Let's be clear—I have ordered a couple dozen products/deals from Groupon over the past few years. Some have been of good value while others have been nicely dressed junk. When it comes to actual, physical products, I find that Groupon is a peddler of stuff most other places can't sell. Honestly, I feel the best things to purchase from Groupon are discounted tickets and restaurant deals. If you already plan on going those places, the reduced prices are nice. Otherwise, I'd avoid them after what I've gone through recently.

Once an item is purchased, delivery can be sketchy. Case in point: I ordered a set of blackout curtains for my daughter for Christmas. Don't ask me why she wanted them so badly, but she did. Being of modest means, this would entail the majority of her presents from us as parents, so we were relying on this coming through for us. Buying them Dec. 11th, delivery was slated to be around the 18th to 20th. On the 22nd, I started to worry a bit, so I contacted Groupon. Getting hold of Groupon's contact info is a bit tricky and takes some searching, but I finally got through to them after waiting for 45 minutes.

All I ever heard from their customer support folks was that they weren't sure where the package was even though it was showing up as delivered in their system. They had difficulty finding my email address (as others have mentioned), the background of their support center was chaotic, and the phone connection was horrible. After repeating myself over and over, the lady pretending to help me finally looked up delivery info.

FedEx said the product was delivered in the final stage by USPS, but nobody could explain why the box was not actually at my home. We had 2+ people at the home both days they thought it was delivered and our dog goes bonkers when someone even approaches our doorstep. Groupon's solution? Give me a refund if it doesn't show up the day before Christmas. Okay, so I get my money back, I get it. But the day before Christmas when I was ordering online to avoid the madness? Not cool. This level of shady business is not alright in my books. I will now begin the search for another company that handles its issues more promptly without screwing up major gift-giving.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM GROUPON. The month of December has been a horrible experience with Groupon Goods! I have a flood of concerns and recommend to all DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. I will start with this last situation that is just unconscionable that any reputable company would allow to happen. Advertised was a Michael Kors WOMEN'S classic watch. The first sku number on the initial listing was different than when a selection was made but the description remained Women's classic. What arrived was a huge watch when compared to my other women's classic was very different. I decided to research the sku number of my selection and it indeed is a MEN'S watch. The sale on the site was final sale but what I received was not what was advertised.

Groupon chat said they needed pictures and asked me to reply to an email. I sent my concern with various pictures of what was advertised. Their response to the email indicated it was a final sale and I should read the fine print. THAT IS FALSE ADVERTISING. I have not faith or trust that what you are reading to make your purchase decision is truthful nor correct. I will NOT be purchasing from them using my hard earned money.

Of course this is only the last issue. If you order multiple quantities of a product VERY RARELY does the correct number of items get to you. But customer service says "our records show that the package was delivered. You need to reach out to the delivery company." I irately responded that FedEx does not fulfill the order they deliver. Now I have credit to use in items I am unsure will be 1) what I intended to order and/or 2) actually arrive to me. STAY FAR AWAY FROM GROUPON. Use Amazon. At least their customer service reads your issue and responds with solution that fit your concern. Groupon copies and pastes verbatim what is on their site regardless if it fits the concern you are trying to address.

He just reiterated their 3-day refund period. I told him my situation and also the fact that I wasn't even able to call on the weekend to cancel my order and get my refund. I purchased a refurbished GSM unlocked iPhone 6 64GB from Groupon. I received the item within the shipping time and was satisfied with the purchase, until yesterday. It's been about 38 days since I made the purchase and believed that the standard 90 day warranty applies (industry standard on refurbished units) to the purchase, but when I tried to get support for the phone, I was received by a huge surprise to which I was informed that there is nothing that they could do. I spoke to Marvinne ** via the online chat support. She explained the following to me. "The vendor has responsibility on their valued customers like you that's why we could have this rectified if this has been returned or checked within 14 days. I would also advise though to purchase brand new items to avoid these kind of circumstances." Really...this is a lesson learned. NEVER...EVER purchase from Groupon.

Bought a surf lesson and also a Pearl Harbour Tour while our stay in Hawaii. Surf lesson could not be booked as was booked out while our stay in Hawaii. Pearl Harbour Tour was not met by the Supplier as they did not turn up to pick us up from the hotel as booked. When finally we got in contact with the Supplier, they advised us that they no longer had the licence to conduct the tour. On our return home to Australia, wrote to Customer Service at Groupon and with may e-mails back and forward, they kept on advising that they do not refund after 3 days, even though I kept on advising them that the Suppliers did not meet their needs.

Finally they agreed after 2 weeks to give us a refund to our Groupon Account, that doesn't help me as who knows when I will be returning to Hawaii. I asked if they could refund the money to my credit card, but they didn't, so now I have credits on my Groupon Account and who knows when I will ever use them. With the experience that we had, they first of all upset all our plans we had and then had to book everything in Hawaii which took up most of the day. Will not recommend Groupon.

I purchased two pieces of jewelry as Christmas presents on Nov. 24, 2016. On Dec. 9, 2016 I received email confirmation that one of the two items had been shipped. On Dec. 21, 2016 I had received no items so I called the support line and they said they didn't know where they were (full refund provided). However, they also shared that the second item was never shipped despite my credit card being charged!! Sounds like the merchant was the problem... My guess is that the merchant probably does this sort of thing all the time and then just hopes that people won't follow up because it is too much of a hassle. Oh well... First and probably last time with Groupon and have to go shopping again for more presents but at least they promised a reimbursement.

I'm adding my two cents because I can see most people come here with complaints. I was searching for info on Groupon's g-pass ticket system and it lead me here. I have been a Groupon customer for nearly ten years. In all that time I've only had two bad experiences. We purchased a $6 discount Groupon for a local business and they don't seem to be in business anymore. Groupon will not respond or refund our money. It's not a huge deal because, hello? It's $6. But the problem is the deal is still offered when you look it up.

We had a bad experience with a specific business that did some yard work for a friend. We purchased a Groupon for her for her birthday because she had some health issues and had been unable to do her own yard work. The company wouldn't return phone calls, charged her extra on top of the Groupon, and did a horrible job. I filed a formal complaint with Groupon but again, I notice they are still offering the deal on their site.

Despite those two incidents we have had nothing but fun with our Groupon deals. We frequently buy discount meals for local restaurants (Typically "$20 for $16" or something like that). I've also purchased Old Navy discounts in the past (Although beware! You cannot make returns and get your money back. If you return the items you've lost your money. It's complicated). But by far we have had more positive experiences than negative. I even had one company extend the expiration date because we completely forgot we had purchased it. Always read the fine print, but in general you can get good deals if you use local deals (I've never purchased a product from them, so I cannot speak to that experience. And from what I can tell so far I would stay away from the "g-pass").

Cust ser reps and supervisors at GroupOn tell me that FedEx tracking system is having glitches and not updating. But GroupOn site clearly shows that item has not shipped and also states that all items ship within 2 days. Cust ser rep and supervisor have no ability to tell me when item will ship or expedite the shipping and refuse to allow me to cancel the item. My suggestion is to call your credit card co and place item in dispute. Charge back will be placed on GroupOn and they will have to show proof of package they never sent.

When I called Groupon the rep said she would attempt to resolve and would call back within 72 hrs. Never got a callback and now they are saying I am stuck. The one rep even asked me if I would be willing to fly to California and maybe stay at a resort near the Sky Zone. Are you kidding me!

Now I am attempting to take them to small claims court. Absolutely nowhere on the receipt does it say that it's only valid for California and the deal is deceiving itself. This is a crime and I will get my $ back. Now I have had a rep telling me that all supervisors are busy and they can call me back within 48 hrs or I can continue to hold. I chose to hold and asked her how long would it be and she said 5 minutes and have now been waiting 25 minutes. To be continued...

When I first opened my business I contacted Groupon to set up an account. I was very surprised extreme price of using the system but thought I should try it for 3 months. Fees are not what they say. I offer a $100.00 service for 50% off. Now, I am at $50.00. Groupon takes 50% and now I am at $25.00, but they also charge fees so I was getting about $21.00. My service providers make 50%. If they agree to accept a Groupon, that would be a $25.00 charge for me to pay them. In other words, I have to pay $14.00 per client.

