I placed my order. I used my PayPal account. I received the order received email. Then 10 minutes later a "we've refunded your order." So I contacted them for an explanation. "Can you tell me about order number **. It says refunded, why? What does that mean? Did they sell out? It says order canceled but I didn't cancel it." "They were canceled because the charge did not go through on the method of payment. That's why you need to check this with your bank if why the payment did not go through."
Now, if the payment didn't go through, why would Groupon need to refund it? They just kept blaming the credit card company. I used Paypal, not a credit card. "This business has already received the final list of Groupon users, so we are no longer able to resolve credit card or PayPal issues for this deal. I'm truly sorry that you missed out on this deal."

I purchased a Groupon for 3 microdermabrasion sessions at Serenity Spa and Laser in Kensington (Calgary, Alberta). I scheduled my sessions with this business and 2 days before my first session the business sent me an email stating they no longer offer this service. Serenity Spa and Laser's exact response was "I am sorry these appointments need to be cancelled as we no longer can provide this service". I asked Serenity Spa and Laser for a refund and they indicated I needed to get in touch with Groupon. I then email Groupon customer support and explained the situation and Groupon responded with "we aren't able to issue a refund in this situation". I have be corresponding with Groupon customer support via email for over a week now and am getting nowhere. This is fraud. I paid for a service that the business is no longer providing yet Groupon refuses to give me a refund. How is this right?!

I noticed on my online banking that there were 2 unauthorized purchases from Groupon. I contacted customer service and they told me that they save your card information and that I had probably made a "pocket purchase". I did not want my card info saved. After about 13 different live chat sessions and 9 email correspondences later, I was able to get the amount of the unauthorized purchases in "Groupon Bucks". This displeased me but was the best outcome they would give me. When I went to use my "Groupon Bucks" the site would not let me check out without putting in my card information again. I ordered some work shirts (an item hard to break) and am anxious to receive my order and be done with Groupon forever. I would NOT recommend this site to anyone.

I purchased a Groupon Coupon that I did not use in the allotted time. No worry, the coupon states on it that the amount you paid is refundable. "This voucher has two separate values: (a) the amount paid; and (b) the promotional value. The amount paid will never expire and may be applied toward any goods or services offered by the merchant if the original goods or services specified on the voucher are no longer available. The promotional value is the additional value beyond the amount paid, and it will expire on the expiration date above". The catch is that if the coupon expires the merchant will tell you you have to get reimbursed by Groupon and Goupon will tell you that the merchant must honor the value but they will not because they say it expired. I'v just lost $50. I will never buy Groupon coupons again! Too risky. They SUCK!!!

Groupon is by far one of the most unsuccessful rude place of customer service ever. I tried to make a transaction in September of 2016 due to a last minute death in the family and my card was declined due to fraud alert from Groupon. Being that I thought my card was declining I thought it was my fault from the first transaction and tried it again. And it declined again. No email confirmation. No nothing. I called to speak to management about the whole transaction and they said it was nothing that they can do. After months and months of going back and forth with them I'm exhausted and angry. Manager Chris was just rude and not helpful at all. I just want my refund.

I purchased a Groupon for a service that the associated business has refused to honor for a year, despite repeated attempts to schedule more than a month out. I informed Groupon of that they have a company client who isn't honoring the Groupon I purchased. They refused to offer any remedy or refund.

My wife and I both attempted to order a set of the Gotham Steel pan set. Her order had an issue, it would not go through, so I ordered from my account. My order went through with no issues. Hers went through the following morning at 7:45 am. She got that email, called them in 30 minutes of that order going through, and was told she had to cancel the order in 2 hours of the order. She explained the whole situation to them and they would not listen. Now we have ordered 2 sets BUT neither have shipped after 2 weeks and they will not respond to us!!! We are filing BBB complaints and telling everyone about our experience with Groupon. The savings is NOT worth the hassle!

I should have read all of the reviews!! I purchased a haircut/color to a local salon, but could never get hold of a live person there. After many attempts and voicemails left, I finally gave up and just wanted a refund. Groupon (in live chat) said, "No refunds." Really??? Unbelievable! What a scam! Thankfully my credit card company is awesome and I opened a dispute with them, and was able to get my refund. Never again!! Buyer beware!!!

I schedule the show to be seen on November 16, 2016. The show was canceled for the night. The V-theater of Las Vegas told us to contact Groupon that they would allow a refund due to show being canceled. However when contacting Groupon they refused to give me my money back. They didn't stand behind their voucher. They stated show was open, could be seen Sat-Thur. It was Wed. I couldn't see my show. Here is the copy of the email from Groupon:
"I'm sorry to hear about the cancellation! Fortunately, the business should be able to assist with rescheduling you so that you can still enjoy your Groupon. As long as you contact them before your Groupon expires, they should be able to reschedule you for any available date, even if they are fully booked through the expiration date. If you aren't able to find another time that works for you, you can always give this Groupon to a friend who might have time to use it. Unless the Fine Print states otherwise, Groupons are fully transferable and make great gifts. We never intend to upset our subscribers, and we genuinely appreciate your thoughts. I'll make sure that your opinion is communicated to the appropriate channels. It is not our policy to issue a refund after 3 days from purchase. All sales are final. We only issue refunds if the business is unable to provide the services offered in the deal.”
I don't understand. I was told by a group agent that the money would be refunded. You are not standing behind your product. The V Theater needs to be called so my money can be given back. The theater was dark that night, and you guys need to refund my money because your voucher states that it can be used on: Marc Savard Comedy Hypnosis at V Theater on Saturday-Thursday at 10 p.m. (up to 66% Off). That was not the case. The theater was closed on Wed night. In return, your voucher does not stand up to the term and condition that Groupon and I agree to. I was there and ready to see the show. Not my fault that it was canceled. Groupon needs to make this right. Stay away from Groupon. This not the first time they have done this to me.

I was a big fan of Groupon when it was first started by Andrew Mason because he had good intentions, but then he got mixed up with greedy investors like Eric Lefkosky and Brad Keywell and it's turned into a sleazy business since Andrew was ousted. I got an email on a Tuesday featuring a deal for goods that would last until Wednesday, so late Tuesday evening, I went to purchase the deal and WHILE I was in the process, it switched the price from $99 to $149. My first thought was there must have been a mistake on my end, so I tried again and same problem. I contacted customer support and the rep first debated with me that I might be making up the original $99 deal since it now showed $149. I told him repeatedly it was through Wednesday, but he kept arguing with me.
Then, he said "if you have a screenshot of any proof, we can match the price" so thankfully, I had the original email featuring a dozen deals and took a screenshot and sent it. He then said "we need a screenshot that shows the Groupon logo" on the email. I explained that I can't take a screenshot of the ENTIRE email but could forward the original email. After receiving it, he said it didn't matter because it wasn't a screenshot, even though it was better proof than any screenshot. He then suggested to just wait and see if the deal comes back next year unless I wanted to pay the $149 price. He said that it's still a savings from the regular retail price of $249, but that is FALSE. The manufacturer's list price is $149. In other words, Groupon not only did the bait and switch on the deal, but even lied about the retail price of the product.
The reckless disregard of this rep was alarming because while demanding that I somehow prove information about a deal they already have information about, he then couldn't care less about the deception and false information. My purpose is writing this is not because I expect my deal to be honored, but when these type of companies are allowed to misbehave so badly, there must be consequences.
I not only will never purchase anything or trust Groupon, but I will take it one step further by urging everyone to boycott working for the company, unload any shares in this sleazy operation and help accelerate the demise of what started out as a good company but has become a giant boiler room to exploit both business and consumers. The investors, Eric Leftkosky and Brad Keywell, became very rich from Groupon. I can only hope what goes around comes around to them and they have to give back every penny to shareholders when the company goes bankrupt.

Ordered jewelry as a present for someone. Item states it was delivered however never received the item and as no one was home no one signed for it. I call Groupon and speak to a very condescending "customer rep". Very nasty woman. Basically tells me it's not their problem and for me to investigate what happened to the item because that's not their job to investigate - that that is my job. She then just hung up on me after saying "have a nice day." This is by far the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. As such I will no longer be using them for anything. I am disgusted. Thankfully just 14.00 dollars lost. Now hopefully the rest of the stuff I ordered in other orders will come and I won't lose more money.

I have very bad experience by purchasing one item through Groupon. I purchased a Real estate course for 75 hours from them. When I went to Real estate school they refuse to take the coupon because I enrolled with that school before. When I was trying to purchase online Groupon site never asked me if I enrolled with them before so I purchased it. When I was trying to refund it today customer service said I can not returned it back and get a refund. Since I never used the coupon and School does not want to accept, what can I do? They said I should sell to any other person.
If we purchase anything online if we do not use it we can returned it and every online merchant accept and issue a credit. This is the first time I saw a company which you can buy but you can not return. I tried to talk to Supervisor or Manager. She never connect me with them and hang up. I am requesting all the Groupon consumers please go to other reputed online service so you should not go with all the hassle. I rated them No Star service. Do not use them at all.

On the same trip another coupon also purchased on November 17th for a bar crawl was to be used on November 27th. We get on the company's website. It explains it will meet at Buffalos at 6. I tried to explain I needed the actual voucher as it was a gift so I wanted to pop it in a gift card. After 2 phone calls and loads of messages I still could not get my vouchers. I feel that once they have taken your money the after care is awful and I must add this is not the first time they have done this to me. They are quick enough to take your money but getting a refund is a different matter altogether. Please Please do yourself a favor and use voucher instead as Groupon seriously need investigating as their customer care is non-existent. If I could have gave them 0 stars I would of.

In early Nov 2016, I ordered 2 different types of Himalayan Salt Rock Lamps. Within a few days the first one arrived and to my extreme disappointment the lamp didn't work. I changed the bulb and it still did not work. I contacted customer support via live chat and was told I'd get a mailing label to return the item but a refund could take up to 3 weeks. That angered me because this was the first item I'd ever ordered from Groupon and with it arriving broken I felt they could do more to make this better than tell me I'd get my refund in 2-3 weeks. About 4 days later the second lamp arrived and to my major displeasure that one also was not working. I contacted customer support via telephone this time. The same promises were made to send a mailing label and to issue a refund.
All of this is well and good IF I actually receive the refund, but at this point they cannot understand that as a consumer I have no faith and no trust that they are operating a legit business since the first two items I've ever ordered from them came defective. So that remains to be seen. I do want to caution others that if you are ordering anything from Groupon that is electronic or has to do anything other than "sit and look pretty" then you may want to look elsewhere for your purchase. I will not be ordering from them again because it's not worth the hassle only to receive broken items and a promise to refund in 2-3 weeks.

