Insurance is something that needs to be totally revamped. It is for collecting money. Helping customers is not done by State Farm these days. Their agent was no help at all. Had to call home office. We had a not much better experience at higher price from Auto owners, so I am now shopping price only. Personal service is what I am looking for from a "good neighbor".

I have almost always had State Farm, because they do discount us and we have a renewable policy so we stay with them but if the price gets too high I will seek other insurance. They advertise to us but don't always communicate with us. Filing a claim was not too difficult. We were sued by the other driver but State Farm handled it. They did not keep us informed so we never knew where we stood until a few months after they settled.

Company is exactly what I have want in an insurance company. Company on whole is wonderful but would have insurance agent be able to follow up with claims department so they know what it is like for consumers to deal with different departments and can use just one person to follow up. They sent copies of accident but decision made from contact to rental car company.

When my children were hit by a State Farm policy holder who refused to give me their information and I finally found out they had State Farm, I submitted all documentation, images, and had statements that made sense. They denied my claim stating originally that my child in the right of way was partially at fault that their client ran a stop sign and hit them. When I questioned them they then said that my kids were on a different street than they were (than pictures even show proof of) and that my kids were at fault for hitting their client's car while traveling towards her on the same road). Mind you the accident occurred with my kids getting hit by her passenger side back door on the front of the moped. Then when I challenged that making sense, State Farm changed their denial to yet another scenario that made as little sense. Shame on State Farm for being so corrupt and protecting liars. So glad I dumped you 15 years ago!!

I have been with them for over 50 years. Since my first car when I was 17 years old. I am 70 now. My agent at State Farm, Tom in Pacific Grove, is really THE best. He's polite and professional including his staff. I love them. The wonderful agent before him was Verne. But I got upset with State Farm Auto Insurance. I left them for 6 months & went with another ins agency. I went to the other office several but I never met the agent (never in office). I finally got him on the phone and he was so abrupt & rude I went back to State Farm & will never leave them again.

Still in process, but the claim reviewers are questionable. My wife was driving in a 45 MPH construction zone, and was sideswiped by a speeding car. State Farm is claiming it was my wife's fault. The Representative said that most people have dash cams and that would have proven the other driver was speeding. I requested a transcript of their interview and the timeline of the transcript showed 10:07 minutes. My phone log shows it was an 18 minute call. The transcript has critical elements redacted with the term "[inaudible]". Very unpleasant experience after almost 30 years with a company. I asked about an appeal, and they suggested getting an attorney.

State Farm send estimators to take pictures and after a month they decided they would not pay for the damages. Then the representative was rude to top it off.

The following is unbelievable but this is what's going on. I was in an accident back on 9/21/2017 in my 1968 Chevelle and State Farm sent me a list of their approved body shops to have it fixed at. I called 20-30 Of them and nobody would even touch it. My only choice was to find my own shop to have it repaired at which I did but the shop Mahoods Collision and Hot Rods didn't a butcher job putting it back together with horrible aftermarket parts and parts from a 70-72 which is a completely different body style as well as much more.

When I asked State Farm to help me they said it was between me and Mahoods, and they aren't responsible for anything. They sold me a classic car policy and I made it clear to claims, that I wanted it fixed with an original front clip only and I didn't care how long it took. I was told by both my agent and by claims that it stated that in my policy so I asked them to show me where. After giving me the run around I was told "Well the verbiage doesn't state that but that's their policy.” I know they’re lying like every big company does in hopes that we'll give up but I won't, stay tuned for more. I'll be suing them soon enough. BEWARE!!! The next is a detailed explanation of what's going on.

I was in an accident in September of 2017 and found a repair shop to have my front end fixed with an original front clip which he located about 5 hours away and was going to go get it when he started having medical problems and was in the hospital for several weeks so I became worried he might die and I would not be able to get my car back without a big hassle so I told a friend about what was going on and he recommended that I take it to Mahoods Collision and Hot Rods, so I called Mahoods and told him what was going on and he said, I have connections and could get an original front clip within a week and he could repair it within a month.

So with this verbal contract, I had my car taken to Mahoods for repairs. After approximately 4 months the car was done and I went to pick it up. When I got there I looked at the car and found many mistakes. The biggest one is that he used all cheap aftermarket parts but also many other things. He said bring it back and he'll take care of it which I have a witness that can confirm that. When I got home and was looking the car over, I was absolutely disgusted with the butcher job he did on my car and I called him to complain. He said, "Stop belittling me" and to bring it back. His shop is about 1 hour away without traffic and 2 hours away with traffic. I brought it back to him and pointed out a bunch of mistakes and incomplete work he did on my car. When I got there and started pointing out all of his shoddy work he got angry and rushed at me with his fist cocked back but his employee held him back.

After calming Mark down, I proceeded to point out the butcher job he did on my car which must have made him mad because he said, "I'll blow your ** head off." I told him he must repair it per our agreement or I'd have him arrested for death threats and fraud to which he agreed and that he would have to give me a loaner car which he agreed to rent until my car was done. After approximately one week, Enterprise called me and said that he was trying to renege on the agreement so I told Mark I wanted it taken out of my name so I'm not responsible for the bill. This is all noted in my contract with Enterprise. He told me some more lies about they wouldn't let him pay for it, so I called them and found out he could put it in his name so I called him and told him what was going on and he got belligerent with me so I told him, "I'll be down there with the police and we'd go from there."

When I was heading to the police station to file a complaint and get an officer to do a keep the peace call, he must have called them and told them lies to get them on his side because I received a call from an officer telling me not to go to the station but to come to Mahoods instead. I could tell from the officer's voice that he was already taking Mahoods side. When I got there the officer started interrogating me instead of staying quiet and letting the owner Mark and I talk. The officer must have told Mark to remain quiet so not incriminate himself. Then the officer told Mark to put my car back together with all of the crappy aftermarket stuff and to push it out on the street and be done with it and they'd impound it. I was told to pick it up on Tuesday January 30th at 2PM which I replied I will come Wednesday instead so I'm not stuck in traffic overheating from his shoddy repairs. Mark replied that he would have it towed to my house.

The officer told me that is what was going to happen to which under protest I agreed. After thinking about what happened, I realized that if it was towed, he could claim any damage happened during transit in order to get him off the hook. I tried calling Mark to tell not to tow it but he wouldn't answer so I left a message telling him not to tow it. I tried filing a complaint against the police on January 26th but no sergeant or detective was there to receive my complaint so I'm going back on Monday to file a complaint and to tell Mark Mahoods not to tow it.

I have been with State Farm for over 5 years. My annual premium is just over 3400.00 for my wife and I. That is approximately 17,000 dollars over the course of 5 years to have insurance in case of an accident. Both of us are good, safe drivers with no speeding tickets or accidents in our driving history. This year however my truck's emergency brake failed and rolled, slowly, into another vehicle while parked. It was a company vehicle and they required police report so I had to file with insurance. There was no damage or claim on my vehicle and very minor damage to the other vehicle.

About 6 months later my windshield got broken and was replaced under insurance. After paying the two claims totaling less than 1200.00 dollars State Farm dropped my WIFE not me!!! She has a perfect driving record! Because of the lapse her driver's license was suspended and now she has to pay fees and deal with the headache of reinstatement. What the heck is insurance for??? Stay away from State Farm! GEICO picked us up for less money and had no problem with the couple of minor ACCIDENTS.

The next day my neighbor's wife came over with the local police and told me happened and asked if they could see if they could see anything on my security camera system to see if it showed anything that could lead to the perpetrators. I eagerly complied. Fast forward a couple of months and I get a letter from State Farm stating that I'm responsible for the damage to my neighbors' car to the tune of $2K. I immediately called State Farm and talked to an individual who took a closer look and found out there was a mistake and then apologized. Fast forward another month and lawyer is calling me that I owe $2K to State Farm and if I don't pay it, they will sue for it. I talked to my neighbor and he went ballistic. That was today. We have had State Farm for over 10 years. Recently we had an accident. We could not choose the repair shop. The repair shop they sent us to was Unibody Autotech in Honolulu. They kept our vehicle for 2 weeks only to tell us that they couldn't figure out why our vehicle was squeaking when turning or going over bumps. They were not sure if that was caused by the collision or not. They performed a $200 OEM scan. Aligned front and rear and did some operation with description Varsity Motors charging $201 for that. Total they wanted close to $600. State Farm then said we had to take our truck to the dealer to determine whether or not the noise was made because of the collision or not. If Nissan determined it was not then we would have to pay the fee. If Nissan said it was then State Farm would pick up the fee as we already paid our deductible. Another $300 spent at Nissan and I am back to nowhere.

