I don't normally ask for discounts unless it's an item that I can't find easily otherwise. I didn't originally find what I wanted, but found 2 sets of 4 melamine cups, one had a single broken cup. These I let my children use instead of glass. I asked for an additional discount for the 1 set and was only offered 10%, he didn't speak to me, or I would have at least reasoned that a 25% was more reasonable since it was 1 of 4 cups that was broken. Because of principle, I did not purchase the 1 set, and am dissatisfied with how the manager handled such a small purchase.

I decided to go to Kmart in Gresham in my pajamas and I had the "security" people follow me around. They think nobody sees them, but we all do! I then decided to return something and the manager treated me like I was stupid. This is not the first time I have a bad experience! One time, I bought "10k gold" chains and it was fake (turned my neck green) along with the 1/5 ct. tw diamonds. Do they think we are stupid? How is this place still open?! They should improve big time. And in desperate need of security people who know what they are doing, you aren't super spies or invisible! Follow the real thieves not an individual with pajamas!!! Ridiculous.

I have been to this store for the last time. I can understand incompetence, but rudeness and even complete disrespect is uncalled for. I talked to the manager, and I can see it starts at the top. She wasn't interested in how her employees treat customers. I can see why Kmart stores are on the way out, the sooner the better.

In April we decided to use Kmart Why Not Lease It program, so we asked an employee how it works, and what the service fees were etc. No employee seemed as if they knew how it worked, or how the fees applied, but did however pull out some card that supposedly shows how much you would be paying once it is paid off. Which from my experience was really wrong. It did seem kind of funny that they were trying to push the why not lease it program at us but still knew very little about what they were even showing us.
When you call in with questions, the people over the phone always had something different to say. We asked the one woman what the best way to pay it off for our benefit and she told us that if we just keep making the payments as followed we would still get it paid off with minimal interest. Turned out that was a lie and we missed the 60 day buyout. But we just kept making payments as we were told, and the principal just never seemed to go down. The contract on my actual account states that I had to make the first payment, then 8 more following until it has been paid off.
I just made my 13th payment and still owe them over $150? The guy on the phone kept getting defensive about how we were explained the program and I've come to the conclusion that KMART purposely makes you jump through hoops to find something out that could have simply been answered. I think I am finally on a payment system that will actually pay it off but even then after all I've gone through with them I almost want to just ruin my stuff and let them come get it back. I am NEVER that kind of person when it comes to things like this but I've had enough!! The word has to get out about how they are practically stealing money from people. DO NOT USE KMART WHY NOT LEASE IT unless you really do like having constant headaches, and overpaying.

I went into the Kmart at 102 Hicks Drive in Rome, GA today to buy my sister and mother a new outfit. I am becoming a doctor so I bought a new watch to count pulses and what not. I BOUGHT the watch, sliding my debit card and receiving and receipt - at the jewelry counter. I then walked around the store with my mom and young sister to buy them stuff. After purchasing all of my items ($140 worth) I went to leave.
As I was leaving I set off alarms, I assumed it was the watch, so I went BACK INTO the store to customer service desk, where the boss was on the phone. A white lady on register 3 said, "I can get you over here." I showed her my receipt, which she just said okay to, and then the black girl at register 4 said here are scissors to cut off the tag since that was the only way to remove them SO SAID the white lady at register 3. I actually yelled, "here is my receipt" and waved it around before and after letting the black lady see it. Then once my watch was security tag free, I left with my receipt in my hand.
Once I was outside in the parking lot, I was chased by the white lady at register 3 not only was I chased, she was screaming through the parking lot that she needed to see my receipt because I didn't pay for the watch I just took. The parking lot was full of people. I am a BLACK lady being chased out of a full parking lot because this ** thought I stole something. I just showed her my receipt. She said it's all part of her job. No it is loss prevention's job to catch a thief before they walk out of the store once a thief leaves they call 911. That lady had no right to scream at me running because she THOUGHT I stole something.
I spend 300$ total at this Kmart today on clothes, shoes, the watch (btw doesn't even work), purses, jewelry, and such. I went online yesterday afternoon, I spent 6 hours online looking for stuff to put on layaway, and there was NOT A SINGLE ITEM IN STOCK from the women's or jewelry section. I even contacted customer support online to see if it was a mistake. It was not. The online catalog was completely out of stock for store pick up and lay away. I'm not sure whether to sue Kmart because of the lady yelling at me and having people all around me, even an employer, see me being accused of theft or what... I was and am humiliated!!! I shouldn't have had such an awful experience with Kmart! I will be returning everything I bought today and everything that I receive from Kmart.
I will never again spend a dime at this store. It should be shut down due to lack or professionalism, lack of inventory, lack of respect, and racism. I worked at this store years ago and the rate of people quitting was like 7 people quit for every 1 person hired. The employees do not have the skills required to be in a business where they need to interact with people. They have absolutely no respect and I bet if an elderly white man or woman rang going out of the store and came back in to fix the issue, they wouldn't be chased and yelled at for stealing anything. I do not recommend anyone going to this ** for any reason whatsoever!!! I will walk around naked and starve before I shop at this store again! SHUT IT DOWN.

I bought a battery powered razor from Kmart in Easton Pennsylvania. When I got it home and opened it the item did not work. So I took the cutting edge off and found it had hair inside. This razor was used and returned then put back on the shelf to be sold again. First selling used items at full price. Second the customer service representative tried to explain to me that it was the manufacturer (Wow what bs). Third cannot get in touch with Kmart corporate; their 800 numbers only lead to sales and service. I wonder why?? (Maybe too many phone calls like mine).
To close I will add that not only is this a disgusting malpractice I have noticed here and at other stores a shopping cart loaded with returned items to be placed back on the shelf for the next consumer to purchase. People, if someone buys a car and drive it off the lot it is then USED and has a depreciated value. But when someone buys from Kmart and returns that item it is resealed and sold as new. We need to stand up for ourselves and stop this madness.

Two weeks ago I purchased an adjustable desk chair for my grandson. Pulled it out of the sealed box and it was missing parts. The parts are on the sealed card, but several parts were missing. Packed it up and returned it to the store, at which time I grabbed another sealed box. Came home, unpacked, and discovered the same situation - missing parts.
Tried calling the customer service number on the back of the instructions, but I keep getting a voice mail. Called Sears and they don't deal with parts for this product, only appliances. Called the store and they directed me to the furniture department. The young man could not help, and transferred me to "605," the claim department. No one picked up the phone. Used to be a faithful KMart customer. Things have really changed. Since I am here in Michigan, I used to be able to get in touch with the HQs which was located in Troy. Now they are in the Sears Tower in Chicago. I will return the chair, get my money back and go elsewhere. Sorry to see such an icon go down the drain.

I have been a valued customer of Kmart and Sears for many years. I am also a cardholder of a Sears credit card and a Sears MasterCard. Kmart and Sears has/HAD always been my favorite place to shop. On August 28, 2014, I purchased a trampoline for my niece. She was so excited to receive it. She loved her trampoline. She would jump on it from sun up to sun down, until July 19th, 2015 - it was damaged. I called the Kmart that I purchased it from on July 20th. This Kmart in Monroe, NC is in the process of closing down. They were very unprofessional, rude, and they were not much help at all. I had some personal things that came up shortly thereafter.
On August 6, 2015, I went home and googled the phone number for the Kmart 2-year warranty that I had purchased. I explained to them what happened to the trampoline. I was assigned a case number **. I was told that someone would be contacting me within the next 3 days. I waited, no phone call. I called back August 10, 2015. Lauren told me to call back because she could not find the warranty under my ShopYourWay rewards number in the system, even after I provided them all the information to pull it up.
On August 19, 2015, I called back because no one has contacted me. I spoke with someone and I was told the claim was denied because of wind damage. I explained to her and a manager that I was told that everything was covered - when related to damages. This is not the first time that I have heard this from one of your cashiers. They are well-known to tell customers that if the protection plan is purchased - everything is covered. This has not just been my experience, but also close friends and family. I am so disappointed in Kmart. My niece is out of a trampoline and I am out of $300.00. If I would have known that there were exclusions to the policy, I would have taken other means to get my niece a trampoline.

You guys have to be the most incompetent people on this planet! All there was to do was update or cancel the item all together before it shipped! If Kmart was going to employ people from another country to service Americans they should have at least ensured that the geniuses speaking to their customers could at least offer exceptional customer service. This is why Kmart and Sears will never be able to compete with Walmart, Target, or Amazon!!! This is why there are over 200 stores closing! This is why soon there won't be any store fronts and hundreds more of Americans will be without jobs! Thanks Kmart! What you do is sub-par! What you sell is sub-par and your brand sub-par!!! I was once a loyal customer because the store is in route.
You geniuses have lost and will continue to lose customers like myself because you are unorganized and you outsource jobs to people who could care less about actually offering good customer service!!!!! I have called you guys 7 times!! 7 times! Only to receive sub-par answers and sub-par service! All attributed to the fact that your online system is just as sub-par as the people who answer the phones!!! We updated the addresses 3 times! Still you have chosen not to accept that address for my shipping but accept the updated address for my billing! Have you ever wondered why your company has to offer rewards and coupons... because again you will never stay afloat if Amazon and Walmart are around to smother you and drain every last penny pinching customer from your database!!! You guys are awful!!!

I ordered online a guardrail for my daughter's delta convertible crib on July 24th. I asked that the item were delivered to the Kmart Store in Lodi, NJ as it was supposed to be faster in that way. I was supposed to be able to pick up the item on August 4th. That day passed and I was still waiting for the "ready to pick up" email message, which came today a minute before of receiving another email message saying that my order was canceled as per my request (something I didn't!!!). Three days ago, I called Sears/Kmart customer service to find out what happened with my order, they told me to go directly to the store and ask over there. I waited until yesterday to go giving them more time. When I arrived to the customer service in the store, the person "in charge" asked to go to one of the cashiers. I did that and the answer was they didn't know and I have to go back to customer service. I did and nobody was there.
So I decided to call again to customer service. I did it and they told me that they will find out what happened with my order. I also asked for the number to complain about the store service. I called to the number they gave to me and was able to complain about the situation. This afternoon, I received a call from the Kmart Store and they left a voicemail saying they don't have the product and that the order was cancelled. I called the store to find out why that happened and the service by phone was the same as it was in the store (bad!!!).
I called back to customer service and at the beginning they told me nothing can be done as the order was cancelled. I ask to put the order back and sent the product to my house directly instead of the store. They offered me 10% off and free shipping. But it was all a lie. The product on the website was the same price as they offered to me even with the discount and the shipping day they told me was not the one I got in the email sent by them. So I decided to call back and cancel the order. I'm not gonna never ever buy anything else from Kmart.

Worst customer care I've ever experienced. I drove 50 miles to do the Tide, Downy, Hanes deal. Hanes for children of that matters which clearly it did not as my 2-year old was screaming by the time we left. Sat in line for an hour while they ran around the store trying to figure out what deal I was talking about. My husband had to run through the store leaving my daughter in the cart screaming because your employees assumed I was a liar. So I did 7 transactions, HAD 15 IN THE CART TO BE DONE SINCE I DROVE FOR FAR. Only 3 of those produced the 10000 in points.
Then manager said he would do 1 free input of 10000 points. Big whoop. I drove all that way for an ad your company clearly had posted and so now I'm out the 40 dollars the time I spent shopping for things that were left airing in a cart because I walked off pissed. The manager said it was not beneficial to him to help us further basically. I will never shop here again. I called Customer service and told her I wanted the 40 dollars they owed me on my credit card I used. She said no. I said, "Send me a visa card or store card that doesn't expire as I don't know when I'll Be there again." She said no. So here I shout still a day later so upset and nothing resolved. So, when problem was cleared up and I was ready to be cashed out I had to actually ask her to cash me next. WELL, the next customer in line had a HUGE problem with that because he had 1 $3 item and told me he didn't care how long I waited. That it was MY FAULT the line was held up... HUH?? Not KMart's fault?? Cashier ignored me and took care of the rude customer while a "manager" stood by and allowed her to!!! Told her to keep the merchandise ($65-70) and walked out.

