    On a phone call when I was inquiring about an offer, which I declined. I asked about the "free" Lusso necklace. When they told me the shipping & handling fees I also declined it. So I was surprised when it came in the mail anyway. In addition, I don't like its color either.

    Giving a 3 because of the issues I am having with a backorder. I have sent 4 emails, all received a bs form letter, I had direct contact with a rep that said, "Any issues text me". All have been unanswered. The BO item is in the new catalogs too. I just want what I ordered, it has been 2 months. When I called the hold time was over an hour! Is that a joke or what?

    This company is one of the worst I have ever dealt with. The product was not cheap yet it is like a bubble gum machine quality. Poor quality and they had very bad customer service. My husband bought this for me as a gift and it fell apart the first time I wore it. The catalog looks beautiful but beware of buying anything from them.

    Purchased a nice looking ring from STAUER. 1st time I grabbed the railing on a city stairway the chrome finish scratched off my ring. Took it to a highly rated jeweler and he laughed. He stated that these are very cheap, poorly plated rings. I've seen better rings in a gumball machine.

    I purchased a ring on sale for $59 -- which turned into an $88 purchase after taxes and fees, such as insurance/shipping/handling/handling and shipping and more handling/more shipping/buyer portion of the employee who filled the order that day/other fees we charge because naive' customers mindlessly pay them/secondary insurance/etc. My wife didn't like the ring so I returned it the next day, within Stauer's stated 30-day return guarantee. The "refund" was credited about a month later: $47. Doing the math, the transaction cost $70. In other words, I paid $70 for NOTHING: no ring ... no product ... nothing; Stauer made $70 in fees on the transaction -- without my actually receiving ANYTHING in return other than being serviced by Stauer. After losing $70 in the transaction, we now receive the Stauer catalogue -- more junk mail to immediately throw away.

    Terrible quality!!! I bought three tennis bracelets a while back. None of the clasps hold and they are missing the little arms that assure they don’t fall off. Really a waste of money!!! Don’t waste your time or money!!

    I have made several purchases from Stauer in the past, and was satisfied...until I wasn't. I ordered a pair of gold puffed heart earrings. When they arrived one was noticeably worn (the gold was worn off along the edges) and both earrings had that green appearance to them where the pierce wire meets the skin. I returned them for a refund and explained they were worn. I am certain I sent them back the day after I received them. Still, they were shipped back to me stating they would not refund them because they were worn! And so, I stopped making purchases from them. Note that all pieces are gold or silver clad and not meant to be worn all the time.

    My 87 year old mother bought me this set for Christmas. I think she was ripped off, but I don't have the heart to tell her. It is obviously fake, the silver, the turquoise - everything. It also arrived late, so she couldn't even give it to me on Christmas. I feel awful because I know she doesn't have the money for this. She thinks it's real silver. I am furious, but I don't know what to do about it.

    I've been a customer for years and years. I like the savings from the discounts that I get in the mail for being a platinum member as well as the variety. Stauer has a good selection. However, there are items that are not up to par with what I expect. I just ordered 10 of the survival packs for Christmas gifts for males in my family and they were much smaller and seemed like they were cheaper than I had thought they would be. The jewelry I find is much better.

    I bought this watch about 6 months ago and love it! The looks are outstanding and it is my favorite watch. I have Seiko, Gruen (vintage Veri-Thin), Citizen’s, Circa Tank, Tissot and Bulova Lunar Pilot. I keep it on a winder when not in use and it keeps time very well. I use it for dress occasions.     Hate to do this as it was gift for my sister. I asked about the type of metal and why it was over 200. I was told the gold chain was made of solid gold. It arrived broken! No call back from customer service and I'm out 250 after their 30 dollar shipping.

    I've gotten a lot of rings, earrings, some necklaces and bracelets from Stauer. Most are okay, but some of them had been hit-and-miss. I've gotten a few that had been poor quality. I got a butterfly necklace and earrings set for Christmas from my dad. The butterfly necklace turned colors even though I only wore it occasionally and for very short periods of time.

    They said they were gonna send me another one, but they never did. I also had another issue with the glass beads for the Murano hearts. There are several different Murano heart styles. And there's the glass Murano bead chains and I've had issues with one of them coming apart. They said they were gonna send me a replacement. But they did not. I ended up having to catch it on sale, and I bought two more so that I would have a spare. The other stuff is okay, but I don't wear it for long extended periods. I wear it when I go out and I come home and I take it off.

