    LegalShield is a great company for people that have legal issues or would just like to have thing your will and other legal matters. My husband and I have been a part of Legalshield for 9+ years and we have been pleased with their services. One instance is we had just bought a van and the dealership was taking forever to get us our permanent tag and my husband got tired of waiting and contacted LegalShield. In 4hrs. we had an attorney calling asking what we wanted done. They wrote a letter on our behalf to the dealership and 24-48 hours we had our tags plus about $270 back for the taxes we paid for the van.

    Using the service for the past 24 years and over 400 times, my overall customer experience is roughly 70% positive, though not great. This relates to the help and guidance from the law firms but excludes customer service. I feel customer service used to be consistently and predictably wonderful, with alert, knowledgeable, and competent CSRs. However, I recently called in with a simple question, spoke with three different CSRs and got three different and contradictory answers. This frustrating experience has become so common over the past few years, it pains me to call in about anything, not knowing if I'll get a real answer, let alone an accurate one. Regardless, and in spite of what feels like a growing number of challenges at the corp level, it's still better to have the service than not to.

    I call LegalShield in Nov of 2021. They sent me to Davis Miles Mcgurie and Gardne in Arizona. These lawyers lied to me and did not do as I ask and hired them to do this went on for 7 months. Their lawyers legal shield sent me to lied and deceived me. Yes I know legal shield wants everyone to believe that the customer is the stupid one. But don't expect to get a refund or any satisfaction because no matter what legal shield does not care and they will tell you how stupid you are for trying and they know they can get away with it because the state bar of Arizona will always say the cheating lying lawyer is right and the client is always going to be wrong. Yes that's right and thanks to Mr Reid ** at the state bar of Arizona legal shield is right. Legal shield is a scam

    I have been a client for more than 20 years, nor did I use (luckily) the service. I needed to make and legalize my will and it is impossible to do it. They do not answer the phone and the only time I managed to communicate, They gave me bad information. Not recommendable.

    It's not a fun situation when you need to call lawyers. LegalShield brings an already very frustrated legal situation to the next level. My previous workplace used to have a legal plan program, I thought LegalShield will be similar... Completely wrong. First of all, the 4 hours return call is always a joke. Lawyers usually don't return call within that time frame. If you urgently need their advice/action, and you need your home attorney office for referral to another state's lawyer, expect days of wait and you will have to keep following up and see why no one call you back.

    Secondly, LegalShield don't seem to vet their attorneys. They sent me to an unethical lawyer and apparently there is no standard/rules to adhere to be LegalShield's network attorney. Long story short, the lawyer did not do what I retained him for, and he did not show up at the court date and a flat rate fee of $7400 turned into endless extortion. I paid $15k legal fees, a simple non-juridical issue is not resolved and damaged so badly, worst than before I retained him.

    I understand there are bad apples and I also know this review is for LegalShield not for the unethical lawyer. You would think LegalShield will have their members' back. No, they don't. Many calls to LegalShield's home law firm, their referral department, their customer resolutions. Either they don't return calls, or "Sorry, we can't help". Most of the time, they don't even want to hear the story and interrupt and said "we can't help". Sometimes, I think they make it worse.

    When they look into problems, instead of asking their client first, they asked the lawyer first. They allowed the lawyer to submit their evidence, but refused me to submit mine. This shows how much they "care" about you, LegalShield members. To summarize, I paid $50/month for LegalShield's service so they can refer someone to rob myself. When reported to LegalShield, there is nothing they can do about it.

    I joined Legal Shield because like many hard-working Americans I was enticed by the idea that I could have an attorney to work my case without paying upfront legal fees that can be expensive. The first time I dealt with them, it was an unemployment case during the pandemic and was lucky enough to get a very good lawyer who resolved my case so that I stopped getting the run-around and received my benefits.

    I've had some letters written, but had to work hard to get my point across as the attorneys were hard-pressed to 1. believe me though I presented viable information that I did not owe the creditors in question 2. had to repeatedly stay on top of the lawyer to ensure that they actually sent letters as there were times when 3. they would BLAME ME for not sending the required documentation when it's done electronically and THERE IS A DIGITAL FOOTPRINT.

    The last situation took the cake! I was working for a large employer here in Georgia and had some issues with blatant discrimination and retaliatory behavior. When I finally received a call from the lawyer, she was silent, barely spoke, never asked for details in the case, and stated "...well...you still work there..." as if to say "what you are complaining about? so what if you're being discriminated against...you should be grateful to have a job and that they haven't fired you.." It was disgusting and unconscionable!

    Oh but it gets better, she called the company in question to tell them that I was going to file an EEOC complaint amongst other things! How do I know? Well, they called me into a meeting and told me the same thing that she told me, "Well, at least you still work here!...Why would you file a complaint?" Gee, thanks cut-throat second-rate "lawyer". Most of their attorneys seem to not be very good and have dismissed that they are supposed to represent THEIR CLIENT (NOT THE DEFENDANT) WITH ZEAL! This is just a paycheck.

    LegalShield experience depends on the draw--Lawyers are chosen for you. On my case, the correspondence sent for my review was riddled with errors. Twice. The next time LegalShield sent the "final" letter for review, it was NOT MY CASE. They sent me the wrong letter containing detailed information of another's case!! I informed them of their mistake, but received no acknowledgment other than a form email with my final letter attached...still with mistakes. I'm quite certain I will not win this case now.

    LegalShield recommended a real estate lawyer whom I contracted with to represent me in a battle over deed restrictions. Lawyer wanted a 10k retention fee. Trusting Legal Shield’s recommended, I paid the fee. It has been three years and lawyer has done NOTHING. I called and visited the lawyer many times, emailed many times. Each visit, each phone call, each email was the same, “Working on it.” Three years!!!! Lawyer isn’t working on anything. I don’t recommend Legal Shield. Lawyers will take your fees, do nothing and live lavish lifestyles on YOUR money.

    I don't want to talk about it. Horrible experience. I would not recommend this to anyone. The firm I got assigned to did not assist me in any way. I spent money with them for essentially no reason. I threw my money in the trash.

    I was introduced by a person I knew from real estate who invited me to a Zoom where I heard a testimony of a man that made millions but before was broke and it spoke to me so I signed up. I went on to sign up 6 associates in a month and 3 cancelled due to negative sentiments about the company. I was owed $1600+ with commission and bonuses but they did not pay me because and paused my application because I offended a woman in their application review department that thought I was signing people up and lying to them. I signed up Christians that I knew and I did have a record 21 years ago but signed up three times for LegalShield in the past 10 years and it was never an issue until now when they owe me nearly 2k.

    I submitted everything they asked me to and they still denied my application and I was completely righteous in all my dealing with them and did things by the book. The experience was terrible, on the very day I was to get paid they placed me on hold then held me hostage for 3 plus weeks dragging their feet on a closed case from 2001. I would avoid them at all costs as far as a business opportunity goes. They will charge back anything that doesn't stay on the books a full year and not all do. **

    I keep receiving emails from a previous job search account on CareerBuilder from ** entitled "Important Information Regarding Your Resume on CareerBuilder", claiming to represent LegalShield. I have absolutely no matching skills for this type of job (nor any desire to work for them), so I assume they just flood everyone to see what happens. I've asked her to stop, yet the emails keep coming. Going to block them now, but it gives me the feeling that LegalShield and its reps are not on the level. Not a good view of LegalShield or CareerBuilder for allowing this type of garbage to continue.

    Poor Customer Service. One attorney commented that they have been coddled. The attorneys don’t seem to be educated or experienced in their scope. Several of my issues were not remedied. They can care less about people's issues. Many services promised but not delivered.

    LegalShield is very unprofessional and potentially dangerous to third parties, this company does not screen who signs up for their services, my granddaughter's father doesn’t have visitation rights to see her and it’s court ordered, Legal Shield allowed a third party that is not the parent to try to retain services pretending to be my granddaughter's mother and somehow the lawyers partnered they acquired addresses that the father wasn’t supposed to have and gave it to him and the third party putting other's safety at risk. The lack of accountability of the company is unprofessional, our lawyers tried to call legal shield and their partners attorney and we have not got a response, they give the run around along with a nasty attitude. We had to file a police report against the third party who retained Legal Shield's services claiming to be my granddaughter's mother, this company has a poor reputation, if you are dealing with this company be careful.

    Prior to the "Great Pandemic" I had built up a company I had started in 2007 and we were making money in construction. By the end of 2021 it was obvious things weren't getting better anytime soon. Between customers failing to pay, investment capital holding up new projects, and supply chain issues driving up the cost of materials, I was in way over my head. After spending an entire year just paying the interest on personal debt I finally joined LegalShield and had a conversation with Randy ** in the Tacoma office.

    Randy was patient and listened intently as we went through all the different facets. Initially he advised me against going through with it due to various reasons. Since there was a slim chance things could work out. He pointed out some indicators to watch for as time went on. Six months later events caused the indicators to manifest, and when I contacted him again to explain, he agreed to proceed. They sent some questionnaires and after I filled them out Randy and I spoke several times and at great length. His paralegal, Amy, is a living angel. There were a total of 56 pages in the final Chapter 7 filing. I was amazed at her friendly and supportive help getting through some of the sections, and the huge amount of work sorting everything out into the correct category.

    Randy was very informative, taking the time to make sure I understood my exact standing, what to expect, and a very honest view of what the most probable outcome would be for me. The key is honesty. If you are straightforward with them, they will be the same. Don't try to hide anything, they are not there to judge you, they are only interested in helping.

    My bankruptcy was filed 12/31/2021 and discharged in May of 2022. Is it painless? No, there are rules, and you just can't cheat. But I can promise that if you are lucky enough to wind up with Randy ** as your attorney the process will be surprisingly low stress, and that 10 ton weight that's been crushing you will suddenly be gone. It will then be up to you to build your new life without feeling like you're drowning in debt every day. I've never left a review like this for anyone before, but then, no one has ever earned my admiration like the Randy and Amy team at Legal Shield, Tacoma.

    If they can’t understand handling of my personal info, how much more poorly will they handle your legal needs? I decided to cancel service after finding the website advertised any subject outside your plan, you get 25% discount. What I got: the actual contract distinguished personal and business (the website does not). Suddenly my costs doubled just to have a simple, small business form made. They have no interest keeping your data secure in any reasonable manner. Their website design and data management is so substandard to the point a young kid could design it, and in fact some of the worst I’ve seen in my 25 yrs in the industry. They don’t offer any form of double authentication. When I call, they say they removed the credit card info - but it’s only when I say “but I’m logged in and see it” they finally distinguish it’s from their internal system and not my profile (yet the whole time I was very specific I wanted my profile info deleted).

    I asked by email, with my cancel request, to delete my login, profile and credit card info. It’s been 6 weeks and I’ve received one email saying “we received your request”. No confirmation yet, of actual cancellation of the plan nor my data purge request. I can still log in, still see my credit card info and profile. It still shows my plan listed.

    I submitted a document I needed to sign through the LegalShield app. and requested that a Lawyer review it for any red flags. A Lawyer called me and assured me there was nothing of concern in the document but also made sure I understood everything it said and any possible consequences of my signing it. This was way easier than my reading it and attempting to understand all the legal jargon in the document... and it did not cost any extra beyond the low monthly subscription fee.

    I am a military veteran. I have paid for Legal Shield membership for over 10 years, the one time that I needed my services for a tax suit the attorneys I was forced to use, Riling, Burkhead and Nitcher in Kansas, refused to send my Missouri case to Dubail Judge in MO, where I used to reside which is where trial would also take place, not Kansas. As a veteran I also called in to have them work another case which was a veteran matter, and for a second time I was given the lowest rate lawyer service I could imagine. When the attorney called me on that matter he stated he couldn't even remember where he read part of the law he was quoting to me as legal advice. This was the managing partner of that firm. How can anyone expect the legal advice they get as sound advice when the attorney can't remember where he read something he's advising you on?

    Now further into my case, when I filed a complaint with Legal Shield corporate they sided with the law firm, further to that, when I stated if they would not review the actions they took not following Legal Shield Procedure for referral on out of state cases, I would get my money back that I paid in. I filed a my complaint because the advice that the Kansas Firm gave me, was incorrect and misleading, they wanted the case off their book to just get paid is how it seemed to me. Because I had to learn of the procedure form the opposing counsel and judge, not the attorneys who were supposed to be advising me.

    If they would have sent me to the lawyers I had requested and should have been sent to, the advice and counsel I would have received would have been better. But instead, Legal Shield Cancelled my membership stating "Company Decision", no one called me, emailed me, not to mention this was directly after the Lawyer Mike Riling, said he would call me back on Thursday with an update to the law he couldn't remember that he had just read, when in reality they worked with Legal Shield on Wednesday to cancel my membership.

    So I had 300 hours of trial defense, gone, no refund, I have two legal matters that I now have to hire other attorneys for all because I put my trust in Legal Shield to be there when I needed it. But when I threatened to use my membership which I was actively trying to save for issues like this, they cancel it because of what? Because I threatened to give you legal matters, especially a Veteran issue?! Yet cancel a member after over a decade of paying for your services and then be told, sucks to be YOU!

    That is my experience with Legal Shield and Riling, Burkhead and Nitcher in Kansas, Legal Shield refuses to tell me the reason for cancellation, refuses to refund me, refuses to respond, and refuses to respond to the BBB. That is the company I paid money to for over a decade. I strongly urge anyone to consider any other service or firms before putting your faith in this company that they will be there when you need them.

We have a process in place to ensure that members have access to lawyers that are competent and experienced in the area of law needed as well as licensed appropriately. Our system does not allow for "Attorney-of-choice". We also strictly adhere to our contracted schedule of benefits. Services outside of the schedule of benefits are typically available at a reduced hourly rate.

    In regard to the status of your membership, though it is rare, there are some reasons a membership may be canceled per company option, whether by PPLSI or a PPLSI Provider Law Firm. This information can be located in any membership contract as well as online at: http://contracts.legalshield.com/contracts/LSESSOK.821.pdf. When a membership is canceled per company option, PPLSI notifies the member by a dated and signed letter, explaining the matter and advising if any refund will be processed. If the Company cancels the Contract, Services will only be provided for those events reported in writing to the Provider Law Firm during the Eligibility Period.     At the recommendation of the provider, I was switched to a personal package that I was told included trial defense from a business package that also had trial defense. I was sued by a renter and was told I had coverage by the LegalShield provider. Then I was told I didn't have coverage followed by I had coverage then finally I didn't have coverage. Meanwhile the Minneapolis affiliate told me they filed a counterclaim. After he quit I found out he did not. My claim was not tossed. I have since requested legal consults and it's been 2 days with no call back from LegalShield. My account is in good standing. This was a 900.00 claim. Managing LegalShield was more cost than the actual loss. Complaint on file at MN AG and MN bar. I will update this as it unfolds.

    I signed up for Legalshield November 23, 2021. I attempted to use the service multiple times. The Attorneys sometimes responded but never followed up. Cancelling the service is HELL! When I tried to cancel my (worst experience of my life). The customer service agent began reading a 15 minute script (it's rude) explaining everything I was "losing". I asked multiple time, "please stop reading the script and cancel my subscription". He refused to stop. This lasted 15 minutes. Then after being on the phone with multiple people, one who just put me through to a recording of their cancellation policy.

    Per the recording I had to "send an email, with my membership number and the word 'cancel'". I sent the email April 15th, only to receive an email stating the following: "You’ve Successfully Activated Your Account!" I checked my credit card statement April 29th and they're still charging me. Does anyone know how to read their code and stop them from taking your money?

    I subscribed for their service ($29.95 per month) and at first it seem great. But as time passed and I needed them again (now I prepaid 6 months in advance) they assigned me to Davis Miles McGuire (DMG) in Tempe, AZ. I needed help with a major tax question. I called DMG and after speaking to an attorney (no cost for this call) from their office I was referred me to another attorney, Elliott **. I made an appt with Elliott ($195.00). After consulting with Elliott, he was going to charge me another $2500 to research my tax needs and to provide CPA. Well, that went nowhere. I never heard from Elliott again. I attempted on three different dates to contact him and left messages to call me. He never did.