Groupon offers refunds after clients receive services. I had clients come in and either make up stories, complain because they did not follow the directions, complain because they missed their appointment. One couple got their money back because I refused to sexually service the men. Groupon fails to notify the business if there is a complaint. I found out that I had 6 refunds provided without my knowledge in a few month. I knew each case and I had either offered free upgrades to the client or provided a reasonable solution.

For example: One woman was not aware of a medical condition that she had. During the course of the service, it became apparent that she was not properly diagnosed. I modified the service as soon as she said there was an issue. The next day, her boyfriend called and said she was in extreme pain. This only happens to people with a specific medical condition and I had already referred her to an MD. She did not know about her condition (at least she said to me). When they left my office, they were both happy, until her soreness the following day. I did everything medically and ethically correct. Groupon did not contact me and gave both of them refunds. That was a total of 3 hours that I worked without pay.

Groupon THREATEN TO SUE me for refusing to start a second voucher with my other company. I had a $140.00 service that cost $40.00 to provide (before payroll). Groupon harassed me for months so I finally decided to listen to a proposal. They tried to use fancy words to confuse me into thinking I was getting $35.00 per service. BUT that was only in the case that someone purchase a pack of 6. Groupon was actually offering to pay me less than $15.00 per service. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I cannot afford to offer that service. Then the sales rep started to follow me on social media and send communication via social media, emails, and phone calls. This went on for two months.

The sales rep lied about how Groupon works. Anyone that pays $25.00 for a service is not going to pay $140.00. Less than 1% of Groupon people return. Some returning members I have asked to leave my company because they demanding, unreasonable, and not worth my time. I only agree to work with Groupon for that 1% of people that are nice (my number one goal is to service nice people). After I had both verbally said no several times and wrote several emails explaining why I would not accept the deal, Groupon's rep said she was going to send me to their legal team because I was verbally harsh and threatening. Without knowledge, they blocked my original company. A company that was not even involved with the service they were pushing for.

My deal ended up lasting a few years because they never shut it off. I had a 5 star rating with zero complaints until the day they cut off my deal. They received a 1 star because the woman no-called-no-showed her appointment and did not want to pay the fee. (FYI - Since the deals ended, there are no more fees for no-shows or canceled appointments because it never happens anymore.) Groupon is nothing more than an economical bully that is pushing small businesses around. They have a monopoly on their voucher system. There is zero competition for small business. Running local print ads is pointless. It's a real ** to have such a huge company squishing your business.

I can't even begin to describe the amount of issues that plagued my interactions with this company. I ordered three items (which were gifts) during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals, totaling around $100. I realized almost immediately that the mobile app automatically uses the last shipping address as the current shipping address (without giving you a prompt) so I went in and fixed the shipping address well within their 2 hour period. However, 2 of the 3 items were still being sent to the wrong place. I knew the address change had gone through because it was fixed for one of them.

Now was where the nightmare begin. First I emailed them two to three times, didn't really get a response, just copy/paste statements on their shipping policies. Ok fine, I went ahead and called their customer service and they weren't able to fix it either. Just ended up cancelling the order for me. Told me that they checked the other items and fixed the addresses on those and that I shouldn't have the old address on my profile anymore. Great, I still need to find another gift but at least the other items fine.

Now came the second item that was supposed to be shipped to the corrected address -- nope! This time I tried their online chat which was even more useless than the emails. One lady told me to call FedEx, I called FedEx and they said they can't fix it. Chatted with another lady that transferred to me to the supervisor that gave me the number for DHL (which was not the correct company). After wasting my time with that, told me there's nothing she can do for me. So I called them again on the phone, and for the third time they wanted me to call the carrier (FedEx), after I have already explained multiple times that that does not work! This time they won't even cancel the order even after all that.

I am so done with this company. If you are even tempted to order from this company, don't do it. Just go with Amazon or someone else with good customer service. Now I am out $100, missed all the Black Friday sales (because I ordered from them instead of spending my money elsewhere), wasted a lot of time trying to fix this, and still have no gifts ordered for Christmas.

When I originally started using Groupon several years ago, it was an excellent company that provided a great service. Groupon provides deals for local businesses, which gave me a great opportunity as a customer to explore local businesses that I previously knew nothing about. Furthermore, it obviously provided the opportunity for the businesses to get new customers. Whenever I had problems with the deals I had purchased, the company provided excellent customer service to remedy the issue.

Now, unfortunately, Groupon has developed some severely bad business practices. Groupon routinely does not place limits on the number of deals a business can offer, even when the business cannot possibly accommodate that number of deals. For example: I purchased a deal for a 1-hour massage, and when I called the business to book my massage appointment, they told me that they have no openings for the next 8 months! My Groupon deal EXPIRES in 3 months!

Now, Groupon has this policy that if you make the appointment before the expiration, then the offer is still valid. If however, you have a problem like I do, with being able to schedule a massage appointment 8 MONTHS down the road and keeping it, then you're out of luck. I made the appointment, but something important came up for work, I could not keep the appointment, and the deal expired. I still have not redeemed it, and cannot redeem it, because it is expired.

Groupon also has this policy that "the value of your Groupon never expires." That is a false statement. The "value" of your Groupon deal is the price of a 1-hour massage, but after the deal expires, you can only apply the AMOUNT YOU PAID for the purchase of a massage. So, if I bought a $40 massage that normally costs $120, but because the company providing the massage could not get me an appointment in a reasonable time-frame, the deal expired, now all I get is a $40 credit towards a $120 massage. I have to pay the additional $80 just to get the value of the $40 back that I initially paid. THAT IS NOT WHAT I PAID FOR.

I have tried numerous times to contact Groupon on this issue, but they simply do not care. They do not provide any restrictions on how many deals a business can offer, even if it is COMPLETELY CLEAR that the business cannot follow through with all of those purchases. Furthermore, even after multiple customer complaints about this, Groupon STILL will not restrict the number of deals being sold to unwitting customers who are never going to get the product they paid for. It is a complete SCAM by the businesses in collaboration and complete cooperation with Groupon. They do not provide the services offered at the prices listed, and they do not compensate for their customers being scammed in this way.

My first call to Groupon's representative, I was informed after calling the USPS to see the delivery status, I would be able to call back and have the items resent to me without an issue, which was NOT the case. After follow up calls and being told different things by each person, I asked to speak to a supervisor.

The "supervisor" Jerald assured and reassured me over and over that he was resending the packages out as we spoke and in an expedite manner. He also gave a $5 groupon bucks to my account for the inconvenience, which the Bucks were received. He informed me I would get an email in a couple days with the tracking number. After a couple days, and not receiving an email, I called back yet AGAIN and spoke to another representative. I was now informed that department can NOT reissued products and the ticket number from the "supervisor" call had notes that didn't even pertain to our conversation.

I was informed a refund might be given back to me and if so, for me to order the product again. I wouldn't have an issue if I could purchase the items at the cyber Monday sale price, which I can not. On my latest conversation with a representative I was informed an email was sent to a higher customer service department which has access to reissue items and I should relieved an email in 24-72 hours. I tried to call Groupon head quarters, however the line is always busy. After over a week of calls and lies, I wouldn't doubt if the Chicago "headquarters" is another scam.

Not only are the representative liars and inadequate to do their jobs correctly, they do NOT know the first thing about courtesy and professionalism!! From the many calls I had to make, I was on hold for long periods of time just to have someone come back to put me back on hold again for another time period. One representative had actually put me on hold for 15 minutes (third hold of the call, came back on the line and while she talking disconnected the call (clever!)). As of now, I am still out of my money and have no products.

As a Groupon merchant and one of their top sellers, I have to say that this was a mediocre marketing company who currently owes me $21,000 for earned income via expired vouchers. I had to relocate to a different area and most massage clients kept their vouchers. I would then give them a home visit. There are 3 kinds of consumers that purchase Groupons: 1. The low socioeconomic person that if they find what they are looking for they return as a customer and purchase the service directly from the merchant. 2. The professional who wants to try a new service and returns to purchase the service from the merchant. 3. The very cheap and frugal person who just wants a cheap massage and then runs out the back door without tipping.

