Would never recommend Angi to any contractor. They are nothing but a scam. I signed up for a one-year contract at $400 per month because they promised I’d get quality leads and jobs. Seven months later, I never received a single job. Every time I called to explain the situation, they brushed me off and never fixed the issue. I finally canceled, only for them to try and charge me another $600. I’ve been a contractor for over 10 years, and this is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with a lead service. Do not waste your money. You’re literally paying for nothing.

I am looking for a surveyor to provide drawings of my property for the purpose of installing a manufactured home there. Angi put me in touch with Skytech-geo. They are not responsive nor are they knowledgeable in this field. I am disappointed with the service that both Angi and the incompetent Skytech-geo has provided. After spending $470 and waiting for nearly two months I still have nothing useful from them. And Angi makes it difficult to review their service.

Updated on 10/15/2025: Absolutely awful experience. Contractor I picked did a bad job and working with Angi has been a horrible experience. They are so slow to answer, I can’t actually talk with a customer resolution person on the phone and they stated they would take the contractor off the platform and never did.
Original Review: Awful experience with this contractor. I reached out to customer service, and they responded with an email stating a claim had been filed. Since then, I’ve heard nothing further—no updates, no calls, complete silence. This lack of communication is unprofessional and incredibly frustrating, leaving me with unresolved issues and no confidence in their service.

I was defrauded $7700 by a contractor I got through Angi. Angi tried to contact him without success. They said sorry. Next time Home Depot contractors will get my business. You would think with all the money Angi makes, they would step up and reimburse this 81 year old man that just wanted his rental property bathroom remodeled for the benefit of his renter who gets below market rent to make it affordable. No good deed goes unpunished.

I purchased a ceiling fan from Lowe’s for my son’s room and had an electrician from Angi's put it in. The day after it was installed the light stopped working and the electrician stopped answering my calls even though he said he would come take a look. Angi sent out another electrician a week later to replace the fan. This electrician placed a hole in my ceiling and now Angi wants me to get an estimate of damages before they will fix the hole in my newborn's room. Never again will I work with them. They outsource their customer service and I can never reach anyone that can actually make things happen. More of a hassle. I should have put the fan in myself.

For me, I believe it is the "Pros", not entirely Angi. It seems to me there are not enough pros to fill the positions needed for people needing something done. These pro's, from my perspective are lazy, no-show bums who don't want to work certain times of their life. They don't want to be told what to do or when to do it, otherwise, no one would have a problem finding someone through Angi to come and do the project. I have had 4 reschedules in the past couple of weeks because the "pros" did not show up. They may do a job here and there, pay whatever they owe to be able to drive, live in an apt., or eat. They get a few bucks in their pocket and bam, "I am not working again until I need to." Is this the way it is today? Tell me if I am wrong. I do believe Angi should screen their "Pros" way better than they are doing.

We signed up with Angi and it has been a frustrating experience. After signing our contract, they set up our account incorrectly and then essentially ghosted us. The lead quality is terrible, with many leads coming from outside our service area. Despite multiple attempts, they have not responded to our emails or offered any support. Overall, poor service and not recommended.

Terrible service, communication with people in the Philippines. The so-called "professional" cancelled the 1st appointment for him to assemble, and rescheduled for today at 5 pm without checking with me first. Then, at 5:20 pm, he called to say he's running late, by at least an hour, with traffic etc. Meanwhile, I paid for the rinky-dink, BS service through Wayfair, and no one will offer me a credit, discount or refund for my time, troubles and/or inconvenience. And I have a huge box in the middle of my living room floor, for the past 2+ days. Not good business. Not the least bit recommended.

We contracted Dan the Handyman to install a shower door in our just completed tile shower. Dan came and looked at the installation a couple of weeks prior and was given printed instructions from the manufacturer. On August 29, 2025 Dan and his helper arrived to install the shower door. He did not have the correct size or type of carbide drill bit to accommodate the anchors supplied with the door. He mis-drilled many holes and installed the shower door nowhere near plumb or square, with a lot of extra holes exposed. When confronted about the installation, he said he had insurance and would make it right. We had a phone conversation with Dan on September 2, 2025 and he asked for an amount we are seeking. To be fair to both parties we told him that we would attempt to get the tile replaced on a time and materials basis. He has since ghosted us with no further contact. Dan has no skills or integrity. Do not hire!!!