    I called LegalShield and they said is not their problem. They have no control over the attorneys. They just collect their fee ($29.95 per month) and clients are on their own! I called the State of AZ Bar Association (Mr. **) and they said they could not force Elliott to respond. However, Mr. ** did contact Elliott and Elliott said, "Oh, I can not help him". After months of waiting this is all he has to say? I called DMG and they refused to refund my $195. I called LegalShield and they refused to offer full refund. DMG claims that they are "The Only Law Firm You Will Ever Need". This is a bunch of **. I found out the Elliott IS NOT WITH THEIR LAW FIRM. You should stay away from, LegalShield, DMG, and Elliott **. They take your money at every level and then refuse to help you.

    On 09/23/2021 I hired legal for a small one time case. I made all necessary arrangements on the phone with their rep Cordero who was also was my single point of contact. On 07/04/2022 I discovered that LegalShield had been taking $53.85 from my bank account unauthorized every month since 10/23/2021 thru 03/23/2022.. As soon as I realized what was going on I called Cordero to see what happened, he expressed that was not supposed to have happened and he would take of it by getting my money back into my bank account.

    After Calling Cordero the second time he blocked my number, I called him from a different number and he picked right up, I asked him to please unblock my number, he told me NO and gave me his supervisor's number. I called his supervisor Mr. **. Mr. ** expressed that he had spoken to Cordero on this matter and assured me he (**) would take of it.. So far I have not been contacted and now ** will not answer my phone calls or respond to my text. I've hit a brick wall with this organization. They took my money unauthorized and will not give it back. Arthur **.

    You get nothing for the plan price. You want real legal action? Pay a lawyer thousands of dollars. This is just lunch money to them. All they did was write my landlord a letter, and dropped me like a sack of garbage. Save your money. Still having issues with my landlord. I'll just have to move because my "Lawyer" couldn't do anything to a certified slumlord.

    Legal Shield referred me to a law firm. What they don't tell you is that two of these lawyers were both disbarred in California & Florida. They take your money without representation. Being investigated by two states with the Bar Associations, State and Federal Government. We won't stop until they are investigated, fined and thrown out of Legal Shield!

    Customer service department needs A LOT of work. I called to cancel my membership, they said I needed to email them, so I did and didn't receive a reply til 5 day later. My law firm that I called multiple times was not helpful AT ALL. All they ever said was we need more information, every time I called about the same situation it was always something different needing more information. I felt as if they did not really care or make a effort to help. Thought it would be worth it but really a huge waste of my time. Disappointed.

    I've been with LegalShield from 2006 until 2022. This is the worst legal ever in history. I've been with them for over 15yrs and plus they never told me what's included in my membership until I call in and ask about it. I only used this service 5 times. Three-time to send out letters and two-time for the court which the other person didn't show up which made the case easier. Meaning my lawyer's got paid $500+ for just saying hello and goodbye, twice. Now, here's my big problem. eBay has been abusing every single seller and buyer and getting away with it. eBay stole money from me and gave it to another buyer for a refund which I never sold anything to this person. The money that eBay stole from me was my process money from another sale which they gave to that person on a refund, which I didn't sell anything to. Plus, they have so many illegal hidden fees from, shipping, final fees, buying taxes, selling taxes, etc...

    Anyways, I sent in a lot of evidence to LegalShield on my behalf about eBay on what they have been doing to me and thousands of other sellers and buyers. I even told him to google on Trustpilot eBay reviews. He told me, "I believe we got something here." (Duh, of course!) Anyways, after going through mental abuse from eBay for about a whole month and I was still sending in more evidence to my lawyer between that time. He sent in a letter, no response back from eBay. The lawyer calls me and tells me the dumbest news ever. His words, "I've had to bring this attention to my team and they kinda LAUGH at me... so the only thing I can do is refer you to another branch because WE can't take this case!" What? First of all, you don't call your client back (two weeks later) and tell them that your team laughs about a serious situation that's causing mental and physical abuse. When I agree to his referring to another branch...

    I ask him would he tell the new lawyer what's was going on and send him all the information that I was sent to him. His words again; "I don't have time to do that, so you're on your own. I have other cases to worry about!!!!" That really pissed me off when he told me that after what I have been going through lately for a whole month. I reported the lawyer and customer service said they were going to get another one to call me back. Guess what? NOBODY HAVEN'T CALL ME BACK YET AND IT HAS BEEN TWO WEEKS SINCE I'VE HAD SPOKEN TO ANY LAWYER! Then I had another problem with WATA GAME's false advertisement. I was supposed to get my games back in 35 speed days. Well, I didn't receive them back so I gave LegalShield and call once again. I've sent evidence to LegalShield and show them other reviews online those other customers were experiencing the same problem.

    Wata Games went online and had google shut down their reviews so they can cover up their own tracks from customers that were having a bad experience with them. LegalShield agreed that what Wata games were doing was false advertisements, etc... Legalshield calls some lawyer in Denver to take the case. Here goes the email from the lawyer that Legalshield referred me too. (Your LegalShield Membership entitles you to a 25% discount off my $450 hourly rate for legal services. Would you like to schedule a telephone call to discuss the "$1,500 retainer" required to engage Cantafio Nagel & Song PLLC? Thank you for your consideration.) When I google the law firm that Legalshield referred me to, they had very bad reviews. I took my chance and ignore the bad reviews and called the number that I was given by LegalShield. Well, the bad reviews are right! He wouldn't let me ask one question... All I keep on hearing is, I need money.

    I told him I'll call him back and I called LegalShield back instead of him. Legalshield agreed with me and said that they are sorry for referring me to a high-price rude lawyer like that and there isn't anything else that they can do. I said, what???? Now, this was coming from a supervisor that works at LegalShield named Debbie. Meaning, LegalShield can't give me any more recourses and I'm on my own. Wow, really LegalShield?!?! Then a few days later this lawyer from LegalShield had called me back and said she would try to help. Laura D, sent out letters and emails to WATA games warning them of a lawsuit. She stated, return my game's back graded and the money that I paid for the games and $2500 dollar compensation fee.

    Well, two weeks later I received one game back and no money and an email from WATA game's making up more excuses why they can't send out the other game. I sent the copy of the email to Laura and she even wasn't happy either with the WATA game's email response back to me. She told me, "Just wait until you receive the other game back and we'll take more action against them." She told me to call her back when I receive the other game and I said ok.

    In the letter, Laura even stated to WATA games, "this matter will not simply go away." Now, two weeks later I got a PPLSI letter in the mail from LegalShield saying this, (dear, my name, based on circumstance and information we have, LegalShield will not be able to continue to provide contractual benefits and services under your membership. By means of this letter, we are informing you that we are canceling your membership contract with LegalShield and refunding the unused portion, which was only $11.35 cents.

    When I have seen this letter I was confused and hurt because I didn't do anything wrong and plus, Laura D, was helping me. I called the number that was provided in the letter and they said, they don't know why my membership was canceled and to email member services. I did and guess what, no response back. I called three times back to LegalShield just to hear them say "we don't know why your membership was canceled and we can't tell you on our end." I said can you have a supervisor call me back. When the supervisor had called me back from LegalShield she said the reps had lied and could have told me the truth why the possibilities why your membership was canceled and the email that the reps provided to me was pointless. The reason was stated, fraud, no payment or we can't help you with your problem so instead of taking your money every month we'll just cancel your member's membership.

    She said the only reason that she can see "why LegalShield" had canceled my membership is because LegalShield itself "can't" help me with my problems and Legalshield isn't for "YOU." I ask why? She said she doesn't have the information. I told her me and Laura D, was getting some progress done about WATA game's so what are you talking about. She said, "I'm sorry but there's nothing else I can tell you." I told her to even ask Laura that works at LegalShield and she wouldn't. I hung up the phone. Now you're telling me after paying LegalShield $17.00 a month from 2006-until 2022 that their service wasn't for me.

    Really after all of the years of paying for a membership that I really didn't use at all and when I did I still didn't get the help that I needed?! Legalshield just scammed me for all of those years just to tell me that their services weren't for me! Legalshield needs to be reported in for scamming customers to the BBB FTC, ETC... STAY AWAY FROM LEGALSHIELD, PLEASE DO!

    Very poor quality service and IRRESPONSIBLE law firm for us. We were happy to find a reasonable fees and legal service we needed but at last we felt we just wasted our time and money. This is just our feedback for our experience. We had two cases personal case and business case so we monthly subscribed two programs. None of them did work for our simple cases and the law firm we were assigned was joke. Literarily saying that they do not take care of their clients responsibly.

    We were basically obligated to communicate with them via emails but every time auto response says it takes three business days no matter how simple inquires you email, they don't respond you thru the phone calls. However they don't even respond you unless you email multiple times. It took us more than two weeks to get ONE demand letter draft and emailed them to notify them of approval of the letter but the attorney left it for couple of days and kept asking us the approval of the letter again. We don't think they check out their clients' emails carefully and responsibly. Probably they don't care of the client uses this program for cheap price to use a legal service, we felt.

    We felt we were assigned unluckily with a poor quality service so we called the LegalShield support to find another law firm but amazingly ONLY one law firm each state and roughly explained us to ask the same law firm for a referral to introduce another firm?! It's amazing service ask the subscriber to negotiate with law firm to find another firm by ourselves. The LegalShield support is NOT a support dept but they just a department to handle a complain and push back. As a typical idea about a sales talk, they all explain you only good part of their program but the service and program are not as good as they explain. Find a local attorney's office by the bar association without this program was hundred times better for us.

    I called a many times asking them that is urgent and that they should call me back. They said "yes, of course". And of course nobody called me back... It so embarrassing. I paid service and didn't receive service, plus I wasted and time and energy relying on them. Second thing is that they employed person or accepted as a customer that they were advising me about, and then they kicked me out as client because of conflict of interest, instead they not to accept that person as a client from the same reason.

    Their Write your Will Services is very questionable. Paralegal didn't even ask to see our past will or trust. Just put a simple will together and then didn't get it to use before the deadline. They don't have email or voicemail. Takes 30 minutes just to book an appointment with a paralegal. Never once talked to an attorney. When you try and contact Legal Shield through Facebook messenger, they send you to a instant chat that doesn't work and then a 800 # that has no humans and send you right back to the law firm. I am dropping our membership. Super cheap rates get you super poor service.

    I have a problem with my landlord who apparently has a membership with LegalShield as well. Because of this, when I called LegalShield to ask them for assistance, I was told that they cannot help me because there is a conflict of interest. They referred me to 3 attorneys who did not help me at all. The last one told me that he's running a business, so he can't give me advice for free. In other words, LegalShield is charging me every month, but is not helping me.

    All I needed was a simple letter sent to a corporation asking why I didn't receive a perk that I requested. I was not filing a lawsuit or claim any loss. I just needed a simple letter requesting a service answer. A letter from a law firm would have probably gotten a good response from the corporation. That was a simple, basic request. The attorney was disinterested and in a hurry. By the way, I was able to get a letter created and sent from a non-prepaid attorney for $250. That's all I wanted, a simple letter.

    I canceled my services with Legal Shield in 11/2020. They told me everything was done & finished only to find out the only canceled my business portion but not my membership (kept charging my account). I noticed this a few month later & contacted them again in early 2021. After speaking with a supervisor they assured me everything was canceled. Now in January 2022 I notice a charge to my account from legal shield & I called & not only did they not cancel me, they did not document my account well & they misinformed me. This new supervisor, Tracey (with no last name or supervisor # because as he said, "I am the only supervisor named Tracey in the company." (I wonder how does he know that in a worldwide Co.) Told me my cancelation had to be received in writing. I was never told that.

    Legal Shield STOLE $25 from me for a year and still have not responded to my cancellation email I sent this morning. This makes NO sense especially from a legal company. Make sure when you cancel that you send an email. I would not trust the mailing system because I believe they would keep charging you & say they never received it. Totally unethical company in my view right now & I would not refer them to anyone!

    Such a bad a experience. I was told 3 different versions of benefits. I paid for more than 12 months. I called back to back to get this going. Then lost my job and called back to reactivate and they at first said, "Yes you just need $24.99," then another person said, "Sorry for the confusion, the new monthly payment is $29 plus" and I’ll have to start from scratch. This sucks especially when you have a case going on. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. GO To a lawyer's office directly and make payment arrangements. This is not real. From personal and family experience.

    Not a satisfying experience and unfortunately not unexpected, either. It's impossible in short review list all the issues I have encountered trying to use this service. And generally it could work on occasion, which is a main problem - randomly, if certain conditions are met, you may get your issue helped with at low cost. But it's unpredictable and unreliable. For me it was experience with some incompetent or uninterested or arrogant and unfriendly (or all of this together) attorneys, customer services reps who would make clearly incorrect statements or hung up on you, messed up internal Legalshield communications, cumbersome internal regulations of the Legalshield, etc.

    Just an example - needed help with legal issues in Florida. Ok, since I live in CA I can not be just referred to Legalshield attorney in Fl - need first to call CA firm I have to be 'bonded' with, then they provide referral to some other firm contracted with Legalshield in Fl. That costed me a week of waiting. Then turned out the Fl firm can't provide a service for unknown reason and the other one who generally could will not because Legalshield does not allow it since it should serve West Fl and my business is in East Fl where their first firm is located. So another week and I get referral to another lawyer in East Fl but turned out (nobody mentioned it till I started to talk to that lawyer) that he is not contracted with Legalshield, so please would I pay $300 for the consultation? Which is generously 25% off his 'standard fee' due to been referred by Legalshield. What's the 'standard fee'? Oh, it's...just a moment... 25% more than $300 :-). Nice.

    Customer service rep assured me it's not a reason to get upset - I already got my free consultation, did not I? When?? Oh, when I talked to 'my CA firm - they consulted me to be referred to Fl attorney. That helped. Things like that may sound absurd but that's my experience. Together with things like listening to attorney who is trying to convince me that service I'm paying for is not a 'product' so I should not complain if I'm not happy with it (is basic Economy a part of legal education?), or that I need to agree to financial settlement even though I did not do anything wrong (naïve me seemingly not understanding that he is not there to 'fight' for me but to make sure things are getting resolved with the maximum convenience to him), etc.

    So in the end I'm cancelling my membership finding it not useless but actually detrimental, considering all the time and energy lost trying to get meaningful advice. Which is itself more complicated process than buying it. I did not try and did not need things like putting together a will or fighting a traffic ticket - maybe it's much easier to accomplish - but considering how often I would need things like that, and all additional headache seemingly associated with it... Thanks, better spend efforts on keeping away from all things 'legal' and particularly from specimens of this wonderful profession. When need arises in the next 15 years I think I better just pay cash and get service directly.

    I have been with Legal Shield since 2011 (now it's 2022) when I signed up under an insurance program. The best I've ever gotten was a cease and desist letter from one of their attorney to my neighbor with a bad attitude and Will. Everything else is a complete joke. They can't even beat a traffic ticket. The attorneys take a week to respond, and when they do, they already completely forgot about your case. Customer service doesn't help much either as they contribute to the runaround and when you demand to get in contact with your attorney, their solution is to just give you a new clueless lawyer to restart the madness. I think the idea of pre-paid or discounted membership legal representation is a great idea, however, you get what you pay for.

    The attorneys here are useless (especially the ones in Atlanta). Do yourself a favor and create an account, contribute the same money that you would have paid Legal shield, and by the time you need help from an attorney, you can afford quality and seasoned one. Legal Shield attorneys are like shrubs posing as a tree, they are both plants, but they are built differently from other attorneys. I'm a very Unhappy Customer- I got fed up and canceled my membership today as I have given up all hopes and confidence in Legal Shield and their attorneys.

    After almost 20 years of paying into this service then needing to use the service... In my opinion I was referred to the worst attorneys. Not b/c any cases were lost or b/c I didn't hear what I wanted to hear, but... One never showed up. One didn't do the work asked, and I did ALL the work myself and I got the expected results. There's sooo much more so look out for a full and detailed video on your favorite social media network.

