    My experience with LegalZoom has been a nightmare. I applied for an LLC through LegalZoom. It was very important for me to receive my EIN number quickly because without my EIN I cannot set up payment options for my new business. I requested an urgent EIN and was told I would receive it about 3 weeks ago. Once the due date passed for my EIN, I called the customer service line and they assured me that my EIN would be arriving that day. It did not. I have called LegalZoom every single day since then and every single day I am promised that my EIN will be sent to me that day. Here I am writing this review 3 weeks later and I still do not have my EIN number.

    LegalZoom has cost me an incredible amount of time, as well as money. I would not wish this service on my worst enemy. It is incredibly hard to start a new business and when companies like LegalZoom let you down over and over it becomes very discouraging. I hope this review, as well as the countless other 1 star reviews on this site warn others that LegalZoom is not a company you want involved in your business.

    If you are looking to register for a basic LLC, DON'T do it through LegalZoom. My accountant suggested I work through LegalZoom to register my LLC. I thought it was a good suggestion since I hadn’t registered before and I assumed they would be more helpful than if I go directly through my state. Well I was totally wrong. I paid for to receive my LLC within 30 days when checking 10 days after my purchase I saw there was a delay in the State filing step. I did not have time for any delays, so I called the state office directly and asked the reason for the delay. They said they had not received the request. Then I asked how much it would have cost and how long it would have taken to file directly with my state and they said it costs $100 and takes 1 business day.

    Quick comparison. Cost to register for LLC with LegalZoom $175 and it takes 30 days. Cost to register for LLC with the State of Oregon $100 and it takes 1 business day. I called customer service to complain, but since I did sign up for the 30-day plan they would not offer a refund. I do understand that I signed for the 30 day plan, but I should have done more research before listening to my accountant and using LegalZoom rather than my state. Therefore I am trying to warn others that LegalZoom could be overcharging for a service you can easily do yourself (especially in this case).

    Like so many other reviews I have read, I am being charged, almost 2 years later, for an annual registered agent fee, which I did not ask or sign for. We used LegalZoom in July 2016 to prepare a deed for a property sale. We paid our fees for that transaction and now, almost two years later, they want 299.00. I have had 12 email interactions with LegalZoom since Jan 2018 and numerous phone calls. I asked that account to be closed in Jan through email after receiving harassing emails and phone calls. Just this evening I was called from collection agency to ask what method I wanted to use to pay LegalZoom. What a shady thing to do. I will never do business with them again. I want my account closed and my record cleared of owing LegalZoom any monies.

We recently increased our agent fees due to new services added. According to the state, we are is still listed as your agent. If you no longer want our service, you are required to name a new agent with the state.     I used LegalZoom to form my LLC on 2/28/2018 and OMG what a mistake. They first used my DBA as my name for the LLC and it was 6 weeks later when I found out about this error, I then submitted an order to amend this LLC with correct name which I ended up canceling and decided to drive to office of SOS myself and filed the amendment on 4/13/2018 and got the papers in next 2 days while their site continues report status, "DELAYED - Processing by your state government is taking longer than expected. We will update you as soon as we have more information."

    As of today, 5/25/2018 I have not yet received anything back from these guys. So I called them to follow up and same status still reports for my order, I was told that they were waiting me to give them confirmation to file Statement of Information. No one contacted me via email or phone. Status information is misleading or not clear... If you are not rush or want to wait 5-6 months to form your legal entity then go ahead use LegalZoom... I will not ever use any of their services. Thank you!

    I used the website to make a simple will and it was so confusing that I didn't realize they were charging me $13.99 month for almost a year. When I called it took forever to actually speak to a human. When I told them how unhappy I was they agreed to cancel my subscription and refund me 2 months of charges. BIG DEAL.     LegalZoom Consultation services is $14.99 per month or $11.99 if paid annually. The website says in big betters, "You can talk to an attorney in your state as often as you like." Looks clear enough until you try to talk to an attorney more than once during a six month period. Before subscribing, I called Legal Zoom to ask questions so I clearly understood what services I can expect to receive. Their sales people tell you what you want to hear - like an insurance salesman. But when you call more than once in six months - they find excuses to deny your consultation.

    They canceled a set-up appointment at the end of the day (4:05) PM, when you expect an attorney to call the following day for your consultation services. The "service" you are paying to receive is nothing more than a referral service to attorneys. Their hope is you'll call with an issue, and they will convert it to a sale or contract for legal services.

    Here is what I found, I can call any attorney and speak with them for 30 minutes at no cost. More importantly, on your own, you can select an attorney specializing in the field in which you have an issue. With LegalZoom you get a broad spectrum, one-size fits all attorney who may, or not, have some knowledge of the area in which you require assistance. Save your money, get more precise, and experienced advice, call an attorney on your own.

    Sadly I found this website after I place my order. So this is what happen: Express Gold LLC + Business License Package which I was charged "for me to fill out all the forms and send the paperwork myself!!!" having a 3rd party person sending me emails to collect extra fees to complete what at first I had paid for!! Now I have to find a local accountant AND PAID AGAIN to file the licenses needed. WHAT A SCAM and don't even try to call customer service. Terrible as well, this has been such a bad experience, stay away.

    Like some of the other users of this service, I assumed this to be a reputable and ethical business. In 2014 I set up a small LLC using LegalZoom, and used them as the registered agent. The RA fee was $159 until renewal time late last year, when it went up tremendously. Other companies were contacting me with far lower prices for the same service. In a phone discussion (should have kept a record of all this, but again, I thought I was dealing with a reputable company) where I told them I no longer wanted their service and to cancel, they offered a little reduction in price, but I had already signed up with another company.

    Fast forward, to May 15 when I received an email that my credit card could not be processed (it had been compromised and a new one issued). I responded by email that I had cancelled early this year, and received a response the same day that my "membership (?)" had been cancelled. On May 18, I received an email from a collection agency in New York indicating that LZ had turned the "delinquent account" over to them for collection of $299. I fail to understand how something could be delinquent when it would be prepaying for 2018 for a service that I had cancelled, and another company had done the service. This is simply another scam effort to intimidate people into handing over money. I advise anyone who reads this to be very careful in doing business with this company; they seem to be capable of scamming.

    Updated on 06/15/2018: I submitted a review on May 24 and LegalZoom finally responded on June 5 with their usual trite response promising a quick resolution. I responded on 6/11, both on this site and by email to the address given on this site. To date there has been nothing. This morning I received yet another voicemail from their collection agency. So it appears that they have no intention of handling this situation, which leaves me with going forward with the fraud complaints to the Georgia and California Attorneys General. Warning to all - don't do business with this company!

    I purchased the last Will & Testament product. Completing the will is relatively easy but problematic. I live in the state of Ohio and in recent years Ohio included the Digital Asset category to completing a Will. LegalZoom does not alert you to this. The only reason I know about it is because my husband recently completed a codicil and the attorney (in Ohio) that he used stated the legal digital assets needed to address the disposition of digital assets. So, because I was not aware of this Ohio requirement I had to submit a revision to my Will requiring that I wait another 5 days to get the revision. After you complete your will there is no section to select where you can review what you've entered so if there is a typo you have to wait another 5 days to make the correction. If you want an expedited revision you get charged another $20 bucks.

    The price for a simple will is reasonable but the product is substandard. There are no instructions alerting you to legal requirements of disposition of digital assets in Ohio. There is no review section to verify spelling. If you complete a section that is contradictory to a previous section, there is no alert to the error and you are required to wait the standard 5 days before you get a message on your account on the LegalZoom website, they do not even bother to send you an email letting you know of a problem. I had an error, called the number, the rep was professional, she fixed the error and told me I had to wait 4 days for the revision, but it actually takes 5 days. Every time you make a correction, you get a new order number. This entire experience was a waste of time and money. The only upside is that revisions are free for 30 days. I complained to the rep that fixed the error I had and the only response was that she thanked me for calling.

    Had similar experiences to some of these reviews. I'm a dumb newbie who started an LLC 5 years ago. I never actually did anything with the LLC other than make plans. I got too busy working and travelling a FT job and missed answering most of the calls and emails sent by LegalZoom and by their 3rd party companies, offering trial services, none of which I needed. However, it turns out my little LLC missed some state filings. I still don't know why. I was ignorant of this - and got involuntarily dissolved by my state last year. Granted, I should have paid more attention, and should have returned some of those 'please call us back' non-specific voicemails. Perhaps Legal Zoom needed signatures, verifications, or payments from me, I don't know. I read somewhere, they try to call 3 or 5 times, then don't try again. However, for the money I paid them to be the company's Registered Agent, it would have been nice to get better service, than just 'call us back'.

    Today, I called and asked that they stop billing me to for their services as a Registered Agent since the company was dissolved over a year ago. They can't stop billing me. They said I needed to go to the state, fill out paperwork to renew the LLC ($600 + $75 filing fee)... Then call LegalZoom back and open a new order to get LegalZoom removed (which will be even more fee$). Otherwise, LegalZoom will remain forever as the Registered Agent for an LLC that no longer exists. Forever deducting annual $159 payments from me. To be fair, the state told me the same thing when I tried to remove them as Registered Agent myself... I did all the legwork to figure this all out.

    Thousands of dollars to LegalZoom over 5 years - here's what I got: A binder when the company was formed, and lots of calls and emails for various reasons, and ongoing automatic annual payments. The few times I did call for help, the person who answered said they couldn't give legal advice. Different people with differing experience levels answer those calls. I hope to start a new LLC in another state next year... Learned a lot from this experience.

    Like so many other reviews I have read, I was charged the $14.99 for legal advice that I did not ask for. I understand now that you have to cancel the service before the 30 days. I was doing a last will and testament, and they charged my credit card $79 right away, and then sent me an email that there was information missing before they can complete the will. I received an email that they will credit the $79 for the will, but nothing regarding the $14.99 that I also requested be removed. What a shady thing to do. I will never do business with them again.

    I signed up for LegalZoom because I wanted to get the correct forms and procedures to create my new business. I wanted a piece of mind that items being filed were accurate. This turned out to be a costly mistake. Their initial package seems fair to set up an LLC, and it offers payments, however; they sign you up for many trials and at the end of 30 days, they turn into $34.99 monthly or $320 annual fees. First warning, make sure you cancel any trial items that they give you.

    Second, when I initially set up the account, I checked the DBA option and entered the information, only to find out that all of that gets ignored and no DBA was formed. I had to sign up for a separate package of $184 for them to create the DBA. They fill out a form to you and send it to you for you to send back so they can do the filling. Let me save you time and money. To form a DBA, download the form from the internet and file it for $34 then pay additional $25 for publication. Much faster and much cheaper.