I booked two toilet replacements through Lowe's for Angi to handle. The first replacement went fine and the professional who came out did a great job. The trouble started with the second installation. There was a defect in the toilet and it kept leaking, so he communicated with Lowe's that he needed a replacement unit. It has taken a week to be notified a replacement toilet has been found and now I am hearing it will take 48-72 hours to schedule the install. This should have been done last week and now I have family coming to visit this weekend with no working toilet on our main floor. The overall lack of urgency in this whole process has been disappointing.

I am writing to warn others about my deeply disappointing experience with a service booked through Angi. My appointment was for the simple assembly of a television stand. The service was pre-paid, but upon completion, the technician demanded an additional $30, claiming he had been there a "long time." I felt pressured and bullied into paying this extra amount, which was completely undeserved and not part of the original agreement.
When I contacted Angi's support team to report this, they acknowledged that this was against their policy and gave me a reimbursement claim number, promising to escalate the issue. However, Angi has failed to follow through. The lack of support and the company's decision to allow their service providers to extort money from customers is appalling.
Angi and Wayfair should be ashamed of this kind of business practice. The fact that the technician now has more money that wasn't deserved, and Angi has supported this behavior, is a sign that they care more about getting business than ensuring quality service. I will never use Angi for any service again. Please be careful when booking through this platform. There is also a "happiness guarantee" on the Angi site that obviously is a lie.

Spent too much time in chat room with Angi “help”. They wanted to charge me a fee for a missed appointment. No way! I am retired, home all the time, my son works from home for his remote job. No calls from security (they always announce when a preapproved vendor has been added for one time entry, or permanent if needed). They rebooked me for 2 days from now. If he gets here, completes the job correctly I will update my rating. Until then the one star review stays. Fingers crossed the next handyman shows up and does the job correctly! I bought two grab bars for my shower because my wife is having knee replacement in two days. I started this process one month ago. Bought the grab bars thru Lowe’s and used their install service which contracted with Angi. Angi rep came out several hours late more than a week later and then rescheduled for the next day. Drilled three holes in a ceramic tile wall and then determined the holes were the wrong size. Drills more holes and then walked off the job telling me to get someone else from Angi to finish. Called Angi and couple weeks later a second expert was sent by Angi. He looked at the six holes in two locations and said the first guy did not even locate studs behind the tile to hold the bar but the six holes also caused a problem that would cause the tile to crack and it would never support the grab bar.
He also left with everything undone and told me to call Angi or Lowe’s to get someone out to replace the one tile with 12 holes in it (6 each in two different locations) and then possibly he could come back and put up the grab bars. I have invested at least ten calls to Angi and also to Lowe’s trying to find out who would help with this problem. I have been told this has been escalated to be resolved at least ten times. I have sent pictures of the damaged tile at least three times and again today were asked to send pictures.
My request is simple. Send someone out to replace the one tile. I have a replacement tile and then install 2 grab bars. Not rocket science and I have already paid Lowe’s for install which is paid to Angie and their installer. Never seen anything quite like this. How does someone get something simple done with this kind of organizational process and incompetent expert installers? Help Angi. Send someone qualified asap.

