I booked a river cruise and did not receive an email notice. So I booked the cruise with the cruise company (it cost 6 cents more!); I then found out that Groupon sent the notice to my unused email account. I tried to call... No NUMBER! So I emailed them... Boiler plate response "we can't cancel this charge". Had to go to my credit card company to dispute. I'll never use Groupon again.

My wife and I bought a ride on car for my 3 yo son in July on Groupon at almost $400. Upon delivery, I contacted their customer service right away to advise that the toy was not 100% functional (there are 2 speed levels and one was working on and off). Today is October 24th. Between July and October, I contacted them several times and got the same answers: either they have a "dedicated Team that will look into that" or "is my problem fixed?". They even asked me for a pictures of the item they sold... To me when I look at the situation, I clearly understand that Groupon does not want to solve our issue, they simply want us to give up on asking them to fix a technical issue with the item they sold to us.

Purchased a Groupon for entrance into a corn maze. Groupon policy is you always get the purchase price unless stated in deal. Was informed by the company the deal was only good for entrance during a small window of time on weekends. Even though the price and events are the same every day. Asked if I could use the purchase price toward full price tickets that day, was told Groupon wouldn't allow it. I could pay full price and get refund from Groupon. Contacted Groupon and was told this was a live event so they did not have to honor the purchase price and no refunds. Told them I would contact my credit card. Suddenly they have a trade in program, told them it would not be needed as my credit card had refunded the money.

I've been using Groupon for several years and with every year their customer service gets worse and worse. They no longer have operators answering phones. Your only options are life chats with the rudest, nameless, faceless robots or via email. If you contact them via chat, be prepared for the 3rd world service. If you contact them via email, you will get nothing but auto response. Your problems with Groupon will never be resolved and you will never see your money. Because of family problems, we did not realize that 1 of our Groupons expired. We contacted Groupon via chat and had the most awful, uncaring agent who absolutely refused to even consider helping us. We know that last year other family members were helped by Groupon customer service and their expired Groupons were applied towards new purchases. Apparently, Groupon policies have changed.

Now, they tell you that you can still redeem your Groupon. Sure you can - to the tune of paying the difference between the current price and the value of your Groupon. Meaning that Groupon had your money all this time, and now you will end up paying full price. Something you could have done all along, without giving your money to the thieves of Groupon. Shame on you Groupon! Will never buy from you again.

I purchased this product Dell Latitude ES5410 on 9/23 it arrived 10+ days later. Each day from purchase counts toward your returns time window. I tried to contact Groupon on day 1 to return because although they charged me $149.99 plus shipping & handling. They delivered the cheaper advertised ES5400 $119.99. I cannot get through to their company for a refund or to even talk to an agent. Each attempt is met with a message of "oops their circuits are busy". It is classic bait and switch. I will never buy Groupon ever again. I encourage others never to buy from them either. Highly recommend NOT getting involved with Groupon. Customer service reps varied the information and instructions over 2 years of dealing with voucher redemption. Customer service did not support the business cancellation policy although they even put it in fine print. Groupon customer service would give refunds to customer for ANY reason at ANY time even if they had violated fine print or had an excellent service but complained with incorrect information that was proven to be incorrect. When they bought out LivingSocial, they pulled mobile apps for redemption without any notice, then pulled pc login redemption without notice, then had no customer service reps readily available to call. And no link for Groupon site redemption. Worst customer service that I have dealt with in 24 years of business. Regret ever using them.

I will never use Groupon again. Be very careful of the "fine" print that is worded very poorly as to deceive its customers. They make it impossible to refund your money (even if the vendor agrees to do so). The vendors on this site tend to be low budget as the quality of the service is typically what you pay for. There is no real discount with this site- just low budget service at a low budget price. Be warned in investing any money here. I know I will never purchase anything from Groupon again.

I contacted the News and spoke to a supervisor (Veronica) that stated Groupon authorized the charges, not the newspaper. She stated the order was done through them, and they had the card info. etc.

To resolve the issue I needed to contact them. I asked for a verification of that in writing, so that when I contacted Groupon I would have her statement. Of course, her answer was, no, nothing in writing. I am trying to contact Groupon for an explanation, but no phone # to call, Chat ended the conversation because my explanation was taking too long, waiting for response from email now. But not expecting much, other than it was "the newspaper charging your card without authorization" not us. If the outcome is different will update. For example, I purchased a Groupon for their services in the amount of $41.00. I believe that it was the manager that took care of both myself and my co-worker. He informed us that there was a tax of $9.00. When I informed him that $9.00 should not be taxed, he responded that he was charging us taxes on the original amount of their services. In other words he was charging us taxes on the original prices. In addition, he insisted that we pay a $15.00 gratuity fee. This facility should not be in operation if they are going to scam people. My daughter was turning 9 and we invited multiple families to join us at Wisconsin Dells Kalahari Resorts. We all used the Groupon app to purchase the room on the same night. Multiple of the families arrived at Kalahari Resorts Wisconsin Dells only to find out that their room had somehow been booked in Ohio. When you clicked on the Groupon it only showed a page that said this page is no longer available... Printing the details or the confirmation was not an option. The hotels were willing to switch the rooms however since group Groupons customer service is unable to contact the reservation area except by email and it was a Friday night we got no response and no help from their customer service.

Being an avid user of Groupon for at least 5 plus years I'm utterly disappointed with the lack of care for the customer and the quality of the site. There was obviously a site error. We all had to purchase new rooms at full price. We are currently disputing and requesting a refund and getting very little response from Groupon. Stating that since the date has passed they can't do anything about it. So not only did I have to pay double for the one night stay at Kalahari Resorts but I also have to pay for a night in Ohio Resort that we did not go to. One night will have now cost me $545.00. on top of the fact that Friday night was basically ruined due to the fact that we had to have 9 kids sit in the hotel lobby and not able to attend the water park or any of the amenities the hotel due to waiting on a response from Groupon 4 hours until we had finally bit the bullet and just paid the double amount.

Well, with kids and an extremely busy schedule, I finally had time to contact Groupon for my refund; 4 days after purchase. I could not find a phone number to call anywhere, so I did the live chat. I was told I could not get a refund due to the fact that they have a 3-day refund policy. I argued a little and advised them again that I don't even live in the state these are issued to. Not even close.

After still being refused a refund, I asked if they could exchange them for my local Sky Zone. Again was refused. I then asked for a phone number to call so I could speak with a manager, and was told "Sorry, there is nothing more I can do for you." Very poor business ethics! I will never use Groupon again because of this. The least they could have done was an exchange or even a Groupon credit to my Groupon account. I literally threw away $78.00. Take junk that someone returned and put it in a box and ship it out? Getting the defective unit was bad; inexcusable. What was worse however was the fact that the company doesn't even have a working phone or email to contact to complain.