Groupon was great when they first opened but they kept changing their payment plans for the merchant. In the beginning, after sales were final. They would pay the merchant a lump sum. After 6 months of business with them, they began paying us bi-weekly. Then they changed again breaking up the payments into smaller amounts leaving the Earnings last on the payment list until vouchers expire to only pay the merchant the balance of what was sold. Currently, the company changed the website so the earnings are no longer visible online. Why is that? What are they hiding? I believe they may be cooking their books on a global level and the merchant is robbed from their earnings. Currently looking for merchants who are facing the same issues to begin a class action lawsuit.

I'm not sure what tactics Groupon salespeople use to get these small businesses on their platform but they need to be more selective. This is the second Groupon I have not been able to use in a row even though I followed the terms listed in their agreement. Groupon is refusing to refund the amount.

I kept receiving emails from them for over 10 days promoting Dre beats, promoting sales, asking if I wanted to buy more. The last delivery date said the last date of shipment would be 12/5. So today 12/7/16, I wake up to an email stating they are refunding me and it may take up to 10 DAYS with my bank. WHAT?! These things were on sale for black Friday! I did not buy them elsewhere because Groupon kept sending me ONE day sales. NOW I'm not getting them?! WILL NEVER shop here again. I bet if you go online right now, they are still promoting an item they have no intent on sending you. But they charge you for it.

I purchased a Groupon certificate and due to issues with the business owner, I am unable to use it before the expiration date. I emailed Groupon and I was told, no problem. I could exchange it at any time, just let them know. I have been emailing them for almost 2 weeks and they are dragging their feet, not responding, asking the same questions and purposely won't expedite this exchange. The Groupon expires in January and when I attempted to email a different person, I was told I cannot exchange after it expires. Well, isn't that fantastic. This was bought for my fiancé's 50th birthday and I've been trying to exchange it, so he still receives a gift and I'm not out almost $80. They are running me in circles and I cannot get anyone to respond and get this matter taken care of. I have all the emails, stating I can exchange, no problem. Funny, they are just waiting for the certificate to expire in a few weeks.

This is completely unethical and I have ordered many things from them and referred many people to them. No more. This is beyond frustrating. I am on disability, with MS and don't have an extra $80 for Groupon to cheat me out of. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone, anymore. Thanks, Groupon, all I have to give as a gift are all the emails from "Paul", telling me, "no problem".

On our return home I contacted Groupon to see if they could refund our money. After several attempts to contact the merchant they were unsuccessful but Groupon said they could not issue a refund until they confirmed that the business was closed. Doesn't it make sense that if they could not establish contact after two weeks that the business is closed? The coupon is only $20 so I am not upset about the money. I am upset about Groupon's lack of customer support. They are a terrible company and customer support is pathetic. I would recommend that you stay away from this company and avoid getting stung like I did. They have no idea what it takes to run a company properly. Only interested in their bottom line.

The amount paid will never expire and may be applied toward any goods or services offered by the merchant if the original goods or services specified on the voucher are no longer available. They didn't stand behind their voucher. They stated show was open, could be seen Sat-Thur. It was Wed. I couldn't see my show. Here is the copy of the email from Groupon:

"I'm sorry to hear about the cancellation! Fortunately, the business should be able to assist with rescheduling you so that you can still enjoy your Groupon. As long as you contact them before your Groupon expires, they should be able to reschedule you for any available date, even if they are fully booked through the expiration date. If you aren't able to find another time that works for you, you can always give this Groupon to a friend who might have time to use it. Unless the Fine Print states otherwise, Groupons are fully transferable and make great gifts. We never intend to upset our subscribers, and we genuinely appreciate your thoughts. I'll make sure that your opinion is communicated to the appropriate channels. It is not our policy to issue a refund after 3 days from purchase. All sales are final. We only issue refunds if the business is unable to provide the services offered in the deal.”

I don't understand. I was told by a group agent that the money would be refunded. You are not standing behind your product. The V Theater needs to be called so my money can be given back. The theater was dark that night, and you guys need to refund my money because your voucher states that it can be used on: Marc Savard Comedy Hypnosis at V Theater on Saturday-Thursday at 10 p.m. (up to 66% Off). That was not the case. The theater was closed on Wed night. In return, your voucher does not stand up to the term and condition that Groupon and I agree to. I was there and ready to see the show. I was a big fan of Groupon when it was first started by Andrew Mason because he had good intentions, but then he got mixed up with greedy investors like Eric Lefkosky and Brad Keywell and it's turned into a sleazy business since Andrew was ousted. I got an email on a Tuesday featuring a deal for goods that would last until Wednesday, so late Tuesday evening, I went to purchase the deal and WHILE I was in the process, it switched the price from $99 to $149. My first thought was there must have been a mistake on my end, so I tried again and same problem. I contacted customer support and the rep first debated with me that I might be making up the original $99 deal since it now showed $149. I told him repeatedly it was through Wednesday, but he kept arguing with me.

Then, he said "if you have a screenshot of any proof, we can match the price" so thankfully, I had the original email featuring a dozen deals and took a screenshot and sent it. He then said "we need a screenshot that shows the Groupon logo" on the email. I explained that I can't take a screenshot of the ENTIRE email but could forward the original email. After receiving it, he said it didn't matter because it wasn't a screenshot, even though it was better proof than any screenshot. He then suggested to just wait and see if the deal comes back next year unless I wanted to pay the $149 price. He said that it's still a savings from the regular retail price of $249, but that is FALSE. The manufacturer's list price is $149. In other words, Groupon not only did the bait and switch on the deal, but even lied about the retail price of the product.

The reckless disregard of this rep was alarming because while demanding that I somehow prove information about a deal they already have information about, he then couldn't care less about the deception and false information. My purpose is writing this is not because I expect my deal to be honored, but when these type of companies are allowed to misbehave so badly, there must be consequences.

I not only will never purchase anything or trust Groupon, but I will take it one step further by urging everyone to boycott working for the company, unload any shares in this sleazy operation and help accelerate the demise of what started out as a good company but has become a giant boiler room to exploit both business and consumers. The investors, Eric Leftkosky and Brad Keywell, became very rich from Groupon. I can only hope what goes around comes around to them and they have to give back every penny to shareholders when the company goes bankrupt.

The reviews on Groupon were all excellent. I failed to do my homework and check other reviews. If I had I would have never purchased the Groupon. So my complaint is about Groupon in rating businesses so high yet when they are not. Years ago when Groupon started they were humble in getting business and more interested in doing the right thing such as ratings. If you did not have a good rating they would not market for you. But now they like a lot of companies have gotten so large and the money is flowing they forgot their basic concept which was the very people who got them started.

So how could you Groupon walk and take advantage of the people who got you where you are today. Not even that but when I purchased the voucher I could not print it or email like then say you could as a gift. Four time and over an hour with customer service and I was never actually able to print the voucher with the bar code. However the Spa did honor the request with the receipt. I made a purchase for 3 people to attend the Blue Man group but this purchase was doubled and I was charged twice. I exchanged lots of emails requesting the refund of a purchase that Groupon made alone without my authorization and yet everyone they say that it will not be possible to refund! Great. I'm crazy trying to pass the ticket to not have prejudice that Groupon is causing me and to my surprise on the site I can only see 3 vouchers! As a matter of fact, it is possible that Groupon is a great company and I am not having the unpleasantness of experiencing it!

First I receive an email that the purchase was not made, then I made another purchase by changing the number of the card then the purchase was made and I received the email after that without any email from the Groupon or without my authorization was charged the value of the comlra that was canceled and after disappointing me to know that I will not have the money back I can not see the voucher that I paid without wanting and that I have not yet available! The Groupon charged me 6 tickets instead of 3 is in my credit card but only 3 vouchers are available. Will you give me back the money? Important detail the show is in 6 hours. I want my money back or the voucher available in 1 hira oarabque I can sell! This is a steal for the rest of the Groupon. I'm feeling so badly injured! Shameful.

