Mainly so we would have power when SCE shuts down. Savings nice benefit in addition to peace of mind knowing we have power. Very pleased with Sun Power by Sun solar. Employees are very professional. I would highly recommend this company and urge people to consider solar.

I got quotes, estimates, and schedules from three different solar companies and the SunPower representatives met my requirements. The install team was very hands-on and personable. They said they would get it done in one day, and they put up 23 panels in one day. I liked the potential savings, provided that California didn't screw everything up. My last two bills were $20 versus about 250 for this time of year. Also, I keep track of what I'm producing through the SunPower app on my phone. It gives me all the information I need. I’d definitely recommend SunPower.

I decided to go solar for environment, cut daily electrical costs due to medical equipment and just do the best thing for our future. SunPower was really nice to work with and I would recommend Ambrose/SunPower as a great representative of Solar business.

The panels work great. You just need to clean them after a fire or dusty season to keep the efficiency up to par. The installers were extremely professional and executed a seamless installation in just 1 day plus they painted the conduit lines so it matches the walls in my garage. Great!

This is our second solar installation using SunPower and Renova Energy. We feel by installing a SunPower system, we are accomplishing two priorities - minimizing an adverse impact on our climate and capturing electricity costs at a point in time knowing electricity will continue to rise in cost.

Decided to go solar for financial reasons. So far I have been pretty happy with the system, however there have been a couple of glitches I will explain. Was told it would be about 60 days for the installation of the panels - it was about 90. The system has been hooked up for over a month now and the engineer was here yesterday to fix the monitor system which hasn't worked correctly yet. It may work correctly now, but I will have to see.

With a pool pump having to run for several hours per day on top of a house with two boys that leave every light on in the house, we decided to go solar for the environment and to save money in the long run. I’m happy with Sunpower’s equipment, but the installation was just so so. If you have a light weight concrete tile roof it’ll cost more and depending on the roofing company, may result in poor workmanship. Sunpower’s contractor left an uneven tile line that’s kinda visible and a few broken tiles as a result from troubleshooting after the roofers were done. They also hit an external drainage line when drilling to install the grounding Rod which was never fix. Like I said, I’m happy with the product, just not the install.

We chose Sunpower for their longevity and common 25 year warranty on everything, including production. They delivered on their promise to handle nearly everything for us and our system is up and running as promised. The system works well with our electric car and makes more than we use.

I did not like the idea of having to pay for electricity at a fluctuating rate for the rest of my life when there was an option to do something about it. I’ve had solar with Sunpower for just over one year now and so far so good.

Wanted to help the environment…lead the way in sustainable energy! We used Cal Solar in Grass Valley and they installed Sun Power panels, our preference. They worked well with our roofing company, came over to show us how to read the Sun Power app to track our usage, and generally showed professional dedication through the whole project.

From the first meeting with Earthlight (my local SunPower installer) to getting my system up and running has been a great experience. I talked with 7 other installers that install other panels over the course of a year before I met with the SunPower installer. The choice was clear that SunPower/Earthlight was the best option. I chose to pay for my system outright, but all loan/lease options are offered as well. Earthlight was on top of everything, and made it clear how the process with permits and inspections was going along the way. The install team was efficient, clean, and did everything perfectly. My system is working great! I already referred two people in a short time.

My sisters in had used SunPower and were very satisfied. I knew that this would help my over all living costs and keep our rates lower in the future. We are very satisfied!! This has been good for us financially and the payment plan is lower than the monthly costs of the power provided by the local city.

We were very pleased with the entire process of designing, installation and power output from SunPower panels and Freedom Solar. The staff were always available to answer our questions on technology, working with our local power company and federal tax credit. It seems that the effects of global warming are accelerated and extreme. Everyone should do their part to reduce greenhouse gases. Rooftop solar panels are our contribution to this effort.

I went Solar to help the environment and save some money. It took a awhile to get the system in service but after replacing some modules I got it to work. I also installed a backup battery to ensure that during power outage I still have some power.

We signed up for solar for environmental reasons. We want to do something for future generations. We really like our system. The one negative is you keep making us sign-in to the system, which requires both me and my husband to go find our passwords and login information to sign in. I have not been able to use my SunPower app, cause I don't remember to resign in. Thanks, Anne Marie.

Fred, who was our salesman, provided all the explanations, was on call, and responded very quickly to my questions and calls. Then, when they came to install the product, he was there. He got everything together for me. We had a few glitches during the installation but they were addressed very quickly. I would strongly recommend SunPower.

There was no hassle with enrollment. Everything was taken care of and I didn't have to do anything. The installers did a great job too. I didn't even need to be home. Overall, SunPower is a great company. Everything was explained clearly and everything they did is exactly what they said they were going to do.

I had SunPower installed on my vacation house. The salesman was very helpful 'cause they had to do a roof situation with it to get the panels installed and it worked out well.

I reached out to two other companies and I also went to two people who used EmPower for their system. They both had a similar experience to what I had. The customer service was very professional. Nobody was here, calling me constantly to see if I decided to take it or not take it, and from the get-go, the initial contact was very informative. I had plenty of questions for them, and they had the answers that I knew it would be. I felt very confident from the get-go to deal with EmPower, then every step along the way was a different department who knew what they were doing and it seemed very organized to me.
I signed off on the contract in the middle of September, and we were hooked up in the middle of December. Unfortunately, we had a few days where the system wasn't producing anything because we had cloudy days, or we had snow on the SunPower panels. But for the last couple days, it’s been producing just about as much as I need for the day. I understand that when we get into the spring and summer months, the production increases because we've got longer days and a stronger sun.

I'm a returning customer with SunPower. I've been with them for 12 years and the service continues to be good. I like the app. The upgrades to it are decent because now I can monitor the power I use off the grid with the new monitoring tool that's part of the new system. I couldn't do that before. The reps are very good too. I was talking to one yesterday about my new system that they installed on top of my old system. Going solar continues to surprise me and I am enjoying the experience every day.

I'm happy about the installation. It went fast and the guys were nice. They came when they said they were going to come and didn't leave a mess. They had to come out a couple of times because there were some signals cross between the different guys. But they didn't make it difficult for me and I didn't have to worry about anything. But the system isn't on yet even though the panels have been up for a month. It's taking a long time and kind of frustrating. SunPower said that they don't know when they're going to be able to get it online, but they're working on it.
During the installation, I would get calls and emails, and the response was so fast. But as soon as the installation was done, the response has been horrible. I've been trying to get in contact with them for weeks and they finally responded back. They said they can't help me with any refund because they don't deal with that kind of thing. I talked to the solar loan people and they said, "We can't pause your loan because we don't have anything to do with MOXIE." I was expecting to start paying the loan and won't be paying electric but I'm paying both. I don't know how long this is going to go on. I'm having the worst customer experience.

We really like SunPower. They made things extremely easy, and the customer service was excellent. The only hang-up we had was waiting for the Tesla batteries, which were many months on backorder. That was not their fault though. They went ahead with all of the products they could do and install and then had to leave it at that point because the batteries were not available. Apart from that, the system is perfect and if we did anything else, we'd want more of exactly the same.

I had four bids, and I was able to compare. The salesperson from SunPower was very informative, and I didn’t have a problem of asking questions about their competitors. It's been flawless from beginning to end. We were never in the dark and we always knew what the next project was in the process, which was nice. The guys that came over to install were very nice and quick too. Overall, I love SunPower. They have great customer service.

When I call SunPower, customer service is able to take care of any issue I have, and the way they take care of it is good. Also, the guy who installed the panels was able to explain everything. He directed us in everything that we needed to do in case something went wrong and what we should be looking at. That was cool. The system is very efficient, and we haven’t had any problems since it was installed. I'm very satisfied.

They were great at communicating with me. I always knew what the next step was. On the day the installation was scheduled, things happened seamlessly. People showed up like they were supposed to. Any time we had questions, they always did a great job answering them or any concerns that we had. There was some issue with the reader and what it was telling us it pulling. But they caught it before we did and immediately fixed it once they figured it out.

I explored at least five different companies and one thing that sold me on SunPower was a local distributor for SunPower that seemed to be one more cost-efficient, but less trying to oversell me on things I didn't really want or need. Aside from that, with them having the experience with working with SunPower, it was a nice joint collaboration.
There was a delay in my project, but the contractor walked me through every stage and by no means do I blame them at all. There are a lot of delays in a lot of projects because of COVID, so many people want to get solar panels and get the tax credit. There was also a little bit of hiccup with the city of Bristol and getting all the paperwork all settled. It had something to do with how many people could actually get a project up and running, then have the system installed in a timely manner. So, when their team was available, they were able to come up and get the equipment installed pretty quickly. The contractor also didn't try to overcharge me for anything and helped to support things in my roof and attic. It was a great process and I would go back with them and expand my system at some later date. They've done a phenomenal job and I'm really liking my system. I also like the application they use on the phone.

