That attorney returned my call in a timely manner and provided me with guidance as to how to proceed. This issue is still ongoing. Once I have heard anything from the contractor, I will contact the attorney to see what we should do.

I received my letter in a timely manner and liked how it was written. I made a few changes but not many. My issue was length of time I've been in my apartment, the apartments being sold multiple times and the new owners never put my correct deposit down. I'm moving so needed to have that on my move out letter and apply my last month's rent that I actually paid when I signed the lease years ago.

Neighbor was putting his fence 3 feet inside our property line. His predecessor built a shed 3 feet on our property. He is sure this gives him the right to take a 3 foot strip of property across the back of our property. He wants to take our property and have us pay half of a new survey, half of the fence, and half the cost of brush removal on his property. We already had cleared the brush from our property the previous year. He has threatened to sue me for the money he wants and for me harassing his fence builder. I talked to the builder each time he was putting the fence up in a calm, polite manner to let him know he was putting the fence on our property. Each time he stopped work and was very professional and cooperative. I was referred to Legal Shield by a friend and they were extremely helpful explaining the law and trying to put my nerves at ease.

The issue was the outside lock on the entrance door to my apartment building. It was broken and my landlord/complex management didn't see the need or care to repair it. This represented a dangerous condition where anyone could enter the builder. Legal Shield did a good job in getting my landlord/complex management to fix the lock. Thank you.

The attorney for Will was very helpful in answering my questions on how to best set up a will. She also helped me to get in touch with a trust attorney, and the attorney for Trusts was very helpful in explaining how a trust works versus a will.

I explained my legal situation with the mother of my children leaving the state of California and violating court orders. I was given the resolve of filing a contempt of court as well as another matter that I wrote down (yet lost) and would suggest that the solutions the attorneys provide are followed up with a email.

Any good reviews or fake reviews. This company is money hungry, and will not help you and they say that you can change your mind and get a refund in the beginning, which is what I did after realizing the above. But they still charged me and did not refund the money. If you have no other options, you have no other options… But beware.

I had LegalShield for a few months in 2023. I only used it once, when I needed an immigration lawyer to ask some questions. After raising the request, I received a call 24 hours later, which was pretty quick I’d say. The person on the other end of the line rushed to hang up and didn’t show genuine interest to understand my case and answer my questions to the best of his ability and with my interest in mind. It was a quick call, superficial, and didn’t feel professional. It was a disappointing experience. I canceled my membership afterwards. I do not recommend legal shield based on this experience.

Jake helped me recover from a wrongful eviction. Instead of providing the required 90 days plus relocation costs, I was kicked out with 3 weeks notice and forced to live in my car, separated from my daughter. Kival and Howard demonstrated professionalism and kindness towards me.

I have been a member of "Pre Paid Legal" since 1999. For years I would call the number and the service was stellar. Guaranteed response within 24 hours? Never happened, I got a return phone call within that same work day. My law firm in Toronto was so good I got to know the names of the lawyers and would often have of topic chats about mutual interests. I was so pleased with PPL that I sold family members on the service. I vowed that I would never be without this amazing company. However, times change. The company was bought (?) and name changed to "Legal Shield". Lately, the service is sloppy. We called for a serious issue on April 25th requesting a lawyer to get advice on a tax matter. It's now May 1st and still no return phone call? We've called four times and still no response.
This is horrible and disappointing. Especially disappointing to me because I remember how good this company was. This is an incredible fall from the excellence of prior days. For the first time in 25 years of being a member, I'm wondering why I keep this. I'm actually considering dropping my membership. I know how good this service can be, I'm hoping for a sharp improvement soon.

I asked for addresses of relatives who are co-owners of a piece of land so that the property could be placed in the names of my wife and myself. The attorney I spoke with said that you don't do searches for people, which is understandable.

A "legal firm" claiming to be working on behalf of Wells Fargo contacted me via a "process server." When I followed up, they claimed that they were suing me for a defaulted bank account from 2008 and said I could settle out of court for $1100. I had them send me the "contract" to sign and make payment and forwarded this to my LegalShield attorney. The attorney created a response letter and sent it to the "firm" in question, which settled any concerns I had. Great work. Very fast and efficient and they kept me informed every step of the way.

I had been a member of Legal Shield from 2022 and recently canceled on 4/19/2024 due to the notion of one attorney at Merrit Webb that you get what you pay for which in the attorney's opinion was not much at $25 a month That's $300 a yr and I only used it once prior. The fact is, it's a subscription and regardless that the firm agreed to take on. I felt as if it was a source of referrals to them. I have read other reviews and I happy that it works for others but I don't take customer service and customer friendliness lightly. If I am not treated properly, I take my business elsewhere.

I've used LegalShield for several years. Recently I used it this month about 10 times for legal matters. While LegalShield attorneys were working on legal matters on my behalf such as letters which they require a 3-day turnaround canceled my membership in the middle of providing those services. Do not get this service. I do not recommend it to anyone after how I was treated.

This company is a joke. You pay $30 a month for a free consultation. Once you receive your free consultation. You still have to retain you a lawyer at market rate…. Why are we paying $30 a month… To build someone else’s empire. Just a joke. I got scammed by them….

I cancelled bc they doubled their rates. I paid for the final month. I said I might use it for last month. They said I would have to reopen my case to use the last month and have to go through cancellation process again. I cancelled before my due date for pay. They still charged me. They don't make it easy to get your money back. They are not smooth polished kinda scammy bad feelings they gave me. They didn't help much with any legal issues I had just things I would be able to do a Google search on, info they provided. You could call it a place to donate charity to. They don't do much but take money. They said, "Oh we're sorry to double the rates." I'm sure they're really sorry.

I’m waiting for a phone call back. My parents died from the results of a fire. Because they didn’t die 30 days apart and there were different executors named on the wills, we had to have one person take over we paid thousands of dollars to their lawyers. Now I come to find out that both of my parents in their will put a provision in to name someone out of the will so they couldn’t claim anything. Legal shield lawyer wrote them back into the will as a beneficiary. Now there is a lawsuit and I have to send in the will. I called Legal Shield. I need to hear back. The lawyer’s number is disconnected.

My LegalShield law firm just wrote a great demand letter for me to a CRM company that put me in a 12 month contract that I never agreed to and charged my bank account a cancellation fee and I just got a refund and a huge apology from the owner! Love this service! I also use the LegalShield member perks a lot and saved $220 on Six Flags tickets this year and 35% off Regal and AMC movie tickets which we take advantage of all the time. It's really great. Great value for the dollar.

I purchased Legal Shield for myself. A few years later I canceled my membership. Then I purchased it for my business. When I would ask for advice, they said my account was canceled. I sent emails and made phone calls to get it straighten out, to no avail. Yet I was billed every month for nine months! When I finally got someone to listen they found the issue and said the firm saw my personal account canceled. That's why I got no response. Yet they refused to rebate my mine months of payments!

When I called to reinstate my membership I was told I'd receive a welcome email with a membership number within a couple of days. After a couple weeks I contacted Legal Shield again and received my number. Since then I've contacted the attorney for my area and begun the process to complete my paperwork.

I had questions about a rent lease with a prior property owner vs a new property owner, and whether the former was legit until new staggered leases were ultimately provided to all community members by the end of 2024. I also wanted to know if it was considered fair if renters on the new lease had more stringent terms than renters on the prior lease. The attorney assigned to my case answered all my questions so that I was able to make the right decisions for my situation.

I paid for this service to provide a second opinion for my Adult Daughter concerning her accident. So they connected her to a law firm and one of their lawyers consulted her with advice that conflicted with what the Allstate lawyers were saying. She shared everything with this firm about her accident and everything we have concerning the other party. She gets a call the next day informing her that she had received a consultation from the same firm working the other side and that it is a conflict of interest!?! Either this was on purpose or gross negligence!

We are trying to get a status on a disability claim. A letter was written to the SSA office and they called and we found out that because we have moved we have to go back to the old address site and get them to transfer the claim. So far, things are moving forward.

I called to contact a lawyer to get a complaint letter for my boss who openly discussed a matter that created a hostile environment for me. I was later fired when I return to work, so the complaint was never completed. I let LegalShield know I was fired and they answered my question pertaining to unemployment. I think Legal Shield can assist once my EEOC intake is completed. I’m considering using your lawyer as a witness instead of representing me as they did not mention any abuse related to my firing. They did ask for proof that my boss targeted me in harassment which was provided and I have not heard back about that situation at all. But he did let me know how to apply for unemployment like I asked.

I received a good guidance and advice in regards to the last case I contacted PLS about. In general, I like this service. The only suggestion I would make is to be more specific about the timing when the attorney would get in touch with you because if you miss their call or even cannot answer it fast enough, they might hang up and then you don't know when they will call you again.

I'm not yet rich, so when I've needed legal help I immediately think of LegalShield. The promise and pitch sound great. However, I've noticed every single time I get in contract, I am frustrated. Even today: I was simply trying to sign up for a new account. I could barely get a word out. An upbeat and eager yet completely unprofessional representative constantly cut me off, kept talking over me, didn't understand my question. I struggled to get even basic questions answered. One experienced rep was helpful.
Then, after I signed up, there's an Error Screen that is confusing. The page says call a number. I call the number. This nervous and completely spaced out guy who sounds like he plays video games all day picks up the call and clearly has no idea of what I'm talking about, gives generic advice, is very unhelpful. I respectfully ask to speak to his supervisor. The level of fear and nervousness in his voice. He refused at every turn to let me speak to his supervisor.
I clearly told him in a calm voice repeatedly why I wanted this, and he kept resisting and giving me his options. I said, "That's fine, thanks for your personal best, please just forward me." This young man is paid to do his job and be on the phones all day, I'm not. I have to work to earn the money that pays him -- so please just forward me to your supervisor. Again, resistance, resistance, I'm now telling him I'm getting frustrated -- I know you can forward me, so PLEASE just forward me to your supervisor.
He then says he will "try to see if that's possible" and kept me on hold for maybe 15 minutes, I'm sure he had no intentions on passing me to anyone, he was just afraid of actually being held responsible for a bad job. It was really, really exasperating and genuinely disappointing and I question whether some of the other reviews here are real as I've just consistently had very mixed experiences and awful, really bad customer service experience. Since it is so consistent, so widespread over a period of time, I can only assume this lack of concern for the customer comes from the very top. Hope they improve.