I ordered two items from Groupon on November 14, 2016 - Mickey Mouse earrings and necklace. They were supposed to be processed within 2 days. It is now November 22, 2016 and the order has not been processed. Groupon CHANGED my order on their backend (so the order that's processing isn't even correct - and I have the receipts for proof), and I have called twice and spoken with Elise (November 21) and Kevin (November 22) and no one can give me any information on the order and they will not allow me to cancel the order even though they can see that the order was changed internally and has not even processed.

This is FALSE advertising as they specified that this item will process within 2 business days; ILLEGAL changing of data on the company's backend as the original order was changed by Groupon after I made the purchase; and UNFAIR business practices as I am not able to cancel the order after all of the above. Of course Groupon took the money out of my account on November 14th. So now, here I am, with no products, no tracking or order information, I'm out $29.62 and Groupon has not tried to help or rectify the problem AT ALL. Each customer service rep has told me a different story and neither offered any kind of resolution. Nor did either offer to look into this further and get back to me with some information. I do not even know how they stay in business with these shady practices.

On 11/11/16 I purchased a Groupon for a wax service. I attempted to reach the vendor several times unsuccessfully. On 11/15/16 I contacted Groupon and they indicated that their scheduling department would contact the vendor. On 11/20/16 I reached back out to Groupon because I had not heard from their scheduling department. I was informed that the agent had not sent my information to scheduling. Annoyed with the whole process I asked for my money back. The agent explained a refund was not an option because it was past 3 days since the date of purchase. Even though the vendor wasn't responding and Groupon dropped the ball I'm being penalized. After a few rounds of not getting anywhere except another promise to once again send my information to scheduling, I told the agent to keep the money and just close my account. I will never use Groupon again.

Contacted Groupon right away, had no explanation, but could not ship another and would issue credit. That was good because the shirt I received is hardly worth using as a rag. It is horrible in all ways... no hem, oversize, neck cut go the shoulder edge, material is terrible. What else can I say? It is not worth a dollar, charged 9.99 originally 19.98. I won't even waste the money sending it back. Have deleted GROUPON from all my contacts!

I wanted to start by saying I have used Groupon for many years and have used over 5 addresses on their site. I have never in my years had such bad customer service with Groupon. I recently moved to another apartment complex and when I attempted to ship a Christmas present from Groupon it told me my address could not be found. I have had to contact FOUR customer service representative - two through calls and two through emails with IT and my issues has not been resolved. If anything I am more upset and frustrated.

The emails IT sent me are generic copy and paste responses telling me I should check my address with USPS since it's apparently connected to their website. Well USPS has my address on there. Another suggestion on these generic emails and by a representative says I should just mail my package to a relative or friend... Are you kidding me? I want my packages sent to my OWN HOME! Come on people you are a multi million dollar company. Get it together!!!

When I went to get monogrammed on website purchased from I could not use both certificates at once. I had to order them separately. The first order I placed shipping and handling was $22.90. The second order I placed shipping and handling was $12.95. Why so different. I do not know. It is the exact same purchase (2 Mason jars). So I ended up paying $20 for the Groupon and $35.85 S/H. That is a total of $74.85 for 4 Mason Jars. I looked on the Groupon website before purchasing and it said nothing about having to pay S/H. I figured I would have to, but never realized it would be this much. Very disappointed all around. I will never ever do GROUPON again. It would have been cheaper to buy directly from website, because of the 20% off coupon I could have used. PISSED OFF EX-CUSTOMER.

I ordered something on Groupon as a birthday present 4 weeks ago today. I took into account all of the appropriate time allotments for prepping and shipping in order to receive the product by a certain date. Those came and went with the only update I received on the tracking being "Preparing to Ship" dated the day after I placed the order. After waiting for over two weeks for the product to even ship, I messaged Groupon on their online customer service. I was met with scripted apologies and a joke of an answer for why my product hadn't been shipped: "I'm so sorry for the trouble. Unfortunately, your order has been delayed and we don't currently have any updates on the expected delivery of your product. We are still working with the business to resolve these issues, but at this point we're unable to provide a time frame for the arrival of your shipment."

They offered me a refund. When I tried to discuss that I just wanted the product, they gave me the SAME template. Finally I got them to give me a number to call. They convinced me to cancel my current order, get the amount refunded onto my Groupon account, and then reorder the same product assuring me that they hadn't had any further problems with shipping since October 28th (this was November 7th). The guy I spoke with on the phone was literally the only redeeming factor of this entire ordeal and told me to check back with them if it hadn't been marked shipped sighting two days.

Fast forward two days. Hadn't shipped. When I called (I now have the Groupon customer service number saved in my phone), they told me that the shopping window hadn't expired and I would need to wait even longer to call. Called back yesterday (November 17th) and was told once again; "I'm so sorry for the trouble. Unfortunately, your order has been delayed and we don't currently have any updates on the expected delivery of your product. We are still working with the business to resolve these issues, but at this point we're unable to provide a time frame for the arrival of your shipment." WHAT?? They send me on to the Groupon Goods department, which is apparently a step up from customer service, and tell me that I should receive word from them within 1-2 business days.

The email I got today was that EXACT same template that I had gotten both electronically AND verbally three times before. When I emailed back asking for a phone number to contact the rep that had emailed me, I received an email informing me that my order had been cancelled and my money refunded to my Groupon account. Needless to say, I called once again, spoke to two more people who offered scripted apologies and little to no help. They tried to convince me to keep my money in my Groupon account "for future use", to which I laughed at, and informed them there would be no future use of their website.

In the end, I do get my money back to my card which shouldn't have even been a question from the start. I will not use their site again and I will tell anyone who asks that they shouldn't either. One thing I know is that word of mouth is the most effective form of marketing. The ironic thing, the same gift on the providers website is the same price as Groupon.

My experience with Groupon customer support is beyond surreal. I contacted them for help with a merchant (best tours) that has zero customer support as well. This was fri. After 30 mins on phone, agent says he cannot help me and would escalate my issue to a Groupon escalation specialist? I would receive an answer with 24 to 72 hours. Yesterday, I received an email from a support agent who totally misunderstood the issue, clearly did not want to deal with anything negative about this merchant and told me I would hear from the merchant in 3 days. I told her it was a moot point as I had already rescheduled the tour. NEVER did I ask for a refund.

So another agent writes back saying that to make me happy, she gave me $40 in Groupon bucks. At first I thought that was a good thing until I realized she had merely refunded and canceled my tour! So now I have a scheduled tour, but have no proof of the Groupon. How incompetent. I've since sent 3 emails asking to cancel the bucks and put the tour back on my Groupons. I am told that is not possible. So instead of helping me Groupon has made the situation worse causing me more time. In addition the 'specialist' wrote that I can repurchase the tour (at more than twice the price) and to "ENJOY". What??? This is a sad state when businesses outsource their customer training and provide zero training.

My daughter forwarded me a photo and a link to a GREAT looking Christmas tree and an even GREATER offer for the tree: 7.5 Ft. Dunhill Fir Christmas Tree with White or Multicolored Lights... $179.99 (Additional $40 discount 11/14 (typed in RED) under the price for the tree.) The both of us got together later that evening (11/14) to order the trees before the "SPECIAL OFFER EXPIRED". I clicked the "BUY" button and my daughter did the same on her tablet. Before I completed the transaction, I saw that there was also a Groupon $10 coupon so I went to check it out. My daughter completed her order and let me know that the $40 discount did not show up on the purchase receipt. So I decided to not complete my purchase to investigate what was going on. Well as you may suspect something is SERIOUSLY wrong. My poor daughter's total for this fiasco ended up being ONE HUNDRED NINETY TWO DOLLARS!!!!!

Because of my daughter's occupation, she could not call and complain herself so she gave me the info and I called. NOW let me say that it has been a long time since I ordered from Groupon and I must confess I have been a GROUPON FAN. Anytime I had an issue with anything the customer service was STELLAR! Making the call to inquire about the discrepancy with the tree order, I couldn't believe that I was speaking with a Groupon Representative. Her communication with me was beyond impersonal with a heavy dose of disinterest. It seemed from our transfer of information she just would have preferred to cancel the order. After going over the situation SEVERAL times, I asked to speak with a Supervisor and this is what I was told: CSR: "I have a Supervisor but she is on the phone". I told her that I would wait. CSR: "She's on the phone." So I took that as a cue to not expect a Supervisor to talk to me.

