On 10/7/21 I purchased a Groupon for 6 hours of house cleaning from Cozy Maids for $162.00. I scheduled a cleaning for 9 am on 11/23. The cleaner called me that morning and canceled the appointment. I rescheduled for 11/24 at 9am and that appointment was also canceled by the cleaner. I rescheduled again for 12/2 at 9 am. On 12/1 I noticed Cozy Maid placed a charge on my credit card for $220.00. I was only supposed to be charged if the services exceeded 6 hours. This was unacceptable, so I immediately disputed the charge with my credit card company and canceled the appointment for 12/2. I also emailed Cozy Maid to inform them of the issues and that I was canceling. No service was performed, but Cozy Maid marked the Groupon as redeemed. I disputed this with Groupon and they refuse to refund my $162.00 even though my house was never cleaned. I have filed a complaint with the BBB.

How is it that this company continues to "refund" no-show vendors to Groupon Bucks. I have attempted two firms for a simple heater tune-up and both times they were no-shows, no calls and no attempt to perform the paid for service. Groupon only refunds to their Groupon Buck regardless of satisfaction. Perhaps they should vet their suppliers more closely!

I was adding items to my cart that I was considering - on their mobile app. I was looking at the items in the cart and realized they had been purchased....twice! I contacted Groupon through chat because you can't call them (scam tactic) and they said I have to contact each separate vendor and that they can't cancel my order even though it had just happened and, I DIDN'T ORDER IT! They sent me auto response emails from all 13 vendors and, guess what, I can't respond to them or call or chat with any of them. (All of them are from China.) Now I'm stuck with over $800 worth of crap I didn't order from China.

Groupon has single-handedly ruined mine and my family's Christmas. At the very least they should have the vendor's real contact information and an extra step in the purchasing verifying that you actually want to make the purchase like, literally, every other site on the internet. The Groupon employee said that this happens ALL OF THE TIME! If you don't want the same experience, I suggest you delete your Groupon account and do not use Groupon for anything ever again.

Fraudulent and deceptive practices. This company stole our money. We viewed a deal on their app while gathering information for pricing. The app executed a purchase without our authorization as we never clicked purchase. "Cancel" was just there for show and didn't work. Credit card information was stored on file from a previous purchase to be used for this theft. Groupon customer service is non-existent. We contacted customer support immediately. Only chat was available; never anyone you can speak to on the phone. We received the same canned response over and over again that purchases are non-refundable; without any recognition that we never made the purchase to begin with. Do not use this company. You get no savings when they steal your money! Their system is designed to steal from you and prevent you from getting justice!

I purchased my Groupon with ink and art. I received several texts from this person to reschedule my appointment because they had an emergency to come up. When I finally got an appointment went to the address and no one there knew of this person. I tried to call them from the number they were texting me. That number is a voicemail. When you dial the voicemail it says it is not a working number. I also convey this to Groupon. It was the same number they had. After that point the person never responded to any of my texts but she had put into Groupon that she redeemed my money a week prior to that appointment. I never received the servant. I send Groupon the Texts that they were sending me from the number. The place is a beauty salon. They never heard of this person.

Groupon has no protection in place for scammers. There are so many scams going on nowadays. You have to be very careful. However I thought that Groupon was more credible and would have a protection plan in place. Basically they told me sorry for my inconvenience and there was nothing I could do. I would never go through Groupon for anything anymore. That was hundred and $12.

Definitely a scam company. Criminals. DO NOT USE. They say on their website they have a 14 day return/refund policy, but in the small print of every product they sell it then says that the 14 day refund policy is not valid. No refund policies are not automatically upheld in English & Welsh Law. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations, consumers are entitled to a full refund, without fees, in the same manner used to purchase the product (eg £'s), IRRESPECTIVE of any company policy on refunds. Contract law states that items sold must be as described and fit for purpose. I purchased a Groupon Code for £50 for a specific Tough Mudder Race. However, the code was not valid on the Tough Mudder website.

I contacted Groupon and they said they would only give me ‘Groupon credit’, not cash. I used this to purchase another Groupon code for the same event I wanted. However, this code was also invalid and unusable. I gave Groupon the opportunity to satisfactorily rectify the situation, but ultimately I’ve spent £50 on something not as described or fit for purpose. They have stolen money from many people in this way. My friends who are also trying to book this event have found the same problem with Groupon. They also requested refunds, as they we are entitled to under English contact law, but again Groupon refused to abide by the law. Criminals. Scammers. DO NOT USE.

Groupon may give folks a "great deal" but it does so at the expense of small businesses and merchants. Groupon hid so many ways of being able to skyve money off our ticket prices in the fine print, and didn't even hold to their own "contract" about pricing. Then they find any way they can that they will make more money off holding your hard earned cash "in escrow", or by not enforcing your policies for your own business. I will never be working with them again. Maybe a big company or chain that has enough product to take some losses can use them without breaking the bank, but for me, it was an awful money drain and continuous issue. Please don't buy things from Groupon, if you like something on there just go directly to the merchant and purchase it through them. You'll be saving many businesses.

Groupon does not honor their “refund promise”. Do not make any reservations for motels/hotels on here because they will not refund you if you chose to cancel. They have done little to nothing to help me cancel my order. The motel had no clean towels and homeless people in the lobby, we choose not to check in and even received a cancellation letter from the motel manager, who said all we needed what the cancellation number to provide to Groupon. The First Lady I chatted with through IM with Groupon said I needed to provide the manager's name in which of course we were not given, she did not care for the letter or cancellation number!