NEVER USE THIS SERVICE FOR BUSINESS!!! If there was a way to give negative stars I absolutely would. This scam of a business stole $3800 from me and is refusing to reimburse me because Angi's is claiming they have an active account. I have a year's worth of emails with numerous representatives who are constantly changing and always telling you the old one was fired. I have my email from when I cancelled the account and received confirmation in response to it acknowledging and confirming cancellation. I have emails from current salespeople harassing me about “setting up opportunity leads only” so I only pay if I click them and I refused.
Yet one year later after leaving the company I worked for last year they took $3800 out of my credit card and refuse to refund me unless I prove I left the business last year and am not affiliated. No accountability of them opening an account that was closed over a year ago or fraudulently applying my credit card to a new account or anything. When I did use them in the past they were absolutely horrific.
In my cancellation email to Stephen ** dated 06/13/2024 I told him I get leads nowhere near my territory, leads never respond because they claim as soon as they gave Angi their info they immediately were spammed with calls and emails, they sell all the customers' info so you’re competing with every company on the internet practically, leads are old or listed wrong or have absolutely nothing to do with your area of service. When you call to have anyone help with your account they can’t understand you, read from a computer what they should say and always leave the call with “I'm not sure. Maybe reach out to the CSR”.
I’ve since gotten emails about Angi's and responded explaining how the emails are addressed to all different people but all coming to me. I talked to Stephan **, Adam **, Dylan **, Jake **, Derek **, Miles ** all in the course of one year and all trying to fix their issues with this account and not one single person has done anything. Now they say it has to “go upstairs”. They have gone silent and refuse to reimburse me so now it has to go further and I will continue to update but hopefully enough attention to this will get them kicked out of IL since they are 100% a scam!!!! Photos attached are proof of their never ending scam.

Lowe’s called Angi to get me rescheduled and I was told by Angi I’d receive an email sometime in the next two days. Two days passed and I didn’t receive an email. I called the customer service number, and spoke with a very nice representative from Lowe's who told me I would receive an email in another two days. Two more days pass, and no email. I went back to Lowe's and spoke with an incredibly kind employee who called the scheduler for Angi again. I was told it would be another two days.
At this point, I returned the garbage disposal and hopefully was reimbursed for the installation fee as well, I’m still waiting to see on my credit card statement. I re-purchased the garbage disposal and scheduled installation through my own Plumber. The only email I received from Angi was to ask me if I was satisfied with the installation. When I checked “no”, the very next screen simply said “thank you” and didn’t even ask why I replied no. I will never ever again use Angi for anything. The crew arrived on time, worked efficiently, and treated our property with respect. They completed the job ahead of schedule and left everything spotless. The quality of the workmanship is outstanding—Our roof looks fantastic and we feel confident knowing it’s built to last.
What really sets FLF apart is their commitment to customer service & satisfaction! Francis held our hand through the entire insurance process from start to finish. He met the insurance adjustor at our house for the initial inspection so he could point out all areas of damage. Warning to Small Businesses About Angi. I moved to the U.S. with my family 4 months ago. We have our documents, but we needed to start earning fast, so we launched our family cleaning business. We built a website and ran ads on Thumbtack. Things started to go well. For some reason, I also decided to sign up for Angi. My experience with this service was so frustrating that I feel I have to write a detailed report to warn others.
Here’s how it went. When you start registration, a sales rep calls, asks what you do, and what your monthly budget will be. We started working. The leads were very low quality—for example, haul away two trash bins, or clean a dog rug. After seeing the quality and volume, I decided to end the experiment. That’s when the real problems began.
It turns out canceling isn’t simple at all. After several days of back-and-forth, they charged me—get this—35% of my annual budget: $1,345. Now it’s clear how Angi makes money: off contractors who don’t speak or read English fluently and get trapped by their process. If you’re a new small business or an immigrant entrepreneur, be careful. Read every clause, record and save all calls and emails, and don’t commit a large “annual budget” before you test lead quality.

They charged me $1,000 for a bracket they added without asking. For no good reason they needed to go under the house, quoted me $40,000 to replace drain pipes they called bad. They took the not working thermostat off the shower for a week, but they couldn't find a replacement and quoted $2,000 to replace complete shower fixture and tear down the hall wall.
Shower doesn't work now and hallway floors had a leak from the shower thermostat, didn't leak before, they came back but didn't stop the leak. I called again and they would charge me for a $200 call back fee. A friend told me 2 common screws would turn of the water and it did. What plumber doesn't know that? The first person who did some handyman type services was professional, attentive, and good. One item required electrical work on the outlet in the master bath. He shared upfront he might not be able to fix it, and decided a master electrician would be needed. Given the short time it would take for such to be sent to our home I offered that he just leave the wires exposed till then. No one ever came back. I called the business that had provided the first person - but received no responses. So not the fault of the handyman originally sent to us. But eventually I had to pay someone on my own to get the work completed.
The second service was arranged by my husband for 4 hours of help taking pictures off walls and organizing them to be moved. The person was very pleasant, helpful, and with my help we completed the work in 1 hour instead of the 4 for which my husband had requested. We still paid the person for the 4, since it was our mistaken estimate.
Shortly after he asked if he could come and discuss something with me. I won't go through the details, but he asked for financial help. Given his "story" and the "family" he brought with him, I decided to help and with his commitment to repay the money over time. He never paid any of it back. His phone turned out to be a burner. I contacted Angi and they didn't do anything except say he would never be sent back to my house. I don't even know if they dropped him from their list for other customers. These contractors are supposed to go through background checks. And I cannot believe it was acceptable to Angi that a contractor could use their customers to do this. I was shocked and will never use them again. Beware.