Purchased a $69 special for Xmas from Groupon for Ancestry by DNA. It was not until I looked at Yelp.com for a review on this company that I realized what a rip-off this company was as there are just TONS of one star reviews for Ancestry by DNA. This is NOT the REAL Ancestry.com company but a fake. Groupon has to know this and does not care.
I have purchased probably 8 different Groupons that turned out badly: a transit shuttle to the airport that was a total rip-off for $59 or so that I could not use, a restaurant that would not give me but $20 for a $50 coupon, restaurants that when I got there were closed, etc. etc. This is the last time I am buying any more Groupons. Why a company like Groupon would not drop illegal or bad companies makes me wonder what is going on? They have to be getting complaints, so--to me--they are either just greedy or just do not care. Under any circumstance, I won't be buying more Groupons from the company ever. I have had it!

I purchased a group on for my fiancee for Bon Appetit Fitness and Wellness Spa. My suggestion is to never ever visit this place. On Groupon which disturbs me rated it 5 stars. The reviews on Groupon were all excellent. I failed to do my homework and check other reviews. If I had I would have never purchased the Groupon. So my complaint is about Groupon in rating businesses so high yet when they are not. Years ago when Groupon started they were humble in getting business and more interested in doing the right thing such as ratings. If you did not have a good rating they would not market for you. But now they like a lot of companies have gotten so large and the money is flowing they forgot their basic concept which was the very people who got them started.
So how could you Groupon walk and take advantage of the people who got you where you are today. Not even that but when I purchased the voucher I could not print it or email like then say you could as a gift. Four time and over an hour with customer service and I was never actually able to print the voucher with the bar code. However the Spa did honor the request with the receipt. Too much time effort and work to use them again. This is no deal. I would rather just work directly with the vendor.

I attempted to buy tickets to a local museum exhibit. When I pressed the purchase button an error message came up saying "there was a problem with your transaction." So I tried it again. Same error message. I changed credit cards and then the transaction went through. However, when I went to see my ticket purchase I had 16, not 4, tickets!
I immediately contacted Groupon and let them know. Their response was no returns, period. Even when they acknowledge it was their system that had caused the issue. It took about the 5th customer service rep to actually articulate that the system reprocessed without showing me on the purchase screen. "We sent you an email while you were making the purchase"?!? "Didn't you read it while you were trying to make the purchase!?!?". It also took talking to a human being to escalate beyond the 1st level of CS. However, I have not heard from the second level so I have contacted my credit card company to dispute this transaction and their rep indicated this is not unusual with Groupon. Avoid Groupon, the discount isn't worth it.

I'm a Marketing Manager for a company in the Chicagoland area (Groupon's backyard), and I understand the importance of having a very good online reputation, generating positive reviews and addressing the negative reviews so your customers are happy. I've spoken with 2 different Customer Service representatives at Groupon and neither could help me with a very simple issue. I never received a callback from either of them when I was told I would.
This past Monday I called the 312-239-2980 phone number that I was given and of course had to leave a message because it went straight to voicemail. I let them know that if I didn't receive a phone call from someone on Tuesday, but Wednesday I would be leaving a 1 star review. Apparently, they don't care about receiving 1 star reviews because there are a ton of them on ConsumerAffairs' site. I will never buy a Groupon because if this is the type of Customer Service they provide, when it comes to fixing a small issue, I'd hate to see the lack of service, when it's a big issue. Please call me at some point in the future, or don't and I'll figure out some other way to fix it.

I did not read here first. The discount I purchased was for a non-company. Could get no response and when I let Groupon know, I also was told no refund and really no help. I certainly have to question their consumer response or perhaps understanding of nuances in that they are happy to help? Would help if the business was unable to complete the order? Or if I could not contact the business? Oh, really? Why would I contact them if I was able to get the service 'purchased'? It is my right as an USA citizen to complain, to seek reimbursement, and to be heard. It is also my right to ask my credit card company to suspend payment from me to them. Please use Groupon as an aware person if you feel inclined. I strongly feel I will not be using this service in the future.

I ordered two items from Groupon on November 14, 2016 - Mickey Mouse earrings and necklace. They were supposed to be processed within 2 days. It is now November 22, 2016 and the order has not been processed. Groupon CHANGED my order on their backend (so the order that's processing isn't even correct - and I have the receipts for proof), and I have called twice and spoken with Elise (November 21) and Kevin (November 22) and no one can give me any information on the order and they will not allow me to cancel the order even though they can see that the order was changed internally and has not even processed.
This is FALSE advertising as they specified that this item will process within 2 business days; ILLEGAL changing of data on the company's backend as the original order was changed by Groupon after I made the purchase; and UNFAIR business practices as I am not able to cancel the order after all of the above. Of course Groupon took the money out of my account on November 14th. So now, here I am, with no products, no tracking or order information, I'm out $29.62 and Groupon has not tried to help or rectify the problem AT ALL. Each customer service rep has told me a different story and neither offered any kind of resolution. Nor did either offer to look into this further and get back to me with some information. I ordered something on Groupon as a birthday present 4 weeks ago today. I took into account all of the appropriate time allotments for prepping and shipping in order to receive the product by a certain date. Those came and went with the only update I received on the tracking being "Preparing to Ship" dated the day after I placed the order. After waiting for over two weeks for the product to even ship, I messaged Groupon on their online customer service. I was met with scripted apologies and a joke of an answer for why my product hadn't been shipped: "I'm so sorry for the trouble. Unfortunately, your order has been delayed and we don't currently have any updates on the expected delivery of your product. We are still working with the business to resolve these issues, but at this point we're unable to provide a time frame for the arrival of your shipment."
They offered me a refund. When I tried to discuss that I just wanted the product, they gave me the SAME template. Finally I got them to give me a number to call. They convinced me to cancel my current order, get the amount refunded onto my Groupon account, and then reorder the same product assuring me that they hadn't had any further problems with shipping since October 28th (this was November 7th). The guy I spoke with on the phone was literally the only redeeming factor of this entire ordeal and told me to check back with them if it hadn't been marked shipped sighting two days.
Fast forward two days. Hadn't shipped. When I called (I now have the Groupon customer service number saved in my phone), they told me that the shopping window hadn't expired and I would need to wait even longer to call. Called back yesterday (November 17th) and was told once again; "I'm so sorry for the trouble. Unfortunately, your order has been delayed and we don't currently have any updates on the expected delivery of your product. We are still working with the business to resolve these issues, but at this point we're unable to provide a time frame for the arrival of your shipment." WHAT?? They send me on to the Groupon Goods department, which is apparently a step up from customer service, and tell me that I should receive word from them within 1-2 business days.
The email I got today was that EXACT same template that I had gotten both electronically AND verbally three times before. When I emailed back asking for a phone number to contact the rep that had emailed me, I received an email informing me that my order had been cancelled and my money refunded to my Groupon account. Needless to say, I called once again, spoke to two more people who offered scripted apologies and little to no help. They tried to convince me to keep my money in my Groupon account "for future use", to which I laughed at, and informed them there would be no future use of their website.
In the end, I do get my money back to my card which shouldn't have even been a question from the start. I will not use their site again and I will tell anyone who asks that they shouldn't either. One thing I know is that word of mouth is the most effective form of marketing. The ironic thing, the same gift on the providers website is the same price as Groupon.

My experience with Groupon customer support is beyond surreal. I contacted them for help with a merchant (best tours) that has zero customer support as well. This was fri. After 30 mins on phone, agent says he cannot help me and would escalate my issue to a Groupon escalation specialist? I would receive an answer with 24 to 72 hours. Yesterday, I received an email from a support agent who totally misunderstood the issue, clearly did not want to deal with anything negative about this merchant and told me I would hear from the merchant in 3 days. I told her it was a moot point as I had already rescheduled the tour. NEVER did I ask for a refund.
So another agent writes back saying that to make me happy, she gave me $40 in Groupon bucks. At first I thought that was a good thing until I realized she had merely refunded and canceled my tour! So now I have a scheduled tour, but have no proof of the Groupon. How incompetent. I've since sent 3 emails asking to cancel the bucks and put the tour back on my Groupons. I am told that is not possible. So instead of helping me Groupon has made the situation worse causing me more time. In addition the 'specialist' wrote that I can repurchase the tour (at more than twice the price) and to "ENJOY". What??? This is a sad state when businesses outsource their customer training and provide zero training.

Before I completed the transaction, I saw that there was also a Groupon $10 coupon so I went to check it out. My daughter completed her order and let me know that the $40 discount did not show up on the purchase receipt. So I decided to not complete my purchase to investigate what was going on. Well as you may suspect something is SERIOUSLY wrong. My poor daughter's total for this fiasco ended up being ONE HUNDRED NINETY TWO DOLLARS!!!!!
Because of my daughter's occupation, she could not call and complain herself so she gave me the info and I called. NOW let me say that it has been a long time since I ordered from Groupon and I must confess I have been a GROUPON FAN. Anytime I had an issue with anything the customer service was STELLAR! Making the call to inquire about the discrepancy with the tree order, I couldn't believe that I was speaking with a Groupon Representative. Her communication with me was beyond impersonal with a heavy dose of disinterest. It seemed from our transfer of information she just would have preferred to cancel the order. After going over the situation SEVERAL times, I asked to speak with a Supervisor and this is what I was told: CSR: "I have a Supervisor but she is on the phone". I told her that I would wait. CSR: "She's on the phone." So I took that as a cue to not expect a Supervisor to talk to me.
FACT 1: THERE WAS an offer under the price on that site stating that 11/14 was the deadline for the Additional 40$ savings on the tree. By the time I could get someone to respond from Groupon I kept getting the "well it's not on the offer now and the price is $219 now." I believe that Groupon knows there was an offer for this additional discount, come on, SOMEBODY ordered this tree and got that discount unless there is a multiplicity of like complaints.
FACT 2: There was an additional GROUPON $10 discount for spending at least $25 that my daughter did not receive. I simply believe that "there is a DEAD CAT on the line" with this situation. I really would feel badly to think that Groupon cheats and lies because I have never ever had one single concern with any transactions between Groupon and myself in the past. I just don't like ANYONE trying to make me think that I didn't see what I saw or didn't understand what was written. I hold a higher education degree and my daughter has 3 to her credit. I am certain between the two of us being proficient in reading and understanding WHAT we have read, the mistake is not ours to own.
Final observation: I do not believe that Groupon will care about this situation as indicated by the reaction and action of their Consumer Representative I communicated with but I intend to put this experience on all media so that others will proceed with caution when on the Groupon site. It is always a good thing to share negative experiences, not for the purpose of causing harm but to make the INNOCENT buyer more purchasing process vigilant on these retail sites. Thank you for your time.

