I signed up for LegalShield and was told that any citation I previously had would be handled. Well after calling and speaking with LegalShield they have a 15 day period where they won't assist you without a fee. This was NOT told to me beforehand. I feel scammed by LegalShield, they took the money out of my account the same day. This was a complete waste of time and I was scammed!

We use our LegalShield membership all the time: cell phone bill issues, lease contracts, collections, credit card interest rate issues, home appliance warranty problems. It's great for all those little frustrating things. One time we had a letter the attorney wrote that didn't include the facts we'd provided. We called back the law firm and they had another written -- it was strong! We easily get back our $20 a month invested with one phone call. It's not perfect (nothing is) but it's as close as we've found. 7 years a member and we can't recommend LegalShield enough!

I consider myself an upstanding, law-abiding person. That being said, I utilize my LegalShield membership numerous times a year, every year, and it has always over delivered. Everyone should have one.

In the fall of 2014 I moved into a house and I found out later that a lot of stuff was wrong. A friend of mine was telling me stuff that I could try to get the home sellers to cooperate on some things. Now I did buy the home as is and didn't get an inspection, but I assumed (first time buyer's mistake) that the disclosure agreement was also a legal document. If someone says there is absolutely nothing wrong with the house then it should be just that. A lof of stuff was jimmy-rigged and I wanted to know what my options were. It's a long aggravating - I don't remember who I spoke to, but he was rude and didn't even try to help. When someone is upset it would be great if the lawyer would drop the tone and stop talking to the client like you're a moron. I would have complained sooner, but I didn't know this board was here, so I'm doing it now.

Some outfit they are!!! They scammed a 90 year old woman by charging her bank account for over 3 years before I caught it. She is legally blind and couldn't examine her bank statements. After providing all documentation including Dr's reports stating her age and blindness they continue to refuse Reimbursement to a Holocaust survivor living on a pension. They should be ashamed of themselves and if they behave that way BEWARE of their services. They would rather battle her by contesting this fraud by just continuously responding with letters of obfuscation to attorney general offices in 2 states. I guess they're just waiting until she dies. Shame on them!!!

I was a paying member of Pre-Paid Legal/LegalShield since 2010. It is now April 18 of 2016 and if you think this corporation is out to help the paying member, I have news for you. They could care less. Their claims of having experienced attorneys answering your calls and writing your letters is a complete lie. I've had an important pending legal matter for over a year. I was without a doubt a victim of a HUD housing scam. Plain and simple. LegalShield did not have one attorney that could answer a simple question. Further, they advertise how many attorneys they have at their law firms but do you think that's in the members' best interest? Nope, absolutely not. However, what happens when you call up with a legal matter that requires representation? I will tell you what they do.

I not only am a member of LegalShield but also an associate. I'm ashamed to tell people that because when I first started I believed in LegalShield. However, after 2 real estate issues, I no longer am a fan. They refuse to call me back. They put tax attorneys on a real estate issue. Due to their 'lack' of attention, I'm about to lose my home. Nothing they claim is true and they could honestly give a rat's ass about their customers while racking up $$$ every month for membership dues.

I signed up with Legal Shield to help with my auto insurance claim. All I got was the runarounds. I spoke with 4 or so different attorneys. Every time I asked to speak to the original attorney I had spoke with someone else would call. Then they referred me to an attorney who never called and when I called back I asked if I could have a letter written and the attorney said he didn't feel it would do any good. WHAT! Isn't that what you pay for? This has been such a waste of time. What's the purpose of having a membership if you can't use the perks when it's really needed.

On 3/29/16 I had received a call from Amy ** of SC Merritt Webb Law Firm who represents SC Legal Shield Members. My Intake # was **. I had attempted to gain an understanding of Workman's Compensation, so that I could educate my son whom I have listed as a joint member under my legal shield plan. I was advised of the Attorney/Client privilege which was the reason I had been assigned by the intake coordinator 2 separate intake #'s. I was not seeking direct answers for him but simply the LAW basics of WC, and she failed at assisting me because she was so adamant about my inquiry being for my son.