I got a return label for my product, but their customer complaints are so vast, I don't believe they will actually ever credit me the near $700 I paid for this. Groupon by far is the WORST Online Marketplace I have ever done business with. People complain about eBay? Nah this takes the ball by a mile. Every single Ticket Opened by a customer has to be discussed within Groupon which it is understandable but how they expect a Ticket to be properly resolved or addressed when the customer CANNOT attach pictures of the issues they seem to be having with their products. So Groupon just believes 100% what the customer says and refunds the customer and a Big ** You to the seller.

How is it possible that they have not created a way which customers can discuss and send pictures to us so we can validate the return with a refund? So I had customers say "Item arrived Broken", "Item does not work", "Item not as advertised", and Groupon automatically refunds them without any proper proof. But I see Groupon does this kind of scamming business only with us sellers because they seem to be losing a lot of their customers. (Not because of Third-Party Sellers) but because of their fraudulent practices.

Now they also take 15% out of Postage? How is that in any way reasonable or understandable. So you are taking 15% of PROFIT from SHIPPING which the seller obviously does NOT profit from. Also, every time you try calling them or open a Ticket with them, their Support Agents take FOREVER to answer and if they do, they seem not to have the mental capacity or logic to understand an issue.

Especially an Agent called Nina, what a waste of air. She is rude, unlogical and have suspended countless of accounts only because her opinion is the right one. I have over 10+ colleagues who have had their accounts suspended by her over simple things where Amazon or eBay wouldn't have mind. I doubt there is any thought or consideration put on her wild decisions.

She should have a manager approve her every move. If she keeps going like this, Groupon may even run out of third party sellers. She capitalizes everything, immediately suspends accounts at once (normally because of one disagreement) and wants to teach and talk about customer service when she is the worst at service towards a Groupon Seller. They are all a Joke, I'm definitely sticking with Amazon, at least Agents there talk to sellers and buyers with respect, courtesy and professionalism.

Eventually, I received an email from Groupon stating that the merchant was fraudulent and my money would be refunded. One order was, but I am having trouble getting the 2nd one refunded. All I get are apologies via chat from reps who are clueless. I even try to escalate to a supervisor. I am getting nowhere. I have spent hours on chat. I am very frustrated. Something recently changed about their customer service. There was a time where you could speak to someone over the phone - now they have outsourced to people who do not understand, nor care about giving the best service (by actually resolving the issue that they most likely caused). I'm going to try and give details just in case anyone else has this problem.

I gifted a friend a Paint Nite Groupon for her birthday. She received an email and then the voucher showed up in "her groupons" and then disappeared - she no longer had access to the voucher. I emailed Groupon and they resent it to her. Not only did they resend her a PN Groupon that I previously used myself, it disappeared so that she wouldn't have access to it - popped back up in "my Groupon" as if I have an unused Groupon available. When I tried purchasing my own PN Groupon, it stated that I reached the maximum limit (I didn't know I had possession of the gifted/used Groupon at the time". After 100 emails back and forth, blaming the merchant for their restrictions - they did not own up to the mistake they made. Also claiming that I reached a lifetime maximum with Paint Nite and will NEVER be able to purchase through them again. It felt as if I were speaking with robots.

I wanted to get a refund for the Groupon that I gifted, but because I never viewed it and neither did my friend, we could not get the redemption code that Groupon asked for. As if the purchase date/credit card/email/etc wasn't enough for Groupon to look at their own records to find the unused voucher that I gifted my friend. Anyways - somehow the correct voucher popped up in my Groupon, I was able to get refunded and used my Groupon. Paint Nite didn't have these crazy restrictions - it was that Groupon that wouldn't own up to the mistake they made. I swear they are robots - talking about "Sorry for your trouble/ We understand/ We apologize for the inconvenience" all the while not understanding the error, nor actually fixing the problem. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE.

Just lost $40 due to a Groupon sporting event ticket scam, here's how it works: 1) You order a voucher for tickets to an event (sports, music, etc). 2) Only after you pay, do you get a voucher which states that a 3rd party is responsible for sending (by mail or email most often) the actual tickets to the event. Emailed tickets can arrive as late as 24 hours before the actual event. 3) Your tickets never arrive. 4) You get on Groupon's website and navigate to the "call me" option and talk to their customer support reps. They say a 3rd party is responsible for the tickets and then forward your call to a group that can contact the vendor on your behalf. You get a voice-response system that tells you the number you're trying to reach is disconnected (nice!)

You try step 4 again and the Groupon rep states that they cannot issue you a refund because it's been over 24 hours since you ordered your initial tickets. Sorry sucker. At this point you can either ask for a refund (which gets escalated to a rep who's supposed to email you within 3 days - good luck with this option) or you just contact American Express and dispute the charge (you *DID* order your Groupon with American Express, didn't you?! Pray to the gods that you did, otherwise you're screwed).

I was browsing Groupon getaways and had set my phone down to check on my grand baby. When I picked my phone back up it said "you booked it". My 5-year-old grandson had apparently picked up my phone and hit some buttons which accidentally booked a getaway. I had no idea what was booked, the terms, where I was going or how much it was. I went backward on my phone and saw that I was booked at the Marriott Hotel in Palm Springs, but later research indicated that I was booked at a "resort in Anaheim". I would never stay in Anaheim. I checked my checking account and sure enough $397.00 had been debited immediately from my credit card. I learned I was going to the Wyndham Resort in Anaheim Ca... 32 miles away from where I live. I did not authorize this trip and did not want this trip.

Groupon's standard cancellation fees it states is "within 24 hours". Wyndham Resort states you can cancel "if before 4 days of arrival date". I tried canceling and called both businesses within 5 minutes of the error, over and over the next 24 hours. I was told I could not cancel that. If I had of read the fine print I would see that there was "No refunds on This package". One blamed the other and the other blamed Groupon. Had I personally booked and authorized this purchase I would have seen and read the fine print but I didn't book it let alone know what "I" booked or what the fine print was! I spoke to numerous people at Groupon and the Wyndham who both continued to pass the buck. No one would refund my money even after I told them I was on disability and a fixed income and could simply not afford this. Not one person would help me.

I decided to go to the resort since I would have lost my money altogether. Groupon had advertised the rates as "50% off for this package" for that week. I paid $397.00 to Groupon for a 3-night stay. When I got to the resort Wyndham was only charging guests $89.00 per night. My "getaway package" was suppose to be the cheap package deal. At checkout I was charged an additional $23.00 per day plus tax for "resort fees". I have heard of resort fees but normally it is an actual Resort you're staying at. These fees per the Wyndham Resort was for "parking, wifi, pool use and use of phone or room service if requested! I fought and fought to get this canceled and refunded or even Transferred etc. No one from Groupon or Wyndham would help me despite my emails and numerous phone calls.