Also, the motel price was cheaper than the Groupon amount. They have now charged my card a larger amount than what the Groupon was originally paid for!! My advice don’t even trust them with any orders, they will not refund you, they barely even offer to exchange the order. I will never use Groupon again!! Most of my cards were recently updated with a new expiration date. They refuse to let me into my account though I cannot possibly provide this information.

I've requested to delete my data completely from their system so I can be done with their company for good. I tried using the app again to purchase a Kayak rental and some lights. Four hours after that purchase, the same card was charged from UPTMSUCCESS. This charge was caught by the credit card fraud department... so they closed my card... yet, later this same day another charge was issued to the same credit card from Groupon. (The credit card company said that is normal... but is it...?? IDK)

This was the first time in three months that I’ve used this credit card and only for that one Groupon charge... and now there are 2 fraudulent charges. I was able to chat with a useless representative who continues to ask for information I already provided... All they had to do was scroll up!!! Geesh!! They were horrible... and somehow because of COVID they do not offer phone assistance...Huh? But email is acceptable... so COVID can go through the phone but not email... That’s new to me!! I’m closing Groupon and rather than waste any more time with Groupon, I’m going through my credit card fraud department. COVID has not stopped them from answering their phones.

Of course the website is down and the only way to use the tickets is redeeming them online...I hop on chat with customer support (because this company is so pathetic they can't afford a phone - or they know how terrible their service is so they avoid phones all together...either way it's beyond pathetic and unprofessional).

Their chat agents just copy and paste scripts into a box and send it to you (again super unprofessional) mostly because their chat agents are in India and their English is terrible. They continue to offer a different Groupon or a refund in "Groupon bucks" AKA not wanting to give me my money back. Luckily I am educated in the US legal system and after informing them that they sold me a fraudulent product in which I could sue their company over they suddenly had no problem refunding me actual US dollars not a credit for a future purchase. This company is beyond pathetic and should really be investigated more often because I am not the first person this has happened to.

I did receive a credit for $174 in group-on goods, however I wanted my money back and a credit made to my credit card account. If I went into the instructor's van and took $174 worth of equipment I would be arrested and jailed. However, Groupon and the instructor found a way to steal with contract and legal protections. As we were unable to book the event online with our vouchers per Groupon’s instructions, we discovered the business was non operational per Covid (until at least March 2021) upon contacting the merchant directly. The experience in requesting a refund was time consuming and a hassle. The agent came off as if I was not being truthful then proceeded to advise she refunded Groupon dollars to my account vs crediting it back to the original form of payment. Eventually that was done. I will definitely rethink using Groupon in the future and suggest contacting the businesses directly prior to purchasing to avoid this type of situation.

Buyers beware. The items sold through Groupon are very poor quality and they are not exactly what you order. Often the item you order and what you receive are not the same - Groupon supports bait and switch. I ordered a Thermometer and Swarovski earrings - very poor quality. The earrings are described as "elegant" - they are very cheap looking. I also ordered an USB LED Beanie hat - I received a battery operated hat - bait and switch!

The last item I ordered, or thought I was ordering was a Polaroid Backup camera. What landed in my cart which I didn't notice was a Polaroid Dash Cam. I didn't realize the bait and switch until the item arrived. At this point, I want to add, the item that arrived is a 2015 product. I immediately attempted to contact Groupon about this item but found no contact options on their website. I finally tracked someone done via Facebook Messenger. When I asked about returning the item, although the item itself indicated a full refund, the agent informed me "the deal is no longer eligible for a refund" but they would only give my Groupon credit. Mind you, I contacted them within 20 minutes of receiving and opening the box. Turns out, Groupon only allows you a full refund if you cancel the order within 2 hours of placing it.

I contacted the vendor, Royal Boudoir about the hat. I received an email from them this morning, indicating they would credit my account for the hat followed by an email saying my order was cancelled. I'll have to wait to see if the credit is applied. In addition to contacting Royal Boudoir, I contacted Paypal. Paypal emailed me yesterday indicating Groupon is now offering a full refund provided I return all the items at my cost. Checking the USPS shipping, just to return the dashcam would cost between $8.20 and $36.70. The item cost $33. At this point, unless Groupon steps up someone is getting a dashcam for Christmas.

I am not a regular Groupon shopper and after this experience why would I want to try again? Extremely poor quality on 2 items and the other 2 weren't what I ordered. Groupon bucks is not a reasonable solution for a consumer. Groupon, however, is getting rich off of people like you and I who give in, accept either the loss or the bucks knowing it's money out the window. Buyer beware! Did no pay in Groupon Bucks and do not want credit in Groupon Bucks. Foreign customer services is horrible. Researching Class Action suit as Groupon refusing refunds in lieu of their own currency is a problem with all customers seeking a refund.

I recently saw what I thought was a deal on a Sam's Club membership. It was $25 on a normal $55 dollar membership. They even showed the markdown. Once I purchased it, the actual membership length was then shown to expire at the end of 2020. I was only getting 65 days of a membership for $25 that only costs $55 for an entire year. I contacted customer service immediately (within a minute). To which I got a reply the next day that they would not refund my money because I had viewed the voucher. Well I couldn't see the membership details until I viewed it. This is terrible tactics to get customers to buy, what they know is not even close to a good deal. And is actually a ripoff to the consumer. I have removed all of my information from their site, canceled their app and will never use their service again. Lesson learned.