    I was referred by Legal Shield to a law firm, Parker Stanberry in Los Angeles. It was about a matter involving a trust. I found that each attorney that they connected me with was absolutely a knowledgeable about the trust issue. One even went so far as to tell me I did not inherit anything when the will and the trust clearly state that I was the beneficiary. And then when I challenged the law firm and the kind of people that they hire I was banned from it. Plus I was overcharged on membership fee for one month.

    I obtained LegalShield through a former employer. I thought it was a great idea to have a legal plan, just like health insurance. When that job ended, I was contacted and asked if I wanted to keep my coverage. I said yes. Now I am in a situation where I need a document reviewed. Very simple. Attorney's office was rude. Any time I asked a question, they would interrupt. Apparently, they do all the talking and you just shut up and listen. They claimed that had not received my documents.

    Today I got an e-mail stating they still had not received my documents and were closing my case. I have contacted the attorney's office and Legal Shield. I called and spoke with a rep. It all seemed sketchy, so I looked at BBB and ConsumerAffairs reviews. Both the law firm, and Legal Shield have an overall 2 star rating. I'm not sure I have faith in any legal advice that will be provided at this point. I would like to cancel this plan, but it looks like that is going to be a nightmare.

    If any of your legal matters are time sensitive or important to you I would recommend finding a provider other than LegalShield. Monday December 13th I submitted a contract review request to Fiffik Law Group, the Pittsburgh based LegalShield provider, and was contacted the following day on the 14th to discuss what was to be done with the contract. I was told by Fiffik, and Legal Shield claims, that the turnaround time on my only 4 page, very simply worded contact would be within 3 business days. Come Monday December 20th and no one has gotten back to me from the law firm so I called to leave messages and emailed until 12/21 Tuesday afternoon when I finally speak with Megan at Fiffik Law Group.

    I was informed that the person who would be handling my contract did not even have it on her desk until Monday 12/21/21. Almost a week after submitting it and they had now determined that because the contract was governed by laws other than PA that they could not even review it and it would have to be sent out to another provider firm in said state! The irony is that this information in regards to the location of the parties was provided and available to them from day one! At this point I called Legalshield, explained what's going on, and they filed a Customer Resolution Complaint (or similar verbiage), with the law firm to determine what happened and why my contract was not sent to the appropriate provider firm from the start as it should have been.

    LegalSheild tells me that they will act as the mediator by contacting the law firm and then getting back to me typically within 8 hours to work on a resolution. That was Tuesday December 20th at noon. It is now Thursday December 24th so I make one last call to LegalShield to inquire about the status of the complaint and no one at LegalShield can give me any information at all? Not who did the intake, who is working on it, what the provider firm said in response, nothing. Their suggestion was to file another resolution dispute? My suggestion is that if you have LegalShield find a better alternative before this happens to you and if you don't have them steer clear unless you have time to deal with something like this!

    First of all you should know Legal Shield does not cover felony defense. They only offer a 25% discount. They do not handle disability claims or renewals. They will not fill out documents or do pretty much anything. They give a consultation, 1 call and 1 letter for each time you have a legal problem. Pretty much anything you need done except basic things like changing your name or filing the paperwork for a uncontested divorce. But if your debating ownership of property or children they won't cover a divorce.

    And most of the benefits you might use once in your life that are covered are things you would know way before it's a issue and Legal Shield requires you to be a member for a period of time before those benefits are available to use. Best advice is put your money into a bank so if you need a lawyer you can cover it with cash. Because all this service can do is offer a false sense of protection. When it counts they will not be there to fix you problems. They will say here is a 25% coupon and we will refer you to another lawyer. Most things in life you need emergency legal services for are felonies that will not be covered. Unless it's worth paying the premium for 5 minutes of legal advice when you have a issue then you will be disappointed. Don't expect a professional legal services that fix your problems if you get Legal Shield. Because that was definitely not my experience with being a member for almost 1 year.

Depending upon the phase of your legal situation, the benefits may have been limited to the pre-existing benefit which allows for a discounted rate. There are also notice requirement timelines for court appearances noted in the contract.     We paid for this service for months. Times called for emergency use of needing an attorney to fight for us. We sent all documentation asked of us. Called immediately back the only two times we missed a call from attorneys just to have an email and letter sent to us stating they could never reach us and we did not get them documentation needed and this and that.

    You must put in a call to the attorneys and then you wait and HOPE they call you back. It is not convenient by any means. We never got told anything to file or what we needed to file. No help answering our court documents and no lead as to what we could even possibly do. We 110% got the run around. We would not recommend LegalShield from our experience at this point and it’s very unfortunate because I could definitely see the potential of it all.

    I joined Legal Shield with high hopes of finding an affordable way to contact an attorney for a small business. Right from the very beginning, the user experience issues I had with the website and the customer service of trying to get help with the website was frustrating. I spoke to 4 different service agents about trying to do the main function of the service which is to contact a lawyer. I needed an attorney to look over a contract that had a deadline, and it took a day and a half of talking to different service agents to get any help. I decided to cancel the service, because I couldn't use it.

    When I went to cancel, the woman I spoke to on the phone was extremely helpful and I decided to give it another chance. She was able to look up the contact information of my assigned attorney. Once I contacted the attorney, they looked at my contract and interacting with the attorney was just fine. I ended up not needing attorney services for the coming year of the business, and asked to cancel the service.

    They really make you jump through hoops to cancel a membership. You have to call, then write them a letter. It seems like they intentionally make it difficult to cancel, which is in my opinion, bad customer service. Good companies offer gracious and easy methods to cancel if a customer truly wants to cancel, so the excuse that they give which is "We must ensure that the person requesting cancellation is authorized to do so." is truly just an excuse, because I spoke to 2 people who verified my identity and I still needed to go through a third channel to cancel.

    Overall, I would not recommend it to small business owners. The website is not as user friendly as it could be, there are too many touch points of customer service without a unified method of helping people, and an unnecessarily lengthy method of canceling a membership. I wasted more time during my day, trying to work with their methods, and they came up short. Also, they are an MLM, so if you have any ethical issues with supporting MLM's, then it's important to know that that is how the company is structured.

    You never know which lawyer or customer service person will provide great service, mediocre service, or downright disrespectful service. Some of their lawyers are extremely condescending and patronizing and the same goes for their agents who answer the phone. If the customer had the answers they would not need to consult with subscription services like LegalShield but that being stated does not mean that the customer should be disrespected or treated as just another number. I had an issue with a vendor who was withholding a deposit for an event that could not be held due to COVID-19 restrictions on indoor events in Maryland. The lawyer sent a brief letter that had a glaring misspelled word. The fact that the lawyer didn't take the time to proofread their correspondence was silly.

    Fast-forward I had an issue with a tenant and the lawyer assigned was so patronizing and rude, literally cut me off mid-sentence, and seemed pissed off that she had to call me after 5 pm on a Friday. She refused to hear anything I stated and seemed more intent on displaying her "superior intelligence" than trying to provide a viable solution to the issue. Months prior I was seeking advice on how to deal with a car manufacturer that had a defect in their vehicle and I was injured. Instead of calling me back as promised, they had an outside firm call me but failed to inform me of what was happening.

    Some attorneys have been very kind, informative and not only listened but came up with solutions that made sense. If you need legal correspondence, some advice on legal matters, or minor contract issues, they are probably a decent resource but don't dare question the advice they provide, even if you are looking for clarity that might cause a ruckus.

    I had purchased a LegalShield ID Shield plan a while back and just had it for insurance and peace of mind purposes. I would receive an update every now and then letting me know if there had been any identity theft triggers and it was nice to know I was protected. I decided to purchase a LegalShield business plan online based on the services they offer and the reasonable price of $99.00 per month.

    Days had gone by as I attempted to log in to access my plan multiple times and could not. I am a website developer so I was pretty sure it was not a user error but I wanted to be sure to get this fixed. When I had some time about a week after purchasing the plan I called the customer service phone number. I was on the phone for 45 minutes and they could not provide me with access to this plan nor were they willing to open a ticket to correct the issue. They stated they would open a ticket but were unwilling to provide a reference number for the ticket and placed me on hold multiple times.

    I had decided after 40 minutes on the phone call I wanted to cancel the business and IDShield membership plans out of frustration due to the lack of knowledge and/or willingness of the customer service representatives to help. They transferred me from one customer service representative to another in order to cancel the two plans.

    When the second rep told me they would transfer me again, I sternly asked for the email to cancel the membership in writing which I was finally given. Overall I would be very skeptical with the ability of the LegalShield customer service team to assist if you have an issue with your account. This unfortunately is not a review of the actual LegalShield plan, but of the unscrupulous tactics of the two customer service representatives I spoke to. I had followed the instructions and emailed support@legalshieldcorp.com as advised and did not receive a confirmation that it was received. This was also sent to the CEO of LegalShield Jeff Bell. My email software shows it was opened 15 times but here we are nearly two days later and no response.

    At this point in time after the runaround, poorly trained customer service staff, poor overall communication when attempting to cancel the membership I do not plan on doing business with this company. I hope this review helps change the culture to be more customer service-centric. I plan to dispute the charge with my bank if I do not receive any type of communication with this company. This of course is just my experience and hopefully, yours will be better.

    I'm an Etsy seller who received automated trademark infringements. I sell replacement products and products that work with other branded products. This is generally protected through nominative fair use. The first attorney I spoke to said it's not part of my plan to have him look at my online shop. He refused to even look at my advertisement/product. He hung up on me when I asked to clarify what he wanted me to do. The second lawyer I spoke to, looked at my shop and said 'absolutely infringement' and to stop selling because 'I make money off it'. This lawyer has no idea what normative fair use is. I ended up getting a local intellectual property attorney in my area. She ended up having the company remove all their infringement notices and white listing my online store.

    The card I used for LegalShield payments was canceled due to fraud. Somehow LegalShield started charging the new card that was sent to me. I looked up how to cancel membership and called the number provided. After waiting on hold, lady said 'no problem.' To cancel, 'let me put you on hold so I get all the information for you.' Pretty much you call a number, wait on hold, then have a robot tell you to email them with your member id and write 'cancel'. The people I spoke to who were NOT attorneys were nice and reasonable. Their attorneys treat you as if you're not worth their time.

    I was in a situation where my family attorney couldn’t help me fast enough. A friend referred me to LS, and they saved me from being taken advantage of by an insurance company. My family and my company have saved THOUSANDS of dollars by calling Legalshield to help us know what we should or shouldn’t do, etc. Where my phone goes, my law firm goes. This service can’t be beat. I don’t always get the answer I want to hear, but I’m thankful it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg to find out. Thank you legalshield!

    I used Legalshield for about 4 months and was disappointed to say the least. Their responsiveness was very slow and often you get bounced around to different legal providers and the follow up is poor. When I tried to cancel my services, they gave me the run around as well which was not shocking. You can't cancel online, so I've spent several days trying to get ahold of someone on the phone to cancel. I am so frustrated that I'm to the point of just reporting it as fraud to my credit company. Don't waste your money!

    I joined Legal Shield last year and only decided to use the service In August. My issue involved appealing a denial of public record request in Idaho. I was out in contact with my provider law firm Kival & Howard out of Portland. The experience was unpleasant to say the least when speaking to the legal shield intake. Specialist at the law firm I was insulted the person lacked professionalism and had a very poor attitude he only listens to a quarter of my statement and when I asked him to read back what he took down he let slip the derogatory remark he wrote down about me

    Also when someone says continuous A hum before you even say two words it signals A genuine indifference. I filed a complaint against this person but was never satisfied and never got word of the resolution in-fact I am certain he is still there handling calls. Complaints on the web show this person never is properly disciplined because he is always there to make someone else feel small later on. Beside this insult the provider law said they Would need a cash deposit of 3-5 grand to file some paperwork for my records inquest denial. It only cost 100 bucks to file this document with the court clerk…I asked about the legal shield membership discount and was told that the 3-5 grand was with 25% membership discount. I also had the 35.00 a month membership. Fast forward I decide to cancel the service cause it don’t provide any real benefits to me and my experience was lack luster.

    I am told I have to send a letter to the main office or send email requesting cancellation Or fax my cancellation notice with information proving who I am…K seems simple enough to send email so I sent an email telling I want to cancel and email comes back undeliverable due to domain does not exist thinking I could have made mistake I contacted members services. For the second time to confirm the correct spelling of the support@legalsheildcorp.com address I sent another email to cancel and it came back again undeliverable.

    It’s at that time it became simple to see that there is no legitimate email cancellation option. And the company is very good at making in so arduous to cancel the service. You may have to actually sue them to do so….Anyhow be smart, study law and go to the court clerk yourself, save money and avoid a service that is better at taking money more reliably That it can provide a beneficial service to anyone.     It's so funny that this service can call themselves LegalShield and be doing nothing but stealing folks money. They promise a few different service items and after months and months of paying for the service they refuse to provide the service and they just refer you to pay a lawyer several hundred dollars per hour after the discount to actually think about helping you with your issue. And when you sign up they tell you they will issue a refund if you're not satisfied but they will only give you pennies if anything at all for the remaining days of the month.

    It is absolutely disgusting that these people are lurking to kick you when you're down. After all you already have a legal matter you desperately need help on and they take that desperation as an opportunity to steal money from you. It's sick. They will only let you talk to a person on the phone once a month. As it turns out the person they let you speak to for legal advice is not even a lawyer. They are supposed to provide a demand letter. They won't do that. They are supposed to review documents. They won't do it. Just look for a lawyer you can afford if you really need one because this service is a complete joke.

    I have been a member of Legal Shield since 2005 (over 15 years). I was an executive director for the company that used Parker Stanbury as their primary law firm. I ran one of 2 business briefings in all of San Diego promoting Legal Shield. I say all that to say I've been here longer than most of the attorneys on staff. I have had very good experiences with Parker Stanbury (provider firm in California) but as soon as Harland Stoncipher passed away (2014) and Legal shield was sold (2018), the customer service has been absolutely horrible. It's not worth the money or the headache. I urge everyone to cancel their membership until Parker Stanbury is fired. I've complained over and over about them and Legal Shield does nothing but apologizes. Legal Shield has become as bad as Parker Stanbury. They quite literally don't care and no remedies ever happen.

    I finally just canceled my membership. I have had issue after issue with Parker Stanbury. They are the most arrogant and uppity law firm I've ever dealt with. Absolutely rude and condescending! I've had attorneys hang up on me. I've had to argue with emotional and irrational attorneys trying to give me their subjective opinion when what I was asking for is what the law actually says. I've had many lazy attorneys I could tell were completely guessing. It goes on and on with how many bad experiences I've had with Parker Stanbury. This is the last law firm I'd trust with anything important. Their work ethic and integrity are questionable at best. They don't care about their clients and treat us like we are bothering them (as you can tell by many of the reviews they receive).

    I have been a LegalShield client for over 5 years. In the past I have not had any issues with attorneys calling me back within 24 hours. I had to have them make a change in my will that I had them do. Who is a minor change of the name of a beneficiary on one page of 1 document. Literally less than five minutes' worth of work. I have had to call them three times over the past week after not receiving any response whatsoever from them. This is totally unacceptable in a digital age. I am going to cancel my service with them and go with one of their competitors. I recommend that you DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, AND look at alternatives to LegalShield.

    Big scam. They employ 5th rate lawyers that can’t pull their pull their weight and are useless. They can’t write a simple letter and do nothing but refer you to a private lawyer after giving you useless advice.     They often don't have answers to your questions, so they refer you to outside lawyers, that do not give free legal advice, despite telling your plan will still be honored. Many of the lawyers are lazy, and will do anything to avoid answering your questions, or doing the hour of research. (Keep in mind, an hour of research by a lawyer, is worth a lot more than an hour of research by a layman, because they're already supposed to have some idea of what they're doing.)