Groupon outsources their Customer Service and the eight people I spoke to barely spoke English. I canceled my credit card (which Groupon had apparently kept on file from a purchase I had made several months ago). I canceled Groupon. I will be reporting both to the BBB and I will NEVER USE GROUPON AGAIN! They are corrupt and have ads that are nothing less than a scam. The Wyndham was a dump with a dirty pool, poor room service, 2 out of 3 advertised restaurants were closed and to get the shuttle back to the hotel, you had to walk a half mile! They had 4 handicap spaces in front of the entrance of which I was informed were "valet parking at $16.00 per day". For a room available for $89.00 per day, no "resort fees", (only a deposit for incidentals), I paid $532.00 for 3 nights. I am looking to sue... Beware people!!! I should have been able to cancel this to begin with.

Item (Anastasia modern renaissance palette) that they had on site was not item that seller was selling. They use a picture of an authentic makeup palette and are really selling a fake merchandise. I contacted Groupon and the 3rd party seller and they kept blaming each other. In the end I got no refund and a forged item. I had been a Groupon customer for years and will no longer purchase items like this from them. Don't trust the company and its bait and switch tactics.

It's hard to tell how they get away with doing any of this legally but Groupon sold me a $62 gym membership from a gym that would not honor the voucher and a $20 Groupon for a closed Hamburger Joint. No refunds on either one! They also sold a spray tan membership only to email me and tell me the business was closed but "not to worry" because I could just drive a couple towns over and try that one! They seem to cater to businesses near the end of their lifecycle so odds are VERY high that by the time you try to use their... "deal" it can't be used for anything, and they won't Refund your money. They claim to offer trade-ins but they usually don't work. My last trade in... offered me $0. I have the images (and mental scars) to prove it.

Dealing with them is not unlike talking to a computer screen or a passing puff of air - the call-in support line is PERMANENTLY DOWN - at 877-788-7858 there is just a recording saying they no longer take calls... (Does that seem like a good sign? A "legit" business that doesn't take customer calls?). There is a Live chat but it is similar to a bot - it simply repeats to read the fine print of the "Groupon" and declines a Refund.

Please save yourself the headache... please... do you really think 18 shirts should cost $7? Or that $5 is gonna get you a $30 meal? If so I have some sand I'd like to sell ya; come on by for an estimation. Personally I would rather throw money out a car window - it would save a lot of time and Agony. I sometimes wonder if Tylenol didn't invent this company just to promote the use of its flagship medication.

No tracks or screens were included. Tracks for an additional $4 and screens for $2. I called Groupon customer service and they told me that I have 3 days to cancel. I did not know about the extra charges, how can I call and complain? I called the owner "Alan's Cleaning Service" to complain, the guy was not helpful, I asked for a better price and he said he will do it ONLY for an additional $61 all screens, NO TRACKS. (I did this in order to save the $ paid for the coupon.) They came, I paid $6, they broke two screens, destroyed some of my plants, a real mess. Contacted the owner and he said "I'm sorry but we are not responsible for old screens." Not a happy customer!!!

I place an order through the Groupon app on Aug. 5th 2017 for a dress. I was advised the dress would arrive within 5-10 business days. I was provided a tracking number for the USPS. Each time I attempted to track the package, I was advised the tracking number provided was invalid. I reached out to Groupon for help and was told to reach out to the seller instead. I contacted the seller and never heard back from them. Groupon customer service is lacking compassion for their consumers as I kept receiving generic emails from them advising me to contract the seller which I had already done and the issue was never resolved. They took my money and I never received the dress I ordered.

I purchased a Groupon for a couple's massage in December of last year. It is now August and I have still been unable to redeem my Groupon. It took months for the business offering the massage to have an opening. After months of waiting, we were finally getting our massage today. Less than 3 hours before the massage the business called to cancel our massage. Supposedly our massage therapist quit just that morning. The receptionist also claimed that the business currently has no manager. The soonest we could be rescheduled is for over a month from now.

I contacted Groupon's customer service, which can only be reached through live chat or email. They were not at all helpful in getting things resolved with the business or helping to get a refund. They claimed there was nothing they could do other than offer an apology that I was not having success using the groupon. Based on this experience and trouble with other groupons with no helping in resolving them, I will not be purchasing groupons anymore. I wouldn't recommend anyone purchase through them. I was finally successful in canceling a Groupon for a massage that I booked yesterday. The merchant wouldn't take the Groupon, it was local, and I tried to cancel within one day, per Groupon policy. After googling canceling Groupon, I was really disappointed, average time to do it 37 minutes? "We will offer to do it for you for a fee because it's too complicated to do for yourself, but if you want to go in that direction here are the directions."

900+ negative reviews of Groupon. So I tried to be brave and embarked upon a chat session. I was steered away from canceling the Groupon, that their only option was to give me Groupon dollars that I had to deal within 48 hours. I explained what I'd seen on the Internet and after a lot of gibberish and going round and round with the overseas customer disservice representative, finally he canceled it out. Why the hell does Groupon not allow you to do it on their website as they say they will in their instructions for canceling?

Why the hell did I have to spend 30 minutes within idiot way out of the country who is reading from script cards most likely. What the hell kind of business model does Groupon have. How do they stay in business? I guess some people are saving money, and screw the rest of us. God help us if we want help. What kind of people run this operation? Are they criminals or just stupid?

Groupon sold tickets to an event at a comedy venue stating that the vouchers ($15 for two people) were good for any show up until January of 2018. I purchased them and noticed in the fine print it mentioned that it was not redeemable for all shows. I contacted the venue via the email Groupon had on its sale listing, and did not hear back from the venue for three days. I called during this time period as well. I didn't understand this as the instructions included in the Groupon were to email/call the venue (with the email/number they provided) to request your show.

I went to the venue’s website and found a similar email address to which I sent that email to as well and fortunately, I got a response from that email within a few hours. I was told the vouchers did not apply to the show I requested and was given a list of shows. I am not from Philadelphia (where the venue is) and was going there a weekend in November as a birthday surprise. I would not be able to attend any other show at any other time with these tickets. When I spoke to a customer support representative, he even stated that the vouchers WERE ACCEPTED for the show I requested (I have a copy of the chat), so that even adds to the confusion. When asking the venue (again) the venue said that the Groupon was not available for the show I wanted to attend. This further validates that the TWO businesses, Groupon and the venue, had miscommunication when creating this Groupon.

Needless to say, I have asked for a refund but was told in the fine print all sales are final. When I asked for some type of credit as I have no use for these vouchers, I was told credit cannot even be applied. I contacted the venue to ask if there was anything that can be done about these (I had to buy the tickets full price eventually, as this was a birthday present which is the reason for traveling to Philadelphia) and received no response.