Called store when I got home and talked to "acting manager" on duty Conner. Told him exactly what happened and fully described the cashier and location of the register. I have never been so publicly disrespected and embarrassed by anyone, let alone a place that would ever expect me patronize their establishment again!! I am so livid with the treatment I received that I am posting this story on every blog online I can find, as well as social media outlets. It looks like no one ever cleans. The only reason I went was for the electronics and they have nothing worth buying. I was looking for some video games for my son and the nice young brown-headed girl that was back there stocking shelves mentioned that they don't sell games or systems anymore. She saved me so much time that day. She was probably the only person in the whole store I have not had a problem with. I got some beauty products and stood on line for 5 minutes and still had issues. I worked at Kmart for 3.5 years. 3.5 years of my precious life wasted from ages 19-23. I gained weight, lost skin elasticity, gained cellulite and spider veins on the back of my thighs. Why? Because, working at kmart is beyond stressful. You can never do enough for the employees or your boss. And to the person who was upset that they didn't receive the merchandise that was on exhibit for a discounted price, be grateful. At the store I worked we weren't even allowed to sell the exhibits. It's the year 2015 and many stores have stupid rules which the employees have to adhere to and the customers hate. Deal with it.
It's not the employees but the corporation. Get your head out of your butt. And don't give the employees a hard time because $9.00/hour isn't enough for employees to be polite and give into your every demand so yeah a rude word or two might slip out of our mouths. I am writing this on the perspective of the employee. I worked in Kmart in a supervisory position so let's begin. First of all, if anyone out there thinking about joining the Kmart team, please don't for one. I never received any training, I had to figure out how to do things on my own or by asking other associates. Once you start - let's say you are a cashier - you have quotas to make in consumer reviews and ShopYourWay member cards. If you don't make quota, they threaten to write you up. Now I cannot speak of all the Kmart's but the one I worked at, the manager is very disrespectful to associates.
Now let's talk about Kmart products. Anyone thinking about buying jewelry from Kmart, I wouldn't. They have a 93 to 95% mark up on their jewelry - this is why you see such huge sales in jewelry. As a part of my job is to work pantry in one day I removed two full shopping carts of expired products. So would I ever shop at a Kmart - absolutely not.

I am a frequent Kmart.com shopper because I am disabled and it's difficult to leave my house. I am also a shopyourway max member because I shop on Kmart.com so frequently. Lately I've been getting emails saying I have $10 in surprise points to spend on a $60 purchase and $15 on a $45 purchase etc but these points never show up in my account. They all come in different emails with different expiration dates. I've written to shopyourway and they've only honored less than half of them. Twice they gave me the points and once they made me pay out of pocket and then credited me with points saying they couldn't refund cash.
Recently inquiring about another points email, they just flatly ignoring my emails. When I followed up the next day saying I'm still waiting for a reply, what I got was a rep outright lying to me saying the points I'm being told I have (expiring 6/3) are the ones they credit me for last time (that expired 5/28) and this is the same singular offer even though the expiration date is different and the expiration date of the last offer has already expired. This is total fraud to get me to fill up my cart with $45 of stuff thinking it will be partially paid with points only to find the points aren't there. If you email someone telling them they have rewards you can't pick and choose whether you meant it or not.

We needed a new TV. I went to Wal-Mart and purchased a Sony 24 inch on sale for 138. When I got home my husband was upset because the TV was not a Samsung so I was going to work and brought the TV with me and was going to drop it off at Wal-Mart. The return not open, so as I was coming down Broadway I saw Kmart. I thought I would come in to see if Kmart has Samsung TV 24". Well it was 6:45 in the morning and I was in a hurry to get to work at 7. So I begin looking down the TV aisle. Well they had on sale 32" Samsungs for $219, and only two left. Well I ask lady at a register if one could be held for me till 8:00 pm when I get off. She called for the supervisor, and said she had been here at Kmart a long time and could probably help me.
So a lady by the name of ** came over. I told her the situation - the story is much longer, but in a but shell ** bent over backwards to accommodate me. In the end I purchased a Samsung 32" TV for $219 as opposed to Wal-mart's Sony 23" for 138. Thank you ** and Kmart, my husband is very happy, and when my husband is happy I'm happy. ** deserves a nice raise. P.S.S. I called Wal-Mart to see if they had a Samsung, for 32 minutes I could not get them to answer, the one on Speedway. THANKS AGAIN ** AT THE KMART ON BROADWAY IN TUCSON!!!

I can't tell anything about the item I didn't get. Online Kmart is fraud. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! I ordered to pick up TODAY (which was 05/16/2015) they took my money from my account in just seconds, it's okay. After I contacted to the workers to different 2 stores to understand when approx could I pick up as it was Saturday and to go to the mentioned stores was too far from my home and I needed to manage the time and get there before the store will be closed. Why I choose those stores because before my purchase there was mentioned "PICK UP TODAY". Anyway, after several calls to 2 stores they said "its pending and usually it takes about 24 hours to pick up orders". I said "I am sorry it's a baby bedding set, which I collected from 2 different stores of KMART as because it was TODAY PICK UP!!! I am with my baby and it was so hard to go and look for the product in stores. That is the point why I ordered ONLINE!"
After an hour I called back to check again. They finally said "Your order for San Fernando Blvd, Burbank is ready to pick up". I drove there and was upset. The manager even couldn't find my order number. I called directly from Kmart to their Order Service center to cancel my order and they informed me "We are unable to find the order to cancel, it doesn't exist." After several checking the supervisor excused and repeated the same. REALLY? IS IT POSSIBLE? IS THIS REPUTABLE FOR KMART OR SEARS INC.? I was really lost? However, I called to another Vermont ave, Los Angeles store and they confirmed "WE CAN'T CANCEL IT AS IT DOESN'T EXIST".
Okay, It's enough for me!!!!! I called to my bank to dispute the case and they said they will contact to Kmart to clarify what was wrong. Just I needed to wait for the result. The next day I receive an email from KMART informing that for order accuracy they need to contact to me at 8 AM. Are those orders now available?? Maybe because my bank contacted them??? This is really horrible. I never expected the service like this and it's not reputable just because of unprofessional staff working for company like Sears Inc.

In fairness, I haven't tried to return the jewelry. BUT I've been around long enough to know what their excuse will be. "How can you prove to us that this is the same necklace that you walked out with?" So therefore, I don't feel the need to waste my time and raise my blood pressure at the same time. What happened was this: I don't normally buy my "real" jewelry from Kmart but I have to admit that their little ad campaign about the 70% off always catches my eye. I'm not stupid by any means. I know that they mark the price way up before they take the 70% off but I took a look anyway and it wasn't the first time. What I did notice about them is that they have a lot of nice "costume" jewelry. You know? Plated gold over silver, diamond chips. I do like and buy that sort of thing at times BUT when I have a little money I like to buy real gold.
So on more than one occasion, when I stopped to take a look, I noticed that they were selling plated jewelry for kinda exorbitant prices. How I knew this was, I was asking the saleswoman the gold content because I thought it was fishy that it wasn't marked anywhere. She told me it was plated but the diamonds were real. Even I knew that a karat of diamond chips on a gold plated necklace wasn't worth the price they were selling it for. Might as well buy the real thing for that price. So I had asked her if there was anything that was real and she pointed me to this little tiny section of which I found nothing that I liked. Mind you their sign says 70% off all gold jewelry, not gold plated jewelry. And they always make sure to tell you that you have a half karat of diamonds while avoiding the question of gold content unless you specifically ask them.
So now that I've been there a few times and I'm aware that they're doing this, the next few times I go there I specify what I'm looking for. "I don"t want to see your gold plated diamond jewelry. I want to see 10, 12 or 14K Only. I'm looking for a wide chain, maybe a figaro." Ok they show me a figaro from the "gold" section. It has a tag secured to it that says 10K and is marked for about $1200. I agree to buy it because its 70% off, bringing my total to over $300. My receipt even says 10K gold figaro. A few months later I try to pawn it because that's what I use my real jewelry for. I use it to get a loan when I'm broke. So having gold has always been loan collateral for me. Anyway I was shocked when my pawn broker showed me that it was fake. I went straight home and got the receipt out and was going to return it.
Being that it was gold plated, I knew it wasn't worth $100 let alone $300. But like I said before, I knew they wouldn't take credit for this mistake and I was already so mad that I knew they would just make me madder by not accepting responsibility. I don't mind buying lesser quality jewelry but it has to be my choice to buy it and I won't pay the price of gold for something that's not gold!!! I actually took it to a second place after that just to make sure and they told me the same thing. I used to love Kmart! I probably spent about 15-20 thousand dollars there every year for household items. BUT now I know to never buy jewelry from Kmart and now you know too!!!

I went out of my way to do ALL my Christmas shopping from them. All in an effort to avoid Walmart and help keep Kmart in business. As of today I will no longer shop there.
I went in to buy my son jeans. I picked up two pair that were directly under a sign that said "Adam Levine table Buy one get one free." When I checked out they of course didn't ring up BOGO. I went to the service desk. Even though they were not destructed or bleach washed which by the way were mixed in with the ones on sale and excluded they would not give me the correct price. The woman at customer service told me it was an "evil marketing tactic". It took three people (including a manager) to figure out they didn't know why it wasn't ringing up but they weren't going to fix it. Needless to say the pants were returned. Ordered a breakfast nook, took 2 hours to put together but fine since the price was reasonable. 4 pieces were broken/damaged, one being the separate bench that people have to sit on - a safety hazard. Just wanted the 4 pieces replaced. 3 were aesthetic and I could live with but the bench is important. Rep said I had to dismantle the entire thing, arrange pick up, do full return. They could open a set there and send me the parts instead of requiring me to disassemble the functional items - it's a LARGE piece and my time is valuable too. And if they sent a replacement I'd have to disassemble this one and reassemble that one - for the smallest part of the separate bench - makes no sense.
Now I have to repair a completely new item. I wont go into the fact that the billing went thru/sent to right place - but had a completely different persons name on the bill. When it's done electronically thru the order, not even sure how that could get messed up - it's not even close.

I wrote a letter to the CEO of Kmart to explain how I was mistreated and disrespect by the staff at Kmart. The letter I sent by certified mail was refuse. I have several items on layaway with Kmart and my complaint should be heard by the CEO himself. I have been a loyal customer for over thirty years with Kmart. I especially like Kmart for the year round layaway which we know Wal-Mart or Target does not offer this. I am a shopaholic and on a fixed income I spend hours online comparing prices and I must inform you how bad and rude your employees treated me.
I lived in Chicago from birth until Sept. 2009 and as an adult I shop at Kmart so much that your cashiers knew me by first name and would call and inform me of sales and even placed items in layaway for me. I moved from Chicago to Arkansas in 2009 and I made several purchases: 1 purchase in 2009, 16 purchases in 2010, 26 in 2011, 5 in 2012, 38 in 2013, 56 in 2014 and 26 in 2015 with 3 layaways to complete.
My complaint is I placed a pool in layaway on Feb 23, 2015. I later saw the same pool on sale. When I call to speak with a Kmart rep to see how I can go about getting the pool at a lower price and keeping it in layaway, I was told to closed out the layaway (** $935.74) and open (** $760.54). I also was told to do the same thing with a set of chairs (** $220.00) close and open (** $162.68). Again doing what I was told to do by Kmart no money was given back to me. It was to be transfer from one account to the another. Why was I charged a cancellation fee on both account 15 dollars each? When I notice this 30.00 dollar cancellation I call Kmart to get this corrected. I was told to go to the store and they would assist me in this manner.
Once I got to the Kmart store in Cabot, Ar. I was told to call the Online Department. I was getting the runaround and still no refund of my cancellation fee. When I called the Corp office and asked to speak with Mr. ** for his assistance I was rudely told no and the person hung up. As I stated early I sent a letter to Kmart and the letter was refused.

I was told that I would receive a confirmation email within 24-48 hrs. On the 13th, I had still had yet to receive the correct item OR the confirmation email. I called Kmart customer service again and was told that there was no record of me calling on the 7th and that I would have to pay to ship the incorrect item back in order to get a refund.
That is not what I want nor am I willing to pay for return shipping. I want the correct item that I ordered. Is that too much to ask? After speaking with two levels of management and an hour on the phone, I still was getting nowhere. I requested that the original item be sent to me first and USPS can pick up the incorrect item just as I had agreed to on the original phone call. I was told that I would receive an email within 24-48 hours and after more than 48 hours, and guess what, still no email, still no correct item. Is there such a thing as customer service any more? ALL I WANT IS THE ITEM I ORDERED! On January 17th, I received an email stating that they were "still working the issue" and to allow ANOTHER 3-5 days for a response. It's been 7 days already and you guessed it, still no response, still no correct item.
I went online again with the online chat on 1/24 and the only thing they would suggest was a refund IF I paid to ship back the item. I have called multiple times, emailed multiple times, and even online chat through Kmart.com. Why can't I just get what I ordered without a month of problems and NO ONE DOING THEIR JOB?
I'm not ordering this TV mount as a redecorating look, I purchased the TV wall mount as my children are now at the age where they can climb and I do not want an 80 lb TV falling on them. The item I ordered was specific to non-VESA TV's, which is what I have. A standard wall mount found on the shelf in just about any retailer will not work, as they are too short to reach the mounting holes on my TV. This isn't a matter of principle on getting the correct item delivered to me, but a matter of safety for my children. Send me the item I ordered.

