My attorney suggested I use the copyright office directly. I stupidly ignored his advice and went to LegalZoom. Only good thing about them is the form is easy. But they upcharge you 100 bucks. Then they took my submission online and completely dropped the ball. I only found out by checking their web site. No email notifying me they need another submission. So I send them an attached email. Day 3 I call them as to why my submission is in a "examination status". It's just rope-a-doping you to wait 2 weeks while they get around to sending it to the government. It's blue sky. I asked for a refund and decided to take my attorney's advice and apply directly to the government. BTW when I asked the rep why they take so long. She rudely said because we have other submissions besides yours.
Hi, we sincerely apologize for the poor experience you’ve had. Typically, the copyright process is much easier and we hate to hear you've experienced us at less than our best. Your comments are important to us and we appreciate your feedback. Please be reassured that we will review our operations and determine where improvements need to be made.

I paid for a DBA in Michigan.
#2 - They did not do the Tax registration for my state (Michigan) though I paid for it.
#3 - 4 weeks after the DBA was completed and I was working under the DBA, LegalZoom emailed that the TAX portion of my package was not filed nor completed and I would have to do that myself.
- I paid for that Tax portion of the service.- A refund was not offered.
- This was not posted in the offering of the service.
- I had to call them to demand my refund for the services which were paid for but not rendered.
Legal Zoom will rip you off if you do not monitor them and pursue. The service has fallen far from where it was 10 years ago. 100% untrustworthy. If you want a complete job, no hidden half-completed work, go elsewhere.

LegalZoom is completely unprofessional and their services are inadequate! I purchased the Economy LLC package for a total of almost $700. My estimated completion date came and went, only to be reminded my economy package wasn’t valued and I had to just “wait”. I ended up going to a local professional business service and they handled everything effortlessly in one day!!!! Legal Zoom is TERRIBLE!!!! Stay away if you value your time and business!!!

I used LegalZoom based on my friend's recommendation who have used them about three years ago. They walked me through the process. I got back a trademark search results and I had got in contact with the representative that was working with me to figure out what was my next step. I have not received an email back from that person as of yet, but the service that I wanted to apply under or that I’m going to apply under is for clothing apparel. The person that I spoke with was very helpful. He gave me his direct line, which was also important to me because for any further questions I have, I could directly speak with him. I'm not yet 100% finished with what I’m doing, but so far, my experience has been good.
Thanks for your review, Rashaun. We appreciate you taking the time and please do not hesitate to contact with any legal needs you have in the future.

My grandmother passed the house over to me and an attorney told us that LegalZoom might be the best way for a deed transfer. We were told the timing through LegalZoom is a lot faster than six to eight weeks compared to a lawyer which would take a bit of time, and that they research a lot faster as well about the mortgage and the deeds, who’s house it has been under. LegalZoom also do a power of attorney among other things, another service we also might end up using, so we decided to go with them. The research was able to find the information in less than a week and it took about a week for them to get me all the papers ready. However, it took six weeks for the transfer, it took six weeks for the city to respond. Nonetheless, the house has been transferred.
Hi William, glad to hear the transfer is complete and happy that we could help with the process. We appreciate you taking time to leave your review and please let us know if we can help with anything else.

As with many other reviewers here, I've learned that it is nearly impossible to cancel Registered Agent service with LegalZoom. They refuse to cancel, claiming they need proof of a new Registered Agent, but the LLC is no longer active. I cannot provide proof for something that doesn't exist. Still they refuse to cancel my service, continue to charge me, and have now hired a collection agency to threaten me with damage to my credit report. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from LegalZoom.com!

When I was first starting my business years ago, we were familiar with the LegalZoom service and I started using them right away to do all my trademark information, and it’ll be three years now since I've been a customer. I decided to work with LegalZoom for the convenience and centralization of all the services. We didn’t wanna have to go through and try and put an attorney on tenure or retain an attorney. LegalZoom makes sure everything is taken care of and we are all good as a business. Most recently, I used them for trademarking and the process was simple and easy. If there was missing information that they needed, then they’d follow up. Their customer service has been great. My interaction with their rep has always been easy. They've been real helpful and good at what they do.

I called again today and unfortunately spoke with Justin again. He was completely unprofessional, refused to let me speak to a manager and hung up on me. This is a horrible company and I would never recommend to anyone mainly based on the lies, unprofessionalism and way I was treated by Justin. I've been a LegalZoom customer for a couple of months now and there's a lot of drawbacks. It was an installment of $200 a month for the LLC. I’ve been charged astronomically over the going rate above the services. It's at 700 bucks when I could have paid at 250 or 300 bucks and be done with it. I feel a little used. But it has been paid now. I'm just gonna have my final certificate of LLC. I have to have one that says it's applied for. After I conduct all my business, I would never do business with them again. It's a sham on how they are doing this to customers who don't know any better.

If you think you are buying a Last Will and Testament for $187 you are not. You are automatically enrolled in ongoing monthly payments of $14.99 that continue unless canceled. The need to cancel an ongoing program that is automatically triggered is very deceptive, particularly from a legal services entity. There are no options to purchase the Last Will and Testament product without the unnecessary monthly legal consultation feature. Very deceptive and probably explains the large number of 1 star reviews.
Hi Valarie, although the comprehensive and bundle packages are advertised as including the legal advantage plan, we also offer the standard package which does not. The service is a legal plan that entitles you to receive unlimited attorney consultations on any new legal matter along with additional benefits such as unlimited revisions of your estate plan documents. We've confirmed the legal plan subscription has been cancelled. Please contact us with any additional questions or concerns.

I saw and read about LegalZoom on the internet. A friend of mine knew about the business and what they did, so it was easy just to go online and start signing up for business or get the documents needed. I wouldn’t be able to do all the paperwork on my own so the service has been extremely convenient being able to contact a representative and say, “Hey, I'm missing this document. Can you just send it to me in the email?” You are able to receive documents even if you just happen to misplace them. Also, I can see why it could be expensive because each thing is either at the federal or state level, and those are the things I'd rather leave at the professional who understands that more than I do.
I've been a customer for four years now. I contact them mostly on the phone and I haven't had any difficult customer representative. There was one particular representative that really stood out to me, who helped me in renewing some documentation for the business. She was able to really explain to me the process and helped give me a better understanding, showing me that the process was very easy. My experience with LegalZoom has been great and their reps have been very helpful. It is a really good service and I have recommended them to other people.

These folks are snakes. Do not do business with them.

After I left my review here, a social media manager reached out to me for a resolution. She was very helpful by giving me instructions to change my registered agent on Secretary of state. Once I have done that on my own, I informed the manager, and she responded to me within a few days and said she has canceled my subscription with Legalzoom. I also received a refund in $149 which was the registered agent processing fee they initially charged. I am glad that Legalzoom is willing to resolve the issue with their customer. Even though I was not happy with their way of charging their customers, I am satisfied with their way of handling their customer's complaints. So I updated my rating to them from 1 to 3. Hopefully that helps.

I registered my small LLC business last year with LegalZoom with their economy package. The registration progress was easy and smooth so I had nothing bad to talk about. A year later, which two weeks ago, LegalZoom charged me $399 for something I didn't even know what for. I called their rep and they informed me it was the registered agent fee, said before it was $149 per year and now they increased the price to $399. I asked why was there an increase in pricing and I never knew about the RA fee. The rep couldn't give me a direct response, just said it was LegalZoom decision. I sent two email inquiries asking Legalzoom to explain the RA fee and how can I do to cancel it because it literally all of a sudden shows that I enrolled in their RA automatically. Still haven't gotten any responses. I decided to call my bank and dispute the charges.
My bank gave me a temporary refund for $250 and they need to do further research. I mean, if I was overlooking the $149 charges, I'd admit it, even though no matter how ignorant I was, I would say that Legalzoom was being deceptive to their customers. Why don't you put in big wordings before charging the customers? Why get people auto-enrolled? Why not sending customers email notification before the charges occurred? Besides trying to be deceptive, I can't think of other explanation. And what's more concerning is the sudden increase in the fee, from $149 to $399, without notifying customers, without my authorization, without a proper explanation. I just don't get it. Legalzoom I hope you can get better.
Hi VL, thanks so much for the update. We appreciate you allowing us the opportunity to make things right.

I've used LegalZoom several times over the years. Had a few hiccups with orders but the price was low enough to make it worth having them handle my business needs like registering DBAs and setting up LLCs. However, it seems they've recently jumped on the hidden recurring fee bandwagon. Earlier this year I registered for a DBA and, after several months had passed, discovered that I was being charged monthly for a service they label ”30-Day Trial of Business Advantage”.
Apparently, you are automatically opted in with each order and it's on you to cancel after 30 days or be charged. I wouldn't have been so hot under the collar except customer service's indignant attitude, blaming me for not reading the small print on the receipt. Truthfully, I could care less about the $7.99/mo. It comes down to trust. Underhanded market schemes like these are not the way to foster loyalty (nor poor customer service). Fortunately, there are a number of companies online offering the same services so no need to deal with LegalZoom again.
Hi Douglas, we're very sorry to hear you were being charged for a service that you weren’t unaware of. We offer a standard DBA package that does not include the legal plan subscription and this should have been properly communicated to you. You deserved a better experience when contacting our customer care department. Again we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and as a courtesy, we’ve issued a full refund of subscription fees. Please feel free to contact us again if you have any further questions or concerns.

