Three cancelled flights in 3 days and they do nothing. Now I am stuck, cannot rebook using the app. Called and waited 4+ hours and then got disconnected. Tried the text feature and dealt with 4+ hour wait times as well. Agent found a flight 4 days after original flight but only first class available. Did they offer this free of charge? Nope, wanted me to pay for it. No one should have to wait hours upon hours for customer service to get absolutely nothing except for a survey. It is a disgrace when other airlines will gladly put you in first class when they have to cancel flights. Horrible, incompetent airline. Will never fly again!!

Worst airline in the sky! Do not fly with them! Zero customer service! Canceled our 5 am first-class flight from Seattle to Austin at 11 pm the night before. Only option available was a main cabin on the wing, by charging us emergency fees, even though they cancelled our flight forcing us to rebook on a different flight, crappier seats, baggage & emergency fees, no inflight meal/drink options. No discounts nor refunds offered. We will be cancelling all future travel with Delta, cancelling the credit card and sky miles. Worst airline in the sky! 1 star is too much credit for this trash company! Never flying Delta again after this experience and we travel a lot! Run away and never use this company for any circumstance! Comparable to Southwest! We recommend Alaska Airlines!

Hi, On 11/17/21 I was flying DFW to MIAMI. At layover point in LGA, I was offered an alternate flight to original destination. Under the impression that this is an adjustment for Covid concerns, I agreed to the flight change assuming there are no reward or cost involved.

Later I was charged 11500 miles on my frequent flyer account that I did not expected. I was promised this would be corrected and returned. I was tracking this under Case Number - **. If Delta representative will start penalizing unsuspecting passengers under the false impression of Covid concerns, Then people will be more conservative in trusting them which not good for the airlines or other passengers.

Considering the fact that Delta did not responded in 30 day time limit, and did not corrected unauthorized mile deduction, its recent business practices are not customer friendly. Charges were not made on credit card so it cannot be disputed. Now Delta does not honor and protect miles balance in a way they claimed while promoting their card and flights. Please be aware and don't count on your miles to be available when you need them.

Delta Airlines is a money hungry, greedy company that doesn't care about disabled people at all. On 04/2021 bought tickets to Jamaica. Upgraded to first class during checkout. We never been first class. Trip was planned for 1/27/22 - 2/4/22. My wife and I are both disabled and have a fixed Social Security income only, this trip was a surprise to happen during her birthday after dealing with Covid 19 for over a year of staying indoors. We didn't go anywhere other than dr appt since we both have poor immune systems. This trip was planned on the tail end of Covid 19. Who knew there would be variants still to come in the future. Well on 12/09/21 we cancelled our trip as the Delta variant is in full swing and the new Omicron was taking off.

So figured this day and age with Covid and still over 1 1/2 month before our trip would have been we would get ecredits for our total purchase price of the tickets. WRONG. Delta just gave us ecredits for our basic seat price and told me there is no credits for first class and I forfeited the upgrade. SOOOO they just made over $1000 of free money and will be able to resell my first class seats to other people. If I was rich I would care but I overextended myself buying these upgrades being on a fixed income and just to be totally ignored as disabled isn't right and I never pull the DCARD. Customer service transferred me to 3 people. Each one saying the same that I will not be getting credit for the upgrades, So future flyers take note. DELTA AIR JUST DOESN'T CARE.

Last July I had to enter the hospital emergency ward with a lung disorder that had me in the hospital for 16 days. I could not fly on my appointed date and attempted to reach out to Delta to request a credit so I could fly when healthy again. The telephone waits were up to 7 hours. I wrote to Delta Customer Care 4 separate times, sent 2 separate fax communications to customer care (with confirmations they were received) and finally wrote a letter to Ed Bastian, Delta's CEO. I outlined the situation and informed Delta I am a senior citizen and disabled. I have never once received a response from Delta. Not one single response. Delta has demonstrated what may be the most horrible example of customer service in existence. Absolutely disgraceful. I will never travel with this airline again.

On October 17th 2021, I was returning home to Seattle from San Jose on Delta flight DL3768 at 7:30pm. After we boarded the plane and sat in the cabin for a few minutes, the pilot informed us of a 15-20 minute take-off delay. Not a big deal. There was a thunderstorm in Tacoma, and SEATAC had slowed the number of landings they would accept. This seemed fine to me and completely reasonable.

About 20 minutes later, the pilot let us know the wait was now 45 minutes. Real nice, but also not Delta’s fault. Around 8:30, she came back on the intercom one last time to tell us the delay was now two hours. It was then she announced we were going to unload the plane and they would let us mill about the airport until it was time to leave.

A handful of us had a sorely needed margarita at the Mexican bar that was right next to our gate, but the kitchen was closed. Having had no dinner, I wandered farther down the terminal in search of protein. This was around 9:05. After a small and mediocre sandwich, I came back to the gate to find it completely empty - no passengers, no staff, and even the monitors were dark. It was around 9:30 now, and I’d only been out of earshot for about 25 minutes before returning to this Twilight Zone episode.

I couldn’t find my flight on any of the arrival or departure screens, and there were no Delta employees in sight. In fact, the entire airport seemed suddenly abandoned. At 10pm, I finally found someone who worked at Delta who was manning a gate where a flight had just arrived. After a brief verbal exchange that sounded like a “Who’s On First” routine about where I had come from and what I was asking about, she was finally able to pull up the information on my missing airplane.

They took off without me. My flight had left a half an hour ago. There was no airport-wide announcement that the flight was boarding (and I was listening to a paranoid degree). They didn’t call my name or look for missing passengers, and they left an entire hour before they said they were going to. This part was Delta’s fault. More than that, it felt almost personal. I know how long it takes to board a plane, and the answer is not 25 minutes. I’m trying to imagine the mad scramble it must have taken to get the plane fully boarded and off the ground while my back was turned, like an episode of Punk’d or Jackass. I must have just missed them when I returned to the gate. Just to twist the knife a little harder, they took my luggage – the roller bag they forced me to check because they overbooked the flight – to Seattle without me.