Nissan couldn't tell if the squeaky noise was from the collision or from age/time even though the noise did not happen until post accident. We recently got a safety. We recently had our mechanic run a diagnostic and fix the suspension or something else prior to accident. State Farm won't pay the $300 to Nissan or provide reimbursement to us as it's inconclusive. I don't know what kind of diagnostics the first repair shop did compared to the dealership but having to do 1 diagnostic at 1 shop and 2 at another is ridiculous. Our "agent" always been busy and unable to tell us anything more than the minor correspondence is ridiculous.

I'm not exactly what is up with insurance, we all pay a fee because it's unlikely that we will get into an accident and most of us won't so that means the insurance keeps our money. When and if we file a claim, yes I understand the need to make sure the claim is legit but when due diligence is done and the repair shop and dealer are both unable to say if what occurred is not from the accident, then cover it.

A van hit me and I was hit from behind. Took my car to Jon Hall. When this accident happened I was at a red light. Two men were standing at corner. They had just left the church on corner getting help not knowing if they would walk across the walkway because light was red. Turned green, other car ahead of me drove on as I got hit from behind. I pushed hard in my brake, applied emergency brake as I didn't want to hit people standing on corner.

I was told by my adjuster being hit from behind van had no brakes my car stopped it. That accident had nothing to do with brake noise that started as I left accident. They towed my car. Had to tell driver he was pulling my front fender skirting forward. They said brakes were checked. Well now I've had fan blade break, list breaks completely and have no working emergency brake. My car was never the same, had to have dashboard replaced. Seat belt light stays on. Car rattles. Passenger seat doesn't lock all from accident. Car is not same as before accident but they said not from being hit that day.

They didn't take my concerns of brakes seriously. I don't think they checked them. Found out about emergency brake when my son-in-law was going to change my oil. Not even a month went by after getting my car back arguing with repair person said my insurance company said brake problem was not caused by accident. But I had no problems before accident. Had emergency brake when oil was changed before accident. They failed me. When it came to my concern about brakes. My car did a nose dive from being hit slamming in brakes. They claimed accident had no effect on brakes or problems I complained about.

Instead of sending a adjuster State Farm told me to take my motorcycle dealer. But the dealer wanted to charge $120 to write up an estimate and keep my motorcycle for 2 weeks to repair it. They wanted me to bring my bike in November of 2017. Almost 3 weeks from the accident. I never heard of having to pay for an estimate before. The lady that hit me got fined for causing the accident. The accident did minor damage and would have cost around $75 to repair. State Farm would rather pay around $200 for something that would have cost them around $75.

Another motorcycle dealer said the motorcycle would probably be totaled out. I contacted my insurance company Aegis Security Insurance Company. My insurance company turned their backs on me. Makes no sense for such a small claim. My fear was the motorcycle dealer Action Motorsports would have kept my motorcycle if State Farm would have declined to pay the claim. Agent I was given wasn't my choice at all, when the agent I had passed away it was State Farm that split the office and I was given to a ** that isn't worth the time of day to deal with. I told the agent I didn't want her and wanted to be switched to the office I had before and I was told I couldn't change agents. Well it took me time to find out. YES you can switch agents, but in the meantime after having State Farm for over 20 years I changed my auto insurance to another competitor who gave me a better policy with lower rates.

State Farm agent I had, was raising my rate every 6 months for no reason, no ticket, accident free, only put on 5000 in a year, but my rate was going up. Now that I dropped my Auto with State Farm, I'm dropping my Homeowners Insurance. Seems like this so called agent at State Farm has more clients complaining on the raise in rates. Oh and she doesn't pay for employees since the employees come from the University as Interns! Maybe that is the reason why the raise in rates continue since nobody knows what they are doing, and I was tired of calling about the raise in rates every 6 months to get it lowered. I take it the Agent never worked for the clients, instead the agent put $$$$ in him/her own pocket.

Upon arriving to the collision place no one was there to assist me. So when me and my family was able to get home I contacted a lawyer on behalf of assisting me in my case. On January 10 I received a phone call from my agency Alonzo Howard office stating that the check for my vehicle could not be issued until I get the title to the vehicle.

I didn't spoke with office manager Natasha ** and she told me that she spoke with someone named Chad and he insisted that no payments should be issued out yet. I spoke with Chad from the investigation office at State Farm on January 11 at 10:00 AM. He insisted that he needed a recorded statement which was no problem for me and my family to do. It is now January 23, 2018. State Farm has issued an $18 payment out to Gerber Collision and $7,775 payment to All Car Leasing Inc. for the payoff of my vehicle. The whole total balance of the estimation that State Farm had given me for the total loss of my vehicle was $9,100 and from the $9,100 that $7,775 my leasing company has received payment for would, the remaining balance that was supposed to been issued to me never been issued.

They told me that my check would be has it in for my account 2 to 4 business days and not yet have anything been deposited into my account. I presented all evidence and not once yet received anything back from State Farm. Unbelievable what State Farm and Gerber Collision has done to my vehicle and now they don't want to pay out the money for uninsured motors nor my medical bills, They demolish my vehicle at the collision place and left me without a vehicle and failed to tell me until four days later what the estimate would be for the total cost of my vehicle.

I don't understand how we pay insurance companies and with all that money, they deny people justice by taking the easy way out. I am disgusted with this industry. State Farm is like the rest of these greedy sharks. The people who work there have little to no morals or empathy towards life. I was a victim of a car accident for the very first in November 2017. The person that hit me was drunk. My kids were crying and were in shock from the impact of the hit. State farm refuses to fix the starter because they claim that it wasn't impacted by the accident.

My car was working before the accident and now they don't want to pay for the repairs. What good is it to have the outside fixed but the car does not run? Insurances are the devil. Stupid world rotates around greed and money. It's pitiful in soo many ways. Everyone should just stop paying insurances... A boycott needs to transpire. We need to make changes because we have become conformed with society's norms.

I started the process of filing a claim online but received an error message that the policy number I entered could not be found. It is possible, however unlikely, that the number printed on the police accident report is wrong. When I called the toll free customer service number, twice, I followed a series of automated prompts. At the second menu I reached I pressed 2 to start a new claim. The extension dialed rang several times then I got, "Your call cannot be completed as dialed. Check the number and call again." Their toll free number advertises 24/7 service but I can't even get anyone to answer.

I have been with my carrier for over 50 years and never been able to find another company different enough in any area to make changing worthwhile. They all seem to be the same. The staff changes so much that you never know who you are dealing with, though. I do not feel that the franchise holder is really interested in the clients, only in how much money he will make. Their rates are too high, too many exclusions in the policies and service can occasionally be slow. The company in general is in the category where they feel too big to fail, and if they did not influence politics and much of regulation could easily lower their rate structure. The legal structure is sharply slanted toward the insurance company and not the policyholder.

I reminded him, that I have just used road assistance in less than 2 month. He insisted I have no road assistance. That night, I called and paid out of pocket for a towing company. The next day, I call to get good explanation on the matter. This time, State Farm tells me, I have been dropped from road assistance plan because of frequencies. To my recollection, I called State Farm only 2 times in 2017. I am totally angry at State Farm, and I am moving to a new company.

Our insurance agent is great and does periodic reviews to make sure our coverage is adequate and suggest ways to lower premium. I was hit by one of their customers yesterday. It was a pretty bad hit, and my car was a total loss. It's was their fault and there is no dispute in that. Today I went to get my rental that I could only get from Hertz, and was told they have a no dog policy and a 300 dollar fine if they find dog hair. 90% of the time I get in a car I have a dog with me, so this rental situation doesn't work for my needs. I called State crap and explained I need to be able to have a dog, and the first thing said to me when I mentioned a different rental company was "out of pocket", then I asked if they were going to pay the fine and I was put on a long hold where I got to get madder and madder that the words "out of pocket" were even uttered and I was already clear that even when it is completely liable, this company will make you fight them and they don't give a damn about you.

