I ordered bamboo hearts to be delivered for Valentine’s Day. I received an email on February 10 that my order had been shipped. Over the next few days I received tracking updates and on February 13 I received a notice that my order arrived at my local UPS. On February 14 I received an notice that at 4:53 am my order went out for delivery.

On Valentines Day the high temperature was 28 degrees. My order arrived at 8:30 pm. It came in a box that was ice cold. By Sunday February 16. The bamboo hearts were yellow and turning brown. I contacted ProFlowers Customer service and was given the option for a refund or re-delivery. I chose to have a re-delivery on March 10. I was assured it would be delivered on the 10th. The 10th came and went with no delivery. I have attempted to contact them several times and I get no response. I will never use ProFlowers.com again! And unfortunately after contacting Consumer Affairs it looks as though I am just one of hundreds who have experienced the same horrible customer service.

I totally understand that flowers are seasonal And location dependent. However, when ordering a "Special event" arrangement and Roses end up being Carnations that seems less than appropriate. At this point you are probably wondering why the high Marks. Well, the company made it right, it seems that a "local contractor" was responsible for the mess, new flowers were out the same day without charge and I was reimbursed for the original order. I've used them several other times without incidence so I would recommend.

Wanted something special for a family friends daughter who was in the hospital. I was able to order by color occasion and age appropriate. The mother was so appreciative and loved it. For the first delivery I was even able to get a discount and it didn’t matter how much I spent. They also have such nice vases so the mother said she liked how it could go from the hospital room to the living room.

My husband sent me a dozen white stem roses -with Teddy Beast and Chocolates. It was stunning - that was Friday February 14th. By Sunday morning they were wilting. Monday, pretty much gone. I contacted customer service and they said they would replace the bouquet & when and where would I like it delivered. “Wow I was impressed”. -until Monday morning I get a call - did I receive my order (this was from Suepple Floral Shop. I said "yes I did", and before I could explain that was not the issue - whether or not received floral arrangement- he abruptly hung up. So how this was confused with my email to Pro Flowers is beyond me.

I resent my email telling them I got a call from the floral shop they used for my order - I get two emails back. One saying exact same thing - that they would resend my order. Then I get a second one saying they only replace within three days. I did like I said earlier report this actually in two days. I think they give you the run around sending generic emails just to pacify you until guarantee runs out. Will not ever order from them or the floral company locally they used. What a waste of $130.00 plus dollars!!!

I ordered a floral arrangement for my boyfriend's mother for Valentine's Day. They arrived on time, as promised, however the flowers were all wilted and mostly dead when she received them. I communicated this to ProFlowers, and they immediately apologized and promised a replacement arrangement. The arrangement never came. After two more communication attempts asking where the flowers were and when we could expect the delivery to arrive, they responded with "the flowers you requested are no longer available" stating that an alternate arrangement would be sent in its place. That was quickly followed up with me receiving a voicemail while I was at work, to call their customer service number.

When I did I was informed that a refund had been processed on my order. I appreciate the refund, but it was a long period of disappointment and waiting that could have been avoided had they just refunded my money from the get-go. ANYTHING would have been better than the flowers she received. Grocery store flowers are prettier than the ones they sent her. And it was a long waiting game to get an end result from them.

I ordered 2 dozen roses, a teddy bear and a heart balloon for Valentine Day 2020 and had them delivered to my girlfriend at work. The majority of the flowers were dead and some looked like they had been dead a while. The only conclusion I could come up with is they were packaged prior to Valentine’s Day and died in the packaging, I don’t think anyone would ship flowers in this condition. If you found flowers thrown out in a garbage can they would probably look better than what was delivered. Maybe it was just a bad day because they were busy but I would never use them again. You have been warned, I’m still hearing it from my girlfriend, lol. Good luck all.

I ordered flowers from ProFlowers at Valentines day. They were supposed to be delivered on Friday the 14th, however, after not hearing anything about delivery all day, when I came home, my neighbor who works the night shift said she saw a delivery the night of the 13th (which I was not notified of), and the box was on my porch all night. It was 13 deg. She got the box for me the next day (she didn't know they were flowers), but when I opened the box, the flowers were already dead. I contacted Proflowers and a few days later they got back to me and said they would replace the flowers. That was on 2/17, I haven't heard anything from them since, and I've replied to the email several times. Nothing. Can you imagine giving your wife dead flowers on Valentines Day? I will never order from them again.