I received NO explanation from the managers on hand, & it took several days to even obtain a refund on BOTH occasions! Much later, I was told by a former employee (Asst. Manager) it was commonplace for employees (usually on a management level) to retrieve items from layaway & return them to the shelves. Now to hear that Kmart is having essentially the SAME issues with their online orders, I am NOT surprised. Bottom line: AVOID Kmart entirely!!!

Kmart managers intentionally hide big electronics inventory so they do NOT have to honor sale prices. In fact they did it on black Friday this year by changing the numbers and locations of items listed on the Kmart computerized inventory. Once again they are false advertising. And the employees are so underpaid it should be illegal to work there. Management is also homophobic & against breastfeeding. That's all I have to say about this evil corporation other than DON'T SHOP AT KMART! Friend of a poor Kmart peon.

I place an order online on 12/19/14 and was to pick up one item same day in store and the rest of the items were supposed to be shipped to arrive on 12/22/14. Well I went to pick up my in store item on the morning of 12/20 and after standing in line for an hour and then waiting on this ignorant employee went to look for the item for over 30 minutes just to come back and tell me that the there was nothing there for me. Asked for the manager who had no help other than that I had to call in to Kmart.com for help. OMG really! So I call in to the line and was advised by a foreigner (no offense) that my order was cancelled but he did not know why. I then asked for a supervisor and he said there was not one available. He tried to tell me that I would have to wait 10 business days to get my money back. I then hung up on him and called back and got another foreign lady who says my money will be on my card within 24 hours, she thinks.
Jesus Jesus. So I call back again and demand a supervisor but again was told that there was no one available so he would have someone call me back within 2 hours. Two hours passed and nothing so then I called back and was irate. They transferred me to an American person name Jeremy who I had to explain the situation again and he says "our systems have been cancelling people's orders for no reason" and so in the Christmas spirit I am going to refund you 110% of your purchase by email gift card for $210.00." Wow really (NOT) so I again because I was scary happy but hesitant because it sounded too good to be true, I was willing to wait the 5-7 days for my credit card to be refunded.
12/21/14 no gift card in email and so back on the phone I go. This time I get transferred from the foreign line to the American line to someone name Gabrielle who reiterated that I would have to wait for my refund on items that were never even going to be sent to me and for an order that was magically cancelled. I demanded a supervisor again and this time I get this ** named Martin who says he is a manager. He basically was just told me that I have no choice but to wait and yes it was messed but there was nothing he could do.
Oh yeah and as for the email gift card that was denied. LOL because it did not fit the criteria for the gift card. So in order for my refund to be processed sooner I would have to call back with the fax # for my bank so they could fax them a request to release my funds sooner. Ok so I give Martin more pieces of my mind because by now I have spent over 5 hours on this situation. So I call my bank, Capital One, who says they can call Kmart for me and then we call back to the number Martin gave me back to the foreign line so we get transferred to Kmart Case manager line again on hold for 30 minutes.
I love Capital One. Anna stayed on the line the whole time and we finally got Isabelle, who initially could not help, and no Martin has gone home for the evening so now we have to wait on the next manager because Isabelle cannot give Capital One the authorization over the phone and says she has to fax it. WTF Kmart is really tested my patience at this point.
So we wait for 40 minutes for Isabelle to tell us it will be a few more minutes but Anna with Capital One stops her and says, "Can you give us a verbal authorization that the order is cancelled," and she did this time. Not sure why she could not from the beginning. Capital One got me square away to continue my Christmas shopping. But when I say never the hell again will I shop at Kmart that is the whole truth. Sad part is that no one could ever tell me why they cancelled my paid order in the first place, what stupidity.

My wife made an online layaway back in October for our kids Christmas. We had never been late on any of them, she had made 3 of them. So on the 9th of December she made a payment on one but never received an email confirmation that the payment had been made so she check our account. It said there was a pending transaction for the amount. So we was like check tomorrow it will be fine. How wrong we were. She checked it the next day and Kmart was still showing it needed to be paid. Well checked account and it still showed pending. She then got on chat with the customer service and the person she chatted with said it was a web error. We was paid in full to check back in 48 hours and it would be cleared up. We waited and guess what, it never changed so she chatted back in and the person told her the same thing. Account was paid in full just a web error, they would have it cleared in 24 hrs. Day came everything was the same on this order. Chatted in again and she was then told that the payment had never been made. Our bank account still showed a pending transaction for kmart. Well now the layaway is showing delinquent because they have screwed up payment on this layaway.
This evening the bank credited our account back, the money that had been a pending transaction because kmart never took the money. That is just one layaway problem. On the other 2 she made the last payment on the 12th and we thought great, Christmas is done. We get up in the 13th, she has several emails from kmart saying that several of the items are not in stock now and we will not be able to receive them. She also received emails saying the layaway had been canceled. At this point we make some phone calls and blast out a few emails ourselves to kmart. On the phone calls I am told that the entire layaway has been canceled and we would be getting a refund. I ask how I was going to get gifts for my kids because kmart has all our money tied up in these layaway. She tells me to just go to the store and buy more stuff. I ask about why these items were not pulled from shelves when order was placed. Was told that is not how layaway work (we have done online kmart layaway before, every time before that is how it was done), was told they couldn't pull the stuff before the final payment. I at this point just hung up with her. I was so furious I couldn't see straight.
Well just a few min later my wife receives email from kmart saying that only a few items on the layaways was not being shipped, everything else would. We are totally confused at this time trying to figure out what is happening. Well early Sunday morning she receives another email from kmart say that both of our layaways have been completely canceled. On Monday morning she was looking on the account and we had 3 credits on our account from kmart. The amount of money is not correct for anything, not sure where that amount is coming from. And to top it all off, this afternoon she get an email from ups saying a package was delivered to our house. Get home and we have one package with 1 shirt in it. She gets in and starts looking on ups and it is showing 3 more packages sitting in Illinois waiting to be shipped I guess. So I have no idea if we are getting anything else from them. What is going on with the past due layaway. I just want answers.

I placed an order with Kmart for a trampoline. After two days when I didn't receive no type of notification about my order I went online to check the status, only to find out the order was canceled. I called Kmart to find out what was the problem and was told by the first representative the cancellation was due to a problem with the payment. That didn't make sense because the payment was taken off my debit card by them and was in the processing stage to be sent to them. She became rude when I told her I know the problem is not the payment because I already checked my account and know the payment was processed by them and I have a screen shot from their website saying "thank you for your payment." Her attitude made my attitude worse, especially since I was already aggravated, so I asked to be transferred.
The second person I talked to also said it was the payment, BUT they would release the funds back to me immediately after a faxed document is signed and sent to my bank. This confirmed the problem definitely was not with my payment. After speaking with a third rep I was told she check the entire log for my order and the problem was NOT the payment, but instead the item was out of stock at the time I placed the order so the system automatically canceled it. What I still don't understand is why would the system allow the order to be placed and take my money if the item was out of stock?! It also gave me about 10 stores to pick it up from since it was not available for delivery and said it could be picked up as soon as the next day, just wait on email confirmation, that was never received.
The rep made a conference call to my bank to get all necessary information to send a faxed document so that I may receive a refund immediately, however after a week my bank says they never received the document so I have to continue to wait for a refund. I was offered 15% off any item sold by Sears/Kmart, however after this experience I will never shop online or inside any of their companies. 15% is not worth the hassle or headache I received over this situation.
It is holiday time and people spend their hard earned money to ensure their children, (or in my case my nieces and nephews), have a good Christmas. We trust you to provide a service and to have the feeling of being unappreciated like I don't matter is not a feeling I ever want to experience again. People can say what they want about Walmart, but all the orders I placed online at the same time I attempted to make this order have been received and the trampoline will be received by this Wednesday. Too bad I can't say the same for my refund of $95.39. Thank God I was able to pull something off without having to wait for MY MONEY!!!!

After checking the intended refund amount I noticed that it was incorrect, so I called kmart customer service, found out my ENTIRE order had been cancelled & I would receive a refund in 7 to 10 business days basically on christmas eve. I have no idea what to do now for my kids on christmas day. I'm a single mom, I don't have the income to buy new gifts while I wait for the refund to be processed. Looks like we were all duped by Kmart! I also received an email urging me to make my final layaway payment before the 14th to make sure that the order arrived before Christmas and soon after received an email stating that one of the items was not available. This morning, I received an email stating that the entire order has been cancelled. I called the customer service number and spoke with "Angel", I highly doubt that that was her real name, and she offered an apology and an investigation with a follow up in 24 hours. For some reason, I decided to go to the Kmart website and search the items that I had placed on layaway and, lo and behold, all of the items were listed and available for purchase including free shipping!!! The same exact items, not similar - THE SAME!

Same as everyone else. I got an email stating to pay by the 14th to get my items by Christmas. I paid it on the 10th. On the 11th I received an email stating 4 items weren't available. Ugh, ok. I was able to buy similar at Wal-Mart online and guaranteed before Christmas delivery, but the rest shipped. On the 12th at 3:30am an email stating all items were out of stock and my contract cancelled. Called them that early afternoon. I was told yes, out of stock and will be refunded in 14 days. WTF! This would make Christmas shopping difficult. I was very angry.
As I was at work I called in the big dogs. I called my mom. :) She was able to call them, multiple times. Then about an hr or so later she called me to tell me my items were going to ship, be an upgraded shipping at no additional charge, 10 percent off my order and my refund for the 4 items that were really out of stock refunded in 3 days. Still angry I will never shop there or Sears or any other of their companies because of this. My original order was in October. This whole thing we had to go through to get the items I paid for is ridiculous. Glad for the upgraded shipping. Items will be at my house on the 16. But will never step into their store or online again.

Just like a lot of other consumers, I foolishly put my Christmas items on lay away through Kmart online. We no longer have a Kmart store in greensboro, nc because it just recently closed in October/November. I started a lay away nov 8th for Christmas presents for my daughter. They sent me an email stating that it is recommended that I pay my lay away by dec 14th in order to receive my items by dec 24. Well I made my final payment dec 12 to ensure I get my items in a timely manner then only to receive an email hours later that my lay away has been canceled due to the item out of stock and my money has been refunded to my card.
I called the 1-800# and spoke to rep that informed me what I already knew that my lay away was canceled due to item not being in stock. First of all, that is an unacceptable answer due to the fact I made my lay away over a month ago and made my payments on time only to turn around and get my money!!! Unbelievable!! Asked to speak to a supervisor or mgr, spoke to a rep from online solutions that couldn't help but only offer an apology and advise me to contact corporate and offer 20% off my NEXT online purchase. Ummm I think NOT! She then looked online at other competitors where I can buy it from. Omg, what!
By the time I get my money back which is 3-5 business days the item probably out of stock once again or at a higher price than what I paid for. They don't offer any solution or compensation none whatsoever! This is a hot toy item for kids. The very one thing my daughter asked for Christmas since last year, I have to be inconvenienced to look for another one two weeks before Christmas when I thought I layed away my item for hold until it was paid for. Oh, here's the kicker I was advised that they only ship out items once they are paid for...well duh! I told her why offer lay away to customers to set them up like they have paid for items and they are not going to get. The same should apply if I go into a store and put it on lay away and payments I should be able to get my item. I can't deal with this company anymore. Something MUST be done. Isn't this breach of contract?