Purchased a High End TV through Groupon last Tuesday. The ad read that they delivered to your door within 48 hours after purchase. It's been a week, and the item hasn't even been shipped! Their trucking company states that it's not even in their warehouse for pick up, so they can't ship, or deliver it. I wasn't being impossible about the fact that it's taken longer than is stated on their wall, but my main tv blew out, and I have relatives coming for the holiday. Groupon tells me that the information that is clearly visible on their wall is a discrepancy, on their part, and refuse to be held accountable for it, but on the other hand are holding my feet to the fire on their "7 business day window" which is in fine print somewhere in their contract.
They refused to give me my money back, and expect me to wait another 70 some odd hours until they can get some real info on when the product would actually be shipped! Now they're offering some compensation points, like they will actually make up for my entire family coming for a holiday with nowhere to watch football! My next stop... the attorney general's office!

"I understand you have changed your mind about using your Groupon coupon", said 'Groupon support' in their email response to my complaint. No, I did not change my mind. I wanted the service. I was standing in the salon ready to use the coupon. The salon, however, refused to give me a receipt for the cash I was handing over to pay the tax. There is no dispute with having to pay the tax. However, the business IS required to provide a receipt (and for, especially, cash.)
I phoned Groupon 'support' from the salon. Two reps hung up during our conversation. I called the 3rd time, and Sheila reiterated the pat response of 'after 3 days there are no refunds.' With all my 'buts', and 'I do want the service', and 'I just want a receipt to acknowledge payment'... the same 'support' was repeated: no refund. On emails back and forth they keep sending the same no refund response. I then requested they credit my account. Same response: no refund. So they are allowing me to be out of pocket for requesting documentation of tax payment from their service providers. It is the responsibility of the business to give me receipt of payment. They provide NO support once you have released your payment. I will never use GROUPON again.

I contacted Groupon via chat and phone and never received resolution. This was the first time I had a problem using Groupon and this was a merchant and Groupon issue, not a paying customer issue. I am distrustful of Groupon now, and felt my concerns were disregarded. I requested a refund but never received it; I didn't even get an offer for a Groupon credit! Not a good way to keep a customer, Groupon! I have unsubscribed from Groupon and LivingSocial, since Groupon recently bought them out.

I ordered boots through Groupon for $25 and I read reviews about the sizing being small so I ordered a whole size bigger than my normal size. And they were very, very tight. Checking Groupon page, I found out this item was unreturnable. Technically, I wanted an exchange and after calling Customer Service, and holding on the phone over 15 mins, and being unable to use the automatic callback feature (the system wouldn't accept that option and just kept looping back to the same prompt), I hung up, dialed an alternate 888 number but the same thing happened. I had my first experience trying to place an order with Groupon today. Their site is unorganized and unreliable. There is no straight track to order and have a product shipped. You deal with Groupon, then the vendor which knows nothing of what is going on with Groupon. The website directs you in directions which cause you to order the same product 2-3 times by asking if you are ready to confirm order. They will refill the overcharge after 10 days. ALL of this before I place the shipping address of a baskets.com purchase. No one can identify the item you ordered. Their system is RIDICULOUS. A brilliant idea that doesn't work. So long Groupon.

Well, this is illegal in Texas - it's called false advertising! Needless to say, I did not buy the pans. I'll never purchase anything from Groupon again.

I discovered on 11/12/2016 that 2 charges had been made to my Groupon account. Thankfully I did not have any current credit card info in my Groupon account. All credit cards were either expired or deactivated, so the charges that were attempted were unable to be processed. On 11/12/2016, I requested that the purchases be canceled, deleted all credit card info and changed my password. On 11/12/2016, I also contacted Groupon to let them know this had occurred. The lady that responded said she would be happy to help me and told me that it was likely I had left my account open on a shared computer and someone else had placed the orders after I left. I told her that I had not left my account open on a computer, that in fact I hadn't even used Groupon since 2013 and I don't have a computer right now as I'm currently moving.
She then said she needed info about the charges: the type of credit card that was used, billing address, last four numbers of the credit card, expiration date, amount of the charges, date of the charges and the name on my billing statement (for who was paid). I gave her everything that I could, but I also explained that I didn't have the expiration date of the credit card that was used because it was active.
Discover sent me a new card several years ago due to possible fraud on my account. I no longer have the credit card that was stored in my Groupon account because it was deactivated and I don't know what the expiration date was. She would not listen to me. I had to explain 3 times that I don't know the expiration date of that credit card, that it wasn't even active. The only thing she did do that I requested was close my account. I still have no answers as to why or how this happened. And based on her comments to me, I don't believe that she took me seriously. It's a good thing that the only credit card info I had stored in Groupon was for credit cards that had been deactivated, or this situation would have been much worse.

I purchased an item for $24.99 USD which went through my Canadian Credit Card at $33.93. The refund they gave was $24.99 CDN. I called assuming it was a simple error. They were extremely rude to me and told me they were only giving me $24.99CDN and I said that's fine as long as it's USD. They said no it's an 'even playing field'.
I tried every angle to explain the currency exchange, how different countries are different, etc. He just said “No you're not losing money. It's an even playing field.” Screw that! When I got to Key West, I inquired about the dive on the vendor phone on two separate days. On day one, it was rainy and very windy and the person I spoke to on the phone suggested trying to do it tomorrow. I called back the next day and inquired further about the 2-hour diving experience. I wanted to know for sure it meant getting into the ocean for the 2 hours and told it did not. It only included some video about scuba diving, putting on the scuba equipment and splashing around in a pool, after all it said no certification required, even though I pointed out I'm already a certified open water diver. So I did not schedule it and assumed I would just get my money refunded once I returned home. WRONG!
Read the fine print and buyer beware, folks! I was told by the customer service that they only refund within 3 days of purchase or if the vendor is unable to provide the service. Well, I could hardly ask for a refund within 3 days of purchase when I bought it 6 days ahead. And what I said about the service not being exactly as advertised, I was told to read the fine print. I have complained to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General in my state, but I don't believe I'll get my money back. This place must be run by the Sopranos and their Attorneys. I bought 3 Groupon for a restaurant in Bluffton, SC that I was able to visit once and use one of the coupons before Hurricane Matthew hit the area and severely damaged the local community and its businesses. My coupons expired about a week after the hurricane hit and the business I purchased the coupons for had not reopened for business due to damage, flooding, tree damage, etc. I asked Groupon for a refund since I was not able to use the coupons during the time period since the business had not reopened for several weeks due to the hurricane. Groupon's lame response was that they were sorry that the "weather problems" caused me not to be able to use the coupon and there was nothing they could do. I then appealed to higher levels of management and after over a week was told that they would not do anything after 3 days after the expiration of the coupon.
Haven't these people ever heard about the damage that a hurricane does? Where do they live? I found their attitude totally unreasonable, inflexible, bureaucratic and insulting. Many times the merchants that advertise with Groupon just want to generate more business with new customers. However more times than not for some reason there is a lot of information that is incorrect in even reaching that merchant or maybe not everything is exactly as it was written. So unfortunately you just bought a "groupon" & have to write to (or call) Groupon, communicate with inexperienced customer service reps who usually copy a generic response (that doesn't even answer your question because they didn't read your e-mail) or reads from a script. "I'm sorry for your inconvenience & (if you are within a time frame) I'll see if I can refund your money", that almost never is a refund but a credit so you need to use Groupon.
I have had SO many issues escalated because the employees just didn't want to do any work. The last issues were for 2 spas that 1 I left several messages & never got a response back so couldn't make an appointment. The other one they didn't have a nail tech on staff & didn't know if/when they would have one again but it was advertised that nail appointments would be available. I called Groupon about both issues over & over again, they "refunded...gave me Groupon bucks" for these & really upset because I got them at a discount, so what I planned on getting-a facial & pedicure, now I could not get 2 services for the money I got back! I was lucky to find one place for a facial for that amount & no places in my area but that 1 had pedicures. I was told to check back with Groupon because they were going to try to resolve the issues with those spas.
More than a week later, several phone calls & e-mails back & forth (to reps who again don't read messages & reply with a generic response that has NOTHING to do with what you asked), I made one last call. I solved their escalated calls to BOTH spas in less than 24 hours, when they had them in the "escalated" department for well over a week! I called because they needed to know the truth & I was a very fair person who had already spoken very badly about both places. Since I did Groupon's job for them (not the first time, not the second...
Hate to say I've done their job for MANY years already) & certain reps I spoke with told me that the special department would be making a call directly to the spa & he even said he shouldn't be telling me this..I tried to let him know ANYONE could call the spa directly, it's not a secret & he still insisted that Groupon had a "secret" number to call. Clearly I had to prove him wrong when I called the secret direct line to the spa & even spoke with the "secret" spa manager to let her know what had been going on first when I tried to make an appointment & then everything that followed.
Groupon's employees really just do not know what they are doing, nor do they seem to care, people like myself who end up doing their job in a few calls even though they all just keep passing the buck-which in the end both the customer AND the merchant lose out! I have finally spent my last Groupon dollar & for years I have given them chances to "make all their mistakes up to me", & the past years they actually seemed to want to but every year I see/hear things get worse & worse. Now they don't even want to, the apologies are always the same "sorry for your inconvenience" & that's IT! They don't even want to make it up to you or try to make it better. It's hey, we are sorry so take it or leave it. I'm leaving it now! I was a loyal Groupon customer for well over ten years & now I'm a loyal Groupon customer service advocate against using them because people need to be warned!
If you do not make enough noise about your issue, you won't even get your money back & they won't blink an eye about keeping your money. If you saw the law suit about their expiration dates you know what I mean. It was a HUGE class action suit...they have different expiration dates for their Groupons & that isn't right! If you bought something at a discount, unless that place is going out of business why should Groupon make you use something you PAID for as quickly as a little over a month? Nothing should have an expiration date on it, if you bought something at a store at a discount, it is still yours isn't it? If they are doing it to generate a new business, that business is still going to want a new customer from the time they open until they are not in business anymore.
Many places do have in the fine print for "new customers" only & there is nothing wrong with that. The business can put whatever restrictions they want on it & it's up to the customer to make sure to read it & that they are ok with all the terms. It's when everything is in writing & sounds good but next thing you know you call the place for weeks, start looking it up online everywhere & you start seeing people writing things like the restaurant has been closed for over 2 months now! Yet Groupon is STILL selling it to people like there is no problem! Groupon has a LOT of problems! Naturally I can't put an order #, I'd have too many to put in...

