I use a Macy's return label on the wrong package. The package was to be return back to Ralph Lauren Polo. It's been 4 week. And they are giving me the runaround saying that they're going to get in touch with the warehouse. And it would take 48 hour and I would get a email about return the package. Still haven't heard from them. I have been call them every day, still no return package!!!

I purchased a dress at the Macy's, Castleton Mall, Indianapolis, Indiana, to be shipped to my home. It was not received prior to my trip. Therefore, I no longer had a use for it and took the "unopened" package to the store for return. The clerk opened the sealed packaging (Note: double-sealed bags; the shipping package and another sealed plastic bag inside). She said she could not accept it because it had been worn. She called her boss to the counter. She also tried to say it looked dirty. As I explained the packages were sealed, just opened by the clerk, and tags were on. If they were worn, it was not by me. It was shipped to me that way. The shipping package shows it was shipped from Macy's Tuttle Crossing in Dublin, OH.
I got my refund, but after that experience with extremely rude customer service, I will no longer be shopping at Macy's. I should have also been refunded the shipping cost ($10.95). If it were so dirty that they didn't want to take it back; why would I as a customer have wanted it. The entire transaction should have been null and voided.

I received bathing suits as a gift. Unfortunately they do not fit because I'm pregnant so I wanted to exchange them for something else. By the time I received them and got to the store to return them it was 36 days past the purchase date so I am now stuck with items I can not use and my friend wasted over $150.

I attempted to purchase 2 items from Macy's. I paid for the items using my Discover card. The purchase was approved by Discover but cancelled by Macy's as I had never had a purchase sent to that address. I called Discover. They had no idea why Macy's did that. How does Macy's stay in business? As more and more sales move to online, they are missing the boat. BTW. I was not buying the Hope Diamond. My purchases, together were less than $100. Amazon, here I come.

I ordered a new sectional couch from Macy's. Their delivery people had no regard for my walls. They plowed right through my entrance with no consideration for my walls, ceiling lamp, etc....I asked them to please slow down, but they told me they had other deliveries and if I had damages, to make a claim. They completely dented my walls and could not care less. I have never seen anything like this before. It was as if they were frustrated with their job and doing it on purpose. They were very aggressive individuals and once they dropped off the couch, I could not wait for them to leave.
I called Macy's to claim my damages. They told me it was an entire procedure to make a claim or that I could just settle for $200. Given that this was my second home in Miami, I settled for the $200, because I could not invest the time to meet inspectors and go through all the trouble, even though my damages ended it up being $800. I signed their release form and was promised the $200 check in the mail within 30 days. Bottom line, 1 year later I still have not been paid. I wrote them 3 times and received no answer. I called them 8 times, and after waiting and spending an hour with someone off shore each time, they promised again and again and again that they would escalate the matter and send my check.
On one occasion, they said there seems to be a problem with the delivery of the check, so they will exceptionally reimburse my credit card the $200 within 30 days. This never happened and when I called back to understand why my credit card was not reimbursed as promised, they told me that this was not their procedure. I asked them, then why did their customer service ask for my credit card information and promised I would be reimbursed. They had no answers. Ironically 2 months later my credit was defrauded. I would not set foot in a Macy's stores again or order anything online from them.

Macy's has come up with a new type of bait and switch and because of their business practices I will never shop in Macy's again. Today I went into the Men’s Department to buy two pair of Haggard pants. The pants are always $44.95. I always use my Macy's credit card because the company sends me monthly coupons that are good for all products, “even products on sale.”
When I got to the register I was told none of the coupons could work. They are valid until August 13, but not valid today. I expected at least 30 percent off. I decided not to buy the pants. This was the second time the store refused my coupons. I told the clerk I didn’t want the pants. After I left the store I received a noticed I charged $96.28 on my card. I went back to the store and found a manager. She told me Macy's doesn’t honor the coupons because the pants were on “Special.” That’s right. They are always $44.95, but they place a red sign over the displays that says Special. Bait and Switch. The bait, the coupon. The switch, special instead of sale. They had the charge removed, cancelled my credit card and will never shop in Macy's again. I was a gold credit card customer and that’s how I was treated. I recommend you beware of this Macy's practice and boycott the stores.

I bought my first designer purse end of August 2022. Around April 2023 the handles had split and were breaking. I reached out to Macy’s to see if there was anything that could be done since it had been a while since I purchased the purse. They were actually very nice and accommodating. They had me bring the purse back and gave me a full refund. I purchased another purse using the refund. I was quite impressed they did the refund considering I was over the 90-day return marker. Big round of applause for Macy’s. Pleasantly surprised.

First and foremost, I believe that Macy's is the best department store I've ever been to in all my years of shopping! I am an avid and loyal customer for 25 years now and always felt that they were just perfect! But recently, Macy's has changed their return policy to a strict 30-day return, which is a great disappointment to me because there are times where time slips me by and it may be a little past 30 days. I have recently encountered, a problem with an online return. I spoke to a representative within the 30 days who told me that a refund would be issued, and that there was no need to return the blouse I purchased because it was damaged. So I waited and waited for the refund, but nothing ever happened. I called and explained everything to the new representative who found no record of my previous conversation, which completely amazed me!
I put in a dispute and Macy's, to my surprise, denied my claim for a silly little $39 because they said it was past the 30 days (and it was NOT). Of course, I will continue to shop at Macy's because it is my favorite store, but I am very unhappy with what happened with my return and all because of its new 30 day return policy. It really was a big disappointment to me because I spend up to $800 a month and yet they gave me such a problem for a silly $39 - just very unhappy about this new return policy!

I have been a Macy's cardholder for many years. Every other month they send coupons by mail. The coupons state it can be used for sale and clearance items! I have not been able to use not one coupon in the last six years. It is so ridiculous. Why do they waste time sending coupons if they cannot be used for anything. I asked the cashier to pick any item that I can use a coupon toward. We scanned 5 different items and I could not use the coupon for any of them! Macy's coupons are a scam!!!! I must say that I was very shocked, in a good way about the experience I had yesterday at Macy’s. On August 30, 2022. I bought my first designer purse. Over the past couple of months the handles have started splitting open and I thought that a designer purse would hold up better than that. I figured, since it had been close to a year, that Macy’s probably wouldn’t be able to help me, but I called to see. They actually told me to bring in my receipt and the purse, and they would see what they could do.
Once I arrived at the store, the lady told me she would give me full credit for the purse on a gift card, and I could go get another purse and just pay any difference. I was able to find me a better quality purse, and after they refunded my money on the old purse, I only ended up spending $35 out of pocket. I was quite impressed that they took the purse back since it had been almost a year. The customer service lady said that purse should not have done that so I figure that’s probably why they went ahead and did the exchange. This is more than what most stores will do for you. Way to go Macy’s.

My friend thanked me for the two gift cards. I immediately called customer service and they said that they would look into it. Today I received a letter that I am responsible for the 2 cards since they were used. They also Stated that if I didn't pay immediately, they would report me to the credit bureaus.

I had two claims, one pair of shorts out of 15 items that didn’t arrive and one pair out of two of tennis shoes for my two grandsons. I ordered 2, received one with no credit. I called and was told it didn’t come because it was out of stock. This was from deliveries occurring in a one year period. I was told not to keep inquiring. When I sent a list of my deliveries and returns with transaction numbers which in fact are from my statements they said I can no longer receive deliveries. When I asked for information about what they were referring to. I was told not to waste my time. I’ve had an account for 30 years with no issues. My wife purchased a very expensive countertop ice maker from Macy's online for my birthday (GE Opal 2.0 Nugget Ice Maker with Side Tank). The unit arrived about a week later and was defective. Customer service clearly had communications issues due to a language barrier and initially had the unit set up to be replaced. After days and days of waiting for tracking information to arrive I called customer service back only to be told that the unit first had to be shipped back before a replacement would be processed. A return shipping label was sent, the unti was re-packaged and picked up by UPS.
Once again days and days went by with no infomation on the replacement unit (after confirmation of arriving to the return depot). Another call to customer service was placed only to find out that they would not ship out a new unit due to product unavailability and to expect a refund after 7 business days. At NO point was the Macy's customer service group proactive in either simply emailing us or calling us regarding ANY of the the issues we experienced over multiple weeks trying to get this resolved. At this point we have not received a refund... A couple of suggestions for Macy's:
1) Have customer service staff that is fluid in English and has a firm understanding of the proper procedures for product replacement.2) Take ownership of the customer experience instead of bogging everything down with policies and procedures.
3) Take initiative in communicating to the people that are taking the time to shop on the Macy's website instead of making the customer feel like an afterthought.
The irony of the situation is they are still selling the same exact model, only in black instead of stainless steel. We would have been happy to accept that as an option.