I recently purchased a microblading session with a vendor with "great" ratings on Groupon. After trying to get in touch to schedule an appointment several days with no answer, I requested a refund. The only option to request a refund was "Groupon Bucks", I immediately requested the amount to be refunded to my Credit Card, since it was about $200.00. They don't have a live/phone rep, only chat/email both individuals were completely unhelpful and proceeded to informed me the following: YES, we know you only have the Groupon Bucks option, so we hope you find something else to buy. What???? I never had these issues in the past, this company is now a joke, I don't even think they're bothering to check if vendors are actually in business.

I have been a long time Groupon Customer but have recently become very dissatisfied with Groupon, especially Groupon goods. I have found their products to be of poor quality and trying to receive any customer service from Groupon regarding issues is nearly impossible. I recently purchased a Oxford universal kayak dolly and it arrived with two defective tires. Groupon refused to take any action or even to provide me the manufactures name in order for me to try to get service through the manufacture.

I located the manufacture information on my own and the manufacturer Oxford also refused to stand behind their product and address the defective product issue, indicating that Groupon selects substandard manufacturers of the products that they sell who are also unwilling to stand behind their products sold through Groupon goods. I would recommend checking Amazon first before buying anything on Groupon, my experience has been good customer service and correcting product issues easily through Amazon. Probably worth paying a little more on Amazon if necessary to know that you can get customer service and support for the product purchased.

I had used Groupon years ago and had great experiences with them. Recently the experience has gone downhill. There is a lot in the fine print you need to be careful of before you purchase. I bought 1 for carpet cleaning and the company never called me back so I could set a carpet cleaning date. I finally called them again and found out they don't service my area without extra fees. I was able to get groupon to trade it in for groupon bucks, which was not ideal since there were no carpet cleaners available on their site to service my area, but better than a loss of funds. I couldn't find anything to purchase for such a large sum of money.

Recently I found another event that I could finally use the groupon bucks for and when I got home after booking it while I was out I found out you had to book in advance, which is not a big deal. When I went online to book a time I found that they didn't have any available slots until after we had to leave the city to return home. The vouchers expire in just a couple months so we unfortunately cannot even get back to Pigeon Forge to try again at a later date. The not reading of the fine print is definitely my error but I would've hoped for a bit more flexibility.

Ten days later I tried to get a refund, having found out Raymond's has leagues and NO open bowling except later on Saturday evenings (after 8 p.m.) or some on Sundays. That's not mentioned in Groupon's description of the deal. When I did a "chat" with Groupon's "customer service" (you can't call them), they said they're sorry for the inconvenience but their policy is to give me my $73.60 in "Groupon bucks". So I am forced to use Groupon again or lose my money. Their customer service is rude and cut me off three times. Their customer service is also not in the United States. Shame on Groupon. I've purchased from Groupon for years and have had many bad experiences but felt the savings and new experiences out weighed the poor customer. Until now. After purchasing a plane/dinner excursion for Dallas (only going to be there four days), I viewed the voucher (a must before knowing how to schedule) and found the company to be booked all the days I'll be in Dallas. Does Groupon care? Nope.

Their asinine policy, "view the voucher - no refund" would make sense if the consumer DIDN'T HAVE TO VIEW THE VOUCHER TO SCHEDULE THE EXCURSION. Customer service response was, "No refund. Can I help you with something else." I feel even just refunding with Groupon Dollars would be a valid response. I wouldn't get my money returned but I would get the opportunity for something else. Instead, completely out of $159. And they think I need help with anything else!! Here, I received my shoes on August 21, and then sent a message three days later asking for an exchange. I received no response, even though the seller advertises a 14-day guaranteed return. I sent another message in a few days, this time requesting a complete refund. I still received no response.

The third time, I alerted Groupon, and they guaranteed that the seller would contact me in 48 hours. They never did, and Groupon failed to respond to my fourth message afterwards. I have never come across a business playing 'hide and seek' for a simple exchange request for a different shoe size. Groupon had advertised a specific type of earphones. The ones that came in the mail were entirely different than what was pictured in the ad. When I tried to leave a review on the Groupon site to warn others of the bait n' switch, the review feature was disabled. The photo online had also been changed. I'm guessing I'm not the only one who complained about getting a different set of earphones than what was originally advertised.

Since other buyers had posted pictures of the original product, my guess is the product was oversold so they started sending a substitute product in its place. Luckily I didn't spend too much but I'd never use Groupon Goods again. I contacted customer service by chat and they said they'd get back to me. I contacted Groupon via chat and then was forward to their customer service via email where I attached information needed for a refund. Like others I was told no refund after 24 hours etc.. I argued that their restrictions are null and void due to Covid19 and the fact their partners and their venues are permanently closed with no postpone date. I got a response from Groupon via email stating that when the show is canceled with no postpone, I will receive a refund. They claimed to be in constant contact with their partners and their venues, so why wasn't I refunded months ago? My groupon account says refunded but groupon confirmed I was not.

When I spoke with the manage at the venue, not only did he cc'd me on email to groupon that the facilities were permanently closed and no postpone date, he said they sent Groupon this correspondence back in March. It was a task getting the manager to communicate what was required by groupon, but finally he did only to be stalled again by Groupon. Groupon responded quickly when telling you you can't get a refund, but even after I provided what they requested from me regarding the show and payment used and information from the venue, which was confirmation that they are permanently closed with no postpone date, groupon is not responding. I'm told via chat it is escalated to their "Live Team". Why couldn't the original team honor the refund after they received what was asked from me and the venue? I have sent numerous emails that the manager is cc'd on with no success.