Clicked on help, described the problem and got an email from customer service asking me to verify my credit card and which "charges" I was disputing. Clearly a cut & paste response from someone who hadn't even read and/or comprehended the problem. I re-stated the problem, sent it off and the next day got another email saying they couldn't help me unless I provided the information asked for previously: the credit card I had on file and the "charge" I was disputing.
I again stated I could not remember which credit card I had on file, had not placed an order in a long while, was not disputing any charges and that my actual problem was that I could not access my account, not create a new account. Two days later, got another email from a different Groupon customer service rep, which was an exact duplicate of the first email, asking for my credit card info and "charges" I was disputing. I explained the situation a third time. That was three days ago. Haven't had any contact from them since. So long, Groupon.

Most of the support people are from India. They have no understanding of barely anything that's going on so you won't get a resolution. Everything I returned for any issues, was returned to me as a Groupon credit. They force you to use the app again. I tried to use it and everything I bought was automatically refunded back to them. So I was NEVER able to get or use my money. I contacted them for 3-4 months straight they would not assist me over the phone saying "a concern specialist is going to email you. We can't help you, you just gotta wait until they feel like emailing you and helping you."
Well it's been 6 months and I have yet to get a resolution or my money back. They end chats while you're still chatting with them. EXTREMELY RUDE. Not to mention the phone. They also don't detailed or inform you of what the issue is, they just say wait until that department emails you like wtf? My money - it's just gonna sit there? Can I get a refund? Thy refused. WOW Groupon is officially a SCAM APP. Do not buy from there. Everything you get is cheaply made and or defective. Don't expect your money back either or any support from customer service. I was SHOCKED to find a review on this company exactly as my very own. It was as if I had written it myself. I had the same experience. I bought vouchers for canvases for my business. I ordered them. The order stated it would take up two weeks. But The order confirmation stated 5 weeks! When I emailed them to inquire, it became 60 business days!
I requested a refund of the full amount charged to my credit card and a voucher in the amount of my original voucher to remain as a credit for future purchases once their "production" problems were fixed. They refused. Now after reading the other review, it appears their "production" issues are just a guise to mislead buyers. Groupon should refund the amount paid for the vouchers because I feel this company is fraudulent and fake. I cannot reach Groupon at all to complain, so how do I let them know?

The number went to a mailbox that was full. When I called back and spent another 20 min they told me the resolution group would contact me in five hours. I told them that this didn't work because the last spot would be sold out. The rep argued with me and said "well what do you want me to do". Are you kidding, I want this mistake fixed.
I asked for a supervisor and was put on hold only to be disconnected 10 min later. I called back and got Trevor who was initially pleasant until he heard the story and then told me there is nothing he could do. I raised my voice and said "this is **" and he quickly told me if I cussed again he would hang up. I demanded a supervisor and was placed on hold for 30 min before the "supervisor" came back and told me there was nothing they could do. I now had one ticket so I asked for a refund on the remaining voucher that didn't work and had to buy the ticket full price. I've got my refund after 2 days but I am not happy at all as it was $30 short. It seems that GROUPON is waiting for the right moment to refund money when the exchange rate gives them some profit. It is a scam. I didn't purchase anything but they earned $30 of my money. I think it is a scam!!! They have the capability for instant withdrawal and sending instant email confirmation but they need 10 days to return money. Of course if they do that there would be no money to earn.
I'm also waiting for my other refund and I'm afraid it will be short as well. My second purchase was intentional. I wanted to purchase the 2 night stay at Niagara, ON. I'm Canadian and the hotel is in Canada. At the time of the purchase it wasn't obvious that the prices are in US$. My mistake. This was the worst Groupon experience I have ever had and I am very hesitant to ever make another Groupon purchase. I arrived at my hotel at 10PM after a 4 hour drive and was told that they didn't have my reservation. The hotel said Groupon is supposed to call the hotel 24 hours in advance to reserve the room and they have "had this problem before." When we called Groupon, they said the charge didn't go through on my card and the order was canceled. Immediately after my purchase, I got a call from my bank about possible fraudulent charges (they said they call for all Groupon charges because they have so much fraud). We determined it was a legitimate charge and they removed the block.
Groupon never made another attempt to process the charge and never notified me in any way that my reservation was canceled. The representative said I could re-order it for the next night. I needed a place to stay last night! I was standing in the lobby! My biggest complaint is the fact that I was not notified by Groupon that the charge didn't go through and that my reservation was canceled. I had to find another hotel in the middle of the night and pay an extra $100. I am requesting a $100 credit to my account for the hardship I experienced as a result of Groupon's incompetence and negligence.

I purchased a AA (DS) Casual Leather Handbag on May 5, 2016 for my daughter's birthday. It was delivered on May 10, 2016. My daughter's birthday was July 10 and unfortunately, she did not like the color of the purse. I said I would exchange. I contacted customer service on July 27th and they said it had been over 14 days and the purse could not be returned. OK. Fine. I decided since I could not return the purse - or get credit, I would use it. This was the end of July - still a brand new purse. I used until the beginning of October when I noticed that the strap stitching was undone and the braid that was holding the strap to the purse was no longer holding the strap.
So, I called customer service (October 5) - someone in the Philippines. He was very polite and read his script perfectly. Unfortunately, that was no help. I was asking for a credit for a defective purse. He just kept saying it was over 14 days and the purse could not be returned and no credit available. I received an email on October 6 saying they did not understand my problem. I, again, stated my problem. I received another email on October 8, with the same rhetoric, but also telling me to read the "Fine Print" section. I did that - it does not say anything about defective merchandise! I even sent pictures. I received another email on October 9 that stated "I can confirm that all of your comments have been anonymously passed on to all relevant departments." I replied and asked if I would be hearing from the relevant departments.
Another email on the 10th - "If your order arrives damaged or defective, you can always return it within 14 days of delivery. Unfortunately, we're not in a position to guarantee our products outside of that window and cannot assist with a refund at this point. You can visit http://gr.pn/GoodsReturns to read more about our return policy." Return policy - "Eligibility: You can return a Groupon Goods item within 14 days of delivery unless otherwise stated in the Fine Print. Items marked Final Sale cannot be returned." Nothing about defective merchandise. I asked if they actually had a defective merchandise policy - no answer, no return, no credit. BUYER BEWARE!! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - All out of country and they can't do anything and no one else will contact you. No other phone number.

I am crying, I have spoke to 8 people in the last two days, and have had my card charged twice. I found an x box on sale from 250 to 200, refurbished. I jumped at the chance to order it. I placed the order with a 10 off coupon making the order come to 200 with shipping. I get an email saying the order is declined because my credit card didn't match the person I was shipping it to (it was a gift for my fiance).
I call in and ask, "what's up" and they said they can only talk to him and there's nothing I can do since it was declined and I cannot reorder. I found the group on was still available on the site so I called in again, this time they said if I got my fiance to call, he could use my credit card. I made him call, he explained the situation and this is the fourth rep, she said it would go through, she updated the info and said good to go, and I will get a confirmation email in 24 hours. I didn't get any email.
I talked to someone on their chat who was very rude and refused me a credit. Our interaction went like this: Me - "Hi there, I'm wondering if I can get an update on the x box order, as I didn't get my 24 hour confirmation email." Them- "Ok ma'am I cancelled that order for you." "EXCUSE ME? I never asked you to cancel it." And they just asked me to repurchase it 3 more times and said, "There isn't anything I can do." So now I have 4 orders, 3 refunded.
I call customer service one more time, they say, "Okay - I'll credit you the difference so you get it at the price when you purchased it during the sale." She only credited me because I was profusely crying and she could tell how upset I was. Because it takes them 10 days to refund the card I didn't have enough on the card to repurchase it. I said okay sounds good, I repurchased it and it said it would automatically use the 65 dollar group on bucks she added to the account. I drove to the bank immediately, and broke open my savings piggy bank to get the money in the account to pay for it. I thought it would go through and then I would be refunded the earlier order and everything was golden. Wrong. It's now 1 am, I get an email saying it was declined and its because the bill charged me the full amount and did not use my group on bucks as initially promised.
So I tried to reorder it one more time and then it said, "Order cannot be processed, contact a customer sales rep." This makes 8 reps so far, and I can't seem to order this x box even though there is the correct money on the account. Their system doesn't automatically charge for the group on bucks. It's ridiculous. I am so frustrated and beyond angry.

I recently just booked a wine tour with Groupon. I have many complaints about the service and experience I had. Initial when I was looking for a over night trip, I knew I wanted to stay in Niagara Falls. I found a Groupon that stated "1 night stay at the Old Stone Inn, and 3 wine tasting experiences". I thought I was getting an amazing deal for only $154.00, so I booked it. When I received my credit card bill a couple of weeks later, I was surprised to see my $154.00 turned into $220.00. I assume the price that was advertised online was in US??? This surprising is not my complaint! A couple of days before heading down for my mini vacation, I decided to call the hotel to confirm if I needed to plan ahead and book any of these wine tasting tours.
I spoke with a lady who assured me, I don't need to reserve anything, and I can just go to the wineries "whenever" I wanted to. So...I left for my trip Saturday afternoon, looking forward to spending the evening tasting wine. When I arrived at my hotel, I was told check in was not until 4 pm. I decided to take a walk to the falls and enjoy the afternoon. When I returned to the Old Stone Inn, I was told I had to pay $20 for parking! And also $5 for their WIFI? Hummm okay? I was given 3 coupons for my wine tasting and was told to call the wineries to "book" and schedule my tours!!! Didn't I call a couple of days prior to this to confirm I didn't have to do this. I went up to my hotel, which by the way was a disaster! (I will do another review on the hotel itself) and started looking online and calling the wineries.
I was told all of them ran from 11 am - 6 pm roughly, and I would not be able to do any of them that night. To no surprise I was very upset. There was no communication surrounding this and also there was no shuttle bus to take me to these tours the next day. What is the point of booking a wine tasting tour if you have to drive yourself there and back? Groupon did not do a good job at all explaining all of these on their website and setting expectations for their customers. This is the first time I have ever booked a mini trip on Groupon and ensure you it will be my last!

