    I did not order a membership of $99.00. I ordered two pair of sunglasses and received one pair plus a pair of night vision glasses. Supposedly my SH was waved, but bill came to $104.10 When I called to return what I had NOT ordered I was hung up on and had to redial. Was told I had to pay for return shipment $12.58. If mistake was mine I could understand, but mistake was Stauer's. Only reason I can figure out I was sold a membership is that employees was paid a bonus for doing this. When I mentioned this to second return person, she did not deny it, so I believe this is what happened and I am out SH because of this. Have bought from you for years but after this NO WAY. Will check with FTC to see if this company is doing business the way Wells Fargo did a few years ago.

    My wife received some Stauer binoculars as a gift. They were purchased by her brother and mailed to her. When she received them they were flawed with a defect in the eyepiece lens. After contacting Stauer and locating the original order I returned the defective binoculars to them. It was made clear to Stauer that these were a gift and should be returned to my wife and we provided the address in a letter enclosed with the binoculars. Stauer sent the repaired binoculars back to my wife's brother instead of to us. Now he is paying to send them to her again.

    After much Stauer advertising assuring me of quality items and fast service I ordered 3 items. I was under the impression from ads that it would be 5 to 7 days for delivery. 3 weeks later I call customer service to see where the heck my orders is. I am told all 3 items are on backorder. 2 of the items are said to come in 3 to 4 weeks from my phone call, the other item does not even have a date yet. When I started this comment on the review form there was text to remember to be fair. I will tell what is fair - when an item is backordered notify the purchaser and further make not on your website that there will be a delay in shipping and what that delay maybe, that would be fair don't you think. But being upfront with customers might cost some sales maybe but jerking them around and not being upfront most surely will cost sales. I am little pissed being jerked around.

    Upon opening then remove the winding case box, I removed the winder and protective covering. Upon looking at my new watch winder, the leather looking case was beautiful. But, looking through the glass the 1st thing I recognized were (fingerprints) on the inside of the glass.     I got one ring from Stauer and during my purchase, everything was done online and I didn't have a problem with the purchasing process. But I like talking to a person as that keeps our jobs. I also wish there was a store where you can see the products. I like to feel and touch them. And what I got was much larger than what I expected. I am tiny and that was just a personality ring. I like daintier jewelry and what I've seen with them was kind of gaudy. My mother would love it, but not me. Their return process was rather long as well and it took a long time to get a refund. Other than that, I loved the ring and the quality was decent. But I lost it and I want the same one, but I can't get it.

    I was buying Christmas presents for ladies in my family. When I ordered pendants, I thought they came with necklaces. The picture shows it with a necklace usually. It just described the pendants and it didn’t say that the necklace was separate in the ad or in the description. It could’ve said, “necklace separate” so that I wouldn’t make that mistake. It’s easy to purchase online, but the way they do their discount structure is irritating. I had to place four or five different orders in order to fully take advantage of the discounts.     I've read several of your great reviews. This isn't one of them. I have purchased a few items. I can only speak to the rings that I bought for myself. The rings obviously are not any sort of solid gold but I knew that. What I didn't expect was for them to lose their luster and gold finish so quickly. I didn't not wear them daily or while showering. I only wore the rings for evening wear maybe twice a month. I was very aware of how quickly they would fade in appearance if worn like true gold!     Within 24 hours I got a response from Melissa at Stauer. She apologized for my issue and immediately offered a full refund and sent me out a shipping label. I mentioned how I did like the bracelet and did she think the issue may resolve itself. She offered an explanation on the reason my wrist may have turned green (it has a copper core) and suggested wiping it off after use but could not guarantee that would solve the issue. Her responses were fast and sincere. I am going to keep the bracelet and take her advice. I want to thank her for her superior customer service and I will give Stauer my consideration in the future and Melissa is the reason why.

    Men's Power Core Bracelet. I love the look of this item, I was really happy with it but on the second time I wore it it turned my wrist green on the inside. The two ends of the bracelet left two green strips on my wrist. I get it, this is not a very expensive item (about $85 w/ delivery) but I feel this is unacceptable. This wasn't a $5 purchase at a flea market. Live and learn I guess. I can't imagine me ordering anything else from you folks. I wish I had taken a picture, maybe I'll wear it again and take a photo.     I ordered a Damascus knife at a cost of $79 plus a healthy $19.95 s/h plus sales tax. The knife arrived in an envelope with the thin knife box crushed. The knife was damaged and of inferior quality (China). I was told to return it and get a refund. A month later I got a partial credit. The rep said they don't refund tax or shipping and they charged a fee for the return label. They tried to screw me out of about $30! The rep reluctantly agreed to refund the s/h, but that's all. It's illegal to keep the tax $. I will never order from this sorry company again and hope your disappointed customers will do the same.