As the day wore on, UPS status was that they had never received the package from the shipper. Proflowers blamed their distributor and offered a "special floral arrangement" as compensation. They promised the arrangement would be delivered on the following Wednesday. Wednesday comes and goes, no arrangement. I contacted them via email and the called me. The offer was now to deliver the original flowers, now 8 days late. An online florist only has one job, delivering the flowers they promise when they promise. Proflowers seems incapable of delivering any flowers on any date.

No further contact nor communication with the florist or company. In short, fraudulent behaviour. I tried calling company and got the voicemail.

I had to email the company twice before any response - they responded on 17 February! They offered to send the flowers or a refund. So my husband ordered a dozen red roses from Proflowers for Valentine's Day. When they arrived, they were slightly open but well packaged. We followed directions and I looked forward to seeing them open and look beautiful. The 2nd day several looked good. The 3rd day, 6 looked great and 2 were drooping badly. We decided to re-trim, add water and plant food again to see if 6 would perk back up. Day 4, I tossed 6 flowers. A big disappointment! On day 3, I noticed Proflowers had a guarantee for 7 days. I called customer service and could barely understand the representative's English. We slowly got through the conversation and I requested a replacement. She agreed and I was to get my red rose flowers the following day.

Day 4 no new flower delivery. I called again that afternoon and Proflowers told me package was still coming that day. After 5pm, I called Proflowers and stated I never got the delivery. I was told there was no order. How did that happen?!? She said she would order them for me but then told me there were no red roses available in my area! What?!? Proflowers didn't have red roses?? I looked on their website and saw I could order red roses. I'm totally confused. What is happening here?!? After a total of many hours with Proflowers, they did give my husband a refund. I told my husband never to return to Proflowers after that painful flower experience. Next time, I'll recommend my husband go to our local Publix for red roses. LOL.

Now that may be due to season, but still. I also had to call the recipient to see if they had received it. They just left it on the porch without ringing the doorbell. I was supposed to get an email to tell me it was deliver led which I did not receive until a half hour after the last delivery time. So who knows how long it was sitting out there. Also I have tried to send an email to the company, but they only allow a certain number of characters in the messages and I apparently have too much to complain about to fit it all in. On Wednesday of the following week, I received an email from ProFlowers telling me the flowers were delivered.

I now have emails from ProFlowers telling me the flowers were delivered on the Tuesday they were supposed to be delivered and again on Wednesday, 8 days later. I ordered flowers on Wednesday, Feb. 12th for Valentine's Day for my girlfriend, to be delivered at her work. The order cost $81.44 with shipping due to the Holiday, which is understandable. It would be worth every penny for the flowers to be delivered at her work... On Valentines Day. They gave me a tracking number and status that a label had already been created on Thursday, all seems well. Friday at work I was very busy and as the day sped by, it wasn't until 2 or 3pm when I checked the tracking number again, as I had not heard from her yet about the flowers. They had not even shipped yet. As I noticed a few people she works with post pictures or quick videos on social media of the flowers they received throughout the day, I began to worry. Lo and behold the flowers were never delivered. I buy flowers later in the day and bring them home to her at 9pm when my day is over.

Saturday comes and not only could I not get through to the customer service to speak to anyone but had not even received a response email about the failure of the flowers being sent. I finally received an email Sunday about a problem with delivery or shipping and was offered a $15 coupon for future use and a hand picked delivery on Feb 19th if I would like.

I called today to speak to someone and the person I spoke to on the phone was very short with me when I said all I would like is a refund and confirmation of the refund in an email. This person kept saying I would have the email and the refund would be processed but didn't know when. I still have yet to receive an email and remain aggravated by this terrible experience. It may seem trivial and while I understand errors happen in life, it should have been addressed better. $82 is a lot of money just for flowers and it was more about the thought of them being delivered that is the point. The lack of followup and customer service while they still have my money at this point, a whole week later is unacceptable.

