I manage both my parents' care and business affairs. Every Friday, I take Dad shopping at the local Walmart for their weekly essentials, and to get him out of the facility for a change of scenery. The Walmart has allowed their fleet of electric shopping carts to dwindle and fall out of repair. Their manager swears otherwise. I wondered if the local or State or Federal laws required better reliability.

LegalShield wrote one letter to a debt collector who was harassing me, and immediately after receiving the letter the debt collector never contacted me again. They also removed it from my credit profile. LegalShield saved me over $2,700!

My oldest son died on April 15, 2015. In order to close his accounts, I needed to create and file the Small Estate Affidavit - Intestate. I didn't find the form itself on my LegalShield membership site, but I was able to find several that could be edited by doing a search on Google. I chose one, edited as I thought it needed to be with the correct personal information, and shipped it up to Kivel & Howard, LLP, my Oregon LegalShield firm, for review. I didn't want to file something that wasn't reviewed and have it rejected. Time is money and the fees aren't small. A couple of days later I was informed of one minor recommended correction and told that otherwise I'd done a pretty good job! I'm as pleased as I've always been with the services I get through our plan.

Initially, I held a membership with Pre-Paid Legal and had direct contact with provider law firm: Evans, Loewenstein, Shimanovsky & Moscardini, located in Chicago, Illinois. During the initial paid membership and Pre-Paid Associate experience, there was direct communication with the provider law firm explaining a harassing work experience during a tumultuous 6 month tenure with an organization formerly named Vanco, located in Oak Brook, IL. I called LegalShield about a new product I wanted to create and sell. I had never done this before so I needed a lot of guidance. The patent attorney I spoke with explained what patents were all about and the associated cost, and also the option of copyrighting and the cost. He shared how to get a copyright for my product and how I could use it. He also reviewed the requirements to pay sales tax, how often I had to pay and suggested getting a DBA for my business. He was very patient and thorough and told me to call him back if I had any further questions. He wished me well with the business and told me to keep him posted on how it was doing. I was very satisfied with his advice and counsel, and it didn't cost me anything additional beyond my monthly membership fee!

I had an incident where I went to a foot doctor and when the bill arrived, there were additional charges for a procedure I never had. Three calls and I could not get satisfaction with the billing assistant. Then I got a letter saying matters were being turned over to a collection agency?! I made one call to my attorney who sent a letter on my behalf stating the procedure performed and why no other procedures were necessary if indeed performed. The doctors office sent me a new bill deleting $617 of charges which my attorney pointed out was against the PA Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law, 73P.S. 201-1 - 201-9.2. Mills and Mills and their lawyers have helped me with advice on numerous occasions. For example, I called in once with a parking issue and another issue. I got a phone call back from 2 different lawyers. That I hadn't expected, but they told me it was because I needed special advice on my other matter. I do not want to disclose my other issue, just to point out that they had my best interests at heart. It meant a lot to me and reassured me of the quality of their law firm. Another time, my brother and I had a question about Wills and Trusts. It was virtually the same question about his status and we are both members, he was given a referral lawyer. He answered all questions. We were very satisfied. I'll never give up my membership. I call the local LegalShield section in Portland, Oregon when I have questions about things that I get in mailings or on e-mail notes that I want to be sure if they are something I should respond to, and that group has helped me every time fairly shortly. It helps me feel secure.

On April 21st, 2015 at approximately 11:30 am I used my LegalShield app on my phone to call Parker Stanbury. To my surprise I was on hold for over 12 minutes! This is the longest I've ever had to be on hold... To make matters worse I was actually sharing the app with a insurance broker illustrating the convenience and was very embarrassed by the rare result. I only share this information because I'm also an associate and hope my customers don't experience the same as I did being on hold for over 12 minutes before being served!

I've called LegalShield several times since my membership started in 2013. Each time I call, the Law Firm handles my concern with care and the issue is resolved to my satisfaction. My LegalShield membership gave me answers following the death of a parent. I called the law firm that services our state because our parent died without a will. The firm's advice answered the question and concerns for me and also my siblings!

I got a ticket for allegedly driving while on a cell phone. I felt I was innocent. I called Bervar and Jones (provider law firm) and they looked over the ticket for free. Gave me 2 options and coached me on what to say in the letter to the court and they represented me for FREE in court. We got the ticket dismissed!!! I cried on the way out of the court because my voice was heard and they stood up for me. I love this membership!!!