FACT 1: THERE WAS an offer under the price on that site stating that 11/14 was the deadline for the Additional 40$ savings on the tree. By the time I could get someone to respond from Groupon I kept getting the "well it's not on the offer now and the price is $219 now." I believe that Groupon knows there was an offer for this additional discount, come on, SOMEBODY ordered this tree and got that discount unless there is a multiplicity of like complaints.

FACT 2: There was an additional GROUPON $10 discount for spending at least $25 that my daughter did not receive. I simply believe that "there is a DEAD CAT on the line" with this situation. I really would feel badly to think that Groupon cheats and lies because I have never ever had one single concern with any transactions between Groupon and myself in the past. I just don't like ANYONE trying to make me think that I didn't see what I saw or didn't understand what was written. I hold a higher education degree and my daughter has 3 to her credit. I am certain between the two of us being proficient in reading and understanding WHAT we have read, the mistake is not ours to own.

Final observation: I do not believe that Groupon will care about this situation as indicated by the reaction and action of their Consumer Representative I communicated with but I intend to put this experience on all media so that others will proceed with caution when on the Groupon site. It is always a good thing to share negative experiences, not for the purpose of causing harm but to make the INNOCENT buyer more purchasing process vigilant on these retail sites. Thank you for your time.

Purchased a High End TV through Groupon last Tuesday. The ad read that they delivered to your door within 48 hours after purchase. It's been a week, and the item hasn't even been shipped! Their trucking company states that it's not even in their warehouse for pick up, so they can't ship, or deliver it. I wasn't being impossible about the fact that it's taken longer than is stated on their wall, but my main tv blew out, and I have relatives coming for the holiday. Groupon tells me that the information that is clearly visible on their wall is a discrepancy, on their part, and refuse to be held accountable for it, but on the other hand are holding my feet to the fire on their "7 business day window" which is in fine print somewhere in their contract.

They refused to give me my money back, and expect me to wait another 70 some odd hours until they can get some real info on when the product would actually be shipped! Now they're offering some compensation points, like they will actually make up for my entire family coming for a holiday with nowhere to watch football! My next stop... the attorney general's office!

I was standing in the salon ready to use the coupon. The salon, however, refused to give me a receipt for the cash I was handing over to pay the tax. There is no dispute with having to pay the tax. However, the business IS required to provide a receipt (and for, especially, cash.)

I phoned Groupon 'support' from the salon. Two reps hung up during our conversation. I called the 3rd time, and Sheila reiterated the pat response of 'after 3 days there are no refunds.' With all my 'buts', and 'I do want the service', and 'I just want a receipt to acknowledge payment'... the same 'support' was repeated: no refund. On emails back and forth they keep sending the same no refund response. I then requested they credit my account. Same response: no refund. So they are allowing me to be out of pocket for requesting documentation of tax payment from their service providers. It is the responsibility of the business to give me receipt of payment. They provide NO support once you have released your payment. I will never use GROUPON again.

All credit cards were either expired or deactivated, so the charges that were attempted were unable to be processed. On 11/12/2016, I requested that the purchases be canceled, deleted all credit card info and changed my password. On 11/12/2016, I also contacted Groupon to let them know this had occurred. The lady that responded said she would be happy to help me and told me that it was likely I had left my account open on a shared computer and someone else had placed the orders after I left. I told her that I had not left my account open on a computer, that in fact I hadn't even used Groupon since 2013 and I don't have a computer right now as I'm currently moving.

She then said she needed info about the charges: the type of credit card that was used, billing address, last four numbers of the credit card, expiration date, amount of the charges, date of the charges and the name on my billing statement (for who was paid). I gave her everything that I could, but I also explained that I didn't have the expiration date of the credit card that was used because it was active.

Discover sent me a new card several years ago due to possible fraud on my account. I no longer have the credit card that was stored in my Groupon account because it was deactivated and I don't know what the expiration date was. She would not listen to me. I had to explain 3 times that I don't know the expiration date of that credit card, that it wasn't even active. The only thing she did do that I requested was close my account. I still have no answers as to why or how this happened. And based on her comments to me, I don't believe that she took me seriously. It's a good thing that the only credit card info I had stored in Groupon was for credit cards that had been deactivated, or this situation would have been much worse.

When I got to Key West, I inquired about the dive on the vendor phone on two separate days. On day one, it was rainy and very windy and the person I spoke to on the phone suggested trying to do it tomorrow. I called back the next day and inquired further about the 2-hour diving experience. I wanted to know for sure it meant getting into the ocean for the 2 hours and told it did not. It only included some video about scuba diving, putting on the scuba equipment and splashing around in a pool, after all it said no certification required, even though I pointed out I'm already a certified open water diver. So I did not schedule it and assumed I would just get my money refunded once I returned home. WRONG!

I bought 3 Groupon for a restaurant in Bluffton, SC that I was able to visit once and use one of the coupons before Hurricane Matthew hit the area and severely damaged the local community and its businesses. My coupons expired about a week after the hurricane hit and the business I purchased the coupons for had not reopened for business due to damage, flooding, tree damage, etc. I asked Groupon for a refund since I was not able to use the coupons during the time period since the business had not reopened for several weeks due to the hurricane. Groupon's lame response was that they were sorry that the "weather problems" caused me not to be able to use the coupon and there was nothing they could do. I then appealed to higher levels of management and after over a week was told that they would not do anything after 3 days after the expiration of the coupon.

Haven't these people ever heard about the damage that a hurricane does? Where do they live? I found their attitude totally unreasonable, inflexible, bureaucratic and insulting. Last time I will ever use the Groupon service and I would advise everyone else to be "buyer beware" and don't expect this company to demonstrate any flexibility or business acumen when circumstances beyond anyone's control interfere with the use of the coupon! They have lost this customer for life and I will encourage everyone I speak to do the same.

You would need to take photos and communicate with them before you are approved. I wasn't approved because of my wisdom tooth that was still coming in. I called Groupon to cancel my Smile direct club and they wouldn't let me because it was pass the 3 day window mark of their return policy. Smile Direct Club takes more than 3 days to process information. So its pretty stupid how they have this return policy. Now I'm stuck with something I bought I cannot use. Groupon return policy sucks. Bad customer service over the phone. All they care about is sucking in your money.

Many times the merchants that advertise with Groupon just want to generate more business with new customers. However more times than not for some reason there is a lot of information that is incorrect in even reaching that merchant or maybe not everything is exactly as it was written. So unfortunately you just bought a "groupon" & have to write to (or call) Groupon, communicate with inexperienced customer service reps who usually copy a generic response (that doesn't even answer your question because they didn't read your e-mail) or reads from a script. "I'm sorry for your inconvenience & (if you are within a time frame) I'll see if I can refund your money", that almost never is a refund but a credit so you need to use Groupon.

I have had SO many issues escalated because the employees just didn't want to do any work. The last issues were for 2 spas that 1 I left several messages & never got a response back so couldn't make an appointment. The other one they didn't have a nail tech on staff & didn't know if/when they would have one again but it was advertised that nail appointments would be available. I called Groupon about both issues over & over again, they "refunded...gave me Groupon bucks" for these & really upset because I got them at a discount, so what I planned on getting-a facial & pedicure, now I could not get 2 services for the money I got back! I was lucky to find one place for a facial for that amount & no places in my area but that 1 had pedicures. I was told to check back with Groupon because they were going to try to resolve the issues with those spas.

More than a week later, several phone calls & e-mails back & forth (to reps who again don't read messages & reply with a generic response that has NOTHING to do with what you asked), I made one last call. I solved their escalated calls to BOTH spas in less than 24 hours, when they had them in the "escalated" department for well over a week! I called because they needed to know the truth & I was a very fair person who had already spoken very badly about both places. Since I did Groupon's job for them (not the first time, not the second...

