The promo code to receive a $20 digital Costco shop card for a new annual $60 membership didn't work for me. When I signed up using the promo code on Groupon, my account was active for 24 hours, then my account got cancelled. Costco said it was a "glitch" in their system. I had to pay the $60 membership fee again. I never got my digital shop card emailed to me. I reached out to Groupon Customer Service and they said there was no record of me purchasing the membership through Groupon since I purchased the membership from Costco directly. Groupon said I had to reach out to Costco to get my $20 digital shop card. I'm not sure if I'll go through that hassle. I suggest if you do plan to use the promo, take a screenshot of the order details including the promo code to show proof in case you run into issues.

Very bad experience with Groupon. I thought I would be saving money with this platform but it costs me even more. I purchased the oil changing voucher which was almost $80, I accidentally purchased it double and I canceled it immediately. They made it so called trade in and said if you don't find a suitable deal your refund will be paid within 5-7 working days. And now they are saying it was expired within 3 days. You'll get the credits within few hours. Which are still in process and I see $0 credits in my account. Their customer service is frustrating. They ask for 100s of proofs of the purchase but yet again you are helpless eventually. At the end your money are lost (looted).

Horrible customer service. Try to use Groupon and Galveston on Father’s Day. My voucher stayed in pending for hours and had to finally use more money to pay for the attractions. I was trying to get a discount on. Had reached out to customer service on several times and continually telling me that I am out of luck. When they told me, I could not cancel the voucher because it was pending. After the pending was over contacting them again they told me that all sales were final. The day Groupon was a high and it was hard to connect to customer service or get a hold of anyone on the phone sat on hold for the entire time waiting to get into the attraction. I am out of almost $500 for what I paid $165 for.

I am not experienced with Groupon. I bought Groupons for wines. I did not realize that I was paying Groupon and then the merchant as well. In the end, I was not getting a deal. From the four Groupon I purchased; I was only able to redeem 3. I tried getting help from customer service. I was asked for many details. However, even after all the details requested was given, no one would assist me. The communication completely stopped. I RECEIVED A BETTER DEAL BUYING DIRECTLY FROM THE MERCHANT!

I recently had the unfortunate experience of using Groupon, and I can't stress enough how awful it was. This was my first and definitely my last time using this platform. First, the deals are incredibly misleading. What looks like a great discount on the surface turns out to be a bait-and-switch tactic. I purchased a deal for a local restaurant that promised 50% off, but when I arrived, the restaurant refused to honor the Groupon, claiming they never agreed to the terms listed. After a heated argument with the manager, I had to pay full price for my meal, which completely defeated the purpose of using Groupon in the first place.
Second, their customer service is a complete nightmare. Trying to get a refund was an exercise in frustration. The representatives were rude, unhelpful, and kept giving me the runaround. It took over a month to finally get my money back, and that was after countless emails and phone calls. Third, many of the businesses listed on Groupon are shady and unreliable. I later found out that several other customers had similar issues with the same restaurant and other businesses on the platform. Groupon seems to do zero vetting of their partners, which means you’re gambling with your time and money every time you use one of their deals.
Overall, Groupon is a scammy, poorly run service that preys on customers looking for a good deal. Save yourself the headache and avoid it at all costs. There are plenty of other ways to find discounts without dealing with this disaster of a company. One star is too generous for the level of incompetence and deceit I experienced.

On March this year 2024 I wanted to take my daughter and son to Urban Air a trampoline place for children in Florida. So I went on the Groupon website and was able to find a Groupon coupon. So when I used the coupon Groupon charged me 2x the amount that I had to pay. I went to the Urban Air place and they said that I have to get in touch with Groupon so I tried search to see if they had a contact number, they don’t have any and I tried emailing but I couldn’t find any way to communicate with Groupon. So I lost over $350. To me Groupon is not honest! I would not recommend anyone of this site!! If that happened to me, I do not want this to happen to others!!

I bought 4 tickets instead of 2 because of uncleared sales information, tried a way to cancel right after I bought 2 of the tickets unsuccessful. Searched everywhere for an email, phone number, chat support etc without success, so it is impossible to get a customer service cause they are unreachable. Unfortunately I will have to dispute the charge and get my money back directly with my credit card provider. The worse experience I ever had purchasing online.

So I kept having trouble downloading it and I found out from the vendor it was for 2019, which would have cost me only $14.99 on their site. So I tried to talk to them but he didn't help or explain about how the whole thing was misleading, only said, "I'm sorry you're unhappy and thank you for reaching out, we appreciate your input." Groupon is a scam and doesn't stand by its customers. I purchased a groupon from a vendor. Worst customer service and a total scam! I called to make an appointment and they said that they are booking out a week even though the website clearly shows that there is availability all afternoon. Then, I get a call saying that someone is available at 3PM but that the area that I purchased would cover about the size of a quarter which is fine but that it had to be the exact specific location. If I moved the quarter space back (same exact size), I now had to pay for a medium size service. Absolutely ridiculous! Waste of my time! I was told by the business to get a refund from Groupon since I didn't qualify for the service. Groupon said that the time for a refund had expired and that the business is open and can take me. The business was trying to get me to pay more than what I had already purchased. Both places are total scams.