I assumed the woman that was helping me would put me on the next flight out, and she did – for 7am. Say what now? How can there not be any flights for the next 9 hours? I wasn’t offered any accommodations or reimbursements despite the fact that it was Delta’s fault I was stranded. After doing the math, I realized I would only get four or five hours of sleep if I left the airport and came back, so I stayed there. After 11, the terminal became an absolute ghost town. Even the shops shut down. I stayed there all night with the fluorescent lights, the stupid saxophone music on loop, no humans, no food, no sleep, and no water (since I wasn’t about the try the public fountain during a pandemic).

When I finally arrived at Seattle-Tacoma, I almost left without my bag. The person who was helping me couldn’t find it anywhere, despite the fact that it was a very distinct lime green. She checked and double-checked before finally opening a ticket and saying they would get back to me. I figured they had just completely lost it as the one final insult of this trip, and moped out of the office. Incidentally, I found it myself. I spotted the green hard-shell in the one and only one luggage cage she hadn’t checked. Apparently no one is supposed to use that crate because the lock is broken. Lovely. This was quite possibly the worst travel experience of my life, but at least I got an entertaining story out of it.

Booked a flight to San Juan leaving December 10, 2020 returning December 19, 2020. Booked this flight in July to be certain I would get the flights I wanted because I needed to be home for Christmas plans early on the 19th. On November 1, 2020 was notified by Delta flight had been changed to a later flight also my husband and I were no longer seated together. To make matters worse a later flight on the same day had gone down $345.00 from what I had paid. I did not change our flight because it was very important to us to get home early on the 19th.

Called Delta - their response was no matter what the circumstances they do not compensate for flight changes in any way. So if I had changed my flight I would have saved $345.00. Since they changed my flight I was compensated only $150.00 and I assume that was only because they changed our seating resulting in us being separated. Very poor customer service. Delta please reconsider and do the right thing. I should receive the additional Ecredits.

The flight was scheduled with Delta from Milan to LAX on 10/27/21. Price paid $500. At the airport, I could not find the terminal. There was no Delta terminal. No one could direct me to a Delta terminal. Although I arrived at the airport in plenty of time prior to my flight I found an empty deserted terminal in a reclused corner that was unidentified and apparently used by delta 50 minutes before departing time. After looking for almost an hr, I found the terminal empty at 11:12am and the flight was leaving 12:50pm.

First there was no one to direct me to the terminal, then it took me an hr to find it unidentified in a deserted corner, and then 50 minutes before my flight it was empty and there was no one to direct me to my flight. I called Delta and the only solution they could offer me to get home was to take a $1800 flight with Qatar Airlines that was 22hrs instead of 12hrs with a 4 hr wait time in Iraq where I was scared to death and didn't want to go. I am a celebrity tattoo artist with my own shop and had 5 clients scheduled for that day at $2500 a client. I arrived in LA exhausted after a 22hr flight and missed my 5 clients for a total of $12500 income for that day.

TOTAL LOSSES I'M SEEKING COMPENSATION FOR:
    Delta: $500
    Quatar: $1800

Delta Airlines is a low-cost carrier thus they have an economically fair price but they can take some chances. The seats don't recline at all and my tail bone was bothering me on the, there was very little room to move. I would recommend you not to opt for Delta Airlines if you have a long journey. I made an immediate return flight with American Airlines as it was much more comfortable. The prices for last minute flight was high that why I looked up online and came across an online flight reservation portal (AirlineTicketWorld) that offered me American Airline flight ticket at an unpublished price. You guys can also check out AirlineTicketWorld or call the flight reservation team at +1-888-720-1433, they offer exclusive fair prices for various renowned flights and also offer incredible discounts.

Transit time in London changed from 3 hours to 19 hours. What am I going to do regarding stay and another Covid test now. I called to fix issue. Changed my original departure date so my layover is again 3 hours. Spent four hours on hold and finally got this resolved. Nothing they can do they said. Now I thought okay everything is in order. Now two days later same issue. So now after waiting more than two hours on hold the agent is trying to fix issue again. She does not know what is happening but it is a mess. All issues cannot be resolved online. Delta needs to hire more customer service rep and fix the system. If they cannot help then they should not partner with other airlines.

Delta lost a long time customer. Due to a long delay, we figured we’d hit up the Sky Club since we have an infant with us and needed a place my wife could feed our child and have something to eat herself. Since we’re Delta Platinum card holders we figured it’d be worth the $40/person. Unfortunately our card was lost on vacation. It’s on our boarding pass, digital wallet and apps but that wasn’t good enough for the rude front desk attendant. Quite honestly, it’s sad to know that when you’re in most need of Delta support they’re just not going to be there for your customers. We’re going to take our travel business and card loyalty somewhere that wants it.

To my surprise, when I login to my account on Delta.com, there are no records of where the miles went, unless very recent. I called their offices after holding hours on the phone and no one, including the supervisor, had an answer for me! I even sent an email to their CEO, Mr. Bastian and then a few days later I sent a message to him on Instagram with absolutely no response! I don't trust them anymore so I suggest for everyone keep their Delta statements and make sure you keep records of them at all times. P.S. what is this all about Delta's hold time of 5 hours. Booked a September trip with Delta in August. I know international travel has its issues right now but this is ridiculous. The airline has changed my itinerary twice now without my consent the first time sending me to an airport miles from my destination costing me a huge amount of money to book long distance transportation to get where I needed to be. Hours waiting on hold for customer service who told me they could not help without change fees and possible having to transit through a banned country which clearly Will not work.

Today I tried to check in for my flight only to find they have changed my return itinerary leaving me stranded in LA for 24 hours. Again most costs for hotels and transit. I have been on hold for customer service for over 4 hrs now and might as well give up as clearly there is nobody there. I also could lose my job due to this as I may not be able to get back in time for work. Surely an airline the size of delta has more than 2 representatives for the continental US. Obviously they don't care and take liberties with their customer itineraries knowing that it is impossible for customers to get help. I will be cancelling my SkyMiles account and never flying delta again. Absolutely appalling.

