We normally have about one litter of puppies a year and Diamond has been really good about getting us samples to give to our buyers. However, our dogs seem to be getting sick of the Diamond food. They seem to be kind of over the flavors and they’re not eating that very well and so we mix chicken with it. It might be nice to come up with a new flavor or spice up the flavor a little bit to where the dogs like a little better. We do the Chicken & Rice and the Lamb & Rice but the dogs rarely eat the Lamb & Rice anymore.
I thought about switching food recently just because they’re just not eating the Diamond food like they should. We have really big animals and I want them to eat their food. Nevertheless, we’ve got healthy dogs. Diamond is a good quality food and the price point is really good. That’s a good selling point too because when you’re feeding Great Danes, you’re feeding a big dog that eat a lot of food. And when you’ve got somebody buying a puppy, they know they’re gonna end up trying to spend quite a bit on food. I always tell them that for the money, Diamond has the best quality.

I work with Ragdolls and I've been using the Diamond brand for about seven years. I used Royal Canin before but we switched because of the pricing and the availability of getting it. I purchase Diamond from Tractor Supply and I am quite happy with the ingredients, the way the kittens grow and the price point. I would tell others to use it as well.

I like that Diamond keeps our Cavaliers' coats nice and shiny. Aside from that, cavaliers are notorious for being overweight and I could free feed them and none of them gets fat. I use the Diamond Naturals for my adults and the Purple puppy food for the puppies. Normally, we have three litters a year. I used to have to Ziploc baby food for them and then I found out about the Diamond samples. It works so much nicer and looks more professional. I love that program. Also, when you're feeding a vast majority of adults, it could get expensive and it's nice that Diamond has a good quality for an affordable price versus some of the other ones that are double the price. I have been using Diamond for about 15 years now and I always recommend them.

I had Chihuahua puppies and it was our first litter. Other breeders recommended Diamond for the puppies. I'm using the Naturals brand, specifically the chicken and rice and the lamb and rice. Their coats are really good and they don’t have any stomach issues. I also have two Great Danes that eat it too. One tends to have reactions to certain foods and she seems fine on it. It’s been a good experience with Diamond and I recommend it to people. I gave everybody whom I sold puppies to samples of the dog food and told them to feed that. I also recommended it to my mother because her dog has an allergy.

I've been using Diamond for about 20 years now. That's all I use. I breed little Yorkies and Poodle and they do real well on it and I get their puppy kits too. I even give my customers samples and then I sent them home with the leaflet. I use the Diamond small breed puppy and I like that everything is natural. My dogs digest it really well and they don't have a lot of stool from it. I also use the puppy formula for my pregnant dogs and even after they whelp. It's more nutritious. I tell everybody about Diamond and even suggest where to go get it.

I was on Purina Dog Chow then I switched to Diamond Natural Large Breed Puppy a couple of years ago. Diamond has better quality food and I like the way they had more veggies in it. I raise Bassets and Bloodhounds and I have 4 or 5 litters in a year. A litter is ready to go at six to eight weeks, and Basset Hounds should weigh between 50 and 60 pounds while bloodhounds have to be 100 to 130 pounds. They are doing good on Diamond and they look good. They gain weight and keep it on. Also, I haven't had to take them to the vet except for the normal shots during the year.
This is the second time that I got the Diamond packet. Before, I was just putting the food in a baggie with a label on it. There was also one time when I forgot about ordering the food, but it was great when I called the 1-800 customer service number. I didn't have any trouble at all and the rep said that they would send the food right out. The puppies were just about ready to go and I had two weeks left but I got my order in time before they were ready to go. I am satisfied with Diamond.

I have standard poodles, golden retrievers, labradoodles and goldendoodles, and we have a litter about every three months. We’ve been using Diamond for about five years now but there are online reviews that a lot of people read about Diamond that are not so positive. A lot of people say that there had been recalls in the past and that Diamond is not safe. I try to reassure my customers but I would like to have some additional information in the brochures about the safety of the product that would help ensure them of the quality of the product. In fact, we chose Diamond over other brands because of the quality of the food and the price. We use the Natural Large Breed food and the dogs are healthier. Their coats look really well as well. We also used the lamb and rice, which helped with some skin issues that some of the dogs had in the past.

There were all those recalls seven years ago, and we wanted something that was American-sourced and American-made. When I called Diamond, the reps were very friendly and helpful. Since then, we’ve been using the brand for our dogs. We breed Aussiedoodles, which is an Australian Shepherd mixed with a Poodle and we often have litters. We feed the puppy food to the pregnant mamas and we use the Diamond Naturals in the kennel. We also are a small working farm, so we’ve got Great Pyrenees. We keep them on the Naturals Large Breed and it does really well. We’ve not had any allergies come from them. It’s a good, solid dog food and puppy food.
I like Diamond a lot as well as Taste of the Wild. We switch back and forth between the two because sometimes pups are gonna go to a higher end home and sometimes they may go to a normal, everyday home. So that way, they get the best of both worlds and they wouldn't be struggling if the food is switched. Over the years, I have found that most of my people stick with the Diamond.

Diamond always does a good job. I breed Miniature Dachshunds and they seem to be in really good form. I got my dogs into the food after I did a lot of research and thought Diamond Naturals to be good. I've used Diamond Naturals Chicken & Rice and sometimes the beef. I've used it for at least a couple of years but now I get another brand of grain-free food. It’s by the same company though.

I breed Dachshunds and I've been using Diamond Pet Foods for 13 years now. The dogs love it and they do well on it. Their coats are very nice as well. We'll stay with it and we would never change. I've also been sending people a sample pack of it with the puppies along with the paper that tells something about it. I tell them that it's the best and that they should stay on it since it's what the dogs are used to.

Diamond is comparable to other higher-end brands but is still affordable. And with natural pet food, the dogs eat less because the food is better for them than the stuff that you can buy super cheap. We breed Siberian Huskies and we've been feeding Diamond for four years now. We have a litter a couple of times a year and everybody who buys the puppies gets two samples of the food.

I breed Pomeranians and have litters of them once a year. I send the puppies to their new homes with Diamond samples and let the owners know that it doesn't have corn, wheat, or soy. And that it is easy on the dog's stomach and keeps their stools consistent. I use the Small Breed Puppy Naturals, which is cheaper than that grain-free one. It also keeps the dogs healthy. I've been using Diamond for six years now due to its price. I love the Diamond Dog Food.

We like the Small Breed Puppy food. It has a very small kibble size and the puppies do good on it. There are lots of good dog foods but I cannot find any others that have that smaller kibble. We have Cockapoos but we have Great Bernese dogs too and I wish Diamond also had a smaller kibble size in the Large Breed Puppy food because the puppies can choke on the food. Still, Diamond is good food. We've been using it for several years now. We get some from the store and some from the distributor, and our overall experience has been good.

I've been using Diamond Pet Foods for 10 years. It's a really good dog food and it works better for my dogs. We raise Labs and we have 40 or 50 puppies a year and we send them to their new homes with Diamond samples. We got a litter of puppies now and the lady that got a puppy last year was complaining about the dog shedding in the past. I asked what she was feeding it with and she said, "Purina." I'm not that brand of guy and that's the breed that needs to switch to Diamond because they shed if you don't give the right food. I always tell people to go to Diamond, especially if they have problem with Labs. If you feed them on the Diamond, it helps its coats a lot. We feed our dogs with chicken and rice because it's good for Labs.

Diamond was recommended by our feeds store and through multiple brands, I’ve been using Diamond for about ten years now. I raise Basset hounds and I have eight of them. I used to use 4Health and the Diamond Naturals. I also did the Taste of the Wild which are Diamond foods. Two years ago though, I bought half a pallet of Taste of the Wild and I almost lost three dogs. I had to pull the food away from them and I got them onto a different food and it was touch and go for about three weeks on three of them.
Five of my dogs lost considerable weight but they didn’t get the nauseousness, the vomiting and the diarrhea. TOTW didn’t do anything about it. They denied it up and down and they never re-contacted me to let me know that there was an issue. It really upset me that I was wasting $200 on half a pallet of food. I ended up throwing it all away because it was the first two bags that started this and it was all the same batch and serial number on the pallet. So, I ended up buying other and then it was fine and lately, it has been good.

Another breeder told me that my Border Collies would get more full on Diamond Pet Foods versus the food I was using previously. Currently my dogs coats are shinier and they look healthier. Using the food has been a big help for my dogs. Their stool has been firmer and they are more active. However, my retailer can't get Diamond samples so I can't send puppies to their new homes with that. I originally ordered samples one time directly from Diamond and they sent them to me to my home. But then, they said I needed to contact the local retailer to help take care of it and I'm not getting anywhere. Nevertheless, the health of my dogs has been better with this food.

I breed Labradors and I've used a bunch of different dog food brands, and I like the way that my dogs do on Diamond Puppy and Diamond Naturals. I have been using Diamond for about three years. Before Diamond, I used 4Health and I noticed that when my pet got around seven weeks old, they would get diarrhea. While mothers did good and gained weight, and the pups gained weight too, the stool was loose. I did not have this problem when I switched to Diamond. It was just too rich. My sister is a breeder too and I told her that she should try Diamond out. I told her what I was doing and she did the same thing and had great success too. All in all, I like the product. I'll keep using it.

We are very pleased with Diamond. We've been using it for 10 years now and it is economical. Also, the co-op that we use has Diamond so it's more convenient for us. We breed small dogs such as Toy Poodles, Miniature Dachshunds, Miniature Schnauzer, Yorkies, Shih Tzu and Chihuahuas. We produce litters at least once a month and we feed them with Diamond Puppy and Diamond Yellow. We've raised good moms and dads off of it and we recommend new owners to continue with Diamond which is a good dog food.

