom who is currently in process of refinancing their home now.

All the digital signatures made it really easy compared to the last time when I bought a house. It took two weeks to get everything for me to sign. Also, HomeDirect's reps stayed on top of everything and let me know when I needed to sign stuff or get stuff done. They were helping me out with that.

I bought a second home and I had to apply for a mortgage. I used to work for HomeDirect and I have some good friends over there, so I certainly trust them with my financing. Kent, my direct contact and loan officer, did a great job for me and my family. He's a great tutor and the timelines that he had put upfront came through. From A to Z, it was a very good process. They were a pleasure to work with and their rates were very competitive.

I was on a variable rate on my loan and I wanted to get a better rate, so I applied for a refinance with HomeDirect Mortgage. My sister had started to work with their customer service rep, Erica, and she referred me to Erica. Erica was awesome and really good. I was impressed with her understanding the business and what I was looking for to do, as well as her patience with me. She did a great job and I would do business with her again for sure. There was a lot of information that needed to be provided and I have never dealt with so much documentation with any of my refinances as I did with this one. But, overall, the end result was what I was looking for and it happened. The whole process from the application to the closing took a month.
So far, my experience with HomeDirect has been good. The length of the loan that I got is good and the terms are good too. Although the rates are not the best and I would have preferred to get a better rate, I’m satisfied with what I got. Working with HomeDirect has created the most saving for me. Definitely, the saving is better than it was before and I appreciate that. I’m glad that the loan has gone through, even if I wasn't expecting it to. the saving that I’m gonna be making is gonna make things a lot easier for me.

I was recommended to HomeDirect and their application process was easy and fast. Everything was great and I’m stoked about the whole process. But it was weird that I had to detail the three years of my tax payments and give them my employment verification for the last three years. I had to do both but I figured they’d see that in my taxes. But it wasn’t difficult and it only took me 20 minutes to get them all. I was also impressed with their staff's timing and the fact that if I sent an email, they’d get back to me immediately. I was 100% comfortable working with them and I'm all right with the rate and terms of the mortgage that they gave me. I’m in my house now, so I can thank them for helping. I would also recommend HomeDirect if someone was talking about getting a loan.

We were coming back to the United States and purchasing a house. HomeDirect was able to give me one of the best rates and was very helpful. They were also servicing their own mortgage and their reps were professional and knew their things. I started the process in late September and we were able to close on time on November 1st. It was unconventional for us as we were in Germany when it was happening. Everything was done via email or late at night. But the rep who was helping us made it easy and it went very smoothly. He would update us all the time and answer all our questions. When he did my pre-quote on everything with the closing cost, it was only off by 30 dollars when we went to closing.
The HomeDirect website is supposed to show updates on the process of the mortgage and upload documents. But the system isn’t very useful because you can’t really do anything except to view what has already been done. You can’t ask questions or flag anything. You just get a snapshot instead of any interaction with what’s going on. Other than that, HomeDirect was able to help us out with everything that we needed to do and we’d tell our friends to give them a shot.

The experience that I had with HomeDirect was good and I would definitely recommend based on that. Everything was fine with the process because it was all online. The website was good and it went well. There was just one hiccup with my employer verification. On the last day of the loan closing, I had to run around to get a written confirmation about the employment. Hopefully, that could have been done earlier in the process. But the representatives at HomeDirect were good. They were proactive and they kept me up to date on how it was going.

We wanted to buy a house and we were able to get a VA loan from HomeDirect Mortgage. I went through LendingTree and they were the first people to call me with HomeDirect. I told them that I knew that there's a lot of other people that would give us the loan and we needed to pay much less than what others offer and they said all right. Two months later, we moved into our house. HomeDirect team was honest, knew what they're talking about and had the loan done in the time that we needed it done. They had the money for the close when they said they were going to. Ryan, the rep who worked with me knew about the VA loan. He helped us lock in a good rate and he was there whenever we needed a question. He was really good with his job.

I was offered the lowest interest rate and they were professional, so I decided that I'd go with them. The enrollment process was mostly done online. I had gone through an online process with Quicken before as well and theirs was easier, but HomeDirect was not difficult. The whole thing took us a few weeks to complete but that was because my wife's credit was frozen. Our rep was available and he was able to answer any question that I had. I'd recommend HomeDirect Mortgage, but I'd also recommend that you shop around.