I had paid a Dr's. bill only to be informed by my insurance carrier that my out of pocket costs had been met and was covered 100%. I called the billing co. about the over payment and was told they would return my money after they had received the EOB. After a month had past and no return I called again and was told the check would be sent. Another month passed I called back and was told yes there was a credit on my account and the check would be sent. Still another month passed and no refund. Was name executor of uncle's estate in another state, called my primary law firm & they gave me a referral attorney in state where my uncle lived. My firm advised to wait for letter till I received information about referral attorney before contacting them. After I got off phone & received call from referral attorney & explained my situation & what my responsibility would be & ask a couple of other questions about my uncle's estate & said without his will & trust he could not advise without see those documents but told me something to look for & since that conversation my uncle made those changes that will be helpful when he passes. I realize that my uncle was not a Legal Shield member that the attorney could have told me he had to see documents & charge the 25% discount rate but didn't. I joined with LegalShield a month or so ago, after two of their representatives gave a presentation at my workplace. I never expected I would need some legal advice & help so soon after joining (less than 2 weeks), but I felt I needed some legal advice regarding a faulty brake repair job on my vehicle, which almost resulted in an accident. I was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in 2001 while working as a QC Tech at a protective coatings plant. I had major surgery and was off work for 1 year. I wasn't called back to work and was informed that there was no light duty. LegalShield won my case.

Signed a contract with a well-known telecommunications company after bundling to have telephone, Internet, cable, and home security system bundled with their company, only to find out that I was being charged $500 installation fee for the home security. On good Friday of this year my father passed away. I gave LegalShield a call to get some clarification on my father's will. ** was both compassionate and helpful. I was stopped just as I entered Wyoming from Montana for speeding. I had missed a sign that noted the change to a lower speed limit in Wyoming. I ordered 1000's of specialty chocolate for 4 day business promotion and it did not arrive on due date. Contacted the company. I have been a member of this incredible service for a little over a year and can only say I wish I had known about it much earlier in life. This is one of numerous times I have used the service over a decade. The issue was review of a contract regarding an independent contractor opportunity. I received a copy of the contract from the owner and contacted my provider law firm. They asked me to send it to them for review. Within 3 business days I already had a return call from the attorney. We reviewed the paragraphs that he and I questioned. The major issue was one paragraph that indicated that even though I would be an independent contractor I would also be personally responsible for liabilities of the company, if that happened. Needless to say I declined the opportunity.

I just want to comment on my experience with the law firm. I recently had an issue with a claim with my car insurance. They were not only indicating they were not going to pay a claim but they also were investigating the veracity of my claim. I do not know where to begin. I have used LegalShield so many times. I will recall the time I was in a speed trap in Chillicothe, Texas. In this area the speed limits was 75 mph and reduced drastically down to 45 mph in less than a half of mile. I did see the cop but didn't think I was speeding. When the cop stopped me... (in a town that I do not know) I pulled over in the median. The cop got out of the car and began to yell and recommend that I pull over (behind the DQ). I pulled in front of the DQ, and immediately was able to connect with LegalShield. I did warn the cop my attorney was on the phone. The cop whole entire demeanor changed. As part of my membership in LegalShield my husband and I had our wills done. They were not just boiler plate wills, but we needed special wording to suit our family needs. These wills can be updated each year. There is no extra cost as they are included in our membership fee. We could not be more pleased.

I have been a member of LegalShield for about 4 years now and find it as important a service as a roof over our heads. In 2012 I was in an MVA that landed me in hospital for over a week and unable to walk unassisted for almost 3 years. At the time of the accident, before even the ambulance and police arrived I had a lawyer on the phone who kept me calm and explained to me what was to be expected and to not worry about anything and he would contact me the following day but to allow the doctors to care for me and not to worry about anything else.

I have been a member/associate of Pre-Paid Legal/LegalShield since December 7, 2001. If I had more space I could be more specific, but I will simply say, I can't understand why everyone wouldn't want a membership.

I still believe in LegalShield. The provider law firm in my state, especially a couple attorneys that assist me from time to time are awesome. Others across the country often times do not do that well in assisting my members. I have written to member services, associate services, etc. Several times. I get nowhere. No response for this concern: If you find out that the attorney has done a POOR job in assisting WHY does the associate have to pay the price when they cancel? (i.e. Chargebacks. Reduced persistency, etc.) So there you have it. I voiced my thoughts. Will see if ANYTHING comes of it. Thank you.

Prior to owning this membership, I can recall using an attorney maybe twice in my life. I was 40 years old when I signed up for the plan. Since then, I've used the membership over 50 times and have saved my household over $40k. Main difference, I now have affordable access. Two of the biggest were when I saved $18k on a real estate contract after having it reviewed by our Law Firm and $8k on a credit card bill that was not mine. Every family needs this type of access, especially when you're not sure about a situation. Call the Firm for a peace of mind!

We've had LegalShield membership with Identity Theft Shield for 13+ years. During this time there have been numerous times every year where a situation arose when we'd ask ourselves, is that legal? What rights do we have in this? How legal is it that they are trying to do? No worries or expensive consultation fees. Our membership covered the cost for top legal advice. Five separate identity theft incidents have occurred with no worry because that part of membership covered it. Wouldn't be without the plans.

While enjoying a lovely afternoon out with my husband in Palm Beach County (which is about an hour from my home) we were stopped coming over a hill for speeding. I purchased a extended warranty for my 07 Harley Ultra Classic. It was from my credit union, not Harley Davidson. When I used it the first time, the company covered two out of three items. The radio was not covered. I called the company and was told that the radio was not on the list of included items. I pointed out that it wasn't on the excluded list either. Their representative said, "On this item, we will just have to agree to disagree." I asked him if I could call a friend. He laughed and said I was free to call anyone that I wanted to.