Angi ripped me off, sent my company leads that were dead, or not looking for an estimate. Charged me $200 for each one. In a legal battle now because they sent our company to collections, we have proof with screenshots between client and company proving the client was pushed into asking for an estimate. My profile said we charge for estimates, Angi sent us clients who were expecting a free estimate then charged us for each one even though the clients would cancel when they found out we charge an estimate fee but credit it back.

They assured us, they would replace the sod in two to three weeks if it didn’t adhere. Additionally, they assured us, they would not leave the project until we gave them our okay. No nothing is true, the only truth is that your money will be wasted and they will not do anything when it comes to customer service. They don’t care after you become a member, you are on your own and how they work is they send the same lead to more then 10 companies and you has to lower your price to get anything if your luck so no people specially new contractors and Spanish speaking don’t get this app work and something else it will be worth is you spend money on Google or other real apps. We hired a professional thru Angi to remove an existing sliding glass door and install a brand new sliding door. The first professional lied about picking up the door (which we paid for ourselves) and delivering it to our home. Said he had a truck and could get the door here easily. He finally showed up many hours after he was scheduled with the door strapped to the top of a small sedan. Who does that? I called Angi and asked that the professional sent be removed from the job and a new professional assigned. Angi assigned a different professional.
The next professional did come however, they brought a second person because Angi assigned it as a 1 person job even though (according to the professional) it was a 2 person job. We ended up having to pay Angi as well as the second person. The sliding door started having problems locking and closing all the way working several months after installation. Today, I finally had the funds to pay a local, licensed professional to come fix the door.
It was discovered that the door was not installed correctly resulting in extensive, unseen, damage to the house. We are looking at thousands of dollars in structural repair needed due to water damage resulting from improper installation. I called Angi and was told there's nothing they can do because the problem was not reported within the window of time provided by happiness guarantee. I was shocked that no help was offered. No resolution process available to homeowners when taken advantage of by professionals referred by Angi. Never, ever use Angi or any "professional" associated with Angi. You take the chance of becoming a victim of the companies fly by night attitude and lack of concern for homeowners who pay for services that result in damage not visible because they are happening behind siding and within the walls and framing of your home.

