I used to love ordering from Groupon. If you had a problem with a merchant, Groupon went out of its way to help. That’s not the case anymore. We bought a Groupon and tried to use it but 1) the merchant didn’t answer or reply to our first three attempts to schedule. Finally the merchant answers and we scheduled our session. We drove out to the address only to find no sign of a business. We called the merchant and surprise surprise no answer. I reported this to Groupon. The first guy said, "Prove to me they’ve gone out of business." The second one said, "Make efforts for 7 days" Why is it my job now to reach out to their merchants??? Looks like I’m eating $45 and just not shopping on Groupon anymore.

I went to Sam's Club and was told due to the changes from Groupon they no longer have the information from Groupon to open my account as they once did when I purchased the Sam's membership in the past. I tried contacting Groupon but there's no customer service number to call so I went to the site and entered my problem. That was two weeks ago. My problem still hasn't been resolved. I've made purchases before without any problems. In fact the service providers have been great and fulfilled their end of the bargain however this was not the case. This time I purchased an item, went through the correct process for a solution and haven't heard any response from Groupon so I'm out of my hard earned money not only for the purchase but a response from Groupon. I'll never use their service again.

In November, I ordered 3 pairs of Swarovski diamond look earrings. I received 1 pair, but, not the other 2 pairs. I want my money back, but, cant reach Groupon. Also be careful of some companies who sell products on Groupon as a lot of the merchandise is pure crap. Be careful of the blanket company that puts photos on blankets. Total disaster sent me 2 of the same blanket instead of one photo blanket for each child separately. Don't use them.... It is crap!! Groupon customer service is also CRAP. If you have a problem you cant reach them!!

Bought A dry cleaner voucher from Fresh Cleaners on Dobson and Germann to dry clean my workshirts. I was told that the voucher did not count for dress shirts or dress pants or ties. It only work for a suit. Well I contact Groupon to let them know that that Store was false advertising because the picture on their logo on Groupon has dress shirts on it. Groupon says they can’t do anything about it. To me if you’re advertising on my company and you’re not giving my customers what they purchase then I need to step up and fix that problem instead of saying there’s nothing we could do about it.

I bought 2 pairs of snowshoes from Groupon some weeks back and the incorrect size arrived. I arranged a return using their nominated collection point and returned the goods. Groupon advised they would only refund once they had received the goods even though I was returning to their nominated agent. The goods were returned and the tracking shows that Groupon have received the goods. Groupon are now failing to respond to my many emails about getting the refund sorted. Hoping this will get resolved soon.

I was interested in purchasing tickets to a concert. I received an e-mail from Groupon about a FLASH sale offering a 30% discount. I decided to purchase the tickets because of the additional discount. I typed in the code and was not given the discount and charged for the tickets without my authorization. I contacted GROUPON about this and they refused to give me a refund stating that it was a final sale. Since I did not authorize the sale I found this to be unacceptable. After a live chat, and a 30 minute phone call, I still did not get my money back. Their mistake should not be at my expense. I see that many other people have had this same experience. I will not be buying anymore Groupon's in the future! Terrible customer service.

I purchased 2 Vouchers for Athens Greece and when I called to reserve them I was told that the departure cities that I have picked and paid for were not available anymore. Gate 1 suggested to call Groupon and ask for a refund since the deals that were sold are not valid anymore. They did process my refund very quickly but upon receiving it I had noticed that I lost 134$ due to the US/Canadian Conversion. To me, it was not fair that I had to lose money because of Groupon's fault. How is this fair that they don't issue you your actual refund when they are the ones at fault? They should include this in their policy. If they are not going to give you what you paid for at least give our money back. Very very upsetting.

Due to the fact that my reservation was not honored, my husband and I were forced to spend $117 that we had not budgeted for. All other nearby hotels were booked up and we had to take the only vacancy available as it was 11 pm and we had just driven 5+ hours after having worked all day. Tired and frustrated by the fact that we had no way of contacting anyone with any authority to remedy the situation on a weekend, our “fun weekend away” turned into a nightmare weekend that we just wanted to end. When I was finally able to contact customer service, I was told that after three days they had still not been in contact with the hotel regarding my issue. The second time I contacted customer service by phone was the second time that they were more interested in selling me something than resolving my issue.
The original thing they had sold me proved to be nothing! I trusted that by accepting my payment and sending me “confirmation”, Groupon had done their part to ensure that my reservation was iron clad. Failure to do so was either lazy or fraudulent. Either of these scenarios is unacceptable! A modicum of integrity on your part would dictate that in addition to refunding my money (not in “Groupon bucks”) you would also reimburse the additional $117 that I would otherwise not have spent. If this is a rare occurrence, your reputation would be worth it. If not, I can only wonder how many people you have already and will continue to defraud before you go out of business entirely.

