    I signed up for BarkBox several months ago after my cousin recommended it to help provide my pup with some entertainment when I was away. So far I have been happy with it. You get an assortment of treats and toys each month and my dog smells the box the second it arrives and gets excited. I signed up for the SuperChewer version since my dog is a strong chewer. I will get a toy every month or two that just doesn't last more than a few minutes after giving it to her. Luckily you just email BarkBox with a picture of the destroyed toy and they send out a new one free of charge that is more tailored to your dog's chewing style. So far I have been very pleased with the customer support.

    Bolt and Stitch absolutely love their BarkBox! If there has been any treat they didn’t like or toy and I told them they always put it in a list to not send it. The boxes are truly tailored to your dog's liking! But you got to make the effort on your part to let them know because they are not psychic. They are always friendly and helpful. I think your dogs deserve this box. You are going to spend 20 dollars a month anyways on treats if you actually are treating your dog! Why not add toys too with this box! It’s a heck of a deal they are giving you in the first place! Gratitude comes to mind! Sincerely, Bolt and Stitch’s mom!

    I am/was a long standing customer of BarkBox and I used to speak so highly of them so I am actually quite sad that I have to write this review. Let me start by saying, their customer service is exceptional.. The problem is, I shouldn't have to be contacting customer service on a monthly basis! I feel like issues started arising after their warehouse change, ever since then I have had to contact them literally every single month with an issue. My issues range from my BarkBox never shipping out until the next month when I contact them asking If they could kindly send me the box they owe me before billing me for another.. to sending me the wrong items that don't follow my dog's preferences (I assume maybe they ran out of big dog toys and think it's ok to stick small ones in?). Unfortunately, I have cancelled my subscription and unless I hear of big changes, I can't see myself going back. I'll have to find a new service to spoil my pup!

    I subscribed to BarkBox a few months ago and was so excited to get started. Unfortunately, I have had quite a few negative experiences. To start, I’ve needed to contact customer service just about every month since I started for a number of different reasons, including late shipment (up to a month late) on two occasions, as well as failure to follow my puppy’s preferences. This past incident, I reached out to the company reporting how unsatisfied I was with the service and that I would like to cancel my subscription. It has been more than 24 hours without any response or indication of receiving my concerns, further supporting their poor quality of service. With most “trendy” start-up companies and subscription services, I’ve found customer service to be excellent; however, BarkBox falls far short of those previous experiences. I truly expected so much more from BarkBox.

    I purchased a 6 month subscription of the super chewer box. After 3 months, we figured out my rescue pup didn’t like the treats and had an allergy to something we are figuring out with our vet. I contacted Bark Box and used the chat feature. I wanted to cancel at the end of the 6 months. They asked why and made some offers. They customized my remaining boxes, which I thought was awesome. Then I found my credit card was charged and my subscription was not cancelled. I contacted Bark Box again and the response was I am required to complete my commitment but was directed to log in and cancel for future renewal. I already cancelled and was still renewed. They didn’t do their job and cancel it the first time I asked. Now I am contacting my credit card company to get my money back that way because it was not an authorized charge. Very frustrating. That is how subscription boxes steal your money. Not worth the hassle.

    I signed my dog up for the 6 month subscription. This is $29 a month which is not cheap. My dog is a dachshund and yet is able to destroy the toys within the same day of receiving them. Also, I’ve always been charged and then like a week later received the box. This month (May) I was charged on the 3rd of the month and it is now the 20th and I have not received the box or even a tracking number. I reached out to customer service and after waiting about a week for a response, which is unacceptable, I was told that BarkBox always charges around the 3rd of the month, ships the 15th of the month and boxes are received around the 23rd of the month. This is not true as my dog has always received his box BY the 13th/14th of each month.

    I’ve used the email, phone, and chat option and have received no apology or offer to fix this situation. They do not care and I refuse to continue to pay $29 a month for something that is ruined within hours of receiving. As much as these toys are they should not be made so cheaply that this happens. They should be very durable but when they is said to them their only suggestion is to pay $10 more every month for the Super Chewer plan. I will never pay more for these crap toys. It’s sad because my dog enjoys opening his box but I’ll find another company to switch to. One that has ethics, good customer service, and better made products that last. Save yourself money and a headache by not signing up for BarkBoxes.

    Absolute worst experience I have ever had dealing with a company. I joined a 12 month subscription because they say their toys are indestructible and if they get destroyed, they will replace them for free. My 70lb lab mix chews through these toys in less than 5 minutes, and every time I ask for a replacement, I get the same toy. He gets the same treats over and over. I have called and complained twice to try to cancel, and they constantly give me the runaround saying they already have the toys for his next box. Then all of the sudden they can switch him to just treats. I thought you already had the toys so I couldn't cancel? Then they tell me they can let me cancel after two more months which I wasn't told TWO MONTHS AGO when I asked to cancel in the first place. I was reasonable and nice and voiced all my concerns and they still won't let me cancel.

    It is 2019. What kind of company doesn't let a very upset customer out of a crappy subscription? This company needs to get it together. People don't put up with this crap anymore, especially not the millennials that are probably their biggest customers. We assume good companies will take care of us when we're dissatisfied, but THIS ONE DOES NOT. I am paying $30 per month for JUNK. My dog is not that strong at all. I don't know how this company has any good reviews. Take your money and get good stuff at PetSmart or something. THIS IS A SCAM.

    Signed up for a special $5 monthly box, little did I know, that I signed into a 12 month subscription. Emailed company explaining the situation and that the box wasn’t working for us because the toys and treats were too big for our chihuahuas. Lady basically told me I’m out of luck that I can’t cancel. So here I am paying a ridiculous amount of money each month for stuff we can’t even use.

    The customer service and passion these pup-folks have for doggies and their owners is simply outstanding. It passes every other pet subscription company by a league, and is infinitely better than Petco's "PupBox". PupBox is basically items that Petco can't sell and is barely worth the shipping cost. BarkBox is amazing, creative and with the best customer service you'll receive the industry. Our pups have the regular box, but have also tried out the Super Chewer box. Woof! Thanks BarkBox folks!

    I have had Barkbox since December. In February my dog died and I lost my job a few weeks later. Barkbox has refused to let me end my contract. DO NOT SIGN UP with this company, they obviously do not care about their customers or the customer's owners. The sad part is, when I am ready to get another dog I would have probably signed back up.

    I travel a lot with my dog in my motor home and make sure that current address is up to date. I left CA to head to MD and changed my address in advance. Bentley's BarkBox was mailed to the CA address instead and unfortunately, was lost when forwarded. I emailed Barkbox to tell them the problem and never received a reply. Plus he never received his last BarkBox which I paid for. Customer service is awful. He really enjoyed his boxes each month but because I never heard back from them and paid for something I never received I cancelled my subscription.

    After ordering a one month subscription I decided it was overpriced for what you got so I emailed to cancel and manually canceled my order. This month I received an email charging me again. I shared my email canceling the order and the company is now saying that they did not receive my request. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD. You will never get out of the subscription even if it's just a one time month subscription.

    It looks like we were able to get Nimis all taken care of and refund your May BarkBox.     I didn't receive my April 2019 BarkBox. After emailing hundreds of times, Ellen (A BarkBox Ambassador) emailed me saying that it is either delayed or lost in transit - (obviously!). She said she will ship out a new one. It is now May 3, 2019, and no new Bark Box has been shipped out to me. YET, this morning I wake up to a new charge for May 2019's BarkBox. Wouldn't it be respectful and professional for you to figure out if I got my April 2019 box shipped out first? I am about to issue a charge back with my credit card company if I don't receive an update about this soon. It doesn't take this long to ship out a box, if they indeed sent a 2nd box. I got scammed.

It looks like you chatted in on April 30th and we placed the order that day! For our Canadian pups, there is a 2-3 day processing window and then a 4-12 day delivery window once that box ships out!

    You can use the link below to keep an eye on that box! It looks like it is on the way to our Distribution center and should be heading to the border soon!     I placed my order for my first BarkBox in the beginning of April and it had some hiccups in the process. I got the 12 month subscription with extra toy and I noticed on the 17th it still hadn't shipped so I use the chat option on their website. They told me it would ship by Friday that week at the latest and not to worry. I contacted them again Friday and talked to Danielle who was super awesome and got my order straightened out. We did get disconnected on the phone but she responded with an email and promised my box would ship the following Monday since it was Easter weekend but they would send me a bonus to make up for my delay. So my box was late but they gave me extra toys and discount on this box which more than made up for the inconvenience of a late box. :)

    I have contacted them at LEAST a dozen times. Text, email, instant chat. If you have a problem, you won’t get any customer service. The one time I got to talk to someone, they gave me an option to resolve the issue... But I responded back immediately and that was it. They didn’t do anything we talked about, didn’t respond back... Nothing. Unbelievable. Since then I have reached out more times than I can count and get nothing. This was a service I thought could be fun. It’s terrible.

