A long time ago, I attended the original “plant nite”, recently I attended a couple of the new Plant Nite by Yaymaker “plant nite”. It sure has totally gone down-hill – a total waste of time and money and very boring. (Watching paint dry would be more enjoyable.) Terrible selection of supplies (which you pay extra for), and plus either the cacti are almost dead (plants were not watered and they are dying plus they have contracted cactus pests and diseases such as mealy bugs, scale, etc). If you have been to one. Better check it plus your other plants!! Because they can spread. They infected my clean plants worth over $3,000. Thought it was important to protect my neighbors.

Please Note Groupon is not honorable and will not refund you the money you paid for the Groupons! They hose the businesses and the clients. Buyers BEWARE!! They rather keep your money than give it back to you! THEY DO NOT honor their policy of giving your money back. SCAMMERS!! If it sounds too good to be true… Now Groupon is saying hold on to the Groupons to help businesses, they have well over $900 of my money with useless Groupons I can not use. That helps Groupon and sure does not help me… I lost my job....

I ordered a Groupon for a hotel stay that was to happen on April 24th through the 26th of 2020. I purchased this groupon on May 4th 2020. When I originally purchased this groupon the confirmation from the Groupon and the hotel said that as long as I canceled within nine days of the reservation I would receive a full refund. Because of the Coronavirus my reservation was canceled by not only the hotel but by Groupon. The hotel issued me an email saying they were going to refund the amount to my payment. If I did not do anything by April 2nd it would be automatically refunded.

Today April 3rd 2020, I received an email saying that the refund had not been issued to my form of payment, that instead Groupon had decided because of the Coronavirus situation, that they were doing all refunds in the form of Groupon bucks. Groupon bucks can only be used to purchase things from Groupon and nothing else. I contacted Groupon and told them I did not want Groupon bucks. This reservation was for a birthday party obviously we will now have to do something else for this and have no intention of going to the hotel.

Groupon's response was that during the Coronavirus they will only issue refunds to Groupon bucks and nothing else. I'd ask them for a refund again through another customer service agent and again explained that I never chose to get Groupon bucks and then I did not want to use any Groupon services. This was well within the cancellation period that was given to me initially when I made the reservation. Again they denied giving me the refund saying that they had already processed the refund into Groupon bucks and were only doing that at this time.

Updated on 04/08/2020: This will be the second review I will be writing about Groupon for the same transaction. I know that seems redundant but the first review was for their billing practices, this is for the items I received. I wrote the review because honestly I thought that was the height of my discontent with them and I thought others should know how they bill their customers especially in uncertain times like this.

However, today I received my order and almost as if it was done intentionally... they sent me the wrong product. Can you believe it? Now they expect me to repackage this item in packaging that traveled from who knows where, use my own ink to print a return shipping label and then go out in the middle of a pandemic to return this item. I wouldn't have made this purchase if the pandemic wasn't going on, I would have went to a brick and mortar store where none of this nonsense would have happened and honestly despite their discount I would have paid the same price at most stores. I will never use this company again, I will tell all of my friends and family to avoid using them and I hope you avoid using them too. Groupon is taking advantage of a public forced to shop online because of this terrible global crisis and frankly they should be ashamed of themselves.

Original Review: For quite some time I have browsed Groupon, always window shopping hoping to find a great deal with all the tempting promo codes they email daily. I needed some sheet sets and with the Coronavirus pandemic in full swing going to the store wasn't really an option. I decided I would try Groupon because they sent me a coupon code for 50% off. Who could resist that? I found a great sheet set and with the promo code it was a pretty good deal and the code could be applied to two sets. So I dove in and made my first Groupon purchase. The sheets have been delayed, understandably, because of the pandemic and I'm ok with that. But when checking my banking today I noticed a new charge from Groupon.

I was immediately concerned because I hadn't bought anything else and the full purchase price of my one and only purchase was still pending in my account. I contacted Groupon and customer service explained that the first charge of the full purchase price was in fact just a hold to verify my account and that the new charge I was seeing was one half of the full purchase price for one of the sheet sets. She explained that the other set would show up soon and that in 2-3 days the first charge of the full purchase price would be released. Here is the issue, that was 4 days ago that they put the initial hold. So for nearly a week already they've held the funds hostage and now until it's released I'll have double the purchase price pending in my account essentially freezing that money...in the middle of a pandemic!

I have heard of one penny holds and one dollar holds to verify an active account but never a full purchase price hold. Thanks to Groupon's questionable bank charging practices I will now anxiously watch a bank account in hopes nothing overdrafts or anything else weird happens at a time when we're all going through so much already. I have to legally shelter in place, I can't even go deposit cash into my account. What if this purchase had been for hundreds of dollars??? I will never use Groupon again and you shouldn't either.

I purchased a ticket for an event that has been canceled amidst the COVID-19 social gathering restrictions that has affected us all. Groupon acknowledges that they rather keep your money during this time of need rather than return or credit your purchase in these current circumstances that is affecting the world. What a stand up way to show support to humanity. Your greed is real and my loyalty as a customer will remember this always.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS with Groupon. I tried to start a Pressure Cleaning business and tried Groupon. Their customer service rep told me to make my price $75 to get customers. I did that but, the rep failed to tell me that Groupon takes 50% of that $75 which leaves me $37.50 for 5 hours of work and supplies. Horrible company that lies to businesses owners. Telling them that they will get new customers and make a decent amount of money for hours works. I call B.S. on Groupon.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. My friend and I purchased a Groupon for a cooking class on or around the same day and are unable to redeem due to COVID19 closures. My friend contacted Groupon and received a full refund to her credit card. So, I reached out to Groupon to do the same the very next day. I opened a chat with customer service and they told me they could not give me a refund because the Groupon was purchased over 30 days ago (this is true, but so was my friend's). When I asked why she was able to get a refund to her credit card, and I am not, they provided me with no explanation. They just repeated my option to receive Groupon bucks in lieu of my Groupon. When I asked to chat with a manager, they simply said they were unable to do that. When I asked why, they repeated what my options were for Groupon bucks.