We all should continue to fight, escalate to court until a refund is issue. At this point it's illegal what they're doing and I feel the venue should do more and be accountable for partnering with groupon and not fighting for their customer. I am not stopping until I get my refund of $141. This is inhumane unethical and Groupon should be sued and shut down during or after refunds are released. Don't Stop Fighting bc groupon can't beat a whole community of customers demanding a refund during this unprecedented time.

I have used Groupon for years and would previously have rated them highly. However, they have recently shown themselves to be very incompetent in many ways. At the end of July this year I purchased a voucher for a hair salon and used the Groupon booking tool to book and receive confirmation of my appointment. I turned up to my appointment at the confirmed time, 3 days after booking, to find the company closed. I know these are strange times, but I wouldn't have expected Groupon to be selling services that don't exist AND taking specific bookings and sending confirmations for it.

I immediately wrote to let them know, and they appear to have removed the service from their listing. They informed me that they would refund me - albeit not taking into account the time I wasted by going into the city, the fuel/parking, and extreme disappointment over it as I was left to stand outside an empty salon, having been looking forward to this very much, all as a result of them selling a service they clearly hadn't verified. (The company had been closed for months so I really don't know how/why they were selling services and arranging appointments for them?)

What made it worse is that when I went to book a massage at a different salon (NOT a hair salon, and a salon with a totally different name, in a different town/county) which was going to be a birthday treat for myself, I discovered that Groupon had cancelled/refunded that and not the haircut voucher! (despite telling them the name of the salon that wasn't open and they can clearly see what I'd booked and had yet to claim).

Over 3 weeks and numerous frustrating emails later, I am STILL waiting for the original refund for the non-service, and for the voucher that THEY cancelled for no reason to be reinstated or re-purchased at the original purchase price. It's hard to believe that they still haven't sorted it out or responded to several of my emails, and I can't get over the sheer incompetence of it all.

It is unfortunate that I will no longer be able to use them, as I did previously very much like Groupon but I can no longer trust them to check they are selling genuine services, or to get it right when there is an issue and they're refunding vouchers that shouldn't be refunded, which to me is incomprehensible. The last email I sent was to ask that they make the refunds back to my original payment card rather than their automatic transfer to a Groupon credit voucher that expires after 12 months - especially as these refunds are down to their ineptitude. I will update this review once this is cleared and sorted.

Groupon used to be one of my favorite 'deal finder' websites. As of late it has turned into a big scam arena. I recently decided to re-tread the waters after dealing with a previously scammy website (through a Groupon deal). I bought a local voucher but due to COVID, the company could not follow through on their delivery. This company was more than helpful in ensuring a refund on what extra I had spent, but the Groupon representatives I spoke to refused to refund me (except in Groupon Bucks - a website gift card) and even disconnected me at the end of the chat while I was in the middle of typing. Groupon has a policy for local vouchers that only allows a refund during the timeframe of 3 days. Because this local voucher was a flower delivery service, I did not know the company couldn't deliver until a week out (they had tried, but couldn't get a local shop out for delivery). They strictly adhered to this policy and refused the refund.

This kind of behavior was insulting, to be abruptly "hung up on" (it was an online chat). But most importantly to you, I'd like to point out their inability to refund. They have decided to eat the money I spent, going directly to them and no others. I would say, if you are trying this website out - DON'T. But if you do, understand you will likely not get your money back if an issue or scam occurs.

WTF???? I’ll go to small claims if this is necessary. How am I going to pay for a ticket that never had a chance to use if the whole state has closed down due to a deadly virus???? Ahhh I want my money back.

In addition to a restaurant voucher, I purchased almost $500 dollars worth of concert tickets for the 2020 summer season. In Michigan (everywhere) all concerts were either cancelled, or, postponed until 2021. And all restaurants closed. When the first concert (Alice Cooper) was cancelled I immediately contacted Groupon rep (Jeevan S.) via Chat (to request a refund back to my credit card (original form of payment). They asked for 2-3 weeks to hear back from the venues and would send an email update- No problem - For the restaurant - they said they would extend for 1 year or give a site credit -- At the time, I didn't have a problem with the resolution on the restaurant -

About a month later, I did hear back - The email said they were crediting my account and giving me "Groupon Bucks " for the concert - I contacted them once again thru chat, explained my situation; and they stated All they can do is offer “Groupon Bucks - I reminded the rep of the "extraordinary event refund policy which ALL the concerts were subject to ---and he simply replied "Groupon Bucks " is all they can do.. Now I am pissed...

I contacted my credit card company (CHASE) and filed a complaint for lack of product and service For ALL concerts as well as the restaurant. I supplied Chase with every transaction including a copy of the extraordinary event policy. It took a little over a month for it to be resolved -- And All funds were credited back to my Chase CR. Card. I HIGHLY suggest that ANYONE having an issue with Groupon- to file a claim with their credit card company.

To be clear - I had been a loyal customer to GROUPON for years until this experience. I will NEVER use them again and discourage EVERYONE from doing so. For what it's worth; Compared to others; my issue was a relatively small amount, FYI - Groupon tried to do the same to people that had purchased VERY expensive trips through Groupon Travel -- There are horror stories from people getting credited over $5000 dollars in "Groupon Bucks" and sadly, It took threats from States Attorney Generals to get Groupon to comply and give refunds. Read for yourself - It's a sham of a company that needs to out of business. It is my belief that In a few short months Groupon will declare Bankruptcy in attempt to further screw its customers and rid itself of debt.

