Securing the loan with HomeDirect was pretty easy. The application for me to actually do it was not very long. The underwriting process was probably about 5 or 6 weeks but everything was fine. This is like my 6th loan so this was pretty smooth. It was probably the easiest loan application I've ever had. Everyone was very helpful, pleasant and very easy to get along with. If I had any questions, I just called them back. If they didn't answer the phone, they would call me back shortly. They always answered my questions.
The only complaint I have is the first agent I worked with left for a different job. I never was told about that until I called them back. They told me he's no longer with them. They assigned me another loan officer, and they were fine. That switch over was unexpected and no one alerted me to it, but HomeDirect is good. Their rates and terms are competitive. Go with them.

I wanted to buy a house and I got a VA loan through HomeDirect Mortgage. I chose them for their rate. I worked with two coordinators, Aspen and Michelle. They were very responsive and they took the time to answer all my questions. I initially reached out on their website and then a loan coordinator contacted me. We pretty much went through the process step-by-step using their online system and via email and text message. The process was super easy and straightforward. It was very fast too and I was very much satisfied with that. The experience was really good.

We were moving and I had been shopping around for the best rate, and I found out that I had the best rate option through HomeDirect. I was pleased with the process and the ease of the paperwork and e-signature. The holdup was on our end selling our home, but as far as the process from application to closing, the timeline was appropriate. Everything was in order and the process was smooth. I did feel like there were a lot of add-ons that could be streamlined to where there aren't so many add-ons or miscellaneous fees. Still, I will be looking to refinance if rates drop as expected towards the end of the month.

I wanted to take advantage of some of the equity we had in our home to take care of some consolidation on our bill. I had a few different comparisons and HomeDirect had the better offer. I applied for the mortgage and began working with the agent that responded, Julie. She was great to work with. Every time I asked a question, she got back with me within a couple of hours. However, it took a little too long as we had a problem with the third-party service that handles their appraisal processing. The appraiser sent the report in and apparently, it was in the wrong format and it took a very long time to try and get that resolved. It took 60 days to close my mortgage. They could’ve avoided that by picking an appraiser that could submit the appraisal in the right format that they’re looking for. The one that they picked didn’t have the software or ability to do it the right way. Nonetheless, I’d definitely recommend HomeDirect.

I looked into a mortgage because I was buying a new home and the application process with HomeDirect was easy. It was all in one spot so I thought that was convenient. I am also a loan officer, although I don't do home loans, and HomeDirect's process is better than ours. The process was clean and quick. I had all the stuff and the rep had it submitted then it went through. I thought two weeks but it was actually a little quicker than that.
The person I worked with always answered the phone and answered my questions whenever I had anything. He was very good at communication. He knew what he was talking about and kept me apprised of the rate movement since I had a little longer of a closing period. We had a 60-day contract. At the end, it was a little rushed but I understand how that always happens. When it comes to the closing time, it would all get a little hectic. And it wasn't that big of a deal. If somebody didn't know that, they may have been freaking out a little more. But all in all, it was a really smooth process. It was all really good. I would recommend HomeDirect highly.

I was doing a refinance with HomeDirect Mortgage and I have done several of them with Dan, the loan officer. He was fantastic and a great guy. He was very responsive, knowledgeable and took care of the business. This was the third refi that I did with him but midstream, HomeDirect laid Dan off and they turned me over to Kathy and it went downhill from there. I had to pull her along the entire way. I was not happy and I won’t go back. I did the underwriting process with Dan and it was fine up until that point. I provided copies of my W-2s, 1099s and tax forms to Kathy and there were no responses nor emails, until I started sending threatening emails such that I’m gonna walk away from this. She started responding but it was never a pleasant experience. After I did this refi, I was looking to buy another house and I went and sought Dan out wherever he went, and I found him.

HomeDirect had lesser fees and a better rate. I was looking to buy a new home and the online application process was not all that bad. The process took at least a month, if not two, to when the underwriting was approved. But the person that I dealt with was great. She went out of her way and over and above. She helped me out especially at the end, making sure that we got everything through the process. The builder actually took the time on getting the appraisal and there was some extra push on her end to get it really done. It was not a problem getting ahold of her too. It was easy.

I moved to a new base and a new city, and working with HomeDirect made the house-buying process easier. I got a VA loan and the online application process was easy. It took a month and a half from start to finish and the rep was very professional and dependable. I called whenever I needed him. If it was on a weekend and I was filling out the application stuff, he’d be like, “I will call you back in a little bit, and he would. He always had answers. They're just a call or an email away and they always respond. Plus the rate was fairly low.

I’m in the North City and we relocated to Maryland, and our realtor suggested that we work with Tim for our mortgage. After talking with him, he was the friendliest person we worked with. I tried getting pre-approved through another bank, and they weren’t as user-friendly. HomeDirect gave us a much better rate. Tim was awesome in helping us get our loan, walking us through all the steps and answering all my questions. Their online process was really easy to use. I liked that every time there was an update to our account, I got emails about it. And I could just log-in and see what the status was. Every step of the way, I knew where everything was in the process.
Along with that, Tim also sent me other messages on the side just to let me know in case I haven’t seen my email. This is our second home buying experience and it was the best that it could have been. It helped that Tim was very involved in the process. It made it so easy to do everything. I had him on the phone, in text messages and in emails. He responded very quickly.

We've gone through HomeDirect earlier on a different house that we backed out of the deal. So when we went back to them for the second house, they already had a lot of our information and paperwork. They just reactivated the application and the process was really easy. Closing the loan went real smoothly and we got a 15-year fixed loan. With HomeDirect, you're supposed to be saving money upfront with your closing cost because they make their money in the long term because they don't sell the loan. But banks would sell the loan and they charge you more upfront. The HomeDirect reps were very communicative, very responsive, and very personable. I was real happy with the whole thing. We would have liked a little bit lower interest rate though.

We were preapproved and started the home shopping process with another lender but the fees they were charging for things like origination caused us to look for a lower cost lender. We found HomeDirect Mortgage through Credit Karma which picked up the credit inquiry by the first lender. It asked us some questions and then, it gave us a list of three lenders, HomeDirect being one of those. We worked with Matthew and he was able to provide us with not only a better rate but also a lender credit. It had no origination fee.
We purchased a foreclosure owned by Fannie Mae, which was a difficult process. HomeDirect was able to fund and approve everything the day before but on a short timeframe. The other lender that we started with warned us that those internet lenders are gonna let you down and they’re not gonna be able to take care of things. And if anything goes even slightly wrong, you’re gonna regret going with them. We were nervous, but everything worked out perfectly fine in time. The actual closing itself was amongst the smoothest I’ve ever had, so we’re very pleased. Our attorney at closing observed the rate and made a comment that he felt that that was a very good rate so, I was very satisfied.