Angi first provided a time window 9 a.m -12 p.m. then I got a notification from Angi, stating name of installer, acceptance of project, and Angi stated the start time to be 9 a.m. At 9:25 a.m. installer had not shown up, notified Angi, got the standard run around of excuses. Point is Angi provided a start time and not the window, stick to it and find out why the person is late. Angi was asked to contact the installer and provide an ETA which the Angi rep declined by stating we use the time window allotted. My daily schedule was set to start at 9 a.m. and finish by 12 p.m. and project ended at 1:45 p.m.
Installer worked very hard, could not speak English which made communicating more difficult and did not want to read instructions. ProVia doors are not like a big box store storm door, more attention to install required. I would recommend the installer if he worked on his own. Once we got the communications worked out he worked hard and wanted the door to work perfectly which it does. As a small business owner in the home improvement industry, I feel compelled to share my experience with Angi's business practices and how they're negatively impacting both contractors and homeowners. Angi's business model is fundamentally flawed for small businesses. They charge contractors $75-$200+ per lead with conversion rates as low as 10% in many cases. This means contractors are paying $750-$1,400+ for every job they actually get. These excessive costs force contractors to either:
- Cut corners on quality to maintain margins (hurting everyone)
- Go out of business (reducing competition)
Their Pro Agreement is heavily one-sided, requiring contractors to:
- Pay for ALL leads regardless of quality or conversion- Accept unlimited liability for any customer disputes
- Give Angi perpetual rights to business content and photos
- Submit to forced arbitration with no class action rights
- Pay Early Termination Fees with undisclosed amounts
Impact on Consumers:
When contractors are forced to pay these excessive lead costs, guess who ultimately pays? The homeowner. These inflated lead generation costs get built into project pricing, making home improvements more expensive for everyone.
Additionally, the pressure to recoup high lead costs can incentivize less scrupulous contractors to:
- Inflate estimates to cover lead expenses- Rush through jobs to maximize volume
- Use lower-quality materials to maintain margins
Recommendation:
For Homeowners: Find contractors through Google reviews, referrals, and local directories. You'll often get better pricing and service from contractors who aren't paying excessive platform fees.
For Contractors: Avoid Angi's predatory contracts. Focus on building your reputation locally and invest in your own marketing. The money you'd spend on Angi leads is better invested in your business and customer service. Angi positions itself as helping homeowners find contractors, but in reality, it's extracting value from both sides of the transaction while providing minimal benefit. Small businesses and consumers both lose in this model. Update: After reviewing their latest Pro Agreement terms, I declined to participate. The financial and legal risks simply aren't worth it when better alternatives exist. Beware of ANGI

As a contractor, we tried Angi a few times in the past. The service and leads were absolutely awful. They called us several times this year and made numerous promises on how Angi has improved since they Re-Branded from HomeAdvisor. This couldn't possibly be more inaccurate. The leads are worse than ever. The service from Angi is terrible. They continue to do the same old same old. If we sent in a request for a lead that simply didn't respond, had an email that didn't exist, or phone number that was out of service (or all of the above) our Credit Request was immediately rejected just as before. We did have an account manager again this time and he did help with a few credit requests, but he just eventually disappeared and wouldn't respond. We would call him...no response. We would email him, and he might say he would call back... No call back.
The bottomline is Angi is still selling the same old false hopes as before. Legally, we have a hard time understanding how this is allowed to continue. There's a reason they have all the class action lawsuits and have to keep rebranding. If you like throwing your money down the tube, give Angi a shot. We've lost money every time we used the service no matter what they called themselves.

They need to pay for the 3 days I arranged time of work for these appointments. It is poor business of them to cancel less than 2 hours the day of the appointment. They need to do more than refund the service, they need to compensate for the 3 days of work taken off for these appointments. Sad that wayfair has them listed as their paid installation service on their website.

As a contractor, I feel Angi's is a absolute rip-off! Went 2 weeks without getting one solid lead. By then, I was $600 in the hole. I don't know why homeowners don't just look up contractors in their area. I've had multiple customers while with Angi's complain about getting up to a dozen fun calls from contractors at one time. They claim they only sell the lead to 5 different contractors, but the customers' overwhelming contractor phone calls prove differently!

Angi is not an honest platform where consumer can rely on to find workers to do jobs. Angi minupilates the scores of the paying members to reflect higher scores and 5 starts when it is not true. Angi has a habit to remove the genuine negative reviews posted for their members and to encourage the fake positive reviews as long the members are paying their monthly membership to Angi. I spent hours every day talking to consumers and sending out estimates, and driving to customers houses to look at their jobs, only to never hear back from them. I was available immediately, I have a very professional appearance, and I kept on lowering my prices because I wasn't getting these jobs, and no matter how much I lowered my prices I still wasn't winning any jobs through Angi. The worst part is that when I wanted to cancel my service they informed me that I was locked in for 12 months and then I owed them over $2000 to cancel my service. If I could give negative stars, I would. My experience with Angi Ads has been nothing short of a nightmare. Their customer service is not just poor — it's non-existent. Once they have your money, you’re on your own. Trying to reach a competent representative feels like chasing a ghost. Emails go unanswered, and phone calls are either routed endlessly or dropped. When you do manage to speak with someone, you're met with vague answers, deflection, or scripted apologies that lead absolutely nowhere.
What makes it worse is their billing practices. I was charged for leads that were completely irrelevant to my business — some from hundreds of miles away, others with fake numbers or people who had never heard of Angi. When I disputed these charges, I was met with stonewalling and outright refusal to take responsibility. No resolution, no refund, no accountability.
This is not a partner in marketing — it's a parasitic platform that preys on small businesses. They promise exposure and qualified leads but deliver frustration and financial loss. You’ll spend more time fighting with their support team (if you can find them) than actually growing your business. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of Angi Ads. There are far better ways to spend your advertising dollars — ones that don’t involve being ignored, overcharged, and disrespected.