We have been using Diamond Pet Foods for a long time. They have a good quality assurance program where they check their products. They went through their growing pains like any dog food company where they had recalls, but if you look at their recent history over the last seven years, they’ve had very few recalls, if any. Also, they have plants on a national scale. They have them on the East Cost and West Coast.
We breed Cocker Spaniels and have litters weekly. We send samples with the puppies to their new homes and require Diamond for the first year. Dogs have a unique set of bacteria in their gut. When the puppy is born, he's on mama’s milk. Then you wean him on a slurry wet food, milky stuff to get him on the solid food, just like a child. Then you get him on dry food and when they’re 8-weeks old they have that one set of bacteria in their gut which will digest it properly and they’ll have good stools. Plus, you don’t run the risk of diarrhea. We use Diamond Naturals Small Breed Puppy and we use all three varieties of Diamond Naturals. We try to change every few months from one of the Diamond Natural products to the next with our adults to give them a different flavor to keep eating interest high and making sure that the dogs are eating well.
When you change dog foods, you can really end up with a problem, which is why we want them to stay on Diamond because you want good stools. A person who is a professional in the dog business can evaluate the health and well-being of the dog based on the stools. We want little tootsie rolls coming out of these babies, so we know they’re healthy, the digestive system is working well and they’re handling what they’re supposed to have. I maintain contact with all of my owners for the life of the dog and when it’s time to change over to adult food, I encourage people to transition to another Diamond product, which is the adult food that we use here. It’s all for the well-being of the dog. Also, I wish Diamond had better distribution agreements with some people in different parts of the country, but that’s a sales and marketing issue that they have to attend to. It’s hard managing a national brand, but they do a good job all in all. I recommend them every day.

I have a kennel of approximately 27 dogs right now and I breed Golden Retrievers, Yorkshire Terriers, and Chihuahuas. We have been feeding the adult and the puppy with Diamond Pet Foods Hi-Energy for about 10 years. Also, I'm a small animal dietitian and I have compared foods for a long time. As a breeder too, I was feeding Pride for a while and the Prism dog food. Then, a friend of mine and told me to try Diamond. I've compared it and Diamond ranks up there with the rest of them. Also, it's not as expensive although the natural is a bit expensive. It's convenient to my local Tractor Supply too, so I can run and get it as often as I need.
I tell my customers when they buy a puppy that they can get Diamond at Tractor Supply or Chewy.com, which everybody uses now. Plus, whenever I call Diamond to get the puppy bags, their people send them right out. I like Diamond because I don't have to scoop as much. The dog's coats look really good, especially on the natural and depending on what breed that I'm breeding at the time, I like the naturals for the Yorkies because it gives them a really nice shiny coat. I love the little nuggets for these tiny guys. Also, I have not had any health problems at all and allergies with any of my dogs. It doesn't have soy in it and my dogs do great on it.
I've had a couple of show dogs in the past, the hairless Chinese Crested and I sent them Diamond. The hairless dogs have a lot of skin allergies and Diamond did wonderful for them. Before that, I was feeding Eukanuba and I had one dog that would break out in blemishes really bad, then I switched over to Diamond Naturals and his skin cleared right up. Plus, I have a red dark Goldens male too and it looks like the Bush Golden Retriever on the Bush Beans. Everyone compliments on their coats on how beautiful, rich, and shiny it looks. A couple of my dogs have gotten too fat. I have one red female mother and she’s high-strung. I have her on the high energy food and she puts weight on fast. My dogs have been on Diamond food their entire life and I recommend them all the time.

Years ago, I had gotten a new pup and I was feeding Iams puppy food for large breed at that time. I've always lived in rural areas and when I tried to find it in my area, I couldn't find it. I had to start looking around for something that was comparable and that's when I started using the Diamond Pet Foods large breed puppy formula. I've been using it for at least 20 years now. I breed Great Pyrenees and I have litters a couple of times a year. I start my puppies on a Diamond puppy feed because the kibble is smaller and when you've got a four-week-old puppy trying to eat dry kibble, you want the smaller kibble. But as they grow and by the time they got home, they're on the large breed puppy feed.
Diamond sends me the large breed puppy formula and I send it with the puppies to their new homes. I recommend that the new owners feed the Diamond large breed puppy for a year, then I recommend that they switch over to a Diamond brand of feed. I don't always use the large breed adult formula on my dogs. I switch them around because they get bored with one thing and I always switch to the Diamond Naturals beef, lamb, or chicken formula, or the large breed. Diamond makes my dogs' coats nice.
I tell folks that they can feed a young dog any kind of dog food and they're gonna look nice. If they can raise a Pyrenees to about 14 years old, that's pretty long for a Great Pyrenees or a large breed dog and they're healthy. I said that I use Diamond because it's got the proper nutrition to keep the dogs healthy and I have a longevity. For the quality of feed and for the price point, Diamond is one of the best ones out on the market and certainly available in my area. That's what I feed and that's all I feed. I send everybody home with the samples and the owners are always good about it.

I have been using Diamond Pet Foods for about eight years now and I feel the value in the cost and the ingredients. I tend to stick with Diamond Naturals and I can’t find anything else for the price, or even for a more expensive price, that has everything that I want. I breed Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog and have litters three times a year. I always send the puppies to their new homes with Diamond and tell the new owners that they can see pictures of my dogs and they can see how well that mine all do on it. I also tell them that for the cost and for the quality, it’s the best bang for their buck. It contributes to the coats and the muscle mass and if I have a harder time keeping weight on them, I can put them on the Hi-Energy.

Ever since ‘02, I've been using Diamond Dog Food as my dogs want to eat nothing else but that. I used the basic one for years, but then I changed to natural as the bite is sort of smaller. Some of the puppies don’t have teeth and that’s a good way of getting their teeth through. I start out by putting a little water to soften the food and it’s all that they get. I feed my dogs the natural as well. I have some Maltipoos, Chihuahuas and Shih Tzu and I have litters every three months. I try to feed the puppies some Diamond samples before I sell them. And then I give the pet owners one sample and the other bag that I’m using before they go. I get brochures from the company and I give them that too. The Diamond dog food is great and I'm very satisfied with it. My dogs like it and they are healthy.

I've had several Boxers and before they get to a year, they kinda go through a skinny phase. It had always been like that and there was like nothing that I could do to make them not look so skinny. However, when I tried the Diamond Hi-Energy, they put weight on and they looked like normal and healthy dogs. They are pretty active too. I've been feeding it to them for two years now and they have never had any health issues. They like it and eat it. I've tried other foods and I've even tried other high-performance dog foods and they really didn't matter. They kinda got a little mad at me for changing it. It's reasonably priced too so it's what I stick with.
I have two females and once a year, I get puppies from the both of them and I like giving out Diamond samples with the new puppies. It looks a little more professional and it's just a little extra thing that you can give to the new owners. It kind of hopped and transitioned to like if they wanna stay with the food or mix it, it's good to give the puppies a little bit of what they're already on. I always recommend continuing the puppies on Diamond since it worked for my dogs. Sometimes, the dogs are learning and I had to go through that trial on their process so it's nice to tell other people so that they don't have to do all that.

Update: I stopped feeding this particular bag and contacted Diamond. They were professional and prompt about my concerns. The batch they said didn't have any other complaints against it and it has been in circulation for over 2 months. They stood behind their product and said to mail in a request for refund. This had been almost like a food poisoning situation that people get going out to eat. My dog is recovering and doing much better.

We have been loyal purchasers of Diamond Brand for well over a decade. Our boxer has consumed the Chicken and Rice Large Breed his entire adult life. The bag has changed from paper to plastic and as of recently the shapes changed from circle pebbles to flat pieces. Not a big deal but whatever. Our dog wasn't thrilled about the new shapes but he still ate the whole bag just fine. Now we are on our second bag of the "new design" and he threw up every meal. He seems lethargic and not himself. His weight is noticeably down. We are to the point he is straight up is refusing to eat dog food even though he is clearly hungry. I have reached out to Diamond and have not heard back as of yet.
I am reading the similar reviews (some with fatal results) and felt the need to add our story to it as well. This happened directly after opening a new bag. I am not going to continue to what appears to be poison my dog with this food. I'm preparing homemade beef and rice for him until I fully switch to a different brand. I'm very concerned with others having the same problem as it appears it isn't isolated and no recall. I'm wondering if the new plastic bag causes the dog food to mold? That's why there isn't a recall because it is meeting quality control before bagging? Maybe they changed the shape of the pieces as a result to prevent molding? All speculation but who knows.

Our family has a 6 year old Pitt mix. He has to eat grain free food as he's got some pretty severe food allergies. We recently purchased Diamond Naturals Grain Free Beef and Sweet Potato dog food. Our always hungry dog took little to no interest in this food but eventually began to eat it. We bought this 30 lb bag because it's inconvenient to keep buying 5 pound bags of the usual brand we use every few days. Our dog's allergies immediately flared up. His skin is broken out and he's constantly itching. We didn't think it was the food at first. We thought maybe he had fleas. So we treated for fleas.
The skin rash and itching kept getting worse and now he's even got patches of no hair at all. He is itching constantly. My husband and I just realized it has got to be the dog food. Maybe it's not grain free after all. There is definitely something wrong with this dog food. I am very unhappy because our dog is suffering. There are bad reviews starting to pop up everywhere. This used to be a good dog food but now it is hurting so many dogs. What's going on???

