I love my insurance company who is State Farm. They have awesome rates and great coverage. I have auto and renters insurance through State Farm and I have compared them with a lot of other companies and nobody can beat their quotes. I have full coverage on my car with only a $100.00 deductible and my renters insurance is only $10.00 a month for $25,000.00 coverage. I couldn't be more happier with my agent. I also have rental and towing included. Just can't beat them.

I have had to file two claims on my insurance policy since I have had it. One for bumping into someone else so they had to pay $500.00 to get their fender painted but the people that I hit tried to say that I did more damage that what I really did so my insurance company investigated it and I was found to not be at fault for the other issues and was having with her car she was trying to get her car fixed for free or should I say on my dime. Then my second time I had to file a claim I was caught in a hail storm and it took chips of paint off of my car and put dents in my car they gave me a little over $600.00 to get it fixed and my monthly payment didn't go up a dime thank God. The only thing I dislike about them is the grace period if payments are late.

My granddaughter had accident due to the faulty power steering on a Ford Fusion. Granddaughter was charged 2 points for this accident. 9 months later State Farm again significantly increased my premium. It took over two weeks to find out that they had also assigned 2 points to my wife who owned the car. Contacted state insurance agency who said this was illegal and they contacted State Farm. State Farm said that they would correct the miscue. After a back and forth for 6 weeks I received the supposed new premium which is the same as with the 2 points. I am done. Allstate is a little over $400 per year lower cost. Bye bye State Farm.

State Farm is always reliable. They are excellent and they don't drop you if you have a wreck or claim big class compared to Allstate and Farmers. The people are very friendly and always willing to help and go the extra mile. Also prompt in returning phone calls coverage whenever needed with premiums and quick with claims. They have all kinds of insurance for every need that I've ever had and will adjust things accordingly. I have to do is make a phone call and they will cover me immediately. But the prices are high or seem to but they are much better than the companies I've compared them. They just need more coverage for the amount of programs that I pay and maybe some free incentive bonuses.

I like the great customer service as well as the bundling of different insurances like home, auto, life insurance etc as well as continuous follow up to check and see if everything is going good so far. But I would improve the prices of insurance and make sure that it was more affordable as well as a better explanation of deductibles. I believe that bundling all of our insurance should give us a much better price than what we pay State Farm at the moment.

I had an accident in February, it wasn’t my fault. To expedite the process, I paid my deductible and had my car fixed. I turned over the police report, all documentation for reimbursement in February. State Farm told me they submitted the paperwork to the other insurance company for reimbursement the same day. It is almost June and I still don’t have my reimbursement. I found out that State Farm did not submit for reimbursement until the end of April. All communication has been initiated by me. DO NOT go with this company!

I had State Farm auto insurance company. I called them on the phone and they sign me up and I do automatic withdrawal from my checking account then they take it out monthly from my account. The process in signing up for insurance was smoothly. They were very nice and friendly. The associate was helpful and explain the whole policy to me and the processes and choices the way to pay policy. I like that I pay monthly payments. It easier to budget than paying every six month. Have discount for bundling and they have a low monthly rate. But sometimes I do not receive my insurance card with my new policy.

My overall experience with State Farm Insurance has been amazing and I'm incredibly secure with them! I will always stay a loyal customer! The process of purchasing my auto insurance policy was very simple, I walked into a local State Farm office, they suggested a good policy and I walked out an insured driver! State Farm also has the best prices! Any time I call and compare they always come up cheaper than anyone else. Also, I can call my local office any time I need anything done quickly. Their customer service is awesome, if you need to file a claim they are super nice with no hassle!

I've had them for almost 16 years and I doubt I will ever use another Insurance company ever again! Even if someone gave me a cheaper price, because State Farm has been so good to me! They are the best car insurance company to have, hands down! I wish they were cheaper on their homeowner’s insurance though! I would use them for that too so I could get a multi policy discount and it would be easier just to pay one company but it's pretty pricey! But they call me if I'm late on my payment so I don't get canceled and I even get Birthday & Christmas cards from my agent! I love State Farm and State Farm loves me!

I have used State Farm since 1999. My Aunt Norma advised that I give them a try as she has used State Farm for decades. My initial purchase was in Purcell, OK and when I moved, I went with State Farm in Norman. They are very personable and know me by name. I always receive great customer service and they are local. Their insurance rates are very affordable too. And I have used their vehicle towing service and car rental feature while my car has been in the shop. They're just a phone call away any time I need them and Tabitha is usually who I speak to.

State Farm offers reliability. The people are friendly and available to assist you when you need help. The process of purchasing the auto insurance is easy, not much hassle. My husband went to get the policy so I'm not sure what all he had to do but other insurance companies seem to make you jump through hoops. While they are stable, my insurance should take into account that I only drive my car 2 days a week and not very far as a norm. I feel I should pay a lot less since this is the case.

I have State Farm insurance and overall they're great. Cheapest I could find in my name, quotes are always easy to get too and I'm able to add whomever I need to under my insurance without a dime towards the policy. The process of purchasing the insurance was easy, didn't take long for them to take down my information and then have my car insured. While I'm satisfied with the outcome, I wish the payments were cheaper than they are now. It's just hard being a single parent with fixed income having to pay over $300 for full coverage, and for liability it's still $100 or more. Sometimes their prices are a little outrageous. But I tend to use them for as long as I can, unless a cheaper insurance company comes my way, then I'll strongly changed my insurance company.

It has discounts for more than one driver and no accident rewards plus friendly people makes it a win win. They cover anything and everything that I need covered better than other insurance companies I have used in the past. Terrible experience. The owner was very nice for a long time and seemed to be very competent, but then I started having nothing but confusion and it’s been ongoing for over a year. My 2015 is still in their system as a 2014. If an accident occurred my car is not insured although it is, even though they have been asked to make this correction for several months now. And they are being paid. Also, at renewal the agent told me to continue paying the same thing. A few months later I received a cancellation notice for none payment. In addition, one of his representative harassed me by calling me continuously until I threatened a civil suit, telling me my license had been suspended. I constantly told her it was not. Turns out she mixed up my ID with someone else. She informed me of her error, but did not apologize. Neither did her boss. I am looking for another company.