    Their customer service takes a while to answer, but they are available to give you refunds on services not performed. For example, in my initial package - they never filed for an EIN. This was something that once again I was able to take care of online. The bottom line is that many of the services, you will need to work on so it is better to do the research and take care of it yourself or pick a better company that will help and lay items needed clearly.

    Horrible! They do nothing. You pay for a service and they come right back saying you have to do the work yourself. I asked for a refund. Got partial back. They are still charging me and sending me to collections... IF YOU ARE SETTING UP A NONPROFIT DONT GO HERE! I went with Yippiekiyay...awesome company! They do it all for you! And no I don’t want to be contacted as I’ve tried many times to ask LegalZoom to take me off their lists. I’ll be taking you to court for harassment.

    STOP, STOP, STOP... Anyone considering doing business with this company I urge you to RUN, RUN, RUN away as fast as you can. I didn't read the reviews before doing business with them. GIANT, GIANT, GIANT mistake on my part. I tried to set up a corporation and paid the premium price to speed the process up. Once I realized that I had made a mistake with this "so called company" I started calling their customer service department. I believe this is nothing more than a call center. I don't think there is a person there with an IQ over 50. What I got was a bunch of conflicting BS! They don't have a clue what they are doing, or it's just outright LIES.

    I don't need STRESS in my life and I certainly don't need to pay to have it enter my life. That's all you will get from this company is LIES & STRESS!!! I finally told them that I was done with all their company and I wanted a complete refund of my money. That's the only thing that they did right. I got my refund credited to my card in about three days. It's my opinion that this "so called company" needs to be investigated by a legal authority or entity of some kind for their business practices. So people RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!! I'm sure as with all the previous reviews they will put out a comeback statement to this review. Well they can stick that up their **!!!!

    I am writing to complain about LegalZoom and they're illegal practices. I formed an LLC Corporation back in January of 2015. That was the only service that I used LegalZoom for and I paid them to expedite my LLC which they did. I do not use LegalZoom for any other service. I sent it in writing and LegalZoom continues to harass me saying that I owe them for charges, filing services annual fees. I don't know what this company does. I think they should be thrown in jail. It's a horrible company with illegal practices. I am a business owner I have never experienced such harassment and bullying. I am filing a case with Consumer Affairs against them.

    I was just notified that LegalZoom had sent me to a collection company for charges for service they provided. I file my own annual filing with the state of NJ. I do not need LegalZoom to charge me $299 annually for what? Repeated written efforts and phone calls have been made to discontinue service with LegalZoom and now I get a letter that they're taking me to a collection agency. I will tell anyone that I know not to use LegalZoom. They are an illegal and an unfit and unfair company to ever do business with. I guess that's why you people has a 1 and half star rating! You got another sucker!

    I decided to engage LegalZoom to assist in forming a small business LLC in the state of CA. The main deciding factor was that the company offered an Express Gold service, turn around 7-10 business days. $349 + $85 filing fees and VIP Service. I was in a rush to get this going so I went for it. Now 9 days after filing I find out that the $349 fee is to pay LegalZoom to turn the application around in 7-10 business days. And that they have absolutely no control over expediting anything with the state. Even though the package itself advertises "Rush With Secretary of State". I even spoke with two different LegalZoom agents after the filing as they had questions regarding the name and I confirmed that I should have these docs within the next 10 business days.

    Now 9 days after having filed the application I find out that LegalZoom just submitted it to the state and it will take minimum another 15 business days for the state plus another 2 days for shipping etc. so we are truly looking at all told a 4-5 week turn around at best. I called the customer support number and was told that there was no-one I could talk to regarding a refund, cancelling the order etc. I was given an email submitted a complaint there and online. Still waiting for an answer.

    Fairly simple story here: LegalZoom created an LLC for me, and I paid to have them act as the registered agent, and for an additional service to ensure the legal entity remained in compliance for filings with the state. Recently, I got a final warning that my LLC is about to be dissolved by the state because my agent has not filed an annual report. I never received a notice or reminder from LegalZoom that this was due. As a result of the delinquency, I have a significant late penalty I have to pay to keep the entity in good standing. When I called LegalZoom to understand what is going on, their responses (plural, as I had to talk to four different people, explaining the situation to each one), were effectively a shrug and "um, sorry. Too bad, I guess."

    To boot, the filing fees from the state are somehow increased by 50% if LegalZoom files the report for me vs. doing it myself. So, by paying LegalZoom to take care of this, I am hit with late notices and penalties, and my filing fees are inflated. And I still have to do everything myself. Not what anyone would call a great deal or valuable service. I will cancel ALL services I have with them and let my credit card company know any future charge is to be declined.

    We’ve had nothing but problems with LegalZoom since Day One – for three years now. The last go-around was the last straw. First we were emailed regarding a “late notice” on our “auto pay” – alrighty then. A couple of problems there. We’ve never used any auto debit instruments for unknown entities such as this one, and we could not find out what the super duper deluxe package entailed that they wanted us to pay for. At long last we got a call with noisy hectic background sounds clearly reminiscent of a telemarketing call center. The “Product Specialist” calling seemed clueless regarding what our “package” contained, and eventually he relented to what we had asked for, a written emailed explanation.

    What a surprise that was – every useless service imaginable except for the two things that we had always hoped and dreamed about. Turns out that one of them, our annual state LLC Registration renewal, had always been included in what we had paid for but had never actually been done by LegalZoom. We always had to do that ourselves. Several days later, after countless additional emails and calls (their phone menu never actually yielded a live person or accepted a recorded message from us) we’re taking a brief respite. Then again, we have made it clear that we’re merely trying to fire them, or wanting to know what their “Satisfaction Guarantee” is all about, and want to find out if we had missed anything in the mess. I’m thinking that we’re simply being shunned at this point.

    LegalZoom has capitalized on the word legal, yet is the most fraudulent company I have ever dealt with. I canceled account in 2016 yet they still charges $299, then finally refunded. Next year 2017, LegalZoom charges again, we also had refunded. Now again they did a $299 annual charge, finally refunded again. They were rude and did not want to refund again. I had to threaten to call my bank/card. Fraud by LegalZoom - still 3years annual charges after canceled.

    On April 3, 2018 I ordered an S Corp express file and paid the 585 required in full. The express package guaranteed 7 to 10 days delivery. For the past month, I have checked their website and it has stated that the package has been delayed by the state. I know how my state is with time frames. So today being overly concerned with such a long delay I decided to call LegalZoom. Upon speaking with their representative Jessica, she stated that she just checked the corporation name and it is available. She also apologized and stated that it has not yet been sent to the state nor have they contacted the IRS for my corporation's EIN number which I need to apply for trade accounts for my business. Everyday that goes by is causing me not to be able to open my business legitimately, which is costing me money. They offered to reimburse me 75 dollars either in store credit or to my card. With poor service like this I had it put back to my card.

    It is an ultimate concern now how they will do as a registered agent if they drop the ball on legal paperwork. They update their website with false information regarding your orders, when in fact they have not did what they say they did. Still hoping for the best that they are able to get me my package within 7 to 10 business days as their rep stated or I will be updating this report and every other one, including D&B. Terrible service. You would think that if you want to keep customers coming back to you that you would provide decent service especially for those that pay for expedited service and then they wait for the time it would have taken for regular service which is a couple hundred less and they offered 75 dollars to make it up to you.

    I signed up for the Gold account In March 2018 1/2 price $660.00 for $220 X 3 payments. They are trying to charge me $320.00 + $330.00 + $320.00 + $222.22 = $1202.22. Total was supposed to be $660 because it was small business. Month special 1/2 off now. I’m going to sue them for all I can get. Just told Credit I didn’t authorize this payment at all. This is horrible for a company like this. They told me it would take 7 to 10 days to get my LLC. My EIN number ended up being 30 days plus can’t talk to anybody. There’s no phone numbers to talk to anybody. You can not talk to anybody. They talk down to you. Horrible company.

    I've had LegalZoom as my Registered Agent for 9 years, and last year the price increased 60% (which I emailed them and complained about, but never received an explanation), and this year the price increased another 100% over the already high price for no good reason. That's outrageous and unbelievable! Other registered agent service companies are charging only 10-20% of the price that LegalZoom charges for the same service.

    Considering I was getting almost nothing for the service anyway (as in they were doing almost no work on my behalf) I've decided to cancel and switch to a less expensive Registered Agent service that I've been using for a different company that I own. I'm saving $400 this year as a result, and my new Registered Agent guarantees that they will never increase their fee. I'm so disappointed because during the first 7 years (from 2009-2016) their prices were affordable and service was good. But I will not use LegalZoom again, and I strongly recommend others avoid them as well.

    I have set up a number of companies with LegalZoom. 1)The menu choices when starting the process online are not flexible. After choosing one of the packages you need to call in to have services removed and or added. 2) I want the 2 day processing, which is not a menu choice. 3) I want the documents returned to a different address. 4) I do not want legal advice subscription of 39.95 a month.

    My most recent experience I started the process with my established account but when asked what email I wanted the receipt sent to I selected a different email. That terrible decision has given me two LegalZoom accounts that cannot be merged or undone. LegalZoom does not have very good access to the California filing office. The California web page will show that the LLC has been filed but no image of the registration is available. It took LegalZoom days to get the registration while I was able to call an attorney who was able to print the registration in a few minutes (he pays for a service). I would think that someone at LegalZoom would have this service available. Using the California website you can file for an LLC for $70. Mail it and you will receive the LLC registration online in a week or so.

    We used LegalZoom when we opened our business 7 years ago. We were willing to overlook the fact that they dropped the ball on our seller's permit, they also screwed up our dba. But we were able to open our store as planned despite this. Unfortunately the economy changed and we closed our business 3 years later. We contacted them to let them know we would no longer need their services. Despite repeated call and emails we continued to have our checking account dinged for multiple charges. We were told the state had to release them from being our agent. Then they should hit the state up for the payment. Until then they would continue to charge us for doing absolutely nothing.

    Now for the 3rd year in a row, they emptied our account, taking our mortgage payment. It takes us months each year to catch up after this! We are on a limited income with over $10,000 in medical bills we can't pay, but at least we have our home...for the moment. What kind of legitimate service takes advantage of people this way? Especially after I have attempted to fire them. Now I can't access my account, but that didn't stop them from stealing from us. I regret using them at all.

    If I can give 0 star, I would. I purchased a standard incorporation package for about $426, it should be a one time charge. A month later, they charged me two more times for $159 and $375 separately without informing me at all. Turned out to be some subscriptions that I didn't sign up for and didn't need. They wouldn't cancel the services and at first told me it's legally required to have the service by the state. Finally after quoting what the state department has online, they cancelled both but keep one potentially being charged next year 2019.