I placed an order with Kmart.com on October 28, 2014. It was everything my daughter wanted for Christmas. In order to get the items delivered to me by Christmas, I had to complete my final payment by December 14, 2014. I made my final payment a little early on Dec. 12. Approximately 8 hours after I made that payment, I received an email stating that 3 of the items I had ordered were no longer in stock and that I would be refunded within 14 days. I immediately contacted customer service as I thought there had to be a mistake. A layaway contract (from my understanding of what I agreed to) is one in which you place your order and the items are held for you until either your final payment is made or you break the contract by not paying on time/in full. A CSR "Hawkins" told me in a live chat that items are only pulled from inventory after the final payment is made, which makes no sense at all. I told him I wanted to know where in the contract I agreed to that stipulation.
After dancing around that question for nearly an hour and offering me a "similar" order with a 10% discount ("similar" item could not be explained despite direct questioning), Hawkins admitted that no, that stipulation is not in the contract everyone signed. I also declined the "similar" order and discount and just asked that the items I had already paid for be shipped to me. Once again, Hawkins went through the speech about the items being out of stock, but did tell me my other items had shipped, gave me a delivery date and a tracking number. I told Hawkins that Kmart had violated the contract and sold items out from under people who had already paid for them - or at the very least partially paid for them. I told him it was negligent and illegal and that I was filing a formal complaint, which I have, with the FTC.
This morning (12/13/14) I woke to find that Hawkins had lied through his teeth regarding my order - or canceled the entire thing out of spite. My daughter's entire Christmas list was canceled because Kmart already sold the items I ordered and paid for. I am lucky enough that I was able to find the same things on another site and re-order, but now I'm in a 14 day wait to possibly get my money back from Kmart. I posted on their Facebook page that they are scamming people and saw that they have apparently done this to several people (in the hundreds, would be my very rough estimate). Some people aren't lucky enough to be able to replace all their children's gifts while Kmart thinks about returning their money - the day after Christmas.
Some of those people are going to have to scramble to find money to buy their children a gift for Christmas. Kmart is violating its customer's trust, taking our money and doing outright illegal things by selling items that are already sold. Corporations don't get to fall back on "rules" that they make up as they go along. I sent a transcript of the live chat to my own inbox so I have the evidence that they did not have that stipulation in the contract as of 12/12/14. If they have gone back and changed the contracts now, that will also be illegal and should carry some ramifications.

I made an order of all my Christmas gifts from Kmart.com on layaway in September. We made all the payments on time and even over paid to get the gifts sooner. They sent me an Email saying to pay them off by the 14 of December. I made a payment in full on 12-12-14. I got an email stating that the order has been canceled because the items were out of stock. I called the 1800# they gave to me in the email. They told me that it was a local store issue. I told the person on the phone that it was an online order and had nothing to do with my local store. They still said that I had to take it up with them. So I called my local store and of course they had no idea what I was talking about and that I had to contact customer service. So back on the phone with the 1800# in the email. They told me that a credit that came out to be about half the total amount of my purchase would be refunded.
I got upset and explained that I had paid more than that and I demanded full credit for my items. Finally they agreed to that. I also brought up the fact that I had paid a 5.00 fee for signing on the layaway. I wanted that back as well. They told me that deposit was nonrefundable. How many people did this happen to and how much hard earned AMERICAN money has been stolen this Holiday season? Now I also have to do what I was trying not to do. Last minute shop for my poor children. Had they said something when they went out of stock I might have had time to regroup and get what I need. Not 2 weeks before Christmas and everything is all GONE. Kmart SUCKS and I will never shop again. I hope someone really looks into how much money they really have stolen this season alone and does something about it to get our money back.

I tried to call the customer service number in my emails to figure out what is going on and I get an automated system that doesn't allow me to talk to anyone and the only option for my case is to check the status of my order - which couldn't be found in the system. I am stuck waiting to see what shows up and now I will be last minute shopping. When I put in a layaway, I expect the items to go on hold. Not be sold out from under me. That's really unfair. I made every payment on time and even received an email from K-mart that if I made my last payment by Dec 14th, I was ensured to receive the TV before Christmas. Well, I made the last payment and received my final payment receipt with another email to follow that the TV is out of stock! I called the 800# I received from the email and the operator told me that I needed to call a K-mart close to my home even though I told her that it was made online. She didn't even offer to transfer me.
I proceeded to call the K-mart at the Long Beach, CA location to no avail (they had no idea what I was talking about). Then I emailed the online chat person (Rhonda) that offered me no help whatsoever. She even ended the chat before I was done typing. I guess I was NOT typing fast enough for her. After that, I called the 800 number again and spoke with someone that called around to see if there was any chance I could get a TV shipped to me but all out of stock. I did appreciate that at least she tried. Her option was to give me a refund. Well, that's not an option since it's my money! However, I feel I should be compensated with a comparable item since it's not the refund I'm concerned about. I would like my item.
Why would K-mart allow me to make payments since October on something that's out of stock? Why would K-mart email me and tell me to make one last payment to ensure shipment on something that's out of stock? It's Christmas time and I don't have the gift for my daughter that I have been paying on time for because I didn't have the money to pay in full. I'm Very disappointed in K-mart to say the least.

They went and picked out a new one, got to register and because it is no longer on sale they would have to pay additional $15. They told the clerk they would not pay it as they were just returning a broken item, so after an hour of back and forth they finally got the microwave.
Then I placed a huge order online. First box I ordered a Superman hat and got an Angry Bird hat. I said, "Why a late fee, my payments have all been early and this payment isn't even due for another 3 days." She shrugs her shoulders & says "well, I don't know what to tell you then." Really?!?
Customer service with this company is a joke! Trying to get help with an issue is near impossible & apparently they're crooks, trying to squeeze even more money out of me than what's owed. If I didn't almost have this layaway paid off I'd cancel & give another store my business. This is the last time I deal with Kmart!! It's sad to say this too; I worked for a Kmart for over 10 years & have always done business with them but no more. This has been the most irritating, ridiculous transaction ever!

I visited Kmart in Miami Florida located on 163 st. I went to the store with my mom to pay on a layaway. As we was leaving, we saw some hoodies on sale for $7. When we got to the register they rung up for $8. We told the cashier and she leaves and come back. She tells us "it's whatever the price says on the computer" (she didn't even go check the sign). When the transaction is done, I went and took a picture of the sign and I bring it to the cashier attention (By this time she is standing next to a supervisor). I show her the picture and she tells me I have to go wait in the customer service line to adjust the price. I told her it is not right to make me stand in another line when I brought it to her attention before she finished my transaction and she didn't take the time out to check the price.
The manager interrupt me and rolls her eyes and neck and say "what's the problem". She didn't address me as a customer. She tells me the hoodies are $8. Then she says "let me see the picture and the jacket" as if I don't know what I am talking about. (I have had my years of customer service in retail so I know how to read a sale sign). I show her the sign in my phone then she say "oh well you have to wait in the customer service line." Not knowing she was the supervisor, I asked to speak to the manager. She tells me "I don't know what you want the manager for" because she is the manager. I wait in line but before I do, I ask for the store manager to be paged. The store manager never comes. He was paged 3 times.
As my items are being adjusted, another employee comes over and says the hoodies are $8. Her and another employee checked. I told her if they would have done that in the first place instead of telling me "it's whatever price the register read" and if the supervisor would have addressed me properly, we wouldn't be adjusting the price. I know kmart wants to deliver the wow experience for their customers and want to keep them coming back. I would never go back to that store. I called and spoke to the store manager and all he had to say was he is sorry and I should have took down names. He didn't want to address the fact I waited almost 30 minutes for him to come address the situation. It was a horrible experience. Kmart are giving Sears a bad name. I know for a fact at Sears when there is an problem at Sears, it is taken care of immediately and professionally.

I called the company and the supervisor I talked to admitted that they made a mistake and forgot to set aside the items. So I have 3 girls who want the same doll and only have one doll now. This is the 2nd time this has happened at 2 different Kmarts! Last year we went to pickup an order that I put him as pickup person, they had the same problem and we waited 30 minutes even after giving both names! I also had a problem ordering a different item online this past week. The shop your way rewards are a joke and customer service is a bigger joke. So done with Kmart.

That store should have been one of the ones that closed down. I have never walk into a kmart store and hear the employees being treated like ** . When I walked in, I witnessed one manager almost bringing one employee to tears. I walked into the back and a other manager was yelling at another employee. This is the holidays. This is not what I want to see. Good way of bringing in the holiday cheer. They shouldn't be doing this in front of customers that would only make matters worse. They should pull the employee to the back and talk to them, not yell at them in front of everyone in the store. I will not be shopping here anymore especially during the holidays. We are very upset with the Elkton, MD Kmart. There is a black Friday ad running from Thursday to Saturday with a Kenmore washer AND dryer SET for $249.99 OR $249 each. We went to the sale FIRST thing yesterday morning at 6 am, waited in line only to get back to the washer and dryer with a store made sign saying the ad was wrong, the set is $499 with $25 off. That is absolutely wrong!!! We get up to the customer service line, they say “Well there was an ad retraction a few days ago saying the ad was wrong...” THEN IT SHOULD NOT OF PRINTED, and they should not have had people waiting in line for it.
The manager handled the situation POORLY! One, we called almost two weeks ago when the ad leaked on the internet to make sure it was correct and that manager on duty on November 16, stated that whatever the printed ad says for black Friday that is what it is, then this past Monday, November 24, we called the store again just to be sure and was told the same thing. However, the manager on duty yesterday morning had a different opinion and would NOT let us have the washer and dryer for $249.99. I think that is wrong, false advertising. That would be like Walmart or some other competitor advertising a 60" television for $250, a 100 plus people standing in line only to be told “Oh we are sorry the ad was wrong, it’s not $250. It’s $850.” And now you have 100 plus people standing in line PISSED. That alone could cause a Ferguson riot.
This is a BLACK FRIDAY ad, you should have more than one person reviewing the ads before they are printed to prevent things like this. I did not get up to go to the store for a set of washer and dryer for $500, I got up because the ad said $249. I want them for $249. I can go to Home Depot for a set, have them delivered AND Hauled away for $500. I will make a production over this because that is misleading and FALSE ADVERTISING. It’s only fair that the store give us the merchandise for what was advertised. We have the sale paper. They could have even crossed them out before distributing them yesterday morning, but they didn't.

I bought a table from Kmart on October 22nd. I paid cash at the store because they did not have the color I wanted. I was told it would be shipped to me on October 29th. A representative put in the order for me. I was never told order from a third party vendor. I called the online ordering to check the status on my order. They told me it had been delivered. However I have not received it. The lady then said she made a mistake and said that it had been delivered to UPS. I would be at my house by November 5th. So November 5th came and I called to see where my table was and I was told that it had been delivered on the 29th.
After further investigating they called UPS to see what had happened. It was a service interruption and my product has been sent back to the distributor. Neither Kmart nor UPS had informed me of this and I would have never known if I didn't call and inquire about my order. After finding out that there was a service interruption and it went back to the distributor, I then talk to Kmart asking them if they could cancel the order and ship me a new one overnight because I had waited and because of the inconvenience. I was told that they could not do that coz it was ordered from a third party vendor. They would have to get a refund from the vendor.
The problem with this whole situation is I ordered my table from Kmart. I don't care who they buy it from. As a customer I should be accommodated. Not only that it’s not my fault that it could not be delivered to my house, that's between them and UPS. I give the right address and I paid my money up front. The best they could do for me with me my money back and a refund check which I have to wait for and take the time to take it to the bank to cash it. Meanwhile it’s been 3 weeks since I ordered the table and if I would have done my business elsewhere I probably would be eating on my table (I got rid of my old table in anticipation for my new one) and nobody at Kmart seems to think that this is a problem.
Today is November 19th and I have yet to receive my refund or heard back from them. No apology. I've yet to find a representative or manager that cares. I've just been given the runaround. I am frustrated as a customer and disappointed. Nobody cares. It's 3 days shy of a month and I have yet to get through to the corporate office or my redundancies is ridiculous figuring I had no control over anything.

When it came time to scan the coupons your system wouldn't take them even though the bar codes etc. were correct on them. They were MANUFACTURER COUPONS AND COULD BE USED ANYWHERE. They stated Dollar General on them as the suggested place to use them but again they were MANUFACTURER COUPONS AND HAD A REMITTANCE TO A NORMAL CLEARINGHOUSE FOR COUPONS.
DUE TO THIS THE CASHIER ** who was very nice BTW called a manager over. On 10/19/14 I purchased 12 large bags of dry cat food, as well as dozens of cans of cat food at the Kmart in Charlottesville, VA. Upon opening the first bag of dry food yesterday, I was appalled and disgusted to find the contents to be infested with maggots. I called the store to explain the situation to the manager. Her response was a typical "canned apology". I informed her that I would be bringing the contaminated product back, and that she could expect me within an hour as I live 45 minutes away from the store. The same manager I spoke to on the phone also dealt with my return transaction. She was able to locate my receipt totaling almost $300 in cat food. She handled the product return with no issue.
What you need to know is that you have a VERY serious infestation in this location. There are live mice visible. There are rodent droppings all over the pet food department. There is dry mouse urine on the tops of the canned foods. There are maggots inside of the food bags. There is evidence of the moths and larvae all over the bagged food. You have a very big problem. I asked the manager to walk back to the pet food department with me so that I could show her how severe of an issue that she had. She obliged, and on our walk back she told me that they were aware of the issue with pests, and that Terminix is visiting that location three times per week. She also stated that they had disposed of several carts worth of food about two weeks ago, and that the shelves had been sanitized with bleach.
When we arrived at the pet food aisle, I immediately began pointing out cans & bags of food that were contaminated with mouse feces, evidence of moth webbing, and even maggots crawling on the outside of the bags. There is absolutely no way that these shelves have been emptied and cleaned. Your problem is much worse than your management representing you perceives it to be. ALL of your bagged animal food at this location needs to be disposed of. I see no way for there to be any other choice because otherwise you will be knowingly putting your customers safety at risk. This situation has not been resolved to my satisfaction. After two wasted trips to your location, I am still without cat food, and will now have to make a trip to another store - because the food at your store is not safe.