Hate to say I've done their job for MANY years already) & certain reps I spoke with told me that the special department would be making a call directly to the spa & he even said he shouldn't be telling me this..I tried to let him know ANYONE could call the spa directly, it's not a secret & he still insisted that Groupon had a "secret" number to call. Clearly I had to prove him wrong when I called the secret direct line to the spa & even spoke with the "secret" spa manager to let her know what had been going on first when I tried to make an appointment & then everything that followed.

Groupon's employees really just do not know what they are doing, nor do they seem to care, people like myself who end up doing their job in a few calls even though they all just keep passing the buck-which in the end both the customer AND the merchant lose out! I have finally spent my last Groupon dollar & for years I have given them chances to "make all their mistakes up to me", & the past years they actually seemed to want to but every year I see/hear things get worse & worse. Now they don't even want to, the apologies are always the same "sorry for your inconvenience" & that's IT! They don't even want to make it up to you or try to make it better. It's hey, we are sorry so take it or leave it. I'm leaving it now! I was a loyal Groupon customer for well over ten years & now I'm a loyal Groupon customer service advocate against using them because people need to be warned!

If you do not make enough noise about your issue, you won't even get your money back & they won't blink an eye about keeping your money. If you saw the law suit about their expiration dates you know what I mean. It was a HUGE class action suit...they have different expiration dates for their Groupons & that isn't right! If you bought something at a discount, unless that place is going out of business why should Groupon make you use something you PAID for as quickly as a little over a month? Nothing should have an expiration date on it, if you bought something at a store at a discount, it is still yours isn't it? If they are doing it to generate a new business, that business is still going to want a new customer from the time they open until they are not in business anymore.

Many places do have in the fine print for "new customers" only & there is nothing wrong with that. The business can put whatever restrictions they want on it & it's up to the customer to make sure to read it & that they are ok with all the terms. It's when everything is in writing & sounds good but next thing you know you call the place for weeks, start looking it up online everywhere & you start seeing people writing things like the restaurant has been closed for over 2 months now! Yet Groupon is STILL selling it to people like there is no problem! Groupon has a LOT of problems! Naturally I can't put an order #, I'd have too many to put in...

After 9 days I requested a dispatch confirmation of the product and was told that there was no shopping advice for it that I should give it a couple of days for the item to arrive. After 2 weeks I asked for confirmation that the item was shipped and asked where it was and was told that in the fine print it stated it would take 3 weeks to arrive (which I could not find anywhere). Then after 3 weeks I requested someone actually look into this and was told that this product was unavailable for dispatch. They offered a refund or Groupon credits (of course I requested a refund). It took them 6 days to process my refund and then told me it would take 7-10 days for the money to show in my account. So basically Groupon took my money for almost 6 weeks in total and I have nothing to show!!!

Only 120 tickets were sold up to that point per the online website when ordering (although a manager said hundreds were sold), and was given almost the last row for seating at the venue. Called MULTIPLE TIMES, was lied to repeatedly saying Ticket Master was responsible for the seating arrangements when in fact Groupon is.

Was told by one person at Groupon that I should have been given row F seats but instead was given row T, but after given the run around for an entire month after many calls and e-mails I finally spoke to a manager who told me there is nothing that can be done. No refund will be given. No other seating arrangements can be made. She said when ordering G tickets the seats are handed out randomly no matter when you order the tickets, so in my case many people ordering after I did got better seats obviously. I will NEVER purchase G tickets through Groupon again and warn anyone thinking about doing this to think twice.

The Groupon experience was a complete nightmare for me. As I should have guessed, inferior and/or struggling companies are represented, so the websites are frustrating and outdated. Three different sites kicked my Groupon code out over and over again - some added each attempt at purchase to my cart, so if I hadn't noticed, I would have been credited for one item and paid for the others.

I was very, very nervous about giving my credit card number for the shipping charges. One site doesn't even have a space to enter a Groupon code, only their own club code. My Groupon gets rejected. To my great dismay, I have purchased several Groupons because of an additional discount offer. I dread wasting anymore time trying to cash them in!!! Do yourself a favor: go to RetailMeNot and shop with familiar vendors. Your time is worth money, and I've wasted HOURS now. I wonder what will happen when I take the print-out coupons to an actual location. Yikes.

They resolved this issue. I still could use Groupon and they are supposed to return money to my credit card. For time spent on the phone with them??? I got nothing!!! The latest issue is pretty big. Somehow they messed up my two accounts and two emails (I didn't even know I had 2 accounts as I didn't open a second one). I bought tickets for Halloween show (Groupon was expiring that day). It said my Groupon was ready to view/print. Next day I received the email (by the way, I received emails about this issue on both my email addresses) that they had issue with my card and couldn't charge it, and that they would try again in one day. I went to my account the same day and made sure my card was updated, and it was.

The next day I received email saying they couldn't charge it again. I called them, and spoke with Chris (rep) and Jenna (supervisor). They had no clue how it happened (two accounts, messed up emails, credit cards). They ended up merging them. Guess what? The deal was not available anymore. They just said sorry. They couldn't help. I had to go to Live Nations site and pay $56 for 2 tickets, instead of $18 on Groupon. What a rip off!!! I've been a Groupon customer for few years, but don't think I'm going to use them again. I mean, learn the basics of customer service, Groupon! Very disappointed!!!

I clicked on the option to reset my password, whereupon I got an email saying I didn't even have an account. When I tried to open a new account, I got an error message saying I already had an account with my email address.

Clicked on help, described the problem and got an email from customer service asking me to verify my credit card and which "charges" I was disputing. Clearly a cut & paste response from someone who hadn't even read and/or comprehended the problem. I re-stated the problem, sent it off and the next day got another email saying they couldn't help me unless I provided the information asked for previously: the credit card I had on file and the "charge" I was disputing.

I again stated I could not remember which credit card I had on file, had not placed an order in a long while, was not disputing any charges and that my actual problem was that I could not access my account, not create a new account. Two days later, got another email from a different Groupon customer service rep, which was an exact duplicate of the first email, asking for my credit card info and "charges" I was disputing. I explained the situation a third time. That was three days ago. Haven't had any contact from them since. So long, Groupon.

I needed a place to stay last night! I was standing in the lobby! My biggest complaint is the fact that I was not notified by Groupon that the charge didn't go through and that my reservation was canceled. I was asking for a credit for a defective purse. He just kept saying it was over 14 days and the purse could not be returned and no credit available. I received an email on October 6 saying they did not understand my problem. I, again, stated my problem. I received another email on October 8, with the same rhetoric, but also telling me to read the "Fine Print" section. I did that - it does not say anything about defective merchandise! I even sent pictures. I received another email on October 9 that stated "I can confirm that all of your comments have been anonymously passed on to all relevant departments." I replied and asked if I would be hearing from the relevant departments.

Another email on the 10th - "If your order arrives damaged or defective, you can always return it within 14 days of delivery. Unfortunately, we're not in a position to guarantee our products outside of that window and cannot assist with a refund at this point. You can visit http://gr.pn/GoodsReturns to read more about our return policy." Return policy - "Eligibility: You can return a Groupon Goods item within 14 days of delivery unless otherwise stated in the Fine Print. Items marked Final Sale cannot be returned." Nothing about defective merchandise. I asked if they actually had a defective merchandise policy - no answer, no return, no credit. BUYER BEWARE!! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - All out of country and they can't do anything and no one else will contact you. No other phone number.

I have ordered a service online. Tried using Groupon for cleaning vents and ducts unlimited with 83% discount offer, full unlimited service for 1 unit $40 and 2nd A/C unit $49 total $90. The guys came in and charged me and said what I pay thru Groupon don't pay there and they will come and charge me in person via credit card. And they checked my furnaces and said all clear, no issue, looks awesome. I don't need cleaning and they wrapped up their equipment.

All the time I was with them they did nothing and just opened the furnace and saw it good condition. They came downstairs and billed me full saying work is done. I said they did not do anything and why charging full amount. In this way they cheated me doing or giving no service and charged me 2 units fee for nothing. I ordered by calling the below link company but they used the other company and sent two guys.

I am crying, I have spoke to 8 people in the last two days, and have had my card charged twice. I found an x box on sale from 250 to 200, refurbished. I jumped at the chance to order it. I placed the order with a 10 off coupon making the order come to 200 with shipping. I get an email saying the order is declined because my credit card didn't match the person I was shipping it to (it was a gift for my fiance).

