I bought a Groupon for a shotgun experience and was unable to schedule an appt according to the Groupon website so I emailed Groupon, which I have done in the past and was satisfied with their help. Except this time, I was contacted by the someone named Valli, who obviously did NOT read my original complaint and sent me some pre-typed response. I asked to have someone else aid me in scheduling an appointment to which they sent me another pre-typed response, which again did not help me with my problem or in any way highlight the trouble I was having with this business. So Valli did not want to try to contact the company, the next email I received was a refund for the Groupon. I didn't purchase the Groupon to have it refunded with no effort made on Groupon's part. Sincerely VERY disappointed & this customer rep was clearly LAZY so I hope someone from Groupon sees this since there is no other way of contacting them except via email.

I purchase 2-60 minutes massage for $30 each. I was never able to make the appointment because this business never answer the phone. I filed a dispute with the bank and the bank gave credit of $60 dollars and I don't know what Groupon told the bank that they charged again. On the top of that it says on the app that I already used those massages. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GROUPON. THEY ARE SCAMS. And this is the address where you should never buy massages 12085 Southwest Hall Blvd Tigard OR 97223 Phone (503) 568-5746.

Unfortunately my mam had a serious cancer scare and wasn't able to go on a trip bought with Groupon. We rang customer services and explained calmly what had happened and asked for a refund or a longer time schedule to visit. They simple didn't take this serious and basically blamed it on us. We shall not be using Groupon anymore and recommend you not to either. Very disappointed.

Groupon is posting a business listing of my company that misleads people to thinking that I offer Groupon discounts. I very specifically choose not to market through Groupon and do not wish to have my business name associated with them at all. They had us listed as a day spa doing beauty treatments. We offer medical and therapeutic massage and have worked very hard to gain a reputation for that. Our website specifically states that WE ARE NOT A SPA. Furthermore they are advertising pricing that expired in Jan 2015 and causing troubles for me there. They should not be allowed to list a business without consent.

If you get a bad charge on your CC from these folks, good luck getting it resolved. The people that communicate with you are robots pretty much. They follow certain email template. They don't even read your email before they answer you. They just send you a generic email. Probably to discourage further complaints. They promised to put back a bad charge to my account which I believed them and thought the matter was closed. Well a month later when I scanned my statement, the credit was NOT there. These people are absolutely ridiculous in their way of customer service and handling of your money. I will never buy from them again.

I ordered two items to be shipped to my address which previously I updated over a year and a half ago. The billing address and credit card was updated way before I placed the order. The orders, however, both shipped to a 2-year old address. I contacted them BEFORE they shipped but was told by multiple service reps that since it was not within 2 hours of placing the order, they could not change the address or refund me. But it was THEIR mistake, and the items hadn't even shipped yet! I brought this to their attention, and they came back with this candid reply (both on the phone and by live chat) saying how I could've updated my shipping address to the correct one before I placed my order... Even though I had JUST told them my shipping address WAS updated BEFORE I placed my order.
I just got canned responses over and over again like they weren't even listening, just waiting for me to stop talking so they could say their paragraph and be done with the call. No offer of re-sending to correct address, refund, even coupon code for future purchase, NOTHING helpful. Then to top it off they ask if there's anything else they can help me with? No, especially since you were incredibly unhelpful with THIS! After spending probably close to a thousand dollars on Groupons in the past, I will never use it again after this experience on a $30 order. And they don't care at all. Shame on you Groupon. And shame on you people that live at my old address that decided to keep my orders!

Consumers beware. Groupon has the worst customer service. They play games and act like they are trying to help but the truth is, they are doing the exact opposite. You make a purchase and it doesn't go through so you buy the item somewhere else, just to find out the sale when through hours later. 2:30 am to be exact. You have 2 hours to cancel yet who is up at 4:30 am?? Very sneaky!! Now the item is at the post office waiting for me to be inconvenienced once more to take time out of my day to pick it up. People stay away, don't give them your business. There are much better sites with better deals and much better customer service out there.

On July 13 I purchased a Groupon to have my sofa cleaned. I called A+ Air Care LLC to schedule the appointment and received no answer. I left a voice message and waiting for a response. After not receiving a response after one week later I contacted the company and left a second message. Two days later I received a call from a technician who scheduled it for two weeks later. When the technician arrived he looked at the sofa and stated that he was not able to clean it due to the fact that it was microfiber.
I then asked him how I could retrieve my refund and he stated simply, "Call Groupon and they will happily refund your money." I contacted customer support and they stated that they could not refund my money due to the fine print that states nothing about fine print. I contacted them two more times and received the same message. I have done business with Groupon previously and never had any issues until now. I will no longer use this company if this is the way they conduct business.

Customer Service department is terrible, they will not speak to you in person, only via email. Even through email it takes them 5+ days to respond. I have been requesting a refund on a hotel booking I made, when I arrived to check into the hotel with my family of 4 the room was not available. I booked a double queen, the hotel only had a room with one bed available. Check in time was 3, I waited until 3:30 and the room was still not available. When I requested to speak to the manager at the hotel I was told by the receptionist that he was not there and she didn't know when he was coming back. I told the receptionist that was unacceptable, and that my family of 4 could not share one bed. I paid for a room with double beds and that's what I expected.
Groupon continues to run me in circles and is not willing to give me a refund. This business should be shut down, they are stealing from unsuspecting customers and leaving them in vulnerable situations. Who else can I turn to in order to get my money back? There is no penalties for what they are doing to consumers and it's absolutely unacceptable. The hotel is telling Groupon that I never arrived at the hotel to check in which is a complete lie. I have attached the print out that the hotel gave me proving that I was there and that I booked a room with double beds.

I placed an order with Groupon. I then contacted the company I purchased the Groupon for in order to schedule an appointment. I didn't like the company's customer service so I decided to cancel the Groupon. This was all within hours of purchasing the Groupon as they have a 3 day order cancellation window. The order was cancelled on the screen. I checked and refreshed my screen several times to be sure. Approximately 5 days later, I went back to Groupon to see another order. My original cancellation was null and void. The order was back active on my Groupon account. I contacted Groupon about the matter and they gave me "Groupon bucks". I'm not saying don't use the company, but use caution. No matter what the fine print says, ALL ORDERS ARE FINAL.