When I found Groupon, I thought what a great idea. Unfortunately then I tried to utilize their service. It is horrible on goods. Goods are shipped via Federal Express to the local post office for delivery. It does not work well at all. It is considered delivered when it hits the local post office leaving you to wonder where's my stuff. But, unlike many other online retailers, they make you interrupt your neighbors lives by asking if they've seen your stuff, ask your building personnel if they have your stuff and check behind bushes or other hiding places where your goods may have been placed. This is ridiculous.
Further attempting to speak with a customer service person is fraught with overseas operators who are not native English speakers who may be very polite, but are not helpful whatsoever. Only through direct threats of contacting your credit card company, the better business bureau, the FBI and local police were credits issued. Now, you have a credit, but you have to use it with their site. Argh. Someone needs to bring a class action lawsuit.

In the dinner menu, each Parillada costs $16.95, they do not say if this Parillada is for 2 or 4 people in the menu, but if you ask they will tell you it is for 1 person, but could easily feed 2. Bottom line, what they do give you is TWO $16.95 Parilladas (not 4) plus 4 small side dishes. This has a value of $45.90, not $86 as advertised in their add. I asked if I could get the first time user coupon reactivated - first through email. They said it is just like a grocery store coupon. My reply was, if I am at a grocery store, if the product is not available, they give me the coupon and ask me to come back later... Then I reached out via chat. Asked her if I could get it back in a nice way. The lady said "No, you will not be able to get it back." And ended the chat within 5 seconds. I was just typing during that time.

I got tracking no. in the same email. When you tracking your order it says tracking no. doesn't exist. Call customer care around 10 times regarding my order and always they said next couple of days. Even I asked for refund they saying 15 to 20 days for refund. Worst service. Never recommended anyone to buy expensive stuff from them.

I purchased a Pro Spin Brush for Perfect Skin - Face and Body on August 18th, 2016. The shipping was the only thing quick about this experience; shipping took 4 days and I received it on August 22nd, 2016. Once I opened the box, I realized it didn't come with batteries and I procrastinated for about a week before buying batteries. My product had either gotten damaged during shipping (the shipping envelope and box it came in were in perfect condition and not at all "damaged") or I received a defective product; either way, it didn't work and I wanted all $25.88 back I had spent on it.
I contacted Customer Support through the Live Chat feature and was granted a return label that I sent out on August 31st, 2016. I followed tracking up until September 7th (almost 2 weeks ago from today). It was delivered to their Return Center in Hebron, KY (only 8 hours from where I live and I sent it using priority mail, which should have taken 2-3 days) on September 7th and I haven't gotten any updates since. Their customer support is slow and not very helpful when it came to my questions. I received the same answer from every agent I spoke with about my return status, that it would take 2-3 weeks to receive my refund, which they claim it will be issued into the same form of payment used i.e. my debit card. I still have not received my refund and am frankly disappointed in Groupon.

To keep my story short I'm only going shorten what happened over 3 months before the concert. On July 1 I purchased 4 concert tickets. The representative told me I could print them the next day when the deal ended. I kept getting a connection error when I tried to print. I emailed the first time Groupon. They told me they could not locate my email. A few emails later I had to email my receipt and screen shots of my Groupon account. They found my account but told me to wait 24 to 48 hours. The third time wait a few weeks. After the fifth, sixth, I lost count email and still no tickets. They explained there was a venue changeable. The tickets weren't available yet. I got suspicious and asked for my money back. The answer was no and to wait till Sept the day before the concert. They would only be at that time not before. The day before the show I tried to print tickets. The screen didn't have a tab to print.
It would redirect and say connection problems. I emailed Groupon several times and called. I asked to be transferred to the USA. I was and the representative told me that some Groupon customers weren't able to print their tickets and I needed to go to Will Call. I explained fearfully I didn't want to use Will Call, that I wanted my tickets in my hand the day of the show. A lot more emails, a few unsuccessful talks with foreigners that pretend to listen but don't. I told Groupon the day of the show I won't be able to print tickets. The rep emails me a link for the tickets hours before the show after I asked several times "did I just lose $260"? There is a lot more that happened from being ignored, lied to and mislead. I left messages at Ticketmaster and FedEx form to be called back. No one has called. Save yourself the headache and disappointment. Don't buy from Groupon!

I purchased a Fitbit Flex on the Groupon app. I have been wanting one for a long time and the deal was too good to pass up. When I received the Fitbit the clasp that closes the band around your wrist was missing. It had everything in it but the clasp. I sent two emails to customer service regarding this issue and never heard anything back. I finally called customer service. I was told that they cannot just send me the clasp and there are no returns. My options were to keep it as is and basically purchase a clasp from somewhere else or return it. Why would I go purchase a clasp I had already paid for with my order? Returning the product and most definitely will not be using them again.

There was not one like it. I called Groupon. Trying to understand the first person was frustrating. I told him I was having a problem with his accent that I needed to speak with someone else. He said I couldn't speak to anyone else. I hung up. Called again tried to tell the second person my issue. She said sorry that I could reorder the same item. I asked why I didn't get the one I ordered to begin with and asked to speak to a supervisor. She told me to call back and hung up.
Called again for a third time and by this time I am fuming. Told this person my issue that I feel it was a bait and switch. The diffuser sent to me isn't on their site. She said she would send me a return label to send it back. I said I would not be doing anymore business with them. I would like to know how a person gets by the phone people. For several months now I have not been able to access the "my groupons" page on my account. I have been contacting Groupon's customer support over e-mail since that time. Every time they first tell me to do all this technical stuff like update my browser, delete my cookies... Well none of that has worked and when I get back to say that does not work they either stop communicating with me or tell me their tech team is on it and then I do not hear back. Other people are able to get their groupons on the same computers I can't so I know it is a specific problem with my account. I have told Groupon this several times and I get ignored. Since this has gone on for several months I have had groupons expire and I can't use any of my groupons without having Groupon send me attachments to them.
So for the last week I have been asking for my groupons all to be refunded and my account to be closed because I am sick of this. I either get no reply, a generic "sorry you're upset" and yes the same update your browser/cookie reply. Ridiculous, right? So I called. Mid sentence we got disconnected on my first call. My second call made it to a supervisor who could not authorize refunds... Not sure what good getting a supervisor was if he can't even do that... but anyway he said he was going to escalate it and call me back and once again mid sentence we got disconnected. Has he called me back? Emailed? NO! I intend to file with better business as they have essentially stolen my money for several months now.

If I could give negative star ratings I would. I ordered a California King mattress from them and my original payment did not go through. I received no email from them stating if there was a problem with processing the payment, so I contacted customer service. I tried live chat, no one was available, tried calling, the phone just kept riding, so I emailed them and they responded an hour later telling me to contact my bank. I contacted my bank and they told me that my card was declined and that the payment was canceled so I should try to make the purchase again, which I did. The second time around I had no issues making the payment, I received a confirmation email for 1 mattress set and thought that was the end of it. I woke up the next day to a second confirmation email for a second mattress that was processed at 1 AM which obviously I did not make.
I tried contacting customer service that day and the first few people I spoke with did not understand English very well so they were completely lost when I was describing my situation. I finally got a hold of someone later that day who understood and he told me that they couldn't cancel the payment because it had "already left the warehouse". After explaining to him that I did not authorized this second charge on my card he put me on hold for a long time, came back and instructed me to accept the extra mattress then contact them so that they can send me the return label and I would get my refund.
The mattress was shipped to me within 11 days and once I received them I called Groupon customer service once again, explaining my situation for the 12th time, kept getting put on hold and finally was told that they were just waiting on approval and that I would be receiving my return label within 48 hours as well as being assured I would receive my refund. 48 hours went by and I received nothing, so I called again, got the same thing. Waited 48 more hours and called them back. The last person I spoke with informed me that there is nothing that they can do for me because the mattress was a final sale item and the manufacturer refuses to take it back. I tried contacting my bank to dispute the charge, but the bank can't help me because I am still in possession of the product and if I return it to them I will not only have to pay out of pocket but will not get reimbursed for the shipping costs. Lesson learned never buy anything from Groupon ever again.

Normally, I would not be too concerned, but I am traveling and so I will not be available to receive the package that I bought and will not be returning for several days. The issue is that Groupon stated 2 day shipping when I placed the order, but the reality is they are shipping it on a 10 day schedule. The only reason I am writing this review is because of how upset over how the whole Groupon system is setup. Let me explain. So I own a business that helps with back pain. What we do is very different and innovative. So, I decided to try Groupon to get more traffic thru the door, and for more folks to try our program. First off, I was not able to setup the ad post as I would like to. I wanted to put something with "back pain" in the title, but they wouldn't let me because it's "against their editorial style". So, instead they just put "Personal Training sessions". The title is crucial, because we are not a gym, but were in part portrayed as one.
Second, the whole payment agreement is a ripoff. The way they have it setup is: You have 2, 4, or 6 sessions (in our situation). I will use the 6 sessions as an example. 6 sessions normally cost $222. They mark it down by about 60-80%. Ours ended up costing about $65 (which is less than how much 2 sessions cost). Next, they would take 50% of that for themselves (that left us with about $32.50) PLUS they charge a "transaction fee" of about 3%. So, in the end, we went from $222 to $22.90!!! That is just ridiculous! We were just making them money. The unfortunate part was that most of the people buying the Groupon were our current customers. About 40% were new.
Now about how we got our money. They keep 20% of your revenue until the end of the ad run (about 3-4 months I believe). They pay you on the 3rd and 17th of each month (at least those were the dates for us). We ended up canceling the ad 1 month ago, after just getting a few Groupon sold. Now we have to wait two months to get the rest of our payments. Super inefficient for us as a small business.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND GROUPON to any business. For consumers, it's a bargain! But, it's at the expense of the business. They make virtually almost nothing. The owner of the restaurant next door told me that he refused to signup with Groupon when they solicited him because he would be losing a lot of money.
Now the single good part about our experience: Some of the people that came in with Groupon continued afterwards with the program (about 3-4 people). Overall, it was a horrible experience though. We lost money and valuable time, doing sessions for pretty much free! Disappointed and don't know why Groupon would be ripping off businesses like this. Like I said, for consumers it's great! but for businesses, I don't see the positives at all. You are better off reaching thousands of people through Facebook ads and offer your own promotions. A very disappointed Business Owner.