    I've also had lawyers give me conflicting advice. For example, I was kicked out of a restaurant for having a service dog. I recorded the incident. Police threatened to arrest me, despite the fact that I was recording in a public place. I called for advice on the recording, separately from calling for advice on the service dog. The lawyer for the recording said it was perfectly legal (though he was unable to state the statue or case law to back it up). The lawyer for the service dog incident told me my recording was illegal. I had to explain one their other lawyers had already told me my recording was legit. Note, I now have the statute and case law proving it's legal to record someone in a public place, though, no thanks to LegalShield. You'd be surprised how many of their attorneys have given me outright false advice just because they're incompetent or lazy.

    In another instance, they asked me how many pages one of my documents was, before I sent it. After hearing it was 18 pages, they refused to review it, because that placed it three pages over the 15 page limit. I was annoyed, but I didn't argue the matter, because the lawyer was technically right. Where he crossed the line was in asking me to give him a five star review, after just telling me he wasn't going to do anything for me. Good customer service isn't nitpicking at the trivial. It would have taken him, maybe, a full extra minute to review the extra three pages.

    I also had court matter I paid for using the 25% discount. At the time I paid, I was told my fee covered the case itself. Before my first court date, the original lawyer had left the firm, so they simply swapped in a new one to argue the previous one's motions. The whole point of paying for a lawyer is that you have someone dedicated to your case. Further, the new lawyer told me the $1,150 I paid only covered the one motion, despite me being told that was total for the case. That's a lot of money from someone subsisting off a disability check. So not only have these people never helped me, they used me.

    I joined this company to get simple legal advice for a monthly fee. When I contacted them, they would assign a junior associate or similar to me and the information provided is no better than Google. After repeated failures on their part, I decided to cancel and have been charged 6 times in 2 months after they confirmed my cancellation. Every time I call and spend 2 hours of my valuable time, I keep getting the run around and they ask for this and that which I already provided in writing which they confirmed receipt claiming it would be processed in 24-48 hours. Their customer service is simply a Ponzi scheme sales team that tries to keep you hooked and use tactics like delays and other new requirements. Beware of joining such an organization especially looking for legal advice which is basic and rudimentary you could get for free from any student.

Don't waste your time with them. They have never been the same when they used to be prepaid legal. LegalShield s*cks. If I could give them zero stars I would.     $40.00/month for legal services sounds great, right? Absolutely!... if it's true. I used this service for 12 months. The quality of work by the attorneys was absolutely awful. Your membership is supposed to include one hour of research time on top of free consultations. It's supposed to also include the review of documents less than 15 pages for free.

    Here's what you actually get: 1) 90% of the consultation time is spent listening to a legal licensee constantly plug why you need an attorney and why you need to pay thousands of dollars for more "discounted services", which are not discounted at all compared with fair market value. 2) When you ask legal questions, you're constantly told that the questions are not specific enough and, therefore, will require an hourly rate for "researching". 3) The review service is terrible. A few chicken-scratch notes with absolutely no suggestions on how to better a contract.

    If you're looking for legal advice for your business, I recommend this. 1) Follow the 10 commandments and BE GOOD TO PEOPLE. This solves 99% of your potential legal issues. 2) Read the state and local laws governing your business. 3) Set up the business with asset protections. If you get into legal trouble with the business and cannot settle for a reasonable amount, bankrupt the business and start over. Keep in mind this fact, even a bad attorney charges an average of about $300.00 per hour. Small claims court caps are usually $10,000.00 or less. THAT CAP IS LESS THAN 40 BILLABLE HOURS, a mere one week of work.

    Got a lawyer for a speeding ticket. They did nothing to help. I don’t think they even bothered. On top of it the lawyer was out of state. I thought these were supposed to be local lawyers? It was so disappointing and too late to hire a local attorney. I have never experienced having a lawyer in a speeding ticket case not be able to help someone. If lawyers can get off wife beaters and murderers you’re telling me you can’t help someone with a speeding ticket?! Trash. Pure trash.

    When you need their legal services, they will send you to a law office near you for consultation. If you get into an agreement with LegalShield and wish to terminate your contract, make sure you write down the day, time and name of the agent you spoke to, and also make sure to send an email to support@legalshieldcorp.com. Then, have them acknowledge it. Otherwise they will keep charging you and if you complain they send you to the small letter of the agreement. Good Luck.

    I signed up for service and never heard from them. I called them once and they said "there's been a complication and we need more time to process your application". Then I still did not hear from them and called again and they said "your application was denied and unfortunately we will not be refunding your membership charge." I said "then why am I not getting service?" They said "That's company option". I said "Then why am I not getting refunded?" They said "Company option". I said "I don't understand, what does that even mean?" They just repeated, "Company option." It was very strange, and certainly not right. I had to call my bank to file a dispute and seek out other legal services. Don't waste your time or money on these scammers!

    I bought this rider, and now that I need to use it, find that Legal Shield will not cover any lawsuit that comes against you that cites incidents that occurred before you bought the insurance. Since most lawsuits do occur about past issues, which sometimes happened years earlier, don't count on getting any use out of this insurance rider for a long, long time. It is a ripoff. The lawsuit against me was filed on 11/4/2020, about 4 or 5 months after I purchased the insurance. So I thought I was covered. But the incident that I am being sued about happened in 2018. So Legal Shield has a very sketchy, at least in my opinion, out. To say I am unhappy is an understatement. What a crock!

    I contacted LegalShield over 3 months ago for Legal assistance with a breach of trust, where the Successor Trustee to my aunt & uncle’s California estate is not performing duties he is responsible for. Because Glantzlaw is in Florida, they had to refer me to a California Attorney. Apparently giving Glantz very brief info is considered my “consultation” where advice from the California attorney will be $300/hr, although being outside the county my aunt & uncle lived in, he cannot represent me.

    My written contract with LegalShield regrading out-of-state matters states: “Provider Attorney will secure and pay for the services of attorney in the jurisdiction where the problem arises”. This is a lie. The contract also states I am entitled to “telephone consultations on unlimited legal matters” and “provider attorney will provide up to 1 hour of legal research at no charge if my legal matter cannot be adequately addressed”. This is another lie.

    Glantzlaw also wants to charge to review the trust, which I am not contesting. There has been no personal discussion outside of an intake call. It’s apparent they have no interest in my legal matter, only in collecting what money they can. I have wasted $25/month for 5 years on a LegalShield membership. An atty referral service can get me a free consultation and half the hourly rate for additional work. While LegalShield’s contract looks great, I have received nothing that even comes close to what it promises.

    I signed up for LegalShield while I was dealing with a wrongful termination. I was at the end of my 90 day window to file a lawsuit and did not have an attorney.

    I decided to file my own lawsuit and as I signed up for LegalShield I asked if they would act as consultant for questions I have as I walk my own case through the courts. I was told yes, I signed up. First question I asked was when I file the complaint do I need to include the elements of the statute violated so I don't get a failure to state a claim dismissal. The attorney was nice, personable and said put everything in, leave nothing out, and if I get a dismissal for failure to state a claim to just ask to amend the complaint.

    I call again and ask, if I work in a state, the boss is in another state, the corporate office is in another state, which federal court do I file the lawsuit, is it the one for the city of the office where I worked? If I file in the wrong court and my 90 days expire, will I have lost the right to sue? The attorney said, "You must file in the right court and if you file in the wrong court and find out after the time expires you can't file again," but he couldn't tell me whether the right court is the location of the office I worked in when the discrimination took place.

    I got a survey and filled it out stating it appears I need to know more legal things in order to speak with the attorney where I thought I could get consultation. The survey got attention and I consented to the survey results being shared with the law firm. I spoke with the law firm and was told that since I started the legal action the attorney can choose whether he is comfortable answering my questions. I said, the first question was stating a claim, it should have been easy to say I must include the information that would cover all of the elements. (It's really a cause of action and all causes of action have elements that must be stated and proven to win a case, if one element of a cause is not stated the complaint can be defective and fail to state a claim for which relief can be granted...amending it would mean fixing that defect or the amended complaint would still be defective and the lawsuit would be dismissed). Any attorney can answer that question.

    Anyone hired to look on the internet for answers would have to know to look up "causes of actions" and I didn't use those words. The second question was a jurisdiction question and any attorney would know that as well. It seems the law firm does not have attorneys but maybe people who want to be paralegal or someone who is hired to do research on the internet. I was dissatisfied and told the law firm they are not what I need. I was told since I have the service to let them do my will. I don't need a will and I decided to cancel the service. No one from LegalShield contacted me after the call with the law firm. LegalShield says all calls are recorded but I am uncertain if calls from law firms to me are recorded.

    I told the law firm, the problem I have with an attorney choosing to not answer a question is like me asking a question about a rule of court and an attorney stating that since I started a legal action without them, they can't answer the question about what a particular rule is stating. I said, court rules have nothing to do with interfering with the case. I said I should not have said I'd start my own action, as I believe the question would have been treated the same. I don't believe I was speaking with an attorney. I do believe the law firm exists. It's probably a shell for legal services and doesn't have lawyers. I didn't vet the people I spoke with; to find out their legal experience. I took for granted they were lawyers because they worked for LegalShield.

    My personal opinion is they are not lawyers or if they are, they are fresh out of law school with no private practice and they are learning law from out questions or they have a template they can use for repetitive legal issues like traffic tickets, wills, divorces, disputes. District Court had a Title VII complaint I filled out for the lawsuit, because I contacted the EEOC and got the required right to sue letter, before trying to sue the employer in federal court. I had LegalShield for a week. How long must you have a service to realize it is not useful to you? How many questions that are unanswered or answered below your expectations before you realize a service is not for you? Is it a requirement that I give LegalShield a chance to be the legal service I need? Is it a requirement that I decide based on experience whether I have what I purchased?

    The website states things I thought was part of the offer, that I did not receive and things I didn't need that were listed as services available. I would hate to have paid for years only to find out the assigned law firm can't help me with my legal needs. You have an account to log into,, but you can't modify the information..your credit card remains and cannot be edited. There is no cancel service option nor is there a FAQ for how to cancel. I had to locate "contact us" and email a cancel request. It is questionable that the site doesn't inform you of how to cancel the service. Every service I use, auto, email, cell, storage, subscription, bank account, etc...has a how to cancel link or FAQ. LegalShield, a legal service, does not provide the legal details of how to cancel the legal services and that is not oversight, it is intentional.

    Why do I saw this? Because people cancel the service and they know they don't have the information online so we are canceling by calling them or emailing them and most of us are probably telling them we could not find out how to cancel the service when we logged into the LegalShield account, so we called or emailed to ask them to do it. I would not recommend the service and I have no idea the quality of the wills that are produced by the lawyers, but it may be some default format and hopefully no one has issues with things not stated that should have been included. A one size fits some legal service, is my experience. I learned more from Larry ** Jurisdictionary course and that's how I knew legal things to know I was not getting the legal assistance I thought I was purchasing.

    Their customer service rep Sarah said she would call me back the same day, on Sep 30, 2020, but she never did. The other staff on Oct 2, 2020 took my registration info, including credit card information, but failed to sign me up, failed to email me receipt and registration information. The supervisor who knew their staffs making mistakes said Legal Shield will not offer any discount for any circumstances, which is very disappointing. In my opinion, a company who does not pay the cost of its mistake is not really a responsible company.

    Every single time I called my law firm I was told that my question wasn’t covered and they couldn’t help me. Sometimes they referred me out to non-LegalShield firms, one of whom was appallingly rude to me and the other one appeared to be intoxicated.     I had a membership for all of an hour, realized it was useless (no pre-existing issues are covered which is conveniently not mentioned anywhere during signup) and IMMEDIATELY cancelled. I called to confirm that I'd get a full refund which the company said I would but that it could take up to 15 business days (an absurd amount of time as it takes a fraction of a second for the money to leave my bank account to them). After 15 business days I called, it took some time to confirm that I was even due a refund and I was told "We're working on it and that it can take up to 60 days." When I said I was told it can take UP TO 15 business days I was told, "Well it usually does but it can take longer, I have no guess when it will be processed." What a disgusting company to make someone jump through hoops and wait months to get a refund for a service they never used.

The attorney provided very little help, most of her replies were, "I'm not allowed to answer that question, or help you with the process." What good is paying for a service, that gives you zero help?     My experience with LS over the past year and a half is disappointing. I have been using them for help with dealing with my landlord stealing from me through deception. Every time I call I wait for hours for a call back. The call is from a different lawyer every time, never once have they even familiarized themselves with the files and had no idea of the specifics of the case. I spend 20 - 30 minutes bringing them up to speed and they then tell me how the previous lawyer who directed me was wrong, and then they confuse the issue by telling me how they would have done it. I have spoken to at least 4 LS lawyers on this, one seemed competent but gave me terrible advice which has forced me to start a small claims case from scratch. The others were condescending, rude and demeaning of their own colleagues.

    The one time I needed actual small claims help for court they wanted a huge retainer, from another lawyer that had not even bothered to look at the 6 month long records. I've been in business for myself for 28 years and have had dealing with multitudes of lawyers. Unless it is simple document review you will be wasting your money and time with this service.

    My family and I have been customers LegalShield for more than five years. We had a legal issue. First, calling to speak with someone at LegalShield is unacceptable. The hold time takes forever. Then I had to argue with the representative as he accused me of not having an account. Calling back to speak to someone knowledgeable took 45mins. Next, we left a message for an attorney to call back. The initial attorney told us what we needed to do, and how much the retainer is ($3200) but another attorney would call us back in three days to discuss things further. When the attorney called on the third day my phone rang once. When I tried to call back. I couldn't get anyone on the phone. We ended up locating a 5 Star Attorney, with a cheaper retainer fee, and immediate callback. So disappointed in LegalShield.

    My experience with LegalShield was not how I expected it to be nor how they say it is. Legalshield claims they come with "coverage" with their service when in reality they are no help at all. Every time I had a ticket I needed to be looked at, it was always a "we don't cover that type of violation" and every time they did decide to help me the attorney they assigned to my cases, would always end up providing no assistance at all. If it wasn't one thing it was another. Now that I decided to leave Legalshield service I am having problems with half of my driver's tickets. They can't help because "my account is not active". I do not recommend this service at all.

    On one occasion I had co-signed for a Credit Card for my God Child and her husband's business. We had a falling out and they started to use the business credit card to buy personal items including a $17,000 truck for the husband to drive around in after he crashed the business truck. They stopped paying the Credit card bill and at $28,000.00 it went into default and they came after me. I called my LegalShield law firm Merritt Webb in South Carolina and after explaining everything they wrote a letter to the credit card company stating I would be happy to pay them back after they sent me all the signed receipts that had been charged on the account. I

    had never made a single purchase with this car only purchases made had been either my God child or her husband. Since the letter was received I have heard nothing from the credit card company and have not had any negative reports filed on my credit report. Getting my LegalShield lawyer involved got me out of a $28,000 debt that wasn't mine. Thank you Merritt Webb and LegalShield all for $19.95 a month.

    I just got Legal Shield and the lawyer I got was extremely rude and demeaning. Her first name was Susan, but she refused to give me her whole name, so clearly she was afraid of what I might say online about her. I called the service back and found out her name was Susan ** and she worked out of Parker Stanbury in Los Angeles, CA. She talked over me, wouldn't listen, made a lot of assumptions that were way off base and kept trying to hang up before I could make my needs known. Because she was such a bad listener, I ended up repeating myself a few times and still didn't get myself understood or the answers I needed before she hung up. She even said she didn't give a damn about my case. Incredibly unprofessional and over the top rude. The whole experience was less then 5 minutes and would have been shorter if I didn't keep insisting she answer my questions. From reading the reviews, I am not alone in my experience with Legal Shield.

    We recently found out that we had over-paid on our property taxes and, when we called the L.A. County Tax Collectors office, they looked up our file and agreed that we had overpaid. However, because we didn't bring it to their attention within a specific time period, they told us that we lost our right to a refund. BASICALLY, THEY SAID THAT IT WAS OUR MONEY, BUT ON A TECHNICALITY, THEY WERE KEEPING IT! Talk about frustrating!!!

