I’ve been using Diamond Pet food for a long time. My poodles like it and I’m very happy with it. We use the Premium Adult for the adult dogs, and for the mothers and puppies, we use the Diamond Puppy.

I had a horrible experience with Diamond Pet Foods. I breed dogs and I pushed that food on my clients to buy. I got the breeder packs and I’d send them home with them. I would also tell them how good the food was. But I bought a batch from a local store and every single one of my 30 dogs got sick on it. It also caused the infertility in my dog. When I called Diamond customer service, they did absolutely nothing. They were horribly rude that I switched to a brand that I’m paying three times a bag what I paid for them. And I’ll never switch back because of the horrible customer service I got. The minute I switched my dogs to another food, they were fine.

My dogs did good on Diamond. Their skin is a whole lot more sensitive than a lot of other dogs and whenever I used Diamond, it had no issues. I send puppies home with Diamond samples when I could get them but all of this year, I haven't been able to get them. They said that they were on backorder. I had been using Diamond for my American bullies for probably five years and it was relatively cheap for a while but now it got pricey. I stopped using it last month. I would still use them if it wasn't for the price and samples. I have too many dogs to feed. Whenever I could feed them a cheaper food that does the same, I would.

I was dealing with a dog breeder, and he switched to Diamond. He said it was working good, so I tried it and I liked it. Ever since then, I went with it. I was breeding Pitbulls for about 28 years, but they got such a bad name in the neighborhood I lived in. Then, I went to German Shepherds. I had all good reviews on my dogs. Diamond makes their fur great. I only had a problem with it a couple times, but I called them and they straightened it out. So, it was cool. When I need puppy packs, they send me puppy packs too. I tell everybody about the Diamond dog food, and I swear by it.

I've been using Diamond for 20 years and it's probably what I'll always feed. I looked at a lot of the different premium brands before and Diamond had the best price. Plus I buy so much that the retailer here gave me a break on the price. I probably go through 150 bags a year. I breed English Springer Spaniels. I have six adult dogs here and I've had two to three litters a year. My son has two dogs and he feeds them Diamond as well. My daughter has got one of our dogs and Diamond is also what they've always fed it because it's what we use. Half the time, their dogs are out here as well.

There's a lot of expensive dog foods out there but I don't really see where they're any better than the Diamond brand. I feed the maintenance formula during the off-season if I don't have a dog that I bred. Then when I breed a dog, I put them on the puppy formula until they have their pups and the pups are weened. The coats on my dogs are good. They're healthy and energetic. When they have puppies, they pretty much maintain their body weight if I can get them to eat. Sometimes, after they've had puppies, their appetite goes down the tubes. But they all do real well. It's cold in the winter here in Northern Montana and I feed them as much as they'll eat in the wintertime because they're outdoor dogs. I've never even brought a dog to the vet because they were sick or had any health problems.

I recommend Diamond to anybody I place pups with. It's their choice. Some people have their preferences that they've fed for years. If they're gonna use a different brand, I put some Diamond in a plastic baggie for them to mix in with whatever brand they're gonna feed. But a lot of them just go ahead and buy Diamond brand before they get here. A lot of people also ask me where I get the Diamond brand and I tell them to go on the website. There's a locator there and you can look up any places near where you live. It's pretty easy find.

I was getting it up in Havre, North 40, and they were giving me a break on it too. But sometimes it would take two or three weeks. It's a big outfit. They must employ 40 people and sometimes, my order will get lost. I get up there and nobody would know anything about it or it would be sitting in the back and they wouldn't call me when it came in. The ACE Hardware here in Chinook kinda carry Diamond so I told them that was a good dog food. I figured if I get it here in Chinook, it'd save me driving up to Havre. There's just the owner and the two workers so I go in and he tells me exactly when it would be in and it's only about three or four days – sometimes, five days. Then when it comes in, they call me and I go pick it up. So it's worked out better. It's a lot more convenient and being so much smaller, it's easier to work with them. There's no mix-up in communication.

I love Diamond, and my little pups love it even more. Even my adult dogs are on the Diamond. They're Shetland Sheepdogs and their intelligence is number six out of 133 breeds. I used to have 35 male studs and 25 females. Now, it is down to 10. I got two male studs and eight females. I breed about twice a year now. I use the puppy diet food for them and the adults have the high-energy food. My puppies are satisfied with the food, and the people are satisfied with it too. I owe it to Diamond for the long life that I've been doing this.

At the beginning, I started breeding Great Danes. I am now doing English Bulldogs and both respond well to Diamond. I love how the puppies look when I have a puppy. I like the ingredients of Diamond. There’s not a lot of corn and that’s a big thing for me. Some of them have so much corn as a main ingredient and I don’t like that. I do like the Hi-Energy because if I have one that I need to have weight put on, it does the job. I've been using Diamond on and off for probably 25 years and for the price of the bag, you can’t beat it. Customer service has been fantastic too.

My dogs digest the Diamond a lot better than they did the other one I was using. It's great food and I've been using them for 11 years now. I'm a Sheltie breeder and I wanted the best for my girls when they're pregnant. When I was researching food, I noticed one package said it was for nursing and pregnant mommies. I thought that that's awesome and it had a lot of stuff in it that the other ones didn't have. The company has been great too. They give me free samples to give with my puppies when I sell them.

I recently changed my four dogs over to the Diamond Naturals Skin & Coat formula, Salmon & Sweet Potato. Contrary to what I expected from a formula specifically for skin and coat, my German Shepherd has had a terrible skin reaction. He developed a mild rash on his belly within a couple days of beginning his food change. By the time we were completely changed over, he was severely itchy. Not realizing it was the food, I tried a couple different things to help relieve his itchiness. It continued to get worse and he began developing sores and scabies places all over his body. A trip to our vet and we're concerned that the food has caused the reaction. And now we're in the process of changing him, yet again, to a different food.

Sorry to hear about the on going skin problems. It sounds like he has a food allergy to certain protein sources, including fish in this fish based recipe. Food allergy diagnosis is frustrating because there is no good test. It is diagnosed by excluding protein sources until you find one that he isn't allergic to. Unfortunately a lot of GSDs have these sensitivities. We have a great product that uses hydrolyzed protein. That tricks the body into thinking it's not something to react to. I recommend the puppies’ new homes to continue feeding them with Diamond. They can spend more for the same type food or they can buy Diamond at a better price, and it's just as good or better. The formula keeps the puppies healthy. We have used Taste of the Wild before but they do just as well on the Diamond Naturals. Diamond Pet Foods is quality food and I get more for my money.

I always have a litter and Diamond really helps with the transition from nursing through mommas, because I wet the food down before they start eating the hard and now, they all have mixed food. I've been using Diamond for the last 10 years and I’ve got a great experience with them. They always give my samples out in time when I order them. My cat had been eating Diamond Indoor cat formula for the last 5 years but I got a new bag on April 11 2019, and he started throwing up. 11 times in one night so I had to take him to the vet. Nothing was found but nothing else except the food had changed. The rest of that week I fed him baby food which he was able to keep down. The next weekend another bag of the same food arrived, as I thought maybe that badge was bad. That day he ate again from the new bag and started throwing up again. Diamond says nothing was found in quality control but I have no doubt it was something with the new bags of food. Has anybody else has had any recent problems with this food?

Hi Luisa- we spoke to your vet. She shared it was the third time your cat has had vomiting issues since coming to the US. This one involved a hairball. Your vet said she did not have a diagnosis but had a list of differential diagnoses (possible reasons for the vomiting). You may wish to follow up with her to see if the exact cause can be identified. We understand the next step is xrays and bloodwork

I had purchased Diamond Naturals Chicken on Monday, April 22nd from Care-a-Lot in St. Clairsville, OH and started mixing it in with his other food on Tuesday evening as I was going to start feeding him this food. He is a 20lb Cairn Terrier, who has never had any issues with any food he has eaten, until now. He threw up in the middle of the night Tuesday, threw up 4 times yesterday and once last night and 4 times today. He doesn't seem as if anything is bothering him and is still acting normal. Still wanting to eat and drink at this point as well. I have never given him this food and the only reason I switched to it was because I switched him from grain free back to grain food. He doesn't have any allergies or issues with chicken as he was eating Whole Earth Farms Small Breed Chicken and Turkey. I am not sure why this is happening, if it is related to the food switch or something else but I am very concerned for him as this is not usual behavior.

What was the foods ratio you fed Tuesday? About how long after he ate did the middle of the night vomit happen? What was in the vomit- undigested food, liquid, foam, bile? The bad reviews I’ve read are unfortunate. Although, I like to know if those people had issues with other brands as well. Food allergies are very possible. I know Diamond Naturals is a family business, so it would be nice if people that have had issues could factually prove it’s the food and not the dogs. Bad reviews on assumptions can hurt a business and I think that’s terrible... What people have to understand is that these reviews typically state the effects their dogs were having at the time they were eating this food. Root cause analysis hasn’t been done to determine those dogs were having such symptoms. There are a zillion reasons for dogs to puke or have diarrhea. This shouldn’t be a reflection on Diamond Naturals just because symptoms have been put in a bad review without proof.

Now I’ll give my experience with Diamond Naturals. I have 2 dog that are 16 yrs old. I got them both when they were about 1. (8 lb Havanese and 65 lb mixed Husky/Shepherd/Beagle) They’ve both eaten this brand of food for 15 yrs and they are in great health! I would like to keep him on a natural diet but after doing some research it seems that the beef proteins are giving him a food allergy giving him a food intolerance. He likes the taste but he seems to have an upset stomach and tries to eat grass to suppress it.

Your dog could very well have a food hypersensitivity. That is intrinsic to your dog and not the fault of the food. Other protein sources available in Diamond Naturals are salmon (skin&coat) and chicken&rice. Salmon would probably be the best bet. Please let us know if that doesn't fix the problem

Sorry to hear about the vomiting. Which Diamond product did you try? It was likely a transition issue or food hypersensitivity issue if the protein source between the two products are different. Nonetheless we are happy to refund you for the bag.

December 10: Senior Dog Chicken, Egg, & Oatmeal (35 lb) for my 13 year old spitz mutt/mix and December 16: Large Breed Chix & Rice (40 lb) for my 10-month shepherd mix. I weaned both dogs off of their previous foods and as of yesterday, January 2 2019, both of my dogs are having loose stools. Particularly my older dog who still had full-blown diarrhea and was becoming weak. I started feeding rice last week and went and bought him more of his old food last night. I am wondering if I should continue feeding my younger dog this food and may also switch her back after reading all of the recent reviews describing dogs with similar symptoms. Trying to save a buck has really backfired for me. I hope this food has not injured my dog’s GI systems or worse.

We hope that your older dog is back to normal. Since you transitioned him from the old food to the new, it is likely he has a food hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients. I hope that your young dog is continuing to do well. I never want to trivialize a pet getting sick, as I know from personal experience, it is a stressful time. However to put it in perspective, we do sell lots of food and average a concern, like yours, on about one out of ten thousand bags sold.