I am a small business owner, who just opened shop and was contacted by Groupon. The rep who was trying to get on board was amazing, had a great sales pitch- awesome communication- basically I felt comfortable offering a deal with Groupon. I offered that deal 8 weeks ago, and I have not seen ANY payments. We have honored their deals, and have come out of pocket to cover. I would NOT recommend Groupon for small business owners. My exact quote from them was, "There is some type of weird communication between our bank and yours." I do not even know what that means. Everything else comes through just fine. As I read through reviews, this seems to be a consistent problem - and we are now filing suit for the hurt to our cash flow. I have emailed and communicated with several people - making sure I leave a paper trail for my attorney - to no avail.

When I first started using Groupon they seem to really care if you had a problem with the company and would refund you if there was an issue. The last two companies that I bought from have been horrible!!!! The last one being elegant image for laser Lipo 4 treatment for $125. They did not work and I was told that they would only work if you get nine treatments. The first four are just so you can test out how it works. I was never told that by Elegant Image or my Groupon upon purchasing.

Once my mother had contacted Smugglers to book the dates they told her that it was their block out period and she was unable to book on these dates even though this was not stated on the voucher! Smuggles continued to tell her that the block out dates had been written incorrectly by Groupon and that the matter remained with them.
Once I contacted Groupon after it has taken several weeks of back to back emails and phone calls do I get the reply "sorry we cannot refund your money as you have missed the 7 day refund period but here is the money in Groupon credit"!!! Groupon will not take responsibility for their mistake and then after want you to spend your $300+ with them again after you have had such a horrible experience!!! I bought a groupon but did not use it within the Groupon deal time limit. I was not concerned about this since my money would go toward services at the business, i.e. "Groupons never expire!". I contacted the merchant to ask what products were available and was told that I had scheduled an appointment and not given 48 hours cancellation notice per their groupon and I had forfeited my $229. Firstly, I never scheduled the appointment! Secondly, the merchant's statement re: forfeiture of money paid states only "48 hours cancellation required" and nothing about failure to cancel resulting in redemption of gift certificate.
I contacted Groupon via phone and email. After months of following up with Groupon, their customer service department sent me an email stating that the "fine print" states that if a customer doesn't give 48 hours cancellation notice, that they forfeit their money/groupon. I responded that their fine print does not say this and quoted the text accurately pointing out it says nothing about forfeiting all money paid. Groupon then sent a series of 3 emails over 8 weeks, stating they were working on a resolution with the merchant. When I did not hear from Groupon for 6 weeks, I inquired as to the status of the inquiry. Groupon finally responded that since the merchant says that I redeemed the Groupon by not giving 48 hours notice, that I had redeemed it as far as Groupon is concerned and that's that. I believe I have been scammed by both Groupon and the merchant, Beauty Chateau in Elk Grove, CA.

I am now unable to take delivery of the item so long after it should have arrived, so effectively have paid for nothing. I have pointed this out several times over period of almost a month & requested to make formal complaint several times with Groupon but they have ignored this and provided a "template" answer to advise the item "will be with me soon" each time.
Groupon have refused to refund the purchase, despite having failed to meet the terms of the sale delivery. Groupon had a deal on Lasix Surgery. Instead of four thousand dollars, it would be two thousand. I was told to call a phone number to book my appointment. I thought it was strange that I didn't reach the actual salon. That day, I left work early to be there on time weeks later, I showed up for my consultant. The manager at the spa said I wasn't scheduled. She told me that whoever booked me was famous for not letting the business know that they scheduled people. There was no way they could see me. While there I chatted with the manager and realized that the surgery wasn't for me. They said I was not a good candidate. I told them I wouldn't reschedule.
When I got my credit card statement, I was charged. I emailed Groupon and they said it wasn't refundable. They suggested I "regift" it. My credit card company is fighting the charge. This is the second time this has happened to me. I bought a Birthday Party Package through Groupon the first time the park closed and was not informed of the resorts closing nor was I compensated. I was told I had to use the party package at a later date. I call and made reservations for the party for Sunday June 28, 2015 and the park closed again without informing me again. I found out they were closed when I decided to call and confirm my party reservations and was told they were closed until Wednesday.

I have recently been very displeased with Groupon's customer service regarding the problems I encountered with my 1st ever order with them. I ordered a lens kit for an iPhone for a birthday gift. I received the package in the mail and I was so excited. I opened it up to make sure everything was okay with the order - which wasn't the case. Seeing as the birthday was a few days away from the time I noticed the problem, I called Groupon's customer service. They told me I would be contacted within 48 hours, from the Good's team, to get the issue resolved and have the other lens mailed to me. No such phone call came. I called back a second time, and was told the same spiel - I'd get a phone call so they could send me my lens. No such phone call came, again. Agitated, and almost three weeks later, I called them for the final time.
They tried to tell me that someone would be in contact with me, but I refused this service and asked to be put through to Goods themselves, which the operator VERY reluctantly did. Hoping that I'd finally be able to get my missing lens (keep in mind the person who got them as a gift is still awaiting the last lens at this point), and I was told I wouldn't be getting it. I was basically told that I was SOL because "it seemed like they took care of the issue and sent out the missing lens when I called the first time", which is total BS. When I told the Goods worker about being told by the first operator that someone would call me within 48 hours, she feigned that she knew nothing about that policy and said they weren't allowed to call customers. That's when I lost it. I had someone waiting for a part of their birthday gift, and Groupon was refusing to send me a replacement lens. The best they could do was give me a "$5 Groupon Bucks voucher".
When I asked for the manufacturer's number to try to resolve the problem directly, I was told that they "didn't have a contact number for the manufacturer. COMPLETE BS!!! WHAT COMPANY USES A MANUFACTURER AND DOESN'T HAVE ANY WAY TO CONTACT THEM??? I sincerely do not believe that my case was handled well or properly. Unfortunately, none told the true story. They just didn't want to give us the cash back! Liars.

When I bought the Groupon there was a drop down box to list the number of people booking. I clicked three adults. When we arrived at the resort I was told the room was for two adults not three. I called Groupon to inquire and was told the offer was for two adults. We had to pay an additional $100.00 per day for our son to stay in our room. Why in the world would I buy a Groupon for two adults knowing our son would be traveling with us??? Why didn't Groupon title the offer Vacation for Two Adults rather than be underhanded and misleading? This is definitely a case of false advertisement.