I started feeding all 4 of my dogs the beef and rice formula 2.27.2018. Right after one of my dogs Romulus vet checkup. The dogs really seemed to like it and I believed I made a good choice. Then around the beginning of June, my dog Romulus was not acting the same. He normally is very energetic and loves to eat. He became lethargic, vomiting, and diarrhea. It started in small amounts. I thought maybe he got into something and it would pass. He continued to have some good days but also some bad days. I scheduled a vet appointment about 2 weeks out. Then all of a sudden and I mean out of nowhere he started dropping weight, not just a pound or two but significant amounts in his last week alive. He was also dehydrated and consuming water at alarming rates.
We made an emergency appt at the vet and they ran every test. They said for us to get an ultrasound. We scheduled one for our dog but within 24 hours Romulus got even worse. He went from almost 90 lbs to 67lbs!!! We rushed him to the hospital and they did an ultrasound of his stomach and were alarmed at what they saw. It was so enlarged and hardened and aggressively worsening by the minute. This dog was perfectly healthy prior. Romulus started fading quickly and was in pain so we had no choice but to euthanize. While we were overcome with grief and distraught one of our other dogs Ella started showing similar symptoms of vomiting. The only thing the two dogs have in common is the food.
We immediately went online and saw all the same reviews expressing almost exactly the same symptoms as our dog. This prompts me to call the company. They were not very helpful at all. They said they never had a complaint and mine was the first. Are you kidding me?? Are you reading your reviews? I lost my dog suddenly and a second showing signs!!! I was able to provide the product codes of the bags and they are doing their own "testing" and will be in touch and gave me a case number. They told me to have the vets submit their findings and they will review. I doubt anything will come of this but this company needs to know their food is making dogs sick and my Romulus is gone!!! We immediately stopped feeding our dogs this food and already my Ella is doing much better and stopped vomiting. This food is poison. DO NOT BUY!!!

I adopted a dog a couple months ago and was recommended Diamond Naturals Chicken And Rice small breed for her. I figured I would switch my other dog to this food as well so I wouldn’t have to buy two different brands. First two months was fine... Picked up a new bag of food just a week or two ago. Dogs didn’t seem to want to finish their food like they normally do. My little chihuahua started throwing up and wouldn’t eat anymore. She became very ill. She was lethargic, in pain and started having diarrhea. She had been admitted to the vet hospital for the past 5 days on intensive treatment... IV, antibiotics, vitamins, anti nausea, etc. She was throwing up blood and having bloody diarrhea and her platelets went to zero. We have had to give her a plasma transfusion.
I have researched pancreatitis in dogs since others have mentioned their dogs got pancreatitis from this food and these are exactly her symptoms. Reading other reviews this seems to be a common occurrence. She thankfully is no longer throwing up or having diarrhea but she still will not eat and is having to start being tube fed. She has not eaten for a week! This is a very expensive ordeal we are going through and she still might not make it. I feel terrible about this because I only switched her food because it was recommended. I should have come to look at reviews first! If my dog dies, I truly believe it is due to this food.
My dog was a normal happy healthy 1 year old running around one day and terribly sick the next day. STAY AWAY FROM THIS FOOD. My second dog started throwing up a couple days ago. I have taken her off this food and she is doing better and hasn’t thrown up anymore. It is terrible there are all these complaints and no recalls! Yet they continue to make dogs sick and even die. I believe a class action suit needs to be created so no more dogs can become ill and/or die.

We have been using Diamond Dry Dog food for years and had no issues. But the last few days our cat got very sick. Brought him into the vet and ran every test there was and came back with nothing but dehydration and low grade fever and elevated white blood count. They treated the cat for a parasite (but the tests came back neg for all parasites) and did an antibiotic and Fluids for dehydration. The cat had lost substantial weight, wasn't eating or drinking, lethargic. Then tonight we noticed our dog was very ill, same symptoms vomiting, lethargic, weight loss, no energy, won't eat or drink. So I check the bag to see if the dog food was expired but couldn't find a date, went online and found all the other posts about other people’s pets having the same issue.
It makes sense now, of course the cat would get sick first (yes, our cat eats dog food). It is so much smaller than the dog. We got this bag of food 6 days ago and the cat first showed signs of something being wrong 4 days ago and the dog got sick today 6 days of eating this dog food. Neither one is drinking or eating tonight and we planning on going back to the vet in the morning. Both our loved ones are very sick, super scary! I will be calling Diamond ASAP. I have fed my dog this Chicken & Rice Adult food exclusively for his whole life (5 years). Have never had a problem until 3 weeks ago when he started vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and stomach pain. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis and has been so sick for almost 3 weeks now. This all happened right after I opened a new bag of Diamond food (and he didn't get into anything else). After reading other stories of the same thing happening to their dogs, I knew I needed to also write a review and let people know what happened to us.
I am very upset about this, and the fact that the company is not recognizing there is a problem and issuing a recall. My poor guy is so sick and has never had any issues before now. I am taking him back to the vet today because he's not getting any better. He is losing weight, and he's a dachshund, so he doesn't have a lot to lose in the first place. He is in pain, and is depressed. My happy, energetic dog has disappeared and it's so sad. Diamond needs to recall this food and admit there is something going on with their food.

In rushing her to the vet and 2 meds and 3 days of boiling chicken. She is doing better however all of my other dogs 2 shepherds 2 husky lab mix all started throwing up and filling kennels with diarrhea. All are now on meds and has to purchase 12 bags of chicken. I have fed my dogs Diamond Naturals for the last year and a half. Never had any issues up until the last two bags we bought. Much like the other complaints, my dogs are having loose stool, stomach rumbling, flatulence, skin issues, etc. And it's consistent! We had to get antibiotics to rule out any parasites that could be causing our dogs distress. Last night, I was up at 1 in the morning scrubbing my carpets because my German Shepherd had a fluidy diarrhea all over my living room!
Got on the web today and found this thread with people experiencing the same issues within the past couple months and now I know it must be from the dog food. What have you done to your formula?! While waiting for our vet to open I started doing research into the puppy food and have found over 205 complaints. 40 something in the recent months. Always similar stories. All with vomiting or hair loss. I for one will be switching brands. As making my dog ill and costing me if substantial vet bill is unacceptable. I'd like to know why this dog food has not been recalled yet. I then went to see if there has been any recalls and noted that it has not as of yet however this company has faced many recalls of its product in the past years. We have been feeding Diamond dog food for approx 20 years, dogs always did well until the last bag we bought of Diamond natural chicken and rice and beef and rice. Dogs became uninterested in eating the beef and rice. My older guy ”13” has had kidney issues on and off for a couple of years, he was recently put on RX food, at that point, due to the disinterest. I bought the chicken and rice to go back to for my Airedale Terrier mix, we started it on the 3rd of April. On Saturday the 7th, she had a little diarrhea, on Sunday she was playing and acting herself but had diarrhea on and off, went to sleep Sunday evening and she woke us up having to go out. Obviously it was dark and sounded as if she had diarrhea again, by 3 am she had went out and had apparent diarrhea for the last time but shortly after she started to vomit, by 7 am she had nothing left in her to throw up but seemed nauseous.
We called the vet the minute they opened thinking she had a crazy virus or bloat, they told us to bring her right in. As we left for the vet, we discovered before getting in the car, all of the overnight diarrhea was pure blood, she was internally bleeding and we had no idea because it was dark. We rushed to the vet and she continued to decline rather than respond to treatment. She was diagnosed with ”HGE” hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, also that condition caused her to have polycythemia, the vet said it was from food, something she had ingested.
I had been doing nothing new except new bags of food that she had little interest in, in looking for answers, I looked for recalls on her food and found all of these complaints, very similar but ours had a nightmare of an ending. We lost our baby on Monday the 8th of April. I’m beyond crushed and also angry, my daughter is a biologist and has found a company/lab that does food testing, I will be sending samples to a lab in Michigan to be tested.

Thinking maybe the dogs would like to try a different flavor we ordered the Beef and Rice. We received the food and almost instantly knew something was wrong. The dogs normally dig right in when we put food in their dish. Instead they both took about two bites and then wouldn't touch it again. The next day they were both sick and wouldn't go anywhere near the food. After reading other reviews on here there has to be something wrong with the Beef and Rice formula. I have been giving my dogs Diamond Naturals beef meal and rice for over 4 years now. Within the last 6 weeks or so I have noticed one of my dogs is not finishing her food and has had very bad diarrhea. This morning my female dog would not finish her food and she never does this. As soon as I mixed my other dogs' food with the Diamond food she ate all of it.
I'm not sure if they have changed the formula but it seems like ever since the food has been in the new bags, not the paper bag like before, they do not like it. Nothing else has changed and no they haven't gotten "into" anything and are UTD on all of their shots and heartworm. And to the review that said "people need to wash their bowls and nothing has changed" you're wrong, it has changed. Today I called my vet and went and purchased another food so I hope they love it and quit having diarrhea.