I have been using Diamond for several years now. The price is fair for what I get and I like the ingredients and the way they're used. I changed from my previous pet food not because my dogs weren't eating it, but because of the way it was formulated. The mix had specific chunks of chicken and some dogs would eat it and some dogs would just eat around it. We thought it wasn't a good formula for everybody and the size of the chunks was not good too for the smaller puppies. We found that the ingredients were better with Diamond. I breed Miniature Dachshunds and Diamond has always helped me with some sample packs, the little-bitty packs that I can hand out to my customers. I explain to them why I use Diamond. It works so much better with our supplement that we can tell that it's different than the previous food. We purchase Diamond from a local feed store and we also go to Chewy. All in all, Diamond is the best

I've been using Diamond Pet Food for two and a half years now. But my husband used them before I got a dog and he's been feeding Diamond for 10 years. We breed white Lab and it works for our puppies. We recently had four females come in and had four different litters. We had 22 pups here instantly about the 1st of September. Once the puppies turn six weeks, we start feeding them Diamond. We feed them Diamond soft puppy food, just mixed it with water, and they get all the nutrients they need. We feed them soft in the morning, dry in the evening.

Diamond sent me a box of pouches, and when we sell a puppy, we send them two to four packs of Diamond with them depending on the size of the puppy so that they can transition over. We try to tell the buyers to stay on Diamond until the pup is a year old because it produces good dogs. We had 24 pups come in January and all of them went home with at least two to four packs of Diamond puppy food. It gives them all the nutrients they need and it boosts their growth. They like it and they eat it. We've tried other brands, but we came back to it. I've been very pleased with them. I highly recommend Diamond to all my customers.

I also have client dogs as I'm a K9 whelper and trainer. I whelp many litters throughout the year and I have four litters right now. I usually give clients samples so they can see if their dog likes Diamond and that usually gets them to buy it. The dog food helps put on the weight the dogs needed and they also enjoy it. I put other things with it like ground beef or coconut oil. It just depends on what each individual dog needs. I've never had any skin problems from it and I've never had my dogs’ coat be dyed a reddish tint or anything from the dyes in the food. We love Diamond and we hope it sticks around. We've had Diamond Pet Foods on and off for 25 years. I feed my large dogs with Adult Performance. I do like it but I was just a little disappointed that they don’t wanna work with breeders when we can be affecting and influencing clients to be purchasing their product, and they don’t seem to care about that. I’ve called Diamond half a dozen times but they didn’t get back to me. One of the issues may have been because we’re not a hardware or a grocery store. But when we sell puppies, they’re coming here. They hold us in quite high esteem and they value our input on what we’re feeding our dogs.

I wouldn’t mind if they do a little work with us or help sponsor our feeds. We’re trying to breed dogs for police work and border patrol. We’ve shifted a bit more away from pets but we still do sell pets because not all of them are gonna make the grade or cut. We still feed Diamond but we are buying pellets from another manufacturer because they wanted to work with us and we’re getting some discount from some suppliers. They’re like, “Just get it from your local suppliers.” And so, we’re getting some from some suppliers but it still doesn’t compare to the other discounts that we’re getting.

I do like Diamond and I would feed them to all the dogs all the time and stay on it but I don’t want to go to bat for them if they can’t cut us a little slack or throw us a bone. If they found a certain group of breeders or clients who are buying their product who are influential in promoting their product, I think it’s a great disservice to their own business to lose us. Unfortunately, I’m done contacting them. I’ve tried and tried, and we ended up switching some dogs off of it and over although we still do have dogs on Diamond.

The better food versus the cheaper brands of food, the puppies waste is a lot better. They have a lot more formed stools and their waste doesn't smell as bad. The puppies just seem to do better. Their coats are better as well and they seem happier puppies. And it seems like the puppies have more of an even growth to them.

They like it, and I feel that it’s one of the better-quality dog foods you can get for your money that’s not gonna break the bank. I breed Labrador retrievers, and I give the new owners Diamond samples when they take their puppies home and as well as the brochures. I use the Diamond Hi-Energy for my adults, and then the Diamond Puppy food in the purple bags for my puppies. My puppies do very, very well on it. By the time my puppies are seven weeks old, they’re about 15 pounds at least normally, and they’re very, very healthy. They have really, really nice, shiny coats. It’s like a treat to them, so they like the taste of it, which is good.

Some puppy food make the puppies get a little bit of diarrhea, but Diamond doesn’t. None of my dogs have skin energies, and they get fuller faster. It’s not like a filler food. I’ve never had issues feeding Diamond. But the Diamond bags are almost like paper-type of bag. They rip open very easily especially at Fleet Farm. So, a lot of times, some of the bags are ripped open.

And yes, I have that in writing from a board certified cardiologist. I have since learned Diamond does not employ a veterinary nutritionist. Only a vet with “an interest in nutrition.” They don’t do feeding trials. They do little to ensure their food is actually safe and balanced. They DO NOT meet WSAVA standards. And did they care that their food is causing harm? No. They added Taurine but have no science to back up if it helps or as to the amount. It’s “what the industry landed on.” Is that who you want to entrust with your dog’s nutrition? I’d say no. They’re a reckless company that cares more about profit that animal health.

Our heart goes out to you regarding the DCM diagnosis. I'm sure along the way you've learned it has been established that there is a familial tendency and a genetic predisposition to DCM in Great Danes (Meurs et al 2001a). Great Danes were found to have the third highest death rate from heart disease of all breeds of purebred dogs (Egenvall et al 2006). We use a team approach for veterinary and pet nutrition. Dr.Heldman is the Director of Veterinary Affairs and Dr. Brookshire, along with her group of veterinarians, provide regular consultation. In addition, Dr. Fahey, a prominent nutritionist provides nutritional consultation on an ongoing basis. Mark Brinkmann has been formulating recipes for Diamond Pet Foods since 1995, and trained under Mark Morris, the founder of Hill's Science Diet.
As we became aware of the FDA’s findings, we started adding 1000mg taurine/kg of food. Even now there is no requirement for pet food companies to add taurine, since both people and dogs can make their own from the amino acid precursors, cysteine and methionine. Dr. Freeman, a veterinary nutritionist at Tuft’s vet school, wrote, 90% of our patients with DCM, in which taurine has been measured, have normal levels. Yet some of these dogs with DCM with normal taurine levels improve when their diets are changed. This suggests that there’s something else playing a role in most cases – perhaps a deficiency of a different nutrient.

When one looks at doing feeding trials, one must think long and hard about keeping dogs in cages for 6 months. Just because a diet can sustain a dog in a laboratory environment for six months, without causing illness or abnormal blood values, doesn’t mean it will perform the same way for dogs who may lead a much more active and stressful life, and for years on end. Foods that acquire the right to use a nutritional adequacy claim based on feeding trials need not be formulated to meet the other standard for nutritional adequacy: the “nutrient levels” criteria. Foods that pass feeding trials are not required to contain minimum or maximum levels of any particular nutrients. Therefore, it’s possible for a food to sustain dogs long enough to 'pass' the trial, but fail to demonstrate an ability (in real-world, long-term use) to promote optimum health. As one example, mineral excesses may take a year or more to cause noticeable health problems, but a food that claims to provide complete and balanced nutrition for adult dogs (a 'maintenance' claim) may have just passed 6 month test. We prefer to do nutritional adequacy testing, so that dogs don't have to be locked in cages for little or no benefit. All of our diets do meet the USA relevant, AAFCO authority, that works with the FDA to ensure pet food is safe and meets all of the pets’ nutritional needs

I don't believe that it's healthy for anybody to eat dry food all the time. It's hard on the digestive system to just have dry food.

I looked at the ingredients on it too, and they had said, "Check out the Diamond All Natural." I started using it then, and I really liked it. We used the regular Diamond, and I had to quit because, to me, it made the puppies' poop smell too bad. When I switched to the All Natural, there was a big difference. The poop doesn't smell as bad. I breed Pomeranians, Shih Tzus, Poodles, and Yorkies, and the puppies all do good off of the Diamond All Natural Puppy. It is a small breed puppy food, because the little bites are so tiny that they can eat it. We've never had any problems, and I also feed it to the lactating mommas because it has a little bit of calcium in it. The mommas get it. I give it to them two to three weeks before they have their babies, and then they eat it up until they weaned off their babies.

I'm on the Diamond breeders program, and so, I give my buyers the sample doggy bag puppy pet food, and I tell them to leave it on the puppies for a year, and as they get older, then they can switch to the regular Diamond. But if they can't get it, take the packages, and mix them half and half of what they get. For the most part, most of them are willing because they can get it at Tractor Supply and the feed stores all have it. I've had people that have brought me back the puppy because something happened and they couldn't keep it, or they had to move, and they all bring me these big bags of Diamond Pet Foods. But I strongly recommend that they keep using it, at least till the dog's a year old.

I also use just the Diamond Puppies for my males and Diamond Naturals for my indoor cat. I like the protein content and it’s also convenient for me to get. The dogs like it and I always recommend it. Also, when I’d have puppies the reps of Diamond Pet would send me out stuff for the puppy packs.

I'm a breeder and I was looking for something to feed the dogs. I wanted something that I could feed to both the puppies and the parents, and when I feed it to the puppies, it wouldn't upset their stomachs with the changeover. I've been using Diamond for over a year now and the dogs have been good on it. But the puppies couldn't handle the All Life Stages. It was too big. I have the small breeds, Maltese, Shorkies and Shih Tzu. I went to the small breed puppy food and they seem to do better with that. When I sell the dogs, I also give my customers the sample pack that I get through Diamond.

When I started using Diamond, it was because a friend has had it for a little while and really liked it. She also liked that they made the small kibble. I have Schnauzers and I've been using Diamond for several years now. I was using the Diamond Natural Small Breed Puppy but I'm on the Tennessee-Virginia line and I have a hard time finding it here. I hate that part. Tractor Supply carries it but they would never order me the other bag. So I usually use the regular Diamond Puppy. Nonetheless, all my dogs have done well on Diamond and I've never had any complaints about their health and well-being.

I’ve used Diamond brand dog food for nine years with my Huskies that have a mineral deficiency disorder. No problems. So now I have a 6 month German Shepherd and the vet recommended large breed puppy food. So of course I choose Diamond. The puppy has had consistent runny diarrhea since August. We are working with the vet to find the cause but it seems like it must be the food. The other option is to run expensive tests to rule out other problems. Based on the reviews here I believe I will try a new food first.

Diamond was the only food my dog would eat. I like that it was a premium food and it was less poop. They eat less and they seem to do well on it. I have boxers and depending on my females, I have three litters a year. When I send them to their new homes, I sometimes forget to order Diamond and I just send those zip lock bags full of Diamond Puppy. I also send them home with the brochures about the adult food.

