I ordered 5 days before my granddaughter's 16th birthday. On the day the flowers were to be delivered, I got a call at 9:30 in the morning saying there was no florist in the area to do the flowers! Why could they not have called me with that information DAYS prior so I could make other arrangements?! A last minute call from someone in India is LOUSY customer service. I will not use this company again!

Ordered potted rose and stuffed dog for my mom for valentines day. Only delivery date available was 2 weeks after valentines day. Told mom gift would be late. It arrived and no blooms OR BUDS on rose bush. Called to complain. Offered me $20 gift card (less than half the original cost). Tried to use the gift card just now by replying to an email they sent offering FREE SHIPPING for Mothers Day. Opened the link THEY provided and ordered flowers. Applied the $20 gift card and it was accepted. Entered the Free Ship code (EARLY SHIP) and it didnt apply to the item i bought - FROM THEIR LIST OF ITEMS IN THEIR EMAIL. Tried three other items. Same result. Finally gave up. I'll go to ProFlowers if i need internet flowers, or just buy locally and hand deliver. Tired of their scams.

Placed an order, was supposed to be delivered to my wife's work for our anniversary, they never made it. After a phone call the gentleman stated he had called me and left me a very detailed message about my order which is funny because nobody called me at all. And since my voice mail is not set up he couldn't have left me a message even if he had called! Then they try to give me a $20 savings pass which will take a week to receive by email but yet it only took them a matter of minutes to take my money when I ordered and a redelivery date. Well if I didn't get them the first time I doubt they would get it right the second time. This company is a bunch of lying crooks!

I ordered a large bouquet for my Mother's 75th birthday today. They were never delivered for her. I received your email at 10:45 saying that your florist had received the order and would be delivering it soon. At 1:30 pm I called you b/c the order was not delivered. Your agent contacted the florist and said it would be there no later than 45 minutes. I called back at 3:30 pm and your agent said they would call the florist again and call me back. I did not receive a call back. At 6:30 pm I called back and no one answered the phone at 1 800 Flowers. I chose the option to order a new order and got an agent that way. Then she told me that my order was taken out by the florist but couldn't make the delivery and so it would be taken out tomorrow. The day after my mom's 75th birthday.

I called my mother to ask how she likes the flowers, but she never received them. So, upset because it was a surprise, contact customer service and they told me they ran out of the birthday flowers. I ask "why did you send me an email that they were delivered?" Crickets... I will go directly to the florist. Never deal with this company again and I have to wait 5-7 days just to get my credit back.

Order flowers $140 for Sunday 4/19. They confirmed it will be delivered. In the afternoon they say "attempted delivery". I live in a Building with 24 hours concierge, if they tried to deliver, they would have. Call representative, was told business was closed. They will deliver tomorrow and as a gesture they will "give me a credit of $20 in future purchases". Of course I will not accept the flowers on Monday and I won't pay a penny for a service that never happened!

I ordered a particular arrangement to be delivered to a patient at a hospital. A little later in the day someone called to say the arrangement was not available. I then gave my consent for another arrangement to be sent. No flowers were delivered. I then emailed 1800 flowers to see what happened and received no reply even though their website said they answer promptly. Their toll free number placed me on hold twice and no one picked up my call. Only when I posted a negative remark on their Facebook page did I receive a response. I was advised the flowers would be delivered today. At this time I have checked the tracking of my order on their website and it does not show them to be delivered. Badly done. I had this happen with this company in the past for a funeral but thought I would give them another try. Fool me twice, shame on me.

I ordered flowers for my girlfriend to surprise her on our anniversary. I elected to have them sent to her workplace, a school, to surprise her during the workday. Their website stated that flowers going to a workplace would be delivered during business hours. I assumed that meant that they would be delivered before 5 pm. At 6 pm, after she left work, the site said they still hadn't been delivered. Customer service stated that there wasn't anything they could do until FedEx reported to them that it wasn't deliverable. Thank you 1800Flowers, the surprise was ruined, they weren't delivered on time and all this grief cost me $130. After 20 minutes of talking with them, all they could do was give me my money back and keep me unsatisfied. They obviously don't care about their customer satisfaction. I talked to an Indian, who was hard to understand. When I first ordered (on Friday) for my sister in law's Birthday, he said the flowers could be delivered on Sat. No problem and they were for a Sunday birthday, so I was satisfied. Then I got a call on Sat. saying they couldn't be delivered till Monday, so I said "ok", but I was disappointed, and they said they would call her and apologize. Then I found out at the end of the Friday call that the "shipping charge" was really the phone service charge, and if I had ordered online, there wouldn't have been that charge. So, I said "please cancel my order, I would prefer to order online", and he said that they would give me a 15% discount, so the cost was to go down to $48.98. Then I saw last night that they had charged me the whole amount - $54.98.
When the lady from the Philippines called today, to get the address right - which somehow had gotten lost, I asked why the amount on my account was still at 54.99 when I had been told it would be reduced. She said the charge would be $33.99! So, I said "great, but make sure that I get credited on my account". I'm pretty unhappy that 1) it was first an Indian, hard to understand 2) that they couldn't deliver on Sat. as they had said was possible 3) that the charge was not reduced, and 4) that they got the address mixed up, as well as I had to try to understand a Filipino. Please give me a full credit!

I called customer service: April 10th 2015 - 8:03 pm ET, spoke with ** who said there was a communication mix up with the florist, the attempted delivery message was incorrect on the internet. He promised the arrangement would be delivered first thing in the morning. April 11th @ Noon ET, I spoke to ** (hard to understand), she told me that they will be delivered. I said I wanted to know the name of the local florist. She stated they could not provide that information. I said what is the difference because once they are ever delivered the card will have the florist name on it. She ended up lying to me and said the flowers where on the truck and they would be delivered in an hour!
April 12th, I spoke to ** (ID # **) who said he will refund 1/2 my money and saw that the shipping was credited, however will not hit my account for 3-5 days. He told me he will place the order with a new florist first thing on Monday AM(04/13). I said my arrangement better be fresh and not the one from Friday if it was ever created. I also said it better be double the size for the stress that this has caused and it better look like the photo on the internet! I said my niece will be healed from her surgery by the time these flowers are delivered! NEVER USE 1800 FLOWERS if you want your loved one to receive anything. I am soooo upset and embarrassed, I placed two separate orders for two separate days. The first one ordered for one of my friends was the 24 red roses in a Waterford vase. They were supposed to be sent to my office, in my name, to be given to a friend for a wedding gift at a surprise shower. Some of her other friends and I were going to go in together and buy her with a Waterford crystal vase but I had seen this vase w/ the 24 roses at 1(800)flowers and told them about it and they all chipped in. I called 3 days in advance and was assured they would be there on Wednesday, 4/7/2015 by 2pm, when we were having our surprise luncheon for her.
At 2:30pm they had not arrived so I called the 1(800)flowers number (which is outsourced and not in the United States), but I once again was assured they would be delivered but this time I was told by 5:00pm via UPS. I was upset as this was so carefully planned but okay fine, at least she would get them on the right day. Well, you guessed it, they were a no show and we were in the office until 8pm.
I called "customer service" (again, not in the U.S.) this morning and told them what happened and I am told "Oh, I am sorry, let me check on where your order is." I gave her the order number and the woman puts me on hold and then comes back with the wrong information! She pulled up the information for my second order set to be delivered on 4/9/2015 and says "Oh ma'am, you are wrong about your order, you did not order the ..........., you ordered the..........and it is not set to be delivered until tomorrow".
I go through the whole story and once again give her the order number. She puts me on hold a second time, comes back and says she can't find my order. So, for a 3rd time I explain there are 2 orders for 2 different items and I am giving her the correct order number. I repeat the number a 3rd time and she says "Oh ma'am, I got the wrong number, let me check again." She comes back after the 3rd try and tells me there was a problem with my order so they cancelled it!" Really!!!
Okay, I gave them 2 different phone numbers to reach me, plus my email addy. Why the heck would they ask you for a phone number(s), or email address, if they are not going to contact you if there is a problem? She could not answer that question! I asked for an immediate refund of my $120.00. She proceeds to tell me she can just "re-submit" my order and it will be delivered on Monday, 4/14/2015 - by 2pm! Really!!! I explained that “this was for a "special" occasion and getting it a week later would not help me.” She offered to have it sent today but it would be an additional $65.00 plus tax and $2.00 for delivery today! Really, you mess up my order, and then "offer" to have it delivered the next day but will charge me a total of $73.00 more!
Could I have given it on another day, sure but that was not the point. I again said "just refund me for the purchase." She then says "well, if that is what you want ma'am, I will have your money refunded but it takes 5 to 7 business days. If you will just keep your order, I will give you a 20% off coupon for your next purchase." OMG, really! You charge my c.c. immediately, mess up my order, want to charge me extra to fix your mistake and now I feel like you are trying to push me into keeping the order w/ a 20% off coupon for my next purchase!?!
I told her “no and now I want to cancel my second order, set to be delivered tomorrow”, and she tells me “it's too late” and I cannot get a refund on that order as it has already be shipped and since there is nothing wrong with it (that we know of) she cannot refund the money for that order. 1(800) flowers have put me in such a difficult position. I am devastated, embarrassed, and upset. I feel like I let down the other girls as this was my part of the surprise shower and I let everyone down. I like a heel because we had no gift for our friend yesterday. I had to give the other girls their money back, rightfully so of course, since I had no gift to show for their money, while I have to wait 5 to 7 days for my refund. On top of that I still need to buy a crystal vase for my friend.
One last comment/question: "1(800)flowers what happened to customer service, and why can't I talk with someone in U.S. when there is a problem, who understands me and I can understand them?"