We’ve been in our new home for one year. While we love the house, we would not choose to work with Cypress Homes of Appleton, WI again, given their lack of responsiveness over the past year. We were initially drawn to Cypress by the high quality of their work. Cypress Homes has developed an effective system that minimizes the typical problems and mistakes that are common in the homebuilding process. We worked with Josh, who was truly exceptional. We appreciated how responsive he was to our questions and concerns. He worked really hard to get us the home we wanted for our unique lot.
The frustrations began when we transitioned from sales to project management. I was on site more frequently than the project manager was. I saw first hand the lack of communication between the crews and the project manager. I fielded questions from every subcontractor team that prevented mistakes in layout, finishing, design, and other important decisions that matter to every homeowner. The project manager rarely responded to questions, and when he did, it was often with inaccurate or misleading information.
The months of poor communication continued right up to the final walk through. It was visible that the excavator did not do a proper job of grading on three sides of our house. The Contract Specifications state, “The grader will slope the terrain to provide drainage away from the foundation…The finished grade of the soil shall slope away from the dwelling at a rate of at least ½” per foot for a minimum distance of 10’...” In multiple spots, the grade actually slopes toward the house and the foundation by about five inches, leading to standing water against the foundation.
It’s been an entire year of calling and emailing, and Cypress has still not met the contract language. Initially, I repeatedly emailed, called, and texted Dave about this problem. He never responded. I spent thousands of dollars fixing the drainage problem myself on two sides of the house shortly after we moved in. Because the house is under a one-year warranty, I expected to work with the office staff this spring to resolve the remaining issue on one side of our home. I was right to be concerned. Thawing snow and early spring rain quickly revealed the sloping grade toward the house. Water pooled against the foundation, leading our sump pump to cycle every two minutes for more than a week.
For more than three months, I have emailed and called to explain the issue and seek resolution. The lack of response has been stunning. One year after we moved in, the issue is unresolved. Final recommendation: If you want a quality new home, Cypress Homes will likely deliver. But if you want a quality new home and seek a positive building experience (contract upheld, professional and timely communication, etc.), take your business elsewhere.

The refrigerator section of my SubZero refrigerator is not cooling. I requested a certified SubZero repair person through Angi. I was contacted by Atomic Tech stating they were certified so I scheduled an appointment for a diagnostic. When the tech arrived, the first thing he did was collect the $150 fee, which I thought was a little strange. He had no diagnostic tools only a cell phone which he used to take and send pictures to someone. He said he saw an ice ball on the evaporator coil and no frost pattern, indicating a leak or restriction in the system but had no idea what repairs were necessary, and that someone from the office would contact me with an estimate for repairs. He then proceeded to wash his hands in my kitchen sink and dry them with my dish towel, until I stopped him.
I was totally dissatisfied and contacted the office immediately. A gentleman returned my call stating he was the supervisor and that the pictures were being sent to him for evaluation because there are so few technicians qualified to work on that type of refrigerator. Though all systems are separate and the freezer is working just fine he said everything needed to be replaced based on a visual inspection of pictures provided by his on site tech. He sent me an estimate for $4894.76.
This company is a rip off and total waste of your money. I later found out they are not certified SubZero technicians. I have gotten some very good repair people from Angi whom I have developed excellent working relationships with over the years, and have been able to refer them to friends. If this was my first experience with Angi I would never use her again. I suggest that you removed this company from your list before they destroy your reputation.