Our issue was resolved. The attorney we dealt with was helpful and answered our questions clearly. He sent out the letter we needed in a timely manner. We received a response from the letter/email the next day and begin receiving the delinquent rent from our tenant immediately. The call center representatives were all very knowledgeable and helpful every time I called.

Evicted tenant vandalized property prior to departure. The insurance company refused claim against the $50,000 damage caused by evicted tenant. The attorney at McGuire reviewed the policy and concluded that there was little chance of success against the wording in the policy. He recommended not to pursue. I concurred.

Caution. ⚠️⚠️ The same lawyer will call you back and try hard to not help you. He'll give you basic information and you gotta tell him what he's supposed to say or what you looking for. The advice is basic information and they give you nothing more than what you expect and pay for. They pretend to not have many lawyers, so the same lawyer will give you bland basic information. It's like he's trying not to help as much as possible. It's never nothing they can do to help. I don't know if I want to renew my services. I'm looking into something else because this ain't it. It's a waste of 30 dollars a month. The library has more help than this and I'm talking the basic library. The law library really puts this place to shame.
The level of aggravation is a 10. Be prepared for disappointment. You won't get a different lawyer on the same case. I've tried because he seems aggravated with helping you. He'll ask for your information and send you an personal email or the wrong email just to take time away. I won my case on my own. I'm trying to collect and they can't give me any advice that is helpful. Just a bunch of guessing that you can do on your own. Fort Lauderdale is the worst place to need any kinda help. This is why I won the case on my own in the first place. You have a better chance of doing it yourself. Be careful being ** in fort Lauderdale FL. No one has your best interest.

I used Legal Shield FL, who uses DSK Lawfirm. I was served with a frivolous completely fabricated lawsuit which required an answer in 21 days from the day I was served. DSK told me they would not represent me because the date (the made up date) that the plaintiff claimed I committed the act on (that never happened) was before my Legal Shield membership. So, they told me they would refer me out to another firm. Obviously they were looking for any reason not to honor my membership.
So, then they said they would get me that referral within three days. After five days I called back and waited an hour to get someone on the phone. Finally, they said they would expedited the referral. Finally on the 17th day since I was served, I had not gotten the referral. When I called back and complained after another extremely long wait, they finally sent me the referral. The attorney they referred me to said there was not enough time left for him to help. So, I went back to DSK telling them what an emergency I had at hand, and they said they would have a lawyer call me back. Now, I am down to two days before a default on the lawsuit, and all I got from DSK was another referral to someone else via text. Now I am left to go to the courthouse tomorrow to try to do this myself. So glad I have a Legal Shield membership.

Pros: Longevity: I've been a member of LegalShield since 2010, benefiting from its services for quite some time, which speaks to its longevity and availability. Cons: Decline in Service Quality: Over the years, I've observed a noticeable decline in the quality of service provided by LegalShield. This deterioration has been concerning and disappointing.
Poor Customer Service: My experience with LegalShield's customer service has been nothing short of horrible. There's a distinct lack of professionalism and efficiency in how they handle customer interactions, leaving much to be desired. Rushed Lawyers: The lawyers provided through LegalShield often seem rushed and unwilling to dedicate adequate time and effort to assist with legal matters. This hurried approach undermines the effectiveness of the service.
Lack of Willingness to Help: There's a pervasive sense of reluctance among LegalShield's lawyers to genuinely help with legal needs. This unwillingness to assist has been frustrating and has greatly hindered my ability to resolve legal issues. Ineffective Handling of Legal Matters: On several occasions, LegalShield lawyers have failed to handle legal matters effectively. This includes instances where necessary actions weren't taken, resulting in miscommunications and unresolved issues.
Poor Quality of Legal Representation: Certain lawyers, like Alex **, have exhibited dismissive, impatient, and condescending behavior. This attitude significantly detracts from the overall experience and undermines confidence in LegalShield's legal representation. Lack of Value for Cost: Considering the numerous issues encountered and the perceived low quality of service, the monthly membership fee feels unjustified. There's a clear discrepancy between the cost of the service and the value it provides.
Overall Assessment: While LegalShield may have been a reliable option in the past, my recent experiences have been overwhelmingly negative. The decline in service quality, coupled with poor customer service, rushed legal assistance, and a lack of willingness to help, has left much to be desired. Additionally, encountering ineffective handling of legal matters, coupled with a poor quality of legal representation, further compounds the dissatisfaction. Ultimately, the lack of value for the cost of the service makes it difficult to justify continuing membership with LegalShield.

NOT GOOD! The attorneys are either borderline rude, in a rush, or just dismissive. The common denominator over almost every single one of my calls these past 4 or so years that I've paid for their services, is that the attorneys try to rush you off the phone as quickly as possible, and seem very irritated if you ask for anything except a generic "strongly worded letter" or something else that doesn't require any work or research.

So many say that Legal Shield is bad service. What many of you don't understand is that they are the payment plan, not the law firm. LegalShield provides a deal to make law firms affordable. What law firms do is not LegalShield actions. I live in Illinois and the law firm they use has great reviews. The reason why I can afford the law firm is because Legal Shield gave me (or us) the opportunity to provide lawyers at a small cost. Any time I try to use the service I pay for, I get days of phone tag and end up being referred to a real lawyer in my area instead…and I get to pay for that real lawyer of pocket. Or one time they helped with a simple uncontested name change…which took like a year and a half.

I had the service for years, so one star because they helped with a couple of small cases that I couldn’t get traction on myself. The last three issues were not resolved, but the most recent was the worst. I supplied all the info on what seemed like a ‘slam dunk’ case.. it had to be transferred to another state which took a little time, but was encouraged after speaking to attorney. She seemed like it was as good as handled. Then, nothing. I followed up, still nothing. Followed up again and was told that too much time had passed so would need to refile. It was on them that the time expired, but fine.. filed documents again. And nothing. Followed up, waited and nothing. Followed up again and finally said I would cancel if I’m not going to get any service. The response was a very nonchalant ‘Okay here’s how to cancel’. So I did. I was tired of the fight, along with the busyness of life.
But it clearly wasn’t right so after things settled I was on a quest to close loose ends, so I called to revisit the issue. After explaining it all, customer service rep quickly told me that they can’t help because I’m no longer a member but if I resubscribe, they will. I explained that the issue was over the course of four months and NOTHING was done, so what assurance do I have now that it will be? During some back & forth she told me that I should have escalated the issue by requesting some complaint form. That I should have asked to speak with someone of higher authority so they can look into it. So basically it was my fault because I didn’t follow protocol, of which I knew nothing about?
I explain again that I did all that I knew to do and was not given any options. She finally acknowledged that it should have been handled better on their side.Whew.. that was harder & took longer than it should have. So I said alright…given that, is there any customer courtesy/discount on rejoining? Nope. Full price and just trust that we will do what wasn’t done before. Where is the accountability?!
I asked to speak with someone of higher authority (which she just said I should have done before).. she said no, you won’t get any different answer, this is what it is. Wow. I told her this is exactly what happened before in that you’re at the mercy of whoever answers your call & how they choose to handle your issue. She repeated, as if she’s done with any discussion that I can move forward with my membership. So, where is the accountability?

I thought this was a good idea, I was wrong. The lawyer I spoke to was arrogant and didn't seem to want to help me. I just wanted them to write a letter to my employer because I thought it would help get my vacation pay. They wouldn't even do that. The Cleveland office does not return calls. At least in Columbus someone would call you. This was a waste of money plain and simple. Run from these people if you can!!!

I’m not one to just write a negative review but I see they actually respond to these. I signed up for LegalShield as I knew a lawsuit was coming from a previous landlord and needed advice. The lawyer was definitely not an expert in the space and suggested a response that made the lawsuit about $8K more (it pissed them off). When I asked the law firm for defense they said they didn’t have any available lawyers to help defend and couldn’t refer me. Needless to say, I am cancelled and am about to take on this lawsuit without legal representation. In theory this would seem like a great product. But it’s kind of hurt me.

The lawyer that I talked to lied to me and directed me to a totally wrong direction, that lawyer's intention was to complicate my case in order to have me forced to pay for a real lawyer to represent me, shameless unlawful behavior; preying on poor people struggling to get their rights, I learned my lesson the hard way, take my advice and thank me later: stay away from this service; you pay them money while they are only dedicated to make things worse for you in order to make you pay for a real lawyer to represent you.

For my last experience over the last 6 months for every question I had the lawyer kept saying that the matter was too complex. He failed to provide services by doing the necessary groundwork to answer. So when I complained they dropped me as a client to Legalshield after I have been a good withstanding member since 2015. They did not even tell me they dropped me as a member so I called to find out what happened after my associate whom is a friend said they would not look at my complaint and they just said we sent you a letter. Shocked by their actions. I lost my home to flooding and have been working against the city to recover it. I am without my home and this is what they go and do to you. I am trying to save my home and need legal help to do it.

Let me start by saying I've been in business for over 30 years and never in my life was I treated so unprofessionally. The lawyer assigned to me screamed, yelled and told me to shut up after less than 5 minutes on the call. I hired LegalShield for a personal legal matter regarding tenant/landlord situation. I had the call on speaker and it was witnessed by highly accomplished retired insurance adjuster who I was seeking helping me o on the matter. He was mortified at the unruly behavior and couldn't believe his ears. I called and reported it. The customer service person apologized for the attorney and said she would have a higher up call me back today. I'm still waiting and hope that I will receive that call. NO ONE should have to experience what I had to. It made me sick to my stomach.