    So we called our LegalShield provider law firm and they promptly assigned a real estate attorney to assist us. After consulting with him, he wrote a scary demand letter to the tax collectors office which gave the appearance that we had hired, AT GREAT EXPENSE, one of the biggest, baddest law firms in the state to get justice. (And we didn't even have to pay for the stamp that went on the envelope!!) A few weeks later, we received in the mail a check from the county for over $3,900!     Initially I was signed up as an associate, and quickly decided I did not want to be an associate. The person who signed me up failed to inform me that there was a recurring charge for the associate webpage that is created when you sign up as an associate. I was also pressured to sign up for ID shield after I informed them that I did not want that service. Cancellation of anything with this company is very difficult. So before you sign up for ANYTHING through LegalShield, or their affiliate subscriptions, make sure you know what you’re getting into!

    I am absolutely disgusted with LegalShield and their flagrant misrepresentation of the services they provide. My assigned Law Firm (DSK Law) treated me like I was a substandard human being and the Attorney who contacted me was the most unprofessional and belligerent person I have ever had contact within a professional setting. Nothing even comes close to how incredibly disrespectful this individual was towards me, and she even went as far as to start mocking me and shaming me after she learned that I am a disabled veteran of the United States Marine Corps. I was in complete disbelief that this person has an active license to practice law in the state of Florida. Additionally, there is very little doubt in my mind that the attorney was on some type of ** by the way. She was talking in a hyperactive state along with her incoherent rants about how I am not a priority because I am a member of LegalShield.

    I cannot recommend enough that LegalShield completely cut ties with this Law Group as they are not only bad for business, but they are also a huge liability as well. I attempted to contact the CEO of LegalShield but I was not given any phone number or email address when I asked for this information to share with Mr. Bell. I was committed to becoming a lifetime member of LegalShield because I had a very good friend who once worked for them before he passed away and he always had nothing but excellent things to say about working for them. If he were here today, I know that she would feel the exact same way that I do. To display my confidence with how committed I was to LegalShield and the services that they market, I paid for an entire year in advance with the expectation that I had legal representation ready at a moment's notice if I were to need it.

    As if this weren't bad enough, I am now being denied a refund for two products and services not rendered by Legal Shield. DSK Law out of Brooksville, FL, is the absolute worst Law Firm that I have ever experienced In my entire life. If Mr. Bell really cares as much as he says he does for his customers, he needs to contact me directly so he knows what is happening in the field and not what he knows sitting behind his desk looking at a computer screen.

    I challenge Mr. Bell to step out of his comfort zone and actually speak to me and learn how horrible of an experience and the treatment I was rendered, especially how I was mocked for being a disabled veteran of the United States Marine Corps. I am already in touch with the Florida Bar, and they are currently investigating exactly what happened, along with investigating LegalShield for providing legal services that are grossly misrepresented and then refusing to issue a refund of an entire year paid in advance by me because I have canceled.     I have been a customer for a long time. Probably over 15 years. They were originally prepaid legal services. The provider firms do everything they can to not give you free legal advise. 3 times I was told the legal issue "wasn't really mine" even though I felt it was mine. At least 3 times they told me there was a conflict of interest and they sent me to another attorney who is useless. I've only even been able to get my provider firm to handle my will. The final straw was the complete incompetence on the part of the Firm they sent me to because of the conflict the provider firm claimed to have. In my opinion there was no conflict. They always have an excuse and this time they lost me money. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. I have cancelled my membership.

    After being a member for a couple of years I contacted Legal Shield to file a non contested divorce. The lawyer told me to fill out papers that you could find online and then send them the filled in paper work along with $350. I asked what the $350.00 was for he said “Filling fees”. After having to do my own legal work I called the court house. They said I just need to bring the papers in and it would cost me $225.00 to file for the divorce. It would cost $50.00 to have papers served if I needed that service. So all this time of paying for legal services they tell me to do it myself and send them more money than it should cost. What a rip off. I just hope they will refund my payment that’s due.

    I bought a Groupon for window washing in the Fall. On the day of my appointment, it was raining and the window washing company called to tell me they couldn't clean my windows because it was raining. I said, "no problem, I'll make another appointment". The guy said, "Sorry Ma'am. We aren't taking appointments until Spring," I said okay, that's fine.

    I started calling to make an appointment in March because it takes several months to get an appointment. I called both the business and cell numbers and left voice mails. I had recently joined LegalShield and decided to see if it really worked. I called my law firm to complain that I hadn't been called back for an appointment and that I thought that the window washing company was going to keep my money. The Attorney had me send him the Groupon and contact information about the window washing company.

    I received my letter from the Attorney, it was very firm and professional; I was very pleased. About an hour later the window washing company called because they had just received their letter. The owner was upset and apologizing for not calling me back. He said they hadn't been opened until 2 weeks ago. I asked, "why didn't you call me in the 2 weeks you were opened? I had left several voicemails and got nobody called back." He just kept apologizing and gave me an appointment. The owner himself came to wash my windows and was extremely nice and washed doors as well. I don't believe that I would have gotten serviced if it hadn't been for my LegalShield plan.     I am very disappointed with this company. After speaking with an attorney I found that she could NOT answer any of my questions. She claimed she would not be able to file paperwork on my behalf like they state. Also, she wouldn’t make phone calls regarding legal matters on my behalF. No legal help whatsoever. It's pretty clear that her main focus was just getting rid of me. I don't even know what I was paying for! Even trying to cancel the subscription is nearly impossible. I was told I would receive 3 separate refunds for one purchase, which makes no sense at all. I had to demand to speak with a supervisor after getting the runaround for 30 minutes. Time wasted and unnecessary stress to say the least! In the amount of time wasted on them I could of done all of this myself at no charge. I am completely dissatisfied! BEWARE, SCAM SCAM SCAM!

    I had a Home that was up for sale for six months and no one was living in it. The utilities company continue to charge me even though no one was living in the home to ramp up the usage. The bill was over $600. I called in and I was told that there was nothing that they could do and now I was being forced to pay $682. I called my LegalShield attorneys, they wrote a letter to the utilities company on my behalf. Two weeks later I got a phone call from the utilities company and they completely Eliminated the $682 bill. Absolutely awesome service!

    This company has saved me thousands. Most recently I used the service because my internet company was charging me for an installation that never took place. The installation fee was only $50 dollars but I wasn’t going to pay for something that I didn’t receive. I called the company and they told me their technician said he installed new equipment so I had to pay. After being called a liar by the internet company I called LegalShield. They contacted the internet company and within two weeks the legal department of the internet company called me to apologize and inform me the 50 dollar installation fee was removed.

    Two Powerful Attorney Letter Testimonies:

    Attorney Letter #1 - On a trip back home from Las Vegas, Delta airlines damaged my wife’s luggage (numerous tears & and a missing wheel) and broke my wife’s blowdryer. When we spoke to Delta customer service, they said their policy is not to replace damaged baggage. We had our provider law firm draft an attorney letter and faxed it to Delta Airlines’ legal counsel. Within a week, we received two separate checks in the mail: one for $50 for my wife’s broken blowdryer and another for $75 to replace my wife’s damaged luggage.

    We live in Fort Worth, TX and also have a house in Winston Salem, NC, At the time we did not have a tenant but I went there to keep the grass cut. In August 2019 AT&T cleared a huge pathway for some big trucks to get to a line. They pulled up our gate and tore up our grass. I found out when our son went to cut the grass and called me. I spoke to AT&T they said they would put everything back, they did not. I called LegalShield, sent them the letter AT&T mailed me and LegalShield advised me what to do and wrote a letter. In 3 days after telling the supervisor what my Law Firm told me to say they had a crew putting my fence up with poured concrete to hold the poles of the fence and replanted our grass. They even cleared the area in front near the spot they were in. I am so glad to have my law firms.

    Soooo much peace of mind comes with having a LegalShield membership. Just last week I was able to call in to ask a question in reference to an insurance situation AND send in some documents to be reviewed to ensure that everything was within my best interest before signing. Before having LegalShield I would have stressed over the insurance situation, spent hours on Google researching, I would have proceeded or I wouldn't have (but either way, I would have done so reluctantly and assuredly) and I would have signed the document without fully understanding it?

    Without LegalShield, these 2 occurrences that happened in 1 week would have cost me hundreds and hundreds of dollars and more stress than I like to carry!     I had an issue with AT&T not fulfilling their agreement to pay my Sprint final bill due to an error made by a representative. I contacted my law firm, and was asked to send a copy of both bills.     I've used my LegalShield membership for over a decade. Most recently I had internet installed in my home. It went in and out, so they sent multiple technician visits and it never worked properly. When I cancelled the internet, they sent me a $300+ early termination bill that I refused to pay. They then sent me to a debt collection company who threatened to put it on my credit. I called my law firm and they wrote a cease and desist letter to the debt collection company, who then wrote my law firm a letter back letting them know that I didn't owe anything and nothing negative would be reported on my credit report!

    We had a problem getting a large home alarm company to fix an issue. They promised to fix the issue each time we called, and 6 months later NO results, but they kept drafting our checking account the $20 a month. Most of us would not call an attorney for $120 situation, we used LegalShield. The attorney wrote a letter to the alarm company on our behalf and we received a full refund, plus they gave us the next 6 months free and released us from the monthly auto draft and we pay them monthly when we receive the bill. I found the service very easy to use and I was very pleased with the outcome.

    I Live in NC and while I was in Atlanta GA I was caught in a speed trap. I had 2 citations and was looking at a $375+ fine. I went back to NC and sent my tickets to my Law Firm. They passed it on to my Law Firm in GA. The Attorney let me know they were going to court for me and I didn't need to be present. After the court date, my Attorney called me back to let me know they were able to get all the charges dropped and the case was closed.     This service is incredible. I had an issue with a credit card company that was overbilling me $7.95 a month for 2 years. After many unsuccessful attempts with customer service, I called LegalShield. My attorney wrote a dispute letter on my behalf. A week later I received an apology letter from the credit card company, they refunded me $171 and never billed me $7.95 again. I love this service!

    I have owned a legal clinic for 40 years and I was a member of Prepaid Legal for many years and if I had a quick question, I could get very good service from them; however, several years ago Iost contact with them. On the internet a few weeks ago, I came across Legal Shield and gave them a call. When I inquired if they were familiar with Prepaid Legal, they indicated they were one and the same company but just changed their name! NOT. I called them one time after I joined and a gentleman got on the phone and although he barely allowed me five minutes to ask a question, he rudely said I had no case but to send him a document regarding same. I know I have an excellent case and it was obvious to me that this was a scam. Fortunately, I never paid my membership fee. Although I am familiar with the corruption in the legal system, many people are not. I will make appropriate complaints as necessary. CAUTION!

    All a sudden, I receive a letter from someone names Lori **, she claims that she from the membership service and information that my membership is cancelled by Legal Shield, without reason. I contact the membership services numerous times in good faith and try to reinstate my membership. The membership department refuses to reinstate the membership. I am not happy with Legal Shield to breach the consumer contract by cancelling a contract without a valid reason. It is unreasonable and unlawful.

    Legal Shield flat out lied about the service they supposedly provide. It clearly states in my contract they will provide 75 hours of trial time and 25 hours of pre-trial time, however when I needed to represent my wife due to a traffic ticket from an accident she was involved in, the law firm we were assigned to only offered their "discounted" fee of 1200 dollars and nothing else, legal shield is nothing but a fraudulent hook, 35 dollars a month for legal representation sounded too good to be true. Well maybe because it just simply doesn't exists, they're nothing but a middle man that connects naive people with shark attorneys looking to make a buck out of desperate folks, don't fall for it!

As stated in the membership contracts, The Trial Defense benefit (as well as the Trial Defense Supplement add-on) can only be used "If you or your spouse is a named defendant in a civil suit." Your membership does have a Motor Vehicle benefit as well that can provide assistance for matters such as the one you are experiencing. Depending on the matter, your Provider law firm would make the final judgment, in their professional opinion, if the service can be fully covered or covered at the Preferred Member Discount.     About half the attorneys are very rude. They do not fill our or help you fill out paperwork like they state, they do not make phone calls for you. Every other attorney has a different opinion. They caused me more stress than help. Almost a month later and I am still no closer than I was before the attempting to get their help. I felt it was very unprofessional most of the time and extremely stressful. I am completely dissatisfied! Hopefully there's someone they can help but it was definitely not me and it is not at all what was described to me prior to obtaining the service. Even trying to cancel it is nearly impossible. I simply am completely dissatisfied.

    I paid for the service for 1 year before actually using it. I ended up calling in to ask about a lease issue. The lawyer I talked to was condescending and passive aggressive; he kept asking what legal question I had even though I'd already explained, and he immediately assumed that I was in the wrong and there was nothing he could do to help. It's pretty clear that his main focus was to just get rid of me. I don't know what I was paying for and I'm glad I'm not paying anymore.

    I've been a customer about 20 years. I make automatic payments monthly.... Gave them thousands! Their service has plummeted to an all-time low! Attorneys do not follow company policy. The attorneys are outright unprofessional and disrespectful, especially from Davis Miles law firm in Arizona. The nail in the coffin was when the lawyer outright refused to make minor changes in a letter to KIA, actually left a nasty voicemail saying take it or leave it and he doesnt pander to customer demands, and refusing to let me speak to the Supervising attorney to resolve the matter!     I’ve been a member for over 15 years. I’m the customer that they should love. I pay on time, I don’t have an issue with my credit card and I don’t ask for many services (6-7 over the 15+ years). I like to know that If I get in trouble, I have a safety net. The current need is living trust information due to some conflicting statements in a poorly written trust.

    On Jan 15th I reached out at 2:44pm and never received a call back...perhaps because they had the wrong # in their system. Ok...I get that, although they asked and I gave them a good phone number to reach me. Friday, Jan 17, 2020, I called at 9:20 am with a promise of a 4 hour window call back. I didn’t receive a call until 1:43pm and After that 4 hour window, I was unavailable. On the 21st, I called at 1:13pm and received no callback.

    Here we are...on the 22nd, I called again (at 3:11pm) with the promise that the attorney would get back to me right after they get off of the phone. It’s 5:30pm...To no avail. Never mind that I was on hold 20 minutes almost each time I called. They also said they were “changing systems” which was the poor customer service excuse. I’m super frustrated and disappointed.

    I was offer this benefit package through my job & I'm going to HR to get this plan removed. But this company is a waste a time. It's scary how you explain your issue of what's going on & also submit documents to back up your statement & these people are clueless because all these time they are telling me I have 20 days to answer & if I did not work quickly I would have gotten a default judgment due to this company. I have a summons that I needed to answer within 5 day on on the 5th day I was still getting the run around talking about I'm still trying to reach out to a lawyer to take your case. I just got so mad that I told them to forget about I will pay my money to get this lawyer to do their job because obviously, LegalShield don't want to even though they are getting paid.

    Legalshield stole my card information and charged me for 3 months after I told them to cancel my service. If you want to be at the back and call off lawyers that get mad if you call them and want to you wait around at their convenience to call you, then this is the service for you. If you want your lawyer to call you on a blocked number, this is the service for you. If you don't really want a lawyer but want someone to let you know, who is not a lawyer, what service you may or may not need, this is the company for you! Stay away from this company. They will steal from you and say it's your fault. Good luck!

    I am extremely disappointed with LegalShield. A friend of mine who knew I was dealing with some issues with my ex who broke into my home, stole 80% of my apartment contents, and caused an array of other issues suggested I contact someone “who will be able to help you.” I met with the individual who was very kind, and I trusted her and because I trusted her, I felt that LegalShield was the solution to all of my issues. I brought forth each issue to the local law office (which is over an hour away from my home and I currently do not drive) and each lawyer who called about my various issues basically were not able to intervene for various reasons and advised me that I could hire a lawyer with a 25% discount. I was also advised that I would be able to have a “free will” written, which was the first fee that I was unaware of, as they advised me that I would need to pay $56 plus tax for a witness to sign my will with me locally.

    Due to the issues with my ex and workplace back injury, my financial situation is dire, and I unfortunately can not afford all of these extra costs which I initially was not advised of. I also was not advised that I would have to pay a monthly Associate fee, which I know with some pyramid schemes, that is part of it. The individual made it sound like it would cost $99 and then I could sell and “help” others by signing them up.