I filed for my LLC on 7/12/19, I in turn signed up for the registered agent, total compliance and legal assistance.. They got me my LLC name and EIN fairly quickly, fast forward to today I'm wondering why I haven't received any documents from the state at all so I can proceed.. Only to find out in order for LegalZoom to set themselves up as a registered agent they would have my state entity number already along with certificates already and I found this out by starting a new LLC myself..
The state of New Jersey gives you these documents instantly online along with your certificate of formation.. All documents a business owner would need to open a business bank account or lease a storefront, all of the documents you should get by filing for the LLC are sold to you separately away from your LLC.. So, not only did they have those documents, they don't let you know they have them, they don't even bother to upload them to your documents portion of your account..
So, in short they are scam artists selling you your own documents you should be entitled to.. Don't use them for anything, I'm trying to open a ice cream shop and these jerk offs literally pissed away any profits I'll see this year by squandering my entire summer with their scam.. And this goes for the affiliate BusinessLicenses LLC too..
Hi Hakim, your filing was completed 7/12/19 and the documents were available for download via your My Account page on the very same day. In addition, an email was sent to you explaining where the documents are located and how to download them from the document retrieval area. We are very sorry for any misunderstanding or miscommunication on our part and we're more than happy to walk you through this process now. Please contact us directly for help.

I wanted to set up an LLC and it was something that I could do on my own. But I didn’t wanna mess with it and I wanted it off my plate. It’s something that LegalZoom does every day. I had heard positive things about them, so I would rather pay them money and not worry about it. When we were getting things set up, somebody reached out to me to ask some questions. I've also gotten from an email from a different company for setting up business license, which I don’t know that I even need one. Then I’ve been charged 180 something dollars and I’m not really sure what I’m paying for.
I signed up for the most expensive package that LegalZoom had to try to get everything covered. In doing that, I may have signed up for some service that I may not need. Other than that, I've been using them for about a month and I've gotten my LLC set up. It has served its purpose. They’re the experts with it, so I let them handle it and it got done. Whereas, if I had done it myself, I’d probably still be kicking it around, reading this and reading that and analysis paralysis.

Ever since I got a incorporated, I used LegalZoom for the LLC and then I got a DBA for the LLC. The LLC was nice. They were quick and everything was good. They did referrals to banks and all that other stuff too. But I had a problem with them on the DBA. It took about a month and a half and I was calling LegalZoom to check on it and they were just giving me the runaround, saying that it would take them a while and stuff. So, I asked them to give me the number for the state which they did. I called the state to see what the problem was. The state got it done in two days. Then, I called LegalZoom back and they rushed it after that. But I paid $250 for something I could have done myself for 30. And I paid them to do it, there wasn't anything, not even a sorry. I told them that I wasn't happy with it, and that was it. They may be trained to give people the runaround instead of actually trying to solve the problem themselves.

In August of 2018 I filed for an LLC in the state of Washington. At the time, when I spoke with the folks at LegalZoom, they told me that I would need to use them as a registered agent. I assumed this is accurate, but since I have been told I could have been my own registered agent. They charged me a total of 960$ and I was given a “free consultation” with various lawyers and accountants who all very much wanted to sign me up to their programs. At this point, I was pretty much tapped out, and I refused additional services.
In the early summer of 2019 I reached out to them, asking how much it would cost to dissolve my LLC, as I was no longer in the state of Washington (where I was registered). They told me that pricing started at 129$, plus government fees, and could take up to six weeks. I made use of google and discovered that, assuming you don’t want a rush of any kind, it takes a single piece of paper (on which you list your name, address, business information, your UBI number, etc) and exactly 0$ in fees. As long as you filed your taxes properly (which I had done), it was 100% free. I contacted Legal Zoom after sending in said paper, requesting they cancel my account and all services. They responded they were unable to do that, until I was listed on the governmental website as having dissolved my LLC.
Five weeks later and it was dissolved. I emailed them again and got no reply, so I reached out by phone to ensure everything was cancelled. I was told that it was, but the very next day I got an email telling me that my renewal was coming up, and my bank account would be charged accordingly. I called again and went through all the necessary steps (them checking the website to see that it was dissolved) and they, again, cancelled my account. This time, I got an email confirming my cancellation. I still get emails from them, but thus far no additional funding has been taken from my account. To be on the safe side, I blocked them through my bank as well - which included sending my bank copies of my LLC dissolution and the confirmation email from Legal Zoom to my bank.
That being said, I think that charging 129$ to fill out a single piece of paper with a name, company name, UBI number, address/phone, and a signature is a ripoff. Check your state’s website, odds are you can save yourself 129$ (or more) by just filling out a single piece of paper. Heck, save yourself the entire amount, and see if you can be your own registered agent, it’s easy to apply for a business license. This was an expensive lesson to learn – take my word for it, you can do it yourself and save thousands of dollars.
Hi, our registered agent service is only offered as an option to our business customers. Our questionnaire offers the option to select LegalZoom or name another (including yourself). We truly apologize for any miscommunication or misunderstanding. The people on the phone whom I dealt with were very nice, which is why I gave the extra star. Their written responses were largely a dodge and saying we don’t do that. I asked for accounting advice on how to structure the LLC and they said they don’t do that and I need to speak with my accountant. I said, "I am paying you for that." They told me to contact their 3rd party 1800 accountant. A week later, 1800 accountant called and said they missed doing their intro call. I said, "I am going to ask for a refund." They said, "Do that through LegalZoom." I went and spoke to a real accountant and asked LegalZoom for a refund. Over a week later and still no reply. What a scam!
Hi Chris, we are truly sorry for any misunderstanding or miscommunication on our part. When I needed I needed to add a DBA to my business, my bank recommended to use LegalZoom. I paid the $200 in June but I still don’t have my DBA. LegalZoom sent me the forms that I needed to fill out and it included notarizing some pages. I went to the bank that sent me to LegalZoom to have them notarize whatever needed to be notarized. The bank notarized but they also added some other forms that they said LegalZoom was missing. So, I sent all of those to LegalZoom, which was all done by snail mail. It’s very slow.
And then, LegalZoom emailed me and said that there was a problem with the way that the bank notarizes, and they asked me to do it over. So, I did it over, and then they did not even submit it to the county because of the discrepancy of the first name on the documents. On the bank records, everywhere it says Masha. My legal name is Maria. Masha is the nickname for Maria in Russian. They didn’t tell me the discrepancy was the problem the first time. I asked them to, “Please go ahead and submit it. You never know, the county might not care.” Because the last name is the same, the address is the same, the social security, everything else was the same. I asked them to please A, submit it as is. And B, because I was the one who filled out the documents, I now cannot change them. They have to change it back to Maria to match. LegalZoom hasn’t done that and I haven’t heard from them in three weeks now. I definitely will never use them again.
Hi Masha, it is very important to us to try and improve the situation when there has been any dissatisfaction with our service. In reviewing your order, we determined the county now requires a certificate of good standing for all DBA’s filing with an LLC or Corporation as the registrant. We can obtain the document for you or you can reach out to the Secretary of State directly and provide us a copy of the original so we can complete your order. Please contact us directly to confirm how you with to proceed.

I am a small business owner that attempted to launch my non profit business last year. Legal Zoom filed the paperwork and made themselves my person that the stare sends mail to. A year later I was charged 399 for a service that was 99.00 a year before. I go to cancel and they said I need to change my “person”: I go to the State of NJ and now they tell me my business isn’t in good standing and my business name has been taken. I hired LegalZoom to help me deal with all the state laws of operating a business. I called and Legal Zoom said that’s not what they do. What they do is take your money and when you are confused and don’t know what to do tell you to contact the state. If you know what you are doing hire a company that’s not going to charge you 400 per year to tell you to contact the state. You are better off hiring a personal assistant for 10 dollars an hour. Once I dissolve my business I will never use legal zoom again.

In August i purchased an option to started a rush process to start a corporation. The next day i received notification that I they had a question. When I called with my order number, they could not find it in the system, though on my end it appeared and the first installment had been paid. After talking with 2 different people over periods of time, I was informed that this was a glitch in the system. Eventually, they shared I would need to complete things on my own because I needed a professional corporation and the state of Illinois would not allow them to verify my corporation (this is ultimately an untruth as i was able to submit my license through another agency without any problems) and that I would be responsible for this. I immediately requested my account be closed and a refund occur, as I was paying them extra money to assist and take care of this, if I wanted to do this on my own i would save myself the money.
When I spoke with 'cancellations' they said they would have to call me back to the next day and the refund would be established. The next day I received no call so I called back and was informed that the refund was taken care of, there was no confirmation number but she would email me something for proof, I waited on the phone for the email to come through and it didn't. The representative said "you're just going to have to give it some time." Well the email never came, the refund never came and each time I reached out I was told "wait 3 to 5 business days" or 'somebody told you 3 to 5 days they meant 5-7 days, sorry for the misinformation." At no point did they actually refund my money.
So after 7 business days and no refund of my money, I went through the chat and was informed that they just submitted the refund, that there is no confirmation, and I should expect my money in 3-5 business days. This is and was such a horrible experience. I have wasted my time to recover my money and I have been dismissed the entire process.
Hi Veronica, we really apologize for the poor experience you’ve had with trying to file your corporation & in getting your refund. Your comments are important to us and we appreciate your feedback. I've been a LegalZoom customer for about four months now. I am using their trademark service. With them, I filed a trademark less expensively than my friends who went through an attorney. That was a benefit. The only thing I don’t like about LegalZoom is I’ve gotten a bunch of calls from other people trying to sell services because they’re getting your name from LegalZoom. They would say they're an accounting firm and when I tell them I already have an accountant, they would say that most of their customers do. They’re very persistent in trying to sell other stuff because they’re assuming that small business people don’t know what they need and what they don’t need. I feel like I know what I need so I kinda resent getting all the calls from them.