I have had this product for 8 years. I got it for the business and me being the principal. Apparently I was wrong. It is only for the business and not the owner. I haven't had the need to use it until now as I am starting up another company and needed to change the company name. You can't do that even though the payment comes from the personal account and my DOB is on file and I am the actual customer. The customer service is not helpful either. You can't even cancel online or by phone. When I called to cancel, they answer the phone and say "sure I can help you with that" and then transfer you to pre recorded message giving you an email address and fax number. You can send in request by email or FAX. A Fax. Really?? 2023 here.. You also are responsible to make sure your policy got cancel . They can't guarantee that either. So it cost me $5000 K over 8 years to never use them. What a waste of money!

When through the hoops to cancel the service.. Their lazy lawyers who don't care about me or my issues and never fully helpful got enough of my money. Don't do it, it's too expensive and too useless. Check online yourself and find the answers.

These people seem to be under the impression that they are the client. Intake seemed intent on asking intrusive questions that about information they just didn't need to know for an initial consultation. Really a bad experience -- and I've worked with an hired many lawyers in my time. They also represented that there was a good deal more conditions to getting service than was represented when I forked over the initial fee. They are fortunate the amount was so small or I'd file a complaint with the bar association. That's how bad they are.

I have been paying Legal shield for a YEAR. I had a bad car accident in Dallas Texas in 2021, I was not the at fault driver I was actually in the passenger side and I suffered severe injuries. I contracted legal shield January of 2023 to help with my case. It’s October 2023 and NOTHING has been done. I have been referred to more than 7 attorneys. Everyone absolutely sucks at their jobs. I’ve been transferred to multiple managers, I have never experienced such a poorly ran company with the most disrespectful group of people. They are great talkers but horrible with actions. I have a deadline to do something about my case in November. That’s when I hit my two year mark. They have wasted my entire year, nothing has been resolved. Don’t ever waste your time energy and money on this scam company.
They’ve even referred me to attorney that no longer work at the law firm. I’ve been referred to attorneys that don’t ever pick up their phones. I’ve been referred to attorneys that don’t keep you updated. You have to constantly call and ask what’s going on. It’s a complete mess. I seriously can’t stress enough how stressful it’s been dealing with them. Save your money and invest it elsewhere. These people are the definition of liabilities. Worst company to exist.

I signed my wife and myself up to get help with forms such as a living will, personal will, things like that. Basically the help that is provided is they send you a blank form to fill out yourself. Same ones you can get free online many places. After the 1st year I cancelled the subscription. A few weeks later I was charged another $300 for another year. I emailed their customer service to get it resolved. Never heard back. Called them and was eventually told I would have to send the email to a different address which I did. Email bounced back as undeliverable. I used their "chat help" to make sure I had the correct email address.
Instead of letting me know if it was correct or not, they said they couldn't fine any record of the call, and if I wanted to cancel the service and get a refund I would have to call them. Finally got a human again who couldn't find my account at first. I eventually got the correct email to send the cancellation and refund request to. Still waiting to hear back.

I hired for help with a case regarding harassment. The lawyer who was supposed to help me I felt was unqualified and he gave no detailed explanation for why the opposing party releasing health records of mine isn't an example of harassment other than because it isn't. Additionally told me that saying that the opposing parties behavior has caused me mental health struggles is blaming the opposing party. Horrible experience. Would not recommend.

I was advised by a Legal Shield representative 13 years ago that they would represent my wife and I on legal criminal matters. As recently as 2 months ago when I was going to cancel, they told that we had over 600 hours of unused court time. This afternoon we submitted a request for service based on the information we received from them only to be told by their primary attorney represent and the company representative that they only covered us in traffic related matters or IRS issues and nothing else. This company is nothing but a bunch of liars and scammers who want your monthly dues and will get it at any cost. Steer clear of them because they have zero integrity and are only after your monthly dues.

I was so happy with my experience with Legal Shield. Got my will done, had an attorney review it (not complex), paid my fees and thought I might use them again, some day. Instead, they had signed me up for a subscription to use throughout the year, that I did not need. So advance one year and they charge me again....(I forgot about this "subscription"). So I called one day after the charge and much to my chagrin, they will not reverse the charge. IRON CLAD, NO WAY.
I asked them to provide me with the notifications that they send to remind their customers that they will be charging the card again. You know, the authorization for additional charges. Guess what? They don't have it as they claim, "You committed to the 'subscription' back when you needed it." So, as someone who cares about false charges, I write this review to prevent it from happening to you. Buyer Beware!
I asked the fellow on the phone (waited 48 minutes for them to answer) if I could speak to a supervisor. No. Flat no. "We don't have that here." So I asked again, "So your company happily charges for something I never wanted or ordered?" He replied, "You ordered this in 2020 and now you will have it until 2024." So scammy. I have disputed this charge with my bank as I never received any notification of charges and did not want the service.

The female operators who take the calls to refer the member to the right attorney are very rude. They ask way too many questions! Also, they record all phone calls, but will hang up if told they are being recorded! Damn hypocrites! Also, most of the so-called attorneys act as if they don’t want to do their job! Just poor customer service all the way around.

SHORT SUMMARY. My name is Fred ** and I am a disabled person covered under the American with Disabilities Act law. I have been a consumer of LegalShield for several years and I believe that the service is a must for disabled persons. Following my accident I became disabled and from time to time I would call on LegalShield for consultation and advocating on my behalf. Because of my long history of experience and my disability I asked questions to better understand what is being explained to me.
On one particular day I was speaking with an attorney regarding effective communication. This attorney told me if I wanted effective communication that I need to see a psychiatrist. When I asked her regarding audio-visual technologies she did not agree with the American with disabilities act laws that was provided to her from the NAD, the National Association Of The Deaf and Hard Of Hearing.
Shortly thereafter my conversation with this attorney my membership was canceled. When I questioned why my membership was canceled a letter was sent to me from LegalShield explaining why. When I tried to reactivate my membership recently online and it went through however I did not process, I contacted LegalShield for an explanation at that time. I was told that the company made a decision not to reinstate my membership for corporate reasons.
LegalShield also advertises that they represent the American with disabilities act and compliance, it is clear with my situation they have not. I am a disability advocate and from time to time I am an auxiliary aide companion to other persons who have disabilities. For the last several years LegalShield members would use me as their auxiliary companion for effective communication with LegalShield in which LegalShield allows me to effectively communicate on their behalf per the member's request for effective communication. I have reason to believe this is a direct conflict of what they're claiming why they canceled my membership. My question is how is it possible that I can't effectively communicate with LegalShield regarding my own issues however I can effectively communicate with them with other people's issues.
Also in a recent phone call I had with LegalShield through IP Relay and I questioned them regarding my concerns. I was transferred and then hung up on by IP relay which is illegal to hang up on a person that uses IP relay services. I also have requested to speak to LegalShield ADA compliance officer however I was informed that they did not have one.

The 24 hour service was the worst. Someone that was a member was detained. Attorney Ms. ** (name spelled wrong) for Maryland (I was told I couldn't get last names per rep) told me all that the HCSA was going to do and not provide the person that was detained no help or advice did not call HCSO or nothing. I asked what the point of the emergency hotline if they wasn't there to help. I said, "Thank you" and that was the end. I called back to see if I was able to get another attorney because I felt that Ms ** didn't have my best interest, the call rep checked w/ Ms ** (supervisor) to see if I could. She said no because I already spoke to Ms ** about the situation. I said I don't think she has my best interest and I ask to speak to Ms ** and I was told I couldn't.
So I said, "Well I will talk to Ms **" but she never answered the phone again. Hr later I called back it was a different call rep named Justin **. He judged the situation by the notes saying I refuse the attorney all because I asked to speak to a supervisor, told him I never refused the attorney. A question that I forgot to ask and if I had to speak to her I will. He go on talking about it's nothing more he can do.
I asked and felt so low to say, "Sir did I do something wrong or did I say anything wrong?" He said no, I told him it doesn't feel like it because I'm being treated and deny service and that this situation is an emergency and I'm getting the worst service. He apologized and continue to judge off his notes. I asked him what was his name, he said Justin **. I said, "I thought y'all couldn't give last names." He proceeded to be sarcastic and said, "Well I knew you was going to ask." I said, "You're right because I'm making a complaint." His whole tone got nice, he tried to fix the situation and I told him, "It's no need to help now because y'all made me feel worse" and I already was being denied the service and he was not helping.
I told him, "You're judging a situation off of notes and you're not a judge, you come and judging me thinking that you know what's going on and you don't" and I told him two times that I had a question that I needed answers to. He then try to apologize again processor I'm still making a complaint, have a good night and I hung up.
I never felt this bad in a long time on top of a bad situation. Sad part I recommend this service to someone and I pray to get a better experience than I did because now I know how to trust the firm that handles MD case so I think I'm going to cancel my membership. Also doing a complaint on all four of the people I talk to today, I did not get the first lady name, I did not get the first call representative but far as Ms **, Ms **, Mr Justin **. I will call the firm Monday morning to file a complaint, I feel like the situation would been handle well, if there was an attorney, go guide, call help in any way. Thanks for nothing LegalShield.

I’m not able to give LegalShield attorneys more than zero. My legal issues dissolve with legal aid advice and zero. I was waiting for 2 months to resolve my issues that it was very important and had health issues. Didn’t resolve with their attorneys but legal aid advice helped me free. If I know I wouldn’t waste my time and money.

I have had to deal with 2 different attorneys in regards to a suspended license matter. I was tricked into signing a contract. I was trying to ask about a civil suit in regards that & was hung up on by Lisa **. She hung up while she was talking. When I got her on the phone she just said all she could do was make reference. I paid $30 for them to read the paperwork I sent in (apparently). So unprofessional. They hire lawyers who wouldn't stand a chance in a real firm. This is my second time paying them. I had them once before. I was trying to give them a second chance. The whole point in using the service is because of lack of knowledge in regards to the law and they act as though they do not want to help you.