I call in and ask, "what's up" and they said they can only talk to him and there's nothing I can do since it was declined and I cannot reorder. I found the group on was still available on the site so I called in again, this time they said if I got my fiance to call, he could use my credit card. I made him call, he explained the situation and this is the fourth rep, she said it would go through, she updated the info and said good to go, and I will get a confirmation email in 24 hours. I didn't get any email.

I talked to someone on their chat who was very rude and refused me a credit. Our interaction went like this: Me - "Hi there, I'm wondering if I can get an update on the x box order, as I didn't get my 24 hour confirmation email." Them- "Ok ma'am I cancelled that order for you." "EXCUSE ME? I never asked you to cancel it." And they just asked me to repurchase it 3 more times and said, "There isn't anything I can do." So now I have 4 orders, 3 refunded.

I call customer service one more time, they say, "Okay - I'll credit you the difference so you get it at the price when you purchased it during the sale." She only credited me because I was profusely crying and she could tell how upset I was. Because it takes them 10 days to refund the card I didn't have enough on the card to repurchase it. I said okay sounds good, I repurchased it and it said it would automatically use the 65 dollar group on bucks she added to the account. I drove to the bank immediately, and broke open my savings piggy bank to get the money in the account to pay for it. I thought it would go through and then I would be refunded the earlier order and everything was golden. Wrong. It's now 1 am, I get an email saying it was declined and its because the bill charged me the full amount and did not use my group on bucks as initially promised.

So I tried to reorder it one more time and then it said, "Order cannot be processed, contact a customer sales rep." This makes 8 reps so far, and I can't seem to order this x box even though there is the correct money on the account. Their system doesn't automatically charge for the group on bucks. It's ridiculous. I am so frustrated and beyond angry.

The package required signature upon delivery and even though USPS should have checked for ID, someone signed and stole the package while I was at work. Unlockblock's fine print states that they are responsible for following through with the delivery of the product but after much difficulty contacting them, they stated that it's my problem and I should deal with USPS. I have several tickets open with Groupon to attempt to get a refund but am often sent to overseas customer service and get default answers such as "work with 3rd party merchant". Groupon runs the Groupon goods store and needs to have some skin in the game to help ensure the merchants do what they promise and need to provide refunds when customers do not get their products.

I recently just booked a wine tour with Groupon. I have many complaints about the service and experience I had. Initial when I was looking for a over night trip, I knew I wanted to stay in Niagara Falls. I found a Groupon that stated "1 night stay at the Old Stone Inn, and 3 wine tasting experiences". I thought I was getting an amazing deal for only $154.00, so I booked it. When I received my credit card bill a couple of weeks later, I was surprised to see my $154.00 turned into $220.00. I assume the price that was advertised online was in US??? This surprising is not my complaint! A couple of days before heading down for my mini vacation, I decided to call the hotel to confirm if I needed to plan ahead and book any of these wine tasting tours.

I spoke with a lady who assured me, I don't need to reserve anything, and I can just go to the wineries "whenever" I wanted to. So...I left for my trip Saturday afternoon, looking forward to spending the evening tasting wine. When I arrived at my hotel, I was told check in was not until 4 pm. I decided to take a walk to the falls and enjoy the afternoon. When I returned to the Old Stone Inn, I was told I had to pay $20 for parking! And also $5 for their WIFI? Hummm okay? I was given 3 coupons for my wine tasting and was told to call the wineries to "book" and schedule my tours!!! Didn't I call a couple of days prior to this to confirm I didn't have to do this. I went up to my hotel, which by the way was a disaster! (I will do another review on the hotel itself) and started looking online and calling the wineries.

I was told all of them ran from 11 am - 6 pm roughly, and I would not be able to do any of them that night. To no surprise I was very upset. There was no communication surrounding this and also there was no shuttle bus to take me to these tours the next day. What is the point of booking a wine tasting tour if you have to drive yourself there and back? Groupon did not do a good job at all explaining all of these on their website and setting expectations for their customers. This is the first time I have ever booked a mini trip on Groupon and ensure you it will be my last!

When I found Groupon, I thought what a great idea. Unfortunately then I tried to utilize their service. It is horrible on goods. Goods are shipped via Federal Express to the local post office for delivery. It does not work well at all. It is considered delivered when it hits the local post office leaving you to wonder where's my stuff. But, unlike many other online retailers, they make you interrupt your neighbors lives by asking if they've seen your stuff, ask your building personnel if they have your stuff and check behind bushes or other hiding places where your goods may have been placed. This is ridiculous.

Further attempting to speak with a customer service person is fraught with overseas operators who are not native English speakers who may be very polite, but are not helpful whatsoever. Only through direct threats of contacting your credit card company, the better business bureau, the FBI and local police were credits issued. Now, you have a credit, but you have to use it with their site. Argh. Someone needs to bring a class action lawsuit.

Groupon offers a coupon for 4 at "La Patagonia Argentina" in NW Miami. This coupon costs $44.00. It is supposed to be a $42.00 savings for what should be a "Parillada" for 4 people plus 4 small side dishes of approximately $3.00 each. In the dinner menu, each Parillada costs $16.95, they do not say if this Parillada is for 2 or 4 people in the menu, but if you ask they will tell you it is for 1 person, but could easily feed 2. Bottom line, what they do give you is TWO $16.95 Parilladas (not 4) plus 4 small side dishes. This has a value of $45.90, not $86 as advertised in their add. On top of that you end up over tipping, because you based your tip on the advertised $86.00 and you only got $45.90 worth of food. It was a definite rip-off.

No number could be found but the website took me to a "Help Wizard" which walked me through so I could submit a request to cancel. A week later I went to follow-up on my refund and actually found a phone number. I called and they will not refund because it had to be done the same day of purchase (which I did) and they did not show that I ever tried to cancel. No help.

Then I went online to buy another ticket directly from a ticket vendor. Unfortunately, I can't buy the 2nd ticket without knowing where the seat is for the ticket I got through Groupon. Called Groupon again and they said they can't tell me where the seat is because the ticket is not actually created until 2 days before the performance. I switched banks almost two weeks prior to contacting Groupon for a refund. I switched from JP Morgan Chase bank to Bank of America and I also updated that information in my Groupon account. Chase also assured me that any funds sent to Chase will be immediately returned to the merchant. I have a series of e-mails from Groupon constantly insisting that Chase has my funds. I keep trying to explain that my refund was sent back to Groupon and Groupon keeps telling me that it's not.

These e-mails back and forth continued for almost a week and a half. I just received an e-mail from them stating that they will just issue me "Groupon Bucks" which is not how I paid for my Groupon. All I want is my original form of payment back onto my updated account information as they have assured me, and in a timely fashion. This has gone on too long and I should be able to receive my refund as quickly as they processed it. They take the money immediately, but hassle to return it if services are not rendered. Well none of that has worked and when I get back to say that does not work they either stop communicating with me or tell me their tech team is on it and then I do not hear back. Other people are able to get their groupons on the same computers I can't so I know it is a specific problem with my account. I have told Groupon this several times and I get ignored. My second call made it to a supervisor who could not authorize refunds... Not sure what good getting a supervisor was if he can't even do that... but anyway he said he was going to escalate it and call me back and once again mid sentence we got disconnected. I tried live chat, no one was available, tried calling, the phone just kept riding, so I emailed them and they responded an hour later telling me to contact my bank. I contacted my bank and they told me that my card was declined and that the payment was canceled so I should try to make the purchase again, which I did. The second time around I had no issues making the payment, I received a confirmation email for 1 mattress set and thought that was the end of it. I woke up the next day to a second confirmation email for a second mattress that was processed at 1 AM which obviously I did not make.