One dog was in and out all day long, just managing her bowels. Lethargic. Wouldn’t eat. A short 48 hrs later, the second dog joined her in loosing her bowels all over the house. 5 days after we had bought the bags of food, with dogs still having uncontrollable diarrhea, we pinpointed the culprit. I purchased a new bag of dog food recently, Diamond Maintenance brand. My Great Dane eats 8 cups a day of this food. I have two dogs. The other dog does not eat this food, although he was always interested in eating it. This new particular bag neither dog had interest in, very strange for my American bully who wants to eat everything!!! Eventually my Dane did eat it, and ate it for almost 4 days before he became deathly ill. He became restless, panting heavily, vomiting bile, running a fever, lethargic, depressed, weak, shaking, shivering profusely. I rushed him to the animal emergency clinic, performed X-rays to rule out bloat, which is common in Danes. They confirmed no bloat but he remained very sick even with intestinal antibiotic medication.
I returned to the vet the very next day, ran bloodwork to find he was suffering from pancreatitis. He continued to decline, repeated X-rays and bloodwork. His intestines were pushed upward in his abdomen. Fearing he may have a mass or blockage that could not be determined from the ultrasound, we moved onto exploratory surgery. Come to find out no blockage or mass, but a very very bad case of pancreatitis.
He receives nothing but Diamond Maintenance food. No table food, treats etc. He ate this food for 3 to 4 days, 8 cups a day and it almost killed my gentle giant. He lost 10 lbs so far and it still in the animal hospital for another week receiving IV fluids and meds. I've contacted the company to only be told they ran their quality control and everything is within normal limits. I've read several reviews of people that bought Diamond food within this same time frame and their pets got sick as well. When reading these negative reviews, it is clear to me that people blame pet food because it's easier than blaming yourself for not washing 10 year old pet food containers, or for letting your dog eat the garbage or get into some toxic chemicals that cause kidney failure. Dog food is not poisoning your dog. The worst thing that can happen is food intolerance or allergy, not all dog food is great for dogs with "conditions".
My breeder feeds numerous Shih Tzu's this particular food and has no problems with it. My 6 month old puppy is throwing and his fur doesn't ever get mats, ever! No upset tummy, no skin allergy, no loose stools and a gorgeous coat. The breeder shows his dogs and swears by this food. That and it's economical compared to dog foods with the same ratings. Dogfoodadvisor.com gives this food 4.5 /5.0 stars. I had a Shih Tzu before that did poorly on Blue Buffalo, Iams was horrible, and Nulo Senior food at $65 a bag, gave him an oily coat. He did well on Science Diet Ideal Balance. Had I known about Diamond Naturals (Small Breed Puppy), I would have fed him that. He passed away at 11 due to IVDD, food did not cause it, genetics did.

I have two saint puppies, from two different breeders from two different states. It was recommended from a friend to use Diamond puppy food for large breeds. After we had their puppy check ups and we're finished with their puppy shots we thought we could then switch foods. Well one puppy got sick so we took her in, she has serious bladder/ kidney issues. About a week later the other started peeing all over, we took her in and she has the same issue. So after meds and months of special prescription food and UA tests done every other week, one puppy was getting better. One of the puppies will not recover, we were too late with her.
After researching and removing everything from them it boiled down to the food. Our vet asked what we were feeding. Well it was diamond naturals for large breed puppy, he then told us he has many, many cases exactly the same. He has lost some and he was able to save some of them. But this was what we all had in common. I am losing a family member due to this food. Please DO NOT FEED DIAMOND unless you want a outrageous vet bill and possibly lose your pet. I am heartbroken and will NEVER buy this food again. Also I will be very vocal every chance I get to keep people from going through this same thing.

I have used Diamond Maintenance for over 11 years, I have raised 3 puppies on their puppy food but sometime about a year ago we noticed the dogs weren't eating it like they used to. At the end of the day they all still had food in their bowls, but thought it was because we had to rehome our livestock and with them our great pyrenees as well. He would clean up the left overs, he had acid reflux and DM was the only food that he could keep down. I have a golden retriever that is my service dog, and she acts like she is starving and has begun scavenging garbage, a very new thing, she is 9 years old and is getting too heavy, also have an 8 month old pyrenees puppy. We are training to replace her and a 7 year old shi tzu.
My pyrenees was snake bit almost 4 weeks ago so we started supplementing their diets with beef spare ribs, it gives them extra nutrition but the puppy is a chewer and the bones help that, along with keeping him from licking his infected paw. We won't give them anything with coloring in it, and try to feed a good food, so we opted for a different brand at the feed store, they are eating it better, and no leftovers.
I believe they changed their formula a year or so ago, it was a brand the hunt club swore by, the owner of the feed store said he has been selling less of it. If they did change something they need to go back to the ingredient or stop using the new manufacturer if that is the case, but we aren't using it any longer. I need my dogs in top form to help me, they are invaluable "medical equipment". I have been looking at different brands but will see how they do with this new one from the feed store, we may keep them on that and continue giving them bones with fresh meat on them. Something is up. If everyone is having the same issue, sounds like a class action suit should be looked into.

She was just 6 years old and in perfect health until the weight loss 3#, yellow foamy vomit (sometimes), black loose stools, and her odor. This was a good product, but something has changed in the past 3 months or so. BUYERS BEWARE.

Adult formula lamb and rice dry food - Our Bullie has been an indoor service companion her entire life. She's had zero health problems until about a month ago when she refused to eat (Bullies never refuse to eat). She became dehydrated and lethargic in a matter of a few hours. I nursed her through the next few days until she got out of the woods. She had extreme urinary inflammation. Here we are again. 2 weeks later. Same problems. Her condition is touch and go at this point. By process of elimination, we have to assume it is the food as she seems to get better when we switch. She's just not letting us feed her this time around.

I have had my dogs on Diamond food for the past two year however this I had to switch from the chicken Naturals to the Diamond HI-ENERGY. The chicken was making them sick. They would vomit a yellow foam up after about an hour after eating. They didn't do it all the time. Just from time to time never very much then their weight started dropping and they wouldn't eat it anymore. It would set there all night so we took them off the chicken.
Now they are on the Diamond HI-ENERGY and came down with a lot of gas. They seem to love it but then after two weeks they stop eating it again. They would vomit a yellow foam up after about an hour and would be gasses again. Didn't want to eat it. Now they both have explosive diarrhea. They're indoor dogs up to date on everything were very healthy dogs. Something has change in this food and it's making the dogs sick and they don't seem to care about. We need to get this out and end it before more love ones become sick or loses their life.

I have two American Bullies and a Lab all adults. After two weeks of food my Lab has lost all the hair off his butt, has weeping sores, after 4 weeks my female Bully has welts all over her body, my male has diarrhea. I am switching to Costco brand dog food. Do not feed your dog this food!!! It's basically poison. I called customer service first. It sounds like mine is one more voice added to the resounding negative reviews of Diamond dog food. Very concerning. I had been feeding my 5 month old Golden Retriever puppy the 'Diamond Naturals Large Breed Puppy Food' lamb and rice formula since she was weaned from her mother. However, the last bag of food I purchased for her in April 2017 caused my dog pain and suffering. She had chronic diarrhea, vomiting, was lethargic, had some blood in her stool, even the shakes and a potential minor seizure one day. She even developed flaky and irritated skin under her armpits and belly. Whenever I'd cook chicken and white rice for my dog, she would get back to normal. However, as I would slowly try to re-introduce the Diamond Naturals kibble back into her bowl, the vomiting, loose stool and diarrhea would return.
My vet had no idea the food could be causing the issue, until I recommended trying a different brand or something prescription for a while (my vet originally thought she had a vitamin B-12 deficiency, a kidney issue, or was eating things off the ground). Now my puppy is on prescription food (Hill's Science Diet) to calm her gut for a month until I decide to try a completely different brand of puppy food. Especially after reading the other reviews, I'll never feed my dog Diamond Naturals again - it's not worth the risk. I think the company needs to seriously consider a recall on the bags of food put into stores within the last 5 months. Please take conscientious action, Diamond Food!

I bought 4 cans of Diamond Naturals, thinking it was healthy from the ingredients, etc. I have 5 dogs ranging from small to large. I give tbsp. in dry food for big dogs and tsp. in dry food for little dogs. 4 of my 5 dogs are seniors and 3 of my 4 are small dogs. Dachshund started with diarrhea. Then my 110 lb Shepherd. Then my Chihuahua. Got online and read the reviews on here and called my vet crying! The dogs have only little amounts and maybe 6 meals. Should be ok but I'm nervous now and watching for any signs that it gets worse. Little dogs and senior dogs have harder time recovering, hope I caught it in time before severe issues. So sad to hear all the animals and families suffering from this.

We are show breeders with an impeccable reputation. We have an exclusive ranch with a 3600 sq ft poured dog patio with bordered oak trees and open air pavilion. Our dogs have NO exposure to other dogs, dirt, grass, rodents, etc. When we get contaminated food we know it immediately! Sadly we know of no dog food (expensive or otherwise) that is safe! You go along for a while OK then wham! Aflatoxin, or salmonella, e-coli or other FBI. Vets help the dog, of course but are derelict in getting behind your effort to hold the dog food company liable. The country cries out for - simply - a good quality (USA made and sourced!) dog food that won't injure or kill our dogs!
Diamond recently almost killed our top female and the vet wound up spaying her, later determined to have been unnecessary!!! Blood work showed stress to her liver and kidneys, secondary to the food toxin. No history of such in her line going back 4 generations. Symptoms included high fever, lethargy, diarrhea, vomiting and ultimately a limp, near death state. IV fluids, antibiotics and round the clock treatment for 2 weeks saved her life. (Thank God). She is still on the road to recovery and we are grateful, however, we will never be able to keep the offspring that we had hoped to perpetuate her incredible genetics.