At 8:16 the counter rep shows up to inform us that they diverted our crew and they were trying to find another one. What?! Forty -five minutes later we board and start to taxi but, a lightning storm hits and now it's another hour wait.

I filed a complaint with the BBB since I arrived at the hotel after 2AM and had to speak at an event at 8am the next day due to their negligence. Their response? They blamed the lightning (that started at 9:05) when we should have left at 8:30 had they NOT diverted our crew. The pilot said, "if we only left 20 minutes earlier..." So they closed the complaint unresolved. Last time I ever use this dishonest company.

My trip with Delta Airlines started on August 15 at 5.30 am. When I arrived at the Newark airport, it was 8.30 am and still waiting in line to deliver my luggage, it was when the Delta Airlines staff reported that the 8.30 am flight closed the doors in addition to the other flights and all the passengers stayed at the airport. They had 3 operators receiving around 200 people. It was at 8.30 am when one of the operators came up with the great idea of moving the people who had left the flight out of the line.

Very quietly they asked me to return the next day. I refused because the next day I had a flight connection to another city to have my final destination. It was then that the Delta Airlines operator offered me a flight at 1.30 pm but I had to take a taxi to JFK Airport ($ 80 from my packet). Until then I thought, well, we are human beings and we make mistakes. It was then on my return from Cali Colombia when I was checking my luggage and the operator tells me that my carry-on bag does not meet the requirements on the aircraft ahhhh? "Probably my carry-on was growing up in Cali".

I brought carry-on from NY to Cali in hand but my carry-on bag could no longer return in the same way so the operator said he was holding it for me and I had to pay $ 120 dollars. (they charged me $ 127 dollars) But Delta Airlines was not happy enough with the damage that occurred so far, when I arrived in Bogota, a stopover place, I took the opportunity to buy two bottles of liquor which were delivered to me on the plane, sealed in plastic bags, the plane had a delay of 2 hours and a half in Bogota because they had not put fuel. They had to wait for the takeoff authorization signature and this together took about three hours.

My next stop was Atlanta Giorgia, where a Delta operator received us shouting and I think he was going to hit us, trying to hurry us without the right to ask anything. Immigration passed, then the scan part, and that was when an officer told me that I could not take my two bottles of liquor because they did not fit in the scanner and he threw them in the "garbage". As simple as that.

Upon deciding not to risk being stranded at destination and after husband had spent 13 hrs in airports the day before with < 4 hrs turn around before Delta flight I tried to cancel online. Message popped up states must contact Delta by phone. Had initially tried that before trying online cancellation and gave up after 45 min. With telephone being only option I was on hold >3.5 hrs before falling asleep after 0200. Our flights I was trying to cancel were at 0600.

Planned to drive to airport to talk to desk agent, though they probably couldn't help. Overslept, waking 0530, not enough time to get to airport before flight. Ugh! Seriously, why can't anyone answer their phones in the airline industry?!? Delta didn't offer direct flight for return but Air France from Paris to Toronto on 29 July and Westjet from Toronto to Los Angeles departing 2 hours after arrival of Air France. Nobody told us about Westjet cancelled their flight many days prior to the 29 July. We got the news at Toronto airport when there was no agents or counter by Westjet. We were abandoned without any help and confronted with Canadian vey Covid rules. I am fully vaccinated and had negative PCR test with US passport but was not permitted to get out of the transit area. I could see our seats on the plane through the Delta app. When we were in Cancun ready to fly home Delta told us our youngest child had a boarding pass but no ticket. They charged us $877.28 so we could get a ticket to fly our minor child home out of a foreign country. It feels like a bait and switch.

Several times, I've attempted to contact Delta for making changes to my flight. However, it has become impossible to reach a live agent or have them return my phone callback requests. To cancel the flights, I have to pay some fees. They have sent me automatic email twice stating: "Your upcoming flight was impacted by a scheduling issue that inadvertently moved you to a different flight." Delta, I cannot trust you anymore. They make it extremely difficult to reach anyone through phone or online. I booked a direct flight in May with guarantees that my seats will be next to each other. They have changed my flight 5 times now and with 2 weeks before my trip all of a sudden my flight has 1 layover and I'm not seated next to my spouse and infant. They crammed us into already booked flights so I have no options to change seats online. I am trying to modify my flight but online it says I must speak to an agent. It is impossible to reach someone. I have now read experiences of other that have waited for hours to be disconnected and put back into a 6 plus hour queue. No happy and will not be using Delta again in the future.

My husband who didn't have a voucher bought frontier ticket for $150. NO LAYOVERS. 2 hrs EACH WAY. That means his whole round trip was shorter than ONE WAY for me. He had more leg room, more space, and it was less crowded.

Delta is literally floating on its old reputation and that is all. They are overpriced trash service. This isn't including me being on hold from OPENING HOURS TO CLOSING HOURS WITHOUT EVER GETTING AHOLD OF A REPRESENTATIVE. I hope Frontier gets recognized. They are far better quality now. I have flown Aeroflot when it was run by the Soviets, no-name Caribbean puddle jumpers which challenged me to find two matching bolts, a Siberian Airlines flight which lost an engine on the way to Moscow and military transports. Never have I received worse service nor witnessed greater incompetence than from Delta on the Jax to Louisville, Ky., flight. We traveled in a party of four; including my wife who is my care giver and two children.

Due to Delta's flight arriving late we missed our connection in Atlanta. We then spent the entire day being assured multiple times we were on the next flight only to be sent scrambling to various gates where we were told that there were no seats. Delta next suggested that we split to perhaps occupy whatever seats could be found, As mentioned my wife is my caregiver so apparently Delta felt that sending our children to a strange airport or my being left in the care of a child was a good option.

The help desks were short staffed and workers seemed to have almost perfect timing for activating their radios when talking or when someone spoke to them, drowning out the speech. My wife is a joint U.S./Russian citizen and as I explained the problems to her in Russian we received comments about this as well. Other helpful comments included that Delta would refund our ticket so we could rent a car to drive from Atlanta to Louisville, no one being able to tell us if/when/where we would get on a flight, and suggesting that we should just select another city which might be closer to Louisville than Atlanta for our destination. As a final note upon finally reaching Louisville friends who had opted to simply drive their cars rather than fly beat us by five hours.