I ordered flowers for a friend who has been in the hospital since before Christmas - thought it might cheer up Easter. I placed my order on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, and after all their charges it was over seventy dollars and they couldn't deliver till Good Friday, April 3. I found out that my friend had been transferred to a skilled nursing across the street so on the 2nd of April one full day before they were scheduled to deliver. I called 1-800-Flowers customers service and spoke to **. All of the customer service people have perky "American style" names but trust me they are somewhere like Mumbai - the accents are thick and so is the scripting. ** assured me they would contact the delivering florist and change the ship to address - no problem...
On Saturday I received an email that they were unable to deliver and were waiting for a call from the recipient (???) so I once again called customer service and spoke to a guy who had such a thick accent I literally couldn't understand him - he assured me they would attempt to deliver "this one" again. As of today - Monday the 6th - NOTHING so I called and got ** who called the florist and finally just gave me the florist's number to try and straighten the whole mess out. So basically other than collecting money, 1-800-Flowers did NOTHING.
I spoke to the "florist" who swore they had never given her the correct info and she swears she will deliver a brand new arrangement - like, now - that was at noon and almost 4 hours later. I don't have any encouragement that anything will happen. I don't like outsourced companies - they just give away jobs that we need and while I feel the employees are dedicated to doing the best they can its just not the same. I also don't like the duplicity that assigning them "cute" names will make them seem more American. The order is guaranteed by Google-trusted merchants so that will be my next stop but I think I am basically out a hundred bucks and I could have done better by just using a local florist. I will never use 1-800-Flowers again - ever...

We placed an order to be delivered the next day for a friend who lost her mother. On delivery day, we received a garbled message of which only flowers and order were legible. We called, and found out they had cancelled the order. Told "The florist could not deliver the flowers.” Then they offered same-day delivery on a new order so we did. By 9pm, they were still not received. We called the Customer Service. They offered to place a third order, as the second order had been cancelled, and "someone should have called". No longer certain they would EVER deliver, my wife asked to speak to a manager. After 15 minutes, the best they could do was be the go-between between her and the manager.
In the mean time, I called from my phone, and was put on hold for over 15 minutes. I hung up, and called back again. That person (finally) seemed really concerned, and did not put me on hold but went looking for her manager **. Finally (7 minutes), ** was available and she'd put me through. I went on hold for 2 minutes, then she said her manager ** was now ready. I could not naturally trust that ** was a manager since the original name was **. Anyhow, first ** got my info and asked me what the matter was. I explained. Then he said he was sorry but could not speak to me since my name was not on the order.
My wife took over. The summary of the call was there was only 1 florist in the area (I live in Leander, a suburb of Austin, the capital of Texas). I'm fairly certain they'd have more than one florist, or there's a lot of dissatisfied customers since ** then said "they ran out of materials to make your original order". After his repeating the 1 florist line a few times, we asked about our 2nd order, a same-day delivery order. His response was the order should not have ever been accepted as there's only 1 florist in the area. When asked why it was cancelled, he stated "it should have never been placed". Unsure as to why that was my wife's fault she asked why she had received the confirmation for the second order. He said it did not matter as it should have never been placed. Frustrated, we reiterated our dissatisfaction with 1800flowers and terminated the call.

I placed an order on line this morning for my wife's birthday today. A dozen of purple roses to be delivered to her at work by surprise. I get a call at 1:30 PM saying that the florist cannot deliver the order because they dont have purple roses (then why advertise them for same day delivery). Your customer service person asks if I'd like to substitute red roses. After going back and forth for 5 minutes (because of a language barrier issue) and offering 15% discount and a $20 gift card to a future 1-800 flower order (there will not ever be a future order with you) she talked me into changing to red roses ONLY IF THEY CAN BE DELIVERED TO MY WIFE'S WORK BY 2:30. The agent assured me they would and told me that if there was a problem then she'd call me right away and inform me.
Well at 3:00 PM my wife's birthday surprise was still not ordered and I had to call you to find out what was happening. At this point I have to explain the whole ordeal again to a different person. Had i known that you sub contract your customer service to the Philippines, I would have never done business with you. So here we are at 3:54 PM and my wife still does not have her birthday gift. Oh, I just got a phone call from another Filipino lady saying that she "ASSURES" me that my wife will get her flowers at our home... Funny, I was told that two times earlier today and nothing happened.
I will do everything in my power to get onto every social media website and tell everyone that i know about this terrible experience with your company. I will ask everyone to pass the story along to at least one other person that they know, and so on. My efforts to see my wife smile at work in front of her co workers has been stomped on by your company. A $20 gift certificate for a future order with 1-800 flowers?? That is an insult. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

I recently ordered flowers and Harry Winston chocolates (14 oz) for my aunt's 90th birthday. After speaking with 1(800) flowers, I was told the local florist did not have Harry Winston chocolates, but they would switch to Ghirardelli chocolates (16 oz). Upon checking with the local florist, I was told the order would be switched with a 7 oz Whitman sampler box; in fact, the local florist did not even have Ghirardelli chocolate (1-800 flowers had simply fabricated a lie). The local florist was kind enough to send 2 - 7 oz boxes of Whitman chocolates when she understood what had happened (no thanks to 1-800 flowers who really didn't care what was sent).
I utilize services such as 1-800 Flowers to do nice things for people I care about. When an order is changed to provide a product of lesser quality and quantity it reflects on me and diminishes the gift. In my business, if I can't fill an order, I provide an alternative that is equal or better. I also do the necessary research before offering an alternative to my customer (and I certainly don't promise a 16 oz box of Ghirardelli chocolate and then deliver a 7 oz box of drugstore candy). If you are ordering something for someone you care about or a business associate, I would not entrust 1-800 flowers with the order.

Instead, on March 20, 2015, three days AFTER the death of this friend, the arrangement was delivered to her grieving husband, with a card and sentiment for her. What an idiot I looked like. Worse yet, is that my final word to her never arrived before she passed. I have never written a review like this - this is by far, the worst service experience I have had and will advise everyone that I come in contact with never to use this company again.

I ordered an edible arrangement on the 1-800 Flowers website on Friday March 27th originally expecting weekend delivery but after putting the required destination information they said it would be same day delivery which was fine with me. Apparently they had tried to call me later on Friday but couldn't email me to let me know there was a problem. I didn't hear the voice mail until late Friday evening explaining they couldn't make the delivery on Friday and to please call back.
Since I originally expected weekend delivery anyway I was not overly disappointed, however I was very busy on Saturday so in the early evening I logged into the 1-800 Flowers website to check on the status of the delivery and it had not been delivered. I called them up to complain and was told they could not find anyone to create the arrangement and they would refund my money. Thanks for nothing, my next call was to Edible Arrangements who for less money actually delivered a beautiful arrangement on Sunday. Thanks goodness somebody knows what the hell they are doing, I will never use 1-800 Flowers again..