I asked several times for an explanation and was given none. They just kept repeating that they could give me Groupon bucks. I emailed the full chat to their email address and received a reply outlining my options for Groupon bucks without addressing or giving an explanation as to why I could not speak to a manager or receive and refund even though they had done so for my friend (completely ignored those issues). When I went into the site to request a call back to actually *speak* to a human being, there is a message that they are unable to fulfill call back requests. It is as though I am communicating with robots (realistically, maybe I *am* dealing with system generated replies). Obviously, I will have to take the Groupon bucks since they are literally giving me no other option.

Even if they gave me the explanation that due to COVID19 they cannot financially absorb the number of refund requests they are receiving and, therefore, have shifted to only giving Groupon bucks, I would understand. But, to completely stonewall me and not allow me to speak to a manager is inexcusable. Groupon just lost a customer.

For those of you that use Groupon USA and Canada be very careful. We had a trip to USA and bought Groupons in USA funds, had to cancel them, they told me I could not get a refund. So I had to take their credits in their credit bank and use them very soon. Since we are not allowed to go to the USA I had to buy something in Canada. They told me that the exchange would be adjusted at the bank, I assume they mean their credit bank on site. I checked my bank card and nothing came through to me there. They only gave me the equivalent of the USA dollar for dollar in Canadian funds. The exchange rate is 36 percent.

I contacted them 4 times and every time it was sorry that is the policy. I told them that is internet robbery, no gun or knife needed. They seem to not know of or care if there is an exchange rate to the USA dollar. They refused me to talk to a supervisor. I have all the chats on file. OH they finally offered me a credit into their bank again of $10 and you know that means I have to buy something and it would cost me more.

My daughter received a promo email from Groupon for a 60% discount voucher for a purchase with 3D Crystal USA. She purchased the voucher for $64 and used it to purchase a 3D crystal for me for Christmas. The worst experience! She ordered this 12/13/19 and it was supposed to be delivered by 12/20/19. Long story short, it sat in Florida for 10 days before being bounced around between Texas, Louisiana, some addresses in Arizona, back to Texas, then finally arriving back in Florida 1/17/20, 35 days later. The shipper apparently put the wrong address on our package and we tried to get it straight with him, but no response so we initiated an investigation with Groupon.

Groupon took 15 days, from 12/23/19 - 1/8/20, to finally say that the shipper would contact us in 5 business days; which he didn't until 2/13/20 and agreed to giving us our credit for his portion of the order. Before that we tried to get it fixed with UPS, and had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau's arbitration department, as well as with our bank because this began to look like a scam. The shipper doesn't have any phone number or any reliable contact info via Groupon or on the internet.

The bank gave us a temporary credit because we never got the merchandise then Groupon had the nerve to dispute this and try and charge us for the voucher, which was a voucher that was specific for 3D Crystal... the place that didn't give us our product! They claim that the voucher wasn't "redeemed", but our order copy shows the voucher number along with the discount applied from it. I will never use Groupon again and I will be sure to continue to share this experience.

I reported Groupon to the Better Business Bureau. I am still arguing back and forth with them through the BBB but basically they are useless, won't take responsibility to correct the problem, keep your money, and horrible customer service!!! This is my story: I have several Groupon vouchers, I didn’t use and I want to trade them in for Groupon Bucks. This will allow me to use the money I paid on something else. Groupon’s so called customer service is a joke, l’ve emailed, tried to call and get a recording with no option to talk to a live person. Groupon has marked several vouchers used which I never used and some say they were refunded which never happened.

I feel they are keeping my money for services I didn’t use or have expired. Groupon states you can redeem expired vouchers for what you paid to buy something else. They make it virtually impossible for me to get my money credited to my account. I am sure many people give up trying and Groupon wins and scams you out of your money. DO NOT USE GROUPON!!!

    Merchant Name: Groupon
    Date of Transaction: 12/27/2019

    Disputed Amount: $674.82

    To Whom it may concern:

On 12/27/19 I called Groupon customer service to determine whether two rooms would be available at the Mountain View Grand Hotel on two particular nights, I was advised by their customer service that they could not determine whether the rooms were available for two consecutive nights and advised me to on-line book the first night then book then second night, when I did that it, while I was on the phone with Groupon’s customer service, I was advised that there were no more rooms available for the second night, at which point, the customer service person processed the cancellation immediately. This cancellation was within a minute or two of me booking the first night. It is clearly Groupon’s inability to transact a cancellation quickly enough. After numerous calls and emails, further discussions with management, Nathi **, on January 6, 2020, I was advised that Groupon was so backed up with customer service issues and that is why the cancellation was not put through quickly enough, meanwhile the date of stay had come and gone.

It is also important to note that while I was on the phone with Groupon, there were 3 individuals in the same room with me that heard the entire conversation and that Groupon’s customer service advised me to book the room.

I followed exact instructions from Groupon’s customer service. They should have never advised me to book the first night without knowing whether the second night was available, and clearly the fact that the cancellation was entered minutes after the first booking, it indicates proof of my statements above. It seems that the documentation that Groupon provided Capital One only shows their cancellation policy but it neglects to show all the details which they must have record of.

The Groupon site says that the original value of the Groupon is valid. What happens when the place closes down and you don't use your Groupon? You lose the whole value! This is such a rip off technique! I hope Groupon is on its way out because the customer should NEVER be out the money they paid. I understand that the promotional offer isn't valid but at least the paid amount should be, as promised. I will NEVER buy from Groupon again and make it my campaign to tell others.

I own a Hatchet throwing and escape room venue in Middletown DE. We utilized Groupon for a loss leader in our first year to develop awareness. In November 2019 we decided to end the deal as Groupon was selling at 1/2 price and we were only getting about half of that. Each coupon actually cost us to honor. A necessary evil when building brand awareness. We emailed our account rep and Groupon customer service on Nov 30 2019 to cancel all coupon deals immediately. This can take 7 days. It’s now January 21 2020 and they still haven’t taken it down. I’ve emailed them 6 more times to no avail.

I’m having the let customers know The Groupon they purchased is no good and they have to contact Groupon and get their money back. And to keep from loosing them as unhappy customers sell them reservations at half price. I’ve had to engage an attorney the send a legal demand letter. That’s going to cost several thousand by itself. And consumers of Groupon coupons should be aware that vendors are being abused by this market giant and there’s nothing we can do without spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to fight them. Groupon doesn’t care about merchants or consumers. Just making money. That’s the bottom line.