I have had LegalShield for approximately 5 years for both personal and business - roughly pay $70 a month. I have only used it twice for very minor things. A few days ago I called legal shield as I am a former police detective and martial artist. I read that the law on nunchucks was repealed in 2021 which I told the attorney. I wanted to know if it was legal to carry nunchucks concealed for self defense in CA. As crime is going wild in the area I live. I told the attorney that I am teaching a crime awareness class. She told me I cannot take the advice they give and teach a class with it because I am not an attorney. I said I know that. That is NOT the subject of my class as I am teaching a crime awareness class (all my brochures say I cannot give legal advice and to seek an attorney). She said she would get me some info in 3 days.
3 days later I received an e-mail showing me the legislature repealed the law on nunchucks in 2021. I called them back as THAT IS THE EXACT information I gave them! My question was can the nunchucks be carried legally concealed for self defense in CA. The attorney rudely said she would not give me that info as I am teaching a class and I cannot teach law. I said there is some mistake here....She quickly interrupted and said there is no mistake and that is all I am getting! As a former detective that dealt with organized crime defense attorneys I was surprised at the unprofessionalism here. She is supposed to be a real attorney. Needless to say, my account will be cancelled today. It is hard to believe they can be in business like this. I was a member for 5 years and never really used them. At least my eyes are open now - better late than never! Find a different provider.

One of customer service withdraw fee charges from my bank account after payment been paid one month. Now bank has charge bank account. That member shouldn't been add for additional fee. When I used the service, I was a previous customer; nothing was done—a total waste of money. I called to find out if they handle wrongful termination cases, but the rep wouldn't tell me unless I had a membership. I explained to her I previously had a membership, and they did nothing. All she could say was, "We'll, give a discount."
You may continue to use your provider lawyer for legal situations that extend beyond membership benefits. The additional services are 25% off the law firm's standard hourly rates. A retainer fee may be required to receive these additional services. The Provider Lawyer will go over these fees and let a member know when the 25% discount applies. I had an issue with Air Canada, and wanted a lawyer’s letter sent to the company because they were not responding to my emails. Lawyer ** told me LegalShield only sent letters in the United States. I told him Air Canada has a local office at Hartsfield Airport, he snappily told me, “I am closing your ticket. When you get an address you can call back.” As soon as I came off the phone, I Googled and found the address. He did not have to close the ticket. All he had to ask was for me to include the address with my supporting evidence. Yes, to me, his customer service sucks. He shut me down as soon as I began speaking.

I became a member when it was Prepaid now it's LegalShield but they use same law firm, It’s hard to get a hold of somebody the last time I was paying for a service on the lawyer didn’t contact me in a timely manner. I had an urgent matter that was time sensitive and they never contacted me yet on their side they say they did and I have proof they didn’t and that is the whole problem. I am merely asked for a credit to my account, and they canceled it instead when I have open matters, so this is just ridiculous and I paid for a service that they say that I have to pay for again. I would not recommend this place at all because they are not living up to what they say they will do.

I've been with LegalShield for six years and haven't used them, but was informed by their reps there that as a member I continued to accrue hours with an attorney. I had a legal situation from someone trying to collect money from me I didn't owe, and was referred to a LS attorney to deal with it. I was informed by LS that they would offer either a free consult, a written letter OR read a document (less than 15 pages!) in order to assist me. LS then made it sound like I was getting a great deal by informing me any further work from the attorney would be with a 25% discount!
The hours I was informed I had received were only good if the case went to trial! THIS IS A SCAM, AND YOU WILL GET VIRTUALLY NOTHING FOR THE MONEY YOU PAY. I have canceled my subscription with them as of today. In six years I have paid this company $1500 and today I learned it was a complete waste of time and money. To others reading this, I encourage you to go elsewhere for legal help. LegalShield is a joke.

I was promised a title/lien search by a customer service agent before I paid them. I paid the money. They had a lawyer call me to assist me and said, "I'm not a real estate lawyer but I have experience in real estate" then proceeded to look up the home I wanted to buy on the same internet search I did and told me that he couldn't access it because they require a fee then told me the email address to LegalShield's lawyer request service and again I asked him, "Ok so these are real estate lawyers they can look up if there is a lien correct?" And he said yep they can do all that.
After 3 days a real estate lawyer called me and said that legal shield does not offer lien and title searches and that I would have to hire an attorney in my county for that. So basically I was lied to and then paid 30 dollars to be told I need a lawyer which is why I came to them in the first place so I was completely robbed of my money and got nothing for it but lies. So for anyone who needs a buyer/seller contract to be reviewed by a lawyer and have a title/lien search please not LEGAL SHIELD DOES NOT COVER LIEN/TITLE SEARCHING.

What a scam! The law firm I was assigned to refused to provide assistance for a topic clearly covered in the contract. Nor would the law firm give me a referral to another, stating "we could give you a referral but choose not to. The law firms have sole discretion to decide if they will accept a client's questions and simply have to say "it's a matter of ethics" to avoid helping a paying client. My supposed "advocate" at LegalShield did nothing to help me. A complete waste of my time and money.

So useless. I've subscribed for over a year just to have a peace of mind but when I actually needed their help for a traffic issue, first the lawyers they hire is very impatient and a bit rude even. Also they are just NOT GOOD. They told me nothing can't be done for my ticket but I ended up looking for another lawyer locally and they easily helped resolved the ticket. AVOID AT ALL COST.

I can't speak highly enough about my experiences with Legal Shield. 1) I had a Home Warranty issue, and the company did not want to reimburse me for repairs they authorized. I contacted my lawyers, they wrote a letter, and within 30 days I had my refund. 2) I had a Tenant issue that failed to follow the court order to reimburse me fees. Unfortunately, the Tenants moved states. Legal Shield referred me to a lawyer in the other state. The situation would have cost me additional fees, to enforce the court order, so it wasn't cost-effective, but the two law firms were great. 3) My lawyers have given me great advice for my business. They have reviewed contracts with other companies and even corrected some documents from the other company. Oh, don't forget about writing your last will and testament, at NO ADDITIONAL COST.

They lied to me in the chat on the front page of their website saying they could help me, only to have the lawyer call same day and say that they in fact couldn't help me. They hide cancellation. You have to email (or write a letter) to cancel your account. I requested cancellation and a refund but only got the first... I hope. I plan to review this terrible lying scam site on every review platform that EXISTS.

1. Attorney called, which I missed. Did not leave message. I called back and put back in queue. 2. Talked with Phelps. Emailed info that day. Received confirmation they received information. 3 FIVE DAYS later I get text asking for information. Got confirmation and called to make sure. 4. He had to write short letter, about an hours work. 5. Called after waiting two weeks and was told I was in the queue, BUT there are a number I letters before mine. 6 contacted Legal Shield to assign another attorney or cancel account. THEY cancelled account. Do not do business with them!

I have been with LegalShield since it was Pre Paid Legal. Their tech services are ancient. The last couple times I've attempted to use forms downloads it did not work because it is outdated. I needed to update a rental agreement about six months ago and forms was out of date/commission (I ended up having to use some other forms downloading service). I attempted to download the pdf for estate planning and it will not work because it is out of date. With so many members paying monthly fees it's very frustrating you can't use the services when needed. I don't even use the service often but when I do I expect the very things I'm paying for to at least be up to date. The last time I was going through estate planning the same thing happened and LegalShield emailed me a form. Horrible tech game, smh.

The problem the lawyers are lazy and discriminate against women who call in. They wrote a letter on my behalf, but also called and sent a letter saying they didn’t represent me. The problem they was not willing to understand my issue and provide the correct lawyer for assistance. They sent me to workers' comp lawyer. He said it was not a workers' comp matter. Then they sent me to personal injury and he said he could not factor in all my issues with what he practice. When I initially called LegalShield about my issue I had to literally fight to be heard for I did have evidence. They refused to send letter, for they said I had to prove my sickness when I sent the doctor's note.
I had to ask for a supervisor. The problem they wasted all my time by not respecting me as a smart woman. They have attitudes, rude, and not willing to understand my issue before they steered me in the wrong way. Then tell me they can not refer me out again. When they referred me to wrong lawyer. Told me to call referral service or EEOC. They are offering wrong information cause they think I’m not smart enough to figure it out! But what I figured out is they are abusing their practice and taking my money.

LegalShield supposed to help you find an attorney and another state and they suggested this one attorney that stole $5,000 from me and then try to ask for a total of $16,000 for one mediation. Her name was Michelle **. She never gave me a written contract as LegalShield states that the attorney must give you a written contract between you and the attorney. When I had trouble with this attorney and I made complaints about her LegalShield never help me not one bit. They're like, "We don't get involved in with the attorney you have that we suggested. We don't get involved in that case." they didn't help me not one bit but made me file bankruptcy against this attorney.
I try to do arbitration against this attorney but because I highlighted the LegalShield document that we must have a written contract between each other she won that case? Why wouldn't LegalShield be a part of my arbitration to help me to let them know and confirm that you must have a written contract between me and the attorney! You pay this company to help you to get the right attorney but they did not. This person wasn't even a child support family attorney. They gave me some ** attorney that wasted time and my money and they should be sued and they didn't help me not one bit!!!

Don’t trust this cheating LegalShield stuff. I submitted my LegalShield membership application on April 21, 2023, and they took membership fees out of my credit card within minutes. Twenty minutes after submitting the membership application, I changed my mind and canceled my membership, and around one week after that they sent me an email saying they would process my request of cancellation (pretty slow response). So far after 5 weeks from the time when I submitted my cancellation request, they still haven’t refunded my membership fees yet though I called them three times to request the refund. It looks like they don’t want to refund my membership fees. It’s really bad to do that kind of dishonest business. Never, never trust them! They just want to cheat and steal your money.