I was in Las Vegas with my family. I bought tickets for a show (fireshow) that evening. Right after I paid for the tickets, Groupon closed down my account with no warning. Customer service refused to provide a refund, and refused to reactivate my account. They said "I'm sorry sir, you violated our terms of service". Apparently, my account was flagged and shut down because I used my wife's credit card to make the purchase. We weren't able to attend the show, because Groupon stole our money. They never provided the tickets we paid for.
I had had this account for over 3 years and had made many purchases through their service with no issues. Both myself, and my wife have spent many hours on the phone with Groupon representatives. They will not help. We lost about $330usd that to this day, more than a year later, Groupon still refuses to give back. I will never again try to use this service, and I advise others to use caution.

I was interested in using Groupon for good local discounts. I signed up, paid my $4.99 "monthly fee", only to discover that there were VERY FEW, if ANY Groupon coupons that were available for my local area. The closest that were of any interest at all were more than 50 miles away! I immediately cancelled my subscription and requested a refund of the monthly fee, only to be told it was non-refundable. Don't waste your money on Groupon!

Groupon has no live customer service that can be reached in less than 1 hour. Groupon allows you to purchase from Merchants you have already used your one time Groupon with which is frustrating because you may not remember that you visited the merchant. As a result you make this purchase and the merchant will not honor it after you have already spent the money. Then you are locked in to spending at that merchant. This is a business that should be shut down. I have been trying to use a Groupon for two years that was a gift. The merchant is impossible to contact. Finally I request a call from Groupon which took an 2 hours and 30 minutes and another hour for them to call back. I was told that the person who purchased the Groupon will need to request a callback even if they are right in front of me. So now I need to spend another 2 hours with my husband to contact them again. I am considering just suing.

Bought a Groupon gift card from Kroger for $200. Received an activation receipt from Kroger. When I tried to use it on Groupon, it said my code was invalid. I have tried every way I can find to contact Groupon. Including asking for a return call several times, and emailing. No response, other than email telling they would get back to me within 24 hrs. It has been 6 days and have not heard from them. Kroger will be getting them there $200, so as of right now Groupon has stolen $200 from me.
I have used Groupon for years, and if I don't receive a refund or credit the saving will be gone that I have saved over the years. I also had to purchase the concert tickets that I was trying to purchase from Groupon, so I'm 400.00 into something that should of only been $200. Everybody should realize when purchase something from Groupon, if you ever need real customer support, it does NOT EXIST! Shame on Groupon, you're thieves in my book now, and will not be using Groupon anymore.

The phone number no longer works. Well you can answer and select a number only to listen to music all day, but never reaching anyone. The Live Chat is gone from the website and you can't even email support! The website no longer exists. You are only allowed to see the FAQ which won't lead you to email support. Bad Bad Bad! So Groupon showed a deal for a hotel stay for around $15 a night in Myrtle Beach. When I was trying to research each, after I clicked on the date, it was showing me around $150 a night. So I went through the steps of booking it and put in a promo code to see if the price will decrease back to $15, but it didn't. Somehow I accidentally hit the submit button and I immediately emailed Groupon to ask for a refund. They told me they would have to investigate because that deal was non-refundable. I reminded them that it was an accident and asked them why was there price difference. They stated, again, that they will have to investigate and get back with me.
After about 2 weeks of going back-and-forth with emails, they told me that the hotel denied my refund. I ask them for proof of that and they said it was "confidential". I took it upon my own to contact the hotel and they informed me that they did not receive any money from Groupon because I never showed and if I wanted a refund that I will have to go through Groupon. So I told them what was stated to me from Groupon and they told me that that was not true because I booked through Groupon so I will have to get a refund through Groupon. As I related this information to Groupon, they told me that they will do further investigation and see what they can do. They email me again and said that my refund was still denied by the hotel. So here it is one month later and I am still fighting to get my $700 back. I am going to small claims court.

I've used Groupon over the years but recently they tried to cheat me out of $174. Their customer service used to be decent but now it is almost impossible to get someone on the phone unless you are trying to purchase a voucher. I was charged twice for a Groupon and even after I provided a copy of my statement proving this and they confirmed that I had a single purchase, they still would not refund the money from the double charge. After weeks of being given the run around by their online customer service, I reported it as a fraudulent charge to my bank. Despite valid proof that I was double charged, they continued to try to cheat me out of my money. The situation was finally resolved 2 months later in MY favor! Buyer beware!