I am recently widowed and am disabled. This service offered me a lifeline when I needed it. Since my husband died at an early age, I suddenly found myself with “half an income.” I needed to sell the home I had inherited from my parents and move to something I can afford. I cannot physically go to the recorder of deeds office. And I needed to have a title search, which meant going to an attorney - another thing I cannot do. For years I have had the deed in my name and my dead parents’ names.
With LegalZoom, everything is a snap. It took me less than two hours to complete all the information and discuss the pricing (which is slightly more in Missouri). Now I can relax. I just sit back and wait. I’m not putting the house on the market for another two months, so it's working out great. My real estate agent is very pleased.
I would recommend this service to anyone who is reticent to go to an attorney's office. This is perfect. And when I had a question, I was able to speak to a very knowledgeable individual, who answered all my questions in short order. Nice working with this service. Very professional and helpful. Not to mention the pricing is very reasonable. It’s helped me through a very difficult time. And I haven’t had to face the world at a time when I’m not quite ready to. Thank you LegalZoom.

The period to get the trademark done was a lot shorter than I thought it would take. It's now being offered to the government to make sure everything's okay. It was a great experience. I checked an email and they automatically enrolled me in some type of service. Fast forward I called and told them I was done with them. I don't need them as a RA, and I thought services were cancelled until BOOOOM today I check my account and they charged me $399 to be a RA for a business I am not using and basically said they spoke to me in May 2019...LIES. The package page states $155, the review page states $155, and the final payment page states that $155 will be charged to my card.... But in small print at the very bottom of the page, it states that an extra $159 will be charged. How is this not in violation of the consumer protection law....But then again, LegalZoom is made up of deceptive lawyers who probably legally advised the company to put an extra amount in the small fineprint!!! I would never recommend this company to anyone!!! Canceling my services!!!

I used LegalZoom to create a LLC. The problem I have is with their business practices. I have to blame myself partly, because I should have done my research and If I had - I never would have used them. As I go through their site to create my LLC, first off I should have done my homework on RA (again my fault) - so I choose to use them as my RA. I continue to go through the process and get to the very end in which I have a grand total of $338. At this point I also see a line item which is $159 for Operating Agreement and EIN. Coincidentally guess what else costs $159? Yup - using them as a RA.
But what’s not there is the line item for this cost which should be there of $159 - All it states is “LegalZoom Registered Agent”. To the average person like myself who's never done this before, I’m thinking my grand total of $338 includes the RA of $159 option I checked off - however it doesn’t. But what is there is a nice line item of $159 for Operating Agreement and EIN.
I’ll cut to the chase - they purposefully line item a cost of something you think you’re paying but then the next day I was charged an additional $159 out of my bank account now for a grand total of $338 and $159. This is absolute deceit and masking to the uneducated consumer. They take advantage of the one time consumer like myself and instead of hiring a lawyer like I should have, I’m over $500 deep to start a simple LLC. To further add to my frustration, I spent 40 min on the phone and asked to speak to a supervisor - put on hold for over 20 minutes then told they were busy and would have to call me back. Guess who still hasn’t got a call back? Me. Thanks for your awesome customer support. I hope I can help at least one person not use their services by my review.

This company volunteered their company as a registered agent. Without our authorization. Then annually bills us. 160.00 a year to remind you to pay a SOS fee of $25.00. This company has crooks working there. Has to call the Secretary of State to un-authorize and pay $25.00 to change registered agent. This company should tell one that if you get a corporation formation filed they will take charge of your agent too. Had we known this we would have filed the formation ourselfs. See what happens when you rely on a company to do the dirty work for you. You get burned. I will never use LegalZoom for anything and nor should you.

My LLC is now an S-Corp, and Legalzoom is still billing me for the LLC!) We never even authorized "registered agent services" for our LLC, but Legalzoom says our state requires it. State of Texas disagrees.
BUT, worst of all, Legalzoom is billing my Discover Card account now, that we never gave to them whatsoever! I showed this to their customer service department, and they still refused to help unless we got the state to drop our LLC listing first?? We're a corporation now, not an LLC, Legalzoom did not care at all, said we might get a refund in 90 days If we get the state to adjust our records. By the way, I had to get through to them by picking a different extension, because no one was answering their normal customer care number either. DO NOT USE LEGALZOOM.COM, sue them instead! I'm new to starting a business and creating an LLC. That being said, I've operated as a sole proprietor for years and am pretty savvy when it comes to legal documents. LegalZoom seemed like a good way to get started quick. After getting started, it turns out they don't actually file most things for you, even though that is the impression given. Also, finding the information needed to file the forms yourself isn't very easy, and customer service is pretty useless, mostly just copy and pasting things you can find in the FAQ.
Calling the number just lead me in circles, and there is no way to just talk to an agent or operator to get put in the right place. There are several instances in their "instructions and next steps" document where they tell you do open doc "x" or something and that document ISN'T there. After waiting for a while for customer service I find out that that document "x" is actually a document with a completely different name (no joke, it didn't have any of the same words as the actual document title). Also you'll find that sometimes they will say "fill in line x with y" but there isn't even a line x on the form! Now I'm trying to find out the SOS number I'm supposed to use to fill out these forms, and guess what? It's nowhere to be found, there is no chat agent available, and I can't get a hold of anyone at the 800 number (yes this is DURING the operating hours).
So essentially you pay $300+ for them to assemble a bunch of forms for you. Don't get me wrong, having all the correct forms in one place is helpful, but for $300 I'm not sure where the value is. If the instructions were correct (I was told by one agent that the instructions are good for most people, but they don't line up correctly for people in CA filing for their LLC... Like they can't create correct instructions for CA for some reason?) then I could see some value, or even if they just had helpful agents (most of the time you try and get answers it's either a FAQ copy+paste response or something like "You need to talk to someone from the Business License website or a Lawyer which you can do for a fee"). I definitely won't be recommending them or using them again.

We've recently started using LegalZoom where we have an account that lets us book half an hour of legal consultation whenever we want around different subjects. It enabled us to answer some key questions about how to proceed in our own business. There are times we just need to know what to do or what an answer to something would be. There are also times when we just need a document put together and LegalZoom has enabled that for us. But if there was a major value add, it would be being able to leverage the expertise of lawyers in different jurisdictions and one that we actually do business in. We're incorporated in Delaware as a Delaware corporation and we do business in Tennessee. It would be good to be able to book a consultation with lawyers who are familiar with Delaware's practice. But LegalZoom is still so cheap and fast that we're happy to keep using it.

I have no problem going and doing my own filing but using LegalZoom saves me some time. My life is really chaotic and busy. And because LegalZoom was so popular, I just went with them. I did estate planning and business formation, for a DBA and a corporation. But my DBA took an enormous amount of time and I’m very fast. The moment I got my first notification from LegalZoom to request a good standing letter for my corporation, I did it and I got it sent off right away. Despite that, it still look a long time to get my DBA. So I reached out and I got an email that was kind of sarcastic. It was like, “You should be looking at your status online,” which I did. I just wanted to find out what was causing the delay. But with the exception of that one experience, everything has been great.

So I placed my order for my LLC on July 19th, no big deal right? Just $319 so I thought. I make my payment, then the very next day they try to charge my account for $159. I message them through their chat service and I’m told it is for the registered agent! I told them I was not aware that wasn’t included in my $319 total.
The agent then tells me the site ask for verification before proceeding with checkout. That did not happen at all when I placed my order. It showed the itemized list of what I was getting with a total of $319 at the bottom. So I agreed to proceed with my order. There was no further confirmation pages to verify I wanted the Registered Agent. So the agent tells me they cannot cancel the registered agent because it was already submitted to the state of Arizona and I would have to pay the states fees to change it on my own. So I’m stuck with a complete stranger to handle my company’s and my own personal info!
Onto the next issue. As stated in the beginning of this review my order was placed on July 19th. So I waited about 5 days to check on progress through the app and website, and no update at all! I give a couple more days and still nothing. So I decided to jump on the AZ Corporation Commissions site and search for my businesses name. What do you know? It was processed and approved on July 20th, the very next day after it was submitted. So I call them and ask if my documents had been mailed out to LegalZoom. They sure did, on July 22nd. That’s a two day turn around.
So I chat with LegalZoom again and inform them of my discovery and ask why they are taking so long to process my document for me. They claim to not have them and are still waiting for the state of AZ to process my LLC and send the documents back. Wow. I just told them that it was already done and I have the proof sitting in my lap. Then they tell me my state is delayed and it will be 12 days. Also they said they would process my EIN and they hadn’t even started on that.
I received today now August 5th My EIN paperwork from LegalZoom and from The IRS. I get on the chat again today after receiving my document in the mail not even certified mail at that, to inquire again about my LLC documents. Again I’m told the state is delayed and it will be 12 days. I call my state office again and they are going to send me copies of all my documents free of charge to my house. They also stated they frequently hear these complaint issues about LegalZoom and other similar companies.
She also said the documents are sent certified and require signature as proof of received. My state let me know LegalZoom signed for those documents on July 26th. LegalZoom not only mislead me on the Registered Agent by hiding the true cost below everything on the checkout page they are holding my documents hostage.
We try to do our best to make sure every customer is happy and it seems we fell short of that goal in this situation. Our registered agent service is only offered as an option to our business customers and we assure you all fees are outlined in the questionnaire and the order confirmation email. LegalZoom was big enough to where I felt comfortable using them. I don’t mind using smaller companies and usually, I prefer to, but given that sort of matter in obtaining an LLC, I felt that it was better to go with a larger company that I was more aware of and their name was plastered around more. I used LegalZoom's app for us to be up to date with what was going on and I was pretty satisfied with that. It seems pretty streamlined. If I go through a service to get quality service, I usually recommend LegalZoom if I hear anyone in need of service similar.