We were doing a refi on the house because we wanted to do some improvements, and going into a mortgage seemed the best way to do it. The moment I went online, I had a lot of people contacting me. I have been in the real estate profession for 30 years, so I am hard to please and a little bit over-critical. I also put a lot of emphasis on how people treat me. And Chad from HomeDirect stood out tremendously. It was just a phone conversation, but I had a very good feeling him from the first time that we talked. His processor was excellent too.
I knew exactly how the loan should go. I have had my own and closed hundreds of loans for other people. And the one with HomeDirect was one of the easiest processes I had ever been involved in. It took less than 30 days from the time that Chad made contact with us until we closed. Also, their rate was beyond competitive for where the rates were at the time.
People should use HomeDirect and be sure to use Chad. I’m sure there’s a lot of good people at HomeDirect, but I will definitely refer my friends to him. I was very pleased with the process, with Chad's personal interaction and with his attention to every single time that I called. He responded immediately with an intelligent response and things moved along very nicely.

I found HomeDirect by chance on looking up zeo.com and at the time, I contacted three companies. But I decided to go with HomeDirect because of the specific officer that I spoke with, Jesse, who was very clear to explaining all the different steps. This was a first time for me purchasing a home, so I had a lot of questions that were not answered properly by the other company that I contacted. And Jessie was very calm, very through, and immediately looked at numbers. He was always available, too. The minute that I made an offer, he was working and communicating with the realtor constantly, including me in the conversation. They immediately sent me the list of what they needed and he made everything so easy compared to the horror story that I had read.
I was very lucky, the way things panned out. The application and lending process took a bit longer than a month to finish because there were repairs that needed to be done on the house that pushed back the closing date, but that was what it was due to. Everything worked out great and the rate and terms of the mortgage were less than what I had expected. I'm pretty sure that the rest of the companies out there have the opposite approach that Jesse had with me. His was more of a personal approach where he was really catering to my needs and knowing what I wanted. He was making sure that he was gonna work this way for me and not just staying as one of the many other clients. The time I worked with him, it seemed that I was the only person he was working with.

He was extremely knowledgeable and he helped me understand the whole process better than most other people were willing to do. He was there to give me the best rate and terms for the mortgage. He gave me multiple options and different rates based on how much I was putting down. So I was given plenty of options that I was able to choose.
For the application and underwriting process, I had a lot of time because it had a 60-day closing, so it took a week to complete from the time we had to get stuff moving and get paperwork through. In the end, the loan helped me buy a house and go to school. I’ve recommended HomeDirect to a couple people that I knew were buying a house and I'll use them again the next time I buy a house.

Bankrate.com listed HomeDirect as the lowest mortgage in the 20-year category at the current time. So, I got a mortgage from them for a new home purchase and ended up with their 20-year fixed loan program. I had an excellent experience with them. Their application process was super smooth and super fast. It was a closed sale, meaning we were purchasing from another family member. David, the loan officer, took my information over the phone and filled in the application. Then he had me verify it and complete everything. I called and talked to him at the end of September then we closed on October 29th. It was for a second home and I got it at 4.5% in the fall, which rate had crept up a little bit. So, it's a very competitive rate and I'm happy with it.
There were certain things that David couldn’t tell me and I had to go to the appraisal person for that. He'd simply say that he couldn't tell me because it was a firewall between him and that area, but there wasn’t any customer service issues. I was also impressed that he was available 24/7 and he got back to me in less than 24 hours with an answer on any question I had. He was very helpful by email and by phone, by cell or by office phone, depending on what his schedule was. I hope he’s part of their customer success team and in terms of training people coming in because they’ll do very well if they keep up that type of service.
I felt completely comfortable working with David and he kinda went beyond the call of duty in terms of helping me structure the sale contract. He didn’t do it but he gave me advice about it, so that I could create a gift of equity and reduce the down payment. That allowed me to do some things, like renovations, immediately to the property. Otherwise, I'd end up using up all of my cash on the down payment.

I was happy that he was telling me what I was getting from them. He was very professional and from the first day, I was very comfortable with him because before he went over everything, he talked about his experience. He asked me questions on what I was looking for instead of giving me options. Based on what I was expecting then, he found deals for me and we went to it. We texted and any time I called him, he would pick up the phone. If I emailed him, he responded within five minutes. That was very impressive because sometimes when I email someone, I wait for days to get a response back.
The process of application and underwriting took 35 days because my previous mortgage company was very slow to send some paperwork. Other than that, the online application process was great and easy. They gave me a to-do list, so I wasn't lost. If I wanted to do something, I went to their website. And if I uploaded a file, I would know if the file was checked or if it was still in waiting. If I had forgotten about it, I would receive an email reminder saying that a file has not been uploaded. It was good to keep track of what I was uploading and what they were expecting from me.
I had three different mortgage companies when I first bought the house. I did not have much experience, and one was from Suntrust, the other one was from VHDA, and then the local government. Their interest rates were very high, so it was hard to keep track of them. HomeDirect's rate was a bit higher than what I was expecting. I was expecting that my monthly payment would be a little less, but it was understandable that when I calculated it, it had to be higher. Still, working with HomeDirect made my life a little easier. Now, I have one mortgage company to deal with and the interest rate is lower.