I’m gonna be switching my one female that was just spayed to a maintenance one because she’s getting a little bit fat eating the Hi-Energy. I use Diamond Large Breed Puppy, the Naturals and the regular Puppy for my puppies but my adults eat Diamond Hi-Energy. When I had a senior, I fed him the Senior Formula. However, when they changed the recipe for the Extreme Athlete, my dogs had explosive diarrhea. They never changed the formula back. So, I just moved on to the next food that they would actually eat. All my dogs have beautiful, nice, shiny coats. It is good food and I like it. I recommended it to everybody that I sold puppies to and anybody who asked me for a recommendation. I also tell them what kinds I use and most likely, they tried it.

I’m going to stop the food and put her on Eukanuba puppy chow. We ran a fecal and nothing was out of the ordinary. Poor puppy had explosive in her kennel twice and now runs for the door every morning and has diarrhea first before urinating. This is bad and if it’s something in this food I’m going to be very upset with this company. I’m a stay at home mom and the puppy is around me 24/7 and I walk her so she didn’t get in to anything. This is so sad. Chewy gave me a refund. They’re a great company. Switched to new food yesterday so if it stops I’ll know it was this brand.

Sorry to hear about the loose poo. Since it's been going on for a month, it is likely a case of dysbiosis, where the good and bad bacteria get out of whack. Thus long after the cause of diarrhea has passed, the diarrhea continues. Often a course of the antibiotic, metronidazole, gets everything back in the proper ratios and the diarrhea resolved.

I have Maremma Sheepdog. They are a livestock guardian breed that is large like the Great Pyrenees. I used Diamond for my dogs for about five years. Unfortunately, I had some issues while feeding them the product. They had recurring yeast infections in their ears, hot spots, and oily coats. I had to micromanage their feeding amounts to keep a stable weight on them. Since I switched foods, all of those problems have cleared up.

Diamond's food is not necessarily terrible but they need to take more responsibility. I have been invested in human nutrition for a long time. I did a lot of research and looked at the ingredients. I would tell other people to research Diamond, and make sure that the company is being responsible in testing their food before, after, and during processing. They should also do feeding trials and that they stand behind their products with longevity and history, and that their dogs are not having these problems because the food hasn’t gone through the proper testing that it needs to go through.

Glad to hear your Maremma are doing well. As a livestock guardian dog, I imagine the condition under which they live are quite different than the average dog pet. To address your feeding trial suggestions, when one looks at doing feeding trials, one must think long and hard about keeping dogs in cages for 6 months.

Ever since I started breeding six years ago, I've been using Diamond Pet Foods. It's local and my dogs seem to really like it. Their coats shine and they do really good on that. I’ve tried different foods. I’ve tried Purina and I just didn’t like the way that the pups have done with it so I went back to Diamond. I have dachshunds and for the puppies, I use the Natural Small Breed. For the outside dogs, I use the Green and Gold. And for the inside dogs, I use the Natural Small Breed of Dogs. I buy three different brands, three different kinds.

I called Diamond and they sent me sample packs for when I sell my puppies and that was really nice. I appreciate that. I also promote Diamond food and almost all seemed to go in and continued with it if they could get it in their area. And some of them even ordered online. I’ve been really pleased with it. I just had one experience. I buy them sometimes at Orscheln and I got a bag that was molded. The bag had been ripped. I called Diamond first and then I called Orscheln. I took it back and they immediately replaced it.

I was looking for puppy food that is small enough for my Chihuahuas that has a good quality to it and a lot of protein and fat. Those little guys hardly eat anything so I wanted to get the most into them. I start outright with hard food and I want something that they can eat without being a problem. So I always start the puppies out with Diamond. Even the regular Diamond puppy food is pea-size so they don't choke on it even if they swallow it. I also see nice growth and improvement with the puppies because of the fact that the food is little.

I've been using Diamond for about 15 years now but it's a little harder to get the Diamond samples. With potential owners, I actually promote Purina more because they send me puppy packs. It's just easier. And because I start selling my puppies at six weeks, I'm generally in the process of weaning them from Diamond onto the Purina so they get a mixture when I send them. I still do recommend Diamond. I just don't promote it as much as the Purina. I also would not start out with a Purina puppy food because they don't offer anything small enough for the little dogs. Other than Chihuahuas, I also have Chows and I feed them Diamond as well.

I'm hoping you still have the bag, and thus, the production code from the back? The code identifies the batch that yours came from. I'd love to conduct an internal investigation into your batch. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Unfortunately for Golden Retrievers there now appears to be a genetic predisposition to Dilated Cardiomyopathy. Dr Stern @ UC Davis is expected to publish something along those lines, hopefully soon. Since you have been feeding Diamond Lamb & Rice, it is not grain free, so I would not expect there to be any possible taurine concerns. You mentioned enzymes and minerals, but the ongoing research about this heart condition, possibly has to do with an amino acid called taurine. To this day pet food manufacturers are not required to have taurine in pet foods because people and dogs can make it from the amino acid precursors cysteine and methionine. Nonetheless we started adding taurine to our recipes before the FDA issued their statement. Once again I am sorry for you and your friend's loss

    Hello,

I hope your dog's diarrhea has resolved. Not fun for either of you. We aren't "under investigation" by anyone and are not having any recalls or clusters of issues. Unfortunately in the litigious society in which we live, anyone can file a lawsuit against anyone for anything at any time. A law firm known for these suits did file one. We had an independent lab repeat the tests the firm claimed they did, and found no presence of the elements. Although we have asked, they have not provided their samples for independent testing. Also the substances they cite are naturally occurring and are safe and common in both our and our pets' diets

Then we switched to the beef and rice formula and he was violently ill with diarrhea and vomiting every time he ate, even after appropriately transitioning him. We transition him AGAIN to the lamb and rice formula, and the same thing happened again; diarrhea and vomiting immediately after eating.

Immediately took him off all Diamond products and switched him to Zignature lamb dry food and kangaroo wet food. Immediately after switching he became his normal happy, high energy self with no issues whatsoever. Turns out he does not have any allergies and it was just Diamond Naturals dog food that almost killed my dog. He now can happily have chicken, beef, and lamb with no problems after ditching Diamond. After our vets spoke to your vet, the consensus is that the cause of Zoey's sickness was likely a bacterial infection such as campylobacter, clostridium, coronavirus or parvo virus, especially since another puppy in the litter was sick in its new home too.

Our vet recommended Diamond Pet Foods for the Siberian huskies that we're breeding. We were feeding them with the Purina Puppy Chow before and no matter what we did, they still had runny, soft poop, but they don't have that with the Diamond food. This pet food has better quality and we noticed that they didn't eat as much of it as they did with the cheaper stuff. Also, sometimes puppy food has made the puppies grow very quickly, whereas with Diamond, their growth has been average. We use the Diamond Hi-Energy formulation for our adult dogs and they are definitely full of energy. The more protein, the better, so that formulation suits them well.

We have four to seven litters a year and we routinely send the puppies to their new homes with the Diamond dog food samples, and we recommend to the new owners that they continue feeding their puppies with Diamond. It is easy getting those samples. I just send an email and within a week the samples are delivered to our house. I've dealt with the reps through email and they've always been polite and helpful. There were puppy parents who switched to a different brand of dog food, then they called us four months later and told us that their dog was having issues. We told them to put their dog back on the Diamond food and when they did, it worked fine and they never had an issue with it. We've been using Diamond Pet Food for our dogs for two years and we're very happy with it, and we plan to continue feeding it to our dogs.

One of the first ingredients of Diamond is meat or meat by-products and it’s paramount to me. I raise and breed mastiffs and they have to eat meat. Meat should be their first ingredient. I also like how Diamond adjusted the different vitamins and minerals that they added. I have tried other brands but I always went back to Diamond because the dogs like it better. I tried Victor for a while, but I had to add some dog food to it for the dogs to eat it. I put the dogs back on Diamond and they immediately started eating the dog food again with no hesitancy.

I start my puppies immediately on Diamond. I grind Diamond Puppy Formula until it’s a mash, then I add it to the formula that I’ve used. I add that to the milk replacer and I soak the soft puppy foods in that. The puppies start on that when they are two weeks old. I call Diamond and ask for samples to send with the new puppies and they always send me some. I send a pamphlet with the new owners so that they understand what Diamond offers and continue with Diamond as well.

I have the Diamond Performance and the puppies just gobble it up as soon as I put it in the bowl. It’s a little more expensive, but it has all the ingredients and the nutritional value that I need for my puppies. We are in the show world and my dogs are making champions and grand champions repeatedly. They are what they eat. I had gone off Diamond before but have always had to go back because it makes my dogs look and perform better. They also feel better and their coats show it.

Diamond is a better quality food and I recommend it to everybody. I have been in the grocery store before and someone was standing there, looking at the bag of whatever grocery the store sells. I told him to look at the first ingredient and he said that it has corn. I asked how many dogs he sees in the cornfield going and I immediately recommended him to Diamond and told him where to purchase. Also, I was over at our friend’s house today and she is also a mastiff breeder. She asked what I feed my dogs because she said that my dogs always grow so much bigger and healthier than hers and I told her I stick with Diamond.

I use it in my puppy packs that go home with my babies. I've used it for a long time but recently I have considered changing foods. Sometimes they don't want to eat it. I got a shipment a couple of weeks ago and it looked a little different.

The biggest thing I've noticed is that they are not eating it as well as they used to and sometimes, it seems drier than normal. Sometimes the consistency is off. I have a little Yorkie male that has been in the emergency vet clinic all night. He has been very ill and we don't know what is causing this. He wouldn't eat yesterday and today. But I've raised a lot of babies on Diamond and I have babies all over the world. I have babies in Hawaii and in New York. I have a lot of repeat business because my babies are always so pretty but if they decide that they don't want to eat Diamond then I have to look for something that they like that's more palatable to them.

I’ve been using Diamond Pet Food on and off for several decades. Then, we switched over to Purina for some time because we breed and show Alaskan Malamutes. My wife shows other dogs too but our primary focus is on Alaskan Malamutes. We also do weight pulls. We have Canine Good Citizen titles and Trick Dog titles as well. Purina gave incentives for discounts and they send towels, aprons and canopies to show that we were a premium member. They wanted us to use them at the show so everybody can see their food. But our dogs do a little better on Diamond than they did with Purina, so we went back to the Diamond.

Now, we have one litter every 18 months since people want our puppies all the time but we have a hard time qualifying them. When we get about six people who we feel are the best homes for them, then we breed at that time. Our contract says that Diamond Food is our preferred food and we give them four choices they can feed. If they don’t agree to it then we won’t sell the dogs to them.

We use the formula in the burnt orange bag and the content is better for our adult dogs. Our Malamute line will live to 15 years old but a lot of other Malamute lines die often at seven to nine. We have one of the oldest and most traditional Alaskan Malamute lines and that is the only way we’ll breed. We spend hundreds of dollars but Diamond does not have an incentive program which other dog food companies push. My wife and I tried to talk to Diamond to do more promotions. Nevertheless, we are very satisfied with Diamond.