This was almost 5 years ago and I have not paid one thing late since that time but I was denied an increase of $200! I have a GREAT job, am almost debt free and have credit with many other departments stores with much larger limits. I cannot believe that this company treats their customers so badly. I spent all morning ordering items and then called and spoke to three different people only to hear the same thing, NO, you can't have an increase from $100 to $300 even though you ALWAYS pay your bills. Macy's charged my debit card approximately $1000 on multiple transactions I did not authorize. If you change an online order for any reason (they had my incorrect shipping address) they can charge your bank account repeatedly. They were going to ship my order to the wrong address, I had to change it. As soon as you “authorize” them to make a change, they take that “authorization” code and use it to put holds on your bank account, in my case for 3 transactions I never did, and will not release the funds until you dispute it through your bank. Apparently after your bank files a dispute, Macy's can still hold on to your money for an additional 7 business days.

Would be GREAT to see the Sr Mgrs tell Wall Street, '**-You' we'll report earnings ONCE a year, we're Macy's... but.... I went into the St Pete, FL Macy's to buy men's jeans, 10 days before Thanksgiving, Nov 14.. NEARLY no Associates to help. The well meaning poorly trained (**) women at the cash registers were struggling with what I later learned are 30-YO cash registers!... One finally was able to locate my jeans in a store 20 miles away. I agreed to pay the $10-15 to have them sent to my home... (BTW, the Holiday displays in the store were old and horrible!.. Still dust and particles left from past 'decor' on the walls on either side of the escalators...
OK I understand supply chain issues, less inventory and higher shipping costs so profits squeezed... (see comment later below #).. One hour earlier I used my Visa card @ 2 other stores. THREE Macy's cash registers didn't accept my card. Finally an Ass't (?) Store Mgr was called. On a FOURTH cash register she entered in all my order info, SKU, address, and card # manually. She showed me the screen before hitting enter. All was correct... Dec 3, TWENTY days later, that wk I received an email update that my order was shipped from a store in NEW JERSEY!! On Sat Dec they'd not arrived at my home so I went into the store... After another 30+ minutes dealing with a 'mature' woman, P/T Holiday I'm sure who told me the cash registers are ancient.... she discovered a pair, my size IN the St Pete store....
After a 15 mins wait to get a Mgr to approve my 'return' I was given the jeans... Around Dec 3 my credit card statement showed a credit for a cancelled order... NEXT=. while I was waiting for the Store Mgr, I looked at the disorganized, limited, chocolates display. I noticed boxes of Frango Mints, a family tradition of my since the 1960s. A 1 pound was selling for $30!.. I KNOW 8 yrs or so ago they sold for around $8... Cocoa has not increased 375% in 8 years.... These mints, the dismal displays, ancient registers, poorly trained yet well meaning Associates (#. ) smacks to me that Sr Manager is OUT OF TOUCH!... and likely tooooo spoiled by their executive salaries and stock options...
As much as I'd love the holiday tradition of Franco Mins (gosh.... been 20 yrs since I tasted its Frango Mint liqueur.... several traditions are GONE... Guess I'll drive the 20 miles to Nordstrom's or Neiman Marcus in Tampa where there's still good customer service.... SAD that Macy's has FALLEN... So much for 'quality for a premier New York retailer... I hope the Macy's board takes drastic actions, close more stores AND reduce senior management's salary say 30%+ until the store gets it act together... G D in St Petersburg, FL

Only to get a rep who advised they had not replaced my order and that unless I used a different credit card I could not replace the order on the phone with him. At this point, I'm over Macy's poor customer service and I did not want to take my frustrations out on that rep as he was the one who created the problem nor was he part of the charade I had to endure..Needless to say, I will not shop with them again until they bring their customer service back to the USA.

I applied online last week and completed several assessments. Within the same day I submitted everything, I received a phone call from a female recruiter that spoke broken English, and I could barely understand what she was conveying. She gave details about the job that included a start date of January 9, 2023, and being required to go into the store twice monthly, for trainings and meetings. Mind you, this is supposed to be a Remote position. So the need to go into a busy mall/store just to conduct trainings and meetings, vs having it online via an app like Microsoft Teams, makes absolutely no sense! I personally believe they're one of those companies that wants to establish a certain amount of control over remote employees by forcing them to come into the office, and trying to create a fake "Family" environment.
When this broken English speaking female recruiter asked me if I would be okay with this, I was honest in telling her that I do not have transportation at this time. She immediately took this and ran with it, and declared me as a candidate Macy's wouldn't be able to "move forward" with. If she'd allowed me the opportunity to explain that I did have someone to transport me there, maybe the situation would've turned out differently. After I sat down and thought about the call, I humbled myself enough to call back and explain my circumstances, and ask for another chance to be considered for the position. This same female was very cold, and nonchalant. Instead of continuing the phone interview from where she left off, she just said she'd make note that I did have someone to transport me to the store, and the hiring manager would be making the final decision.
Well, early this morning, I received a nice little rejection email from Macy's, telling me they will be "moving forward" with another candidate. Honestly, I feel as if this ignorant foreign female closed my application, and marked me as ineligible for the position so I wouldn't be considered at all! The fact that Macy's hires Non-American individuals with language barriers to recruit for them, tells me everything I need to know about them as an organization. Now, I feel blessed that I didn't get the job. They've also lost a customer....

Even worse, I chatted online with a Customer Representative and I was offered an option of reshipment. However, a day later I receive an email stating that there was a proof of delivery (to someone with a different name other than mine), and due to this reason Macy's would not be able to reship and/or refund my order. Wow. I hadn't been to Macy's since before the pandemic. Went to buy a pair of jeans. The Women's department was a wreck. Racks crammed with utterly disorganized merchandise -- not organized by brand, style or size (though strangely the men's department was much more organized). Staff only at checkout where there were long lines even on a relatively not-busy day. Only one dressing room open and it looked like a teenager's closet. They had a 'sale' going on Frangos so I bought a box. When I opened it the Frangos were all spoiled (last year's stock? and/or stored near heat? I returned them). I used to think of Macy's as a place where one could get quality merchandise and decent service (I will say what little staff there was were friendly), but now even Target does it better. I won't be back.