Very upset 7 year old daughter. I ordered dozen roses and sweet surprise for my wife and daughter. I was pretty excited since was first year I was ordering my daughter her own order of flowers. I have to share this because some companies really are scam artists especially on the actual holiday. Website says plain as day they were able to deliver on Valentine's Day, in fact it says guaranteed by a certain time. It was a surprise. Well at least for a little bit. I eventually had to tell my wife since it was 9 pm and I hadn't recieved them nor did I receive any communication of any sort. I wrote an email Valentine's night, To the customer service explaining that I did not receive them and would like to cancel my order and receive a full refund.

The next morning I wrote another e-mail just to be sure. I received 2 emails that's 8 o'clock a.m. notifying me that my orders were not going to be arriving. Haha go figure letting me know the next night. The funny thing is is that the e-mail Stated that they try to attempt to contact me by phone and were not successful which was a bold face lie especially when I can go back on the E mail order confirmation page and see that my number in fact was correct originally. I tried to call numerous times and got put on hold. I just wanted a simple refund because the whole point was for them to receive the flowers on the actual day. That is what I paid for and that is what they charged me for an email confirmation and website confirming and promising a guaranteed delivery date.

About 3:30 p.m. February 15th yesterday I received the roses for my wife and nothing for my daughter. I asked for a full refund 3 or 4 times via email in which they replied and asked me what to do with the order if I would accept a later delivery date in which I replied no. They sent my roses anyway and left my daughter with nothing. I tried to explain to my daughter but as you know little girls are precious and tender hearted. So I was left trying to fill a void that I did not create. All they had to do was reach out and ask me for a significant or partial refund or reach out and apologize and I probably would have taken it. I don't typically leave reviews but I mean this was such a 1/2 ** effort in order to save a buck and save their ** that it just leaves me very frustrated, even 2 days later.

Also, 5 years ago I had a similar problem with just my wife's order. I don't understand that if you don't receive anything the way you ordered it as stated guaranteed on their website and order confirmation email why they can't simply just give me my money back instead I get half of my order 1/2 the credit.. I don't believe in getting anything for free. That's not how I work. I just want people to be held accountable and if you can't make a delivery date you should state so on the day instead of letting everybody order and ripping people off and having some sort of half ** explanation emails the next day hoping that nobody will ask for their money back and making quick bucks. Hopefully anybody that reads this won't have the experience that I did and don't have to explain to their 7 year old daughter why they did not receive their special surprise. I'll forgive but I'll never forget. Please just make it right. That's all we ask for.

He said “Not possible. It will be Monday.” So, we’ll see. Very poor customer service. These were ordered 3 days in advance. They still can’t get it right! So disappointed.

I ordered flowers for my mother for Valentine's. Paid extra for them to be there on Valentine's and they never showed so I called the night of and ended up getting refunded, the next day which is today I got the refund and they took it back right after. Their customer service was not helpful and very rude. They would not lemme talk to a supervisor. The girl just said the supervisor was busy and kept trying to tell me I got my refund, and then tried telling me they gave it to me while on the phone and I checked my account while on phone and it wasn't there, I was on phone a hour until they hung up on me. I dunno what can be done about these people but it needs to happen and I'm more than happy to help in any way. I told them it was theft to take my money and not give me merchandise or a service, so if I don't have my money by Monday I'll take the next step whatever that is. I ordered over two weeks before Valentine's Day, around January 28th, a Valentine's Day specific set of flowers. It was a scheduled delivery for Valentine's Day. On the 13th I received confirmation that my order has been sent out to UPS, but the order never reached the UPS facility and has had no updates for the past 48 hours. I purchased a floral arrangement for my Anniversary to be delivered to my wife at our home. I spent an extra $50 to get the “best” “largest” arrangement and paid additional to add a card, balloons, and a Teddy Bear. The delivery arrived at 7:58pm, the balloons were barely floating, the arrangement was the small one (barely larger then the circumference of the vase) and to add insult to injury it had a card on it stating it came from our neighborhood Albertson’s Grocery Store two miles from our home.