I'm a breeder and I started using Diamond pet foods when I had my Great Danes. It has been about 10 years now and I'm on a different breed, but I still use it.

I get a really great consistent weight for dogs even on ones that are hard to maintain weight on. I feed the Puppy and the Hi-Energy variants, and I do really well with them. I have signed up and I was sent information sheets and sample bags that I give out when I sell my puppies. I highly recommend that they stay on it and most of them do. I've had a couple of people who tried to go over to another brand but they came back and said the puppies do better on Diamond. They don't have as much waste, they maintain their coat and overall luster. Also, they look more muscular.

Right now, I breed toy breeds, Boxers and Heelers. My Heelers are working dogs and this is really good food for them. It maintains their energy and keeps them focused. For the Boxers, it really keeps the weight on them. All the puppies have been great. I start them at about three weeks on the Puppy food and they continue until they go to their new homes. Most of them stay on it until they're a year old then they are switched over to the Hi-Energy variant. Sometimes it'll be the Performance, depending on the dog. However, I keep my adult Boxers on the Puppy because that particular food does better for them all around. I fully believe in Diamond pet food and whenever I recommend it, I tell people that it's what my puppies have been on, as well as their parents. But if the new owners are to switch to something different, I tell them to mix the Diamond samples that I give them.

I’ve been feeding my dogs Diamond Pet Foods for about three years now. I like that it has higher protein and we’ve started using the red grain-free option. We mix up the red bag high energy for performance dogs with the grain-free and do a mix of the two. We raise Australian Shepherds and we work them hard in the pasture, so we need all they can get to keep weight on them and keep them energetic and ready to go. We also have brochures and stuff from Diamond that we usually include with the puppy packs. Diamond is doing a great job and I wish they keep up the good work.

We've been using Diamond Pet Foods for four years and we used Diamond Puppy and Diamond Maintenance many years ago for eight years. The Diamond Naturals is the formulation that we're using now and it was recommended by the breeder that we bought our Great Pyrenees dogs from. The Large Breed formula was made for the dogs to accommodate their bone growth and it has worked for us.

Our previous experience with Diamond was good. But we heard about some issues at some point where it was said that they had some bad food, but we weren't affected by those issues and they didn't alter our view of this pet food brand. It's not as cheap as store-bought food, but its quality is better, and it's still more affordable than some of the other higher-end brands.

For the last three years, we've had three litters and we sent the puppies to their new homes with the Diamond samples. But for the first litter, we didn't know about the program where Diamond would provide samples and we just bagged up some samples and sent these along with the puppies. We definitely recommended Diamond Pet Food to the new owners.

We also recommend continuing to feed the puppies Diamond. The puppies are always healthy. Their mom and dad eat it too and they look good and are happy with it. I would recommend Diamond Pet Foods, but I wish they have better samples.

However, we stopped using Diamond because although the dogs were healthy, they weren't getting as much health benefits that we were expecting out of it. We tried the Naturals in the blue bag, and then the Lamb and Rice in the red bag. I have one female dog and she is a hard keeper. She wasn't gaining weight like I wanted her to and when I changed her over to Monster, another dog food, she bloomed. I don't think the protein is quite there in the Diamond as it is in the Monster. Nevertheless, I recommended Diamond to my sister and we liked Diamond when we used it.

We switched from Blue Buffalo to Diamond Pet Foods and we have been using Diamond for our dogs for about seven years now. My husband and I breed German shepherds. Diamond is what one of the people that we used for stud service fed his dogs and he really recommended it. We looked into it and decided to try it. We have four adult German shepherds and, right now, we have four pups. Diamond is not cheap, but the price is reasonable. It's a good quality food. There are some farm stores around that have Diamond, so I have never had a problem getting the food. They also have a good website that gives me information and we’ve been happy with them.

We usually have litters once a year. I’ve got a litter right now and it’s getting ready to leave. I like giving my buyers as much information and stuff as I can to get them started, so I give them a good-sized bag of food myself but if I give them samples too, then it’s nice. The company gives me some flyers about their product too. We use Large Breed Adult Dogs and Lamb and the Large Breed Puppy and they seem satisfied. Some German Shepherds can have sensitive stomach, but I haven’t had an issue like that with any of my dogs. They look really healthy and they have beautiful, shiny coats. I also have two cats and I got some food for them too.

I used Diamond about a year ago but now I give the KON brand of dog food to my pets. I have the small breeds of dogs and I have puppies here all the time. Their appetite was stronger when they were eating Diamond. But as far as their health, it was the same as when they began eating the KON. I made the switch after I compared Diamond with the KON. I fed equal amounts of dogs eating both kinds of dog food and there was less dog food consumption with the KON, so that told me that there was more filler in the Diamond dog food. So, I stopped using it.

    Hi Nelson,
I'm not familiar with KON, what does that stand for? We, like most pet food manufacturers, don't use "fillers". Those have gone by the wayside.Quality ingredients and transparency is extremely important. For those feeding small breeds, we advise using the small kibble. In your case if you were using the bigger kibble perhaps it was not fully digested before the GI system said it was time to poo it out

And so, I tell all my customers I've had Diamond for years. We were in Texas and we moved in to a new area. Since I raise dogs, I was looking to save a little money on dog food. I used to buy Purina but I was dissatisfied with it. Diamond's price was better, so I started using it. As a breeder, I gotta watch my overhead, so that is important to me. I raise Labrador Retrievers and I've been giving them Diamond for five years now. I have a litter once a year and I always give their new owners Diamond samples. In fact, it is guaranteed that I give them some Diamond when they take the dogs. Then this year, Diamond supplied me with a bunch of small bags for that specific reason. I don't like the pups to have to transition to a new dog food. But some owners are not gonna feed Diamond, so for the first couple of days, I wanted the pups to at least have some Diamond. I even told them to blend it with the new food until the dog was ready to completely start a new diet because Diamond isn't available everywhere.

I'm using the biggest bag that Diamond makes and it is the Large Breed. I both feed the Rice and Lamb to my dogs and I alternate it with the beefs because my dogs are particular. Overall, Diamond is an outstanding dog food. I've been raising dogs for 30 years and it is as comparable and as good as Purina. It is a wonderful food and the protein level is very high on it. It is not cheap dog food but a high-quality food at a very reasonable price. I recommend it all the time.

I use the Diamond Maintenance for my adult dogs and I've been using Diamond pet foods for about 20 years. But I’m not happy with the Large Breed formula anymore. I noticed that the formula seems to have changed over the years. The color is different and there is almost a pepper smell to it.

I have Weimaraners and Dobermans, and they've always liked the regular puppy food, in the purple bag, over the Large Breed. I always switch slower but when I started switching, the Large Breed food seemed to have given them diarrhea badly. I’ve been noticing it for a while and the Dobermans are getting to where they won’t eat the food at all. I've switched to just the purple bag, the regular puppy. But I’ve also talked to a lot of people who do not recommend Diamond because of the ingredients and the shelf life on it versus some of the holistic dog foods.

Thanks for the review Wendy. We rarely make changes to the recipe. There can be slight differences in the kibble as we have 5 different plants here in the US. As dye plates, that cut the food into kibble bits, start to wear that can cause a few mm changes in kibble size. The color can vary slightly too since we don't use any dyes. I breed French Mastiffs, always feed the adults Premium instead of Maintenance since reproducing is an extra stress to the body. We pride ourselves in ingredient sourcing and vendor vetting. We have bought from certain vendors for over 40 years! Shelf life is a year, which is pretty standard

Diamond was a relatively decent price as I am a breeder, so I need a lot of dog food. Also, the quality was decent for the price. But I no longer use Diamond since they changed the formula and the bags. Once they changed the formula, all my dogs had running poop, and I switched to a different dog food. I have Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, which means that they have long hair, and if everybody has ass blast then everybody needs a bath. Diamond was a great and very easy breeder program, and if not for the ass blast, I would still be using it because it was very cost-effective, especially if you have many dogs.

Before I switched, everything was fine. I like the fact that Diamond sent the little sample packets for the families that go home, which was nice to put in a care packet for every puppy. Which the new company that I deal with doesn’t do, so the samples come out of my pocket. Also, the people at Diamond was easy to deal with. I could just fax a little form and get the samples readily available even in Menards. It was nice that I could I just pick up the food wherever I need it to because there’s a Menards everywhere. So you don't have to jump through hoops to get the samples. With the new company, I have to order online, but the upside of that is they deliver right to my home and it’s free shipping.

We also recommend Diamond to their new owners and some of them continue giving Diamond to their pets while some of them do different stuff. We had really good luck with the Diamond that we've set our dogs on. Our last Lab lived to be 14.5 years old and he was on Diamond for half of his life. And food plays a good part in the dog's life, so we try and recommend that to owners.

We routinely use the Diamond Puppy. We feed our moms that when we're getting ready to breed them, just to keep them high and all the nutrients and proteins that's in the puppy food. And we feed our adult dogs the Light which is the lamb and rice formula. Diamond keeps their allergies down. We have a Chocolate Lab who gets ear infections regularly if he's not eating the right foods and the different formulas of the Diamond food have helped keep his ear infections down. Their skin and coats are really nice and shiny with the food, too. The food also contributes to some of their heart health as well and all of our dogs have had great longevity with their lifespans. Overall, our experience with Diamond has all been super positive and they're a great company to work with.

We breed little dogs such as Yorkshire Terriers, Toy Poodles, Maltese, Maltipoos, and Yorkipoos. We got one litter that is five weeks old and we have another girl that is due in three weeks. We also have a couple more girls that are early bred. When we send the puppies into the new homes, we send them with Diamond samples and I’ve got to order some more of those.

Ordering the samples has been very easy. The puppies go all over the United States and in some areas, they don’t have Tractor Supply and I tell them that they could get it all off of Chewy. With Diamond, the puppies are healthy and their coat is glossy and never dull-looking. The puppies seemed to like it well and we are very pleased with it, especially the small kibbles because they were so much easier for the puppies to eat. Diamond has been really good and when I call and say that I need puppy kits, the kits are here in no time. We’re feeding it to all of our dogs, including the adult once in our kennel and puppies and I’m also feeding it to our pet further in the house.

25 years ago, I used to breed poodles and min pins. I used Diamond almost exclusively back then. However, we had to get out of the dog business and Diamond was hard to find. I was ordering it by truck and ordering $500 at a time over the telephone. I had to get it because I would order it by telephone. Then Tractor Supply came in and I started trying to raise a few Teddy Roosevelt Rat Terriers, the small, short-legged ones. That’s when I used Diamond again. I really like the Teddy Roosevelt Terrier Rat Terriers for a pet but a lot of people like to take them for a hunt. They’re kind of a multi-purpose puppy. Most of them are not so hyper like Jack Russells that don’t stay inside well. If you start working with them, you can take them hunting and you don’t have the upkeep that you do with poodles.