Not only did they not take it back but they charged another $ 2 for another false "late payment".
To wrap this up, I had a "new contract" sent home to me by them, saying that they had raised the late fee payments and here is the interesting part: they will charge a up to $ 41 for returns. Can you believe this? I am closing this God damn card immediately tomorrow and I am never going to see Macy's Store again. Stay away from these scammers. I had to put one star to be able to do my complaint. But there is no star in this review. I was waiting for a delivery from Macy's. I am a loyal customer since 1998. I never had any compliant. I noticed that Macy's these last years is not the same as it was before. The customer service and the store itself does not look professional and with the high standards it used to be. But even then I was very loyal with this store. Until, I had a very bad experience, first I bought a mattress that was delivered at my house with no box spring, they left the old box spring there without me noticing until I got home. The box spring since did not match the mattress was very high and that difficulted my way to jump in and out from the bed.
Finally they scheduled the deliver for last Friday August 5, 2022. They send me a text with confirmation for the delivery, also a voice mail and also they sent me tracking of their route so I can be prepared. At 12:00 noon they said I am the next in the route. All of a sudden it was 2:30PM and they still didn't come for the delivery so I called and in customer service Lisa for scheduling answered me and she was very rude and told me that I missed my delivery and I wasn't there. I explained her that I was there the whole time waiting and nobody knocked the door and she said they don't knock the door, that they only call. I told her I received a phone call at around 1:20pm and I immediately called and they put me on hold and no one answered. They never called me back or sent me any text saying they are there.
Lisa assumed I was lying and treated me without any respect. She only said, "Sorry you missed the delivery. Don't have anything available until next August 16, 2022." I asked her to speak with a manager and she refused to transfer me in the beginning saying that it will take too long, I asked her that I need my box spring since I already throw away the old box spring because the delivery was that day. She said even though I speak with the manager she will have to be the one to reschedule and I will lose my time since I was not there for the delivery, I told her to trust me that I was there, she said the only date she has is August 16, 2022, I told her I will wait in line for the manager.
Finally after 30 min James j the manager supposedly because later he said it was a supervisor not a manager, told me and treated me the same way as a liar, he said he has pictures that the drivers were there and I missed the delivery, then I asked him, "Please can you show me the picture of the front door that you have on file that proves that they went there?" He said he can not do that, then I asked him, "How does the front door looks? Can you describe it," and right there he noticed the drivers were not in the right address!!! That I was not lying!
The door they had was a white door with a stainless steel bar with a different knob. My door is brown black with glass panels and regular door handle. I was very upset because now the situation changed and tried to help me but he never follow up with the promised to deliver the mattress on Saturday or Tuesday. It was Friday at 2:30PM. They never attempt to come back and do the delivery.
I had to sleep in the mattress with no box spring because I threw away the old box spring since my delivery was confirmed. I told him to help me because the wooden rails can not hold too well the mattress, but he never contacted me again. On Sunday the wooden rails broke and I had to sleep since Friday in an uncomfortable and no steady mattress, my mattress that I bought in Macy's also was dented already for the lack of support. On Monday Jane called me and let me know she will do her best, I told her about my bed broken and the uncomfortable situation, then nobody called me again.
Today at 11:32AM someone from Macy's called me saying that the drivers are there in front of my door~NOBODY- let me know the day before or send me any text. I was at work. I had to rush and called my daughter to help me to open the door, as per my daughter the drivers were very rude and they didn't let her to take pictures of the broken frame before they placed the box spring. I called customer service very upset for again not taking care of me and let me know in advanced that they were coming to do the delivery today so I can arrange with work and present for the delivery.
Pat called me from customer service and said she called me today around 9:15AM to let me know they will be there today, really? I was already at work at that time and honestly I didn't hear the phone call and anyway I would not have time enough to ask permission at work or run to my house....I am very disappointed for MACY'S. I have a back pain for all these days I slept in that mattress with no box spring on top of broken wooden rails that I have to fix myself with metal bars so I won't be sleeping in the floor. I need someone serious to contact me as soon possible,

Worse by ignoring addressing concern, other than refusing to explain.
After weeks and several 10s of hours of run around by Macy’s, Macy’s states it will take a few billing cycles to get reimbursed what any other .com would immediately address. (or) After two months, I followed-up: After repeat of hours of run-arounds, holds, and transfers, Macy’s stated it would not reimburse as promised. I asked to have escalated to someone who cares or would address; however, after hours of long holds, run-arounds, and multi transfers Macy’s again puts call on hold for over an hour (possibly hanging up, since no return/follow-up call). Macy’s has to have the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered. I bought a ruby ring, an opal ring, an emerald ring, and sapphire earrings from them all within the last two months. I went in to have the ruby ring resized to a 9. If there’s a potential problem resizing a ring, a reputable jeweler would say something to the client, not just resize the ring.
When I picked the ring up from the resizing, it was no longer curved around my finger, but had a rectangular shape. The edges of the prongs are now very sharp, and dig into my fingers. When I called customer service, I was told that the fine print on the website said that this ring was not resizable. What it actually says is, “custom ring sizing is not available for this item.” I had it resized at Macy’s. Shouldn’t they have known this? Also, this language doesn’t say that the ring cannot be resized.
To expect me to go back and read the description on the website because I want to have it resized with absolutely no accountability from Macy’s is ridiculous. I have one of their NoWorry plans on both the emerald ring and the opal ring. I didn’t have one for the Ruby ring which makes Macy’s think that they can just treat you like dirt. In other words, if I had the protection plan, they would’ve been cognizant of the fact that the ring shouldn’t be resized and told me that?
I asked the woman if maybe she could at least give me a discount on a different ring, because this ring is ruined and unwearable. Shouldn’t their jeweler know that if they resize a ring that it won’t be wearable, so why in the world do they do it anyway? There’s really no excuse for being treated this way by Macy’s, especially after all of the money that I’ve spent there in the last two months.
Of course, the Macy’s corporate number is disconnected. When I asked to speak to the woman’s supervisor, she told me that she was her own supervisor. I called back later to see if maybe I could speak to a reasonable person, but I got the same woman. She absolutely relished telling me that I was out of luck and she could care less. I’m sorry that I spent a penny here.

It's not only convenient, especially during the uncertainty of the pandemic going on, but it's the lack of customer service and return policy. I well understand, business need a return policy to stay in business alone. However, during these times, and during the holiday gift season, the return policy should be less strict and excellent customer service skills should be a priority.
My husband was given a gift for Christmas. Receipt can't be found. We simply wanted to do an even exchange for a size up and Macy's refused. They'd return it for a ridiculously low price, and resell me the new size at full price. An almost 40 dollar difference! A size up is ALL we wanted. We didn't have a Macy's near us. We drive 45 min to get to one to exchange the item. Total waste of time. I will never, ever do business with Macy's.

I ordered 3 online Christmas gift cards totaling $300. I got an email later in the day that the order had been canceled and I was asked to call the "Consumer protection team," which I did. In a series of phone conversations with foreign-accented, barely understandable individuals, I could never get a clear understanding of why the order was canceled. My PayPal account I used to pay for the order had a balance of over $27,000. I suspect the emails and calls might have been fraud spoofing. I've canceled my account with Macy's and do not intend to order from them again. Beware.

So for the last few years, Macy's has been trying a marketing ploy much like that of Kohl's...except Kohl's actually WORKS! I've been a loyal Macy's shopper for years and this year I did a lot of my Christmas shopping there. I earned some Macy's Money and when I went back to buy additional gifts I tried to use the money I earned to put towards my order. I kept receiving error after error, so I called Customer Service. I thought all was well when she put my order through but NOPE, she had issues too and told me that I was unable to use the rewards but she didn't know why!
The SAME THING happened to me last year and I let it go! Not this time. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said that my wait would be anywhere between 30 - 60 minutes. Since it was past 1am, I told her I'd call back later in the morning but I was tired of Macy's mess! I wasn't lying because I know they aren't JUST doing this to me! I wonder how many more people they are doing this to! Either offer the promotion or don't but don't lie to me and pull me in for more shopping and don't honor your own coupon! That makes me not trust you! Honor your word, just like I do when I present my payment!

This was the first holiday in which I ordered as many clothes, shoes and gift items as I did from Macy's. >20 items. Very nice surprise that all the orders shipped accurately (sizes, colors, etc) except 1, which Macy's rectified in just 1 day after my call to customer service. Impressive that this store can handle the rush so accurately. Moreover, Macy's allowed me an exchange 1 day past deadline (since timing was so close). On clothing return to the store was fast and painless. Finally, my Godiva chocolate gifts came in a styrofoam box with a cooler pack, and shipping was free due to the amount! No boxes broken nor damaged.
In contrast, my one bedsheet set purchase from Kohls was incorrectly delivered twice. Overstock charged me a $20 restocking charge for one return. And my email question to customer service at a local orange producer still hasn't been answered after one week. Lesson learned. Future holidays will definitely mean shopping at Macys.com first!

Do not place an online order with Macy's! They tell you something is in stock, claim that they have shipped the order so they can charge your credit card but they don't actually ship it. They then sit on your money for an indefinite period before they return it to you. I am sympathetic to Covid related delays and shortages but why do they debit your credit card before they ship? If they don't have stock just say so and don't take my money!

Macy's in store shopping is fine and their online ordering process is acceptable, however if there is ever a problem with an order, you are in big trouble. Their customer service representatives are very poorly trained and seemingly have no interest in solving a problem. I ordered an item on October 16, and am still trying to get it shipped. I have been given stories included expedited shipping only to find that the order has not yet shipped. I asked to replace the shipment and was refunded instead, after being told to wait a few days for someone to send me an email.
I had to speak with a supervisor, which was extremely time consuming and difficult, because after finally convincing the agent that I really did need to speak to a supervisor, I was put on hold for an inordinate amount of time before actually speaking to one. By the time the order was actually placed, and I am hoping that it was actually placed, because I have not received it yet, two of the three items that I ordered were sold out. If I receive the order within the next 5-6 business days, as promised, I will have waited one month to receive this order.