When I called the salon to schedule the service, I was told that they no longer honored Groupons and I should contact Groupon for a refund. I did this and was told that my purchase was ineligible for refund to my credit card and my only option was to accept "Groupon Bucks" for a future purchase. I protested this since I had already purchased a replacement service and was not sure that I would use the Groupon Bucks in the future. Ultimately, they refused repeatedly and I learned a valuable lesson - this company's policies lack integrity in my opinion. Since they couldn’t not provide me A non smoking room I checked out the same day. I tried contacting Groupon by phone, and told to email the problem in which I did.

More than two customer rep were asking for proof of my check out. I sent them the invoice and was told they can’t give me back a refund with no legitimate explanation.. I strongly suggest customers do not use Groupon services because when things go bad with their third parties, they will not assist... Bottom Line I learned my lesson to just book straight at the hotel websites and not ever booked or do any purchasing through Groupon.

Do not use Groupon! DO NOT USE GROUPON. They refused to give me a refund for a service that was canceled by the company themselves, despite me asking for a refund the day after I purchased it and their policy of a guaranteed refund if requested within 3 days of purchase. This was a $300 purchase. Their reasoning is so that you can "support local businesses" instead of receiving a refund. This is interesting because individuals cannot support businesses if they themselves do not have money for luxury. Your money is better off being spent with the company themselves. Many times the companies will honor groupon prices if you purchase directly through them instead.

In May 2020 I intended to order a few items from Groupon. The items were 2 toilet bowl lights, 3 oven liners and a set of bath towels. Somehow this turned into 4 toilet bowl lights, 6 oven liners & 2 sets of towels. The website doubled my order and sent the items to 3 different addresses I had in my account. I live in Philadelphia & items also went to New Jersey & Miami. The Miami address was my daughter's college address from where she had graduated a year earlier. The New Jersey address belongs to my adult disabled nephew.

I was in isolation due to COVID 19, am an older woman so there was no way for me to get to NJ, let alone Miami. When I tried thru customer service to get this resolved I was told I had to return the items to get a refund. No one even offered to send me a label for returns. And when I explained I could not get to NJ or Miami I was told they could not do anything until I returned the merchandise. On my 1st attempt with customer service I was told I would get a refund, on my 2nd attempt I was told I would get a credit and now I can't get either even though I returned the items & paid $24 shipping fee myself.

After waiting 10 days after returning the items I heard nothing. I contacted customer service again & got the run around. Finally I was told that a request was being sent to the merchants & I would hear from someone soon. Three days later I received an email saying a request was sent & the reason I was requesting a refund was because the items were defective. I NEVER said anything about anything being defective.

Now in total it has been almost two months since the Groupon system in error sent me extra items and I have NOT received a refund, a credit or even acknowledgement they received the items back. I even wrote to the CEO about 3 weeks ago & got no response. It appears that while consumers have been expected to understand delayed deliveries due to the pandemic Groupon has done nothing to bend their rules & regulations due to the pandemic. It is outrageous & disappointing to be treated this way. Without a doubt I have been robbed since I paid for items which I no longer have and Groupon still has my money. Once this is resolved, if ever, I will never use Groupon again & will most definitely discourage my friends & family from doing so as well.

It's difficult to reach customer service and if/ once I have this issue resolved, I will not be a customer in the future. The concerts were canceled due to COVID-19, so it's even more unacceptable, beyond the already misleading policy. Horrible customer service.

Finally, in the event you receive an exchange or refund, we’ll also give you a promo code worth $10 to use toward your next local experience—which will be good for a full year." Not to mention Groupon's extraordinary event policy states "If an event is cancelled & not rescheduled, we will automatically refund the amount paid to the purchaser." None of this have been honored by groupon. Instead I've only been given excuses for my 2 concerts that have been cancelled due to covid-19.

After several emails/chats groupon eventually gave me "groupon bucks" for the 2 cancelled shows but still not an actual refund & won't honor rich williams promise. I would like my money back and not be forced to use on something I do not want or need. Terrible customer service. I could understand if I tried to return my purchase, but I did not, it was taken away from me and so was my $70. Very very upset.

Recently I purchased a Groupon for a visit to Dignity Veterinary Services, Chandler Arizona. I requested a simple pregnancy test on a 2 year old cat that I had rescued. Apparently, I was in for the biggest bait and switch job in my entire life! The receptionist said they would come to the car and take her in (due to Covid-19 they were not allowing owners in the clinic. I called the office and was told that my cat was very sick and would require a blood test and x-rays. I agreed to have these done even though I had no real explanation as to why they were required.

Several hours later I was told I could come get my cat and was charged $70 for medication for her and told that the doctor had “squeezed a nipple“ and that milk had come out of it and that my cat was in all probability pregnant. However although the X-ray showed a possible kitten on one side it showed a “mass“ on the other view. The doctor was sending the results of the blood test and x-rays to a radiologist to get further reading.

The following day the vet doctor said that she was distraught because this was a life-threatening emergency and my cat's life was in my hands and what did I want to do. She quoted prices to put my pet to sleep or I could opt for surgery. She hadn’t heard back from the radiologist but she had a 36 hour window to “terminate“. What a thing to tell a pet owner!. I did not know exactly what she was saying but she just kept saying these things it was rather hard to understand what she was talking about so I waited up in well into the evening and into the night because of this 36 hour window that she had mentioned thinking that my cat was gonna die. I did not receive a phone call back and I fell asleep sometime after midnight.

