I was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in 2001 while working as a QC Tech at a protective coatings plant. I had major surgery and was off work for 1 year. I wasn't called back to work and was informed that there was no light duty. LegalShield won my case.

Signed a contract with a well-known telecommunications company after bundling to have telephone, Internet, cable, and home security system bundled with their company, only to find out that I was being charged $500 installation fee for the home security. Even though I had signed the contract without my law firm reviewing it, when I called my law firm they reviewed my contract and my bills and advised me on how to handle the situation. I was able to get the $500 installation fee taken off my bill.

Went to local Verizon wireless store and got quoted for a new agreement that the salesperson said was brand new and would save me about $60 a month. On good Friday of this year my father passed away. I gave LegalShield a call to get some clarification on my father's will. ** was both compassionate and helpful. She explained the answers to my questions and provided information from the will's act. After 3 calls all my questions were answered and my siblings and I now know the outcome of the estate.

I was stopped just as I entered Wyoming from Montana for speeding. I had missed a sign that noted the change to a lower speed limit in Wyoming. I called our Montana Law firm, they referred me to the Wyoming provider law firm. They had me scan my ticket to them. The membership allowed us to get our will, living will and health care directives done -- cost $0. Two times repair shops botched the job, once on yard tractor and once with a computer. We got all our money returned both times. The big one was a dispute with IRS over an estate issue...It was completely resolved through LegalShield, saving us over $31,000. We will not be without our membership.

I ordered 1000's of specialty chocolate for 4 day business promotion and it did not arrive on due date. Contacted the company. They had canceled the order due to an error on their end but did not notify me. They rushed the order to arrive the next day. They charged me a $125 rush fee. I argued, to no avail. I contacted Parker Stanbury. They wrote a letter and I received a refund of $125.

I have been a member of this incredible service for a little over a year and can only say I wish I had known about it much earlier in life. Like most people I did not have my will done simply due to the high cost. To realize I get my will done complete with Powers of Attorney for health care and property totally free for both myself and my wife is mind-boggling...Just for trying this service out, that is worth a year's membership alone! We did get ours done upon signing up for our membership and have also used the service at least 6 times in this year. This is one of numerous times I have used the service over a decade. The issue was review of a contract regarding an independent contractor opportunity. I received a copy of the contract from the owner and contacted my provider law firm. They asked me to send it to them for review. Within 3 business days I already had a return call from the attorney. We reviewed the paragraphs that he and I questioned. The major issue was one paragraph that indicated that even though I would be an independent contractor I would also be personally responsible for liabilities of the company, if that happened. Needless to say I declined the opportunity.

I just want to comment on my experience with the law firm. I recently had an issue with a claim with my car insurance. They were not only indicating they were not going to pay a claim but they also were investigating the veracity of my claim. I do not know where to begin. I have used LegalShield so many times. I will recall the time I was in a speed trap in Chillicothe, Texas. In this area the speed limits was 75 mph and reduced drastically down to 45 mph in less than a half of mile. I did see the cop but didn't think I was speeding. When the cop stopped me... (in a town that I do not know) I pulled over in the median. The cop got out of the car and began to yell and recommend that I pull over (behind the DQ). As part of my membership in LegalShield my husband and I had our wills done. They were not just boiler plate wills, but we needed special wording to suit our family needs. These wills can be updated each year. There is no extra cost as they are included in our membership fee. We could not be more pleased.

I have been a member of LegalShield for about 4 years now and find it as important a service as a roof over our heads. In 2012 I was in an MVA that landed me in hospital for over a week and unable to walk unassisted for almost 3 years. At the time of the accident, before even the ambulance and police arrived I had a lawyer on the phone who kept me calm and explained to me what was to be expected and to not worry about anything and he would contact me the following day but to allow the doctors to care for me and not to worry about anything else.

I like the fact that they cover all the United States and Canada. I also like the app that I can use on my smart phone, especially if I need to call an Attorney in an emergency. I just tap the app and then I got connected with an attorney within 3 minutes at 1:30 am while was in the hospital I got valuable legal advice. We talked for about 30 minutes and the best part was that I didn't get a bill. It was covered by my LegalShield membership.

I used to be so intimidated by attorneys that I rarely contacted them even when I needed help and had the money. However, that has changed now that I have a law firm that is contracted through Legalshield. They are always very polite and helpful. I have been a member/associate of Pre-Paid Legal/LegalShield since December 7, 2001. If I had more space I could be more specific, but I will simply say, I can't understand why everyone wouldn't want a membership.

I still believe in LegalShield. The provider law firm in my state, especially a couple attorneys that assist me from time to time are awesome. Others across the country often times do not do that well in assisting my members. I have written to member services, associate services, etc. Several times. I get nowhere. No response for this concern: If you find out that the attorney has done a POOR job in assisting WHY does the associate have to pay the price when they cancel? (i.e. Chargebacks. Reduced persistency, etc.) So there you have it. I voiced my thoughts. Will see if ANYTHING comes of it. Thank you.