Angi making you sign a contract for 1 year. I'm just lucky I chose a budget $300 per month, a minimum budget available. And what you get? Customers don't even respond to any messages and calls, you getting just a ghost leads. As I got it later, when customer choose one pro, Angi send that lead to that pro and also to up to 5 other pros, so it's confusing for customer, because he doesn't expect any other calls and messages except the only one pro he chose. So other pros start calling to the customer and everyone gets disappointed: pros getting unresponsive cold lead who doesn't interested in their calls and the customer gets a lot of unexpected and unwanted calls. This is confusing everybody.
And I worked with Angi about 8 months and during that time I did only 3 jobs from that platform. In that time I worked with other platforms and I got a lot of very good customers from those, but not from Angi. Angi always was worst compare to other platforms. And that point you decide to break up with Angi, but it's not that easy. You have to pay early cancellation fee 30% of the remaining amount in contract on that moment. For 8 months working with Angi I did just a 3 jobs from that platform. I spent $2,533 for Angi Ads and earned $1,240. So it's -$1,293 of losses, not including a time I spent to call and messaging those ghost leads, to perform a jobs, not including a gas I spent and tolls I paid to travel to the customers. It's for 8 months!!!

I had a very unpleasant experience with Brody. I had two vents with no air coming out of them. The Brody tech came and determined I needed to replace a damper. The price was reasonable, although I was surprised that the service charge was not going to the cost of repairs. Brody came to make the repairs and when they finished, three vents had no air coming out of them. I pointed this out to the repair person. Unfortunately, I had to leave so I told the tech that they would have to return to fix the problem and I’d pay at that time. The next day, I was told someone was on their way to my house. To my surprise, it was the owner of the company. Rather than taking a “how can we make this right” approach to the situation, he had a confrontational demeaner and took the attitude that the damper that was not working was old and probably stopped working while the tech was there.
I felt this was too much of a coincidence to be the case. Rather than arranging for a return trip from one of their repair people, he said I would have to pay the service fee and it would be waived if they were actually at fault. I encouraged him to at least look at the control panel to see if any wires were dislodged, he showed me that there were two loose wires, but in his opinion, they may have been there from some previous repair and probably did nothing. Since these wires were the source of the problem, my only assumption is that the owner does not understand how these control boards work, otherwise he would have seen that this was the problem and corrected it. I went ahead and set up an appointment for a tech to come to the house and while on the way over, the owner called me to tell me he would not come unless I immediately paid the invoice. I told him I planned to pay while he was at my house.
He obviously didn’t trust me and demanded payment. I felt over a barrel and paid as demanded. I felt like I was being treated like a crook! Not the way to foster customer loyalty! Unsurprisingly, the tech came and quickly realized that the first tech that came to the house had disconnected the damper (hence the two unattached wires at the box that the owner noticed) and all that needed to be done was reconnect them. Guess what? All three vents now worked fine. I think the owner should run his business and avoid dealing with customers. His tech people are fantastic, but he definitely has a very unfriendly attitude towards his customers. He is not doing his company any favors by treating clients like crooks!!

They charge so much money and then give the individual so little money to perform the work that only fat cats are getting rich customers don't get what they're looking for and the workers don't make any money. They should be investigated for being con artists. This is nothing like it is represented to be. I had a contractor and I use the term very loosely, come to my home ill prepared, without tools, without parts, and no expertise in the field that they said he would help me with. I'm being somewhat generic in my remarks coz I don't want to throw the individual under the bus. I don't fault them, I fault the company that told me that they were sending a "pro" to perform the service. I would have had just as much luck picking someone up off the street.
Nothing got done. It was a complete waste of my time and sadly the time of the individual that came to my home. I felt bad because they didn't even have transportation. They have to take Lyft to get to my home. 20 minutes later I just drove them home because I felt bad for them. What is important here besides all of this is my mom is immobile. We paid someone to move out all her furniture the night before. She now had now where to sleep. She had no couch nor a bed. Her apt was filled with large boxes totaling 200 lbs. and no resolution in sight. The rep knew all of this and just kept saying I understand how you feel. I later talked to Wayfair and they advised that Angi did not schedule an appt for Sunday. We then had to borrow a couch from neighbors in the building lift and move all of this stuff back again as we had gotten rid of her old couch. Angi did not care about the inconvenience. What this situation did to my mother or the stress and expense that this cause me. I also had to close my business. I lost customers and income as well as being completely and totally stressed to have my 90 year old mom left in this circumstance.
Angi sent there stand email about service and how could they make this better. Once they got my response NO REPLY. No resolutions and simply could care less. This is very serious as the installer took off before the scheduled time given zero thought or consideration for the situation he was going into. Angi has no right to be in business offering this terrible service to anyone. Further it is disappointing that Wayfair is using Angi at all. The outcome of this was abuse to a senior citizen. No one has followed up. I have the emails that back everything I have said. These emails confirmed proper address etc. Angi you have no right to treat others in this way and in particular my 90 year old mother that simply needed a bed. Shame on you!!!!