I was a member of LegalShield services for about a year. I took the 6 month contract. They were so so, they did help me in about 3 cases, then I had 2 cases they threw to lawyers outside of legal shield, (that meant they didn't know what to do). Of the 6 or 7 attorney, 4 were very decent, 2 couldn't had care less, and one just seemed plain ignorant for an atty. to me. The receptionist service was something else, about 3 were good, the others seemed to me like gum-chewing bubble heads, bottom line here, there were times when I called and no one seemed to know what was going on with my case. But, like I mentioned in the beginning, it was so/so, meaning, there were good days and good attorneys.
However, my wife and me were in Hawaii when time to renew my membership pop up, when we came back, and I found out about it, I tried to renew it, yet I was met and treated as if I had walked out owing money to somebody, I was told that they were going to see if I was going to be allowed back, and this is when I paid for everything up to including their smiles. So I told them not to worry, that I would save them the trouble, and not to bother in taking the draft payment out of my account, because there weren't going to be any funds for their payment, that they were fired!. With these people you have to be perfect, you're not allowed to be human and forget anything, yet, when they do it, Hey, they are only humans. So I wouldn't recommend this outfit to anyone that is human and may forget something here and there, that's when they will find out this company's true colors. Thank you for reading my experience.

UPDATED 4/11/2023: This law firm assume and accepted my case, which was clearly personal injury case for a landlord and tenant case. Their lawyers, in-turned filed my petition using a legal claim that ensure I lose the case, meanwhile the law firm would get rich charging me hourly fees. Which I had paid a total of $2,400.00, for them to intentional lose my case. I'm on a fix income and cannot afford to give away, this kind of money. Which it seem I did with this law firm. Meanwhile the opposing counsel planned to go to trial, their fee could have easily went into the 10's of thousand of dollar, which I would have paid unknowingly.
This law firm seem to be set up to exploit defendants --- not fight for plaintiffs-which I fired them to do in my situation. After seeking new counsel for reveal this hoax, they refuse to refund my fees paid and continued billing me for services after they withdrew. I am forced to dismissed my case and can not refiled to collect any reimbursement on cost and other health damages. I shocked and disappointed to see that there is greedy law firm out here that would do this to their claims and there seem to be no recourse for the client other than writing a review.

I submitted a case/intake with all the details on their website and asked a very specific question related to a contract on a Monday morning. I needed the answer the same week, latest by Friday of that week because of a time constraint I had. An attorney called me Monday evening, I explained everything to her including the time constraint I had. She said she would like to review the entire contract. So, I sent that in the email as instructed by her. I also uploaded it on their website.
On Tuesday, I got an email saying they are not able to open the "links" because of security and I should share the actual PDFs. I replied saying I have shared the actual PDFs only, not the links. I also suggested taking it from LegalShield's website if email is not working for them. I then called the Law Firm's office, the customer rep there was not helpful at all. She just asked to send the file again in the email. I didn't know how it would resolve the issue, but I sent the contract again in the email anyway.
It is Sunday today and I haven't heard back from them at all after that. I sent a follow up on Friday asking if they were able to access the contract, and if not, can they reply to the specific question I had asked originally at least, but no response!. It's one thing to not do the job, but completely ignoring the customer is unacceptable!.
When I go to the LegalShield website now, I don't even see my case/intake there anymore, it has just vanished. So it looks like I have been completely ghosted. I called the Legal Shield's customer care on Friday to cancel my monthly subscription and explained the situation to the rep. She asked if I want to raise a complaint through which the attorney will then surely contact me, but it will not be on Friday. I refused as it would have been useless for me. I've not faced such a pathetic service (or lack thereof) in a long time.! I was able to get the response in less than 12 hours on free websites like Avvo, Lawguru for free! What a waste of money and time!

I contacted Deming Parker about a consumer issue in 2018. They wrote a dispute letter....six months late. However, I'm now currently being sued (defendant) for those false charges in a case for money owed. Deming wants a $600 retainer to defend me in court. I have defensive services with almost 300 hours of trial hours and 5 hours pretrial. Aside from the prior dispute which was ignored, these charges have reached statute of limitations. This is only a portion of the problems I have had with this service. I have been in a loophole with resolutions department for a year. I rarely can get to lawyers to properly use my legal services. They rarely return my calls appropriately...sometimes late in the evening...or days later...or never at all. I've asked for a lawyer that doesn't charge a retainer for defensive services....as they advertise. It's been more than six months; they just ignore me and won't budge. Is there any talks of class action?

Updated on 03/13/2023: Being on a phone hold for 20 minutes, an EXCALATION SPECIALIST, SELINA, came on the line, and said the SAME THING. 'LEGALSHIELD (per contract) can cancel anyone's membership for reasons only they know and cannot disclose... or for no reason at all'. She said she could send me a copy of the contract. From this point on, I don't believe I will be signing my name to anything...maybe my tax return...that's it. This continues to be amusing to me, and the people who get a salary at LEGALSHIELD must be so embarrassed when speaking with customers who have legitimate complaints...that... THAT'S THE WAY IT GOES. GOOD RIDDANCE TO LEGALSHIELD AND YOUR 'REPRESENTATIVES'.
Original Review: I have been a Legal Shield member for 11 years, paying $32 a month...that comes to roughly $4,000.00. I rarely have used their service, and have asked & gotten 2 demand letters written in 11 years. My last inquiry never received a call back, as the usual protocol is a 'lawyer' calls within 24 hours to discuss your issue. Recently in February 2023, I received a letter advising me that my 'MEMBERSHIP HAS BEEN CANCELLED' with no explanation or signature of whoever wrote the letter. I called headquarters in Oklahoma, and was told to call my local law firm associated with LS, RIGGS, ABNEY, NEAL, TURPIN in Denver, Colorado to find out the reason.
I was given the answer... "Management has made the decision to cancel your membership, and we are not allowed to disclose the reason for opting you out." After trying calling 'corporate' again, I got a rude, surly male agent who hung up on me because I asked to speak to his supervisor. My monthly payments were auto-withdrawal, so payments were never missed. To this day, I still don't know why I was cancelled. Guessing 'all things happen for a reason', this must be a sign....guess they didn't want my $32 a month.
Legal Shield has low creditability according to members' reviews... 2 stars. I see in CONSUMER AFFAIRS that LS responds to reviews saying they will 'look into the matter and get a resolve'. I will be anxious to read their reply to find out why, mysteriously, I was cancelled. My recruiter was no help, either....he tried calling corporate on my behalf, but couldn't get an answer. He told me they told him for me to call the local firm for the reason. Playing 'PASS THE BUCK' is not my idea of Customer Service @ corporate headquarters not responding to a legit question.

Competition exists, and the company I chose for protection for identity theft has 4 stars, and a good rating with BBB unlike Legal Shield....a company not respected enough to get only 2 stars from disappointed members. I feel there may be a possibility their 'lawyers'... as well as the Customer Service agents I spoke with, could be failures who weren't able to get a better job, and ended up with Legal Shield. I guess 'GOOD RIDDANCE' to Legal Shield, too!!

Though it is rare, there are some reasons a membership may be canceled per company option, whether by PPLSI or a PPLSI Provider Law Firm. This information can be found in any membership contract as well as online at: http://contracts.legalshield.com/contracts/LSESSOK.821.pdf. When a membership is canceled per company option, PPLSI notifies the member by a dated and signed letter, explaining the matter, and advising if any refund will be processed. If the Company cancels the Contract, Services will only be provided for those events reported in writing to the Provider Law Firm during the Eligibility Period. As a mission-based company dedicated to protecting and empowering people with the tools and services needed to affordably live a just and secure life, this option is not taken lightly and is only implemented when necessary.

They took money without talking on the phone. Lawyer provided with options and said I would be contacted within 48 hours. When 2 weeks passed I contacted to get an update and this time I stated I wanted account cancelled. Come Mar 1, 4 months after I found they had still been taking money. There was no follow up by the company to see if I had been contacted or why I was cancelling. So to me they were stealing funds without saying a word. Today when I called the first lady did not want to speak to me, so she sent me to a new lady and now it's all done by email. Me calling to cancel and verifying who I was. Apparently is not a verified way, but an email from an address saying cancel is a great way to get 4 months free money. I can see how they have a rating of 2.

I have been a LegalShield member for around 5 years. I used them to file for divorce which went smoothly. However when I needed additional legal services, the company failed to deliver. Recently I needed document review (something they tout they can do) but it turns out only certain documents can be reviewed. I needed to file contempt of court on someone and they told me they cannot review legal documents related to petitions, complaints, or requests for motion…they wanted me to hire a lawyer for their discounted rate (2500 mind you).
At best this company is a referral service to get you a whopping 25% discount on hiring a lawyer. They really need to educate their reps better because after they said I could not have my documents reviewed I called to cancel my membership and the rep I spoke to told me they could in fact look at documents and referred me back to my law firm. So they called and told me again they can’t look at my documents but they’d be happy to refer me to a lawyer who will charge me 2500 to file 6 pieces of paperwork. All in all I would not recommend. You don’t need a middle man to find a lawyer, you can Google, call around and find a lawyer for the same price that their ‘discount’ provides. I’m so disappointed I’ve wasted so much money on a service that ended up being useless.

So far, it's a scam. I signed up last Tuesday and have yet to speak to an attorney. In one week, I wrote my own case, studied the laws and am fully knowledgeable on how to file a civil law suit. If you wait you will lose your case. DO NOT PAY THEM A DIME. .DO YOUR OWN WORK, get a local lawyer.

This CO (Consumer Affairs) did not approve my 1st TRUTHFUL NEG REVIEW of LS. EVEN though I didn’t break any of their “guidelines.” I wonder why? Is there some connections between these 2 entities? Will they approve this one? LEGAL SHIELD IS A SCAM. They state you will get an attorney to given you a consult even with an existing case. ETC, ETC, ETC. The firm they TOLD me to call has a 3 star rating on Yelp.
Their reviews are worse on Google reviews. HORRID reviews. They called me back, told me to send docs. They did not read them, nor give me a consult. Instead said they would refer me to an attorney for “25%” off. (Right) They said they do not do consultations yet when I read to them what it says on LS’s site. They began to back peddle yet bottom line they refused to do a consult. This whole set up is a scam. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY. I would give name of the low level badly reviewed law firm they sent me to yet this CO. will mostly likely reject my review. Due to being too transparent and honest.