It is unethical that the email address that was included on Groupon for this venue did not work properly and I did not receive a response in time. It is unethical that if there was miscommunication between two businesses, the customer has to suffer/pay for it. It is also HIGHLY unethical that if there is absolutely NO USE for these vouchers, that a customer cannot receive, at the very least, credit from ONE of the businesses. It is only $15. To a business that is nothing, to a customer who has been faithfully purchasing from Groupon for years, it is money. Hard earned money that should be refunded or credited for merchants’ mistake and confusion. In any case, "All sales are final" does not mean I have to accept a "broken item". This item, unfortunately, "is broken" and I would like my refund/credit.

I ordered a microwave popcorn popper. A week or so later I received a box. It was a hard plastic children's bank that looks like a soccer ball. I called and spoke to customer service and he put me on hold to "See what he could do." He came back and said they couldn't replace it, but they would give me $5.00 in Groupon bucks and I could keep the item? I told him, I don't want a plastic bank or $5.00. I want my money returned. He said "Well then you'll have to return it." That was 3 weeks ago. I sent the item back and now have an open case with PayPal to have the charge removed.

Today I went online and tracked the item and they received it but not responding to PayPal. Since you can't get PayPal on the phone either, I guess I just wait. The real problem I have: The same day I went on Groupon and they're still selling the popcorn popper. I assumed they had sold out and that's why he said they couldn't replace the item. They don't care because they're just acting as the middle man. They could care less if you get anything. This is a warning to anyone thinking of using this company.

A few of my relatives and their families decided to make reservations for Split Rock Resort using Groupon. They had rooms that included water park passes. Since we have so many children we decided to take advantage of those. We all booked separately for these accommodations. We checked everything and it was all set. I decided to look again the night before we had to go down to Pennsylvania a five hour drive for us. I noticed on the reservations that one part said what we had booked with the water park passes and then the other part the details inside now said that we had a breakfast package instead. As soon as I realized this I contacted everyone else and they said the same.

I knew I had to go and fix it because all of us were going to be showing up there with this problem and we already had been hit with the fact that we were going to have $100 hold on our credit cards per night that wasn't listed on Groupon. So this definitely had to be taken care of before we left in about 9-10 hours. So I began trying to contact Groupon. This is a very difficult thing to do. I finally figured out how to chat with them. I quickly realized while chatting with each person they would tell me the same thing they would not change anything. They said, "You have booked the breakfast package. You are all set." I would then say I had never booked this and there is a mistake. But they refused to listen, to look at proof, anything. I thought I was talking to a computerized response.

One of my relatives took screenshots, amazingly, from start to finish because she was so wary. The pictures showed the entire thing I was trying to explain. They would not help. We started out with queen bed with pullout sofa and kitchenettes with water park passes to ROH (run of the house) rooms with no kitchenettes and breakfast included. I talked to at least four different people and none of them would help me. I had gotten so upset that they said they would escalate the call to a supervisor who wouldn't contact me for 24 to 48 hours. After 3 hours of this foolishness we were leaving in 7 hours and I hadn't finished even halfway packing. By the time we were leaving at about 5 a.m. that next morning they had not gotten back to us.

We had to wait until 8 a.m. until the resort management was in. We were going to have to drive for 3 hours not knowing what was going to happen. I printed everything that I could before we left not knowing what was going to happen even when we spoke to management. During the trip my sister-in-law, the one with all of the picture proof, was able to get through to management at the hotel and they said that they would fix everything. I was very relieved, all of us were. We were there early enough so were able to switch our rooms to what we booked, which was awesome. Groupon had mentioned a 19% tax and a $20 per night resort fee that we would pay when we got to the resort. However, when we paid I noticed that they they took this right then during checkout with Groupon.

When we got to the hotel they now ask for the $20 per night resort fee. I said no we had already paid in advance for all of that and I showed her a printout. The manager that they did not get any of this money, it still says that we owed it. She waived that also. They said it had been very bad with Groupon purchases. They had spoken to them and realized there was a glitch in Groupon's system. If we hadn't had that fixed it would have cost us over $400 more to pay for water park tickets we were supposed to have included. I had a miserable evening before leaving. I had time I need stolen away by this company that doesn't care to interact after a purchase. Even if they do it's a, "No no no. We won't help you." They truly put a Bad spin on the vacation for me.

The manager was so gracious at the resort. She fixed everything. But it caused undue stress to myself and family members going on a relaxing vacation. People that took only vacation they had in years at this time. Overall, I'll never use Groupon again. I have used Groupon in the past with another family member booking a similar vacation but we had no problems at all. I would never chance that it would go right again after this. Groupon took the experience from being one of joy to one of anxiety and aggravation.

Frankly, read the review and you will see that I am not the only one complaining about this company over the SAME things. I was an idiot and should have read the reviews before to open an account with them to begin with. But I needed some chiropractor and massage therapy after a recent car accident, and they had some very attractive deals listed on their web page & app. So went ahead and paid $39 for a normally priced service at $150. After paying I right away follow the instructions listed on "my order" page and go to book my massage service on the company web site (Royal Touch Massage Therapy). I was also sure to check those fine print section that stated that this service will only be valid with ONE employee called Courtney **. Problem is that when trying to book that service with that employee, the website reported this Courtney ** as being forever unavailable, no matter the date/month I was choosing.

All frustrated about this but still kinda new to Groupon, I then go and contact Groupon support by email explaining the problem, hoping to receive a reply within 24h as stated on their support page. 2 days later the answer finally comes with a generic message stating: "I've reviewed your order and confirmed that this voucher is eligible for Trade In. You can exchange your voucher any time for an equal value of Groupon Bucks. The Groupon Bucks you receive from this Trade In are eligible toward the purchase of any Local deal on Groupon."

This made me immediately worried. Instead of explaining what was wrong with this deal or a way to make it right, now I was being told that not only I will not get what I paid for, but that my money will be converted in some kind of store credits valid toward my next purchase. HELL NO!!! I replied to the support email stating that either they refunded me right away, or I was going to open a money refund case on PayPal, which was the company I originally used to pay for the voucher.

I guess I got more luckier than some people on here, because a day after this email, I received a response from them stating that my money have been fully refunded. I immediately went to check on PayPal (I never trust just email for this), and here it was, a refund from Groupon. I don't want to have to deal with this company ANYMORE now, and even tried to find a way to close/delete my account there, which is not possible according to their FAQs. But like I said, at least I was able to get my money back and learn a good lesson from this too. Sharing my experience on here too now, so other people will be careful when dealing with Groupon if they really want to.

Groupon seems to be more of a scam than anything else. If you accidentally purchase something and contact them in seconds, you will not receive a refund. In my case, the deal was misrepresented in the email I received. When I clicked 'view deal' and made the purchase, it was actually to a water park. I contacted them in seconds, but they would not issue a refund. When customer support escalated to a manager, I was contacted a couple of days later. They told me the merchant had already been paid. I was stuck with something I could not use and lost $30 in the process.