I was renting a house and it got hit by a tornado. I had to get out of it. I enrolled for HomeDirect's 184 loan. I’m happy with the mortgage so far. My place is very good and I like it. I went from having no home to having one. They explained everything. But I wasn't happy with the way some stuff went. I had a problem with their representatives. I called and talked to the guy I ended up going with and I found out that he had talked to the homeowner which I know is a no-no. He then had to get a lady assistant to help him out. Their names are Seth and Melissa.
We sent everything to Seth to begin with. Once he got Melissa involved, we ended up showing everything to her. But I had to send them the same document over and over. Every time I turned around, they were asking for another copy of this and another copy of that. I ended up doing it four or five times on almost every document and it took probably a little over two months to close. Also, we asked Seth if we needed to get a termite inspection. He said no and that they didn't require one. He said it was a waste of money. But on the day we were closing, he told us that we had to have a termite inspection. We had to put off the closing another day then spend another $100 to get that termite inspection.

We purchased a new home. When I had my other home on the market, I spoke with Brian from HomeDirect. But I went with another lender and I ended up not feeling comfortable with that one. It was like being misled. I spoke with Brian and he gave me some assurance. I switched and went with him. I applied with HomeDirect in April and they had a simple online application process. But maybe it was rushed. I think it could have been a little bit more detailed online like on the process or what needed to be uploaded to the website. But it could be just because there was a short window when I switched over.
The process was pretty swift and took less than a month. It was a convenient process. They communicated well and there were no issues or concerns. The rates and terms were excellent too. It was way better than what I was getting at the other place. I just talked with someone from HomeDirect a week ago. It went well and she was very helpful. I wanted to get rid of PMI and ended up with HomeDirect Mortgage. They have the best rate and lowest closing cost. The application was pretty streamlined and simple. The rates were industry-standard so they were fine. The process was smooth but it took too long. Everyone told me they could close in 16 days. But once everything was approved, it kinda just waited in queue probably because everyone was super busy last month. I was hoping to get the paperwork through quicker because we had a bunch of things waived. In the end, we closed in just under a month.
It got very stressful towards the end. It all had to do with taxes and the end of the month. They funded the account one a day before it would’ve hit my credit report. That’s why it took longer than originally anticipated. There were other factors, too like the holiday and some other stuff. When I first opened the mortgage request, I talked about the time to close which was typically 16 days. But my mortgage guy was honest with me. He was helping me out and told me they were slammed. I worked with somebody in the industry who told me that the month of May was just unbelievable given the number of mortgages that they were processing. My mortgage guy was awesome, very straightforward and easy to get ahold of. He got his stuff done. He would follow up and get back to me. Overall, shop around but give HomeDirect a shot.

I was purchasing a new home. And getting a conventional loan from HomeDirect was very painless. I Google searched up-to-date financing rates. And in order to do so, they have sent me to a HomeDirect website. In order to see those rates, I had to put in my phone number, which I usually don't do. But I put in my phone number to see the rates. And then, I was contacted by a mortgage officer from HomeDirect shortly after that. I liked their lower origination cost and closing fees. And the online application process did not take very long.
As far as receiving the application, then me completing the application, and then receiving an approval for the application, that process was short. It took three hours, but it was within the same day. The underwriting process was fairly average. We didn't need to request an extension at all, so the underwriting was able to be done within the schedule of the closing. All in all, I don't know how the process could get much more convenient. HomeDirect has their portal available, where one is able to upload documents straight to the portal. And those documents are shared both with me, the applicant, and the mortgage officer. The terms are good, too. They had very competitive rate terms. And what I learned was there were sort of ways to rework the loan within a certain time period after closing. There was no early payoff fee. Working with HomeDirect secured me a loan to buy a new home, so I'm living in a new home.

I had an adjustable-rate mortgage which the interest rate was going up. I refinanced with HomeDirect because of their interest rate and the online application process was fine and easy enough. However, the application and underwriting process took way too long. I made my application beginning or middle of March and I didn’t close until the very end of May. There were some significant delays because of the bank but that might have been a one-time thing.
Other than that, I worked with Tyson and he did a great job. He was very straightforward and I got the feeling that he was an honest guy and he was trying his best to do a good job. I was asking him if the market rate drops during my application process, whether my interest rate would drop, and he tried to find out whether that would happen or not. As for the rate, it seemed that the market rate was below what I finally got. But Tyson told me that that may have been because it assumes at least a 1.0 charge and I was going for the lowest cost rate. He got me the best rate I could get.

We chose to contact and apply to HomeDirect Mortgage based solely on its impressive reviews and very good internet general surveys of online mortgage companies. Until the moment we decided to pause our thinking and ultimately change the direction of our application; the impression given to us after that decision left us frustrated and perhaps thankful we didn't do business with them. Based on fact and not interpretation we simply sent written notice that we changed our minds of our application. We took for granted that would be the end of our possible association until receiving an email response just short of demanding an explanation.
It wasn't enough for the loan officer to accept our decision but to process yet another mortgage offer. One that was completely different from our original application while despite having knowledge of our application cancellation; processed our $600 appraisal fee. Although it has been acknowledged from the loan officer confirming the processing of our appraisal fee refund request; it never occurred. If one looks back at prior reviews related to this circumstance; it appears to be a very concerning business practice as one customer stated waiting 5 months before receiving their refund. This experience impresses upon us as a very bad commentary for a very good financial institution. I place full blame on the loan officer's ill-advised, zealot-like inconsiderate professionalism.

I contacted the person I dealt with the last time and then, they set everything up. The online application was quick and easy, and took only about half an hour of my time. Then, from start to close, it was a month and a half, which was fine. It was mostly just waiting on the appraisal. Aspen, the person who processed the loan, answered all my questions quickly via email and I felt very comfortable working with him. HomeDirect gave me what I wanted on the rates and terms. I had 3.75 but the rates went up in the last three years, and I still got a 4%. HomeDirect had the best rate I could find for the lender credit offered. But my loan officer, Matt, had a misunderstanding on the lender credit. He was under the impression that the lender credit could only be applied up to the closing cost when in fact, it's the actual amount of the credit. It's a dollar amount. So that delayed closing a little bit but I finally got the full credit after I delayed the closing. Except for that misunderstanding, it all went pretty well. I also don’t do well with people who take their time and Seth is eager to get things moving. I was very comfortable working with him. He’s pretty awesome. I didn’t love the appraiser but that has nothing to do with HomeDirect. From the time we contacted HomeDirect to possibly refinance to the time we closed, it was only three and a half weeks. That wasn’t bad. We got a 30-year VA loan at 4.25%.

We wanted to refinance to a lower rate and because of past relationships, we went with HomeDirect. The application and underwriting process took a couple of weeks and I was impressed with the follow-up made by Sam, the rep. I was very comfortable working with him. He gave me options and I didn’t even think about the 20-year until he showed me why it was a better one. He was very knowledgeable in all the products plus, the rates and terms that I received were good. It was a great experience with HomeDirect.