    I enjoy buying jewelry for ladies. I bought quite a bit of Christmas gifts for granddaughters and daughters from Stauer. I had bought a number of items like a ring and a pearl necklace. But I returned them because they weren't nearly as nice looking as I was hoping. The very first purchase I ever made with them was an opal ring and the opal was very poor. It was cloudy, has no shine and small. The cheap stuff has cheap quality. The better stuff is of higher quality. I just got their very expensive catalog where starting prices are 995 and they go to 3,500 for an item.

    Also, Stauer has a lot of gimmicks and very high pricing for handling and shipping. They get at least another $10 to $15 there and nothing is ever free. When it's 19.95, they still make 10 bucks. When it's 24.95, what they make goes up. If it's 29.95, they make $20 bill. The last item I got was an amethyst necklace. It was even free and yet it had $25 shipping and handling on it. So it wasn't free and they were making about 15 bucks extra on it. I also got a coupon under a letter from them which offers 100 off on any order. Then another $50-off coupon of any size order. So, I could buy an order for $50 and it wouldn't be free because it would have the 24 or 29.95 shipping charge on it.

    Still, their catalogs are very good but some of their things are better than others. I've also commented on their sales department that there is a need to show these rings, bracelets and necklaces on models so we get an idea as to the size and quality appearance on models. Sometimes, they do speak in terms of the quality of a stone on some of the gemological parameters.

    Although purchasing was easy, Stauer Jewelry's quality was lacking. A Tanzanite is supposed to be purple, but it would just barely have a purple flash in the light. It was so pale, you couldn’t tell whether it was aquamarine or what. I also dumped several orders because I didn’t like their shipping insurance, shipping and handling fees. In the beginning, their concierges were helpful. The girl would call to say, “I’ve got one of these, it’s very pretty. I think you’ll like that.” I’d say, “Send me some stuff and we’ll see about it.” Sometimes, I’d agree, and sometimes, not.

The company allowed a different ship to option.     On 12/19/2019, my wife called Stauer to place an order (a watch and ring) as a Christmas present. My account was pulled up by the customer service rep that took the call. There was no problem with my wife using a credit card to place the order. The customer service rep was very pleasant and took all the information needed to place the order. She even put in her "holiday code" in order for it to get here in time for Christmas. She gave my wife the order number for her to be able to check delivery status. At no time during the placement of the order was my wife told that she would not be able to get any information on the order because she was not an added member to my account.

    But, as it did not arrive in time for Christmas, my wife called to check the status on 12/25 (automated) and 12/26 (optioned to speak to a representative). The representative was rude and would not give her information as to the status because she was not a member of the account. After being told that he couldn't talk to her about the order, the rep did manage by the end of the conversation to say it would be delivered by the 31st. But, this was AFTER being told numerous times very rudely that he couldn't talk to her about it.

    I understand she is not an "added member" to my account and according to Stauer's rules, she has to be a member to get any information regarding orders (as she was told by the very rude customer service rep). As stated above, there was NO problem in PLACING the order by my wife who is not an added member to my account. Stauer happily took the money for the purchase. It's okay to take the money by a person that's not a member, but you can't talk to them regarding status of delivery? Really? Honestly, all of the above would have been accepted better if not for the rudeness of the customer service rep that took the call for the delivery status. I've ordered several times with this Company, but due to the rudeness of Stauer's Customer Service Rep, and the experience of this particular order, I will not be using Stauer's services in the future. I will be cancelling my membership and I will not be recommending Stauer to anyone else anymore.

I was not wanting to pay almost $90 for it so I emailed Stauer to cancel my order...twice...that same night. Then I called them within an hour of time listed on their site and was told it was already being packaged and they couldn’t cancel it but if I had “called earlier” they could’ve stopped it. I then called them back within two minutes to see if someone else would be more helpful and they told me it couldn’t be cancelled because it was on the truck on its way to USPS.     Initial order placed early November, I contacted customer service immediately via Facebook and Email, letting them know I was unsure of my ring size but knew I would need a custom size. They confirmed they would wait until I reported back on my ring size. But then, I get an email saying my order is on the way and I hadn't confirmed my ring size. At this point, I requested a refund, extremely frustrated with the process. It shook my confidence in the company. I was told I couldn't get a refund because my order had been started, but offered an upgrade to a 2-carat ring. I declined the offer stating that I'm concerned that even the 1.5 would be too large. They assured me the 1.5 would look great on my finger. That they would ship the size 4 and I could keep the other ring (great... now I have a ring I can't wear!).