My Doberman loved this food for a while then started acting different. He had bad gas, runny poop, was eating grass to throw up, started shivering after eating it then developed a lump on his foot. So took him to the vet it appeared to be some kind of allergic reaction and his histamine level was high then noticed he started refusing to eat the food altogether so I researched and surprise I found a lot of people having very similar issues. So I changed his food and now he's eating again and seems like he's getting back to normal. I only hope there's no major health issues caused from that food! I just bought my third bag of this Diamond Natural Large Breed Puppy food. My 6 month old doberman has done very well with the first two 20 lbs bags. He scarfs his 2 cups down within a minute every meal. Until this morning when I opened up a brand new bag of the same Large Breed Puppy food that I bought yesterday from Tractor Supply in Hiram, GA. I was surprised that after 10 minutes, my pup was still chewing slowly. Huh?? Was he sick? Well, I had some leftover food in the pantry from his Humane Society gift bag, so I decided to see if he would eat that to determine if he was sick or if it was the Diamond dog food. He scarfed it down!! So he wasn't sick. There is something wrong with this batch of food... DO NOT USE DIAMOND DOG FOOD!!! My husband and I brought home our 2 little Chocolate Labs home on the 18th. We fed them Diamond Puppy Dog Food. They did great for a little while and we bought another bag. They started getting diarrhea and it just kept getting worse. On the 31st I called the vet. He gave them a prescription for colitis and it worked GREAT! They finished up the pills on Friday morning and by Saturday afternoon the diarrhea was back with a vengeance.
After talking it over with my husband we decided that maybe it was the food. We agreed to change their food to see if that would help. We switched to IAMS Puppy. When we got the new bag home we decided that instead of gradually changing them over, we would just start feeding them the IAMS since their systems were so racked by the diarrhea.
My husband went to dump the DIAMOND PUPPY food in the trash and we found MOLD! We had been feeding out little ones moldy food. No wonder they were sick. Now before you say that water must have gotten into it, their food is kept in an airtight, plastic container in the house and away from any water source! We have had these containers for over 10 years and have never had any problems.
We have contacted DIAMOND to let them know but the investigation is going to be hampered because we didn't keep the bag or receipt. If I can get the receipts they will reimburse us for the food. What about the vet bills? The new containers we are have to buy? What about the health and well-being of these little ones who look to us to take care of them? I trusted DIAMOND DOG FOOD with my pets' nutritional needs and they failed miserably. Now that we have switched their foods they are eating more, the diarrhea is still there, but they are getting better. Please don't let this happen to your animals. DO NOT FEED THEM DIAMOND FOOD of any kind.

I emailed the company and the next day they replied to say it was not appropriate, instead recommending their puppy formula.
We switched to that puppy formula over the course of several days and our puppy started vomiting and acting lethargic. That's when I went online to see if anyone else had experienced this - and found these recent reviews about other Diamond products from pet parents in the Midwest. I don't know if the food caused the problem or if we switched over too quickly, but we have opted to switch to Science Diet Puppy. Well, the blister remained and the female dog's scabs grew in number overnight. I took her to the vet and she was having a severe allergic reaction to something. I have changed nothing in their diets, have not introduced anything new to them. I looked my other boy over real good tonight and he has a blister on one eye lid. I have used Diamond Naturals dog foods for the past three years. My dogs have been very healthy on this product. In November I bought four new bags of food at the same time. We live on a country property and have four dogs. Multiple times in the past two months combinations of different dogs have gotten sick, had diarrhea and have vomited. I did not suspect the dog food. I assumed that our dogs had gotten into something outside or perhaps had a virus. However, they kept getting sick in intervals.
Sadly, one of our dogs was a 9 1/2-year-old Italian mastiff. Due to the fact that she was getting quite old I was attributing her being "off of her food" to aging. She was very food driven so she continued to eat the food when some of the dogs in the house did not. In one day she went from having solid bowel movements to being horribly lethargic with watery diarrhea with blood in it. She became so sick that we attributed other possible issues to her illness. Sadly we euthanized her due to the severity of her symptoms. I continued to feed that bag of dog food as I still was not suspicious of the food.
A few days ago I threw away the bag she had been eating and opened a new bag. Now that we are a few days into the new bag my youngest, healthiest dog will not eat the food and is struggling with diarrhea and vomiting. He now will not eat any of his food. I have found Diamond Naturals to be a stellar company and I have recommended their food products to many people who have had great success. I urge this company to look into their food sourcing for possible contamination. Our set of circumstances over the past months draws suspicion about this product. I truly hope the food is not to blame but it would be a irresponsible of us not to consider it. If there is something wrong with the food I hope this review will help others and hopefully prevent the loss of someone's precious pet.

I had been feeding my 9-yr old dog Diamond Whitefish & Sweet Potato food for a long time, but decided to give her the Lamb & Rice for a change, this was in Nov. The dog didn't seem to be very interested in it, but ate it for a couple of days. Then she started throwing up several hours after eating. This vomiting continued for several days, always a few hours after eating. She began refusing her food and I could see she had lost weight. I got a bag of Chicken Soup for The Soul food, also made by Diamond (I didn't know it when I bought it) which she would not eat. I then tried the Taste of the Wild food and still no interest in the food. I took her to the vet who gave her antibiotics and steroid injections and said to give her boiled chicken and rice. She did eat for a couple days and then started eating ravenously, for about a week, probably from the steroid injection.
I began slowly including a small amount of the Chicken Soup food with the boiled chicken to get her back on regular food. Then, she started refusing to eat at all, and I took her back to the vet. Another round of injections, lab tests, and meds to give her at home. Vet thinks an infection in her intestines, no blockage. After 3 days, she still will not eat anything, and her white cell count is very high. This started after the Lamb & Rice feedings, and I am wondering if it could be the cause. The dog has never been ill and has been fed several different dog foods over the yrs. After reading these other reviews, I think the Diamond food may be at fault. She will not eat at all and I am very worried.

I have been using both varieties of Diamond's Chicken and Lamb varieties for as long as it's been around. I have never had any problems with their food. I breed Shetland Sheepdogs and currently have 10 adult shelties 3-16 yrs of age. I have about 3 litters a year avg 5 pups per litter. I have fed my pups both Chicken Soup for the Soul Small breed puppy and Diamond Naturals Small Breed Puppy which both are chicken based. Chicken Soup is Diamond made also. I will have puppies get diarrhea and believe it or not it's from parasites. And not all parasites are detected at the same time. And, not all parasites are killed with the same medicine. I've dewormed for 3 days then get stool sampled for my baseline results. This is before pups are put on the Diamond food.
If the food is intro too quickly, they will get diarrhea. The food is very rich and if a dog has been on junk food such as the Purina brands Beneful, (contains antifreeze and killed 2 of my friend's dogs) or dog and puppy chow (no identifiable meat [chicken, lamb...) but only plant proteins, the dogs will get very ill because they have not been digesting meat proteins and this causes an overload on the poor dog's digestive system. It's a slow process of up to 2 weeks. Even if my stool sample is negative on a 3 week old puppy, by 5 wks it may be positive for parasites and the pups haven't been outside. Mom may have them on her skin from going outside. I do not blame my dog food until stools check out neg first. Diamond Naturals will give them or any dog diarrhea if they are fed too much because of its pure foods, a little goes a long way.
If you're feeding Purina, the dog has to eat a lot to get the nutrition of Diamond Naturals. Two cups of Purina is 1-1 1/4 cup of Diamond Naturals. So, if they feed the dog the same two cups of Diamond like the Purina, the dog may get diarrhea. Has nothing to do with the food, only the amount given. So, if that happens and they put the dog back on the Purina, it won't have diarrhea. Plant protein doesn't digest the same as meat proteins. Beware of some of these negative reviews. Some of these dogs are going through junk food withdrawals and makes better dog foods look like the problem and others are a parasite problems that hasn't been taken care of. Even adult dogs get parasites. Diamond Naturals dog food shouldn't cause birth defects either.
If your dog gets diarrhea, please take a stool sample to the vet as soon as possible. Until the diarrhea is under control, don't feed them solid foods at all; their system is in overload. Ease them back into their food slowly. Giardia and coccidia can be lethal to a dog and it won't matter what dog food you feed them. I love their food and best of all, my 5 shelties that live inside my home do not have "gas" such as the dogs that are fed a complete plant based protein dog food such as Purina and Ol' Roy. Not in the more than 6 years they've been eating it.

I have always bought Diamond Naturals for my dogs and never had any problems with it. My dogs were healthy, looked great and had tons of energy. Recently in the beginning of October I bought their usual 40lb bag of Chicken and Rice formula. I have a 1 and a half year old Mountain Cur and a 6 year old German Shepard/Pit mix.
My German Shepard is normally never sick and her nose got very dry and her eyes were watery, I just thought allergies with it transitioning to fall, my Mountain Cur was fine. Then a couple weeks later her nose got more dry and crusty and she started itching a lot more than usual. Again, I thought just allergies. I put Vaseline on her nose (as I've done in the past with her when she gets this in winter occasionally) and within a few days that at least got better. However, a couple weeks later her face swelled up so bad she almost couldn't open her eye, she had hives all over her face and neck and began throwing up all night and day. She wasn't her energetic self and didn't seem like the same dog. I fed her rice with a little bit of gravy and chicken and that seemed to clear up the vomiting.
My mountain Cur was fine so that led me to think it wasn't a virus of some sort. Her swelling went down and the vomiting stopped but she was still itchy. They just happen to run out of dog food around that time and because the store we buy this from is further away, I had to get something different and this all stopped and felt better right away. Not sure if the food caused this or if she was just sick, but after reading reviews it seems this all is happening since this past summer and fall with bags being bought and just coincidentally got sick around the same time and she never gets sick. I am shopping around for a new food for them as I will not be giving this to them unless something changes. I am not going to put my dog through that again.