I hit the button on Zillow and I was contacted by someone from HomeDirect. We were a first-time home buyer and everything worked out fine with my loan officer. However, the underwriting process was kind of scattered and there was a lot left up in the air. There was a lot of back and forth between the underwriter and the mortgage loan officer, because I would need one thing, then I would need something else, and then I would need something else. So, I couldn't get all the information all at once.
My original loan officer was Ronald and he got laid off when we were going through the process. No one told me about it and I had to ask. I'm assuming I wasn't the only client that Timothy, the rep, had to handle and he had multiple others that just kept asking. He always answered the phone when I called him and for whatever reason, if I didn't, he always got back to me quickly. Everything was good working with him. He was courteous and made sure all my questions were answered. Also, I’m happy with the rate of the mortgage. Working with HomeDirect impacted my life greatly. I have a house now, so that's good.

Tyson, the rep, was friendly and seemed to be knowledgeable when it came to his position, and the trends and factors for getting us approved. We felt we could trust him and work with him. He stayed in contact with us or helped us find a resolution. We got a conventional loan and it was easy to use the online feature during the application process. It wasn't challenging and it was very user-friendly. We were a new build and we were waiting on some things so the application and underwriting process took about 30 days. But I was comfortable with the process probably because of my prior lending experiences.

Their reps worked very professionally and diligently to help me close the loan. Julie, the rep I worked with, helped me with any questions I had and didn’t leave me questioning. I had questions about the loan and she broke it down on a separate document, identifying what cost meant, like the technical terms. I was very comfortable working with her. HomeDirect helped me buy my home fast and easy when I was in a hurry for the military. So, I benefited a lot. It’s the way to go when applying for a mortgage.

At first, I really liked the gal from HomeDirect Mortgage. I thought she was doing a great job. She’s in the mid-west, so she’s got this great personality. She was very responsive and she seemed to know exactly what she was doing that’s why I went with it. The beginning was very easy. She asked the documents sent to them. We’re in contact but it got real hairy around the closing. There were some questions that they had regarding we had one more payment on a special assessment and then that held things up. She dropped the ball on what our closing date was then nobody in the office would respond to me. Four or five days, we missed two closing dates.
It’s closing day and all I get is crickets. All they have to do is communicate. There’s no reason why they shouldn’t be communicating. Even my real estate agent tried to get ahold of them and she didn’t get any response from them either. My husband had to take off from work. We were kind of not knowing what was going on. When I got ahold of her, I got involved with getting information for her. And if she would’ve asked me that sooner or if she needed that information, I could’ve helped get that. We wouldn’t have missed two closing days. Everything was fantastic until we got to the end, and that was just communication. At the end, it was frustrating because this is the first mortgage that we’ve closed. I’ve never had this situation where I didn’t close on the closing date.

My real estate agent told me the rate that she was recently offered by HomeDirect, and it was a little lower than some of the other I heard around. Their application process was fairly simple and efficient. I worked with Timothy and he spent quite a bit of time on the phone with me before I applied, answering some questions I had. He was incredibly responsive to all of my phone calls and emails.

I wanted to refinance to lower the interest rate and at that time, HomeDirect was giving the best interest rate. The agent was also very responsive. After I reached out to the guy and left a voicemail, he reached back out to me and we went through the process for an approval. Then we locked the interest rate right away and proceeded with the standard process. I provided all the documents in a matter of weeks and that was how we ended up closing the refinancing process.
The process took about a month. Most of the information was filled by the agent himself. But I also went to the website, which was pretty straightforward and convenient. I created a login account and filled out a bunch of information. This is my fourth time through the mortgage process and HomeDirect is the most convenient I’ve filed with so far. The process was the smoothest compared to other processes I had gone through. The agent with whom I was dealing with for the entire process was very nice too. He was on top of the things.
Initially, we moved very fast but during the closing time period, things were a little bit delayed and there was a little bit of skepticism at the end of the process. There's a closing amount and I would need to hand over a cashier's check. A person contacted me and then we signed all the documents right before the closing. Then she said we could hand over the check to the person from the Connecticut escrow company and she would mail it to them. But it wasn’t very clear. I didn't know very well the person with whom I was meeting and she didn’t provide me any ID. I was handing over a cashier's check to somebody and there was a chance of being involved in fraud activities. I've heard a lot of stories about having frauds during the closing process. My wife and I were in a little panic mode.
This was a big amount we were handing over to somebody and we don't know that person. She was not even associated with either HomeDirect or the escrow company. She was just hired by the escrow company and the escrow company asked me to hand over my check to her. During the earlier process, the escrow company was in town and you go to the office in person and then they hand over the check. At least you know that things may not go wrong because you know the location and you meet the people face to face. You know they are a legit company. This time, the escrow company was in Connecticut. Everything is remotely handled, which is fine, but with the way the online fraud activities are going on, people are losing trust. Having a physical location makes people feel more comfortable with it being such a large transaction.
There was some skepticism on whether HomeDirect is legit or not. This is my fourth process and we never had this kind of experience where everything was remotely handled and we never got in touch with any physical person or physical location. They should provide some sort of evidence to the customer, like their location and their license number. Some sort of confidence needs to be given to a subscriber. We didn’t end up handing over the check to that person because we didn’t know her very well. But we got all the paperwork fine then we asked the escrow company to send us their wire transfer information. So it was one more day of delay but we eventually wire-transferred then we closed the process.
But after handing over the money, there wasn’t any follow-up. I was expecting somebody from HomeDirect to reach out to me, either through a phone call or an email, saying that they had received the fund, that everything with the refinancing process was complete and how much we would be expecting for the first month. But there wasn’t any communication. So I was a little skeptical then as well. I was wondering whether I really did the correct job. After a few days, I reached out and asked whether we were finished. The rep told me that our fund was in our account and not to worry about it. Those last four days during the closing time was a little inconvenient for me and my family.

I did most of it over the phone and from end to end, including all the paperwork that I had to email in, it took a couple of weeks. But that was more on my end. I had to do some stuff. The only hiccup that we encountered was close to closing. I was trying to adjust my APR to have the lending credits cover all my closing costs, and the closing cost came in a little higher than expected. But by the time I got that information, we didn't have time to adjust my closing cost. On the other hand, they were very personable. Erica was the representative I primarily saw and she was always available. I would call on the weekends and evenings because there were so many things and she was always open to talking and answering my questions. I would definitely recommend HomeDirect Mortgage.