When the hold ended she was trying to tell me (as if she was doing me a favor) that she got me approved to go find an Enterprise and start the process all over again even though I needed to go to work. This company has one goal and that is to do the very least they have to for their claims while inconveniencing the people they are liable to as much as possible. Now I'm waiting to see the value they give my vehicle, it won't surprise me if they try to give me its value after their client totalled it, I'm sure they are that kind of company. I will never support this company and after this, I can't be friends with anyone that uses them either.

I slammed on my brakes and emergency brake so as not to hit car in front of me or people that were going to cross at crosswalk. My car was making a noise it hadn't made. Brakes felt funny. Well they said accident wouldn't have caused it. After my car stopped a big work van because he had no brakes. After I got car back it shook because they had to replace dashboard door. Windows rattle on emergency brake and broke off, hit radiator and 2 weeks after getting it back my brake line broke. I had no brakes at all.

But all this I complained about they dismissed when took car to get oil changed. They told me about emergency brake not working. My car sets low. Took a nosedive when it was hit and when it was towed from my house. I had to tell driver he was pulling my skirting forward. So I don't think they took my concerns seriously.

The person in charge of my car and what was wrong with it didn't know how to do his job. He's not person that looked at it at my house and I talked to and had me leave a note. It was a complete different person. Didn't find it out till after the fact found note stuffed in my console. He didn't know about it so repairmen probably moved it when they took out seats to put on new dashboard. Your Insurance company supposed to work for you and your best interest. Especially when it wasn't my fault and was pushed half a car length. My Chevy was smaller and lighter. My trailer hitch hit his radiator. You could see 2 car lengths of brake/skid marks where he tried to stop. His words was, "Look I tried to stop." I'm short. Sit all way up to steering wheel at dashboard. Almost Over 2 years still car doesn't work well. Don't have money to replace until lawsuit is settled. Disappointed.

Also know of a person had same company was in a wreck. Guy said his car was totaled. When person asked about it they said they didn't look at it. Just signed off on his medical because he used his insurance for his truck. They couldn't tell person who worked on truck. That was an accident with this person. The proof of an Insurance Company’s medal is how they handle claims. State Farm used to be highly regarded but has deteriorated to plain awful in customer care. My wife and I were rear-ended by a drunk driver and seriously injured. It’s been 7 weeks and I have spent most of those 7 weeks making call after call to try and get some resolution for my totaled car, head injuries and dealing with the other (uninsured) driver. Even with my uninsured motorists insurance plus my underinsured motorists coverage I have received exactly zero dollars for any part of my claim.

I have rental car insurance. I tried to use that insurance and they have told me I’m no longer able because we’ve reached a “settlement”. I was really surprised to hear we had settled! I didn’t know of any settlement. When I remind them that I have not receive one penny in settlement, they told me we settled over the phone 3 weeks ago or so. They are taking advantage of two seniors by obfuscating procedures, and just ignoring requests for updates or action. I was told I am now responsible for $1,250 in towing and storage fees even though I turned the car over to State Farm right after the accident.

I have been paying them for a life policy, earthquake insurance, homeowner’s policy, 4 to 5 auto policies plus a $1,000,000 umbrella policy for 45 years. About $300 a month currently or $3,600 a year. For this, I get treated with disdain in the form of incompetent claims agents, confusing areas of responsibility for each party in their company, inaction and contradictatory “rules” and “rights” I have as a claimant. They are refusing to pay on a $600 rental car policy that I paid premiums on for years and years. That’s only two months of my premiums. There is a reason people advise you to use an attorney if you are involved in an accident. To fight with your own insurance company. This is State Farm... not Joe’s insurance.

My lawyer gave me a stack of papers that supposed to explain why State Farm hired a lawyer to find reasons why I do not deserve compensation for an event that occurred while trying to go home from work. After being forced to read the first couple of pages, I displayed apparent disbelief, angry, and embarrassment of what was documented in a fashion that decimates my character of my mental state and moral qualities. Everyone who knows me knows I been through a lot and has always wondered why I have not broken down, give up and or killed myself. The things that I have been experiencing is unknown or either drawn out which makes it hard to find a solution.

Grant it, everyone goes through something, and they may have hiccups and some unpleasantness involved but, for me, it been a wild ride that I just want it to stop. What prompted me to write this out because I wished to share my experience to help others and invoke change in the way people are treated and documented by people who's only primary objective is a success with money rather than progress and prosperity of the person’s quality of life. I maintained a desire to be successful and prosperous from the accident. Which means, I went to doctors to assist me with healing and gain strength to move on and be mindful of being more careful not to attract careless people who try to destroy my life. The prosperity I am seeking, and I assumed that my lawyer was aiming for, was having an ease through the situation, plenty of help or resources to get over the case with encouragement at having a better life after the occurrence.

When money is involved, the lawyers and doctors have proven that they lost sight of the purpose. Yes, bad things do happen to good people, and some wrong people get the good. What I did not expect in my wildest dream that most of the doctors who I partly trusted, paid for out of my pocket, and or with my insurance, documented occurrences to sum up my life by their opinion. The thought that the company I paid my hard earned money to protect me, “State Farm” hired lawyers and doctors to diminish and discount my actual pain and suffering from the accident. How did this happen? I didn’t go to the doctor or visited the same doctor for an extended period of time. I did not have entirely current insurance until now.

I never really had a primary doctor because, in my opinion, they have made people sicker than better. I am aware of the side effects and the death that they have caused with the drugs that they prescribed. I do know based on the financial situation of patients they only do the bare minimum of care. Since I been in Minnesota, my finances have increased and have steady insurance. I have been prescribed more medication than I ever have in my life. I have been offered a wide range of treatment and prescription that has been very expensive to only made me tried, made me feel worst, gained a great deal of weight and or made me feel worthless. That is because, I just see doctors during the times of sorrow, pain, grief, and stress. I never went to the doctor on millions of my great days.

I do have a complicated and busy life that I have handled on my own way raising two children who are 10 years apart, as well as being single, a family member, employee, and sole provider successfully for 24 years plus years. Yes, I have good and bad days like everybody else who are living. But for me, the bad do not define my life. My father and mother (who are still together to-this-day, before I was born) are hardworking people who instilled in me that for you to do great to have to do something. Sitting around being depressed and wallowing in self-pity is not an option. Laying on the bed and babysitting and licking my wounds never crossed my mind. I got a band-aid with some antibiotic ointment, took some ** and got up, went to work, and or took care of son and daughter, took care of myself and pay bills the best way I could. This something I have to do and will continue to do before and after the accident.

Personally, I have preferred more holistic treatment such as massages, acupuncture, eating the right foods, exercise, and meditation and even talk therapy before seeing a doctor. The papers that the lawyer gave me on December 14, 2017, only confirmed that doctor is concern about the kickback they will obtain from the lawyers and pharmaceutical companies for their bottom line to their business. I forced myself to go to the doctors these past two months asking for a full examination to see what is really wrong. I wanted to know what needs to be fixed. Those tests are expensive, and the insurance company is flooding my mailbox and voicemail trying not to pay the claim hoping that the MVA insurance will pay for these test. Even though I met my deductible and faithfully paying my 10% co-pay. They don’t want to pay for what I need to know to better myself.

Now I know my problems! The blessing is that none of it life-threatening. It hurts and uncomfortable at the time but, the great thing is that I can take care of these issues naturally. These past two months, I am seeing a chiropractor, well-being therapist, eye doctor, and a massage therapist. I take very little to no drugs, I wear my glasses faithfully, and I have been feeling much better now that I have I took ownership of my health and life. I have been walking more, lost some weight, I have more energy for my daughter and me. Top it off, I am doing great at my job. I have good and bad days with pain, but overall, I am happy. God has blessed me to be here this long, and I know by doing the right thing I will see more.

In some ways, I think the two people who ran into me from behind may have done me a favor because I had got more support and encouragement from my current job than I did at the job I lost when I had the accident. Then State Farm also notated my DMV record which increased my rate so I would be forced not to go to another company. So while they got their well known shark attorney to dig deep into my life to deem me as undeserving. I was faithfully paying them my monthly premium. I was driven to find another company that worked for me to fix those errors and provided me the best rate coverage I ever had in 3 years.

I love to have extra money to help pay my bills and do beautiful things for my family, friends and even myself. I am usually blessed with what I need to live life. Unfortunately, the insurance company and lawyers don’t think that at all, they want more and everything they feel that they are entitled to deem themselves successful and prosperous. We put a blind eye to stuff we feel we don’t have control over. Just like these sexual harassment cases coming up, they only accepted it because they were accuser is superior enough to make their lives miserable. So they don’t say anything.