I have had the most frustrating experience with Groupon that I have ever had with any merchant. First, I had items in my cart and coupon codes to use when I was ready to check out. I had attempted to use a coupon but hadn’t spent enough. At the checkout I updated my address. I put many items in my cart, got tired, and woke up the next morning to learn that somehow I had purchased all of the items in my cart, no discount, and the address change hasn’t gone through.
There is no customer service by phone anymore. I was asleep when the purchase occurred so I wasn’t able to change the order within the two hour window. I tried email, but no one returned my email. I was finally able to chat only to learn that I was welcome to find the merchants and ask them for a return- well, two of the items were final sale. Those two are the only ones I will likely receive.
Lesson learned. My credit card is now removed. I won’t likely receive the one item I knew I wanted. I was told by one shipper that Groupon could call and re-route the package but Groupon refused even after I gave them the phone number and order number. I wish I could give zero stars. I lost a decent amount of money, and Groupon will only credit items not sold through a merchant if a package is returned as undeliverable.

I thoroughly enjoy the purpose and services Groupon provides, however I have had a very unpleasant experience of trying to find their customer service. They no longer do customer service over the phone. It is all online, no issues, except I cannot even get as far as a chat screen to request a refund for a Groupon that was gifted to me by my Husband where the Vendor is no longer associated with the business. There is no contact information other than an address, and the vendor has not been at that address for at least a year and a half. Buyers beware if you get a Groupon, you are stuck with it.

Groupon sells many different types of deals, but beware anything you're not totally familiar with! If you're buying a Groupon for a restaurant you know, a movie theater, or the like, it's fine, however if it's mechanical, especially refurbished, it's likely crap! If it's clothing, the item may be true to size or way off! The problem is that they make it so difficult to reach them if you have a problem, that when you do, the 'warranty' has expired, so you're stuck; therefore I'll repeat: Buyer Beware!!

I purchased Groupon tickets for a Canadian attraction, from a Canadian IP address, using a Canadian credit card and nowhere in the entire transaction did it mention that all prices are in US dollars unless otherwise stated. The currency charge added to the purchase price by my credit card ended totaling more than if I had bought the tickets directly from the attraction. It took several attempts to even find someone in the Customer Service Dept that understood what had happened but in the end, not able to provide any compensation. I purchase from a number of US companies and have not come across one that does not indicate that the pricing is in US dollars (especially on the payment page). I think it is very misleading for Canadians who use Groupon. Hope others read this and shop elsewhere for their discounted attraction tickets.

Hi, I bought a Groupon voucher two years ago and whenever I tried using it the business owner keeps informing me that he is closed for this year and I will be able to use my voucher next year and so on. This year the business owner confirmed that he is closed permanently and I need to get back to Groupon to get my money back since he only gets his money when the voucher is scanned at his premises.
I contacted Groupon and they refused to give me Groupon credit or my money back claiming that the voucher has been expired. Since the first year I tried to get my money back but Groupon said they can't refund unless the business is closed permanently (that wasn't the case the first year) but now I got the confirmation from the business owner himself and I sent them the conversation proof. In brief, Groupon took 129 dollars and gave me nothing and they are stubborn and don't care about their customers at all. Trust me, stay away. It is a complete fraud. Thanks.

I recently purchased a Groupon for C$90 worth of Photobook Canada photobooks. I completed 2 photobooks, and attempted to use the Groupon voucher to pay. Photobook Canada would only accept the voucher for 1 photobook, which was far less than the total value of the Groupon. When I called customer support, they were very unhelpful, despite me reading to them what the Groupon stated. They suggested I call Groupon. WELL!!!! What a lot of frustration! First of all, it is very difficult to find any link to directly contacting Groupon. When I did finally find a contact, my choice was a "live chat" or request a phone call. The groupon site indicated there was no one available for a live chat, so I requested a phone call. The site suggested approx. 1 hour window for call back.
I waited by the phone, but received an email about 50 minutes later saying they had tried to call but couldn't reach me! I immediately emailed back stating I was by the phone, and there had been no ring. I re-confirmed my phone number and requested a call back. That was 6 hours ago. There has been no further contact from Groupon. Because my photobook projects were time-sensitive, I have been forced to use the groupon for 1 project, leaving a balance of approx. $35 unused. While I am not happy with Photobook's response, I am deeply dissatisfied with Groupon's "Customer Support". My advice to anyone else trying to use Groupon, is make sure before you buy that you won't need any customer support!!!