I’m gonna have a litter of puppies and I want to raise some really good quality ones. I like Diamond so much, particularly the Lamb & Rice because it makes fewer stools and it doesn’t stink as bad. It was awesome with my poodles. However, I haven’t been able to afford it this time so I’m just having to go with Hi-Energy and the Puppy. I’m 65 and I’ve just retired. My husband and I still have five kids at home, and two are in college so money is really an issue.

Usually, Diamond mailed the puppy packages to us but I went online and now they say I’ve to go order it and I have to go to Tractor Supply to pick it up. I don’t particularly like that. I like to buy the 50 pounds because I save money and I have to make a special trip. Nevertheless, it’s okay. I’ve tried several different feeds and I personally like the Diamond better. It gives them good nutrition and when you have a new puppy and you’re trying to housebreak, it’s definitely a plus.

For a while, we couldn’t get the rough colored bag that has the chicken and rice formula and we had to go with the green bag that had the flat-formed disc. My one dog absolutely loved it. He likes to eat the food so fast that he gags himself. So it would be nice if the chicken and rice and my colored bag would go to that bigger sized disc versus the nuggets so he might slow down and taste the food.

Diamond should watch their supplier called TSC because they do not rotate their stocks. I’ve also been in TSC's Fort Wayne location and they do not rotate their stock as well. So obviously, they don’t train their employees to rotate them and then you can get a bad bag. Instead, I tell my customers to go to Rural King. Other than that, Diamond Pet Food is great and when I call for a litter, they’re so good to me. I would absolutely recommend them to anybody.

My first litter of puppies was born April 10th and they are large breed mutts. I called Diamond Pet Foods, asked for samples, and they were kind enough to send some. I also bought a big bag of dog food because I was gonna be giving the samples to the people that were taking the puppies. I waited until the puppies were born before putting the mom on the puppy food.

The puppies weaned very early because there were so many of them. I started them on the puppy mix and they just thrived. I would soak it in water then feed it to them. By the fourth week, they were eating dry food and we managed to raise all 13 of them. They’re all alive and well. I really believe the Diamond food is what saved the litter from losing a lot of the pups. It increased and enriched the mom's milk supply, which was why the puppies did as well as they did. Then on June 10th, the mom's sister also had a large litter. She had 12 puppies and six survived. We still have three of them in the house. They have all been on Diamond and they are all fat and healthy. The girls that have gone home have all been fat, healthy, and ready to face the world as well. I would tell others to get their dogs on Diamond food immediately.

We started using Diamond Pet Foods to see if it would help keep a healthy weight on my larger dogs. My husband has Bloodhounds and I have Boston Terriers. We use the Naturals Large Breed and the Small Breed and the dogs maintain their weight a little bit better and they shed a bit less. We really love that Diamond sends out sample kits for the puppies. That way, we don't have to break into a larger bag to send it out. Plus, they have breeding information that goes along with it. I wish it was a little bit more economical with the way the economy is now.

I've been feeding my dogs with Diamond for eight years now. They seem to do really well on it, so we stuck with it. We breed Labradors and we normally have litters two to four times a year, depending on how many females we have going. We send the puppies to their new homes with Diamond samples and canine literature. I recommend the pet owners to continue feeding the puppies Diamond as it's a good dog food and it worked well for us. Both the mom and dad are on Diamond and they do well too.

We feed our dogs the Large Breed Puppy natural, grain-free pet food and I like the Naturals as it is better than the regular. My dogs like it and haven't had any problems. We had switched at one time to a very expensive dog food, but my oldest one gets allergies and keeps chewing her paws up. We put her back to Diamond and she did fine. Everybody has to choose what’s best for their dog and if their dog doesn’t do good on it, then they need to find something else. We’ve had good luck with Diamond. It's a good all-around dog food and we’ve been happy with it. Our puppies are good puppies and they grow well. Our dogs do very well on Diamond and I would recommend them.

We explored what was in the Diamond pet food and now, we've been using them for about six years. We have the purple Diamond Puppy Food for pregnant, lactating, puppies and moms. Then we also have the Diamond Naturals adult dog food with lamb meal and rice. We've got about five litters a year and our dogs have continued to grow and be active and playful. New owners prefer to have a small bag or two of the food so that they know what they're looking for and I always send Diamond samples home with them.

I’ve been breeding for 14 years and I was using Diamond Pet Foods for a couple years before I started breeding. It was recommended by the breeder that I got my dogs from. I breed Labs and they eat a lot. They range anywhere from 65 all the way up to 100. Normally, we usually have four litters a year and I send home with the new pet owners the Diamond sample packets every time I have them. I also recommend that they keep the puppies on Diamond Puppy until they get closer to a year, and then sometime between 10 and 12 months, they can switch them over to the adult version. I usually use the ones for the higher energy and I’ve always used the same stuff. I like the percentage of fats and protein and I like how the dogs look. Their poop looks very healthy. They don’t have runny poop. They don’t have stomach sensitivity to it. It is really good. They have shiny coats and bright eyes, and they are energetic. I highly recommend it.

Diamond offers grain-free dog food that's not chicken or beef. We average a litter a month between us and our co-owners, and every puppy leaves with Diamond samples. I also show the new parents pictures of our younger years when we used the exact same dogs and we were feeding something else, compared to our dogs now so that they understand that the quality's a lot better if you feed quality food. With Diamond, the dogs hold their weight better and their mesocolon is a lot better, especially with my elderly dogs. My very first show dog is 12 years old, and we had switched her over to a pro-plan that was formulated for elderly dogs and she lost 30 pounds. We moved her back over to Diamond even though I hadn't found a formula for elderly dogs, and she still holds her weight with it.

I use the grain-free natural and I use the white fish and sweet potato nine times out of 10. The dogs don't eat as much Diamond as they do everything else. It has more protein and calories in it so they eat less and they're full, whereas with some of the other foods, they would have to eat almost twice as much. It's also easier to send a sample that has the exact packaging to a customer than just put it in as a baggy and try to tell them what packaging to get. That makes a world of difference and I'm so glad they offer that.

I breed German Shepherd dogs and they have litters three times a year. I feed them Diamond's Lamb Meal & Rice formula because of the small kibble. I also use it for training and tracking. I have a female dog that at four and a half months old had to have two and a half feet of intestines removed. She lost part of her large and small intestines, cecum, and gallbladder. Our vet said she would have to be on a special diet for the rest of her life. It was hugely expensive and it didn’t settle well with her. Because it couldn't get much worse, I went ahead and fed her her normal food, which was Diamond beef at that time, and she did fantastically. I tested her, did a full GI workup every year just to make sure she’s absorbing nutrients and she’s almost perfect. She's now three and a half years old and you'd never know.

Other than that, I feed one of my puppies a good but expensive brand. But I was having problems with the puppy not wanting to eat. When it finally did, it had diarrhea. I bought it back home, put it back on Diamond and it did fine. I'm a die-hard Diamond fan. I like the ingredients, the availability, and the price point. I keep my dogs lean for health reasons but with Diamond, they really fill out. I don't have to pour a ton of food on them. They just utilize what they're getting. And almost everybody who got home samples from me has continued using Diamond.

We have three to four litters of Labrador Retrievers a year. I had contacted Diamond and was able to receive some sample packets. Another litter will be leaving in two weeks and the pups each have two packages in their little puppy bags that I make to send home with them. Diamond sent me some literature on all their products as well and I have recommended them to all my clients. I like their product. The dogs have a good poop and a nice, shiny coat. However, about two or three years ago, I read an article where Purina was one of the top brands, but one of the lowest quality foods. I also did a little bit of research and talked to a representative at our local Farm and Home Store. They recommended Diamond and I went back to it because I used it in the past, it's good quality, and it doesn't break the bank.

I also like their Naturals products. They have less grain than the regular dog food and I haven’t had any issues with loose stools or any kind of digestion problems on the Diamond food. So I recommend it to my buyers. Also, neither of my dogs are particularly overweight and I haven’t had any health issues with any of them. They’re good, healthy, and lean dogs.

I breed Golden Retrievers and Labrador Retrievers and I was feeding the adults Diamond Naturals, the beef and the chicken ones. I also used the Puppy variant. However, I switched to Life's Abundance, which is a holistic food. They were also convenient since they're being shipped to us directly from the manufacturer. There’s no shelf life. Though they're more expensive than Diamond, the price is being offset because they pay us, the representatives of their company, commissions on all the sales.

Also, like the idea that they use vegetables and probiotics and they use USA-based meat. I had a litter of six puppies and wanted to send them all home with Diamond. I had both 80 pounds of it when I had my puppies. I have some leftover but my adults are eating it until I put them back on their Skin and Coat. Diamond has been very prompt about getting it back to me and thanking me for using their products.

Diamond Pet Foods has always been good. I heard so much good about the quality of the product and its protein content initially. Now, whenever I'm whelping Beagle puppies, I use this brand as it kind of gives them a good boost. I breed and raise my own Beagles to hunt with, and then I raise them and get them started. Then I pick through them once they get around one to two years old.

I like the Diamond Puppy food. I also usually use Diamond Premium Adult and Diamond Performance. The Diamond Performance variant muscles the dog up and makes their skin coat good. The dogs like it too. Then when you go to run a dog really hard day after day, the pet food just seems to hold the dog up pretty good. But since each dog has their own needs, you need still need to watch what you're feeding and how much it's eating then adjust it.

In addition, Diamond's team has always been treating me pretty well. They’ve always sent me the sample bags to try whenever I wanna try some, and in the past, they've sent me a hat. They're knowledgeable people as well. I'd tell my friends to try Diamond and give it a good little amount of time for the dog to get used to it. My brother was raising a few dogs and puppies and he was using Diamond Dog Food so I tried it and I've been using it ever since. I'm a licensed breeder and I've been using the brand for 10 years. It's good for the puppies' little stomachs and they have good stool. I would mix it up with some warm water and put it in a bowl. The puppies would start eating it and lapping the juice. Then they would start going to the bowl with their mother and eating it dry. So whenever I send the puppies home at eight weeks old they're eating dry dog food.

I buy the Diamond Natural Puppy and I get the little six-pound bags for my customers. I tell them it's good food and it's all natural -- no corn and no wheat. I put in packs for my little puppies to go when they go home. The only complaint I have is why they couldn't just get the 40-pound bag for me to feed to my puppies and mothers. I couldn't get it anywhere, like Tractor Supply or Atwood's or any of the pet stores don't carry it. They carry an 18-pound bag but now my feed store orders the 40-pound bag for me. You can get a 40-pound bag of the Diamond Puppy, which is in pink and purple bags and it says for puppies and mothers but you can't get the Diamond Natural Small Breed Puppy. Also, they look like they're in tiptop shape almost all the time. Usually, after my female gives birth I pump into her as much as she could eat and she comes back to condition quickly. I've been breeding dogs for 15 years and up until three years ago, I was using Diamond Pet Foods. However, my Golden Retrievers wouldn't come into heat. Three that have come into heat, but not very well and they never came into standing. The vet said to use Royal Canin and I found out that Royal Canin has the same balance of calcium and phosphorus in it. Some breeders up in Pennsylvania talked to a guy there who said that he hasn't had any problems so I went through it. Within three months, it worked and they came into heat then.