The following day I had to call the office and the doctor called me back saying she and when I asked her why she didn’t call me the night before because the radiologist called her at 2 AM. Now things are getting fishy! She told me the doctor was in the Netherlands. Apparently there are no veterinary radiologists in Arizona! It looked like my cat was pregnant and would require a hysterectomy to save her life. My cat was suffering from a disease called pyometra and that without the surgery death was imminent. She said she’d have to ask the owner and see what she could do to get this emergency surgery done. Interestingly, their website lists her as the owner! Of course I was hysterical, crying and trying to figure out where I was going to get the money for a surgery.

When I talked with my daughter, an out of state vet tech, she questioned why I hadn’t t sought a second opinion. The vet had made it seem like there was no time but emergency surgery was the only option and hesitating would cause my pet’s life. The day of the surgery when I called to get all of the information about what I need to do prior to surgery the receptionist told me that my cat would be either first or second of the surgeries scheduled for that day. I was astonished! I was told that the owner had given special permission to the doctor to open up to do this emergency surgery as it turned out they were nine emergency surgery performed that day!

I was also told that my cat was the second in line for surgery at 8 AM and yet I did not hear from anybody but the receptionist at 11:30 to tell me that my cat was out of surgery. All the time I was not allowed to enter the clinic. I had never met this doctor face-to-face. I had no idea what was going on with my pet and began to have some serious suspicions. If she had surgery at 8 o’clock in the morning which was over by 8:30 in the morning why is it that I am calling at 1:30 in the afternoon and being told that I can’t come and get my pet until 4? I had called a friend since I am handicapped I don’t drive and we went to get my cat. I had to pound on the door which was locked and they eventually let me in. I insisted on speaking with the doctor. The first question I asked was “was she pregnant?

Dr. ** replies, "Oh no no she had a perfectly beautiful uterus." Well OK I said, "What does that mean she had a perfectly beautiful uterus?" She tells me my cat couldn’t have been pregnant because she was spayed. "Oh, then you did a hysterectomy?" "Well no," she says, "There was no need to. Her uterus is healthy." "Ok so what did you do? A totally unnecessary surgery?"

Yesterday I took my cat to have her incision checked. I called and said I wanted to be present during the examination. Once inside the clinic, the receptionist said she was taking my cat into the back for “vitals” and that she would bring her right back. 5 minutes later she brings my pet back to me still in her carrier and says the doctor wants to speak to me. Dr. ** comes out and tells me. ”I just examined her." How, when, and why was I not brought back into the exam room. Vitals and an examination in less than 5 minutes, all without my permission. To add insult to injury, Dr. ** tells me I need to bring my kitty back in for more blood tests (only $190).

I would’ve put this as a review on the Groupon but apparently they don’t want negative reviews and that is why the Groupon was never submitted (I gave the voucher to them). As I started this off, I love Groupon and buy very, very often from Groupon. I did not expect to be swindled this way from a trusted source. Groupon needs to know about this. I read the reviews for DVS - I’m not the only one.

I requested Groupon to issue the refund of the 2nd ticket (again, separate transaction so I had to issue separate request) and have been given the run-around for weeks. I emailed the event coordinator to request another notice stating they would honor a refund, which they obliged. I again forwarded this to Groupon (as Groupon requested) and they are still saying they will not issue the refund.

Don't purchase anything through Groupon, go direct to seller and ask if they will honor the Groupon sale, most will honor the sale. Don't use Groupon! Go direct to vendor!

I called GWL to reschedule and they told me that their logs are so backed up they won't be using Groupon for the remainder of the year. They told me I'd have to reschedule directly through them and get a refund from Groupon. Groupon doesn't have a way to call them so you can only do that is by chat. I told the representative the whole story and asked for a refund. He agreed. I called GWL and rescheduled. I chatted again and was told that in order to support businesses like GWL, my Groupon bucks wouldn't expire and they won't refund me in my original payment.

I filed a grievance with my bank, Wells Fargo, which they denied saying Groupon instructed them that their Groupon bucks will be available to use for GWL when the merchant decides to use them again. The event has not been postponed, and even if it does get postponed, we will not be attending it due to the circumstances. Not only do we no longer want to attend the event IF it is postponed, we need to support our families as best we can which includes financial matters.

Groupon refused to issue the refund. Groupon explicitly stated that they put their merchant connections first. While I am sympathetic toward all that are negatively impacted at this time, it is unfortunate that Groupon is not to their customers. This negative and selfish experience (on Groupon's end) has completely changed my outlook of this business. It speaks volumes when the customer is not put first, especially during a time like this. I used to think Groupon was a business which valued giving their customers good experiences at a discounted rate. At least, that's not how they've been taught to sell it. So I can feed my toddler junk food and tell my 6 month old tough luck because there's no formula on Groupon. I will not be using this website any longer. Waste of $250. Thanks for nothing Groupon.

I am not happy with Groupon’s service or customer care.

    1. I am STILL waiting for 2 more refunds for goods ordered on 13th March 2020.
    a) 20kg Basmati rice and
    b) 30 packs of 85g chicken noodles.

THESE ITEMS HAVE NOT ARRIVED. I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THE RETAILER SELLING UNDER THE GROUPON UMBRELLA. THE MONEY FOR THESE ITEMS WAS DEBITED FROM MY ACCOUNT BY GROUPON, ON 16th March 2020. The expected refunds have NOT reached my bank account. Groupon has not even acknowledged that they are aware that my products got lost/stolen/were never sent. I have made it clear that because I am out of pocket financially, I will NOT accept a Groupon credit note.