I ordered a set of Monster Cable 302-XLN Audio Cable from Groupon and it took 3 weeks for me to receive my order. And if that was not bad enough because I complained about how long it took to get my order, they sent me defective RCA's to boot. My RCA's came to me with one of the lead wires twisted and smashed. I would have sent them right back but I needed to finish up my car audio install. So I used them anyway and just hoped and prayed that they would not malfunction. Well so much for that because I started having problems with the right side of my cars speakers playing really low and with distortion when I first start my car up. So I dealt with it for a few weeks hoping it would go away on its own.
Well it didn't so tonight I swapped them out for the same exact RCA's, only difference is I bought them from Amazon and the problem magically disappeared. I think Groupon sold me defective product on purpose because I complained about the long wait for my order. I will never ever purchase from Groupon again. I purchased a groupon about an hour before me trying to check in and was told there was no reservation. After calling the Congress Hotel to make sure I would be able to check in.. Then I made the purchase of a room for $154 - so with that being said I went on to make a purchase thru Congress for around or about $160 - not a big difference in price. After contacting groupon to see about the money I paid I was then told I wouldn't be able to get a refund or Groupon bucks a stay at the Congress hotel due to a "NO SHOW." I feel terrible for even going there and making the purchase at groupon.. I've never had such horrible customer service in my life. That's basically 2 days of work for me thrown into thin air. I was a no show.. How when I went in and purchased the room within the same hour and not to mention the room I paid to stay in was terrible. I feel horrible and very sad by this experience..
How is there nothing you can do when you have several rooms avail but won't allow me to use one when indeed I paid.. So it's like I paid over $300 to stay in a shack for 4 hours. If it wasn't for me not wanting to drive back south after hanging with family I haven't seen in years to go to my uncle's funeral, I would've never even bought a Hotel room. This is highway Robbery and its sad that I keep being told there is nothing that can be done to assist me with something that was paid for and unused. It's not like I'm asking for a hand out.. just good customer service to assist me in my time of need which is why it's called customer service. I wish Congress would read their reviews to see how people deem them and be of better assistance.. Then they say I booked the next day.. It was the same day - just early in the morning like maybe 2:00-3:00 am.

I purchased 2 electronics from Groupon after seeing their products were a few dollars cheaper than their competitors. I quickly have realized why. They are running a complete scam. I purchased a HTC refurbished phone for $199. When I received the phone OVER A MONTH after my online order was placed, it looked like someone took their phone out of their pocket and dropped it in a random shipping box. I tried to contact customer service to return the phone and could never get anyone on the phone. Each time I called it said that the hold time was over an hour, and even when I waited no one ever came on the line (over an hour later). I was not able to return the phone and can't use it because it is in worse condition than the phone I was trying to replace.
I also ordered an iPad as a gift for my father for Christmas for $239. He didn't realize it right away but the phone jack doesn't work at all, it won't even hold the cord in place. At this point I was irate and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau hoping they could help me. They responded to the complaint saying since the purchase was outside of the 15 day window I am stuck with it. I also tried to get my money back via my Amex card and I am not sure what "documentation" they supplied but whatever it was was enough for Amex to cancel the complaint and stick me with the charge.
So I am now out $450 for a broken iPad and a phone that was never the phone I ordered. From what I can tell Groupon.com is a complete scam. The electronics you order will be broken or not as described and you have no way to contact them for a return save filing a complaint with the BBB (which they will wait to respond to so you are outside the window for your return). If anyone gets together to do a class action lawsuit against this terrible company please let me know, I would love to be a part of it.

Later, I clicked on the hyperlink that took me to the vendor that sells these tickets year round for these boat tours, and they were cheaper than Groupon! I was irritated when I saw this. Groupon...not only did they inflate the prices to make the mark down look huge, the final mark down wasn't the best deal after all. A month after my order, an email to Groupon resulted in a refund. On the same day I received another groupon solicitation for PrinterPix stating, "seriously, this is a great deal."
On 6/2/2015 I sent Groupon a copy of their advertisement, a reminder of the situation, and a statement that many others were victim to this fraud. My mail went unanswered. On 6/4/2015 I sent Groupon another email telling them that if they were going to ignore my complaint then please remove me from their mailing list. Their response, "The incident that has occurred with PrinterPix not fulfilling your order is an isolated one. Most customers place their order and receive it within the time frame that PrinterPix specifies." With so many complaints on BBB, Yelp, and elsewhere regarding PrinterPix deception, I can only conclude Groupon is complicit in this fraud in exchange for advertising dollars.
A call to Groupon supervisor ** out of Chicago on 6/5/2015 was fruitless as well. I explained the situation to ** in full and told him I ultimately desired that my order be fulfilled and shipped post haste. In fact the only reviews were over a year old but favorable. I contacted Groupon customer service to be told my review would go to third party agents, but they do not know who. The Therapeutic massage Groupon from TEAL is a SCAM!!! They title their Groupon, "60-Minute Therapeutic Massage" but it is such a lie! When I called them to make the appointment, I mentioned them that I want a therapeutic massage for my neck and my back. My neck and my back were hurting very bad so it was important for me to get a therapeutic massage. When I got there, the massage therapist, who spoke very little English, didn't even ask me what I wanted. I had to tell her that I was coming for a therapeutic massage for my neck and upper back because they hurt. Then, she started uncovering my legs to massage them. I told her that I wanted her to do just my neck and my back. She replied: "I will do a full body massage because it is for 60 min, right?" I thought it was weird comment because I always get a 60 min for my neck and my back at other places. I told her ok but that I wanted her to focus more on the area that hurts.
Then, she said: "Yeah, yeah, don't worry." The result: she spent not even 5 minutes on my neck and maybe max 10 minutes on my upper back, it was a relaxation massage and it lasted 50 min, not an hour! I was so disappointed and I went to tell the lady at the entrance. I described my experience and she told me: "Oh but you know, why she didn't massage your neck for a longer time, it is because she is not a registered massage therapist and if you are not a registered massage therapist, you are not allowed to massage the neck for more than 6-7 minutes." So, I asked her why did she book me with a non-registered massage therapist then??
She replied that the Groupon is just for non-registered massage therapist. Excuse me??? It is nonsense to title your Groupon "60-Minute Therapeutic Massage" if you cant provide the service. The neck is one of the area that people need therapeutic massage the most! What is wrong with them. They just take your money and they waste your time! I saw a deal on Groupon for a discounted Dinner Cruise that I thought would be nice to take my girlfriend on. I went to go purchase it but because I was in a rush I accidentally bought the wrong amount. I had only bought 1 ticket when I needed 2. I thought this was an easy fix (as it is on pretty much every modern day website) and I went to edit my order. The quantity portion is grayed out. So I think "no big deal, I'll just cancel this order and make a new order with the correct quantity." Apparently even if you cancel your order, Groupon thinks you've already bought it and won't let you buy the deal again. Which is strange because that specific deal said I could buy 4 tickets for myself and 4 tickets as a gift, and I had only bought 1 ticket. I tried making a new purchase as a gift even.
I called customer support but the wait was 40-50 minutes and I was in a hurry so I emailed customer support. They got back to me on Tuesday (I sent this on Saturday) and told me that they could help me create an order. I emailed back the necessary information and then 4 hours later they told me that the deal was sold out. They even had the nerve to tell me they "explained" the situation to me when their entire email made it seem like I was upset I couldn't buy a sold out Groupon.
I responded telling them the situation again, and a different customer support person "explained" to me that sometimes there's a brief delay and it'll look like they're available when really they're already sold out. I guess what she's saying is that the brief delay lasted 3 days and for over 300 Groupons sold. But the brief delay started immediately after I purchased a ticket and lasted until they were sold out. It's just ridiculous that Groupon is trying to blame this on me. Yes the original mistake was mine in that I bought the wrong quantity, but it should've been an easy fix.