They only share a 800 number for claims that gets the customer nowhere. They give their standard runaround speech and still do nothing. I spend over $6000 a year with State Farm. Surely there are insurance companies that would do something for that amount of money. Mayhem is all they sell apparently.

State Farm issued my auto policy $50/month MORE THAN QUOTED despite even confirming the accuracy of all my information with licensed rep. Because of the bait and switch, I cancelled my policy but a week later they STILL DRAFTED THE MONEY FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT. This is NOT a good way to conduct business, nor do I understand how that's legal. What a terrible experience. ALSO FOR THE RECORD- I used to work there and saw this happen all the time, along with a bunch of other shady practices (which is why I quit). I guess it's my own fault for being so naive as to think they changed their ethics. Don't be as stupid as me and get insurance somewhere else.

I was with State Farm Auto Insurance before when I first started driving because they were my family's insurance. I rejoined them when I got married because it was my husband's insurance company. They have taken care of us well and not given us any trouble when we've had to file claims. I hit another car in our complex's parking lot. State Farm paid for a rental during the time our car was being inspected for damage. When they eventually totaled out the car, they extended the rental. They issued us a check that was more than enough to cover rental charges we incurred while we were looking for a replacement vehicle, completely pay for another vehicle, registration and initial repair costs. During the course of the claim, we found a lot of irregularities in our policies. They were correctly quickly and resulted in credits issued for overpayments.

We have everything insured with State Farm: two autos, home, and jewelry. We are told that we receive a multiple-line discount but it seems that we still pay a high price for the coverage we receive. For example, my car is 13 years old and we're still paying $400+ per year. I've never had an accident or driving violation. However, I am 69 years old so perhaps it's more of an issue of age discrimination.

We filed a claim several years ago for hail damage to our roof. Our agent was so angry with me when I spoke with him that he hung up on me. This was the only claim we filed other than a road service claim that was filed with a different agent. That claim was handled well. We also have a new agent who doesn't respond to his e-mails and that is disturbing and shows a lack of good customer service.

My truck died heading downhill mid-winter, mid-workday. Work friend rope towed me to office parking lot. Wasn’t the battery. I was at the wheel, cranking ignition. He was behind upright hood, telling me when to do so. He caught fire & I saw nothing (hood was up). His glasses burst off his head and cracked. I was clueless what was going on til I saw him past the hood running, screaming. Work was willing to call it workers' comp since we used our own vehicles to go to job sites. I was uncomfortable with that since while I had been in transit between a job site and the office, my colleague was volunteering to help with a non-job-related vehicle malfunction. It would have happened, and I would have needed assistance. Workers' Comp did agree to pay. Even so, so did State Farm. Amazing! ‘Nuff said?

There’s more: I insisted, due to feeling responsible for the whole cray-cray mishap, that we go with State Farm’s willingness to assist instead of Workers' Comp. I have been with State Farm since 1990. That occurred in 2003. There was never a penalty applied for this mishap. No rate increase. No decision to drop me. Just support. My kind of world. In this very world. Bravo, State Farm. Thanks!

Didn't realize I was leasing a low mileage vehicle from my insurance company! Every year I get a notice to verify mileage driven, with 12,000 miles being the national average. This year I was busy and didn't fill out their form, and I get a notice that my rates will be increased for failure to reply. I take the form to the office (I drove 7,286 miles) last year, but the form "asks" to estimate this year's mileage. I put down 10,000 miles which is below the national average, and I'm told that my rates would be jacked up because it exceeds the 7500 mile limits for my "low mileage rate"...which isn't that low considering I have bundled home, 2 cars, and motorcycle. At least she says she will take it back down to the 7500 miles mark.

As many others on here, I have been with SF for 30 years with no claims, tickets, accidents. I asked when this processes started because I have never had to go through this until I moved to Nevada. She replied, "well some things change"... I agreed with her and said "some things will change on my side as well"... Looking for new company, even it comes out lateral payments. So tired of being bond to insurance companies.

I've been a member with State Farm for over a decade, but the way they handle customers is EXTREMELY unprofessional and unorganized. I had an auto accident that resulted in total loss, but when trying to evaluate my car's worth they kept adding cars that are significantly of less value to lower the final price. On the first evaluation, they compared my car to soft top convertibles which are thousands of dollars less than the hardtop convertible that I had. They also omitted optional part that costs over $3000.

On the second evaluation they compared it to two hardtop convertibles, but they threw in another soft top convertible again. Two of these three cars were also corporate fleet vehicles that are generally significantly less in price. On third and final evaluation they it compared to hardtop convertibles, but threw in another corporate fleet vehicle in the comparison. It was taking way too long, so I decided to accept their evaluation.

They sent out a check to me many weeks later, but they decided to send me over $1,000 less than what they told me. They apologized for the "mistake" and sent me a new check, but they decided to write down wrong name this time. They apologized again and told me a new check will be sent. It feels like they are deliberately toying with their own customer, and if they are not it shows how incompetent they are. Once things wrap up I will switch over to another insurance company for sure.

They call back if they promise to do so. I always have a pleasant experience speaking to the representatives. I am able to add a vehicle within minutes. Get an insurance card emailed or faxed instantly. No hassle. But I would suggest maybe an option of parked in the garage (no miles). For a vehicle parked in the garage but you want insurance in case something happens to it. And maybe an option if drove less than 10,000 miles a year. Also if you only have 2 drivers but four vehicles, there should be a bigger discount per extra vehicle.