The mattress was shipped to me within 11 days and once I received them I called Groupon customer service once again, explaining my situation for the 12th time, kept getting put on hold and finally was told that they were just waiting on approval and that I would be receiving my return label within 48 hours as well as being assured I would receive my refund. 48 hours went by and I received nothing, so I called again, got the same thing. Waited 48 more hours and called them back. The last person I spoke with informed me that there is nothing that they can do for me because the mattress was a final sale item and the manufacturer refuses to take it back. I tried contacting my bank to dispute the charge, but the bank can't help me because I am still in possession of the product and if I return it to them I will not only have to pay out of pocket but will not get reimbursed for the shipping costs. Groupon had a coupon for a Motorola 360 watch that I tried to buy with 2 days delivery. It is now 4 days later and the watch I ordered will be delivered on Monday August 29. A full 6 days passed when they stated it would be delivered. Normally, I would not be too concerned, but I am traveling and so I will not be available to receive the package that I bought and will not be returning for several days. The issue is that Groupon stated 2 day shipping when I placed the order, but the reality is they are shipping it on a 10 day schedule. I would have never placed the order if I would have known that they cannot ship for 10 days. In my opinion, Groupon flat out lied in their ad. It seems they never had any intention of meeting the ship date they stated in the ad.

I swear I wish I could give them negative stars. I purchased 2 items on Groupon and had to order on this company's website, which I went ahead and did. They sent me 1 broken item and not even the correct item and the other item was not even what I ordered. I have emailed this company, facebooked this company, Facebook messaged this company and called this company without any response. According to others posts on their Facebook page, this seems to be par for the course. What kind of racket are these people running???

The only reason I am writing this review is because of how upset over how the whole Groupon system is setup. Let me explain. So I own a business that helps with back pain. What we do is very different and innovative. So, I decided to try Groupon to get more traffic thru the door, and for more folks to try our program. First off, I was not able to setup the ad post as I would like to. I wanted to put something with "back pain" in the title, but they wouldn't let me because it's "against their editorial style". So, instead they just put "Personal Training sessions". The title is crucial, because we are not a gym, but were in part portrayed as one.

Second, the whole payment agreement is a ripoff. The way they have it setup is: You have 2, 4, or 6 sessions (in our situation). I will use the 6 sessions as an example. 6 sessions normally cost $222. They mark it down by about 60-80%. Ours ended up costing about $65 (which is less than how much 2 sessions cost). Next, they would take 50% of that for themselves (that left us with about $32.50) PLUS they charge a "transaction fee" of about 3%. So, in the end, we went from $222 to $22.90!!! That is just ridiculous! We were just making them money. The unfortunate part was that most of the people buying the Groupon were our current customers. About 40% were new.

Now about how we got our money. They keep 20% of your revenue until the end of the ad run (about 3-4 months I believe). They pay you on the 3rd and 17th of each month (at least those were the dates for us). We ended up canceling the ad 1 month ago, after just getting a few Groupon sold. Now we have to wait two months to get the rest of our payments. Super inefficient for us as a small business.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND GROUPON to any business. For consumers, it's a bargain! But, it's at the expense of the business. They make virtually almost nothing. The owner of the restaurant next door told me that he refused to signup with Groupon when they solicited him because he would be losing a lot of money.

Now the single good part about our experience: Some of the people that came in with Groupon continued afterwards with the program (about 3-4 people). Overall, it was a horrible experience though. We lost money and valuable time, doing sessions for pretty much free! Disappointed and don't know why Groupon would be ripping off businesses like this. Like I said, for consumers it's great! but for businesses, I don't see the positives at all. You are better off reaching thousands of people through Facebook ads and offer your own promotions. A very disappointed Business Owner.

My wife and I purchased a Groupon hotel room night at the Lancaster Host Resort in Lancaster, PA. After driving for most part of the day, we arrived at the hotel at 8 pm (EST), all set to have a shower and get some sleep. To our utter shock, we were told by the Front Desk, that they were not receiving guests, as they did not have AC or running hot water. They could not call us ahead of time and warn us, as Groupon had not shared our contact details with them. We were now asked to contact Groupon and ask to be booked at another hotel. It was 8.00 pm EST. We called Groupon and the agent at the telephone number 1-888-664-4482 heard us out and said that she was unable to help, as she was from another department. She said she would transfer us to the 'Getaways' department. She did, and we got the voicemail, which said that they were closed for the day.

We called again and now explained to the agent that we needed help - she promised to connect us to a 'live agent'. Once again, she put the call through, and after being kept on hold for 5 minutes, somebody at the other end, hung up. Now, tired and frustrated, we had no option but to accept the compassionate gesture of the hotel to have us checked in to a room anyway. A room that had no AC and running hot water. Certainly, not what we paid for. On our return, we emailed Groupon and explained everything to them. Other than the 'standard corporate mail' we received no refund or compensation from them. It has been more than 5 days.

I had purchased a phone from them that was not very useful in the US due to it being a Japanese phone and not having the right bands to operate at 4G LTE. I wrote a review pointing this out and they censored it. I guess they don't like to let the cat out of the bag when they're trying to deceive their customers! It is highly unethical what they did and I will never trust them again to provide me a quality product. TERRIBLE!

I purchased 6 bras from Groupon. They were late arriving. Then after only wearing 2 of them twice, the under wire broke through. Then 2 of 6 bras were 3-4 inches smaller than advertised and unwearable. All of the 4 that I could wear the under wire broke through within the week. Groupon said all sales are final no refunds or exchanges. Will never use again!

I am very aware that Groupon states when you make your purchase that you have 14 days to return your item. I understand that if you decide you don't like the item or if it doesn't meet your expectations. However, the item I purchased says very clearly that it has a 1 year warranty. The item is still being sold and clearly still states that it has a 1 year warranty. It stopped working after 5 months so I contacted Groupon and received an email stating that they on allow 14 days for returns so there is nothing they can do for me. That is leaning towards false advertising and I won't be making any further purchases from Groupon.

Today I found out that somehow 3 of an item was ordered instead of 2. Since the items will not be sent until 8/24 I thought there would be no problem canceling 1. Not what I was told. Will have to wait until I receive the item send it back then wait till they get it then wait till they refund me. Was on the phone for over a half hour. They have lost a regular customer.

All you people can understand what is my problem when reading below which I have sent to their customer service. I'm glad finally I got some response and thank you for that. How many more day's do I need to wait to get my package? If I can get this before 24th, then it's ok to ship to the address I provided, if not please refund it to my credit card which I used to purchase. Also I would like to point out some bad experiences when I deal with your customer service people and I think you can share this with your management to show how bad is your customer service. I don't remember or they didn't mentioned their name who assist me, but see below how they respond to me.

11th Thursday I spoke with a lady with southern accent and she was totally mislead me. She asked me to call FedEx and check because my package was sent to a different address and she said that is FedEx problem. When I contact Fedex, they said they're not responsible for making shipping labels and they just doing delivery part. And then I called to your customer service and talked to the same lady and she said, "then it may be our shipping department problem and it will take another 3 days to investigate." Do I need to wait another 3 days until they investigate their internal problems after I waited 14 days?

Not only that, that lady didn't even bother to gave me a ticket number if it created and I didn't even receive one single email that saying "we made a mistake and will be correct it soon." If I didn't send message through my Groupon account, I may still not receive any email. It seems like this lady hired only for that day just to answer a phone calls, as she don't have any idea about your shipping and handling process.

12th Friday again I called to your customer service because I didn't get any respond within 24 hours as previous lady has said. This time some Asian accented lady was answered the phone and she make my nerve. She's was so stupid than previous lady. She was asking me to check with neighbors whether they have received my package. See how stupid that lady are, if she pulled my order details already she can clearly see what is my shipping address and what is my billing address. This was sent to a totally different address and she's asking me to check with my neighbor's. Please educate that lady how is the things going on states. Maybe she can go door to door in her country and ask about the packages, but not in USA. Also after I explain my situation, she's saying, "sir please tell me again what happen???" I was hang up the phone because there is no pointing to talk with a lady who can't understand what I'm talking.

Considering overall situation, it's ashamed that you people can't deliver two items which is placed as an one order. I'm shopping on Groupon because I'm not searching cheap stuff, even though it's a expensive item, I might buy because I like it and I like to shop some deals. Take this as a lesson and improve your customer service and delivery services if you want to keep customers with you. I'm not sure I'll shop with Groupon in the future and I do not recommend your site to anyone. As an unhappy customer I will definitely put my experience on Google reviews.