    I ordered BarkBox for 6 months. They sent items that were were very inappropriate for my small dog. The items were wrapped tennis ball enclosed in plastic holder. My dog hates the treats. I attempted to cancel this service and the company refuses. First when I sign up nowhere did it indicate I would be forced to keep paying for these boxes. This company is deceptive by saying a subscription service. Every subscription I've had I could cancel. They stall and send you replacement items just as bad as the first ones. I do plan on following up with a lawyer to prevent others from being deceived by this company. This company can't be trusted to do the right thing, and it has refused to give me customer service. Very disappointed I trusted them.

    They sent a terrible box! Not at all appropriate to my dog's size. Everything was huge and not for a small dog. Their policy is no returns or refunds, even if they send the wrong items. They did offer to send new items but I wasn't interested due to the lackluster box.

    The toys are cute, but the customer service is unbelievably bad. In October my BarkBox was shipped and was clearly damaged and never left the FedEx facility. It took several ugly emails before BarkBox would send out another. They kept telling me that they ‘were sniffing out the problem.’ A couple months later my dogs didn’t like any of the toys. I responded to an email asking me to rate the BarkBox and I replied that they hadn’t liked it. Someone reached out to me to ask what they had liked in the past and said he would send more toys. I sent a detailed email naming past toys that they loved in response. Never received a thing. In February I got an offer to double the BarkBox for an additional $18.

    I have three dogs, so I paid the $18 and my dogs were very happy. I emailed to ask if I could just upgrade to a double box each month without having to wait for the offer. The answer was no, I would have to wait for the offer each month, but that I would definitely get the offer each month. In early April I emailed to ask about it. I was told that it was too late for April. I responded by sending a screenshot of the email that stated that I would receive this offer every month. Another rep wrote back and said that she could charge my credit card the $18 and send the additional toys separately. I responded and asked her to do that. Nothing. No charge to my credit card and no additional BarkBox. This company is clearly very disorganized. While my dogs love the toys and treats, it’s not worth the hassle. As soon as my subscription runs out I am going to find another subscription service.

    Accidentally ordered the wrong size box - within 1 minute of placing order I contacted customer service. Took them THREE DAYS to respond and it had already shipped by then. I asked if I could repurchase the correct size and NEVER heard back. Box came in & my dog ripped up the toys in 2 seconds - contacted customer service again and it took a full day for them to tell me they upgraded me to stronger toys. Next month - my dog ripped up the toys AGAIN. Contacted customer service and took a full 24 hours to upgrade to Super Chewer box which is $10 more than the original BarkBox. Such a great concept but TERRIBLE customer service response time. And I feel like I wasted $40 on 2 boxes that have 0 toys my dog can play with (mind you my dog is a 20 lb cockapoo - not a crazy strong jaw).

    They do not allow you to cancel your subscription and will charge you for a full year after cancelling no matter what you do. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. Awful customer service, so rude. I lost my dog in an accident and now I have to get charged every month and receive painful reminders. Awful.

Normally, canceling stops the renewal at the end of the commitment period you signed up for, however, when a pup passes, we are absolutely able to close that out early. Because we were not aware that Dipper had passed, we did not know we needed to close it out.

    We have gone ahead and closed out the account immediately and issued a refund for both March and April's boxes. Our hearts go out to you and your family as you work through this loss. We wish there was more we could do. Dipper was obviously very lucky to have you in his life, to love and spoil him as much as we are sure you did.     For starters, my dog absolutely LOVES getting his BarkBox in the mail. He knows the package as soon as he sees it. We first started the subscription & everything was great (our only complaint is I wished we got more squirrel toys, but not the end of the world). My pup loved his toys & treats, so obviously I was absolutely going to renew, anything for our fur babies, right? Well this is where everything has gone downhill & seems to have been nothing but issues! The first error was a mistake I made when renewing, I contacted BarkBox & explained the situation & they told me they corrected the account error. So we renewed with a 6 month subscription plus the extra toy for free. When I renewed they sent us the March themed box (we renewed in Feb). So when it came time to get out box in March they tried to send me THE SAME EXACT box.

    I contacted customer support & after numerous emails they finally understood what I was trying to explain. They were saying I didn't get the box even though I had. So I now received a duplicate box. They told me they'd send a replacement box, so when we got that box they sent me an even OLDER theme. The prom theme (which happened to be my LEAST favorite) & it was missing our free toy. We had already received this box when it was the original theme back in June 2018. So again, I had to send another email to correct this issue. I was then told we would get another box to replace the issue. They sent it, but I guess realized they forgot a toy so then sent a separate toy the following day.

    After multiple complaints I was told they wouldn't charge me for the April box. Now all of a sudden my app has seemed to stop working. It will not update from March, with the incorrect theme. I even logged into the website version & it does not have any updated information for April. I'm not entirely sure why things have changed. Like I said; We were off to a great start & then things just took a turn for the worst. It has taken numerous emails to try & fix simple things that just have not been corrected. It is very frustrating having to constantly try to resolve issues, especially because my poor pup is the one that loses out here. My dog enjoys getting his BarkBox so much & half the time nothing is right. I was looking forward to renewing our subscription but lately it's been more of a hassle then anything. Extremely frustrating.

    It looks like April's box is still in the packing stage, which is why your account has not updated with any information yet! One thing we would like to note is that we are in the process of revamping our app and it is currently no longer available for download. If you previously had it downloaded, it still works, but it can be a little finicky (hence the revamp!).

    In an effort to make up the last couple of hiccups with your boy's box, we have added a free month onto Lucas' account, making May also on us! In addition, we have a special surprise heading his way directly from one of our members of the Happy Team! :)

    Tessie Mae had lots of fun for a few minutes. She promptly lost the soda can and we can’t find it anywhere and the other toys were torn up within minutes, although she still had a little ways to go on the corn cob. But she loved them and she had fun so that’s what counts. I would rate the Super Chewer box at a 3 because while Tessie had fun she destroyed the Super Chewer toys.

    Frustrated with no way to cancel subscription. Apparently when I signed up, I selected the 12 month subscription. I did not realize this locked me in for a whole year. I should have read the fine print, but went through the sign up too quickly. While the boxes are cute, they are truly overpriced, and generally one of the toys gets shredded within the first day. We really want to end BarkBox, but no matter how many times I have tried to get customer service to help, I get the same answer that there is nothing they can do. I will never recommend BarkBox to anyone for this reason.

    Kudos to whoever designed this month's Bark Box. It is the best one yet. I thought last month's was clever, but this month's was better. Toys are great; Haddie hoards each new one. Now every time we go out and try to find THE spot, I'll be thinking of "To pee or not to pee!"

    The only reason I periodically renew my subscription is bc my dog does absolutely love the treats and toys and gets so excited when it's 'mail day'. However the last two subscription I've had, have been nothing but problems month after month. While everyone else I know who has BarkBox gets their app updated around the 10th of the month and gets their box by the middle of the month. My app never updates until days before the end of the month and we are lucky if we even get our box during the month it was supposed to be delivered, most times it comes in the beginning of the following month.

    We've also had numerous issues with missing toys or pieces. And our newest problem is now we aren't even getting the new themes bc they "run out". For example last month was the 2nd month in our 6 month subscription and in February we received the current theme but then in the March box we got an outdated theme. I don't understand why we aren't receiving the same boxes as everyone else and why ours is consistently delivered weeks behind everyone else's.

All of our boxes ship out in waves starting around the 15th of the month, sometimes earlier!     We moved into temporary housing until we buy a home in another state which is job related. They said we could put our Subscription on hold. They emailed me back something totally you're irrelevant Of what I asked them to do. I Then called them and they said no problem. Two weeks later I hear they’re shipping my BarkBox to my old address. We have no permanent address at this time. It is a very poorly ran company and we will not renew. Also there are toys are mostly stuffed. My dog tears out all the stuffing and luckily has not eaten yet. My trainer’s dog had to go to the emergency vet hospital and it cost $300 to get the stuffing out of him. It is a total waste of money as I will not let my dog play with a stuffed toy. Highly recommend not joining.

    I had a great experience with BarkBox before, when my dog loved the toys and he was not a huge biter, so the durability of the toys was not an issue. After he passed, I adopted another dog, who bites through the toys so quickly. He ends up eating parts of the toy when it comes apart, so it was too dangerous. I thought it was a waste of money to keep paying for this subscription when the toys are not durable and fall apart. I have asked for more durable toys, and they said they would provide more durable toys but they are the same. They told me they will provide a replacement if my dog chews through the toys but that means I will have to ask for a replacement toy every month, but it's the same problem - it's still not durable enough.

    I have asked to cancel, and they said I am unable to because I have signed up for a 12 month commitment. So now I am paying for toys my dog cannot use! The company suggested signing up for "super chewer" instead BUT that does not change the fact that I am still stuck paying for toys my dog CANNOT use for longer than a few minutes because they are not durable enough - until August 2019. I am very disappointed with this company and do not suggest anyone sign up unless they have a dog who does not bite their toys a lot.