Another incident involved my ordering a shoe rack. Two weeks later, no shoe rack. When I looked at the detailed information, it seemed to be stuck and was not even shipped. I contacted Groupon to cancel it, and magically, it shipped. Apparently, they contacted the merchant even though I clearly stated I no longer wanted the item. They told me I could return it once I received it. My question was why even ship it since I requested that it be cancelled. They care more about the merchants than their customers. Stay away from Groupon is my advice. I am no longer a customer and I now stick with Amazon.

The worst part of all this is that Groupon no longer offers Customer Service that one can figure out to give comments. The Car Wash purchased wanted apps. - phone nor email info did not work. Drove to location and there was no sign of a car wash in the entire block - drove around it 3 times to verify. Also, ordered 12 bottles of Taste of CA wines and in 2 months, nothing has arrived. Both orders were 6.29.17. Groupon does not have the integrity it once had - probably a problem of 'greed' and expanding too quickly without a plan. DO NOT DEAL WITH GROUPON!!! Also am unhappy with your website as I could not figure out how to add receipt and/or images because my copy/paste abilities did not work!

I just started using Groupon a couple months ago. I wasn't a huge fan of using it, but so many people recommended them for good deals. Anyway, with being so busy this summer, I wanted to have a tan and knew they offered Zoom Tan coupons. I went the first time and got an ok deal ($13 off regular price of $30) for a spray tan. The woman at Zoom Tan told me that you can use the coupon twice if purchased. Of course I purchased another coupon from Groupon. I take it to use and the clerk says it's invalid in their system and that I should get refund from Groupon.

I contact Groupon and am advised I'll receive a refund back to my credit card. In "my stuff" folder it showed the coupon drop off and then 3 days later pops back up? I let it go figuring it takes time for a refund to go thru. Today I contact Groupon again since it has now been a week. The agent was extremely rude and not listening to me. She was not willing to explain simple things to me. She told me I accepted a trade-in which I had no idea what the hell that meant. I asked her 4 TIMES to explain what a trade-in was. She then finally told me my money went towards a what I understood "credit" towards my Groupon account. She explained to me it went back to the coupon I can't use!! So thanks a lot Groupon for selling me a coupon I can't use and then funding it back to a coupon I STILL CAN'T USE. Great waste of $17! I will never use them again.

I wrote to Groupon team to refund the voucher as my kids found the place very scary and they simply copy pasted their standard response as a reply to me saying they cannot. I fail to understand why. The merchant says that they are paid for the vouchers redeemed so this means all unused vouchers are adding to Groupon profits. Wow what a convenient way to mint money. Team Groupon, you should be ashamed as you not only are cheating customers you're also stealing.

I placed 1 order, 3 items, 1 confirmation #. Minutes later I realized, my address on file is wrong and color is wrong, so I needed to cancel the order. I was ONLY able to cancel 2 out of 3. Of course, with Groupon, you cannot speak with a human being! Their customer support access is not very user friendly, keeps routing you to FAQ etc. I tried again later and finally after speaking with several reps, got a Supervisor on chat. He said nothing they can do even though the product is in "processing" status. I asked since it has not been shipped, can't it be canceled OR routed to correct address? He said call the courier because it would be too costly for them to stop the order from being sent out.

So I paid for an item that I tried to cancel ASAP. If small percent chance, I can get hold of the courier, once it is shipped out to ask to route to correct address, I have to pay SECOND time to ship it back, because if I lose money it's ok, as long as they do NOT money. Again, this was NO fault of my own!! Their system kept giving me an ERROR, every time I tried to cancel, which I have a copy to show them. The Supervisor did NOT care but to say "I will fwd. your email on to the another department", but no guarantee anything will happen... So I just paid for a product that I WILL not receive OR that I did NOT want!!!

I purchased two delivery meals for 4 person from Groupon. I ordered first meal from Blue Apron website directly and the first meal was delivered as scheduled. Then I was charged to another $67 to my credit card. I thought they messed up some transactions so contacted them to refund. The response was first meal is normally free and will charge for second one before shipment. Groupon deal was treated as free trial and charged $67 for next delivery even though I cancelled the account that was their system to charge. So I paid $49 to Groupon and $67 to Blue Apron for only one delivery. So one meal cost ended up $118 for 4 person meal. They have a great way to promote Blue Apron but actually you ended up paying more than you receive. Please be careful before you make any orders.

The bottom line is that if your gift isn't "returned" within three days, you cannot get a refund or a credits. THREE DAYS! How many gift recipients call you up and say, "Your gift sucks. I'll never use it." No, they let it just sit there and expire not wanting to offend you. I realize I can't get a refund, but why not a credit? I contacted Groupon about a refund or another possible arrangement since a romantic sail isn't something I would want to spend money on unless I could do it with my SO.

Moral of the story, the agents I talked to online and on the phone were the most unhelpful employees I have ever dealt with. They told me I could have only gotten a refund if I requested it within three days of making the purchase, which is idiotic considering the company canceled on me, not the other way around. If you aren't getting the service you purchased, give the people a refund. It doesn't make sense to lose a loyal customer over something so trivial. In June, I purchase a $200 Groupon for a set of riding lessons from “Winter’s Run Farm” on Long Island. THIS WAS A GROUPON FOR A SERVICE, not a product. I called the telephone number listed on the Groupon to redeem the purchased lesson. Each time I called, I got a voicemail with a man screaming “HELLLOOOO.” I left a voicemail each time, but no one called back. I waited several days in between calls. Finally, on my fourth try, someone picked up. The man on the other line said that the number was his personal cell phone number and he had nothing to do with the barn that was offering the riding lessons. He didn’t even live in the same state!

I then looked up the address where the barn Winter’s Run was supposed to be located. Telephone directory assistance had no listing for a Winter’s Run at the address on the Groupon. I did find, using Google, that there was a Meadowbrook Polo Club at that address but with a different telephone number. So I called that number and got a customer service agent who picked up on the first ring. She informed she was with the Meadowbrook Polo Club, not Winter’s Run, and that Winter’s Run did not operate on the property and that Meadowbrook did not honor Winter’s Run’s Groupons.

Upon learning this information, I immediately attempted to contact Groupon to get my Groupon refunded. KEEP IN MIND, I HAD NOT YET REDEEMED IT so Groupon had my money, but had not provided any service to me. Instead of simply refunding my money, which any legitimate business would have done at that point, this is what they have put me through… I first web chatted with Vejevkumar ** on June 23rd. This was immediately upon my confirming that the company for which I purchased a Groupon was no longer in business and after reviewing Groupon’s guidelines where they promise to “have your back” if a company for which you purchase goes out of business. In that online chat, Vejevkumar promised to get back to me within 72 hours to investigate the matter. He never did. There was no response and no refund.