The Diamond seems to be doing okay on my small dogs, and I continue to use Diamond Puppy and even Diamond Premium for my Goldendoodles that are 30 pounds and down. But for my big Golden Retrievers, I won't use Diamond. I'm gonna go back to Royal Canin and I'm certain that they're gonna come into heat. With Royal Canin Starter, my dogs will put on more weight than they will with the Diamond Puppy, but the problem is the cost. But I just can't go without puppies and I've lost a lot of money when it's happened to three of my dogs.

I'm satisfied with Diamond's service but there's just one hitch here that I'm gonna go back to Royal Canin on my dogs to make certain that everything is gonna be okay. But there was a problem with Royal Canin and they got hit with some cyber-attack. We couldn't get anything except poor service getting a hold of anybody so I went over to Diamond when I found out on research that Diamond had the right proportion. But I'd like them to look at the calcium-phosphorus ratio and readjust their recipe ingredients because in my understanding, that is what causes the dogs to come into heat.

    Ellis,
Thanks for the review. I breed French Mastiffs and feed them Diamond Premium. I'm curious as to who has been saying infertility/lack of heat cycles is due to Ca:P ratios as there is no research whatsoever that suggests that. As you noted most pet food manufactures have the same ratio in the food they make. Irregular/no heat cycles may have to do with environmental contaminants or infections such as brucella. I know you mentioned losing money by not having litters to sell but if you currently aren't working with a veterinarian I would recommend that you do to further investigate what might be going on with your breeding dogs

We've been using Diamond Pet Foods for 30 years now. It was recommended by the breeders that I bought my Rottweilers from. It was very hard to find back in the 80's but I was lucky enough to find a farmer who had a little feed store and he would order it for me. I originally used to always use the green or the yellow bag, depending on what breed of dog I had, but as I switched from Rottweilers and German Shepherds and Boxers to Chihuahuas, I require a lot smaller kibble. And so, we have switched to the Naturals in which you do offer an adult small kibble. However, not everybody around here carries it. I just started breeding Chihuahuas so I just had one litter, so far. The lady that I talked to sent me the one type of puppy food as well as the Diamond Natural Puppy food, so I got the purple bag and the white and navy blue bag. However, I can’t find any puppy bag bigger than a 6-pound bag.

My son is in the military so his Corso dog is here as well. He’s a big boy, about 125 pounds. He was the runt of the litter and my son got him because somebody was using him at four weeks old as bait in the city. So, when we brought him here, he had a lot of health issues. I went from the regular Diamond food which seemed to be okay, but he was having stomach issues, so I went to the lamb and rice of the Diamond Natural. I tried a lot of different lamb and rice because they didn’t carry Diamond Natural where I always got my feed at.

So, after I tried all that, I happened to go to a different pet store. The Pet Supplies Plus carried the lamb and rice Naturals and I switched him to that, and the problem went out. Otherwise, any other food that I had him on I also had to feed him with pumpkin, and he had to have peanut butter supplemented in there, and hard boiled eggs. One of the things that I love about Diamond Naturals is that there is no extra supplements that you have to add to it. Everything’s in there and they do well on it. He had a wicked stomach and there’s just something about the Diamond Natural’s lamb and rice that he does very well on. And he has been on it since he’s been here, and he’s six now.

Furthermore, I'd like to be able to get my bag of food, and if I’ve got a problem with it, I wanna know where I got it from. I don’t wanna order it from a warehouse because it’s been sitting in there for how long. And I definitely like the plastic type bags. It’s a lot more sturdier and easier. Sometimes, I have to drag it through the house because I’m not very strong and the bags that were made in paper layers sometimes would tear at the bottom, but the plastic type doesn’t. It’d be nice though if they make other animal feeds too because we work with a rescue on a ranch so we get a lot of animals like turkeys, chickens, donkeys and horses. It would be great though to be notified any time they come out with new products.

With Diamond Pet Food, my dogs don’t get sick at all. I have no problem with running stool and there isn’t a lot of excess stool. My dogs poop twice a day and it’s manageable. I just wish I could find the Adult Small Breed formula in a bigger bag. I looked yesterday and I was told that I could find it in Michigan. I went on to the Pet Supplies Plus up in Michigan and that’s where they showed me that they had a 6-pound bag and an 18-pound bag of the Adult Small Breed. I could order it from them and have it shipped here.

Diamond is an affordable pet food that gives me a decent quality food for the price. I breed dogs such as Poodles and English Bulldogs and I send Diamond Naturals home with the puppies. However, Diamond could change their formula as there might be a bit too much moisture content since the dogs' stools are softer than a few other brands I’ve tried. The dogs won’t even touch some of Diamond's cheaper dog foods. The dogs' soft stools make it harder to clean up when I have numerous dogs. Nevertheless, Diamond is an excellent choice all around. I've been using it for my dogs for 15 years now. It is a very palatable dog food, which is important since I want my dogs to like the food. It should be the #1 breeder dog food out there and I recommend it to everybody I sell to.

We have golden retrievers and their coat always looks really good while they're on Diamond dog food. They also maintain a good weight. Sometimes it's harder for some of the adult dogs to gain weight once we change their food. I contact the store when I have a litter. If they have it, they will send me a sample to send home with each person that's buying a puppy along with a brochure. I inform my customers that's what my adults are on and that's what their puppies have been started on and that I recommend that they keep them on it at least for the first year.

With my pregnant and nursing mothers and the puppies, we use the Diamond Puppy formula in the hot pink and purple bag. Then with my other adult dogs, we use the maintenance, which is the green and yellow bag. When we tried to switch to a different brand of food, we noticed there had been times that their coat just looked brittle and not as shiny when it was healthy.

The puppies by the time that they go home at eight weeks of age, are at a very healthy weight and they continue to grow steadily. That has to do with being on a good quality puppy food. I would always recommend Diamond to our friends and to other breeders but their breeder program could be a little bit better. Other than that, I don't have any complaints at all.

For the past 15 years, I have been feeding Diamond to my Springers. We left at one point because they pulled them all off the shelves when there was a Salmonella outbreak. But then, they couldn’t find it so we went back to Diamond. I like its high protein content and the fact that it’s made locally here in South Carolina area. It’s a great solid food. It’s a much better, healthier choice for the same prices you will get with some of the store brands.

I usually have at least one litter a year. And although my dogs may overeat on the other foods, they tend not to do that on the Diamond food because of its higher protein content. It fills them up more so they don’t feel as hungry. The 15 years I’ve been breeding, I’ve never had any of my dogs overweight. I’ve free fed all of my dogs with the exception of one that came from a puppy farm. My vet loves my dogs and he loves the coat that they have. Whenever I bring my dogs to him, he always tells me to keep doing whatever I'm doing because my dogs look great. Their coats are nice, shiny and a lot softer than a lot of the other dogs' coats. Everyone comments that my dogs’ fur is like a puppy fur still.

Instead, I use Diamond Naturals Small Breed Puppy and Diamond Naturals Lamb & Rice. My dogs like these variants. I have some picky dogs and they look good when they eat it. It makes them have a nice and shiny coat. I breed Australian Shepherds and corgis and I get one or two litters a month. I send the puppies home with two or three bags of the sample food and I recommend that the new owners stay on Diamond Puppy.

I've been using Diamond Pet Foods since 2012. I have a large breed dog and they have large breed puppy food. I read the label and I liked what I read. At some point in time, these dogs were eating something different. When I switched to Diamond Natural Large Breed Puppy, the one in the pink bag, I could see a visible difference in the puppies' hair and coat. The dogs digested it well and with it, the puppies' eyes and teeth appear to be healthy. Plus, when I had a large number of puppies in a pan, the fecal odor was less. If I fed them Purina Puppy Chow, it was stinky, which means it was not being digested as well.

I breed an NALC-registered Catahoula Cur. I've had two litters this year and two last year. Prior to this last litter, I bought a case of the small bag and sent the puppies home with that. I read on Diamond's website that they would send you samples, so I wrote and they sent me samples for my last litter. I've sent them all home with samples and the literature.

I have two sources where I buy my food. One is my local feed store and the other one is Tractor Supply. In the course of this last litter, I noticed that the puppies would periodically get diarrhea. At one point I thought the formula of the Diamond Naturals was changed. I feed using automatic feeders and when I dumped the feed bag out, there was mold in the bottom. I asked my daughter where the bag came from and it came from Tractor Supply. What I have experienced with my horse feed is that Tractor Supply doesn't have proper storage for feed. They'll have the feed on pallets and they shrink wrap the pallets. Those pallets will sit outside in all the elements, whether it was hot, cold, sunshine or rain. Then the foods get mold. Diamond may wanna have some restrictions and controls about the storage of their feed from the plant to the consumption point.

We've used Diamond dog food for five years and I like the puppy large breed. We have Dobermans and we're looking at their muscles and coat. With this dog food, our dog had the best coat. Our black Dobermans always shine no matter what they're on. However, with our red Doberman, it's harder for its coat to be shiny again. Still, with the Diamond pet food, it worked out for the dog.

We have two litters a year and we just started sending the puppies with Diamond samples last month. I have to put it in a zip lock bag, which was terrible and tacky. I usually send the puppies with a week's supply of food. Last month, I contacted Diamond about sending samples because I can't find the one that we feed our puppies in the small bag and Diamond was able to accommodate that. Their staff were helpful and took all my opinions into account. They answered all my questions, got back to me quickly and I was a bit happy about that. They sent their pamphlets as well. I have been using Diamond for the past three years. It's like a normal grain-free food and the cost was a lot cheaper. It worked out best for my American Bullies and French Bulldogs that I breed. I've noticed that their coat gets a lot shinier, and their stools aren't watery or too hard. They don't have gas on their stools as well.

We usually have litters three to four times and I've been requesting a sample for every litter which takes them up to a month to send it to me. They told me that they can send my first set of samples. But then, I would have to request them from a distributor for my second sample. I live in a town where they don't have other stores that offer that samples so I don't have any of that. Still, I recommend Diamond to the new owners as it would help them a lot more so the puppies don't develop diarrhea or stomach issues if they switch them over. And for most of the puppies that I placed in their new homes, their owners think they need to feed them Diamond food.