I tried to log onto my account with ProFlowers, but the system wouldn’t allow me to log on. I tried to email the so to document to conversion. This too was a failed attempt. In short I paid approximately 5 times what I would have if I had gone to the grocery store and bought it myself, and my wife would have received it to enjoy for her anniversary. Lesson learned. I’ve never written a review but bruh...it’s sad because I read countless reviews thinking “oh this could never happen to me..” Well I was wrong.. I bought flowers for Valentine’s Day like everyone else in America, got a nice guarantee that they’d be delivered before my gf got off work. First off, FTD website customer service number will take you nowhere fast. The automated service will place you on hold with no background music or dial tone.. just dead silence. I felt slow so I hung up after 15 minutes of listening to nothing. I call the ProFlowers customer service number just to confirm that they’d possibly be sent on time and the Indian guy tells me “they’re sent”.. I ask him 3 times literally just to confirm that they were sent and he said yes so we ended the call. 30 mins later, I get a call from my gf expecting “they’re beautiful bae” or something equivalent but instead nothing in relation to these $155 flowers I just bought.

Ok now I’m a little pissed because shes actually off work and I was blatantly told 30 mins ago that the flowers were sent. I spoil the surprise and tell her I gotta call her back because he just lied for no apparent reason. She then goes back up to the job asking the receptionist if something was delivered but of course not. I call back and ironically I’m connected with the same Indian guy. I calmly asked “why did you say that the flowers were sent when they weren’t”.. (insert awkward silence here). He then asks to place me on hold to figure some things out. When he comes back, he then states that the computers are now down.... I immediately ask for a refund. He says that he’ll grant the refund and send me a REFUND confirmation email. No email came at all.

I received a confirmation email an hr later as if I just placed a new order. I call back again to confirm that he granted my refund and got a busy signal for about an hr before trying again and reaching a lady. After waiting and waiting and, you guessed it, more waiting, she states that the computers are down and to try again later... Smh. It’s comical how trash this company is. I called my bank to dispute the pending transaction cause I’m sure that refund wasn’t submitted. Wish I could give negative stars.

Why was I notified 49 minutes after they were suppose to arrive?"

Throughout the 5 minute phone call I was randomly placed on holds, she would mute the microphone out of nowhere, then return say, "we aren't able to process your order." Therefore cost should have been near $53. I had to enter all data, including billing, before the final price was displayed, and it was near $75! They had added a near $3 handling charge, but did not show any discount of the advertised 30% off the basic arrangement.

This is crazy!!! I hung up, and am never going to use ProFlowers again!!!! Imagine, my $32 flowers costing me $75!!!! I Googled a local florist near my intended recipient, and ordered a similar arrangement near $50, delivered. I do not care about the cheap vase that ProFlowers was going to throw in. If you do not mind paying nearly 234% of the advertised price, and hope that they will refund you your discount, so you "only" pay 190% of the advertised price, use ProFlowers. I emailed ProFlowers on Dec 31 with a photo of the less than what I ordered arrangement and expressed how unhappy I was with the order. I received a response on Jan 5 that their website shows my order was delivered as requested and they saw no issue with it. I am not sure if they just don't care or I got the customer service buffoon of the decade, but I will not be wasting my money on this company again. The sad thing is that I read their reviews before placing my order.

And she said, "What flowers?" I checked online and said out for delivery so thinking they are running way late. Checked again 12/26 and same. Called ProFlowers and talked to someone who was very hard to understand but told me the flowers I ordered were not available. I asked, "Why does it show out for delivery and why did not someone call me." I said they were a Christmas present for my mother who now has nothing for Christmas from me. She said, "Sorry you can pick out other flowers or refund." I asked to speak to a manager and she said no but when I pushed more she said ok and I was put on hold for over 15 minutes and finally hung up. Would never use them again and hope no one else does.

My mother's 80th birthday was earlier this month and I ordered a nice bouquet from ProFlowers to be delivered to her. Her birthday came and went. NO FLOWERS. The day AFTER her birthday, I get an auto-generated email saying the delivery couldn't be made due to a problem with the arrangement. Her birthday came and went with NO FLOWERS. And, no notice to me ahead of time that there was a problem that could be addressed and then another arrangement be sent. I was HEARTBROKEN.

But, here's where things really are messed up with this company. I call the customer service number in the email. I'm on hold for almost 20 minutes. The first customer service rep blankly asks if I want a refund. I explain the sensitivity of this gift. No empathy. No concern. Nothing. Just "do you want a refund?" Really?! I explain again that my mother's 80th birthday came and went with NOTHING from the florist. So, I ask to speak to a supervisor. I get bounced around to two more people. Same monotone voices and "do you want a refund?" Finally, "Veronica" offers a refund and to send another bouquet. This sounds fair to me. I get the refund. Now, 18 days later, my mother has NO FLOWERS. If it's a special occasion that you really care about and want flowers delivered on time and in good condition, DON'T USE PROFLOWERS.