When seeing the damage occurred in their lives because of it and realize that they have been wronged it time to speak out. They spoke out because they did not like how they were treated and wanted to prevent this ever happing again to others. In my case, I have been told there is nothing I can do about the lawyers and State Farms' decisions because our justice system allows these behaviors because they too benefit significantly from it as well. Will it ever stop? Who will ever protect us from greed? Deeming people for the glory of money is not justice nor fair.

We were sent a non-renewal letter in the mail. We were not being renewed because of my husband's driving record: a speeding ticket that was 3 years old, and a wreck that happened last year when a tree fell on our truck. We called our agent several times to file an appeal and never received a callback, so we started looking for other insurance. We found the same policy insurance, for a lesser price and so we wanted to switch all of our accounts.

I had to break down and call our agent once again to find out the process for switching our homeowners and make a plea, once more, to help save us the hassle of changing insurance companies, since we had been with State Farm for over 15 years. He did not help us in any way. In fact, he wanted to give me "advice" on shopping for new homeowners insurance. His condescending, egotistical attitude was felt through the receiver and I couldn't wait to get off the phone. I couldn't switch our insurance fast enough after that.

I purchased auto insurance for my vehicle online on October 30th at 4 am . State Farm online priced me for liability insurance for my car 180.00. I thought that was pricey. I had been driving a scooter prior and had one auto accident almost 2 years prior. I assumed that I probably would have high insurance. Well I shopped around when it was time that I could speak to a live agent. Now keep in mind I don't even have a drivers license. So for any policy to be accurate I have to have a licensed driver on my policy. I never put a driver on the policy with State Farm. I honestly don't know how they ever sold me a policy to begin with.

Anyway I found auto insurance for 70 bucks a month quite a difference in the price. So I called on October 30th at 9 o clock am to cancel my policy. They did cancel that policy on November 3rd they explained that the policy would have to be written which would take their system several days. Then they could cancel my policy. I understood and agreed.

It is November 29th. I still have not received my check in the mail. I have called several times probably at least 6 times I have spoken several times with supervisors. The first time I was explained that they should have done a flat cancel and refunded my money back to my debit card. They didn't say anything about that until it was too late to do anything like that. Every time I call they tell me my policy is in processing. I spoke with one supervisor. She said that my agent would issue me a check and Kevin ** the State Farm agent in Newton NC would be able to help me. I called his office to learn he can't do that. He says he has talked to the escalation department to expedite my issue.

This has been nothing but a hassle and I pray no one else will ever have to deal with this. I was told excuse after excuse just so this company could hold my money. I think they don't care. It is holiday season. I live barely week to week. I struggle to make my ends meet. I worked hard to gain my drivers privilege back. I believe if the owner of State Farm would lose his money and have kids and struggle to make ends meet on lots of people income. I don't think he would be so quick to let his employees just hassle his clients. I understand that this company has been around for many years. So that said they most likely have made plenty of money. To try and keep someone's little 180.00 seems ridiculous. If I could hire an attorney to take this company to court I would do that. They need to pay for treating people like this.

I appreciate their attempts to balance customer savings with agent profitability but it's difficult and often ends up leaving a customer overexposed financially to liability if there is an accident. It's better to ask another non financially motivated agent about coverages you actually need versus going with the standard/state minimum coverages. Unfortunately, like many businesses you must have in-depth understanding about questions you need to ask and no one tells you what you don't know... So you'll never know.

This simple action took him over 4 months to accomplish, his customer service is really sub-standard for State Farm. Without a quick comparison, we would not have known that we are underinsured.

I have been insured by State Farm for 10 years. This site really helped me realize my awful experience is par for the course, rather directed at me. Their goal seems to be to make life unbearable! I have talked to one attorney, who had a similar personal experience. What is their slogan: "Like a good neighbor State Farm is there." Huh, I feel so harmed and violated. Agents cannot, as at about 3.5 years, be involved in the claims process! Instead, I was told when I phoned a person whose name was on the letter, that he was not in. State Farm uses a "team approach" to claims, I was told. They are all independent contractors, which I interpret to mean they have no job security unless they fit the corporate mold, which is how to save a make $ for State Farm.

It starts with the body shop, a State Farm "preferred " body shop. I hit a deer arriving back from the airport and was hit by a deer. The deer hit me more than I was hit the deer! They want to total out my electric-gas car. I will fight every step of the way. An electric gas car that was developed with federal government assistance and my car is totaled! ?? Insurance has not at all kept up with technology, and they think this is a reason to total out.a car? The air bags did not even go off, a frequent reason I understand for vehicles to not be repaired??? Because they are a threat to the status quo?

I routinely paid my insurance bill, State Farm is not at all doing their due diligence and fulfilling their duty, at all. I understand in Europe they will very soon make it illegal to drive a gas car, that is occurring very soon. I have filed with some organizations, also. When I look at pics of my car, damage is minimal compared to deer hits I have had over the years. Insurance was fair and reasonable, not any more! I heard one of founders of Tesla speak at a conference, great, the goal is to have interchangeable parts that will work for all electric cars! Seriously! State Farm is awful, and my problem is not yet fixed, but I hope it will be. What are the chances that State Farm, CPAs, etc are laggards, resist change, and protect their fake "empire." It should be malpractice, and grossly illegal.

There is one agent at local office who wants to avoid what has happened; I think there are risks to learn about claims experiences for them. The national corporate office is very bad, even the comparables were not anywhere close to a comparable. When I learned they were all independent contractors their behavior was explained. They only have loyalty to $$, subzero to customer! Incredible. The story has not reached a conclusion, YET. It is the worst experience I have ever had. Instead, State Farm wants to punish financially people they owe a duty to, so did the CPA I had. In the meantime I think I am on the right side of the problem. Why can't we get along without being laggards?? We owe obligations, let's follow what should be done.

At the end they stated that their assessment was 50/50 responsibility (which it was not) and that I should take care of my own repairs. When I was noticeably frustrated by this I requested to talk to a claim specialist and was put on hold for 10-15 minutes.

When I mentioned this was unfair and that the party at fault admitted responsibility, that there were 2 witnesses in my car of what happened vs the other person's word and that this 18 year old was actually driving on an expired learner's permit they said they would cover 50% of my cost (magically just like that after refusing a few minutes back). I have requested all this be provided in writing and I plan to see what my legal recourse is. If we continue allowing such companies to strong-arm us then they will gladly continue to do so. Been with them for a lifetime. So I bought a brand new MINI in 2013 and told them I wanted full coverage, the kind that will actually replace my car if something happens. I paid my premiums on time every time, and then one day I made the choice to run over the debris in the road instead of sideswiping the people in the next lane. It took out my tire and damaged my rim, and I paid cash for the tow, the rim, and the tire. State Farm paid $0.00 and they admit it. But the fact that I even called, still sitting in my car, thinking I might possibly need a rental (it was after hours on a Saturday!) before I got a friend to come meet me and help me out, means that State Farm entered an "at fault" incident on my record.

Fast forward 2 years, the car now has about 58,000 miles on it, and I break down out of state. I call and say I may need a rental to continue my trip and I'm told that since there was not a multi-vehicle collision, I DO NOT QUALIFY FOR A RENTAL. WHAT??? This is complete and total BS. I would recommend you call EVERY OTHER AGENCY before considering these hacks. They lie, they cheat, and yes, twice, they double-dipped on my premium, which cost me hours of my time to rectify, all without a single "we're sorry" or other acknowledgment of fault on their part... yet they want to assign blame and make the customer pay double what other companies charge...

Just got off the phone with Farmers who quoted me a price for TWO vehicles that was still $500 LESS per 6 months, while Farm Bureau quoted me a price only on the car that I am currently driving at LESS THAN HALF what I am currently paying State Farm for the same vehicle. I've asked them to run some numbers on the one that is getting repaired before I commit to a different company... but... it's NOT going to be State Farm's job any longer!

Then a State Farm agent calls me and tells me how they do so much more than other insurance companies and that they "are always there for me" and serve me which is why they charge a higher premium. I was refusing to sign with them, but the agent kept pursuing me and finally dropped the price lower than what I currently pay with Geico. So that made me happy. Temporarily.