I have been using Diamond Pet Food for about eight years now and my dog, a French Mastiff - Dogue de Bordeaux that is allergic to corn, always likes it and goes really well on it. Every other easily available dog food is corn-based. There are lots of corn alternative dog foods out there, but you gotta go to a specialty pet store. With Diamond, you can always find it either at the store or at the feed store. I love that Diamond is easily available. I would have up to three litters in a year and when I send the puppies to their new home, I recommend the new owners to continue using Diamond. If there's something that Diamond could improve on, it's their Large Breed. There’s no calcium in it so I keep my dogs on their Small Breed Puppy for their whole lives because it’s the only one that they have that has calcium.

I have been using Diamond Pet Foods since 1991. I started out with Dobermans in the beginning and I was given a list of different brands to feed them. And the kennel I got them was where I got my first bag of Diamond from. She said she fed it to all of her Dobermans because that seemed to work the best and it was economical when you have a large group of dogs.

Then, I progressed past several different breeds of dogs, primarily Dobermans and Shepherds, but for the last 10 years, I've had just English Mastiff and once they become full-grown adults, they go through one large bag a month per dog. Right now, with having four of them, I go through a bag every four days. So far, my dogs don't have any health problems at all. They don't lose weight but gain appropriately. They don't eat a lot, so food is out at all time and there's never a challenge for food. Also, I've always pre-fed my dogs and I find that pre-feeding them makes them not so aggressive and they decide what pattern they want to be on, so they're not trying to force themselves to eat to your schedule.

I've always had a good experience with Diamond. I like them and I've never had any problems with the dog food. I also call Diamond's toll free number and get puppy packs for when I have puppies and they send me puppy packs with extra little bags that look like the regular bags to go home. The first time I did it, they needed to sign me up as a breeder. When I lived up in Northeast Kansas, they had where I could buy directly from a wholesaler. Then, I moved to South Central Kansas and they don't have any of those in my area now that has an exclusive contract. So they changed their policy and I can't buy in bulk from a wholesaler anymore.

I recommend Diamond to everyone when I sell my puppies. I had a buyer in Bethel, Alaska that could not access the puppy food, so she stuck her dogs on Blue Diamond dog food. And I've had several potential puppy owners say that that was recommended to them also but I told them that I was not switching. However, I give them enough Diamond puppy food and the dogs can transition from that to another dog food easily. Also, some of the cheaper brands at Wal-Mart have so many fillers in them that the dogs poop a lot. But with Diamond, I don't have that problem, so I sorta brag about it. And if Diamond was sold at Wal-Mart, I would have no problems buying it. But I am specific and exclusive to the brand, so I stick to it. And I know that other brands are coming out with natural products and all these other different ingredients, but I stick to the same stuff I've been using since '91. When it works, why change it?

I usually have one litter a year from the Saint Berdoodles and from the Goldens, I’ll have two to four a year. The puppies and pregnant moms get the large breed Diamond Naturals lamb and rice. I’ve had really expensive foods for the puppies, and they always had runny poops. With Diamond, however, they have nice dog poop.

Also, I like that Diamond gives out free samples but they’re so small. I always give my customers either half-gallon or gallon-sized bag extra because those samples are like a snack for the puppies I’m breeding. Even if Diamond had an option for a 10-pound bag for breeders to give to their customers, I’d pay for that. However, I asked Diamond when I first signed up whether they had something like that and they said they don't.

We switched to Diamond Dog Food six years ago and it has higher quality but not as expensive as some of the other brands. We breed Mini and Toy Australian Shepherds. They’re herding dogs but they’re a miniature size so they have a lot of qualities that people want than a full-sized dog. They are very protective and very loyal. When we started breeding dogs or I would sell a puppy, the owners get a little package. I would do a baggy of the Diamond, although it looks a lot nicer to actually give them the little free sample which I requested to go with the litter. Diamond sends me two little sample bags per puppy and I send that along with the pamphlets and also a comfort blanket that has the mother’s scent.

We got the Diamond Naturals for our adult dogs as we felt that it is more of a better quality, and also, our dogs love it. The only thing we have a problem with is that we have one dog that’s overweight and she’s a small dog. We're trying to find the weight management for small breeds, ‘cause it’s a smaller morsel of food but it’s hard to find. We breed the English Mix labs and we have a total of seven litters this year. My dogs were on Blue Buffalo first but for the price and quality, I was buying dog food so much and I couldn’t justify going through that much. I went to Taste of the Wild and their stool was a little loose on it especially the puppies. I found out Diamond Pet Foods while shopping through Menards. I gave it a try and it was the one that worked best for us. I’ve been using it for a year and a half. Whenever I send the dogs to their new home, I recommend Diamond Naturals. Also, I’ve recommended any of my past customers that were on Blue Buffalo to switch as well. I send samples home if they haven’t bought any of the food yet. I recommend the All Life Stages and that way they don't have to switch their puppy out once they turn eight months to a year.

All my dogs are on the Diamond Naturals All Life Stages, but my one male is on the Extreme Athlete because he needs a higher Calorie-Protein intake. Sometimes I supplement all my females with the Extreme Athlete, but it's very rare that I have to because they are still nursing on All Life Stages. One of my females has to cut back because she gets too fat when I increase her food. We own Charcoals and Silvers as well and the commonly diluted labs can have skin issues and a lot of allergies. With Diamond, I don’t have to supplement anything with my Charcoals or Silvers. They have great thick coats and they are all shiny. Their stools are firm unless they get worms and they have no build-up on their teeth. They have healthy muscles and joints.

I would recommend Diamond because I have a great walk with it. Usually, when a breeder recommends a pet food, a lot of the clients stick with it. And when people see my dogs and see how well they are, how their coats are nice and shiny, they're gonna stick with what we recommend because they see the results for themselves when they come to pick their puppy. I've had people telling me to use Life Abundance but I'm not paying $80 a bag for dog food which is the exact same quality as what I'm feeding my dogs now.

I’ve been breeding large working dogs. Previously, I had Doberman and German Shepherd. Currently, I have Mastiff and Rottweiler. When you have a large breed dog, you need to make sure that you’re building a good frame and putting muscle on it. Diamond does very well in that regard. It helps with producing muscle mass and bone. Plus the dogs enjoy eating it. The palatability is superior and my research has been based on over 20 years. Diamond has performed right there with all of the other top brands. As a matter of fact, their performance exceeds many of the brands that are priced higher in the pet food specialty stores. The food I try to use most is the Performance and the Large Breed Puppy but it depends on availability. Sometimes when you go into stores like Tractor Supply, they don’t have all the products that Diamond produces.

When people come to purchase a puppy, they immediately want to know what you’re feeding your dogs. When you give them a verbal reply, that’s good. But when you put the actual product in their hand, that effect increases dramatically. So sampling always works out very well. And most of the people who leave with a sample end up purchasing the product on an ongoing basis, depending on availability. Another benefit when they receive the puppy and the product samples is that there’s also a brochure that comes with the sample. All of the ingredients are right there and it explains everything that’s in the product. And that’s a very complimentary thing on Diamond’s part.

Every dog at my kennel has been raised on Diamond Pet Foods for about 15 years. I like the consistency of the product. Years ago, I had another product that I had been using for about 12 years and it was a very successful small company. It got bought up by a big conglomerate and the first thing they did was change the ingredients. Anybody that raises dogs hates that because dogs have extremely delicate digestive systems. Dogs can eat garbage but if they're used to eating garbage, that's fine. But if you take a dog that's been eating a certain food for years and throw even the smallest change in there, that kennel owner is gonna be cleaning a lot of kennels because the dogs will repaint your floors for you and I hate that.

For six years before that, we made our own food. I was friends with a guy and we had a dog food company of our own. We made food for our Shepherds and about 15 other kennels and they were trying to grow just like everybody does when they get started. We had a very good product and it was very consistent. We always used exactly the same ingredients and it was high-quality and we did that especially because it was for our own dogs. At that time, I had about 11 dogs but he had a whole kennel of about 30 and we needed consistency and the dogs were working Shepherds. They were Schutzhund dogs, so they were on trials and tracking, heavy training, and that kind of work demands high protein and digestible protein.

When the guy that we went into this partnership with turned out to be a crook and disappeared with the recipe and our money, we had to scramble. We tried Iams and it was good for two years. Then they did what we hate. They got a new guy in their lab who said that he could make the dog food cheaper. Though they made it cheaper, they were poisoning a lot of dogs because we found out that they were putting freeze-dried ground up tires in their food. The chemist that they hired in their lab to do this should have gone to cooking school because we all know that when you heat products up to a certain temperature, things change.

In this case, the rubber that makes these tires is perfectly okay for you and me to pass through our systems without releasing the toxins if it was ground up and powdered. At 400 degrees, the chemicals break down and all of the dangerous chemicals are released and dog food is baked at 450 degrees, so all the chemicals got released. They didn't know this and they killed a lot of dogs and we were petrified. We immediately took it out of our kennels, threw dog food away, and went to a different brand.

Then, I found National Dog Food up in New Holstein. I was picking up fox food for a friend of mine who had a fox farm and National Fur Food products made fur foods. I have never seen it before and the guy said that it is because they sell about 95% of it to the sled dogs in Alaska. My brain immediately told me that sled dogs are hardworking dogs.

The guy told me that it's highly digestible, high-protein dog food and that they make 30% brand for working trail dogs, 26% working dog food and a 24% maintenance. So, I talked to him a little bit and he gave me a 50-pound bag and I liked his sales pitch. I told him I have a 50-pound bag as a joke because I'll feed that out in two days and I won't know any results because in two days, I won't see anything. But he said to only feed it to my hardest keeper, the dog that just doesn't have a good coat and doesn't put weight on. He knew his stuff. That dog grew a new coat and she was beautiful. So, we fed that for years and then they got bought up by a conglomerate and they immediately changed the recipe. They're using cheaper products and I immediately went into a panic.

At that time, I had 22 dogs. I had a friend who also raises German Shepherds and she was feeding Diamond Peet Foods. Many years ago, Diamond had a bad reputation with dogs getting bloat. They had a problem with changing their recipe repeatedly, so I was scared to feed Diamond years ago. She told me that Diamond has changed, that they've really come around, and that they've got this new product called Diamond Naturals that has no additives. She asked me to look at her dogs, so I went over to her house and the dogs were beautiful. They got really nice and smooth coats. I then picked up five bags and I told my wife that we were gonna have a little bit of a clean-up situation for a week. But we didn't. It only lasted two days and the dogs were settled which was impressive. And I've been feeding Diamond Pet Foods since.

Every dog here at my kennel right now, my very oldest dog to my puppies that are outside, have been raised on it. Both our studs have been raised on it. Jake was born and raised on it. He was born here and out of parents who were raised on that food before that. They have fabulous bone. Both of my studs passed their OFAs and in the last 15 years, we have only had four people call us back with hip problems with our dogs and part of that hip problem thing is nutrition. Not every dog can eat Diamond though. We have three dogs here that don't. They get loose stools but it's nothing with the dog food. Each of us has different digestive systems. We have certain foods that we can't eat, that everybody else can. Dogs are just the same. They have certain foods that bother their systems.