I booked a Ramada Inn by Wyndham in Pigeon, Forge, TN. The motel was run down and dirty. There was feces on a towel, blood on the bedding, hair in the shower, spiders on the walls, ripped bedding, etc. I was told by the hotel staff that they could not refund my money because I booked through Groupon/Expedia (didn't realize Expedia was involved when I booked).
I've contacted Groupon multiple times and still no response on a refund, just that "they're checking into it." The hotel has since been sold, although I was able to tack down the manager because they own other properties in Pigeon Forge. I've passed this information on to Groupon and still no response. Very disappointing experience and not what you would expect for $150 room.

If you need assistance from Groupon, be prepared for disappointment. I purchased auto detailing from a mobile service, then couldn’t get the company to return my calls or emails. Groupon’s customer service has dwindled to practically nonexistent. Finding a way to contact Groupon on their app is way too difficult, while the small print is amazingly comprehensive. I contacted Groupon, hoping that they would at least stand behind their customers where a business refused to even try to honor the deal purchased through Groupon. No such luck. I purchased a Groupon for auto detailing in 11/2017. Due to an illness I never got to use it, overtime I forgot about it. Today I did live chat with Joel **, I asked what happens when this occurs and I was told it was redeemed. I explained I didn't use it due to illness. Please contact Paint Nite directly regarding any difficulty you may be encountering on their site. They can be reached at info@paintnite.com. Since they are more familiar with their website, they will be able to provide you with a quicker resolution. Unfortunately, we will not be able to assist you with any redemption or scheduling inquiries unless you have contacted Paint Nite first. I've talked to both Groupon and Mario Andretti Racing Experience now and neither of them said they will refund my purchase. It seems pretty lame that big companies can't make small consumers happy by fixing things like this. I don't recommend using Groupon if you think you may need to return your purchase.

I don’t look on Groupon but once maybe twice a week due to the offers being so limited & boring. Offers are mediocre, it’s the same thing every day. The offers that require shipping, I don’t even look at those due to the shipping fees are ridiculous & not worth the offer at all. Would be great if offers could be in my area, I’m only 20 min away from a huge city & the town I live in has tripled over the last 4 years!

I have been repeatedly cheated by this company - I keep threatening to complain but they don't seem to care. So, today I am making good on my promise to expose their wrongs. I have many emails back and forth between me and Groupon - if anyone at Consumer Affairs wants to read all about my negative experiences to know that I can back up what I say, they are welcome. In brief, this company uses lies and misdirection. I am now going through my credit card statements.
On May 6, 2018, I purchased three gift Groupons. One for a spa for $49 - the spa closed its doors (after my cousin called numerous times for months and they didn't answer; she drove there), and that amount was refunded to my card. Another business, Zena Beauty Salon and Spa, in Virginia refused to take male clients (and Groupon hid that fact in the terms and conditions instead of saying it was a woman only Groupon) - this salon, btw, has a history of accepting male and female massage, so this was extremely misleading and I would dare say illegal. I tried to work with the spa owner for a while and she said she would bring back her massage person who does male and female, but after some months... she still hadn't.
I should have received a refund in full from Groupon. I paid $35 for that and Groupon refused to give my money back even though I had informed them of the problem soon after purchase. Since they wouldn't issue the refund and insisted I take their horrid Groupon bucks, I tried to work things out with the spa owner but she couldn't in the end - stuck with $35 Groupon bucks. However, I thought I was getting the full amount I paid with my credit card but never did. The third gift Groupon didn't get used, because the person moved away - was told I'd get a full Groupon bucks credit for what I paid on my credit card, which was $25. I did not. So, I should by now have $55 Groupon bucks credit, but no...
On September 13, 2018, I purchased a cryo session from Alpha Cryo in Virginia for my husband who was suffering from bad back pain. This biz cheated my husband by 1/3 of his session time, and did not ask him questions they were supposed to as they did with other clients (my husband told me the way he was treated, and I believe he was treated differently than members of other races -my husband and I are different races); as a result, my husband had little benefit from the treatment. I originally tried to work this out with the owner in an amicable manner (for some reason and I'd have to go back thru my emails, Groupon told me to book another session so there are two of these on my account but the second make-up session never happened because the owner behaved horribly and rejected it).
Groupon read the emails and apologized profusely (I think they also suspected unjust treatment from the biz owner) and took it upon themself to issue a full refund in Groupon bucks. So by now, all you mathematicians should get that I am supposed to have $55 in Groupon bucks - but that's not how Groupon sees it. Please understand, too, that when you view your Groupon deals, they use misdirection so you can't see plainly what you paid (they don't show what I paid - isn't that illegal) and what you are refunded, so I had to go through my emails and credit cards to verify what should be plain as day on their website in my account.
In September, 2018, I purchased a book for my nephew from a great company via Groupon - total cost was $4. That month, my credit card was charged $6.75 -don't know why as I was supposed to have $55 in Groupon Bucks. So, this should bring my total Groupon bucks to $57.75. Ah. But it doesn't according to Groupon, but once again, since they hide things instead of making them crystal clear. I had no idea just how much they were cheating me until I went through my statements (something I should not have to do as it should be there on my account with respect to how much my credit card was actually charged). In fact, some of my Groupon purchases don't show anything on my account - broken links.
That brings us to Beautiful Image South Bay - On January 29, 2019, I bought a chiropractic assessment and treatment for my husband's back trouble. OK, so we called this business numerous times over weeks - they never answered the phone and never returned my message. I complained to Groupon that this biz was not professional and that I was not having an unreliable business mess with my husband's back for a chiropractic treatment. Groupon said... "Well, you should just book online..."
I said it is unprofessional for a chiropractor's office to never answer the phone during biz hours. Groupon insisted I try again. I told them to just give me the refund. They didn't -all this is documented in chats with them (as are the other Groupon issues above). Weeks later, when I realized the refund wasn't issued, I had to ask another customer service rep again for it. Groupon should not have done that. This surely violates my rights to be protected from shady businesses -would YOU reading this go to a doctor's office where they never answered the phone for weeks and you called different times (more than a dozen) of the day during biz hours? Can you trust that office or doctor with your back for a chiro treatment when you leave a message and they never responded. Would YOU blindly book an appointment with such a business?
So, by now, I should have $57.75 in Groupon bucks. I have $25.50. Not only has this company stolen, yes, I say stolen my money. They have wasted colossal amounts of my time while lying and cheating. I want them to return my money and they should even face a lawsuit and pay for their transgressions. Will that be the next step? This company doesn't care. Even if they give me back the money they cheated me of. How about my time and energy and being treated poorly, all the frustration, etc. They need to do more than pay the difference in the two amount referenced above and fast. I may post a copy of this to social media if I don't get satisfaction from Groupon. Meanwhile, I am complaining here. As I said, I have credit card receipts, screen shots of Groupon's pages, and chat histories to back up what I say. Shame on Groupon.