    2. I am also still waiting for a refund on a pair of ‘Lounge pants’ after the totally wrong pair of cheaply made, thin, stretchy, nylon trousers were sent-both the design and colour were wrong. THERE WAS NO RETAILER’s LABEL ATTACHED TO THIS ITEM. These trousers were NOT worth the ‘original price’ of £40. I believe that this transaction came under ‘false advertising’. I DID receive a refund (22 Mar) for a pink fluffy hooded cardigan that was ALSO cheaply made with no Retailer’s label and was a totally different garment to the advertised picture. I was not asked to send this product back. I also believe that this transaction came under ‘false advertising’.

    3. I am also asking for a refund from 12 Jumbo toilet rolls sold under the ‘CUSHEEN’ description. The real ‘CUSHEEN’ product is a soft, thick, good quality tissue. What arrived is a poor imitation; a thin 2-ply tissue that doesn’t rip off neatly. I also believe that this transaction came under ‘false advertising’.

I have been in touch with Groupon so many times and am so disappointed that my problems are not being resolved..... 7 weeks later.

I noticed I'm not the only one that has had this experience. You can't talk to anyone, so you're left with only chat support in which most of them would regurgitate the voucher instructions. I needed to buy flowers for mother's day, so I bought a 1800flowers voucher. The issue was that no one could clearly tell me how to redeem the voucher. I chatted with Groupon and called 1800flowers. The rep at the flower company said that she had gotten many calls from groupon customers. She said that she was unsure how to redeem the voucher either and that my voucher could have been expired. So I went back and forth. Groupon cancelled that voucher and I asked to be refunded back to my Paypal and the groupon rep said she would. However, what they did was revert my payment to groupon bucks.

Long story short, I asked groupon several times to refund my money and they stated they could not. They told me that I could buy something else, but they would not be able to refund me. I was livid as I did not want anything else, but some mother's day flowers. I filed a complaint with PayPal and they got me my money back in full. Groupon needs to do better by their customers. That left a bad impression with me as I've bought vouchers in the past, but after this situation I don't think I'll be a repeat customer. I do appreciate that PayPal was able to get my money back.

Groupon have committed fraud on my account during Covid19. I received an email stating I made 2 purchases which I never made. I immediately tried to cancel it using the link in the email but the link did not work, I called them but the call centre automated message said they closed during COVID 19. I then emailed them. They replied 48 hours later asking me to confirm no family members made the purchase. I replied immediately saying I have no family members. They then replied 24 hours later stating there's nothing they can do. So they took my credit card details and made a fraudulent purchase and now refuse to refund me. Do not ever use Groupon again. They steal your bank details and commit fraud. I am a vulnerable person and they are taking advantage of me.

We went into the hotel hoping that it wouldn’t be a line in however we stood in line well over 30 minutes nervous and scared for our life.

I finally made it to the front desk handed the guy my Groupon information and my identification along with a credit card to purchased the Groupon. The guy was so rude and declined my check in after stating the name did not match what was on my ID. I begged and pleaded with the clerk at the flamingo hotel to please let me and my family’s check in that my Facebook name deferred from the name on the Groupon in error. I called and emailed Groupon and I’ve been doing this for well over 30 days I’ve yet to receive a phone call of a response from anyone in regards to the $238 spent! To Whom it may concern, Early last week I was contacted by a Groupon representative regarding starting a Groupon campaign for my Massage Therapy business located in Mystic, CT. She had contacted me every day, sometimes every couple of hours in order to secure me as a “merchant” and to “sign” an agreement with Groupon. I explained to her that my experience has been that Groupon is for those Massage Therapists that are desperate for work, or are fresh out of school, newly licensed that are desperately trying to build a clientele. I know this because I have seen on Groupon’s website the Therapists in my area that are offering Groupon “deals” and I know most of these people personally and their situation.

I told her that Groupon would not be beneficial to my business, or any established, experienced Massage Therapist. I would simply be losing more money than I would make by using the Groupon service, but she persisted. Therefore, after much back and forth with your representative I decided to submit and agreed to give Groupon a try “very short term”, as I told her, to see how it goes. The only reason I am able to do this is because of the situation I am in. I am already successful with an established clientele and I am not financially struggling (like most MT’s), and I have little to NO overhead due to the location of my business, which is the center of this issue.

After I had officially signed the Groupon contract your representative asked me the location of my business. She told me that the address she had and stated “it looks like a residential area”. I replied that my office is the complete bottom level of my house. It has its own separate parking lot, and its own separate entrance. Clients never see where I live. In fact, a client would need to drive another 1/10 mile up the hill just to see my personal parking area, and the front door to where I live. The inside of my business consists of a waiting room, two Therapy rooms, a bathroom and my office/library. This has been inspected and approved as a business by the Town of Stonington (Mystic), CT., and is on record as such.

Your rep then stated that this IS in compliance with Groupon’s policy, as long as there is a separate entrance to my business, as I confirmed there is. She said she would continue to process my Groupon ad and prepare it to “go live” on my call and she would get back to me soon. I didn’t hear from her for two days and then she finally wrote and told me that I couldn’t offer a Groupon on your site because my business was located inside my home, which was contrary to what she had already confirmed was accepted before. She concluded that this was due to “an isolated incident” that Groupon had in the past. This angered me and insulted me, and my entire profession.