I was buying a house and I went with HomeDirect Mortgage's VA loan program. HomeDirect's rates and fees were better and the people that I dealt with, Tyson and his team, were absolutely phenomenal to work with. I had contacted four different lenders. And we do our commercial and I do my personal banking with BOK. I contacted places like Veterans United and I made the assumption that because they do only VA loans, they would have better rates and so forth. And I was really disappointed. My local branch has always asked me, "Jo, why don't you reach out. When you're ready to buy another place, reach out and give us a shot." So I decided to do that. I called up. I got put in touch with Tyson.
Tyson walked me through the process and told me what their rates and fees were and gave me a list of things they needed. During the process, they needed one additional bit of information regarding some items that I had sold to process the down payment. So I provided that. And other than that, anytime they needed anything, he would put it through an email through the web portal, but also would pick up the phone and call me and say, "Jo, I sent you an email. I need X, Y and Z." I also worked with Donna, and she was also absolutely excellent to work with.
The application and underwriting process took probably 30 days, and the delays were because of scheduling, inspections and things that I needed to provide, and getting people out there. It's not in a metro area. The rates and terms of the mortgage were good. They were very competitive. What I bought was a combination factory and stick-built. And it's lakefront property over Grand Lake. Some people didn't wanna touch it. One of the lenders was 2 percentage points higher on the rate. For that type of loan, all you're gonna get is a 20-year loan. And I thought, "Okay, well, that's what I'm dealing with." Tyson said, "Jo, that's not correct. We do 30 years all the time. And that's what we're gonna do."
Working with HomeDirect got me the last home that I hope to ever buy and where I plan to retire. They made the process very customer friendly. They were very laid back and calm. Everything was like, "Don't worry about it. It's not an issue. We got it covered." It made the whole process comfortable and far less stressful. I have already recommended HomeDirect to a couple of friends.

I was very comfortable working with her and I didn't feel like any question was looked upon as a stupid question. Everything was answered professionally and like it was a valued concern. To finance a property I was purchasing, I looked into getting a mortgage and ended up with a 30-year conventional loan with HomeDirect. I filled out some quote online to get pricing. Based on that indicative pricing, HomeDirect is competitive relative to what I’ve seen from other lenders, and they don’t amend words after providing the additional information that they needed. They were able to stay at that rate.
The application process, giving them the information, took less than a day and then they got through it within a few business days. We had set an outside closing date already, so we were working towards that. Although, we could have done things more quickly. There wasn’t much work in the last couple of weeks. All in all, it took 30 days but it could’ve been done in half that time. Given where we were in the process and how much time we had, with a set closing date that was achievable, they weren’t really under any pressure to move much quicker than that. But overall, they did a good job. Tyson was on the ball all the time and very timely in correspondence. I was pleased with him. We put in a search for one of the better mortgage companies that had lower interest rate that deals with VA loans. And HomeDirect came up as one of the lower interest rates that we had noticed. So we opted to go with them. We put in an online request and a representative called us back. His name was Josh and he was very, very pleasant right away to deal with. We told him that we were looking for a VA loan, and he seemed very well-versed with VA loans and experienced which was what we were looking for.
Whenever Josh needed something from us or we needed something from them during the whole process, it was pretty easy to get ahold of him whether via phone or email. He was on vacation one time when I sent him an email that our house had just been put under contract for the sale of our home, but he called me right away and was really excited for us. Then he let us know what the next step would be in the home purchase. Also, he was upfront. If there was ever any concerns about the credit report that was coming back, he would let us know right away. He gave us pointers, and he was very good at what he does. He was outstanding all the way through getting the documentation that he needed and then answering my questions and up to closing. He made the process seamless. The process wouldn't have gone smooth without him being on the ball all the time with what was going on.
Another reason we went with HomeDirect was because there didn't appear to be as many junk fees hidden with them. They were upfront. We wouldn't have found a better rate anywhere else. Now, we're in the house that we wanted to be in. Our quality of life has gone up quite a bit, and that's all thanks to what Josh had done for us there with getting us squared away. Everything was really smooth for the most part. Some of the other places that we had gone to required a significant amount of information before even providing us with a preapproval letter. We were able to get a preapproval letter so we could put an offer on the house that we wanted, which was awesome for us because we were able to get the house rather than wait days and days for a preapproval. Julianne already knew us and our history and income, which made it a lot easier and faster. We got the house that we wanted and the rate that we wanted.
The only issue that we had was when we were about to close on the home, up until the point of purchasing the home, I was the only borrower on the loan. There was never a message that stated, “We now have to put your husband on the loan.” I work on a commission basis, so my commission didn’t fully qualify for income. So, they put my husband on the loan, which was fine. But when we went to close, his name wasn’t on any of the documents for closing because we didn’t know, and none of that was conveyed to the closing attorney. I went through a relocation program. They gave me four different lenders to check with. I called each. Two of them were not competitive price-wise but two were. Of the two, I’ve had experience with the other one and I know them to be a good company, but I know them to be slow. So, at that time, given that I knew that HomeDirect would treat me well and they had competitive pricing, that’s where I went.
There were various back and forth on the application. HomeDirect was looking for information, gathering right information submitted, and eventually get to the loan docs, and everything went smoothly. Meanwhile, I am still sitting here and I assume everything is fine, but I don't know.
I was not getting any feedback at all. I have a friend that is a realtor and he called and asked how things were going. I said that I didn't know and that I couldn't get a hold of the finance people. I am not getting a lot of communication. That was the only issue that I had with the whole process with it. The people that were left there after their reduction in force were picking it up. The application and underwriting process went about less than a week or right at a week. I have a lending background. Whenever they said, they needed something from somewhere, I would say that I knew what they're asking for and that I'll go handle it. So, that made a difference. I should have shopped around a little more, but, at that point, it was all about what would be convenient. I could have gotten a little better rate somewhere else it wasn't gonna be enough to make a big difference. It all worked out nevertheless.

I was changing homes and the realtor referred me to HomeDirect Mortgage. I then ended up with a VA loan. Everything was done very promptly. There wasn’t any waiting time with HomeDirect. The whole process took around 30 days. The rate that I received was fine. It was within the mortgage and it was competitive. I had interaction with two people, Aspen and Michelle, and it was a great experience with both of them. Aspen and her team did a great job for us, and we are very pleased. I am happy to recommend.

The new guy wasn’t as aware as the other guy was and that was unfortunate. There were communication issues in the sense that he wasn’t communicating back to us in a timely fashion, too. But, other than that, HomeDirect Mortgage resolved most of our issues and the rate was good.

I signed up with HomeDirect Mortgage. It was for a refinance. At the time I picked it, they had the lowest interest rate among three competitors. I ended up going with a VA loan. What I like about it is that I don't have to put 20% down. However, I initially reached out a few months earlier. It was a long waiting game because we had to wait for seven months. But once I got started, it was simple because I got Matt. He just told me what I needed and I was able to forward them to him. He was also able to be on-call. I called him a few times like nine o’clock at night or off hours. He was driving home and he was able to stop and take my call. Everything was straightforward. And then somebody came to my house and I did the refinancing with the notary. Overall, I'm satisfied with HomeDirect Mortgage.