I have used Groupon regularly for years and never had problems. After Christmas, in the beginning of 2015, I suddenly discovered over $80 of random products charged to my account. The products had been purchased on a day that I was at school teaching, during the middle of the day, and from a computer that was not my IP address. The products had, however, been sent to my address and they were not high priced items, just random things, but many men's items which I'd never even looked at before (single, no husband/boyfriend, etc.) I contacted Groupon because I was unable to "return" the items any longer and I was sent an e-mail suggesting that I had "pocket purchased" items with a touchscreen smart phone. No sympathy or effort to assist in my issue was provided.
I called my bank to close the card that was used and get a new one, the bank said that I needed to file fraud immediately. I answered a few questions and they said I would be refunded through Fraud Protection immediately and they would follow through on the issue and that I didn't need to contact Groupon myself anymore. As the products arrived, I took them to the post office and "denied" them/RTS. The whole process was very inconvenient and took about 2 months to deal with.
A while later, I went onto Groupon to shop for a girls' night deal and found my account deactivated. I called to get it figured out, thinking it was a safety precaution after the issue, and was passed around to 2 different customer service reps, then an account specialist and told that due to the "Fraud Case I brought against their company, I am no longer a welcome customer and I can see the terms of use for further information."
Now, I am not able to use Groupon at all and have a very bad taste in my mouth for the complete and utter lack of care for the customer that Groupon showed. They based their refund amount of $9.60 on the discount of the deal and simply did not just refund me the amount I paid. In my opinion this if fraudulent and downright shady.

I normally don't write reviews but had to this time. I have used Groupon many times for local services and never had an issue. My issue is with purchasing products (goods) via Groupon goods. This last purchase takes the cake. I purchased clothing that indicated it was a size medium. I verified the size I needed with the sizing chart provided for me. According to the chart it was my normal size. What I received was a joke. It looked like a toddler shirt. The shirt was made in India which is maybe why it is 10 sizes too small. This wouldn't have been a huge deal if they had been accurate in their sizing chart. Then I would have known that I had to order 10 sizes bigger (exaggeration of course but you get my drift).
I email Groupon because of course the purchase did state that there will be no returns unless the item is defective. Well in my opinion this is a clear defect is it not? I mean they obviously forgot to include the entire shirt. So of course Groupon responds with their copy and paste document of "I am sorry but according to the fine print there are no returns... blah blah blah". I ordered two pieces of furniture from Groupon and when they arrived they were missing crucial parts. This effectively rendered the products useless. Groupon said they cannot and would not send out the spare parts but I could send the products back for a refund. Annoying but not the end of the world but this was just where it starts! They have been absolutely useless, incompetent and disinterested in taking the products back.
They asked me to specify dates and times that they could collect. I offered over 10 different dates and times and by the time they responded those dates had passed. They asked for more dates and again the dates passed before they responded again. They then arranged a collection without advising me but they never turned up. Why? Because they went to some address over 100 miles away that I don't even live up and bothered people living there asking for the products!
For multiple inconveniences and wasting days off from work waiting for collections that never arrived, they said they would provide a refund before the products were sent back. They then rescinded that and blamed it on an automated email sent in error even though it had someone's signature on. Despite specifying my address, they again turned up at a random person's house looking to pickup.
It has now been 4 month since Groupon requested collection dates and I have neither a refund or collection of the defective products they sent. I am fed up of receiving the same generic responses on email and the phone that only serve to further delay as they provide no useful information. If buying from Groupon make sure you buy with a credit card as like me if anything goes wrong you will have to put in a claim as Groupon will not be interested in resolving even if they do send you broken, defective products.

I ordered a certificate from Groupon on 4/24 and all was well. On 4/25 I went on the site to see if that offer was still available for a friend. I did not order the certificate the second time, nor did I receive any order confirmation. But in checking my bank account I was charged $50 out of my account. If I had not been in the habit of checking my account I would not of know this occurred. I contacted Groupon and was promised a refund. I am retired and on social security so $50 is a lot to me. I was told it could take up to ten days for the credit to show up, but most were received quicker. This is day 12 and nothing has appeared. In writing Groupon again I am told it is the banks fault and I should contact them. Wells Fargo states that is ** and Groupon has a policy of using others money for extended periods. Groupon will never receive another order for me and I am going to spread the word on their dishonest policy.

Groupon shipped the cards anyway. I got a credit back but was charged for the shipping. I called Groupon and went back and forth through phone and email for 3 weeks before they told me I called the wrong company despite having called the number provided on my confirmation email. Apparently Groupon Inc and Groupon gift cards are not associated with one another. I found the number I needed on my AMEX statement and found out that it was disconnected.... I bought a Canon DSLR camera from Groupon Goods. They charged my credit card on the day that I placed the order. One week later they cancelled my order stating they had "insufficient inventory". They did not make any attempt to fulfill my order even though I had paid already. I emailed their customer support stating that the product was still widely available but all I got in reply was "we are very sorry". This deal was a very good one and I highly suspect that they realized this after the order got placed at which point they cancelled the order and refunded me. So next time you see a great deal on Groupon think twice because most likely it is indeed too good to be true. Groupon seems to have zero interest in being customer-friendly, so take your money to a place that cares about their customers trust like Amazon or Overstock.