I placed a Christmas gift order with ProFlowers this year. I ordered 4 holiday centerpieces to be delivered to 4 different addresses. One was to be delivered on Saturday, 12/21 and the other three on Sunday, 12/22. I got an email on 12/20 telling me that my Saturday delivery was being delayed until Sunday. I quickly called ProFlowers to let them know that the recipient was leaving her home Sunday morning to head to the mountains for a family Christmas and needed to take the holiday arrangement with her - thus my order for delivery on Saturday. After dealing with a woman whose English was poor, I was told that my delivery wouldn’t happen on time. Based on that, I asked her to cancel the order. I was hopeful she understood me, although our communication was difficult. Instead of canceling that order, she cancelled another one.

It turns out that ProFlowers went ahead and delivered the first order on Monday, 12/23 (two days late!) to an empty home and left it on the porch to freeze. The recipient of the second order let me know she did not receive hers on Sunday, so I called ProFlowers on Monday, 12/23. I got hold of a woman I couldn’t understand at all. After repeatedly telling her I couldn’t understand her, I asked her to transfer me to someone I could understand and she refused. I ended up hanging up on her. I then got on the ProFlowers chat and got Bernadette P. She promised me that my order would be delivered 12/24 – better late than never. Then it didn’t show up again.

On 12/25, I tried the chat feature again and was told my order was cancelled and refunded, I was then told to call customer service at 877-383-6147 and ask for a supervisor. Since I already tried that the previous day and was refused access to a supervisor, I asked the agent to have a supervisor call me. She stopped communicating with me. I went ahead and called the number and got Steve. I was again promised my delivery would be made on 12/26 once he spoke with the local florist. He asked for my phone number and told me he’d let me know what was going on. I have since heard nothing and that delivery never showed up. The bottom line...I depended on ProFlowers for 4 centerpiece gifts for 4 friends. They ended up ruining my planned gifts for 2 of the 4 recipients...a 50% failure rate. I am very, very disappointed in their customer service. It is clear that their customers are not a priority.

I ordered flowers for a funeral. For some odd reason, they could not deliver to a funeral home, so I had the flowers delivered to a family member I knew was attending. I was later informed by them the flowers did not arrive as planned. I called Pro-flowers, sat on hold for 1/2 hour, and was told (like it was no big deal) "the flowers can't be delivered today, but they will go out in one week". I spoke with a manager who said the same thing. I was extremely upset, again they were for a funeral, but I agreed to have the flowers delivered at the later date so my sister-in-law would receive them.

For this, the manager offered to take the service fee off for me (a measly 15%, the money wasn't the point but talk about insulting). Guess what, again the flowers did not arrive. At no point had I received any kind of notification there was an issue until I had to call, and both times I called, they casually informed me the order would not be delivered. Clearly, no concern for the situation they created. I have used them before, no problem, but now seeing all these other poor reviews something has clearly changed there.

However, the moment there is some problem (incorrect address, missing card, the need to reschedule, etc), you can't really count on their customer service to fix it quickly and properly. At least in my experience, they never reply to their email customer service, the online assistant is nonexistent. Also, there is no easy way to cancel orders. You can't do it online. You must call and wait etc. In short, I'm looking for another company.

I have called customer service 5 times to ask why my order was cancelled. Twice the reps sounded like children. They couldn’t find my order, couldn’t repeat the letters in my name, and repeatedly begged for another chance when I asked to speak to someone else who could understand English.

A third rep sounded like a teenager, had difficulty spelling my name and repeating my order number. He put me on hold several times, each time telling something that wasn’t relative to my order. ‘Call your bank and dispute the charges.’. ‘Call back tomorrow after it is delivered to check the status.’. ‘ We’re not allowed to tell you why.’ When I asked to speak to a supervisor, he became angry and asked ‘WHY?’.