I ran a quick search and LegalZoom got reasonable ratings so I got them for my Estate planning. The process was pretty easy. I did it online and it’s pretty straightforward. I haven't signed everything yet, but it’s a good thing that it’s done. My wife and I piecemealed it and most of their estimates were about 15 minutes to document. We might have been a little bit more than that on average, but it wasn’t terribly far off.
My recommendation for them is a little bit more added clarity on some of the definitions of terms or the statements. It would be helpful if just right on the spot to help clarify statements or have a hyperlink. They had most of it there in terms of recommendations, “This is what most people do,” type of stuff, which is good. But there were still a couple of things like, “Oh, I think I know what this means.” I had to do an offsite search just to clarify.

My business partner and I had more than a challenging and very frustrating experience with them. We contacted them to incorporate our business and were told that it takes 30 days to complete. We were more than 30 days out when we called to check the status when we were told they hadn't even begun working on it. Then we were told we were given a credit for our troubles which was a lie, we were refunded that money due us cancelling one of the services we had originally paid for. So then another call to them and were told by the customer service rep that we would be emailed our EIN number by the end of business that day which also never happened so ANOTHER call back and that representative said that the previous one hadn't done it so here we are over 30 days out, 3 calls and still no further along in the process.
So save your money and process your paperwork with the IRS and state yourself because it won't be the convenience you pay for...trust me! I was planning on doing my living trust through them next, but will never use them again! What a nightmare. All I ever got was apologies which is how I'm sure they'll respond here, but apologies aren't action and apologies without action are meaningless lip service in an attempt to "appear" publicly like you care and to maintain a good standing online. Everyone makes mistakes, but it shouldn't be repeatedly. Well, this review is about the horrible service LegalZoom has. They have a total disorder. We tried to open an LLC, we filled the form and then they began to come out hidden costs, lack of communication, lies. Then we decided to cancel the order and they accepted the cancellation, they refund us the money and the agents told us that there was all fine and finished. Now, we received some documents after two weeks of the state that the LLC was opened against us, because we cancelled and never authorized this, of course, and that was everything done. Now we have a problem to present a termination for that LLC before the state, and of course, LegalZoom, is saying that is in research but they begin to wash the hands and say that the refund never should be allowed and that these type of orders are not refundable, of course, to cover the bad organization and the lack of honesty.
The agents who cancelled via phone the order, when we cancelled told us the opposite, they told us it was in time to cancel and the proof is that they cancelled. I have the email of cancellation and refund. Now between them they are fighting also because they don’t understand what they did. I talked with the state agent and I exposed the situation because this is a big problem now. And like LegalZoom by their error they paid money to the state, they want to wash the hands and see if they can revert the unprofessional attitude. Of course, they are putting in us words in our mouth and they want to involve us for maybe they the high expenses they paid to the state or see how they don’t end losing. To hurry this termination, when I call they say is other department, well I said, "Give me the phone to call," and they answer they don’t have phone.
Then they said me they will call you and you will have their phone. C’mon a lot of inconsistencies, they don’t have phone, then that they have, but you don’t have it. What they are doing is preparing an scenery to avoid loss the money and not being affected. But the lack of communication, hide phones to avoid solve fast, lack of organization makes a dangerous company and they should assume the responsibility of their bad attitude and You can’t communicate to the right departments, because when there is something, they always say is another department, the mysterious department, that don’t have phone, and that sometimes it has, but they don’t give it to you. If you want to make a paperwork here think twice because is like they will don’t want to leave you no matter if they are wrong. We changed of company to Northwest and they respond and they are fast and no worries.
In our opinion here, what LegalZoom wanted to do, is against our decision of cancellation push us to open the LLC, so when this was opened before the state, trap us in the trick, and force us to pay the whole service. But of course, we don’t agree because we opened the company in other place (Northwest) and is illegal use your personal information to open an LLC when it was accorded a cancellation. The responsibility of LegalZoom is order their departments to be all informed and tuned. I can’t believe a department a cancellation and the other doesn’t know? For the two sides is wrong, lack of communication between them, or trick to ignore the cancellation and force you after to something you didn’t want. Either way is wrong. We hope finish this process soon and forget LegalZoom for the rest of our lives.

After several struggling uses of this service, I decided to cancel and go elsewhere. LegalZoom refused three polite requests to cancel the account [not including their call hang-up]. Email to customer service resulted in a reply that they could not handle my "order". Online service is pretty much hopeless [that was the reason for the "struggle"]. But a call to customer service led to the quite unpleasant dead-end: "No, they cannot cancel" my account; no, they will not check with another person e.g. supervisor; they have no interest in privacy regulations [like EUGDPR]; and [despite their observed inability to run a service that is responsive to simple customer needs], I'm to trust them to carefully handle my personal information until the end of time.

Legal Zoom was helping my organization file as a nonprofit. They did every single step wrong. When they finally did go to file it with the state, they informed me that our PO box, which they previously said would work, would not and they advised me to go purchase a private mailbox, which I did. They said a supervisor would call me back that day to sort out their mistake and they promised not to file until they had corrected it. No supervisor ever called me back and they filed with the PO box address, having omitted the box # to make it look like it wasn't a PO box. Eventually, due to all their mistakes, we finally decided to cancel the filing and receive a refund. They were to send a check to us written to the organization.
Since they had messed up every single other thing, I made them confirm repeatedly that it would be a check, and it would be written to the organization. NOT a card refund and NOT written to any individual. First they tried to refund it to a closed card. Then nearly a month later, we still had not received the check and I called to see where it was. They swore they had sent it weeks prior. This was a lie, they sent it after we ended this phone call according to the postmark. Worst of all, they sent it written out to an individual, so the check is completely useless. Now I will have to start the whole process with them over again. This has been the most horrible and stressful experience. With the amount of time and stress I've spent on this, I could have definitely filed everything myself with less hassle, less stress, and less expense.
We couldn’t be more apologetic about your experience. Things usually go more smoothly and we apologize that you experienced us at less than our best. In reviewing your order, it appears the business has been filed successfully and the refund check has been reissued correctly.

I chose LegalZoom as it seemed like the fastest, most turnkey solution to setting up my LLC. This is not my first business, so I was attracted to having all the services under one roof and paid for everything upfront -- well over $1000. My company was approved weeks ago, but I have been chasing LegalZoom every day, begging them to file my SS-4 to obtain the EIN from the IRS, for weeks. You cannot operate as a business without an EIN - no bank account, no PO Box, no payment processing. I have been sending emails, I sent the document 7x in various methods. I call daily. They are injuring me financially by keeping me from launching. I am livid and have lost all trust in them.
ALSO - potential user please note - they claim their portal and app do not work on "Apple" technology. It's not exactly right, though they will use it as an excuse, but via the app and using, say, Safari, you cannot view nor download your corporate documents. This is unforgiveable in 2019 - it's just a poorly run and managed company. Which begs why choose them to properly set-up and structure yours. Kicking myself daily. Had I known, I would have filed the paperwork myself.

Talk about getting over on people. The site also continues to state that the Auto-Renewal is $159. I need an explanation on this sudden change and inconsistency as there's something not adding up. I don't want to change them as my RA, but it is cheaper elsewhere.

Without my permission, LegalZoom upgraded my RA membership of 159.00 a year to $399.00 a year by adding an unrequested order of Legal Forms ($240.00) to my annual membership renewal. The transaction went through on July 4 holiday so it took two days to reach them (anyone having fun 4th of July may not have checked their bank account as I did that morning). By July 6 I reached customer service and they explained that the system upgraded me and admitted I personally never did it! I got my refund! Of course It will take up to 7 business days to see it but for the millions of members who holidayed the 4th away what becomes of them who don’t notice!
I cancelled the membership but cannot remove my financial information off their site (incidentally the info on their site is for a closed visa account but they are able to bypass all that to charge customers for unrequested orders. My bank confirmed they have their ways). When their full office opens on Monday July 8, 2019 I’ve been instructed to speak to cancellation dept to really remove my association but with a system that holds financial records and upgrades at whim cannot be trusted!

I used Legalzoom to buy a flat last year and they dragged the process out for months longer than necessary, and cost me hundreds of pounds through total incompetence. As a first time buyer, I received more help and assistance from the estate agents than my solicitor who didn't seem to know what she was doing. It was also extremely difficult to get into contact - nobody would answer the phone, emails simply go ignored, and if a message is left with someone else, it wouldn't be passed on.
Basic things weren't being done, or were done at the very end of the process instead of the start, adding months to the entire process. For instance, my solicitor didn't apply to close my Help to Buy ISA until the day before I was due to collect the keys, which luckily my bank was able to push through urgently as an extreme case. Basic checks weren't done to statements and invoices which meant I reimbursed the seller £300 for no reason. These were things Legalzoom should have done on my behalf, and what I was paying them to do, but the service was completely shambolic and unprofessional. I was forwarded email chains from the seller's solicitors which seemed equally frustrated at the incompetence shown by Legalzoom.
A first time buyer moving into a vacant apartment took 5 months and this was entirely down to Legalzoom. Although they are one of the cheaper solicitors around, there's a very good reason, and I would never recommend this company to anybody. Legalzoom have reported my review on other sites for being older than 12 months when this issue was not raised until August 2018 and does not absolve them of the fact that their outstanding incompetence cost me hundreds of pounds and added several months to the process.
We are so sorry for the poor experience. You deserve better and we’ll be sure to forward your information to our U.K office for research and follow up.