I purchased a Groupon for an event called the Bacon and Beer classic. Once you purchase a Groupon you need to then go to the event website and sign up on that company's site something that I wasn't aware of because I was a new customer. I make the purchase and go to sign up for the event but it is sold out. I call the event coordinator and see if there is anyway I can get into this event and I am told there is not even though I purchased a Groupon for it. So I am disappointed but no problem I'll get a refund on my Groupon purchase - wrong! Because I didn't ask for a refund within 24 hours I am not entitled to one I am told. So I paid $108 for nothing essentially. I have never experienced anything like this before where a company doesn't delivery you a product but still holds your money.
Their customer service is also atrocious. I had to wait on the phone two separate times for 40 minutes to talk with someone. Once I was on the phone with someone they were very rude and told me next time read the fine print before buying something, amazing customer service. Gotcha we're not going to give you the product you ordered and we're going to keep your money! I am currently contesting the charge on my credit card but it is safe to say I will never buy anything from Groupon again.

I requested help from my friend who told they also need me (the gift receiver) to also be available. Why would we both need to be available? Due to my friend and I having different work schedules, we didn't want to wait 30 minutes plus on the phone to speak to customer service. We both tried emailing without success. A 15-minute oil change includes up to 5 quarts of Valvoline conventional oil, a new filter, and a maintenance check." The issue I have is if your car takes more than 5 quarts of oil - they claimed mine took 6.4 qts... for that extra quart of oil, they charged me nearly $15.00 more. This usually is not a big deal for companies when you receive the wrong item, they just send you the right one. With Groupon... Let me start off with that I wrote them an email telling them I had received the wrong item... here is the response: "Hello, did you check with our neighbors if they had received your item, I hope that helped have a nice day." (They obviously read my message right? They only answer with automated responses.)
Next, I had to send back the item myself (they still have no repaid me back the fees of shipping the item back). I was told to send it back after I managed to get hold of someone from their customer support on the phone, which by the way their line was horrible you could barely hear anything (had to put it on speaker phone to hear something). So I sent it back never get any news back from for 2 weeks so I decided to call customer service again and get told that they had no proof that I sent it (just check with your partner if they revived it how hard can it be... seriously).
Afterwards, I get told I will never see my money without proof of return (you're getting back the item, how much more proof do you want .. sheesh) and a mental breakdown later I managed to get a credit from them. Like I wanted to buy from them again when they caused me that many problems because of their own screw-ups. In general I have been satisfied with the things I have received, however, I have a few concerns. Sadly my most recent one may cause me to stop using Groupon all together. I hope we can bring together a group of people with similar stories, to then go to press and/or take Groupon to court. Also, if you have any advice please write it here! Thanks for your support. Here is the story: I have ordered a deal (physical good) which was paid via PayPal (in October 2014). It was totally different from the description and generally of poor quality. I therefore returned it via post within 7 days, following their printout-return-form procedure. They did not refund me for over a month despite numerous emails and sloppy replies from their side. Therefore I contacted PayPal for customer protection, who said they looked into it.
From this date on, Groupon said they cannot do anything and I have to deal with PayPal. However, PayPal later said they looked into the matter are not responsible either due to it being a discount deal, and I need to deal with Groupon directly. Since I contacted PayPal, Groupon says I have already received a refund from Paypal (which I did not) and continues to take 2 weeks per reply to my mails, without any change in the refund situation. I even sent them a printout of my account activity from PayPal, confirming that there was no refund. I'm done with the company, but looking for people with a similar story. We should get together and find solutions to stop this company from dealing with people's money and customer rights like this!

I purchased 4 items using Groupon Goods, my account had my old address so I changed my address both in my settings and at check-out. They ask you at check out to confirm your delivery address and I used my new address. A day later or so, I went online to check the status of my orders and realized the items were sent to my old address (I haven't lived there for 1 1/2 years). I called Groupon to change my address and you only have a two-hour window to change your delivery address after the purchase, they say that in the confirmation email they send you. Well, I know I changed my address before the purchase and during check out so I honestly didn't check their confirmation email.
During the first call they told me I was going to be reimbursed for all my purchases if I didn't get them and that I could try calling the shipping company once the packages were sent. At this point my packages hadn't been sent yet but still they couldn't change the address. So, I waited another day or two and as soon as they informed me that the packages were sent, I called both UPS and FedEx which are the two companies they used to send my packages. But they sent the packages through a special service (I guess the least expensive one and therefore the worse one) that would deliver the packages to the local mail service - so USPS - and then USPS would deliver the packages to me. Because of the way Groupon sent my packages, UPS and FedEx were not able to change the delivery address.
I called USPS and again because of the way the packages were sent; my packages were not eligible for Intercept (a service that allows you to redirect your packages). In any case, after 3 hours with the mailing companies and 4 call to Groupon in a 1-week period, you would think Groupon would give me a refund for the purchases I am not going to receive. Well, no they won't. It is their policy that they can only refund one item but because of my troubles, they are going to make an exception and refund 2 out of the 4 packages. If I hadn't changed my address, I wouldn't be complaining because it would have been my fault. BUT I DID CHANGE MY ADDRESS so as far as I am concern I should get a full refund.
Honestly, there are other companies offering coupons for goods (Amazon does a great job for example). After this experience, I am not buying though Groupon EVER again. As soon as I get the refund for my 2 items, I am cancelling my account. Now I am paying for two items I am not going to receive, I don't know anyone at the other building and there isn't an office where they keep packages or something like that and on top of it, the building has a new landlord (I knew the old landlord, he was very nice and I know I could have asked him to grab the packages and let me know). So, I am losing the money even though it wasn't my mistake, it was theirs.