I am completely disgusted by the way Kmart runs their retail operation. I have spent 2 hours on different 2 days with their CS going around and around. 1st of all the problem starts with them taking the money out of my account, before confirming that they even have the product in stock. Neither Amazon, Walmart, or any other company I've dealt with takes the money until the item is ready to ship. 2nd I get an email telling me I cancelled my order... I DID NOT!!! So I call CS to straighten out the mess they created. I am switched from one person to another having to explain the situation over and over.
Finally I get a person who checks into everything, admits the item I wanted is no longer in stock, she offers a 10% discount for my trouble, BUT I can't reorder another item because my money is floating around in cyberspace after their refund. So I'm told just call back when the money arrives in my Paypal account, and get a rep to fix everything.
Forward to today, the money is back in my PayPal account. I call CS, go through what I wish to order, she needs to call shop your way, so I sit on hold while she does that, then she discounts the 10% and gives me my total. So now I breathe a sigh of relief, only to find out after all of this she can't let me use my PayPal account! That's where Kmart returned the money to!!!
I'm on a fixed income and barely get by, so the money PayPal took from my bank for my first order, that Kmart couldn't fulfill, has my balance under the price of the new order... BECAUSE THE MONEY WAS RETURNED TO PAYPAL BY KMART!!! So now here I sit, order ready to go, and they say can't take the PayPal where my money now is. I told the girl forget the 10%, I've had it!!! I then went to Kmart.com to go on the on-line chat for assistance. The CS there said the same thing - it is processing and it, too, hung up on me. I then Googled for a phone where I can reach a HUMAN on Kmart and got 888-346-5331. I spoke with someone there and they gave me another number, 866-562-7848, the delivery department. I spent a good 3-4 hours getting transferred back and forth where I had to repeat my complaint to no less than 4 different people before someone took ownership of non-delivery.
The manager, Jackie, at 866-562-7848 said the truck did not pick up my item that day and would re-schedule for Sunday. I told her I would call her back so I can talk to my husband and see if we are available. When I called back the same day, she said the delivery would not happen until Tuesday (today). I was very upset but agreed to the date. I asked for another number to call to complain to a manager at Kmart.com and they gave me 888-478-0595. I first spoke with Annette who said she would submit a 10% discount and waive the $15 haul-away fee as compensation for my wasted days. Before I could complete the call, the phone hung up again and I called back and spoke with Felicia. She then proceeded to tell me that, Yes, Annette has submitted the discount request, etc., etc., and all was good. So I asked her to repeat back the status as it stood at the time of the call and she repeated everything back as it should with the exception of the delivery day. She said it would be delivered Sunday, July 13th. I told her that Jackie said Tuesday, July 15th and Felicia said no, their system takes 24 hrs to update and that the furniture would arrive on Sunday.
By Sunday afternoon when the delivery, once again, did not show up, I called the delivery number and again spoke with Jackie. I love to shop at Kmart. It is very convenient to where I live in Jacksonville, FL of Normandy Blvd. When I visit your store I can find what I need without being ran over by other customers at a reasonable price and if I do have to exchange something, there is not a problem as long as I keep my receipt. I hope you keep this store open for a long time. The customer service is always very helpful and polite and ready to help when needed. Thank you for your service to our area of Jacksonville.

Here it is the 4th of July weekend and I am spending my time putting this together about KMART and a problem that started on 6/14/2014. I made a purchase with a live person for some shoes from the KMART.com website and had an absolutely horrible experience that even after 3 weeks has still not been resolved. I called in an order for 2 pair of shoes because 1 style was not available at the store and are online only. I called in for the 2 pair as they had a BOGO sale. I requested that the shoes be sent to a local store that would be convenient for me, but the following transpired. I was advised that 1 pair could be shipped to the store and the other pair had to be sent to a home or business address. I was not told that there would be a shipping charge for the 1 pair until the sale was complete. I couldn't understand why the 2 pair had to be sent to different addresses. I think KMART is desperate for any income as so many local stores have closed.
Anyway, I received an email on 6/17/2014 that my 1 pair of shoes had been received and I should come pick them up. I went to the store to get them and was told they were not there. When I looked at the email more closely, I realized that they were not sent to the store I requested but were sent to a store I will not go to. I contacted Live Chat about the problem and was advised to contact the store. I called the store as instructed to do and repeatedly the automated system put me through where the phone would just ring and ring. On one occasion when I called the store, the phone was picked up and put back on hold several times. I then called Customer Service about the problem and they also referred me to the store.
One of the people from the Customer Service team tried to call the store and they advised me that they had the same problem, but would call another local store to see if they could help, which apparently they could not or would not do. I finally filed a formal complaint with CUSTOMER RESOLUTION who advised me that if I could not get thru to the store and the store did not call me, they would be in trouble. I have been corresponding with the CUSTOMER RESOLUTION TEAM since via email and while I have always gotten email responses from this group, the problem still is not resolved.
As luck would have it I, finally got through to the store and after a VERY EXTENDED hold, I was transferred to HR who promised to return my call after she did some research. She did call me back promptly and advised that she needed to do some research and may be able to ship the shoes to my home or another location. She took my address and I thought all was resolved. Later that day, I got another call from someone else at the store and I missed that call. Here we go again, trying to get thru to the store and someone again. After numerous attempts to return the call, I got thru after an extended hold. I had a conversation with someone who identified themselves as store management. She indicated that she thought the Customer Service Lead would be able to do a refund without me coming into the store. The person she needed was off that day but she would call me back the following day to confirm this had been done.
I did get the call and was told the refund had been completed and would post in 3 to 5 days. It is now over 2 weeks later and the refund still has not posted. I again called the store and eventually got thru and was able to speak to someone who identified herself as THE STORE MANAGER. She seemed very upset over the situation and suggested that she would send me a gift card that I should get in the next few days. All of this over a refund of just over $13.00. I have spoken with a couple of people on this team who indicated that they did not understand why I was having so much difficulty with the refund and since it was such a small amount, they could take care of the problem. As I am sure you would think, this has not happened either.
On to the next problem, the pair of shoes that could not be sent to a store was sent to an office location. When they were received, they did not fit, even though the same size shoe was requested by the same manufacturer. When I called to reorder the shoes, (only because I liked the shoe), I explained what had happened with the previous order and I was told that another pair would be shipped out quickly and after they were actually shipped, the shipping charge would be reversed and I would get the same price on the new pair that were being shipped. BIG SURPRISE, the shipping charge was not credited and the sale price was not reflected.
I again started to communicate with the CUSTOMER RESOLUTION TEAM. So now I have a pair of shoes with an invoice for about $22.00 which should only be about $7.00 after the shipping refund and the price reduction to match the price of the previous pair. The local store tells me that they need to have the online dept take care of the pricing issue as they can't help. I send emails to the same person only to get email responses from different people apologizing for the problems, but the problem is not resolved. In the next few days I will be going to return everything I got. If I ever get the GIFT CARD I was promised, I will find something to spend it on, but I will never set foot into a KMART again.
Shame on you KMART. There are so many other retailers that hopefully won't treat customers like you do. I need my refunds more than KMART. If this is not the case maybe KMART should be closing all stores. This is unethical, where you charge a customer immediately for purchases and say 3 to 5 days for refunds to post. In my case we are now going on 3 weeks. I surely hope you think that you earn enough interest on my refunds due to warrant the behavior. I am sure I am not the only one with this problem. Good luck with the business, you will need it if this continues.

I was approved for $800 credit with the Whynotleaseit program. My total purchase was no more than $712. The cashier explained that I had biweekly payments of $59.30 for 5 months. My first payment was in December 2013 and the tenth payment was in April 2014. I completed that which means I had paid $593.00. I made a call in April 2014 to confirm my balance, only to find out that I was expected to make a balloon payment of $391. I told the rep that it was not possible for me to make that type of payment at that time. She told me that I could continue on with the biweekly payments. The receipt showed the balloon payment and 4 more scheduled payments of $59.30. The 4th payment comes due on 6/9/14. I was sure that I was nearly done because my receipt showed no more than $392 remaining.
I Called customer service on 6/5/14 to confirm that this would be my last payment. The rep said, "No mam" and I said, "Explain". She said that the receipt showed the next 4 payments before the next option to buy out the lease. She said $382. I could not understand how I still had that much left to pay. I had made 3 payments of $59.30 since they told me I had $392 left to pay. What? She said that every $59.30 I paid after the balloon payment of $392 only removes $4 from the balance. Unreal! The rep says if I don't want to continue the lease, the merchandise can be recovered by Whynotleaseit and it depends on the condition of the merchandise as to whether they will stop drafting my account. Really, after I have paid $770.90. This is unreal. I could really use some legal advice in this matter.

I am very unhappy Kmart's quality of customer service. On 5/8/14, Kmart cancelled my online order totaling $173.55. After several (three emails, one chat session, three phone calls to the corporate number and speaking with two actual associates from the local store) frustrating communication attempts, I was told I would receive a refund within 14 business days (which is an absurd amount of time for a retail refund!). It has now been 21 days (14 business days) and I have not received a refund. I contacted Kmart chat again and spoke with "Serto" who stated I would receive my refund in 3 to 5 more business days.
I have discovered that customer service for Kmart is almost non-existent and that they will hold $173 for as long as they please. I have never been so frustrated with a company and will not be shopping with Kmart or Sears from now on. It is such a shame because I always appreciated the great value of Kmart/Sears. I refuse to be strung along while a corporation holds my money and keeps extending their terms with little regard for my hard-earned dollars. I went in to Kmart for a layaway on a 65 inch brand new tv at the end of January. My initial payment on a 12 week layaway was 126.38, so I paid $150.2. Weeks later on payday, I went and paid another $126.38, then 2 weeks later I paid another $126.38. Now I work for Schwans Home Services and get paid bi-weekly, but this week my check was little smaller with the bad weather we have been having, so 90% of my check went to bills.... So, I went to Kmart to tell them that I wouldn't be able to put anything down this week till next Fri .
Now my issue.....I spoke to 3 different people and received 3 very different answers....1st person was front of house manager, who said we give a 10-day grace period.....Wrong!!!! They don't. After hearing this, I wanted to go back and find out for sure before leaving store. 2nd Person I talked to was a 70 yr old man with a bad attitude, after minutes of trying to get him to understand what I was saying, he said I could pay whatever I want when I want as long as I paid it off by end of April......WRONG!!! That is not at all correct in any way. Then I went straight to layaway and the lady there said the templates would be taken off layaway if my payment wasn't made. So I cancelled it right then and there because I couldn't make the payment.....
Now let me get this straight.... They call it a layaway plan but treat you like your a rental or a lease... This is a scam!!!!! Do not put anything on layaway if you cant pay for it like a lease agreement..... They scam you out of fees and without any notice put your product back on shelves......Trust me when I say go to Walmart or Best Buy..... The Sayre Pa K-mart is by far the worst I have ever seen...They have degenerates working and running the store who has no clue of customer service. They walk away mid sentence while your trying to explain the situation and make you feel like your not even there.... If I had owned that store, I would've fired 3 managers right on the spot.....