On July 8th, again, I contacted Groupon Customer support. Jhonny ** took the chat. In that chat, Jhonny assured me “I am really sorry it seems that the escalation was failed and that is why you did not receive the answer, I am deeply sorry for the issue, in this case I will send the information not to the previous team the agent tried, I will escalate directly for the refund that you are requesting. This answer will be provided before, usually this team answer really fast 24-48 hours.” He also, kept trying to get me to accept a trade-in, instead of a refund even though I was clear that I was unhappy with Groupon’s service and just wanted my money back.

Sure enough, 48 hours, I still did not have my money back. So now, I tried to get my money back through PayPal, the service I used to pay for my Groupon (I should have known better – the two companies are linked and in bed with one another). The first response I got from Paypal after initiating my chargeback investigation was truly unreal: “Your seller has provided shipment tracking information in response to your claim. We used the shipping company's online tracking service and found that it confirms delivery of the merchandise. As a result, this case has been closed. We're happy we were able to help you resolve this issue.”

Of course, this was complete BS because the product purchased was a SERVICE, not a physical good, so nothing could have been SHIPPED and therefore there was no TRACKING service. If Groupon had truly been communicating with PayPal, then one of them was providing fraudulent information. So naturally, I appealed the decision. Again, a decision came back from PayPal in Groupon’s favor (even though I had yet to get any service from Groupon and Groupon had yet to prove that the service purchased, lessons from Winter’s Run stables, could be provided). This time the response was simply: “The seller has provided valid information on the above case. As a result, your appeal can not be granted at this time. We encourage you to contact your seller for a resolution. We value your business and regret that you have had this experience. Thank you for your cooperation.”

There was no mention of what the “valid information” was (I had submitted documentation showing that there was a different business at the address and transcripts of my previous conversations with Groupon Customer service). Upon receiving this information, I called Groupon Customer support. I made two calls to Groupon Customer support and followed up with Jhonny. The 2nd call to support I demanded to speak to a manager. ON A RECORDED LINE, the MANAGER assured me that Groupon was investigating why the business had not closed out its account if it was no longer operating but that I would be ISSUED A REFUND ON MY PURCHASE CONCURRENTLY WITH THEIR INVESTIGATION.

Fast forward to the next communication from Groupon: “Thank you so much for your patience while I've looked into this matter. I have been escalated your ticket for review.Thank you so much for your patience while I've looked into this matter. Typically, outside of the 3-day return window, all Groupons are final sale. However, I have been escalated your ticket to look into this issue a bit more. I am still currently investigating this issue. I did have a few questions I was wondering if you could clarify for me? PayPal has notified us of a dispute on this order. I do see you stated that the dispute failed. Would you please provide me with the email screenshot from PayPal notifying you of the disputed outcome? If I have this, I can look into this situation further and see if there's anything further that we can do. I can't promise anything, but I'm happy to dig a little deeper for you here.”

SO now Groupon wanted ME to provide THEM with reason why the dispute failed? I told them that PayPal had closed the dispute so I could not send them screenshots of it. Got this as a reply: “Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, PayPal does not inform us of the decision they made on the transaction so we were not informed if they went ahead and reversed the charge or not. We will be able to see on our end about 45 days after a dispute was filed so if I am able to do anything after my investigation, I will have to wait until around that time so we can fix the dispute noted on the account. I was hoping you had a screenshot or email that I could attach to expedite that issue, but I can just keep an eye on it. I am going to go ahead and look into the closure more closely.

Typically, the merchant's contact us about possible closures prior to their actual close so that we can work with them on getting their accounts shut down but it looks like that didn't happen here if they closed. We will have our merchant contact reach out to the business and look into this issue. Once I know more, I will follow-up with you. This may take a bit of time since we have to wait for Paypal to show that they refused the dispute filed.”

So now I went through my emails and sent copied and pasted messages from PayPal with their notices on why they decided in favor of Groupon and got this:

"Thank you for that information, Rena. I'm not sure what PayPal needs to determine if they will honor a dispute or not, but we did send the transaction information. We did not mention any tracking information to them, so I'm unsure of why they sent that first email to you about that. At this point, we had not received a confirmation of a closure from the business stating they are no longer honoring the Groupon. They have a way to notify us in the system and that was not done. However, I am happy to reach out on our end to get a direct response from them so we can figure out what happened or if there was some kind of confusion. I have attached your ticket to the escalation and will be sure to notify as I know more.

Once I have confirmation from our merchant escalation team, I will get back to you and let you know. We are trying our best to get this resolved soon, but I'm not sure if it will be resolved by Friday. Either way, I will keep you updated. I apologize I could not provide you with the outcome you wanted sooner. I assure you that I am having a team look into this and I will know more soon.”

That was July 20th. Today is the 25th. To date, I have not received my money back, nor have I heard back from Groupon or PayPal on this matter. I expect I will never see my money back because Groupon really doesn’t’ want to refund customers. This is why this company is failing. Quite frankly, I was far more patient with Groupon than I should have been. No customer should EVER be put through such a rigmarole to prove that a product or service is no longer available. That’s not my job. If the company who purchased the services from Groupon is out of business, that is between Groupon and that company.

I, as the third party beneficiary to the agreement, should never have been tasked with proving the business is no longer in operation. My request to have my money back should have been enough and it should have been done promptly within 72 hours. I have been sitting for a month with no money, no lessons and hours of frustration and aggravation. This is some of the worst customer service I have EVER experienced from any company. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GROUPON. I will say that over and over again and make sure anyone I can report this incident to is notified.

My issues is unresolved, I'm freaking out as I spend over $400 and that's the response I got. After awhile he replies and tells me I can do a trade-in that I have to use in 24 hours or I lose it all. For their mistake I'm charged twice and out of money. Then someone else replies days later on how there is nothing he can do and thanks me for my business and never replied. Then you have to wait ten days for your refund. And well, I did exactly that! Groupon claimed that I made two purchases of the SAME Groupon at the SAME time. One via my debit card and one via PayPal. PayPal didn't go through (probably because I don't use it and it's out of date or something) but my debit card did.

Now, the best part! I pressed cancel, but they won't give me my refund because they claim I pressed cancel on the FIRST purchase (via PayPal... the one that did go through, so what exactly was I even being refunded?). And now after an hour of TEXTING, they are REFUSING to give me money back because I didn't cancel within 3 days. Now I'm on the phone with my bank making a claim about this. I can promise you Groupon I will NEVER be using your services again.

There is no contact phone number to get in touch with customer service so I tried to do it for the app. After chatting with two online reps I was told it could not be canceled could not be transferred could not be sold to another individual and basically I was out $132. I have since tried to email their customer support to no avail. They will not help. They do not care. They are Unapologetic. Once they get your money you are not going to get any service from them and there is no way to contact them for support other than some ridiculous chat application.