I had an issue with my brother, the administrator of my mother's estate. A year went by after her death, and the estate still hadn't been settled and the inheritance divided up. On March 11th, I contacted my cell phone provider asking how much it would cost to cancel my 3-year contract with them, as there was still 1.5 years left of my agreement. They notified me $300. I agreed to pay them $300 to cancel my services. Before changing cell phone providers, they asked what type of long distance plan I was looking for, as I stated "Unlimited US & Canada 24/7 Long Distance". They offered me a service for lower than my current bill, excluding my long distant charges. I remained with this company, as my new plan would not start until my new bill date, being March 23rd.

Our daughter was away at University. When she was leaving her apartment, she got a bill for over $3,200 for damages. When I saw $500 for taps on the bathroom sink, I almost lost it. My property manager sent me an updated contract for a property I own in New Mexico. It had two clauses that were identified by my LegalShield Attorney that were punitive to me. I have used my LegalShield membership on numerous occasions. My wife had a traffic ticket in Maryland that the attorney went to settle on our behalf on two separate occasions (one ticket). Living in Kentucky, this was a great benefit. We had a question about some contracts which were reviewed and then explained to us in plain English. Most recently I got advice while settling my Mom's estate. We will update our wills later this year. These are just a few of the instances where we have used our membership. I called my attorney and faxed a copy of a contract a vendor ask me to sign. My attorney told me to have the vendor modify the clauses in the contract. The vendor did not properly perform and I ask him to cancel the contract. He refused at first. Not long after we had our LegalShield membership I discovered that my electric razor's battery was not taking or holding a charge. By the time I found the receipt for the purchase it was just a little over a year since the purchase. Before I got the membership I never got in an accident but about 6 months later I did on a Friday and I was given 2 tickets after I hit someone from behind and made a dent in their bumper. So I called my Law Firm and they gave me advice on what to do and since it wasn't such a bad one all I had to do was take the tickets from the officer, take a picture of them along with my insurance and registration and send that over to the law firms email and they called me back on that Monday and told me that they will be able to go to court for me and a couple past after the court date and I get a letter in the mail from them with my court records saying I don't have to pay a dime. I received a cell phone bill with a $220 overage charge. The company had not honored the contract I had signed up for. Over the past 10 years I and my family have used our LegalShield membership many times and I have come to rely on the fact that I know I have a legal team on my side. After my husband passed in January, 2013, I found out that the landlord was in default. She assured me that she had this under control, and that I should keep paying rent - all would be well. I love our LegalShield membership! We have been members for almost seventeen years, and I truly can't imagine navigating life's "stuff" without it. A few of our situations:

I have a son who is gifted and special ed. He has been to multiple schools and most educators seem to not know how to help him. Although he is an excellent writer, he was having difficulty writing papers. I had reached out to my law firm for advice what steps I could take to get him help at school. My attorney called me one morning (before normal business hours) and told me to have the school test him for Dysgraphia. Just the mention of the term had the school send my son talk to type software and a doctor to our home to test him. I don't know why after 3 years at the school they didn't think of it but thanks to my LegalShield attorney my son began receiving the services that he needed.

I was flying home from a convention and was supposed to arrive home around 3pm, but my flight was cancelled 3 times due to mechanical issues. When I finally got home it was after midnight and I wasn't pleased with the service I had received. So the next day I called my law firm and asked what my rights were. The attorney said that I could file a claim for the extra expenses I had incurred (~$30), but that the airline would probably decline my claim. He then said, "but let's write them a letter and see what happens." I figured I had nothing to lose so I said okay. About 3 weeks later I received a letter from the airline. Unfortunately I have had the misfortune or more than occasional moving traffic violations during the last 17 yrs. while covered by LegalShield. Our Provider Law Firm has always given me rapid and accurate response in consultation and when needed representation, keeping our BMV - MVR reports clear and clean. In addition it is comforting to know that the tragic accident potential for criminal charges related to traffic deaths are covered without additional fees as part of our complete protection plan - no auto insurance provides that.

LegalShield has truly provided exceptional help for me and my members. Especially for me in the area of document review. Had several documents reviewed on my behalf several times.

I paid for insurance at a storage unit where I had my tools. Later there was a theft and most of my tools were stolen. The bankruptcy referral firm was good. On another issue, the referral lawyer didn't want to take my eviction case, but didn't say so/call me back. A letter by another attorney didn't get me my refund, or any response from the company. Pre-Paid Legal cancelled my original membership - when I had only asked to cancel the magazine subscription. The lawyer was not able to help me keep my bank account statements from my homeless shelter counselor. The lawyer was not able to get my money back from the pre-paid cremation company that went out of business. I only keep the membership on the off chance that maybe someday I'll have a success story.