At approx 10:20 am on 3/21/15 I ordered a bouquet and teddy to be delivered to my 94 yr old Gram the same day... not because I was pushing but because they advertised "Same Day Delivery." Cut to the chase, the flowers and stuffed "dog," were delivered on the afternoon of 03/25/15. Misinformation... nope... Bait and Switch!! The company makes me doubly mad because they set their workers up to fail! I've gotten an email asking me, "How did this worker perform?" FYI 1800 FLOWERS.. If you did what you were supposed to do you wouldn't have to spend so much time and resources on policing your employees. I ordered flowers for my sister's birthday - she is in the UK, I'm in the US, so 1800 flowers seemed an easy way to say happy birthday/love you sis. What I ordered was beautiful - what she got was a bunch of daisies! Called to complain and they are going to resend tomorrow and kept asking me what I wanted to include in the flowers, I want the SEA Breeze arrangement I ordered from your website - why do I have to list the flowers (I don't know some of their names)! Why can't they just deliver an arrangement that (as closely as possible) matches the one they advertise?
Customer service was an Indian lady - not sure if she was US or India based - doesn't really matter, she was obtuse to the point of obstructiveness (perhaps her plan) - and didn't seem to understand why I was upset - if I wanted my sister to have daisies I would have told her to go out to her backyard and grab a bunch! Cheap Cheap Cheap - which the arrangement was not - just shy of $100 actually! I will see what the morrow brings, but I don't hold out much hope (plus, her birthday was today so kinda lost the pazazz now).

Ordered flowers online. The recipient had to go out-of-town, so I needed to cancel the order. It's impossible to cancel an order online. I called, cancelled the order a week before the scheduled delivery. The delivery was indeed cancelled. Customer Service promised a confirming email, and, promised to return the money to my account within 5-7 days. The email never was generated confirming cancellation and refund. The refund never arrived. I called again. Once again, promised that I would immediately receive a confirmation email and refund. Once again, no email and no refund. I was then forced to initiate a formal investigation against 1800Flowers.com through both PayPal and MasterCard. Finally, after two months, 1800Flowers.com finally, grudgingly, refunded my money. 1800Flowers.com IS A CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE!!!! THEY MEET THE DEFINITION OF THIEVES!!! BEWARE!!!!

I had the worst experience ever with 1-800-flowers. I had a sympathy order that was time sensitive. I first spoke with someone who didn't speak English well enough, didn't understand the word "sympathy", butchered my message card with several misspellings, and guaranteed me a date that she never followed through on. She told me it would definitely get there the Saturday before the funeral, but she actually scheduled the Tuesday after. I never received a phone call of the schedule change or I would've said “this was unacceptable” and cancelled. I also saw the mock up of the message card and called immediately to fix it. I was told it was fixed. The package was supposed to then arrive the Tuesday AFTER the funeral (unacceptable) and then it DIDNT COME TUESDAY!
Finally got a call from the manager (where were you this whole time btw?) and she re-scheduled the delivery for almost 2 weeks after the funeral (really?!). The best part of this epic fail is the package showed up with the original misspelled message on it, nobody ever fixed it! The recipient even commented on the horrible typos. We will never ever use this company again. The $20 dollar consolation coupon was like a slap in the face. Don't use this company!

Unknown Caller called stating flowers left on front porch and hung up on me when I asked for a name. Called customer service, got ** who was very difficult to understand. She stated they would re-deliver. I said I want a full refund because the website states 100% satisfaction. She said she cannot give a full refund because flowers were actually delivered. She stated I would only receive 50% refunded. I asked for an email confirmation which did not arrive by 3/18/15 or the refund confirmation.
I called customer service again and spoke with **. He stated he would provide only the $46.64 (half) on my order. I asked for his email address to send him the picture of the horrible, nearly $100 disaster my mother received but he said he did not need to see them. He said they use local florist. I verified he had my email address and all the information needed and again requested a confirmation email be sent regarding the half refund. I received an email from PayPal with Refund from 1800Flowers at 1:15am 3/22/15 stating they credited half back to my card.
These flowers were worth maybe $8.00. This has to be theft by deception, theft of service, misrepresentation to consumers or a host of multiple internet illegal activities. I know no other venue where anyone could offer for sale a good condition corvette and receive 20,000.00 prepaid and have some shady person deliver a heap of junk valued at 10.00 and not face charges. There was no satisfaction. They wanted to deliver the same arrangement the following day but the holiday had pass. Then they wanted the old arrangement back. So I then tried to cancel the chocolate covered strawberries that were to come later and was told I couldn't. It took me the better part of the day to finally get through to a supervisor.
It was not only disgusting how they delivered my gift on what was to be a special day but then added to the angst by treating me like I was bothering them. I have never been so disappointed. I salvaged 3 roses from the two dozen. I have no love for 1-800-Flowers, ProFlowers, etc. but these people ordering bring it on themselves. Order from a local florist that can tell you exactly what is available and for a realistic price, not some unreasonably low price which no florist could possible fill the order and make any money.
You people look at pictures online and think you're going to get some huge arrangement for 40.00 or such or go by stem count which is ridiculous. I am a reputable long time florist and the public does not know how the system works. You are paying a middle man. Call your local florist and pay me the same money you are paying the middle man and we can do you a nice arrangement. We can also do anything you see online. Yes, some of the pictures on this site of received orders are just stupid looking but they came from some disreputable florist. I personally inspect every order that goes out my door. But we are in business to make a profit. Holiday prices always reflect overhead costs. Bottom line: Have a phone conversation with your LOCAL FLORIST!

When they weren't delivered the 3rd time I cancelled & requested to speak with a supervisor. Since no supervisor was available, I was supposed to get a return call. I never did.

Tried ordering Valentine’s Day bouquet for my 93 year old mother -- WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! First delivery on 2/12 was brought to the door, but half the flowers were frozen. Called 1-800-Flowers and after over 20 minutes on hold, FINALLY got a human being (one with limited English, and lots of canned answers). I was told a 2nd replacement order would go through the local florist for local delivery which did not happen. Both deliveries arrived frozen through their UPS contracted service. The second bouquet was delivered on 2/18 at 8:19 at night, with no knock or ringing of the doorbell, and left on the outside steps overnight.
Called UPS and they claimed it was 1-800-Flowers fault for not requesting a signature for the delivery. When trying to contact 1-800-Flowers to resolve the issue the second time, I was on hold for over 40 minutes. Again, the customer service person was heavily accented, plus the connection was poor. I must compliment her - when she put me on hold, the phone disconnected, and she did call back. They finally agreed to a refund, but my mother did not get her flowers, and I went through over 60 minutes on hold with tons of frustration!

I used to LOVE this company. Now, everything has changed. I tried to place an order online but it won't allow my order to ship in 2 days. So, I've decided to place the order over the phone. It was the worst experience ever. Clearly, they had outsource the customer service department. All the operators are foreigners. English clearly is their second language. I can barely understand them when they speak to me and they clearly don't understand me. I had to repeat everything more than twice. I don't mind repeating things as long as they can get it right. After a painful 20 minutes call, they still got everything wrong. I asked the operator to email me the details of my order and she never did. She also gave me the wrong confirmation number. Shortly after I placed the order, the company left me a message saying that they had issues with my order.
I called back and it was deja vu again but this time there was a 10 mins hold on line for them to look up my order. It was crazy. I wanted to cry when she spoke to me. She also constantly putting me on hold. After another 5 mins of that, I told her I can't take it any more and I will call back. I tried calling back again and this time, this operator is a little better but not great. The waiting period for them to look up my order was the same but this time at least I'm able to fix whatever they had issues with. I will not order from them again.

I let it slide since it was Valentine's Day and it was extremely busy. Again, she had not received it. I look it up again on the website to see the status of my order and the company cancelled it.YES, THEY CANCELED MY ORDER! I never received any information about the order being canceled. I immediately looked at my account to see if I was refunded and nope. I called and was on hold for more than 30 minutes! I checked my account again and saw that the payment was cancelled. I will never order from this horrible company ever again! I do not recommend this company to anyone either.

I had ordered a set of flowers to be delivered to my girlfriend in Florida before I arrived on the 12th. They sent me a confirmation saying they would be delivered only between 9am to 5pm since it was to her business address. When I arrived in Florida the evening of the 12th, well after the time frame give to me from 1800-Flowers, NOTHING had been delivered. I had to break the news to her that I had ordered some but obviously they never arrived to her while she was at work. I called on the 17th to see what happened and the representative said they had been delivered and that they sent a confirmation to my email...NOPE!
Neither of those things had happened. I asked them to try again and deliver the flowers to her either that day or the next (the 18th) at the same address I had given them before. The issued me a $20 credit, which at this point I will probably never use. I talked to my girlfriend last night (the 18th) and she still had not received the flowers I had ordered back on the 5th of this month! I am going to try again today to call and see if I can just get my money back since obviously it is almost impossible to deliver flowers to someone in Florida through this company.