We got started with SunPower then lost contact for a while. I called them, and they said, “We were busy with other things. We're now ready. We've gotten approval.” It's been positive with the reps and I was extremely pleased with the installation. I made recommendations to others who called SunPower to go forward with it and SunPower sent me $1,500 for the recommendation, which was great. However, the process of getting it was complicated. I'll recommend them, but I'm not putting in for any of their rebates because it was a pain. I was very dissatisfied with that program. Either give me a rebate or give me a cash incentive, but don't tell me you're gonna give me this incentive then make me jump through 15 or 20 hoops to get it. I was really upset with that. Also, the card’s only accepted in certain areas and that's baloney.

A neighbor had used and been happy with SunPower. Then another friend had used them years ago and been happy with their returning when there were issues. I've wanted to go solar for years. We decided, with the pandemic, it was definitely time to do something. So, we finally did it with SunPower. Their rep was very easy to work with. He was a nice guy and knew his stuff. As far as the installation, they made it look easy. It all went fine. I’d tell others to use SunPower.

Sunpower is a very expensive system. I was mislead to believe the panels could be monitored individually like nearly every other solar company. This is NOT the case. SunPower does not share this information, nor does anyone monitor this for you. It's worthwhile to buy another brand and be able to track your system's performance accurately.
It is still in development, but it will be a new feature to the app in the future. Your feedback is essential to us in improving our services, and we hope that by adding the feature, we can better meet the needs of our consumers.

SunPower got the panels installed. They said PG&E have to usher it in some kind of way and they haven't got it completely taken care of yet but other than that, the experience has been pretty good.

Signing up with SunPower was pretty simple and their people didn't play a bunch of games. I looked at several different companies and their rep was the most honest. The installers were good as well and they answered all my questions. SunPower's product and service is very good quality and since I went with them, the bill seems to be lower.

The SunPower system itself, so far, has been very good. The sales rep was fantastic on both occasions. The installation crew who came to the property has been amazing. Last year, I put 10 panels on my roof, and I was in England when that was being done. There was an eight-hour time difference, but that could not have gone more smoothly. This year, six extra panels and a battery has been a catalogue of disasters. The SunPower project manager has been useless and caused me numerous problems. The communication with him had been appalling. He had not emailed or phoned. He had information that he did not pass on. I have had to chase constantly. I have had people turn up to do inspections at my property when I wasn't aware.
Because of his inability to give me advance notice of anything, I have had to cancel clients at the last minute. I've lost about $7,000 in income over the last two months because of his ineptitude. I emailed specifically to say, "Do not send people to my house. I have clients that I need to have confidential conversations with." Yet, he still didn't tell me what was happening and didn't give me notice of appointment, which I knew from the people who turned up were in their calendar 10 days before. There was also one occasion where I had 10 minutes notice of someone turning up. Either he's incredibly new and doesn't understand his job or he somehow has exploded and just become so big that they can't handle the amount of work that they've got. He is incredibly bad at what he's supposed to be doing. He should not be working. Would I recommend SunPower again? Absolutely not.

The installer was good and easy to work with. But we had a problem because we had lightweight ceramic tiles on the roof. So, the installers removed the tiles and installed shingles back there because that was what was easiest for them to install the panels on and nobody could see the shingles anyway. It's on a hillside and you can't see the installation unless you go down on a street below us. Other than that, it was fun watching the electric meter run backwards once the system got installed.

The installation was seamless. SunPower did a very good job. The electric bill savings is a big deal. It’s going on two years now, and we probably dropped our electric bill by 40%. They came out and serviced one of the panels. They got a way to detect a problem. Go for SunPower.

On the first month that we got SunPower, the bill was $3 and in addition to that, there was a note that said we saved an entire time of carbon equal to what it would normally have been released. At this point, we're only six months into having solar but it's been absolutely positive ever since we got the system installed. And they installed it in a day which was mind boggling.

SunPower did everything they said they were going to do and when they said they were going to do it. That should be normal, but it’s rare. And the price was what they said it was going to be. The installation was also great. They said they were going to do it in one day. They came in in the morning, showed me how to get to the app to monitor the usage, and introduced me to the box that’s out there. Then they were done and they left around 2:00.

I liked SunPower and the rep that I got than any of the others. I wouldn't recommend any of the other companies. The rep, Bill, was very informative and I was very satisfied with him. The installation was quicker than what another rep had said and they were good. The lease is 20 years as opposed to 25 years, which saves money and I have not had an electric bill at all since I put the solar panels on my house.
I am 100% satisfied with the panels and my choice and wished I had done it when I first moved in. It would have literally saved me thousands and thousands of dollars. I'm glad about saving money but I'm frustrated with the customer service. SunPower's customer service is lacking. I was depending on good information from them, which I never got. They were very courteous but they contradicted one another. I got to the point where I was quoting and writing down what each one of them said. To get to the truth, I had to call the electric company and they figured it out for me. The other thing is nobody could tell me why I got a refund for $32.

SunPower had the best recommendation. We looked at a couple other places. I like the panels that SunPower used. They were the higher grade cells. Signing up with them was great. I contacted the SunPower's agent in Vacaville and he seemed to be very professional. But occasionally, there were some questions that were not answered thoroughly, especially about how to calculate the payment. I know the professionals understand about that but that doesn't mean we understand everything. Some details sounded tricky and I'd like to find everything to be very straightforward and nothing to be hidden. Other than that, they have already saved us money and I hope the system can last as long as it is promised for 25 years.

Since using SunPower, our electric cost is much lower. The signup process was all pretty good. We had a good sales rep. The installers were prompt as far as coming in, doing the installation, and getting it done the same day. Customer service-wise, they're exceptional as far as guiding you through each step of the process. They were really on time and clear as far as giving you all the information.

I was told that I only needed 26 panels and I got 27. They're getting extra kilowatt hours every month and they're accumulating so they're working really good. SunPower set it up on my computer on my internet so I could click over to it and see what I'm producing per day and per hour. Since having it, my bill is zero. The only thing I pay is $13 for administration fees where Duke Energy has to go over the stuff in HR and I got about 4,000 kilowatt hours over I got stored right now. When we had those cloudy days, they used them for me.
I had a problem with it because they said to watch for the purple light if the purple light was on, and all of a sudden, it went green. I called up and the lady said they changed the colors from purple to green and that green is go. She also said that every one of the panels are working perfectly and if I have a problem, they're connected to mine. If I'm not producing right, to call them and they could look up the computer and pull mine up and see which panel was bad, and after they do that, they would replace it.
The thing about them too, is they use a lot of copper in their solar panels, and copper is a better conductor for electricity. It doesn't heat up and wear down as fast. That's better than steel. If both panels are steel and the sun was beating on it and copper where you touched a steel, it'll be hot as heck because you're gonna burn your hand, but copper wouldn't. I checked everything out and read everything. It took me two years to get it because I wanted to make sure that I did that. Overall, I would suggest SunPower to anybody.

The salesman, Spencer, was phenomenal. We did everything on the phone because he's in Austin and we're 400 miles from there. He answered all our questions to the level of detail that I needed to know with my little analytical mind. We don't make decisions quickly so he gave us space when we needed it. We talked to him several times on the phone, and we were really pleased with the help that we got from him. We talked to other companies and Spencer was a huge part of us choosing SunPower. He did a really good job managing that process for us. I've sent people to him because he was that good.
The installation experience was not so good. We were supposed to have been installed in by September but it happened in November. They were trying to schedule enough jobs out here in rural West Texas to make it worth their while to come but it took forever to get them out here so that was a little frustrating. But when they got here, the guys were phenomenal. They got it done quickly and efficiently. They cleaned up after themselves and were polite. The only problem that I had was that they were supposed to have changed out our breaker box, which they did, but they didn't put a big enough one in there. But it got taken care of as soon as somebody found out about it. They paid a local electrician to come in and put in the right size box.
I'm very happy with what we've done. There were some hiccups, but life happens. We did not have low bills though. In fact, we had two highest we've ever paid, more than $500 a month electric bills. We had a really cold winter here and we have an electric heat. But in April, we got our first bill that we didn't have to pay something, which we were very excited about.