TERRIBLE SERVICE AND EXPERIENCE. DON''T BE TEMPTED TO GET GROUPONS. DELETE THE APP. I bought 3 groupons to the same restaurant, thinking it would be a great deal and perfect for an upcoming special occasion.. but... when I went to make a reservation, the restaurant said they don't take groupons anymore, even though my groupons are not expired or anything yet. They expire on the 31st, it's the 19th now. I contacted customer service and they were absolute robot jerks. They told me to wait up to SEVEN DAYS to remedy. Of which it is not guaranteed they would refund the amount I paid. And I can't use them all at once either even if they did decide to accept them after all.
Groupon disconnected me and blew me off, when I asked if they could please resolve within 24 hours so I don't have to deal with this for the next flippin week. Not helpful at all. I purchased a massage for my wife through Groupon a few months ago. My wife setup an appointment with the massage therapist. On the day of the appointment, the therapist texted my wife and cancelled the appointment. My wife had to reschedule the massage. She rescheduled for a month later. Come time for the rescheduled appointment and once again, the massage therapist cancelled the appointment on the same day. Keep in mind, neither cancelled appointment came with any reason - the appointments were just cancelled. My wife, who was fed up with having her appointments cancelled each and every time just asked for a refund of her Groupon. The merchant wouldn't even communicate with my wife after the second cancelled appointment. We also found that the merchant had redeemed the Groupon without our knowledge.
When we filed a complaint with Groupon, Groupon did nothing to help us. They just simply reached out to the merchant who told them they would reschedule the appointment, and that was all Groupon would do. Even after I told Groupon that this merchant had done the same thing to several other customers, and that I had reached out to the BBB, they still refused to investigate any further. I realized that Groupon is only after profit and not into protecting the consumers at all. I have also reached out to the local news media to see if they would cover the story. Groupon acts as if they are untouchable and defiantly stands their ground when it comes to profit over consumer protection. They need to be put in their place.

Well, BAD company, Groupon has a 3-day cancellation/refund policy that is located in some fine print somewhere and is certainly NOT obvious at ordering. Customer service at Groupon has been the most unfriendly and unintelligent I have dealt with. Have had to contact them twice so far and have nothing but being out $400++. Very bad experience from a consumer standpoint. I will make sure to also tell all of my friends about this very poor experience.

Groupon used to be great, long ago. I'll never use them again after paying for a service. It took me a week to schedule, and then the provider didn't show up. Despite all of this it wasn't refundable per Groupon (although they kept saying it would be then booting me to a new service agent and giving me the run around). So I disputed with my credit card and let the BBB know. They claimed I'd get the credit card dispute through, removed my money/unusable service from my Groupon account and then contested the credit card dispute. I'm now having to file a lawsuit against them to try and get my money back. It's ridiculous.

Worst customer service ever!!! Do not use Groupon. Purchased bully sticks for my dog, paid $8.55 for the "special". Had to go to vetsapproved.com to place order using code only to find out they charge $9.95 for shipping, which would take 2-3 weeks. After 4 weeks, I get an email that says my order was delivered. It was a Sunday and we were home. No package. Had to send correspondence and they said the seller informed them it would now be 10-12 weeks. I told them I wanted a refund and they told me I was outside of "cooling off period" of 3 days. Well, I didn't know my product would take 4 weeks, plus an addition 12 weeks to receive. Basically, said "sorry". Nothing we can do.
Put Groupon and vetsapproved.com on AMEX. Told Groupon I was notifying AMEX Fraud unit on them and the seller vetsapproved.com. Next day AMEX refunded me for both. Today Groupon emails me that they are reversing the charge and giving me the $8.55 in Groupon bucks. I told them, don't bother, I was already refunded by AMEX and they are starting a fraud investigation. DON'T BUY FROM EITHER OF THESE PRODUCTS!

I had purchased a Groupon for a spa on March 1, 2024 for $166. The merchant refused to honor the Groupon despite the fact that it expires on April 22, 2024. The reason why they did not honor the Groupon is because they claimed the deal had ended on Groupon and that the deal was too cheap. Therefore, I was forced to pay full price. The spa proceeded to explain that they would email Groupon to refund me. I had sent an email to Groupon explaining that this spa had refused to honor my coupon even though it had not expired.
Groupon sent me an email stating that the spa was honoring coupons and they would not refund me. I proceeded to send Groupon an email proving that the spa had emailed me stating that they had told Groupon about the situation and that Groupon should refund me the money. Groupon responded with the same email that stated that the spa is honoring the coupons and will not refund me. In the end, I have been scammed out of $166 from Groupon and the spa.