State Farm paid two claims on an incident and they never contacted me to document my side of this claim and I was their client. Scratched paint on the car and the insurance company pays $2000 on the claim two months after the fact then almost 3 years later $9500 paid for bodily injury on the same incident. No contact with me whatsoever. They just charged my record causing my rates to go up almost double. After I found out about it when I went to renew my insurance they wouldn't provide me with proof from the claimant of his damages. They said that was privileged medical information. I'm paying the bill I should know why and what I'm paying for. Complete insurance fraud by the claimant and lazy practices by the insurance company. It's easier just to pay and charge back to the client than it is to investigate validity of the claim.

I do know State Farm has forced their claims adjusters in the residential loss division to relocate, replacing them with inexperienced people throughout the company. This move has created very bad feeling within State Farm. Just in Murfreesboro, TN. over 2,500 employees have resigned. I have changed companies for my homeowners insurance as I do not want to take a chance on inexperienced adjusters investigating any potential claim I may have.

But I would prefer paperless billing, because sometimes our insurance bill doesn't come in the mail until the day our bill is due. Otherwise State Farm is a great company and will keep using them.

She and her insurance company were very slow with the claim on their end and I could not drive the car with where the damage was. My insurance company's claims adjuster stepped in and got my car immediately fixed at the dealer and got my deductible back for me. Since I need my car for work I was VERY grateful for how quickly this was all done. They were concerned, efficient and kept me informed of what progress was being made every step of the way. The lady who hit me told State Farm that someone hit her and took off and didn't have any info on that driver. They did not send an adjuster to her house to take pictures of her vehicle because she refused to send her pictures. It took them almost two months to finally see it was her fault. No damage was done to her car. She lied about being hit in the back. Now I have been in another accident as of May 12. The lady hit me by leaving her right lane into my lane and hit me but she said it was my fault.

State Farm is my insurance. They are suppose to fight for their customers (me). They have accused me 100% because the lady lied about where she was as her story is fabricated so they believed her over me. My story has never changed and I’m still 100% at fault. Even before the investigation they said it was my fault. I’m done with this company. WOW doesn't do this company justice, at least in how they dealt with me, and three cases I've had over the last few years. I've had three claims with them over the last 10 years: a) Two deer decided to commit suicide on a rental car I had. All State not only put me into another rental immediately, but dealt with the rental agency on my behalf. (Budget sucks if you don't buy their insurance) - Deemed not my fault. b) Soft ball size hailstorm... massive damage. I was out of the area on business. The adjuster came over, took photos, and sent a check minus the deductible... with instructions how to have any of the repair people contact them if the repairs cost more than their estimate (only one did, and they dealt with it). - Deemed Act of God. c) 5th wheel severely wind damaged on trip. They sent out an appraiser to the location within a couple days, and had the full estimates... and quickly dealt with it all. - Deemed Act of God.

    d) Not really "MY" claim, but they were involved... A high school student with the same insurance company "head on'ed" on little car in the parking lot, at about 15 to 20mph. Ultimately it was over $8,000 in damage, because a wire was pinched causing a repeated dead short problem (which was eventually found and fixed). They dealt with it all. - Deemed Other Person's Fault. I have them... still... with no plans to change. They have treated me fairly, well, and haven't jacked me (or my premiums) around, as so many insurance companies do.

Sad, but true. Also for knowing that this company is a member of ALEC and supports the far conservative right's extreme agenda, just so their company can do what it wants. We went to the repair shop recommended by them and the car sat outside the facility (not locked up) for almost 3 months (my daughter had a rental car the entire time. I had to argue for a portion of that because we had exhausted our policy amount on rentals, but this was not our fault). I contacted State Farm and they passed the Buck back to the repair company and finally I told them to get it done! I pay my payments monthly and as their customer it needed to get completed.

This is simply another way of profiling.

Filing a claim with State Farm is not guaranteed to be useful. Even if you read your policy, sometimes the company changes it. I am sure they mail notices, but unless they send you a new complete policy most folks are not aware enough to compare and contrast. That's where the agent is useful. S/he may not control the changes, but they can maintain customer goodwill by communicating with their clients.

But my experiences have varied based on the individual agent. If you get a really good agent, they will take time to review the policies and procedures to make sure you are well informed. If the agent is either too busy or not customer service oriented, you could miss discounts or opportunities for a policy with a better fit for your lifestyle. One agent would ask me questions before accepting the claim, thereby allowing me to get a better idea if the claim is viable or economically sound. This is important because if you file too many claims (and this number is low), even if they never advance, State Farm will cancel your insurance.

A polite and courteous very professional service is offered. They were 'there' for us when needed and were neither pro nor con with the accident and the towing. State Farm have not argued over two claims. Always available 24/7. Fender bender, two vehicles, black ice. No one at fault. A slow speed collision. Airbags did not deploy. Police informed. No arguments were made against the claim by the insurer, compensation was made. And second claim was towing after a systems failure and a 'no start,' situation. Tower arrived very promptly, tower compensated by State Farm on site. (Via phone.)

As a State Farm customer for decades, I find that they're speedy, responsive and wonderful to have in my corner. The few times I have needed them to come through, they have done so with flying colors. My agent's office is very friendly and responsive, and they really do treat their clients like family. They take care of their own, quickly and without a fuss. When my home was burglarized, I got a real jerk of an adjuster. I complained to my agent, and within an hour, had a new adjuster assigned.

They have been great for me up until I had a claim against another State Farm driver. It has been nothing short of a nightmare and eventually I had to get an attorney. Two years ago, I was rear-ended at a high speed by a driver who was texting while driving and plowed into three cars stopped in traffic. Witnesses came forth saying the driver was distracted, so there was no question of liability.

Two years later, they're still offering LESS than my out-of-pocket expenses, not to mention my pain and suffering which was considerable, and six weeks of missed work. That's why I gave them a 3. Five stars for taking care of me when I needed them, but one star for settling a reasonable claim against them when their driver was clearly at fault. Their refusal to pay a reasonable claim angers me, because they have to hire attorneys now for a case which could have been settled for a very reasonable amount. I also think the rates are high and considering the small number of claims I've had since the 1970s, I think my premiums should be lower.