The solar panel system was put in in August and the process was very simple. The biggest and toughest thing to do was trying to sift through all the technological aspects of it and figure out what was gonna work best for me, what has the biggest capability of lasting lots of years, and what has the best warranty. The guy that came out to talk to us about SunPower knew what he was talking about and the layout of their proposal was such that it made it very easy for me to decide which way to go. I got four quotes from various people in the central Illinois area and there were a couple of things that put it over the top for SunPower. Of major importance to me were the microinverters and the microinverters that SunPower uses seemed to be the best on the market. I was a little disappointed that SunPower was just quoting their own microinverter but when I found out that it was a licensed microinverter and attached to each panel, that impressed me a lot.
The other thing is there's a very generous warranty on the panels with SunPower. Unlike their competitors, the panels are warrantied not to lose more than 8% of their production capacity over 25 years. Many of the other panels started out just as good as far as production, but they could not claim that they wouldn't lose much more than that over the life of 25 years. With SunPower, there was also a warranty that the roof would not leak for 10 years They would come back if there are any problems. I have already recommended them to many of my friends and one of them has already ordered for springtime delivery and install.

The installers were great, and I've been very satisfied that the system does what it wants to do. With PG&E doing their shtick, I'm going to have to put more panels up there and get a couple of batteries. Overall, Sunpower was very good. The only thing I didn't like about it was getting onto the thing where they check your usage and you can look at it. That was difficult because I use a Mac desktop instead of a phone.

The installation crew was great. The manager and the staff were very friendly. So, everything was good on that end. Where the ball got dropped by the company HES, was the timeline and the communication, to where the inspector who was going to come the next day didn't come. I didn't get a call and the installation was rescheduled a minimum of two times. It wasn't so much the product, SunPower, it was just the process and the communication that I got, which is where it was just really bad.
I started back in May when I signed up. And I immediately went and got the HOA forms filled and my neighbors' signatures. I streamlined everything super quickly. I took pictures of my attic and the property. Everything on my end was streamlined pretty quick and I didn't get turned on until August 25th. I know it takes time to get the panels turned on. If I didn't have to continuously call to figure out what was going on and if things were being relayed to me, then I would have totally understood. Other than that, as far as SunPower and the technology and the microinverters and the panels, the product is great.

SunPower had an incentive where you could save some money if you did your roof and solar panels at the same time. The installation team did a good job and the panels have worked really great. When we did our Tesla PowerWall, that ended up getting delayed quite a bit. My criticism is they overschedule so it takes them longer to get it done than I or they would like.
Their app could also be improved. It doesn't show you how much you're using. It shows what you're generating at the moment but it's nice to see the flow back and forth between the grid and the batteries. I wish the app was more like Tesla's. I tend to use that more now because it'll show me where the batteries are charging and how charged they are. Also, Tesla's app communicates with the National Weather Service so if there's gonna be a power outage, it'll charge your batteries all the way so you're prepared for that. But as far as the finished product, SunPower gets an A+. I would recommend SunPower but I would tell others when they're picking their installer to make sure they're not overscheduled and try to lock down a date about when the panels get installed.

SunPower has panels that produce a lot of power per square foot taken on the roof. There's a lot of papers to sign, but they guide you through it pretty easily. SunPower is good. The app works though it doesn't tell you any results broken down per panel so I can't tell which one is producing better than the other.

The installation went really well till a guy fell through the ceiling. He slipped off one of the boards up there. His leg came right through the ceiling, but they took care of that. Everything went really smoothly with our experience with SunPower. So far, we have a lot lower utility bills.

I like SunPower's financing option, warranty, technology, and panels. They manufacture every part of the system. The sales process was pretty straightforward though we went back and forth on multiple proposals. The installation process was a bit fragmented though 'cause they ended up outsourcing. It seems they have different partners for different parts of the project and the communication between them was abysmal. The panels were installed first before the electrical system was upgraded. So, the panel sat on the roof for about a month before anything was done. It took a month longer than it should have. I initially signed the contract back in April and I started producing in mid-August.

SunPower accommodated all my needs. When I enrolled with them, it was smooth. The installation was fast. They came on the scheduled date, took about four or five hours to install everything, and then took another two weeks to get the electrician out and connect everything. Got all of the approvals from the electric company and started producing solar.

I've had SunPower now for a little over a year. I made a phone call the other night to inquire if there is anything within SunPower's regime that could supply me with a backup storage batteries for my existing solar system that they had Summit Power put in. The rep I talked to was pleasant and somewhat informative. He told me I needed to get with somebody in their billing department to see if there's any financing capabilities that can be modified or added to my current lease purchase plan that I have with SunPower for the solar energy system, and whether or not that they can come back and install the backup storage battery system. I had a power outage last week for 15 hours and that's even with the solar power. If I had a backup system such as a generator or backup storage batteries, then that would have eliminated a lot of my power shortage. Other than that, I have no problem with SunPower.

The installation was scheduled as soon as SunPower could. I had a timeline because I needed to go on vacation and go out of town. They worked within that timeline, which was short. They stayed on it, and it was good. We're less than a year in, but it seems that the panels are making a good amount of energy. We're making more than we're using.

The salesperson instilled significant confidence, and we really liked him. We met with four other people who were idiots and simply did not like them and kept stalling on putting in a system because of that. The SunPower installers met with me and told me largely what they were going to do. On install day, the first crew arrived and installed the pylons because we did an in-ground system and they had to put foundations. They did the underground work and that took four days then the installation of the panels took a day and a half, which was quick. The way it goes together was like a Lego set. After that, they finished up the electrical.
SunPower has an excellent app. It takes some of the mystery out of what the installation is doing, and it also allows them to monitor it. In so doing, they found one of the micro-converters was bad and they came out and replaced it. Overall, we're very pleased that we did solar. It produces the power that we want. During these dreary months with this cloud covering things, it's not producing significantly, but it's doing fine and we're happy with it. I have recommended it to friends a number of times in California Solar.

Everybody on the SunPower team in San Diego came to my house and my rental house that I own, and they were the A-team. Maya the project manager was excellent. Also, on the statements that I get on my computer, we're doing okay. I haven't gotten any major bills to pay. It's just me and my wife, and we're careful about how we follow the 9 to 4 o'clock usage of power. I don't leave lights on, unless I need a couple, but nothing critical.

When the original people came, they didn't have a ladder big enough. Fortunately, I did and we got the installation done. From the time that they completed the build-out, there were some delays of people not getting the right paperwork to the right people because it took a long time to get the approval from the power company to turn our system on. Nobody was going to admit it, but it took way longer than it should have from when they completed all the processes until we got to flip the switch. The whole thing took eight weeks.
I realized that SunPower is the manufacturer behind the scene and it was Moxie, the local company, that did the actual work. I've called SunPower a couple of times and got very nice response and answers to my questions. So, that's really good. With Moxie, for the most part, was just funny how you don't hear anything for quite a while, then bingo, it was off to the races immediately. For the month of November, my system said that I had plus 60 kilowatt hours and the power company used to think I had 20. And my numbers showed me 340 and 360, where the two numbers they showed how much I used versus how much they generated, and mine were in the 500s. But the daily numbers seemed to match when I started looking at the two companies.
I was going to start with SunPower's customer service and ask if they have a clue how power companies do it to get such weird number. It looked like for the daily numbers, we were aligned, but for the monthly numbers were just out of whack and their numbers seemed to jive. You're able to pull all of them out and look at them, and then they totaled to what SunPower says it totals to. And you go to the power company and the daily numbers don't add up to what they say the monthly is. Then again, as long as I'm in the plus, I'm not complaining short-term. But I want to figure it out so I have a better idea. Other than that, SunPower has done a really good job.

Bill Solar Review was great and the installation is going well. But SunPower could respond to my emails about when we're going to be on a schedule to install the electronic vehicle charger. It's taking a while. Other than that, they were good with everything else and I'm really happy with the job. The crew was very respectful and they did their job and left a clean worksite.