I ordered a Groupon for Andretti Indoor Karting in Orlando on Nov. 9th while I was on vacation. When I arrived there, the voucher code was not available, so I reached out via chat to get my code. The chat representative said coupons normally take 6hrs to generate, but gave a 10-20 min wait time to escalate since I was already onsite. I waited for 30 minutes without updates, stated if it could not be generated soon, I would proceed with a cancellation/refund. The representative gave me an additional 5 min wait time to resolve voucher.
Once I had waited for 45 minutes, I proceeded with canceling my order. The rep/bot replied 3 mins later confirmed my cancellation was received and stated that no charges had been processed and that any pending charges should clear within 2-3 days. I exited off chat and proceeded to purchasing my tickets directly from Andretti’s and I went about my day.
I looked at my statement to payoff my credit card near end of month and I noticed they did charge my card and that there was not refund issued. I sent a message to have this fixed, I explained the situation and their first response was that they would not issue a refund as my cancellation was after their “cooling period” per their policy.
I wrote back that I canceled the same day I ordered this Groupon, which makes it within cancellation policy and asked for them to send a copy of chat transcript. I was proactive and dug through my emails and found it myself and sent them a screenshot of where I clearly canceled on Nov 9th and provided the name of representative that helped me and the case number of my request.
Their second response was that that they did not have records of this chat and that my screenshot did not clearly show which Groupon was purchased and stated they could not issue a refund with what I provided. They told me that my only options were to gift it to someone else (I’m not from Orlando) or that I could use it for another day.
So, I proceeded to finding email they sent with chat records, placed the full transcript in a word document and I highlighted important details such as where it clearly stated it was for Andretti’s Groupon, the time stamps for the conversation where I clearly made the request to cancel and representative acknowledged cancellation and confirmed no charges would be made. The transcript clearly shows how the representative issued a coupon without my presence or consent after I exited off chat 5-10 mins after he had confirmed my cancellation and that no charges would be made.
Currently I am in day 5 without a resolution to fix their error. It is sad that I had to pull records and highlight everything to prove that I had canceled my order the same day, and if I did not do that, they would not bother to check their records which they clearly should have access to. I have asked for a supervisor or manager, and so far I have not had anyone reach out. It has been a very frustrating experience. Every response from them takes a day or more.

Me and my husband went to Branson for a week. Normally when we travel I like to try and use Groupon for some deals. I found a deal that we both liked, read the disclaimers of when we could use them and purchased it. It was a 3 pack deal for 2 putt putt golf and the wild world of Branson Zoo. The ONLY requirements were that we couldn't use the tickets for the zoo on the weekends or the day we purchased it. That was ok with me. It said it had to be used Monday thru Friday. No problem, we were gonna leave Thursday and it gave us 3 days to do it. However, we already had prior arrangements for Monday.
This would be the issue. On Tuesday we try to go to the zoo only to find out that they're closed on Tuesday and Wednesday now because we were now in a new month and they change their hours. (We had got there at the end of September and were leaving on the 5th of October) So, I contacted Groupon to let them know the issue and try to at least get a little money back for the zoo. Groupon proceeded to tell me their policy. I let them know that this was theft by deception. I had read the rules etc. I told them they should have put the special hours in the disclaimer. It has now been over a week since our return.
I finally get an email saying they are willing to give me $10 in Groupon bucks. Now, I understand that it was only $40 that I'm asking for them to return. But, to me that's $40 to much. You just don't do that. The first few emails I got from them, were them saying how much they want to help. It's like I was on an automated loop. Finally, when I told them they had just lost a customer, they send an email stating that they would get with their supervisor. Days later, I get a reply that they are willing to give me the Groupon bucks. Ummm, no thank you. Apparently I'm not valued as a customer. So, I have deleted the app and I'm sharing my story so maybe others won't get ripped off.

Purchased a Groupon and scheduled an appointment, the merchant has not shown up or rescheduled 7 times. Cancelled 1st to give kid a ride, 2nd for potential rain, 3rd time because prior customer asked to do another, 4th flat tire, 5th stating he was in Boulder and wouldn't have time once he got back. 6th time didn't show up and didn't respond till 2 days later, asked to reschedule 6 days later. 7th time no show, when I texted he asked to reschedule 2 days later because he forgot to mark me down. I again had already taken time to prepare the vehicle and area for our scheduled appointment and didn't want to wait any longer since not showing up for 7 appointments has delayed my plans significantly so I did it myself instead.
I went to let Groupon know about the situation and the only option I saw was the "contact support page" which only allows 150 character description of the problem which did not allow thorough enough description causing more delay in this lengthy refund process. Then Groupon says that I have to get the merchant to email me stating that he approves the refund so I can screenshot it, to then email it over to Groupon, after completing that and sending them exactly what they asked for and fighting through all that hassle I'm now only being offered Groupon credit bucks. The previous emails with Groupon were about a REFUND, not credit bucks, they were never mentioned by Groupon in any of the prior communications throughout this complicated and time wasting request process. All previous communications were about a REFUND, not credit bucks, they DO NOT meet the "definition" of refund, now being told that I'm only getting Groupon credit bucks is unacceptable.
After numerous attempts to get an actual refund as discussed previously Groupon now says - "Unfortunately, in this circumstance, I'm unable to issue a refund to your original form of payment. For situations like this, we can only offer a refund to Groupon Bucks. These Bucks can be easily applied at checkout." UNACCEPTABLE.