Two weeks later, I received a letter that they have canceled my policy because I recently opened too many credit cards including retail store cards, and there were too many inquiries in my credit report. First of all, I have excellent money managing skills. I have 15 credit cards, combining a total of $75000 credit limit but I only use very little amount from the credit cards and pay the balance in FULL EVERY MONTH. I do not accrue any interest because I use what I am capable of paying back IN FULL.

The credit cards I have opened in a within a short period of time were offering excellent incentives, so it was beneficial for me to open them. It pretty much shows that I am a very responsible person. But because of that, State Farm canceled my policy after making me cancel my existing policy with Geico. I went back to Geico and they slapped me with a higher premium than I paid before just because I canceled and came back to them after three weeks. This short interaction has cost me money, time, and stress. They make you believe that they really dont care about money and they are there for you, but in reality, they found a reason to charge me more money and they were unwilling to let that opportunity go. TYPICAL INSURANCE COMPANY.

I have called them every day to attempt to push this along only to be told by a State Farm Rep that I should just file it on my insurance... this company sucks and are a pack of crooks. So I guess the moral of this story is if you have State Farm and you get into a accident just don't file or answer the phone, that way the claim will just sit and sit and sit.

After having State Farm for 17 years and no serious claims my husband is hit from behind. Other driver gives insurance info and gets ticket. I called in claim on Friday Aug 18, 2017. To repair car is over 5,000 so they total car. They offer 3,300 for car. We tell them we have receipts for 1,100 work just put into car a month before. They say very rudely, "Either take our offer or we will close case." But here is the part that I have problem with. They take out our 500 deductible and give us 2,800. When this happens I have bad feeling we are going to be out 500... After waiting over 2 months and calling numerous times about our deductible now State Farm just tells us that the man that hit us has no insurance and has been turned over to collections to get money back. Really, if man can't afford to pay his insurance he can't afford to pay for our car. I feel State Farm makes their insured carry some of their liability.

Not once has State Farm called or kept us informed about case. Now to add insult to injury out of the blue get a call from my local State Farm office that I need to stop in and sign "some papers". Really? No. I say I can't. Well they are mailing them to me and I have 5 days to sign and return. What? They think I am dumb enough to sign? Is rejecting stacking policies for my 3 vehicles to non-stacking? How can State Farm even think that I am going to sign away triple on my coverage. State Farm doesn't care about their customers. Never sign anything from State Farm. I never thought State Farm would do this to me as a customer. State Farm has been nothing but a problem to us. Cancelled all 3 of my auto policies. State Farm is not a good neighbor. If you have State Farm I would think about changing before you are in accident and get no service and no money for your car like we did.

They canceled my car’s insurance once my policy expired, I did receive official letter, where I was given a due date and I knew my policy wasn’t renewing. They did this to me not too long ago and I didn’t pay too much attention because I was planning to sell this car anyway. My mom received a letter a week ago from DMV stating that she either needs to prove she has insurance on her car, or surrender the plates. She found out that her insurance policy is closed almost 2 months and she was driving without insurance unbeknownst to her. This is all happening in these dire times when my father died 2 months ago... I don’t know what I'd do if she got arrested for them being so careless.

When she called Diana **, agent from STATE FARM Massapequa NY, she also said she tried to call several times and couldn’t reach, that’s how they’re justifying their action. My mom asked why she didn’t receive policy nonrenewal letter... I don’t know how she does business until now, she’s been most irresponsible and careless agent I've seen. Now my mom has to pay fines for almost 400$ for not having insurance for all this time. Worst experience ever, Beware Diana ** and STATE FARM.

I am a good driver. At 55, I have never sustained a loss in a vehicle accident where I was at fault. That was until a couple of months ago. I have State Farm Insurance. I had to drive my classic Camaro to an appointment which is rarely used but it was my only choice that day. Sadly that was a mistake. That morning, I was in severe traffic where things would move and then come to a rapid stop. On one of those cycles, I could not stop in time and I had my first accident of my life where I was at fault. 20 years or so back I was home and two of my vehicles were parked on the street when a lady ploughed into the first so hard that it broke it free from park striking my second vehicle. All 3 vehicles involved were insured by State Farm.

The adjuster had the audacity to try to low ball me for my losses. I realize that is their job but a State Farm ploughed into a State Farm insured vehicle which then broke free and hit yet another State Farm insured vehicle. I think State Farm after many years or premiums needed to take care of their clients. I called my agent who was awesome. She suggested a reasonable approach and we got things worked out.

Now it is 20 years later and thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars in premiums later and this time it was my fault. My first accident and my classic Camaro, I am so disappointed in myself. I know I caused damage to the other driver and this was my top concern. So no injuries which is a relief. Now we have only property damage to work thru.

I understand State Farm covered the victim I hit, thank you. But when it came time to address my vehicle, my classic Camaro with full insurance, I asked if the estimator could contact me so I could meet him at the shop to go over this car in detail, "No problem" was the response. But guess what, that didn't happen. So now the estimator treats this like just an old car. I have stated value coverage but the car is not totalled and will get fixed, but again they won't make me whole again. I made many calls to the claims department and sure they collect your premiums, but when it's time for them to pay up, it's one discrepancy after another. And I did almost all the calling as they rarely were returning my calls or listening.

I strongly believe State Farm is not too different from the many of other Major names that claim to be there when needed but ISN'T. My Agent, same great lady I had before, tried to do what she could, but the company is not in it for its clients, it's only in it for them. I am seriously going to review my coverages with scrutiny. I was going to just fix all the problems and file a Small Claims action against them, but the agent got them to partially cover the damage so it's a mute point but it did show me how unreasonable they are. I suggest you Really compare dollars as all the ads and promotions won't speak as loud as the clients that suffer losses. Why should you pay more for service you don't receive???

I would have given them one star, but Cathy **, my agent was a listener and did what she could and for that I doubled their rating. My agent was helpful. The claims office Sucks! The days are gone when they made you whole without a fight. With State Farm, you almost always have to expect half ** service involving claims, lousy communication if you call their main office and people that will say one thing but will do another. I cannot recommend them at this time even though I at the time of this writing have 10+ policies with them. This of course will most likely change in the coming year... I suggest you look at all your options closely as I plan to. Stay away from companies that do not fulfill their purpose.

On 9/4, I submitted a claim regarding my vehicle. I was told by my agent that for a vehicle to be totaled, there would have to be 75% of the total value in damages. Confident that the damages were nowhere near that cost, I proceeded. My vehicle blue booked at about 28,000$, and there was NO WAY that damages were 75% of that, as I priced out a brand new engine at about $8000, installed. All I wanted was repairs, from a company that is paid to repair damaged vehicles. They also said that if it were deemed a total loss that I could buy the vehicle back from them. Both of these were flat out lies. After some delay, because they immediately took it to the "total loss lot" when I specifically said it needed looked at by a mechanic, I got a call a week or so later stating that the vehicle was totaled. I asked them to show me how repairs would cost 75% of $28,000, and they said it only had to be 30% of the total value.

I was very disappointed at this assessment and DID NOT want to total my vehicle. I then said I would like to buy it back, and they said I COULDN'T, contrary to what they had previous told me. They had backed me into a corner, as 1000$ in diagnosis fees had accrued at the dealer. At this point, I had little choice but to accept their assessment and make the best of a bad situation. I then turned in a list of aftermarket parts, as I was told to do, and they would compensate me for the extras I had installed on my vehicle. I soon received a voicemail stating that all of the listed parts were already figured into the total payout, so I asked them to show me the original assessment which included these parts.

Hours later, I received an updated assessment, along with a statement saying they owed me another 1300$. Had I not asked for proof, they would have kept that money. I feel as though I was intentionally misled, then pressured to accept a total loss. Then, 2 weeks later, I hear that my vehicle was for sale on a lot in a neighboring town. I called them and asked why they could sell it, but I couldn't buy it. They said it was not for sale. After establishing a pattern of dishonesty, I do not believe them and feel as though they are acting unscrupulously. I will be finding a new insurance company very soon.

I have been a State Farm customer for auto insurance for 16 years. In 2016 I reported a fender bender where I was not ticketed and only called the claim in because of damage to my car. There was no damage to the other vehicle and State Farm did go up on my monthly payment due to the accident. I got married Sept of 2017 and at that time my husband wanted to add me to his car insurance. I then canceled with State Farm on Oct. 9 of 2017.