I needed to redo my roof and I was very pleased to know that SunPower's installers also did that. So, I put on a new roof on my house on my garage. I also wanted to go solar mainly because I do have that in my home in Sarasota County, Florida and it's doing so well. I was looking to see if I could get that done in my home here and I was very pleased that I did. I researched and I settled with Kamtech Solar. Everything went very smoothly. Aside from that, this is my third bill from Con Edison and I'm very pleased with the reduction.
But I'm not pleased that the techs were supposed to come and cover up some ugly green wire that connected the Con Ed box to the solar junction right outside the house under the awning and they never came and covered that. I called and every time they were saying somebody was going to come and do it, but nobody came to do it. It's still ugly. When I walk into my house, I see these green wires stapled with silver staples and they're running alongside the foyer of the house going down to connect to the water trap and alongside my wall. Thank God my draperies are covering it but if I was supposed to change those draperies, I would have a problem.
Once our system passed inspection and everything was up and running, I expected SunPower to keep their word and come and cover these wires. But I'm trying to overlook that because the job was done, it passed inspection, and that's the important thing. When the young man who owns the company came to look at work that they have done, he agreed that some changes needed to be made and they needed to fix certain things. And they did, with the exception of that. I also mentioned to him that this billing process was not up to par in my book as an accountant. I told him that they need to get someone that is more capable of outlining and breaking down their billing so people would see what they're paying for and that's something he agreed with as well
He wanted to hire me, but I'm not into that right now. I was giving him pointers for someone else. As a professional, I can overlook those things because I know what I'm paying for. He said he would think about it, but then I quickly realized that it's a young company and you need to give people a chance to make improvements. And I hope they have done that. Aside from that, I wanted the salesman that worked with me to send that information to my insurance company. You can do it from one computer to another, but that could not be done with SunPower and that was a bit disappointing. I have to now try to capture pictures of what was done to send to my insurance company for them to adjust my insurance.
But the salesman was very nice. He said he'd take it to his boss and he did. I was very pleased that the boss took time to come to my home, sit with me, and look around and see the work that his people had done and was able to not be upset, but take notes on things that I was telling him to better improve his business.
So far, with the heavy rains we had, my husband went up on the roof and everything was intact. My neighbors were also talking to me about my solar and I let them know that everything that SunPower had done is fine. As far as the job itself, the first time II told them that it was not going to pass inspection and the guy looked at me as if asking what did I know. But it did not pass inspection and he had to reduce certain things. It passed inspection after that. Initially, I wanted to go with this company simply because of the repertoire that they had. I went online and I looked at work that they have done and I was very pleased. I knew that they didn't have enough manpower to do what they needed to do, so things took longer than it should. But they got done.
All in all, I would totally recommend SunPower because I was very impressed at a young company take on something like this and did very well. Plus, I wanted to deal with one company who can do my roof and do my solar. I didn't want to go talk to Jack at what Jim has done and the name game and who is blaming who. I wanted a company who can handle the package, and they were able to do that. They had an A-class team working with me and they didn't mind a woman looking at what they were doing and cleaning up behind them. They told me they could clean up but I said I could do it. So, they were cleaning, I was cleaning, and they said they loved it. I fed them, too. There's nothing like having a meeting and you have something to feed your workers. So, I treated them like I did my workers at the office and they loved it.

They came out and gave us the estimate. We did the financing. They contacted us saying that they were going to come out and install. Took about two days. The installers were great. The follow-up with Ambrose Solar has been really good.

In the very beginning, I was inclined towards SunPower because I've been watching the quality of their panels and their growth in the product over the last 10 years. I got a couple of other bids, but they were close enough that I elected to go with SunPower. Plus, there were two SunPower installations across the street with different installers. When I signed up, the guys I talked to at SunPower, especially the one named David, were excellent on the facts and how the solar panels themselves as well as the assemblage fits into the utility and PG&E. They also knew how the amount of energy compares with the amount of use. David was very encouraging that I make up my own mind about how much I needed and he was perfectly willing to step up and say what he thought we needed.
So, it was great walking into the installation process and I was very happy. The installation itself seemed very good to me and there was this great guy who went down in the attic slicker than a gopher snake going into a mouse hole. He did a great job of laying the wires, too. Typically, people go up in the attic and they just throw stuff wherever they want it, period. But he was very careful. He ran it along the edges and nailed it into the 2x4’s, the rafters, and the joists. Then they hooked up with PG&E and everything went smoothly.
But SunPower's relationship with the installers was unclear upfront and I had to find that out for myself. We're in Northern California and SunPower is in San Jose. They shipped the installation off to an outfit in Vacaville, so I was a little bit concerned about that. There was nothing nefarious about it though and I feel pretty good about it now because now that I've seen them do their installation.

Also, everything went great with the installation, although they had to wait on me to get a new roof put on the garage. SunPower has been okay, but the process could be better. We needed to get the approval from the city and our HOA has some guidelines that we needed to follow in terms of the solar panel installation. SunPower‘s competitor usually can take care of those things for the homeowner but SunPower asked us to deal with the HOA by ourselves.

Enrolling with SunPower was one of the easiest things I've done. They were very helpful all the way and the install was amazing. The solar panels turned up on a Wednesday and the hardware turned up on a Thursday. The guys turned up at 12:00 Thursday morning and by 3:00 Friday afternoon, they were finished and going home. The system was turned on and I just had to wait for my local electric company to come and put the two-way meter in. Once they put the bi-directional meter in, I got home and I turned the meter on myself. I flipped the switch and went online and started collecting power. Also, I got an app on my phone and I can check in anywhere I'm at.

SunPower got us in quickly and their installers were here and done in two days. I dealt with them after the fact and they walked me through everything. However, SunPower needs to open up their options with financing companies. The one we had to use was terrible.

The reps were very friendly and helpful and they seemed to know what they were talking about. Also, they didn't sound like salespeople, they sounded like just real people and I like that. Then, enrollment was very easy. They sent a DocuSign for the paperwork that needed to be signed and guided me through the process. They did most of the heavy lifting.
I went solar a little bit late in the year and we get less sunshine this time of year in the Northeast. It's slow but I can see things happening. I'm able to check my production through the app and I see that I am producing power during the times where the sun is up. I'm overproducing what I'm using, but the sun sets pretty early. I expect it to mix next summer.

I enjoyed the conversation I had with Freedom Solar who was our installer. I was very happy with the process. The panel looked fantastic on the roofs and they did a good job of hiding the wires everywhere. Overseeing from the costing standpoint, our summer bills were somewhere in the 350 range but it was less than 100 bucks on our first month with SunPower. My last month was $7.

It went very well with SunPower. The installation got delayed because we got our house repaired. But once we got that repaired and they set the date, they came right in and took care of the installation quickly. The only problem was we kept waiting for PG&E to connect us. That took a little bit longer than we anticipated. That was probably the longest of the whole process. But when we finally got it going, we were happy. SunPower is definitely the way to go. We're very pleased.

They did a virtual presentation with the computer and it was very well done. It was explained very well. Once I signed on with them, they took care of pretty much everything -- HOAs and utility company filings. I was extremely happy with their team. The system has been operational now for about five months on my house and so far, it seems to be working pretty well.

I got a little bit less power than I thought I was going to and I'm a little bit disappointed in that. I thought it would get more power than what their projections were but it's fine. The rep educated me and that was good. Also, I noticed certain months with no electric bills, which was nice.

The contractor that did the install did a good job. It took a long time from the start of the project to when the system was powered up but that was mostly because of all the permitting process which was difficult. They broke ground in February but to route the wiring, get the construction done and get finally powered up took five months. But other than that, SunPower was fantastic.
When the contractor installed the panels and powered everything up, the system was only supplying about two thirds of what they advertised. A couple of weeks later, I was looking at the system and noticed that about a third of the panels on the micro inverters had a red light while all the other ones had a green light. I called SunPower and they came out the next day. In about 30 minutes, they fixed it. Then something was wrong with one of the strings. There was some lose connection. The field tech was able to troubleshoot it in about an hour. Since then, the system has been exactly as advertised. The service is outstanding. Going solar with SunPower pays for the whole bill. Yeah. My power bill is zero now. I'm very happy.

The installation went terrible. There was roof damage and I got a very poor response from the installer. It took six months for this issue to get resolved. It was just resolved last week. Then, when he reinstalled the panels last week, there are still some minor issues. They still haven't been able to fix the monitoring system that they installed. I was without solar power generation for about three months because he took the panels off. But SunPower's products are fine, although they didn't step in to help me out and push this issue along.

The installers were here early in the morning, and they came back the following day to finish up. I thought I would get a delay in the process because of the electric company, having to upgrade the meter and their approval for them. But everything pretty much went smooth and wasn't that long. From start to finish, it was three weeks because SunPower couldn’t activate the grid until someone from O & R and Building Inspections came and saw the finished product. Having SunPower, the bill is a lot lower.

SunPower had one group come out to make sure that all of the connection to the power grid was set up and another group came out to install the cells themselves. The project for the workshop is complete and the one for the house is in process. I want to make sure I get the same group when they come to do the house because they were phenomenal. They were very careful with the property and were professional in the installation. The system in the workshop went up in early July and I've already had some storms and wind but it's perfect. It works perfectly and there's not a drop of problems.
They handled everything from the paperwork to the coordination of the installation all the way to turn it on with the electric company. It's really great to work with one organization to do everything. Also, the warranty is really good. If there's any problem with it, they've got the crews to be able to come and also if there's any damage to the house from hail or something like that where they have to get to the roof, they do all the coordination for pulling any panels off or fixing anything that was broken.

The sales rep was good and the process was seamless. However, I'm still worried about the time it rained and got a leak. I had a leak before and they sent a guy out who put some more stuff on the roof. That held for a little while but in that same area, I still have a little leak because I have a drop in the ceiling and when the water comes, it leaves a stain. They are telling me that if it’s not sun-related, then I might have to pay for it.