I have been a long time user of Groupon (4 years). I have made numerous large purchase from them, from services to products. The first purchase I made I bought a mattress, and the company delivering it indicated carrying it up the stairs to my bedroom was not included (?!?) so one may wonder why I would continue. Fortunately thereafter I made some successful purchases for services - for example, hair highlighting - and even though I was charged extra for "long hair", which was not specified in the deal, I just realized this was the business, and not Groupon per se. I recently bought a Groupon for a "BounceU" in Bridgewater, NJ. For months I tried to use this "coupon" which included 5 bounce sessions for my 5-year old. I realized after I could not reach them, even after stopping by, they simply were never there, and I believe are closing. Online reviews of the business with customers with similar experiences also helped.
When I contacted Groupon, they were argumentative, asking for unreasonable proof and in my most recent incident, I now know there were dozens of other customers with the same issue. Yet they were so belligerent, and the rep so inept she could not remedy the situation and issue a fair refund, especially as it was about to expire. I finally did get a refund but had to start a case with the BBB before it was issued (guess they really wanted that money). Then today I went to make a $579.00 service purchase. I had a phone die on me, so therefore started a new account. I tried to use a coupon code for 20% off (sounds better than it was, the max discount was only $50) and they refused to honor it unless I could provide a screenshot.
I had just received another coupon, and 5 or 6 in total in the last 6 months for the EXACT same deal, and never used them. This rep and her supervisor would not concede to offering this coupon stating, "we only sent that to a select group of customers". "SELECT", I guess my $1000.00's of dollars of purchases did not qualify me for this special group. Moreover I even explained several of the issues I had, so even though it is ludicrous, I suggested a concession for some of the difficulties I had. She refused, even getting rude.
There is no RATIONAL reason for their refusal other than losing a customer, and then worse after losing a phone (and having a wallet stolen incidentally within the same 2 weeks - thus missing a just-expired 20% off coupon, and needing to re-install the app and not remembering the account - I created a new one). This woman was more interested in making sure she got all my accounts as that "violated" their terms...more like their ability to sell your purchase information, and make more money selling it to 3rd parties. (Proven fact, ask and they should have to admit this.) It would not even be possible to misuse their site or promotions, as I just found out they really track those by your phone number and billing info.
So to call for help, get no "sure we can offer that deal", when so many merchants try to find you codes and deals, then to be chastised for creating a new account as they were defensive. INSANE. They just lost a customer for good. It seems now reading all their bad reviews, they are in serious need of training and new customer service help and policies. Oh, and actually checking a business is open before selling a coupon meant for children, probably a good idea. Lol.

The 800TC sheets label has no name, brand, etc. just "made in India." Additionally, my husband bought me a 1.00 CTTW Diamond Bracelet as a Christmas present. The groupon was for more than half off a personalized bobble head figure, which I purchased for my son's birthday. Once the groupon was purchased and I went to the site to complete my order, there were the hidden charges. There was a $20 charge for proofreading (it says it's included but there is still a charge, no option to opt out). There is also a $15.95 charge for production and delivery and then a $9.99 charge for shipping. So, shipping and delivery are not the same????
At any rate I paid almost as much for these hidden charges and I did for the discounted groupon. Is it Groupon's fault - probably not. They can't be responsible for every sites hidden charges BUT, it does leave a bad taste in my mouth regarding Groupon and doing any further business with them because you really don't know what you're getting. Lesson learned - Check the website that is offering the Groupon prior to purchasing - this may give you some insight as to what you're really getting yourself into.

First, I saw the deal written as "$450 for Acuvue Contact Lenses for One Year Supply". There was a note as "patients must have a prescription at the time of redemption", so I went to an optometrist to get a prescription before the redemption. The optometrist diagnosed me as astigmatism, which I've never been diagnosed as so in my life. So I requested to refund money I spend to Groupon. Here is the exact quote from ** from Groupon Customer Support: "I'm sorry to hear that this Groupon isn't going to work out for you. Groupons make great gifts, so if you're not able to use it yourself, feel free to give it to a worthy recipient."
Give away? because Groupon makes a great gift? This is not a candy or perishable but $450 worth of highly personalized and expensive product. EVEN WORSE, at the time of redemption, I found out I have to pay the rest of the due from total of $792, which wasn't obvious from the deal page at all. (Actually there is NO mention about the total amount on anywhere on the receipt nor fine print.) Considering I was diagnosed astigmatism for the first time and the lenses I purchase was nothing but total waste of money, even worse, the deal comes with hidden due of $342. I felt deceived by Groupon.
After I requested the refund, Groupon's answer was only the one written above. I'm so angry, disappointed by the irresponsible and deceptive company.

I was shocked because I never dropped it or fell it into water and it looks just like new. Then I went to the Apple Store trying to have it replaced, and the salesclerk told me they can't even replace it because it's not unlocked as they said, actually it's linked with another account which belongs to a Japanese! They can't do anything to the phone unless they find that Japanese woman.
I have written to Groupon several times for a refund but they keep saying that purchases after 14 days can't be refunded. At Apple, we were told that the phone was defective and was not under Apple warranty, but that Groupon could call Apple Care to update the warranty info. After looking at all the emails, invoices and packing slips, the only warranty listed with Groupon said "30 warranty."
After HOURS spent on hold waiting for a customer service rep, I was finally told that I could return the phone, but could not exchange it. Why would I return a fixed phone to Groupon when they sent me a broken one in the first place? I was given a random email address as the warranty policy and told that they doubt calling Apple Care would do anything. Very helpful, huh? I told her I am never ever gonna use Groupon. She said goodbye. Good bye Groupon. You are out of one of my accounts.

I purchased a Fitbit one device from Groupon 5/11/2014 and there was no problem at all. I registered the device, synced with Fitbit one. Till a week ago it suddenly stopped turning on. I called Fitbit. They clearly told Groupon is not authorized seller for their product. I approached Groupon for this. They as usual showing their fine print and return policies. Why people should buy from them any branded product which simply means they doesn't carry warranty. So purchasing from Groupon is like purchasing from black market. So they should not call it a deal - its products which are use and throw condition. I purchased a lot of products from them but this is the end. So my advice to all before going to Groupon, please think twice that those are not coupons or deals which they are selling. They are products which does not carry warranty.

Groupon has been very irresponsible on items shipping and tracking. They take maximum amount of time in creating a tracking info and once tracking number came, then they take more than double the amount of time making it valid. There is no direct number to talk to customer service and email response is very bad. This is regarding my order number ** . I am giving 1 star because their local deals with printing is good but shipping is very bad. And also so many times are very cheap in quality.