    I was pressured into signing up so I could get a bonus (also meaning they could receive a bonus), and I had to advise this individual on a couple occasions that I cannot get people to sign up that quickly, because I also needed to try out LegalShield first, to ensure I’m selling something that will actually end up helping other individuals. From abrasive phone calls with various lawyers at the local law office, to receiving poor legal advice that detrimentally affected my injury claim, to lawyers who clearly did not review the documentation I provided (as they would suggest I acquire certain documentation and I would reply that it was already within the medical documentation I gave them); To advising me that they would write a letter to the pawnshop to attempt to obtain my stolen property to then being told that they can not interfere if the police are investigating etc. It was just poor interactions all around.

    I would just hang up the phone with them following a conversation and then they would email me 5 minutes later addressing me by the incorrect gender. It was very disappointing to say the least and during my last interaction with them, I asked the lawyer “what issues do you cover exactly because I have brought forth several and was advised that you cannot interfere for various reasons and that I would need to pay a lawyer to represent me (with a 25% discount)." He replied “I’d you're having issues with a debt collector or if you are having issues with construction if you’re building something.” These issues are not issues I need assistance with and my money has been better spent going to a lawyer who has a non contingency plan versus prepay for legal services that I cannot utilize.

    I have written an email requesting a refund as I was not even advised that I would have to pay for business cards (I was told the first order was free of charge) and again to say I am disappointed is an understatement. The company has replied several days following my request (the first request was not even acknowledged) stating they have now cancelled my Associate membership but again did not acknowledge my request for refund which I made even before they withdrew the $99 plus taxes CAD out of my bank account.

    This is clearly a pyramid scheme (higher associates benefit by selling Legalshield when their associates sell etc) and I am disappointed for getting involved in this scheme. I am glad I did not sign up others so they could face the same repercussions as I had a feeling in my gut the kind of company I was dealing with and it turns out I was sadly correct. I am still asking for a full refund and will be lodging a formal complaint with the BBB as Legalshield continues to fail to acknowledge my 4 requests for a refund. Buyer Beware!

    Very disappointed with this company. Didnt get any legal help at all. The law company that was assign to me didn't help at all. Not receiving any help, I signed up for JustAnswer and in few days I received all help and answers I was need. It just for $5.00 a week trial. To cancel membership with Legal Shield is really Bias, they said they never received my email to cancel membership and charged to my account. When I made a phone call to them they told me to resend an email and my refund will be issued. Well, after resending an email they did cancel membership, but never issued a refund. They just keep saying they will issue refund but at the end they decided not to. Scam company stay away.

    Been a Legal Shield member for about 20 years. One of their so called benefits is legal representation in case the member is being sued. There is an exception to this 'benefit' stating that suits resulting from business transactions are not covered. Last year a former tenant of mine sued me for her security deposit. I turned to legal shield for representation as per the service contract. They denied my request stating that this suit involved a business - they consider me as running a business when I am renting a room. I tried to persuade them that it was not a business (I am not incorporated, nor LLC nor partnership nor sole proprietor) to no avail. I ended cancelling my subscription.

    First and foremost, I had spoken with two law clerks from that particular law firm. I get two different stories. One tells me that they didn’t receive my email, the other tells me that my email is in a hub. The second law clerk tells me that we changed our email. Both law clerks tried telling me that the email I gave them isn’t their email after I told them I had the email in front of me. It tells me where the email came from where it says “From.” After I get off the phone, I noticed that someone had read the email. That would mean that the second law clerk was lying about it being the wrong email. So I called back and spoke with Abraham. He agreed that it didn’t sound right as far as me being told that they changed their email.

    I told him that it didn’t make sense for them to change an email within a few days. He told me that he was going to pass along my concerns to upper management. So then I get off the phone and see an email from the law firm. It was from the same email that I shared with them. The only reason why the second clerk responded was that I told her that I was going to file a complaint on her. I called Abraham back and told him that someone had sent me an email. He was going to let someone know about it. I look at my voicemail and see that Jeff had called me. He had told me that he works for corporate and that he would help me out.

    I call back and get someone else, it happens to be his supervisor. So Debbie keeps going on and on about how it’s LegalShield’s policy as far as it is a phone-based business. She tells me that it would be up to the attorney if he wanted to send me the email, which would include the referral that I had requested. I tell her more than once that he had turned me down last year. She keeps repeating herself by telling me that it’s LegalShield’s policy. I told her that I had already called the 1-800 number, but she expects me to call back and to stress myself out even more. I wasn’t going to deal with those law clerks again. She wasn’t willing to call the law firm to find out if the law firm would be okay with sending me an email. Believe it or not, the same attorney from last year called me. I wasn’t going to waste my time with someone that had already turned me down.

    She claims that I could have spoken with another attorney from the same law firm. I told her that there is a conflict of interest. Abraham even agreed that the whole law firm would be considered a conflict of interest if one attorney didn’t want to help me with my school matter. So I tell Debbie that I wanted to speak with someone else. She tells me that there is no one else to speak to. Just so you know, this person wasn’t even sorry at all for how upset I was. It would have taken a minute of the attorney’s time to send me a referral. She threatened to hang up on me after telling her that I would file a complaint. The bottom line is that they don’t want to be flexible at all. They just expect you to follow their policy if you want to receive services. Since they weren’t willing to ask the attorney about sending me a referral via email, I decided to cancel my membership.

    Bought a pre-owned vehicle this Spring and was promised some repairs that the dealership promised before I took delivery. After delivery and time to get those repairs done the dealership played games with me and refused to make good on a major repair on my list. I made one call to the Law Firm, the attorney wrote a letter on my behalf and the dealership fixed what I couldn't get them to do without this service.

    From my experience, Deming, Parker, etc.... is a law firm full of "lawyers" who do not show concern regarding the client’s issue. My first issue was regarding a debt collection that was not mine and the debt collecting company was suing me. Mr. ** contacted the plaintiff's lawyer (because I asked him to), to ask for some information and proof regarding the lawsuit (which I told him to ask for), but soon after that he told me to settle. He did not look into any laws for me, he put no effort in my case at all. Only because of MY legal work was I able to beat the case and have the lawsuit dismissed.

    While Mr. ** was telling me to settle, I was diligently researching Georgia Debt Collection laws, and found a loophole that would get my case dismissed. I emailed this law to Mr. **, he emailed it to the other attorney, and the next thing I know I received a letter saying the case was dismissed. The only purpose Mr. ** served was to act as a liaison and communicate with the other attorney because I did not want to communicate with her. I had to ask him to do that too; he did not offer.

    My next case was regarding a dependent of mine and I had an "attorney" named Kylie (not sure of the spelling). From the moment she called me about this case, she had an attitude and unconcern oozed from her tone of voice. She talked to me like I was stupid. I feel she would have acted like a jerk no matter what my issue was, but I feel she was even more rude to me because my dependent is incarcerated. She had an air of arrogance to her. At least Mr. ** was nice.

    Kylie is rude and seemed to have no more knowledge regarding prisoner advocacy laws than a law student or a Google Scholar who graduated from the university of Looking Everything Up On Google (which actually helped me more than this law firm, so yay Google). She never offered to refer me to a lawyer who had knowledge of prisoner advocacy laws. I would ask her a question and she would say "well I'm not sure, I don't think you can do this", and then just sit in silence on the phone. That's after condescendingly asking me if I had already contacted the Ombudsman Office, which I did of course. Information about the Ombudsman Unit was the only slightly helpful information she provided in the useless email she sent me.

    While my entire experience at Deming, Parker, and Whatever was EXTREMELY poor, Kylie is the reason why I am cancelling my Legal Shield membership and will be hiring a normal attorney who actually has education on Georgia laws. Legal Shield, I do not know what you pay this law firm in order to be a part of your network, but it is CLEARLY not enough to make them care about their clients, or at least pretend to care. Give Kylie some customer service training. Also, upon being assigned to this law firm you should let new Legal Shield clients know that this law firm can only help with the most basic of issues, like getting a Will, or receiving assistance with a mortgage contract or some other contract. Much of anything else is greatly outside the scope of what this firm is capable of.

    No need to send me an email stating your website notifies clients that if they need more assistance they would have to pay regular attorney fees with a 25% discount. This law firm should still be able to answer basic questions within our normal Legal Shield plan. I did not even ask Kylie to look into anything for me, because I knew she wouldn't. I merely asked her to guide me to the right people or organization that had knowledge of prisoner advocacy laws, and she still refused to do that unless I paid for an attorney.

    I am a member of this legal firm for just about two years and I will say I regret being a member or ever having to pay for membership here. To my understanding as a member you get a legal consultation, a letter if needed for your legal issues, a review of document up to 15 pages, and a 25% discount off attorney referred. I did not get any legal advice over my issues instead the first thing I was told to do was to pay the 25% discounted rate before my case can be reviewed.

    My case was with a school called Ivy Tech. I went in to apply for a grant called NEXT-LEVEL grants which had a process of applying for Financial aid first and then you get to qualify for the grant without a degree. Which was my case as I was trying to go in for my first degree. The verification process was prolonged and denied and I was charged for a course I was taking which was not completed over $2000 by withholding my State taxes. I have gone through all process and needed a lawyer to at-least view my doc. to see that all my papers were complete, but I never got any help form this organization. I was instead told by the lawyer to order tax document and take it to the school myself.

    I called the office to complain about not even having the lawyers viewing my doc. Why am I now having to pay first before the lawyers can see my doc. It's a shame that I have paid money for two years and still cannot get any assistance before paying more. Never will I recommend this company to my worst enemy. STAY AWAY THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!!!

    My wife worked for a company that required her to have a cell phone for the job. They agreed to reimburse her $50/month for using her phone with the requirement that she submit her bill from the carrier every month which we did. She worked there for 3+ years. Toward the end of year 2 the company announced they were being acquired by another much larger company. The transition happened in January, and they continued the requirement for cell phones, and she continued to submit her bill every month. The reimbursements stopped coming in March.

    In October my wife gave noticed she was retiring and reminded her superiors again; she has not received her cell phone reimbursements since March. She was told again that it would be taken care of. This conversation about the outstanding payments happened 2 more times before she finally retired and twice more after she was gone, with the same inaction on their part. Then we called LegalShield. They wrote a letter on her behalf which resulted in a check to my wife for $350. This was the result of one phone to our law firm, and they did not charge for or take anything from the recovery. This recovery paid for almost 2 years of our service.

    I have been with LS since the first of the year. I have needed their service and every time I have attempted to use it, I have had nothing but problems with who they referred me to, Ross & Matthews in TX. R&M is just as bad and they rush you off the phone and DO NOT give accurate counsel, yet when I called LegalShield they just keep giving me the runaround. I have requested a full refund and was told that because I took "counsel" I was not owed a refund, yet the alleged "counsel" is NOT legal guidance and I have on record that every time I requested said counsel I would not get a call from R&M until I finally complained enough. This service is NOT worth a dime a month. STAY AWAY.

    I have been a LegalShield member for about 5 months and I have used the service 6 times in those 5 months. I had my will, living will, power of attorney done, as well as a speeding ticket I got was dismissed. I also have used it for consultation on family matters and an issue I had with a restaurant. Not every time I asked a question did I receive the answer I was hoping for but each time I received a callback within 4 hours and I feel like I'm equipped to face whatever issues come my way because I no longer have to Google the answers to extremely important questions. I was skeptical in the beginning but, after using Legalshield on numerous occasions, no more doubt here.

    My 71 year old mother, who has dementia, was enrolled in this plan. She was also recruited to sell this product! Do you really think this is a quality company? I have sent this company a Power of Attorney 4 times. They have released information to me, now they say they do not have the POA. In my opinion this is not a quality company. Also, you do not have to have an insurance license to sell this product. A roofer sold this to my mother.

    I am not happy with this service at all. I was instructed to contact Kivel and Howard law firm. Then I was referred to a local attorney. I was then informed that my free consultation was from Kivel and Howard when in fact that was to be a referral. I then had to pay for a local consultation. Furthermore Legalshield claims you get a discount from attorneys as a member. However it is not stated how much the discount is. It is 25% for those who may not know. I have cancelled my membership. Now I have to put it in writing even though I called and cancelled. After some research others have been billed after cancelling. I recommend cancelling your credit card number and get a new number if you want to be sure not to be billed again.

    I joined LegalShield through my employment. The representative made it sound like a great plan. It would cover any legal matters you may have. I had a will already made up but wanted to have it updated, I was informed this only covered a phone consultation. If I wanted to meet with an attorney I would have to pay 75% of the legal fee. I would get 25% off. I have been paying for this service for at least 4 years. They might be ok with writing letters or a phone call but don't expect any other service without paying for it.

LegalShield offers a full range of benefits coverage, which includes the 25% Preferred Member Discount off the attorney’s standard hourly rate for assistance not otherwise specifically offered with the membership. Will preparation is included in the scope of benefits, however, as stated in the contract of benefits, “Any Covered Person desiring a Last Will and Testament should complete a copy of the attached Will Questionnaire, and return it by mail to the Provider Attorney.” Additionally, any questions or concerns regarding preparation or update of one’s Last Will & Testament may be addressed via Consultation Benefits with the Provider Law Firm, which as stated in the membership contract, “The Covered Person may receive toll-free telephone consultations on unlimited legal matters.” Again, we are sorry to hear that the membership benefits did not quite meet expectations; however, the coverage that is offered was available.

    Found out my former friend use fraudulent information for a car loan. Contact LegalShield and all they do is put on a good front. The lawyer at DKS law which you can never get a hold of and they never know what going on says they don't do anything with that. This is after months of dealing with this and all they did was write a letter. But the LegalShield guy said they had a 95% success rate and all this bull when nothing has been resolved for my case. This is nothing but pure BS!

    I contracted with LegalShield. I requested their assistance to resolve a miscarriage of justice at an Equitable Distribution Hearing at the Circuit Court in Leesburg, Va. I was without a lawyer because the attorney representing me (Jennifer ** of Whitbeck, Cisneros, McElroy quit less than two months before the hearing (after agreeing to the hearing). LegalShield, for some unknown reason, referred the matter to a non-participating law firm (Offit|Kurman). The matter was urgent, but it took more than a week for the attorney (David **) to respond.

    My I refused to agree to a fraudulent settlement agreement at the hearing on 9/13/2018 and was not allowed to testify that my husband was lying along with a witness (his secretary). The judge (Stephen **) would not allow me or my two adult children to testify, both were on the witness list. I had to sign an agreement with Offit|Kurman on September 27, 2018 and specifically requested Mr. ** file motions to obtain spousal support, life insurance, medical insurance, pension (QDRO), payment of outstanding medical bills, debt relief and legal fees.

    I am a homemaker with no income (as agreed upon with my husband), while he was earning in excess of $157,000.00 a year. Mr. **, after more than 5 months, failed to file any motions and billed me and my parents almost $40,000.00 (with full knowledge of my circumstances, and my parents using their retirement funds). A hearing on March 18, 2019 was held where the judge (**) rejected Mr. ** brief and left me penniless, on Medicaid, food stamps, and filing bankruptcy. Ex-husband fled the state of Virginia after the 9/13/2018 hearing and is a fugitive with an outstanding arrest warrant. Multiple letters and emails were addressed to Mr. Jeff Bell, CEO at LegalShield by me and my father. Mr. Bell has failed to respond directly regarding the matter.

    I had service, first as a part of an employer-sponsored service, then individually for about 4 years. It is a scam. They deliver virtually nothing and fight you tooth and nails to do anything, forcing you instead to retain them for a full fee, which you can do even without the monthly subscription, which only entitles you to marketing junk.

    On a very simple case dealing with an on-line sale, they wouldn't write a letter and then once reluctantly agreeing to do so, they claimed their e-mail security system wouldn't allow them to receive documents, thus making them unable to author a letter on my behalf (while asking $50 for a USPS Priority Main fee to ship it (in real life it costs $5). The cancellation process is the true revelation of the fraudulent nature of this program. You get bounced from one representative to another, finally bouncing you off to an automated line with bizarre instructions designed to fraud you into another 1+ month of subscription over trivial clerical errors. Stay away!