As a result I no longer even try to read the find print on the back of the discount coupons. Don't get me wrong - I shop Macys, I just don't bother trying to utilize coupons issued. Therefore if it's a reasonable price or on sale for a great price I purchase -- but if not, I simply don't. So Macy's having a "VIP" sale, where they are offering some items up to extra 30% off. Because I wanted to use my credit card points, I purchased two digital gift cards through my credit card company (AMEX), one $25 and one $50 card. When I went to go to place an order, it said my card could not be authorized (I had to pay ~$5 for tax on top of the amount covered by the gift cards, so I entered my credit card). I thought it was strange, and tried three other of my cards: none worked. It was around 2am, so I thought maybe they are having technical issues, and so I decided to try the next morning -- when I entered my gift cards again, my $50 gift card apparently now had a $0 balance and could not be used(!!).
I called the gift card department and explained the situation, and when they checked the gift card number, it said an order went through. That was not true, since I did not get any confirmation email, and my other $25 gift card was still active and in full balance. So what they had to do was cancel the supposed order, and let the amount refund back to the card. I was told I should check in 7-10 minutes for it to go into effect. I actually waited an hour to try again, and it did not work, so I called the gift card department again. This time, the agent goes, "What? it takes at least 24 hours, I don't know why they told you that." So, I said ok, fine, I'll try tomorrow, and I also asked how long the sale goes until, since I want to take advantage of it and that's the reason why I got these gift cards in the first place. I was told probably until the 3rd/4th of April, so I was relieved.
One day later, I get back on macys.com. The item that I wanted to purchase is now nowhere to be seen (probably sold out), AND my $50 gift card still had zero balance. I call again, and the agent tells me it takes 5 BUSINESS DAYS!!! Can you feel my frustration? All due to an online transaction error for which I am NOT responsible, I have to call customer service to straighten things out, wasting so much time with all sorts of misleading information. I asked customer rep how would I know these are special product (they weren't designer just regular brand), it doesn't say so in order confirmation, shipping confirmation or order slip that comes with product. I looked into the app and it doesn't even say there these have special return policy so needs to be returned early. Rep's answer "as a consumer you should read ALL of the product details when you make purchase."
I looked at 50 plus shoes before selecting. Macy's expects we take notes on each pair of shoe. I have made purchase from other stores and each were clear about exception products in the order slip indicating if it's final no return product or with return date. Seems like Macy's has a nice loophole to exploit. I am returning all my recent purchases. I'm done with this place. They can keep my $50 and I'll take back my $500 returning all the other stuff. I really did not need Macy's credit card, but the store clerk convinced me by telling me how great the card would be. I thought that I would give it a try. And this is the greatest thing that I have regret in my life! In 09/20, I asked to charge my credit number with the Macy's American Express for security reason, and I had paid my old account in full. But least as what I had expected, Macy's American Express charged me again of my old account amount for my new account, which means that Macy's charged me TWICE.
I called Macy's American Express and was spending literally over 2 hours speaking with a woman who sounded like Pilipino and constantly putting me on hold and spoke with somebody else, likely her supervisor. She was playing games with me -because, instead of credit the overcharge of $ 565.62 for the mistake Macy's made, she played game with and told me: "get a calculator, because you have a balance over $2000". I replied to her: "what difference does this make?! I have always paid my bill and I don't owe any credit card company any money." I clarified with her that because Macy's made the mistake and overcharged me, Macy's must correct it and stop overcharging me. She said that she would call me in a few days and give me the update. She never did what she promised.
The next month, which is 11/20, the overcharge was still on my account--in addition, there were late fee and interest charges. I called Macy's again and this time I asked to speak with a supervisor and a guy spoke with me and assured me that the overcharge has been corrected and told me not to worry about it. So I said to myself: "all right, I will give him some time to correct the mistake".
In 12/20, once again, when I received Macy's American Express statement, not only the overcharge was still there, but also, new interest and late fee charges! I called Macy's American Express again and I was told that the overcharge would be adjusted. In 01/21's billing cycle, the overcharge was still there and once again, as you can imagine--late fees and interest charge! I called again and I was told the same thing. Today, when I received my statement on 01/30/21, which I had only spent $8.04, but Macy's charges me $599.11! Of course, the same doubled and overcharge since 10/05/20 still there, along with late fee and interest.
I called again today and the guy from Macy's American Express told me that it would take two billing cycles to show the credit back to my account and he transferred me to collection department while I asked to speak to a supervisor and the woman, once again, sounds like a Pilipino, kept beating bushes and acted like she was 5 years old. I am sure anyone of you would be very angry and upset if you have been going through this kind of nightmare and mistake or purposely double and overcharged customer and potentially affect my credit score because of their mistake or intentionally overcharging me.
I have planned to close Macy's Credit card once the overcharge has been cleared and never use Macy's Credit card again or even give Macy's business again. I used to spend at least a few hundred dollars a year on Macy's. I am writing this review so that many of you guy might want to avoid Macy's so that you don't have to go through the hell and nightmare I have been going through with Macy's. There are some good credit card companies out there. I have been using Chase credit card for many years and never had any this kind of issue like with the Macy's! Today I had the worst customer service ever at Mall of America Macy's. So thing is the other day, I returned an online order for $160 in person with my ID at this store. I was told that I would get a check mailed to me. But when the mail came, it was not a check, it was a store CERTIFICATE with my friend's wife's name on it (she doesn't have any plans to spend this money at a Macy's store any time soon and I can't use it because it's non-transferable). Fyi, she and her husband are my roommates. And her order was returned by her husband at the same time as I did (we went to the store to return our orders together).
So I called customer service and after speaking with an agent, I was transferred to speak with someone who claimed to be the cosmetic department manager. She gave me a number with a statement that my case can be resolved by calling that number. So I called that number and after I explained the situation to an agent helping me, she told me to go to the store because only the store manager can solve my problem. I asked her what if I was again routed back to her. She confirmed that there would be no issue.
So today I went to the store with that friend of mine (who went to return our orders together on the other day), and guess what? Tom and Kristal claimed that they are the managers there (or pretended to be I'm not sure because Kristal said that she didn't speak with me on the phone the other day and there were only two managers there who are Tom and herself. So who was the person claimed to be the manager speaking with me on the phone?) told me that there is nothing they can do because I didn't return my order myself or I didn't give them my ID which I swear I DID.
My friend and I both swore that we came and returned our orders together, but they wouldn't believe us. And they kept going on blaming us that nothing would have happened if I returned my order in person with my ID which, again and again I told them, I DID. So I told them to look for my footage on their surveillance system on that day (the day and time I went to their store is on my receipt) and they said it was 1 month ago and the video would be deleted already (which I don't think they're being honest). So they kept going on blaming us again and again for the issue.
The FUNNY part is that my friend's wife only ordered ONE ORDER but now she got two refunds (one deposited directly to Macy's credit card and another one with a store certificate - this was supposed to be my refund). So we asked them to look up on that ghost order she received her certificate for and they couldn't find that order on their system. And the reason given to us was that once orders were returned, they couldn't be looked up. (Is this the way Macy's system works or are they just trying to lure us away? Well, I'm a software engineer working for a big e-commerce system and from my experience, what they said was not true, They're just trying to not try to solve the problem).
They kept going on lying and lying and blaming us. They claimed their system is bug-free (Oh well, no system is bug-free) and it's our fault to not return orders in person which AGAIN and AGAIN I had to tell them like a million times that I DID return my order in person with my ID. So instead of trying to see why this is happening, for an hour, they kept repeating that we didn't return our others in person and there's nothing they can do. Well if your managing job is all about blaming your store's faults on your customers and not even try to listen to them then oh well I have nothing to say.
At the end, at least a staff suggested an idea, which previously claimed to be impossible by these two managers, was then agreed by. The idea is I have to take my friend's wife with me to the store when I want to buy something in order to use that store certificate. I guess they just didn't want to help an asian customer like me. And to be honest, both my friend and I felt the same way, being discriminated.
Well I was open to any ideas that would work but was really mad because of the way their managers treated us, their customers. Stop blaming your faults on your customers and help them out with ideas/solutions. Well, after I successfully use that store certificate. I will never ever buy anything from Macy's ever again. Such a bad customer service you have Macy's.