As a frequent Groupon customer, I must say I am very displeased with the way my situation was handled. I purchased a tablet for Cyber Monday 2014 and it arrived very fast. It wasn't until delivered I realized there were some red flags. No Fragile label with Do NOT BEND, ETC. The item was not bubble wrapped or packaged to safeguard tablet. After reaching out to Groupon promptly, I still have only received their automated system response. Unacceptable for a frequent buying customer. I want to know where is the follow up response from an actual employee to show an area of concern. Now I have to wait until the item is returned back to them to get a refund. They had no problem taking my money before my item was delivered and it was delivered completely broken. The screen is smashed, the tablet is bent and it's also dirty. Very frustrated about this incident and it is not acceptable.

98$ spent for a "deal". When I wanted to take an appointment with the society of the so-called offer, I never had any answer, whereas I sent them emails and phone calls. I came directly to the society, someone told me they were not here anymore, but was unable to tell me if they just had moved or if they didn't exist anymore. Now Groupon don't want to refund me. Really bad experience... Groupon = zero, finally as their offers. I'll remind that for the next time.

I bought a pair of birthstone earrings online as a gift for my ten-year-old daughter. She loved the earrings, but we quickly noticed the backings would not keep the earrings safely on. I gave her a pair of backings and within the first wear, the stone fell out of the earring. I contacted Groupon asking for a return or exchange and I was told it was past the 14-day return policy. I will not be buying their garbage again! A company should stand behind their product.

This took place in Medellin, Colombia. I am still struggling to find out how to get either my Groupon or my money back. Groupon in Colombia is unreliable and a fraud. Don't buy anything from there and tell your friends.

DO NOT BUY GOODS FROM GROUPON. THEY ARE SLOW TO SHIP AND THEY MAKE RETURNS IMPOSSIBLE even when there is a legit reason for a return! Ordered a Vigilant Rainbow "Smart" toothbrush that was supposed to communicate with my android phone and help teach my daughter to brush her teeth well. My Vigilant Rainbow did not work with either of my phones. Groupon fine print says it is returnable if defective but system does not let you print a label for return. Customer service not responsive. I just wasted $30 on a cheap quality toothbrush that does nothing.

I took a groupon coupon and as it did not suit my needs, I asked them for a refund. Had to go through several mails explaining them why I can’t use the coupon and they replied each time saying please gift it to someone. Is this a solution? Later, for one good instance, they replied they will credit the money back to my groupon bucks. As per groupon, this is an immediate process and I should be able to see and use Groupon bucks immediately. After 1 week also, I am not able to see the groupon bucks in my account. I am tired of mailing them and requesting an answer. However, they don’t even reply.
I am tracking to get a refund from 2 months and now even though they said they are refunding, they have not done the refund. This is no way a business attitude. I am really disappointed with Groupon and its customer support team. It seems that the team is full of robots and they don’t even read the mail and issue. All the replies from groupon are like auto generated replies asking to refer the policies and procedures and give the groupon as a gift. Horrible experience.

During our 2014 Florida Thanksgiving Family Dinner, my immediate family of (6) discussed taking a family trip to Ireland. Ironically my sister in Michigan called to wish us a Happy Thanksgiving and mentioned that there was a Groupon Special on line reflecting a $800+ per person "turn key trip" (flight, lodging, & auto rental inclusive) available, if we acted quickly. So we did.. Spent almost 10K for 6 people. During the purchase we were somehow transferred to an affiliate of Groupon called Great Value Vacations. It all seemed to be a simple on-line order, although there was much to learn after the trip was charged to my AMX Card. That old saying "Let the buyer beware" is very true when dealing with these folks. Now they are telling me I am required to purchase Irish Auto CDW Waiver coverage for two autos which is about $400.00 extra charge, and now just notified that due to my age of 73, I am required to up-grade to a Automatic Transmission Vehicle, that is also additional charges.
What I really found out about these folks is they will not support me in reversing the auto charges on my AMX Card to my Chase Sapphire Card that will Automatically cover me and family with CDW coverage if the Auto's are charged to that card. This is a simple process done everyday, but they are refusing any Customer Support to prevent me from having to spend this extra $400.00 for CDW coverage, when they know I could have it free of charge if they did the Credit swap to my Chase Card. I truly think this type of Company should be taught a lesson in good old American Business Customer Service.

On November 15 I placed an order through Groupon. According to the tracking information it was shipped by UPS, but was "requested by sender to deliver to the USPS" and it showed that it was delivered to my house. I never received the item. When I tried communicating with Groupon, via email and phone, I got automated responses. When a person finally responded, although polite, basically said the item was delivered according to the tracking information and suggested I speak with my neighbors. Although not all the fault with the shipping problems are with Groupon, there was no customer service with helping me resolve this. Someone took my money, and I have received no merchandise.

On September 29, I purchased four Ringling Bros. circus tickets from Groupon for the total of $176.00 USD. There were four different ticket options Loge/Club/Balcony, Floor Seating, Front Row Seating, and Circus Celebrity Seating. I chose the floor seating. After four days, I finally got confirmation that the transaction had gone through. Note that they didn't actually send me any kind of confirmation like you would think they would do. Instead, I had to keep checking back in on my Groupon account to see what the status was.
Upon checking the status after 4 days, I realized that the tickets they gave me were not the tickets that I ordered. They gave me Loge seats, the least expensive tickets of the four choices, but still charged me the floor seating price. On Friday, October 3, I called to bring this error to their attention. After waiting in their phone queue for 40+ minutes, they finally answered the phone. The customer service operator I spoke with told me that there was clearly an error made, but he would have to forward it to someone else because they were just about to close. He said that I would hear from someone by the following Monday because it takes 24 business hours for them to respond.
On Monday, October 6, I had not heard from anyone so I called them back. After waiting on hold for 40+ minutes once again, someone finally picked up the phone and said that the other operator was incorrect and that it takes 72 business hours for a response and that I would have to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday. On Tuesday, October 7, I received an email from a Groupon representative saying that the tickets I received were correct (even though they clearly weren't since I ordered floor seating and didn't get floor seating).
After work on October 7, I called them for an explanation about the email I received. After waiting 30+ minutes this time, an operator finally picked up and told me that the person who sent me the email made the final decision and that if I still had question, I would need to email her back. I explained to the operator that I was tired of having to keep call them back and that if they weren't willing to resolve the issue now, I would dispute the charge with my bank.
During this call, I can hear the operator typing away on her keyboard apparently in an instant message with a manager. She finally comes back and says that the tickets I ordered do not exist and that they made an error on their website. And even after admitting that they sold me a product that does not exist and that they made the error, they were still not willing to do anything to make up for the trouble it caused.
The operator then continues to type away on an instant message with several managers (as she explained to me) and said that they could make a one-time exception and refund the money I paid back to my Groupon account as a credit. I explained to her that this entire experience has been nothing but a headache and that a credit on my Groupon account would be worthless because I never intend to buy from Groupon again after this terrible experience. I then asked her if they can refund it to the credit card that I paid with. She responds to my question with a question asking would you like it back to your credit card? (Really? I just told you I do. Why are you asking me back?) I told her yes and once again she continues typing away with her manager over an instant message. She comes back saying that they can make a one-time exception and refund it to my credit card.
You'll also note that during this entire call (and my previous calls to Groupon about this issue), not one person offered their apology for the mix up. It was very clearly their mistake, and they even admitted to it, yet nobody was willing to take responsibility for it. After this ordeal, I did a search online for Groupon reviews and the results are astounding nothing but complaints everywhere. There is even an entire Facebook page dedicated to complaints about Groupon. It's no wonder why there are so many complaints. I only wish I had researched this before making this purchase. That is one mistake I'll never make again. As for Groupon, I have no desire to buy from them again. I don't care if I need a rare blood transfusion and they're selling a match for $1. I'd rather die than have to deal with their customer service (if you can even call it that).