    I have had two legal issues in the past two years that I needed help with. I have been a member of Legal Shield either on my own or through a sponsored plan for a few years. One issue is with a home warranty company and a furnace that needs replacing. The home warranty company wants to pay 1/5th the cost of the furnace replacement. Not only was the settlement less than adequate the warranty company would not make any explanation as to how they came up with the offer.

    I went to Legal Shield and described the problem and they agreed to write one letter to the home warranty company. After several weeks there was one response from the home warranty company that was basically "too bad, so sad." I was told by the attorney assigned at the time (that has since left the law firm assigned), to take the issue to the Illinois Department of Insurance, or the Illinois Attorney General. Oh boy, what great advice. Not only did I already do that but, anyone working with a governmental agency knows that this most likely will not result in anything other than more delays and more paperwork.

    The second issue involves a small claims debt that I did not even know I had from over 10 years ago. Again, I called Legal Shield. I was told I could talk briefly to an attorney. They told me about all the paperwork that I NEEDED TO do as they could not help me as this was over 10 years ago. They also hooked me up with a law firm that could help in this case but that law firm wanted a $1000 retainer to handle a $1200 debt. A debt that I have no information on at all. However, that attorney that wanted the $1000 retainer was charging me 75% of his normally hourly rate due to the arrangement with Legal Shield. Stop, I can't handle all the help! Sorry if I sound negative but I am canceling the membership with Legal Shield and dealing with this on my own. Very sad that these people have millions of dollars to advertise their plans but, don't really help their members.

    The only truth about this product is that it's prepaid. I had a very simple issue with some student loans that I had finished paying. The lawyer for LegalShield said it was something they didn't deal with. He doesn't deal with government agencies. According to legal shield that's the end of the road for my issue. The attorney doesn't have to work on my case. They could do this with any issue. Legal Shield, in my opinion is a scam. Don't pay for their service.

I made a phone call to cancel and a written notice. They said they only got the call not the written notice. LIARS. Service is full of crap.     Got LegalShield membership. Need an attorney for family law. They bounce me around not understanding what they needed to do. They refuse to light write a letter on my behalf like it states that they think that they do when you hire them. When they finally found me an attorney the attorney never understood the case. Took my money never addressed it. LegalShield couldn't get a hold of them. They said, "It's your problem. You're the one who hired them." ended up going to state about the attorney unit up getting mail practiced and suspended from being an attorney.

    LegalShield never refunded me my money. Lost my retainers tens of thousands of dollars due to the case never being addressed. Their refuse to give you anything or whiting you can't complain. Everything is done by phone and they have no care about your situation, your case or what they say that their memberships do. Stay away from this place. Don't lose your money. I've know I've run across other people now cuz it took years in court to address this attorney in the state removing their license.

    I've met other people where their cases of their attorneys hiding money knowing that LegalShield will protect them by not saying anything wrong letting them get away with this and other malpractice lawsuits removals of license. The works. Stay the hell away from this place. They will ruin your life if you have a actual legal matter that you have to do. Unless you're some moron who only needs a traffic ticket fixed or a dumb question that they're not going to give you a good answer to anyways go ahead and waste your money you damn moron.

    I joined this company after I got picked up for a speeding ticket and possession of ** and paraphernalia. I couldn't believe they didn't take me to jail but was given 3 tickets and was told I had to appear in court in 3 weeks. I want to praise this company as I joined a week after my trouble and got awesome customer service from 95 percentage of the people and attorneys I dealt with. They were very knowledgeable and they offered me a 45 percentage off on the case but since I was given excellent advice I represented myself.

    Actually I think it was a God thing but ran into a attorney 5 minutes before court and it was all dismissed except the speeding ticket so my fines went from $5000 for ** in Missouri plus $479 for paraphernalia down to $129 for court costs and ticket. I am so blessed to have God on my side and I appreciate the team at LegalShield. I did cancel after that (I sent them a cancellation request) within a week was given a refund but I am joining again as for the $$ for peace of mind is Awesome.

    OMG! Before I signed up with them, I told the CSR RE the urgency of my case. They told me that I had to wait 24 hrs for the CC charge to go thru before membership is activated. I FINALLY got a call from attorney telling me to email them the documents for them to review. That was last Thursday. I did. Now I get a call telling me that they FINALLY got thru central processing and that now it will take an additional business days for them to review the docs? It's only 64 pages. I can read two books in 3 days. What? And that attorney was quite rude and short about it too! So, not only do I have to wait, but I have to let some attorney speak to me like I'm some chump before hanging up on me? And don't bother calling LegalShield about your concerns or worry; the "manager" who took my call at LS was not professional at all. But go ahead and try them even after reading my warning. You'll remember when you read this!

    I have been a member of Legal Shield for about ten years. I have had issues with business associates, neighbors, and just a plethora of legal questions along with the creation of a will, and the handling of other legal matters. Our Phoenix based law firm referred me over to a New York attorney when I was frivolously sued, easily $25000 in legal costs. All covered by my legal shield membership. In all fairness I was selling the program and reached a fairly high ranking the networking program. I am no longer involved in the sales but strongly urge anyone who owns property or has invested capital needing occasional legal protection to take up a membership. For the cost of most attorneys to write a letter for you, you receive a year's membership and thousands of dollars in benefits at your disposal. This is one of the very best investments I have ever made.

    Do not believe the reviews! Some lawyers are not professional or just starting out. They say things that are like huh? Most of the time they told me they have no idea what you are talking about although they were supposed to be in the area of law you needed. The lawyers don’t know simple things. Most of the law firms in their network have really low ratings/reviews. It is like pulling teeth to get anything done with these law firms. Then they tell you if there is any issue contact corporate office. The law firms can’t be trusted and If you have an actual case you “would get laughed out of court” like one attorney with LegalShield told me.

    They don’t even do simple research anyone could do to answer questions. Wow this company is one of those you think oh it’s just a few dollars what can go wrong. Then they are so great to get you in beginning then after the nightmare they’re telling you tough cookies. They become incredibly rude. Turned in very bad experience. Wish I never joined. I would have solved my issues a lot faster and better doing research on my own and most attorneys do free consultation. I suggest you call an attorney on your own.

    I had an issue with an airline who lost my luggage for 3 days. Once I got it, all my good MAC makeup was stolen out of my bag. The airline refused to refund. I contacted my law firm who advised me and they said there was no law that would require them to refund items stolen out of luggage for domestic flight only for international flights but they gave me some great advice and language to utilize in a letter that I wrote to the airline. Out of the $280 worth of merchandise stolen from my bag the same airline who refused to refund me anything initially sent me a check via certified mail for $178. I was a happy camper because without the advice from my law firm I would’ve gotten back to zero dollars. This membership is worth its weight in GOLD.

    I have had the services for 17 years and life wouldn't be the same without it. I had an incident where my brother couldn't breathe so I rushed him to the emergency room. On the way an officer pulled me over, followed me to the emergency room and still gave me a ticket for driving 100 mph in a 50. My Legal Shield attorney represented me in court and was able to get it thrown out based on an error in the ticket he wrote. This saved 11 pts, $600 fine, and I could have faced 30 days in jail for going 50mph over the speed limit. Needless to say I'm forever indebted to these incredible services. This was just one time I used it. I have several other stories where it provided peace of mind.

    When my husband and I were moving across country, his company hired movers to ship all of our household items including his SUV to our new home. When his SUV arrived, it was damaged. We took it in for an estimate and the estimate for repairs was just under $1,800. When we contacted the moving company, their first offer was $500, and after fighting with them, the most they were willing to offer us was $800 towards the cost of repairs. When we contacted our law firm with LegalShield, the attorney wrote a three page letter on our behalf to the moving company, which resulted in us hearing from one of their executives who sent us a check for the full $1,800 for the repair estimate.     I've been a LegalShield member professionally and personally for many years. In this time I've had very little need for legal services, but kept the membership "just in case". I finally had need to contact an attorney and to say unimpressive is an understatement. I requested they draft a collections letter demanding my deadbeat client pay for services contracted and rendered. The letter I received made it sound like I was coming to this deadbeat with my hat in my hands begging for my money. LegalShield wouldn't even put in the letter that they were my representative attorneys.

    According to the LegalShield lawyer, they can only advise via telephone and my membership only grants me "access" to an attorney. If I want to retain their services I would have to pay even more money. What a scam. After paying thousands of dollars "just in case" I needed an attorney, when I really needed one they were no where to be found. I would have been better off putting that money in a savings account. At least the bank would have paid me interest and I could have hired a REAL attorney for my issue.

    I was told by someone at my tax attorney’s office that LegalShield is like a concierge doctor - you pay a monthly fee ahead of time and when you need a lawyer for something that comes up they provide one. He must have been getting compensation for referrals, because their service is nothing like that. If you call, they want documentation about the issue emailed to their server in a complex process and in a week or so an associate of the law firm assigned to you by the app calls you and agrees to write a letter in response to whatever letter you got that need legal help with. That’s it. They will not do anything more. If you try to go beyond that first communication, they refer to to ANOTHER lawyer at a different firm for a supposed discount rate. It is clear they don’t even really read the material you sent to them.

    Their advice is always “pay the fine/bill/etc” or “you’ll never get that money back” and if you tell them again why you don’t think you should have to pay or why the money is owed you, they say “sorry, we’ve done your one letter already.” Their detailed contract review always consists of “yeah it seems pretty standard to me. Ok bye.” The advice you pay for is basically “do nothing” in every case, or else “here go pay another lawyer more money, we’re done with you.” They make it very hard to cancel the membership and autocharge your credit card. I had to change my credit card to a dummy card issued to me by my bank so they’d stop charging me even after I asked them to cancel my membership. I read that they are basically just a pyramid scheme. All the reviews online read like advertisements and are copies of each other, often word for word.

    I provided services to a business in another state and received a check that bounced. That business then became difficult to reach, would not return my calls. I contacted the law firm in my state, and they referred me to the law firm in the other state. That firm wrote a strongly worded letter indicated that legal action was our next step if the matter was not resolved. I almost immediately received a call from the owner wanting to satisfy the debt. I've used this service many times for debt collection and contact reviews, with great results and never received an additional bill for doing so. Every business owner should have this plan.

    My accident insurance plan advertised that families with kids participating in sports should have their plan. My son tore his ACL playing lacrosse so I sent in a claim that was promptly denied stating that he was a college athlete and therefore not covered. My LegalShield law firm sent a letter on my behalf and called the insurance company and was able to get the claim paid at the full amount the plan scheduled to pay. Even better, my law firm did not keep a percentage of what they were able to collect on my behalf.

    Within a weeks time, I was able to utilize my monthly legal services through LegalShield to review a job contract as well as a lease. After my email, they responded with a phone call within 4 hours, and were able to review my documents providing consultation in a couple of days, on two separate occasions. I felt that was lightning fast. I had a lengthy conversation with an attorney for one of my documents, which would have cost over $200. They answered all of my questions and were very easy to talk with. All this included with my low monthly rate. I don't know why anyone would "not" choose to have these services at their fingertips in this day and age!

    I have been a member of LegalShield since 2014 and have used the consultation services several times. The plan states an attorney will respond within 4 business hours of my placing a call to the provider firm. On three occasions I have called on a Friday afternoon, expecting to hear from the attorney on Monday. Twice the attorney called back within an hour; the third time it was 2 hours, but I had called at 4:30 pm and the attorney returned my call at 6:30, an hour and a half after her office closed. "So you won't have to worry about it over the weekend." That is real service!

    Recently, I received an email inviting me to "re"activate my ENHANCED Identity Theft protection, IDShield. Curious, I called my agent to know what was going on. She told me that LegalShield is now using a different platform to keep up with the need for better monitoring. She then mentioned that each individual member has its own unique encryption code. It means that they don't have a database that could be breached like all the others... Needless to say, I went ahead and REactivated my IDShield and even added their option for monitoring with all three credit bureaus. For $5 extra a month, are you kidding me? It's a deal! Now those bad people can try me!

I have had between 3-5 contracts reviewed, two traffic tickets that they helped me with, and between 5-10 letters sent on my behalf and countless calls for legal advice, all without receiving a bill. If I didn't have this membership, I would have easily spent over $7,500 in attorney fees. I have been part of 10 or more data breaches so all of my information is on the dark web.     My husband and I have been members for 13 years. Last year after my husband was hospitalized, we received a bill AFTER insurance paid their share for a little over $1000. My husband called billing about why he didn't think the bill was valid. They didn't see it that way, so he called the law firm and told him his side of the story, sent the bill over for review and after all was said and done, the attorney agreed that the bill wasn't fair. He sent a letter to the hospital demanding the bill be removed and why. Hospital responded to us, removing the $1000+ they were trying to unfairly charge us. Cost me ZERO for that letter or the consult. All included in my membership. That one thing paid for my membership for more than 4 years.

    I was stopped in the State of Michigan for speeding and cited 4 points for not having my license and speeding in a construction zone (which was not marked), even though there was no actual barrels or construction occurring. By tapping the “app”, I uploaded and sent my Ohio law firm affiliate my ticket! Within 2 hours they contacted me, to inform me of the Michigan firm that would be following up. Not only was the Firm able to get my mandatory court appearance waived, but also reduced my fine down from $487, to $150. Most importantly, the citation was adjudicated down from 4 points on my MVR record to “0”. That saved me at minimum $600 a year from increase in my insurance rates!

    They were able to guide me directly through the steps to handle this out of state issue, which why I love having a law firm, able to represent me in all 50 states and Canada! Thanks LegalShield for your services, paying for the next 6 years of membership from this 1 ticket alone, from this “Mayhem” moment! PS. Don’t exceed the speed limit in Michigan with a Ohio plate on your car!

    I called LegalShield because I needed a demand letter, one of their "covered" benefits. They referred me to an outside attorney, and said that the demand letter and other covered benefits would still be covered. However the attorney they referred me to is attempting to charge me $2500 for the demand letter. I called LegalShield and they claimed that the only thing that I get from an attorney that they refer me to is 25% off their hourly rate. Per the contract of covered benefits, they should be covered as I had been told, see below copy and paste.

    "B. If the consulting Provider Attorney, in his/her Professional Judgment, determines from the toll-free consultation with the Covered Person that either a telephone call or a letter would be of further assistance to the Covered Person, then in that event, the first such letter or telephone call for each non-related personal legal subject matter per Membership Year will be written or made on behalf of the Covered Person at no additional charge. The Covered Person is also entitled to a maximum of two (2) such letters or phone calls per Membership Year on business legal matters with no more than one (1) per subject matter. Any additional telephone calls or letters from the Provider Attorney after the first one (1) per subject per Membership Year will be provided at a discount of twenty-five percent (25%) from the Provider Attorney's standard rate.

    C. After consultation, the Covered Person may have reviewed by the Provider Attorney at no additional charge, any personal legal document of ten (10) pages or less in which the Covered Person is a contracting party. Additionally, the Covered Person may have reviewed one (1) business legal document of ten (10) pages or less, per Membership Year, in which the Covered Person is signing on behalf of the business owned by the Covered Person. The Covered Person shall mail a copy of the document to be reviewed, retaining the original, together with his/her telephone number, to the Provider Attorney. The Provider Attorney will review the copy and thereafter advise the Covered Person by telephone." In addition, the attorney they referred me to has provided me with a great deal of false information. I have since found a non-LegalShield attorney that actually wants to help me with my issue, not just try and molest my bank account!

    I've had great experiences with my LegalShield plan, and have used it dozens of times in the ten years I've been a member. Most recently, I got advice on how to deal with an ongoing email hoax that kept threatening to sue me. My attorney was able to make it go away with a quick consultation and a single phone call. But more importantly, my mom passed away just over a month ago. She and my dad are also members, and the Arizona firm was able to handle the numerous questions my elderly father had to settle the estate, all at no cost. He's also getting help with a pesky collections account this isn't his. Everyone in our family has A LegalShield and IDShield plan, and none of us would ever again be without it. Once you learn how to use it, it becomes your "go to" for any legal or consumer event in your life!