As a business man, an "isolated" incident DOESN'T warrant a modification in a business’s policy (Groupon’s) and to take it out on an ENTIRE Profession (Massage Therapy). This is like saying: there was an incident with a ** man that was a Groupon merchant, so you can't offer any more ** people as merchants. There is NO difference between this and refusing to run MY Groupon ad because of what someone else did. That is stereotyping. This situation is prejudice and discriminatory by blocking an entire profession for the action of one or even a few, just because I chose the better and more prosperous business direction of having an “in home” office, instead of spending unnecessary money, by renting or leasing.

This has shown me (and others) just how ignorant of a business Groupon really is and how immature their decision makers are. In this day and age of discrimination and stereotyping, perhaps this behavior by Groupon needs to be reported to the proper authorities, or sent to the media outlets so the public is aware of this. What is the difference between where my office is at now (as explained above) and a commercial property, except spending unnecessary amounts of money and having a large overhead? Unfortunately, you will NOT have a satisfactory answer for this question, which will only enforce my feelings about Groupon.

Matter of fact, if you were to do your research you will find that MOST Massage Therapists that have had their License suspended or revoked due to misconduct happens in the "commercial" office and NOT at a residential office. While I understand Groupon’s concern, “incidents” can happen ANYWHERE! They can happen at a "commercial" office just as easily, and more likely than a residential office. If you fact check this, you will learn that I am correct. Where a Professional Office is located should NOT determine the eligibility to become a Groupon Merchant. My business is Registered and a Legal business in the Town of Stonington, CT (look it up at the Town Clerks office). I pay taxes for this business, however, less taxes than I would with a commercial property, which is a great benefit.

I am in this profession to make money, not spend and lose money, which is why I chose this office of my choice. I have several State Licenses, many National Certifications and am FULLY Insured. In my office I sell retail items and receive many referrals from other healthcare Professionals, such as Chiropractors, Orthopedists, Neurologists and a Professional Baseball Team that I work with. I have regular clients that come to this office on a daily basis and LOVE where it is located! I have not had a single complaint in over 15 years of service.

There are simple modifications that can be made by Groupon so that "incidents" don't happen, thus opening the merchant center to those like me, once again. For example, your representative NEVER once asked me for my State issued License so that she could verify who I am, and if I am even Licensed in the Profession and service I will be offering. I found that VERY strange and neglectful. This means I could have been anyone off the street and you were willing to make a Groupon ad for me and offer a service without verification? If I had lied about my office location, which I am sure many do, and gave an address of some business complex, instead of being honest I would have a Groupon ad running today and I wouldn’t be writing this letter.

Do you not think that neglecting to ask a Massage Therapist (or any Professional seeking to offer a Service on Groupon) for License verification is odd and unprofessional behavior? I think most would agree with me. You should ALWAYS ask for a Professional License and verify it with the issuing State. This is VERY easy to do on any States automated system right on the web and it only takes a minute. On that SAME verification system it will usually even tell you if that person has ever had disciplinary action against them, any official complaints or ever had their license suspended or revoked for ANY reason.

You should also always require proof of liability insurance too. You should also always require the Therapists’ License number on their Groupon ad, so that the customer can check this person out for themselves before purchasing the Groupon, and then if there is an issue afterwards, the consumer can personally contact the Therapists’ governing body to file an official complaint. If you want to go even further, you could require references, personal and/or professional before you post their Groupon live. All of the above are already required by reputable sites such as Thumbtack, Yelp and many others.

There are SO many ways to overcome any fear of “incident” by Groupon and therefore ALLOW good, reputable businesses like mine to post Services on Groupon too. I should NOT be punished for this. Otherwise, like I said, this is prejudice and discriminatory. If the above suggestions were mandated by Groupon, then there wouldn't be ANY reason why ANYONE holding a State License shouldn't be accepted by Groupon as a merchant, regardless of where there office is located. This is all common sense.

If any incident occurs thereafter, then the Therapist should be reported to their governing body (Licensing State) by both Groupon and the Customer and be reported to their local authorities, depending on the severity of the incident. I assure you, they will have much more to lose than Groupon. I have been doing this for a long time (over 15 years). I know what I am talking about. I know how to run a good, successful business.

Perhaps Groupon should heed my advice, suggestions and my experience, and change their discriminatory and ignorant policies towards massage therapist as they are right now, and welcome someone like me to be a merchant! I could only make Groupon better and earn you more revenue as a company. I am also a Groupon stockholder and VERY disappointed in what I have invested in right now. I ask that they remedy this issue promptly. If I am ignored, this same letter will be sent to many media outlets and several others in the population that have a large internet presence, just like I have done here. Thank you.

I ordered a box of 30 disposable face masks. I was very excited to even find any. I received the email that my order would ship soon. After that I heard nothing. I checked the tracking and it said that it was with a shipping partner. That was April 7th. After watching for a couple of weeks, I finally decided it just wasn't coming and went to request a refund only to be told that I could only be refunded in Groupon bucks. That was on April 21st. This is the second time I have not received an item and I want nothing more to do with Groupon!

I order masks back around April 2nd. They were suppose to be shipped and sent by April 8th or so. Saw the date change to the 17th. Tried cancelling the order. On April 3rd they said the window. Got a refund expired in one day. Still have not received the masks and Groupon is closed and you can’t get in contact with anyone. They faked a preshipping label. Lied and said they shipped it on April 15th. Ended says USPS has it. Usps said the product was never shipped. Don’t Order nothing from Groupon. They are stealing people’s money.