The 5th rep was able to find the order after multiple repeats of my order number and name. He put me on hold for several minutes at a time, but like the previous rep none of his responses made sense in reference to an order cancelled by ProFlowers. I have worked with offshore call centers for 20 years. This one is worse than the worst. Never mind the language issues, they have no training and no available information about the orders. So a couple days ago placed a Order with the company. Received confirmation of my order. Also asked to have shipped in the morning so I paid an additional fee. Went to check status on my account it’s not showing up. Called customer service to find out what’s going on. She ensures me everything fine. She sees it. She will send me another email with the matter corrected. Received a email from company. Order number in the subject. What alarming is the body of the email has their logo and everything. Order number, subtotal, total are blank. Mind you ProFlowers charged my account already and took their money.

So I called today because I’m concerned not to mention it’s for my Fiancée birthday. Spoke to rep. Her continue to say sorry. It’s in transit. Hard to understand because he has a heavy Indian accent. I then say, "This is not fair. I paid for a service and it hasn’t been rendered. What can you do to compensate me." He credit me the expedited fee. I then go, "You have to do better than that." He credit the shipping fee. I believe couldn’t understand him. He tells me it’s in transit. Called again a few hours later because she still hasn’t received the flowers which are going to her job. Couldn’t understand the rep which is the 4 person speaking to regarding my order. It’s in transit.

I then requested to speak to a supervisor. She doesn’t tell me hold on. She just places me on hold and then sends me back into the automatic system. I get another rep. Ask about order. Says something say I can understand. She spells it out. Can’t understand. Now I’m frustrated. Ask can I just speak to supervisor. She places me on hold and hangs up. Call back. Tell the rep I just want to speak to supervisor regarding the matter. Finally get one online explaining to them the situation. All they say sorry it’s in transit. Pretty much nothing we can do for me.

Confused a company this big no reason service is poor and where is my order if it’s not under my profile platform. Scam because I could wonder how many other people this happened to. Bad business procedures, services, customer service, Customer Service associates. Horrible Call Center. Will no longer use them. Will advise you not to. Just go directly to the Mom & Pop shops. Multi million company sucks. Not sure if I got my 20% when I placed the order. Hence this was for my Fiancée Bday. Got email says they're going to refund me for the shipping, expedited fee, 30% of the order. I will never use them again. If it’s your first time don’t even think about. The company outsourced so English isn’t good. I’m just saying. Flowers for someone special failed hence it’s suppose to now arrive tomorrow they close early for Christmas party. Tried to make my fiancée day special. Proflowers failed me.

I sent sympathy flowers to a funeral. I ordered 5 days in advance for a Saturday delivery. All I got was an automated confirmation but on the day the flowers never reached. I have tried to call and email the company 6-7 times in the past 20 hours and haven’t been to connect to a real person either way. I spent $160 on the flowers and I am appalled this horrible customer service!!! The fact that in this day and age the customer service call drops every time after I wait 10 minutes and before I get to a representative and that an email has not been acknowledged or responded to is simply appalling for a company that functions online!! I am out $160 and no flowers were sent to this person on a very sombre occasion. This was really important to me. This is so unfortunate!

I have used Proflowers in the past without issue for same day as well as future deliveries. I used same day prior to cut off time for a birthday today October 26, 2019. I received the confirmation email at approximately 2pm indicating I would be informed when the delivery occurred today. It never occurred. I call customer service at 1040 pm and what took place was utterly ridiculous. I was first told my card was declined, which I knew wasn't true. Then I was told they had no card information, which didn't make sense if my card was declined. Then I was told the florist didn't have the flowers. Subsequently, it was my local florist fault because the local didn't communicate they had no flowers, this too made no sense because I live 6 states away from where I was sending the flowers.

After I refuted all the lies in detail, the customer service representative hung up on me. That further confirmed he told me lies. I immediately call back. I explain the previous call to a customer service representative and ask was my card charged. I am told yes. I was told this time that my order was never processed by Proflowers. I state, so this was essentially Proflowers' fault. I am told yes. I am then asked, "How would you like us to resolve the issue". I say since her birthday is basically over, refund my money and send a sorry for the delay bouquet. I am met with silence then I am told there are only two ways to resolve this...refund or process order. Why ask?