I had the worse attorney referral from you for my divorce. She had surgery. She was always sick stating some part on her body from stomach to wrist to headache, never answered her phone or text. She would call me the day before stating the deadline for this or that was the next day not giving me any time to get things together. When she did text or email me back it was at crazy hours like 2-5am. As if she was going to get a response at that time. I didn't get anything in the divorce as she stated because she failed to file needed paperwork in time. This was by far the worse experience I ever had with an attorney or heard of with an attorney for a simple divorce case. I would never recommend LegalShield to anyone. I spent over $4500 for nothing. Thanks a lot LegalShield for your referral.

I've called today to request for a lawyer to write in my behalf and I ended up being bounced back again requesting to call the Membership. I was turned down because that was not his specialty and that I don't have a case. I am frustrated and finally told the lawyer that I have not gotten any good service from them and he said that.. "really, you have 6 open cases on file?" This is what the lawyer told me. Exactly! They keep on routing me to WRONG LAWYERS and asking me to call MEMBERSHIP # AGAIN and AGAIN. And we all know the pattern. Good example, I asked for Patent Lawyer referral and the lawyer they referred me turned out is only doing TRADEMARKS so I ended up outsourcing another lawyer outside the Legal Shield since this is totally a waste of my time. Maybe before you analyze how many "cases" I called, you should see the trend why I did that. Completely waste of my time.

I had an issue with my LegalShield membership, and instead of addressing it, they cancelled my membership all together and wouldn't let me renew it... I'm very dissatisfied with the way I was handled by LegalShield and it is a shame because Ross & Matthews which is the provider firm offers great services. Also I had a few cases in the past where they referred me to 3 lawyers outside of Ross & Matthews, these lawyers were HORRIBLE!!! I called ALL of them multiple times, left multiple voicemails and they never got back to me. After I filed a complaint against them, 2 of the lawyers called me back and they both never took the time to listen to me and evaluate my issues, they acted as if I was disturbing them and rushed me off the phone! They were very unpleasant!!!

In Dec 2015 my gas was turned off at my house. Calling my local gas company and talking to a service representative, I was informed my reoccurring monthly payment had not been paid. The gas company had in fact disconnected my natural gas service. After some back and forth with customer service representative I was told that my gas service had been disconnected by mistake at no fault of my own. When I requested to return my service asap, I was informed that it will cost me $49.95 to restore service same day. Yes, the same day service that turned off my gas! I was not happy. Requesting a supervisor to discuss this Policy proved to be a waste of time. Not happy. I assessed my options looking to my phone for some sort of guidance. I saw the LegalShield App.

I have been a paying member for over a year. I have been paying 49.95 each and every month for this period. However, each time I call in, I have to wait "up to" 8 hours for a call back. This doesn't sound too unreasonable except when the reality of life kicks in. Like most people, I work. This means there are times when I cannot answer incoming calls, so when the lawyer finally calls and I don't answer they leave a message and I call back. Reasonable yes? No! Now I have to wait another 8 hours and this can continue all week. But when you need legal advice now, that means NOW, not in a week or whenever you finally connect.

My understanding of what I signed up for is not the service that I am getting. Most of the lawyers make it seem like I am a waste of time. When I expressed concerns about how the referral lawyer has handled my case, I am treated as if I am in the wrong and not given the opportunity to be heard.

I have used this service 26 times in the last four years and have had nothing but great service. As an associate I first visited the provider law firm just to find out about them. Obviously Consumer Affairs doesn't vet any comments made. A few of my clients have cancelled the service for various reasons, primarily because they never bothered using it. Not one ever had a problem with cancellation.

I depend on the advice of LegalShield more than those I know personally. I've had 2 sticky situations where I would have not known what to do nor my rights had it not been for my membership.

Absolutely ridiculous. I try to make my will because it is apparently included and since I don't live close to my "law firm" which is 6 hours away (one way) then they have to refer me to a law firm that is closer to sign and witness my documents/will. Great! But we have to pay 56.00 dollars per person + HST. Imagine that. So 40 monthly for a membership+56.00x2 = Over 152+HST. Might as well just get my will done by an actual lawyer and it will cost me less. Or you know, I can just drive 12 hours to go sign my paperwork! Problem solved. Not a happy customer. This is false advertising. Free will included = not unless you live close to your "law firm".