On January 15, 2014 I ordered patio furniture (order #) at Kmart/Sears online. After the initial delivery on January 30, 2014 was cancelled due to a snow storm in Atlanta, my order arrived on February 2, 2014, with two damaged items. I called customer service that same evening to report the problem, to initiate a return and pick-up of the damaged goods and to order their replacement.
Since the Kmart/Sears customer service representative was unable to perform the transaction on her side, we agreed that I should order the replacement online myself and she would waive the delivery fee. While the representative stood by, I reordered online (order #). Unfortunately, the representative was neither able to process the refund nor was she able to schedule delivery for the replacement order and the simultaneous pick-up of the damaged goods. We parted with the agreement that she would take care of all those issues straight away and follow-up with me promptly. I never heard back from her and my ordeal started.
My ordeal has now been going on for almost one month and is still present. Today, I took time off from work to be present for the delivery of my goods after I received a telephone confirmation of a delivery window for today only to wait in vain without any notification of cancellation. I have been spending almost a month of hours and days on the telephone and online with Kmart/Sears customer service, whose employees seem not to be adequately trained, disorganized and either not understanding the issue or not willing to understand it. Many of the outsourced customer service representatives, even though full of apologies, have not been able or willing to assist me in this very unsatisfactory matter, and it seems that nothing will be done to resolve it unless I take more serious steps.
I am appalled by the Sears/Kmart modus operandi of treating the customer in such a terrible manner which borders on mockery. Not only have I spend an enormous amount of my time which translates directly in a loss of income but I also gave the company an interest free loan considering that their damaged goods have not been retrieved and therefore my refund not issued and that they cashed my payment long time ago for goods that have not been delivered yet. I find that fraudulent and unacceptable.

I ordered a dining table set from Kmart Online. This was my first mistake. After two months, two of the chairs broke. I called Kmart Customer Service and was told to bring in the page from the computer that had the order number and the item number to my local Kmart Store and everything was taken care of and I would at that time receive a refund. Of course, I didn't keep the box and the packing material. Who would have thought it would have to be returned. Dumb me. Well, I spent three hours at our local Kmart store. They were wonderful and did everything they could to fix the problem. To no avail.
I took it all apart. Every bolt, screw, washer. The table was 4' by 3' so, of course, I didn't just have a box laying around to put it in. I had all the parts, minus the table, in trash bags. I was told by the online customer representative that I had to find a box to put it in (there aren't any to be found anywhere in the area) and send it back by UPS. I called the online Customer Support Service and told them this. They did not care. All the lady would say that I would just have to keep looking and find a box that they could not send me one.
I have to give credit to Ms. Via at UPS. She made a box for it. She was wonderful and went above and beyond what I could have anticipated. Now I am supposed to wait 48 to 72 hours to receive a label to place on the box to return it by UPS. How can it take up to 72 hours to send out an email. The postal service is faster than that. After getting some of my orders I checked my orders that still were not here on my orders page and noticed that they said they delivered 7 of the inflatables that I had not received at a cost of over 500.00. So I called and told them about the situation and they gave me the same copy and paste response they always do that they will check with UPS and all that. I have had this happen before and after they send it to UPS and they do their check. If UPS does not find the item they do not refund you your money. All they do when you call is start the process over again until you give up and they keep your money like they did the last time.
After I went through the process 3 times, but this time I said I wanted my refund now and that I don't want to wait for UPS. But true to Kmart form they said it would take 8 to 10 business days for me to wait to see if UPS can find my items. In the meantime they have over 500.00 of my money and refuse to give me a refund. This company has to be stopped. I tried the BBB the last time and they were no help. This company needs to be investigated for their business practices and the way they steal money from their customers.
We have no way of making them be held accountable for their actions. I am not a rich person and 500.00 is a lot of money for me. I was just looking to make a few bucks reselling the items, but now am stuck between a rock and a hard place because of this. Kmart absolutely does not care about you and could care less about resolving a problem they caused. I know they are going to do the same thing they did last time and try to steal my money again. It was 230.00 last time. So now they will have 750.00 of my money now without receiving anything for it. I don't know what to do. Then each of the MEN, one at a time start shaking their hips to make bells ring to a popular Christmas Song. We were offended! The commercial seamed very sleazy and degrading to the Men preforming as well as us the consumers TO BE SUBJECTED TO WATCH! Kmarts in our area have been CLOSING due to lack of business and I would say poor marketing skills. The ad comes on many different times in the day and I do not want my family seeing this. Keep it up and more people will want to take their business elsewhere. Kmart used to be in every city but with this who knows.

While I appreciate the humor in the latest TV commercial on boxers as an adult, I don't appreciate that my sons, ages 8 and 11, are viewing this also while watching, "It's A Wonderful Life" every commercial break (or at all). It is hard enough to raise boys with good morals while teaching them what is appropriate behavior in this day and age. Please do not help make it harder on us moms and dads. I am alarmed (and aggravated that now I have more work on having to shut down another potential behavior concern with my boys) that something that is PG is on television for all ages to see.

I went online and saw an electric scooter for $139.99, so I selected Pick up at store prior to ordering. The only store available for pick up among the zip codes I put in were in Louisiana, and I live in Alabama. This was no problem, because my family lives in Louisiana and would be visiting for Christmas; therefore I called the 866-KMART-4U number and had the associate place the order so my sister can pick it up in Louisiana. She selected pay at store for the payment method. The online site showed available for pick up and so did the KMART online agent system.
I wired the money to my sister, which ran me about $12 only for her to get to the store and the item was not available at the store; after she received the email, YOUR ITEM IS READY FOR PICK UP. Now my money was in Louisiana and I was out of wire fees. How could the site show available for store pick up and showing the store, we receive the email that it's ready - AND IT'S NOT AVAILABLE AT THE STORE? The manager said it was a clearance item and no longer available. It was not a clearance item, because it was a scooter that TOYS R US HAD FOR $279 in store and $199 online. UGH.

Kmart has extremely suggestive television commercials which they intentionally air during the dinner meal, either immediately prior to, during or subsequent to. These commercials depict men in boxer shorts and jock cups shaking their extremities in a vulgar and demeaning fashion neither Christmas oriented or family friendly for young school age children to view. This lack of consideration for family welfare surely doesn't represent the goal of Kmart to excel as a family store. Our children see this distasteful display on television, go with their family to shop at the neighborhood Kmart, and assume the actions they've viewed are acceptable. If the children replicate these actions at school, it could very easily result in disciplinary action. Surly Kmart understands these consequences after the nationally publicized news of a 6 year old kissing a schoolmate on her hand and receiving a sex-related reprimand, which was fortunately later reduced to a lesser rule infraction.
Our children are subjected to far too much sexually oriented material these days to have, until now, a seemingly well respected retailer pour salt in the wound. Please rethink your actions before similar children are placed in an even worse predicament than the kiss on the hand case noted herein. You could wind up a co-defendant in a child sexual assault proceeding. A concerned grandfather and past Kmart shopper.

I tried to purchase a Mach X-treme tablet, which was a Thanksgiving Day Sale at Kmart for $39.99, online on Thanksgiving Day. I made my purchase with pick-up at my local Kmart store. Within several hours of this purchase I received an email stating that I had cancelled my order. I contacted the Kmart Chat whom told me that this item was no longer available at that location and Kmart had indeed cancelled the order. With the help of Kmart Chat I made a second transaction to purchase this item. I was going to have to travel quite a bit further to pick-up this item but went ahead with it anyways because it was a gift for my daughter.
Several hours later I received another email stating that I had cancelled my order. I then sent an email to Customer Service via the Kmart website and received a response on November 29th stating that I would be able to purchase this item within the week for the sale price and they were very sorry for the earlier problems. I have contacted the customer service via email three times, Kmart chat twice, and called twice to obtain this product to no avail. This is disgusting and uncalled for. You have guaranteed a product to a loyal Kmart customer of almost 20 years and failed to maintain what you have indicated you would.

One star is too much. I used the online layaway at Kmart. I think using their layaway is a mistake but doing it online is that mistake times 100. I was unable to change my address during the time I had my layaway contract. I was not able to pick up my microwave from the store. Customer Service suggested I could cancel my layaway, pay the fee then I could sign up again and use my new address for that contract. What! I used layaway online because I do most of my shopping online. This is my very first layaway experience. GUESS WHAT! It is my last with KMART....
I was preparing to set up my apartment. I needed a microwave. I didn't have the cash. LAYAWAY the answer. So I entered into a contract online. I didn't have my new address at the time. No problem, I will change it when I get it. Now for the rules. I could only pay for my layaway online not on the phone, not in the store. Okay, I know how to do that. Oh, they never set me up online so I had to spend time on the phone while customer service for Kmart layaway set up my account. Now there are specific dates payments have to be made or your account will be cancelled. I paid my final payment online; my contract said to pick up merchandise in the store. Perfect... No that isn't the case at all, it has to be delivered to my wrong address because they don't allow you to change your address. After the last payment you have to wait for confirmation and they send an email with the shipment date. I have waited over two weeks for any type of email. All customer service can tell me is they can't do anything until I get my email. WHAT!!!!
So I sit here without a confirmation email and without my microwave. Right now I just need to vent, I am so angry. I hope it doesn't have to go any further. I will now continue to call everyday until I get my microwave. Just a positive about Walmart: A friend used layaway at Walmart no specific payment dates just had to be paid by a certain date. He paid it ahead of the date, went to pick it up at Walmart, although there was a line the process was quick. Their system was implemented to perfection. In and out. Thank you '"Walmart."