I began a live chat and was told that I would be able to do that as I went thru the checkout process. So I did check out but was never able to enter the code and was charged the full price. I then went to Groupon's Customer Service and began another chat to explain what happened. All they could offer me was $25 in Groupon bucks, to be applied to my next purchase (the 25% off amount that I did not get was $42.50). They said I could not cancel and rebuy because the fine print says "one per person". I am very dissatisfied with this resolution. Beware.

I have used Groupon several times before and all without issue until this recent event, which is about as bad as it gets. Dec 10, 2019 - I receive a promotional email from Groupon advertising an item that my wife wanted for Christmas. Normal retail is about $175. Groupon deal was $99. Dec 12, 2019 - Although 2 other retailers were offering the item at a similar price, I purchased from Groupon. The advertisement said that it would ship within "2 days". There was a hope it would arrive before Christmas. Dec 22, 2019 - I had not yet received notification that the item had shipped, and being close to Christmas I contacted the Groupon customer service. I was told that the item had not shipped (duh) and that I would be notified when it did. Oh well. I told the wife that she would get it after Christmas. She wasn't too upset, but that is not where the story ends.

Jan 3, 2020 - I still had not received notice that the item had shipped. I contacte4d Groupon CS again and it took them 6 days to respond. Jan 9, 2020 - I was informed by Groupon CS, that the item I order on Dec 12, 2019 had been over-sold, that they did not have any in stock and maybe never did. Furthermore, I was TOLD THAT I WOULD BE REFUNDED IN "GROUPON BUCKS" WHICH WOULD EXPIRE IN 6 MONTHS.

A Christmas ruined, I missed out on being able to purchase the item from another retailer at the discounted price, and nobody can tell me that the deal was a hoax for 30 days??? And I don't even get my money back!??? Really? Why don't you shoot my dog while you're at it, Groupon! In my reply email I demanded to be refunded in USD by today or else the online reviews would begin. As you can see, their second response today was the same. - They are still trying to give me "Groupon Bucks" that will expire in 6 months.

Groupon had an advertisement for what is known as float therapy. The advertisement gave you the option to purchase one two or three sessions. However at the very bottom of the advertisement is the title fine print, which I did not fully understand. The fine print states only one voucher per person. However, the fine print did not explain is that the purchase of the item or only one of the three purchases. I tried to get a hold of their customer service in order to obtain clarification. It was very hard to get to customer service. I ended up having to write an email. I asked if this was for only one of the three sessions to please and if so Cancel my order as I was still within the timeframe that I could do this.

However the folks at Groupon as of today still have not responded to my email which was sent five days ago. When I sent the email I received a reply that stated I would be responded to within 24 hours. This would still have me in the timeframe so I could cancel this purchase in case the explanation stated I could only use one of the three purchased vice the option that the one per person meant the entire purchase. When I went to the place that was advertised I asked them a question and they informed me I could only use one of the three I purchased. Since the folks at Groupon‘s customer service never responded to me I am now out of the timeframe to have this canceled. So here I am out of 56.00. I figured I would at least use One purchase It cost me 84.00, it would have been cheaper to purchase the session out of pocket.

So I say be very cautious when you make a purchase through Groupon. Be sure to have the fine print explained to you prior to your purchase. Because the folks at customer service are horrible and the explanation on the website does not provide a full fine print definition. Also, please do not blame the company you purchased from through Groupon as they are most of the time unaware of the situation. THESE FOLKS WERE IN THE DARK. THE COMPANY IS WONDERFUL. JUST BE CAREFUL OF GROUPON.

The short of is that after me, my 2 guests and the waitress none of us could get the Groupon App to work. We kept getting an error message that the server was down. Besides embarrassing the voucher to work it also a financial loss as I will not be able to go back to the restaurant before it expires.

Once I got home I contacted Customer Service and their solution was to issue me credit so I could make another purchase now or at a later date or they could go back to the restaurant to see if they would extend the expiration date. That would take 14 business with no guarantee of the extension approval. Well, why would I accept a credit to make another purchase when the problem was Groupon's Server. Or secondly, risk the extension not being accepted again when the problem was the Groupon Server! When the use of the Groupon was restricted because of the Groupon Server not operating. Frustrating and a shameful way to lose Customers and Clients (Business) quickly by not accepting responsibility for your process problems. So buyers choose wisely before buying from Groupon.

But unlike most other subscriptions, Groupon doesn't have the honesty to send you a monthly receipt or bill email notifying you when your card is charged. I always find that a low brow and shady way of doing business. Finally, when you do catch the membership charge while reviewing your statements, cancelling membership is not straightforward. I couldn't easily find where to do it in the Groupon app, if it's possible to do in-app at all. Even on the desktop browser version of the site, I had to dig for a bit. Either the Groupon web team stinks at UI (doubtful) or it's deliberately designed to be obscured/inconvenient. That always rubs me the wrong way. I ordered two products and then realized that the color was wrong. All I wanted to do was change the color but there was no way for me to do that when it said I could edit my order. I had to cancel the whole order with intention of reordering it correctly. The minute that I pressed the submit button the money was on hold in my checking account so I could not reorder it as it would have attached to my account twice. I contacted customer support and was told that the money would be released in 2 to 3 business days. It is two weeks before Christmas and I need the money. It just strikes me as disgusting how they could take the money in a matter of minutes but take 2 to 3 days to release it back on my account.

On Friday, in a room full of people, we were looking at things to do this weekend on our phones. I saw Gaylord Ice! Exhibit at National Harbor. I wanted to check out the cost for 7 of us so when I picked 7 tickets to see it just purchased them, it didn't even ask to verify card or anything, just wham, a purchase. I of course freaked out. I just wanted to see the price, so I chat with Groupon. They say, "Nope sorry, money is ours now" and the Supervisor even hinted that I was lying about the automatic purchase. I wrote to the BBB and complained, same response. Contacted my bank at the same time I was on Groupon chat and told them they were refusing to refund, All this within minutes of the charge! Bank said they filed a dispute and canceled my card. Never again, Groupon.

Customers buy a voucher but don’t contact us for booking and we have no contact info at least a number to find out when they want to book and they end up expiring soon and groupon is so in on their word of keeping every info of the customer secret. I’ve never heard of this craziness. I will not recommended anybody with this service with groupon until they update their mess here.