Prior to owning this membership, I can recall using an attorney maybe twice in my life. I was 40 years old when I signed up for the plan. Since then, I've used the membership over 50 times and have saved my household over $40k. Main difference, I now have affordable access. We've had LegalShield membership with Identity Theft Shield for 13+ years. During this time there have been numerous times every year where a situation arose when we'd ask ourselves, is that legal? What rights do we have in this? How legal is it that they are trying to do? No worries or expensive consultation fees. Our membership covered the cost for top legal advice. I purchased a extended warranty for my 07 Harley Ultra Classic. It was from my credit union, not Harley Davidson. When I used it the first time, the company covered two out of three items. The radio was not covered. I called the company and was told that the radio was not on the list of included items. I pointed out that it wasn't on the excluded list either. I had an issue with my brother, the administrator of my mother's estate. A year went by after her death, and the estate still hadn't been settled and the inheritance divided up. I signed up for an online business opportunity and paid $1200. The amount included marketing. Three months later, marketing stopped. On March 11th, I contacted my cell phone provider asking how much it would cost to cancel my 3-year contract with them, as there was still 1.5 years left of my agreement. They notified me $300. I agreed to pay them $300 to cancel my services. Before changing cell phone providers, they asked what type of long distance plan I was looking for, as I stated "Unlimited US & Canada 24/7 Long Distance". They offered me a service for lower than my current bill, excluding my long distant charges. I remained with this company, as my new plan would not start until my new bill date, being March 23rd.

Our daughter was away at University. When she was leaving her apartment, she got a bill for over $3,200 for damages. When I saw $500 for taps on the bathroom sink, I almost lost it. My property manager sent me an updated contract for a property I own in New Mexico. It had two clauses that were identified by my LegalShield Attorney that were punitive to me. My attorney advised me to line through the clauses and initial on the side to negate the clauses before I signed the contract. I did and saved myself several thousand dollars. I'm a smart person but I don't know everything, that is why I have my membership with LegalShield. My knee-jerk reaction to questions is to call my lawyer.

I have used my LegalShield membership on numerous occasions. My wife had a traffic ticket in Maryland that the attorney went to settle on our behalf on two separate occasions (one ticket). Living in Kentucky, this was a great benefit. We had a question about some contracts which were reviewed and then explained to us in plain English. I called my attorney and faxed a copy of a contract a vendor ask me to sign. My attorney told me to have the vendor modify the clauses in the contract. The vendor did not properly perform and I ask him to cancel the contract. He refused at first. I ask my attorney to send the vendor a letter asking them to cancel the contract because they did not perform according to the clauses. The vendor sent me a letter saying that they were going to cancel the contract. All $25,000.00.

Not long after we had our LegalShield membership I discovered that my electric razor's battery was not taking or holding a charge. Before I got the membership I never got in an accident but about 6 months later I did on a Friday and I was given 2 tickets after I hit someone from behind and made a dent in their bumper. I love our LegalShield membership! We have been members for almost seventeen years, and I truly can't imagine navigating life's "stuff" without it. A few of our situations:

I have a son who is gifted and special ed. He has been to multiple schools and most educators seem to not know how to help him. Although he is an excellent writer, he was having difficulty writing papers. I had reached out to my law firm for advice what steps I could take to get him help at school. My attorney called me one morning (before normal business hours) and told me to have the school test him for Dysgraphia. Just the mention of the term had the school send my son talk to type software and a doctor to our home to test him. I don't know why after 3 years at the school they didn't think of it but thanks to my LegalShield attorney my son began receiving the services that he needed.

I was flying home from a convention and was supposed to arrive home around 3pm, but my flight was cancelled 3 times due to mechanical issues. The bankruptcy referral firm was good. On another issue, the referral lawyer didn't want to take my eviction case, but didn't say so/call me back. A letter by another attorney didn't get me my refund, or any response from the company. Pre-Paid Legal cancelled my original membership - when I had only asked to cancel the magazine subscription. The lawyer was not able to help me keep my bank account statements from my homeless shelter counselor. The lawyer was not able to get my money back from the pre-paid cremation company that went out of business. I only keep the membership on the off chance that maybe someday I'll have a success story.

A wind storm recently knocked one tree limb to the ground and another against the corner of my neighbor's front porch. My insurance company advised me I was not responsible for an act of God. This tax season I received a letter from the IRS informing me that they had "amended" my 2014 tax return. I called my provider law firm. Attorney ** returned my call within the hour. We discussed the matter. I sent him a copy of my tax return. He returned my call the following day and informed that he had found the error on my tax return. He told me that the IRS was correct and I did owe additional money. It is comforting to know that I have a qualified tax attorney on my side to keep me out of trouble. I've used Legal Shield several times for my rights. But when I was treated unfairly with my auto insurance co. it paid off. I paid 1 year of car insurance that I was told by my insurance co. I had to pay if I had a CA driver's license but I didn't own a car. My company said that I had to have insurance even if I didn't own a car.