The flowers never blossomed, and my fiancee "feed" as it called for and even changed the water twice within the 5 days she had them. I get flowers from local florists and pro-flowers all the time for her and she has never had the problems that she did with these flowers. I do not know what kind of company 1-800-flowers thinks it is, but that is just a joke. They charge crazy amounts for flowers, then have them die within 5 days? I will NEVER buy them again, and I will never recommend this company to anyone looking to surprise their S/O with flowers. I went online again, opened their website. Luckily a chat window opened. It did take her more than 15 minutes and she come back with an answer that they don't have the exact one, and they tried to contact my wife to tell but no answer. They shouldn't call because it is a surprise. Anyway I got very frustrated, and she tried to offer $20 discount versus future buy. I refused and I said I will not trust your company any. I have been a florist since 1983. I have owned my own shop since 1988. The problem lies in the consumer on the 1-800 Flowers Disaster. Customers used to call flower shops in the area they wanted something delivered. Now they all want to go to the computer, push a button and have no personal contact with the flower shop itself.
We are light manufacturers. We order the product, process the flowers, design the flowers and deliver them. If you don't care about personal service you will not get personal service. Calling any internet order processor for flowers is nothing but that. They are call centers with people answering phones that have very little knowledge about flowers, especially at an important day like Valentines Day. Why would you put your loved one's flowers in the hands of a call center?
Please take back the control of your order and call a REAL flower shop in the desired delivery area. If you are taking the time to go to the internet and type in 1-800-Flowers you can just as easily type in "Florist in the City You Wish to Have a Delivery Done!" Mom and Pop flower shops care about customer service and need your business. Grocery stores and the internet order takers don't rely on selling flowers to survive, we do.

My husband ordered what should have been a beautiful arrangement of red tulips and purple iris for Valentine's Day - along with a stuffed teddy bear and chocolates. The box arrived via FedEx around 1:00pm in Michigan, on February 13 (approximate temperature of 0). I took the box home and opened it and the leaves were already wilted and the edges of the flowers starting to turn black, but I hoped to be able to salvage putting them in water and having them in the warmth of the sun, but to no avail.
I tried to contact customer service Saturday morning when the flowers were definitely not going to make it, but after a lengthy hold decided I would call back on Monday. After 17 minutes on hold I got a gentleman who was very difficult to understand who checked with his florists and told them they could come pick up my flowers and re-deliver the same arrangement. I explained that the flowers were at home (soon to be in the garbage) and I was at work. He said they would have to pick up and confirm the condition of the initial arrangement and would redeliver. It is windchill -15 here today and I asked if the delivery could be delayed until warmer when the same things could happen to the arrangement again. He said no. Offered no other resolution - just said sorry and hung up.
I would recommend supporting local florists if at all possible - unless you want incredibly poor customer service (no alternative was offered) and a $75.00 teddy bear. Looks like we are certainly not alone in the poor customer service received - it seems the norm. How long before they've ripped everybody off once and they no longer have a customer base? Just sad that they have celebrity spokespeople who endorse - doesn't look very good for them either.

Everyone should be aware that when ordering from 1-800-Flowers, you might be getting "flowers in a box" that you have to assemble yourself, or delivery by a nearby florist that is a member of their "Bloomnet" network. The local florist that delivers to you only receives about 50% of the money that you pay. 1-800-Flowers is a middleman that takes most of the profit on your order. So, for a $100 flower arrangement, the local florist receives about $50, and from that has to buy flowers & vase, pay the designer, pay delivery driver, etc. So the florist has to minimize what they send to avoid losing money. I advise you to pay the $100 directly to the local florist and you will be much happier with what you receive.

After calling 1800flowers in a panic and sitting on hold 40 minutes I got an operator who had a loose grasp of English at best. She looked on my order and said it was to be delivered today. After I told her what I had found she "looked again" only to confirmed my order had been "bumped" to Tuesday and that she was sorry for the inconvenience. Can you believe that? She was sorry for the inconvenience. They darn sure wanted their 100+ dollars from me as they didn't see that there was any real problem.
The operator attempted to explain that this is a "high volume" time of year. Yeah, no kidding! This is what companies like 1800 flowers exist for! This is why I went with a big name company. Because of the importance of this gift this "time of year". After asking multiple times for a supervisor I was put on hold for almost 40 more minutes. Nowhere in the description did it say this, when I called the associate assured me it was not supposed to be that way! The company has offered me a refundable for one order and a $20 voucher to be used for another order which I declined the voucher! NO THANK YOU! I will take my business elsewhere! If you're in the flower business I expect you to get it right on Valentine's day not four days later!

My husband ordered me a bouquet of flowers for Valentine's Day. He ordered what was to be a large, beautiful arrangement of roses, gerbera daisies, alstroemerias and fillers. It came with 3 roses, no gerbera daisies, and half the alstroemeria were broken. Literally flopping, hanging downward, and the greens were floppy and already dying. He paid nearly $100 for this arrangement and we are very disappointed. Won't be using them ever again. The left is what he ordered, the right is what we received.

I am out 80 dollars and had to spend more money and time to buy more Valentines gifts that I delivered personally. Their terrible delivery service and bad customer service negates the need to use them. Buyer beware. Horrible company.

If you have online ordering with the recipient's zip code, how can you tell me over a week later that the florist you picked does not deliver to that zip code? I was contacted on Thursday to verify recipient address and phone number. My mother was contacted for directions and was told someone would deliver the flowers even though that wasn't the usual delivery area. My mother in law got the candy I ordered and an empty vase with no explanation. They charged me the full price. When I called them, they said they ran out of the flowers I ordered so they didn't send any. They didn't bother substituting so she could have flowers, just sent them an empty vase! Who would do that without a note or apology or anything plus bill me full price? It took me over 45 minutes on hold to talk to anyone about it!

Placed an order to be delivered on 2/13/15 to our home for Valentine's Day for my fiance. We waited around all afternoon and evening. At around 6pm, the status tracker changed to "delivered." Strange, I thought, as no one had knocked on our door, but I checked the front porch thinking maybe they just left it. Nope. Nothing. I called and gave up after waiting on hold for over an hour and not speaking with anyone. Flowers never arrived.
At 7 am 2/14/15, I called and managed to get a representative. She stated that they had attempted delivery at "8:08 PM but no one was available." So, two hours AFTER they claimed the flowers had been delivered, they made some phantom attempt that we didn't hear? I'm upset saying there's no way we'll get them now, and she PROMISES ME that they will be delivered today.
At 3:30PM, I receive a phone call from someone who states that they're busy, and the flowers will be here Monday afternoon. No. Absolutely not. "Okay then, we'll credit your money back" was his response. No apology. It's now 4pm on Valentine's Day and there's no way I can get flowers from somewhere else at this point. Disgusted.

I then asked for a refund and they said they can only refund me 50%!?! Basically, I'm forced to take the flowers on Monday which is a little too late. I want people to know what a rip off place this is. I am completely appalled by the products I have received from this company. I ordered through 1-800-flowers once or twice before, and never received a product that even remotely resembled having any sort of quality.
I ordered this: ELEGANT RED ROSE, Product Code: 101169, Delivery Date: 02/13/2015, Quantity: 1 on February 9th to be delivered to my wife's work as a surprise valentine's day gift. It's what I do every year. However I do not normally purchase flowers from 1-800-flowers, with good reason. The plant my wife received is of subpar quality to say the least. The picture of what I thought I purchased is an appalling misrepresentation of the product that my wife received. It is an embarrassment to me to have such a sad pathetic product that was supposed to represent my deep feelings for her delivered to my wife's place of work.
The picture of the "Elegant Rose" was far from elegant. In the picture there were over a dozen beautiful roses in full bloom. The one my wife received had 5 at best. One was in full bloom, one was broken and bent into the plant, and the other 3 had bloomed some time ago apparently, because the petals are falling off or already did. Even the leaves are dried out and curling. I ordered from 1-800-flowers one time before and swore I would never order from you again, because once again the product was junk.
Now here I am kicking myself for not following the promise I made to myself. There is no way I will ever order from your company again. Trust me; I am going to spread this message everywhere I can regarding your lousy, no good, poorest excuse for flowers that I, or anyone, have ever seen. Now I have to go out to get my wife some roses for Valentine's Day. Thanks for nothing.