As far as excellent customer service goes, Delta has failed to deliver that. I was told on several occasions that I could request someone else to look into my baggage claim case because the claims specialist I was assigned did not accept several receipts that I submitted for reimbursement. I made both verbal and written requests for over a month, and even received a written response from the original baggage claims specialist that she would forward my case and I'd get a follow up within 10 business days. That didn't happen whatsoever. I was forced to call into the baggage claim call center to follow up with my own case, and was told each time by a different representative that I would receive a follow up within 2-3 business days. That didn't happen either. Representatives that work in baggage services do not work at the same location as baggage claim specialists which are the people that handle baggage claims.

From what I was told my account would be flagged and a notification would get sent out to everyone and I will receive a response within that time frame. After about my 15th call, I finally was able to get someone but was told after the fact though, that this information is incorrect. But why were there several representatives repeatedly telling me this information? Not only that, I found out that my case had been closed by the claims specialist I complained about and because it was closed it could not be reopened.

Other misinformation...Delta does not "reassign" baggage claims and has never done that. This same representative then offers to give me a $500 voucher because she didn't understand herself based on the notes that were on my account. But then she insulted me and also informed me that it was an hour past her shift and that she had to go and there was nothing more that she could do after I implied I wanted to file a complaint based on all of the misinformation and the amount of time it took for a response regarding my case. I didn't even get the voucher because of this.

I have filed several complaints about the customer service with Delta and the way I've been treated overall since my baggage was lost. No one has ever called or sent an email. There's a complaint/comment link on the Delta website that sends an automated email asking for 7-21 days for a response that you'll never get. I have the emails to prove it. My call log shows all the dates and times I've spent speaking to representatives getting the run around also. I feel like this is done on purpose. No one should ever have to go through this. That's why I am writing about this.

I had a horrible interaction today with a Delta check-in employee and had to reschedule my international flight because delta's COVID testing policy differs from South Korea's actual government policy/that of every other airline. I wanted to file a complaint and the wait time to reach customer service is 6 hours???? I used to hold Delta to a quality a step above other airlines but they are seriously slacking these days! For those interested, Delta's policy for flights to Korea is COVID test results within 72 hours of the departure flight. Mine resulted at 8:20 AM 3 days prior to a 10:20AM flight. They said this test is 74 hours prior to departure. The actual Korean government policy is that the 72 hours resets at 12AM everyday so it shouldn't matter and that is how every other airline like Korean Airline honors the testing.

Not only that, it turned out even if I didn't get COVID tested, since I am a Korean citizen I could have filled out a form to accept quarantine in my house in South Korea. The employee didn't know this and told me I had to pay $2800 to quarantine in a hotel and he refused to print out the quarantine form for me even when I requested it. First, on the Delta email confirmation after purchasing my child's ticket, it clearly stated that we got a carry on AND checked bag (50lbs/23kil) Free. When trying to check in, the gate attendant first said we got NO checked bag for the ticket & after talking about it with us a while, they said, "Oh actually you DO get a checked bag, but it has totally different dimensions than a normal checked bag, and it can only be 10lbs"... All of this info, even though our email confirmation did not only NOT say that, but said that we should get a 50lbs bag for FREE.

On a call after the fact while filing a complaint about the issues with the flight and trying to explain my experience as a customer, the representative spent the whole time contracting me and his/herself. And even though they didn't know all the info, they told me I should have known because somehow it was clear... to everyone...? Bad customer experience on ALL levels. Great job, Delta. Tell us one thing in your direct communication about the flight, have your people tell us something different when we ask, and then hide the actually "correct" info that contracts all that info, and then tell the customer they are the problem..?! When I questioned the desk at flight time they indicated that flight DL0924 from SLC to Atlanta had indeed flown on Sat leaving my husband and me very confused. Also the delay of a day resulted in additional costs to us.

The second complaint is more complex. The CEO of Delta, Ed Bastion, has gotten his company involved in political issues particularly the new GA election law which he seems not to understand fully. This is very disappointing. The focus of Delta should be the safe transport of their customers from destination to destination. His personal opinions of voting laws is of no interest to me and should not reflect the company’s position. If given a choice I will not fly Delta Airlines in the future or any other carrier that acts with lack of understanding and misinformation. I booked with Delta through Hotwire. I had never used delta before but it was the only airline that didn't have a 6am return flight. I was traveling with my boyfriend and 3 yr old son. Here's my story. First, I booked the flight and car. All the funds were pending from my account. When it actually charged my card, I noticed it was 1 plane ticket less. I thought maybe they changed something due to my son's age, cool. So I questioned whether he would be allowed a carryon or not. The website says it's based on price. Seeing as to how I wasn't sure what happened with the ticket prices, I figured I'd call to find out. I spent 9 HOURS to ask this simple question. 5 hours on hold waiting for someone to answer before I gave up, and 4 hours trying to use the online chat. Finally, I got someone, gave them the ticket number (which I figured they would say something if they missed the charge), they said yes to the carry on.

Then we get to the airport. We're carrying our bags, a car seat, a stroller and a child. We were rushed through security as if we were an inconvenience- literally shouted at- and we weren't moving slow (ok whatever). We get to the gate and wait. Then our flight was delayed due to a mechanical issue with the a/c. For 2+ hours. We missed our connecting flight in Atlanta. At this point I'm stressed, but think "better safe than sorry, things happen". Flight back home: again, rushed through security. Get to the gate. Wait. Another delay. Mechanical issue with the a/c unit. What are the chances? Again, waiting hours to get on the plane and missing our connecting flight home.