I've used LegalShield twice now. I was not impressed either time. However, the most recent time, I was left frustrated. I signed up to get some estate planning in order. I originally wanted to a Revocable Living Trust and was swayed into not getting one by the attorney (which I now regret). In any case, I set up the other forms. I, then, wanted to get a beneficiary deed because I did not get the RLT. The beneficiary deed would cancel out the need for an RLT in regards to my personal residence. I called and opened a file on 12/5/22. They referred me to a "referral attorney". The referral attorney office called me the same day and told me that the attorney would contact me soon. I hear nothing. I call on 12/15 to follow up. They tell me she'll call.
I call LegalShield to cancel my membership because at this point, I am not paying for another month to just sit there and wait on this attorney. They say "oh we can escalate your case and pause your membership". So, I say okay. They escalate the case and the referral attorney's OFFICE calls me the next day. The woman tells me she got the escalation. Asks me for my information, is rude, abrupt, and interrupts me. Tells me the attorney will call me. YOU GUESSED IT: She never calls me. So, I call Legal Shield to confirm that my membership is cancelled and not just paused. They inform me I have to let them know in writing. Of course, another thing. So, I write in and I do not hear back. I call back a few days later and they tell me it's cancelled-thanks for the call/email back.
While on the phone, I request a refund because I spent the better part of the last month I paid for WAITING for the referral attorney to call me. I'm told I have to send an email in writing- of course. I send in an email on 12/29. It's 1/17/23. Never heard from them. So, I call in on 1/17/23. The lady says "Oh yes we've received it and they've decided we do not owe you a refund." I ask to escalate it to a manager or someone and she says "no, you can't". This is ridiculous in my opinion. I am asking for a measly $29.99 back because your attorney's/partners failed to call me back within a reasonable time and you make me jump through hoops to do anything, never write/call back, and then deny me to even talk to anyone except the gate keeper. I need more legal assistance, but it's safe to say I will try my darn hardest to AVOID legal shield. All over $30. Sad.

I’ve had legal shield for more than 15 years and have not needed assistance until recently. I have medical and financial power of attorney for my elderly parents. I was looking for elder care advice. Legal shield would not help me unless I signed my parents up and paid for their premiums. I was looking for some advice on first steps as a membership benefit and fully anticipated that I was going to need to hire an attorney for the following steps. No dice. Thousands of dollars I’ve spent on this membership and when you need it, no help. Waste of money.

Membership ID: **. I paid for Legal Shield back in July when I found out my association was trying to foreclose on a co-op I bought with back association fees. Legal shield referred me to a law firm. That law firm sent me to a referral attorney. The referral attorney recommended I file a chapter 13 bankruptcy to protect both co-ops I owned and set up an appointment on 8/2. 8/1 I completed the counseling. 8/2 I received a cash offer on one of the co-ops prior to my appointment with the referral attorney. I notified the attorney and asked if I should even come because I would pay the arrearage with the sale of the co-op and avoid filing bankruptcy. He never responded so out of respect for his time and mine I kept my appointment.
At the appointment he told my husband and I it was best to file and I could cancel the bankruptcy at any time. I signed and paid the retainer of 313.00 and spent an hour and a half in his office with the paperwork he told me to bring. On 8/4 I asked the referral attorney if he could negotiate a deal to drop the foreclosure with my associations attorneys which he agreed to do but for a 2500.00 retainer fee and that he would hold off and not proceed with any further work on the chapter 13 bankruptcy until further notice. I did not have 2500.00 to pay him so I spoke with the association attorneys myself.
The referral attorney stated that if I wasn’t continuing with the bankruptcy or paying the additional retainer that he cannot recover his fees and sent me an itemized bill for his time for about 2200. I made a complaint with the law firm who referred me to which they told him to give me a 25% discount per their program guidelines and he resent a bill for 1700.00. However, I paid a retainer of 313.00 to represent me at the confirmation hearing which never happened because he never filed the bankruptcy nor did I sign the retainer for 2500 for him to speak with my association. The 25% would have been taken off of the initial retainer fee that was paid to him in his office but did not happen. The law firm stated that they didn’t understand why I would still owe if the bankruptcy had never been filed but they do not get involved with disputes like this and wished me luck on resolving the matter on my own.
There was never any verbiage in the referral attorneys initial retainer agreement that stated that if I did cancel the bankruptcy that I would be responsible for the full amount as if I had actually filed. Now the referral attorney is attempting to have me served for an outstanding bill that I don’t even owe. I contacted the law firm that legal shield set me to for a referral attorney to handle the matter in which they told me “per legal shield their hands are tied and cannot represent me in this matter.” I have contacted legal shield and asked them why am I not being covered which they sent me information as to why.
My issue is why legal shield hasn’t attempted to reach out to their affiliate to ask him why he’s trying to get over on their member? The attorney did not provide me with a discount which he was told I qualified for nor did he return my retainer after he held off on filing because he wanted me to sign an additional retainer agreement for 2500.00. Legal shield does not fight for its member but believes the affiliates only without any further information and that is not a company I will ever continue to use and I don’t recommend anyone to use them either. It was a complete waste of money and time.

Updated on 12/16/2022: As a response to my review Legal Shield offered to contact their customer support. I did contacted your customer support 5 times, I did give you the proof (emails and docs) that Legal Shield gave false and unprofessional advice and all I asked was the refund for 3 month as excuse for wasting my time by giving false information to the customer. Your response from supervisor was: “it’s our decision and we won’t refund you anything”. They didn’t even apologize for providing legally inaccurate information.
Original Review: I’ve proceeded with 2 cases and LegalShield Canada gave the false information for both of them. If we would proceed with their advice we would definitely lost. After my own research we got the way to win both cases. Legal Shield refused to take any responsibility and refused to refund money for bad service. They have been really good couple years ago however not any longer.

I have contacted the law firm on dozens of occasions to get advice and have spoken to a wide variety of attorneys on many different subjects. Their response has been courteous, they have called me back promptly and offered great solutions. They have written letters and reviewed contracts for me. The letters especially have helped get money back in situations I thought were hopeless. It is nice to know that I have these lawyers looking out for my best interests!

LegalShield is a great company for people that have legal issues or would just like to have thing your will and other legal matters. My husband and I have been a part of Legalshield for 9+ years and we have been pleased with their services. One instance is we had just bought a van and the dealership was taking forever to get us our permanent tag and my husband got tired of waiting and contacted LegalShield. In 4hrs. we had an attorney calling asking what we wanted done. They wrote a letter on our behalf to the dealership and 24-48 hours we had our tags plus about $270 back for the taxes we paid for the van.

Using the service for the past 24 years and over 400 times, my overall customer experience is roughly 70% positive, though not great. This relates to the help and guidance from the law firms but excludes customer service. I feel customer service used to be consistently and predictably wonderful, with alert, knowledgeable, and competent CSRs. However, I recently called in with a simple question, spoke with three different CSRs and got three different and contradictory answers. This frustrating experience has become so common over the past few years, it pains me to call in about anything, not knowing if I'll get a real answer, let alone an accurate one. Regardless, and in spite of what feels like a growing number of challenges at the corp level, it's still better to have the service than not to.

I call LegalShield in Nov of 2021. They sent me to Davis Miles Mcgurie and Gardne in Arizona. These lawyers lied to me and did not do as I ask and hired them to do this went on for 7 months. Their lawyers legal shield sent me to lied and deceived me. Yes I know legal shield wants everyone to believe that the customer is the stupid one. But don't expect to get a refund or any satisfaction because no matter what legal shield does not care and they will tell you how stupid you are for trying and they know they can get away with it because the state bar of Arizona will always say the cheating lying lawyer is right and the client is always going to be wrong. I have been a client for more than 20 years, nor did I use (luckily) the service. I needed to make and legalize my will and it is impossible to do it. They do not answer the phone and the only time I managed to communicate, They gave me bad information. Not recommendable.

It's not a fun situation when you need to call lawyers. LegalShield brings an already very frustrated legal situation to the next level. My previous workplace used to have a legal plan program, I thought LegalShield will be similar... Completely wrong. First of all, the 4 hours return call is always a joke. Lawyers usually don't return call within that time frame. If you urgently need their advice/action, and you need your home attorney office for referral to another state's lawyer, expect days of wait and you will have to keep following up and see why no one call you back.
Secondly, LegalShield don't seem to vet their attorneys. They sent me to an unethical lawyer and apparently there is no standard/rules to adhere to be LegalShield's network attorney. Long story short, the lawyer did not do what I retained him for, and he did not show up at the court date and a flat rate fee of $7400 turned into endless extortion. I paid $15k legal fees, a simple non-juridical issue is not resolved and damaged so badly, worst than before I retained him.
I understand there are bad apples and I also know this review is for LegalShield not for the unethical lawyer. You would think LegalShield will have their members' back. No, they don't. Many calls to LegalShield's home law firm, their referral department, their customer resolutions. Either they don't return calls, or "Sorry, we can't help". Most of the time, they don't even want to hear the story and interrupt and said "we can't help". Sometimes, I think they make it worse.
When they look into problems, instead of asking their client first, they asked the lawyer first. They allowed the lawyer to submit their evidence, but refused me to submit mine. This shows how much they "care" about you, LegalShield members. To summarize, I paid $50/month for LegalShield's service so they can refer someone to rob myself. When reported to LegalShield, there is nothing they can do about it.