We subscribed to LegalShield about 2 years ago. During this period we have called upon the attorneys in Virginia on several occasions and they have handled our matters quite competently and effectively. Response times and follow up were excellent. Work performed was highly professional. The LegalShield app with the 24 hour emergency legal access contact button also is helpful and all 5 of our children have the app on their phones. About a year ago, we also began promoting the service as we believe that every American should have the protection and peace of mind afforded by LegalShield.

I had the membership for less than 6 months. I was pulled over for using my cell phone. I advised him that I used it to call for an emergency situation with my family. As the officer proceeded to advise me why he pulled me over and took my driver's license and registration, I remembered that I had the 24/7 access to an attorney. I called and I was connected with an attorney within 2-3 rings. I handed the phone to the officer who had a 5 minute conversation with my attorney. The officer then said "please proceed and have a nice day." The attorney later called me & he explained what he said to the officer. I was amazed with the service! That would have been an expensive ticket and expended a lot of my time to possibly appear in court.

I have been a member of Legalshield for over 4 years. I have used them for multiple things and always had a positive outcome. One of the most recent things was my son fell in Wal-Mart and busted his lip open. Wal-Mart wanted me to sign paperwork based on the incident and I was concerned I would be waiving my rights as a parent in the event there was something internal wrong with him. It was after hours for the law firm, however, I was able to call the 24/7 line and read the document to them. I literally had an attorney on the phone within 5 minutes of the phone call.

I am not trying to put out bad information about LegalShield, however my experience with them has been a runaround. I have been referred to 9 different attorneys who all say they will take the cases but when the connection of information has been passed on they refuse to speak, only the secretary. It is very sad because nobody knows whether the information is being passed back to the accused agencies and LegalShield only takes your money and does not do what they say they are going to do. For me it isn't worth it and I am going to get a total refund for failure to meet contracted services. However not everyone is treated the same. Some get better services while some don't. Good luck to those who can make it work for them. I am not having a very good experience and very disappointed that people take advantage of single families.

I did not get help with my situation. I made a complaint before i cancel. I request my money back. I talk to a supervisor and a manager - no justice. I felt that my money should be return.

Legal Shield advised that there was an email issue they had fixed the problem in a fast and professional manner afterwards.

I know this may seem to be a strange story but it's an important one for every parent. I've been enjoying the accessibility that my LegalShield membership provides for years. But one of the best ones for me is this one. My daughter, who deals with a diagnosed social anxiety, had expressed her interest in having us purchase a snake. As a parent, I want everything for my children BUT a snake? I'll admit that was on the border of acceptability. But I told her, if you do the research on how to purchase, feed and house it, I'll look into it for her. She did her duty to the letter and I did mine. Turns out the type of snake in the area in which we live actually was illegal to own (local by-laws). So I informed her about my 'search' and thought that was the end of it.

LS was fast in resolving my problem. They fixed it correct the first time. And all was covered in my LS plan.

Things happen in our lives every day where we need advice and help! LegalShield Law Firm in AZ has helped me many times with traffic situations where the issues were thrown out of court! The story doesn't matter. There are many different stories to each situation. BOTTOMLINE! The law firm went to work on my issues and I never got a bill! They have written letters on my behalf and the letter made a difference! They have written letters and they didn't make a difference! This coverage has saved me thousands of dollars where IF I didn't have it... it would have costs me that extra money! My family and I will never be without LegalShield EVER!

I recently joined LegalShield for the first time as I had a tenant/landlord matter. The lawyer wrote a letter on my behalf and emailed it to me. In the letter I found a major mistake regarding amount of money that was being claimed. I asked for a callback and on first time I was called back immediately. I was told the mistake would be fixed and the letter then posted THAT DAY. Shortly after hanging up, I then discovered a 2nd major mistake, this time regarding a wrong name of the person it was addressed to. I called again and asked for an urgent callback as the lawyer had told me it was going to be posted THAT DAY. I received NO CALLBACK.

After signing up with LegalShield to receive legal services on September 29, I decided to call to evaluate the claims made by LegalShield by getting a referral to an attorney. I called and described a general story of a case and asked the attorney about his representation fee in the court. He gave me a fee about $5000 and up for his few hours of being in the court. The saving by being a member of the LegalShield service member, according to the attorney was between $50-$100. I cancelled the account and asked my refund 20 days later. They said it takes 60 days to review the refund. They never responded my emails and finally they were forced to send me an email by many emails I sent to them to get my refund of $27 dollars of what they stated as risk-free trial period.