    While Stauer ads may be appealing, the prices are not what they initially appear. I was attracted to a recent ad, for mostly jewelry, that showed the price for all items being $19. When I contacted them, I was informed that to buy these I also had to pay for shipping, handling and insurance that totaled over $46. The shipping and handling cost alone was the same price as the merchandise. For an small item like that, I could ship anywhere for $5.

    I bought two retrograde watches from them. One worked, one didn't. They were upfront and said that their return process sucks (not their exact words) but they told me that my non working watch would take 5-7 weeks to process for return. They also said that once they received it, it could stay in 'processing' for two weeks, before anyone looked at it. Right at the two week mark after they received the return, I sent an email inquiring about the status... I received a somewhat snide reply, basically saying, "we told you to wait!". Other than that, once I ordered, I receive no less than 8 emails a week from them selling their products... As soon as I get my watch back, I'll never order again, and block their emails.

    So far, my experience with Stauer Jewelry has been good. However, there's one piece I've been waiting on for three months now. And I continue to see it advertised in the catalog.     When I get Stauer Jewelry's catalog, I look the item up online to get a better look at it, and if I like it, I buy it. Their items have been just the way they represented them, and their service has been good. They tell me when my order is gonna be delivered, and it's there. Everything for the most part has been okay, with the exception of a Christmas gift I bought my wife. It was an Italian chain with three little balls on it. It came back knotted, and we can't get the chain undone. Stauer Jewelry sent me a survey, and I typed back what the problem was, but nobody ever got back to me. I have had no problems with Stauer Jewelry at all other than that necklace.

    I love Stauer Jewelry's enthusiasm on the get something free, but that also is a double-edged sword because that means that they're out of stock. Generally, I receive things in a timely manner but I'm upset about the London topaz, regular blue topaz mixed ring. It looks like a checkered board kind of thing. I got the earrings. I ordered a size 10 at the time I had cancer and had some pretty bad swelling. But then through physical therapy, the swelling went down. So, I called because it was on backorder for several months. I said, "Could I change the size nine?" The rep said, “Yes.” But then I asked her, "Would it put me on a backorder status again?" She said, “Yes.” But then a week later, they canceled my order altogether. They said it was no longer available. That was very disappointing. So, it's a double-edged sword. You get great things on sale, unusual looking jewelry but then there's a backorder.

    I believe that Stauer deliberately sends out unacceptable products so that they can keep high fees amounting to $47.50 on shipping, insurance and return shipping. I ordered the "Opal Opulence" ring which looked gorgeous in their catalog, using a 60% off coupon, to get it for $59.60 plus $9.18 tax (15%!, don't know how they came up with that), for a total of $68.78. To that Stauer added $29.95 for shipping and $4.75 for insurance (on a $70 ring!), bringing the total up to $103.48. I was surprised it was so much, but the picture was so pretty, and I agreed to pay it. However, what I received was a worse-than-seconds ring with no color which should never have got past Quality Control. If I returned it, out of the $103 I paid, I would get only the cost of the ring and tax back, minus Stauer's $12.50 return fee, for a total refund of $56.28.

    Meanwhile Stauer would keep $47.50 in fees. I remembered that this was the third time Stauer had sent me obviously unacceptable product. I checked back to when I began with Stauer in 2019, and the shipping costs, etc., had more than doubled. Used to be $9.95 for shipping, $8 for return. So Stauer tripled the shipping, added 50% to return fee, and added unneeded insurance, and then starting sending out jewelry that they knew would get returned, but they could keep $47.50 fees every time.

    I wrote them a demand letter, calling a scam for what it was and demanding return of all my monies or I would report them to my credit card company. Waited five weeks and then sent the whole package to the credit card company, including my demand letter and photos of the product advertised and what I received. And emphasizing that I considered it a scam. I ended up getting all my money back. If you receive similar defective jewelry and want to fight Stauer (for the principle if nothing else), create a paper trail. Make your complaint in writing, attach photos, and don't pay before you file your dispute or the credit card will not act.

    I have purchased jewelry in the past, but this was the first time I purchased a watch, I bought the Gabel watch for my husband. The leather band tore within a week after maybe wearing it for 5 hours, the leather cover was so thin it tore. I didn't return then because I figured the next one would last long as the first one. And it wasn't a big deal. But now the watch stopped working, it won't reset the chronograph anymore and it is almost 6 months old. And I rarely wear it. Maybe 5 hours a week. A piece of junk. And I am not paying for shipping, insurance, etc. to receive another piece of junk. So please don't send me any more catalogs, and DO NOT renew my membership.