My reviews are only for a current accident and one previous accident. I have been with State Farm for about 30yrs. I have been relatively happy until one really bad year when everyone in my family was involved in a car accident. That said, that's why we have insurance and have been paying for 30 years for Home, Auto (6 vehicles presently) all with State Farm. My previous accident will explain why I am having such a big issue with SF currently.

My Audi A4 "hit" a Honda pilot. The A4 is smaller, lower and I was barely moving when I slammed on brakes while veering right. We couldn't tell if we hit the car because there was no BOOM, just sound of brakes slamming. The car pulled forward and the lady admitted she had no damage from my car. I took detailed photos of her car and my car who had only damage from hitting her tow hitch. I had a perfectly shaped square on my bumper popped in that was not centered, but offset to the driver side of the bumper.

She had damage that she said from backing into something another time. Her husband got involved and blamed me for the damage that my car couldn't even reach that high and far left on their car. I sent all pics, I went to a dealership and took measurements of where the other cars damage was and the measurements of where my damage was. SF paid for their car. They were State Farm customers also. I was pissed. I took a loss on my car because our family had too many accidents and then they just give away money to this family that was lying. It took me 6 mos. of battling SF before I finally spoke to a manager who apologized that his team did not do their job and all of the pics and measurements that I took, clearly proved I didn't damage their car. Yea! Good to go right? NO!

Present day, my 21 yr old son was driving my husband's car, with me in the passenger seat in the city. We just left a vet appt. and were heading home. We decided to go a different direction, so I tell my son to turn left at this street and we will go around the block to go find the business we decided to go to. All of a sudden, right when we both realized that my son shouldn't turn because it was a one way, a car slammed into us. A car that was either following too closely and swerved to miss rear ending us, or was busy texting, or most likely was passing us because she was in a hurry. But it was at the same time that we were going to start to turn. BUT didn't turn. We took pics. We listened to the lady scream at us because she was on her lunch break and she was in a hurry and asking us why we turned? Meanwhile her story changes. She tells SF and the cops(?) that we were either parked or turning right to park in the middle of a 3-way intersection.

She said we were in the far parking lane pulling into her lane. Yet, we were driving and she was in the on-coming passenger lane when she was honking and I looked over my shoulder at her. So at first State Farm tells us it is going to be word vs. word. I am not happy with this, because the woman is clearly lying. She is a State Farm customer also. Apparently, State Farm doesn't want to thoroughly do investigations when it's a SF vs SF claim. It's easier for them to make a quick judgment, right or wrong, and then hopefully no problems or hopefully their customers aren't bright enough to question. I was livid. I told them and emailed them and said I wanted to speak to a Manager and I didn't want to wait 6 mos for that to happen. My next phone call was in March/April. (Dealing with an injury myself and a dog with ongoing medical and injury herself, so I was busy.)

I was told that the accident, both cars, were placed against my husbands insurance. Again, livid. So I again, explain everything, and the SF guy was surprised to hear that we were the car in front of the other car and we were being blamed for both. He said he would talk to his manager and call me back soon. Not 6 mos later. Of course no call. May 8th, I call again, and just ask to talk to a manager. And this lady was just obstinate. That no one at State Farm would make a mistake. That my car has been fixed. (I said no it hasn't and they made the check payable to the wrong business) That the decision has been made and it is word vs. word (again). And that they aren't going to change the decision. I again, said, "All I want to do is talk to a manager." She said, "A manager has already reviewed the case and they are not changing the decision."

I didn't call there to talk to anyone but a manager. I said, "Are you saying that you are not going to allow me to talk to a manager?" She said, "no." That she would send a message. May 10th, I call again. I again immediately ask for a manager. The lady said she sees I called in a couple of days ago and that I am calling because I disagree with the decision? I said. "Yes, among other things." (The other things... My car has not been fixed. And the check was made payable to the wrong business.) She puts me on hold while I wait for a manager to answer. A lady answers, with a claims specialist title. I said, "Does that mean you are a manager or a claims specialist?" She said she is not a manager. That I have already spoken in great length to the lady on the 8th. That she put in the comments about the call that I am a customer who just wants to get her way.

I said WHAT??? That I want to just get what I want? I said, "NO!" I said that I have been asking to speak with a manager since February. And no one has called me. She repeated that the lady 2 days prior noted that I said I was going to get the 911 tapes and go back out to the accident site. I said, "Clearly there is incompetency because why would I need to go back out to the accident scene." That they are the ones who needs to go back to the accident scene to see that what the lady is saying happened couldn't have happened. That I have already gone through this once before with State Farm, and I just want them to do a proper investigation and get the cameras from the intersection we had passed through, and the 911 tapes. They said they cannot get access to either one of those.

So it is essentially a 50-50 chance if everyone decides to lie about what they did at an accident scene. It doesn't matter about recreating the accident scene, or getting live footage. They just want everyone to zip their lips and let State Farms incompetent employees make decisions that affect probably a large proportion of innocent parties because the propensity of people trying to lie their way out of their responsibilities in an accident.

Why should that go against an innocent party. What is the most irritating is that their employees had the nerve to tell me that I am only trying to get what I want. Well if I am the innocent party, would that be wrong? It has happened to me before. SF isn't infallible. Yet a customer of 30 years, they have the nerve to say that to me after my experience with them. After 3 months of trying to just get a manager to give me a callback. I have told them I am going to now call every day until they have a manager call me back. I will post more later as this evolves...if a manager ever decides to call me back...to treat me like a real customer who has been loyal to their company.

When questioned about it, we were told too many claims had been filed. In 20 years of holding that policy, I had filed 2 claims. One for lost earrings; one to replace a stone from a ring that had come out. I don’t think that qualifies as too many claims.