I joined Legal Shield because like many hard-working Americans I was enticed by the idea that I could have an attorney to work my case without paying upfront legal fees that can be expensive. The first time I dealt with them, it was an unemployment case during the pandemic and was lucky enough to get a very good lawyer who resolved my case so that I stopped getting the run-around and received my benefits.
I've had some letters written, but had to work hard to get my point across as the attorneys were hard-pressed to 1. believe me though I presented viable information that I did not owe the creditors in question 2. had to repeatedly stay on top of the lawyer to ensure that they actually sent letters as there were times when 3. they would BLAME ME for not sending the required documentation when it's done electronically and THERE IS A DIGITAL FOOTPRINT.
The last situation took the cake! I was working for a large employer here in Georgia and had some issues with blatant discrimination and retaliatory behavior. When I finally received a call from the lawyer, she was silent, barely spoke, never asked for details in the case, and stated "...well...you still work there..." as if to say "what you are complaining about? so what if you're being discriminated against...you should be grateful to have a job and that they haven't fired you.." It was disgusting and unconscionable!
Oh but it gets better, she called the company in question to tell them that I was going to file an EEOC complaint amongst other things! How do I know? Well, they called me into a meeting and told me the same thing that she told me, "Well, at least you still work here!...Why would you file a complaint?" Gee, thanks cut-throat second-rate "lawyer". Most of their attorneys seem to not be very good and have dismissed that they are supposed to represent THEIR CLIENT (NOT THE DEFENDANT) WITH ZEAL! This is just a paycheck.

The next time LegalShield sent the "final" letter for review, it was NOT MY CASE. They sent me the wrong letter containing detailed information of another's case!! I informed them of their mistake, but received no acknowledgment other than a form email with my final letter attached...still with mistakes. I'm quite certain I will not win this case now.

LegalShield recommended a real estate lawyer whom I contracted with to represent me in a battle over deed restrictions. Lawyer wanted a 10k retention fee. Trusting Legal Shield’s recommended, I paid the fee. It has been three years and lawyer has done NOTHING. I called and visited the lawyer many times, emailed many times. Each visit, each phone call, each email was the same, “Working on it.” Three years!!!! Lawyer isn’t working on anything. I don’t recommend Legal Shield. Lawyers will take your fees, do nothing and live lavish lifestyles on YOUR money.

I was introduced by a person I knew from real estate who invited me to a Zoom where I heard a testimony of a man that made millions but before was broke and it spoke to me so I signed up. I went on to sign up 6 associates in a month and 3 cancelled due to negative sentiments about the company. I was owed $1600+ with commission and bonuses but they did not pay me because and paused my application because I offended a woman in their application review department that thought I was signing people up and lying to them. I signed up Christians that I knew and I did have a record 21 years ago but signed up three times for LegalShield in the past 10 years and it was never an issue until now when they owe me nearly 2k.
I submitted everything they asked me to and they still denied my application and I was completely righteous in all my dealing with them and did things by the book. The experience was terrible, on the very day I was to get paid they placed me on hold then held me hostage for 3 plus weeks dragging their feet on a closed case from 2001. I would avoid them at all costs as far as a business opportunity goes. They will charge back anything that doesn't stay on the books a full year and not all do. **

I keep receiving emails from a previous job search account on CareerBuilder from ** entitled "Important Information Regarding Your Resume on CareerBuilder", claiming to represent LegalShield. I have absolutely no matching skills for this type of job (nor any desire to work for them), so I assume they just flood everyone to see what happens. I've asked her to stop, yet the emails keep coming. Going to block them now, but it gives me the feeling that LegalShield and its reps are not on the level. Not a good view of LegalShield or CareerBuilder for allowing this type of garbage to continue.

Poor Customer Service. One attorney commented that they have been coddled. The attorneys don’t seem to be educated or experienced in their scope. Several of my issues were not remedied. They can care less about people's issues. Many services promised but not delivered.

LegalShield is very unprofessional and potentially dangerous to third parties, this company does not screen who signs up for their services, my granddaughter's father doesn’t have visitation rights to see her and it’s court ordered, Legal Shield allowed a third party that is not the parent to try to retain services pretending to be my granddaughter's mother and somehow the lawyers partnered they acquired addresses that the father wasn’t supposed to have and gave it to him and the third party putting other's safety at risk. The lack of accountability of the company is unprofessional, our lawyers tried to call legal shield and their partners attorney and we have not got a response, they give the run around along with a nasty attitude. We had to file a police report against the third party who retained Legal Shield's services claiming to be my granddaughter's mother, this company has a poor reputation, if you are dealing with this company be careful.

Prior to the "Great Pandemic" I had built up a company I had started in 2007 and we were making money in construction. By the end of 2021 it was obvious things weren't getting better anytime soon. Between customers failing to pay, investment capital holding up new projects, and supply chain issues driving up the cost of materials, I was in way over my head. After spending an entire year just paying the interest on personal debt I finally joined LegalShield and had a conversation with Randy ** in the Tacoma office.
Randy was patient and listened intently as we went through all the different facets. Initially he advised me against going through with it due to various reasons. Since there was a slim chance things could work out. He pointed out some indicators to watch for as time went on. Six months later events caused the indicators to manifest, and when I contacted him again to explain, he agreed to proceed. They sent some questionnaires and after I filled them out Randy and I spoke several times and at great length. His paralegal, Amy, is a living angel. There were a total of 56 pages in the final Chapter 7 filing. I was amazed at her friendly and supportive help getting through some of the sections, and the huge amount of work sorting everything out into the correct category.
Randy was very informative, taking the time to make sure I understood my exact standing, what to expect, and a very honest view of what the most probable outcome would be for me. The key is honesty. If you are straightforward with them, they will be the same. Don't try to hide anything, they are not there to judge you, they are only interested in helping.
My bankruptcy was filed 12/31/2021 and discharged in May of 2022. Is it painless? No, there are rules, and you just can't cheat. But I can promise that if you are lucky enough to wind up with Randy ** as your attorney the process will be surprisingly low stress, and that 10 ton weight that's been crushing you will suddenly be gone. It will then be up to you to build your new life without feeling like you're drowning in debt every day. I've never left a review like this for anyone before, but then, no one has ever earned my admiration like the Randy and Amy team at Legal Shield, Tacoma.

If they can’t understand handling of my personal info, how much more poorly will they handle your legal needs? I decided to cancel service after finding the website advertised any subject outside your plan, you get 25% discount. What I got: the actual contract distinguished personal and business (the website does not). Suddenly my costs doubled just to have a simple, small business form made. They have no interest keeping your data secure in any reasonable manner. Their website design and data management is so substandard to the point a young kid could design it, and in fact some of the worst I’ve seen in my 25 yrs in the industry. They don’t offer any form of double authentication. When I call, they say they removed the credit card info - but it’s only when I say “but I’m logged in and see it” they finally distinguish it’s from their internal system and not my profile (yet the whole time I was very specific I wanted my profile info deleted).
I asked by email, with my cancel request, to delete my login, profile and credit card info. It’s been 6 weeks and I’ve received one email saying “we received your request”. No confirmation yet, of actual cancellation of the plan nor my data purge request. I can still log in, still see my credit card info and profile. It still shows my plan listed.

I submitted a document I needed to sign through the LegalShield app. and requested that a Lawyer review it for any red flags. A Lawyer called me and assured me there was nothing of concern in the document but also made sure I understood everything it said and any possible consequences of my signing it. This was way easier than my reading it and attempting to understand all the legal jargon in the document... and it did not cost any extra beyond the low monthly subscription fee.

I am a military veteran. I have paid for Legal Shield membership for over 10 years, the one time that I needed my services for a tax suit the attorneys I was forced to use, Riling, Burkhead and Nitcher in Kansas, refused to send my Missouri case to Dubail Judge in MO, where I used to reside which is where trial would also take place, not Kansas. As a veteran I also called in to have them work another case which was a veteran matter, and for a second time I was given the lowest rate lawyer service I could imagine. When the attorney called me on that matter he stated he couldn't even remember where he read part of the law he was quoting to me as legal advice. This was the managing partner of that firm. How can anyone expect the legal advice they get as sound advice when the attorney can't remember where he read something he's advising you on?
Now further into my case, when I filed a complaint with Legal Shield corporate they sided with the law firm, further to that, when I stated if they would not review the actions they took not following Legal Shield Procedure for referral on out of state cases, I would get my money back that I paid in. I filed a my complaint because the advice that the Kansas Firm gave me, was incorrect and misleading, they wanted the case off their book to just get paid is how it seemed to me. Because I had to learn of the procedure form the opposing counsel and judge, not the attorneys who were supposed to be advising me.
If they would have sent me to the lawyers I had requested and should have been sent to, the advice and counsel I would have received would have been better. But instead, Legal Shield Cancelled my membership stating "Company Decision", no one called me, emailed me, not to mention this was directly after the Lawyer Mike Riling, said he would call me back on Thursday with an update to the law he couldn't remember that he had just read, when in reality they worked with Legal Shield on Wednesday to cancel my membership.
So I had 300 hours of trial defense, gone, no refund, I have two legal matters that I now have to hire other attorneys for all because I put my trust in Legal Shield to be there when I needed it. But when I threatened to use my membership which I was actively trying to save for issues like this, they cancel it because of what? Because I threatened to give you legal matters, especially a Veteran issue?! Yet cancel a member after over a decade of paying for your services and then be told, sucks to be YOU!
That is my experience with Legal Shield and Riling, Burkhead and Nitcher in Kansas, Legal Shield refuses to tell me the reason for cancellation, refuses to refund me, refuses to respond, and refuses to respond to the BBB. That is the company I paid money to for over a decade. I strongly urge anyone to consider any other service or firms before putting your faith in this company that they will be there when you need them.

The LegalShield subscription model is based on a provider law firm network and schedule of benefits within our legal service plan contract. We have a process in place to ensure that members have access to lawyers that are competent and experienced in the area of law needed as well as licensed appropriately. Our system does not allow for "Attorney-of-choice". We also strictly adhere to our contracted schedule of benefits. Services outside of the schedule of benefits are typically available at a reduced hourly rate.
In regard to the status of your membership, though it is rare, there are some reasons a membership may be canceled per company option, whether by PPLSI or a PPLSI Provider Law Firm. This information can be located in any membership contract as well as online at: http://contracts.legalshield.com/contracts/LSESSOK.821.pdf. When a membership is canceled per company option, PPLSI notifies the member by a dated and signed letter, explaining the matter and advising if any refund will be processed. If the Company cancels the Contract, Services will only be provided for those events reported in writing to the Provider Law Firm during the Eligibility Period. At the recommendation of the provider, I was switched to a personal package that I was told included trial defense from a business package that also had trial defense. I was sued by a renter and was told I had coverage by the LegalShield provider. Then I was told I didn't have coverage followed by I had coverage then finally I didn't have coverage. Meanwhile the Minneapolis affiliate told me they filed a counterclaim. After he quit I found out he did not. My claim was not tossed. I have since requested legal consults and it's been 2 days with no call back from LegalShield. My account is in good standing. This was a 900.00 claim. Managing LegalShield was more cost than the actual loss. Complaint on file at MN AG and MN bar. I will update this as it unfolds.