I said that no-one ever told me that and asked why I hadn't received ANY communication from them. I was only made aware of this because I called them. The person on the phone had no sympathy for my call and was unable to help any further.
I called the sales person, who did gave sympathy because evidently actual delivery of furniture is a chronic issue for her. She contacted customer service on my behalf and when she called me back relayed that living room set had in fact NOT been received in their warehouse. That the set was broken down by Macy's to be shipped in 3 separate deliveries, approx 2 weeks apart from one another with estimated dates going out to February 9th. Ottoman first, love seat, and sofa last. Dates were best estimates and unconfirmed.
There is evidently no option to escalate, you can either accept the situation or cancel. Given it was supposed to be a Christmas gift and it's gone on this long, it's difficult to back out - which I think maybe what macy's counts on. This is bait and switch - it's not right. I ordered a pair of 1/2 ct. diamond and white gold earrings for my wife's Christmas and anniversary present on 12/6/2020. The tracking showed that the parcel had finally arrived 12/16. When I went out to our neighborhood post office lockers, our courier was there and told me that she had stamped a parcel that looked empty and had been tampered with as 'delivered without contents.'
First off, why in the heck would Macy's send a pair of $1300.00 genuine, diamond earrings via UPS/USPS cheap mail??? I immediately called Macy's customer service to report what happened. I also took pictures of the box and documented everything. The first C.S. agent (Connie...lol) was hard to understand through her fast talking with heavy Indian dialect, but nonetheless was nice and apologized to me while stating that they would ship out a new order via expedited shipping within 24 hours so that my wife's present would be here before Christmas and that I would receive an email confirming this with tracking information. She also stated that it had been approved via her supervisor and that I didn't need to do anything further as far as filing any claim forms or send pictures or anything.
I waited 24 hours and nothing. So I called again and was on hold for another excruciating amount of time until I finally was connected with C.S. agent #2 (Rose.) Rose was almost impossible to understand and spoke even faster than Connie. When I asked if I could be transferred to someone who spoke better English, I was given the run-around and brushed off. Not once but at least five times. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she said she did not have a supervisor. I finally got my message across to her and she basically said that Connie did not process the claim correctly and that she would do it again for me, and that a new item would be shipped out within 24 hours, email..etc.... same crap. Then when I asked to be transferred to the survey she hung up on me. That call took an hour and 20 minutes.
Waited until Saturday the 19th of December and called C.S. yet again after another 45 minute wait. Finally was connected with Michael. Though he spoke good English, he was very short and slightly rude. I started to explain the whole dilemma and he cut me off saying "I see everything I need to see right here in my notes." He then went on the explain that the other C.S. agents did not know what they were doing when they said the item was being shipped out because it was under investigation. I thanked him for finally getting a straight answer and some truth after hours of disinformation. He stated that the investigation would take 24-48 hours. After that I would receive an email along with tracking information. He also said that yes, the shipment would be expedited 2-day shipping with a better method of shipment.
He explained in reference to what the other agents told me, that that is not how Macy's conducts business and that their warehouse would conduct the investigation and for me not to call back and take up anymore of their time. Really??? WTH??? Needless to say I waited until Dec, 22, 2020 and NOTHING! Keep in mind that the first call was on Dec, 06, 2020. So if an investigation was indeed taking place, and it took 24-48 hours as I was told... then WHAT IN THE HELL WAS TAKING SO LONG???
I called again 12/22/2020 and got C.S. agent NIKKI. The absolute worst English on the planet! A so-called ritzy store like Macy's can surely afford to hire kids in the United States with at least a 5th grade education to handle their customer service calls? These non-english speaking people over seas are definitely not cutting it. Nikki gave me the same run-around as the first person Connie. No supervisor, No one there who speaks better English, etc... Still managed to get the same line of crap out of her that my order would ship out within 24 hours. I told her that it was under so-called investigation and that she needed to check that status as well. She said everything had already been approved and that ONCE AGAIN.. I would receive and email within 24 hours to confirm all of this along with expedited tracking information. I double checked again to make sure they had my correct email and phone number, and they did.
Here we are 27 hours later and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! I'm convinced that a barrel of monkey's could run Macy's customer service better than these people! They have managed to ruin my wife's Christmas and Anniversary present simply by not being capable of handling a real life situation that's not on the teleprompt in front of them to read. I also believe that all of this could have been avoided if Macy's simply sent the item with a noted courier like FedEX or UPS insured to the door. Someone should have to sign for expensive jewelry in the least. I have had some dissatisfaction with retailers in my lifetime, but at age 52 THIS TAKES THE CAKE!!! Let this be a warning to anyone considering Macy's online ordering system. Just don't do it. If you have to have it, then go to the store. Better yet, go to a DIFFERENT store. One that is not called Macy's!

I received very poor customer service from one of Redding CA Macy's managers. After the poor service I received from her, I told her that I was not going to shop at Macy's anymore and cut up my card. She told the Sales Manager that I assaulted her....grabbed her arm, scratched her, and threw things at her. Might I say....ridiculous. I did none of the above!!! I just told her that I wasn't going to shop at Macy's anymore and this is how she chose to respond. In addition, the Sales Manager was rude, did most of the talking, and told me she wasn't going to listen to me. The Sales Manager told me that I wasn't welcome at Macys anymore and if I came in then security would escort me out because I assaulted an associate. When I told her that I did none of those things, I was told not to argue with her. I wish I had taped the conversation because it is a hard to believe story.
Bottom line, The manager lied and they banned me from the store without verifying what the manager said or even interested in listening to one of their customers. All they had to do was watch the tapes/videos....easily verifiable that the manager was lying and I never touched her or threw anything at her. I called the Redding store and asked to speak to a district or regional manager. They said they would call me back with the phone number, but a week later...no call. Why would anyone want to shop at a store that treats its customers like this?! It is so surreal!!!!

As of today which is Dec.14, 2020 I still haven't received my leggings and I've called customer' service twice on two different days about my package but I'm getting nowhere with those dumb ducks concerning my package whereabouts or when or if I'll receive my order and also when I check the tracking number that macys provided me with it's been saying preship USPS is waiting the item from the seller. I shopped with Macy's but this was the first time I had such a bad experience. The tracking on an order never updated and UPS said they didn't have package. I chatted with reps which kept repeating the tracking number and not even acknowledging any question I asked. I called and spoke to a rep (outsourced) who kept saying the package would arrive in a day. And encouraged me to call ups to investigate which I repeatedly told her I had already done. She used phrases like are you not listening etc. I told her, "Are you not listening to my concern."
Finally spoke to a sup (outsourced again) which was even less help. Said she would request UPS to research (tomorrow). Hello you cannot go back in time. Said delay was due to a holiday which by the way had already passed a while ago. Order was placed after said holiday. I asked can I cancel the order then was told, "No ma'am 'cause it's in route." So I asked in route where is it? She had no response. After all that I got no help.

Macy's stole $49.50 from me. I wish I could give a negative star review. December 2019 I returned shoes that my husband bought for my birthday at the Bend store. The sales woman gave me a refund on a "Happy Returns card". Then the she ordered the shoes I wanted online (because they didn't have my size in stock) and used the "Happy Returns card" to pay for them ($49.50). A week so later I get an email from Macy's saying the address was "undeliverable" and it got sent back to Macy's. I called customer service and they said they would mail me an "E-Gift Card" for the return. I waited and got another email saying that the E-Gift Card was undeliverable and was sent back to Macy's again.
I called again and they said they would mail another one and I insisted they send it to another address and they wouldn't do it. I asked to speak to a manager and agent said it would be an hour or more and that they will just mail it again. So I get another email saying the E-Gift card was sent back again now for the 3rd time. I called and the customer service person this time seemed like she was going to help me. She took down the new address and right when it seemed like I was actually going to get my refund, after an hour on the phone she said she was having computer issues and will call me back, but she never did. I called them again the recording says their closed, yet the website says Macy's customer service is 24/7. I have been dealing with this issue for 9 months! I have never experienced a store steal money from me. Macy's needs to correct this and give me back my refund. This is the worst experience in customer service I have ever had.