I went there a second time and the same thing happened. The machine did not work, they kept apologizing and I ended up getting burned again. I later found out that the store opened this location recently after rebranding, after having to close down their previous enterprise due to poor service reviews.
The voucher being redeemed is irrelevant. I paid for 6 sessions and their machines malfunctioned both times I was there and I did not receive the service I paid for. I also made a complaint to the Better Business Bureau about Groupon’s business practices. Groupon's response has been to offer me a partial payment and say it's not their problem. Why am I being offered partial payment when I received no service? Groupon is a fraud with no regulation or accountability.

I will admit that part of this is on me. Way back in 2016, I purchased a Groupon for frozen yogurt. I paid $12 and got $20 credit. The bonus credit would expire in a couple of months. I then forgot I had the voucher and the yogurt shop closed down. When going through my account, I saw that I still had the voucher, but it was marked as expired. I read the fine print. The $12 I paid would last forever, but the $8 bonus credit was long gone. Fair enough, I just wanted the $12 which I couldn't use because the store had gone out of business.
When I contacted Groupon, they first told me that because the voucher had expired, I was out of luck. I quoted them the text that the base value ($12) never expires, and they offered me a $6 Groupon credit (which itself would expire in a few months). When I pushed back, they increased the value to $10. Ultimately, their defense was that it's up to the merchant to honor the voucher, not Groupon. In this case where the merchant was out of business, it still wasn't Groupon's responsibility and it was generosity on their part to even offer me any Groupon credit.
I'll take what I can get, and it's my fault I forgot about the voucher while the store was still open. But it would be nice if Groupon stood behind their service, and if a store has closed down they should offer to transfer the remaining voucher value or offer a refund. I suppose I'm only out $2, but what if it was a $100 voucher instead of a $12 voucher?