The lending process was quick and easy, and the underwriting was much easier. I was happy with their rate and terms. Working with HomeDirect has saved me money. I went for the VA loan and HomeDirect's service was stellar. They switched a couple of representatives but outside of changing people, the service was great. They always reached out to me. It was a lengthy mortgage process but that was because of how much paperwork I had to provide - getting all of my financial information, documents, taxes and all the things that I have.
On their end, though, they would have to be more clear with the process of putting in the deposit on the house. Everybody works with different things and might do things a bit differently so, as far as getting that initial statement to show how much money was put down from the account, there could be some format like asking what bank do I bank with and then telling me how that bank does things. It should make that process a bit easier. Sometimes, not particularly in my case but maybe for somebody else down the line, they can miss their window for their offer trying to get that last bit of information.

We were living in a small apartment and our family got bigger and so we decided to look for a better place to live. We got into a newly built house and we love that place. It was my first home purchase. Initially, I was trying to get a mortgage loan from Alaska USA, but a friend of mine talked me into trying HomeDirect Mortgage. HomeDirect gave me an interest rate that was a lot better than other banks so I decided to go with them. I submitted my application in less than a day and then I got a call from Brian. He told me that I was pre-approved and ready to go forward with the mortgage.
HomeDirect made the whole lending process super easy for me. We also appreciated how smooth the transition was from starting the process until the closing. Everything was great. I thought it was going to be a super hard process by going through all the paperwork and all the steps but Brian was great. He was on top of everything and was always calling me and giving me updates. I was just logging in to the portal and signing documents. However, some issues came up and Brian was out of my process on the closing. But Sam came and he was great as well. My wife and I really appreciated the way those two reps treated us. I have a couple of friends in my town who are about to start building homes and I have directed them to HomeDirect.

We were moving so we were buying a new home in a different state. I was on Zillow looking for houses and HomeDirect came up. I figured that I would give them a shot and see what they've got. So, I texted their number and a guy responded. He told me what their rates were and I thought these were good. When I got it from my other lender, and then I talked to them, they beat it with not only percentage-wise, they beat it with the money they give you. And then when I called the other lady, she said she can match it. So, we waited one more day to see if it was gonna go down, and it did. So we locked it.
At first, it was the rep, Brian, who was working with me, but then halfway through the processing of my loan he got fired but nobody called to tell me. So, I made a phone call because I kept emailing and got no response. I spoke to Jim and he helped me. He was very nice and awesome.
The application process was simple because I had my stuff down with the other lender that I had before and all I had to do was forward all that stuff. The lending process took a week. It was pretty quick for me because I had all my stuff already and I didn’t have to go back and forth. The rates and terms that I received were better than what I was originally expecting. When I got the rate from my other lender and then talked to HomeDirect, they beat these not only percentage-wise but with the credit that they gave me. Then, when I called the other lady, she said that she could match that. So, we waited one more day to see if the rate was gonna go down and it did. Then we locked it and it was really nice. I got the best rate and it was a really good rate.
They shouldn't sell the loan though. I hate it when lenders sell my loan and more people don’t like that too. Also, if HomeDirect is gonna fire somebody and he’s not gonna be there anymore, at least let the consumers know and tell them that somebody is gonna take over. Other than that, everything else was great and I would definitely recommend HomeDirect.

I was buying a new home and was looking online watching rates through Zillow. HomeDirect Mortgage had the most competitive rates and also very customer-focused. Their application process was very expeditious and better than the application process when we bought the other two homes, but it had been over a decade since we bought a house. With being electronic now and being able to e-sign things, the process was very seamless, and we were able to get all this done in 30 days, which is amazing. Julie, one of their lending officers, was phenomenal.
The only thing that created a little bit of confusion was the first person we were working with got released from the company, and there were new steps they started that was told to me. I got an email from the gentleman that he's no longer with the company and I will be working with Julie. Julie picked up right away and handled the case. The change may have been on a Friday, and she worked all weekend with me electronically to try and get up to speed as opposed to waiting until Monday because we were trying to close quickly in the house.
In terms of the final rates and terms, they were really good. But I wish we would've locked in two days prior because they went to 3.375%, then they were able to bounce up to 3.6%. It was 4.2% a week before that and then dropped down into 3.375% at one day. Between the owner and us, and the paperwork going back and forth for offerings, it took a couple of days to do that. We have been looking for a house for a year, and we were looking at 4.142%. All of a sudden, we locked at 3.65% so we're happy with that.

But I had an unusual circumstance being that my wife was active duty and so was I. We were just moving. I just relocated from North Carolina to New York. I wanted a new home and I initially started getting a loan through Bank of Oklahoma. I called their local branch in Oklahoma City and they put me in contact with HomeDirect. So I got in touch and they set me up with a loan agent. The rate and terms of the mortgage that I got were fair. I also went through all the steps and processes of providing the information necessary to obtain the loan. We worked on it for a month right up until the five days prior to the closing date itself.
I provided the documentation that was asked for upfront, which should have been sufficient to get me approved for the loan, but they kept coming back every week wanting secondary and supplemental to the secondary until within a week prior to closing. And the stuff that they continued to ask for was ridiculous. I understand part of that may have been because my wife is new to the country and she is on the note with me. But that was explained upfront as well and there wasn’t any credit history on hers.
The loan agent said that it was because somebody in the underwriters was just trying to cover their butts, but for me if you couldn't pull up my credit report and look at the records that I already sent you and tell that there shouldn't be any problem, then somebody was running paranoid. I even got into a little heated argument with Dan, the rep I was working with. I told him how I felt and that if I had known that it would be that difficult, I would've went a different route.

The original loan that we had on the house went through a mortgage broker, then HomeDirect purchased our mortgage from that brokerage. I then got a cold call from Tyson of HomeDirect giving me all the different options that they had for us. He explained how much savings there would be over the term of the loan on this mortgage versus our previous mortgage. He said that if we wanted to take advantage of the offer, they could help us and we could work things out. So I talked to my wife and she said go ahead. We had some things come up that we wanted to take care of and streamline, so we applied for a conventional refinance. We cut down the number of years on our term and took our loan from a 30-year term to a 15-year term.
To obtain the refi, we looked at the numbers, filled out the application, went through the approval process, and we had to get a bunch of documents. Then they went to appraisal and underwriting, and finalized the loan. While the online application was fine, it was comical that we had to jump through so many hoops to refinance a mortgage that HomeDirect already owned. In fact, the whole process took three months.
However, the steps that we went through to secure the loan were long and excruciating, and they have to streamline the lending process. For the longest time, there was a lot of documentation and paperwork, and they needed a lot of information which I didn’t feel was necessary since they already owned our mortgage. But Tyson and his assistant were good about keeping us aware of what stage we were in and requesting documents. Tyson talked very well and stayed in contact, and he was on top of things. If he didn’t answer his phone, he returned the call. A couple of times, he even returned phone calls later in the evening when it was after office hours. The rates and terms of the refi that we received were good and fair. I highly recommend HomeDirect.