Despite spending over two hours searching, I could not find a link to print a return label for either one. Received no human response from calls to Customer Service and no response to emails, either at the time order received, or two months later. I've been having issues with logging into Macy's website for months. It always took multiple trials before I could pay the bill. In May even after multiple trials, I was not able to get on their site to pay the bill. I called to pay 3 days later and paid the full balance ($600) even though I had a few more months to pay it off. I was tired of dealing with their broken site so wanted to just pay it off. Little did I know that I even though I paid the full statement balance, Macy's charged me $27 fee that I was not informed about.
For 2 months, Macy's continued to charge me $27 on top of the initial $27 they charged me in May. I was in the process of buying a house in August and when the mortgage company run my credit report they told me about the outstanding balance on my Macy's card that has decreased my score by 100 points!!! After spending hours on the phone with Macy's useless customer service, the issue was never resolved. Macy's never owned up to them not communicating the fee to me. Beware! While they acknowledge that they did in fact receive the money they have not returned it to me. I have logged 25 calls, e-mails and letters and have had promises made and broken regarding getting the money returned. Most recently Macy's executive office (minions that work for the CEO) told me I would have a check in less than 30 days. That was June 27th. No check. Why should you care. It appears it is a company policy hold checks for cash flow purposes. If you get in a situation where you are owed money by Macy's you may not get it back. NEVER USE MACY'S FURNITURE DELIVERY. I ordered two beds and two box springs to be delivered. I used a debit card for payment which I understood would be processed after delivery. First delivery date was set - numerous emails, texts and voicemails confirmed the date and delivery window - all saying repeatedly that drivers would call when they were on their way. Day of delivery came and no one called and no one showed up. We waited hours and hours. I called Macy’s furniture and delivery at least 5 times that day and the answer was “they’re on their way” but they simply NEVER SHOWED. Called next day to try to reschedule.... The woman was super apologetic and said she’d call me back within an hour and that she was arranging a special delivery. She never called back. I did however get an email confirmation saying special delivery had been arranged for the next day but the email had the wrong address.
I called Macy’s again to confirm address. Customer service rep said they had to do the address change manually but the drivers had the right info. NOPE! Again, they never showed for the second delivery date and never even called. Next day I called to cancel the beds which they assured me they would do no problem, and that they’d send me an email confirmation. Never got the email, and guess what - today we got notice from our bank that we were overdrawn because MACYS HAD CHARGED OUR ACCOUNT for the beds - approximately $2600. We had bought beds at a different place so this Macy’s charge overdrew our checking account by over $2k.
Called Macy’s again. Frantic because our account was now so overdrawn. Was kept on hold for an hour, then finally told that they would reverse the charge but it would take 48 hours. I have never encountered a company and group of people SO INCOMPETENT - it was such a fiasco that at times I thought I was being punked. It was hands down THE WORST customer experience I’ve ever had. They wasted so much of my time, they cost us money and NEVER AT ANY TIME did someone apologize for the horrible experience. NOT ONCE did anyone offer anything remotely compensatory. I’ve heard they are going out of business and I can absolutely see why.

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE!!!! My mall finally opened up yesterday so I was originally going to do curbside pickup as online had stated the item was in stock at that location. But, I figured before purchasing online, I'll just go in and try my shoes on 1st. (Display was a different color) so I had asked the lady if she could grab the one in my size & color desired from the back.
She finally came out after about 15mins to inform me that the shoes I wanted are not in stock, which confused me but it was what it was so, I said okay and walked out. But, then I said to my boyfriend that it doesn't seem right because online said that the item was in store at that location. So, I went back in and spoke with a gentleman who also confirmed the item shows it's in stock but the box they have is empty. He continued to explain that it could've been the display pair & someone may have sold them without the box and never took off the inventory. Again makes no sense but whatever. So, he pressured me into buying online. I kept saying I wanted expedited shipping and will pay whatever cost just to have them by the time needed. He said yes no problem at all. He even waived the shipping fee due to the inconvenience. Sounded great right!!!
But, it wasn't until later when I looked at my receipt that It stated standard shipping with a later date of coarse. So, I attempted to call customer support to change the shipping and was unable to get ahold of someone. So, I tried again today (3 different phones going by the way) to be on hold for 3hours with NO ONE to speak with. Now I'm starting to lose my patience. So, I reached out to the store specifically, spoke with a representative who informed me that I was not able to change anything through them & it can only be done online myself or by calling customer support.
After 2 days of trying to speak with someone and after 3 hours of a continuous hold, I was not going to call back customer support to get nowhere. I also explained that I was unable to access my order online as it was not recognizing my email address. So I even asked if they could confirm the email since I never received a confirmation to begin with and stated that the gentleman most likely took down the wrong email. She refused to confirm. Now my patience is running thin. So, I asked to speak with a supervisor to help and she refused to do so. Well, there went my patience and now I just want to cancel my order completely. Finally, I got a number to call a supervisor ONLY to be told the only way to change/cancel is to do it online myself or call customer service & there's nothing they can do for me. I even asked if I could come in store today with my receipt & c/c to get my refund and of course the same response.
I have worked in retail & NEVER EVER heard of such nonsense to cancel an order!!!! EVER!!!! So, what would've happened if I had made the order for curbside to begin with. I would've driven there to only be told they don't have my order. This is completely unacceptable!!!! So, since Macy's is a piece of shit. I called my bank to dispute it and purchased my item elsewhere! ** YOU MACY'S!!!! I will no longer purchase anything through this company.

The GM Brooke says she will try to get me a new watch. RIGHT.... That never happened. Next thing well after a week they say they that Rado is open and they are following up with Rado but they need parts - well the parts are pins and I'm sure there are pins available. More time goes by nothing. All the while Brooke is standing behind one of the associates having them send me messages when she is suppose to be contacting me back herself. She has told me numerous times she would follow up and call me back and it never happens. She called 1 time days later than she said. Now she was suppose to call me yesterday and guess what? NO CALL. I'm sooo done with this **! DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE...

I ordered a pair of $80.91 shoes 4/25. They were a 1/2 size too small, so I ordered another pair and returned the smaller size on 4/29 via UPS. I received a confirmation email from Macy's on 4/30. Macy's received the shoes 5/5 per UPS tracking. I emailed Macy's 5/13, 5/15, 5/18, 5/19. No response. Called twice 5/13 and 5/15 and on hold over 1 hour 15 mins and 1 hour 45 mins, both times no answer. I finally got ahold of a live person (Felipe) on 5/22. I asked the guy, that could not speak very good English, where the money was and he put me on hold for about 5 mins. He came back on to tell me it was just processed 5/22.
Hmmm... Chance that he just then processed it? He had no excuse other than the stupid Covid-19 excuse. (Seems like everyone is using this excuse right now). I asked for a manager, (Laura) who basically told me the same thing Felipe did. I guess I'll have to wait the 5-7 business days to see if the money actually gets into my account. No more information. Horrible service at best.

I know that these are hard times with COVID19 but I do not understand why customer service agents aren’t available to talk to customers on the phone or respond to emails. If Macy’s is not equipped to have their customer service agents work from home on their telephones and computers, then you are not equipped to do business at all. It saddens me to write this because I LOVE Macys and I never want them to go out of business and I diligently shop in their stores most of the time, but I’m now forced to shop online and I need customer service. There is always something that goes wrong. I’m not mad about that. I don’t judge mistakes. However, I do pass judgement on how issues and mistakes are handled, even during a crisis. Especially during a crisis. We all need to be at our best right now and if you can’t be, then bow out. As much as I hate to say this, I’d rather shop online at a store that can handle this crisis better. And yes, first world problems.

Macy's is using COVID-19 as an excuse to shut down their customer service. There is no one available via phone, email, or chat, and it has been this way since March! This is completely unacceptable. They should not be accepting orders if they are unable to communicate with customers. They are happy to accept our money but by the looks of things, they have not been following through with orders.
I just received an email that one of my items that I ordered is "backordered" and that I must "contact" them or they will cancel my order. They provided a "manage backorder" button on the email, but it lead nowhere! It just let me to my orders page on my Macy's profile. At this point, there is no way to contact them so unless stores start opening and/or Macy's resumes customer service my order will be canceled.
I also have two items that I ordered back in March that I have been waiting for the stores to open to return. I tried to cancel the orders before they were shipped, but again, Macy's customer service was defunct and there was no way for me to prevent the order from being fulfilled. No other store is doing this...Macy's deserves everything they get in terms of a decrease in customers, income, stocks, etc. No wonder they are going downhill, it's stuff like this that makes me have ZERO sympathy for them. I wouldn't be surprised if Macy's joins Sears in the rubbish bin on the side of the road after this!