I wanted my actual cash back on my card. Informed me they would review my claim and contact me in 8 hrs. That didn't happened.

I contacted them at 9:10am 12/5/19. They called as I'm writing this review still telling me that I can use MY MONEY on their site. Groupon stole my money and won't give it back. Please be aware of their practices. I will never purchase anything from Groupon and no one else will.... I am unemployed and need all money to take care of my family. Thought I unsubscribed from their site in 2017 when they stole $60 from me and had to refund my money. Now they took more. Please be CAREFUL.

Groupon has now managed to seriously disrupt my plans and my personal finances twice in the last two months. I booked a hotel through their website this past October but upon arrival, the establishment had NO RECORD of my reservation. They almost weren't able to get us a room but finally found us accommodations contingent on receiving an email from Groupon by the end of that day. Then, our car was broken into while parked in the hotel's lot so the manager issued us a full refund and emailed Groupon to confirm this promise. Groupon not only didn't respond to the hotel manager's email, but they also ignored me and my husband's emails for roughly 3 weeks.

We called customer service numerous times and sent emails to no avail...no response from anyone. After threatening a lawsuit for holding on to our funds, I finally received a response telling me I would get "Groupon Bucks" in the same amount of my hotel stay. Unacceptable! It then took another WEEK to get my money back. One month in total to get less than $200 dollars restored to my account.

Second incident happened this past Monday the 2nd. My husband and I had an eGift card for Groupon (gift from a family member) and decided to use for yet another hotel stay (should have known it would get screwed up). After successfully booking the room through Groupon's site and inputting the e gift card number and pin, we received a confirmation email saying we were all set. However, this morning I thought it wise to call the hotel directly and confirm our stay. Glad I did, because once again, the hotel had no record of our reservation and when pulling up the confirmation on Groupon to fetch the reference number, Groupon had canceled our stay without letting us know. No email, no phone call...nothing. If not for us deciding to double check on our own volition, we would have showed up this Friday with nowhere to stay.

I am flabbergasted by Groupon's treatment of their customers and have tried unsuccessfully to contact corporate multiple times. I want my egift card converted to cash as I will never use this site and not a single person I spoke to would authorize this. So Groupon, if you're reading this, please do the right thing. Give me my money and allow me to leave your clutches with at least ONE positive experience.

We booked this holiday through Groupon, as a tour package called 777.. actual COST $777 each X3. We live in Sydney, but booked Melbourne to China, even though we'd have to pay for domestic flights too, as Sydney was sold out, but we thought it'd be worth it as the deal was so cheap. We contacted SNA many times to find out the actual day the flight leaves. Always they said, "We're not Sure probably 7th or 8th November." Finally we get confirmation after months of calling, that the flight is on the 8th Nov, and flights always leave in the afternoon around 4 to 5 pm so you'd be safe to get there about 12-1pm.

Many times we asked SNA to send confirmation of tickets to both adults emails we originally gave, as the phone with one of the email addresses is shattered, and we're locked out of the email, as we don't have email password nor original phone number. They continuously ignored our request to do so. After they confirmed the flights for 8th Nov in July /Aug, we booked flights Melbourne, for the 7th.. and hotel. Two months after they confirmed the flights for 8th Nov, a women from SNA, called me in Sept, and said, "sorry, your travel dates have been changed for the 7th of November." I started bawling my eyes out, crying "but you told us that it's definitely the 8th of Nov, and we've already booked domestic flights to Melbourne for the 7th, and hotel.."

Eventually she got back and said, "yes it's ok. Your flights are now confirmed for the 8th again." I asked, "Where is the tickets? I've given you the correct email address 6 times, still we received nothing." That's when I really started to panic and called groupon, in October, telling them of the situation, how I feel they can't be trusted, changing dates and ignoring both our request for plane tickets etc to be sent to correct email.. Groupon didn't care less, stating the vouchers had been redeemed in August already by merchant, no refund allowed. This is where it gets really ugly...

The morning of the 8th Nov, I called SNA from the Melbourne Hotel, panicking, pleading, "where's our tickets, we've still not received them." He said, "your flights have just left, 9am." I cried, "We were told the flight leaves around 4-5pm!" He said, "your tickets were sent to you via email, in October.." I started bawling, "nooo you didn't send them. I don't have them. You've made a mistake, and the flights we were told always leave in the afternoon, around 4-5 pm latest." He asked, "Who told you this?" I told him his name, and stated "he even said he confirmed with a supervisor". He argued, "no he didn't.." A woman then took my call and told us to go straight to the airport and explain what happened to the airline, China Southern Airlines..

When we got to the airline, we were told by the manager of China Southern, "we can't help you. It's our policy, no show no go. We can't arrange another flight, even if there are vacant seats because, it's against our policy. Call the travel agency.." By now we are all bawling our eyes out, trying to explain what SNA had done, but this Chinese man was so cold he didn't CARE, continuing to tell us, "I can't help!". The agency called back. He, the supervisor said, "You're just trying to blame someone. The tickets were sent your email address in October..." I had a nervous breakdown,, then and there, and kept repeating, "But you didn't send them to the correct email address if you even sent them at all." He then hung up.

My young son was on the floor bawling his eyes out.. A help desk referred us to a team of 2 who worked for airport, who help people in crises, to negotiate on their behalf with airlines... But they said China Southern are worst to deal with, ruthless, and have left the office. They then organised for Jetstar to change our return flight to Sydney ASAP.

Next flight avail was following day, 12.30 pm. We slept at airport overnight, 30 hours waiting to get home, from a trip to nowhere, all of us devastated. Total cost lost, $6000+. Visas, passports, hotel, domestic flights, taxis to and from airports, and over 2300 lost through groupon. I can't believe I trusted them after already one bad experience with a merchant's false advertisement in groupon, which they refused to remove from their site even after I show them evidence of this illegal advertisement.

Don't trust them, groupon, nor the merchant SNA... when groupon were notified, they asked for details of Events, total expenses lost, dockets etc, to be sent via email to groupon customer support, but before I had the chance to send anything they sent an email saying, "Not our responsibility. Take it up with merchant. Your tickets were already redeemed in August this year." When I asked groupon, "why didn't you wait for details of events like you asked?", they sent practically the same previous email.. When I then threatened to go to media or lawyer, they replied, "go to third party, we'll tell them the same thing." We've all been so depressed for three weeks now, as we saved for this trip for years and lost it all. We feel totally scammed by groupon for ruining what was meant to be, the holiday of a lifetime for my small family.