    Today I received a ring in packaging from China that is clearly marked "1-ring" on the outside (that's not safe!). This ring is clearly the 4.5 2ct ring that I declined -- the 2ct is overkill! Again, you aren't listening to your customers. Why could you not have just refunded the initial purchase or offered the 1ct size 4 that I requested??? I am completely frustrated with this company and its service which is a complete disappointment because the ring itself is gorgeous!! I have emailed the company and no reply has been sent at this time.

    I made three orders from Stauer Jewelry yesterday and I'm most excited about one, but it wasn't processed. I got an email that said my web order was not processed by their system because the offer had been used on a previous order that I have with them. I do not really understand the email. Does that mean I'm not getting the order? Why was I charged on my credit card for it then? There was only one ring left and I got it, but I don't think they're gonna give it to me now.     I ordered a Noire watch, it was an attractive timepiece when it arrived. It did take some getting used to the self winding feature, but that wasn't a deal breaker. What was an issue and will NEVER have me return as a customer was the fact that the little knob that one would use to adjust the time decided to loosen up from daily usage (ie. winding) and left me with only the ability to set the time back. Stauer wanted to charge me for an extended warranty to just replace the watch. Seriously? Does Stauer really think that their customers are foolish enough to throw good money after bad, especially within the first year of ownership? I have cheap old $30 Timex watches that still function like new. I was told by the customer service representative that there is only a 30 day warranty on these watches. Way to stand behind your products there, Stauer.

    I plan on making sure that everyone I know (that may be in the market for a time piece) gets to hear my story about the lack of quality and poor post-sale support. I highly doubt Stauer will be honest enough to post this review as a warning to others, so they should never expect another dime from me or, God helping, anyone I know. Off to the BBB to see what they may have to say about this.

    I received my watch and WOW! It looks so darn good. And I must say, you folks have done an A+ job on wrapping the watch with the plastic film coating so well!     The blue watch caught my eye in a recent issue of ‘Saturday Evening Post.’ I called to order and the rep I spoke to was relentless with selling me a membership, would not tell me the cost of shipping my $29.95 watch to me and was obnoxious with up selling me a warranty, a subscription for $99 for future purchases. I was so upset it ruined my morning. He then told me the price of shipping was $14.95. Are you kidding me??? I said no thanks but I’m fearful they have my information now. I immediately called my credit card company and they said they have had many complaints about this company and would reject the charge if it came through, explaining I did not give them permission to charge for any purchase. This business is a sham and based on other reviews here, the quality of the product is poor. You should avoid buying from Stauer by all costs. Disgusting, pushy company.

    I purchased a ring that was too big 2 months ago and exchanged it for a smaller size. When the exchange came it was smaller than the size I asked for and the lady on the phone was very arrogant and said "they run small" even though I own a ring sizer and it measured as a size 10 instead of the size 11 that I asked for.     My first experience with Stauer: Ordering the set of 5 pairs of earrings was simple. Delivery was much sooner than I expected. Four pairs were as pictured and described. The fifth pair was supposed to be green amethyst, however there were no 'green' stones to be seen. The stones were dull white. Except for the lack of green stones, I'm very happy with my purchase and, instead of returning, I will keep and enjoy four very nice pairs of earrings.

    I have owned the Stauer Magnificat II Timepiece for over 7 years. It is not only a beautiful watch but also a very durable watch. The watch case has maintained its beauty over the years.     I have been ordering from Stauer for years and have always been pretty pleased. But my last experience left an awful taste in my mouth and almost makes me not want to give any more business to the company. I do want to address the issue and give the company the benefit of the doubt since the problem may be just with one person. I ordered the Spirit Lake Helenite ring and earrings for my Mom’s birthday. It arrived with a chip in the gem.

    I understand accidents happen (although I wonder why it wasn’t checked before being shipped.) The thing that I want to address is the rude representative that I talked to when I called about the chipped ring. She spoke with rudeness, almost like she was annoyed to have to talk to me. She not one single time apologize for the defective ring or the inconvenience of it missing the special occasion it was ordered for and for me having to mail it back. I felt the entire time that she was annoyed at me and that she did not care one bit what happened. She did not even tell me thank you for calling or have a good day but simply hung up.     3 10 KYG MARINER HOLLOW DIAMOND CUT 20IN CHAINS costing $2,509.50 plus Tax became tarnished within 24 hours of being worn. I contacted my Stauer consultant and arrangements were made for a return of all 3 gold chains. My consultant explained the matter would be assessed and appropriate measures would be considered but she had no further information to give to me until it was completely looked into.