Poor customer service to lie, not admit fault, then pretend to care. There was so much more nonsense that occurred with this experience but I think you get the picture. In the end I received my refund and my recipient received nothing for her birthday. I can't leave this out. I was asked to complete a two question survey at the end of the call. The customer service representative connected me to a continuous ringing number. I never took the survey. Coincidence. I think not.

Be wary and do not purchase a Groupon without knowing how much everything will cost as you cannot return it.

Unbelievably poor service. I searched for the best online florists and the article cited ProFlowers.com as the best same- or next-day delivery. The website gave me several options in the zip code I entered. I paid $214 to have a wreath delivered to a funeral the next morning and received a confirmation email saying they'd let me know when they delivered the wreath. At about 11:05, I realized I hadn't received a confirmation email, so I called their 800 number.

The "customer service" rep barely spoke English and was incapable of providing answers if they weren't in her pre-written script. After putting me on hold through the duration of the funeral, she came back and said, "Turns out the $214 wreath you purchased will not be available today, and even if we had it, the funeral has already started, so..." as if I somehow wouldn't know that it was too late to deliver to the church. That's pretty much why I called.

I asked when and how I would have learned that the wreath I paid $214 for next-day delivery was delivered. She couldn't answer because it wasn't in her pre-written script; but she was kind enough to inform me that the funeral had already started. Because she offered no solutions (or apologies), I asked for a supervisor and was put on hold for another several minutes.

Because we'd totally missed the funeral by now, they offered to let me change the delivery address and a "partial refund" for their complete ineptitude. SERIOUSLY?! DO NOT ORDER FROM PROFLOWERS.COM IF YOU EXPECT TO GET WHAT YOU WANT, WHEN YOU WANT IT. Unless you just have a ton of time to kill and a bottle of **.

The girl that took the call was pleasant but was not able to give a reason for my order not being delivered. She did offer a refund of the delivery charges and did offer to select something else but it wouldn't be delivered until the following week. I feel at the very least, ProFlowers should have made the effort to get something delivered immediately to the recipient. 4 days after a birthday is just not acceptable and neither is not letting a paying customer know there was a problem. After opening them - the flowers were warm to the touch - I followed the instructions as detailed. The lilies and one rose opened up. The remainder stayed as when received or dried up. Very disappointed in this company. Perhaps it should be renamed Mediocre Flowers. They told me that they would hold me on the line and call the florist to see the other options. She asked my name and mailing address, to which I provided, but she said that the flowers were not delivered under that name. I told them that I did not order them for myself, so they were not addressed to my name, but a female name at the same address. Somehow, this perplexed them - it seemed as if they became extremely suspicious of me.

To prove my identity, they asked me to read aloud the PRIVATE message on the card I had written with the flowers just to prove it was me. This was after providing my name, address, last 4 digits of credit card I paid with, basically any information they requested! My son sent my wife some flowers for Mother's Day (Stargazer Lilies and Iris) which she received on Tuesday, May 14th. One of our two cats ate a piece of 3 leaves (I have pictures if you want them) and according to our vet and tons of other public information, this flower is toxic to cats! Our vet told us to call the ASPCA Poison Control before taking her to a hospital. We did, at a cost of $65 and they created a file. We then took the cat to Mount Laurel Animal Hospital in NJ where she was immediately admitted. The vet explained that not only is the plant toxic, so is every part of it including the pollen. It causes kidney failure.

We picked up our cat the next day although they did say she should stay another night but $1,081.81 plus the $65.00 was enough of a financial burden and the estimate for 2 nights was $2,801.23. They did say her test results were ok so we felt comfortable taking her home. When I called their customer service agent, he did not seem overly concerned but said he would escalate my inquiry to the home office and if I did not hear back in a day or so, I should call again. I heard nothing so I called back and send copies of bills and photos to another agent. I was told they would get back to me in a timely manner and as almost 3 months of lip service and fabrications has passed, I am posting this wherever I can.

There are two issues here: First, I believe that anyone ordering lilies in general for someone should be asked if there are animals in the household. It makes sense and this policy should not be too hard to initiate. I'm certain their ordering system could be programmed to create an alert to whoever is taking the order to ask the question. Secondly, I feel I should be reimbursed by this company for the medical expenses. Hope someone reads this and stays away from this company. They might like flowers but could care less about animals.
