Don’t get scammed by Groupon when purchasing the large photo heads! The shipping alone is over $27 per item—I ordered two and was charged $54 just for shipping. I only paid $20 for the Groupon itself, which makes no sense. When I reached out, they refused to offer a refund or any kind of accommodation. Really disappointing experience. Groupon just lost a customer today.

Since the first of the month, April 2026, I noticed that there were already two people that were screwed by Groupon's Sam's Club discounted membership. Well, make me the third. On April 7, 2026, I made the purchase for the discounted Sam's Club membership via Groupon. I followed all the necessary procedures to redeem the voucher, and Sam's would not honor it. While chatting with the agents, I was informed that once the voucher has been viewed, a refund cannot be issued. I stated that it is not my fault that you sold me this voucher under false pretenses. Therefore, I have put the charge in dispute.

Groupon is a scam. I hired a service provider to clean my grout on the tile floors and he showed up for the 2nd appointment (1st appointment he was 3 hours late and had to reschedule) with a carpet cleaning machine and gave up after 5 minutes. I asked for a refund and he was confrontational and said that's not his problem. Groupon dragged their feet for 3 months and then gave me credits. I disputed with PayPal as I want my money back. They denied my request. Now I have to use this garbage service to redeem $266 in bucks. Do not use this crap.

I used Groupon once, purchased an oil change about $75. I couldn't get my truck to town and wasn't aware of an expiration date on the coupon, that information is important especially for elderly (77) with limited driving privileges. Lesson learned, won't happen again with Groupon. I'm not blaming the oil change company, though maybe should, seems that the occasional exception might be a plus for Valvoline.

GROUPON IS A SCAM— Stay FAR away from dealing with Groupon. They scammed me out of $110 over Valentine’s Day. I bought the first Groupon for $55.08. It never showed up so I bought another one. They refuse to return my money on the first one. I used the second one with FTD florist a day before delivery. They said they can’t deliver. It will give you your money back and now it was three days since I bought it so Groupon refused to refund. They have no phone number to call them, there is no email for them. You have to find a small chat icon and you talk to an AI person that doesn’t care about anything. Finally, you get a live person and they don’t want to help you.

The moral of the story is stay as far away from Groupon as possible. Deal directly with the merchant group. Groupon is selling substandard products, substandard experiences, no customer service, repeat - no customer service. You are on your own. You are out that money.!!! DO NOT GIVE GROUPON ANY MONEY. DO NOT BUY FROM GROUPON. STAY AWAY FROM GROUPON. I CAN’T STRESS THIS ENOUGH.. Good luck.

I bought a Groupon for a massage and facial from Style and Elegance by Alexa on February 3, 2026. Confirmation was received at 11:42 PM, meaning it was purchased 18 minutes before February 4. The business's Yelp review said it was closed when I looked on February 7. I asked Groupon for a refund. Groupon told me to contact the business. The merchant told me Yelp was not correct, then told me to refund my voucher. I copied this text exchange and sent screenshots to Groupon on February 7. After two AI chats, three customer service agents, and multiple days, they refused to refund my money. They only provided Groupon bucks, which I am hesitant to rely on after this scam merchant is one of their clients. Groupon is keeping $53.55 of my money at the expense of customer service and trust in their business.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I bought a Groupon for a local spa package a couple weeks ago. I scheduled the service and when I went to View Voucher in the app so the spa could scan and redeem it, it took me to a "Site Temporarily Unavailable" page. I went to their FAQs/Chat and did LITERALLY everything (cleared my cookies, killed and re-started the app, etc.), but none of it worked. Because Groupon does not make available any live support line for help, I was completely stuck and had to pay the full amount of the service out of pocket.

I have attempted twice now to message with Groupon asking for a refund. I don't want Groupon Bucks because I don't have anything else I want AND I don't want to get stuck with the same issue again of their site not working. I could only get a live person on the chat who is in a different country, and they basically told me "we didn't have a site outage," so there is nothing they can do. Now I am down $100+ with no way to resolve this. I will never ever use Groupon again. Not worth it.

I purchased from Groupon one time. I've learned my lesson. I'll never do it again. On Jan. 30, 2026, I purchased a Groupon for HVAC duct cleaning. The company's name is Eco Air Duct Cleaning. NEVER LET THEM IN YOUR HOUSE!!! They called me within 10 minutes after I purchased the Groupon. We set the appointment for Feb. 2. These people showed up at my house. I told them I only needed the air duct cleaned out. The furnace was being removed the next day. The worker opened the furnace and said I had mold in my duct system and it was now going to cost me 800.00 to clean my air ducts. I said no way. Then, he said he could do an air dry cleaning for 400.00. I still said no. I told him to do what I paid for. He refused to do what I paid for. He said if he did it, it would cause mold to spread all over the house. He said he was leaving and he would tell Groupon to give me a refund. I immediately launched a complaint.