On May 13, 2020 I placed an online order for 2 pair of Cargo shorts, 1 Red Ralph Lauren shirt and 1 White Levi's bat logo shirt. I received an email that my order will be in 2 shipments. Shipment 1 the shorts, and shipment 2 the shirts. Received a email that shipment 1 was being shipped, and shipment 2 was being processed. I notice only one shirt was being processed. So I tried to call Macy's customer service, but I received a message stating I'm not able to speak with anyone due to the covid-19. I tried to email them from the original email that was sent, I received a do not respond back message stating no one is available to help through email, my order number and confirmation my order is being shipped. Still the wrong order. So I tried to contact the corporate office same message, I won't be able to speak with a agent due to covid-19. I tried to email corporate. Still no response.
This morning I received an alert that my 2nd shipment was being shipped which is a Sean John shirt I never ordered in the first place. Again tried calling and email customer service and corporate, no luck. From this point, all I want is my correct order or a refund. This is my first time as a consumer with Macy's Online and my experience is horrible. Everything is already paid for in full.

We have been a card holder with Macy's since 1976, never had issues until now. They have messed up our credit rating that was excellent to a fair rating over a charge we know nothing about. This just happened in May, 2020. We purchased things in December and paid our bill in January on time as usual. We moved and last week we noticed our credit rating dropped, got online with TransUnion and Macy's shows our account fine in Jan. Feb, then Mar shows 30 days past due, April shows 60 days past due. How is this possible when we have not been in their stores since Dec, 2019?
Tried to call and you just wait and wait, and wait, never got through. Then I drove by the Macy's in our new state, and has not opened back up yet, so I found their email and sent a request for a copy of the bill to see if it is even ours since we have not purchased from them in 5 months. It bounced back saying they do not respond to emails due to Covid19. It is very disturbing that they are doing this during Covid19, yet have no means to speak to customer service to resolve the matter. They should be ashamed of themselves for what they are doing to consumers. I visited a site called Trust Pilot and there are plenty of unhappy customers not being taken care of by Macy's. Not a trustworthy company at all. If they don't step up and right a wrong, then I will never step foot in their stores again.

There is no customer service available and the local store said they can't help with online purchases. They said they cannot because my account is past due and it needs to be up date before doing that, also I received a notifications my balance was reduced from $38000 to $1200 which is unfair because of just one late payment around the time the whole country is in state of emergency while I did not do anything. On 3/01/2020 I placed order #** via the mobile app. On 03/05 I received an email stating that the package had been delivered. I then went to check the time of delivery only to find out that the package had been delivered to an address I haven't lived in for about 4 years. So I think to myself, "Okay, I may have screwed up let me check the address that I have on file in my account." I did that to only discover that the address is not linked to my account at all. So I then go check my previous orders to see where the lapse in information came from but again, my older orders reflect that address. So confused, I reached out to Macy's to only find out that my only option was to receive a gift card which I was later able to use to re-purchase the items (this is after several phone calls and conversations with 2 different managers/supervisors).
The first I spoke with was able to issue me a gift card but no help on how I could actually receive the packages that I ordered. The second manager was able to use the gift card and place the order for my items. The second manager also informed me and reassured me several times that he was able to update the address and he would be able to provide me with a 25% discount coupon for future purchases. So considering the issue my next five questions were "how can I be confident and reassured that if I order in the future, my packages will be delivered to the correct address?". Each (expletive) time I asked he assured me with "ma'am I can assure you that you will not have this issue in the future, I have updated your address".
So forward to 03/08, I placed another order (order #**) and I am back in the same damn boat. I received an email this morning stating that my packages will deliver in multiple packages. I go to check the address and it's being delivered to the address that I was assured was removed from my profile. Macy's can't do anything because it has shipped. They can monitor and have UPS send it back to them. In order for me to receive my items I have 2 options: one; pay for the items and once Macy's receives them back I can get a credit and two; wait for Macy's to receive the items and they can issue me another gift card and they can then use it to repurchase my items. But in the mean time my packages are being delivered to an unknown person who lives in a complex where they are stealing packages that are left outside, so people are walking around in stuff that was paid for with my blood sweat and tears.
I work 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with 6 kids at home. I do not have the time to sit outside and wait for packages to be delivered. When I was told that the issue was resolved I trusted that and I went out on faith and placed another order. It's not often that I get to shop but when I do it's for quality and I thought I would receive that from Macy's, but the quality of customer service is really missing from what I have experienced. But I am only one person that is contributing to their sales so I guess I don't matter and I have been shown that several times within a week. So thank you Macy's! I had to return items after trying to exchange and EVERY SINGLE TIME I HAD TO DEAL WITH THE PHILIPPINES OUTSOURCED CALL CENTERS. These people are rude, do not listen, REFUSE TO TRANSFER you to a U.S. representative as required by U.S. Federal Law, leave you on hold for up to 30 minutes and then hang up on you or just laugh when you ask for a supervisor and then hang up on you. And, forget Macy's executive offices.
It takes WEEKS to hear back from them and then you have to wait to get a return call back because no one is available to handle your issue. MACY'S STILL OWES ME $180 from gift card refunds NEVER RECEIVED. I told my husband never ever give me a Macy's gift card again. Cash only so I can put it on my own Visa card and then dispute the charge and get immediate credit when Macy's refuses to refund their gift cards. In December I noticed that my wedding band had changed colors. Brought my ring with receipt back to Macy's, spoke to a supervisor by the name of Diane.
I was told that the reason my white gold changed colors is because I didn't have my ring serviced and when you don't service Macy's jewelry it changes colors. She took it back and said, "Well if you turn it you can't even tell." We were so upset. We knew it wasn't her fault but we didn't get an apology or anything and it seemed like she didn't want to be bothered with it. After two hours of the time frame I tried to call customer service to see what is going on, the agent Maria answered and she told me that they tried to call you multiple times and that was a lie, because I only received two phone calls. First one I missed but the second one I did answer but no one was on the other line so I hang up.
Maria was very unprofessional on way how to handle a customer, while I was trying to explain to her that I did answer the phone she kept saying we called you and in a way defending the driver like she was with him. I asked for her supervisor, and asked her if she can send me my mattress in the near days but she said no. She said it has to be a week from now because, "We do scheduling a week before," and that is the second lie. When I purchase my mattress the sales agent which she was so sweet, professional, nice lady (her name is Salma) gave me multiple options for delivery within less than four days from purchasing the mattress.
I have tried to call customer service to file a complaint. The agent who answered me asked me to hold to get me a manager/supervisor to speak with me then she get back to me with an answer that the supervisor will take 10-15 minutes to get to you so your best option for you is to file the complaint online. I asked for her supervisor name and she told that we have too many so my question is that they have many supervisors but none of them cant get to me to talk to me just because I have a complaint but now he made double. to Macy's cooperate I recommend to try to hire the right people for the right positions, overall my experience has been horrible aside from Salma (the sales agent) who represent it macy's in a very well professional way. I am very disappointed on how the customer service handled the situation as well as the complaint department, it is very not good from macy's a great company.

I called them multiple times. Instead of being responsible, they just told me I can return it if I don’t need it anymore! I was expecting much more from Macy’s.

MONSTER MANAGER AT MACY'S WESTMINSTER, CA. Customer asked for a cash refund for a gift she received and despite having a receipt and tags on the items with clothes in New condition, she was threatened and bullied by a manager named Nicole. The refund was minimal around $60 or so and explained she was facing desperate times and is why she was asking for an exception to getting a gift card. Personally, I have also asked for the same thing and the manager did process the refund allowing me cash for my gift receipt and not store credit. The manager refused to accommodate her and within minutes, kicked her out of the store and threatened to call security. She was a total bully, unprofessional and clearly without edict.
This manager, Nicole, also refused to provide her name to the woman and instead, proceeded to threaten her to leave the store. As a Manager and if she was acting in accordance to Macy's policies, she should have nothing to hide and shared her name freely. I would never hire this person and there are too many qualified deserving people that should have this job and Nicole FIRED. The woman did nothing to deserve this and left the store after being followed by Nicole... We actually thought she was going to throw her down. I am really upset to have watched this and will never go to this store again. Very disturbing and unacceptable.

