I did not sign up for the monthly subscription. I had only agreed to the $1 charge for the information I received. I discovered the monthly charges three months later. When I contacted PublicRecordsData.us through their chat, they canceled my subscription and said they would refund the three months. I will check to make sure in a week or so. But they were courteous and prompt with their service.

A charge I didn’t expect for a subscription I didn’t sign up for was quickly resolved by this chat assistant and I am deeply grateful.

I accidentally signed up for some sort of membership that kept billing me, I was frustrated but the support staff immediately canceled the membership and refunded the charge. I will update if I don't get the refund but as of right now I'm very happy with the service.

This site asked for a payment for the information I wanted but then somehow without me understanding it subscribed me to a monthly fee. I was able to go to the chat bot and could have called for emailed and canceled the account and they say they will refund the monthly fee which was very easy but I should have known prior.

Ryan refunded me promptly so you get a 4 star. You lose that star because you also falsely advertised a title report for $1 and then charged me $36 when I declined all other option outside of the $1 report. Not cool and you shouldn't be trying to make money off people with some bogus technicality.

There was nothing that stated there is a 36-dollar fee for reports. There was a 1$ fee to get the report I requested though. After you put in the information to charge your credit card $1.00 they immediately charge your card $36.00. What they do is immediately enter your information as a subscription to their service. After several e mails I checked my credit card account and found the charge for $36.00. So I sent them a e mail and they said they would cancel the subscription (that I never agreed to) so I won't be charged in the future. There was no offer to return the 36 dollars that was essentially stolen from me. Then I had to send them an e mail with the subject line REFUND. When I looked up this website online it seems the central theme was this company has a hidden monthly fee that you are trapped in without your knowledge. I never signed up for a subscription.

They gave us the report, but they hide the real fee behind fine print. They advertise that the reports only cost $1, but they sign you up for their $35 auto renewing monthly subscription with no clear indication aside from checking your bank account. It's a predatory practice that borders on fraud, but I can only assume it doesn't cross that threshold based solely on technicality. Their customer support will also dodge questions in your attempts to get a refund and try to only send the most boilerplate responses.

I would say that this is not a good set up. They will try to charge you without actually telling you if the report applies to you. These are public records and they hide a $35 fee in a paragraph and post a $1 on a separate paragraph making it appear as though $1 is the actual charge. With that being said, after the fact, customer service was absolutely wonderful to work with. Very understanding, helpful, kind and informative. I felt as though my concern was fully handled at the end of our interaction. Greatly appreciated.

Typical oversight or "fine print" scam. Advertising 1 report for only $1, yet somehow everyone reports being charged for monthly access at $30+. Then you have to contact them to cancel monthly subscription before it is too late. Will never use this service again and warn others about the misleading advertisement.
