How does Dr. Marty work?

Dr. Marty’s products are available to purchase online or in-store. You can use Dr. Marty’s store locator to find your closest retailer.

Dr. Marty’s pet food can be ready to serve out of the bag, but the company recommends that you get your pet used to the new food by replacing portions of their regular food with Dr. Marty’s food over time. It’s also important to serve the recommended portion relevant to your pet’s weight and combine it with the recommended amount of water if your pet prefers wet food.

Some supplements also require time to introduce your pet to the formula. For example, Dr. Marty recommends starting with a small amount of Pro Power Plus formula and working up to a full serving over 10 days. Your pet may experience tummy trouble as bacteria is kicked out of their system, but this should only last two to three days. The cat version of this product, Feline Prime, also requires a transition period.

Be sure to read the instructions for each product label or download the product guide online from Dr. Marty’s website. If you don’t see an improvement in your pet’s health, you have 90 days to return the unused amounts of pet food or supplements. Consult with your vet if any problems persist.

I have three dogs, a Teacup Maltipoo (5lbs), a Pot Hound 28 lbs and a 55 lbs Pitt/Boxer/Border Collie Mix. The littlest one and the biggest one have had a lot of allergies and skin problems. I’ve tried the allergy injections (** I think it’s called) and oatmeal baths, all the sensitive skin brands of kibble like Purina Pro Plan and all the other fancy vet recommended ones. But my little dog was losing hair and lethargic all day, I’ve only been using this food for her by itself for about 2.5 weeks maybe 3 and she already has more energy and her skin and hair looks better and growing in thicker. My large dog is already scratching less and no longer licking her paws obsessively. My middle sized is just an old gal and I want to keep her healthy. But it was a whole vibe I’ve never seen before, 1 sec after the first bag was open they almost looked crazed like they had never seen food before.

The two bigger dogs get a 1/4 cup on their regular food since it’s too expensive to only feed them that. The little one only eats Marty’s now. But they really love this food and the middle pup waits for me to put Marty’s on top of her kibble because she likes it better but is less interested in the kibble by itself now. I know this is subjective but I have never seen them so excited for a dog food. And I have been through a lot of brands, wet and dry and different toppers but this was like their true animal nature came out (in a good way) and they were like craving it before they even tried it. I hope more people and dog companies start making dog food this way. I’m sad I discovered it so late in the game but I want to thank Dr. Marty for putting so much effort into making this happen, I hope you continue to grow so costs can be lower and more pets can experience the wonder of a healthy tasty food without the quality loss of growth of course.

I'll fall back. I ordered Dr Marty's food for my cats and they loved it.. I stopped ordering it and it's not a good thing. I really need to go back to ordering more. They do give me a good deal and I just at the time lost my hours at work so hopefully they'll give me a great deal again but my cats really, really liked it.. And when I called they were so nice to me explain everything and I'm just not had an experience like that with anybody so I'm going to make a call pretty soon and order some more food for my cats. I really love them very much. I just want them to be healthy. After all they are your pets that you love and want to take care of because really they have nobody else.. Thank you Dr Marty and staff ❤️💯

My dogs had bad breath and bad digestion when using Dr. Marty’s Nature's Blend. It helped them get the nutrients they need. I could only afford to use this as a topper, but even a topper makes a difference. Both our 4 month old and 11 year old have no digestion issues or bad breath. Thank you.

My Maltipoo Gidget was almost 14 when I started feeding her Dr. Marty’s Nature’s Blend dog food. I was feeding her Fresh Pet, but going to Colorado and was doubtful I was going to be able to find a refrierated food in the Rockies, so started transitioning her over to Dr. Marty’s about 3 weeks before my trip. Fresh Pet turned out to be available there, but Nature’s Blend was an unexpected godsend. Yes, it’s expensive, but oh, what a transformation in my dog. She had started to look old, but Dr. Marty’s began visibly turning the clock back within weeks. She started to look younger and healthier and, not a barker, would start to bark at me and jump up and down if I didn’t have her breakfast or dinner ready promptly at 9 am and 5 pm. She LOVED it.

To us, it looks unappetizing, but must have all of the right ingredients, because although always youthful, she appeared to be 8 or 9 years younger, puppyish and full of energy. I am firm in my belief that it not only made her more healthy, but gave her 5 more zestful years of life and vitality that she never would have had. It is expensive, but worth it for what it gave her in the way if quality of life and more time with my precious girl, who lived as long as she possibly could: until 3 weeks shy of what would have been her 19th birthday. I can’t commend Dr. Marty enough for the steps he has taken to change the pet food industry or recommend his Nature’s Blend dog food enough!