I have had a LegalShield membership for over nine years. I haven't used it a lot, but it has been a great service to have when it was needed. The attorneys I have spoken with have always been very friendly and knowledgeable and have clearly explained what to do in each situation. They have written letters for me when I had problems with my car insurance claim and helped me with some contract problems. It is great to have peace of mind to know that if I ever have a major legal issue, I will have a law firm to call for help.

I signed up with Legal Shield in May. Since then, I have called them 15 times for issues I wanted advice and counsel on. The attorneys called me back every time and answered all my questions. This is the first time I felt I had access to answers for issues I need help on. For 20.00 a month, this is a real deal.

1st, I had an issue with an employer taking accounts. The Parker Stanbury lawyer told me I couldn't sue because the home office was out of state. I had it happen again and when I called a year later she was the same lawyer. She said, "Here we go again" and told me I couldn't sue and she TOLD ME BEFORE. So, I asked for a new lawyer. Same story. Well, of course you know where this is going. One of my co-workers had gotten the same treatment and sued and the company and not only is it possible to sue, they settled TODAY with that person. I was then listed in the lawsuit erroneously as a defendant because I had been in the management hierarchy at one time.

I have been a member of Prepaid Legal Shield, also known as Primerica Legal Protection Program for 7 years and thought I had some peace of mind in case my Sweetwater Ranch HOA (in Colorado) overstepped their authority and became too abusive. As it turned out, I was correct. But when I attempted to utilize the benefits which I paid thousands of dollars to obtain at this point, they turned me over to the law firm of Riggs Abney Neal Turpen Orbison & Lewis. The attorney who represented me was not only terrible but also provided incorrect legal advice. The case was over an 8' X 10' chicken coop on our 35-acre lot.

Resolved privately.

My first attempt to pay for the service was rejected on the website so I came back the next morning to try again. Both times, first my credit card then my bank card were charged $29.95 each! I was charged a total of $60.00 for a bogus membership number that I cannot even access the website with. Zero customer service and after waiting on hold for close to an hour and a half total I finally got through to a human and all she did was give me a "membership number" that was rejected every time I attempted to log on.

I cannot explain how bad this was. The rules they have are very bad in my opinion. I cannot use a law firm in my city, I have to use one hundreds of miles away. They do very little other than a will. No email, it has to be fax or snail mail. They say it is for security. Not true, I made my way up to a partner and the story was totally different. I tried to fax, they do not have a toll-free fax. So guess what, long distance applies. No calls back, the salesperson that sold it to me is never available and does not follow through. By the way, only one law firm will work with Pre-Paid Legal - only "one" in Texas! Houston is the 4th largest city in the USA and no firms will work with them. Do not use them, a waste of money. By the way - if they do not like your review they mark it; "factual basis unfounded". OKAY, you get 3 stars - hope they read the comment section.

My wife & I have been members with LegalShield since Jan. 2000. We use the service about 9 times a year & the law firms have saved us tens of thousands of dollars. This has lowered the stress level in our lives & helps us make better decisions.

I love my cell phone company, and it's a national company. I've been with them for 20 years. So I have no intentions on leaving them. But even great companies have customer service issues from time to time. Recently I had a problem with billing from this company. "Customer Care" didn't seem to care. Because I've used LegalShield so many times, I realized I didn't have to go through the frustration or stress, to handle this. So I called my Provider Law Firm in Tempe, AZ, Davis Miles McGuire and Gardner.

I was recently rear ended by another driver. She provided her insurance information. A little shook up, I called my provider law firm and was advised as to the law regarding traffic accidents and how her insurance company had 30 days to settle my claim. This alone helped to calm me down. Thirty days went by and I had not received a check for the damages, so I called her insurance company again. They advised me that their insured party had not yet contacted them to explain their side of the story, and that I should just call my insurance company.

Workers Compensation at a previous job was trying to be avoided by my employer when I was seriously injured at work, and in just one phone call to them & their WC insurance company, after speaking to LEGALSHIELD attorneys, I was was correctly compensated over $50K to deal with my injury.