I purchased a Groupon for $35 a couple years ago to a place called Sparadise in Hollywood. When I tried to redeem the voucher, Sparadise made it almost impossible to redeem by not answering the phone or responding to my messages to schedule. Weeks later I finally got a hold of someone. Told me I would have to pay an additional $20 fee to use the Groupon. Nowhere in the fine print does it state this on the voucher or on the Sparadise website. I was pretty upset from the entire ordeal and decided that I didn't want to visit a business that operated this way and called Groupon to ask for a refund. Groupon repeated over and over that they didn't know why the business would say that and refused to issue me an account credit or any kind of refund. They said I would need to deal with Sparadise and that the voucher value of $35 could still be used toward a service.

Fast forward to now I decided maybe management changed and maybe I could now get my $35 towards a massage. I called Sparadise again and now the price of the massage was more than what was advertised on their website and if I wanted to use the value of my voucher it would cost me $20 extra. There is no customer service line to call as Groupon has now gone all online. I can't believe this is so difficult and I feel ripped off, Groupon and this business basically stole $35 from me as the value of this voucher is now worth nothing.

As I live in Canada, and was booking a Canadian attraction I was unaware that the so called deal was in US dollars. Even upon purchasing the tickets the currency was not listed beside the price. HOW a company can charge you in a different currency and thus not be forthcoming about the true price of something is an absolute scam.

I called Groupon right away to try to sort it out but they just kept telling me no refunds. I was not trying to refund anything, I was just trying to pay the true price of what I thought I was purchasing. Disappointed that I found something I like in Groupon, and I was not able to log in at first. Contact customer service and they reactivated my account. I log in and was about to make a purchase when I notice my gift cards were gone. I contact service rep and they said that my gift card expire. The customer service rep was not able to help me with that issue. She said that my gift cards expire 10/31/19, because my account was inactive (meaning that I had not made a purchase). I mention to the customer service rep it would be nice for them, to let us customer know. The only thing she said to me was sorry for the inconvenience.

Clearly the gift card said that it never expire. One of my reason for not buying as often as before is because I made some purchase and I received the wrong order. I didn’t make a big deal because the clothes that I bought fit me but they never send the right color. I didn’t want to go thru all the trouble of returning items so I just kept the items. The other purchase I had was with a 65 in tv where I made the purchase and they took about a week or two to let me know that they were not in stock. Saw the deal again and I made purchase on a 65 inch tv and the same thing, not in stock and took about two weeks weeks to let me know.

Other than that I never had a problem with Groupon. I usually add all my gift cards to my profile as I get them. And use them if I see a deal. Good thing I didn’t let them accumulate, usually I let them pile up so I could make a big purchase. Just want to warn customers of Groupon of this problem. I log in every two week to see if I found a deal, so my account was not really inactive. But after a year of not making a purchase they are going to deactivate a account. It would be nice to let customer know, I lost about 35$ but it could of been worse. So I am not that upset, I just don’t think I am going to purchase there no more.

GROUPON Officially Becomes a Scam Company. Recently I purchased a 4 tier clothing drying rack from Groupon with the expected that the item would not only be in new condition, but would actually last me and my family for a while. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Even with my low expectations, this now scam company we call Groupon has found a way to come in way below my expectations and lie and cheat me out of my money.

Initially when I had reached out to "customer service" I got a nice and friendly response which offered 2 options; 1. Full refund, 2. Replacement if I send the item back. I responded with a simple question asking if they would provide a box for me to return it in as the item is large and they don't sell boxes that size at local stores. The rep proceeded to then initiate a replacement without my authorization, which then the person told me they couldn't undo even though I didn't authorize it and requested a full refund.

Since then the company has been stonewalling and ignoring all my messages and my patience has been taken advantage of, my family and I have been taken advantage of and we cannot stand for it. Groupon has completely descended into the depths of a shady organization and into a full-out scam. This is one of the many reasons they're plummeting into bankruptcy and quite frankly they deserve it with shady practices like these. It's a shame the few good people they have there are overwhelmed by the corrupt and incompetent majority that work there.

Additionally you have to physically show up at a designated TSA office to complete which I can not do in the time frame allotted. Since I already downloaded the voucher they would not give me refund. They are currently reviewing my case and I will update once they respond.

I purchased two "getaways" through Groupon and although the stays themselves were great and Groupon prices were good, I was 100 percent completely unable to get ANY customer service with questions I had about my purchases. Both kept showing up as "processing" and I never received the email confirmation I was told I would receive. There is a 1-800 number listed as customer service but it's just a recording telling you to use groupon.com/support. And so when I tried going to that website even though I wanted to actually speak to a human being, I was still unable to communicate with someone to get my questions answered. This was mainly because when you go to the website you need to select a category or type in keywords to get help. None of the categories fitted my question and every key word I typed didn't give me any option to get my questions answered.

Considering both my purchases were "getaways" and one was an all-inclusive getaway, I had paid a substantial amount of money ($898 between the 2 places combined) to not be able to actually speak with a human being. So although I enjoyed my trips, I will not be using groupon for future purchases because something can be said for a company that has such crappy (or non-existent) customer service!!

Groupon is the biggest ripoff of life, and I will absolutely never use them again. I purchased an event while traveling. I searched "Seattle Space Needle", which brought up 1 result. Not being from the area, I literally knew nothing about this place, and everything advertised on their Groupon was that it was the "Skyview Observatory". Again, knowing nothing about this, since I'm TRAVELING, I thought this was what I needed, purchased the groupon, TRAVELED TO THE DESTINATION by public transit, only to find out that it was in fact that for the Space Needle, it was for somewhere at the opposite end of the town.

Not having a vehicle, and having to utilize public transit, and being close to closing time, I tried to refund my voucher. After struggling immensely trying to figure out how to even REACH anyone at this sham of a place, I found out that you cannot reach a live person to talk to you, you must email or live chat (extremely unhelpful) to be told that this was a final voucher, and will not provide any refunds. I asked to speak with a manager and was told on this chat "you can email us at XX to request a email back" and the chat immediately ended. So here I am, out of money from the piece of crap voucher AND had to then buy the actual Space Needle ticket to visit the venue I actually wanted!! DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE!!!