    What was THE MOST UNREASONABLE is they refuse to remove my credit card information on file. Which means they could put unauthorized charges on my card again. After a long discussion with the agent and she transferred me to her manager Alex, the manager decided to be very rude and told me they just can't remove it and hung up on me. What a BS company, I would NEVER EVER do business with an entity that is so not trust-worthy. Luckily I have a good credit card company can post stop charges from this company, but I'm still scared and will watch for any future activities in my account.

    Updated on 03/23/2020: I started the process of setting up an LLC through legal zoom. Towards the end I asked to cancel the creation as the business was no longer in the cards. The representative said it was cancelled and I was good. Later on I found that I was still being charged for their auto-renewal for 2 years. I called to cancel the services and they had a long wait time so I opted to get the call back, about 30 minutes later I received the call back and STILL waited for 15 minutes when they called back.

    After a long conversation, I was informed that the only way to cancel was to pay $188. So I ended up paying almost $200 to cancel an LLC that was never used and was charged for 2 years for a business that never existed. To add insult to injury, during the 35 minute call to cancel, the rep pitched me on 2 free trials through legal zoom. I would not recommend anyone use them for creating an LLC.

    Original Review: I started setting up an LLC through LegalZoom and it was super easy to fill out the information, about a day later I got a call that there was a problem with my order, I called and they said they were too busy and would call me back in 2 hours when they had less call volume, I was at work when they called back and could not take the call and eventually I was able to speak with someone and supposedly get the issue resolved. 5 days later I get the same message that something was wrong with my order and went through the same process.

    This same thing happened 3 times and I was finally informed that it should be good to get sent to the state and that it would now be an additional $159. I had no idea that there would be any additional costs and I was not about to go forward with them springing this on me after all this. I am cancelling and will hopefully get a full refund on Monday but seeing how it has worked so far I am sure they will make it a very difficult process to cancel.

    I am not even going to wait for a reply from LegalZoom before writing this review, if I had any clue how this was going to be I simply would have filed this paperwork myself. I registered a LLC, first off when you do so through LegalZoom they register your LLC in their name, this way they can force you to pay extra fees, I paid $324 to form my LLC, it is now registered to LegalZoom, now they want me to pay an additional $157 for a agent, this is very shady, first off if I pay you $324 dollars, you need to register my LLC in my name, not yours, why do I want to pay that much to give you the ability to strongarm me ? I would advise staying away from this company.

    I ordered their Wevorce package to file for divorce. After using it for five minutes I realized it wasn’t the right program because my wife had already filed. I didn’t even fill in any pertinent info such as date of marriage, name of wife or child, or occupation. I contacted them within an hour for a refund and they said it goes against their policy to issue a refund saying I already used their product and wasn’t eligible for a refund, via email. When I called, they said they would call me back within two days and they failed in that service also. I thought they would have a good service product but service doesn’t seem to be their thing.     I've been using Legal Zoom for 6 years as my registered agent. In this time they have: Consistently sent mail to the wrong address, jeopardizing my anonymity. Sent all communications to the wrong email address, so that I missed out on compliance reminders for 5 years. Despite repeated, hours-long calls where I was transferred from one agent to the next, they continued to send emails and mail to the wrong addresses. Some of the reps were nice enough but knew close to nothing about the services or legal terminology. You have no access to anyone with any legal training or knowledge. That happens by trusting a rep will send an email to someone who never returns a phone call. I am now in danger of receiving hundreds of dollars of fines due to the Legal Zoom errors. Worst money, in business, that I've ever spent.

    The price for a 'registered agent' service I had been buying from LegalZoom went up by over 60% year over year. Considering I was getting almost nothing for the service anyway (as in they were doing almost no work on my behalf) I decided to cancel. I went through hell on their "customer NOT service" line, having to call back on three separate days and getting shuffled around from person to person, who asked me the same questions repeatedly. Unbelievable how difficult they made this - I should have just been able to perform this very simple task on their website. Will not use them again, and strongly recommend others avoid as well.

    The number one reason I signed up was because I thought they would help me since they claim to be experts in legal law & taxes. My first time starting a business, I didn't understand what I was getting in to, they sell you a bunch of packages that they claim will help but nobody has helped me do my taxes yet, I haven't received a tax form or anything to do my business taxes. I'm totally lost as to what I have to do. Now I have to pay a real expert and LegalZoom wants me to pay an extra fee just to cancel their stupid plans. Paid almost $1000 on this piece of **.     I have AT&T smart answer phone system. They use an automated system to call back. The purpose of the smart answer system is to block automated calls. When I realized what was going on, I intercepted the call. They were easy to deal with. The first advisor gave me the URL and serial number to track my trademark application. The second advisor canceled the Business Advisory Plan. As a result of treatment once I got a hold of them, I am revising my review. They may be over-priced, but they deliver what they promise.

    It is difficult to cancel the Business Advisory Plan. DO NOT GET! Save yourself the trouble. Do not agree to the Trial Business Advisory Plan. They keep charging and there is no easy way to cancel. When you call, they offer to call you back, but no one calls. Read the reviews on Consumer Affairs and take their advice. I paid for the trademark application. I have not heard back on that aspect of their services.

    I signed up for LegalZoom a year ago to get a will together. Had one 5 minute conversation with an attorney. Fast forward one year later and I see a $119 charge on my credit card statement from LegalZoom. When I called, I was put on hold for 30 minutes. They said that I was enrolled in some auto plan to get access to their attorneys for advice - - a service I never agreed to. And even I did, why wasn't there an invoice or a payment confirmation sent when I was charged? They charged me for some fee without sending an invoice or even a payment confirmation. HOW SKETCHY IS THAT?

    It's very obvious they are trying to hide the charges hoping people won't notice. I asked where is the evidence showing I signed up for this auto service (they couldn't provide it so they said they would issue me a refund). I also asked for my credit card info to be removed from their system and they said they couldn't do that! This company is seriously shady! Do yourself a favor and get yourself a real attorney and not waste any money on these clowns! Extremely unethical company!

    Do not waste your time and money with LegalZoom. I set up an LLC and eventually needed executed a Standard Company Dissolution. I was told it would take 30 days and we are now going into the 7th month! The lack of communication and follow through is remarkable. In addition to dragging out simple set of tasks they require you continue paying a Registered Agent Service fee. The quote of $600.00 to execute a Standard Company Dissolution is now at $1600.00 - I don't mind paying extra and required fees but that should be stated in advance. I have no idea when they are going to complete this as each conversation I have with customer service leads me to believe it will be a week. April 2nd I spoke with a CS rep who told me my faxed paperwork was readable and they would send it off to finalize and today when I logged into my account I see Action Required. The new CS rep tells me they don't have the fax. HOW?

    I signed up for LegalZoom to be my registered agent. It's a yearly agreement and I can cancel before the one year term. I called LegalZoom to cancel before the term starts again, and LegalZoom said that as soon as they received the notification from Secretary of State, it will be automatically canceled. So, 3 months passed and I got a bill from my credit card company. LegalZoom charged my credit card over $ 400.00 without my knowledge. Never got a receipt from them, and charge my credit card on file which is expired. I called my credit card company, and it's still under investigation. My message to everybody is to beware of LegalZoom. They are not trustworthy. Even your card is expired LegalZoom can still charge your card.

    I am writing this review to not only warn fellow business owners but to also hopefully get the attention of the LegalZoom management team. My experience began years ago when I decided to have LegalZoom serve as my registered agent. First go around, there were no issues. Second was a completely different story. It started in the sales department with a guy named Brian. Great sales person, the most horrific customer service person I have ever dealt with.

    Everyone knows the famous quote, “the buck stops here”, right? Well, the buck stops nowhere at this company because every single person I have spoken to has dropped the ball. The last lady promised to resolve my issue and follow up and for a moment I was hopeful she would keep her word. She too failed to let me know/if when things were resolved. My company is on the brink of being dissolved due to LegalZoom’s gross failure in communication. My hope in spending the time to write this review is that fellow consumers think before using this company and that LegalZoom may improve their training and review what went wrong with my experience.

    I have been with LegalZoom since 2015. And I would not advise anyone to have business with them. I owe money to the state now, due to the negligence of LegalZoom not filing the proper annual reports from 2016 to 2018. However, LegalZoom has taken money out of my account each year for these and reports, and even with the payment history of proof that I do have they have refused to refund me my money or to comply with the North Carolina state laws in order to reinstate my business name. Because of them I now owe the state of North Carolina $700 plus a reinstatement fee in order for my business name to be back in good standings. The only thing that LegalZoom offered at this point was a refund for the year of 2018.

    I will be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau for further investigation and also get the law involved. No one should have to go through this after putting all their hard-earned money into a service that is supposed to be helping them rather than destroying their business name. The only compensation that LegalZoom offered was to refund for the year of 2018 but will not give me a refund for 2016 and 17. That is beyond unfair and complete robbery! I do not understand how in the world LegalZoom could file for 2015, and skip over 2016 and 17 and want to file 2018 knowing that this business name has been penalized and they won't do anything to fix it.

    When I asked the department for the state of North Carolina who was the registered agent, they also stated that LegalZoom was my registered agent. I wanted to make sure that I had all my duckets in order before I call LegalZoom with my proof of payment history and what I'm paying them for. And as a registered agent of my business I do not understand why the negligence for these few years past, but you had no problems taking the money directly out of my account that was specifically for the annual reports to be done. I asked three agents of LegalZoom to transfer me to a supervisor and I wanted to speak with that supervisor that day. Coincidentally they still have not transferred me to a supervisor. And they also told me that there's nothing that they can do on their end and made it clear that they would not be giving me my money back for 2016 and 17. What!

    Well I am writing this on the verge of tears because I am so incredibly frustrated with this company. They have cost me $800 in fees that I will need to pay due to major incompetence on their part. (Not filing an important document.) Not only are they in error, but I can not speak directly with anyone who is responsible for this error. I have made multiple attempts to email customer service with absolutely no response. It is extremely difficult to reach anyone by phone and when I finally do, they have no authority to assist me with my account. All they can do is read from a script and refuse to transfer me to anyone who can help. I have never been so lied to and disrespected by any business in my life. I am not exaggerating. This is the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. Please if you value your sanity and hard earned money, avoid this horrible company.

    I went to Legal Zoom to get a DBA for my personal business. I started the process in 8/2017. I thought that Legal Zoom would be able to navigate around the requirements with the county etc. I assumed Legal Zoom had a understanding of what would be needed, so I would not waste time going back and forth with any errors on paperwork.