Groupon use to be such a great experience. You could try new restaurants and experiences, try out a new salon. It was fun. I even used it in the past for my resume. It’s been a few years and a couple months ago I decided to buy a resume deal. Well. Okay. It was bad. I mean the person doing my resume didn’t even proof it. Spelling errors. Duplicate info. Just bad. I figured ‘just a bad apple.’ So I tried another resume service the site recommend. This was worse… It was the most basic cookie cutter resume which gutted my resume and wouldn’t have gotten me a job at McDonald's. Both times I ate the money and just reviewed the services.
Maybe I should have figured it out then, but I needed my hair cut. I had had great hair experiences in the past so figured I’d try Groupon again. I got back from the salon about two hours ago in tears. My hairs is choppy, cut so short in places it sticks out like a poker and is an absolute mess. I don’t even have enough hair left that I could beg another salon to fix it. I figured I’d reach out to Groupon. I’ve only ever had to once in the past and they were kind and tried to help. I also knew they use to have the Groupon Guarantee. If something went really wrong, you were covered. However no phone number. I get into chat with someone who clearly doesn’t speak English as their first language… So no US support any longer as well… And I explain the situation. I even sent photos. They offered me $7 in Groupon bucks. They also said they were sorry for the ‘inconvenience.’
The resumes… No one will ever see. However I have three interviews next week for very well paying jobs and I look like one of those toddlers who take scissors to their hair when mom is in the other room. It’s that bad. I’m livid. The agent said they would get back to me later. This isn’t okay. Frankly I’ve lost all trust for Groupon and whatever they use to be is clearly dead. They no longer back up customers if something really bad happens like what happened today. It feels like they just don’t care. It’s but at your own risk and screw you if it turns out badly. They were too cheap to pay for the insurance so we couldn't track the package with the post office. They then said it was nothing more they could do. And everytime I tried to contact Groupon to report Crazylowpricesforyou, they kept sending me to third party company. Now, my money is gone and I have no product.

I have been trying unsuccessfully to get my refund for years, to no avail! Their customer service is terrible and doesn’t even seem to exist! I’ve tried to call Groupon as well, to no avail or help in any way! They keep sending me emails requesting more and more information which was already provided to them. The merchants that offer these Groupon discount sometimes are already closed for business permanently, they won’t honor the Groupon, unable to contact them at all, don’t honor any appointments, etc. Groupon has terrible business ethics! It’s no wonder they’re laying off thousands of employees. Be very wary if you want to purchase what seems to be a great deal! Very unhappy customer!

I purchased one night for Great wolf hotel through Groupon on 4/28/2023 to check in on 5/24/2023. I contacted Groupon from their application, used (email us) button to cancel this order on 5/13. I did this 2 times to confirm it was sent. Did not receive confirmation or any response. Did same thing on 05/14/2023 without any response. This was the only way to contact them when you choose customer support on their application or website. I tried to find a phone number to call them but couldn’t find any. Asked my friend. Finally, found another way to contact them on the application and was able to chat with live agent. Chat button was not an option when you choose customer service, you can only see it after you press many options.
I contacted them by chat 5/17/2023. Chatted with Sureswari. The agent was very rude and unhelpful. The agent asked me to contact the hotel to cancel and she just ended the chat and stopped responding to my question. I tried to tell her to contact the hotel and cancel because the purchase was through them not directly from hotel. I called the hotel, they told me, cancellation should be through Groupon as the purchase was done from them which is logic. The hotel people told me, they can cancel and sent me email with confirmation number. The hotel agent told me when I spoke with her, there is no cancellation fees.
Chatted with Groupon again to tell them what happened and gave them the confirmation number, this time spoke with M. ** who told me she contacted the hotel and confirmed that I spoke with them and requested cancellation. M. ** told me someone will contact me from Groupon soon to process the refund. Today, I got email from Mahesh J saying that, "Groupon confirmed the cancellation but Since you canceled 7 days from arrival, you are subjected to a $100.00 cancellation fee which is 75% of total cost." I already tried to contact you 11 days before without any answer, I don’t know if it was your application or website problem or you didn’t look at the email. Either one, it is your problem not mine. Also the hotel agent mentioned that there is no cancellation fees from the hotel. I will never use untrusted website like Groupon again and I will share this bad experience everywhere.