Using LegalZoom to form my LLC was the biggest mistake I have ever made as a legal professional. I have been lied to multiple times by their customer service team on obtaining an EIN for the business. They sat on my SS4 application for over 2 weeks after submittal, only to claim that they never received it. In reality, they never processed it and tried to cover their tracks. I attempted to speak to team leads and supervisors multiple times and escalate the issue over the phone, only to be hung up on or placed on hold for over 30 minutes in 4 separate calls. I never spoke to an actual person, nor has this issue ever been solved despite my many attempts for a resolution.
I am embarrassed that as a legal professional I used LegalZoom out of convenience for this formation rather than just taking the time to do it myself. The chaos, inconvenience and negligence that LegalZoom has caused has kept me from being able to conduct business. I am in the process of opening a claim with my credit card company to get my money back on the transaction due to the lack of resolution and incompetence that LegalZoom has demonstrated over the last 2 weeks. I would NEVER use them had I known how bad this company actually was. My mistake for not conduction my due diligence before proceeding to put my faith and money in LegalZoom.

When I checked, it was already filed with wrong information. What the customer service told me is completely different from what had filed. Paid for an expedited service to set up an LLC in WA state on June 21. The system said the The State sent me my certificate of formation on the same day that LegalZoom submitted the application on June 24. Their system indicated to me that I should receive my EIN and business license by July 5. I called LegalZoom to get an update on the application process on July 2. It seems that LegalZoom never followed-up with with State and didn't realize that they had already sent me my certificate of formation on June 24. I had to send them the formation documents via email and their support said that I should still receive my EIN and business license by July 5.
On July 3 I called LegalZoom again because their online system now indicate the delivery date of my EIN and business license as DELAYED with no other information. Their support response was not able to provide any update or insight re: status of my application, and did not help resolve my issue. They claimed that the WA state screwed up and didn't sent them my formation paperwork and was very defensive re: their responsibility and accountability. Very, very disappointing response especially after I had paid for expedited service. Am still awaiting their response re: resolution. I signed up with LegalZoom YEARS ago and realized I actually didn’t need my LLC for what I was planning so I tried dissolving. It is currently 2019 and “my company” is still not dissolved. It seems almost every week there will be another recording that calls you that makes you wait on hold to speak to someone from a call center. There is always another fee or penalty they are trying to get your money for. Each time I have spoken to a different representative for the last 3 years they have told me this was the last payment for dissolution. That I only need to keep a lookout in my email to signs the final documents and it’s dissolved. Then a week later they will call and ask for more money! It’s a complete sham.
Currently, I am waiting on a callback from Robert (been waiting 2 hours and counting so I’m not going to hold my breath) to AGAIN try to sort out this mess after my last call getting dropped a few days ago when my rep was finally making headway. Of course I didn’t get a callback from that rep (who was actually very wonderful) and when I called the same # back (call center) the next rep couldn’t help me since his notes hadn’t shown up from our dropped call. The notes supposedly still haven’t showed up about my double charges and all the confusion on their end.
Just within the last 2 weeks I have given them yet ANOTHER $500, had another representative tell me there are many mistakes on my account and it’s a “complete mess”, have been contacted by their lawyers claiming the “Agent fee” is going to collections (one day after paying the recent $500). And all this after I had just made supposedly the *LAST* final payment to dissolve. Which they have told me almost every time I've called. This company needs to contact me and make this right. I used to recommend LegalZoom upon first opening since it was super easy to open. However they will never let you out of their grips once you’re in and try to take every cent they can. Since the day I have attempted to close this business I have been married, began starting a family, and moved to two different states to give you an idea of how much time has gone by and the absolute ridiculousness of it. Beware!
It is very important to us to try and improve the situation when there has been any dissatisfaction with our service. We assure you that are doing everything we can to complete your dissolution, started in 2018, as soon as possible. Please note that all annual reports, taxes and penalties must be completely paid to the state prior to dissolution eligibility. According to the state, fees were owed and collected for 2016, 2017 and 2018. Now that all state payments have been made, the documents have been submitted for filing. We’ll be sure to overnight them to you once complete.

The process at LegalZoom was fairly easy, but you still have to know all the answers and I didn't since I’m not a lawyer. I don't know the difference between setting it up as a class S LLC or setting it up as a member-run. Instead of LegalZoom being a place that I can go for help, they’re a clearing house. They send me to a lawyer or an accountant. I can go online and fill the paperwork out with the state faster than they can. I felt like I was just filling out a form that asked the same questions that the state asks, and then waiting for them to submit it, get back and then check it over before they send it back to me. I spent a lot of money with them, and I probably will not go with them again next year. It wasn't what I expected, but everything got done.

Recently, I wanted to get either a trademark, service mark, or whatever was recommended to protect my company name within Texas. Sounds rather simple, doesn’t it? I was charged $216 and within a day an attorney called me from Dallas. I explained what I wanted to accomplish, and he spent about 20 minutes discussing options. He clearly sounded like he knew what he was talking about. Shortly after the call ended, he sent me an email with a link to the State of Texas to get the correct form for filing for an intrastate trademark.
After completing the form, I called the attorney to ask if he could review it before I sent it to the state along with their $50 fee. Another attorney from that firm called me the next day after receiving my completed form and said that all appeared to be fine, so off it went to the state. Weeks and weeks later I received a letter from the (Texas) Department of State stating that my application for a trademark was declined. I called the number on the letter and, as reviewing paragraph by paragraph, she mentioned that #1 (doesn’t matter what it said) was incorrect in their letter, but to pay closest attention to #2 and contact an attorney that specializes in intellectual property / trademark applications.
I immediately called Customer Service at LegalZoom and explained this predicament. She placed me on hold and someone else (Diane) took the call. I explained everything again, but she said that ‘the plan’ that I purchased on, or about, April 1, 2019 was the wrong plan, but for 400-some dollars, they could handle it. Obviously, the employee that I spoke with weeks earlier errored by referring me to the Dallas attorney. I was not trying to get building plans for the Taj Mahal! Simply should I go forward with a trademark, or service mark and how to get it done with the Department of State in Texas.
Sorry! I was sold the wrong ‘plan,’ but there will be no credit towards the 400-some dollars for LegalZoom to handle it. She placed me on hold twice to, supposedly, speak to management. They concurred with her. I can only take the advice of these LegalZoom personnel as they (should) know more than a layman like myself. So, I’ve dropped the entire project thanks to the wrong ‘plan’ sold by LegalZoom and their refusal to make things right. Attorneys?! They’re all the same?!! BEWARE!! - B.W.C.

I provided proof of this to them and they agreed to take us out of collections. Amazingly, they have resubmitted us to collections for the same fee even though their representative agreed that we didn't owe them money because our business was closed! And to top it off, every time I call them, they are closed, at a company event, or some other such excuse for why my call cannot be answered. We will never use LegalZoom again for anything! This is way too much trouble!
Original Review: We used LegalZoom to set up a business (LLC, trademark, registered agent) back in 2014-2015. We closed the business and followed all of the instructions for doing so in 2015-2016. They still sent bills for the registered agent service even though I called them, and told them we had been out of business for some time. I was told they could only close our account when our state registered our business as closed, so I checked our tax filing status with our state and, sure enough, the state knew we were closed! This happened twice and then radio silence until the email I received yesterday (June 24, 2019) that they had turned me in to a collections agency for the registered agent fee!!!

Hi Amy, the registered agent subscription is auto-renewed each year until cancellation by either naming a new agent or notifying us that the entity has been dissolved. Authorization is given the moment you elected the agent option. Because the agent service is optional, you can name a new agent at anytime for cancellation and a refund of the recent charges. In reviewing your account, it looks like your annual report is due for 2019 and you can make any agent adjustments during this time. Once you have named a new agent, please let us know and we'll immediately cancel the LegalZoom subscription.

They were trying to do it on their own. And I told them, "Do it online. It's really easy." So, they did.

I used LegalZoom in filing my LLC and DBA. They were mentioned on MacBreak Weekly, and when I went to it, it was relatively easy. I've used it in the past, so I was familiar with the site. I like LegalZoom's ease of use and that I don’t have to worry about things getting done. And they notify me when I have any papers that need to be filed. Their reps are very good. I had an issue that maybe my paperwork wasn’t right or they had a question about the name, and so it was really easy to call back and talk to the person and get it resolved. So, there was an issue with that. I'll continue to use LegalZoom. It's been helpful and I've not ran into any issues. It's a good experience. They’ve taken care of everything that I've needed them to do.
Thanks for the awesome review, Peter! We work hard to meet expectations like yours, and we’re happy to hear we hit the mark for you. Come back and see us soon.