    Well, 8 months later I still don't have my DBA. The system is so frustrating at Legal Zoom. First the automated everything, from the phone calls, messages and even the online account access. No details just vague "please call Legal Zoom for updates on your order". So it's like chasing your tail. Then I had to send the paperwork in several times because the communication sucks. After a back and forth for 5 months the paperwork was sent to the county clerks office. I get a call 3 months later saying that the paperwork expired and I need to re-submit it and get the paperwork notarized yet again. I asked to speak to a supervisor because something was not adding up, when I ask I was told no supervisor was available.

    I asked, "When will one be?" She stated that she can ask and someone would call me in 24-48 hours. That was on a Thursday. I did not get a call until 6 days later and when I did it was not a supervisor. It was someone else asking me to send in the paperwork (side note, even if I had decided to re-submit the paperwork it would not be processed that quickly as I would have to go to a notary and send it via snail mail to Austin, TX) so that just adds to the confusion.

    I spoke with a gentleman this time around and he stated the same thing, I asked why the paperwork expired. He said it is only good for 90 days, when I explained that I submitted the paperwork at the end of December and now it's April, what confidence do I have that this would not happen again? He said that was the only way to get the need met. I told him that I understood what needed to be done, that was not the problem. The issue that I have is I will not keep following a process that is not working. I asked once the paperwork was received by Legal Zoom how long would it take to get the information back from the county clerks office? He said 15-25 days.

    I said, "Ok, I waited 3 months, why am I just finding out about this now?" Silence, no answer. He said that the county clerks office could have lost it, or misfiled it. That it was outside the control of Legal Zoom, so I explained that it is not the fault of Legal Zoom what happens at the County office, but it is the responsibility of Legal Zoom to follow up and check in and that's what they did not do. Legal Zoom is not doing what they agreed to if they're finding out 3 months after the fact that they don't have what they need. I asked for a full refund.

    This has been such a hassle, I did get a refund however, I have lost money in notary fees, tax write offs for 2017 and now time lost for being productive in my business. This has been going on for 8 months! I will never use this service again, and I will never recommend this service to anyone that I know.     I have been calling customer care for 2 weeks looking for an update on why my DBA application has not been completed yet. LegalZoom submitted it to the SOS back on February 27th! I have been told every day that the paperwork is with the County Clerk's Office and that LegalZoom "Management" contacted the clerk's office to obtain an update on March 27th. It has been 5 business days since, yet there has been no updated and NOBODY from LegalZoom has followed up with the County Clerk's Office since. I have just contacted the clerk's office myself only to find out that they do not have my application and that it was never submitted to them! Can someone PLEASE get a handle on this?!?!     I used the company to start an LLC, thinking it would save me time and be completed quickly especially since I bought the expedited service. It took nearly 5 weeks and in that time frame I was on calls with them for between 7-8 hours, because I kept getting calls saying that the order was placed on hold because they needed more information from me to move forward. When I’d call I get the runaround and no one knew why the order kept getting placed on hold. When the order was finally completed, the site said my order had been shipped (the documents), but when I tracked the package with USPS it said that USPS was waiting for the drop off- the site showed this “pre-shipment” stage for a week. When I finally decided to call, they couldn’t figure out what the hold up was. The company is purely incompetent! The company is a scam! And I blame myself, I should’ve just buckled down and completed this on my own.

    I have been using LegalZoom for years and I can tell you that their services have changed and they have become one of the least professional companies that you may want to deal with. We started a new company and used LegalZoom to register and set it up in December 2017. It is March 2018 and nothing has been done they have said the state has delays and every excuse you can imagine. So we went online at LegalZoom today to see where we are. It shows delayed so we call them and they tell us it is delayed at the state and they sent the paperwork to the state on 03/07 and it should take 16 days for delay with state. So we called the state, it was sent back as they put it as a PA and not an INC which is was all the docs say. BTW and the state says you can have it back in 24 hours.

    So they lie, they do not do what they are paid in advance to do and cannot be trusted. I want my money refunded and I will register my company with a local lawyer. I plan to post a review to every social site there is. I am more disturbed that we entrust a legal company of lawyers as they say they are to get the services done and they blatantly lie to you. HOW can they be trusted...

    I used LegalZoom in the past for my LLC. After selling business they call and send snail mail 2-3 times a wk. I called multiple times to be removed, but am told I no longer own this company, so I cannot be removed... Well yes... they are correct. The reason I don't want their mail! I have moved (second residential location) and still receive junk mail, all that say late payment, or bill due. But mail is for signing up again. As a joke I have returned approximately a dozen pieces of mail, and wrote on the back as if they are my pen pal. Unless you FOREVER want to be contacted by them, stay far away. I honestly do not know of any other options besides collecting their harassing trash, or taking legal action.

    I have in the past used LegalZoom for various entities, but I would definitely NOT recommend them anymore. They entice you to pay more for expedited service, and then just take their time and don't deliver as promised. In my opinion, LegalZoom is a huge scam. I recently wanted to use their services to set up a non-profit organization, and agreed to pay $459 for expedited service.

    Over 2 weeks later, LegalZoom claimed they had not delivered the documents because there was a question pending. That question turned out to apply to an older application and an older entity already formed. They just used this as an excuse to take their time but still charge for expedited services. They have done this to me before, and I now intend to contact the Attorney General of California and complain of their failure to perform, and obtaining monies by false pretenses. Don't use LegalZoom! They are not an honorable organization, they put you on hold for literally hours, and then their customer service reps are just rude.

    I spent extra for a gold account to create an LLC in 7-10 days. I have been unable to contact anyone by email or phone. Their site keeps making me reset my password to get into my account. When I reset it, it work once and then I can't get in again. I sent them email and they state they will get back to me within two business days. And then I get another email asking me to contact them, I have been trying to completely cancel my account but there is no way to cancel within the account and when I send them email to cancel - they send me an email that they will contact me in 2 business days. And it keeps repeating. I can't get through on the phone as the wait time is always over an hour on weekdays and they are closed on the weekends. I am completely dissatisfied and have been totally ripped off.

    I am going on 4 months of dealing with getting a simple last will and trust. It is almost impossible to get a hold of anyone without having to wait an hour, they constantly put your order on hold and then do not let you know what you need unless you call them. Then when you do get to talk with someone they can't help you because they cannot give legal advice. I have scheduled attorney appointments, which I had to wait 2 weeks for the first time because they are only available from 2-5.

    I basically had to take time off work to get their phone call, then they called, the phone was disconnected and when I tried calling back they didn't answer. The second time, which I had to wait for again, I put in my paperwork just as the attorney told me to do and they still denied it. I WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND using LegalZoom. EVER. I have a very simple last will and testament and they can't process it because my wording in a section doesn't pass their initial automated phase.

    I ordered a simple incorporation. It took them 2 months to get me a document that should have taken them 5 mins to get to me. They'll put your order on hold but never call or email or let you know. You have to check your order online every day to make sure they get things done. I've called them numerous times and still nothing. I've talked to customer service multiple times over the past week and have heard multiple stories. I've tried to request a manager but to no avail. Save yourself the aggravation and hire a local attorney. Spend a little bit more money and save yourself a ton of time and aggravation.

    We contacted LegalZoom on the urgings of many, to set up an LLC for our Business in California. We have a VRBO short term rental property in Rancho Mirage. We contacted Legal Zoom, discussed the request and responded to all of the questions. We find now, after receiving the paperwork (over a month) we cannot use an LLC as the house is mortgaged and an LLC cannot be binding or used for this situation. We are stuck with over 300 bucks of worthless documents. When we called today we were advised we could contact the State where it is filed (we have not signed the documents sent to us) but that will cost us as well. I am not happy. I feel RIPPED off. No recourse? We called them to get guidance and get this done. That is why they are called "LegalZoom."

    Oh boy, where do I begin? This absolute scam of a company should close its doors. The amount of time I wasted on fixing problems that they caused was much longer than it would have taken to just submit the paperwork myself. I chose LegalZoom because I thought when I signed up for the operating agreement option that I would be getting a custom operating agreement, however, that was not the case. That was my first problem, but just the beginning of the massive headache.

    While in the application process, I checked a box that I was interested in learning more about Bank of America's business accounts, only to realize that this meant LegalZoom would send them all of my paperwork, before they even sent it to me. It was through Bank of America that I even found out my company had received its LLC. That seems completely backwards to me. The first time I called to discuss my grievances, I was on hold for almost an hr before deciding to accept a call back from them when it was my turn, however, they never called me back. I wasted an hr for NOTHING.

    I would like to preface this review by saying I take full blame for misplacing my LegalZoom documents, which were mailed to me 4 years ago when I established my LLC. Because LegalZoom has a "My Documents" section on their website, and because this is 20freaking18, I assumed would always have access to electronic copies of my documents. NOT SO! The individual who opened my business checking account at my credit union was brand new and did not collect all the proper documents. Fast forward years later, and now they are telling me they will close my account if they don't receive a bridge letter, showing my ownership of my LLC as filed with LZ.

    I emailed LZ customer support over a week ago telling them this was urgent: STILL NO RESPONSE. I emailed LZ customer support a second time using a different method: STILL NO RESPONSE. Finally I decided to call LZ customer support. They tell me that a PDF of the document will be sent to me within 1-2 business days. No caveats provided by them at that time. The 2nd business day is the deadline at my ban: after that day, they will CLOSE my business account. Major issue for me and the family that depends on me. The morning of the 2nd business day I call at 9:30 EST to confirm that I will receive the document. The represent I speak to assures me that if they said 1-2 business days, it will be 1-2 business days. Again, she mentions nothing that should pose a delay.

    At 4:38 EST on the second business day, I call again. This time, the LZ representative tells me that the department which handles the bridge letters is "extremely backlogged" -- as if this is a well-known fact company wide -- and that It was never going to be 1-2 business days. Funny, that's the first time anyone has mentioned this. She then tells me it would be faster for them to mail me a hard copy than to scan it to a PDF. Which is hilarious, since that's what I requested in the two emails no one ever responded to!!! Imagine that!

    I then make two simple requests: "May I please speak directly to someone in that department?" I am told NO. "Can someone from your crackerjack organization please send me an email acknowledging my request, and speaking to the backlog in the bridge letter department, so I can at least send that to my credit union and see if that can buy me some time?" Again I am told NO. LegalZoom, get your act together!!! Tl:DR: you get what you pay for and LZ is fine until you require actual help.