But the people who took over were on top of things and the transition was good. However, we ended up getting frustrated towards the end because we were not able to close when we were supposed to. There were a couple of internal documents that needed to get sent out at a certain point, and HomeDirect was unable to do so we ended up having to close five days after that. They were a little more conservative on things, and while other lenders could have done it, they just didn't. And I was impressed with them because it was the first one that gave me a straight out answer to my question without leading me to a bunch of stuff and asking all kinds of questions. And I really enjoyed talking to the young man I dealt with. I was pleased with him. He gave me straightforward answers. He gave me a better interest rate than I expected. And that was one of the things that helped seal the deal. I ended up going with a VA refinance. I had to submit our information, our work history and who we owed money to. I was totally satisfied with with HomeDirect. So far, my experience with them is good. I feel very comfortable. They’re a trustworthy organization.

I did the preliminary signatures to apply for the mortgage with HomeDirect. The sellers of the house and I came to a price, then we got a hold of David, the loan officer that was recommended to me, and had the papers that we signed. And then I had to get insurance and got my CPA get on my taxes in order. I submitted those, and in a couple of weeks, it all came back and got approved.
Everybody from HomeDirect Mortgage was terrific and everything was handled in the most pleasing way. David was terrific to work with and was willing to explain things. I’ve never bought a home before and I didn't have a lot to do with numbers and taxes. David was very personable and didn’t act like it was inconvenient. We were able to call him after hours because I work all day and I couldn’t take time on the phone. He also taught me how to email what I needed since I didn't know how to email before. It was just a good experience. I give a lot of credit to David for keeping my mind open and at peace while I was going through the process. I couldn’t have asked for somebody to walk me through that like he did.
However, right now, I got a paper that said my mortgage has been sold to a Freddie something. Why didn’t they check with me if I wanted it sold? I was informed when I first set up my mortgage that I could give partial payments or double payments or anytime I could and designate it to go to the principal. Yet it sounds like on this letter that things have changed a little. I need to get time and all the paperwork, so I could call them and ask some questions. Nonetheless, I was very satisfied with all of my experience working with David.

The people who managed my account at HomeDirect did a great job. My rep did an amazing job and although he was leaving to go on a vacation during the middle of the process, whoever took over did a great job as well. On the other hand, the underwriters could stay to make sure that they got their job done before they leave the office. Whoever was on it left early and didn’t finish up their paperwork. This happened on multiple occasions to where I almost lost the house. I had to have everything pushed back multiple times so that was frustrating. If there was a deadline and I was signing it at 11:00 AM in the morning, it would have been nice to have my closing documents the day before, instead of leaving the office at 4:00, which was what was happening. There was a lot of stress that went with it. But I got the house so I’m happy. I had a hard time finding a mortgage before that. I would’ve liked rates that are a little bit better but I’ll just refinance later.

I was buying a place and doing a VA loan, and I was originally gonna go with a local mortgage but then I looked online and saw HomeDirect's rates. It was a lot cheaper than the local ones'. In fact, I called six places and out of all the places, Kerry and HomeDirect beat everyone else's percentage by about 1%, which is like $100,000 over a 30-year mortgage. I actually asked those other people what I should ask Kerry if there was something shady about it. I did exactly what they said and Kerry gave me great answers. He was like, "Nope, nope. Don't do that, do this." And it was 100% legit. So I definitely got the best deal I could've possibly gotten.
All of the process was online too, so it wasn't too complicated. That was pretty easy and my broker was great. We worked together really well and he has a good team as well. More than my realtor and my lawyer, Kerry was the easiest person to work with in the process that I went through. I actually have recommended him two times already to two other people who were looking for a house.

We needed to go for a lower interest rate for our mortgage and as I was going through LendingTree, HomeDirect was one of those that came up. I shot them off an email explaining everything I wanted. They came back with exactly all the information and a couple of questions. And to go further down the line on questions basically, everything their rep said at the beginning, transpired in a great way and a good format. We got the 30-year refinance. If I had a question, they were answered correctly. And if they didn’t know the answer right away, they’d say they’d get back which they did. I didn’t have to hem and haw and scratch my head. I was very comfortable working with them.
But what I am most impressed with was the online application. It made the process easy ‘cause I could plug in the numbers in the site. Then, they would send a task and I would copy or send them PDF files of everything they needed. Bit by bit, I checked them all off, and pretty soon, it was all done. Although I would have liked the rates to be a little less, but considering our circumstances, they have dropped even since then. I was very pleased overall with the whole experience. Working with them made us sleep a little easier at night. Anytime I could save money month to month helps.

We were referred to Tyson, the HomeDirect rep that we worked with, by another soldier. Tyson was wonderful with communication and letting us know what was gonna happen at each time. We got documentation back and forth very promptly and we also worked with Donna, the assistant that handled most of our documentation with him. The application and underwriting process involved a lot of paperwork and numerous documents got requested multiple times. But it was no worse than what I've had with other mortgages. Also, except for the last minute stuff, which seems to happen at every closing, I don't have any complaints at all about their process. Aside from that, we got a lot more money at a less rate than I was anticipating going in. So I'm very happy about that and I don't know if we'd get in this home without HomeDirect.

I also worked with Michelle who was helpful. When I got frustrated because they were asking for some of the same documents over again, they explained to me that it was a Homeland Security requirement, which I then understood. This was my third home mortgage and before, it has never been explained to me. Other than that, the initial application took about half an hour. The whole underwriting thing though took a while. Still, HomeDirect Mortgage bent over backward to help me close my loan. They were great. I would love to work with them again.

I wanted to buy a home and HomeDirect had the best rate going at that time. It did go up but still, it was not as high as the others'. It was right where I could manage. The next good thing about this is that you don't have to pay a lending fee. Most banks have a lending fee and it's a high lending fee. Most of the representatives at HomeDirect Mortgage also got back to me very quickly and they were very courteous.
They had two persons working with me, Ryan and Eric, and I was waiting for a week to hear what was going on. When I called, the guy said they were no longer with HomeDirect. At that point, I was closing in two days. I asked him what was I supposed to do and he was so good. He came through and everything was marvelous. I was impressed with his willingness to help. He wasn't like, "Okay, we'll have to wait and see." He was right there. He apologized then he got everybody on board and all was right and on track. I was at work but he also worked late and he would get back to me. He sent emails late, like after 8:00, and he did a really good job. He sent the paperwork to the loan and the closing department, and everything was done on time.
I wanted them to get back to me though. I would have liked an email to stay updated instead of me getting to them. I was the one calling them and getting someone, and I had to call a couple of times to find out what was going on. But the people who were working this stuff were nice. Everything was fine and I had no problems with them. When I talked to them, they were right there to get back to me and send emails. Everything was done in a jiffy. The process went really fast. It was very good at the end. It wasn't even three days that they got back to me and everything was okay. I was granted the loan. Everything, as far as the banks and the loan, was exceptional. The online application process was very good too. They sent me the application and I started filling it out. So I was surprised it was quick. Their work was good and I was satisfied to have gone through with this.