I purchased a Groupon for myself and was unable to use it so I returned it in exchange for Groupon bucks, hundreds of dollars worth and then when I went to make a purchase they were gone. I reached out and have been getting the runaround for days, they stole money from my account from a return for a service I no longer wanted or could use and they are fighting to keep my money and telling me to use an expired service I had returned, I want my money back or at least the credit and not these absurd policies I had no idea about that seemingly allow them to steal hundreds of dollars and deny customer’s service transfers.
I’ve never had an issue with them until now and now that it’s $300+ I noticed they can’t seem to figure out how to credit my account, one day I’m told it will be reinstated and then the next I was told I had to use a returned voucher that expired, I just want the money I spent back on my account, or better yet returned to my debit card. Since I am now disgusting by their app and confused and unhelpful customer service.

I joined Groupon last week for a specific groupon they were offering. I joined and purchased 2 of these Groupons. I contacted the vendor to set up our appointments and was told he has not been registered with Groupon since last year and has requested they take his groupon down. He said he gets at least 3 to 4 calls for appts on these a week. No biggie, right? Just contact Groupon and get a refund right? A BIG NO! I have repeatedly sent emails only to get a reply that once they get my response, they would help me. They gave me a credit on my Groupon account that has to used in 60 days.
After my first experience, I do not want any of their services, I want MY money back in my account. I have tried to contact them by phone but the only numbers I can find are from 2017 and no longer work. I called my bank and was told by the dispute department for my card, they could do nothing since Groupon had already gave me a credit. I DON'T want a credit, I want my money back. Buyers beware when purchasing through Groupon. I learned a lesson costing me $52 that you should call and maybe see if they are legit offers before purchasing.

I tried using some “Groupons”. Every single one of them were fake. I decided to contact customer service through their online chat option and ask why none of their coupons were valid. The agent insisted she I gave her my email. I asked her why and told her I did not wish to provide that information due to the fact that I wasn’t signing up for or authorizing emails from them. She said she wouldn’t help me and that I wouldn’t get far by not doing what agents told me to do. I said that she was being rude and she said that I should learn to be nice. Keep in mind I hadn’t said anything rude at this point. I said that is no way to talk to a customer. She said I should take the advice myself. I told her “I don’t need to be nice because I’m not the one working in customer service and if she can’t handle upset customers that she shouldn’t work in customer service”.
She kept repeating that she’ll be there waiting for me to provide the information and that I better have a better attitude and “apply it to yourself “. She then said that I didn’t want help and she has better stuff to do with other customers. I tried contacting Groupon by phone and they have hidden behind not having anyone answer their phones and just do emails. I also then found out this agent went and somehow got my email and then used it to reply to my complaint about her. Since I had to put a complaint in via email. I know this because the names are the same and I highly doubt another agent has her unique name and same last initials. I have tried calling their headquarters and either they shut their phones down or blocked my number.
I had called on Sunday and left a voicemail that I wanted to speak to someone right away and if I wasn’t contacted I’d be contacting CA, BBB and showing my conversation with that agent on social media. They never called. This company seems very shady and just because they are a well-known name doesn’t mean they are reputable or clean. I’ve done some research and Groupon has a lot of the same issues or scams, fake coupons etc. DO NOT use this company, their employees can obviously get your info anytime they want and use it without supervision and half their operations are in India. Your info is not safe with them and they do not fix their problems. If you do not believe me then do your own research and you will see for yourself how shady they are.

Let's be real. Half of the product listings on Groupon look a little shady—from the poorly Photoshopped images to the unknown brand names and broken English. The truth is... I thought that Groupon had more integrity, that if a problem occurred with one of these shady deals, Groupon would step in. So far that has not been the case. To keep it simple: I ordered a product titled "duo"—an expensive shampoo and condition from a company listed as Global Beauty Sales. What I received was one, 1-liter conditioner. Not at all what I ordered/expected.
MISLEADING LISTINGS: The language is pretty confusing. Not to toot my own horn or whatever, but I have two degrees in English Writing and taught college-level composition. I currently work as a copywriter in the marketing department of a company. I'm not an idiot. I had to read the description multiple times, though. It doesn't appear to be language that is confusing naturally, but just a bunch of words piled up as to be confusing. On purpose. It's pretty obvious. (I included photos.)
PRODUCT PHOTOS INACCURATE: In the main product photo for this listing, there are pairs of shampoo and conditioner... DUO. Not one. Who at Groupon is approving these deceptive listings?
OVERPRICED PRODUCT TO MISLEAD: Not only is the language confusing and misleading, but Global Beauty Sales, LLC. is trying to get away with selling 1 product (instead of the two advertised) for $15 over the price I can buy 1 on Amazon or Walmart.com. Why would I think this was just one product? Misleading. Again, on purpose?
GROUPON - POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE: When I received the one bottle of conditioner, I spent the next 5 minutes trying to figure out how to contact Groupon. Unfortunately, you cannot speak with Groupon on the phone. You have two options LIVE CHAT and EMAIL. I tried LIVE CHAT twice. I had to trick the automated/robot assistant just to get to the LIVE CHAT. Once I did get someone, they were awful. I just got a bunch of meaningless canned responses like they weren't even hearing what I was saying. They said I had to contact the merchant when I was trying to get them to review the merchant themselves. "Please look at the listing," I kept saying. Supposedly they put in a request from the merchant; however, the fine print says "final sale." I can't imagine the same merchant who puts up scammy listings is going to give me a refund and not charge me return shipping.
CUSTOMER SERVICE CUT OUT - TWICE: Both reps I spoke with just stopping responding before the end of helping me. If this happened once, I'd say it was a mistake. I waited on the live chat with my phone open for 30 minutes with the second one before I closed the window. Wow. Just horrible, horrible customer service. This is the equivalent to hanging up on someone... but making them wait on the line thinking you're coming back. As a small business, if I treated customers this way, I wouldn't have any.
PURCHASE REVIEWS: The last point to make is their shady review system. Apparently you have to be invited to review? I cannot even leave a review for this scammy product to warn other potential customers. What a kick in the teeth, Groupon. Shame on you. I've purchased many things from you in the past but no longer. I will also make sure to let everyone know what a scam this site has become.