I recently ordered flowers for my girlfriend. After ordering, I realized I had entered the wrong address. No problem right? Just call a 1-800-Flowers associate and get them to change it.....right? Wrong! I was put in contact with April who could barely speak/understand English. After several, and I do mean SEVERAL minutes, we got the whole address thing straight. I decided the following day to call, just to make sure April did understand what I was saying. I'm not sure his name but another gentleman speaking broken English answers the phone. After several more minutes, I realize that April did change the address but again it was incorrect.
We get it changed and the following day (delivery day), we receive a knock on the door. My girlfriend opens the door and finds a box of hastily left flowers. That's right, the UPS guy slings the box at the door, knocks and runs. I realize he isn't a flower delivery guy.....no fault of his own. I just didn't realize 1-800-Flowers was using UPS. The box was addressed to me!! I mean come on, somehow during one of the phone calls, they changed the recipient to me. Anyway no big deal, at least they got there on the day specified, even though they weren't arranged nicely by a local florist, just jammed in a box and handed to UPS. I guess this is what needs to happen for people to realize that big, impersonal companies like this do whatever they can to cut costs and increase productivity. I will never use 1-800-Flowers again.

I placed an order for international delivery on February 12th, with a next day delivery guarantee. I did get a confirmation that my order was placed, but I was never updated when the delivery was made, and the site was never updated either. Luckily, the recipient did receive the Valentine roses. The delivery was on time, however, the pictures she sent of the flowers were not as beautiful as the image on the site. The vase was a lot smaller, the flowers were not in water, and instead of a red bow, the vase was tied with a yellow one. This was India, so I just chalked it up to their customs, maybe.
Anyway, ordering was a breeze, minus 1 small issue - the address box wasn't long enough, so I had to speak with a rep to make sure that the entire address was posted. The live chat was pleasant and the rep was professional and accurate. I'm generally satisfied, as I was too late to place an order for the 13th with more popular companies, and 1-800-flowers came to my rescue. I would definitely use the site again. :)

Learned my ultimate lesson, if you want something done right, just do it yourself. Valentine's day, I expect to wow my wife with a bunch of tulips as is her favorite flower. I've been working a lot lately and I had no time to pick out and arrange flowers myself, which I normally do. Saw the awesome arrangement online and expected my wife to be in for a big surprise. Let's just say I'm glad I was the one who saw the package first to do major damage control. I expected a nice flower arrangement. What I found was a box by the front door. It was a bunch of tulips and a vase that they expect my wife to arrange herself. Like that's going to bring a smile like what you promised, right? Ok, no biggie, tried to collect myself and arrange it before my wife wakes up from her nap.
To make this short, let me just attach photos of the advertised product, what I received, how I arranged it with what they provided, and the final arrangement that I had to do which I could've done far better and cheaper if I had just marched to my local grocery store and picked out the flowers to arrange myself.

This customer service department was the most clueless I have ever dealt with. The most untrustworthy as well. I was able to talk with the florist they were using for my delivery and found out the truth. Basics were that I ordered flowers for my wife for Valentines day. My wife made a last minute decision to be away from our house, where the delivery was supposed to happen. I called 1-800 a few hours prior to the delivery beginning time to get information to make sure we had the flowers delivered and save the holiday for my wife. On my call I pleaded with the rep to contact the florist they used for our flower delivery...
1-800 advised they had talked with the florist that they working with for my delivery and that the florist did not wish for me to contact them, did not want me to know who they were, and their delivery person did not own a cell phone and could not be contacted to make arrangement for the delivery contrary to the original order? A delivery drive without a cell phone....Really? LIES.
The florist's delivery driver left a note with her cell number when we were unable to have someone at the house. The note had all of the florists information and a note to call me to make sure I can get the flowers on time. When I called the florist she advised that 1-800's rep was short and not very helpful, that the rep did not ask any of the questions they claimed that they asked and that it was silly that the florist would not give out their info when they wish for the end user to know who made their flower basket in the hopes for future business.
I had to drive to the florist so that I could receive the flowers the same day as it would have been, the only way to ensure that my wife had received her gift. 1-800 called again to advise that they could try and make other arrangements for my delivery, oblivious that I had already picked the flowers up myself. I advised them that I had to go pick the flowers up myself since they could not simply give me a number to contact the florist myself. They ignored my requests to refund my service charge of $18.00 that was added to my order for the delivery. They refused even though this entire problem could have been avoided if they would have simply done their job.
I do not know which country these reps are in, but maybe their understanding of great customer service is one that rewards stupidity and laziness. Do yourself a favor and never order from 1-800. Stick with your local florists. They have better customer service and are more accountable.

I accepted that and forgot the incident, as an anomaly. In February 2015 I ordered flowers for my wife, her mother and my mother, delivered to the two mothers' Nursing Homes, and my wife's school. All of the flowers arrived looking like they'd been stored in a freezer. Both my mother's and my wife's, which I've seen, had blossoms and buds broken off or wilted down. The foliage was crumpled, folded in on itself, and dead. My mother in law's flowers were in the same condition. When I said yes, I was put on hold, and then disconnected.

The florist wanted to cancel because they were out of stock of the item(s) requested. 800-flowers upon me contacting them, stated they would attempt to find another florist to fulfill the order with a substitute/comparable item the next day which was unacceptable because I already had a delivery scheduled for 2-13-2015.
I let the rep know that the missed delivery ruined the cycle of deliveries and they insisted on trying to have the order fulfilled the next day, resulting in 2 deliveries on 1 day... 1800 Flowers NOT military friendly. Order # **. First, 1800 Flowers customer service is outsourced to somewhere in the Philippines so don’t expect a lot of support for international orders. I am currently serving in Afghanistan. I ordered Valentine's Day flowers for my girl who is in Europe from Raymond #unknown. Raymond assured me that 1800 Flowers was capable of international orders. When ordering I specifically asked if they could deliver to her location by the 11th and they said yes.
The order day came and went and after calling 1800 Flowers from Afghanistan and waiting for an hour they finally told me that although I had been charged and my order confirmed that there wasn't a florist available in that area. Additionally, they could not find any option which isn't shocking the week of Valentines. I asked them why they confirmed an order they couldn't fill and why I hadn't been notified, but of course they didn't have an answer. They only offered me my money back so I could order flowers from somewhere else. Way to go 1800 Flowers. I explained to them that it’s too late and being in Afghanistan I don't have a lot of options, but the operator and the supervisor seemed completely indifferent. Operator info Charlene #** and her supervisor was Maria #**.
I called back the next day and spoke to Pauline #** (hung up on me on accident) and Jane #** who had a different story that the florist couldn't find the address. I asked them why the florist hadn't called the local numbers I provided when I ordered for directions and they didn't have an answer. I asked why the story changed. They didn't have an answer. They put me on hold for about 20 minutes while they said they called the florist direct. Supposedly the florist said they would deliver on the twelfth. I called back again and spoke to Rain #** who told me that they can’t call the florist direct, but later recanted and said maybe they could. So somewhere somebody is either untrained or not telling the truth about talking to the florist. Rain then put me on hold for 41 minutes and never came back. I remind you that I calling from Afghanistan.
So I call back again, this time I talk to Stacia #unknown/best English so far (told me that she doesn't have a number). So now they are lying about not having numbers. She passed me to yet another supervisor. Right now I am on the phone for another 15 minutes to cancel my order. Customer service said they called (not true) and they emailed me (not true as well). It took 35 minutes to cancel and get my money back. Bottom line, 1800 flowers failed to deliver my order by more than 48 hours, their customer support line changed their story at least three time which indicates they are either inept or lying. When I asked for my money back they said it would be sometime before they could because how busy they are with Valentine’s Day and all.
So if you are going to order flowers, order from anyone else on the planet especially if you are military in Afghanistan because although I explained at least 8 times that they cannot call me in Kabul they kept saying they would call me back. They also said they would email me, to which I received only 1 email asking for customer service feedback. I will be reposting my issue on customer advocacy websites, military support websites, Facebook, Twitter, you name it.