I purchased two tickets to the Outlaw Music Festival in June 2017 (one month before the scheduled event). My credit card was charged the price of tickets, however Groupon account continued to show the transaction as "in process" up until the day of the event. I never received a groupon voucher, or Gpass, or any type of download needed to be able to attend this event. I made numerous attempts to contact Groupon customer service - which, I might add, is the WORST customer service department I have EVER dealt with. First of all, there is no direct number - you must either do an online chat (complete waste of time!), or email with them (also a waste of time), or request for them to call you.

I spoke with half a dozen reps, and was either given mis-information, or treated like I'm a complete idiot who doesn't know how to use their site (which I have used many times previously). Finally, after wasting countless hours, I went off on one of their reps and demanded to speak with a supervisor. I was told one was not available but would call me back within the same day. The call never came. This was the most frustrating experience ever! I will NEVER purchase another Groupon, you simply cannot be assured that you will get what you pay for, they will not refund your money if they drop the ball - you are basically SOLD and their customer service department is a joke. Terrible.

I have been having trouble getting on to my Groupon account for the past few weeks. When I FINALLY got through (although all the Customer Service numbers that still show up are NOT in service so should be taken off their sites) I got some person who could not speak English. When we finally got through to each other that I was trying to have my password reset but was not getting a reply from Groupon to my email account, I was told I would have to pay $99 for them to reset the Password. I asked to speak to a manager and he said they had no managers there, but when I insisted I speak to someone higher up - he pretended to put me through to another person, but it was still him on the line!!! I told him that I would be reporting his fraudulent ask for money and then hung up on him.

Shortly afterwards I got a response that I could reset my Password. Now, a week later I am having the same problem and when I tried to contact a person again via Live-chat they are telling me I have to pay $5.00 (refundable, supposedly) to talk to someone. How do I get my Password reset so that I can access my coupons??? I have never been so dissatisfied with any company -- and Groupon, I thought, would be much more user friendly.

On June 18, I purchased a Groupon for a haircut and deep conditioning from Rockabetty's Salon in Madison, WI. The Groupon offer stated in the fine print section that there was a limit of one per customer. As a result it was my original intent to purchase just one. As I proceeded to fill out the information, I was asked to state the quantity. I assumed I only had the option to select one. Instead, I was given the option to purchase one or two. This made me think that the restriction of one per customer meant that I could make one transaction, either for a quantity of one or two. I selected a quantity of two. and paid a total of $35.10.

When I redeemed my first Groupon, roughly four weeks later, I was informed that I could only use one Groupon. I asked why they offered customers the option of purchasing two Groupons in the same transaction, if the customer can only use one. They said that's just the way it's set up on Groupon. They suggested I give my other Groupon to a friend to use.

I reported all of this to Groupon and they said since the purchase was more than three days old, they couldn't do anything for me. They went on to say that they provided the business's phone number at the time of purchase so I should have contacted them at that time of to clarify any misunderstandings. Needless to say, I am completely dissatisfied with Groupon and will never use them again and I hope others can learn from this experience and think twice before engaging with this company.

I purchased "Oakley" brand sunglasses and I received cheap plastic counterfeit/fake copies. I even received a pair of counterfeit "Ray-Ban" sunglasses in an fake Oakley box and case. I contacted Groupon when I looked up tracking information and it showed shipping from China! They said they were "final sale", nothing they can do about and to contact them when I received them. When I received them I opened the boxes and they were cheap shiny plastic junk. They had the Oakley logo printed all fuzzy on the lens and nose piece which the manufacturer does not do. They did not have serial numbers on the frames as they are supposed to. They did not even resemble the ones pictured on their Groupon website of the ones I ordered.

I contacted them again and each person in customer service told me different things. Some said final sale and nothing I could do then they would end chat after sending me a link which went back to home page. Another said would get back to me, they never did. After many attempts to reach someone that would help, I was unable to log into my account. I got a reply a couple days later saying they re-instated my email address and to click on link. I did that and still unable to log in! I tried resetting password and the same problem. I still have orders outstanding and there is no way to contact anyone or get an answer or check status. They even told me to contact the merchant since it was a third party. I told them, I'm sure the merchant is going to reply with "Yes, they sent me counterfeit items"!!! This is ridiculous and since the payments went to the Groupon first I believe they should be accountable and issue refunds for these counterfeit items.

I can't believe such a large corporation would treat its customers so poorly! I have sent so many replies to the previous messages and no response back. I cannot log into my account to see or contact the vendor like they told me I need to which will not do any good at all I believe. I think I have been more than patient with this whole mess! I would like to have this investigated since I'm sure they have sold thousands of these sunglasses to their customers. They should have researched where the products came from and background of the company before selling these items to the public. The items had different company names, no address or contact information on the website.

They told me to contact the merchant from the "Thank you for your purchase" email which I never received. There is no way to contact anyone and the phone number listed on payment information for Groupon is not in service! This has been so frustrating and absolutely ridiculous! I want to tell everyone to beware of the scam that is happening!

Purchased a Groupon for window tinting. There was one price for cars and another for Vans. After phoning and e-mailing Massive Mobile Window Tinting twice each for a week, they finally responded. They asked me what make/model of car I had and when I told them Mercury Grand Marquis they told me it would be another $60.00. I complained to Groupon. After two weeks of back and forth e-mail they sent me the e-mail below; I am also posting my reply to that. No more Groupon for me.

Groupon: On the original screen where you made this purchase, **, we included a Fine Print section on the deal page. This section will always include all conditions of the deal that you should know before making your purchase. In this case, the restriction in question is: "Mobile tinting valid only within 15 miles of downtown Orlando. Additional $35 fee for mobile service. Promo codes not valid on this offer. 6.5% sales tax not included and due at time of installation."

"If you do not have a further break down of the charges that the merchant is requesting they are likely due to the information in the Fine Print regarding the $35 fee and taxes. Since this information was provided prior to purchase and we are outside the normal refund window, this voucher cannot be refunded. If you don't wish to use it because of the additional fee you can also pass it along as a gift to someone else. Otherwise I can still honor the offer to initiate a Trade In made by the previous representative. Please let me know if you have any other questions or if there is anything else I can do to help." They have a brick and mortar location. We never discussed their coming to my home, so that $35. is not an issue. It is clear to me that you are looking for excused not to refund my money. I did not change my mind, the vendor refused to honor your coupon.

Groupon stated that these were great seats and that the concert’s started at 8 pm, it so happened that the concert sold very little tickets. The tickets I purchased under Groupon's advertisement of great seats ended up being second to last row in the balcony and instead of an 8 pm show time the concert started at 7:30 pm, big difference because we missed the opening act. Groupon never gave a seat chart. They sold the tickets with the insinuation of being good seats. The tickets that were cheaper ended up with floor seats and the tickets that were more expensive were second to last row in the balcony. Shame on you Groupon.

I emailed Groupon several times of my dissatisfaction, and they said someone would contact me but that too turned out to be a lie. They hide behind emails and not having a contact person for customers to call. I spoke with the manager at Valley View Casino Center the venue where this was held and he was of no assistance. An evening that was suppose to be fun turned out as a disaster. I was very dissatisfied.