I applied for a VA loan from HomeDirect Mortgage to buy a new home and my online application experience was easy. To get the mortgage, I reached out to the loan officer and the final application was via their online portal. I got approved then found a house, they gave me an offering, and I submitted more appropriate information.
The whole application and underwriting process took about 45 days. However, I was looking to do a closing of 30 days which was very possible if the loan officer was better organized and knew how to do his job. He was very incompetent and terrible at everything. He would repeatedly ask for the same piece information forgetting that I or my realtor submitted it. He would also email us separately. For instance, if I submitted it, then he would email my realtor a week later asking for the same piece of information. He realized that he already had it and he just pushed the process back.
I had to pay about $1,000 in penalties because the loan officer, for the third time, asked for redundant paperwork that we already submitted and pushed back my closing date. And because I had to extend my rate, I had to pay a .025% interest rate on that which was $550. I also had to pay a $200 additional fee to the builder because I pushed back my closing date for two days. I’m in a battle to get the $750 refunded based off the loan officer's incompetence.
I’m trying to report to the loan officer's superiors, but he has not provided me with his boss’s number. I’m at the point where I’m gonna give him one more chance to give me his boss’s number and if not, I'd have to go through the Better Business Bureau or whoever oversees mortgage process in the federal government because what HomeDirect did was just ridiculous and, especially to a veteran, appalling. Additionally, the inspector that they used to inspect my house fails and I have issues with the house itself structurally, so I have to go back to the inspector, demand my money back, and figure out if the builder is gonna fix what’s wrong or if I’m gonna have to take them to court.
HomeDirect failed me everywhere in every possible aspect one can think of and I was not happy. I would tell my family and friends to stay as far away as they can from them, no matter what. HomeDirect offers some great incentives, but the reason they offer incentives is they lack in customer service, professionalism, and everything else.

The rate was not the greatest in the world because it is an investment property, but I understood that mortgage properties charge more for an investment property. The application and underwriting process took a little over 30 days. It was done piecemeal. My only put-on was I'm not the typical borrower so it was not a W-2. It was tax returns and rental property income, so it was a little more onerous than most. But they got me to the finish line and that's what counts. I really liked the loan officer, Cathy. I liked it. I didn’t even have to go into any office. I just did it on my phone which was nice because that’s what I had. I e-mailed their guy and he sent me back a questionnaire. I then sent that back and he sent me what I was pre-approved for. When I found the house, we went through where I did my info and he sent me the forms to sign. Once the forms were signed, I bought the house. The lending person, Dawn, was also easy to work with. She was prompt and very helpful. I would send her an e-mail and she would reply with all the information I needed in a couple of hours. All in all, HomeDirect made my life a lot easier.

Working with HomeDirect Mortgage has simplified some things. I had them before and when I needed to refinance, I went with them again for a VA loan. My mortgage rep was very professional and knowledgeable. He walked me through the process. I also called him about anything that I needed to know and then he would either call me right back or send me an e-mail with the answer. The whole application process took about a couple weeks and it was straightforward. I supplied information electronically and they brought it all into their side and the underwriters, then they issued the mortgage. I then signed the paperwork and it was done. Also, the terms of the mortgage I received was good. I'd tell my friends to give HomeDirect a try.

Given HomeDirect's good rates, we decided to work with them on a VA loan for our new home. Their online application was easy, then with the underwriting, the whole process took us around three weeks. Their reps have been prompt and they always answered our questions. Our guy, Ryan, was down to earth, knowledgeable and communicated well. Though the rate on the mortgage fluctuated a little because we got caught up in the middle of the hurricane, it was still okay.

HomeDirect had a better APR, so I went with them and got a VA loan for a new home purchase. Their online application process was straightforward but the application and underwriting process took longer than anticipated. From their end, getting the appraisal done took over a month and because of that, we had to pay over $1,000 as penalty for extending our rate. That was what my wife didn’t like about being a customer of HomeDirect. They said that the delay was not their fault because the title was not done. But we had rate extension two times and the title was done before that. We were just waiting for the bank to finish that part.
Neverthelss, our agent, Mark, was really nice and I was very comfortable working with him. He was good at communicating and presenting the details. There were certain things that he might not have known at 100% certainty, but that goes for any agent out there.