First of all, you should never buy Universal Studios tickets through Groupon; it's not any cheaper than buying directly through the Universal Studios' website. Secondly, despite what the lame Groupon customer service reps say, the ticket you buy through Groupon is a 3rd party vendor purchase that Universal Studios has no control of what so ever. Thirdly, the voucher has expiration date, and when it expires, you lose the value completely. Lastly, the customer service from Groupon is not helpful at all. They simply copy and paste fine prints in their response and basically saying "you're screwed" and you will not get your money back. To be fair, I have used Groupon for a while and have realized some good savings. However, I would say don't buy any amusement park tickets there. Upon arriving, the front desk worker automatically noted it would be an additional $10 fee for length/volume. I was disappointed, but in a time crunch, so I ultimately agreed.

After my shampoo, I was told that actually, in fact, it would be a $20 fee, as the per the stylist who would be working on me. The original Groupon was $32, so the extra $20 was nearly 2x the price I had been planning to pay. The vendor assured me that Groupon would compensate the charge. They wrote me a letter and told me to submit it to customer service who would assist. And so, I did.

Customer service offered me a $7 credit to future purchases. After back and forth, I was told that Groupon has a disclaimer stating all prices are subject to change. There is no phone number - just an online chat with people who do not seem to be empowered to fully remedy situations and often just default to template responses about appreciating feedback. Customer Service - This phrase is completely unknown to Groupon. I must admit that I have liked a lot of the products and tickets that I have purchased, HOWEVER, the issue that I have with Groupon is 'customer service' is non-existent with this organization. I purchased 2 tickets to a show in downtown PGH. The redemption instructions said to go to the Box Office starting on 8/29 or the day of the show to redeem the Groupon for a show on 9/15. Which I did-went to the box office on 8/29, but the Box Office tells me that for Groupon - you are supposed to pick up the tickets on the day of the show.

When I contacted 'customer service' (by the way - they don't even have a phone number to contact someone - ONLY email or live chat) ALL I got from them was 'I'm sorry you had this issue.' and 'Why didn't you call the box office beforehand?' and 'What do you want me to do for you?' and 'We don't issue credit!' and 'It also says on the day of the show!'

Apparently their 'customer service' does not know how to service the customer. As I stated previously, I have liked a lot of the products and tickets that I purchased, but am seriously considering staying WAY CLEAR of Groupon until they figure out what 'customer service' means. If you couldn't redeem the Groupon for your tickets starting on 8/29 then you shouldn't have put in the redemption instructions starting on 8/29 OR the day of the show. It should have read 'on the day of the show!' This way, people would not only NOT be inconvenienced they would also NOT spend a lot of money to be inconvenienced...

Purchase Of: Marco Vitale Men's Driving Loafers. I stumbled onto a site, Groupon, while I was in the United States on vacation and practically fell in love with it because of the wide variety of offerings that they had at the time. Unfortunately however, or rather, fortunately (due to recent events), I didn't get around to making any purchases while in the States. After returning to my home country, Jamaica W.I, I decided that I was going to give them a try. But I realized that they only shipped within the US and to Canada (If there are other locations that I overlooked, apologies) so I had to put the purchase on hold until I was able to locate a customs broker who had a warehouse in the US to facilitate shopping on Groupon's site. After finding one, I was so ecstatic. I scoured the entire site almost, loading up my cart. I went so overboard that the site prevented me from adding more stuff to my cart after a while.

At that point, I realized that it was the big moment, check out time. But for obvious reasons, I was overwhelmed by anxiety because of the thought, "What if this goes wrong?" Particularly because of all the bad reviews that I came across for the other sites that I heard about around the same time I did Groupon. I won't make any direct reference to them, because I have no personal experience with them. But the whole thing weighed on me for a while. After pacing back and forth in my mind for a few days, I decided to soldier on and make my first set of purchases to test out the site. I decided on shoes, and ended up buying three pairs. After checkout, I got my confirmation and thought all would be fine and dandy from there. But it wasn't. They mixed up my one of my orders and set in motion a chain of events that would ruin my entire month. You're probably thinking I'm just being overly dramatic, but I'm not.

Now, let's re-cap. I live in Jamaica W.I, and had to use a customs broker, (which I use every week basically to get my Amazon orders to my home in Jamaica W.I) which charged a small fee for their service. Now, that was the first event because I had to pay to collect the wrong item. The next event was driving around for a week, frantically trying to find somewhere to return the order. Petrol for all that cost me a pretty penny. The last event, was having to accept that the return label that they sent me, which was to waive the cost of shipping the shoes back to Groupon's warehouse, was totally useless here in Jamaica. Now, I wrote to the company to explain what happened before and after the shoes were sent back, and I have to say, it was by far the worst customer service that I have ever received in my life. Never before have I witnessed first hand such scant regard for a customer.

No one cared that this was Groupon's fault, or about the difficulties that I was facing with getting the item back to them. No one cared at all. I was indeed a retail horror story. Everyone's worst fears when shopping online. I couldn't even call because I wasn't in the country. All I could do was write them. Well, I could've called, but I wasn't going to add those int'l phone bill charges to the mounting costs that were accumulating as a result of this mishap. Because I learned quickly that I was not going to be reimbursed for any of it. Which in my humble opinion is rather unfair, because they created this situation by sending the wrong item to me. Anyway, I feel like I've been going on forever, so I'll conclude this by saying, buyers beware and take heed, lest you end up like me.

Now, I'm sure many of you won't end up in a similar predicament because you're in the US or Canada. But for those outside the US and Canada, who are using similar methods like me (customs brokers to get items to you), just know that there's a strong possibility that you're going to get screwed. And Groupon won't assume responsibility for your shipping charges or any other charges that you incurred as a result of their incompetence, nor will they even try to throw you a bone to pacify the situation. And that's completely messed up, because I spent approx $28 in shipping unnecessarily, bringing my total to approx $57.99.

All this because Groupon sent me what I didn't ordered and forced me to jump through hopes to return the item before explaining that I'd have to absorb all charges that I incurred. So I essentially paid $57.99 for air. I can't even get someone to reply to me about my refund of $29.99 and the shoes have been with them since August 22, 2019. So, just be careful with Groupon. They're not customer oriented or at all what they're cut out to be.