I purchased a Groupon for a Meineke discount, and selected PayPal to make my purchase. Prior to buying, I read through the details on my phone to make sure it wasn't just a coupon for one Meineke store. It showed good reviews and looked to be for any Meineke store. Once I made the purchase and opened the Groupon, however, right there on the first page it showed that the store was over an hour away, and the reviews were poor. It would have been nice to see this when I initially made the purchase and I'm still not sure why it was so different.

I decided to trade-in for Omaha Steaks, and owed .99 cents more for this purchase. Instead of PayPal, I used my credit card. Turns out I hadn't updated in awhile so it didn't go through. An email said all I had to do was update my card or add a new card, so I added a new card, one I use to make purchases online and in stores on a daily basis, but it still didn't work. There was no customer service number, only an email option, so I emailed to share my problem.

The customer service rep emailed back two days later to state that my card didn't work when she tried to put it through. That was exactly my problem. This rep did not seem to come from IT, she seemed to do exactly what I did, and never really fixed the problem. I emailed again to ask for a refund. A different person responded, saying I couldn't get a refund, but that I had 24 hours to 'trade-in' again, and if I wasn't able to, I could email back for more help. Unfortunately, I had absolutely no time within that 24 hour period to 'trade-in' due to work, kids, and a class assignment that was due.

I emailed back and they said it was my fault since I canceled and wouldn't receive a refund. I asked for the manager's contact information and phone number and never received an answer. The setup for customer service is horrible, email as an only option to resolve customer complaints makes Groupon come off as cheap, cold, inefficient, and that resolving customer concerns is not a priority since there seems to be no option to speak with someone on the phone when email doesn't resolve the problem. Multiple individuals keep responding. It keeps getting passed on depending on who is answering emails at that particular point in time. My issue was never resolved, and they say it's my fault so I won't get a refund.

I had not used this coupon nor had given the auto detailing shop any information that I was using a Groupon coupon. I was unable to use it as I had to contact Groupon's customer service to get it restored. Again, a couple weeks later, I went to use the coupon. Again it had been moved to a "used" section. Twice? Really?

So I ended up having to pay full price at the detail shop. Now Groupon is refusing to refund the $115.00 I spent on this coupon. They say I can only get refund if the Detail shop cannot provide the service. But, they can remove my ability to not be able to access or use the coupon twice, and not be held accountable. I have contacted their "customer service" department over 20 times, politely, through email and they still refuse to give me back the money for an unused and now unneeded coupon. What company can rightfully block a customer from using a service they paid for, then refuse to refund. It's a complete scam.

I could not find a live phone number so tried customer service live chat and was told I could get a credit but because it was outside of the 3-day window for refunds I could not have a refund. I argued with the girl for a bit then she basically told me I should've gotten in touch with them sooner and canceled the chat. I emailed customer service and got the same answer.

So even though it was supposedly a failed transaction and should never have been charged, I am not entitled to a refund of my $90 and now have a Groupon I can't use because you can only use them once at this location. To top it off, I can't even speak to someone with actual authority to help me because there's no phone number. This is not customer service.

The reason for writing this is the hope that it will be communicated to Groupon, and also so that anyone reading this may learn from my dreaded experience. When I went to cancel a trip reservation I made through Groupon Getaways, I learned that whoever submitted it didn't use my email and info, but instead used a company one. This made it almost impossible to get my reservation cancelled. After four hours and speaking to 7 different reps, it was promised to me that the reservation was cancelled. Since I never received an email confirming this, I called back to check, and the second nightmare began. I couldn't reach anyone directly because the phone #s provided are bogus ones. Via live chat, the rep just kept repeating the same thing: "There's nothing we can do because your reservation is still active and it's too late to cancel now."

I explained that the hotel has confirmed this reservation was cancelled, and this could only be done by the one who MADE the reservation. I asked him to confirm what I heard: that I'm being charged for a hotel reservation that I cannot use? He just kept repeating that the reservation's still active through Groupon. That there was no way they'd remove the $600 charge, even though the hotel confirmed that I could not use it there. Then, he said there's nothing he can do to help, that they cannot call this hotel to check since this is beyond their jurisdiction/responsibility. That they'd contact me the next day (which they never did) and hung up on me mid-sentence.

Hours and hours of frustration with no help in sight, left me in tears. Thank God that after explaining this to American Express, they almost immediately removed the charge and treated me with true professionalism and understanding. It's good to know that for every untrained uncaring unprofessional agent out there, there are countless more at other companies who know what professional courtesy and true customer service is, and provide it well. Shame on you Groupon. :(

Here's another Scamon scam. This vendor selling this product did not deliver goods. After the end of four weeks, I contacted Scamon concerning whereabouts as a tracking number was given to the courier (Auspost) but nothing showed up on the shipment tracker page. Groupon EMEA (because the Australian office was closed down) in India, yes, India, did some follow up then wrote the following tripe:

"Regarding the "US 10, Black/Onyx/Carbon: Asics Men's Kayano Trainers: On the original screen where you made this purchase, we included a "Fine Print" section in the middle of the page just below the image. This section will always include all conditions of the deal that you should know before making your purchase. In this case, the restriction in question is: No delivery to PO Boxes or Parcel Lockers. Further, we do not have an option to arrange for the pick. If on the day, your delivery arrives and you are not around to receive your item, our courier partners will either call you again to re-arrange another delivery or leave a calling card at your door, you may then contact them to arrange a redelivery or pickup. I have now cancelled the voucher and processed the refund back to your original method of payment.

Our refunds are processed as a reverse transaction, meaning the refunded amount will appear in your bank account with the date that you purchased the Groupon voucher. Please be advised that you should see it in your account within 7 working days and if you are unable to locate your refund after this period, please do not hesitate to contact us."

This is utter garbage as previous goods have been delivered to said Auspost PO Box and been received and signed for. Four orders for goods of various sorts and counting. But somehow, this order has hit a "PO Box" delivery snag. Scamon thinks PO means "Piss Off" not "Post Office" box. The orders was supposed shipped by Auspost, asked to be delivered to an Auspost location operating an Auspost post box system. And yet, the delivery went missing in a supposedly "closed environment".

Hiding behind "fine print" is one thing, putting on a time limit credit refund is extortion to the point of robbery. Failing to complete a basic transaction under contract law, where offer, acceptance and consideration were given between the vendor and consumer, to then impose a time limit or forfeit the credit, is beyond a joke to the point of extortion. Groupon have used all forms of stalling tactics, to avoid fulfillment of delivery. An option was given to them, to redeliver the goods. But Groupon declined because they know they had a loss making deal but found weasel words to weasel their way out of a deal. Then went for the double dip of time limit credit or lose the entire amount spent initially! STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLOWN VENDOR!