Upon looking at Groupon “deals” I came across what I thought was a fun event for me and my family. I’m comparing prices with the actual excursion. It was only a few dollars savings, but I thought I would purchase from Groupon, to continue to give them my business. Making my Canadian excursion purchase, with my Canadian Credit Card tied to my Canadian address and my Canadian Groupon account, I later came to find out my purchase was charged in US currency without stating it clearly at ANY point during my purchase. Which means, after the hefty price plus currency exchange, I was actually paying MORE for my excursion than anyone else booking it directly with the company! I tried resolving this issue with Groupon and after dealing with three different people I was told that the fine print says “final sale”.
I was fine with the “final sale” however I am NOT fine with tricking me into purchasing something by charging me in a higher rate currency without even stating the purchase made would be charged in US funds! This was a complete disappointment not only from finding out the tricks that are played on Groupon, but also the horrible customer service, despite Groupon’s claim to “customer satisfaction”. I tried everything in my power to be fair and reasonable with Groupon representatives and quickly learned it’s all just “talk” without action. You can’t even call Groupon anymore, the customer service #s all have recording telling you that you now must contact customer service online. Yes, live chat is there, however, I am about human contact.
After two live chat sessions, I finally completed the form to request a call back, not sure why, since everyone literally read/typed from the same script and refused to help and went as far as saying they would be fine with me “trying” to dispute these charges further, if my credit card company will fight for me. Thanks Groupon! Thanks for leaving a horrible taste in my mouth and for not being able to positively promote your company. I tried to leave a zero star rating, however that isn’t possible. Their customer service lady told me that she could not refund me, even after she confirmed that the Groupon was no longer valid. She said that she would make it so that I could trade in the voucher and purchase something else, but that I would have to do it before the Groupon expired in 23 days or I would loose the money I spent. I asked what if I don't find anything that I want before it expires and she told me to just look and find something that I might like so that I don't loose all my money.
I asked to speak with the manager and she put me on hold for 10 minutes before someone answered. He was brusk and sounded annoyed. He also refused to give me a refund back to my card even after he personally verified that the Groupon was unable to be used. He did transfer the money that I spent to Groupon Bucks which he said never expire. I am extremely disappointed with this experience. When the discount did not end up applying and customer service failed to provide a solution except we can cancel your membership but would not refund the $4.99 initial monthly fee, I now have second guessed the purchase and have not moved forward, am questioning future purchases and have immediately cancelled the reoccurring membership. This is the 1st time I can recall interacting with their customer service and it was just so poor. I then rec'd a second item the same as the first. My credit card was billed for two items. I contacted Groupon "help" and explained. Over a period of 5 weeks I was asked various questions and switched from one person to another three times. I was then asked all the same questions again. I typed that I would like to chat with a manager and the correspondence ceased. It felt like the process was to wear the buyer out so that he goes away. I do feel worn out and cheated. Their return policy seems flawed and the staff that I was dealing with was unethical. I like the Groupon business model however, given this experience, I cannot deal with them. I feel scammed.

So, after combing through the website to figure out how to contact customer service, I finally got into a live chat. They were the least helpful customer service I have ever had to contact. My bank also alerted me of a potential fraud alert and closed my credit card. Groupon was notified via a request to call me (never received a call) and Live Chat. The merchant was notified as well. When making a purchase on Groupon I never thought that I would have a problem after all I have purchased from them many times before. Unfortunately this time was different. I purchased 3 tickets to Universal Studios on Groupon, almost $700. My initial purchase I made an error and purchased 3 children tickets instead of adult tickets and this is where the nightmare began. There is NO number to call customer service if you experience a challenge. Due to the nature of my purchase I could not request a callback from customer support. I had to go under another purchase to request a callback.
When the call came in the representative was extremely rude and short with me. The purchase stated all sales are final and she would not discuss the purchase with me. After trying to explain I was looking to simply upgrade the children tickets to adult tickets she still refused to listen or assist me. I had to request a second callback where I asked to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor explained to me that they could give me the money back via Groupon bucks. That was fine with me as I was going to purchase the tickets anyway. The children tickets was refunded and I purchased the adult tickets. Everything was perfect...so I thought.
Two weeks go by we have driven 8 hours to Orlando FL to only get to the gate of Universal Studios to learn our NEW set of tickets had also been refunded. Why???? Who made this request? Shocked by this news I look on my Groupon app and I see the Groupon bucks is back in my account. Embarrassed at the gate....I make the purchase again, but my Mom is there and also want a ticket so now the total cost is almost $1000. I step out of line, make the purchase, get back in line, and Groupon automatically refund those tickets, this refund, which was not requested, cause us to be turned away from Universal Studios a second time.
Hours has passed. By this time, the children are getting restless, and my senior citizen Mother is getting hungry. I request a manager from Universal Studios who shows me on the computer screen where it clearly showed that Groupon had refunded the tickets and they cannot be used. At that time I purchased tickets from Universal Studios directly in efforts to enjoy reminder of the day. At this point Groupon still has almost $1000 of my money which until this very day the refuse to refund. I simply want my cash, not Groupon bucks, back!
I have reached out to Groupon via chat, supplied them with screenshots of my tickets being refunded (without my request), the receipt from the tickets I purchased at Universal Studios, and they still refuse to resolve the matter. As a matter of fact I was blamed for the error. Yes, the customer is NOT right with Groupon. At this point I supplied Groupon with screenshots that showed the refund of my tickets the day of the purchase. However now it magically showed the tickets valid. We are back home and is not interested in using the tickets. My advice to all shoppers is please don’t purchase from Groupon! Their customer service is horrible, you can’t just call and speak with someone, and the few dollars you save is not worth the headache if something goes wrong. Please share this warning with all your family and friends.