    Avoid these guys like the plague! I cannot get them to stop billing me. I've spoken with three different individuals and nobody can give me a straight answer as to what's going on. I did the trial box and honestly there was maybe 1 decent toy in there for my dogs- the rest were way too big or just not that great. I called and had them stop the service, but I've been billed 4 times since then! These toys are way too big for my dog anyway, so I'm not even using them. If I don't get a response from the company soon, I'm going to have to cancel my credit card. This is ridiculous that I have to resort to that! Try operating your company in an honest manner rather than simply not allowing people to stop the service. Once folks find out about what you're doing- nobody is going to sign up for this. If you guys don't straighten up soon, this business won't last- I guarantee it.

    Like so many others, our March BarkBox has still not arrived. We've called customer service, sent emails (to which we only received "canned" and frankly ridiculous responses "from" the "dogs in the warehouse" having fulfillment issues. Finally, we were told that the March box had shipped & that a credit would be applied for our "inconvenience." We still have not received the March box & no credit has been applied. I tracked the shipment and discovered that the expected delivery date is April 11, though it supposedly shipped in late March. Seriously, over two weeks??? That's just a few days before the April BarkBox should arrive! This is our second subscription year with BarkBox. And until this March (2019) we were pleased & so was our pup. Delivery notices were timely & so was our delivery - always by the 15th of each month. The products were high quality & the treats were healthy & varied.

    No one at Customer "service" (via phone nor email) will explain what the heck is going on, merely providing unkept "promises", vapid words and no results. We will wait until May 2019 to see if this resolves. If not, we'll cancel our subscription (though from above reviews, that sounds like another onerous process). As one-time happy customers, paying $30 per month for a service we are not receiving, we are disappointed & very unhappy. We have options & remedies are available. We will pursue those. Think twice before you subscribe to BarkBox until these issues are resolved & customer reviews reflect that.

    I joined BarkBox about 12 months ago and prepaid for my membership. Right when I signed up I told them that my dog had an allergy to pork and I was assured that only non pork treats would be sent for my dog. Every month I received pork treats, and I had to contact customer support 8 times reminding them that my dog was not supposed to receive pork treats but every month I kept getting treats my dog could not enjoy. Honestly you will save more money by just going to Amazon and buying toys and treats there. I was never contacted to resolve my issues even though I contacted them on 8 different occasions during my subscription and they never made any attempt to resolve the ongoing problems. If you have a dog that has allergies then stay away from BarkBox, they will only send you treats your dog can’t have!

    My pups have been receiving BarkBox for about a year now. At first I raved about this company, I tried to get everyone with pups to sign up! I even signed up for a second subscription to get my pups extra goodies! In March I didn't receive one of my boxes until the very end of the month, and one box was never received at all. I had to contact them several times and kept being told that there was a "hiccup" in the warehouse and kept getting assured that my box would come. Finally I contacted them and told them they could just refund me as it was the last day of the month and I still hadn't even received a shipping notification even. They obliged and refunded me but could not explain why I hadn't received my box at all. And did not even try to compensate with assuring a box would be sent!

    I ended up cancelling the second subscription due to this and will most likely be canceling my subscription all together if this kind of thing continues. I don't understand how a company goes so quickly from being the best customer service ever to suddenly being so unorganized seemingly. Very sad about how things are turning around, we used to look so forward to BarkBox day. :(

    I signed up for BarkBox for a year for my dog. The deal was for an extra free toy. I'm done the 12 months and without any proper notice they automatically renewed my account for another 12 months plus added toy which costs more. I have tried to contact this company in many ways with zero response to rectify this issue. I've called them, emailed them and messaged them on Facebook as well. I tried to speak to a person on their chat but got nowhere and ignored. I then was able to stop the automatic renewal however this company has gotten me into another 12 month contract with higher pricing I didn't agree to. I'm forced to purchase boxes till 2020. I will be contacting my credit card company to stop payments. I do NOT recommend this company. One month my dog did not receive a box which I was told I would receive a free month that did not happen. This company needs to be looked into.

    I ordered BarkBox for my dog Maya on March 18th. The website leads you to believe that your first order is shipped right after the order is placed and that subsequent orders would be shipped by the 15th of the month. Almost 3 weeks later and no shipping confirmation and no Bark Box. I've called twice and both times was told it would ship within "the next two days". I followed up with an email and haven't heard back from anyone. Today I was charged for the next box. So now I've paid for 2 and received zero. This service was recommended by 2 of our friends. I won't recommend them to anyone. I'm very disappointed. I wish I would have read these reviews first. I wouldn't have wasted my money. Customer service doesn't seem to be a priority.

February 3rd, I am overcharged on the monthly subscription price. I contacted BarkBox through chat and it was taken care of. From February 19th until the end of the month I attempted to contact BarkBox on a daily basis through text, chat, Facebook messenger, email (2 separate email addresses), and by phone. I received no response whatsoever until I was able to connect to someone through chat, 6 days after my initial contact. Our February box was never handed over to FedEx, only a label created. After going back and forth and phone calls over the next 24 hours, I was told a replacement box would be shipped out. At that time, I also switched our plan to toys only and was told there would be an extra toy included for the hassle as well as another toy to replace one from our January box.

    I received February's replacement box first of March. It included random small toys, no theme, no packaging, and one toy missing. I spoke to a few different reps in regards to receiving a box that was not the month's theme and missing a toy. I was told they didn't have the month's theme toys available but from then on out I would receive toy only themed boxes. I received no response on the missing toy. I did receive a credit for March's box due to the delay of February.

    March 24th, once again no box had been handed over to FedEx, only a label generated. I contact BarkBox again and was once again told a new box would be shipped. I received tracking within the next couple days and received the March replacement box on April 1st. Once again, it was a box with random toys, no packaging, no theme. Three out of the 4 toys we received, we already had, and were part of their $5 warehouse sale from the previous month. And again, I contact BarkBox. Rep seemed to be very confused and trying to make light of the situation.

    First explanation: The box we received April 1st was February's replacement box and March's box is on the way. I explained we received Feb's replacement beginning of March, this was not it. Second explanation: The box was sent as "extra goodies" and March's box has not shipped. I then questioned why it is April and March's box wasn't shipped and why I would be given tracking on an "extra goodies" box, that was actually leftover warehouse sale toys, and told it was March's replacement.

    Third explanation: The box we received was indeed an "extra goodies" box and March's box is on the way. I was then given a tracking number to a label generated on March 18th. No package was ever handed over to FedEx with this label. Upon pointing this out I got the 4th explanation, same one I had heard the previous month. Box left the warehouse and shipping partners lost package or didn't scan. I am extremely familiar with shipping procedures through FedEx, USPS, and UPS. I do not believe for one second that FedEx never scanned a box neither month and lost the boxes both months. C'mon now. It has been blatantly obvious BarkBox reps are not familiar with the company's shipping procedures when asked.

    Once again, at this point I'm waiting on a replacement for the previous month and credited for the next month. To summarize, out of 3 months/3 boxes, I have received 1 box that was received in the month it was supposed to be with the monthly themed items. I have spent hours upon hours of time contacting BarkBox just to receive a box at all each month. This company might have been great in the past, but presently, they are severely lacking and have been hands down the worst subscription service I have ever bought.

    Nothing but issues with this company's follow through, ability to follow direction and inability to be accountable for not sending Paid for and never received March box. Communicated to HQ and told they would send. That was over a week ago and no confirmation one was coming. Contacted HQ and told me wasn't sent. Don't trust!

    Not sure what is going on with the company, but we received the first box and now it has stopped and I received a email stating they have trouble filling the order. Not a reassuring feeling when a company's business is to put dog treats in a box and send it.

    I have been with BarkBox for a year now. At the start everything was going well. But, for March’s box I still have not received it. I contacted BarkBox and they say they are sending out another box but the tracking details always show “Label has been created” and never change for the hat status. I’m about to be charged for another month and I still haven’t received this month's box. I’m thinking about canceling the box because I’m not going to deal with this every month.

    There was a promotion where you can try your 1st box for only $10, but it was only valid for the 6 or 12 months plan. I chose the 6 mo plan. Each box is normally $29 for 1 mo, or $25 for 6 mo. I thought, "Cool! Now is the time to try Barkbox." This promotion is my incentive to try because I thought it's only $10 for the 1st box. If I don't like it, then I can just cancel with no commitment! I soon found out this promotion was just a bait & switch. Any monthly subscriptions I had in the past provide the option to cancel anytime if we are not happy with the service. However, Barkbox has misleading wording during the sign-up, so that you do not know you're locked into the plan. Even the option to "Disable Subscription Autorenewal" on their site is confusing because it made it sound like cancellation was possible, but it only means you can cancel the NEXT plan AFTER your 6 or 12 mo, not your current plan.