Here's the kicker, it was the last flight from Minneapolis to Milwaukee that day so we were not getting home. They searched for options and said, "We can MAYBE get you on tomorrow but all of tomorrow's flights are booked up so we'll put you on standby and hopefully you get something." They put us in a hotel in Minneapolis for the night. I had thrown away a bunch of stuff that I didn't think we needed anymore; toothbrushes, toothpaste, trial sizes of deodorant, all of the toiletries. No car, no gas station nearby to walk to, no food. Ok now we go to the airport again the next morning to see if we can get on a plane. They luckily said yes. We wait. They announce the flight was overbooked and offered $400 for someone to take a later flight. No one took it.

Eventually they landed on $600 and someone gave in. $600? I got a $50 hotel room to wait an entire day. Moving on, we go to board and they gave each of us separate seats. I asked if there was a way my 3yr old could sit by either myself or my boyfriend and they said I could figure it out myself. Finally, an attendant on the plane helped me switch seats with another rider so my toddler didn't have to sit with a stranger. We got home and I was just relieved to have it all over with. Then I check my bank account 5 days later and delta charged me another $438.40! Do I want to spend another 9 hours trying to contact cust service, or call the whole thing a loss and save my sanity?

Our trip down was delayed due to weather which is unavoidable. However, we then had mechanical problems, had to land at a different airport and we waited four hours for a repair. I understand that problems happen, and we got to our destination on the day we were supposed to albeit 6 hours late.

Our return trip however was much worse. Our flight was delayed 8 hours due to equipment problems, then four hours due to weather. We missed our connecting flight in Atlanta, and the backup connection flight. Delta was unable to book us the next day from Florida, and we had to book on American Airlines. We incurred over $800 in additional costs due to Delta's problems. We were told we could get reimbursement for the AA tickets and the hotel costs. So far, I have been unable to talk to anyone at Delta for help on this matter. I am so very discouraged with this airline on which my wife and I have flown over 100,000 miles.

I chose delta over my hometown airline because the service is just that good. I even get free bags with the other airline and still choose delta. Delta even recognized my choice and privately thanked me for choosing them. Thank you guys for such an amazing experience!

I called customer service just before 7pm today and was given option to hold for 2:44 hours. No option for a call back was given. At onset of the call I was informed that service is affected by Covid. How do they get away with this lame excuse. Most large companies I know compensated for Covid and moved into a ‘new norm’ with little or no impact on service. Well it is now 11:28, nearly 4:30 hours since the call started still with no customer representative available. How do they justify these call center statistics and then praise their customer service. Quite remarkable.

I had booked a flight in December to fly in April. I called Delta Airlines a few days before our flight to find out about Covid restrictions. I was told, "We first need to check your flight. Oh it's overbooked and you will have to fly out on the 14th instead of our booked day of the 10th." I told the lady, "No we are flying out on the 10th." "I'm sorry but they have overbooked that flight," was her response. I was floored. I again told her, "We are flying out on the 10th, we had taken time off work and were going to visit a brand new grandchild." She said, "Well we can get you on that flight still but it will cost you 43 dollars per person." Are you flipping kidding me??

I paid it because I wasn't about to not go. But am very disappointed that I had to pay 86 more to fly when I had already paid my full airfare months in advance because the airline overbooked. Then was told we had to get a negative Covid test prior to our flight. We scurried to complete that just in time to find out we did not need it at all. Not happy with the service I received at all. Seems like some kind of extortion To me. Will not be flying Delta again anytime soon.

Their phone support wait times are constantly over 2 hours and they don't even offer to keep your place in line and call you back when your turn is up for cancelling a flight. The flight I purchased could not be canceled online. The eCredits I had from before would never even display when I logged in to their website, I had to get a customer rep to manually make those work for me. Tried chat help through mobile app, but it timed out as I was waiting and I lost my place in line.

Tried to reach out via Twitter and had a mixed response. Supposedly someone actually did cancel my flight, but I never got a confirmation email or any confirmation of a refund. After a 5-10 minute wait I got one response on Facebook where they apologized for a delay getting my message. After that I was ignored for another 10+ minutes, during which I created my ConsumerAffairs account and created this review. Still no confirmation email regarding the flight being canceled or any correspondence about the refund that I should be getting from canceling the day after buying tickets. Delta claims I get a full refund as long as the flight is canceled before midnight the following night and I fell within that. Have spent over 2 hours trying to go through this process so far.

I have been on 3 different trips with Delta since January and whenever someone shows up at the gate desk they immediately get a hoard of people with heavy complaints and the person at the desk just says, "I’m sorry, I can’t help you." Delta does their best to ignore their customers and not provide answers. Stay away from them as they blame all of the issues on some policy that actually doesn’t exist but isn’t their fault.

The company I chose to fly with was Delta airline, everything was OK until the flight to LA was an unpleasant experience because of the masks. During the flight, the mask I was wearing went under my nose, and then the stewardess remarked to me to lift the mask, I was warned 3 times until she came and said it was the last advertisement.

I wore the mask correctly. I would like to mention that I had in my arms my baby 1 year old who was pulling my mask. When I arrived in Los Angeles, someone from the Delta manager was waiting for me at the gate, when he said he wanted to talk to me about the situation. I explained everything to him but they decided to cancel my flight to Honolulu and back to Atlanta. Not to mention that I had a one-year-old baby with me and the 3 older children who dreamed of arriving in Hawaii, where the Delta airline ruined my entire vacation and that of my family.

I had to stay in Los Angeles with the whole family, two nights while I got a call from delta airline as the whole reservation was canceled because I didn't wear the mask properly. We made other reservations with other flight companies and finally on 04/04/2021 I arrived in Honolulu. In fact, I’ve only flown Delta since the pandemic began due to the fact that they’ve implemented their Delta Care Standard, which includes using refreshed fresh, outside air and air via high-grade HEPA filters inside the plane. I’ve tried to explain this process to both friends and family members, in addition to sharing their video, but they’re still under the impression that planes are using recycled air, and as such, they are afraid to travel via airplane. Thank you for all that you do to keep your passengers safe and healthy. Subsequently, it really meant a lot to me when I wrote Delta previously and received a response on behalf of Ed Bastian, Delta Air Lines CEO. I want to warn other people about Delta’s penalty for customers purchasing a round-trip domestic ticket and highly encourage two one-way domestic tickets instead. There is no financial benefit to purchasing a round-trip ticket, it is simply the sum of 2 one-way tickets. There is a great penalty for having booked a round-trip with delta... if you want to make a change to one segment of your trip, Delta will re-price both portions of the ticket and charge you their current increase in price. For example, say you bought a round-trip ticket for $200 (each one-way priced at $100) and you later want to cancel the return flight. In order to do this, Delta will re-price the departure flight to today’s price (even though you’re not changing that segment) and charge you accordingly. Let’s say that new one-way departure flight is $220. Delta will tell you that you OWE them money to change to a one-way ticket.