I received a message that I would get Groupon bucks and after so many days (I believe it was 90 days) I would be refunded to my original form of payment. In the meantime, I found a deal that I was interested in, purchased it with SOME of the Groupon bucks, only to find out it was a different state. I requested a refund for that as well. Apparently this is considered a Trade In at this point. I have been trying to reach Groupon to get a refund since I have not been able to find anything that would interest me. You cannot speak with anyone, it's only a "live chat" and after about 6 different agents, one finally responded consistently.
After I explained what I needed, the other 5 never responded back. I was told that I could not get any refund at all, only Groupon bucks, not even the balance from the original purchase. In addition, I purchased two online courses from their merchant Course Cloud, only to have one redeemed by the company on December 5. When looking into this, apparently several customers had the same thing happen and Groupon has failed to respond to this issue. At this point, I am so frustrated with the lack of customer service and this new "Groupon Bucks" refund instead of refunding to the original form of payment. I had even called their headquarters but you cannot even get anyone there to speak with either. I will not ever use Groupon again.

Groupon started off as a very deal savvy site, but recently it has become nothing more than a dark web site that refuses to protect its consumers from scammers. Over the years I have continued to patronize Groupon even though it has become hit or miss. I’ve bought “deals” only to end up taking gambles on whether or not the merchant was still in business, still accepting the purchased Groupon, and even providing standard quality service.
A couple of times I bought a Groupon for a beauty service to only end up receiving the service from someone’s home!!!! When I would complain to Groupon about these merchants, I was often told that I was on my own, I had to take it up with the merchant. You can guess how that went, especially when you’re dealing with a merchant who doesn’t even exist. The few times Groupon would assist me, the solution was always “Groupon bucks”, a form of merchandise credit. Instead of refunding me with my original payment method, I was forced to continue to take risks with more scamming merchants.
This last time was the final straw for me. I purchased a flat iron from a merchant, but was sent a blow dryer, a very cheap quality blow dryer at that. My initial reaction was to reach out to the merchant in hopes that this was a simple mistake that could simply be corrected. The merchant responded with “that’s all we had left in stock, if you don’t like it send it back.” He also refused to pay for return shipping. At that point I contacted Groupon. They sent the merchant an email and copied me on it saying that he was responsible for the return shipping. Obviously the merchant took this as a joke because he never responded. I continued to reach out to Groupon only to be told that I needed to work things out with the merchant myself. Ultimately, I was out of $100. That was the final straw for me. Beware when doing any type of business with Groupon!!!!

GROUPON HAS BECOME A HUGE CORPORATE SCAM. I checked out 3 courses on Groupon and was going to purchase. A notification came up to enter the code MISSYOU and 99% would be taken off the price. I did this and paid through Paypal but the circle of dread kept going round and round and as far as I know is still going. Then I tried updating my credit card and went to put through the order. Suddenly the screen changed and it was applying a 20% discount! It changed all the discount codes to 20% instead of the 99%. I tried to take out my credit card, but it didn't show up in my account. I'm sure they still have the number as they accepted it and suddenly it too disappeared. I did take a screenshot of the Paypal order still processing at 99%. You can no longer contact a human by phone.
Like all big corporations who see people as nothing more than cash cattle, Groupon execs hide from all aspects of their show from the customer now. They use speech algorithms and bots called "Live Chat" or hire one or two poor souls who can barely comprehend English and keep jumping off to 50 other calls. I also took screenshots of this disgusting waste of time. It accomplished nothing but the whole scam lost me an hour and a half of my precious time. I don't think the rep could have even been a real person, although it pretended to be. My advice is run fast and run far from this creepy scam outfit. Second time was a voucher for ATS, went along and had the aircon regassed, it lasted less than a day and I only drove 2 miles. ATS said "it's not our problem. It worked when you left here," which it did a bit but not properly but they were closed when I picked the car up. Groupon said "sorry to hear that, have a 20% refund in groupon credit." They were not in the least bit interested in the fact that it didn't work and just said "we don't give refunds, regardless" so I'm left with no aircon service that I paid for and no refund.
Groupon's site says it pays any refunds to the original payment method, they don't, they don't give refunds and any they may offer is as groupon credit only. As for reviews, the only way to review a service from groupon is when they request that you do via email...so if you complain to them you can't leave a review on their site, hence why there as some many negatives on here but not on groupon's own site, don't buy from them as you are not covered by the normal retail laws and any problems you have no comebacks whatsoever.