    Customer service (CS) said that the promotion is for "people who do love the box so that they can get a discount for signing up for a longer term." Why is this promotion shown to potential customers like me (who don't love the box because we haven't tried it yet), then? Shouldn't it be targeted to current customers via their e-mailing list, then? I was willing to give this box a try at first, but I do not feel comfortable with this dishonest practice. The promotion is just a bait & switch tactic used to lure new customers into a contract. At first, we think it's only $10 to try a box, but we find out later that we're going to be locked in for 6 mo and having to pay $150 total ($25 per box for 6 mo plan) for something we don't know if we'll like.

    CS said, "This is why we have our one month full price option so that you can do a trial if you do not wish to commit." 1). The only incentive for me to even try in the 1st place is because of the promotion of $10 for my 1st box. Otherwise, I wasn't going to sign up at all. I don't want to pay $29 just to try it. 2). I didn't know that the subscription was a binding commitment. I don't want to pay $150 for 6 boxes that I don't know if I'll like. However they word it, I wouldn't have signed up AT ALL if the terms were crystal clear.

    I am still unhappy with their resolution. No matter what, they will not cancel or do any refunds. The most they would do is switch you from the 6 mo to the 1 mo plan, but now I'm stuck paying the full price of $29 for my box. Too bad I didn't read reviews here before I signed up because I see a lot of people feel misled by the same issue too. I actually want to cancel the subscription entirely/return the box before I ever receive the 1st box as I am turned off by this whole experience, but they will not budge. I will only update this review if they offer me a solution I like. Otherwise, this is staying here. Note: The e-mail the customer service left in the reviews isn't real. My email bounced back.

    Overall I was happy with the toys. They are cute and my dog likes most of them. Unfortunately though my dog has a fussy stomach and would not eat the treats so I ended up giving them all away. I emailed to cancel because of this on Nov 18 and was offered a toy only option. Great! Except nothing changed and I waited to see thinking it was the holidays etc. Well come March still nothing so I contacted again. They said they’d send out free toys and would change the subscription. I asked when the change would happen, no response. I never received the free toys.

    So I contacted again today because I couldn’t see my subscription on the app but could through a browser and I couldn’t tell what was going on. Again I was offered a free toy but I declined and asked to cancel anyway. It’s the follow through and what seems to be disorganized customer service that finally did it for me. It’s too bad, they have great products but if you have issues good luck getting it resolved.

    If at any time you are dissatisfied with your subscription or the customer service, you will not be allowed to cancel. No matter if the boxes are delayed by weeks, no matter if they refuse to respond to multiple emails, and then get back to you with canned responses that don't address any of your issues. No matter if they can't provide tracking on a shipment they assure you was sent. "Cancel anytime" is clearly misleading, especially if their service doesn't match what was promised. So this company can neglect their end of the deal with no consequence while customers have to hold up their end no matter what? Absurd. I will never in good conscience be able to support or recommend this company, even if they make it right at this point. Be more transparent about your policies, and let people make an informed decision.

    I had historically purchased a 12 month standard Bark Box for the past year. No Issues and great product, with 24 hour response time. As of January 2019 - I indicated I wanted to RENEW my membership: Here is the recount of what happened: I asked for a 12 month renewal, but wanted to start with Super Chewer THEN DECIDE whether to continue with the standard or with super chewer. They indicated I had to go monthly - which is $10 USD MORE per month despite indicating I wanted to go for the 12 month - first month super chewer, subsequent months superchewer or Bark Box depending on what my pup liked. There is no option to do this within the website.

    I was charged the monthly rate AGAIN within 15 days BEFORE getting my FIRST superchewer box, which was late by 2 days. I spoke to the "Ask Scout" after my online checkout to have NO PORK items, yet the FIRST BOX I received was ALL PORK items. Response time is over 48 hours now - and always someone different just indicating that it is a monthly renewal (when I WANTED YEARLY) rather than addressing my needs. I was very committed for the first year, and right now I am very disappointed with customer service as of 2019. I have tried to communicate with them but it is NOT going anywhere. Do not recommend - the boxes overall are great but there are better subscription service options than THIS.

    I wanted to try BarkBox so I checked the "try 1 month" option thinking I would get 1 month's worth and then if I liked it I could subscribe monthly. I ordered on 3/1 and they took the money out then, the box came very fast. The toys lasted a few hours and my dog had them destroyed so I wasn't going to do another month. I was maybe going to try the Super Chewer box they offer. Well on 3/11 they took out another month's payment. I talked to a "Nancy" on the website who said they cannot refund me my money and I cannot return the BarkBox even though I just received one not even 10 days ago. Due to her lack of customer service skills I will NOT be trying the Super Chew box and I do not recommend BarkBox unless you're looking for cheap dog toys.

    So I saw them on a app and decided to try them out so I did after reading some reviews. Well I should have read the bad ones. I thought I signed up for a month and got my first box box and the toys were horrible cheap and the treats my dog didn’t even like. He’s not a picky eater so when I try to cancel they gave me the runaround and said I was signed up for 12 months. When I try to cancel this they told me sorry I have to pay the monthly fee when I did not sign up for this. Had to reach out to my cc company when I started to read reviews they trick everyone to pay monthly and don’t let you out so you have to pay for crap. Nope. Won’t ever do this again. Will stick with Chewy. Way better and horrible.

    We recently got a new Corgi puppy and I thought by signing up for BarkBox would be a fun way to acquire some new toys and treats. My issues started immediately - when I signed up, BarkBox was offering 10% off the 6 month subscription if you paid the full 6 months up front (I also had a $15 credit perk for my AMEX if I spent over a certain amount in one transaction). When I tried to utilize that selection, I received a strange website error and the transaction completed. I immediately chatted with a support rep who assured me that the full amount went through. Well, as you can guess, no it didn't - they were charging me monthly and I didn't get the 10% off. When I wrote into support, they said I had actually received a better deal because I received a free toy (which is untrue).

    Fast forward to my 2nd monthly BarkBox - I received a notification on Feb 19th that my BarkBox had shipped. When I clicked on the tracking number, it said it would arrive on Feb 22nd (but it had not shipped yet - still in the "Ready to Go" phase with a shipping label). Once Feb 22nd came and went, the estimated arrival date disappeared and the tracking just says "Ready to Go," "Tracking details will be available once the package arrives at the FedEx facility." It is now March 6th and it is *still* in that state.

    I e-mailed support about this issue last week - essentially, they simply checked the tracking number and said "Good news - it has shipped." Well, no it hasn't - it's still in the Ready To Go state. I responded to that e-mail late last week and sent a separate e-mail to BarkBox 3 days ago and have received no response. I also just sat on hold for 10 minutes and no one picked up when I tried to call support. Furthermore, their chat function has been grayed out on their website for 3 days. As someone who runs a support team, it's infuriating how poor and non-responsive their support is.

    Furthermore, the quality of the toys is below average. One of the toys they sent immediately began to shed black fibers all over my house. Plus my dog is not wild about the treats they sent - it seems he would literally rather eat poop out of the cat box than the treats from BarkBox. A final word of caution - although I didn't have this issue as I saw the "automatic renewal" terms and conditions when I signed up - even after you read all of these poor reviews and you *still* decide to sign up - please ensure you cancel your subscription immediately; otherwise, it will renew automatically after 6 months at a higher rate.

    Good luck trying to unsubscribe with this company! Worst customer service I have by far seen ever. I tried unsubscribing to this company two months ago because they have the option online so I wait and sure enough I’m charged for two months after. So I figured cool I can just call them so I call the customer service line, what a joke. The number directs you to Facebook and hangs up on you. So I have messaged them on Facebook, email and text and have received nothing. The sad part is I can’t get my money back unless I call the bank and dispute the charges. I have never been so disappointed in a company ever. Do they even have anyone working in customer service answering questions because it seems like they don’t care about the customer and are there for a payment. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE WITH THIS COMPANY. IT IS A TRAP.

    I have actually been a BarkBox customer for many years with no problems. In February, 2019 I never received the box. I have sent 2 emails, called (just an automated system and not able to leave a message); texted, posted on Facebook. No response. They have now taken the March payment, which I am trying to stop with my bank. I am concerned they have stopped sending out products but are still taking money. The lack of responding to customers is unprofessional and not acceptable.

    My dog and I love the product but OK I am old and stupid. I thought I could try it first before being locked in an ironclad contract for 12 months. I am a disabled 71 year old with fixed income after rent and utilities: $167 to buy food for my dog and me, plus medicine, supplies, whatever. My memory is "challenging". I cannot afford $31.54 per month. I could buy 1 box every 3 months? Product is superb but cost is too much for me. So sorry.

    BarkBox products are poorly advertised and they keep trying to cover up poor customer service with offers to keep people from cancelling. Two months in and have not yet received anything worth $25 per box. They expect me to pay for the next six months for subscription that doesn't hold up to the quality products they advertise. Do not subscribe for more than one month!!! It's a scam. They feel they have you hooked and do not send the nice stuff as probably a one month subscriber or trial pack may falsely represent. Very unsatisfied and they will do nothing about it.