In the summer of 2016, when one of our children, a student driver, totaled our 2007 AWD Highlander Hybrid (which we loved), we did not know that State Farm uses a third party to apply absurdly low values to totaled vehicles. The accident occurred when a pedestrian and a bicyclist were in the street when we turned a corner, and after swerving to avoid them we drove down an embankment and stopped on some boulders. Thankfully, there were no injuries. We thought that State Farm would repair the vehicle, as the damage involved only the grill and equipment on the bottom of the vehicle. But even using non-Toyota parts (!!!) their estimate was over $10,000 and State Farm declared it totaled.

We learned the hard way that the third party used by State Farm to value totaled vehicles would never send a rep to see the damaged vehicle, and would value a single-owner, no accidents, loaded vehicle that had been maintained perfectly, at the dealership, and was ahead of its scheduled repairs, as if it were a base vehicle in poor condition. They literally started with recent history of 2007 Highlander asking prices in our area, without regard to undesirable vehicle issues, and then subtracted for items that they said were not on our Highlander, which WERE on our Highlander. Their dishonest practices gave us numerous headaches. Ultimately, we proved that our Highlander, which cost $40,000 in 2007, was trim level 6966, which means that it had every option available (AWD, heated leather seats, third row seat, Nav, wood-grain trim, etc.).

After six weeks of arguing, we got State Farm up from $9,000 to $13,500 (a 50% increase). We feel bad for all of the customers who have a death or hospitalization associated with a totaled vehicle and do not have the time to fight with State Farm for a fair valuation. If State Farm can get away with it, they will dishonestly value a totaled vehicle as if it were the worst possible vehicle of that make, model, and year, with no options and poor condition, without sending a rep to gather any facts about the actual vehicle. For people who drive nice cars and take care of them, a claim for a totaled vehicle is a nightmare.

Auto rate always increases for no reason around the same time every year, and I’m told that it has nothing to do with me, it has to do with Louisiana’s new rating changes. Funny how it goes up by $80-$100 at the same time each year, which is when my birthday comes around, turning a year older would make my rate would go down $50. For example it was time to renew my policy on April 29, 2018 for my 2015 Camaro, I was paying $453/month including $25 life insurance, at renewal my rate was changed to $530/ month, including life insurance. My birthday is June 1, and I was told that once my birthday came around I would only be paying around $466 for auto and life... which was more than what I was paying prior to my renewal despite no accidents, claims, or violations.

I had no claims and I would steadily see my rate increasing for “something that has nothing to do with me.” I could never get ahead, and my rate never decreased despite no accidents, no violations, and no claims. They would change my rate many times during a 6 month policy, to the point where I got tired and said that I’m tired of getting notices in the mail about rating changes and my bill going up, I had about 4-5 notices from State Farm notifying me of a rate increase that was due the same month. I saved TONS of money by switching to Progressive, and I will never use State Farm again, they’re scammers.

The first time the insurance adjuster came out, they told us they didn't have the proper equipment to get on our roof and they would have to reschedule. The second time they came out, they didn't bring a tall enough ladder, even though they have previously been to our house. They told us they were going to close our claim and in order to move forward we needed to pay a roofer to come take pictures of our roof and send it to them.

Their customer service called me to schedule my rental pick up, the person on the line wanted to argue and go back and forth when I asked him to schedule the rental that was miles from the body shop. He literally called me and wanted me to do his job and tell him which rental, so I told him, "You called me and are clearly looking at the rentals so pick one." While I was talking he started over talking me saying I don’t know the area after giving me 3 rental places and I already picked one. Anyway he hung up on me when I asked for a supervisor since he wanted to argue about the place I picked.

I called back and it was no record of the call or that anyone called me, they also told me they can’t talk to me since I have an attorney handling my claim. So now I’m confused. Why would you call me to schedule a rental, I’m not discussing my claim just which rental service I’m using. Long story short I get to the rental place and guess who I have to speak with? State Farm, I immediately say, "I thought you can’t speak with me," they say, "No we have no record of saying that and we have to speak with you in order to finalize the rental." Full of playing games and giving people headaches, can’t imagine if they were my insurance carrier it would be complete foolery trying to get correct information from them.

We are not State Farm Insurance carriers. However, a women insured by State Farm drove into the back of our RV on October 16, 2017. We decided to go through her insurance. Everything started out smooth, then the problems started. State Farm paid the repair garage in full for repairs, and then never communicated with us that repairs are not going to be completed as the garage had not even received parts until we ask for a rental, which is $1500/week. That is when State Farm decided it was important to put pressure on the repair garage, as the RV was promised to be completed on March 1, 2018. I start tracking progress of the garage to see why things are not be completed. I call every two days, because State Farm is not communicating with us on progress. We notify State Farm that starting April 1, we will be renting an RV until ours is repaired at $1500/week.

When the garage continues to have difficulty getting parts State Farm says all rentals after April 1, will need to go through the garage. I end up having to get legal guidance and find out they cannot require us to go through the garage as we do not have a claim with the garage. State Farm must cover rentals then go after third-party for reimbursement.

Finally they decide to total the RV. It goes downhill further at this point. We talk to five different people within a few days, because you have to talk to whoever answered the phone and we get a different answer every time we talk to someone. Then we are told they are not going to pay off because the total goes above her liability limits. I am very upset at this point and when I voice my frustration of not have this settled within six months I am told I am being unreasonable in demanding a rental until paid in full. After getting additional legal guidance and submitting a formal letter, we finally get their attention and they started responding a whole lot faster. It was six months of fighting and I have their customer service is horrible! I will NEVER carry State Farm Insurance as I would never want anyone to be treated like this. We finally got our money and are moving on. But State Farm wasted a lot of money and a lot of my personal time along the way.