Fired for attempting to correct company mistake. First of all, the training was gruelling-it began in early afternoon & ran past 10 p.m.; though we had been told that it would be 6 hours. This seemed to be some kind of test because if you had to leave because you had only arranged child care for 6 hrs or some other commitment, you were done/fired. Several ppl were stressed and had to call family or friends to watch their children. (Southern Oregon is a financially strapped area, so they knew they could get away with this).
Secondly we were told customer service is "everything" & all important but when I attempted to follow through on a complaint, "escalating" this problem higher up as I'd been trained to do- I was fired! When I attempted to learn the reason, I was told that I should have "taken care of the problem". But, I objected, we had been told to tell/ volunteer to get a manager, plus tell the customer that this was what we were doing. When I reiterated what I had been told was "procedure" the woman merely stared at me, then told me to remove my stuff from my assigned locker...
Later, when I compared notes with others that had been treated the same way; I was told that only 3 ppl were retained from each training session & that I shouldn't have taken the "customer service policy" so literally. They could have been much more honest about this!

My wife placed an online order for a friend whose mother just passed away. My wife placed the order for a decent size bouquet and they charged the card. The order was placed just prior 2PM, the deadline for the delivery to occur that day. Come 9PM, and I have to contact my friend to find out the delivery did not occur. So my wife calls customer service. They cannot find the order.
On our side, my wife was using their app on her smartphone which glitched a bit, and she entered ".com" for her email as ".con", so we didn't get a confirmation email. However, as stated, no service rep (we talked to two) could find the order. Partially I think was due to non-English speaking reps. I made the second call and got transferred to a billing rep who did speak English and found the order, supposedly delivered at 2PM(?) but the local florist... I was beside myself. There was also a delay in phone service where we kept inadvertently interrupting each other, which in itself was frustrating to both of us enough.
Ultimately, she offered to resend the florist out and deliver the flowers, and gave me an order number, and offered to correct the email, and give a $20 gift certificate. Still, I am quite saddened by having to put this confusion onto someone who is obviously grieving - and that is the moral of this story. We are trying to express our well wishes and sympathy in a timely manner, and chose to use the "service" for ease. Based on the number of poor reviews here, it would be greatly appreciated if the managers and executives of the company keep this firmly in mind while building their company, we really don't want to have to deal with these problems. We just want to send the darn flowers. We are sad too.

I have dealt with 1-800-Flowers a number of times in the past and was essentially happy, but not this time; and it will be the LAST TIME. Lovely sympathy flowers were ordered for home delivery to a friend newly widowed. The order was placed on 2/2/2015 for delivery to my husband's office on 2/4/2015 so he could take the arrangement the rest of the way to a location not on a delivery route. NO SHOW. Then we were promised delivery on the 5th. NO SHOW even though my husband stayed beyond work hours in case the delivery was late. Next we were promised delivery on the 9th...NO SHOW...10th...NO SHOW...11th. Each time required lengthy waits to talk to a real person and then apologies and excuses.
They finally gave me the name of the local provider along with an absolute promise of delivery between 1 and 5 today, the 11th. I wasn't sure I believed this and in the late afternoon called the local florist to find out...they had no order! They were good enough to check with all of their outlets and none of them had the order. I decided to order locally over the phone from this contract provider and 30 minutes later a pretty arrangement was ready for my husband to pick up. I should have dealt local from the beginning!!
I received a phone call at 4:15 from 1-800-Flowers saying the promised order could not be delivered today and would I like it tomorrow!! My response was a concise "NO"!!! I wrote a very detailed email to 1-800-Flowers and have told them I want my money back. Oh, I just received a second phone call from the same person trying to "make it right" still again. I hung up on him. I have been told it will be 10 - 12 days before my account is credited. They have had my money since 2/2/2015 and despite my many calls to them, 9 days later...no flowers, just an offer of delivery "tomorrow." I gave them every benefit of the doubt for far too long. Think carefully before ordering from this business unless you see a surge of positive reviews appearing.

I ordered a rose plant from them with a cute bird pot. The pot is very cute but the rose plant is very tiny, frankly too small for the pot. Apparently they are too cheap to have the right size rose in the pot. On top of that, only one rose was blooming. There are several more buds...hopefully they flower and not just fall off. A fly came out after I opened it and the leaves were wilted. They shipped it from MI to WI UPS ground. I expected it to come from a local florist that on their website is associated with 1-800-Flowers.
The only positive thing I can say is they did deliver on time. But this is a rather poor plant, very embarrassing gift to my mom! Frankly I could have bought a better rose plant with a dozen or more roses in bloom at the grocery store or local Stein's for less money! It is a rip-off! I will not do business with them again! Stick with your local florist or even the grocery store. This place is a royal rip-off. The rose looks ridiculous. It is so small and this was a small pot to begin with, and yet the rose is too small for it. I wish I had seen all the negative reviews before I bought it! I won't make the same mistake again.

Just tried to contact 1800 Flowers to have a bouquet sent to my Aunt on her birthday. Not only was the woman virtually impossible to understand, she then told me that my requested zip code had been cut off from delivery. When I asked her why, she gave an explanation that hardly made any sense and then when I asked to speak to a supervisor, she told me they were "too busy" due to Valentine's Day. I told her I would wait on hold for her and then when she placed me on hold she hung up on me. First time ever considering using this service and I am appalled by the horrible customer service I just experienced. Will never in my life think of ordering from them again and I suggest you don't plan on giving them your business. Awful first impression.

Flowers were ordered for daughter-in-law who had just lost her uncle. They were to be delivered on Sat. morning (paid extra). Claim address as "undeliverable" (home address) by local (?) flower shop. Second time 1-800 messed up delivery to same address. Over one hour on the phone for a refund because they wanted to deliver the flowers to the home on the morning of the funeral when the family would be out of town. It took talking to two different foreign employees, an hour on the phone and extreme anger to get a full refund. Then when I was told I would get confirmation within 10 minutes via email of the refund, I needed to contact my credit card company to verify the refund - yes, no email confirmation! I ordered flowers to be delivered to my bil and sil for Christmas. As I was extremely busy I didn't go to the local florist and pay delivery - instead assuming that they would receive what was pictured online (or something comparable to such). When I went to their home 3 days later, saw the tiny little arrangement they had received with half dead flowers. I was so embarrassed. Definitely not the type of company I will ever deal with again.

Called to find out why not delivered and to get a refund (you will be calling the Philippines BTW). Said it would take 7-10 days to process the refund. Called 3 weeks later and was told that was wrong.. Since I paid with Paypal it would be 4-6 weeks because they issue a paper check. What a scam.... They are hoping check gets lost or not cashed, etc...Paypal is an immediate payment to them but we wait 4-6 weeks for refund plus the undelivered arrangement makes us look like idiots to the receiving party. I received an email that evening from the company informing me that my order had been delivered. Once I found out from the recipient that they had not been delivered, I attempted to contact 1800FLOWERS the following day, 2/4/15, but after being on hold for over one and a half hours, I hung up - VERY frustrated. Turns out, my arrangement was delivered on 2/4/15. I needed them to be delivered on 2/3/15 for a one day memorial service at a friend's home. I spoke to two people yesterday on the phone for over an hour, getting one excuse after another - blaming the florist, etc.
I informed them that since they did not delivered the arrangement as promised, that I wanted a full refund. Of course, that was out of the question - not their policy. IF they did issue me a full refund, they informed me that the florist that delivered the arrangement could return to the house and take the arrangement back! OMG, is that ridiculous? I placed an order to be delivered to my fiancé on 12/24/14 at her workplace. I placed it ahead of the 1 pm cutoff time that guarantees same day delivery. I later called with a simple question regarding my order: “If she were to leave early, could we possibly send it to her home?” What ensued was quite unexpected.
The first representative I spoke with told me someone was working on my order and would call me soon; however, we could redirect the order if need be. He said someone should call me within 30 minutes but wasn't sure why my order was being worked on. I received a call about an hour later stating that the florist had attempted to deliver the flowers but the recipient was not available. As my fiancé was the only person in the building and works the front desk, I knew that couldn't be correct. My fiancé then informed me that she received a call from the florist shortly thereafter stating that 1800flowers had offered insufficient payment to make her bouquet so they had to renegotiate the amount and, by the time they reached a satisfactory amount, the last delivery van for the day had left so they would not fulfill the order.
I called 1800flowers back and was told the order had been canceled and that my card would not be charged. I asked if I was to receive any compensation for the fact I'd had to make multiple phone calls to 1800flowers, my fiancé, AND the local florist to even figure out what was going on. The response was that I wouldn't be charged. No apology. No expression of understanding. Nothing.
I understand Christmas Eve is a hectic time for those in the service industry; however, that's not what caused the issue. I placed an order, "satisfaction guaranteed", which wasn't fulfilled not due to an inability to do so but simply because the florist involved wasn't making as much as he'd like to on the order. By the time he felt like he was getting a fair price, he refused to even deliver it because they had sent out all of their delivery vans. On top of that, 1800flowers was so slow in communicating the situation that, by the time I was informed of the situation, it was too late to move the order to another florist. All in all, they mucked up a Christmas Eve surprise pretty well for me.
I wrote 1-800-flowers online regarding my experience. The response was simple: “We already refunded your money, we look forward to your business.” I was blown away. Is this seriously how this company treats their customers? I'm very disappointed with my experience and haven't used the service since. They claim a "100% satisfaction guarantee" but, when the company drops the ball, they make absolutely no attempt to satisfy their customer. When 1800flowers was unable to fulfill its obligation, I was simply refunded my money and not even offered an apology.
I figured I'd write in, thinking maybe that would get a response. I wrote a letter, mailed it to them, and never heard back. I'm absolutely disgusted at the incompetence and lack of professionalism displayed by this company. All in all, this is by far the worst customer service experience I've ever had. Period. I highly recommend you take your business elsewhere.