Enrolling with SunPower went well. There were a few logistics in the state of California that make it a little bit weird. But the project of installing it was handled well. However, they have a monitoring service that goes with it. When they installed it, they missed the firmware upgrade that made the whole thing drop out. I had to be the one that noticed that even though it's monitored, it ended up costing us $1,000 in energy that was not produced. It is not being profitable in that first year and that was because of their lack of monitoring.
Then they also had to put in a new electrical box. It didn't fit in our current one. They did that installation but didn't install the stuff needed in order to monitor both in and out power. Even though they were in full control, they didn't go ahead and give us what we really needed. It felt a little bit cheap on that side, from that one little thing. But overall, pleasant experience. I'm happy with what I have.

The rep, Jeremy, was good and I liked all the reps. They took care what I needed. They got me up to date when everything was going to happen. I had a little hiccup with the inverters though. Some of them and some of the panels weren't working so I wasn't noticing much of a difference for the first month or two. On my app, it said that there was something wrong with my system. A couple of devices won't work. I emailed and called but wasn't getting much back. Kelsey gave me the service department number and it still took me a little bit, but finally, once they started realizing that it wasn't doing what it was supposed to do, they came out and fixed what needed to be fixed. I got a third or fourth bill and they're starting to come down.

The enrollment process of SunPower was very good. There was a global pandemic that happened so that delayed things a little bit but it wasn't their fault. The service was good. They did the installation within two days. But when they came and did the inspection, they had to make a little hole in the wall to look at the roof. They patched it and it wound up being a hole. But besides that, everything else was good. The people were excellent, too.

This is the third house I've had SunPower on. I'm pretty upset with the rep this time. When you give him a new customer, they pay you. I asked him if I could get paid for me. They said yes, they would give me $1,000. But I haven't seen it and they told me the deal expired. That was misleading. With the first two experiences, I was totally pleased with them. In fact, I recommended them to quite a few people. But this last time, when they ended up lying to me, that makes me not want to represent them to anybody.

Their customer service was really good and they're really responsive to email. The rep did a very good job explaining how SunPower's panels have a nice warranty and that they're created to last a little longer. They're built a little sturdier than the other panels in the market. The installation was done just before the pandemic hit and the installers were really good. They were on time, very respectful of our time, and they cleaned up their mess. The system is performing as expected. When I was quoted from the representative that I would be generating about 120% of my current usage, that is what I'm actually getting. I've recommended SunPower to lots of people that are interested.

The purchase process was wonderful, how they really laid things out, explained the product, explained the company history, went through an evaluation of our property, and gave us a couple of options in terms of coverage based on our guidance to them. The installation process was great but the techs were a little too proactive. They didn't ask questions and communicate as much as they should have. They tried to get into my attic through a way that if they were successful, it would have been a disaster. They would have destroyed wood floors. Also, there was a question of who was gonna turn on the system. And I said, “I'm not turning it on. You got to send somebody over here to actually flip the switch 'cause I don't want something to go wrong, 'cause a three-step process, and have you guys point the finger at me.”
Those were the two things during the install and provisioning process that were a little funky. But besides that, everything was great. The system has been working as advertised since we got it. If you have the means to do it and you have kids, you should do it, because this is probably the biggest thing that you can do to help the environmental challenge that we're facing as a planet. The pricing has gotten to the point where it's breakeven, so there's no reason not to do it.

There was a miscommunication with the sales rep. That was unfortunate, but it happens. The roofer and the solar installers were fine. There were a couple of little miscommunications about how things were going to be done but we were able to deal with them in real-time. They were responsive. The panels are generating the power they're supposed to generate.

The whole process from start to finish was very smooth. We had some delays but it was more on the PG&E side. The permit to operate took a long time and there was a little bit of a miscommunication. That final step could have been done better. But other than that, everything is going great. SunPower is the best provider out there.

SunPower and Esmay, their supplier here, were Johnny-on-the-spot. The electricity company out here was a lot more coordinated than in California where we did solar too with SunPower. There, it took forever to get Southern California Edison to do what they needed to do to switch the meter. But the guys out here, it was fast Once they started, they got it done and the installation went slick as a whistle. We love it. We moved here in July 1st of 2019 and we had the system installed by December of 2019. So, we've been producing power ever since.
Check whether each of your panels have their own little micro transducer. So, if leaves fall on one panel, it doesn't take out your whole array. Also, find an installation company that will do fast, do well and stand by their work. I recommend SunPower. In California, there was an issue with that component that makes all the panels work. We had gotten them through Semper Solaris and they were able to coordinate through SunPower to get those things replaced. It was like a manufacturing problem with them and they were able to back up their product.

I used a vendor called Solartech and it went pretty well with them. We were mainly waiting for city approvals and once that was done, the installation was done pretty quickly, within a week. It was a smooth process and I'm happy with the amount of power that these SunPower panels are producing. Whatever was committed, I'm kind of getting around that much amount of energy. I'm happy to be a SunPower owner.

In the beginning, it was a little tough because it took so long to get everything hooked up. We had one little technicality. But I'm very satisfied right now. SunPower makes me aware of what I'm consuming. I have a couple of neighbors that ask me questions about SunPower and I try to explain it to the best of my ability. SunPower's explanations were clear and the process went smoothly. The products were delivered on time and on budget. They went through options of the different systems and what could be done. They checked the insulation on the roof and made sure that we have enough energy coming in. The last time I looked at it, I was doubting because we had a lot of trees. We cleared up the site and we ha have good clearance to the roof now. It worked out really well.
The Earthlight that was put in was excellent. They helped out in every way they could. The installation was nice and clean. They did a good job. We're right on delivering like 104% for the year so the system was sized properly and it's delivering exactly what we want. When I first got it, I was on the app all the time looking to see how much I was producing. Now, I only look at the bill and say, "Oh, it's $9 a month." But the app is nice to have so I can know that the system is working or if the panels look a little dusty, obviously, we haven't had rain for a while, I can check if it's still putting out a good amount of energy.
The system has been very good. It does its thing which is exactly what I want. I got over a year of experience and I'm very happy.

My sister next door had their panels put in and they dealt with Ambrose. I was very happy with what happened with them, so I decided to do the same. Their customer service is very good. If I have to put more panels on when PG&E raises their rates, I will go back to Ambrose.

I enjoyed working with SunPower. The sales rep was very informative. The only thing that I didn't like was they said you can get a $1,000 gift card but I didn't get it. Also, I've got a bill due with SunPower plus I've got to pay my power bill, and that's more than what I normally pay. I'm satisfied, but if my final bill does not come down, I will be very dissatisfied.

I went with Trinity Heating & Air Conditioning and they did SunPower. At the time, the efficiency of the panels were 4% and I was able to put up 6,000 kilowatts. Then, we waited until four years later, and that time, the legislature allowed up to 12,000 and at that point, EmPower Solar out on Long Island was in business. Trinity Heating & Air Conditioning wouldn't come back to the city from Jersey and they said it was too much of a trip. So, they wouldn't do it. So, our engineers at Con Edison sent me to EmPower out on Long Island and they use SunPower. I could have gotten a cheaper panel, a Chinese panel, but we decided to go with your top of the line and this is what we did.
Those panels were 8% efficient and now, the panels have gotten to the point where the unit cost was $8 a kilowatt. Now, we're down to, 4.5 and the efficiency has gone up to 22%. That has allowed me to do something that I never thought I would do. On our block here on 69th Avenue, we have a couple of brownstones that we own and on two of the two family brownstones, we put in solar panels and we were able to divide up the panels. 11 for the first floor and 11 for the second floor. And that gives my tenants 100% of their heating in the winter and 100% of their air conditioning in the summer. So, they pay the flat $18.62 a month, winter and summer.
My units are on all the time. They are set at 72, day and night in the wintertime, and in the summer, they're set for 68. And it takes 100% of our cooling and heating needs. The solar panels work, but they have to be attached to a heat pump system. So, we have a local installer of Mitsubishi air handler, so we have three handlers downstairs and three upstairs in all of our houses. And that takes care of 100% of our cooling and heating needs. So, I can't say enough about it. I'm waiting for the next generation of panels to come out and I'm hoping within my lifetime to see these things go from 22% up to 25, then 30%, and it will.
The average consumer who's going to be a homeowner should look upon this the same way that they look on buying a house, that is you're looking for the long haul. You're not looking for a quick fix because this is a significant investment. You're talking about spending a minimum of 15,000 for each floor on the costs after the rebates. In my two investment properties on the block here two years ago, I've gone through two complete cycles and they work marvelously. I'll also be happy to tell people about my experience with SunPower and I would do it all over again. In fact, I probably will on the remaining three homes that I have on the block that do not have solar on the roof. I will do that over the next three years or so, so I get away totally from fossil fuel and go 100% with sun.