    I’ve had my dog for 3 years now and I have never been able to get him to play with toys. There has been probably 1 or 2 that he liked. (One of those squeaky pigs which are really great and last a decent amount of time) and this other stuffed toy that was destroyed in minutes and he ended up carrying around a shredded rag for 2 months. But I just got my first BarkBox yesterday, and he absolutely LOVES it. He has not let his toys out of sight. Opening the box is so fun also! The themes are completely adorable. And the treats that go with them are so diverse and creative. I’m so excited to get my next box next month!

    The concept is great and the themes were kind of fun. Most of the toys only last a month or two. (My dog’s other toys we have purchased are lasting just fine!) I Signed up for a 6 month program. I now understand from reading the reviews of many other equally unhappy customers, that after the 6 months 1) they auto renew you without any notice. 2) If you try to cancel after that auto renew happens and the price has surprisingly increased (some free toy option that goes away apparently), they refuse. So the toys we were mildly happy with are now priced high enough that we are UNHAPPY, and cannot cancel. My dog does enjoy getting and opening the box, so I guess there is that. But she likes All boxes!

    BarkBox - it would be a great idea to be more clear on your programs, policies, and cancellation restrictions UP FRONT (I find NO INFO about this on your website) as well as price increases. And it would be good business to send a notice prior to renewals so people know they are making a choice to renew or cancel and so they know the new price, before the time passes and you say, “Oh, too late”. This just bad business and a nasty underhanded way to treat customers and has completely changed and tainted my opinion of your company.

    All of our subscriptions (1, 6 or 12-month) do auto-renew. We’re a subscription service and the majority of our customers prefer this so that there is never a lapse in deliveries! We try to make this apparent when signing up as well as in our FAQ page, but absolutely understand this can be missed. In addition, when signing up for a promotion, like the Free Extra Toy Promotion, this only applies to the initial commitment period.

    I signed up for a 6 month subscription. We signed up in December got our BarkBox and then our January box. Now February is where I get upset. I received an email stating my BarkBox shipped on February 15. It is now March 2 and I have still not received my box. I emailed and messaged, called and I still have no box. When I messaged on the Facebook messenger it took hours even days for them to respond to my concerns. I will now be possibly getting billed for my March BarkBox before my February box even arrives. No one has offered to reimburse me for my February box which is beyond late and for the lack of help I have received. If someone could reach out to me from BarkBox and tell me where and when my box will be here I would greatly appreciate it.

    I’ve previously ordered BarkBox for my dogs and was absolutely thrilled with the boxes. I work as a trainer and referred several people to BarkBox for their pups. Our favorite part of the boxes were the rubber fun toys (a camera for a safari theme, a cactus for a western theme, a cassette tape for retro theme etc). We occasionally received soft toys - which I don’t give my dogs, but I happily passed these on and donated them to friends. My life got crazy (and expensive) and I ended up not renewing my plan once it canceled. Fast forward to this January. I was excited to be able to once again subscribe to BarkBox for another year. I spoke to a customer service representative who was very helpful and re enrolled me in my old plan. Yay! Or so I thought...

    Our first BarkBox came and it had treats, a chew and two soft toys. Bummer, but it happens. No big deal. Next month...two more soft toys... Damn! So I emailed customer service and was told “Original BarkBoxes don’t and never have contained rubber toys”... Which is impossible because I literally have 10 rubber toys laying around my house from previous original BarkBoxes. They wouldn’t do anything about the soft toys I had received as far as offering to replace them with more suitable toys. The only option they gave me was to upgrade to the super chewer box for an additional cost monthly. I did upgrade, because now that I’m enrolled in a 12 month cycle I didn’t want 10 more months of completely useless toys...but I will not be renewing in the future. I’m very disappointed, especially after being a previously happy customer.

    We were torn between the multiple dog toy/treat services that were available. We almost went with PuppyBox but decided to go with BarkBox instead and man oh man are we so happy! The toys are made VERY DURABLE and with creative and fun themes. The treats are wonderful for training and just as snacks any time of the day! Customer service is INCREDIBLE! This is one of their biggest selling points with us in a world full of terrible customer service. They have amazing deals and promotions all the time that are incentive enough to choose BarkBox over all others!

    Overpriced and toys fell apart. Was not impressed or satisfied at all. Contacted them and they refused to cancel my last 2 months “subscription” which I did know about. They also did not respond when I asked them if satisfaction is guaranteed or money back. That says it all when a company doesn’t try to make it right.

    When placing the order in December for my grandpup, I entered her breed and weight. I purchased a years subscription based on the recommended box. We received the Christmas box which was cute. The first monthly box in January was very disappointing. The toys and treats were very tiny. The chew sticks were 4" long and thinner than a pencil. This was for an 80 pound pitbull. The plush toys were VERY poor quality and didn't last 15 minutes. I contacted the company and was told replacements would be sent out. We never received anything. I was also told our order would be changed to the super chewer box that was the same price and what we were under the impression I paid for in full in December.

    February box arrives and the treat and chew is more appropriate, but the same tiny plush toys were sent. Again, I attempted to contact the company only to be told in addition to the price already paid, I would need to pay an additional $69.75 to get a better quality item sent. I asked in January if an additional fee would be charged for the change and was told no, but now today there are additional charges. I'm not confident that if I pay them almost $70 more we will ever receive anything more than the very disappointing items we've seen.

    As of now, we only ask for the weight and name of the pup through sign up. The breed is definitely important and we hope to have this option in the future as it would help us tailor those boxes right from the start! It looks like one of our Happy Ambassadors originally put Varona on our More Durable Classic plan. These toys are still plush but come with some tougher squeakers and reinforced stitching. Obviously, this was not the best option for Varona and I am so sorry that we did not assess this from the first time you reached out. That is definitely on us.

    We dug a little deeper in your account and it does appear that those Scouts Honor items were never processed. Again, we take full responsibility for this hiccup and are truly so sorry those items were not sent out. We are going to process those now and they should be leaving our warehouse very soon!

    In addition, it looks like one of our members of leadership has set Verona up on a $29/month, no commitment Super Chewer subscription with the first 2 months absolutely free as an apology for all of the frustration.     So I ordered my first BarkBox in the beginning of February to get my pup a Valentine's Day gift!!! Exciting right! No! When it arrived it was Christmas themed with old Christmas treats and 1 toy. So of course I contact BarkBox a little upset with this mix up. They ensure they're going to fix it and send out another box. I receive it. It's Viking themed with a fake paper Viking hat. I have a dog that chew everything and you give him paper!!! Way to go BarkBox!! So not only did I not get the Valentine's Day box I originally tried to order but I got paper product, 1 chew toy and 2 bags of treats. After this I canceled my membership. This service is terrible and for the amount of money people pay. We should expect a little more.

    It looks like one of our Happy Ambassadors did mistakenly assure you that a Valentine's Day themed box was on the way rather than the new Viking themed box. This is absolutely on us and we are terribly sorry for this. You should have received 2 Super Chewer toys, 2 bags of treats, and 2 chews with this replacement box!

    My roommate ordered a Valentine's day special box and was sweet enough to share the treats with my dog. I like reading the ingredients on everything I feed him, or I make it myself. If you've ever looked into the kind of foods that your dogs can happen you would understand it ingredients such as garlic and onions etcetera are harmful to your dog. While I was reading the ingredients I noticed that BarkBox using some of these ingredients in their dog treats and so I messaged them about it in the response I got was that it was "for flavor" and that they were aware that the ingredient is harmful but assured that because it was in small doses that it wasn't a big deal. What kind of dog food company would intentionally use harmful ingredients in their dog treats?

    Ingredients like garlic are added into treats in order to make them both more palatable to the pup and to mask unfavorable smells for the human. The incredibly small quantity that is present in some treats will not cause any reaction. We never recommend that you use treats as a substitute to food, but rather as small supplements.

    With that being said, we understand that some pup-parents may not feel comfortable giving these types of treats to their pups. For this reason, we have some awesome tailoring options to exclude many different ingredients, including garlic!

    Barkbox seemed like an honest, fun filled company to order toys for my 4 dogs from. I ordered the large Super Chewer option. I received 2 packages of treats and two stuffed toys. I went to cancel, and was assured there had been a mix up, since Super Chewer toys are super tough, and made of nylon or rubber. They would give me some extra toys for free if I stayed. So I said ok. I'd give them A second chance. Mistakes are made, right? So I got my next Super Chewer Barkbox.

    Inside a decrepit, beat up box, were exactly the same two stuffed toys my dog destroyed in minutes last month (this month one came with a broken squeaker), and two bags of treats. No fun new theme, no extra toys, no birthday present for my dog. No fun. Just horrible disappointment. This box cost $50 Canadian, and had a broken small stuffed toy, a small stuffed toy, and two packages of treats. There was no nylon or rubber durable toy. They didn't even spring for the cost of a new box to ship in! The box looked like it was dragged out of the recycling. The website won't let you delete your credit card info or unsubscribe. Avoid these dishonest sharks. If you have been sucked in, change your credit card number. They can't legally charge for items they don't provide.