Well due to that 2016 accident the original price that was quoted to me by my husband's insurance company changed. I then decided to just reinstate my policy with State Farm. Little did I know when I called to reinstate on October 20 of 2017 that they noted my account as do not reinstate. The 24 hour customer assistance did not know why and advised me to call my agent Monday morning. I thought, "No problem. I have a long history with my agent and my parents even longer."

So Monday morning I call and I am told that State Farm had already decided not to renew my policy in January due to many claims. I then asked what claims, I only had the one in 2016. She goes on to explain I had 2 tows (I had an older car 2006 before purchasing my new 2015 car), windshield replacement (driving a small stone or debris hit my front window) and then the 2016 accident where State Farm had to pay $1900.

I was shocked because I pay for roadside assistance and had not needed a tow in over 2 years the length I had my new car. Unfortunate circumstances with the small stone hitting and cracking my windshield but again, I thought Florida had laws for replacing front windshields. And my only accident that was actually my fault is the reason we pay insurance to be covered because no one is perfect.

I am extremely disappointed in State Farm and realized there is no loyalty to customers having held my car insurance policy with them for over a decade. At this time I would not recommend State Farm to anyone nor my previous agent. I am disappointed in her as well due to the fact that she knew what was coming down the pipeline and did not advice me so that I could make arrangements for obtaining different car insurance. I will not leave the agents name due to the fact that my family continues to have policies. I am further concerned with what government entities are running or policing what insurance companies do. They seem to be allowed to whatever wherever and that is not acceptable.

I have been a State Farm customer for almost 20 years. I chose this company not because they were the cheapest, but because I thought they were a reputable company that I could trust. Unfortunately, after having an accident, I realize that is not the case. My accident happened on the freeway at night. All of a sudden I feel something hit the side of my car and feel my tire slowly deflating, so I exit the freeway immediately. When I pull over, my tire is flat, my fender has a dent, my taillight is broken, and a panel is missing from the door. I took my car into a reputable repair shop with great reviews. After a couple days, I receive a call from State Farm, saying that they will pay for the body damages, but they will not pay for a new tire!! How does this make any sense? They tell me something about it not being covered in my policy unless I hit something with my tire.

I told them I have no idea if I hit something or not and how would they know enough about the situation to determine that I DID NOT hit something when there are marks all over the car as if I DID hit something. When I called the body shop, the owner told me that when the insurance estimator went to the shop to inspect my vehicle, he was the one that stated "HE" would not be paying for the tire. As if it was coming out of his own pocket. After 20 years of bundling our 2 vehicles and homeowners insurance through them, I told the representative from claims that we would be changing insurance companies after being treated this way. Their response? "Ok, call your local agent to cancel." This alone should tell you just how much they care and value their customers. There are way too many other solid insurance companies to choose from that I am sure will be more caring and value my business.

First off took like 3 weeks just to review pictures and statements, I had to call them every time I wanted to check up on my status or to record my statement. Every person I talked to had something different to say. 3 people told me the other driver was at fault and 2 others said we were pointing fingers so it might not be anyone's fault. Keep in mind I got rear ended and my whole bumper was cracked while this other drive had 3 scratches on the front of his car. My bumper also broke off the following days. I finally called again today and had someone tell me the other driver was at fault and then realized we had the same insurance and goes, "OH you both have State Farm. Let me put you on hold".

State Farm is not a good insurance company. If you're looking for insurance DO NOT pick them. They will constantly change to a new company and change all your renewal dates. I bought my house in October 2007 and when I went to cancel my policy they are charging me because even though it's October and it should be my renewal date apartments it's not now. When I try to get answer they just keep passing me to someone else and then that person says, "Sorry I can't discuss that with you". Try calling and give me another number.

On 9/10/17, after many phone calls, their underwriting team finally completed their review however they charged me a surcharge for a previous accident that was I was not a fault for as the person who hit me had no insurance. In Illinois, I was not charged with a surcharge so I called them back and they resent to underwriting.

After a week, I called for an update and they said they were trying to contact the prior insurance for a letter of proof. Which I obtained the same day and sent to them on 9/16. 2 weeks later, they moved the completion to review from 9/27 to 10/4. And now I received an email that’s it’s been pushed again to 10/25. They want a payment knowing it’s not correct and I’m being over billed but wants to take over a month and a half to possibly fix maybe more if they continue to push back the date to correct. I am moving my 4 vehicles, motorhome, and homeowners policy to another company in fear of their lack of ability to properly represent me. Today I noticed that they had continued to take out $120 a month from my account. As this was a direct withdrawal, I only noticed it when reviewing my bank statements. I called the Support line today to tell them my account was supposed to be closed 10 months ago. They tried to contact my local agent to get this worked out. Again, he was unreachable. I called for quote to add another vehicle on my policy and they wanted me to exclude my partner who is in the registration as well as my name. My vehicle was involved in a hit and run accident with minor damage. I tried to file a claim online which was unsuccessful. I was instructed to call customer service to find out my policy had been canceled.

The rep stated they tried to call me and they sent an email for authorize them to exclude my partner off the policy, meaning that they will not cover my vehicle if my partner drove my vehicle. The second issue I experienced with this is insurance company is claim harassment due to accident that were caused by my former husband. Police reports were filled clearly making it obvious that I was not driving the vehicle and State Farm is still trying hold me accountable for the accidents. They left the scene of the accident without stopping to give information. They went to the police station hours later to get our insurance information and submitted a claim to our insurance without our knowledge. The city attorney reviewed their recorded statement and agreed to ticket them for failure to yield. State Farm will not review any information they have been sent and keep telling us their insured (who they can't contact) hasn't been proven to be at fault.

I can't believe the inefficiency of everyone we have spoken to in their claims department. They do not document any conversations so every time we call they say they will not pay our claim because they have no information. After pressing them, they always seem to find the police report but no one can be bothered to read it. I have no idea how they can stay in business with such poor service.

According to them the measurements did not add up and they denied my claim. Upon further investigation on my parts I do see the measurements add up and it is completely their responsibility to take care of the damages to my car. They will no longer do anything to help me and won't even send me any information that could be useful. And are refusing to cooperate with my own insurance company. I was in one minor accident. The accident was in January, they raised my rates in March at my next renewal. This was to be expected. What wasn't expected is that they'd raise my rates AGAIN this September for the same accident. It went from $746 in March to $965 in September even though I've had no more incidents. Not sure how this company's awful policies and even worse customer service is offering any sort of protection to the customer. I'd be better off in the long run if I'd paid out of pocket for the accident, which was less than $700 damage. I wish I'd never left Geico.

I waited another three weeks with no word, so I called that other company. It seems they were still waiting for damage photos from State Farm. Six weeks into the process and SF had not yet sent the documents needed. SF claims they never were asked for photos, even though submitting color photos is always a part of the process. So I think State Farm is slow, unresponsive and not thorough. I would have my money already if I had gone directly to the other company. SF claims to have the best customer service. So I have taken all my insurance off State Farm. My entire family used to be on it (a total of 5 people) and only 2 remain with State Farm. I got into a few wrecks this year and the last one was with someone who took a left turn right in front of me. The driver of the other car tried to file against me and State Farm completely denied his claim. The other driver was with All State and wanted me to take 30% responsibility because my whole front end wasn't smashed in. This was due in part to oversized, air cooled brakes on all four wheels. (PS the body shop I used and have sent friends to have a couple of things they don't do 1) take AMEX and 2) take claims from a prohibited list of insurance companies – All State was on the list).

The claim is in subjugation and eventually arbitration (which State Farm invites me to fight against All State) so I had to take a collision claim and that pushed me over the edge with State Farm to cancel my insurance because the claim is mine until proven differently. I had been insured with the same broker for 24 years! And the broker's staff can't do horsepucky other than sell and take off insurance. They can't do with anything else including claims (intercede for their customers), at most you call them and they warm transfer you to a 1-800 number, yet they get a commission for every bit of insurance they sell.

I took all of my insurance (home, car, umbrella) from them. They said that a sister company would insure for $6K a year on the car. State Farm is expensive already. I got new insurance on the Home and Auto and my sister did research when she moved to a new house and found the same policy for cheaper and moved her car over as well. So GO DIRECT. It is like a pyramid scheme - your broker can't do anything other than sell you insurance and pick up a commission check at the end of the year.