This is after phoning the hotel a few days before my stay to confirm and it was not told to me that the hotel was overbooked and I would be getting a queen room. I wish I could say that that was the least of my problems however when entering the room and discovering that it was a queen room I also noticed the bathroom did not have toilet paper and only two small towels. And don’t even get me started on the shower which was what you would describe trickling water, not enough to actually shower properly.
I checked in April 2 and checked out on the 3, and the two Latina employees documented all of my issues and stated I would get contacted by management on Monday, April 4th but to my surprise the Baltic management did not contact me instead I had to contact the hotel multiple times before a manager stated that since my purchase was through a 3rd party which was Groupon they would have to handle a refund or compensation.
Fair warning, this is a scam both Groupon and the Baltic Hotel blame each other and don’t take ownership for not providing a paying customer with what they paid for, the least they could do is provide a partial refund for getting the wrong room. Yet after two weeks I have given Groupon and the Baltic Hotel to rectify the situation, but it is now April 21st and no contact from either the Baltic or Groupon. I used Groupon to order a pizza from Papa John's. The money was immediately deducted from my bank account, yet, the pizza was never delivered. I tried to find a customer service number but had no luck - I was forced to share my complaint via instant messaging. The first time, I asked for an actual contact number. They gave me a random Papa John's number who had no clue of my order. I tried a second time, and they were no better than the first rep I IM'd with. I can't help but wonder why they refuse to provide customers with the number to corporate. DO NOT provide any personal information, Groupon is a scam!

I purchased a Groupon for a personal service on Sep 27, 2021 for $248. I tried to schedule an appointment for several weeks but they would never answer the phone and voicemail was not accessible. I tried again in a few weeks with an online portal. Again, no success. Then I had health problems and was unable to use the service for a few months. The expiration was 03/26/2022 so I knew I had time.
In the middle of March, I went on the Groupon site to finally redeem the voucher and saw that it said I had redeemed it on January 14, a day that I was in the hospital! I contacted customer service 4 times about it and finally got this response: "This merchant has replied us that he redeemed the voucher as as it was expiring and requested you to go to the scheduling site and use this voucher." First of all, it was not near expiration. More importantly, is this even legal??? Why would Groupon allow this??? I was outraged! I asked for a refund as I do not wish to deal with such a shady business but have yet to get a reply. I also will think twice about purchasing another Groupon, especially for a service like this.

I recently received a gift card for $100. I applied that gift card to a purchase that totaled $103.18, paying for the $3.18 difference with a credit card. Once I hit submit, my credit card was charged the full amount ($103.18) and the gift card credit still shows up on my account. Groupon says they cannot apply the gift card to a "previous" purchase, even though the error was on their end. They say I can use the gift card on a future purchase, but why wouldn't they do the same thing next time and charge me the full price and never apply the gift card? I'm not falling for that again!! Please do not use this company and do not purchase gift cards from their website. They will not honor them.

Insane rip-off. What on earth these people are thinking is beyond me. I have WASTED hundreds of dollars, only to find the service is cheaper if purchased directly. It is simply revolting that this company operates as a “discounted” vehicle. Lord save us all from such scammers and the companies that promote their savory businesses with them. Disgusting.

I requested consideration to refund my Groupon tickets to a theme park. The person on the chat line refused to allow me to escalate the request as I wanted to discuss it with someone who has higher authority. Shortly after I was told to private message Groupon about my situation. I did, and shortly after that I was told the fine print says no refunds. NO KIDDING - that's why I wanted to escalate to someone that has higher authority and consider some extenuating circumstances. Also since yesterday, I have received two emails from the chat line representative promoting Groupon and how good it is - really! This is "Rubbing salt in the wound".
The final blow is I was looking to give the tickets to someone but the fine print says it's not transferrable. It amazes me they will not consider anything to soften the blow, especially considering they have not have to spend any money to facilitate my tickets. If not a refund, a credit, dates extension, etc... would show consideration and commitment to their customers. TREAD SOFTLY WITH GROUPON, NOT VERY FLEXIBLE WITH CUSTOMERS!