My 42 lb Australian Shepherd working dog loves Dr. Marty's but I can not get the company to stop sending me unrequested dog food that I did not order in spite of numerous emails and phone calls. This has gotten totally out of hand as I now have over 9 bags that I was charged for and did not request and I CANNOT get them to stop. Too bad because my dog likes their food. Now I have to find another food for him. This is unfortunate as he like the food.

I have been ordering Dr. Marty's dog food for years and the last two orders have not even been sent. No reason, no offer to replace the order for free, nothing! The food is good but for some reason the company can not get the orders delivered. Meanwhile, my dog has to eat another kind of food and get sick. The company doesn't care! Just offers to send out a new order that may not get delivered either. The food is VERY high priced so you would think they could at least get it delivered! But again, the company DOESN'T CARE!

Beware, if your dog doesn’t like the food, throws up as soon as he eats it and he really doesn’t like the smell, to return cost as much as the food. I was told rates to return were between $249-$50. And a doctor who’s made his money already, can even cover the return, that tells you something! A big waste of money, it already cost a lot, then you're out big bucks to return it!

I’ve recently seen adds for Yak chews on Dr. Marty’s website and emails that his site sends to me. Dr Marty recommends Yak Chews. Yak chews are the worst thing you can give your dogs. They are so hard and fracture, it’s like having your dogs chew on glass or concrete. Pieces can break off and splinter causing sharp pieces to cut the inside of their mouth and throat. The experience we have had is it also breaks their teeth. We have had 2 of our dogs actually break a tooth that had to be extracted while chewing on the concrete hard yak chews. Their tooth fractured and exposed the pulp.

I have lost all confidence in Dr. Marty because of the fact that he recommends Yak chews. Our vet and several other vets I have talked to have said that Yak chews are the last thing you want to give your dogs to chew on. I will be unsubscribing from Dr. Marty and have lost all confidence in him. He has become so commercialized that I don’t believe he has the best interest of our pets in mind anymore.

So very expensive! I am a senior citizen on a fixed income. I am currently feeding eight cats, four of my own and four that were abandoned by neighbors who up and moved out and left them to starve. Unfortunately, due to the extremely high cost, I cannot possibly afford to keep feeding this cat food to my animals. And the streets that I have taken in. There must be something that could lower the cost of this. Somehow. It is just so overpriced.

I’m very disappointed with my experience, I purchased dog food from this company for $96, and unfortunately, my dog did not like it. She only ate about half of the first bag and refused to eat the rest, leaving two and a half bags unused. When I contacted the company, they gave me two options: either return the remaining food at my own expense or accept only a 30% refund. I chose to return the product, but it cost me $50 out of pocket just for shipping. In the end, I paid a significant amount just to return a product that didn’t work for my dog, while the company keeps the food and issues a refund. This feels unfair and not customer-friendly.

First customer service is horrible, they all try to convince you to keep it and keep trying, our 13 year old poodle ended up with pancreatitis, she loves to eat anything. Now she is on a very strict and expensive diet, Our doodle will not even eat her food if I crush Dr Marty's and put it on. It's been over 39 days and I just want to return it. They do not cover the return fee but will offer 30% of what you paid for the food. It's not healthy for your babies as it contains fat. I would not recommend. My daughter is a vet tech and scolded me for buying this for our babies. They both are now on prescription food. :-(

I bought this based on a recommendation from Cesar Millan, and then from my friend who uses it. The bag of Essential Wellness is 33% crude fat!!! Unless your dog is a working dog or high energy, just way too much crude fat. I have an 8 lb Shih Tzu, and my research on this tells me that food is very bad for him. Even the small breed is 27%. For perspective, it should be as low as 15%, but maximum 20%. It makes me question whether Dr. Marty is actually a veterinarian, or if he just doesn't care. How could a legitimate veterinarian who cares about animals produce such an unhealthy product that can potentially make animals sick? And shame on Cesar Millan for promoting this.

This company has no idea what it workers are doing. Mix boiled chicken rice and carrots for your dog cost you 12$ for 2 weeks and you as your love for your dog into it. Trust me Dr. Marty could care less about your pets. They only care about profit. Please stay away for your pet's health.

I bought Dr. Mary Nature's Feast Cat Food as I thought it might be healthier, as my cats are getting older, and are slightly plump. 1 cat ate a little, and will not touch it anymore. The other cat ate some, then threw up for about 15 minutes, the little she had eaten. I feed some stray cats and backyard wildlife as well: skunks, squirrels, possums, etc. They have eaten the other cat food I put out for them, will not touch this food. It is all that is left in the bowl. Have other experienced this same disappointment?