I signed up for Legalshield November 23, 2021. I attempted to use the service multiple times. The Attorneys sometimes responded but never followed up. Cancelling the service is HELL! When I tried to cancel my (worst experience of my life). The customer service agent began reading a 15 minute script (it's rude) explaining everything I was "losing". I asked multiple time, "please stop reading the script and cancel my subscription". He refused to stop. This lasted 15 minutes. Then after being on the phone with multiple people, one who just put me through to a recording of their cancellation policy.
Per the recording I had to "send an email, with my membership number and the word 'cancel'". I sent the email April 15th, only to receive an email stating the following: "You’ve Successfully Activated Your Account!" I checked my credit card statement April 29th and they're still charging me. Does anyone know how to read their code and stop them from taking your money?

I subscribed for their service ($29.95 per month) and at first it seem great. But as time passed and I needed them again (now I prepaid 6 months in advance) they assigned me to Davis Miles McGuire (DMG) in Tempe, AZ. I needed help with a major tax question. I called DMG and after speaking to an attorney (no cost for this call) from their office I was referred me to another attorney, Elliott **. I made an appt with Elliott ($195.00). After consulting with Elliott, he was going to charge me another $2500 to research my tax needs and to provide CPA. Well, that went nowhere. I never heard from Elliott again. I attempted on three different dates to contact him and left messages to call me. He never did.
I called LegalShield and they said is not their problem. They have no control over the attorneys. They just collect their fee ($29.95 per month) and clients are on their own! I called the State of AZ Bar Association (Mr. **) and they said they could not force Elliott to respond. However, Mr. ** did contact Elliott and Elliott said, "Oh, I can not help him". After months of waiting this is all he has to say? I called DMG and they refused to refund my $195. I called LegalShield and they refused to offer full refund. DMG claims that they are "The Only Law Firm You Will Ever Need". This is a bunch of **. I found out the Elliott IS NOT WITH THEIR LAW FIRM. You should stay away from, LegalShield, DMG, and Elliott **. They take your money at every level and then refuse to help you.

On 09/23/2021 I hired legal for a small one time case. I made all necessary arrangements on the phone with their rep Cordero who was also was my single point of contact. On 07/04/2022 I discovered that LegalShield had been taking $53.85 from my bank account unauthorized every month since 10/23/2021 thru 03/23/2022.. As soon as I realized what was going on I called Cordero to see what happened, he expressed that was not supposed to have happened and he would take of it by getting my money back into my bank account.
After Calling Cordero the second time he blocked my number, I called him from a different number and he picked right up, I asked him to please unblock my number, he told me NO and gave me his supervisor's number. I called his supervisor Mr. **. Mr. ** expressed that he had spoken to Cordero on this matter and assured me he (**) would take of it.. So far I have not been contacted and now ** will not answer my phone calls or respond to my text. I've hit a brick wall with this organization. They took my money unauthorized and will not give it back. Arthur **.

You get nothing for the plan price. You want real legal action? Pay a lawyer thousands of dollars. This is just lunch money to them. All they did was write my landlord a letter, and dropped me like a sack of garbage. Save your money. Still having issues with my landlord. I'll just have to move because my "Lawyer" couldn't do anything to a certified slumlord.

Legal Shield referred me to a law firm. What they don't tell you is that two of these lawyers were both disbarred in California & Florida. They take your money without representation. Being investigated by two states with the Bar Associations, State and Federal Government. We won't stop until they are investigated, fined and thrown out of Legal Shield!

Customer service department needs A LOT of work. I called to cancel my membership, they said I needed to email them, so I did and didn't receive a reply til 5 day later. My law firm that I called multiple times was not helpful AT ALL. All they ever said was we need more information, every time I called about the same situation it was always something different needing more information. I felt as if they did not really care or make a effort to help. Thought it would be worth it but really a huge waste of my time. Disappointed.

I've been with LegalShield from 2006 until 2022. This is the worst legal ever in history. I've been with them for over 15yrs and plus they never told me what's included in my membership until I call in and ask about it. I only used this service 5 times. Three-time to send out letters and two-time for the court which the other person didn't show up which made the case easier. Meaning my lawyer's got paid $500+ for just saying hello and goodbye, twice. Now, here's my big problem. eBay has been abusing every single seller and buyer and getting away with it. eBay stole money from me and gave it to another buyer for a refund which I never sold anything to this person. The money that eBay stole from me was my process money from another sale which they gave to that person on a refund, which I didn't sell anything to. Plus, they have so many illegal hidden fees from, shipping, final fees, buying taxes, selling taxes, etc...
Anyways, I sent in a lot of evidence to LegalShield on my behalf about eBay on what they have been doing to me and thousands of other sellers and buyers. I even told him to google on Trustpilot eBay reviews. He told me, "I believe we got something here." (Duh, of course!) Anyways, after going through mental abuse from eBay for about a whole month and I was still sending in more evidence to my lawyer between that time. He sent in a letter, no response back from eBay. The lawyer calls me and tells me the dumbest news ever. His words, "I've had to bring this attention to my team and they kinda LAUGH at me... so the only thing I can do is refer you to another branch because WE can't take this case!" What? First of all, you don't call your client back (two weeks later) and tell them that your team laughs about a serious situation that's causing mental and physical abuse. When I agree to his referring to another branch...
I ask him would he tell the new lawyer what's was going on and send him all the information that I was sent to him. His words again; "I don't have time to do that, so you're on your own. I have other cases to worry about!!!!" That really pissed me off when he told me that after what I have been going through lately for a whole month. I reported the lawyer and customer service said they were going to get another one to call me back. Guess what? NOBODY HAVEN'T CALL ME BACK YET AND IT HAS BEEN TWO WEEKS SINCE I'VE HAD SPOKEN TO ANY LAWYER! Then I had another problem with WATA GAME's false advertisement. I was supposed to get my games back in 35 speed days. Well, I didn't receive them back so I gave LegalShield and call once again. I've sent evidence to LegalShield and show them other reviews online those other customers were experiencing the same problem.
Wata Games went online and had google shut down their reviews so they can cover up their own tracks from customers that were having a bad experience with them. LegalShield agreed that what Wata games were doing was false advertisements, etc... Legalshield calls some lawyer in Denver to take the case. Here goes the email from the lawyer that Legalshield referred me too. (Your LegalShield Membership entitles you to a 25% discount off my $450 hourly rate for legal services. Would you like to schedule a telephone call to discuss the "$1,500 retainer" required to engage Cantafio Nagel & Song PLLC? Thank you for your consideration.) When I google the law firm that Legalshield referred me to, they had very bad reviews. I took my chance and ignore the bad reviews and called the number that I was given by LegalShield. Well, the bad reviews are right! He wouldn't let me ask one question... All I keep on hearing is, I need money.
I told him I'll call him back and I called LegalShield back instead of him. Legalshield agreed with me and said that they are sorry for referring me to a high-price rude lawyer like that and there isn't anything else that they can do. I said, what???? Now, this was coming from a supervisor that works at LegalShield named Debbie. Meaning, LegalShield can't give me any more recourses and I'm on my own. Wow, really LegalShield?!?! Then a few days later this lawyer from LegalShield had called me back and said she would try to help. Laura D, sent out letters and emails to WATA games warning them of a lawsuit. She stated, return my game's back graded and the money that I paid for the games and $2500 dollar compensation fee.
Well, two weeks later I received one game back and no money and an email from WATA game's making up more excuses why they can't send out the other game. I sent the copy of the email to Laura and she even wasn't happy either with the WATA game's email response back to me. She told me, "Just wait until you receive the other game back and we'll take more action against them." She told me to call her back when I receive the other game and I said ok.
In the letter, Laura even stated to WATA games, "this matter will not simply go away." Now, two weeks later I got a PPLSI letter in the mail from LegalShield saying this, (dear, my name, based on circumstance and information we have, LegalShield will not be able to continue to provide contractual benefits and services under your membership. By means of this letter, we are informing you that we are canceling your membership contract with LegalShield and refunding the unused portion, which was only $11.35 cents.
When I have seen this letter I was confused and hurt because I didn't do anything wrong and plus, Laura D, was helping me. I called the number that was provided in the letter and they said, they don't know why my membership was canceled and to email member services. I did and guess what, no response back. I called three times back to LegalShield just to hear them say "we don't know why your membership was canceled and we can't tell you on our end." I said can you have a supervisor call me back. When the supervisor had called me back from LegalShield she said the reps had lied and could have told me the truth why the possibilities why your membership was canceled and the email that the reps provided to me was pointless. The reason was stated, fraud, no payment or we can't help you with your problem so instead of taking your money every month we'll just cancel your member's membership.
She said the only reason that she can see "why LegalShield" had canceled my membership is because LegalShield itself "can't" help me with my problems and Legalshield isn't for "YOU." I ask why? She said she doesn't have the information. I told her me and Laura D, was getting some progress done about WATA game's so what are you talking about. She said, "I'm sorry but there's nothing else I can tell you." I told her to even ask Laura that works at LegalShield and she wouldn't. I hung up the phone. Now you're telling me after paying LegalShield $17.00 a month from 2006-until 2022 that their service wasn't for me.
Really after all of the years of paying for a membership that I really didn't use at all and when I did I still didn't get the help that I needed?! Legalshield just scammed me for all of those years just to tell me that their services weren't for me! Legalshield needs to be reported in for scamming customers to the BBB FTC, ETC... STAY AWAY FROM LEGALSHIELD, PLEASE DO!