If you read down through the reviews here, you'll find that my story is very similar to many others. If you find yourself a good, local attorney they will go to the plate to bat for you every time. If you choose to work with these guys, prepare to be nickel and dimed, upsold and cross-sold 100 different ways. They're out to profit, not help.
My Story: For the second year in a row, I've received a collection letter in the mail for not paying their deceptive reoccurring registered agent fees. This is in relation to a company that was created and actually never even put in business. I don't remember the exact timeline off hand but 2-3 years had to of passed from the time the company was formed until the time of the first letter (it wasn't a yearly thing to start with).
I disputed the bill which then went to a collection agency. Told the collection agency the story. They say that the company was never dissolved but once I paid the bill we could work on doing that. It was only $159 and me feeling morally responsible for the fact that the company was truly never dissolved I agree to work with them. Pay the bill, start the process of dissolving the company by going through the steps outlined in our discussions, everything is a done deal and we should be good to go.
A year later, I get a new collections letter in the mail, this time without even a notice of a bill. Immediately mad I pick up the phone to call the agency to inform them that this bill will not be getting paid until I have in writing from LegalZoom that the company has been dissolved and charges will no longer occur. Call the number and find that it doesn't even ring and after about 30 seconds it automatically hangs up. How convenient. They're about as reputable as their partners in crime, LegalZoom.
If it wasn't for only $159 I'd have other attorneys involved by now. Since I can't get ahold of anyone I'll wait for them to call me. But no one is getting paid until I have confirmation these disguised fraudulent charges will end. Again, had I been dealing with a REAL attorney, I'm sure I would have been receiving follow up calls to resolve any issues with the dissolution of the company. Instead I mistakenly chose LegalZoom who chose to let it go so they could get another years worth of fees. Or maybe they just never tried doing anything at all. Protect yourself. Hire an attorney you can trust and get face to face with. Don't work with a company that hides behind a website.
Our goal is to make every customer happy with our products and service, we clearly missed the mark this time. We want to resolve this for you & we’re aware you haven't had the best experience thus far. We’ll review your account and follow up with you directly.

They helped me finish my LLC and get it done, and now they're helping me set up all the other aspects of the business since I’ve never done a small business before. They're doing a lot of educating and assistance with things. It’s been really helpful ‘cause there’s so much to learn that I didn't even know about. A few weeks ago I went to LegalZoom.com and tried to complete the economy corporation package. It didn't go well and some questionnaire had some errors. I called and the Rep on the line stated it was some type glitch in their system, so he completed all the forms manually and took payment information. Total came out to about $538. I chose to make 3 monthly payment installments. I asked if there were any other fees, and the rep said no, the only fees were the 3 monthly installments in the beginning of every month. First month payment $178, paid the same day. A week later I saw a charge of $249, so I called and I was informed it was for a service agent fee or something of that nature. The week prior, I initially had told the rep to use my information for the agent part of the Corp.
The rep on the line this time couldn't do much due to the forms were already sent to the state. I was refunded half $124.50 and rep stated once the documents came back I would receive the rest of the refund and the agent info was going to be change to my name. They actually had put LegalZoom as the agent. Well, today I woke up and checked my bank account and saw a transaction for $280 from LegalZoom, but guess what? They are closed. I don't know what this charge is for. I haven't even received the other refund and now this. I did not authorize any other charges. I'm glad I have the funds in the bank and didn't go overdraft.

I found LegalZoom on Google, and I didn’t like my experience with them. I had gotten the LLC. I got the Gold package and within 10 days, I had everything. But I still ended up doing work that they should have done, like doing my taxes and setting up my S corp. I’m also trying to get the legal stuff taken care of and I have no point of direction. Every time I call them, it’s either a recording or I get routed somewhere else that I don’t need to be routed to. It’s just a mess and it upset me so I’m gonna get rid of them as soon as I can. Through the beginning process, they should put out that when people call the number, they're gonna be talking to a call center. We, as business owners, don’t have time to be talking to somebody in a call center. We need direct numbers. We hired them for a lawyer and for accounting. We don’t pay them for services to talk to a third person.

The benefits of using them are: being able to see where all my documents were on the process, the ease of use, and it was all online. Contacting them is pretty easy too.

I have just filed my small business with LegalZoom, and within a week or two I get my packet only to determine that the address details were all mixed up between myself as the secretary and my partner as the president. After I realized they mixed up the addresses, I called to resolve and at that point learned that this filing would require a $800 fee (at minimum) per year, paid to the state of CA. Because LZ portrays themselves as a one-stop-shop for incorporation filing for the layman, I would have expected them to disclose this information.
While I do realize that they are a third party, as it relates to filing with the state franchise tax board, they do bear some responsibility to disclose or outline these additional costs to their customers. Some companies are small, and this cost if outlined at the moment the purchase was made, would have prevented me from placing this order. The rep on the phone told me that "most people know this". That was a hurtful assumption on her part. I am now out $400+ dollars for the filing fee, and an additional $150 for the dissolution fee. NO concessions were made, no refunds or fee waiving offered. Thanks for nothing.

I am extremely disturbed regarding my most recent business dealings with LegalZoom on June 6, 2019. I am even more disgusted that I am just getting a notice a week later saying that I am getting my refund. I was charged for a transaction that I "NEVER" approved in the amount of $299.99. I was charged twice "knowingly" and not notified that I was charged twice for the resident agent service which should have only cost $159.99, but instead I was charged $159.99 plus $299.99 for reasons I'm still not sure of. I was not told that I was charged the $299.99 and then the representative charged me again for the $159.99. On top of all that I will not have my money back for possibly another week or two.
I was only notified that the $299.99 was taken and refunded only after I contacted the subscription dept and they told me that it showed a refund in their system. Koushar, the apparent Supervisor over subscription, refused to allow me to speak with anyone higher who could resolve this issue faster. He also said that there was no one higher than him to deal with this. They told me that I would have to go to my bank to request my money back sooner even though LegalZoom took the money from my account without authorization. They also nonchalantly expressed that they fixed the issue and that I just had to wait 5-10 business days to get my money back. It's been almost a week now and I still have not received my $299.99 back, and according to their most recent email it could be another 7 business days from now. No one seems to want to go the extra mile to even try and fix their mistake. Extremely Disappointed.
Hi John, the registered agent service is auto-renewed each year until cancellation. Recently our agent service fees have increased and notification was sent to the contact email of all our subscription members. We're sorry this was the best experience and we've confirmed the $299 fee has been refunded leaving you with the standard renewal fee of $159. The refund was successfully issued 6/6/19.

I looked more on the funding the companies had received and how they were working in the start-up space. LegalZoom seemed to be the best funded based off their ideas, which I thought was important. They have pretty good partnerships with the 1-800Accountant and stuff like that, so it's like a one-stop shop. The customer service is great. You can go online and set an appointment. If there's something that needs to be done, they would send you an email. And if you don't reply to that email or do this, they would give you a call. So, it's kinda nice when you're running your own business to have somebody above you. I did the LLC creation and I used the Business Advantage.
I started my first business in September of 2017 and I've been a customer for almos two years. I would advise anybody that does business with them to go ahead. If you're making the LLC, getting the LLC package, or corporation package, to pay for the most expensive option because then that comes with an organized little binder, which I thought was that was pretty convenient for me. Also, the first time I did it, I didn't know, so I chose the cheapest option and it was everywhere. I definitely would advise to go with the higher-up ones, so you can get that binder and take care of everything. And I really like the compliance calendar because that's always a hassle.
My most recent with them was also creating another LLC. Since it was a little more complicated, they introduced me to a service that you don't really even find online, where they kind of take care of the legal. They have an accountant in-house that helps you as well with everything. However, then they realized, and this went on with the relationship which kinda sucked, they realized that doing investment advisors and the financial planners is a little more complicated than they expected. I appreciated that they were honest with me on the legal side and basically told me , "Hey, we don't have any lawyers that work with us and that are really specialists with that."
So, I appreciated that they were honest with me and basically told me that they didn't have the required education to do what I needed done. Aside from LegalZoom, I had a lawyer that I spoke with, like that one lawyer. But I think that's pretty cool. I think that would be really convenient for a lot of other businesses. Sadly, it just didn't really work out well with mine. But I think with anything else, it would probably work really well.
Hi Victor, we really appreciate you taking the time out to share your experience with us. We look forward to working with you again in the future!

I have been sending emails about cancelling my services with Legalzoom. Emails are dated over a year ago. I specifically stated in my emails to cancel my services with Legalzoom as the business is no longer running. I have call and sent emails. A year later I am now receiving a collections bill for the Registered Agent. Which I told them I wanted to cancel due to the business being gone. They confirmed today that they have received my request but did not process my request as I need to contact the Secretary of State and have it changed first.
Ruth ** from Legalzoom told me that if I were to have the registered agent changed then they would dissolve the collections billing and cancel my services. I contacted the Secretary of State today and they were confused why I am changing the Registered Agent for a business that is no longer in business. Legalzoom has put me in a bad situation where I have to pay the State to have a RA changed for a closed business to stop billing from Legalzoom. I hope that anyone reading this is thinking about using someone else for their legal services.
I have been going back and forth with Legalzoom for over a year which takes away from my quality of life. Just to cancel my services. LegalZoom's website also states that in order to cancel services, call or email. Which I have done both. They still have not fulfilled my request and never told they were not going to fulfill my request. I paid no attention to this matter for a year because I thought it was taken care of. Apparently not, because Legalzoom will not cancel your services. Even if you want to.

LegalZoom has me on hold for 1 hour now - beautiful music playing. The recording at beginning said wait was 10 minutes. I'm getting very hungry. They are trying to charge me for registered agent service for 04-28-18. We filed the statement of information on 4-30-18 saying that they were no longer registered agent. They keep trying to bill us for $249 for a year of service. Is 2 days such a big deal, when they didn't do anything during that 2 days? I've referred many businesses to LegalZoom to help them with formation of their corporate status. Now I will need to look for another company to help them. I'm very disappointed. They should talk with me and resolve this and not charge me the $249 for 4/30/18 for 365 days of service.
Hi Craig, you're right. You should not be held responsible for only two days of service in the year 2018 and we regret to hear you've had this experience. We've confirmed your agent change and cancelled the LegalZoom agent subscription in full. We will discontinue any further collection efforts.