Had you booked 2 one-way tickets, you could cancel the return and hold on to a voucher for $100. Even if you wanted to just change a portion of your flight, you will be much better off having two separate tickets. That way you won’t be penalized with two increases of fare just to change one segment. Delta claims to be like other airlines with a no change fee, but they clearly still have predatory pricing policies in place to beef up their profits. Huge difference. Please always book 2 one-way tickets if you must fly Delta! I hope this helps someone not get caught like I did.

The second was 5 hours before my flight for weather. I was told they would upgrade my seat for free if seats were available 30 minutes before the flight. I am Delta Reserve member and have been flying Delta since I joined the military 12 years ago. I proceeded to check at the gate exactly 30 minutes before my flight (Delta app showed 15 comfort and 7 first class available). The agent at the gate said it is not policy. I am not sure how this is accurate as the previous connecting flight upgraded and is the one who gave me the information...

I’ve been a Delta Reserve card member for 12 years and this is going to be my last flight with Delta after the lack of professionalism shown. No remorse, no empathy, no trust, and no honor with what was said. The agent said she could call a “red coat” over to assist and after discussion the situation with the red coat she told me she would not upgrade. I asked if she was choosing not to or if she couldn’t and she wouldn’t answer me. Upon boarding I took a picture of all the available open seats in Comfort and 1st class (over 20 in total). Gate 29 (2/1/202) 2100 gate/ticketing in agents = the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I recommend they read “kick ** customer service” because they need help and just lost a lot of business.

Before taking off the pilot came to my aisle to ask if everything was going to be alright. After explaining the situation he then told me to follow up with a review. He understood what happened and I do feel bad if I “scared the front desk agent,” but unfortunately I think Deandra was just bitter and told the crew I was a “flight risk.”

I want to reiterate that the crew was very pleasant, but the ticketing staff needs to retrained and replaced. That was the worst customer service and community of care I have ever received from a service industry. With the pandemic I am sure they can find much better agents to represent Delta. The ones I worked with at 29A were awful.

I was supposed to leave at 1655 today. I am still in Tampa and don’t even know if I will have a connecting flight from Atlanta to Memphis.

Y’all have not been helpful. Your staff has argued that I didn’t pay for a first class ticket when I give them my confirmation number and show pic of ticket. I don’t know what else I can show. The woman that changed my ticket said to call y’all for a refund and y’all won’t give me one and everyone has been so incredibly rude. Y’all are saying you can’t refund me and I can’t sit in first class and I have been delayed four or five times. I am DONE with Delta. However, this next flight I am taking my dog and I am being charged a total of $310 round trip for him to go. He is a 9 lb dog, not a big dog. In addition to being charged $125 one way to fly him, he is also considered my carry-on, so I have to check my small suitcase and pay $30 for that also. So...$155 to fly with him one way, $310 total. This is ridiculous and I will NOT be using Delta again.

My son comes from a town with 600 people in Idaho and knows nothing. He called home crying so hard he could hardly speak. Long story short.... Well, she was ready, and I was so happy to see her, it had been, 27 years since I saw her, her health had declined so that she was unable to live alone, and a nursing home was out of the question, she had raised me with love and affection, now it was my turn to do the same!

Back to our same day flight, delta was able to get us on a plane at 1.15PM, they made sure we had seats together at the front of the plane and always boarded us first, even with a low price economy ticket, transporting my mother from her wheelchair to a smaller, more narrow chair and it took two employees to make the swap each time, they are very professional and took the best care of us, always wearing masks, ppe, keeping us safe, I can't say enough, I know they are taking huge pay cuts as a company, but they treated us first class like we were the only passengers. And one last thing, their appreciation of our military was honorable, always boarding them first! Delta airlines is the best! Much love and respect to you all!

I have been a Sky Miles member and flown exclusively with delta for years. Never again. 6 months ago I booked with them to fly to Mexico for a wedding. My flight was canceled by them less than 10 hrs before I was to take off. Called them and the said due to weather, they canceled all flights and the soonest I could rebook was 2 days later, where it would’ve been too late.

So I said go ahead and cancel it. I find out after it was nearly impossible to rebook with another airline for anything reasonable (prices all $700+ for one way) I also notice delta clearly has flights for that night and the following day. So I call them back. They said due to changes, they reinstated the flight. Cool, so they can just rebook me, right? Nope. It was already considered a cancellation, so even thought I bought my original ticket 6 months ago for about $150 one way, I would now have to pay the new last-minute price of $879. TLDR: they canceled my flight, then when it was reinstated, told me I had to rebuy it at their new price. Bye Delta. Never flying with you again

In February 2020, I flew Delta knowing I had a medical bag I had to bring with me while I couldn't check my other regular bag. I was flying with a big group of people, and checking bags wasn't an option. So, I called the customer service line to ensure that my medical bag wouldn't count as my checked bag. When I boarded the plane, the lady scanning tickets was extremely rude about my extra bag and made me feel guilty for having an extra bag for medical equipment. I cannot travel without this extra bag, so it's impossible to negotiate. I informed her that I called customer service and they said my medical bag doesn't count as my carry on. She was very rude and seemed extremely annoyed about it. I was very frustrated with the situation and disappointed in Delta.