    I wish LegalZoom would have been honest about how long it would take them to make a power of attorney. I filled out and was told product would be available in 3 days (by 3/5). Immediately, I got an error. Apparently the software doesn't recognize that some people live in rural areas, so Rural Route post office box removed. Web screen shows it would be done 3/5. Address correction was done within 15 minutes of order (no work had been done on the order), but they used it as an excuse to give themselves an additional 2 days to complete order. I called on 3/6 and was promised product by 3/7 8pm. It is now 3/7 at nearly 11pm. Guess what - still no product. If they would have been honest I would have gotten an appointment with a real attorney and had the POA in hand.

    Oh did I mention that I chose the expedient option of printing and getting the notarizing done myself? Well, I did. It didn't speed things up. Save your money, save your time (long hold times to only get another excuse), and save yourself some frustration. I was considering using this company to update my will, etc. I have learned my lesson. I plan on calling my credit card company and filing a grievance to withhold payment in the morning. RUN, RUN AWAY. Don't use them.

    On December 12, 2017 I paid LegalZoom for a standard corporate dissolution. LegalZoom had set up my LLC themselves with myself as the owner. Still, they used my husband's name (a member) instead of mine on the paperwork. I have been through months of emails, robocalls and phone calls (like a previous reviewer mentioned - you'd better like classical music because you will be on hold for a long time) to get them to change and send this ONE line on this ONE page document.

    Today is March 7, 2018 and although they have managed to get my name correctly onto the document they emailed me, they claim to have never received the signed documents I mailed on February 18, 2018. I'm on their robocall list again and although their automated system leaves alarming voicemails it's frustratingly difficult to return their call and get an actual human on the line. I did call today and I'm waiting. Their automated system told me that I should expect a call back in 45 minutes.

    I'm giving up though. I'm going to download, and print this document, and do some googling to figure out where to send it. I don't know if I will have everything I need to complete this corporate dissolution myself but after months of inaction and ineptitude with LegalZoom at least I'll be able to get the ball rolling. I've already paid LegalZoom for the filing fees and I'll pay them again.

    Interestingly, when I did get a customer care person on the line he or she has been friendly, and they have all lived in Austin, TX. Over the months I've had some nice conversations with customer care there. They can see that the forms were sent to "Production" and that nothing has been done and are genuinely apologetic. Still, they never been able do anything about it.

    I try to open a corporation with this company, they charge me $500. They say it will be ready in 15 days. In 15 days they send me a message to call them. I call them and they told me that I have to correct the address to the state I was opening so I did. I wait another 15 days to see if my company was ready so I called them. They told me that I need it to change the address. I told them that I already did and they say that they didn't change it and that they will change it. I was holding a contract with a company until I have my corporation.

    I call again next week and they told me that they haven't do anything but if I wanted to cancel it I could. I say, "Just finish what you promised but do it now." I call next week after that to find out they have done nothing, so I just ask for my money back and they give it to me. They never even say sorry, I lost my contract and they just waste my time. Worse, worse, worse. I went to an office on the state I wanted to open it and they did in 5 days.

    I incorporated a business in March 2016 and elected Sub-S through LegalZoom. I received a letter from the IRS recently indicating that while I filed returns as a Sub-S, the IRS never received the proper form electing Sub-S. This was something that I paid for LegalZoom to handle. When I visit my LegalZoom company portal, I see that the company is a Sub-S. So, I reached out to LegalZoom to figure out what is going on. Guess what their email told me? There was a missing signature on the form and that I should contact the IRS to resolve it.

    When I called LegalZoom to understand why I never received any notice from them that there was an issue, no manager would talk to me. The only thing they offered was a refund of my $35 fee. Now, I have a bit of a mess on my hands which will probably cost me well more than $35 to fix. This could have been corrected back in March of 2016 when LegalZoom knew there was an issue and could have notified me to correct the form. This is a complete failure on something that is core to their existence and value as a company.

    I cannot even describe the amount of disgust I have for this company. I filed my S-corp paperwork on Jan 14th of 2018, on the 17th of January I was told my paperwork was delayed due to the state. I was also told it will take 25 business days to get my paperwork back. Well here I am 26 business days later and I was just told that the state told them I won't get an answer until early MAY!!! In this midst of all of this I spoke with nothing but incompetent people like Crystal and Cindy who have no clue on how to do their job. Always looking to pass the buck, told I can't speak to a supervisor the same day. Was told I can't even get a call back the same day. WELL On Feb. 9th when I was suppose to get a call back from a manager, but was just informed today Feb. 21st by Cindy that the managers felt there was no need to call me because there is NOTHING they can do to help me.

    I not only paid LegalZoom GOLD membership I paid them EXTRA to just handle my paperwork so that I personally wouldn't have to go to the State Department of State myself to get everything approved. Should have saved myself the money because clearly LegalZoom only cares about the money and sees me as a walking ATM not a trying to be business owner that they are delaying my process and are handicapping me from making money under my business name. I mean not only can I not get my business account started or get a credit card for the company, I can't even order something as simple as business cards or even advertise.

    When I spoke with Jeremy Monday Feb. 19th, not only did he handle my call extremely professionally but he actually made me feel like he wanted to help. He put a request in for someone to find out whats going on with the state, he even used the words "you're a gold member with us, it should not be taking this long." He informed me that I will be receiving a callback... Which brings me to today Feb. 21st on the phone with Cindy WHO I HAD TO CALL BECAUSE NO ONE CALLED ME. She then informed me someone spoke to the state and was told my order is not due back until early MAY! Cindy is just as bad as Crystal. Neither one of them had any intentions on wanting to help the very irate and very upset customer.

    I have said numerous times I was unhappy, even told Cindy that the only person who seemed like they wanted to at least try to help me was Jeremy, once I told her I was in the process of writing a review guess what, Cindy all of a sudden figured out how to do her job with customer service and goes, "I am going to put a request for a manager to call you back," (like the one I was suppose to get back on Feb. 9th). After being on hold for 26 mins just to fill out the request Cindy just informed me that I will receive a call back from management with the time frame of 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS.

    I honestly have never been so disgusted in my entire life, I want to vomit with how horrendous my experience has been with LegalZoom! I have absolutely nothing nice to say about the company just about the ONE AND ONLY guy that was helpful to me and treated me like a human being Jeremy. Will never ever recommend this company for any type of help or advice. They seriously the biggest incompetent company I have ever had to deal with.

    I paid for my product to be completed and sent to me 30 days after I registered for it. It is now 3 1/2 weeks later past due and I still have not received it. Every time I called to ask for help my so called account rep was always out of the office. When I finally did get someone it required an endless circle of acrobatics. They DO NOT make it easy to contact them. Then out of the blue they decided to charge me twice for something I already paid for after I had a discussion about the inconsistencies in my account profile overview. They obviously saw the mistake later to credit my account and I only found out what they were doing when I received an email stating this is what happened but no explanation or apology of any kind as to why they weren’t paying attention to their records on my payment history. The word I would use to describe this business is incompetent and uncaring.

    I just can't believe how incompetent LegalZoom. Your company deals with legal documents and you can't get the spelling of my last name twice! But it's been hell trying to correct it. I noticed my name last name was spelled incorrectly on the SEC database search, so I called in 2 weeks ago asking for the correction. I called back a week later asking for an update and the person on the phone said there was notes about my call but nobody has done anything about it so she is going to start the process for the correction.

    Three days later I get an email for a new order to correct my name. The correction order has my last name to be changed to ** which is still incorrect! I call again to notify LegalZoom it's still spelled incorrect and the person said they will take care of it. I call back today because I received an email stating additional information is needed for my order. So I call back again and the person on the phone is reviewing the order to correct my last name. When she told me the correction will change my name to ** I was speechless.

    This is completely unacceptable, I don't know how your company are suppose to assist clients with legal documents when you are unable to even get a client's name correct. On top of this, every time I call I am placed on hold for 30 mins. I have lost all faith and trust in LegalZoom for handling any of my legal documentation. I am voicing my experience with LegalZoom over the internet and social media so others should be cautioned when doing business with LegalZoom.

    I have used LegalZoom to set up corporations and LLC's in the past and I really did not have any problems with them. Until now! I filed for a S-Corp for a trucking company my son and I have decided to do. I sent my registration with LegalZoom on Jan 3rd and I noticed their website is much different. Once you enter all of your information they give you 3 options for payment the cheapest being "Economy". The time to process is shown and even with economy they show it could take up to 25 days to complete. That was not going to be a problem for me since we had to wait on the FMCSA to set up our operating authority and it would take about that amount of time. I started tracking LegalZoom’s progress and it started by saying it was delayed due to checking name availability in SC. I had already done that and even put a hold on the name so it would be available.

    It took me 15 seconds to check availability online but it took them 6 days. Then they had a delay for signatures saying they had to have wet signatures to file it with SC. I printed the forms signed and overnighted to them at another $45 expense. Even though they signed for them, they could not find the papers for 3 days. Then they started the current delay on Jan 16th when they filed and said SC was taking longer than expected to process the Corporation. I went online and SC filed the Corporation on the 22nd and I was able to print proof of the filing. Today is 2/6, 14 days later and LegalZoom is telling me that it is not filed yet. I shared with the lady that I was looking at the filing online and she said that doesn't mean anything??? Really? I will never use them again. I paid $468 for them to process this and I still do not have the Corporation 1 month and 4 days later.

    Filed a trademark through LegalZoom and what a NIGHTMARE OF HIDDEN FEES! First they charge me an extra $40 out of NOWHERE. I call them, they say that this is the business advisory plan. I never signed up for this. I cancel it, they promise a refund. A week later nothing. I go into my account and it is still active! I call back, cancel it a second time, they promise a refund yet again. Two days later... still active... no refund in my account. Call again, they promise for a third time to refund my money... STILL NOTHING. I did a chargeback with my bank and told them to block all future LegalZoom transactions. This was after about 6 hours on hold for 3 PHONE CALLS! NEVER AGAIN! I WANT MY TIME BACK!

    I use only their "Registered Agent Service". Each year they try to add in services not signed up for. Then when the auto renewal payment goes through you get billed for these services that you didn't sign up. Then the onus is on you to call up and cancel the service you never sign up for. Crafty way to bill for unauthorized services. They make it a hassle for customers to try and get the money back for a service they never requested, wanted or needed. I let agent know she should provide my feedback to management so they have a log to hopefully do away with such tactics in the future.

    She tells me they have not raised their prices for the service in years so they add extra services now to compensate. What kind of response is that? I mean really obviously that's true but are you really hiring people that dumb to voice your illegal tactics? I told her no need to defend the company. Just provide my feedback to the right people and she tells me I have to now be put on hold since I'm coming off abrupt. Haha. Who do they think they are? I then asked her for her name. She says she cant give hers out but will give me her managers which is Cris, I'm sure that was genuine. Either way LegalZoom.com hopefully this will get your attention since your service agent can't take a message. Also I put this on **. Have fun getting this review removed from there. In the future try not ripping people off and let your agents take a message.