    UPS picked up the package on Monday afternoon and within 4 days on Friday morning via regular mail, I received a package containing the identical necklaces sparkling gold with no letter of explanation as to what had happened and what had been corrected. My consultant did not call me back with any information of this package and what had occurred. I'm very disappointed in the lack of personal interest in this matter.     I ordered the co-pilot watch listed in a magazine for $99.00. After shipping and tax the cost came to just over $129.00. The watch arrived in good time. It looked nice but was too busy and smaller than I thought making it difficult for me to read. I called to return the watch. The watch came with a free pair of sunglasses also. This I was told that I could keep. I returned the watch and waited over three weeks. I finally got the refund but it was only $86.00. This is $43.00 LESS than what I paid. I was told that this was the shipping charges to send it to me and to return it back to Stauer. There is no way that it cost $21.00 each way to ship this watch!     I was given the survival tin as a gift. It includes a multi-tool, a flashlight and a small watch. The multi-tool looks nice and performs as well as can be expected. The knife blade is sharp and it has a good tip. A small Phillips screwdriver head is handy. As for pliers, I have pulled a few staples with it and the cotton wadding from an aspirin bottle; but I wouldn't count on it for much more. The watch is nice but I haven't taken the guard off of it to see if it even works. The flashlight did not work at all. Overall, it all looks nice as a gift to give; but looks is about all it is.

    I called their customer service and spoke with a pleasant woman. I was told to have the person who gave me the gift call the customer service number and they would be happy to replace the set. I explained that the gift giver was a close relative that is in the hospital and I would prefer not to upset her with the knowledge the gift she gave me was faulty and to have her go through the aggravation of the return process. I was told that was not possible. I then went to email. They dance with me for several days on that route. I explained my situation, they replied, sounding helpful.

    They would ask a question a day, I would reply and have to wait until the end of the next day for my next question. One question asked was did I put a battery in it, because they told me they do not include a battery. That was the first thing I checked when it did not turn on. (That's another thing to consider with this fine looking, expensive gift. Batteries Not Included.) Then they would need some information about the gift giver. I gave them a name, phone number, address and the date it arrived. I could not give the order number without involving my relative. Eventually, they told me to tell the giver to contact them. I looked this gift up online and it is on sale for $49. I don't know if that is what my relative paid, but $49 is far too expensive for nice looking junk. I recommend giving a gift that works from a reputable company that has good customer service which Stauer does not have!

    My wife purchased a Damascus CURVA knife for me for a gift and signed me up for membership to get even better deal. Wow. The pictures looked great but the knife was really poorly made gritty action and loose. The membership came with all sorts of offers so I thought why not try again as some of the offers were going to expire since she had saved the gift for a while. GOT THE POWER KNIFE AND THE LAND OF THE FREE I received three knives total.

    Everyone came in damaged packaging. The display box WITH THE LAND OF THE FREE was so cheap it was broken apart and I had to glue it back together. Knife was cheap quality for sure. All three were poor craftsmanship. They all LOOK fairly nice but function poor. Two of the knives came with sheaths that didn't match the pictures. So now I have purchased three knives and a membership totalling over $200 bucks and my $9 knife from big 5 is way nicer quality. I would not recommend their knives for anything but display purposes. I will be cancelling my subscription as well. Two stars because when I called customer service about the membership coupons they were very nice. Unfortunately I won't be buying anything else.

    Okay, I saw one piece of jewelry in a car magazine and thought..hey pretty good price. I will buy it. I was talked into a year of platinum Membership. I bought about a $1,000 worth of items and they raised me to concierge level and I got my own personal client manager. All good so far. Then I needed to return an item. A ring was the wrong size. So I sent it back and after a month they acknowledge the return. I never could get a hold of anyone on the phone and my personal client manager was always out. Again they sent the wrong size and I return it. Then they told me the size I wanted wasn't available and they were going to send a refund. But instead they sent another ring wrong size and I returned it; now they told me I had gone over 30 days so I wouldn't get a refund only store credit and get this I can only get store credit if I order online over the phone.

    Next they raised their shipping cost to $19.95 for everything and now if you return they charge you $8 for the label. Everything is overpriced to start, and discounted with so it looks like you are getting a bargain but you really aren't. Pretty slick marketing method. Anyway all the discount coupons they send in the mail are just gimmicks. So I finally have become wise and placed my very last order and I am finished with Stauer. It was an interesting 6 month experiment; I was their marketing department pawn. Good Luck with Stauer.