Now, here I am again in October 2020 facing a similar issue. I decided to call customer service again to ensure medical bag policies haven't changed due to COVID. The gentleman that I spoke with was beyond helpful. He went ahead and made a note in my account that I have to bring this extra medical bag, so I wouldn't face any troubles at the gate. Furthermore, because of my medical condition, he went ahead and reserved me a safer seat on the airplane for my travels. He was extremely kind and understanding. He gained my trust and respect back for Delta. I wish I would've gotten his name so he could be recognized. I really appreciated his generosity and willingness to make me comfortable, safe, and happy. I'm a satisfied Delta customer once again.

Had flights to Japan (For Honeymoon 6/26/2020). Obviously, we can't fly to Japan because of Covid-19. Travel ban is in place, but Delta wouldn't cancel the flight. Luckily, they made changes to our flights that significantly altered our travel plans, which allowed us to cancel without penalty, per their policies. We went to cancel our flights and made sure if we chose to receive our cash, instead of an E-credit, that we would not be penalized a cancellation fee. I took screenshots of the cancellation page, showing no cancellation fees and a full cash refund to our bank account. So, as you can imagine, the moment we submitted the cancellation of our flights we received an email showing we had been hit with $700s in cancellation fees. Immediately, we got on the phones to remedy this. This was on April 28, 2020.

Now, after 4-5 calls, where we are told each time that we are going to get our money back and that this was an error, but to wait 30 business days before calling again, which we have done twice, we have not received any communication nor refund. Today, 90 days later, we called in only to find out that now, during all of this, you cannot reach the refund department on the weekends (recent change). So, we can't get refunded because they need to final review, but they cut back on labor and hours attributable to Refunds.

90 days is more than ample time to review and refund money for a situation that their employees (and policies) told us is a sure thing and that we will 100% receive a refund for the cancellation fees (multiple individuals on separate calls). This is starting to feel like theft. Just to be clear, this is not about the flight refund, we have received a refund, but only a partial amount. We were penalized for the cancellation of our flight, despite being told we wouldn't be and being told later on we shouldn't have been either. They have not fixed it yet, 90 days later.

We had booked a round-trip First Class ticket from LAX to Puerto Vallarta for the 4th of July, 2020. When we went to the airport in Puerto Vallarta, to return back to Los Angeles, the Delta counter informed us that we were no longer allowed on Delta but could not tell us why. We spent 6 hours getting ready for departure, tax to airport, waiting at airport to find out that the gate people at Delta could only tell us that we were not allowed on the flight but not why and to call corporate, which we did and got nowhere because it disconnected after being on the phone for 2 hours and then later, Delta said, "You have called too many times and if you call again, you will be barred from Delta for life." All they could come up with was that we did not wear our mask from LAX to Puerto Vallarta but we did, we had on our face during the flight and no-one ever approached us saying anything.

We never received an email from Delta telling us that our return flight was cancelled and don't bother going to the airport in Puerto Vallarta because we won't let you on. They also claimed later that after I called from the airport, they sent another email and said to check my spam, which of course I had done multiple times and no email ever. We had to buy another flight home on American and spend money for 2 hotel nights. I asked for this report of details about this flight from LAX to Puerto Vallarta and was it a flight attendant or passenger because this has to be mistaken identity and they said if I continue to ask the same question for the details, they will put us on the list for our lifetime.

My husband and I had purchased tickets to fly out of Houston to Paris July 10th, we received an email simply stating that our flight was cancelled- they did not call us or make any attempt to rebook us even though there was another flight the same day available on their website. So we called and got ourselves rebooked on that flight, two weeks later France announced that they are not opening borders to Americans due to COVID19 so we were forced to cancel that flight and they refused to refund us fully, charging $350 per ticket for a cancellation that was completely no fault of our own.

We called to ask for a full refund and they simply refused because the flight itself was not cancelled even though we would have not been able to legally enter the country of the destination. Ethically, they should waive all cancellation fees when the cancellation is a direct result of the pandemic and not the choice of the customer. When asking for a credit to use on a future flight instead, they again refused saying that they had already issued a partial refund. Absolutely unfair and no help at all.

In speaking with a Delta rep, I am told we have until February 2021 to rebook, however, this isn't possible due to allotted vacation time that we have. I have spent countless number of hours on the phone, have filed a complaint with Delta, but just find this entire experience overwhelming! Even if they allowed us to book at a later date after February 2021, that might work, but we would prefer to just have the points put back on our card. We didn't have a choice in choosing this Covid 19 epidemic, but I would think we should have a choice in when we can travel next.

I will give a shout out to Alaska Air, who was more than gracious to put our points back, no questions asked, but this was the flight going to Mexico that was cancelled. How is it that Delta expects us to fly back when we don't even have a flight there?? We are waiting to hear back from them, but from what we have been told by a Delta Rep, it doesn't look promising. This entire ordeal has us just baffled and upset.

On Thursday, April 23, 2020 I flew on Delta fly DL1306 with my 82 year old dad. He had a very hard time walking from parking garage to ticket counter. As soon as we entered the ticket area I told him to sit on the bench. I appeared to be the only Delta customer and I went straight up to counter where 3 Male service reps were. I checked in with both my dad's and my ID. The rep offered me a wheelchair for my dad. I had already registered for wheelchair assistance online. I turned to look toward my dad and another rep had him in a wheelchair and pushing him in my direction. I exclaimed HOW NICE!.

The rep waiting on me said GET YOUR TIP OUT!. I didn't understand why he would say that. I am a great tipper, btw. All the reps laughed. I approached my dad and his rep and I guess because I didn't have a wad of cash in my hand the rep walked off. I had my hands full and no idea how to operate the chair. The rep yelled from afar, "YOU HAVE TO HOLD THE LATCH IN WHILE PUSHING."

We arrived in Salt Lake City but had a connecting flight. This time a Delta rep was waiting AT THE PLANE with a chair. This rep pushed my dad all the way to our connecting flight BUT my dad needed the restroom first. The rep dropped my dad off at our gate, pointed back down the hall we just came from, telling us the restrooms were back that way. He then TOOK THE CHAIR AWAY. My 82 year old dad had to limp slowly back down the hall; it was far enough away that I could to actually SEE the restroom signs until we were about 4 gates and shops away. Of course, he then had to also walk all the way back, negating the assistance altogether.