I've been with LegalZoom for two months now. The documents that they have is mainly the reason that I took the membership. I have used some documents that they have for the company like non-compete agreements and employee agreements. When I go online, they have documents that I need but they're not as broad. When I read them, they're very generic. If I want to modify, do something or need to speak to a lawyer, the process is not as easy as I thought it was gonna be. You have to make an appointment and whatever they have available is two or three days later.
Also, when you call and ask a question, it seems that they cut you off. Their answer will be yes, no, or you could call a particular number. There's no help or support over the phone. Most people use LegalZoom because they don't wanna probably pay a lot of money on human resources' point just to get a document. If LegalZoom has the documents online and we have questions or we will like to modify them, they should have a department that we could just do it or maybe call and request a modification instead of having to probably use that that is there or speak to a lawyer to see what a lawyer can do for us. I paid six months for LegalZoom but I used LawDepot for some documents there.

I was looking up some legal information for starting a company a couple of years ago through a search engine, and LegalZoom came up. I started a company, a LLC, with LegalZoom. I have two of them with LegalZoom now. The first time I worked with them was November of 2017. I started was a livestream company, and then the second one that I started here recently was a music label.
I liked LegalZoom's ease of service and payment plan options. They take care of everything for you, so that’s actually what made it more appealing to me. I didn’t have to do any of the legwork. They took care of everything for me from the beginning. I just paid for it straight out, and they took care of everything else. I wanted to get it started early, so I ordered their express package. And within like two weeks, everything was done - business formation and all the paperwork, so it was great.
LegalZoom offers incentives, and they help you with getting company banking stuff, bank accounts and credit cards. So, both times that I started the companies with them, they sent me offers for accounts and credit cards for the company itself. But they also give you instructions on what you’ll need. If you have your own bank, they give you instructions of what you actually need and what to bring with you if you go to your own bank, if you need to apply for accounts for your company. They even offered tax services. So, if you need help with the tax of running your own company, they assist you with that.
Since I travel a lot and I’m always on the go, they have an app that kinda sends me notifications if there's something that I haven't done that I need to do. So, the interaction with them is always good. They’ve been great to work with. They've been great to use. I would definitely recommend them to anybody who's trying to start their own business.

When I the DBA and then the transfer of deeds I paid it in full amount. I did not do an installment. But after a month they started charging me 39.99. I called my credit card and did a dispute.
I did the transfer of deed, what legal advice do I need? My deed is already transferred, I don't need legal advice. I just need to transfer my deed. What legal advice do I need? But I'm pretty sure they're trying to put me, enroll to another free legal advice, because what was that 39.99 for? Everything is good except they're kinda sneaky.
I tried to call yesterday, but they're trying to transfer me to another department, and I got on hold and got lost. After any service I do, they will charge more. It took me six months before I found out that they keep charging me for 29.99, for what? But LegalZoom is cheaper than the lawyers. Lawyers charge more. And LegalZoom does follow-up. It's very easy. I sign what I have to sign and mail it back. It's convenient. The price is cheap and it's the same result. We saved money. We opened our business after they helped us open an LLC and a DBA.

My accountant suggested I use LegalZoom to form an LLC that I was needing. LegalZoom did an LLC for me, and it seemed like it was going fine until I went to try to get insurance. They told me that they couldn't prove I owned the LLC because they listed some guy in Charlotte. I couldn't get anything done. I couldn't get my license tag. I couldn't get my tag at the tag office for the same reason. So, I had to drive 150 miles to Raleigh, North Carolina. It was three hours from where I live to Raleigh in order to file a $150 change of ownership which listed me as owner. So, it ended up costing me twice as much. I should’ve used a real lawyer.
On the formation of an LLC, LegalZoom should automatically list the owner as the owner on the LLC when they file it with whatever state they’re filing with. It didn't make any sense. Doing the way they did it cost me so much extra work, extra money, and extra time. I lost some wages because of it. I lost time. I had to wait to go to work because I had to get it all straightened out. And actually, I had to hire a lawyer to help me, but in the long run, it really cost me. The lawyer was a friend of the family and he didn't charge me anything. But as I was in charge of the LLC, it would've cost me three times the amount that I paid LegalZoom to straighten it out.
Some of what they had was fine, but the way it’s organized, as a big company, they should know better than to list someone else. Some people might want that, but if they wanted a fictitious contact listed, they would be requesting that. Automatically, they should list the founder of the LLC as the owner so that in all documents the founder is listed as the owner. And the only reason they would list somebody else as a contact would be if that person just wanted it so that the money wouldn’t be bothering him. Had I wanted to remain anonymous, that would've been great. But to start off remaining anonymous and not being able to use the LLC, the LLC completely useless. So, I drove to Raleigh and filed the extra forms which I had to get a lawyer to help me with.
We are disappointed this happened to you and we are aware that process added an extra hassle to your already busy day. Typically, ownership is listed in your operating agreement and we are concerned this wasn’t made clear. We appreciate your feedback and would like to try to regain your satisfaction as our customer.

I signed up with Legal Zoom to set up paperwork for my LLC in 2016. I canceled when it was time to renew in 2017. They now sent a collections notice for services they never provided TWO YEARS LATER!! I told them I didn't want them to be my registered agent with the State but apparently they didn't feel the need resign as the registered agent, or tell me that they would be CHARGING for services NOT PROVIDED. I canceled their service! They have not communicated with me for TWO YEARS at all and now they want me to pay $250.00 for services I CANCELED! SCAM ALERT!!! Plus they sent it to collections!! They operate like this so they can scam customers into getting hit with charges they never agreed to. I'll be calling the Secretary of State to let them know about this scam as well.
Hi Melissa, it's important to us to correct the situation when there has been any misunderstanding or an error in the service and/or product. In reviewing your account, we had no previous record of your cancellation attempts. According to the state, your entity is active but a new agent was updated 6/6/19. As a result, we've cancelled your LegalZoom subscription and will discontinue any further collection attempts.

LegalZoom is a big fraud and I’m so dissatisfied with their company. I reported it to my bank. How can I get help with this matter with LegalZoom.
Hi Frances, we try to do our best to make sure every customer is happy and it seems may have fallen short of that goal in this situation. LegalZoom registered agent renewal is not required in PA although they say that it is. Last year I turned this over to my attorneys Welch, Gold, Siegel in Pittsburgh. They research this information and said that I am not required to have a registered agent in the state of Pennsylvania, although every year they keep trying to charge my outdated credit card then once the card does not go through they send it to a collection agency trying to ruin my credit and my company's name. This is the third year they have tried to do this. This is fraudulent to deceive people who did not renew for something that is not required. My request is that I would like to be deleted completely from LegalZoom records, have no part of LegalZoom. I am re-contacting my attorneys attorney again. I feel like this is a form of harassment at this point. My suggestion to anyone thinking about using LegalZoom should look the other way.
Hi Jack, although having LegalZoom serve as your agent is optional, having a named registered agent is required for your state. We are very sorry for any miscommunication on our part and we will review your account in effort to make things right.

Year after year I've used them for RA for $159/year for 2 companies. Everything was fine until this year when I got charged for $399.00. I called and they can't find see that the charge went through to my bank, although I can see it online. Evidently they decided it was in my best interest to add another service called Legal Forms for an additional $100. Also, the RA service increased from $159 to $299. They said an email was sent explaining all of this, and I should have opted out of the Legal Forms if I didn't want it. I don't even know what Legal Forms service is?

Applied for LLC through LegalZoom. Actually spoke to someone on the phone after completing online application as was concerned about the spelling of my name. People often spell my last name wrong. Well, after paying for the service I provided I get the documents with my middle name spelled wrong. Tersa, Who is named Tersa?! I spelled out Teresa twice to the woman on the phone.
After calling LegalZoom regarding this they inform me they can only change some of the documents as the IRS will not speak to a third party. Understandable, but I paid for the convenience of not having to go through all that. Now I have to call the IRS. I'm expecting it not to be an easy fix in that I will be transferred from person to person. Would not recommend using LegalZoom as you may not get what you paid for. I didn't and I got and "I'm sorry" and "we can't."
Hi Doreen, it's important to us to try and correct the situation when a customer feels there has been a misunderstanding or an error in the service and/or product at LegalZoom. In reviewing your account, we’ve confirmed that although an agent did contact you by phone to provide expectations on your next steps, your questionnaire information was submitted online so the filing was submitted to the state & the IRS under your specific direction. I’ve used LegalZoom before for some other legal aspects and testaments. It was for a web serach and they seemed to be the ones who were the easiest to use. I’ve been their customer for a couple of years and recently, I used them to create a business. I’ve only just started and there has been a lot of benefits from doing business with them. I have used the other services that I purchased through them like the accounting services the most where I’m able to speak to accountants or lawyers. However, I was a little upset with them because when I created the company online, I filled in all the forms, and when I got my formation papers, they all had incorrect addresses on them. I subsequently spoke to the lady on the phone from LegalZoom and she was adamant that I filled in the online application incorrectly, which was absolutely impossible because they mixed the business address and the private address into one address, and that’s all they used.
The lady also said that they only copy and paste. Subsequently, I have to go refile forms with the Secretary of State in Texas at my own cost. So, as far as the service of setting stuff up is concerned, it was not that good and there wasn’t a lot of due diligence done. As far as the services to use the account and some lawyers, I’ve done that on the phone and they are very good. I don’t have a problem with them. Once I sent my paperwork in, it was relatively quick. It was done within the six to nine days that they advertised it was but since it was done incorrectly, it didn't help me any at all. I have to go through all of the stuff and I have to go file stuff again with the IRS because of the address that was incorrect.