HomeDirect Mortgage was very transparent. I did my due diligence and researched. I applied for three separate company loans, and HomeDirect was the one who stood out. Daniel worked with me and he was very knowledgeable and transparent in everything that he communicated with me. And he followed up with me constantly but not being pushy and annoying like sometimes these things can be. He gave me information and facts, and he let me make my own decision and would check in every few days. Any time I asked a question, he replied to me in a very timely manner. We talked on the phone. We emailed. I would be up late working on stuff, and I’d shoot him a question, and oddly enough, he would answer even though it was late. And I would email him late at night not expecting a response, but he would actually respond. And he called me. He really was awesome. So, it was a great experience.
The process was very easy. I applied and uploaded all of my information online. And then I heard back from Daniel the following day if not two days later. I was very happy with how easy it was. From beginning to end, the process was not very long. It was around 30 days. Everything went very well. Also, the rate and terms was what I expected. Daniel gave me the rates on a regular basis, which was one of the things that I was trying to decide on because I applied to three different companies. I dropped the first one almost immediately because they were a little bit outrageous. But between HomeDirect and another company, what I was looking up on was the rate. When we got a real estate agent to reach out for us, we told her that we weren't comfortable with Veterans United. She recommended Mark from HomeDirect.
Mark kept us apprised. He would call us at least twice a week to check on us and see how we were doing, and how everything was going even when we were in the waiting process. The application process at HomeDirect was straightforward and simple. While there were a few times where specific military documents they needed weren't easy to come by and it was a little difficult, they walked us through everything. The application process was straightforward. The HomeDirect portal that Nate had set up was easy to use and was able to upload all my files for all the tasks that he created. The process was completed for about four days. The pre-approval, the approval and the first round of underwriting went well. It was easy in the first week or two. I had to send to my mortgage person proof of employment, but they didn’t send it to the underwriter, or the underwriter lost it or something happened.
I would totally recommend HomeDirect to anybody that was looking for a mortgage. I’m glad to know that HomeDirect has the backing of BOK in Oklahoma, so it is an actual Oklahoma company, not based out of another state. It was a big thing for my wife as well. She really liked it because the last mortgage that we had was set up a bit weird.

We have worked with HomeDirect last year for a new home purchase so we went back with them again. I was very satisfied in my interaction with their customer service. The rep worked fast and he got the job done. The whole process was easy and it was completed in three weeks. The mortgage rates I received were a bit higher, but I guess the rates were kinda following up at that time so it was not anyone’s fault. We locked the rate and then the rates went lower although it wasn’t that much different. The fees were lower too and it was very comparable. Given my experience, I’ll be happy to work with HomeDirect next time around for a refinance.

The application process was fairly easy. My experience with them went good and I didn't have any issues. They are out in Oklahoma, while we are out in Florida, so some of the things were a little different, but they all got rectified. The guy I was using to sign everything was Chad and everything went smoothly. Anytime I had a question, I could call. The rate and terms of the mortgage I received were outstanding. It was a little better than I thought I was gonna get. I would use HomeDirect again if I have to.

HomeDirect had a better rate than any other local companies. I called them and sent some of my information that everybody asked for. The application was good. It's about what you do anywhere with the local place. They did well, allowing a mix of emailed replies and just straight-up dumping the documents on my website. But because they had layoffs right in the middle of the process, the process was extended out. We had to switch loan officers halfway through. It was probably a month before we got it finalized. Even so, the communication was solid throughout, and that's the most important part. I talked to the rep on the phone several times and I emailed back and forth, and every time, they were pleasant interactions and had good response times.
My request to HomeDirect was to do something that isn't very common. It was doing a mortgage recast where we're up to 5% down, and then have a lump sum after we ended up selling our house. A lot of lenders I talked to weren't really aware of what the rules were for that or how it all worked. I talked to several people when I was shopping the mortgage, and John seemed to know right away what I was talking about and was able to find the rules and give me some of those rules. It was nice that he was aware of what I was talking about and that he was well-trained.

We were looking to do a cash-out refinance. We had worked with HomeDirect Mortgage a couple of years prior and we had a good experience with them so we decided to go with them again. The process was easy. We contacted the same person who helped me the first time, Ryan, and he was excellent. The process had a little bit of paperwork involved but overall, the process was smooth and painless. The application and underwriting process took a month and a half or so. Ryan was very professional. I emailed him and he called me back literally within an hour or two. He and the rest of his team were great, very responsive and kept us informed of what was going on. They were able to give us the best rate on both times when we refinanced a couple years ago and when we did this cash-out refinance.
The rates and the terms of the mortgage were fine. We knew that the market had gone bad in terms of interest rates. The prime lending rate had increased, the Fed had increased that, so we knew that we weren’t gonna be able to keep the rate that we had gotten a couple of years ago. We knew that going in, so Ryan did his best to work with us and get us as lower rate as possible. And we did a bit of a trade off too. We went up an eight of a point so we had a bit more of a lender credit to go against our closing cost. He was very clear and upfront. He worked with us in terms of the amount of money that we wanted to get back to the cash-out piece of it. So, the experience was fine. There was complete transparency and we knew what we were getting.

When we bought a new home, one of my friends recommended HomeDirect for a mortgage application. We tried a couple of other lenders too but HomeDirect was able to give the best offer. I worked with two reps and they were responsive. Whenever I had questions or called, they contacted me quickly. The only hiccup that we had was that the application and underwriting process took about a month and the final closing date had to be moved by a couple of days. I think the time it took for the underwriting process could be streamlined. I was getting asked for documents multiple times.
There were a few documents that weren't available immediately, so we had to wait until they were uploaded on our main account before getting back. So, if there was a clear set of requirements and if they had asked for everything at one go, it will be less time spent on my side to get everything done. That aside, the mortgage rate that I received at the time was good and it was competitive because others were also doing similar rates.