I have been apart of your Kmart/Sears loyalty program since August 21, 2013. That date is also a date that I set forth and preordered a PlayStation 4 from your online site, Kmart.com. Once inputting all of my personal information as well as my credit card info, I was advised that my order was complete and that I would be charged on the release of the PlayStation 4, which was 11/15/13. The order number I was provided with is **.
I thought all was fine and well, and even a month later or so, I had a chat with one of your company's representatives via the online chat, who advised me the same. Fast forward to 11/13/13, I wake up around 5:50 am, Monday through Friday, and I often check my bank account. You know to see what cleared, and what's pending on my account. On the card that I provided Kmart.com with, I noticed a $421.99 charge pending, from whom you ask. Yes, Kmart.com. At first I was a little startled, because I thought I wouldn't be charged until 11/15/13, in which I was advised when I first made the purchase, as well as by the online representative I spoke with via online chat. Nevertheless, I didn't think anything of it, I was actually a little excited, because I knew the release was approaching, and the purchase was becoming surreal for me.
Next thing I usually do daily, is check my various email accounts, and on this very email account that I am messaging you from now, I got an email from Kmart.com. Inside of this email, I was advised that my order was cancelled. Not only was I saddened by this, but also I was extremely confused because, as I just mentioned I had a pending charge from Kmart.com on my bank account. I then immediate called Kmart.com at 1.877.235.9959 early, around 6:15 am, and I was advised that this was some sort of error. The gentleman I spoke with advised me that there was an issue that Kmart.com was aware of, and that Kmart.com technical team was working on, and trying to fix this error. He then advised me that he would put a ticket into the system for me, and have someone from the tech team contact me via email, within 2 hours. I said fine, thanks, and patiently awaited this email.
After not hearing anything for several hours, I then called back to the number I dialed initially, 1.877.235.9959 (which by this time it was 12 noon) and got another young man to assist me. He however, didn't advise me that there was any type of error that he knew of, and that it appeared to him that my order was indeed cancelled. He stated, "That it was messed up, and that I did everything right, and that he has no idea why my order was cancelled". His only resolution (besides, that's messed up, and I'm sorry sir) for this issue was to call another number and voice a complaint, because this whole transaction and my order being cancelled wasn't fair to me, the customer.
I then called the number he provided me, which was 1.800.549.4505, option 5 at approximately, 5:05 pm. I got a young woman by the name of Jenny on the line, and I explained what was going on, and asked her again why was my order cancelled. She stated that she didn't know, apologized again, and said she would call over to the online team, and get some answers for me. I patiently waited for her to comeback on the line, which took about 5-7 minutes, and she stated that the online side was down, and that she couldn't provide me with any information, she apologized again, gave me a case number and asked that I call back in a hour.
I didn't however wait a hour, I called back about 40 minutes later and got a young woman again, by the name of Angel. Now she was very professional, apologized to me for all of my issues, used her active listening skills and seemed 100 percent genuine. She stated that it wasn't right for me to be pre-authorized for the amount, just for my order to be cancelled, and stated that she would get me escalated up, and try and figure something out. She placed me on hold, and then contacted the online side of operations, and I got on the line a young man, by the name of Joseph or Jonathan, honestly I can't recall. He stated, and read directly from an email that he said he just received, that "256 customers got the email in error, and that it would be fixed within 24 hours," and that I would get another email. He advised me not to worry, and that I would be taken care of. So I hung up, feeling relaxed and patiently awaited my email. This is all what happened on 11/13/13.
After 24 hours came and went, I then called back to Kmart.com, and got another woman, who wasn't the best person to speak with, due to her unconcerned voice tone, and lack of comprehension. She then got me escalated to another woman named Cynthia who was extremely unsure of herself, and you could tell. She was flustered throughout the call, not by anything I said or did however, and placed me on hold several times. Once off hold, I explained to her that I did everything right and that none of this was my fault. I explained to her that I pre-ordered this console, so I wouldn't have to stand in line for hours to receive this item come 11/15/13. I also explained to her how I was screwed now by Kmart.com because not only am I not getting my pre-order console anymore, but now I can't even go stand in line, with the rest of the crazies because my money was tied up in a pre-authorization from Kmart.com.
I then asked her did she see that as being fair, she said no, and said, "Let me place you on a brief hold while I try and figure something out." What this something was, I don't know, but I said okay. Now by this time it's 7:30 pm on 11/14/13, and she placed me on hold, I kid you not, for a solid 25 minutes. I had time to go inside to Hy-Vee make some purchases, walk back to my car and drive home. Once inside my house, I set the phone down, and put it on speakerphone, and I was shortly disconnected. The hold I was placed on exceeded 30 minutes easy, please check her hold times that day, I'm sure you'll see them rather high.
I then called back about 30 minutes later, and by this time I am upset, frustrated, and I only want to speak to a manager. I then was escalated up to a Marie or Maria, I can't recall her name, but she was everything but delightful to speak to. She started the conversation with a tone of, "This is what happens when you pre-order things, and unfortunately sir, there's nothing we can do about it." Mind you, I haven't really even said anything; she just leads in the conversation with those statements. I asked her about the pre-auth, and why I was charged, in which she said she didn't know, but it was just a pre-auth and it would fall off within 24-48 hours, or 3-5 days.
First, what kind of time frame is that "24-48 hours or 3-5 days"? How about we just lead with 5 days at the longest? I asked her how did she find this fair to treat customers this way, and to tie their money up like this. She stated, "This happens every year sir." I said, "This happens every year. Moreover, your company hasn't figured out a better way to conduct business," she said, "No". She then stated that I could call my bank with her on the line, and we/she would advise them to release the charges. I then asked her "Whose bank is open at 8:00 pm," and she responded with, "Mines is, it's open 24 hours a day, I can just call them up." Which is a great way to calm down an angry customer, I'm sure her learning facilitator would be extremely proud of her training, with that response.
After that statement, I became upset, and demanded her manager. She advised me that she was the highest I could go up on the phones, and that there are no other managers. After going round and round with her, I finally was placed on hold, which by the way wasn't hold, because there was no hold music. Which at this point, I was extremely familiar with, since I had been placed on hold so many times before. But instead I was placed on mute while she did whatever she did, which I know placing customers on mute cannot be a part of procedures. She then came back off mute, and I asked her why she'd put me on mute. She stated that she needed to place me on hold, and that the mute was the best thing for her to do. Which I know is not the truth, but at this point, whatever. She then stated that she would get me to her manager, who she stated 10 minutes prior in the phone call didn't exist.
I was then transferred up to her manager, named Cassandra. Cassandra pretended to listen to me, by placing me on mute once again, as I explained the situation. How do I know I was on mute, you ask? Because the whole time I was talking, I was taking small pauses in my story to try to articulate to her, everything from the beginning to that point accurately. While I was taking these pauses normally, if someone is actively listening to you, you will hear verbal nods, like "Okay, umm-hmm, yes, continue", or everyone's favorite "I definitely understand". However, not with Cassie, she let me vent, and once I was finished an awkward 4-5 second silence was present. I mean it was so long, that I had to say "Hello," because I thought I might have been disconnected. She then jumped into the conversation, bring all of her background noise with her, that wasn't present the whole time I was speaking, which confirmed another mute being used which is not procedural.
After realizing this, and her half hearted effort of listening wasn't even done correctly, I asked for her manager, and she then again stated that she was the highest up I could go, and that I would have to contact corporate for further information. Again, I informed her, "That's what the last person said, and then I got you. Now please let me speak to your manager," and she stated "No", and that "I would never get any type of compensation for this," and that all she had to offer was a apology.
Now she could have been telling the truth, but how can you expect a customer, who's been getting lied to, and or misled (whichever one makes you feel better) habitually to believe her. I was lied to about when I would be charged, I was lied to about my order being cancelled, I was lied to about it being a mistake, and that I would still receive my PlayStation 4. I was lied to about Marie or Maria being the most senior representative at the company, that I could speak to. I mean every time I turned around, I was lied to, and guess what, as of 11/19/13 my bank account still has a pending charge of $421.99, with no PlayStation 4 and no way of going to try and purchase one from another vendor.
Instead, I was misled, lied to, and crippled by your company and now all I can do is sit here, and wait for my money to be replaced into my account. 3-5 days has come and went, ladies and gentleman, and I still don't have my money back, and my bank advised me that there was nothing they could do, to contact Kmart.com. Which Kmart.com made it clear that there's nothing that they can do, and to call my bank. What a never-ending story minus the giant white flying dog. To say I am disappointed would be a tremendous understatement, and to say that I would ever shop and/or recommend Sears/Kmart to anyone I know would be even more of a lie than Kmart has put me through these last 5 days. Thanks Kmart.com/Sears, leaders in poor customer service, and horrible procedural skills.

On October 14, 2013 I placed an online order for a winter jacket via Kmart Layaway. I had planned to pay it off before it got too cold outside. On October 25, 2013 I paid my second payment. Later that day I figured I had the money at that point and I might as well pay it off (as winter seemed like it planned on coming early this year). I went ahead and paid off the 39.10 I owed. However, the last payment showed up in my Kmart account and is still (even today) "processing"... but it never applied to my layaway. Both payments made on that day were taken out of my bank account (Kmart was quick to do that, but slow about everything else).
After about a week I contacted customer service via online chat. The rep kept trying to tell me I owed another payment, so I basically had to lay out all the math for him. After that he checked again and saw I was right. He said that it was due to a web error and gave me a reference number, and that I should call back in 48 to 72 hours. I called back and the reference number did not exist! I had to re-explain the situation. Again I was told it would be another 3 days. I waited again.
When I called I was so fed up (because by this point it had been 2 weeks since I paid it off!). I told the rep I had given them more than enough time, and I just want my money back. So then I was told that's fine, but I have to kick this up to our research department and that'll take 5 to 7 business days. I purchased a new TV in November 2012 from Kmart online for pick up in the store. First problem was being able to pick up my TV and Blu-ray. Online said "available for pick up in store", yet it took 2 days to be able to actually get it done.
Now on to my current issue... Smart Plan. On the above listed purchase, I went with the Smart Plan on both items, figured better to be safe than sorry... Well, I am now very sorry! The television stopped working. It will turn on for a few seconds, no picture and then shut itself off. I call to report this, knowing I have the "smart plan" and get transferred 4 times within the call, which took almost an hour and a half. Only to get told "here is your case number, please email a copy of your original receipt and you will be contacted in 5-7 business days and I will have to take it to a drop off place (which is 2 hrs away from my home)". I finally get a call from them and when I call back on the weekend, I only get a closed message. So I wait and call back in the evening the following week. I find out your product is currently under mfg warranty and your "smart plan" will kick in in about 11 days. If I take it in now, the mfg will only "try" to fix it, but if I wait 11 days, call back in and arrange to take it back to a store, I will then be given a "gift card" in the amount of the original purchase.
So, do "Smart Plans" actually exist within this company? Here I am without a TV for close to a month and still no real resolve. In my opinion, these "smart plans" don't exist. If they did actually exist, I should be sitting here watching a television that was fixed or replaced.
We go out on a limb and purchase these protection plans to be safe. In the past, I've always believed I didn't need these, so I've always passed. This purchase, however, my first HD flat screen, I figured... it's not that much more, I'll purchase it. WOW, I'm so glad I did only to find out it pretty much means NOTHING to have purchased what we think would be protection for my type of instance.
Needless to say, I'm HIGHLY disappointed in Sears/Kmart. I've shopped in these stores for many years. I've always preferred them to Wal-Mart, but now I'm really having to think twice about that choice. Needless to say, in my opinion, NO ONE SHOULD EVER PURCHASE ANY TYPE OF ELECTRONICS, FURNITURE, HECK... ANYTHING FROM THESE STORES AND DEFINITELY NEVER PURCHASE A SMART PLAN (as they don't mean anything to these companies). So, I have to continue to wait for another week plus, but that gift card will not be used for a new television from these stores. I shall purchase that elsewhere.

On 10/22/13 I contacted K-Mart because I did not receive the bed nor did I receive any information from them telling me of a delay. I received a very nice email on 10/22/13 apologizing for the inconvenience and that there was a delay with the vendor and that it was being researched and I would hear from them in the near future. I was ok with this as I know situations arise but felt that K-Mart was on it and I would have answers shortly. I could never have been more wrong! I had to make several follow up calls to find out that the shipment was "lost." But they couldn't reimburse me until they were able to locate the shipment. Every phone call ended with a promise that I would receive an update via email. These emails never came.
My last conversation was last week where K-Mart verified that the bed never shipped from the vendor (this took a month??) and that I would have to wait for a check to be mailed to me since I played by debit card. No one could tell me when this would happen. Since this was a gift I ended up finding the same bed on Wal-Mart.com for $100 cheaper and will have in less than a week. While I am happy with the service I received from Wal-Mart I have now spent over $500 for one bed because K-Mart won't rush my reimbursement. This is a major struggle with the holidays approaching.

The Kmart system auto-populated the city name when my zip code was entered but the city was wrong and I did not catch it. Before the packaged shipped called the error out but Kmart told me, to fix it they wouldn't cancel the order and start over but I would have to pay them $20 for the cancellation. After explaining to them that it was an error in the system, they said, "Yes, we see this now and when you get your shipping notice, call us up then and we'll fix it." I get the shipping notes and call them back. They then proceed to tell me I should call UPS and have them fix it. I call UPS and they state Kmart locks the ship to address and that Kmart has to call them to approve the change.
Called Kmart back and they say, "Our systems are being updated. Can you call at another time?" So, in short, they took my money, shipped it to a wrong city (good zip code though). I asked for a refund since it didn't get it on the latest call and they said they need to find the package before they'll give a refund. Some lucky person gets my stuff for free and Kmart wants to find them first before fixing the mistake?? FOLKS, THIS IS WHY KMART AND SEARS WILL BE OUT OF BUSINESS SOON. Do you agree?

On May 27, 2013, I made an Online layaway. I paid it off about two weeks early. The second week in July. I needed the merchandise for my son's graduation party! The merchandise was shipped through UPS. After a few days, the merchandise was sent to a UPS location 30 minutes from my house. UPS returned the merchandise back to Kmart because they claim they could not find my address! I don't understand how that could be because I shop online all the time.
When I called Kmart, they stated they could not send the merchandise back to me. They said they would have to refund my card! (The refund amount is $232.98.) That was back on the third week of July. They had also stated that it would take 5 to 7 day. August came and my refund was not refunded back on my card. I called Kmart back about the third of August and they apologized taking so long to refund me. I asked to speak to a manager, and after about 25 minutes of being on hold, she couldn't do anything for me, but offered me 10% off on an online purchase?? She told me I should see my refund back on my card in 7 days.
On August 30, 2013, I called Kmart back because I still haven't received my refund! Once again I got the runaround! Now I have to wait for an email. I really don't understand why it's going on two months and I have had my money refund back on my Master Card! This was a layaway I made online. My contract # is **. I'm so upset I just canceled a $436.00 layaway that I made in the store in East Brunswick NJ. I feel that 10% is nothing for the headache I'd be going through to get MY MONEY!!!! I'm a loyal customer and I even have their credit card. But after this, I will be taking my business somewhere else!

My husband was wrongfully terminated due to a computer error. After he had finished his shift, he picked up a few items to bring home as he always did, and as usual, he gave his rewards card to get points on the purchases. At which point the cashier told him that he earned a free $20 gift card with his points but for some reason the computer would not let the cashier activate it. So she called the manager who overrode the computer with her card and then gave my husband the gift card and he went on his way. 2 days later he came in to work and was told by other employees that apparently the computers glitched that night and that it was spitting out $20 gift cards to anyone and that the cashier and some of the other employees took advantage of it and were collecting hundreds of dollars worth in gift cards.
A week later my husband was called into manager's office and was asked if he had received a gift card. He replied, "Yes, I got one." He was then asked what he did with it, and he said, "Nothing, it's still here in my wallet." The manager asked for it back, then proceed to tell my husband that he had to let him go because of this incident and that he didn't want to let him go but that it was corporate making him do it. He also asked my husband to sign a document saying he failed to protect store merchandise. Everyone who worked that night was fired but the manager that worked that night. My husband was refused unemployment and employment due to this error.