I was first told by Groupon since Eco Air refused to do the job I would get a refund. Then, their escalation team took over. It took them 6 days to make a decision. Meanwhile, I had another company come in and test my system and look for mold. There was none. Eco Air was just trying to SCAM more money from me. Now, Groupon's escalation review person (Sanjay) decided to not give me a refund but tried to make me give Eco Air a second chance. I was told to call them again a schedule another appointment. I emailed Sanjay back and told him that I would never let those scammers back in my house again. Then I was told by Groupon it was past my 3 days for a refund. I was no longer eligible to get it.

I had to be persistent and not let them off the hook. I called my bank and had them launch an investigation. I gave Groupon and Eco Air a bad review at the BBB. I continued to write request for my refund. It took 3 weeks, but I got my money back. I will never deal with them again. Don't let them steal from you. It's the PRINCIPLE. (These are the pictures the Eco Air worker took in my furnace after I told him the furnace was being removed. He tried to pass them off as mold.)

The GROUPON company feels extremely deceptive. I attempted to purchase a BJ’s membership through my phone, but canceled the transaction before it was completed because they claimed a verification email was sent that I need to confirm — which I never received. I then bought the membership directly from BJ’s at full price. Despite that, Groupon still charged my credit card. There appears to be no practical way to reach customer support — no working phone number listed and no response through other channels. The numbers my credit card company provided either disconnected immediately or went unanswered. Very frustrating experience. Please be cautious and monitor your charges carefully if you use this service.

Groupon is running a scam on consumers while making them feel confident with a return policy which they fail to honor. Groupon has a voucher system for redeeming purchases. Some purchases do not include shipping but state that the purchase is refundable for 6 days. Here is where the scam comes in. In order to find out the shipping charges (which are outrageous and more than the cost of the item), you have the "view" the voucher. Once you view the voucher, Groupon will no longer refund the purchase. They have intentionally set it up where you can not know how much it costs until it is too late to refund and when you find out that the shipping charges are so high that you wouldn't even follow through, they have your money and don't have to pay the merchant or refund the customer.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Groupon Merchant Support is, without exaggeration, one of the most incompetent and unethical operations I have ever dealt with. My assigned account manager, Diana **, has been completely unreachable for months. She does not return calls, does not respond to emails, and apparently does not do her job at all. Despite multiple written and verbal requests to pause campaigns and close my merchant account, my campaigns were never turned off. Groupon continued running them anyway, generating customers and obligations I explicitly told them I would not accept. This is not a misunderstanding — this is willful negligence.

    I have documented everything:
    Repeated emails ignored
    Voicemails never returned
Campaigns left live after requesting shut down
    Zero accountability

    Zero transparency

There is no real support, no escalation path, and no one who actually takes responsibility. You are passed in circles, given canned responses (if you get any response at all), and left dealing with the financial and operational mess Groupon creates.

Let me be clear: this feels intentionally predatory. Once they have you locked in, they disappear — but the charges and consequences don’t. Merchants are treated as disposable, and account managers like Diana Matta are allowed to ghost clients with zero repercussions. If you are a business owner considering Groupon: don’t do it. You will lose time, money, and sanity. Groupon does not partner with merchants — they exploit them, then vanish when problems arise. This company needs serious oversight, because what they are doing to merchants is unacceptable.

I am writing to formally complain about my unresolved refund request for an activity purchased in Key West. On the day of the scheduled activity, I attempted to cancel and request a refund the same day after realizing I would not be able to attend. I made multiple attempts to contact Groupon customer service but was informed that my request could not be processed because it was “after hours” and would be handled during normal business hours. Relying on this information, I contacted the merchant directly. The merchant clearly stated that they could not assist me and that all refunds must be handled solely by Groupon.

Despite my timely efforts to cancel and repeated attempts to resolve this issue, Groupon later denied my refund request, stating that too much time had passed. This outcome is unacceptable, as the delay was entirely due to Groupon’s inability to process or respond to my request when it was first made. I acted in good faith and followed all instructions provided to me. I should not be penalized for Groupon’s lack of accessible customer service and delayed handling of my request.