I've been a member of LegalShield since 2011. My experience with LegalShield during these years has been fair at best. I live in the State of Virginia. I've had several legal issues to arise during that time. The provider firm responds promptly when asked questions over the phone. I've found that their advice is not always accurate. Unfortunately you won't know this until time has passed and you've made a decision based on that advice. I've also found that the majority of the firms they refer you to are sole proprietors. On their site they claim that "LegalShield has arranged for you to have a special law firm available to handle your legal needs. This firm has been screened, is monitored daily, and is ready to handle your legal matters with the interest and concern you deserve." This has not been my experience.

I joined a company calling themselves a "Licensee" so they would not have to follow normal SEC regulations as franchises do. They were in another state. After spending thousands of dollars to join the group I soon learned it wasn't something I wanted to be involved with so I tried to act upon the Money Back Guarantee they offered. But when I did, they said "no" and pretty much said, "what are going to do, sue us?"

When I became a member of LegalShield, I was told that the law firm would return my calls within 8 business hours. That may be the rule, but for the many calls I've made, I've never had an experience when my call was not returned within an hour. I've always been satisfied with the professionalism of the attorneys and the quality of their responses. I've saved over $15,000 based on advice from or action by the LegalShield attorneys. After 8 years of membership, I wouldn't be without it!

My wife and I were going through a legal issue and was assigned a lawyer to assist. We never heard from the lawyer proactively so we would have to call for updates and the lawyer would then state they called us (LIE) because they never did. The response we always received was, "We are still researching this issue." We never got anywhere with the lawyer and we didn't feel they were taking our issue seriously. I cancelled the service and advised our HR about utilizing them in the future. LegalShield would always tell me when I called for updates on my wife and I's issue, that they couldn't discuss with me (the husband) only my wife. I do have spousal privilege. I sent a survey with my feedback and when LegalShield called, wouldn't speak to me, only my wife considering I filled out the survey and paid monthly for the service. Company is a joke!!!

I was living in Florida at the time. But I was driving late one night in Louisiana with some friends of mine and got stopped for speeding. The attorneys in Louisiana actually appeared for me in court. I got $20 off the regular fine, AND NO POINTS OFF MY DRIVER'S LICENSE!!! I was ecstatic!!!

Was being harassed by a collection agency concerning a debt that I did not believe I owed. The Lisle Rutledge law firm wrote a letter and demanded proof of the debt - also ask if the collection agency was license to collect debts in the state of AR.

If I have a question that has been bothering me about a tax issue I call the law firm. They are knowledgeable and patient.

LegalShield was quick to get back to me with a response. They requested information on the case, I sent it, they reviewed it and provided legal advice to help with the situation. I was pleased that this process only took a few days and not weeks. I appreciate all the assistance. Thanks.

I manage both my parents' care and business affairs. Every Friday, I take Dad shopping at the local Walmart for their weekly essentials, and to get him out of the facility for a change of scenery. The Walmart has allowed their fleet of electric shopping carts to dwindle and fall out of repair. Their manager swears otherwise. I wondered if the local or State or Federal laws required better reliability.

LegalShield wrote one letter to a debt collector who was harassing me, and immediately after receiving the letter the debt collector never contacted me again. They also removed it from my credit profile. LegalShield saved me over $2,700!

My oldest son died on April 15, 2015. In order to close his accounts, I needed to create and file the Small Estate Affidavit - Intestate. I didn't find the form itself on my LegalShield membership site, but I was able to find several that could be edited by doing a search on Google. I chose one, edited as I thought it needed to be with the correct personal information, and shipped it up to Kivel & Howard, LLP, my Oregon LegalShield firm, for review. I didn't want to file something that wasn't reviewed and have it rejected. Time is money and the fees aren't small. A couple of days later I was informed of one minor recommended correction and told that otherwise I'd done a pretty good job! I'm as pleased as I've always been with the services I get through our plan.

Initially, I held a membership with Pre-Paid Legal and had direct contact with provider law firm: Evans, Loewenstein, Shimanovsky & Moscardini, located in Chicago, Illinois. During the initial paid membership and Pre-Paid Associate experience, there was direct communication with the provider law firm explaining a harassing work experience during a tumultuous 6 month tenure with an organization formerly named Vanco, located in Oak Brook, IL. (Now reliance globalcom).

My identity was stolen from a healthcare facility. The person who stole it ran up a bill of 4K on a fake credit card billed to me, plus more. I spoke with a lawyer within 3 hrs and she was excellent and I won! I would never be without my 24/7 app!