    I have used these guys 3 times and every single time they claim I agreed to sign up for extra things they charge for. They are buried in the "terms and conditions" and they argue with you to cancel or remove the. Once I had to change my credit card to get the charges to stop. I will not use them again.     LegalZoom was used to create my LLC, set it up. Paid. Then due to name issues we wanted to change the name, paid again, my business partner was added. LegalZoom removed me, but continued to charge my credit card for services I did not want, nor ask for. When they were contacted they (Tracy) refused to help me since they (LegalZoom) removed me from the account without my say so. They also continue to send sales adverts to my email and try to charge my credit card regularly for services I do not want. Tracy told me there was no supervisor to speak to or help me, which I spoke to one previously (Hector).

    Be careful when doing business with this company, they will lie to you and make you believe they need to be your registered agent, when in fact you can add yourself as a registered agent and not have to pay a dime. I created a partnership through them and without consulting me they decided not to list the partners with the secretary of state. Now I'm having a whole lot of problems getting the secretary of state to change the partner names since I'm no longer with my partner.

    I called Legal Zoom regarding $159 charge on my credit card for a service for Legal Zoom to be my registered agent. I did not sign up for that service. I was told by Alicia that I needed to call the Secretary of State and tell them I don't want them to be my registered agent. Interesting there are several other complaints regarding the same thing. Very shady business practices by Legal Zoom.

    To make the situation worse, the Customer Service Agent I spoke with name Alicia was very combative and rude. She talked over me. She wouldn't let me finish what I was trying to say. When I asked for her last name she said the internet has too much information out there to provide last names. So I asked for an employee number. She said she didn't have one, that they only give out their first name. So if I wanted to complain, how would they know which Alicia it was I talked to, she said it was all recorded in my file. Not sure I believe that.

    Service providers are not only scored based on the services they provided (which they charge you for services you didn't ask for) but also the customer service provided. If you are going to provide a shady service, at least have a strong customer service department to handle customers calling in about their account. Alicia is a horrible representation for your company. If you have more people like her your company will not stay in business long.

    I sought the assistance of LegalZoom to set up my 501 (c) 3 Non Profit. Having saved canines for 3 decades I wanted to earn legal status for the sole purpose to gain grants and sponsors for me higher cost medical Rescue dogs. Being on a tight budget, their services sounded legit based on good advertising and great website. Sadly my 501 was incomplete. I paid $900 with the understanding of a ONE-time annual fee. I now find out that they have taken 3 additional unauthorized "annual fees" never approved! $700 is a lot of money to Me these days. My health took an unexpected turn and my budget is taxes beyond measure. I wanted to voice my experience and am sad to do so, but their arrogance and covert tactics taking advantage of good people is appalling... 98% of all reviews I write are positive.     I have filed for dissolution of LLC and received a message that they were waiting on my signatures and emailed me the package which they never did. I called customer service and spent about 6 hrs over 2 days to find out what's happening and the agent kept transferring call to different people. After the documents were submitted to my state, I came to find out that they were Flawed documents and got rejected.     I called in to speak to someone about a trademark after I used them to do my business incorporation. The disgusting way they treat you the minute that your services has been rendered is terrible. I've had 2 guys hang up on me because they weren't attorneys and wanted a sale. Both times they refuse to let me speak to a supervisor and decided it would be best to lose my business and disrespect me at the same time. I would prefer Rocket Lawyer or a real attorney, LegalZoom doesn't have attorneys and you will not be able to speak to one. Get a REAL Lawyer!!

    I gifted an LLC to my partner and within 2 weeks, received my letter of confirmation. Then 1 week after that, I see a charge for $159 for a service I did not request. I chose the option to NOT use LegalZoom to be my Registering Agent, yet they charged me - a recurring fee! - anyway. I immediately called the same day the charge was shown on my card. After the automatic system hung up on me 3 times, I called and chose to stay on hold to prevent the hang ups. Eventually, I got a human representative and was told that LegalZoom couldn't cancel this charge (that they added to my bill after I paid the initial bill) but would have to go to my state government to change the RA. That's **, so I disputed the charge with my finance company and will be moving away from using LegalZoom for anything else. I will let others know of my experience as well.

    I recently used LegalZoom to file my LLC. I specifically denied certain services regarding using LegalZoom as a registered agent and they filed in anyways. I contacted LegalZoom who then told me to just "call the secretary of State" and they can change it over the phone and LegalZoom would refund me the $159 for this issue. This was false information. It will cost me more money to change this info with the state, via mailing a letter. I contacted LegalZoom again and the guy I spoke with literally did not care at all and just rambled off LegalZoom canned customer service statements. Use Rocket Lawyer or someone else, this was a HUGE mistake.

    I tried to use Legal Zoom to create a very simple Living Will. Not only was I unimpressed with the actual service offered for the price (very basic web form that didn't allow for any degree of specificity in how assets were to be distributed) but you are automatically enrolled in their "Legal Services" $15/mo subscription for any one-time purchase. This enrollment is deliberately hidden and even was marked as "inactive" on the "My Account" screen on the website and yet I was charged $15 on a recurring basis. The only way to cancel this subscription is to call during business hours and wait for 40+ minutes (!) on hold for a representative. Clever advertising, poor service and deceptive billing/enrollment making it INCREDIBLY difficult to cancel something you never signed up for in the first place - especially if you have a job and don't have an hour to kill on the phone during their limited business hours.

After that was scheduled, I had a consultation with 1800 accountants and it was there that they tried to charge me $16000 per year for their services. Umm, what? No thank you.     Was told it would take two weeks to set up a corporation. After a month and a half we had to take matters into her own hands. We went to our state’s Prothonotary office and filed the correct paperwork and within the day we were Inc. come to find out LegalZoom cannot incorporate your business without jumping through a lot of hoops that you can just do yourself so it takes for months for what would take you days at a fraction of the price. I highly suggest not to hire this company. Just do a tiny bit of homework and you’ll see how easy it is to do yourself because this company did and will continue to lie to you.

    They kept our money and they said they performed what we hired them to do but we did it ourselves. All they did was file one piece of paper with the state for additional $400 that was rejected by the state because they have no legal right to do so in the first place so again they will lie to you - are you doing is paying them for your permission for them to fill out one piece of paper.

    I received a notice LegalZoom was going to charge me close to $300 for annual renewal. I did not receive a notice for the prior year and I was charged for a service I did not receive. In addition, I had to call LegalZoom to cancel the subscription service. I then was informed to cancel the service they were going to charge me to update my annual state report. When I told LegalZoom, the state had contacted me directly telling me that if I did not update the report, they would cancel my LLC. I have never received any type of notification for services from LegalZoom. However, after spending an hour on the phone, they did credit me and canceled my subscribed services.

    My law partner and I were starting a new law firm and decided to have LegalZoom register our Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) with the Secretary of State and obtain our EIN. We thought it would be quicker and simpler to have LegalZoom perform these tasks instead of doing it ourselves. We needed the documents back from the Secretary of State quickly because without them we could not open a bank account in the name of the partnership. We ordered LegalZoom's Express Gold Limited Liability Package. Our 1-page application was submitted to the Secretary of State on September 15, 2017. When I went to my account on the LegalZoom website to see how things were progressing, it said our order was "Delayed" and held up at the Secretary of State's office. I went to the Secretary of State's website and according to the website, our order should have been in process.

    On October 4, I called LegalZoom's customer service to see what the problem was and LegalZoom told me that they would contact the Secretary of State, find out what the delay was, and in the meantime obtain my EIN. They told me I would hear back from them in 48-72 hours and it would take just a day to get me my EIN. I did not get a call back from LegalZoom, nor did I receive an EIN. I called LegalZoom the following week. They expressed concern over these failures. I was told, again, that they would contact the Secretary of State and call me back within 48-72 hours. They also told me they would obtain the EIN. They did obtain the EIN, but never called back with news from the Secretary of State regarding the status of our LLP registration.

    In the meantime, my partner called the Secretary of State. He was told that our LLP had been registered, and he was given an entity number. He was also told that the registration documents had been ready for LegalZoom since October 5. I called LegalZoom again. They expressed concern again. They told me they would contact the Secretary of State and contact me within 48-72 hours to let me know the status of the order. They failed to contact me again. And, on and on it went. Finally, my partner and I just paid the Secretary of State to get a copy of our registration since we needed it to open a bank account.

    So I currently, have a copy of the LLP registration documents in my hands, and LegalZoom STILL is saying that the processing of my documents is delayed at the Secretary of State. LegalZoom did refund me the Expedite fee, but I have asked them to refund further money since they did not provide the service that I paid for -- I.e., LLP registration documents. They told me they would consider my request for a further refund if I sent them a copy of the LLP registration documents to prove I had actually obtained them myself.

    I sent an email asking where I should send the documents. LegalZoom's auto-reply said I would l hear back from a customer service representative in one business day. Surprise, Surprise. It has been two business days and I have not heard back from LegalZoom. They have not delivered the LLP registration papers I paid for and are still saying that processing is being held up by the Secretary of State. They have no explanation for their repeated failure to call me back with status. Really just a horrible experience.

    I tried to use these folks to create a DBA. Information submission was quick and easy. It was all downhill after that. A couple days later I receive a message that I entered too many characters in my business description. When asking why the system hadn't detected this during the submission process I was told that different states have different limits. You would think that if they know this their developers would write this into the code, which I suggested they do. The CSR then shared that all had been corrected and I would receive a signature email within the next couple days. Couple days later, still not received. Cut to the chase, a process that was slated to take a total of three weeks has been a nightmare and 3 weeks later I have not progressed since my initial call.

    No signature page ever received, 4 calls to help desk with same information being shared by each person..."you should receive an email in a couple days." Help desk phone calls not returned, requests to speak with managers not granted, requests to have managers call me got nowhere. Extended on-hold times 15 minutes or more), disconnected calls... Luckily I received a refund while being told they would still do the work. AVOID THIS BUSINESS LIKE THE PLAGUE! Lack of knowledge, follow-up, and efficiency is the worst I have ever dealt with and I don't understand how they are still in business. Hopefully, others will read this before enlisting their support. I wish I would have read other's reviews!!!

    I started this process at the exact same time a friend of mine started his LLC. He went through his accountant and I decided I would save a couple bucks and go through LegalZoom. He had his LLC registered and his EIN # with the IRS by the end of the week. Here I am over a month later and still going back and forth with their help department. I stressed I needed this sooner than later, that has gotten me absolutely nowhere!!! I made a HUGE mistake going through LegalZoom. I'm positive I would have done much better by myself watching self help Youtube videos. Don't use this company. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!! Pay an accountant, do it yourself, any other avenue than LegalZoom. Learn from my mistakes and thank me later.