Once I get done creating the photobook, approximately 4 hours of work, exactly the type and specified number of pages, no add-ons or other embellishments. Groupon is committing fraud and ignoring consumer protection laws, and all of you are foolishly falling prey to a dishonest corporation.

Groupon has very poor customer service. I bought a $90 voucher for a horse drawn carriage ride through Groupon. Upon opening the voucher I found no information about where to meet for the carriage ride, all it said was the city. The phone number provided went straight to voicemail. I contacted Groupon's customer service and did not hear back for 4 days. Now they tell me they can't do anything to help me since it expired, even though they are the ones who took so long to get back to me.

We love Kalahari and bought a Groupon to go with our extended family for the evening. Our son unfortunately was hospitalized a few days before our stay and Groupon would not let us change the date or get a refund. I think this is absolutely horrible and bad business. We have proof our son was sick and hospitalized, however they wouldn't do anything about it. Not cool, Groupon. People don't plan for their kids to end up in the hospital. They should allow for date changes with valid medical excuses. Very disappointed.

She agreed and sent me out an additional one bottle so I was still short 1 bottle. Called again. Different representative who refused to honor deal. I will never use Groupon again. Customer service is only as good as who you get on the phone.

I purchased a item from Groupon. They shipped the WRONG item. I notified Groupon and they requested I ship the item back. I did so and incurred return shipping charges. They now will not refund the shipping charges to my visa on file with them... the same card they refunded my original purchase. They only want to repay me in Groupon bucks. Which I have no interest in receiving... I paid for the return shipping in cash. They are the ones who made the error of shipping the wrong item. I believe it is only fair I get paid back in the method of my choice. Not their choice so they can make more money from me. As I mentioned many times to Groupon I will only be satisfied when I get repaid in cash not Groupon credits. Any assistance that you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! The spa told my wife to contact Groupon to get an extension. Good luck with that! I have been trying to communicate with Groupon for half an hour. The 800# is not answered by a human. Tried Live Chat but typing did not work. The customer support online sends you in circles. Are these guys still in business?

I never dealt with such a horrible customer service. Due to my daughter falling sick with an extremely high temperature, I was unable to use our reservation. I called before to see if there was anything I can do. The reservation place said I could have someone else go in our place. I called Groupon and they assured me they would change the date, that I could still go. I even have an email to prove it.
Come Monday, I get another email stating that they could do nothing about it. I was so upset that they lied. I would have gladly let my friends go to at least not to lose my money. But since they assured me via phone and email that the dates were changed, I waited. And I talked to supervisors and they assured me that there was nothing they could do. (Even considering the emails I have that stated they wouldn’t help me out). Never buying anything on Groupon again.

I purchased two Groupons for a one-night stay in a cabin at Lake Murray in Oklahoma. It seemed like I had plenty of time (over 4 months) to use it so I wasn't worried. Sadly I called repeatedly and there was NEVER any open cabins. The dates in the small print was also confusing. I had to book by a certain date but could travel by a later date. This was the worst purchase I've made at Groupon, what a waste of money. BUYER BEWARE!

Listed hotels we would be at during Costa Rica trip via Monkey tours. Before booking this Groupon trip I googled all hotels. Came up as 4 stars. They did state they could be “similar” hotel. Similar hotels. We received “similar” hotel. It was a 1.5 star hotel for two nights. I sent Groupon all pictures of hotel. It should have been condemned!! Mold on flooding floors, falling down ceiling, no hot water, unusable molded pool and hot tub, to use if WIFI or TV, bugs in the bed and lined up on window sills. I have called numerous times. I did get a small credit but was not for bad hotels. Most importantly I see others complained about this unfit hotel these use and even with pictures they continue to use this company. You call. They transfer ultimately hanging up on you. They send email asking you to explain AGAIN! When you receive email it does not allow you to respond. Call me crazy but I have called over 12 times!!