I joined up with LegalShield after I came into some legal troubles. I went to several attorneys for help prior to signing up with LegalShield and no one wanted to help me. When I went to the attorney that LegalShield referred me to, he was very nice and wanted to help when no one else did. I liked the service and courtesy I received so much that I became an associate to the company so that I can get others the same reliable protection that I have. I called LegalShield about a new product I wanted to create and sell. I had never done this before so I needed a lot of guidance. The patent attorney I spoke with explained what patents were all about and the associated cost, and also the option of copyrighting and the cost. He shared how to get a copyright for my product and how I could use it. He also reviewed the requirements to pay sales tax, how often I had to pay and suggested getting a DBA for my business. He was very patient and thorough and told me to call him back if I had any further questions. He wished me well with the business and told me to keep him posted on how it was doing. I was very satisfied with his advice and counsel, and it didn't cost me anything additional beyond my monthly membership fee!

Anytime I have a situation arise that I need trusted legal advice on, I call my LegalShield law firm. They are quick to respond and always very professional. Having access to an experienced law firm without worrying about how much a consultation will cost encourages me to make them a trusted partner on a regular basis so I can make informed decisions about life and business issues.

In just three short weeks of having my membership, LegalShield saved me well over $1000 in attorney's fees. I spoke with the attorney daily for a week and a half and numerous other times in that three week period. He also wrote a letter for me to a contractor that I had been having a lot of problems with for quite some time. Combined time of more than 2 hours on the phone and the letter written on my behalf were all covered in my LegalShield membership and didn't cost me a penny more! Now I need to get my will updated, at no additional cost to me. I am recommending this service to everyone I know! Thank you, LegalShield!

I had an incident where I went to a foot doctor and when the bill arrived, there were additional charges for a procedure I never had. Three calls and I could not get satisfaction with the billing assistant. Then I got a letter saying matters were being turned over to a collection agency?! I made one call to my attorney who sent a letter on my behalf stating the procedure performed and why no other procedures were necessary if indeed performed. The doctors office sent me a new bill deleting $617 of charges which my attorney pointed out was against the PA Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law, 73P.S. 201-1 - 201-9.2. I never heard from them again. Because I had this service I paid what I expected to pay, $193 and saved myself further aggravation and a lot of money. Thank you LegalShield!

Mills and Mills and their lawyers have helped me with advice on numerous occasions. For example, I called in once with a parking issue and another issue. I got a phone call back from 2 different lawyers. That I hadn't expected, but they told me it was because I needed special advice on my other matter. I do not want to disclose my other issue, just to point out that they had my best interests at heart. It meant a lot to me and reassured me of the quality of their law firm. Another time, my brother and I had a question about Wills and Trusts. It was virtually the same question about his status and we are both members, he was given a referral lawyer. He answered all questions. We were very satisfied. I'll never give up my membership. I've been a member for over a decade so you can imagine there are many more stories I could share - from family matters, accidents, to documents and more.

My experience with the service, and as an associate has been very challenging, yet educational. The company has taught me many things about failing forward; that is, how I can make many mistakes in business, yet still be successful.

LegalShield has been a great help to me on small things getting with late fees getting it taken off by writing for a letter for me which my landlord tried to make me pay in their mistake. Because of Legalshield that was drop.

I call the local LegalShield section in Portland, Oregon when I have questions about things that I get in mailings or on e-mail notes that I want to be sure if they are something I should respond to, and that group has helped me every time fairly shortly. It helps me feel secure.

On April 21st, 2015 at approximately 11:30 am I used my LegalShield app on my phone to call Parker Stanbury. To my surprise I was on hold for over 12 minutes! This is the longest I've ever had to be on hold... To make matters worse I was actually sharing the app with a insurance broker illustrating the convenience and was very embarrassed by the rare result. I only share this information because I'm also an associate and hope my customers don't experience the same as I did being on hold for over 12 minutes before being served!

I've called LegalShield several times since my membership started in 2013. Each time I call, the Law Firm handles my concern with care and the issue is resolved to my satisfaction. My Will and Healthcare Power of Attorney documents are prepared. I made an excellent decision when I enrolled in this service!

My LegalShield membership gave me answers following the death of a parent. I called the law firm that services our state because our parent died without a will. The firm's advice answered the question and concerns for me and also my siblings!