After digging into your experience, it looks like you, Annie, and your other pups originally signed up with our Classic BarkBox. After reaching out and requesting some tougher toys in January, one of our Happy Ambassadors mistakenly sent out another Classic BarkBox rather than the Super Chewer box. That is absolutely on us and we sincerely apologize for this.

    It looks like we have corrected this mistake by reshipping a Super Chewer BarkBox for January's box! That extra toy will be coming in a separate shipment, so keep an eye out for two boxes. They should be leaving our warehouse very soon.

    In addition, February's Super Chewer BarkBox should be arriving very soon, if it hasn't already! It looks like it arrived at the border on February 21st.

    If you're wondering if it's worth it to get a BarkBox subscription rather than just purchasing toys and treats at the store, I can tell you DEFINITELY YES! The toys and treats are premium quality - there is no way you can get the same at a store for a lower price. The themes are adorable and witty. My older dog acts like a puppy when she sees her BarkBox, and my young German Shepherd was thrilled to receive her first Super Chewer box last week. As much as we love the toys and treats, the best thing about BarkBox is the company itself. They GET dogs and understand their different personalities. The staff goes out of their way to make sure each box is just right for your dog. They even customized my dog's subscription based on her quirks at no extra charge. Absolutely love everything about this company.

    Never give a business access to withdraw monthly funds from your bank account. You will always get charged and recharged for bogus miscellaneous charges with the hope you won't figure it out. It never works out for the customer especially with online services.

    I ordered BarkBox over Christmas holiday to see what it was all about. As a veterinarian, my clients frequently ask me questions about many products and I like to have tried them to give my opinion. I have a strong chewer, so ordered that particular product. Apparently I set up a 6 month account, unfortunately. The toys were ok for the most part, except the ones that included ropes/handles. Heavy chewers go through ropes/handles like butter and then those items may end up in the intestine, so I never allowed my dog to chew those toys. Also I don't need the games that appear to be for children included and less treats would also be better.

    I felt after the first box, I would cancel due to the contents not meeting my needs. Apparently I am "committed" and not allowed to cancel until I have paid for my 6 months. There is no way to get out of it according to their spokesperson. Canceling my credit card may work if they can't charge it. I have requested to speak with people who can help me, but that is not allowed. So I am letting my veterinary clients know my opinion of this product loud and clear, this company doesn't have the customer service necessary for my endorsement.

    We just got our box and it smelled strongly like cigarette smoke. I'm highly sensitive to the smell so I had to bag everything up and remove it from my home. I reached out to BarkBox to let them know, in case it was on their end and not the carrier. Their customer service was amazing and they offered to replace the box free of charge. I appreciate their efforts to keep their customers happy, even if the circumstances are out of their control.

    I subscribed last year. After a year, I figured the dogs had enough toys. Lo and behold, I find my BarkBox went up from $20 bucks to 29 bucks. No warning. Nothing. I sent an email and asked to cancel my subscription and was told, I will still have to receive and pay for BarkBoxes until January 2020. Don’t throw your money away. The treats hardly have anything in the bag and the toys are not something you can’t find at the Dollar Tree.

    Loved this idea for my furry pets. For Christmas saw an advertisement online that said “cancel anytime.” Thought to myself, great I can cancel anytime if my girls don’t like it. Well, my girls couldn’t digest the treats, gave them diarrhea and we can’t have that! They have to stick to their regular dog treats we buy at Costco and Chewy.com. I canceled in January and to my shock was charged again for another box in February. Contacted BarkBox and they say I committed to a 12 month plan.

    Nowhere when signing up did it say you’re locked in and committed for 12 months regardless if you cancel. Cancel anytime means Cancel it all in my mind. That’s very shady and sneaky the way this was presented. I canceled my payments and recommend Barkbox make their advertising clear that “cancel anytime” means you’re only canceling the membership and not the service. I won’t be renewing and they lost a customer who will be telling everyone how shady their sign up is! Shame on Barkbox! All about the buck and not the customers' happiness. Woof that!

This is a more clear explanation of our cancellation process, which stops the autorenewal at the end of the discounted multi-month plan you sign up for :)

    When going through the sign-up process, we do have the option to sign up for a 1-month, no commitment plan and try our best to make the commitment clear from sign up.     I have a delightful labradoodle who happens to love to chew. I researched the net trying to find items that would provide some variety and satisfy her need to chew. I took a leap of faith with BarkBox as they advertise they have a box just for chewy dogs. It contains two plastic toys, two bags of dog treats and one chewy eatable thing. In three boxes, my dog is not interested in any of the toys which are different versions of the same type of toys. The treats are uninteresting and have nothing to do with a “chewy dog’s” needs. The eatable chewy gets chewed up within minutes.

    I complained after the first box, and they sent me another box with the same kind of contents. I complained again and cancelled any renewal of the subscription. The 4th box is now on the way and in my “chat”, I am offered pigs ears which may be more in line with my dog’s level of chewiness but why was I not offered this before? And they still want to send me their chews and treats that I keep saying do not fit my dog’s needs. I just want out of the subscription. I find the fact that everything is done in an online chat and the responses absolutely do not pay attention to what my dog’s needs are frustrating and bad customer service. I would not recommend this company to anyone. You can buy everything they send in their box in a local store —-they have nothing noble and do not seem to know what “chewy” means.

    I have been a loyal customer to BarkBox for over a year now and very happy. But recently extremely disappointed in the customer service I received when trying to order a specific toy shown through social media. I contacted BarkBox and specifically asked for this toy and was told I needed to order their Valentine's Day box to get it. Because I knew my baby would love this toy, I decided to buy the Box on top of my monthly subscription. When I received my Valentine's Day box I was saddened to see the specific toy I asked for, and was told it would be there by customer service, I wasn't there.

    Then after contacting customer service only to get nowhere and yelled at (through text) by their customer service agent! She was very rude and her manager was no help either, told me I should have known that tennis balls are made for medium size dogs! Now... This toy was nowhere on the website... How am I suppose to know the size it's for... I'm sadden by this. Definitely not customer service that you want to go through. Honestly I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to be a customer. At the end I feel scammed!

    I signed up for the 6 month subscription with BarkBox on the 15th of January, here we are the 12th of Feb and still no box. Anytime I try to contact the company, I am told if it's not in within 4-10 business days to contact them, which I have been doing?? I then get charged again on the 2nd of Feb again (even though I am told I should be getting charged on the 15th of every month). Charged for 2 boxes within 1 month and haven't received anything. Can't seem to get any answers from anyone with customer service. I was very excited about this subscription and I am beyond dissatisfied and will be cancelling and looking elsewhere. Less than horrible experience so far and I will be steering everyone away from this!!!

It does look like that box did reach the border on January 27th. It definitely should have arrived by now. We are going to go ahead and reship a new box for Chevy!     Regarding our billing date. We bill on the 3rd of each month and ship out our boxes on the 15th of the month! We do this for two reasons. First, because we are a subscription service, sometimes people can forget about the box coming and the billing on the 3rd serves as a reminder in case any changes to the address or box assortment need to be made, we will still have time for that! Secondly, we want to have enough time to pack up all of the many pups' boxes!

    Chevy's February box should be shipping out around the 15th of the month and will arrive within 4-12 business days from that shipping date! You will receive a shipping email once it leaves our warehouse :)

    First of all, when I call the company I can’t speak to anyone live as their phones send you a text message to chat with them via Facebook Messenger. Ordered a $30 box to try it out, and the following day I noticed $29 was removed from my payment account! Wait, what? Now I have to fight with the banking institution in addition to BarkBox as they do not take care of human customers! My dog only liked one item from the box, so I sent a message to BarkBox to cancel. But I’m still being billed? They have high pressure sales chatting why you cancelled and how to save you as a customer, but it’s worse than a timeshare sales pitch! I’d never order from or try out this business as it offers the worst customer service experience!

It looks like you and Daisy signed up for a 1-month plan on January 22nd and then cancelled on February 6th. All of our plans renew on the 3rd of the month, so when you cancelled it stopped your next renewal in March. We are so sorry that this caught you off guard.     BarkBox products are good. My dog loves em! Wish I could say the same for the people behind the product. I bought a BarkBox for my pup over thanksgiving which was a 3-month promotion. To my surprise, I was charged recently for I don't know what but it was $86. I did not even know I had an account! The customer service rep had to tell me the email address listed on my account. (BTW, I waited 30 minutes before someone even spoke to me). I did not receive any message to confirm this transaction. I pleaded with them to refund the account (times are hard) but they still took $30. I asked why? The lady said it's because they can't stop products that are in transit. I checked my account which had NO transaction number and NO estimated time of arrival because they don't ship until the 15th. This meant they just want money. There was someone who mentioned CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT? I'm in!

    DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS SUBSCRIPTION. It is a scam. They draw you in with a $5 first box and even when you cancel your subscription, they proceed to charge you $30 every month. It's impossible to talk to a real person to get this problem fixed, as they only provide you with a texting number and a Facebook Messenger link to communicate. All responses on these are automated and are not real humans talking to you. It is practically impossible to get your money back and remove your credit card number from their database.     Last December I signed up for a 3 or sixth month subscription, I can’t remember, but it was no way clear it would be renewed without my approval and it said I could cancel anytime. Well after that I kept getting billed and sent BarkBox 8 months later. When I originally signed up, I only wanted it for that time period because I had a growing puppy. I’m tempted to file class action suit for fraud and misrepresentation after seeing I’m not the only one by far that’s affected. At the very least the attorney general.

    After a change in financial status, I needed to cancel my service. I made several attempts to contact BarkBox about cancelling my service. After 3 days of trying, I finally got someone on the phone. I was told that by cancelling, I was only stopping the auto renewal and that they would continue to charge me for 12 months. I was escalated up the chain 3 times to 3 different levels of service, all were poor and all told me that they would keep charging me. I got cookie cutter responses that were obviously being read off a script. Finally I was told that the best they could do was cancel after two more months of charges. That is a total of 4 months worth of charges I cannot afford and products I do not want. I am only putting 1 star because it wouldn't let me leave the stars blank.

    I had Cancelled my subscription and was charged again the next month. The treats were great but the toys fell apart immediately even though I had requested sturdy rubber toys that wasn't what I received. I spoke with someone on a Sunday regarding getting charged again. I was told I could go no commitment and then cancel. The next morning I was charged for another box. Very frustrated!

    I have to say, I used to get subscription boxes for myself but I stopped and got this one for my pup instead. When that brown box is delivered, my dog always knows - he jumps, play bows, runs around in circles, bops it with his nose, just generally gets extremely excited! Did I mention he's 65lbs? HAHAHA. It's like he's a puppy again! His dad and I open the lid but he goes through it like a maniac after that. He tries out all the toys then demands each treat. He seems to adore the squirrel character toys. He destroys other pretty quickly but keeps the squirrels for soft play! I am so glad I got this box for him.     Our dog Winnie is a senior Jack Russell mix, rescued a few years ago. We tend to spoil him since we feel he did not have a good past living arrangement and ended up in a shelter for some time. Since he now lives with us, I tend to spoil him. I do not think Winnie was ever offered toys to entertain him. He likes chews and his treats. I was introduced to BarkBox by my dtr and decided to give it a try.

    Winnie received his first box this week. He showed interest in the unopened box once I put it on the floor, not sure if he could smell the contents. Upon opening we removed the 3 toys and 2 treat bags and one chew. He immediately showed interest in chew. The toys I had originally indicated dog size as Medium but tended to be too big in size. I emailed customer service telling them the toys appeared too big for Winnie. She agreed that A Jack Russell would probably enjoy a smaller toys and offered to change Winnie’s future boxes to small dog size and to my surprise said she was sending Winnie a replacement in a smaller size and his future boxes would be in the small dog size. I was blown away at how BarkBox guarantees making our pets satisfied every month. Looking forward to his next box in February. Thank you BarkBox for making Winnie feel special.

    I had to say goodbye recently to my beloved 16-year-old Rosie, leaving me with a broken heart and so much empty space in my life.     I would say, yes, I recommend (and have) the Bark Box to friends and family and anyone thinking about utilizing his service. I have a 5 pound and a 64 pound dog and they both adore the boxes. I have even contacted them when the dogs did not play with one of the toys and was sent a replacement! The customer service is great and now I don’t have to buy treats and even have extra to give if I need a “dog present” so the is extremely worth the price each month. Oh, and the creativity that goes into the boxes is astounding! The toys and treats are themed and I’ve even received bandanas costumes for my pets. It’s quite adorable.

    Our experience started out well. They customized our box to receive no treats as the treats made the dogs sick. Beware. Box originally came with 2 treat bags, 2 toys and a chew. We were also in the extra toy club which cost extra that was 6 items. We were receiving 5 toys per month. We have had issues with toy quality and toy size, which at the beginning were remedied quickly and kindly. Now toward the end of our subscription we receive 4 toys per month and poor service. Company claims 4 toys is equal to 3 toys, 2 bags of treats and chew? Not willing to send 2 missing toys to keep 2 subscribers. I will be cancelling my service and looking at other options as it seems like their customer service team is not what it used to be. Just got a sorry for any confusion. Confusion? I've been a subscriber for a year, there was no confusion just disappointment.

    We started out with a box that my son sent the girls as a hurricane preparedness box when Hurricane Florence was due to come in. It was an awesome idea for 2 dogs that were going to be housebound because of all the rain. We got the box and within the first half hour of supervised play the squeaker was done in the first toy. I do not allow them to chew on or destroy any toys so this was simple squeaking being done with the toy and playing a little fetch with her etc. There was no harsh play period.

    I bought a subscription to benefit a local rescue and unfortunately this has happened every month with at least one toy and most often the second toys squeaker is done within a day or two later. None of the material on the outside is torn however you can hear the squeaker rattle around inside the toys. POOR QUALITY SQUEAKERS! The ones that have the small squeak in them are crushed inside after a few play sessions of squeaking. I have brought this up to them in emails and they have sent the exact same toy replacements and mentioned sending them the more expensive box (me paying the difference) for power chewers. They are not power chewers.

    The K-9 tuff squeak toys last just fine. They are NOT allowed to chew on these toys. They have Nylabone Souper Bones for that purpose. We just like the idea of these boxes because the girls love getting something in the mail. When the squeak is gone, she still keeps trying to squeak them and is very disappointed. I have asked several times to cancel my subscription and they detour it every time and send another toy that doesn't last again. They do not have quality squeak toys period.

    I thought this was a great concept and ordered it for my Goldendoodle for Christmas! I could not order through the website because I have Internet Explorer which I apparently, is not compatible with this site and called to place my order. I was talked into a six-month supply and was never told I couldn’t cancel. I never thought I would cancel; However, my dog did not pay any attention to the toys and had issues with digesting the treats. This company will not let a dissatisfied customer out of the 6-month commitment I didn’t even know I made. That was not communicated to me. They now want to “tailor the box” with treats and toys he might like. It’s how this was portrayed that leaves a bad impression. Based on my experience, I would never recommend this business. You shouldn’t force consumers to continue to do business with you if they are not satisfied. It’s not about the money here. It’s about the fact that my dog didn’t like anything they are sending.

    Updated on 01/15/2019: Hey BarkBox, did that follow-up with your service representative and as expected, you guys just reassured me of my charges to continue until my subscription service ends at the end of March. No, this is not a fix. That was the last patience I had with your service. I exited the chat immediately and will warn everyone I know about this service and how it treats innocent buyers. Ridiculous how they try to trap you in subscriptions you unknowingly entered. How disgusting.

    Original Review: I've literally never had the worst service that seemed so strangely upbeat and friendly while frustrating the heck out of me at the same time! Also, when I tried to get a transcript of the conversation, the messenger lies and says it was sent to my email and had not. I did a partnership offer promoted to me through Swagbucks (a service that allows you to earn points for gift cards) and was told I old had to spend $22 to receive $40 worth of points. Only $22. ONLY 22 DOLLARS. I somehow was locked into a 6-12 monthly auto-renewing subscription for stupid dog boxes and I couldn't be any angrier.

    NO FINE PRINT stating such as I was repeatedly told by an upbeat annoying customer representative that countlessly kept asking me about my dog and happy she'd be by me shoving another box in her fluffy face to get her tail wagging another month with BARKBOX'S GOODIES THAT ARE EXPENSIVE AND PUTTING ME INTO FINANCIAL DEBT. Am I being dramatic? Well I tried canceling to avoid this nonsense and you know they said to me that I agreed to a commitment and therefore they will keep charging me? I don't care if you shortened it from 6-12 months to 3?? Like STOP CHARGING ME.

    Turned auto-renew off on my subscription and sent an email to see about canceling my remaining two boxes due to financial reasons. At first, they offered discounted boxes and other subscription options not listed on their site (like month-to-month or bi-monthly, both at a reduced rate). I said it still wouldn't work and then received an email stating (IN BOLD) I needed to keep my commitment; I would still be billed at the higher monthly rate of the original subscription but could donate the boxes if I didn't want to receive them. Which defeats the purpose!

    I get that I signed up for a year, but it's just plain poor customer service to not have an avenue for people to get out of it for legitimate reasons. To top that off, my dog hates the bagged treats (which just end up in the trash) and only plays with a couple balls she received many boxes ago - the rest of the toys she could care less about. I don't recommend this subscription until they figure out a better structure and more flexible options for customers!