Groupon has a duty to protect its customers. Its good reputation is based on the fact that it screens businesses before they are allowed to post deals on groupon. Groupon should have done due diligence and found out the many different aliases that Great Value Vacations operates under, The Lawsuit brought against Sceptre Tours by the DOJ, the F rating with the BBB and other fraudulent activity by said company under alias names. Not only should groupon no longer associate with said company, but said company should be barred from the travel industry entirely. Groupon needs to practice what it preaches within its A+ BBB rating as well as its groupon promise and customer protection motto.
A full refund of the trip (November 2014) totaling $3558.48 is not only requested but it is mandatory that Groupon practice goodwill and make a statement to other would be fraudulent companies that would try to do business on groupon. Groupon must only promote reputable companies and not misrepresent them or the deals they represent.
I purchased the Groupons on May 29th and was strong arm pressured into redeemed them on May 30th with the affiliated company Great Value Vacations which has several aliases with hundreds of outstanding complaints including Sceptre Tours, Dan Dooley Vacations, Aer Lingus and Global Consolidated Services (GCS Ltd). The business identity was misrepresented. Would groupon have made public knowledge that the company was actually Sceptre Tours I would never have made the booking with them.
Reviews were misrepresented on the groupon deal page. I actually thought the positive comments from Fodor's were for the travel agent or that specific deal. That was not the case. It was a general review on Rome and Tuscany, but was misleading. The fine print and terms were changed. On several occasions I tried to access the groupon page after making an initial complaint with the company. As evidenced by different fine print terms on previous same groupons by the company Great Value Vacations, additional fees verbiage was included after the terms were modified.
Misrepresentation of the groupon promise. "What Makes this Getaway Great: Groupon-Exclusive Discounts. We negotiate directly with hotels and tour operators to get you the deepest discount available -- as only Groupon can. Handpicked Travel. Our travel experts and writers research every getaway for you. Booking Guarantee. If the merchant is unable to book the stay you want during the available dates and before the book-by date, we'll refund your purchase."
Misrepresentation of Price - The $1999 value was actually only $1450 when priced out separately for single passenger. Hence the $1399 price is not that great of a savings and is a blunt lie of the $1999 value.

My wife and I have been looking forward for months to our 5th year anniversary. We planned to have a party bus take us and 14 of our friends to a nearby concert. We used Groupon. They have a company called "Black Car Sedans" as one of their featured customers. This company although not open on weekends (which seemed odd since that is the busiest time) allowed us to call and make reservations. We have two confirmation emails and all of our communication has been one-sided from day one, with no communication initiated by the business themselves.
Tonight, as all our friends were waiting, "Black Car Sedans" never showed up. Everyone had to carpool to the concert, breaking the heart of my wife who envisioned the party bus experience for months. Yelp has multiple reviews of the same company treating other Groupon customers the same way, not bothering to call or show up because they are conveniently closed on the weekends. The pain and suffering that will result from every stupid email I get from Groupon will only spurn me to work harder to put this fraudulent business (Black Car Sedans) out of business and to go to whatever length to ensure that Groupon takes this business off their site (as of this moment they are still being advertised by Groupon).
My wish is that no one goes through the disappointment suffered on such a special occasion for my wife and I. I hope this review lands or is seen by customers or Parties that have the ability to join in my fight against the misrepresentation that Groupon is allowed to sponsor.

I had placed an order on May 7th. On May the 14th, it still hadn't arrived and the Groupon site showed it hadn't even been processed on their own order status page. I emailed them and was told I had to wait at least 12 days per their terms. On May 23rd, a whole 17 days later, the order STILL hadn't even been readied for shipping so I email Groupon again and ask for my money back, now that agreement has definitely been breached. All I get is a response that they'll look into it and violá! A little while later, my order has been processed and is on the way.
I repeated email them that it was meant to be a Mother's Day gift and I bought something else so I don't want it at all but they conveniently tell me that now that is already shipped it can't be stopped and I have to wait for its arrival to see if maybe then I'll qualify for a refund because the retailer already did their part and is really in the shipping company's hands, which means I'm not guaranteed a refund, but if I do I'll have to wait A MONTH until after they receive their package back. The one that didn't need to leave their hands because I had stated weeks ago that I wanted my money back. This is abusive behavior and flat out stealing. Groupon's sleazy ways are not acceptable and I want my money back immediately, just like they got it instantly out of my card, and with any accrued interest.

I wrote to Groupon to ask if my purchase was indeed new and they responded, "Sorry for the confusion, it is refurbished." On the Groupon site, someone else asked if they were refurbished and they said no, that the ad previously noted "Refurbished" but that was in error and the iPad Minis are new and they removed the word refurbished. So far, 340 people have purchased this item so we have all been duped!! Isn't this out and out fraud? Two Different order numbers have been provided as shown below.