I recently bought a. “Grade A” refurbished Apple MacBook Air computer through Groupon. The computer on the outside looked great, practically brand new. Within 2 months the computer completely stopped working. We called Apple to see if they could help us. We went through their protocol to try to restart it, still nothing. Next, we took it to Apple and they checked to see if it was a battery issue. Nope, not the battery! Apple says that for them to look at it, it will be a charge of $495, after that, whatever costs in addition to that flat rate will be added. The guy at Apple said that he thinks it’s probably the processor, but won’t know until they look at it in more detail.

I contacted Groupon and got an automated response that was no help, next, I contacted “Apple R Us” one of the companies Groupon uses for these refurbished computers, after a good deal of back and forth this company says it’s not from them! (I believe them). They give me an email for Groupon so I send another email, alas, big surprise, the email address no longer exists! Finally, I do track down Groupon and get one sentence “it’s past the 30 day window to return". I had clearly asked if I could exchange the computer, or if they can suggest another resolution, but nope, nothing. I will never buy from Groupon again. You can’t talk to a real person!

Instead you proceeded to refund me in "Groupon Bucks", which I won't use as I no longer will be shopping at the site due to the terrible customer experiences I've had.

All other nearby hotels were booked up and we had to take the only vacancy available as it was 11 pm and we had just driven 5+ hours after having worked all day. Tired and frustrated by the fact that we had no way of contacting anyone with any authority to remedy the situation on a weekend, our “fun weekend away” turned into a nightmare weekend that we just wanted to end. When I was finally able to contact customer service, I was told that after three days they had still not been in contact with the hotel regarding my issue. The second time I contacted customer service by phone was the second time that they were more interested in selling me something than resolving my issue.

The original thing they had sold me proved to be nothing! I trusted that by accepting my payment and sending me “confirmation”, Groupon had done their part to ensure that my reservation was iron clad. Failure to do so was either lazy or fraudulent. Either of these scenarios is unacceptable! A modicum of integrity on your part would dictate that in addition to refunding my money (not in “Groupon bucks”) you would also reimburse the additional $117 that I would otherwise not have spent. If this is a rare occurrence, your reputation would be worth it. If not, I can only wonder how many people you have already and will continue to defraud before you go out of business entirely.

Those two are the only ones I will likely receive.

Lesson learned. My credit card is now removed. I won’t likely receive the one item I knew I wanted. I was told by one shipper that Groupon could call and re-route the package but Groupon refused even after I gave them the phone number and order number. I wish I could give zero stars. It took several attempts to even find someone in the Customer Service Dept that understood what had happened but in the end, not able to provide any compensation. I purchase from a number of US companies and have not come across one that does not indicate that the pricing is in US dollars (especially on the payment page). I think it is very misleading for Canadians who use Groupon. Hope others read this and shop elsewhere for their discounted attraction tickets.

Hi, I bought a Groupon voucher two years ago and whenever I tried using it the business owner keeps informing me that he is closed for this year and I will be able to use my voucher next year and so on. This year the business owner confirmed that he is closed permanently and I need to get back to Groupon to get my money back since he only gets his money when the voucher is scanned at his premises.

I contacted Groupon and they refused to give me Groupon credit or my money back claiming that the voucher has been expired. Since the first year I tried to get my money back but Groupon said they can't refund unless the business is closed permanently (that wasn't the case the first year) but now I got the confirmation from the business owner himself and I sent them the conversation proof. In brief, Groupon took 129 dollars and gave me nothing and they are stubborn and don't care about their customers at all. Trust me, stay away. It is a complete fraud. Thanks.

I recently purchased a Groupon for C$90 worth of Photobook Canada photobooks. I completed 2 photobooks, and attempted to use the Groupon voucher to pay. Photobook Canada would only accept the voucher for 1 photobook, which was far less than the total value of the Groupon. When I called customer support, they were very unhelpful, despite me reading to them what the Groupon stated. They suggested I call Groupon. WELL!!!! What a lot of frustration! First of all, it is very difficult to find any link to directly contacting Groupon. When I did finally find a contact, my choice was a "live chat" or request a phone call. The groupon site indicated there was no one available for a live chat, so I requested a phone call. The site suggested approx. 1 hour window for call back.

I waited by the phone, but received an email about 50 minutes later saying they had tried to call but couldn't reach me! I immediately emailed back stating I was by the phone, and there had been no ring. I re-confirmed my phone number and requested a call back. That was 6 hours ago. There has been no further contact from Groupon. Because my photobook projects were time-sensitive, I have been forced to use the groupon for 1 project, leaving a balance of approx. $35 unused. While I am not happy with Photobook's response, I am deeply dissatisfied with Groupon's "Customer Support". My advice to anyone else trying to use Groupon, is make sure before you buy that you won't need any customer support!!!

I booked a Ramada Inn by Wyndham in Pigeon, Forge, TN. The motel was run down and dirty. There was feces on a towel, blood on the bedding, hair in the shower, spiders on the walls, ripped bedding, etc. I was told by the hotel staff that they could not refund my money because I booked through Groupon/Expedia (didn't realize Expedia was involved when I booked).

I've contacted Groupon multiple times and still no response on a refund, just that "they're checking into it." The hotel has since been sold, although I was able to tack down the manager because they own other properties in Pigeon Forge. I've passed this information on to Groupon and still no response. Very disappointing experience and not what you would expect for $150 room.

If you need assistance from Groupon, be prepared for disappointment. I purchased auto detailing from a mobile service, then couldn’t get the company to return my calls or emails. Groupon’s customer service has dwindled to practically nonexistent. Finding a way to contact Groupon on their app is way too difficult, while the small print is amazingly comprehensive. I contacted Groupon, hoping that they would at least stand behind their customers where a business refused to even try to honor the deal purchased through Groupon. No such luck. It seems Groupon has turned from good deal into take the money and run.

I was told "our system is slow, wait 24 hours". I got an email immediately asking how customer service was, but two days later I still had no activation code. I have contacted PayPal to cancel the payment and will NEVER USE THIS RIPOFF company again! BUYER BEWARE!

OHHHH I received it Today! Print all the way up the tank top. Way way way too big for a large. Can't get ahold of customer service. Oh and it's cheaper today than what I paid for. Thanks for PJs! Which is not what it was for! I took my card off and deleted their app.