While sleeping, my neighbors' car was hit and slammed into mine. State Farm has been my carrier for 18 years. I have never had to file a claim, unfortunately that meant I didn't know the shoddy coverage they were charging me top dollar for. I had to pay my deductible (which had been switched from 250.00. I originally started with to $500) (again, shame on me). Then they want to put aftermarket, like, kind and quality parts on my car. OEM refurbished. When I disputed that, they said my car was not new since I drove it off the lot and I needed to take it to one of their service centers. I refused. Took it to a reputable body shop and paid 1732.00 to get my car fixed properly. They were paying .30 cents on the dollar for my parts. I paid the difference to get my car fixed. They were supposed to collect my deductible for the claim.

I followed up 3 times in 6 months, and got nothing but excuses, "Oh we sent the paperwork to the wrong place," then, "Haven't heard back yet, no new information." Last week I got a letter stating that they were unable to collect so they were turning it over to the lawyer, and to let them know if I want them to collect my deductible for me. Um...YES!!! My neighbors, whose car was hit, and who hasn't even been driving for 18 years, paid nothing, ZERO dollars out of their pocket to get their car fixed. Imagine my disgust. I was told the agent can use funds from their office to satisfy policyholders in this situation and my agent didn't bother.

They found their coverage to be sufficient for me, and encouraged me to allow them to fix my vehicle in the manner they saw fit. ABSOLUTELY NOT! I have switched to a top rated insurance company and will never again use State Farm Insurance for anything. They used to be a reputable company, something has changed, drastically and buyer beware... They do not cover OEM parts, they do not collect on your behalf and they most certainly DO NOT CARE.

State Farm, however, remains unwilling to accept liability because they "have been unable to speak to the driver of the other car" to get her statement. That was 9 days ago. State Farm told me they have up to 30 days to make contact. Their "suggestion" is that I file a claim with my insurance company, and that company will have to try and recover their costs from State Farm. This is a typical tactic that allows State Farm to avoid having to do any of the work associated with the claim. It also means that I have to pay the deductibles, which I don't know if I'll ever recover. "Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there" is joke! The driver of vehicle 1 normally at fault on a PD report is at fault. The officer in the report evidence support driver 1 moving into drivers 2 (my wife's lane). Facts my wife was getting off to the right in a mile. No reason to move into left lane. Driver 1 was the overtaking vehicle #2 and stated to the Insurance company she saw my wife moving left into her lane? For one my wife has a new VW. Has accident avoidance and lane awareness, makes it hard to switch lanes into someone and no reason for her to switch lanes.

Driver #1 also stated she speeded up to avoid an accident. Not slow down or move over into the left lane which was an emergency lane. That represents not being aware of your surroundings and negligence. Also we had physical evidence of #2 my wife's mirror being bent out and #1's mirror being bent into showing she was in forward movement passing my wife. Plus she stated to my wife not to call the police that could handle it without the PD. PD report shows my wife was the 911 caller. State Farm denied the claim finding the other driver at fault because of lack of evidence and the closing statement was the Officer said both parties had conflicting stories???

As an Ex Officer I feel since it was 10 degrees the officer did not look at the physical evidence until I pointed some things out via phone call. Also the officer should of asked #1 driver why she didn't slow down or change lanes to avoid an accident. So with all the facts and evidence State Farm denied placing fault and the fact we're both State Farm customers. The reason for sharing this review is to let consumers be warned that State Farm Auto Ins. is not the good neighbor they advertise to be. After being with State Farm Auto Ins. for 54 years and now had a claim, I advise you to pick another Ins. Company before you have to go through what I did. To start off with you cannot count on your agent to give you the support you will need to battle the rude claims people.

On Jan. 30 2018 my wife was in our 2013 Toyota Camry that we purchased new. She was on the highway 100 miles from home. She was arriving at her exit and was about to shift into the exit lane when a dump truck hauling a load of huge stones suddenly pulled in front of her car and a huge stone fell from the truck almost landing on the hood of car. No time for my wife to apply brakes or anything. Fortunately the stone did not hit the car but instead the stone went underneath the car doing damage to radiator mounts, motor mounts, engine cradle and also struck the transmission. The transmission oil pan was crushed and a large hole ripped in it losing all the transmission fluid.

My wife called our State Farm agent and the process began. The nearest repair shop was a Toyota dealership a short distance from the damaged car. The dump truck did not stop. We guess maybe the driver did not know what happened. After my wife talked with agent's staff and claims person it was agreed that the car would be towed to the Toyota dealership for repairs. Up till then the process was going okay. When the claims adjuster came to the shop to examine the damage to the car and discussed the repairs with mechanic the adjuster was told by the mechanic that the transmission took the hardest blow and that the transmission should be checked because all the fluid had run out and the fluid pan was crushed.

The adjuster told the mechanic, "For now let's just try putting a new pan on and adding fluid back to transmission." So State Farm had the shop to replace and repair the other damage and put a new oil pan on transmission. My Camry had 42,000 miles on it. After a couple of weeks the Toyota shop called me to come and pick my car up. My wife and I drove the 100 miles back to the shop and picked my car up. The service mgr. explained to me that the only thing done to the transmission was a new pan was put on it and that I would need to drive it awhile to make sure it was okay. He also said that the State Farm adjuster knew this and had it on report that any damage to transmission would have to be determined after driving the car some.

I drove my car from the shop and a few miles away the transmission slipped just before I got on the expressway. I continued to drive the 100 miles back home and on the highway I had no more problems. When I was close to home and exited the expressway the transmission started slipping again. I called the Toyota shop and told them and was told to bring the car back. I called my SF agent and told them what was going on. I also asked the agency if they could tow my car the 100 miles back to shop. She said maybe that she would check and get back to me next day. That night a State Farm claims specialist called me by phone and told me if I take my car back to the shop and they examined the transmission and if the problem was not related to the stone hitting it that I would have to pay the bills that State Farm would not be responsible.

I tried to tell this claims specialist that was supposed to be on their record of claim that damage to transmission would have to be determined. This person would not listen to me repeating I would be responsible for payment. His attitude really upset me and when I contested his attitude he hung up on me and I lost sleep all night. The next morning I got in the Camry and my wife got in our other car and she followed me the 100 miles back to the Toyota shop and we dropped the car off and drove the 100 miles back home. Every time I tried to talk with my SF agent he would not be in and I would have to talk with staff and staff wanted me to call claims that it was really out of their hands?? I just could not get my agent to go to bat for me.