Dealing with LegalZoom has been a colossally frustrating situation. I have been trying to get them to stop charging us $14.99 a month for years for services we do not want or need. Each time I've tried to cancel I've had a difficult time and then forgot about it and gave up. Stupid, I know, but it just wasn't worth my time and trouble until I finally had had it!
They did a will for my husband years ago and somehow we got hooked into the Legal Advantage Plus which is what the monthly charge is for. When I tried to cancel the charge I was told that my husband had to call and cancel. Since he is rarely around during the day to call them, we inadvertently put it off. Recently when I sent them an email asking to cancel the services they sent me this email back:
"We wanted you to know that we have received your Legal Advantage Plus cancellation request; however, we cannot accept cancellation requests through email. Please call the Customer Care Team directly with your request at our toll-free number: 800.773.0888. Our Customer Care Team is available Mon-Fri 5am to 7pm PST; Saturday 7am to 4pm PST." Really, they can't accept a cancellation by email and then they make it nearly impossible to reach them by phone!! (There are no prompts for customer service or for canceling a service)
Finally, after going back to my American Express bill and getting a DIFFERENT phone number, (not the one listed in their email) we were able to speak to a person on the line after 19 minutes of holding. It would have been easy for them to be a little more helpful when a client wants to cancel a recurring monthly charge; every other recurring subscription I've dealt with has a cancel option on their website! I do not recommend them. Anyone who commits you to a continuous monthly fee and makes it so difficult to cancel doesn't deserve your business!! I will never use them again. I could have paid for a private attorney for what they charged me over the years and received better service!
Hi Louise, we're sorry to hear that you were being charged for a service that you no longer want. We signed up for LegalZoom at the beginning of starting my husbands photography business and used them as our registered agent for the next 2 years, one day we got a letter from them telling us that the autopay card on file was expired and if we wanted to continue our services with them we would need to update it so we went online to update the card and saw that the “fee” they were trying to charge was triple what we had originally agreed to, my husband called and spoke with an agent who said that was the price if we wanted to continue which we then told her we did NOT want to continue with their services and that we would not be adding another payment form because of that.
She still tried to tell us that we would be responsible for the $299 fee for the next year even though we were Not continuing our services. We explained that we wouldn’t pay a fee for services not rendered. We have now been sent to a collection agency for $299 that we do not owe. Luckily the card we had on file expired otherwise they would have charged us that and more. Beware of this company and their backhanded tactics in trying to bully someone into paying something for nothing.

I signed up for LegalZoom LLC service only May 31, 2019 where I selected myself as the registered agent. As soon as I signed up I received a phone call from an LegalZoom agent who informed me that I was not allowed to serve as my own registered agent. She offered that I make a LegalZoom to serve as my registered agent for 159. I was told that because I selected the economy package I had time to think about this offer and I would not be charged until it was filed but that I would be called before they move forward.
Soon after I hung up I researched this issue which led me to numerous reports here. I immediately shot an email to LegalZoom the very next day Saturday, June 1 to let them know that I do not wish them to serve as my registered agent. To be clear I signed up for the economy package and was told it could take 2-3 months. They denied my request and moved forward with filing my LLC. I was notified today of it. I tried calling LegalZoom several times to correct the issue. I was told I needed to provide proof that I did not select them as a registered agent. They have the recorded phone call they can pull and I am in the process of sending the call I recorded on my end.
They are trying to charge me 159 for a service I did not sign up for and will be amended immediately once it is approved. I will be contacting my bank and providing supporting documentation. You cannot charge someone for a service they never received. They refuse to acknowledge the error or miscommunication on their part or take care of the issue as courtesy lets me know they do this all the time. DO NOT SELECT THEM AS YOUR REGISTERED AGENT!!! They promise to handle the issue but they won't. I will be keeping you all posted on the outcome with my bank.
Hi Pamela, our goal is to make every customer happy with our products and service, we clearly missed the mark this time. LegalZoom hiked up the price of Registered Agent service by almost double what it was over the last 2 years and charged my bank account for not only that but also for access to "files". When I called customer service they said that the only way to bring down the fee was to sign up for 4 years! They refunded the additional $100 for the "file access" but refused to refund me for the Registered agent service telling me that I cannot be my own registered agent. I was on the phone for almost 40 minutes. The first agent refused to escalate my call to a manager and the second was nicer, but still said that I could not be my own Registered Agent. This is a predatory practice that takes advantage of small businesses. I will make sure to speak of this to my business groups on LinkedIn, Facebook and SBA and will also speak to another legal service on becoming my own registered agent. This is very disappointing and I regret telling others to use LegalZoom.

LegalZoom is supposed to be a quick process, it was not. It was hold after hold after hold then calls when you addressed a hold. When you express your frustration with how long it takes, it then becomes your fault and you receive sharp and repeated explanations of "how" they do things there and blame the state. They are just a bunch of clerical people with minimal training on how to ask the right questions to minimize the time it takes for a customer to get where they need to be - IN BUSINESS! No lawyers there, just people who process paperwork. Oh and the comment I heard repeatedly was that the state changed their requirements so they have to ask all these questions. SO FRUSTRATING!

My business used LegalZoom to file for an LLC. We opted for 3 payments of $124. In my receipt, I have everything itemized and something called "Affordable Tax". It says it's included and that's it and the charges were what I expected. Then I get a charge for $320 a month later for my auto membership (yearly) on my bank account for "Affordable Tax". Nowhere did I EVER sign up for this, I was never emailed and told that this would be charged, and I have zero emails mentioning "Affordable Tax", I still don't know what it is much less did I use this feature.
Adding insult to injury, they've charged everything on my bank account under "Legal Zoom" except this fee. I had to dig around to find that it was charged under "Legal Plan" I can only assume in an attempt to hide that they secretly signed me up for a plan I don't want. I asked around the different types of attorneys and law firms and with LegalZoom, it seems like the prices were right and they had an intake form so I could just enter stuff and get things done any time of day. It’s more convenient when you do things online. I didn’t have to go in and meet somebody to pay for everything.I use LegalZoom mostly for trademark and one time I went to file one, I did my own research before I submitted it. They did some research and were trying to show me all the potential conflict that possibly could’ve happened. The trademark hasn’t been granted, so it could be that their concerns were correct and the trademark gets rejected or something like that. They've produced a bunch of results and they recommended some upgrades to pay more money.
The reason why I go to LegalZoom is that it’s less money and it’s more straightforward, presumably they systematize it. But I don’t know if I'm getting the same quality of service and legal advice for less money than if I went and paid somebody double or triple the money. I'm getting all these letters from all these other attorneys around the country who obviously know some things that I don’t know. Somehow, they could go online to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and find out that there’s a problem with my trademark. But I hired LegalZoom and I get what I pay for.

Hiring Legal Zoom as your registered agent includes access to the legal forms database. Purchasing access to the legal forms database by itself costs about $96 annually. If you factor that amount out, the auto-renewing cost of having LegalZoom act as your registered agent has increased by around 330% over just the last two years, now far exceeding the going rate for this type of service. Worried by that trend, I went to cancel the auto renewing service. In order to do that, I was told I would need to file a new registered agent with the state. I asked if this is something they could help with, but they said no. I ended up having to pay them almost $200 to just dissolve the business. Ridiculous. If you have to call customer service, don't schedule a callback unless you keep your phone in your hand while waiting. They only let the phone ring a few times before hanging up.

Everything was fine with LegalZoom. I've used it off and on for several years and did some estate planning, a deed, and a living will. Recently, I used it to set up an LLC corporation. They did a great job with getting my company set up. It was done very quickly and LegalZoom did what it’s supposed to do. The forms are easy. However, some are so snobbish that they're offended by looking at a LegalZoom document.
I was trying to do the work for this rich guy and LegalZoom was beneath him. He kept complaining about what I did on a LegalZoom file. It was the craziest thing I've ever heard. I never would have thought someone is offended by a legal document. I told him, "If you don't like it, it's a contract. Just change it or send it to your attorneys and have them modified. If you wanna spend money, spend the money." I was saving him time by doing an employment contract. Then he didn't wanna pay me so I didn't go work for him. But I think LegalZoom is great. I like the simplicity of it. It covers everything. It is a good service and I’ll use it again.

They first told me they refunded the money on my charge card in April of 2019. This did not happen. Then they tell me that they sent a check to an address in NJ. I have not lived at this address since 2017. I asked them to remove the charge from my credit card. As of today it is still there and I have never received a refund. I gave them my new address and no refund. Bank of America told me they spoke to them and they explained that I used their service. I did not use their service.
This is going on for months now. I am so tired of calling and emailing. They keep apologizing and now I am paying interest on my credit card because refuse to pay 159.00 for something I did not purchase. I call and they agree it was their error. I say, "Great. May I you please remove it from my credit card." Then they go on to tell me in the next 3-5 business days it will be credit back to my card. My card as of today 6-20-19 has a charge of 159.00. I opted OUT of using LegalZoom yet after the LLC was filed I was billed $159 on my credit card on file year later in 2018. This is an annual fee that can only be reversed if LegalZoom charges me again to remove the registered agent filing. They call me and ask me if I need or want any other services and the only thing I asked was to be removed from his list or services. I changed my credit card and on 05/18/2019 I was charged $399 on my new credit card. How? I don't know. And they upgraded service without my authorization or consultation. We are truly sorry if the notification of the upgrade was not received in a timely fashion. We can assist with updating the agent on your behalf or you can avoid any LegalZoom charges by updating your agent directly with the state. Once you’ve successfully elected a new agent, contact a manager directly and we will cancel your LegalZoom agent subscription along with refunding your recent charge right away.

The issue that we are dealing now is that they sent all of our documentation to the wrong address and this today's news is what made me finally come and leave this review.