    Stauer has absolutely gorgeous jewelry at the most reasonable prices I've ever seen anywhere. My whole life is centered on doing nice things for people and I find that giving jewelry to girls is the easiest possible way. I've never had anybody say, "No, I don't like jewelry." If you give perfume or books, you run into complications. But I've never heard any woman in my life who would turn down a piece of jewelry. I have bought rings, necklaces, bracelets, pins, and glasses. I belong to Stauer's platinum club where they automatically assign you to a salesperson. Regardless of the phone number you mark on your phone, you always end up automatically to this person. You develop a relationship and they know what you like and what they have, and that's how you get along.

    I do look at their catalogs. To me, the catalog is the key and that's where the temptation comes about. The advertisement is excellent. Their marketing is fantastic, and I very seldom ever go into the web to see what else they offer because usually, what calls my attention are the articles of the jewelry that they feature on their catalogs. More recently, my platinum program expired. I have spent over probably $5,000 the last few years buying jewelry for several girlfriends and I've decided to cut down on this object as well as on the girlfriends. I've been trying to avoid the person that was assigned to me because I don't wanna get tempted into buying something.

    Their salespeople were excellent, and I was treated very well. At one time, I was concerned whether or not the special discounts that were given to me by their salesperson was really applied and I requested copies of the invoices. They provided me and sure enough, every promise that the salesperson ever made, extraordinary promises and concessions, were applied to my invoices. I have absolute trust and confidence in the company.

    I do recommend Stauer to everybody. One of the things they do is when I send gifts many times, to avoid delays, I have them delivered directly to the recipient. And they're very tricky. They include a catalog along with the gift. So, the next thing I know, the girls are aware of what's cooking. You can't fool them as far the price is concerned. They know what the price is. But then, they come back with comments about how gorgeous the stuff are. In two cases, they actually came back to me and told me if I wanted to give them a gift for Christmas, they wanted an item that they got from the catalog.

    The only thing, and it took me a while to figure it out, is one of the reasons that they are able to provide beautiful stones and gorgeous workmanship is usually, on the stuff they feature, they have very small quantities. They advertise it and they tell you the truth that the ring only has 1.5 carats. If you figure it out, it's minuscule. If you wanna have something a little flashy, you have to go look for something else like a 5-carat. It takes you a little while to figure out that the picture in the catalog looks almost too good to be real because it's an enlargement of whatever the jewelry they wanna feature. But if you look at the specs, they don't hide it. They say 1.5 carats, and then you can make a decision.

    I wasn't getting the rings in my possession since I was sending them directly to the ladies, but a couple of times, for whatever reason, I had those rings sent to me first. That was when I opened them and saw that they were kinda small. But the advertisement said so. It was 1.5 carats. It's a marketing plan but they're truthful. They're upfront. They tell you how much the thing weighs or the size. It's just that if you don't know jewelry, you tend to imagine a super gorgeous ring, fantastic color and that it's larger than what it looks like in the catalog. But once you figure it out, you can choose something larger or in Spanish we call it vistoso, more flashing. And they have it.

    Just got off the phone for the second time in a week. Having to return my watch because of mechanical difficulty with all four of the buttons. I have already had to return it once about a year ago because the watch band broke. Now, I just got off with customer service, after being told I would be called back the next day, I had to wait a week and called them back again. Got a pretty rude lady explaining the details of what I need to do to return it. It will cost me $29.95 to repair a watch that cost me $60. Having a hard time deciding if I want to deal with this company anymore.

I never received an email confirming my order with shipping/tracking info. I only received 3 separate emails requesting 'confirmation of my email address' which was just a request to join their email list as they offered a coupon to respond. Their phone lines are only M-F 8-5, so I couldn't tell when my order would arrive, although it did arrive in the advertised window of time. I read another review that said ordering by phone resulted in a deluge of marketing phone calls so I avoided that route.

    I bought a knife for my husband. Took 6 weeks to get it then it was damaged. The blade was loose and there was a chip out of it. I returned it and after paying 19.95 for shipping I had to pay 8.00 for returning a damaged product. Then after 2 weeks I heard nothing. Called and was told they were two weeks behind On returns and wait another two weeks. Today I got notice that our return was complete and wait another 3 days for refund. We sent them back and they were replaced with two other knives which were also defective. We sent those back and requested a refund.