About seven different companies were trying to get my business but Richard, the gentleman that I talked to from Bank of Oklahoma, was so helpful, courteous and caring. His assistant was really splendid too. Between the two of them, I couldn’t go wrong in applying for a mortgage. I didn’t realize customer service was still alive to that degree. They were unbelievable. I could send an e-mail at nine o’clock at night, California time, and it was answered by 9:30. I applied with another bank previously that seemed good and they were just gonna send me a rough idea of what they could do and they couldn’t send it to me in English. I didn’t know what language it was. I speak Portuguese and Spanish and it wasn’t even in German. How would they ever get my paperwork straight? On the other hand, Richard took the time to explain what I needed.
With HomeDirect Mortgage, my experience was pleasant and there were no condescending lines from them. Plus, their terms were untouchable by anybody else. Richard got me a VA loan and it was right in the area of 3.7% and that was assumable. When I was in my closing documents meeting with both the real estate companies and the lady from the escrow company, no one could believe the rate that I got. Everybody couldn’t believe that he got the VA to do that. He did it totally legally. HomeDirect Mortgage picked up all the loose ends all the time and there were no surprises. I was an existing HomeDirect customer and as I went to purchase my new home, I found that it might be easier to first see what the options were with them. They weren't my first choice as I started the home-buying process, but their speed made me choose them. I went online through the HomeDirect website and reached out to them. I connected with Kerry and he was so speedy in getting information back to me.
On my first home, I was purchasing completely by myself. And as I was purchasing the second home, I was engaged. So, they looked at two people's finances and considered the credit history of two people instead of one. It definitely made the process a bit more complicated, trying to find the best interest rate just with trying to get all the information together from both of us, but Kerry was very quick at that.
As I started to work with Kerry, the person who had initially helped me with my first house, Tamara, had reached out and said that she could help me if I wanted to keep my business with her. So, I started working with her and right as I were to lock in the rate with her, she left HomeDirect. So, that was when the process got a little more complicated, as I was trying to decide if it was a good idea to go to HomeDirect. They were unable to lock the rate in before she quit and I got hung out to dry.
The interest rate went up a couple of days later, which wasn't a great situation. The rate wasn't where I wanted it to be, but it ended up working out just fine. The process took two weeks from start to finish, but there were definitely some bonuses on my side. I was trying to get all of the correct information with Kerry and his team and making those final decisions. But I felt like it was still a quick process once the final application went in and the underwriting process began.
HomeDirect Mortgage could improve communication between corporate and the local person. Being able to share and access information across personnel and the organization was definitely a part of the struggle, which was why locking in the interest rate was such an ordeal. I submitted my application information and the statement history twice. They weren't able to share that information or get access to it quick enough through their internal system and I had to upload it online. As a whole though, the experience ended up really well. Ultimately, I worked with Kerry and his assistant and would definitely recommend working with them. I'd also advise sticking with whoever you start with.

Every person is different and not every mortgage company meets the need and the budget of every person. That’s something for each person to find out for themselves. I like the idea that I could work with someone from the loan application all the way to the end of the mortgage. I didn’t have to worry about who my loan was gonna be sold to and if it was gonna be sold to a lender that I didn’t like. I felt good about HomeDirect.
This mortgage was for a purchase and the online application process was relatively simple, compared to the process I went through for previous homes in terms of the things that I had to deal with. It was mostly just putting together a group of documents and it was pretty streamlined. HomeDirect didn’t need all of the bank statements. I also liked working with Conner. He very knowledgeable and direct, and there was not a whole lot of BS. I was pleased with the process overall. I didn’t have any real hang-ups. He touched my patriotic heart with his conversation. It was an awesome experience and I would refer him to anybody.
I then went through the VA loan process and it was easy. I didn't even feel like I was going through a process. Within minutes, the guy came back to me with a rate that beat another bank's rate. The only thing was, there was a lot of employment verification. They could have just focused on the 1040, which is the formal document you use to report your income to the government, and that would have been it. Then, I work up on the Slopes, so that made it even more difficult trying to get paperwork done. I tried signing papers up there, but some paperwork wasn’t included in the packet. So, we decided to just wait till I got back in town to finish doing all the paperwork. I had good communication with HomeDirect. We were going back and forth. There were many issues with getting things done to the house to make everybody happy and to be able to sell it and there were also repairs. We had to go through that whole process. The customer service reps were open with me and anytime I had a question or if there was something going on, they contacted me right away. They were very polite and it was a good interaction.
The rate and terms of the mortgage were good and for where the stock prices were at the time, it was the best I could get. However, I would like HomeDirect to do a little more due diligence on paperwork because there were a couple of times where they got the paperwork mixed up. I ended up having to send three different checks because they kept on messing things up and things kept on getting scrolled around. Sometimes, some areas of the paperwork were a little confusing and we had to go back-and-forth but other than that, everything else was smooth. I used HomeDirect before and everything went nicely and smoothly. This time, everything kept on changing rapidly that it was hard to keep up with everybody in the loop.

I was shopping online for refinance and HomeDirect was the first to respond to me. Mark did a great job. He and I engaged quickly on different financial products and which one worked best for me. The process of getting from HomeDirect down to the Bank of Oklahoma with Mark was efficient and I was able to start talking to him within a day or two. The whole process took eight weeks from first contact to closing and I was comfortable with that pace. The closing cost and lender fees were good and I was happy.

HomeDirect Mortgage was one of the lowest rates that I found when I went to Zillow. I went directly to the online and sent my information. About a couple hours later, I received a call from Erica. Erica was the person that helped me throughout the whole refinance process. She was really good. She sounded like she knew what she was doing. I decided to go through the process of pulling my credit report and having to qualify for the refinance loan, which she did very quickly. So, I was very excited about that. We ran through some humps, some things that she’s never experienced before, and we struggled through those, but we pulled through. So, that was good. I’m very happy with the rates and terms of the mortgage.
I commend Erica. She handled my loan and she was really good. I ended up getting a little negative towards the end, but she was still very positive. She continued to go through the process of explaining things even though I gave up. I’m most happy about that. Instead of a 35-year mortgage, I only have a 25-year mortgage now. The interest rate is lower, which means that I can put more money towards the principal which is really good. So, it makes me and my wife feel good to know that whenever we make a payment, we’re actually contributing more to the bottom line of the home than just interest.

I was working with several different people and I came across HomeDirect through a referral. They were the better deal so I decided to get a VA loan from them. When I applied, I filled out some paperwork and submitted some documents like basic proof of insurance. It was a simple process and it wasn’t difficult. My lender pretty much took care all of the stuff. I also felt comfortable doing the application online. It was time-consuming and stuff but it was pretty good. Also, the whole process didn’t take no more than about a month and a week to complete.
The officer I worked with was Mark and he and his assistant would call and tell me whatever they needed. I liked the fact that I could also call them and be in contact with them. I didn't have to leave voicemails and ask them to call me back later. Then on top of it, when the situation was over, they would always still call me to follow-up. I thought that was good because a lot of people, once they got you, that’s it. But HomeDirect's reps were very professional. Other than that, I like the fact that they were fast and that the process went smoothly.