I recommend this to almost anyone who has a dog. Especially if they have diarrhea and/or have a high drive and active. I give this a 5 star rating for how amazing it really it! I gradually switched to Diamond Naturals over the past few days. My yellow Lab started having a bit of a stomach upset, gassy and loose stools. By the time I was 100% transitioned to Diamond, she was having diarrhea, vomiting up water, and she smelled absolutely awful. She was also moaning, which she never does. My Shepherd had loose stools and was gassy as well. Heeler mix was fine, but he eats 1/3 of the amount of food the others do. I went out and bought a bag of Pro Plan immediately after reading similar reviews on here. Lab is doing better now. Will never risk my pups' lives on cheaper food again.

I have 2 dogs, a German shepherd mix who is 8, and a Bernese mountain dog, who is 5. I have been feeding Diamond Naturals Lamb and Rice for a few years now and haven't had too many problems, but starting this past July, my Berner started losing weight and didn't want to eat the food anymore. My other dog wasn't crazy about it either.
When I took my Berner to the vet, he was diagnosed with kidney failure. He's been a healthy dog otherwise and didn't get into any poisons to our knowledge. Something was definitely wrong with the last couple of bags of this food. I switched my dogs to a homemade diet, and the shepherd is doing well. The berner ate really well for a while and I made recipes specifically for kidney disease for him. However, it looks to be too late for him and now he is refusing to eat anything. I'm afraid he only has days left. I'm going to lose my fur baby due to this food - so heartbroken!

It was devastating to me! So then I had to buy another boy and not sure this cute boy will ever be what the other boy was! I am still upset over it! Diamond dog food almost killed my 3 month old puppy - Just purchased a new puppy over a month ago. The Diamond Dog Nature's Domain puppy formula (Chicken and Rice) came highly recommended by the breeder. It's labeled as a 'generic' brand for Taste of the Wild. We were excited for the new puppy and wanted the best for him, so we decided to purchase the bag at Costco. For over a month, the puppy has had many problems, runny stools (green, slimy), nonstop diarrhea, stench. For past 3 days, he became lethargic, vomited numerous times, and refused to drink or eat anything. Our playful puppy no more. Once again we rushed him to the vet and after numerous stool samples, IV fluids, probiotics, antibiotics, anti-nausea meds, etc, it was determined that the food was making him sick. It cost us multiple hundreds of $.
We stopped Diamond Dog food immediately and gave him a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice. He has been eating more, drinking, and slowly getting back to his old self. The vet said if we didn't bring him in on time, he would have more serious complications. Diamond Dog Food company needs to recall their food from all shelves before more pet owners and the pets suffer!

My dogs are 4 and 7 both in excellent health. The youngest is full pit and the other a mix. I purchased a bag of Diamond Naturals lamb and rice last Friday 8/19/2016. They have both been on this this food for several years. By Sunday Jack - the youngest - was very lethargic and in a daze. He was drinking but refused to eat unless hand fed. My other dog stopped eating Sunday but had no other symptoms. Jack continued to be in a daze, almost not recognizing us, no energy at all, could barely get off the floor. He seemed better Monday afternoon, but relapsed again Tuesday. Upon researching food recalls I hit the jackpot and found this site. We immediately got new food and he began to eat this afternoon. His glands are very swollen and I am hoping that any damage is repairable. We are waiting for blood work.
This evening he ate an entire bowl of home cooked food, as did our other dog. There is no doubt it was his food, not only were we force feeding it to him, we obviously were poisoning him as well. Hoping we caught this soon enough, it is sickening that Diamond has not recalled this food that has killed and injured many. It seems I am one of the lucky ones that may have caught this before death. Our feed store refunded us immediately and were also very concerned and unaware of issues with this food.

I buy the Diamond Naturals Lamb and Rice for my cat and my dog and my daughter's two dogs. Three weeks ago my cat broke out in horrible hives and started losing his hair and hind end. He's so bad now he has no control over bladder, has lost lots of weight and is going crazy with itching. All three dogs have loose stools and two have moderate itching while the bigger dog the third one has huge sores, no bladder control, losing hair, and is losing his mind over the itch. Wouldn't have thought food except about 150 other dogs are suffering same symptoms and some have died eating the diamond naturals. So this is no coincidence. Something has happened in the facility that makes packages and distributes this food. Several have been sold at Menards all over Michigan.
We live in Jackson, Michigan and all bags have been bought in end of July first of August. You really need to investigate what's going on with your food. My poor cat has been with us 10 yrs and I have to have him put to sleep as his kidneys are failing. Also the big dog has same kidney failure symptoms. RECALL THIS DOG AND CAT FOOD BEFORE MORE INNOCENT FAMILY MEMBERS DIE TO WHATEVER IS MAKING THEM SICK.

I've had my American bulldog on the diamond naturals beef and sweet potato for about a year and a half. I moved from colorado to Illinois in February and when I ran out of the food from colorado in March, I re loaded. He began showing signs of food allergy that I have see. Before, but also the seasons changed so I thought it wasn't the grasses. Finally went to the vet and was told bacterial infection. While treating this, I gave him boiled potatoes, tuna, broccoli, coconut/fish oil. It cleared up, but halfway through the next bag, it flared up again. I can only deduce the incessant scratching from something in the food led to the infection. Reading the post about the English bulldog with oozing sores only gave me more empirical evidence to support my claim. I believe blue buffalo comes from the SE factory in south Carolina, and merely repackaged in different bags. Blue buffalo had a recall the same time I started fighting this - coincidence? I think NOT!!!

I am writing this review to let others know what happened to my dogs after eating this food. I bought a bag to switch foods because the other brand I was using started making smaller bags and the price went up. So I did some research and read a lot of reviews and thought that Diamond Naturals was a good choice. Unfortunately 2 of my 4 dogs became ill shortly after starting this food. I have 2 German shepherds, a coonhound and a mixed breed dog. The two German shepherds are the ones who got sick and the other 2 tolerated the food. I started out very slowly mixing the new food in with the old and noticed one shepherd started having diarrhea, vomiting, became lethargic, lost her appetite, was extremely gassy and had a horrible smell whenever she was near me.
The next day the other shepherd started having the same symptoms. It was about 4-5 days after starting the Diamond food that I realized it must be that. I immediately started giving them probiotics and boiled chicken and rice for their stomach problems and stopped giving them the Diamond and went back to their original food brand. Within one day the first dog started feeling better and the next day the second one did also. It has taken about 4-5 days total to get them back to normal. I looked up consumer complaints about Diamond dog food and was surprised to find as many as I did in very close proximity to the dates of my dogs having issues. There should obviously be a recall on this food as some people have lost their dogs after eating it.

The last bag was bought about two weeks ago and since the younger dog will not eat the food and was losing weight. The older dog ate but had extreme loose stool and losing ability to control peeing. I went to the closest store and bought Purina Natural dog food and came home and put just a handful in their dish on top of the Diamond. They went after the Purina like they were starving but would not touch the Diamond.
I called the store (Family Farm & Home in Manistee, Mi.) and asked if there had been any recall on this and they said no but to bring in the receipt or proof of purchase and they would refund our money. I kept a small amount of the dog food and asked them to have Diamond test it. They told me to contact Diamond myself. I also called my veterinarian and asked him what to do. He said get rid of the Diamond. Having read up on changing dog food, you are supposed to gradually incorporate the new food in but he said no, just get rid of the Diamond and leave them on the Purina. It was his opinion that there was something wrong with the food. I went of the Diamond website and it was full of other people with the same problems including some dogs dying; any info would be appreciated..

We purchased Diamond Puppy food from Menards in Traverse City, MI June 29th, 2016. It was my prior understanding that Diamond was a "better" dog food so we decided to switch our new puppy to this brand without doing the research. We fed him 3 bowls of food over the next couple of days. Over the Fourth of July weekend - he became so incredibly ill he would barely stand up. He had vomited in his kennel overnight and we bathed him - he proceeded to get more sick and his skin was inflamed, oozing and he smelled like a rotting dead animal. It was the most horrific stench coming from our pup. By the time my husband and I had thought back on the events & timing of his sickness we immediately knew it was his new food. Theo is our fourth English Bulldog and we have never seen this before.
On July 3rd, he would barely move. We needed to pick him up out of his kennel to bring him outside. He was excessively thirsty, and would lay down while drinking all the water he could get. The kennel was layered in dog hair - unreal amounts of shedding. He was weak and could not stand on his feet. While we celebrated the Fourth of July with family we shared our concerns about our dog & the new dog food and unbeknownst to us they had alarmed us about other dogs becoming sick from this food & many dying. As I read through these reviews I was shocked!!!
We switched him back to the original food he was on (Purina Beneful). He ate immediately - Theo has lost a huge patch of hair which is now bare skin & he is still losing chunks and handfuls of hair. Ten days later he is a little spunkier but still not himself. His skin reaction/infection is now cracking & bleeding. There is absolutely no doubt in our minds his sickness is directly related to this horrible dog food!!

Their hair is all matted because of their excessive chewing and licking. It's pathetic. There is something wrong with this dog food!!! They need to recall it and get it off the shelves!! I didn't realized that the hair loss and vomiting could have been linked to the food until I started reading these reviews, now it all makes perfect sense. After nursing him back to what we thought was health after going through spells over the course of a couple of week he died four days later.
Our pit bull mix started having a upset stomach with the same symptoms as the dog that just passed only not as severe. 2-3 weeks after our first boxer died and he died 2 days later. I'm not sure that the food is the exact reason, but after seeing all the other reviews, I'm not sure that the food wasn't the cause. She ordered chicken, which I had not fed to my dogs.
For the last 2 weeks, the dogs have turned super gassy, and my wiener dog has been itching excessively. (They're both on flea/tick prevention). My pit bull stops to eat grass when we go on walks, which she never had done this but occasionally. My wiener dog barely eats his food. Before, he would never walk away from his bowl, now, he barely cares and the pit bull comes to clean it out because she is insatiable. But the wiener dog is just not that interested. Something has offended their digestive system and it is affecting the skin on my wiener dog because the itching is ridiculous and I had to put an E-Collar on him so he wouldn't put a bald spot on himself. I am not sure what the formula difference is, but this is not working for us. I will desist feeding them this and will go back to Taste of Wild and see how it goes.