A driver insured with State Farm backed into my vehicle in a parking lot. The police report stated that this driver backed out IMPROPERLY. He came halfway across the parking lot and hit my car while in PARK position. State Farm is only offering to pay for 10% of damages. Really? Also their driver has a physical disability, Cerebral Palsy. By law, people with this condition must report to insurance company about their disability and must have updated modifications made to their car to ensure they are driving safely and legally. If not driving with proper modifications it can affect response time and reflexes in driving ability. I asked for State Farm to confirm that their driver's car was modified with specific updates for his specific needs. Two different agents told me that this information is not relevant to the situation!! Told me they only insure vehicles and don't investigate driver's health conditions.

Cerebral Palsy is a physical condition that most certainly would affect how one drives a car! State Farm won't even check into this and confirm whether or not their driver is driving a car legally!!! This is negligence to the highest extreme. If someone has vision problems and is supposed to be driving with corrective lenses and they don't comply, then they are liable and driving illegally. This situation is no different. It is unbelievable that State Farm agents are adamantly holding their view that Cerebral Palsy is not relevant or that it could be a contributing factor in a car wreck if the driver isn't driving a properly modified car. I just wanted them to confirm and rule this out and they refused to do that.

Several times I was told somebody would call me back the next day and then days would go by and I would have to call them. There are multiple factors that show their driver is at fault even without the disability as part of the incident. They just don't want to pay the claim. And to say that someone with a physical disability not having their car modified is not relevant?? That puts State Farm in a whole different category. Negligent. Foolish. Liable.

When I contacted my agent they informed me that due to two accidents and a windshield crack replacement in the last two years they will be dropping all of our vehicles. Neither of the accidents were my family's fault and drivers that hit us were cited on each. One accident was my daughter's over a year ago when she was rear-ended and sustained injuries. The driver that hit her was cited fully for the accident. The other accident was my vehicle in which I also was hit and actually transported to the hospital via ambulance. The other driver was cited fully for the accident.

We suffered injuries on both as well as motor vehicle damage. Even though we were not at fault, apparently your insurance company cannot renew your policies. They even non-renewed my son's policy who was not involved in any accident but just happens to live at our residence. So much for customer care and valued customer relationships. But they wouldn't total it either. I got KPIX consumer help involved and State Farm finally totaled the car and offered her $13,000. She accepted. But they will not give her the money because they say she must prove that there is no lien on the car from B of A. I tried several times to retrieve proof from the DMV online, but because the car is so old, the dmv doesn't seem to have information on it. I used the VIN and then the license plate number.

I am doing this for her because she is 70 years old and is caring for her partner who is 75 and he has heart problems and the beginnings of dementia. And she does not have the time or the energy to take care of the car matter too. So she has been without a car for a year. This means that she walks to the grocery store unless she can talk a friend into driving her. And the other day she bought too many groceries and wrenched her back while lugging them back to her condo. Her insurance policy allows $16 per day for a rental car, but she is unable to rent a car in San Francisco for less than $24 per day. I had to go to the Police department and get the name of the guy who hit me (he was arrested and had no insurance information in his vehicle), then Google his name and all his personal information, obtain a copy of the accident report from the police, fax it to the State Farm Claims department people, and so on and so forth. All of that was their job which they neglected to do. They are a bunch of inefficient and inept group!

We moved to CF agency because of his claims of "providing great customer service"... All talk and no action. I have had to do all the leg work and all the follow up. They moved my claim to another department and never notified me, then they tell you that they are going to "look into it and call you back" but they never do. The worst, worst of service if lack of we have ever seen. We have been with State Farm for years but our previous agent retired and we had to find another office. We expected to receive our bill in the mail around the first of August, our payment due date was to be the 28th of each month. Yesterday we received a cancellation notice instead. When I pulled my information up online the BILLING PREPARATION DATE was 08/11/2017 and the PAY BEFORE DATE is 08/01/2017. If the preparation date is after the due date how can they cancel my insurance?

I have been a multi-line customer of State Farm for over 4 years. I actually added an additional auto to my policy this year. In 2016 I was side-swiped by a fellow State Farm policy holder. She lied to the attending officer and said it was my fault despite the physical evidence supporting that it was impossible. I was cited and took it to court. In the meantime, I contacted SF claims to tell them the real story and provide legitimate proof it was the other driver's fault and was only met with an extreme lack of due diligence and disrespect.

The claims person refused to take the accident off my policy. After going to court and obtaining the transcript of the proceedings and witness testimony I reached out to claims yet again. I was given a different claims person that took the time to examine the facts and photos and listen to the transcripts. She ruled in my favor and said that the other policy holder committed insurance fraud by lying and said that the ruling would be taken off my policy and placed on hers.

Everything seemed well until I filed what I thought was my only claim on my policy this year for a minor accident involving only my car. I received a letter in the mail from SF saying they were going to cancel my policy because underwriting deemed I had too many claims in a short period of time. They said that the accident from 2016 was still on my policy against me, very different from what I had been told before. I pushed back and said to read all the notes from the Claims department and then they came back to say that they could not remove a claim against someone once it was placed on their policy. Total BS.

I am a 51-year-old man with a clean driving record, never had a DWI and the last speeding ticket I received was over 11 years ago. I forgot to mention that they wanted to include a time I called claims to report my car had been broken into over 2 years ago but I never filed for any reimbursement. SF said that they would put me into one of their subprime companies, which would increase my rates by 200+%. Never again will I trust them with my insurance needs. Stay away from them.

One accident (not my fault) many years ago, tried to talk to them as I'm not working to try & reduce my coverage, was quoted a price of $95.00 if I went down in coverage to PLPD. I had to do it due to money issues. When I called to give them my new address which I had already done because I had to change tenant insurance because I moved from upstairs to downstairs I asked what the next month of insurance would be & was told $133.00 $6 less than what I was paying for full coverage.

I would NOT have changed to PLPD for a savings of a whole $6 dollars. When I tried to talk to the person who gave the quote of $95.00 she said I did agree to this (no way in the world am I that stupid, she hung up on me because I raised my voice slightly). I called & cancelled my insurance after taking the whole $133.00. I was given a HUGE refund of $22.00 dollars. Nasty, rude, UNCARING insurance company ever. The agent had a great detailed conversation of what the vehicle would be used for. During this conversation I explained I'm going to be a UBER driver. Only reason we got the vehicle (a 2014 SUV) After about 45 mins we hung up and I thought I was good to go.

I went on to drive Uber for 27 days when I was hit by a speeding kid who said "I'm having a bad day." So I called to get my claim. They started the process. Then I was told I don't have coverage on this accident because my AGENT forgot to put a TNC clause on my account ($58 every 6 months). When I told the claims this wasn't my fault and it's the agent's fault they didn't believe me. Told me I'm stuck with the $2600 in damages to my vehicle.

I’ve been a State Farm customer since 1987 with auto, and have insured my home with them since 1994. I also had an umbrella policy with them. Over the 30 years as a State Farm customer, I have had only two automobile claims for a total of approximately $4,500. As a homeowner, I have never had a claim in 23 years. Unfortunately, I had an at-fault accident two years ago, followed by a speeding ticket in Hawaii about a year later. Hawaii doesn’t have traffic school, and my last ticket prior to that was well over 10 years ago. If the ticket had been in CA, I would have gone to traffic school, but Hawaii wouldn’t allow it. With respect to the accident, I unknowingly grazed a parked car in a parking lot, causing a $1,500 claim to the other owner of the car, with no damage to mine.

Once I realized what had happened, I admitted fault, and made sure the other driver was made whole. I met with the police within an hour of the incident, there was no alcohol involved, rather it was just an honest mistake. The owner of the other car was vindictive, so I had to go to court and accepted a 0-point violation for not exchanging insurance documents. I could have fought the issue as I had a solid defense, but was assured by my lawyer that a 0-point violation wouldn’t adversely affect me. This was resolved before my ticket in HI.

State Farm appropriately raised my rates after the accident as well as made an adjustment after my ticket in HI. The two rate increases doubled my premium, but I was assured by my agent that if my driving record remained clean, the rates would eventually decrease. However, with my most recent renewal, State Farm underwriting department reclassified the incident as a major traffic violation and raised my auto rates an additional 300%. I shopped rates, and State Farm was $1,500 to $2,000 more than all other insurance companies for comparable coverage, so instead of $4,000 with State Farm per year, I obtained the same coverage for $2,400 with another very reputable company.