One of them is our house stud. He was raised on Diamond and he did great on it. But at about five years old, he started developing a skin rash and we traced it down to the grains used in the food. We went to a grain-free food for him and he's fine. Sam, our second stud wasn't raised by us as a puppy but he was raised on Diamond ever since he was seven weeks old. We took him off of it this year because he got some terrible skin rashes between his toes and his feet swell up and bleed. We're trying grain-free for him now and it seems to be working. I would like to see Diamond come up with grain-free dog food in the 24% to 26% area. That is what we feed here at our kennels and I would switch all of my dogs to it. I understand that something like that might be a little more expensive than what I'm buying now but if they can find a way of getting it reasonably priced, I wanna do that for my kennel and for my clients.

My dogs are beautiful and my wife and I are both very happy with Diamond Pet Foods. We get a lot of puppy kits from Diamond because we make approximately six to eight litters a year. They're all from here but two of my daughters have dogs and we sell their puppies for them. I've been doing this for 35 years and we have very fertile studs and our litters are averaging 10 very healthy puppies which is far above the average of seven. So, we also get large litters with Diamond Naturals. We recommend it to all of our clients. We have two other kennels that are feeding it now, so we have spread the word.

Diamond is a great dog food and I love it. The oldest of my American Bullies is five years old now, so I've been using Diamond for five years too. I’ve used a couple of their formulations like the one in the the green bag, the yellow bag and also the black bag which is the performance bag. Then I just started on the red bag, the Hi-Energy formulation. Right now, I have three puppies that are still on the puppy bag. Diamond keeps my dogs healthy, energized and their coat shiny. We started on using their dog food after my husband had seen how it made his cousin's dog look. A lot of people recommended it to us as well. My dad is into cheap dog food and even though I recommended Diamond to him and he likes the results of it, he just doesn’t like its price. Still, I’d recommend Diamond to everyone.

I have been using Diamond Dog Food for the Labradors for a few years now. Diamond has a variety of flavors. I often us the all natural variant that is in a purple bag. Whenever I send the puppies to their new homes, I send some samples with them. Also, I put the moms on a puppy food for a couple of weeks before they have the puppies. I recommend the food to the new owners of the dogs and half of them continue to feed them that. If the new owners switch, then they should feed the puppies half of the Diamond food for a few days. However, it would be better if the Diamond bags are waterproof instead of them being paper. Nevertheless, I like Diamond Dog Food because the puppies are really healthy and have good coats.

I have been using Diamond for my Pembroke Welsh Corgis. I like Diamond's formula for the nursing mothers and puppies. It’s something that I can start my females on as soon as I have bred them, and it can last throughout the whelping and the weaning. I’ve had phenomenal luck with it and my puppies do well with it too. Also, my females keep their weight, which is very important after whelping. Moreover, I send an email to Diamond when I've had a litter and they send the free samples. I give those to my puppy parents along with the brochures that Diamond provides. I’ve been very pleased with them and I will not ever switch or think of it.

I raise Goldendoodles and Cavapoos and I use the Diamond Naturals Chicken. I like the one with no corn or wheat. I tried another dog food before this for about three months and my dogs went downhill. Their coats were nasty and they had yucky teeth, so I stopped with that food immediately and went back to Diamond. It has better quality and I’ve been using it for ten years now.

We have been using Diamond for our dogs for close to 5 years now. I don’t believe in grain-free and Diamond has a practical price. I breed French Bulldogs abd they’re about 25 pounds. Each one eats about a cup a day. I use either the Chicken Naturals or the Maintenance, and I sometimes mix those for the adults. I like that they have solid poops. I also like that I get samples to send home with my puppies as I have two litters every two months. Diamond is great for the dogs' health and I love it.

We have been using Diamond Pet Foods since 2011. I like the price and what is in the food. I have a St. Bernard and I have litters depending on if we let them breed. You can do it twice a year, but we usually do it once. Right now, we have the Diamond Puppy which is in the purple and fuchsia. And we have seven adults which we feed with Hi-Energy, the green and the mauve. For the adults, we went with that formulation because of the price and they seem to like it better. But I also love the Original which they really like but it is very hard to find. I'd recommend Diamond. It is the best food out there and I love it. With Diamond, my dogs are healthy.

Diamond Naturals is a good quality food and I like it because it’s a grain-free, soy-free food. I’ve used other feeds like Blue Buffalo and Taste of the Wild and I also like those foods. I would feed those foods if their prices weren’t so high. I use 80 pounds of puppy food a month and I order my Diamond Naturals dog food through Chewy.com. It is the only place I can get the 40-pound bag of the Small Breed Puppy dog food. I raise Pomeranians for showing and I've been using Diamond Naturals for Small Breed Puppy for about 15 years now. I have beautiful-coated dogs and the puppies are also strong and healthy when they are born. I recommend that anyone who purchases a puppy from me to continue to use the Diamond Naturals Small Breed dog food. And when my puppies leave here, they also go home with a gallon-sized bag of the Puppy dog food.

We started using Diamond Pet Foods about five years ago. When we got our Great Dane dog, he was on Diamond and so we just stayed with it. We've gone back and forth between Diamond and Victor, and both are good foods. We breed Great Dane dogs and we have litters about six times a year. The dogs quit eating Victor, and so we went back to Diamond, and they've never stopped eating it. They stay healthy. Also, we got a sample box from Diamond to send with the puppies. This last time, we just got our own bag where we can fill them up with the food. Getting those samples wasn't that bad. It just took a really long time. I had asked them a month earlier and they didn't come in time and some of the puppies had already left. Even so, the dogs like the Diamond food and it has been good for them. I recommend this brand to all the people that we sell our puppies to.

We've been using Diamond Pet Foods for as long as I remember. We breed Border Collies and we used to try all other kinds of dog foods which weren't adequate. The puppies would eat and poop, eat and poop. It was terrible and they didn't gain weight right. But Diamond has good things in their products. A lot of great Border Collies started out on their food, like Gracie the Bark Ranger, the dog that works up at Glacier National Park. With Diamond foods, the dogs eat a good meal, they poop when they’re supposed to, and they have great weight gain. I give samples to the people who get our puppies, as well as the brochure. The dogs also don't have to eat a huge amount to have the sustained ability to look good. Their coats look good, their teeth are good, and they are healthy. My dogs are getting past 14 years, whereas other dogs, at 10, have cancer. Also, Diamond hasn't had a recall where they panic everyone and people had to figure out what they fed their dogs.

I don’t put anything in my body that’s not good and I try to feed my dogs like that. We may have spent a little bit more money, but in the long run, if their lives are better and they’re happier and their joints are good, it’s worth it. I use Diamond's purple and the pink bag for the puppies right out of the vet, then when they get bigger, I switch them to Naturals Puppy. I feed the adults Naturals and they like the beef and chicken flavors. However, they're not thrilled about the lamb. Still, I always recommend Diamond. Give it a good one month and you'll see a difference.

We breed Cocker Spaniels and Cockapoos. Right now, we have about two litters a year and we’re trying to get up to three. Whenever we send the dogs to their new homes, we also send them samples of Diamond. I tell the pet owners that it is a decent quality dog food and it is not overly expensive. We’ve been using Diamond for four years and have kept them for its value. We have been using the Naturals but recently, our puppies didn’t take the Naturals well. We ended up in the regular Diamond puppy food. When breeding throughout, it is important to have good health. And having litters, it starts on the body so if they didn’t have good nutrition going into a pregnancy and coming out of it, we would not have the high-quality puppy that we have.

I switched to Diamond Naturals when Premium Edge was discontinued in the market. I use the Diamond Naturals Small Breed for my Shih Tzu dogs. Their food size is great for the puppies who have really tiny mouths and teeth, and they all seemed to like it just fine. I have five females and they usually have a litter once a year. The guy I get my dog food from orders the little packets, so I send them home with the puppies and recommend that food too.

So far, I've been satisfied with Diamond. My dogs are all healthy. They have nice poop consistency, their coats are fine and they all have consistent weight. My oldest right now will be 15 in October. I looked on the Dog Food Advisor and for the small breed for a puppy and a dog, Diamond is rated a 4.5 out of 5 star, which I'm looking for good nutrition at a reasonable rate because some of the foods for a 40-pound bag is almost $100. I do recommend Diamond. In fact, I have a website for my puppies and I even put on there that Diamond is what I use.

I was using Arion and wanted to find a different food. A puppy that I got from a breeder was on Diamond and it was rated better. I order Diamond off of Chewy now and for my puppies, I use the Large Breed Puppy. For adult dogs, I use the Salmon & Sweet Potato or Beef & Sweet Potato which are grain-free. I have a litter of sheepadoodles eight or nine times a year and I send them home with samples so the new owners can see what's in the food. The samples are smaller bags and I give them a big baggie full of it. I've been very happy with Diamond. It is a good large breed puppy food. I've got a couple of picky eater dogs and they seem to like it. They're also all healthy so the food is good for that reason.

I use Diamond Maintenance for my older dogs and Diamond Puppy for the puppies. I breed Miniature Dachshunds and most of the time I have 10 or 11 litters per year. But this time, all six of my females came in at the same time, so I had 36 litters. And when I send the puppies to their new homes, I send Diamond samples with them and recommend that the new parents continue feeding them with it.

We have been using Diamond Dog Food for about four years now. We were at the vet when he was telling us that Diamond has less fillers in it. Also, with the large dogs, the food slows down how much weight we got to pick up, too. We raise Siberian Huskies and we have about four litters a year. Also, we give out Diamond food sample bags to people who are buying our puppies from us. We used to just put some puppy food in zip locks and give it to our customers. We recommend them to continue feeding the puppies with this food. This last litter we had, Diamond sent us these little sample bags with their brochure.

Being able to give those to our customers is a whole lot nicer and professional. Of course, it helps Diamond, too. So the customers have all the information on how to get their food. We have been using the Diamond food in a purple bag and the one with high protein for the dogs. Their coats are shinier and they’re healthier looking.

I've used Diamond Pet Foods for the majority of 17 years. I switched a few times but I always went back to Diamond. I’ve researched Diamond Puppy food and it has got a lot of good stuff in it. Other pet food brands have too much corn and fillers, and I don’t like any of those. I breed Beagles and I have litters three or four times a year. I use Diamond Puppy in the purple bag for the puppies. For the adults, I was giving them Diamond Naturals lamb and rice and then I switched them to beef and rice. I got two senior dogs that got up in years and I kept going back to Diamond for them too unless they needed a prescription food. And Diamond was a way better food for them as well. Diamond keeps my dogs healthier and it’s not expensive. I’ve been feeding it for years and my dogs all do good on it.

I always recommend that new owners feed their dogs Diamond pet foods. I give them the pamphlet that Diamond sends with the samples of puppy food and tell them that that’s what the dogs have been on and that they should be on it for a full year and then switch to Diamond Dog Food. A lot of them follow through with that but some of them don't because they want a cheaper dog food.