My wife and I purchased a Groupon hotel room night at the Lancaster Host Resort in Lancaster, PA. After driving for most part of the day, we arrived at the hotel at 8 pm (EST), all set to have a shower and get some sleep. To our utter shock, we were told by the Front Desk, that they were not receiving guests, as they did not have AC or running hot water. They could not call us ahead of time and warn us, as Groupon had not shared our contact details with them. We were now asked to contact Groupon and ask to be booked at another hotel. It was 8.00 pm EST. We called Groupon and the agent at the telephone number 1-888-664-4482 heard us out and said that she was unable to help, as she was from another department. She said she would transfer us to the 'Getaways' department. She did, and we got the voicemail, which said that they were closed for the day.
We called again and now explained to the agent that we needed help - she promised to connect us to a 'live agent'. Once again, she put the call through, and after being kept on hold for 5 minutes, somebody at the other end, hung up. Now, tired and frustrated, we had no option but to accept the compassionate gesture of the hotel to have us checked in to a room anyway. A room that had no AC and running hot water. Certainly, not what we paid for. On our return, we emailed Groupon and explained everything to them. Other than the 'standard corporate mail' we received no refund or compensation from them. It has been more than 5 days.

If I can get this before 24th, then it's ok to ship to the address I provided, if not please refund it to my credit card which I used to purchase. Also I would like to point out some bad experiences when I deal with your customer service people and I think you can share this with your management to show how bad is your customer service. I don't remember or they didn't mentioned their name who assist me, but see below how they respond to me.
11th Thursday I spoke with a lady with southern accent and she was totally mislead me. She asked me to call FedEx and check because my package was sent to a different address and she said that is FedEx problem. When I contact Fedex, they said they're not responsible for making shipping labels and they just doing delivery part. And then I called to your customer service and talked to the same lady and she said, "then it may be our shipping department problem and it will take another 3 days to investigate." Do I need to wait another 3 days until they investigate their internal problems after I waited 14 days?
Not only that, that lady didn't even bother to gave me a ticket number if it created and I didn't even receive one single email that saying "we made a mistake and will be correct it soon." If I didn't send message through my Groupon account, I may still not receive any email. It seems like this lady hired only for that day just to answer a phone calls, as she don't have any idea about your shipping and handling process.
12th Friday again I called to your customer service because I didn't get any respond within 24 hours as previous lady has said. This time some Asian accented lady was answered the phone and she make my nerve. She's was so stupid than previous lady. She was asking me to check with neighbors whether they have received my package. See how stupid that lady are, if she pulled my order details already she can clearly see what is my shipping address and what is my billing address. This was sent to a totally different address and she's asking me to check with my neighbor's. Please educate that lady how is the things going on states. Maybe she can go door to door in her country and ask about the packages, but not in USA. Also after I explain my situation, she's saying, "sir please tell me again what happen???" I was hang up the phone because there is no pointing to talk with a lady who can't understand what I'm talking.
Considering overall situation, it's ashamed that you people can't deliver two items which is placed as an one order. I'm shopping on Groupon because I'm not searching cheap stuff, even though it's a expensive item, I might buy because I like it and I like to shop some deals. Take this as a lesson and improve your customer service and delivery services if you want to keep customers with you. I'm not sure I'll shop with Groupon in the future and I do not recommend your site to anyone. As an unhappy customer I will definitely put my experience on Google reviews.

I have explained in 12 email replies so far that this is simply not the case. I suspect someone has compromised my debit card number and have canceled the card and reported the fraudulent charge to my bank to prevent more Groupon charges for something I didn't order. Placed the order on 7/20/16. Have not received order, as of 8/4/16. No information available when I click on "track the package". Customer service was not able to provide ANY information at all. Did the live text, email, and called by phone - for multiple DAYS. No one was able to assist me. Called today, and they refunded my money... which will take 10 business days to be refunded. Still never received my items, and received no explanation. It is clearly apparent that this company does not care one ounce for their customer's satisfaction.
There are so many options on the web to make purchases. (Take a class from Amazon - you can track your order by the second, and it arrives on time!) It is a shame that, conceptually, this business has a great idea. It is unfortunate that they can't deliver what they sell. AND, the customer service is non-existent. That didn't seem to bother them either. So if you're going to buy from Groupon just be careful of what you see. As they say, if it looks too good to be true it probably is.

I ordered a gift for my mother, being promised it would be to me in two days. Well, after I received it nearly two WEEKS after promised. During this time period, I contacted Groupon letting them know of my discontent. I return it immediately, did not even open it. I receive an email two days later saying that it started its process and it should take around 5 days and then I would be credited in up to 10 days. Ridiculous, but I could handle that. However, on the tracking information, it indicates that my return was received two days after I received the email saying it was going to process, so I figured everything was fine. I was very wrong. I go on the Groupon page to get more information about my return through the FAQ section. I learned that apparently they do not have record of the return despite the fact that the return is showing up on my Groupon page and I have received an email with tracking information about it.
I initiated a chat with their customer service over twenty minutes ago and my "rep" has not yet said a word. I have never received this terrible of service, EVER. I do not comprehend how falsely advertising and immediately withdrawing the amount of my purchase out of my account before a tracking label was even created leads to MORE false statements or policies and a complete lack of accountability on their behalf. I would not recommend ever using this website to anyone. They do not fulfill their promises, and even if you do receive your order when promised unlike myself, I would really hope that you are 100% satisfied with your order that you did not spend a decent amount of money because you probably will not get it back and may never get a clear reason as to why. I do not know how this website is able to stay functioning. I really do not. I hope that others do not have as negative of an experience with this website as I have.

I tried the chat button and by the time someone came on, chat had closed for the evening. When I put "Where do I enter the coupon code" nothing comes up in their help menu. The "need more help" button just loops you back to the same stupid help page. There is no customer service contact button. Is it just me, or is it odd that the free shipping starts at an order amount of $34.99 and I ordered $34.98 so I would have to order just one more thing to get the free shipping. It used to be easy to order, now it seems like the coupons are just lures to get you to the order page and everything is directed at getting you to order more.

I purchased tickets for a soccer game, Bayern Munich vs Inter-Milan in Charlotte this past Saturday, July 30th from Groupon Live. When we arrived to the game, 4 out of our 6 tickets did not work and we were unable to enter the game at all because it said the tickets had already been used. We printed these tickets at my apartment 5 minutes before the game and there is no way anyone else could have had them, so clearly Groupon or whoever they obtained the tickets from sold these to more than one person. We did not get to attend the game at all as we did not want to split up the group and 4 of the 6 were unable to enter; this was a total waste of the $28 we paid per ticket.
I figured at least Groupon would refund the tickets as every time I have had any time of poor experience with Stubhub, Vividseats, Ticketmaster or any other site I have used that sells event tickets, they have always had friendly customer service and rectified any negative situation that arises. Despite Groupon's supposed "promise" to guarantee a positive experience, this is clearly not the case as their customer service, despite acknowledging that I was unable to even attend the event with the tickets they sold to me, made no attempt to offer any type of recompense. They claim that there is no refund after the day of purchase, so I am supposed to somehow realize that the tickets they sell me aren't going to work the very day I buy them, a week before the actual event, and ask for a refund that day. Obviously, to be treated fairly by this company, you have to be able to see the future.
I have never had such a negative experience with a company before, with such total unwillingness to take responsibility for their own errors. I will be deactivating my Groupon account and never using their service again. I would highly recommend that others do the same, obviously this is backed up by the terrible reviews Groupon has here at the time of this posting.

I spent over an hour and a half on the phone with 3 different people because I continued to be hung up on, which in itself is absolutely intolerable. One lady told me I was asking too much to have the money put back in my account immediately. I ended up getting an email a few hours after my extensive phone conversation with a bunch of rude, unhelpful people. I have changed it now about seven times in a range of difficult to simple to remember, and nothing brings it back up. There is no customer service number available and they sent me a survey to tell them how they were doing, so I gave them the worst review I have ever given a company. I am wondering if the client saw the reviews and thought I was associated with this company and freaked out. It's probably good that I can't log in. This company is never getting my business again. Then I received an email on Friday saying that the package was ready for shipping but had not shipped yet. It took a whole work week just to process the order before shipping. This is unacceptable when companies like Amazon can get my order processed and delivered to me in 2 days (Prime member). I ordered a similar product from Amazon then canceled it because Groupon was cheaper. I placed the order on the same day and the Amazon order was shipped, received, and returned before Groupon even started the shipping process. Unacceptable!

Unsupportive and unhelpful customer service. The existing loophole in their methodology for redeeming groupons - i.e. a customer is supposed to give their groupon number at the time of booking, and there is no guarantee that they'll be provided service later when they actually go to get it - made me waste over 3 hours, I lost the money and got no service.
They asked me to deal with the crook vendor, who firstly was very unprofessional and rude, secondly didn't provide me the service and then unbelievably marked my groupon as redeemed. Groupon doesn't have a mechanism to filter vendors which definitely is a cause for concern because you don't know until the last minute where you're headed. In my case I found Groupon's customer service team non protective of customer (my) rights and instead of dealing with the vendor directly asked me to deal with them directly. I simply trusted their listing and went ahead with the purchase, but I think that was a mistake.