The power went out for nine hours but I didn’t get notified. When I went on the app, I found out that the system wasn’t on. When I sent a compliant, I asked them if they were monitoring it, why wasn’t it being jumped on to be resolved. They didn't work on it until I told them that there was something going on. When I tried to talk to somebody in billing, that person was rude. I tried to find out why I was getting bills from ComEd. I thought that with the grid, everything was supposed to be taken care of. It was summertime and I was not utilizing any other power but I was getting a bill for 60 bucks from ComEd. That person was arrogant, didn't want to answer my questions, and hung up on me. But prior to that, the system has been good and when I reached out to the office in Downers Grove, I got an instant response. Now, I monitor the app a little more closely to make sure that it’s working.

I got four different quotes from four different companies and I liked the fact that SunPower had some of the best rated panels out there. I also liked that the company installing it was also the maker of the panels and it wasn't a third-party contractor that I'd have to chase down later. I am glad that SunPower is a big enough company and well enough respected that they have pretty good reviews online by both people that are using them and institutions that rate their service. Everything was great. It was well communicated. I also downloaded the SunPower app so I can see what I'm producing by the minute or by the hour. Somebody left a water bottle on the roof. It's under one of the panels and I can't get to it. But if that's the biggest issue, it's a win. I tell everybody I got SunPower and they should go for it.

The reps did a wonderful job. I liked how neat they made the batteries. They were very efficient and when I called to ask a few questions, I got correct answers. The solar panels are very attractive. I'm thankful that I got the battery type, where I didn't have to get so many solar panels. It works very well and my bill is getting way down. I put central air in the house and we are enjoying the air conditioning.

I set three appointments by three different solar companies and it came down to the production of the panels themselves. All three companies had very similar warranties and guarantees, but the SunPower panel produced more electricity. From start to finish - the initial presentation, the follow-up, the installation, the periodic updates - they knew what they were doing. It's a very pleasurable experience.

Everyone has been awesome. The nicest people. SunPower sticks to their word. Like, “I'm gonna be here at this time,” and they are. There was someone who called me on the 15th and the first couple of times went over the logging of the monthly with me. She said, “I’ll do this every time, if you like.” That they’re willing to go that extra mile has been nice. SunPower gave me a $500 cash card just for signing on. Also, if the system that they put in is under 10,000 kilowatts, then it’s a $500 finder's fee. And if it’s a bigger system, it’s $1,000.
The savings is amazing. I'm financing the system and what I'm producing covers the price every month. Plus, I'm making a little extra. My electric bill is $4.99 now. The system runs itself in my house, in terms of electricity now. But for every extra 1,000 kilowatts of electricity that I produce, I get paid $91.20. I’m financing it over 25 years. So, my payments are $107 a month. And I’m producing more. It’s 2,500 kilowatts I'm producing. So, I'm making $182 or $200. So, it’s paying for itself plus two tanks of gas. And they provide the federal incentives at tax time. I recommend SunPower as a company. Everything’s free, but you’re sure of the quality and they’re a higher quality.

My Solar system has a Ground Fault/Inverter Off-Line on the Inverter screen. I called Sunpower and they directed me to their Dealers. I called few of them and the said my inverter is obsolete and provided me with a quote of about $16,000 for installation of a brand-new system with a modern Inverter without coming to check what the issues were. One of them asked me to call Sunpower because it has 20 years warranty on their system. I called SunPower and the technician escalated the case and said a technician would contact me in 3-5 business days. When the technician called, he left a me a message that he researched and found out that my Inverter is out of warranty. I called SunPower, they said their warranty only covers the Panel which is the cheapest of all the components. So sad to be in this kind of situation after my system was paid off. They could send someone to check on it, it might be a Fuse or minor issue. I'm very disappointed.

We decided to go solar due to the rising cost of utilities, cleaner energy, and semi-independence from the utilities grid (opted out of storage installation). Getting the solar panels installed was a breeze, thanks mostly to Thomas **, our project manager and we worked with All Bay Solar to get the installation. Thomas kept us informed throughout the process. Especially loved that Thomas oversaw the interconnection application with PG&E. Love having solar for power - already experienced a power outage that didn't impact us much since we had power during the day. We plan to purchase an EV in the future and excited to know that we will contribute near zero emission when we drive. Highly recommend Sun Power and hope you get Tom as your PM.

My recent experience, which is what this review is about, is because my monitoring system wasn't working properly for a few days. I called and the team got right on it. My issue had to be escalated, which I received an email about the next day, and by the second day, the issue was resolved. We started the process with SunPower in spring and it wasn't until late August or the beginning of September that it got turned on. That kinda made us mad. We lost a couple of really good months. The enrolment was a lot of paperwork and going back and forth. It was getting ridiculous. But most of the reps are very courteous.

I wanted to save money so I bought a total panel install with $0 out of pocket and I have had it for 3 months. After my install was done I have not paid 1 cent in power bills. I do not have gas so everything is electric. My payment on my system is $75 to $100 a month less than what I would have paid for electricity every month anyway and now my house is worth the price of the system more. I cannot say how much I love Sun Power and Terrence ** is the man to talk to. I know I wanted Solar but heard of horror stories, but can assure you EVERYONE I have dealt with was super professional and and I am super happy with my system. Note: I did not do the battery back-up system but I may upgrade to it later.

We decided to go solar to save money. Typical monthly bills over $500. Our first bill with solar power was $129. That says a lot right there without getting in to lease fees. It took considerable money out of Eversource pockets....

I've had my solar for over a year now and love it. The only issue I have is them changing the Sunpower monitoring. The old system will be discontinued on 12/31/21. I had downloaded the new MySunpower monitoring system, but I forgot my password so I am unable to access it. I tried to reset my password, but so far no response.

I had nothing but a good experience with SunPower. I dealt with a number of people and everyone was very professional and very knowledgeable. One of my concerns was the penetration to the roof. I didn't want any leaks. The installation crew penetrated the roof 27 times and they explained to me how they penetrate and how there won't be a leak. They were right. I went through some serious rains and nothing. The panels look beautiful and they perform beautifully.
The panels were installed in June. We have sun all day and there are no obstructing trees. I have central air and I ran the air conditioner the whole time. I had two bills from the electric company, which normally would have been $300. The bills were now around $50 to $60. I'm donating more to the grid than I use. I outlaid $17,000 in cash and I'll become whole again in six and a half years. After that, I will have free electricity for the next 19 years. It’s awesome.

We have a good friend in Santa Clarita who's a contractor for SunPower and we tried to get him to do the work. However, we were outside of his service area because we live in Santa Barbara. He said they’re great panels. I didn't do a lot of comparing the specs but just based on the reputation. We got a proposal in January of this year from Cepi Power Solutions and we were to go live in September, so it was about an eight-month process, and part of that was getting the financing approval. Once the finance was approved and the contractor had his instructions to proceed, then he had to order the parts. He took care of all that. He did the permitting, he did the plan and he subcontracted with a roofer. Then, a lot of it was waiting for the permit to get approved, so it was out of his control.
One thing I like about SunPower is their low profile. I've seen a lot of solar panels on roofs that look very ugly because they look like they were just tacked on. In our case, they removed the clay tiles. They put down asphalt shingle. Then they put the solar panels over the asphalt shingle. The SunPower panels are about the same level as the remaining clay tile so it's not even noticed when one is looking up. So, very happy with the aesthetics of the project. I’d recommend SunPower.

The two and a half things that impressed me about SunPower were the production capability of what appeared to be the efficiency of the units, the quality and breadth of the warranty, and that the product was fairly attractive being all black. We have a very classic colonial home and I can put them on the detached garage, which is showing to the south. And so while they'd be a little bit visible, they wouldn't be all that overpowering and distracting. Because of the size of the surface, I wanted very efficient units, so I didn't have to have too many panels.
Another thing I liked was that they had a master installer who was well-regarded by SunPower. Things went pretty well. It took longer than I had anticipated to get the final light off of the system but that's the way it is.

The quality of SunPower's product is superior. But I had several issues with the installer, Freedom Solar. One was timeliness, they were short-crewed, and there was poor communication. The burden fell on me to bug them and say they needed to finish the installation. That happened three times. When they installed the panels, they wired it incorrectly so we didn't pass inspection. They had to come back and correct that. When they turned on the meter, they had the wrong meter selected so my numbers were not reading correctly. It took me three phone calls to get that corrected. Finally, I never had my closing conference. It fell upon me to bug them and say they needed to schedule that. I got that through to them and I got an email yesterday to do the closing conference.
On top of all of that, I was frustrated with my salesman. He sold the product to me then washed his hands off everything. Every time I tried to call him and ask where we were on things, he didn't know. He pushed it back to me. Up to the last closing conference, I kept saying I wasn't scheduled yet. As a salesman, he should have been on top of that. On the whole, I've been pleased with SunPower as a product but not with the installer.