"Today & tomorrow, get 20% OFF up to a total of $100* when you open a Macy's Credit Card or Macy's American Express® Card *Subject to credit approval. A total savings of up to $100 on your Macy's purchases over the 2 days. Apply Now". How do you think the above advertisement from Macy's? I saw it in the morning. Then I spent most of my day to find stuffs online in Macy's, and of course then applied their card.
After waiting for about 30-60 minutes, I didn't get any information about their decision for my application. Then I called their customer service, just got to know that their decision may send to me by mail in about 7-10 business, and the 20% discount had only two days window - the day I got the card and the next day. Why Macy's did not write all those information in the same advertisement. I felt that I was cheated by the Macy's advertisement, I thus required their customer service to cancel my application. My application was cancelled immediately, but they had checked my credit score before that, just within the 30-60 minutes right I applied online.
All I feel their so-called 20% discount is just for luring you to apply their credit card. 1) From the advertisement , you will feel you should get to know Macy's decision immediately, then you will know if you can or can not get the 20%. But you actually did not get anything, and then they told you they will mail to you their decision in about 7-10 business days! 2) How many people can immediately use the the card at the same day or the next day when it just arrived to your mailbox.See, it is Macy's, such a big company, how could trick customer in such a terrible way! Be careful, before you go to Macy's, for anything!

I made a big order with Macy’s on 11/30 for $427. Macy’s failed to fulfill the entire order and one coat (for 16.99) was on backorder. The backordered item was shipped on 12/27 and when it was shipped my bank account was charged a pre-auth charge for the 16.99 as well as the entire order that I had already paid for ($410). So now my bank account is negative and checks are going to bounce because of Macy’s. When I called customer service I was told, “You’ll be fine. It will fall off, how long that takes us up to your financial institution”. I shouldn’t have to wait for it to fall off, I have already paid this order minus 16.99 and Macy’s had no right to hold my money again. I will never shop here again and will post my experience everywhere I can so other people know how this place does business. This is unacceptable!

Ordered a $650.00 ($1,600 retail supposedly) and it was packed in an envelope inside a zip lock baggie. The kind you get at a deli when you buy a pound of ham. Can not believe that Macy's has gotten this cheap and disrespectful to their customers where they could not include a .25 cent cardboard box to protect the earrings. Even in the stores the stock is sparse and not exactly neat. At one time, many years ago, Macy's was an elite store. Now they are in the same category as a discount department store. Have had a Macy's card since 1985 and I use it less and less each year for this reason. I sent an email to Macy's customer non service days ago and still all I hear are crickets. Macy's will soon go the way of the other once elite stores.

I would like to complain about a bedding department at Macy’s on S Lake, Pasadena, CA. I have been twice there in 2019 and both times sale people refused to serve me. In April 2019, My husband was after the surgery, and came to buy some soft top on his medical bed but I was unfamiliar with merchandise and ask for advice. The sale person (I don’t remember her name) said I had to go back to home and made my research before I came to purchase at Macy’s. On December 22, I came to bedding department to exchange the type of comforter. A sale person Mary said I should go to the return stand as soon as she saw me. I answer that I have been there and a return person recommended me to come to the department and check if there is a type of comforter available for exchange. Mary said that I have to wait for 10 minutes while she was serving another customer. I agreed and waited.
When she was available to serve me, she looked at my comforter and said I had to go and checked the corner of the store for it. She did not check the available inventory on the computer. When I returned and said I could not find, she did not recheck the availability of my desirable comforter in the store either and recommended me again to go the return stand and resolve my problems there. Otherwise I distracted her from serving other customers. When I insisted that I am a customer too and she needs to check the availability of my comforter in the store, she called the manager of the floor and claimed that I was attacking her. I felt she was bullying me, and I have been a Macy’s customer for 14 years, and now I don’t feel that I am welcome to the store anymore.

Awful experience with you guys, no wonder I stick with Amazon. Truly didn't think anyone could mess this up this bad. I ordered a comforter for my sister and brother-in law for Christmas on 12/6. I got an email confirmation saying that the item was shipped and expected to arrive on 12/16. When my item didn't come I naturally called my leasing office to confirm and then tracked the shipment which gave me no information (still waiting shipment). I thought this was weird so I emailed MACY's "support" online and received an email this morning saying that my item isn't in stock and they were issuing me a refund?! I then had an awful support with customer service. I asked for an additional credit/gift card for my hassle and they offered me $10!!! That won't even buy my gas to go back to your store to get the comforter. I now have no gift or TIME to get another gift for Christmas for my sister and brother in law. You guys lost a customer today.

Macy's has become one of the worse stores to do business with in my opinion. I had a horrible experience on Macys.com. Every coupon I tried to use they told me I could not use. No Black Friday, no 25% off, my items were excluded. And they said, "Just use it on your next order." That was their solution. Corporate doesn't care they are receiving their bonuses. I have left voicemails and have NEVER been contacted by anyone from Macys. I don't matter to them. I would suggest using another Department store if you want to be treated fairly.

Upon placing my first order, they blocked my order and card as fraud. I had to call my credit card company. This time I called Macy's directly. Again they blocked my credit card as fraud. Placing an order online was impossible. Transactions are only easy with honored sale pricing if you have a Macy's card. The sale was not noted nor was it for Macy's card holders only.
Finally placed my order. They did not honor the sale price. They charged me twice. I did not receive my shipment. It was handed to someone on the curb. Customer service does not speak well nor understand English. My 4th call to them. Their incompetence and the ability to place an order, charged correctly, shipped correctly was not a concern to them. They just kept repeating, "I can not help." Transferring me to a supervisor was just as bad. Very dissapointed in the quality of care and standards. Macy's is one of my favorite stores. Unfortunately, I will no longer order or shop there. I wouldn't be surprised if stores closed after the holidays. Raise your standards Macy's. Hire qualified employees to represent those standards.

Based on that call we removed old furniture. Delivery date came and furniture did not come. Learned Macy's never had the furniture. Ryan ** said he would offer a credit or gift card for $100. We lived with plastic fold up chairs in family room for two weeks. Ryan ** never in fact provided the credit. He denied the credit. Ryan ** never answers his phone and never returns a call. Ryan ** responds to emails days later. Ryan ** never responded to providing us with another name if Ryan ** was unwilling or unable to assist us. Beware if you get a promise from Ryan ** as he will not deliver - then deny it.
We felt Ryan ** did bait and switch tactic to say he would give a credit to us so that we would not cancel our furniture order. Ultimately when we realized Ryan ** was never going to handle the matter we went to our local Macy's store (which we adore) and the furniture manager handled the situation immediately. We remain very loyal customers to Macy's but be weary if have to deal with Ryan **.

For the first time, I purchased two items from Macy's website and had it sent to be delivered to my office.--My office's regular business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 - 4:30 PM. The time in which the UPS driver came was on Monday at 10:43 PM.--Obviously our office was closed at this time and instead of leaving the package in the drop box located in front of our office, he instead handed it to a random person that was on the block. This person apparently signed for my package at 10:43 PM and claimed that it was theirs. The next day, I came back to work to find an email that my package had been "delivered" and signed by a man named "Nathan." I spoke to three different representatives at Macy's only to be told that I needed to wait for a letter from UPS to be delivered to me in 7-9 business days in order for them to do anything about my situation.
Then comes today, I received a letter in the mail from Macy's saying that they are unable to process a refund for my purchase because someone already signed for it.--This was the end of the story for them. I was absolutely upset by this because I did not sign for that package and now I am short of $130.00 just because the UPS guy carelessly gave my package away to some random person. I have never been more disappointed with a company before and have never received this sort of treatment for something that was not even my fault. Macy needs to be better.

During the checkout, Macy's system did not ask my shipping address as I had my shipping address in the record, I didn't think they would use the old shipping address neither. When they emailed me order confirmation, I noticed they actually used wrong shipping address. To correct the issue, I contacted 5 customer rep with a hope that someone knows how to correct it as the items were not shipped yet. First they told me they can change the shipping address by rerouting it after shipping. I called after shipping and then they told me they cannot reroute it and I should wait until delivery and they will refund my money. In the last email, they told me to contact the local post office in IL!!! I still don't have the items and wasted so much time with this. Macy’s customer service is truly the worst. I told the clerk -- I am not intending on shopping from Macy's if ever. She said, "You can come back tomorrow -- the system maybe working" -- I know it was a lie; at the end I did not get any resolution of the issue from neither PayPal or Macy's -- this is the culture we have to deal with in these Armageddon times.