A year later - now - I had a german shepherd puppy I thought it might have been just the goldendoodle having his own personal issues with dealing with certain foods so I would give Diamond naturals large breed puppy another try. Meanwhile fed other 2 dogs this dog food, as we suspected a trip to the lake, had made Hazel sick. All 3 dogs now on chicken and rice diet, anti nausea meds, and probiotic to restore gut health. Showing marked improvement since feed was removed. A search online revealed several other people with dogs showing same symptoms. Her stool began to be very mucous-cased, and then yellow and foamy. Because she had allergies to corn and artificial colors, she was never allowed any people food -- only her Diamond food. I took her to the vet in May, but her blood work came back clear. By the end of June she experienced a night of projectile vomiting and explosive diarrhea. Again, the labs came back fine, and home-cooked chicken and rice for several weeks gave her some strength back. I buried my beautiful Golden on Monday, Nov. 2, 2016. Liver failure. She was one month past her eighth birthday. I spoke with Diamond's veterinarian twice over the past three months and begged them to fix the problem with the food, but they maintain there is no problem. I cannot recommend this food brand.

He actually eats it, and it's grain free. He looks fantastic, and there are a bunch of grain-free flavors I can mix up. I don't want to eat the same thing every day. I suspect the dog thinks the same. Currently, he's eating a mixture of two bags: chicken with sweet potato and beef. He seems satisfied and happy!

I have three cocker spaniels. Teddy is 7, Ellie is 8 and Cassie is a rescue that I just adopted in May. She is 14. I buy Diamond Lite Lamb and Rice, very healthy dog food. Teddy and Ellie love it and are very healthy and have lost weight on this food. The real miracle is Cassie. When I got her, I thought she didn't have much time left to her life. She was disinterested in anything going on and ignored the other dogs. She barely moved and spent a lot of time sleeping. After only three months of eating this food, she is jumping around like a puppy. She runs all over the yard and through the house. She follows Teddy around and wants to do whatever he is doing. I attribute this change in her behavior to the natural products in the dog food. I wrote to Diamond to let them know. They appreciated my input.

My 3 month old German shorthair pointer became ill after eating Diamond naturals large breed puppy food after 2 weeks eating it. I was impressed with the ingredients and the price so I switched him to it because the PetSmart brand I was feeding him was becoming too costly. His stools were always soft while eating it and I thought that was okay. Then after 2 weeks he developed very loose stool with mucus blobs in it, then it became every hour liquid. After 2 days off his food, giving him Kaopectate, Pedialyte, pumpkin and rice he was having normal poop. I fed him twice his food again and that evening after his second feeding he had once again soupy diarrhea. Obviously it's the dog food. I found this site and all the other stories are so similar.
I'm really mad. At the same time I bought the Diamond dog food I also thought it would be good to switch our cat’s food to Diamond cat food because the ingredients sounded good. He also had bloody diarrhea in his litter box after eating it, but I didn't pay attention to it as much because he's 15 and I thought it must be issues with his age. Now I believe it was the food and will take him off it as well. The store would not refund my money. They said Diamond has no type of guarantee or customer satisfaction refunds. They should be shut down.

Since then he has gotten very sick. He has been to the Vet and has a clean bill of health including blood work and two complete physicals in 6 months, however he has developed no appetite for this food, severe Diarrhea and has lost 20 lb and cannot hardly walk. The Vet cannot find anything wrong but the store where we got the food appeared that the Diamond food was pulled from the shelf so we checked this site and found lots of others dealing with this issue... Does anyone have any ideas what is wrong with this food and how to save my dog... We have put him on prescription dog food but he is still not doing well. I cannot yet confirm it is the food but the story line sure fits the other complaints.

I didn't suspect the food but he was on bland diet for a whole week. We started giving him dry food again but this time we are giving him a different brand but I still have big bag of Diamond Naturals food. So I am slowly increasing the amount but as soon as I started giving him Diamond again, he is showing signs of problems. I purchased a 40 lb bag of Diamond Naturals Large Breed Puppy dog food last week for my 6-month old Collie. The item was on sale at Pet Supplies Plus and I decided to give it a try. It was an enormous mistake and one I regret dearly. I was not aware of the past Diamond pet food problems with its products making pets sick back in 2012 and 2006. I only found out after doing research online. There are numerous other pet owners with similar issues after their pets ate Diamond brand dog food.
My puppy was extremely healthy before I started him on Diamond. He never had any issues like runny stools, vomiting, not drinking water, or lethargic behavior. His stool was always hard since we got him at 3 months with no diarrhea or other health issues. I started him on Diamond Naturals last week for three days before stopping immediately after going online and researching his symptoms. The first day he ate Diamond, at night he started getting diarrhea 4 times overnight. The second day he wasn't drinking water or even walking down the stairs. Now, before he was the kind of puppy that ran up and down the stairs five, six times just for fun. After one day of eating Diamond, he couldn't walk down stairs. The second day he stopped drinking water and just lay on the floor and started throwing up.
The third day, he totally stopped eating anything. Beforehand, anytime we fed him his food in the bowl, it usually took him 2 mins to finish everything. The third day, he wasn't eating and still vomiting and getting running diarrhea 5 times that day. I stopped giving him Diamond on the third day and returned to the original food we gave before. He immediately started getting better on the fourth and fifth days. His stool was still runny but by the fifth day it had hardened and he was not vomiting. I am fortunate I researched his symptoms online and stopped after just a few days giving him Diamond. It could have been much worse. Now, he is feeling back to his usual puppy self in less than a week. Diamond has no recalls I found, which is completely unacceptable. It is definitely an issue with their dog food.

I was feeding my puppy Diamond Dog Food because it said all natural and ingredients seemed better than most. He was doing okay for a while, but then he started having bloody stools and loose runny stools. He was also having urination problems. I think the toxic food was building up so much in his system he was losing control of his little bladder. He had never peed on me before and then twice in one week he peed on me and it was like he didn't even know it!!! He would pee in little spots a lot. I took him to the vet and after X-rays and blood work. $$$$$$ later Vet couldn't find anything so recommended me to change his food.
She said she doesn't recommend Diamond Food. I switched his food and he is perfect! Actually he is better than he was!!! I was having issues potty training him and now he is potty trained! I believe the bad food just made him so sick he had no time to get to the door! Now he gets it because he is on better food that doesn't make him just have to go asap! Please PLEASE don't feed your dog this food. I have no proof it was the dog food but don't believe in coincidences. On the food - sick and can't control bladder or colon and on new food - he is perfect. You be the judge.

The shepherd started throwing up shortly after but we thought it may just be the change in food, new home, etc. Then our shih-Tzu started getting lethargic. We thought it was due to age. Our Bulldog then started getting very sick, stopped eating, diarrhea, lethargic. Then he started throwing up too. Even projectiling at times. His throw up was very weird in color, not stomach acid. Once again, we thought he was getting sick due to having spina bifida for all his life and he's just getting worse. Then one night 3 dogs threw up including the healthy bloodhound. Hello. Light bulbs...... the food?
We took them all off the food, gave them some very strong antibiotics used for bacterial infections. Started a new food a couple days later. They are all doing great now. Obviously it was the Diamond Dog Food. Stay away from their food. It makes dogs very sick and some are dying. Someone NEEDS to shut them down and figure this out. This is not their first time with bad foods. Please, someone do something to protect our pets.

I have a German pinscher that was feeding Purina and he was doing great until one day I walked in pet supermarket and saw the Diamond food - a 40 pound bag for 40.00. I thought wow this is a good deal and the sales guy made it sound it was a very good food high quality so I thought well let me give it a shot.
After 2 weeks of giving it to him he went on the runs like crazy but I thought hey maybe because I changed his food, his stomach will get used to it because this food is very high in protein. So as time goes by my dog starts getting patches all over his body, starts tearing his paws - chewing them until they went raw. Taking him to the vet 3 times and nothing would help. As soon as I took him off this crap Diamond my dog is the happiest dog ever. Everything went back to normal. Oh and I also forgot to mention he started losing weight so fast. On August 29, 2015 my daughter purchased a new bag of Diamond Naturals "Large Breed Puppy" food from Tractor Supply in Rock Hill SC. The same day we fed the dog, within 2 hours she developed diarrhea. The diarrhea persisted, she would not drink water and we became concerned. We did not feed her anymore of the Diamond food and started feeding her chicken and rice which helped control her bowels but did not stop the diarrhea and bloody stools.
My daughter contacted her Veterinarian for an appointment. After examining a stool sample the Vet found no signs of Bacteria or Parasites. The recommendation was to discontinue the use of Diamond food and to continue feeding her "Chicken & Rice". The Vet gave her antibiotics and another med to replenish the good bacteria in her system. After a few days the diarrhea slowed down and she began to drink small amounts of water. In a little over a week she seems to be back to normal, but still eating the "Chicken & Rice" After reading numerous comments on what seems to be Nationwide now, there is a good possibility that there is an issue with a large amount of Diamond dog foods over the past months.