I'm permanently disabled on a fix income and I use Groupon for their Discounts. Recently, Groupon is refusing to refund purchases made that I am entitled to. I have requested multiple times by email the need to resolve this matter and I’m constantly dismissed! I’m just trying to get what’s rightfully mine. I’ve sent them Proof of pictures of the original purchases with pricing, pictures from my bank account showing refunded amounts, Groupon account showing pre-existing transactions for account credits and they keep saying Everything has been refunded. If I had existing Groupon credits on my account and Made purchases using those credits but later canceled those transactions, I should not only be refunded with my purchase money but also the pre existing credits.
Groupon not only didn’t refund my purchase money they wouldn’t give me back my pre-existing credits. In addition to not allowing me to speak to management to get this mater resolved. Till this day no one has called me back. This is very unprofessional to say the least. This has been very troubling and I can’t believe a company like this would be so dishonest. On 2/11/22 I purchased 7 Groupons in which I canceled ALL TRANSACTIONS CONDUCTED. In addition to those transactions I had two pre-existing credits already applied to my Groupon account which were available for immediate use. I have uploaded all documents in question.
1.) One stating the original purchases of 174.75 and 120.91 withdrawn from my bank.2.) Two Trade-in credits of the pre-existing credits.109.86 before membership discount.
3.) The 7 items purchased on 2/11/22 with their purchase numbers attached.
4.) Pictures of Five transactions that were refunded.
5.) Current Groupon Credits on system. Lower then owed.
I made 7 purchases on 2/11/22 and only 5 were refunded partially at that! I should have credits for 9 TRANSACTIONS TOTAL including two pre-existing credits on the account from the previous year. I should be refunded by CASH AND GROUPON BUCKS AND THEY FAILED BOTH!

Terrible service. A customer service that sends me automatic e-mails that do not answer my questions and which are copy-pasted, each time this just confirms the lack of attention paid to my request.…I am more and more scandalized day by day by their sole interest in making profit made on my back and of those of other consumers who are less persistent than me. It has been a battle for 2 months.

There was a time Groupon was actually good. It gave top sites a run for their money and other sites followed suit. Now it is awful and I suspect all the reviews. I got the worst gift ever when my kids were born - $150+ for Groupon Goods. 8+ years later I finally decided to use it. Groupon has nothing of value, so I bought passport cases, power bank, and vaccine card holder. I don't need any of them but nothing else caught my eye. The power bank says it charges iPhones but it doesn't even have the latest iPhone charging capability. The vaccine card holder shows that it holds the vaccine card online but in-person the card doesn't even fit inside. The passport case is ok and not really a must-buy. I am now trying to return them.
Buying from here is akin to throwing away money. The seller charges hefty shipping on each and every item even though all the items are shipped together per seller. So you don't really get a discount. I hope they refund the entire amount including the shipping. I really don't know what to spend money on. Either the person who gave it truly hates me which is plausible since she is from my in-laws' family, or she regifted this. It is the lousiest gift I have ever received, I would have preferred another candle to this monstrosity and colossal waste of money. And does their chat function even work?

Groupon is hit or miss these days. Sometimes the deals are great, but oftentimes the 'goods' are priced the same on Amazon, with faster shipping. It seems like Groupon inflates the retail price, to create the illusion of a 'deal'.

I spent over $1110 dollars on 6 passes and all I get credited is $117. I am not happy with this experience. I purchased this 3 day just to get the premium excursion which was the luau. The merchant cancelled the event hours before. I expect a refund or at least half Groupon credit for each pass. And the way Groupon customer service agent Durbasha ** treated me was very poorly. First she told me to use the pass for another excursion which I explained to her it was my last day on the island. Then she told me the luau is not offered with the Oahu pass anymore which was not true. It still is. Then all she kept trying to do is ask me if I had any more questions when I wasn’t finished talking about my issue with the go card. I use Groupon often and I have never experienced horrible service like this. I will definitely be vocal about how I was treated on all social media platform reviews.

On 10/7/21 I purchased a Groupon for 6 hours of house cleaning from Cozy Maids for $162.00. I scheduled a cleaning for 9 am on 11/23. The cleaner called me that morning and canceled the appointment. I rescheduled for 11/24 at 9am and that appointment was also canceled by the cleaner. I rescheduled again for 12/2 at 9 am. On 12/1 I noticed Cozy Maid placed a charge on my credit card for $220.00. I was only supposed to be charged if the services exceeded 6 hours. This was unacceptable, so I immediately disputed the charge with my credit card company and canceled the appointment for 12/2. I also emailed Cozy Maid to inform them of the issues and that I was canceling. No service was performed, but Cozy Maid marked the Groupon as redeemed. I disputed this with Groupon and they refuse to refund my $162.00 even though my house was never cleaned. I have filed a complaint with the BBB.

How is it that this company continues to "refund" no-show vendors to Groupon Bucks. I have attempted two firms for a simple heater tune-up and both times they were no-shows, no calls and no attempt to perform the paid for service. Groupon only refunds to their Groupon Buck regardless of satisfaction. Perhaps they should vet their suppliers more closely!