I purchased a Groupon for Vera Wang perfume for my mom for Mother's Day. When I didn't receive it, I checked the order status and it said "Delivered". I contacted Groupon and informed them that I did not receive the perfume I had purchased. They replied with an e-mail stating that I should check our apartment's community mailbox and I informed them that we do not have one in our building. They replied that, as a "courtesy" to me, they would issue a one time credit to my account but that they would not be able to do anything for me in the future if this happened and that I should provide a better address for them to send my packages to. I found this quite bewildering because I rechecked my receipt and I had indeed put my HOME ADDRESS on the order. In any case, I just chalked this experience up to being helped by a snarky rep in a bad mood. I then went back to the product to repurchase the perfume.
When I had originally purchased the perfume, Groupon was running a 10% off sale but by the time I went back to repurchase it, the sale was no longer on so the site was requesting that I pay an additional $3.67. I didn't feel that I should have to pay this as I had not made any mistake with my purchase. I contacted Groupon again and asked them to issue me a one time 10% off coupon code so I would be able to repurchase the perfume. They replied saying that they were unable to do this and that I would have to wait until another sale came along. With this reply, I decided that I definitely would wait for another sale and never give this company another dime. I was mostly upset because this was a gift for my mom, which I had told them.
Four months later, Groupon ran another 10% off sale and I repurchased the perfume for no additional fees. I guess what I found amazingly terrible about this situation is that I had purchased 21 Groupons prior to this one yet they were unwilling to give me $3.67 to remain a loyal customer. I generally don't write reviews about bad experiences but I'm sick of seeing large businesses treat their customers like they're criminals. I will never purchase another Groupon again and would strongly advise other people to not do business with them either unless you're into being abused, accused and condescended to.

As directed I went to the site and canceled the 4 days $350.00 hotel reservation as instructed by pressing the cancel button adjacent to the order and awaited my refund as informed per the system.
In June, after checking my credit card bill I realized that I had never received my refund. I called Groupon and was informed that the reservation was never canceled. How could this be. I know I followed the process as directed. The first representative was very nice but the 2nd representative was hostile, nasty and very unprofessional. Normally I never purchase big ticket items from companies online simply because of the many negative possibilities they could occur but unfortunately I did this time and it was a financial mistake.
Groupon refused to refund anything. I've written a letter to Corporate and am now awaiting a response. This is very upsetting to me. I couldn't be the only person that this has happened to and there must be something wrong with their website. I am a merchant that at this time has to use Groupon to fill a few seats during our busy season. I am not reviewing Groupon but reviewing its sense of entitled customers. Groupon's customers are by far the worst customers that walk through our doors. Like mentioned they have this sense of entitlement because they have this voucher from a third party group and don't understand we just use them for advertisement and not affiliated in any other way. They demand more, call more, want more discounts, and think they are owed more even though they rarely look at our website and know what we offer. They refuse to read our clearly stated terms/fine print on our deal and it is somehow our fault when they don't get their way?
Groupon customers also think our policies (cancellation policies) don't apply to them because they have this magical voucher. News flash: You are the lowest of our priorities. Last off, as I could go on all day! We are a gratuity-based business. These impulse buyers are the worst non-tipping people we have ever seen. The next day I tried to check the status and they told me my account was deactivated. After a month of trying to find out why, I received this email: "Hello, for the safety and security of Groupon, we often review accounts for potential risks. Upon reviewing your account, we encountered a violation of our Terms of Service and closed the account. This decision cannot be appealed. Please discontinue use of our website and our services immediately and note that we are preserving all rights to pursue further action -- should it be necessary -- to preserve the integrity of our program and the best interests of our company."
So because they threatened me with action, I contacted their support department. The first supervisor I talked to said that my shipping and billing address didn't match. This is apparently justification for them to cancel my order, delete my account, and then THREATEN me with "Further action." The supervisor eventually hung up on me while I was reading him this email. When I got through to them again, I asked for a supervisor again, and the second supervisor told me she wouldn't be allowed to tell me why it was deactivated.
Already having the reason from the first supervisor, I have learned that Groupon handles a simple billing hiccup that any other company would resolve by notifying me of the issue so I could correct it by instead going NUCLEAR and sending threats. This was my first time using Groupon, and wow, what an awful experience. Screw them. I strongly discourage anyone else from giving them a single cent, as well. I ordered a set of 12 -2" Clarissa Hair Rollers. Upon receiving (shipping took much longer than expected) I discovered Groupon had shipped the incorrect product, I received 6 -3/4" hair rollers and 6- 1" hair rollers. I called Groupon Customer Service and was told a return shipping label had been sent to my email and I should drop the package at the nearest post office. I could expect a refund in approximately 2-3 weeks after Groupon had received the package. I was put out that the Groupon Customer Service Representative never offered to exchange the incorrect product for the product I actually purchased but due to the extended shipping time I was not sure that was an option.
After thinking about the return I called Groupon Customer Service back due to the nearest post office being a minimum round trip 45 minute drive from my home and asked for a FedEx ground label as the package had shipped FedEx ground and there was a FedEx drop close to my home. I was told that was not possible. And when I asked why as the error was due to Groupon shipping the incorrect item the Representative cited Groupon policy. I asked why they were not correcting their mistake and sending the correct item and again he cited Groupon policy, further stated I could purchase item again if I really wanted it. Seriously, what made him think I didn't want it the first time I bought it? This was my first and last Groupon purchase. I was shocked when the Customer Service Representative did not offer to correct Groupon's mistake and horrified to learn this was actually their company policy?
Due to their mistake I am now out almost hour of driving time and gas not to mention the time I have already spent and will spend dealing with Groupon Customer service and ensuring they issue a refund. Unbelievable! When I began to finalize this complaint I logged into my Groupon account to obtain my order number as I did not receive a confirmation email regarding my purchase. To my surprise the order was not associated with an order number. In fact there were no order details associated with the order in my Groupon. So, even if I wanted to I could not have completed a return online. I attempted an online chat but there were "no agents available" so, again I called Groupon Customer Service. I called a total of 6 times and was unable to reach a representative. Each time I called the phone would ring until it disconnected.
I sent an email to customer support and a message on Facebook. I still have not received an answer to my email but I did receive a Facebook message instructing me to send an email to customer support. After sending 4 messages via Facebook I able to obtain my order number. I have little hope of receiving a refund. When you sign up to buy the thing online it does not provide you any of the "FINE PRINT" from the company providing the service, Like the asinine liability fees and suggested extra tipping fees suggested by the provider, additionally the numerous liability waivers you must agree to or be charged exorbitant charges in the several thousand dollar range just to drive a high performance vehicle. Cancellation fee insurance, and on and on and on.
This whole thing is nothing but a HUGE SCAM and what's more it being propagated by GROUPON Themselves, and of course you cannot get a refund after you purchase because the company providing the service states that has to come from Groupon and Groupon refuses. I will never use GROUPON AGAIN.

I made a few purchases during May 2016 and had to return most of them each for various reasons. Poor quality of products/or wrong items sent: quality of sunglasses I ordered were disgusting, with some golden colors on the frame was coming off. I ordered a sunglass which they never shipped- checking with them after 3 weeks, I was told maybe some inventory issue, etc. but it was never communicated to me neither was reflecting on the website. I ordered a dress, on opening the package I figured they sent me a complete different dress. Had to reach out to customer service again!! Denim Bermuda was ordered in size 9, sent a wrong size, so again reaching the customer service for return. That was about the quality and product service, let's get to another disgusting experience because of not maintaining their records correctly.
Losing data from site/ not reflecting correct status: on initiating return on a product, the website pops a message "it's your lucky day! Keep the product with you and we will refund your money". Well that was first time I encountered this and I was kind of happy - not because I could use the product but thought at least can gift it to somebody. Then almost 2 weeks passed by I realized I never got the refund so had to live chat with one of their customer support executives. Well, here is the interesting part she told they don't have any record of that communication against that product so I need to return it. Now, is it a trap or ways to make money because in many cases people may not have all the tags intact therefore the item may not be in a returnable condition. I was pissed to the core and sent them the item immediately.
I had to continuously check with customer care on weekly basis to make sure that I get the refund! In fact after couple of weeks had to remind them again to issue the refund. There were many instances when I took print out of the return labels and sent the items but later checking the website I couldn't track return status. There were no traces of it that I initiated a return on the product already...! Also, getting refund is a headache. It's our money that we want back but at every stage because of poor maintenance of data they expect we keep records of everything! Inefficient tracking on return shipment, site never shows correct status: none of their communication emails actually refers or provide any info regarding which product the email was sent. Recently spent some 400 bucks and now I literally had to spend hours to map their emails to items. The whole experience is not user friendly at all...
I sent the product back through USPS using their own return label and everything. I was under the impression since it was scanned in front of me now it's Groupon's responsibility to get me the refund. They will have to take some amount of responsibility in case the product doesn't ship to their warehouses or lost in transit, etc. Well, coming back to my story, it was my mistake for not keeping the tracking number shared by USPS. I was new to this system and I happened to misplace the tracking number. I had no clue I will end up in a situation like this for doing so.
After 3 weeks from sending the package when I checked online one of the product status showed "return label printed" (no tracking of where the product went after scanning at USPS). One showed "return closed" not completed unlike other usual returned items and also no reverse transaction on order details section, meaning no refund issued and other item had no tracking of generating the return slip!!! I was blown away when I saw this on website and checking with customer care they told they have no record of any of these products returned to their office!!! And asking for proofs that I sent the items. Well somehow I scanned through all my emails and found out auto generated emails sent by Groupon when each of them items got scanned. Well, is it something we need to keep a track of and they can get away with all their technical glitches all the time!!!
I have over $50 pending with them now even after following all the instruction and now don't know how many surprises are still on my way...:( If anybody had patience reading the whole email I would suggest not to fall for their deals, the product qualities are terrible, on top of you need to keep some serious amount of time in hand to reach out to representatives. Discounts/ deals aren't competitive. Also, the deals aren't competitive at all, products that are on deal you will get the same deal for those retailers across the web, some with better services. I have seen some MFK handbags on Groupon and same handbags were listed at same/ lesser price in other sites. So, please don't get into the trouble of continuously chasing down the customer care executives to get your own money back.