Never any problems. A few weeks ago we purchased the same dog food - Diamond Naturals Lamb and Rice from a Tractor Supply dealer in Granville NY (upstate). The dog developed diarrhea on the Diamond, cleared off it, then developed diarrhea again when we put her back on. Now she is on a different brand. We went through a few months of this and when he was 6 months old we switched to Diamond Naturals adult formula.

I have 6 Cavalier King Charles spaniels and two large breed dogs. I fed a high-quality grain free food for all their lives until about a year ago when I switched to Diamond Naturals Chicken and Rice. It had excellent ratings on a popular dog food site and it would save me considerable money over what I have been feeding so I figured if it was just as good, why not feed it? The problems I noticed were with coat, body condition and irritation/allergic type problems. More so than digestive (though there were some issues there as well).
The change was gradual in some ways and in other ways sudden. Two of my Cavaliers in particular began excessively itching. They had raw places and were licking their paws and digging at their skin constantly. The change to their coats snuck up on me. They had such soft, plush long coats. The first thing I noticed was I was having to vacuum every day and massive amounts of hair just continued to be shed. Two of the dogs had been spayed/neutered a couple months prior to the food switch, so initially I thought the coat changes were due to the hormone changes of being fixed. But then the other four young previously healthy dogs were losing coat and a couple of them were even losing weight.
Their poops were not consistent. I didn't have nonstop vomiting and diarrhea but they would occasionally have diarrhea and when they did, it was like mucousy blobs along with soft poop and they would vomit foamy yellow bile on occasion. It was when one of the dogs I had previously bred (and whose two littermates I still had kept here) came to visit for a couple weeks that it drove home to me the change. His coat was soft and thick and plush, whereas the coats on my dogs including his two littermates were dull and dry and thin by comparison. I was shocked. Then I started looking at my dogs more critically and became angry that I had not noticed the problem quicker.
So I instantly switch them back to a quality grain free kibble and I am slowly introducing raw to their diets and I'm anxiously waiting for these changes to reverse.I don't know what's wrong with this food, but something is wrong with this food. Maybe it is the raw ingredients coming from China as these companies import their meat meals and so there's no telling what kinds of additives and preservatives or contaminants are in that meat meal. I have never made a complaint about dog food my whole life but whatever is wrong here is a big problem and people need to be aware.

I switched 2 years ago from Purina to Diamond's Natural Dry Dog Food thinking I was helping my dogs live longer. I started seeing horrible runny stools with my dogs about a year ago. In January we adopted a GSD and when he started eating the dog food along with my other 2 dogs he too developed diarrhea and itching. I Googled the problem just last week and it said possibly the food. I had taken my oldest dog to the vet because of her itchy skin problem even. Even my Chihuahua was developing the same symptoms. I have had her over a year but she didn't eat much of the dry food. Not like the big dogs who were around 5 cups or more a day.
Sometimes the dogs were a little better when I purchased Kirkland Chicken and Rice Brand but that was rarely because I don't live close to a Costco but never dawned on me it was the Diamond that was my problem. So I switched to Purina ONE SmartBlend Dry Dog Food, Lamb and Rice Formula. Now just 5 days and the stools are normal and slowly the itching is getting better. That will take time to get the Diamond out of their system for the itching. Luckily I was nearly out of Diamond so not much got mixed back into the new food.
I am heart broken thinking all these years I have been hurting my pets. All my dogs did was poop! And the smell was horrible! Thankfully I adopted the GSD or it never would have dawned on me that it was the dog food. So sometimes the so called Higher Quality Dog Food isn't that great. Purina has never failed me so now I am wondering why I ever changed.
Please please if you see these symptoms change the food to what you trust. I am buying the better quality Purina but that is because of the switch. I purchase a 40# bag of dog food a month so to think how much I hurt my dogs.. I am totally devastated! At around $35.00 a bag that is a lot of money and pain I have caused my babies! In 2 years 3 of my dogs have passed. I can't say it was the food but did it cause the symptoms they got before they passed away? I still have the one that has eaten this food for the last 2 years - her symptoms are horrible itching and runny stools. Now she is getting better and it isn't a week yet! Hopefully the itching will get better as the days go by now and she can go off her itching meds. I have attached for them here 2 of my receipts for proof I did purchase Diamond Natural. I have many more receipts but not on hand.

I recently switched my dog's food to Diamond Naturals Lamb and Rice about 4 weeks ago. At first, my dog began having loose stools and and her bowel movements increased from 2x a day to 3-5x a day. Her stomach began grumbling every day and she became extremely gassy. I thought these symptoms were caused from making a switch in her diet, even though it was gradual. After 4 weeks of eating solely Diamond dog food, my dog started vomiting profusely and had diarrhea which had a lot of mucus in most of her movements.
After 2 days of vomiting and diarrhea, I rushed her to a local pet hospital where she was admitted and lots of tests performed. More than $400 was spent plus I missed work. All tests came back negative. Blood work showed nothing as well. She has been on a bland diet for 3 1/2 days now and all symptoms have completely vanished. There is no doubt in my mind Diamond food is to blame. It is no coincidence that all these complaints share so many common symptoms in our dogs. I will not use this brand ever again and Diamond owes us all the money lost in buying poisoned dog food, vet bills, time missed at work, and all the pain, suffering, and unbelievable worry and grief it had caused us.

My dog has had diarrhea for two weeks now, no change in food. After researching I see that I am not the only pet owner experiencing problems. Shame on Diamond Pet food, this isn't their first incident.

We adopted a 1 year old puppy a little over a month ago. He was always fed 4 Health dog food but they don't offer that brand at our local pet store. So, we asked an employee what they recommended. They told us Diamond Naturals were the way to go. I'm a very health conscious person so I read through the ingredients very carefully and decided it was an okay food to feed my precious puppy. I gradually switched him on the lamb and rice formula. I noticed his bm's were softer, slightly more frequent and kind of yellowish colored. I figure he was just adjusting to the new food or got into something he shouldn't have.
Shortly after I woke up one morning to him throwing up on the floor. Then I noticed he was making a kind of coughing noise, he was itching more and shedding a little more. I figure it's spring so his skins probably irritated and there's a lot of pollen in the air. Then he threw up again, and then again. So, I took him to the vet and he said my pup probably wasn't digesting his food properly and prescribed us some medicine. I come home to my boyfriend's step mom sorting the Diamond Naturals out of her dog's previous food. She mixed them to gradually give her 9 year old Shihtzu the same food. I asked what she was doing and she just showed me all the reviews.
All the complaints about other dogs getting sick from it and their symptoms fit my dog. I was disgusted that this company has been poisoning dogs for so long and hadn't done anything about it. The first thing I did was throw out all his dog food. The second thing I did was call the Diamond food company very upset about this. They've never recalled the brand. They deny that their food is doing this. All they could say was "We'll send you a refund and our vet will call you back." I have yet to hear from the vet but my puppy is already better. This company is sick and I've been arguing with our local pet store about recommending it to people.

We got a Great Pyrenees puppy in February. She came on Diamond puppy food so we didn't change it. She has had loose stools and constant scratching and biting of her skin ever since we got her. After reading the reviews we discovered it was her food! She's been tested by the vet for everything and has good health so no reason for her symptoms... Diamond products should be pulled from sales period! Just happy we learned this now and can change it before she gets super sick.

Buy Diamond's Chicken and Rice formula by the pallet. No problems until the last purchase in March 2015, when they allegedly added probiotics. Have seven dogs. Two so far developed wicked diarrhea. Given the countless complaints on this website alone, Diamond food is the culprit here. What company would risk their reputation with these problems? Do the right thing Diamond, man up. Recall the product at a minimum.

I bought two bags of this on Amazon at a great price and I thought it was a quality dog food. I have 3 large dogs, so I have to watch the cost of food. I started adding a small amount to their regular food and noticed a lot of gas coming from them on the first day. The second day after adding more to their regular food (I mixed for 5 days) I noticed their stools softening just a bit. This got progressively worse the more new food I introduced. Their normal BM schedule is 2 times a day. This changed to 3 or 4, some occurring in the house. I notified Amazon and they issued a full refund and told me to either dispose of the food or donate it. I cannot in good conscience donate this food to the Humane Society. I'm switching them back to Nature's Recipe full strength today, and I hope they recover quickly.

Towards end of last bag (1st of April), Golden Retriever pup (16 months old) began vomiting occasionally, thought it was from grass or mud he ate out in the yard. Then the diarrhea started and off we went to the vet - we did not wait because our dogs never get sick like that. Took 2 visits and an overnight stay to see him begin healing up. Put off a vacation for a week to make sure he was well. The vet put him on a VERY expensive prescription food ($4 a pound for dry; $3 a can for wet). Went on vacation for a week, boarded all 3 Goldens, pup was on the prescription food the whole time, no diarrhea. After we got back, we then started blending him back to the Diamond food when the Hill's got low, new bag of Diamond this time. Diarrhea returned when he was 3/4 of the way back on Diamond. Medication from vet this time, more of the expensive food..
Now healed up and time to start blending him back to a normal food - it will NOT be Diamond brand. Contacted Diamond through their website at first occurrence, they said they had not changed their formula for quite a while, I do not remember the exact time period but it was 3 or 4 years at least. Also advised me of their money back guarantee (with receipt of course). Looks like they changed SOMETHING!! Have spent $200 plus at vet. Pup never acted very sick, just very embarrassed when he had accidents in the house.

We normally buy the high energy red bag of Diamond. Noticed the packaging was different but figured at some point everyone changes a look. My pit-pointer mix has had real bad gas and both dogs have had black diarrhea. My Boston terrier has it bad... he is going out more often and having diarrhea several times a day. After reading these other issues I think Diamond owes a lot of money back.