    Non-profits, save your money and don't use LegalZoom for your IRS 1023 filing. LegalZoom doesn't save you work... It forces you to duplicate your work. You answer LegalZoom's questionnaire, then Legal Zoom sends you a document with answers to the questions. The software is supposed to put your answers in the correct spot. This does not work well at all. You need to spend a lot of time beefing up answers, copying and pasting answers from one question to another, etc. HUGE WASTE OF TIME. If you want to call LZ, prepare for a LONG wait on hold. LZ adds NO VALUE. There is NO POINT to buying this service. I feel RIPPED OFF.

    The LLC formation couldn't have been easier and I was at one time a satisfied customer. The trouble came when I went to register my trademark. I feel like they should have been able to tell me it would be rejected. Otherwise what am I paying $200 for? To fill in the forms? When I got my rejection letter from USPTO, a trademark attorney reviewed my case for free and told me after like 5 minutes I didn't have a chance.     I liked the fact that it was easy to locate what kind of legal services I was looking for. The website is laid out neatly so you can navigate without much problems. The amount of legal experts they have are so nice. I wanted to set up a will. The process was very easy to use, in fact I had found an expert right in away in less than 25 minutes, and went through all the legal proceedings and he spoke very clearly and was very easy to understand my rights and what all it details to set up a will. However someone I knew had a small issue with the service, the person said they tried to use the chat feature they have on there to speak with someone right away. The complaint was that the person took forever to respond back and even after doing so was very slow and it took too long to get anywhere, but I did not have this problem however.

    I liked how we were able to incorporate quickly without hassle. They anticipate all the needs that a start-up may have and have services and professionals that can assist you. My opinion is that for a smaller emerging company LegalZoom can handle all your needs. They also made available a rather extensive library of documents that are handy to have in every companies' toolbox. There is not much you can say about them unless you are a larger company and need specialized legal help. For a small or emerging or startup they are really perfect for the job. It's really simple to engage them, their website makes it easy to choose what services and at what level you require. This has really been thought out quite carefully by them and over the years I've watched this concept become a really big deal.

    First I signed up for an account, then I verified my information through my email address. After that I submitted my question and then was directed to the appropriate area of expertise or with lawyers of that same expertise to make sure that my question went to the proper area. When I used LegalZoom, I was happy that I was contacted within twenty-four hours and the cost was minimal. My question was answered to the point and he even elaborated a little bit more and helped me instead of letting me submit another question and have to pay another fee. I wish that they would have someone there to answer questions on the weekends. On a couple of different occasions I have had questions that I needed answered but was only able to ask on a Friday, so I had to wait until Monday to receive an answer. But other than that, they are very prompt, honest and professional. I would recommend using them again in the near future.

    It was really awesome, my lawyer was really friendly and professional and very straightforward. It was extremely easy to use and there were no challenges that were presented. I really liked how they handled me and my case, it was exceptionally wonderful. However the customer service could have been a little bit better.     LegalZoom is fast and affordable. I like that they have professional lawyers and I like that the lawyers are courteous and know their stuff. I also like their fee structure. It's very client friendly. My experience was good and the process is very simple.     I first researched the different online legal sites through an online search, and I also attended a trade show that showcased many sites. I then read reviews, discussed it with my colleagues and then we came to a joint decision to purchase LegalZoom first. We all agreed that it had all the features and services that we were looking for and the experience and knowledgeable staff we wanted. LegalZoom is a very user friendly site. I feel very comfortable using it and it reassures me and my company. I like that I can access attorneys online to ask questions or over the phone. I also like that it has a law database depending on your industry to look up and refresh on certain laws. Furthermore, I like that they help you with paperwork, wills, and contracts within your company and any pending settlements.

    There are a variety of options to obtain either advice or services, and everything was pretty easy for my particular experience. Legal Zoom was simple to use and I was able to find everything I needed. There was a little bit of delay as on one part of the site I had a difficult time finding an answer to a question that I had. I would add a better interface to navigate all features of the site, as some are a bit difficult. But overall it was a fairly seamless experience.

    LegalZoom has all the forms that you need to get your business started and to get your personal effects in order. You can do wills and estate planning without having to hire a lawyer which will save you money and time. I just love it. However, some of the forms are hard to understand and LegalZoom would need a glossary of terms so that you can really sink your teeth into what you are reading. Still, it is extremely user friendly and they make it simple so that you don't have to guess at what you're doing. You fill in lines and your forms are done.

    LegalZoom is definitely a clean site. It is easy to navigate, and get to what you're looking for help. The color choices were great too, as it didn't hurt my eyes to read information on the site, as many sites do. Overall, it is a nice site. Unfortunately, for my needs, there was little to no help. I don't like that LegalZoom is limited to the type of help they offer. I can understand not having criminal attorney help, but advisors on what one should do to move forward, would be nice. I don't have any criminal issues, but do civil issues, and the site was lacking in that department as well.

    We looked at several online legal sites of that nature and LegalZoom seemed to be by far the best. They are online service where you can go and print off and create basic legal documents and contracts etc. It was simple to use. We were able to prepare the needed documents in a matter of less than one hour at a fraction of the price as hiring a lawyer would have been. There is a fee but it is a fraction of the cost of hiring a lawyer. Truthfully I wish it would have been around years ago when I needed lots of contracts and documents drafted and created.

    LegalZoom made it very simple to understand how to use their website and what I need to do while I'm there. Even for someone that is not big into law, I was able to figure everything out. I was able to accomplish everything I needed in a decent amount of time. The service sped the process up. However, it may have been more helpful to have more explanations of WHY rather than what to do. I could easily figure out what to input and where to input it, but it's hard to understand what the relevance of some materials are.

    These guys do provide the bare minimum for business services for my LLC which I registered in a different state. What gets me is the sneaky recurring billing on their "free trial" services and the fact that you have to call them to be dissuaded from cancelling the service after you hit "cancel service." It's a tactic to make it easier to just let them keep billing. Once you do call, after about an hour on hold, there's always some reason you can't roll back their services. Dislike very much. But they've made it juuust more inconvenient to leave than to grin and bear it.

    The process is not all that complicated but you do have questions if you are getting the proper forms for your State or Jurisdiction and there seems to be no guarantee of that. It would be better if LegalZoom could somehow give you a visual contact with an attorney at a reasonable fee. This should be similar to a live chat giving you the opportunity to ask questions for verification.

    LegalZoom have been charging my credit card for services I, never asked for, even declined when they offered it. I had to call my bank to stop them. They took, $854 in 6days for imaginary services. Customer service was rude and unprofessional. I had to cancel my order in hiring them to create a company, then receive a refund from them. When, time to refund me my money came, they backed up and said they don't have to refund me and went further, asking remaining balance to pay them. Stay away from this company, they lie and will tell everything you want to, know to get on, hold of your credit card.

    First of all, if you need to speak with anyone expect to wait on hold for an hour (no joke!) and then when they finally answer, also don't be surprised if the connection disconnects! This has happened to me many times (and I have never left my seat at my desk). Also, if you think you are doing yourself a favor by opting into the call back from them... Good Luck if it actually happens. I am still waiting on my callback from 2 days ago! Seriously, I am a Business Owner and I will NEVER EVER use LegalZoom. It is not just this one time, I have created 4 LLC's with them and have paid them for all the "extra work" they do... Not worth a penny! The worst experience ever! Also, they are only asking for one order number that I am not happy with... I have three order numbers besides this one!

    I paid LegalZoom to start an LLC, and bought the additional "expedite" option because my business had to be operational by a certain day to receive funding. Almost a month later, the state said that they had just received the paperwork, and that it would be 10-15 business days until completion, which would have ruined us. I asked if we could expedite, and they said they could for an additional fee, which LegalZoom had not paid. When I spoke to their very rude customer service, they explained that the additional fees I paid were to expedite LegalZoom's processes, and not the state's. I asked why I didn't have my papers completed within their estimated time frame, and they said that it was an estimation, and that it was ultimately in the hands of how quickly the state would process the papers, which is blatantly untrue, as the state explained that they didn't receive my papers until about 3 weeks after I had paid LegalZoom.

    Ultimately, I paid a few times as much as I would have if I went directly to the state, and had to wait weeks longer than I otherwise would have. (The clerk at the dept. of commerce also said LegalZoom was a scam, and had no idea why people would use it.) Now I'm trying to cancel the auto renew, which they won't do until I have them removed as the Registered Agent on the LLC, which their terrible customer service rep very tersely explained. And they also snuck in a $30/month service in which the "first month is free" that I didn't notice for several months. When I tried to get a refund, they "transferred" me to that department, which just put me on hold for over an hour before I hung up... So, watch that fine print.

    First of all, they overcharge for what they are offering which I knew at the time but figured it was worth it to not have to deal with the hassle. Other than that? Ok let me tell you my experience. So they formed an LLC in the state of Washington for me back in March 2015, which went pretty smooth, or so I thought. In June, they call me telling me that they didn't file the paperwork correctly and that they would fix it since it was their fault. Uh, yeah, I hope so. What they filed was an annual report, but it should've been an initial report. They finally did get the correct paperwork filed, but it took them another two months to do it. Ok, so that was their first error.

    I continue with my business as usual and choose to have them file an annual report in 2016. Ok, so everything is fine, or so I thought - again. So anyway, in November of 2016 I get a letter from the Washington Secretary of State saying that my business has been administratively dissolved because my annual report was never filed! WTF! I call LegalZoom and I’m pretty agitated that I have paid them about $2,300 at this point and they cant even file a simple annual report and now my business is dissolved. They tell me that there's nothing they can do, but they gave me a credit of $93. Really?

    So anyway I have moved to a different state and want to move my business to the new state. So, I guess I'm a sucker, I call LegalZoom again so they can be my registered agent in the new state. I explain my situation and they tell me that I’ll have to pay them to dissolve my business in WA and get a new one in the new state. I explain to them that thanks to them my business is already dissolved in WA because they didn't file my paperwork correctly. Please avoid at all costs. If you need to form an LLC just Google the state's requirements and do it yourself. You will save money and a lot of headache. You will need a registered agent, but just Google one with good reviews. DO NOT USE LEGALZOOM!! Really!! I wish I had known better :(

    I tried LegalZoom Living Trust bundle because I have properties in US and Canada and I want to include them in the trust so my children do not need to go through probate process. There was no disclosure anywhere that LegalZoom cannot handle properties outside US. There was no space and values to select anything other than 'States'. There should be a disclosure upfront so that we do not waste tons of time and efforts and $ and not get a complete trust done, or better still, why not expand your legal coverage to outside US. It's just a simple trust document! If you can't do the deed, get someone to do it.