After another couple of weeks without my Camry the service mgr. from Toyota shop calls me and tells me that State Farm purchased a recycled transmission from a salvage yard for my Toyota Camry but he said he was not going to install this transmission in my car because it had 147,000 miles on it. Now that was just great, my original transmission just had 42,000 miles on it. Can you imagine how sorry that was for State Farm to do a customer that way, not to mention I was a 54 year State Farm customer.

I immediately called my State Farm agent and explained to her about State Farm wanting to put this 147,000 mile transmission in my new Camry. On top of that State Farm paid $490.00 for this wore out transmission and was going to be perfectly happy to have it put in my car??? It was at this point my State Farm agent reminded me that this Toyota shop was a State Farm Select choice shop and that this service manager threw State Farm under the bus by telling me that SF was going to put this wore out transmission on my car. I told my agent the service mgr. did not throw State Farm under the bus, but he kept State Farm from throwing me the customer under the bus!!!

Now my agent decided we together will call the claims dept. Of course I had to deal with claims while agent listened on phone. I told the claims specialist about this dirty deal State Farm was trying to pull on me and I asked him why didn't State Farm either fix my original transmission or put me a new transmission in? He said they could not put a new one in because that would be putting one in that was better than original??? So I said to him, so State Farm would be acting in good faith to put transmission in with 147,000 miles on it and my original had only 42,000.

As our conversation went the claims specialist hung up the phone in both our faces the agent on the line and me. My agent was not pleased at all that he hung up on us and she said she did call in to have the person reprimanded. Now more time has gone by and the Toyota shop calls me and tells me State Farm has purchased another transmission from the same salvage yard and this one is supposed to have 38,000 miles on it at a cost of $900.00. This transmission was installed and the shop called me to come pick my Camry up so it is now 3/22/2018 almost 2 months dealing and arguing with State Farm.

My wife drives me back the 100 miles to shop. I take my Camry and head home. Drove real nice on expressway, still in the city and get backed up in traffic bumper to bumper now every time I stop I feel my car vibrating. My rear end is vibrating, my back is vibrating, the steering wheel is vibrating, my brake pedal is vibrating. Wow I am really displeased. Every red light I stop at I have to feel this vibration. I get home and call the Toyota shop and then I call my agent.

Next morning I get in the Camry, my wife gets in the other car and again we drive the 100 miles back to the shop. My car stays at the shop another 7 days and the shop calls me and says they have checked things out and what they suggest is for me to drive the Camry a couple thousand miles and see if the computer on the car maybe straightens things out. I told service mgr. I don't think that is going to happen that all that is a bunch of bull. He persuades me to try it. I call my agent again and she wants to call the claims specialist again and talk with them.

When the specialist gets on the phone the agent introduced us asked me to tell the claims specialist what's going on. First thing I did was to ask the specialist to look at my claim and tell me where we are at at this point. His answer to me was that this claims case was closed. I asked him how my case could be closed and my car has not been fixed??? I go over this vibrating experience with him after this other recycled transmission was installed and explain to him about the shop recommending me to drive the car awhile and see if the problem works out. So the claim specialist says he will keep the case open for one month and if the shop send in another estimate for problem they will take care of it.

So far I have put several hundred miles on the Camry and it still vibrates. Again I repeat I have been with State Farm Ins. for 54 years. They are nothing like they use to be and since I have been through this I have talked with a lot of people that also had to drop State Farm because they are only nice and good as long as you don't have a claim.

I called to get a break down of my auto insurance because I wanted to know why it was canceled so early and why was my monthly payment up to $336 to reinstate my policy. I became a customer on January 29th of 2018 and I put a down payment of $126 down for 2000 Honda Accord that mean my payment wasn’t due again until February 29th. I added my 2005 Ford focus on in February 25th of 2018 and paid my $84 upfront. I transferred my 2000 Honda accord to my 2004 Chevy Cavalier on March 5th. Now they are saying I’m 30 days past due and didn’t prorate the amount and cancelled my policy.

I tried calling and my calls was screened and they sent me to voicemail. The office closes at 5 pm and I called at 4:45 pm to make my payment of $336 and they screened my calls and send me to the 1800 number... They are not concerned neither do they value their customers. They don’t care and they tell lies on every single call. I will be searching for another auto insurance company. State Farm is not a good company to do get insurance with. They are reasonable but only for the first bill after that you will have unknown charges and cancellation. BEWARE.

According to a supervisor, it is their policy that if they can find a used part that's all they will pay for. This is completely unacceptable to replace used parts on a new vehicle. Another friend of mine cancelled her policy with State Farm after they did the same thing to her on a new Mercedes. Avoid this company!

I loved State Farm, for past 23 years, till this accident claim that was not my fault. They took wonderful care of my home when wind storm took 1/3 my roof off and 2 months later a torrential rain storm knocked out power and flooded my finished basement in 2009. (Those are only claims I have ever had on 24 years of home owners policy. Both unavoidable.) But this fall, the service with my auto accident where I was hit and run by some dummy in the most ridiculous and nonsensical manner, made me realize how bad customer service has become. The cops got her and she admitted what she did, but my insurance has to still pay my medical bills.

I've been paying for 50,000 of PIP coverage for 24 years with NO CLAIMS till now with State Farm. (The legal minimum is 4500.) They told me wrong info about who would pay my medical bills, then they made it a hassle to get help to finish my yard clean up for fall that I could not do because of injuries I sustained. Then they told me I only had 2000 of PIP, then when a lawyer for my health insurance told me I had to have at least 4500. I called them again and they told me, "Oh Yeah, you have 4500." Then my physical therapist was the one who told me I have 50,000 of PIP coverage. I called State Farm again after checking my policy and they said, "Oh, yeah, you have 50,000 in coverage."