Day two I call the company to see what was going on. I was told that they tried all available flower shops in the area and none could fill the order. I was given a $20 gift card and decided on a new bouquet that I was told by the representative the shop could fill.
Day 3 still no delivery of the arrangement. I was flying to the area the next day so I called, expressed my frustration and cancelled the order. Again I was given the run around by the representative and told they would issue me another $20 gift card, which I never received. Skip forward to January 30, 2015 at 0200. I decided to use the one gift card to send another same day bouquet. I figured it's 0200 they have plenty of notice to have this order filled. Boy was I wrong again.
Again with no call or email saying why they couldn't deliver. I called customer service at 1900 and asked what the deal was and I was told the florist in the area did not have a lemon wedge to place in the vase. Unbelievable I again went rounds with the rep. I told them there is no need for a lemon wedge in the first place. They said they would contact the florist and let them know but the flowers couldn't be delivered that day. They then proceeded to tell me that they will have the bouquet delivered ASAP on the 31st.
Today the 31st of January. I wait all day having hope I wasn't just getting the run around. Well wouldn't you know? 1900 rolls around and nothing. Not a call. Not an email. Nothing. A family member of mine passed away and I ordered a funeral arrangement to be delivered to a funeral home. Though my credit card was charged the arrangement was never delivered. I found this out a week later. I immediately called 1-800flowers and inquired. They confirmed that the flowers had not been delivered. The reason they gave was that there was no florist in the area that they had an association with.
When I became irate and asked to speak with a manager the agent informed me that they could deliver the arrangement immediately. My response to this was where did a florist miraculously appear in the area? Of course he could not answer. After numerous requests I was eventually connected to someone claiming to be a supervisor. She reiterated that they could now deliver the arrangement. When I inquired how she said they would be sent via UPS. I then asked why they were not delivered using UPS prior to the funeral I did not get an answer.
I then requested that a credit be issued to my credit card. I was told that I would receive a confirmation e-mail regarding the credit; however after making two phone calls I still don't have an e-mail confirming that a credit has been issued. I was even told by the last agent that she would personally call me in 15 minutes to confirm that I had received the e-mail. It took two hours for me to receive the call and the confirmation e-mail.
This entire ordeal has caused major problems for my family. It now appears that we did not pay proper respects to a cousin who nurtured and cared for us for years. If the agent would have offered to deliver the flowers, issue a discount AND send the family of the deceased an apology for THEIR ERROR I would have accepted that. Instead I'm left embarrassed, heartbroken and still grieving.

Ordered the best Christmas Tree shaped flower arrangement for my mom to be delivered to my friend's house on Christmas Eve and given to my mom that night. My friend texts me a picture of it at work when it arrives. First, it wasn't clear that it was coming from a local florist. My last order came in a 1800flowers box and actually looked great. This time I noticed it was already set up because it came from a local florist. Ok fine, but it was wrong and nothing like what I ordered. It looks like they sent me the $60 one when I paid for the $120 one. Fine, it still looks ok so just give me my $60 back and let's be done with it because it's already Christmas Eve.
No way! Waited on the phone for an hour just to get a condescending Indian who couldn't understand English. I'm a passive and patient person but I eventually blew my stack and he finally started understanding English a little better. The idiots that run this company think they're saving money outsourcing these jobs but they're actually running off all of their customers and losing in the long run. So he says he'll call the florist, comes back quickly and says they'll call me in a few minutes. It was getting close to 5 and I imagined the florist would close at some point.
I had my friend call the florist, because I had wasted too much time at work already dealing with this. Friend gets answering machine saying they were busy but would get back to us ASAP. That's all the customer service rep must have done was left a message and then lied to me that they would call me back, pretending he actually talked to them. The florist never called back obviously and suspiciously closed at 5 on Christmas Eve, probably heading for the hills with all the money they stole that day before the suckers show up looking for their real flowers.
The arrangement I ordered was supposed to have roses. $120 for an arrangement without roses. The local florist was Austin's Flowers in Wetumpka, Al. I had no choice but not to pursue because time is money and sitting on hold for an hour is a huge waste of time and money for me. So if I can prevent just a few people from giving either company their business then I will have done a good deed and made it less profitable for them to treat people like this.

My mother-in-law died and the short, family only service was at the funeral home at 10 am. My daughter (by a previous marriage) lives in Massachusetts and wanted to send flowers since she couldn't be there. At 99 years old Mom had no friends left and my daughter felt bad that there would not be many flowers. I gave her local florists but she wanted to see pictures of the choices and locals did not have any so she looked up 800flowers and went thru the local florist they had listed. This was on Wednesday for a Friday service.
On that same Wednesday she received an email confirmation they had been delivered. No flowers. Family was at the funeral home from 10-11 and then proceeded to the cemetery. No flowers. At some point they were delivered to the cousin (who had made the funeral arrangements) because it was too late for the service. When she found this out she was in tears, the whole point of sending them was moot. When she called 800 they said since she placed the order thru the local florist they weren't responsible. When she called the local florist in Cranston they lied, told her they were there at 9am on Friday and it was over and everyone was gone. Besides, they couldn't understand why she was so upset, after all they were in a nice vase that would look good in the cousin's home!
Now for the credit card company...they wouldn't stand behind it because they were to be delivered by the day of the funeral and they were. Since they did not specify a delivery TIME, it didn't matter! The local florist is listed in the yellow pages as 800 flowers with no other florist name. The local phone number is 401-942-4040 and they are at 100 Chapel View Blvd. She got taken by all involved! Disgusting that even for a funeral they don't give a damn! The receipt is an email and cannot attach.

The next day, a different customer service rep replied to my 2nd email saying that the order was already processed so she was unable to make any changes but she assured me that it was fine.
So, my daughter's birthday came and went. I didn't ask her if she received the flowers when I spoke to her that day, but when she never mentioned them, I became concerned. 4 days later, I asked her if she received flowers from me. Her answer was no. The order never went through. Over the course of a week, I went through 6 customer service reps. I was dumbfounded. It was as if my complaint was passed around, with NO ONE reading the previous complaints. Also, some of the email responses were in broken English. They claim that they tried to call me at the phone number of **. Obviously, a fake, made-up number. The most recent email has put me over the edge. They will not refund my money, and will only give me partial credit for the shipping charge.

Placed order on 1-8-15 for delivery on 1-12-15 for wife's birthday. Order did not arrive on time & when contacted, no reason or compensation was offered. Online tracking showed the flowers being delivered on the 12th & customer service (after contacting the florist) said they would be delivered on the 12th. They were not and as of 1/13/15 at 12:00 pm, they still have not arrived. This is the 2nd time in a row that the 1-800-Flowers florist that handles the zip code 32837 in Orlando, FL has delivered an order the day after the specified date. Stick with your local florists. It may seem more convenient to order online, but you'll probably save yourself future headaches & stress.