I am a pro that works with Angi. I was with them from 2016 to 2022 and for the time that it was just Home Advisor it was great. Now it's a big scam when I signed back up in 2024. Please don't use them. I was supposed to have free membership fees when I sign back up with him if I made a big deposit on my account upon signing up and they still charged me yesterday for that annual membership charge. I called to cancel the service and receive a refund. They denied me of this refund. I haven't used their service since they made the charge. No. Company is ridiculous and only wants to rob people. They're only worried about the bottom line not their customers on either side of the fence.

As the owner of a small, licensed junk removal business in Knoxville, TN, I signed up with Angi Leads in April 2025 based on their promises of quality, high-intent customer leads. The contract was for a 12-month subscription at $350 every 28 days, with an estimated 23–38 leads per billing cycle. Unfortunately, the experience has been deeply disappointing. Out of the 34 leads I received, only 6 turned into actual jobs. The vast majority were either unreachable, not interested, or surprised to be contacted—suggesting these were not true service requests. Many never answered calls or texts at all, wasting valuable time and resources. When I attempted to cancel due to the poor quality of the leads, Angi insisted on enforcing a 35% early termination fee on the remaining contract — despite their failure to deliver usable or productive leads. This feels predatory, especially for small businesses trying to grow and stay afloat.
I am now disputing charges with my bank and documenting everything. I urge other small businesses to be cautious before signing up with Angi. The quality of service does not match the marketing promises, and the cancellation terms are aggressive and rigid. I hope Angi re-evaluates how it handles service quality and treats its business clients with fairness.

I should have read the reviews on Angie’s before I used one of their contractors. Shamrock Chimney I was looking for a chimney lining. The contractors installed something that caused the smoke to back into my house. After 3 attempts to correct their shoddy work and $4300 later, the contractors stopped answering my calls. I could not use my chimney. After months of talks with Angie’s dispute folks, I had to hire an attorney. I was prepared to sue Angie’s and Shamrock chimney and they knew it. I should add, I’ve spent over 100k restoring my old home and never once had An issue with any contractor. Happy to report, I got my refund. Would NEVER use Angie’s again.

Do NOT use Angi's List as a small contractor. The contract you sign will bind you. Angi did not deliver any roofing leads to us because they switched the wording to commercial when we are a residential roofing company. We got zero leads and when we complained they did less than nothing. We got zero money from roofing leads, had to pay them a monthly fee and then when we finally quite after 4 months, they charged us a "early termination fee". They have no remorse. They only care about locking you in for the year. Look up their FCC complaints, BBB complaints and research yourself. Angi's list gave me nothing but grief!

This company will send out false leads and then make you pay for them and will not give you your money back. If I were you I would run from this company as fast as I can. Do not refer them to friends or family, this company needs to be out of business.

I am a licensed contractor. And I am a Angi Pro. I do not wish this company on anyone. They lie and steal. They stole $3800. from my business and we filed with the Attorney General's Office of MN to get our money back. Do not do business with this company!!! I was with Angi for one month. At $1000. Per month. Look at my bill now. Beware.

For my furniture assembly booked through Wayfair, the first pro (Abera G.) suddenly did not show up without any reason. The booking was rescheduled by 2 days and the second pro (Gene W.) did not show up. All attempts to contact him was unsuccessful, and Angi was of no help as I couldn't get hold of them also. Waste of my time working with Angi. Will use a different company in the future and will avoid Angi.