The reason I’m now so upset, is that I was given misinformation by my agent with respect to my homeowner’s policy as well as my umbrella. I spoke with them in advance to make appropriate financial decisions, and I was assured that I moved my auto, that my homeowner’s wouldn’t be raised until the following renewal. When I called to cancel, I was given a totally different answer by the agent’s staff. I was now told that my homeowners would increase immediately and substantially, and that my umbrella was not renewable. I then called their customer escalation department, to discuss the issue as well as voice my dissatisfaction.

At first, they appeared to be compassionate and helpful, but then did not follow up as promised. I had to call back to get an answer. The response of the escalation department was that they must have not noticed the violation, but it happened before the ticket in HI which had increased my rates in my last renewal. Clearly it was an alternative decision by a different underwriter with the exact same information. Net, net, State Farm is now planning to raise my homeowner’s policy mid-term even though I was told by my agent that it wouldn’t happen. I will be changing insurance companies for my remaining polices tomorrow, and I will never conduct business with State Farm again. I would caution anyone from doing business with State Farm as I feel they are unethical and provide very poor service. I’m just happy to move my policies to more reputable insurance companies.

We have been insured with State Farm since 2004, at some point we even had our home insurance with them as well. Last year (2016) I was involved in 2 unfortunate car accidents which I was not at fault. 100% was the other driver's fault and this year they have dropped me because of my 2 personal injury claims. They dropped me as uninsurable and I have exhausted all the options to insure myself and no insurance company will do it. At this point since I live in Florida. Can't drive anymore as if I was a criminal with a criminal background and repeated traffic offenses. I have been put in this predicament by State Farm because they are greedy and they don't care. My driving records are the cleanest you can ever think, I have never been ticketed in my life yet, I have to sit In House arrest because of the way they cancelled my insurance.

At this point I don't know how am I going to be able to work (I'm a realtor) and take care of my 2 children and produce an income to sustain myself and my household. They have definitely ruined my life in a minute after 13 years of paying my premiums religiously. I have been put in a situation of legal counseling to best deal with this situation. The attorney said this is one of the first cases from State Farm's new way to punish their customers, beware and find yourself another company. I don't wish this to anyone, therefore I hope people read this complaint and make better decisions.

Horrible experience! I had an accident in January 2017 wherein my car was totaled and I sustained broken ribs and contusions. Rather than being concerned about me and my injuries, State Farm was concerned ONLY with getting me to sign a document to release my car to the tow company. They wanted me to drive over 40 miles to the tow yard to claim my items from my car immediately, and continued to harass me with phone calls and emails regarding this, even though I explained that I was under doctor's care and not released to drive due to my injuries. State Farm insisted that I was the only person who could go claim my items, and demanded that I do so immediately or they would not be responsible. I also was not permitted to retrieve the brand new battery I JUST GOT from my car. If my car is totaled, why would they need my new battery???

I left several messages for my agent Mike **, because although I thought I had full coverage on my Honda, he never offered me personal medical coverage, which I did not find out until after the accident when I went to the ER and subsequent doctor visits. I had to turn to my private health insurance to help me. My agent NEVER returned my calls and claimed he never received them. It wasn't until I got sick of leaving him messages and turned to another source at State Farm for help that he finally called me back. During the time of my recovery from my injuries (10 weeks before I could drive) my agent never called to see how I was feeling, if I needed any assistance from State Farm, nothing but grief. Due to being out of work all that time and covering medical expenses, I fell behind on my payments and my agent didn't do a thing to explain to the underwriters what was going on, although I kept him very well informed.

Additionally, due to this accident and two uninsured motorist claims the previous year, my insurance premiums were raised. And due to the three late payments (although they WERE PAID) I got a phone call from my agent on THE DAY THEY DECIDED TO CANCEL MY COVERAGE! After he asked me how I was doing, and asked how I wanted to handle the concerns I had been raising, and I offered him an Olive Branch of peace, He informed me that my coverage had been cancelled at midnight that morning. So now, I'm driving a rental car UNINSURED! He had the nerve to tell me that if I needed help finding another company to let him know. He would be happy to help me.

I was furious about the whole ball of wax. Worst company EVER! I love my new company, and they love me. When I told them the State Farm horror stories they couldn't believe it, and told me that they agree that SF did not offer me a premier customer service experience. I've received more customer service in two months with my new company than I received in almost three years of State Farm coverage. I told them it was done and they would come out and update our insurance so our rate would drop. When I arrived to the parking spot, there were no cars either in front of me or to either side. When I returned to the car a short time later... 10 minutes I found a car had pulled all the way up to my parking space, several feet past her marked spot and had hit and broken my license plate frame. I waited for the person to return to her car, shocked there was no note... And yes, it's just a license plate but at that point it was the principle...

After several minutes, I took a few pics on my flip phone and drove to nearby police dept. They waited for her and asked we exchange info and left as it was July 4th and they had a fire call so did not make a report... Again, it was no big deal but I would have appreciated a note or at minimum an apology. Then I contacted State Farm, her insurance, I asked if it was necessary to call my insurance company, they said most people do not so I asked what the law is regarding this in CA and they said it was not necessary.

A few days later I got a call from DAVID ** who could see the cars were attached and that she was indeed in my parking spot but he denied the claim saying I couldn't prove she did it and that he was going to report it to my insurance company, I told him I hadn't reported the claim to them and I would appreciate if he didn't do that. He became more hostile and as rude as a person could be and said, "You have the burden of proof" (which I thought I had met with the pictures). It would have been one thing to simply deny the claim but he was rude, instigative and, in my experience a very unprofessional person. I have shopped around at other insurance companies and I get the most for my value here at State Farm. I like their customer service.

So I am a State Farm insured. I have an auto loan through them, checking and homeowners' policy. I was recently involved in an accident where another State Farm insured rear ended me doing damage to my vehicle. It has been two weeks and my car is repaired but because the person that hit me never notified the insurance company and hasn't been able to be contacted they will not put the claim on her insurance but are keeping it on my insurance and I will have to pay $500.00 to pick up my car. A police report was filed at the time of the accident and State Farm received a copy of that report on the day of the accident. I should not have to pay anything. I wasn't at fault. My agent, who is typically easy going, was a total ** and told me to just pay the deductible and get reimbursed when they move the claim over to her policy.

Here's my issue... this is the second time. I am still waiting on the deductible reimbursement from my home policy from two (2) years ago and it's over $1350.00. State Farm said they would put a lien on my neighbor's property to ensure that I received my deductible back and two years have passed and they have not done it, something that I have checked periodically and called them about every time. Don't trust them! They will take your premiums, get your deductible on your policy but then they don't want to pay on claims of their other insured.

My daughter lives in Houston TX. One morning, a lady flag her down on the highway. My daughter turned around to offer help. The lady told her, it was my daughter who caused her hit the curve on the off ramp and caused her flat tire. My daughter never hit the lady car, for all we know she could of had a blow out & flagged the first available car. So my daughter help the lady as best as she could. She even purchased her a new tire, so she could get to work. This mean lady, took my daughter's State Farm info, and filed a claim. There was no police report, but State Farm believed this lady, paid the claim without a police report & raised my daughter's car insurance. This is what happens when you help people out.

State Farm is the biggest crooks I know! My 16 year was recently in a wreck involved with a person that has ins through State Farm. The other driver ran a red light and caused my car to be totaled. My 16 can't attend football camp this summer and probably no ROTC. MY 16 YEAR old is a female do I mention that. These people not only not want to pay for their driver they have no manners and tell me not my problem and that's why I should have ins. It's ok though cause A. I have a big mouth and work with a large population of my county B. know my legal rights even though the representative tried to act like I'm stupid! You guys are the worst ever!

Had State Farm for almost 50 years. We have never had a problem, everything has always been taken care of. While people look for the cheapest rate, service is what really counts. We have found that State Farm has found us great body shops when needed, pays their bills on time to the provider and takes care of the process without us having to make phone call after phone call. They take ownership of the problem and solve it. One phone call and the process is put in motion. Called for road service 2 weeks ago, State Farm had a truck here in less than 30 minutes, tire fixed, no payment necessary.
