The driver front airbag inflator may rupture

Honda and Nissan are recalling 1,318,212 vehicles manufactured with Takata PSDI-5D driver air bag inflators.

Due to a manufacturing error, the inflator may not function properly or may explode in a crash that necessitates airbag deployment.

An explosion of an inflator may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver, front seat passenger or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

What to do

Takata will work with affected OEM's who will be replacing the driver front airbag module free of charge.

Owners may contact Takata customer service at (248) 373-8040.