    I started an S-Corp on LegalZoom. Not for first timers... Several items were left open ended and when I was past due on returning documents there was no follow up. Calls to customer service were not returned in less than 20 minutes by on the 2 occasions I tried to reach them. The first time, when I got the call back, and it dropped, they made no attempt I could see to try me again. Their fax machine was busy on multiple occasions, when I needed to send documents. Here's the work-around, email documents to BZSupport@legalzoom.com. Finally got someone on the phone and all was fine.

    I'm sure they have satisfied customers. However, if you have any issues (we decided to change our name WELL before they started any process on our order.) count on a very frustrating experience. It seems like their customer service people have little communication with the people who actually process the information taken on a call. After several calls we finally got them to acknowledge we got to them in time to change our name and that it would be taken care of "no problem." Well they took care of the change on the federal filings but not the state filings. Federal was OK, state was under our old name. They also produced all the documents - Operating Agreement, transfer of authority, etc. - under the old name.

    Also I've notice that now I'm getting a Legal Zoom charge of $7.00 a month on my credit card for something I have no idea what for. At first (before my order was processed) I could get in touch with their customer service within minutes. Now, (my order has processed) after asking for my order number (which the system is incapable of taking - goes to recording after enter only a few numbers) they give you the option of a call back. I was told I'd get a call back in 20 minutes. That was 3 hours ago. Seems they're not anxious to talk to you after they've got your money and you're not looking to do anymore fee producing business.

    At any rate their hold time since I became a customer runs into hours not minutes. Other than the documents they mail, you will have not have any other copies pdf's etc. So if you need changes you will need a scanner with image conversion software to make any changes unless you call them and ask, which I'm sure they'll require a fee for. Like I said, if things go without a hitch you'll probably be fine. If you have a problem good luck.

    Buyer Beware! I'm sure LegalZoom has plenty of satisfied customers but I'm not one of them. I hired LegalZoom in 2015 to create and register a new business entity on my behalf with the IRS and my home state. When choosing the services I wanted LegalZoom to perform I selected for them to NOT handle any further/ongoing filings (like annual reports, etc). I did not pay them for that service as my CPA handles my annual filings for my entities. When they registered the new entity with the state, they entered THEIR contact information for state notifications to the business. The state has sent numerous emails to them (their email address is on file) regarding filings for my business over the past 12 months and they never responded or forwarded those notifications to me.

    Due to myself and my CPA not receiving the notifications we failed to file documents that the state was requesting and now have penalty fee of $900.00!! I called LegalZoom today to ask why they input their information as the notification contact in the first place and why subsequently they didn't forward any of those notifications to me. The representative placed me on hold 3 or 4 times to talk to her supervisors and all they came back with was "We are sorry, please talk to your state". The rep did imply that their email address should not have been entered as the contact for the new business, that it was a mistake. As I was explaining that I would like to know what their protocol is for handling mistakes they've made while fulfilling a service contract such as this the rep terminated the call. Yes, they hung up on me.

    After further research I was informed that this is very likely a tactic used by LegalZoom to get an opportunity to sell you their additional corporate filing services at a later time after the initial filings. They use their contact info so that notifications for filings go to them (even though you specifically choose to not hire them for that continuing service) and then they have an excuse to contact you and explain how you must need help with those filings and they can handle it for you "for a very reasonable fee". Today they offered absolutely ZERO help or explanation as to why they did this and hung up on me and left me with a $900 penalty fee. Horrible experience to say the least. BTW, I paid them over $400 for that initial filing to which they mistakenly or deceitfully filed incorrectly. Please be careful hiring this company for these services.

    Staggeringly inept customer service. I paid for 5 years to use LegalZoom as my registered agent. This year I did not receive my biennial report. I called my registered agent and asked them to contact the secretary of state and have the info re-sent. This required an email address, apparently LegalZoom did not send an email address to the secretary of state and we are waiting for snail mail. Here's the kicker. If I don't file the biennial report by April 1st, my business will be dissolved. I have spent 4 weeks pleading with LegalZoom for help. Endless calls, hours on hold and no progress. Rude customer service reps (although one or two were nice they were useless in resolving my issue), several were downright rude and condescending. (Dylan).

    I was absolutely guaranteed a return call from Azuka, who is an escalation manager today. Well, today is over and no call. No email. Nothing. I called his direct number and it went straight to voicemail, twice. Apparently the dissolution of my company does not merit any level of care or service from these people. The level of ineptitude by customer service is staggering. I am about to have my business dissolved by the state in a few days. I am so sad, 5 years of my life building this business, and now this. I am just crushed.

    They promised to establish an LLC, file the appropriate government paperwork, provide legal documents necessary to establish the business, promised a due date, and failed on all accounts. Paid a premium to expedite the process and not only did they miss the due date by 10 days, but the resulting documents were so fouled up that they were useless and went in the trash can. Hours spent on the phone on hold, days spent waiting on promised return phone calls that did not come, promises made to correct repeated mistakes that were not kept. Finally cancelled the entire project, got a partial refund, and then they started billing me for the 'free' trial that was supposedly canceled. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

    In 2016 I set up a CA corporation with LegalZoom. I had never opened the corporation and called LegalZoom to remove them from my agent of service that they charge $159 for that they do not send a notice about. Just spoke to a man name Brandon who was extremely rude and not helpful. I requested to speak to a manager and Brandon informed me there wasn't one to talk to. I informed him that I no longer wanted the service because I have never opened the business and would be dissolving the company in the state of CA. He informed me that I was still responsible for the $159 for the current year. Horrible customer service. Once your LLC becomes legally effective, your card will automatically be charged $159. Service renews annually thereafter for the same fee until cancelled.

    Quick to take money, customer service is terrible, had to call 3 times and was transferred and put on hold several times. Was charged for registered agent fee several times. First representative said he agreed I should not have been charged and would refund me (By the way they were several LLC's and they charged me 12 times at $159 ea $1908!!!). He said he would send a confirmation email which was never done. Why would anyone pay $159 a year for a registered agent to accept mail??? I called back again several days later to be put on hold for 20 mins before anyone answered only to be told she had no idea about any credit. She transferred me to another agent who after being put on hold for 10 mins again said they would not issue the credit. WATCH OUT FOR HIDDEN FEES AND CHECKED BOXES. They will charge your credit card on a recurring basis!!!

    I used LegalZoom to set up an LLC. Everything was fine until I realized that we had originally set it up in a different state than where we were operating the business. It ended up costing us WAY more money and when we had originally asked about the pros and cons of setting our LLC up in various states, no one told us we'd have to file in multiple states. We only realized it when we went to open a bank account. Also, they don't tell you WHY you need to do anything, or that there is a time frame associated with certain things you need to do once you get your LLC.

    When we contacted them about the state issue (we were now a foreign LLC doing business in our state) they said we could either dissolve the existing LLC and set up a new one in our state or get approval as a foreign LLC in our state, but then have to file everything in two states... We chose the former option. We paid extra for a rush. It is now in "delayed" status and no one can tell me anything. I asked to be escalated to a manager and the woman told me NO. I asked again and she said she would have someone call me back. That was 4 days ago. I've heard nothing. DON'T use them. There are plenty of companies out there offering the same service.

    I applied for a LLC and quickly discovered that the email address that I provided was incorrect. I made the change on the website and received an email confirmation that the correct email would be used. Sadly, I never received the documents to sign to close out the LLC since they were sent to the incorrect email address multiple times. I called 5 times and sent multiple emails to get this resolved and they never sent the documents to the correct email. I wasted about 30 days on this and the frustrating part was none of my emails were answered and I was on hold an average of 45 minutes before I could speak to an agent. LegalZoom charges a premium price and I was very disappointed with their poor service!

    Not extremely responsive. They weren't much help with my previous problems, and I was not happy with the work ethic. Sometimes I couldn't even get a response. Extremely slow. Imagine a turtle covered in molasses. That's pretty slow, but then put that turtle in a path of tar on a hot day. The speed literally went nowhere. Not very reliable. I had to call repeatedly and email repeatedly as well. I almost never got an answer and when I did it was a generated message that said "leave a message." Not much to work with in the ways of value. I'm not valued, they're not valued at all, and their service is of no value. It's pretty worthless all around.

    The customer service was very good and explained everything to me when I needed help. They are very experienced and professional people. It took a little while but they sorted everything out and were able to help me when I needed it most. I really appreciate the patience they had with me and they were very nice. They are very reliable. I would recommend this place to other people. It was a decent price considering every other place was about two hundred dollars more than this place and they handled my situation very well.

    People that are always there to answer all your questions and give you the best advice and help when needed and wanted. Quick and yet efficient. Speed and service are the best of lawyers and handling legal problems of all kinds. This service will really give you a new outlook on having to deal with legal issues.     Customer service was phenomenal. Staff was well educated on the company, friendly and personable, patient, and most importantly, had convenient hours. The speed of this company was great. Not only the actual service, but the quality that came with that speed. It was nice not sitting around waiting for a service that ended up being mediocre. The reliability of this service was fantastic. It was at convenient hours, had helpful products, and an overall pleasant purpose. Customer service hours was also extremely reliable. The value of this service was the best part of my experience. A fast, reliable service that ended up being more than I hoped for.

    They are very nice and very helpful. They do everything they could to take the time to answer any questions I may have had which I really liked. They made it less stressful. Got back to me in a timely matter. They work fast and do their job correctly and I really liked that about them. They care about you and your time and do what they can to help you. They are very reliable. They told me when things were going to get done and they do just that and I thought that was great and help make things much happier for me and my family. They really do value you and your time. They seem to really care and that you're not just another client but a person and I thought that was wonderful and really nice of them to care that much.

    I used it for help with getting custody of my children and help in learning to file for divorce. I also used it when we were trying to get custody of my stepson. It's very useful and informative and incredibly simple to use even if you are clueless about all things legal related. It was incredibly easy and fast. When getting advice my questions were answered that day and was given a list of attorneys in my area immediately. If you need legal help I highly suggest LegalZoom if you are looking for quality service in a pinch.

    Incredibly reliable. When looking for help in getting custody of my children I received excellent advice and ended up with exactly what I had walked in hoping for which was primary physical custody and joint legal custody and couldn't be happier about that all things considered. When I finally decide it is time for a divorce I intend to use LegalZoom again. Considering the amazingly low prices you get incredible services. You cannot find a greater value anywhere else besides LegalZoom. I would and have recommended LegalZoom to friends and family members for their legal questions.