I got a ticket for allegedly driving while on a cell phone. I felt I was innocent. I called Bervar and Jones (provider law firm) and they looked over the ticket for free. I had paid a Dr's. bill only to be informed by my insurance carrier that my out of pocket costs had been met and was covered 100%. Was name executor of uncle's estate in another state, called my primary law firm & they gave me a referral attorney in state where my uncle lived. My firm advised to wait for letter till I received information about referral attorney before contacting them. I joined with LegalShield a month or so ago, after two of their representatives gave a presentation at my workplace. I never expected I would need some legal advice & help so soon after joining (less than 2 weeks), but I felt I needed some legal advice regarding a faulty brake repair job on my vehicle, which almost resulted in an accident. This is one of numerous times I have used the service over a decade. The issue was review of a contract regarding an independent contractor opportunity. I received a copy of the contract from the owner and contacted my provider law firm. They asked me to send it to them for review. Within 3 business days I already had a return call from the attorney. We reviewed the paragraphs that he and I questioned. The major issue was one paragraph that indicated that even though I would be an independent contractor I would also be personally responsible for liabilities of the company, if that happened. Needless to say I declined the opportunity.

I just want to comment on my experience with the law firm. I recently had an issue with a claim with my car insurance. I do not know where to begin. I have used LegalShield so many times. I will recall the time I was in a speed trap in Chillicothe, Texas. In this area the speed limits was 75 mph and reduced drastically down to 45 mph in less than a half of mile. I did see the cop but didn't think I was speeding. When the cop stopped me... (in a town that I do not know) I pulled over in the median. The cop got out of the car and began to yell and recommend that I pull over (behind the DQ). I have been a member of LegalShield for about 4 years now and find it as important a service as a roof over our heads. In 2012 I was in an MVA that landed me in hospital for over a week and unable to walk unassisted for almost 3 years. I still believe in LegalShield. The provider law firm in my state, especially a couple attorneys that assist me from time to time are awesome. Others across the country often times do not do that well in assisting my members. I have written to member services, associate services, etc. Several times. I get nowhere. No response for this concern: If you find out that the attorney has done a POOR job in assisting WHY does the associate have to pay the price when they cancel? (i.e. Chargebacks. Reduced persistency, etc.) So there you have it. I voiced my thoughts. Will see if ANYTHING comes of it. Thank you.

Prior to owning this membership, I can recall using an attorney maybe twice in my life. I was 40 years old when I signed up for the plan. We've had LegalShield membership with Identity Theft Shield for 13+ years. During this time there have been numerous times every year where a situation arose when we'd ask ourselves, is that legal? What rights do we have in this? How legal is it that they are trying to do? No worries or expensive consultation fees. Our membership covered the cost for top legal advice. I purchased a extended warranty for my 07 Harley Ultra Classic. It was from my credit union, not Harley Davidson. When I used it the first time, the company covered two out of three items. I had an issue with my brother, the administrator of my mother's estate. A year went by after her death, and the estate still hadn't been settled and the inheritance divided up. When I inquired why, he said he had been using some of the funds to help our sister and her husband support a mobile home that they had purchased and rented to my folks before their deaths. This is my LegalShield membership story about how LegalShield help me with overdraft fees. I signed up for an online business opportunity and paid $1200. The amount included marketing. Three months later, marketing stopped. On March 11th, I contacted my cell phone provider asking how much it would cost to cancel my 3-year contract with them, as there was still 1.5 years left of my agreement. They notified me $300. I agreed to pay them $300 to cancel my services. Before changing cell phone providers, they asked what type of long distance plan I was looking for, as I stated "Unlimited US & Canada 24/7 Long Distance". They offered me a service for lower than my current bill, excluding my long distant charges. I remained with this company, as my new plan would not start until my new bill date, being March 23rd.

Our daughter was away at University. When she was leaving her apartment, she got a bill for over $3,200 for damages. When I saw $500 for taps on the bathroom sink, I almost lost it. We called LegalShield, faxed a copy of the invoice and they graciously wrote a letter on our behalf. The invoice was adjusted to about $1,200 was reasonable for the damages. I figure that alone covered the cost of my membership for at least 6 years! I will never give up my LegalShield membership.