    I recently had to use my membership to utilize the tax audit services. As part of our membership, we get 50 hours of a tax attorney's time. I recently got a letter from the IRS that I had apparently made a mistake on my taxes. I don't know if anyone else uses TurboTax, but I never thought that they would allow me to make a mistake. But apparently it is possible, especially when you're dealing with 50/50 custody stuff. I called my Law Firm who referred me to a tax attorney who had me turn in the letter from the IRS as well as my return for the year. I did make the mistake, however, the attorney was able to communicate with the IRS. Through that communication, I didn't have any penalties. I did have to pay back the extra I had received in my refund, but thankfully since I had already spent my refund, they are deferring that until my refund next year.

    This service with an attorney I had found for myself would have cost me probably at least a couple thousand dollars, maybe several thousand dollars. As it was it didn't cost me anything beyond my normal monthly membership fee. My membership saved me so much money in this instance as well as gave me the Peace of Mind. I don't know if I could have negotiated the same result on my own.

    My wife and I became members of LegalShield in 2009. We had invested in the home next door in 2008 and added on a 1200 square foot edition just before the market crash. Needless to say, we became landlords by default. The tenants upon move out had damaged the wood floors to the degree that we needed to replace a 300 square foot area in the new addition. We were out of money and the tenant's dad was a big lawyer in Houston and wrote us a letter threatening a lawsuit. We were out of money and didn't know where to turn. A customer of mine had mentioned LegalShield to me sometime before. My wife upon receiving the threatening letter asked me who that legal guy was. We bought the service and thought, what do we have to lose. We liked that we weren't bound by a contract and could cancel at any time.

    We called the Law Firm of Ross and Matthews our law firm here in Texas, they told us to upload a copy of the letter to their website. They then fired off a response letter on our behalf and the floor cost of $3200 was paid for by the tenant, all it cost us was our $17 monthly membership, this one letter has paid for our membership cost to this date. Fast forward to now and we have had the attorneys there at Ross and Matthews help us navigate through countless legal issues and help us understand our options. They have helped us with big things all the way down to a $30 overcharge. In our 10 years as members, they have helped us get back in excess of $40,000 that didn't cost us anymore than our monthly membership. We will never be without the service.

    I am a member since 1995. I will go years without using it then all of a sudden I'll need it multiple times for just everyday life kinda things we all experience. My last usage was protecting me against my builder that went bankrupt and the lumber yard tried suing me for what the builder didn't pay for!! My neighbor was in the same situation along with a few others. Everyone else that was using this guy as a builder spent thousands in legal fees and I spend NOTHING nor did I have to show up at court!     I received a letter of collection on a bill I had paid 12 years ago. When I called the law firm they told me to talk to no one as this could trigger a recollection. They wrote a 2 page letter to cease and dismiss all contact with me, as I did not owe them. I got an apology letter back sent to the law firm saying they were mistaken. Without the ability to call the Law firm I would not have known my rights. Thank you. I will keep this forever!

    I got a ticket from the Scottsdale police. I am a Lyft driver. Driving early morning they pulled me over for no reason. They said my tires hit the bike lane. To make a long story short. I fought it in court. Julie my Legalshield attorney showed up in court with me, within 5 minutes she noticed that the officer didn't say the time and place of my ticket when describing my so called violation. Julie asked the Judge to throw out the ticket because by law the officer has to say the exact time and place of violation. The judge found me not guilty. That saved me $260 & points on Insurance. Traffic coverage is just one of the many reasons I am a LegalShield member.

    I've used LegalShield several times since becoming a member. The law firm is always polite and professional and responds faster than promised. I've had a letter written which helped resolve a dispute and was provided with some forms needed for a real estate matter. We also took advantage of the annual review and adjustments to our will. That alone was worth the membership fee. I'd recommend LegalShield to my family and friends.

    My accountant did my taxes, and I sent her a signed permission form with my banking information, so the IRS could electronically deposit my refund of close to $5000.00. Months passed without receiving my refund. I went to the IRS to check the status, and found it had been deposited right after it was submitted. I called the bank, and was told it was deposited in someone else's account, as I had transposed the last 2 digits of my acct. #. I asked them to fix the issue, and was told the money was gone, so there was nothing they could do. I called my LegalShield attorneys. They wrote a letter to my bank. They sent me a copy. The next day the $5000.00 was back in my checking account. I would never be without my LegalShield membership.

    I don’t know what I would do without having access to an attorney on a Saturday afternoon when my ex-wife tried to have CPS take my son from me two weeks after LegalShield helped me get emergency custody. She told them I had hit my son, which was not true and in fact the reason he was taken from her. So I called the emergency line at LegalShield and the attorney spoke with CPS. They left without my son and never heard from them again. CPS didn’t know my son was removed by emergency court order from my ex’s home for abuse, didn’t know I won custody two weeks ago nor did they even investigate the claim. Without access to the attorney on the weekend, I would have no doubt lost custody of my son. I am grateful for this service and have had it since 2004.

    I received a notice from a major car company informing me that my car was under recall. I took it in and this large dealership reported that my car was fine. Shortly after the visit, a new knocking sound appeared. After a period of time, my car experienced a complete engine seizure.     I have been a member of LegalShield for 18 years. Prior to that, I was used to dealing with attorneys on a "911" basis. In other words I would put off using an attorney because of cost until the very last minute. With LegalShield I have been able to spoil myself because I don't have to think about cost, I just get my questions and issues handled. My provider law firm has provided these services for over 30 years and they have perfected having a great "bedside manner" and truly helping people like me and thousands more from answering questions to fighting for mine and others rights!!!

    My favorite memory, so far, is not long after I became a member I had to get an attorney to represent me in getting custody of my 16 year old daughter. I was referred to a very competent family law attorney while my ex used an attorney from her church who was not skilled in that area. Long story short, I got custody of my daughter, neither of us - especially my daughter - never had to appear in a courtroom and I got total custody and child support. I believe had I tried to find an attorney on my own, I would not have had the same results. This service can keep a legal question from becoming a legal problem! I recommend them daily!

    I have been a member of LegalShield for 23 years and just love, love, love this service! I recently was on the way to a football game and had to drive from Nashville, TN to Starkville MS. Well...that puts you going through Alabama with a TN tag..no love lost. I was pulled over and ticketed for doing 74 mph in a 55 mph zone. I am an excellent driver, just like to arrive early. I was able through the new app to scan my ticket on the side of the road and send directly to my TN provider firm, who called me the following Monday.

    Within 48 hrs, I had connected with my Alabama lawyer in Russellville, AL who related to me that he knew the judge, she was fair and he could probably negotiate this to be dismissed and taken off my record, which he then did, and all I had to do was pay court cost. This is simple... Without LegalShield, I would have just paid the fine, which would make that the third ticket on my record (previous two were also dismissed) and about $3000 in additional premiums to my auto insurer over the course of the next three years. With LegalShield, no previous tickets the judge saw, and still no tickets on my record, and a "preferred driver" rate from my insurer.... This is a no brainer!

From what I hear LegalShield cannot control the actions of the provider law firms, but they do pick some of the top rated firms in the country. The Anderson Law firm in Alabama is Amazing!

An easy call turned into a long winded word track from someone showing no interest in my concerns. My expectations weren't high for $25 per month but the only experience I've had was negative.     Since LegalShield dropped Kroll Services, it has requested customers jump through innumerable hoops to validate identity -- which methods for me have been highly frustrating and have led me to question this company's competency. For example, The use of extremely difficult identity-checking questions from one of the credit agencies has caused me (and others) failing to answer the security questions and thus be forced (if we want to continue full services) to mail in documentation. Question: why make this transition so complicated and frustrating? I conclude that LegalShield make a mistake in requiring their loyal members to answer frequently outdated and overly complicated security questions. I believe LegalShield owes its members an apology for what I consider a misguided management decision.

    I have been trying to cancel my LegalShield Membership since November of 2018. Rather than honor my request, you ignore it and my calls and my mailed letter. I am respectfully asking for a full refund because of the misleading help one is given. When AMEX tried to block you, you found another account to withdraw the money with, sneaky sneaky. You continually lie that I never canceled and a letter was not received. I find it funny because if I said that to the IRS well, too bad for me. I cannot believe your fight with me over a lousy 25 a month. Others have filed fraudulent claims against you and guess what, you get to prevail what nonsense. I am not alone in my complaints and you are disgusting for fighting me. There is NO justice as all lawyers are evil sharks.

    We have reviewed our call records and files for having received any notification of cancellation prior to the phone call on 07/16/2019, but unfortunately none were found. LegalShield offers detailed instructions for cancellation procedures, which includes encouraging the member to follow up to verify receipt of their cancellation request. Even providing automated phone prompts when calling, as well as automated email responses to make the process as easy as possible.

    Additionally, LegalShield abides by the Federal Reserve Laws, which states that a company is not responsible for payments not reported outside of 60 days. Furthermore, the Federal Reserve Law states that it is the responsibility of the consumer to monitor their personal bank and financial accounts.

    LegalShield memberships are capable of having only one account on file from which we’re able to automatically deduct our payments. Records indicate that the card issuer, in this case American Express, automatically updated the billing information on file when the credit card information changed. This is a service that many financial institutions offer, and we did not look or find a different account from which to draft.

    We have worked diligently across 40 years to provide a service that lifts the negative stigma that has for so long been associated with legal professionals. LegalShield is dedicated to the mission of providing equal access to justice for all.

    I have been a member of LegalShield for more than 19 years. I have watched this company grow, rebrand and assume new leadership. When I was introduced to LegalShield in May 2000, I asked questions and received my answers. I was not blindsided nor ignorant to what I was purchasing. This company does not operate in that manner. I have always received great service and respect. Over the past 19 years, I have had numerous cases and disputes resolved with a simple monthly fee. I am grateful to be able to retain an entire law firm for less than $25 a month. Now, with any place of employment, you may have misrepresentation. Sad to say, there are some bad apples in the bunch. Everyone’s experiences and expectations are different. My time spent as a LegalShield member speaks for itself.

    Updated on 06/13/2019: When posting reviews about LegalShield and their accounting insufficiencies, they will respond with blatant lies that are simply not true in order to devalue the review of the consumer versus taking responsibility for their mistakes. In my case, I have asked numerous times for a date that ANY check was sent out only to be ignored or told a check will be in the mail soon, but it will take 15 days to be approved and 7-10 business days to receive once snail mailed with no tracking number, which is a whopping total of 25 days to simply get a check into the hands of a recipient.

    These are methods used to devalue the review of a reviewer. However, I am not an unintelligent individual who doesn’t have proof to back up their statements. Instead of providing dates as requested, they simply make wild statements such as "we have sent you money four times and we have no idea why you haven’t received it". How about they instead provide dates for all those checks they claim they sent out and then we can check with USPS and determine how they could have been careless enough to misdeliver FOUR times, which we know is not possible.

    Original Review: I have no other recourse than to provide a review online. I have been requesting a refund for my $99 sign up fee for 6 months. They told me it would take about 20 days for me to get my money back due to an “approval process” and snail mail, but it’s been 6 MONTHS since my initial request for a refund. I have no idea why it is taking so long to simply give me my $99 back when it only took a few seconds for them to receive it from my bank account. This sends a message of unprofessionalism and complete disregard for anyone else. Always research a company before you give them your money, because you will have a heck of a time receiving it back. The pushy nature of my sponsor is what initially made me not want to continue with them and now their extreme lack of professionalism has solidified that my choice NOT to join was a good choice.

    I recently signed up, only to realize it was a way to consist take monthly subscription from your card. The service offered is only useful if you are in a situation as such you will pay for something you do not need. Also, after cancelling I was not reimbursed and the 'manager' Debra ** said that I cannot receive a reimbursement even though I had tried cancelling before the monthly subscription came to an end. It is a scam, so do not fall in the trap of signing up for it since you can probably pay for a better lawyer and for useful services outside.

    I'm sorry, but some of the feedback here is from people who either were miscommunicated what is covered or unfortunately ignorant. I've used LegalShield over 60 times, recovered over $20,000 in 2 1/2 years and would NEVER get rid of it! For $25 a month, that's 5 Starbucks coffee, some people think the service should be their ultimate savior. Listen, even if it recovers a thousand dollars one time, that pays for itself for 3 years and let me tell you, life will throw you some curve balls and I want to know I have access to knowing what my rights are. Don't let these disgruntled people and reviews mislead you, why do over 70% of Europeans have legal insurance??? Think about that....

    This is not a good company at all. I canceled with them twice and they still continue to try to pull money from my account. I had to dispute two transactions and they even tried for the third again. Do not sign up with them unless you have read carefully and still be very carefully. Watch your account for a couple months around the same time to make sure you’re not charged again. Run. They are full of it.

    We were looking at adopting 4 grandchildren that we are raising and needed help. We joined LegalShield. We were told they could help with a non-contested adoption. We joined, I called the law firm that we were assigned and told that I had a 90 day waiting period before they would help. I had to pay my membership fees but could not get help with my issue for 90 days. Good deal for the company. Bad deal for the member.

    As we are now moving to another state I sent in a cancellation letter cancelling my membership June 1st. Today May 22, 2019 I called my assigned law firm and was told my membership was on hold and to call LegalShield. I called and was told no services unless I re-instated my membership and that I was paid thru June 3, 2019. That I needed to email requesting a particle refund. So they stopped service 5/10, took money thru 6/3, but even thru I was paid thru June 3 they did not have provide services. If I had not called I would have paid for almost a month and had no benefits. Why do I have to request a refund. Why was it not provided when services stopped? Again good for the company. Bad for the customer.

    I don’t recommend this company. I have a legal problem in this moment, somebody recommended me LegalShield. I called this to this guys and they told me a attorney will contact me soon. The attorney call me back and ask for a case documents. I sent the documents for review and they didn’t call me back. I try several times to contact the attorney and then they told me they have a situations on the office (at this time I lost a week). I called back LegalShield to explain the situation and they referred me with another attorney. They told me they call me back in two days and they didn’t (at this moment I lost almost two weeks). My legal problem increases really hard. Seriously I don’t recommend this company. I went personal to another attorney and at the moment they took the case.

    I signed up for LegalShield in November of 2018. When I went to use it for personal and business they could not assist me in finding an attorney in my area. I reached out to the rep that sold me the services Anthony ** and advised him that the law offices Parker-Stanbury could not assist me on my personal or business matters he assisted me on filing a complaint, HOWEVER what he submitted was that Parker Stanbury was not assisting me which was not the case. The matter is that Anthony sold me services where there are no service providers. He knowing and fraudulently sold me services that do not exist in my area. I reached out to corporate and they confirmed that they do not have any partners in the Bakersfield, and did not know why Anthony sold me the service, hence I could not get assistance because all of the partners LegalShield has are in LA and no one will drive 2 hours away for a case being personal nor business.

    When I requested a full refund for selling me services that do not exist I got the runaround, Anthony would not respond to me emails nor return my phone calls. The supervisor at corporate was rude and only give me 14 day credit after I paid for months on services that do not exist, this is fraudulent a malicious bad practice so stay away from this company. I have sent several emails to Legal Shield customer services with a generic response "We received your message and will respond in 48 hours". To this day I have yet to receive an email response requesting full refund nor has a supervisor called me back since my emails are not being answered. Again stay away from this company and their fraudulent reps like Anthony **. Swindled past customer, Hilda.

    WOW!!!! WHAT AN AMAZING COMPANY! I'm appalled by these negative reviews, some people expect the world for $25 a month. Lol. Seriously, just being able to speak to an attorney say 12 times in an 8 month period for a landlord situation, or being refunded $278 from Verizon for a bill dispute, being refunded $933 from Samsung for an exploding phone, recovering over $5000 from an employer who stopped paying me, getting refunded $1300 from a car dealership, and this happened to me all in 6 month. Now YOU tell me, is the service real? HECK YA it is and I will have it for life. It's cheaper to be taken advantage of than protect your rights, but not anymore. Thank you so much for changing my life LegalShield, what a true blessing. :)