Worst supermarket in America. Everything is highly overpriced, poor customer service. The only good thing about it is there are no lines at registers as there are barely any people shopping. But the points system is designed to waste people's time at the register. I signed up for those points but the sales person who took my information and opened an account for me, didn't bother to explain how to use them. She just entered my information in the computer and never gave me an awards card, which they ask me for every time I shop at that store. But eventually I found out from another sales person how the points work so today I decided to use them while purchasing a bottle of water. A sales person largely ignored me at first while her station was open but she was engaged in another activity at a customer service desk.
When I finally got her attention she got back to her register station with a clear attitude about it. I asked her if I could use my points to buy a bottle of water because I want to see how it works. She asked for my phone number and open my account on her computer. Then she asked for my PIN number and I do not remember any PIN number, so she just charged me full price for the water and didn't bother to try help me recover that PIN number. So what was the point of wasting my time at the register with my previous purchases when they were asking for my phone number and so on when after all I can't even use those points? Even if there was a PIN number for my account I simply forgot it because I never used it since I set up that account. I can't hold in my memory all those PINs to all the accounts I have. And I am sure I am not the only one who doesn't remember things like that. This whole points system is made so complicated on purpose to give people empty promises and rip them off their money. I will never shop at that store again.

For years, I've supported Kmart as opposed to purchasing at W-Mart. But Kmart is always skimpy on inventory and they seem to be out of things. The other day, I bought pretty red catapult sneakers on sale for $19.99. Upon wearing them, they are a bit too small so I went to purchase the next size up. They had jacked the price up $15.00 to $34.99. I asked customer service if I could buy this other pair for the price I paid a few days ago and they said no (didn't want to return or exchange). They were running that stupid BO-GO deal and when you do the math, it amounts to the regular price anyway. Many shoe purchases I pass up because I don't want 2 pair of shoes and I don't like the marketing ploy of coercion. Thank you for the space to rant. Their marketing is off.

My daughter and I went to purchase my grandson some clothes for his birthday and the sign above the clothes said half off in big letters. We did not notice in small letters sale on shirts. When I checked out, the young man charged me $25.99 for the blue jeans. I was under the impression that the pants were half price. They were not. The lady was rude to my daughter. When my daughter took the employee to where the pants were hanging, the employee said, "If you had read the sign, you would have seen what it said!" Very tacky. I think it is a scam to sell the clothes by the way it is set up. Because some people will not go back and get a refund, so they pay full price.
I feel it is a scam to sell the items. I put 5 layaways a year at the Kmart in Lufkin, Texas but I will not ever again. I will spend my money at Walmart. So don't hang up clothes under a sign that says half price if they are not on sale. It is a gimmick to sell the clothes! Is Kmart that desperate to sell items that they are cheating customers!? And the employee that reflows the clothes in each department is so rude that I can't explain why every time I go by her to look at the clothes she is working on, she actually starts throwing clothes up on the top rack and doesn't hide the fact that she has lost her temper because are even looking at the clothes. I am very disgusted. I will not spend hundreds of dollars in the Lufkin, Texas stores again until these matters are fixed which I am sure they won't be.

I went shopping with my son who is 11 and he wanted to go back to the sporting goods section. As we walked back there, we saw a large sized poster of this year's SI model, Kate Upton, in all her glory. Even my son was taken aback. I understand these magazines are available to the public and I understand posters are available to purchase; however, like it or not showing that much skin is nothing more than soft porn especially when done in a seductive way. Kmart should be a safe place to shop with my kids without them having to be exposed to that. If people want to buy it, it can be behind a counter or somewhere other than large sized in the middle of the walkway.
I complained to the female supervisor who was in agreement and she went to talk with the male manager who rudely blew my concerns off saying 'It's Sports Illustrated in the Sports section!" I don't care what the name of the magazine is. It's inappropriate for children to be exposed to and also it's frankly insulting to respectable women who are back there trying to buy things for themselves for various sports. Not all women appreciate being knocked down to nothing more than a sex object and many of us take our sports very seriously. I know many other parents who agree and I do plan to do whatever I have to do to see to it that this giant poster of this girl is placed somewhere a little less out in the open.

I bought 2 throw blankets with a picture of a wolf one week apart in January 2013. One was for myself and one is going to be a gift for Father's Day 2013 (maybe). I opened my blanket and just washed it for the very first time 2 days ago. The piping along the edge of the blanket unraveled and is hanging off the blanket. I arrived at the store at 2:10pm today, 5/19/13. I brought the blanket back to the Bohemia store willing to take an exchange but they were all sold out of the blankets. I asked for a refund but I was informed by the cashier that she had to get the manager because it was over the 90 days.
The manager ** informed me that there was nothing they could do even though I had the receipt, and no exchange was possible since they did not have the blanket anymore. I was not even offered a store credit. I asked her for someone above her that I can speak to and she stated that there was no other person in the store that I could talk to. I can call the Kmart Corp at 1-866-KMart 4U. I dialed the number as I was walking out of the store at approximately 2:25pm. My call was answered by a woman who took some information. I was on hold for 10 minutes, then a man got on the phone. He proceeded to ask me questions such as what was the problem, my name address, phone number, credit card number, date of purchase, how much I paid, receipt number, item number to just name a few.
I was on the phone for approximately 25 minutes only to be told that there was nothing he can do. He could not find the item number or the credit card transaction, and he cannot see the item so he cannot make a determination. He offered to call the store manager to have her take a look at it. I said I was just there. She saw it and did nothing. I asked for a person higher than him to send an email with photos of the blanket that is still in the original wrapping and the one that is ruined and he said there is no one else to talk to above him. After seeing an advertised sale in a local Kmart Sunday flier, my husband and I went to our local store (Kmart, Bohemia, Long Island, NY) on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, in order to purchase a gazebo which was on sale. Once there, we found the floor model which was clearly marked with the sale price. After finally finding a sale associate, we were informed that they had no more in stock (Amazingly, there were plenty of the more expensive gazebos in stock). When asked when they were expecting to get more in stock, we were told that they had no plans on restocking, which meant that we couldn't even get a rain check. It was at this point now speaking to the seasonal manager that we asked if we could purchase the floor model. We were told no for two reasons.
The main reason he gave us was because they had at least a dozen in stock in the back being held for layaway. When asked what layaway had to do with the floor model, this is what we were told. "I don't think you understand. If someone doesn't pick up their layaway, how am I supposed to sell that gazebo?" To which I responded, "Gee I don't know, maybe you could open the box and display it on the floor just like the one we wish to buy?" I was told "That's not going to happen."
The other reason we were given is that we could always order it online. The problem with the online choice is that the web site would not deliver to our local store. The closest store that we could pick it up at was at least a three-hour round trip into Manhattan where there is no parking or we could have it delivered to our home paying at least $175 in shipping and handling which negates the sale price.
Beyond being treated rudely, we just don't understand how they can advertise an item for sale and not have that item in stock or even plan on restocking. We realize it's seasonal, but it's still only May, and they could at least say limited quantities available in their advertising and store displays.

I was told it was not processed properly (7 days later) even though I received a confirmation and a sales check number and a delivery date of May 10th. As of May 8th, the item was still processing and showing as a pending charge on my credit card. Customer service agent #1 told me to order the item again. Okay, that gave me a ship date of May 20th for an item needed for May 12th.
Phone customer service agent #2 forwarded me to phone customer agent #3 who proceeded to tell me to wait 10 days for the first item to be deleted from processing and never addressed the need that this item needed to arrive for a Mother’s Day gift, which I properly ordered within a time limit for proper delivery by the time I needed it. She proceeded to tell me there was no one else to escalate this situation to, she was the final word unless I wanted to contact corporate. BUT corporate contact information could not be given to me.
I want to contact corporate for the extremely POOR customer service that is provided. I am purchasing a fairly expensive item and I am appalled at the lack of service from this company. Where is corporate’s contact information? I want to add that these American companies (Kmart and Sears) have customer service agents that are extremely difficult to understand! I will not proceed with this purchase nor will I ever step into either of these stores ever again. A direct contact with corporate is non-existent. The "processing" error on behalf of the company allowed for a gift to not be delivered "on-time" and there was no resolution or "sorry" provided except “hey, place the order again”. By the time the "cancellation" occurs, the new order for the ring will be off sale and the coupon for a percentage off will have expired. What does Kmart have to offer for this inconvenience and extremely poor customer service? Nothing.

Consumer Affairs had reported about this data mining technique in a previous article recently. I wanted to send along information I've learned while shopping at Kmart. They are requesting customers' phone numbers by stating, "Do you have a rewards card?" So I say, "No." They say, "Can I check your phone number to make certain you don't have one." I told the clerk, "I don't have one and no, you may not have nor need my phone number to process this transaction." I used a gift and debit card for these transactions. I also noticed on the receipt the information Issued Offer followed by a series of numbers three times. I suspect the clerk has to indicate that he asked repeatedly for the customer's phone number.
I told a previous clerk in a transaction the week before using the same gift card that they are told to ask for the phone numbers so that Sears can obtain further information about the person, and that of course, their supervisors don't tell them the real purpose. I make it very clear I will not give my phone number, zip code or any other information while checking out. And if they give me a hassle, I leave the items on the counter and just walk out the door. I recommend you inform your readers of this trend at Kmart too and why these clerks are asking repeatedly for a phone number, particularly when they make some comment, "Can I have your phone number to make certain?" as if the customer is too stupid to know whether or not he has a reward card.
Regarding Target, they do the same thing now touting their very own debit card. I'm asked by every damn clerk checking out if I want a Target debit card. I tell them I have a debit card. They say, "Oh, you get to save 5% on every transaction without debit card. It is tied to your checking account." I told the clerk I don't need a second debit card tied to my checking account and would never do that. She said, "Oh, is it too much information to remember?" I wanted to scream at the $9/hour clerk and tell her that it is time that these clerks learn how to talk to customers and not be condescending. Instead, I told her, "Remembering information for me is not a problem at all. I would never hand over my private bank information to Target or any other corporation so they can tie their debit card to my bank account. You can keep your 5% and I'll keep my privacy." I remember when Target stopped asking for an ID to verify when someone handed over a credit or debit card for a purchase. They aren't very concerned about someone's financial privacy at all.

On October 31, 2012, I went to Kmart with my father and brother to buy myself a new bag. After looking at the backpacks for about 10 minutes, I finally decided on picking the red Outdoor Vortex 8.0 Extra Large Backpack. We walked to the register to checkout.
While checking out, the cashier asked if we would like to buy the replacement plan for my backpack. My father said, "Why not?" So we ended up buying the backpack and my insurance plan. For the past week, my bag has been ripping on the side, and on my zippers. So I went back to the same Kmart to get my bag replaced. I arrived at Customer Service and waited in line. So I order one from another site (Amazon) and receive it on the day they say I will. So I call Kmart to cancel the order. They tell me it has been canceled and I will get a refund in 8-10 days even though they got their money from me the same day I ordered. 5 days later, I get an email saying that the tablet is on its way. So I call them back to ask them why are they still going to send it even though I said cancel the order. They could not give me a straight answer, so I tell them to cancel it again. This time they tell me it will be 3-7 days before I get a refund.
Fast forward another week (7 days of course), still no refund or tablet. So of course I call them back to ask what is going on and guess what? So by this time, the tablet will be a month late. Needless to say, I couldn’t give my mother her birthday gift.
So I call Kmart again. This time they tell me the tablet has been shipped and I should get it in 4 days. I ask them why have they shipped it still and I have called them 3 times and asked for my money back. Still no straight answer. The best they told me to do was once the tablet arrives by UPS, was to send it back and then wait another 7 days for my refund. I told whomever I was talking to on the phone that this was outrageous and that I will contact my attorney. You know what they told me? "Go ahead." I really love this store on Figueroa Street at the Carson Town Center. The associates are helpful when you have a question and they return phone calls. There is a 75% room where everything is on sale, which could be for a defect or a broken item. I bought a cute Jaclyn Smith rug here for $4, and a cute ballerina jewelry box that just needed a wind-up handle. When I showed the cashier what was wrong with it, she made sure that I went to Customer Service to show them, in case I couldn't fix it. The great thing also about shopping - not only are the prices great, so are the merchandise. You also get cash back on your purchases and great coupons which, in my opinion, is a way better deal than Walmart.
I love Sears as well. The one in the Del Amo mall is great. Their workers are very smart about their products and also return phone calls.