I learned that the gift I ordered on line from 1-800-flowers.com arrived with a greeting card bearing the names of people other than myself. My friend had to call the company to find out who actually sent her the gift. When I called the company to complain about their error and asked if they could compensate me in some way, they promised to investigate and call me back to let me know how they could compensate me. This never happened. I called 3 more times and spoke to different reps, and only after I threatened to write a negative review on the Internet was I promised I would receive a refund of 50% and a gift certificate for future use. I asked that they send an email confirming this refund. They all promised to do so. One rep even took all my phone numbers and promised to call me back in one hour to confirm that the email had gone out and to be sure I had received it. That was on 1/11/15. That rep never called me back and, once again, I did not receive the email or the refund.
Today (1/12/15) I called again. Reached another rep who refused to let me speak with a supervisor as did all the reps that I have spoken with throughout this experience. Today's rep again promised the very same thing as all the previous reps and told me I would have the email within 24 hours. This last rep at least gave me his employee number (but I don't know that it is legitimate because they have no credibility with me). I do not know if I will ever receive my refund or gift certificate, but I doubt it. I feel 1-800-flowers.com not only delivers very poor customer service but actually engages in deceptive customer service practices. I would not recommend using this service, as you would have no recourse if something goes wrong with your order. I cannot imagine why such a large and profitable company would engage in such practices and risk losing so much future business. They obviously do not care about getting repeat customers, so "let the buyer beware."

Two separate times I have been connected to 1800-flowers scams. The first occasion was a group arrangement for a funeral. We made it very clear to "1-800" that it was a one-day wake. Over 10 of us went to a wake for an afternoon viewing. No flowers. They promised it would be there for the first viewing. This arrangement was order several days before. At the end of the first viewing I got on the phone with 1-800. They very calmly said, "oh hold on let us call the florist in the area". 1-800 said the florist didn't get the order until that morning when they opened shop and didn't have enough time to get it to the funeral parlor. I said, “I'd like to cancel.” I was told, “We can't cancel until delivery hasn't been made by 7pm.” I called my local florist because we were all so embarrassed the flowers never came. They said, “No problem it will be there in two hours.”
The 1800-flowers were never delivered and I never got a refund. I wanted to know the name of the local florist that had been sent the request from 1800. They said “OUR POLICY IS to never disclose the local florist.” Could you please tell me what the incentive is for a local florist who is not accountable to anyone to make a timely arrangement? There is none. Recently (early Jan. 2015) another funeral arrangement was ordered from 1800. The family said the wake was from 3-6pm only. My cousin who ordered an arrangement said 1800 said no problem, the arrangement will be there before 3pm. I attended the wake and left at 5:00pm. The funeral director said as I was calling 1800, “Let me guess ‘1800 flowers’?” I said, “Yes why?” He said the only people immediately on the phone at wakes with a problem with flower delivery is 1800-flowers. He said, “Call your credit card company and cancel the order. It's a scam!!!”
The joke of all of this is when the order was made, they promised to deliver by 3. 1800 preys on the vulnerable. How about the unimaginable amount of people who have ordered flowers for a funeral but never attended to see if they were ever delivered? SCAM. 1800 knowingly takes orders for funeral arrangements. Never tells customer they have until 7pm to deliver. Are you kidding? Never will I use them again. I tell everyone I know they are preying on the vulnerable.

So I checked the bank and lo and behold, 1-800-Flowers hit my account for $82.56!!! I call them and they tried to tell me that my bank held the money, but we both know that wasn't true and my bank confirmed it. After speaking with someone from around the globe!!! I ordered a floral arrangement for my wife for our 14th anniversary. The photo shows a large bouquet of beautiful red flowers. Well my wife received a green plant that looks like it is dying. I called, complained to their customer support line. Obviously the support staff cannot speak or comprehend normal English language. It took me 3 agents, before I could understand what they had to say. I felt as if I was not being understood by the service reps. I politely asked if I could be transferred to someone who speaks my language. The answer was they did not have that ability. Supposedly I will receive a 50% refund on my order, and they have committed to Sending the correct arrangement by Tuesday. This worked out perfect because my mother didn't get out of surgery until noon. After waiting until 8 pm I called to check on my mom and to see if the flowers had arrived. She told me no, so I gave 1800flowers a little slack and waited until 12 pm on Dec 12 to call. Not necessary, I just wanted the flowers delivered. I waited until 8 pm and talked with my mom again. No Flowers!
This morning I was on the phone for 15 min trying to hash out the problem. The only thing I got was an apology and a reassurance the flowers would be delivered today. Hearing that I cancelled the order and told them they lost my business forever. I was apologized to again and made aware my account would be credited in 5-7 business days. It's funny how that works since it was drafted the day I placed the order. At that point I was so frustrated I just hung up. This was the worst experience I've had ordering any product! On Monday 12/8/14 I ordered flowers and chocolate covered strawberries to be delivered to my girlfriend at her office on her birthday, 12/11/14. Yesterday, as the morning hours came and went, I started to become slightly nervous that I had not yet received any sort of email confirmation that my order would be delivering. When I received an email at 12:15 however, my immediate concerns were put to ease when I received an email notification that your "expert florists were getting ready to deliver a smile!" "Fantastic!" I thought.
But then as the afternoon hours started ticking by, and I had not received any indication from the recipient that she had gotten a surprise flower arrangement, I again became increasingly nervous that my order would not be delivered to her by the time she left the office building at 5 pm. "Of course they will deliver on time." I thought to myself, "This is a company that has built its core on the 'arrangement of smiles' and on-time delivery for special occasions and events." Well, this is where I was wrong.
At 4 pm, with less than an hour to spare before the recipient would be leaving the office for the night, I put a call into the 1-800-Flowers customer service line and I received overwhelming reassurance that my order would make it to her office any minute. Although it sounded like he was speaking from some overseas call center, the man was very polite and I bit into every word he fed me. "Our team will be keeping a close eye on this order, sir, and I will make sure that you are notified as soon as the order is delivered. "
At 5 pm, my phone rang... it was the recipient calling. For certain I thought she was calling me to express her thanks and happiness for the beautiful arrangement and strawberries she received. Again, I was wrong. She left her office at 5pm, same time as everyday, never having received her birthday flowers I was so incredibly excited to surprise her with. Being forced to spoil my own surprise (I absolutely LOVE surprises and can't stand when they are spoiled), I had to ask her "Wait... so did you get the flowers I sent you?" Well, by now we know the answer.
Incredibly frustrated but remaining calm and polite, I called the customer service line again in search of an answer as to what could have possible gone wrong with my order. The woman on the line actually even confirmed with me over the phone that the order showed in her system as "not delivered" and asked to put me on hold to get more information. After nearly a 5 minute hold, she got back on the line and told me that the flowers were delivered. "When?" I asked inquisitively. "Well, just now..." she said with a bit of hesitation. It was about 5:15 at this point. The surprise had been ruined, the flowers and chocolate covered berries not received, and a smile most certainly was not delivered.
The customer service representative's initial offer to me for a $20 gift voucher was nothing short of an insult. She countered with a $20 gift voucher and a $10 refund. Again, insulting. How could you expect me to be a return customer if I can't even trust that your service is reliable? Aside from the reliability aspect, the thought of having to nervously wait in anticipation all day again is already giving me anxiety. Her final offer was merely a 50% refund, or she could give me a full refund but the flowers would have to be returned. Incredibly aggravated by the whole process but not wanting to leave my girlfriend without any flowers at a all, I politely thanked the CS rep for her assistance and accepted the 50% refund.
The main problem here is that it's not as much about the money as it is about the principle that 1-800-Flowers claims their service is built on "delivering smiles." In the event where a smile is not delivered, where is this so-called '100% Smile Guarantee?' It's really more like a '50% Smile Guarantee,' if you can even call it that. Simply unacceptable.
As an owner of a sales and customer service oriented company producing custom t-shirts, if I don't deliver an order on-time for a date specific event, I am 100% responsible for that order - not my customer. This is a no-brainer. How can you charge someone in full for an order that was needed for an event on specific date and was not received? Likewise, how does 1-800-Flowers maintain any sense of integrity by offering a bogus 50% refund (at the most) for birthday flowers that didn't reach the recipient within the delivery hours window? This order was placed with more than enough time, and there is absolutely no reason why this order wasn't delivered first thing in the morning or close to it.
I'm left only with these final thoughts as I write this message... A 100% refund should be the only obvious CS measure to correct a problem such as mine. Otherwise, I could never in my right mind recommend the use of 1-800-Flowers to anyone I know. In fact, I feel it's now my duty and obligation to make sure I inform all of my friends and loved ones of my experience, and that they should know why the service is not reliable and to stay away from it for date-specific deliveries as it can't be trusted, and the company does not stand behind their 100% guarantee.