Groupon is a scam. Here is how they do it: 1. They collect money from clients that purchase products and services from independent businesses. 2. They do not allow the businesses to contact the clients who purchased their product or service. 3. When and if the client contacts the business, the telephone number is blocked, thereby reducing the likelihood that the business will answer the phone. The point of all of this is for Groupon to hold as much of the clients' money as possible for as long as possible for the purpose of investing and expanding their net worth. They say they don't give clients' info out to businesses for security purposes. That is a lie. This practice should be criminalized.

I have called Groupon several times trying to find resolution on an issue I had purchasing a gift for a friend. After speaking with a few agents who were unable to answer my question, I asked to speak to a Supervisor. Maria got on the phone and was SO rude, cut me off when I was speaking, spoke over me, insulted me and when I asked to speak to her Supervisor, she refused to connect me or give me any of her information. She couldn't give me her last name, told me there was no one above her "willing" to speak to me and then hung up on me. I am APPALLED by the behavior of this so-called Customer Support Specialist. There was nothing special or supportive about her.
Groupon might save you a few dollars, but NOT worth the hassle & stress of doing business with them. They are sneaky about the fine print (when it comes to purchasing a gift) and they are SO unhelpful - don't even bother trying to get in touch with customer support. Further, businesses selling on Groupon only make 50% of the voucher price, and Groupon takes the other half. Save yourself the headache of going through Groupon and their HORRIBLE customer support, and buy straight from the business. They will usually honor the Groupon price AND this makes it a win-win... They get 100% of the sale and you don't have to deal with the crap service with Groupon's Customer "support" (really, lack thereof).

This Groupon Select is a scam, they give you the first month for free like any other company, but they don't let you cancel it until you end paying the first 6 months. They said that it is in the fine prints, but you won't expect that you need to read them, coming from a company like Groupon. Many other companies will let you cancel during their trial time, but Groupon does not. They also promise you to get a 5 dollars Starbucks egift card when the first payment is made, but they are not clear enough to say that your 4.99 payment won't count towards it. They don't said anywhere there that it will be after the first order, or purchase, so that is another way why they are not being clear with this thing call "Groupon Select."

Riverside Hot Pot charges 18.99 dollars per head Monday to Friday (Happy Hours). But when I went there this evening with my family, they informed me for customers using Groupons, they charge 23.99 per head. (For my family of five, the bill ended up 25 dollars more than other customers not using a Groupon). This eliminating any saving I might have had using the Groupon.
I paid 34 dollars for a Groupon of 58 dollars value at Rivefside Hot Pot, that’s a saving of 24 dollars. One dollar short of the increased price for Groupon users. This Groupon has a restriction and can only be used from a Monday to Thursday, so basically they charge more if you use a Groupon to make up for the discount. Total scam!

Ok so I have been using Groupon for a while, and most of the items I wanted where ok and in good time, however they are usually very cheaply made, cheaper made than expected most of the time. and I have received about 3 products that where broken on delivery. My bigger issue is that you have to watch for Groupon deals especially on products, because With a little research you will find that they are not the cheapest deal out there for the same products, even if you look at a big box retailer like Walmart or Toys R Us, you will find the exact same products but sometimes cheaper than Groupon, so make sure you know what other companies are offering before buying from Groupon.
Also I have been having trouble with tickets bought on Groupon, if you miss the show the tickets were bought for, you can’t redeem them for something else which is fine, however they will send you push notifications telling you that you can?! Which is false advertisement, and I get these push notifications a lot, which then confuses me into thinking I can redeem my expired tickets. My advice would be buy from Groupon ONLY if you know you are getting a deal, and don’t always trust their push notifications or what their sellers are saying because it’s not always as advertised. But if you do your research and know more about what you are getting into, then Groupon can be good.

The beats are on sale from $299.99 to a 33%off now at $199.99 with extra $30 off. I don’t know why it does not add up. Asked rep. She said it’s already included. No codes to apply. Long story short. She issued a $10 credit for future purchase. I asked if she could connect me with a manager. She connects me with supervisor. Supervisor explains same thing. My reply was, "Please show me the math." I was not that good in math in school, but as I get older, it makes sense. LOL. She said there are no codes to apply and rep had issued a $10 credit.
Of course, that does not give me what the price would be if the extra $30 was actually honored to the sale price as stated. The supervisor apologize and said price is included. This is a false advertising. How does the math add up & to be included? Told supervisor I was reporting Groupon. I have never had a major issue with Groupon until today. We use them a lot. Love the deals but today was a turn for the worse. Had two orders wanted to place with them today and unfortunately, I will have to look elsewhere. This is terrible Groupon. I hoped to ordered the Dre beats for my son’s birthday (in April) and now this.