Contacted customer service and said just wait for the confirmation email and that my payment is being processed. When I tried to log into my acct about 8 hrs later, it won't let me, which was weird because I was able to access my acct 8 hrs prior. I even sent a 'forgot password' request and the reply that came back said I do not have a Groupon acct!!
Called customer service again and after being placed on hold for a looong time, told me that my acct got deactivated and my order got canceled. I asked why and how come I was not informed of them deactivating my acct and canceling my order, the agent just put me on hold again and came back saying she is gonna have to "escalate this matter to upper management" and she sounded like she was trying hard not to laugh. She even asked me to verify the info on my credit card to see if it matched the info that I put when I placed the order and it did and I know for a fact that I have funds in there to cover it.
So after wasting my time listening to the Groupon agent go on and on about having to escalate this matter to upper mgt so they can reactivate my acct for future use, which is useless because the deal that I want is now GONE, I checked with my credit card company to see if Groupon run the amt on my card and the rep told me they did but for $0 which does not make sense!!! I don't usually leave review comments online but I strongly felt that I need to share my horrible experience with Groupon service. I purchased a hotel deal Groupon yesterday ($1500 deal) using my Visa. But after 20 minutes, I decided to use my Mastercard instead so cancelled the original deal and purchased another one. Today, I checked my credit statement and the cancelled deal was refunded but missing 85 dollars! I thought it was a mistake and called Groupon to figure out. After experiencing two hung up calls by call center for some reason and wasting almost 1 hour, I was finally able to talk to a Supervisor.
Apparently from Groupon's perspective, they refunded the whole amount in USD and whatever amount is missing is due to exchange difference because I paid in CAD. I was shocked to hear this because when you purchase the hotel deal in Groupon, they say it very proudly that they will return the full amount as long as it is cancelled before the deadline (approx 10 days). Nowhere it says the transaction fees or currency difference is not going to get refunded to the customer. I further looked into the Term of Sale, Return policy and FAQ and the only thing I found was just a simple statement saying that deals will be charged in USD.
Only if Groupon made a simple disclosure about the fact that customers won't be refunded for the currency difference in the case of cancellation, I wouldn't have cancelled my original transaction and get charged for $85 for no reason. After 1.5 hours wasted on the phone with Groupon's call center, I got $20 of Groupon credits to be used within next 6 months. Apparently, it is impossible for Groupon to fully compensate other than just giving $20 credit. As this is my only third time using Groupon deals, I wonder how usefully I can use that $20 credit. The experience with Groupon has just ruined my day and vacation now.

When I paid for the Groupon, it came out of my account twice so I rang them to say it charged me twice. They refunded me the second charge. Very excited we arrived and handed over our Groupon coupon. It was rejected. There were lots of people around and we were getting funny looks. I gave them both Groupon coupons, knowing that one wouldn't work. But both of them were declined. The money had been taken out of my account. I waited outside the restaurant and rang Groupon immediately saying what happened. The lady said they will log the call and get back to me within 24-48 hours.
So what about the fact we were dressed, and all ready to go? She said there was nothing she could do. I went back to the restaurant, even showed my payment from Groupon. Luckily with this proof the restaurant charged me the same amount. I spoke with Groupon stating of course this was the only option and I will just get a refund as they were unable to activate my coupon. That was 2 weeks ago. They emailed me to get a copy of their coupons, which I sent. I also sent them proof of payment... and they are still emailing stating: "I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience. I will re-escalate this matter on to the management team to look into. As soon as they have an update I will let you know. On Saturday 21/05/2016 I ordered a set of Tower Cerasure - 3-Piece Frying Pan Set - All three sizes from Groupon. I will say that the delivery was fast and the goods were delivered on Tuesday 24/05/2016 and opened the package to find that they had only delivered 2 of the 3 frying pans. I immediately logged onto their website and logged a dispute to tell them that the delivery was short 1 frying pan as the 2 they had delivered were the same product as in the pictures and requested that they send the missing frying pan (which was the largest and most expensive of the 3).
They did respond very quickly as I had the response on Wednesday 25/05/2016 and they said that they were not able to send me the one frying pan as they do not have the facility to arrange exchanges or replacements (which this is neither, all they have to do is contact the supplier to send the missing one) and I was able to keep the item and they would close the correspondence and guess what - not refund for what I had not received. I responded on Wednesday to their response giving them the option of either replacing the missing frying pan or I return the goods to Groupon at their cost and they refund me the full purchase price including delivery or refund me the difference of £6.00 of the cost of the 2 pan set and the 3 pan set.
Surprise, Surprise they have now ended communication with myself. Due to this I have been in contact with Trading Standards and Citizen Advice Bureau and have confirmed that Groupon is in breach and by Law need to refund me the full cost including all delivery costs as they supplied the wrong product and as such what they supplied is not fit for purpose.
I will be contacting my bank to return the full purchase price and Groupon must arrange to pick up the frying pans and I will also be looking at issuing summons through the small claims court for all costs that I have now incurred including the time take off work and this has come to more that 10 times the purchase price of the goods. This is really the worst customer service that I have come across to date. To their loss, I am moving into my own house soon, and have take my business to Wowcher and in one night have spent more than £500.00. Upon arriving home, we checked and sure enough we had been charged for both rooms. Several calls have been placed to both Sheraton and Groupon. They are both giving us the runaround with both parties saying the other is responsible. Sheraton knew that Groupon would not be cooperating. They could have offered us the vouchers that came with the other room like the restaurant vouchers and casino money. But that wasn't offered to us.
We ended up paying for a room that we didn't stay in nor did we get any of the deals offered with that rooms so it was a total waste of money. I've used Groupon a number of times for restaurants and hotels but only recently placed an order for items to be shipped. I previously changed my address on my credit card to my current one but unfortunately that doesn't change your shipping address. After placing an order I looked at my confirmation email and noticed it was going to the wrong address, one I no longer live at, and quickly tried to take action to resolve the issue. When I attempted to do so online as instructed I was unsuccessful by fault of the website itself. So I simply tried to cancel the items and reorder them with the correct address. Also the website did not allow me to cancel the items and was at the mercy of the site (phone customer service was closed 9pm on a Sunday). I also emailed customer service hoping it could be fixed that way, but to no avail - it would force me to call the next morning.
I promptly called the next morning when they begin their workday and was basically told there is nothing that can be done. I can't change anything nor can I cancel anything. I was told to call when items said they were delivered and they would take care of it, but unfortunately for me once again I was told that there is no help. If the item is returned then they would issue a refund but no other way would anything happen. Over three weeks I waited for the items. I worked out a deal with the old landlord that I could pick them up. I thought "OK, this isn't so bad, at least I can get my items I purchased and not just lose them or my money."
Finally today April 29th the final item was delivered. It was a pretty mug with a dragonfly on it. I opened the mailbox to see the item was shipped in a bag. I thought maybe it's wrapped very well. Nope - the item was shattered. So I came home, very angry and called customer service yet again. I spoke with someone I previously spoke to and I told him my issue. They said they would issue me a refund but I was stuck with a broken item. I do not understand how they can't change anything once it gets to the warehouse. The person who works there didn't think to place a GLASS item in a box with protective wrapping, but instead placed it in a bag. A BAG. Why would they think the item wouldn't break??? I don't know if its the amount of times that I called or if there is just incompetence in their shipping warehouse but this is ridiculous. I understand it's a mug, which was a gift... which I no longer will be getting after all of this.
All I can muster after all this is thank you Groupon for the crap customer service you provide. The people who work in the back office either don't care about your customers or they are not given sufficient knowledge on how to help customers. In all honesty, they have offered me a refund if I send the worthless bands back, but it's very frustrating spending time on speaking with customer service, mailing it back, and waiting for the refund, in addition to having to find a replacement gift. What is truly concerning is that they are still selling this item online, yet claim to have no items to send me. So, are they lying to me or are they still sending empty bands to unsuspecting customers. This was my first Groupon purchase, and will be my last.

Bought a deal for frozen yogurt. Went the next day, the business is closed. Right place, right location, etc., etc. Bldg is gutted, phn disc, website defunct. I tell Groupon. They refund me "because I'm within the 3-day grace window" and do nothing else. Um, no. You refund me because the business is a lie and you take the deal down. A WEEK later the deal is still up. I submitted the evidence to Google and Yelp. Both took less than 24 hrs to verify my "claims" and post the business is closed. But a week later Groupon still has the deal live. I've written them three times. They won't take it down. Now that is STEALING. That is CRIMINAL. I will never buy from them again.

I placed two orders with Groupon back on the 13th of April. On the 22nd, I still had not received them, so I tried to log into my account to find any details. Well I couldn't log into my account. So, I had to Google "Groupon" for a phone number, because it is nowhere to be found on their website. When I spoke with customer support they told me my account had been closed due to suspected fraud. Not once did Groupon try to contact me by phone or email. Such a poor customer service in my opinion. This was just a way of avoiding having to give a discount by coupon code.

I bought tickets through Groupon to take my grandchildren to the Ringling Brothers Circus. They were advertised as being in the 100's section or the first 4 rows of the 200's. The vouchers would not be available for viewing until the day before the performance. When I finally got to see where my seats were, I found that they were in the very last row of the 200's section. The 19th row!!! It was much too late to ask for a refund especially after promising 4 young children a trip to the circus. BEWARE, THEY LIE!!! When I went to view the promotion after I found out where my seats were, I saw that they had changed it. The seats I bought were later advertised in the 200's section but NOT when I bought them.

If you call customer support they can not help you. All I needed to do was change my billing and physical address. Customer support 101 can't be done on phone. God forbid you are not tech-proficient because they talk to you like your stupid. They claim conversation is being recorded which I doubt because I was jerked around on phone for half an hour then transferred to another extension that couldn't pick up because they were closed. When I called back all customer support was ended for that day. If I did that to a customer I would lose my job. I am going on a vacation that has already been paid for. After that I will not ever do business with such an ignorant, arrogant company!! Whatever you're suppose to save not worth classless experience. If you research you can get same or better deal. Most electronic merchandise refurbished with weak warranty. Never trust any company with extremely poor customer service.

On April 4, 2016 I purchased One Microsoft Office certification bundle. I attempted to redeem the coupon with Simplilearn. This was the response for Simplilearn website: Coupon is either invalid or not found. Since that date Groupon refuses to acknowledge the validity of their coupon and insist that I force Simplilearn accept their coupon. I am very frustrated at this point and seeking a refund of my $29.00.