We arrived in Seattle. Wheelchair was waiting in the waiting area. This rep assisted us all the way to rental car, which was in another building!! So sweet and polite. Tip was $10. Clearly DELTA doesn't have a set standard organizational wide and each rep has their own set of policies. I did tip these reps but I regret tipping the one in Salt Lake.

I was on hold for about 2 minutes and a very pleasant reservation agent answered. My client's flight had changed drastically, and I was seeking a full refund. This young lady, who told me she had been repurposed from being a Flight Attendant to a Reservation Agent because of the large volume of calls they were receiving. I had a pleasant, short interaction with her and she was able to cancel and issue a refund to my clients. For anyone in the Travel Industry, this is a hard time to be dealing with so many cancellation requests, as I can certainly attest. She was lovely, pleasant, friendly and humorous at the same time. I was pleasantly surprised, and because of her, I will be booking more clients with Delta Airlines.

Delta is refusing to cancel a flight to Japan which has banned us travelers. Delta is doing this to subvert the DOT ruling on refunds for cancelled flights. Delta is issuing E-Credits which can be used later however will most likely raise prices on future flights forcing passengers to pay more for the same flights they originally had and would have taken. Delta is practicing malicious behavior towards US Passengers. Airlines are being bailed out, I am not! Delta should be forced to give a full refund to international travelers who have flights scheduled within a 2-3 month period while the pandemic is active and travel bans are in place. If Delta does not refund these types of passengers a class action lawsuit should be considered on behalf of USA Passengers.

At the very least Delta should not issue credits but A voucher that guarantees the same seat and flight times if the passengers are choosing to fly to the same destinations at a later day. This would ensure that the passengers are not going to be taken advantage of and forced to pay more simply because Delta wanted to be unethical in how they handle their passengers during this crisis. Passengers should consider visiting the Department of Transportation, Better Business Bureau, Trip Advisor and every other review sites to file complaints.

I just started a new job and was approved for vacation when I was hired. I will not have a vacation by the time their credit that they were offering was going to expire. We asked if they could make an exception and they wouldn’t.

Pretty sad that other companies have refunded a few friends of mine that were supposed to be traveling. Even Allegiance refunded one of my friends. Delta is a very well known airline, you’d think they’d care a little more about their customers instead of trying to hoard the money. Now I get to pay into their payroll and now also get to rent a car to drive down to South Carolina from New York. Keepin it classy delta, keepin it classy.

They beat me down to a point that I finally took what they offered which was 100 buck per ticket which was a total of a 200 dollar loss. We felt that under these condition they would simply refund our money our of good faith. I will never fly Delta and would NOT recommend to anybody to use them. We were asked as we were boarding if we would check our carry on item as space was not available. We said ok. They told us to pick up our carry on bags in Idaho Falls (our final destination.) Upon landing in Salt Lake City we literally ran as fast as possible from the c gate to f16, the furthest gate possible! We heard nothing on the airport announcement system about our flight. We got there with time to spare only to be told by a 'ever so graciously smiling' counter woman. She called the pilot a jerk and said he closes the doors early and refused to allow us on that flight. Miraculously she managed to get our bags off the plane but couldn't get us on?? Yeah.

There were 0 flight options available to get us to Idaho Falls that fit our schedule. She gave us 2 $150 vouchers as if that would help. We rented a car and drove the 3 hours to Idaho Falls. The return trip was much smoother. I spoke with the customer service complaints and was refunded for the portion of the flight we were bumped from, received $200 in gift cards for other businesses and was refunded the extra cost of the car. Am I happy? Not really. It was inexcusable and stressful. My next trip will not be with Delta. The reason I gave 2 stars is because our return was ok and the customer service rep was nice.

After takeoff we discovered that nothing about the seats were adjustable. They were fixed in that position for the entire site. The position we were in was not just uncomfortable but very painful both to my neck and back as well as to that of my companion.

I requested a seat change because there was a vacant seat available across and up from us. This seat was extremely comfortable. I do not feel the originally assigned seat was safe in the event of an emergency and was definitely not designed correctly. They should be removed. A month prior to booking a flight, we researched the best carriers for flying your pet. After reading multiple reviews, we decided to book with Delta. (I love flying Delta and have yet to have a less than stellar experience). My husband called three times to verify all the things needed to be done for our dog prior to our flight. We spent $300 for a pre-flight vet check, as well as purchasing a kennel ($109) that met the airline’s specifications. We were told to have him to Delta Cargo four hours before the scheduled flight. Upon arrival, the temperature was 19 degrees. We were told they wouldn’t take him unless the temperature was 20 degrees, even with the required documented pet variance. We had to leave our dog with our daughter, hoping to fly him the following day.

My husband again called Delta Cargo and whomever he spoke to said there shouldn’t be a problem getting him on a flight with the temperature above 20 degrees. Again, my daughter took him to Delta Cargo two days later and was turned away because his kennel was too small (the one we specifically bought for the airline’s specifications). They even told her Delta doesn’t fly large dogs anymore!! After speaking with Delta four times prior to this, why didn’t they even mention this!?! Save yourself a huge amount of stress and money! Don’t even consider Delta for flying your pet!

My flight from Las Vegas was late. Delta auto changed my flight assuming I would miss the connection. The app said D32. We were in A terminal in Atlanta. We ran through airport, caught train and ran to D32. Wrong gate. The attendant, Dan, was quite rude. He would not let me finish a sentence & kept repeating "It is what it is. Go down the hall and get help". Followed by interruptions to say "go on now". The app now shows my original gate with the new time. The help desk said D32, the app says c. We went to C thinking it had changed again. No, it has the original gate with the new flight at D32. When I approached Dan about the confusion he rolled his eyes, sighed and said, "did you talk to who I told you to talk to?" I was sent back to the help desk.

I am a Skymiles member and have flown for almost 20 years. The Delta app caused me to miss my flight, make me wait 4 more hours in the Atlanta airport, and the desk attendant was unprofessional and rude. A person commented "If he doesn't like his job he should do something else". We did not deserve any of this. I should be home already.