Customer service has been fabulous. They were professional from the start and they did an outstanding job with the information I had. Sometimes we have a power outage with solar. Once we're hooked to the grid, then when the power goes out, it goes out for everybody. It doesn't continue running for the people because we're kicking into the grid. But I'm extremely happy that we got the solar. It's definitely prevented us from some huge bills during the summertime.

SunPower seemed to be the best on the market at the time. One of the questions that everybody asked was about the costs, and I'd rather pay the loan for the panels than pay the power company, and to install a large enough project that at the end of the year, it's going to be net-zero as far as an energy company is concerned, and that was the path that we took. The installation went smoothly considering that we're in the middle of a pandemic and all the supply chain issues. EmPower did a good job of communicating. They were available when I needed them or if have a question. I really like the fact that we're a greener home than before. My carbon footprint is smaller. I'm contributing to helping improve things on the planet. We're all very happy with the decision that we made in our household. Also, we're setting a good example for our children.

I like SunPower's reliability and its name brand. It seemed to have quality associated with it. It also has a good warranty. The installation went smoothly. The only thing that held it up was some permitting and the power company. But the installers were very professional, worked very quickly, and got the system that we wanted up. I've been satisfied with it. I feel good that even though I spent a little more money than I could have with another vendor, if anything ever happens to the system, even though it’s working well now, I can just call SunPower and they’ll take care of it.

Getting fully set up took a while and that was just because of issues in the city. But then the panels were installed quickly. The installers did a good job. There was one that came a second time that put a decent scratch on our house, but everything else was fine and seems to be working properly. The experience was really decent with SunPower with the one exception that the person who came out and talked to me at first was very responsive. I also asked questions in an email about batteries and I was answered once saying that there was more information they wanted to send to me, and it was never sent even when I asked again, so that was disappointing. It's been over a month and a half now and I haven't gotten an answer.

My experience with SunPower has been mostly positive. We have 23 panels because we were told that that would give us 105% of our annual utilization. We had a couple of people come out and do the site assessment. It was over the course of a day. People jumped up on the roof and installed all the panels. Four days later, our energy provider came out and validated everything. It was another week after that that they got turned on. Since then, my electrical bill has been lower.

I liked that I didn't have to borrow 40,000 or $50,000 to put solar in because SunPower is rented. By renting it, they own it, they maintain it, they monitor it. If a panel goes out, they know exactly which one and they come out and replace it or fix it. They looked at our electric bill for over the whole year, and then they calculated how many panels I would be getting. I've only had it in about two months. But so far, it's been doing good. I have already recommended them to people.

I installed SunPower panels about 14 years ago on my roof and I've been very happy. They had no issues for 14 years and instead of adding new panels, I needed to rip and replace because I wanted more power. I removed the old one and installed their panels in early July. I'm very happy with SunPower's solar panels and I would recommend the contractor that came here, Freedom Solar, who gave the panels to someone who could reuse them instead of recycling them. The only thing is their monitoring system does not allow me to have per panel monitoring while the competing solution from Clean Solar, an LG set of panel and a different set of inverter would have allowed me to have a full solution that could monitor per panel.

The sales PROCESS with SunPower was exponentially better than SunRun and Tesla. Not even close. SunPower was totally no pressure throughout the process, starting with scheduling an initial discussion, where I was able to pick my desired day and time, and how I wanted to connect (phone, Zoom, other). The other companies called me repeatedly until I answered, and then kept me on the phone over an hour without ever asking if it was a good time for me. SunPower's consultant was also far more knowledgeable on all of the details, and was also the most responsive. On top of that, SunPower's actual product is considerably superior, and they had the biggest variety of financing options too. I honestly don't know why anyone would go with a company other than SunPower, as they are in a class of their own.

I went solar to save money over the long run; being able to simultaneously help the environment/reduce emissions was a bonus. All my dealings were with Renova and not Sun Power; however, I did pay attention to the solar cells themselves (having a history working with amorphous silicon solar cells). I was impressed with their efficiency both initial and in late life. The installation went smoothly and my first month's electrical bill was $7.98 compared to friends and neighbor's bills that approached $1000. I have and will continue to recommend Renova and Sun Power to friends.

We went solar to reduce our electric bills significantly and to help the environment. The Tesla powerwalls also gives us an emergency backup source against electric interruptions from the grid. We have not seen our first reduced bill yet as the system has only been operational for less than a month. Rising Sun Solar is recommended as an installer.

During the purchasing process the salesman left me with the believe the system would feed my house first and then the grid. This is correct only if the grid is up and running. If the grid goes down the system shuts down and the energy gets wasted (to protect the grid workers). I called SunPower they replied the problem can get solved with a battery (if the system can handle it ????). They provided me with a name for the battery installer. The installer told me there are no batteries available. The commercial for the not existing battery says; it could last for up to 3 days. Which means: during an outage the system does not feed the battery and we still waste energy.

Our sales rep laid out the plan, why we should choose SunPower over other suppliers and issues that had come up in the past, and it was convincing. The installation was done in a day. The team was efficient. However, there was a period where the reporting dropped a little bit and I had to go multiple places to get the data that I wanted. They did the change but there wasn't any announcement of that. I lived with that for a while then inquired later and found out there's a new application. SunPower could have managed that a little better. Instead of letting me find the solution, they could have provided that to me. The other thing that could make the experience better is to show the amount of credit that I have banked. I have to go through some convolutions in order to find that out. It would be helpful to see in the application what my balance is.

Based on everything I read and people I talked to, SunPower seemed like the best of all the choices I had. They didn't try to sell me anything other than solar power. There were no gimmicks, no batteries and no crazy financing. Their support was excellent and so was their follow through and keeping me informed of everything. We had some problems in the beginning but mostly on the web interface and not on the panels themselves. I went through my installer and within a day or two, everything was resolved. I've had the panels for almost two and a half months now and I love them.

Based upon the fact that our friends and neighbors had had such good results with SunPower, they were our primary focus from the beginning. We didn't compare too many other companies other than reading some reviews online. I had also gone to look at a couple of their crews doing installation work, and it looked good. The sales process was low pressure, very well-explained, and very straightforward. No questions were unanswered. We were very comfortable with the sales experience. The installation process was two days once they got everything lined up as far as permits. It was then another week to 10 days before we got the certificate to turn the system on and start using it after they had installed it.

The entire SunPower team was professional, competent, and responsive at every step of the way. From the initial proposal put together by Mike **, to the application and permitting process (which Emma ** helped us navigate), to the site survey, installation, and inspection (coordinated by Danielle **), we were very impressed at how quickly everything moved along and how friendly and responsive the entire team was. My concerns on the installed system were addressed quickly and professionally by the installation crew (led by Darrell) prior to the permit inspection, and the entire system was online/producing power over a month before we expected!
The system has operated going on 9 months now, and the performance has exceeded what was presented in the initial proposal. We love how the array blends into the house aesthetics, and how the panel and conduit were installed in an unobtrusive spot right next to the main breaker panel. We have been asked by multiple neighbors about who did the work, and we happily respond "SunPower is the best!"

I have not even had the panels installed. The sub-contractors who were to replace the roof showed up and told me they were only replacing a part of the 30 year old roof that would hold the solar panels. This was never discussed and now that I have re-read the contract and contacted Rob at SunPower to correct the problem, it has been more than a week since I have not gotten a response. After reading the other dismal reviews about customer service, I now see this should have been expected.

We worked with a young lady named Sarah and she was fantastic. She was the best at presenting the information and explaining the options. SunPower had the best warranty too. Everything from sales to installation to maintenance was the deciding factor for us to go with the company even though it costs $10,000 more. Everything was in-house in one company.
SunPower has fantastic panels. We were very pleased with both the quality and the production. The panels were installed on the south-facing side of our roof in July last year. But we we were undersized a little bit and we should have at least four to five panels on the west-facing aspect of our roof because we are slightly oriented where our south is to the southeast, so we lose anything from about five o'clock on. In the summertime in South Texas, we get sunlight until 9 pm and we are losing almost all of that. All in all, we recommended SunPower to our friends and they had them installed. the only thing was we tried to work with the affiliate program or the referral program but nothing ever came of that. We never even got an acknowledgment that we had made two referrals.

I went by the SunPower store in Rocklin six months ago to inquire about batteries and they said there are two different types. Everybody was very professional, polite and friendly. SunPower has a good group of people that they rely on. The installation crew was respectful of the property and they also cleaned up after themselves so it's like they were never here. Just a bit is working. Going solar hasn't caught up to me yet because with the PG&E Electric out here and how everything has to play catch up. But, I know the system is working because I have the app and I get to see it. I'm producing and sending electricity back to the grid which is nice. I just don't see it in the bill yet.