    I ordered the special Christmas BarkBox for my dog as I do every Christmas. The BarkBox I received had nothing to do with Christmas and was not the BarkBox I ordered in early December. I contacted Customer Service and was told they would credit my account so I could purchase a “Christmas item.” There were no items for my dog’s small size. I wrote again telling them this and that I don’t want any item that is too large for my dog and I requested a refund for the incorrect BarkBox sent to me. I then received an email stating a new BarkBox would be delivered to me. Of course, I expected to receive the correct BarkBox I had already ordered.

    Today I received an email stating BarkBox is charging me ONCE AGAIN $31.34 instead of crediting me that amount. At this point I do not want to engage in any business with Barkbox. I have requested a credit of BOTH the charges made to me totaling $62.68. I have not received any reply. Please BEWARE of this company. Do not give them any credit, debit or PayPal information. This is a scam.

    I had seen ads and thought Bark Box might be good for my dogs. Ordered a Chewer box and it was 100% not good or right for them. Grinch themed, easy to destroy, and I gave it away. I cancelled via email. Oh wait, here comes another box. Give it away and think maybe they are behind. Fine. This morning, I see a notice for a 3rd box, so I contact customer service chat this time and they appear to avoid cancelling no matter what. They are trained in denial and redirect. Get through two people and use the term "cancel" at least 12 times. Nothing works. Finally, they tell me I cannot cancel and they are sorry I did not read the terms. Regardless, if I don't like a product from the first box, they should have let me go as I cancelled immediately. Instead, I am a hostage. Terrible. Terrible business model. No other subscription does this model, save for ProActive 10 years ago.

    First off, let me say that BarkBox' items are excellent. My 15 year old asked if he could get a 6 month subscription for our dog (after we had purchased for several months and liked their products) and I said yes. Little did either of us know that he had signed us up for a commitment that self-renewed and that apparently you cannot get out of without canceling in advance - which is a little difficult if you had no idea that you were being obligated to a self-renewing term.

    I wrote to ask for a cancellation and they offered a nice month to month option which I would have accepted (it required no self-renewing commitment) but almost the last line of the email said I was however stuck with the 6 month renewal first. I wrote back - and they did not. They can be as cute as they want in their emails, but my doggie isn't paying $150 for a 6 month subscription - I am! And, we're being penalized for having signed up for six months, because apparently if we had only signed up for 3 months, it would have only self-renewed for 3 months. What a way to treat good customers! What a thank you for almost a year's worth of business!

    I have no intention of accepting the next box they send, and I have disputed the payment - so rather than simply canceling my order, and keeping a happy customer under a different plan, they will now apparently be sending out a box that I will reject and will get sent back to them (wasting their time and resources and mine), and whereas I used to encourage my friends and relatives to buy from BarkBox, I now will not do so - rather the opposite - I will talk about how all they really care about is grabbing money from their customers, not resolving legitimate problems.

    I've had my BarkBox subscription for more than a year now and my dog, Peter, cannot get enough of it! He gets excited every time I bring the box in after delivery. I like how each box has a different theme and everything in the box relates to whatever the theme is for that month.     I would give 5 stars for the regular BarkBox. The toys are amazing as are the treats. The super chewer box I would give 1 star. Not enough variety of toys. My dog does not like rubber chew toys except the treat dispenser and my son’s dog chews up rubber toys like tissue paper. I wouldn’t be surprised if he could chew thru a Buick. So I canceled my subscription because the super chewer toys did not meet our needs.

    Many months both toys were rubber. When I called for a replacement because the rubber toy was destroyed in matter of minutes the replacement toy was another rubber toy. If the super chewer box could be customized by what toys do not last I would consider getting another subscription. As it stands now I am looking at getting a Bullymake subscription as they mix up the toys in each month and mix up each box with different type of toys. I changed the last box in my subscription from a super chewer 50 pound dog to a regular box for a 20 pound dog to give to my Shih Tzu. And even that box the toys were wrong and were too big for a small dog. I hated having to cancel as my dogs love the treats and my lab loved getting toys but I need toys more than treats and if the toys are not appropriate for her it doesn’t do me any good.

    Rosie LOVES squeaky toys. She walks around the apartment squeaking them, or sits on the bed squeaking them. The toys you are sending are the right size for her. Those that are too big for her to carry get destuffed and she then carries around the unstuffed toy.     Both of my Golden’s absolutely adore BarkBox. They love getting new treats every month. The only thing I would change is if owners could have more customization of their box.     I am coming to the end of my 2nd 6-month term and I am sad to say that it will be my last because I believe that the stuffed toys are not being made to last. My dog tears them up within 2-3 weeks of receiving them. So I am disappointed and would rather go to Walmart and buy them toys which will not cost as much for them to be torn up. Also I purchase for LARGE dogs and some of the treats I get are for small dogs and just are not good for large dogs. So I am very DISAPPOINTED and will not be returning and will not recommend your services to my family and friends.

    On the bright side the only thing my babies like is tearing the box open when it comes in the mail. I live on a disability salary and it is an expensive treat for my babies but I thought for the Love and Protection they give me I was willing to overlook the price.     I used BarkBox for 6 months. When I tried to cancel it they would not. They said I have to continue paying for the rest of the year. All I got were sappy responses telling me that I am out of luck and there is no way they can cancel it. It's as easy as don't send the box out and don't charge my card. I had to call my credit card company to deny charges form BarkBox as the company themselves would not do it. Would not recommend to anyone.

    I love getting a BarkBox every month. It is like a present for both my dog Daphne and myself. Most of the items I have never seen in stores before. We started out with the Super Chewer box. I have an old English bulldog who is getting pretty old. I noticed that the toys were too tough for her aging teeth and she wasn't playing with them much. I contacted BarkBox and they changed my subscription to the super chewer plush option. What a difference. She loves playing with them so much and sleeps with the toys at night.     I’m writing this review in hopes of helping and possibly saving someone else’s pet from a horrific event that mine has suffered. I recently purchased a BarkBox for large breed super chewer for Christmas. I have two Siberian Huskies, one is 4, one is 2. The younger boy loves treats and was so excited to eat some of the duck flavored jerky treats sent with the box. The older girl wanted nothing to do with the treats, just the toys, she ate none. Both dogs acted normal on Christmas. The next day my younger dog started having bloody diarrhea and vomiting. He ate nothing this day and progressed so bad we brought him to emergency vet at night.

    They charged us a hefty fee and sent us home with meds to monitor. I stayed with him all night as he had pools of blood coming out of him and vomiting every hour with no sleep. He did not eat or drink anything and could not keep anything down. I called vet several times until I brought him back in at 7 am today. They told me he is seriously ill and needed to be admitted with 24/7 care, meds, IV fluids. I am now close to $3000 in vet bills and severely emotionally distressed with little idea of my dog's prognosis at this point. I will be in contact with a lawyer in hopes of some sort of compensation for all of the damages.

    Sent in for the double BarkBox upgrade in November. BarkBox was undeliverable due to damage. Waited a week and then eventually had to contact BarkBox for them to resend it. So I emailed the customer service rep asking for the tracking number of the boxes because I hadn’t recieved the one. Never got a response. Emailed again a week later. Still nothing. Then two weeks after that I finally get an email saying “our tracking info says this package was delivered, is this not correct.” I said no, obviously. And now it’s been about another week and I haven’t heard anything back from that rep either. All I want is a refund and to cancel my subscription at this point. I’ve absolutely had it.

    Love, love the cute stories and graphics in each box. Love the way the stuffed animals fit the story. At our house my lab chews the stuff animals to find the squeaky and then pulls out all the stuffing. He destroys them in minutes and I pick up stuffing for an hour.     I had reservations at first about buying a monthly subscription for dog toys. The first box came, and Wookie the Golden Retriever was so excited about his new toys and treats. He always goes crazy when I walk in the door with the box. I don't know if he smells the toys and treats or just recognizes the box, but he knows when it is a BarkBox.

    What I liked about it after a few months, I was no longer buying quick impulse dog treats and toys at the grocery and other stores. These usually didn't last long, were not healthy, and were overpriced. Because Wookie likes to destroy plush toys instantly. I went with the Super Chewer option for the first 6 months. The toys were very durable, and he liked most of them. I noticed that he was missing the plush toys and some of the harder chew toys were not always played with, because he had some obvious favorites.

    After taking a follow up survey, one of their representatives reached out to me and offered to go with a middle grade option that had tougher plush toys. These have been a hit with him and he loves these toys. The treats are always really good, they have strong smell and seem fresh and healthy. Wookie will do any and all of his tricks to get the treats. He always likes the treats. Lastly, their customer service has been great. They care about my issues and worked to make it the best experience.

    BarkBox has been nothing but great. The few suggestions I had for them (when they asked in a survey) they quickly tried to fix and make us happy customers (e.g) tougher toys, they now send us the toughest for that month's box. Super chewer is an option but our dogs like the plush toys way better than the hard rubber ones. It has been working a lot better. It is our dogs' favorite time of the month.