I purchased a Groupon for auto detailing in 11/2017. Due to an illness I never got to use it, overtime I forgot about it. Today I did live chat with Joel **, I asked what happens when this occurs and I was told it was redeemed. I explained I didn't use it due to illness. I asked Joel ** from live chat how can this happen and he said, "Sorry I can't help you." I take full responsibility for allowing the Groupon to lapse but I would have appreciated a little guidance into what I could do to figure out where my $100 went. I will not purchase from Groupon again due to their poor customer service.

On July 11th I purchased a Real Estate Express Package. The redeem code did not work. I contacted Groupon and they were suppose to call in 24 hours. I contacted them and they traded my package for a package with yet another invalid code. I was then referred to call Real Estate Express who's office is closed on the weekend. When they traded my package in that I paid $299 for the new package was $275 so I was left with a credit for $24 Groupon bucks.

Now I'm still out of money, no package and having to still wait to have the issue resolved. The customer service for Groupon is lacking however as they can provide no resolution to the issues at hand. I'm still waiting for my correct code or to talk to Real Estate Express. If the Groupon representative had of stated call Real Estate Express on Thursday, I could have called on Friday. My plan was to start my course over the weekend and planned my weekend around my class now, I have to wait until 14-72 hours for Groupon to attempt to resolve the issue.

I ordered a bunk bed with trundle from Groupon on July 7th. It was shipped out several days later with no issue. The issue came on July 12th when they sent me an email that stated they messed up and the price I paid was correct but it was for the trundle and did not include the bunk bed. They are sorry for any inconvenience and I can request a return shipping label. After spending an eternity trying to contact someone to tell them this is unacceptable I kept getting the run around. I had to send them my original confirmation email to show them what I ordered.

That email still didn’t matter. They were not going to honor what I ordered but I could get 39.00 in Groupon bunks. I received the trundle today and called for a return label and was told the item was non refundable. I explained what happened for the 3rd time and was put on hold. The rep finally came back on and said they did see the proof I sent and they are sorry. They will escalate the call to the good department so they can send me a return label. He would send me one himself but his system does not allow that since it was sold as an non refundable item. Now I wait for the goods department to contact me so I can get the label so I can get my money back.

I purchased a voucher for a full set of eyelashes. I had a baby and with my new responsibilities, I forgot about the purchase. The Groupon expired, but according to the website, I could still use the amount I paid to go towards a service. I contacted the merchant and was told that the amount paid would not be honored because Groupon never paid her any money. I reached out to Groupon's customer service. I was told that they would credit me for half of what I paid for the service. I informed them that this information is not listed on their website policy. I was told to take it or leave it. The customer service supervisor even threatened to hang up on me because I told him that they were ripping me off. He tried to make it seem that I was out of control and was doing something wrong by asking for a full credit instead of the half being offered.

I didn't ask to receive any physical money, but I did want to receive a full credit to purchase other goods on Groupons. Please be aware even though the site says that you can still use the amount you paid, even if the voucher expires. It doesn't say what they will do if the merchant refuses to work with you. Groupon just uses that line to dupe you into feeling secure about your purchase. Robbed.

After I received the error, I checked my account and no Groupon showing available. I kept trying to order (multiple times) and always received the error. I was getting frustrated but it finally went through. Well guess what, all those multiple times that I tried actually ordered a Groupon. These Groupons were not showing in my available list until a couple of days later when I went to use my Groupon. After having to search their site for someone to call, finally someone calls and says, "Sorry! No refund for you." I usually don't get mad but I'm mad!!! I purchased a voucher for a paint nite. Very simple process. Once I opened the voucher to redeem the code it says the code is not available in my country. I contacted Paint Nite and they said Groupon had to sort it out. I attempted to contact Groupon and THIS is the answer I get for clicking customer service. “Trouble redeeming? Please contact Paint Nite directly regarding any difficulty you may be encountering on their site. They can be reached at info@paintnite.com. Since they are more familiar with their website, they will be able to provide you with a quicker resolution. Unfortunately, we will not be able to assist you with any redemption or scheduling inquiries unless you have contacted Paint Nite first. If you do need to contact us regarding your redemption or order status, please provide us with the ticket number from your conversation with Paint Nite.”

They don’t give you any way of contacting them and just try to pass the issue. How unprofessional. FINALLY I find a contact for them from paint nite. Oh but of course that contact is no longer ad active one. Eventually I do get through to a rep and they just say no refund because I opened the voucher. HOW WAS I SUPPOSE TO KNOW IT WAS A BAD VOUCHER BEFORE I TRIED USING IT? In the end they just kept saying no refund and they wouldn’t even give me another code to use. They can clearly see the code I was sent was still active since I could not redeem it but they didn’t care. I even had a friend in the country it was saying the voucher was for to try and it gave them the same error. I will never use this service again.

I was searching for a vacation getaway, clicked one I might be interested in, decided against it, thought I hit the back button but apparently hit the purchase button. Attempted to contact Groupon immediately to no avail. Tried to call the number for the hotel that was listed on the deal to hear it was disconnected. I searched and searched until I found another number for the hotel. The lady there was sympathetic but said Groupon had to cancel, gave me a couple numbers for Groupon customer service but also informed me that no one ever answers them. I’ve chatted with Groupon repeatedly, and I receive automated emails saying they are still working on it but haven’t been able to get in touch with the hotel.

A couple days after that accidental purchase, I purchased a $25 deal and it took THREE Informations before it processed. If that had been the case with the getaway, I wouldn’t be disputing a $500 charge to my credit card. I had been a loyal customer, even recommending Groupon to family and friends. I will no longer use their service and will share my bad experience with those same people as well. Very, very disappointed.

My wife purchased Mario Andretti Racing Experience for me as a gift through Groupon. It wasn't something I wanted. I thought we could return the purchase like you can with any other company. I called Groupon to request a refund and they denied the request. It seems somewhere Groupon states it's a no refund purchase, but my wife didn't notice anything about that on the purchase page. I've talked to both Groupon and Mario Andretti Racing Experience now and neither of them said they will refund my purchase. It seems pretty lame that big companies can't make small consumers happy by fixing things like this. I don't recommend using Groupon if you think you may need to return your purchase.