California Premier was great to work with. They completed the job in a matter of a few weeks. They get their product from SunPower, they sold it to us and then offered a final walkthrough that explains how the system works. You really need to understand how the system works. I was looking at solar and I asked a friend. He said he got SunPower and referred me to the seller, Dean, who set up an appointment with me fast. While other solar people were there for an hour or so, Dean didn't drag it. He was there for 20 minutes and was in and out. He explained everything really quick, how the panels work, what I'm going to get in them, and all the warranties. What really sold me was the price. He mentioned something about the battery losing its power at 0.2% every year and that also helped me out. It was a good, fast, easy process. When we set up a profile, we set up all of our information, including the bank and the credit. Those were simple.
We were out-of-town when they installed the panels on Monday and Tuesday. We left Sunday, came back Wednesday and it was already set, which was fast. I liked how SunPower gives their customers a signing bonus. That was nice. The app is something that’s also useful and I like the work of it, how it's very modern, and it isn't something that was done in a day. I can feel and sense that they took time with it. However, it was mainly the price that was very good and the solar panels and how they looked.

I procrastinated for years before deciding to go solar. I researched a lot of companies before deciding on Sun Power. I choose Sun Power because they were the oldest company in the area, used all of their own parts and products, and did not use contractors. The installation was very smooth, had a few issues getting connected, which was a good sign in the end, because I had a chance to see how Sun Power and the techs would respond to issues, if I had any in the future. I got a quote from another company and they said that we had to wait for the state of Illinois to pass legislation in order for me to get a $6500 credit. But then Legacy Solar said they were going to take that right off the cost of my project. They also sell their solar cells as being a little bit more durable with the way they were manufactured. From the day they came out and got on the roof and to when it was solved, it was excellent. All those people were great. I'm really happy to look up on my roof and see the solar panels there and know that I'm doing what I can to try to help with climate change and the environment plus using clean energy.

They have the worst customer service I ever seen, my inverter stopped working more than 3 months ago for second time and every other week I call and they just running me around and no answer for when they will fix it, tried to talk to supervisor. After long holding they said, "He will call you" which never happened. They use to be a good company but not anymore, save your time and money. Stay away from Sunpower.

SunPower didn't pressure us like Trinity did and when the rep came out, he gave us our options and price ranges. He told us to look it over, gave us his number and to take as long as we needed. He also said to give him a call if we had any questions. SunPower kept me up to date on everything. Anytime I ever had a problem with connecting online with it, I would call and they would talk me through everything. I never had a problem. They were always there whenever I called. They would call back within an hour and would not make you wait long. It’s a good company.

The first rep that I worked with ended up quitting but he did a good job while he was there. The guy who picked me up is actually the same guy who was the rep from the guy across the street. He was very good. The guy who picked me up was very good. I'm an immediate satisfaction kind of guy and you have to experience going solar a year long because of the different seasons, the different amounts of sun and the different amounts of usage. So, I'm being a little bit cautiously optimistic about it. But I’m satisfied so far. If it turns out that after I live with this for a while, I'm not getting the expectations, then I gotta go figure out why.

I had contract paperwork issues with SunPower. We financed it and they were redundant. We got contracts numerous times over and over and the same contract was signed. There were some staffing issues with the company that was helping us. So, the follow through was slow. I ended up talking to the vice president of the company finally because unless they were gonna answer these questions and get me the information I need, I was gonna cancel it. So, they eventually came through but it was frustrating. The installation of the panels went well and the installers were good and clean. Since I’ve had the panels, I have a lower utility bill.
SunPower should issue an alert when their system is offline or nonfunctioning. Currently, you have to login and find that your panels weren’t working after a month. Then, you figure out your last month’s worth of production. It’s on you to check in on a regular basis, which is silly. That's a software issue. They can say that they noticed nothing's been coming into them the last three days and that I should check to see if there's a Wi-Fi issue or if my panels are off. Also, I've read reviews and I had this happen to me once, where people were offline for a month and ended up with a $1,000 electrical bill. Nobody had any clue and more people aren’t. It's not a normal thing for people to log on all the time to their system and double check to make sure it's working.
I’ve noticed that the management of my account didn't have much personalization. I wasn't able to give it a name. I have two systems and they were both assigned literally identical names and I don't know which one’s which. I couldn't go back and say I want this one called Smith and the other one called John. Normally in an account, you can assign an account name, so you can identify what you're looking at in a way that makes sense to you. In the end, I ended up contacting the company who installed and they ended up contacting software engineers over at SunPower. They finally got my name changed. I’m satisfied with SunPower but I told them that if they’re selling anything new, I don’t need that.

I got the little app on my phone that lets me see what power is being generated. The only thing that I would suggest is that there should be some type of follow-up confirming that the system is working and if I have the right number of panels. There's been zero of that. Even just a 10-minute phone call to say, “Hey, we logged on. We’re monitoring the system,” or, "This is where we're at on it," that would go a long way. When making an investment like this, for the average Joe, it's hard to tell if everything is working the way it is supposed to be. Other than that, I'm satisfied with everything. SunPower's panels are one of the superior ones out there.

My next-door neighbor had SunPower installed on their house. Then when we decided to go solar, we started researching and talked to them and drove around neighborhoods looking at different installations. We liked the work they did. Their sales rep was very thorough. We really enjoyed talking with him. He gave us a lot of good information.
Having had our solar panels installed, we don't have a PG&E bill anymore. We're just paying for our payments on the solar system, which is a lot cheaper than we were paying on a regular electrical. When we started getting into this, and then they had to replace an electrical panel and do some other issues, and we had our house reroute at the same time too, which didn't really involved them much, but they were well organized and we liked the subcontractors they used for doing the electrical. The guys came back to plaster and paint where they had put in the new electrical, tried to blend in to 30-year-old paint, and they did an amazing job. They were all courteous. SunPower and the subcontractors who did the other parts were all really easy to work with. The installation looks so natural on an older home. It looks like it was built with it. The electrical is very clean. It was a really good install and I'm very happy with it.

I went solar on June the 25th, and I've still got two bills from PG&E coming in while my solar is also being deducted. PG&E might be running late. So, that puts me in a bind. I have to pay two bills now. Instead of paying the 148 that I normally pay, I'm paying another $350 on top of that. That's been going on for two months now. I've taken the bills over to the person that installed my solar. They said they're working on it, but that does not do me any good because I just sent out another check to PG&E last night. I don't know why we have a lag time and I don't know if PG&E is ever going to reimburse me or who's going to reimburse. I might lose like $700 right there.
The SunPower salesman who came here was a very nice guy. He was not pushy at all. He's an excellent salesman. He really laid out all the plan to me, and I decided to go ahead and go with the lease. The installers were very professional, did a great job on my roof and cleaned up really well. I recommended SunPower to my neighbor and to three other people and they've all signed up.

We already had two companies come out and when we had Kathy from SunPower, she was the least pushy and the most informative of the bunch. She took the time to go through everything and explained how the system works and what was gonna happen. The only beef I had was they were really dirty in trying to get the solar panels installed. The panels were super dirty by the time they got turned on and I tried to get people out here to clean them but because of the pandemic, they don't have any labor. I had to buy some stuff and I had to do it myself. I'm 70 so that was a big task for me to go out and do it but that improved our production. It was like 8 something and it went to 10 something. It was a big difference having them cleaned. It's producing well and the app works very well.

I had some issues with the people that installed the panels. It took them forever to get out here and finish the installation. They're supposed to patch the driveway with concrete. The cut in the driveway was crooked, so I told them I wanted it straight and I wanted it to look decent. I called them three or four times and it took two months before they finally came out and patched it. But other than that, I don't have any issues with their panels or any of SunPower's equipment.

A SunPower sales rep came out and showed us all the solar stuff. I had looked at four or five other companies and I was most impressed with the product that SunPower had that the gentleman showed in the in-house presentation. So far, I'm happy. It's pretty cool to be able to look on the website and I love the smartphone app.

One time, I was confused about matching up the output of the system with what the local utility was showing. But I'm at peace with that now and that was with some help from the reps of Sunpower. I like the access to the internet, the information on the production and I look at that fairly regularly. There's one area of disappointment and it is not a problem with SunPower. But the local utility limits the capacity of my solar power to match my electric use for the year. I wish they wouldn't limit that because I would probably put more panels on.

The installers put too many panels up and had taken them down, and did some damage to my roof. So the installation wasn't that great. But the product itself is really good. I like the fact that my electric bill has been zero for the past three months.

My experience with Renova has been fantastic, from the start till the installation till the operation. The installers were professional. They came when they were supposed to. They did exactly what they said they were supposed to, and they followed up. I'm completely satisfied.