This has been my worst experience ever and my first auto claim in 24 years (with exception of rock chips and a replacement windshield 18 years into my coverage). Their customer service has gone downhill BAD since 2009. :( And the new agent they assigned me 3 years ago when my original agent retired is not very good. I don't feel comfortable with her. She is not knowledgeable and I don't feel any trust with her like I did with my original agent.

I have been with State Farm insurance since I started driving in 1982 and have not had a ticket in 25 years. My dissatisfaction started several years ago when I received a notice that State Farm is no longer offering homeowner insurance in Florida. I, of course, had to find another company to insure my home. A few months after obtaining new insurance I was informed that State Farm changed their mind and is continuing to offer homeowners insurance in Florida. When I tried to re-obtain homeowners insurance with them, they told me they were not taking new customers. In 2016 I backed out of my garage and into a guests car that I forgot was there and in 2017 my wife bumped the car in front of her at a stop light when it turned green, not even hard enough to scratch her white bumper. Now State Farm is canceling us under their Mutual company but they graciously offered to insure us for the low price of $5200 per year, three times our previous rate.

Unfortunately, I have been a loyal customer over the years even when cheaper rates were out there and I have used them for previous and current auto loans. I will never recommend them again and will be moving my loans to another company. Like a bad neighbor, State Farm will turn on you in a second or run away when you need them.

This past year, I had 2 accidents, one of which ended up totaling my car, and the other a minor fender bender, but I did not receive a ticket for either incident. This past February, I purchased a 2018 Ford truck and initially State Farm insured it. Well, after a month, the underwriters suddenly decided that they were not going to insure the truck as well as discontinuing coverage for another vehicle with little warning.

When I called my local agent's office, they informed me that my truck was no longer insured. And, instead of offering to see if there was another way State Farm could insure the vehicle or explaining to us why we were dropped other than a sterile letter from headquarters, they simply told me to shop around and that I could return to them in 2019 when one of my accidents comes "off my record." Up until now, we have not filed any major claims, I have never filed a personal accident claim, and my driving record is perfectly clean. And, we haven't been late on payments not have we been delinquent.

But besides that, we have been loyal customers with them for OVER 25 years, and yet, because we may post a temporary financial "risk," they dropped us like nothing mattered. We are in total disbelief and angered by how this company has treated us. So, we are in the process of removing all of our policies which we have with them and will transfer it all to another insurance company. They have lost some loyal customers and we will definitely NOT be recommending them to anyone anymore!

We live in Oregon with a Revocable Living Trust in each of our names. We have State Farm Insurance (for over 50 years) and have had the trusts since 2002. State Farm now is saying that everything we own in the trusts must be listed as the “owner” on our insurance policies. So now we will lose the multi-car and drive safe discounts not only on the vehicles but also on the homeowners policies (per our agent). This will amount to $800 or more in discounts to us each year. On the homeowner insurance alone, it is going to be a $400 increase on the policy. We are unable to see the vehicles online and ability to pay online also due to the change to the revocable trusts.

According to our agent, this has been in place for “2 to 4 years that it must be listed as the trusts being the owners.” They have no answers for why it was not changed sooner, nor are they willing to list the trust as an additional insured on the policy as it was in the past. The agent said that I was “bugging them with questions” so I am changing agents. I’m sure that I am not the only one who has been forced to have the trusts as the owners on the policies, so therefore, they should know the answers.

They do not know their jobs nor are they willing to find out the answers regarding the change that they are forcing us to live by. They thought the problem was with the trusts being listed different ways, so now I have at least 30 envelopes with changes for a homeowners, 2 cars, quad, utility trailer, and umbrella policies. I have 10 on 1 car where they keep changing the wording of the trust. In the 50 years that we have been with State Farm, we had only had a small amount of claims and not that much money on each claim. This review is not about the State Farm local insurance agent offices, it's about the how the main office handles their roadside service. It is by far some of the worst service a person can encounter. I needed my disabled Jeep towed to my mechanic. As of this moment, I am on my 4th call to State Farm requesting a tow truck in three days. Day one, I requested a flatbed for the tow, and they show up in a regular tow truck. Day One, second request, State Farm apologized for the mistake and sends the flatbed out. I instructed State Farm to tow my vehicle to my mechanic which I provided the address. My mechanic calls me several hours later and tells me that the vehicle has not arrived. I called the tow truck driver and asked him where did he tow my vehicle, he asked if he could call me right back. Ten minutes later, no call. In fact I called him back at least ten times and texted him to tell me where the vehicle was.

Finally he picked up. His response "call State Farm", at that point I was demanding that he tell me. He towed the vehicle to some mechanic shop that I never heard of. No apology, he would not go back and pick it up, NOTHING. Meanwhile State Farm had received notification that the tow was completed, so when the State Farm called to verify I told them that the driver towed the vehicle to the wrong address and furthermore he was refusing to tell me where it was dropped off. Moving Forward. On my third attempt to get the vehicle towed, I received a text confirmation that they were to arrive by 9:00 am. At 9:01 I called the tow coming from the number that was provided by State Farm. Tow company stated that there was no tow truck coming and I needed to call State Farm. I called State Farm, they stated the tow company did not receive the order to come get my vehicle.

Now on my 4th attempt, the State Farm representative contacted another tow company and stated they would be here within an hour. As of this moment, I'm waiting. I have to say, these type of business practices are unacceptable. What I didn't tell you is how many supervisors called me to remedy the problem, and nobody was able to help me. I have 4 vehicles insured with them plus my homeowners, I will be seriously looking for another insurance company before my policy expires. I hope their management reads this. For a simple request to have my vehicle towed, I'm about to have a blood vessel burst. Next time I'll call the tow company on my own, then just submit the bill for reimbursement. Warning, State Farm is not what it claims to be.

My daughter and granddaughter were sitting at light when a drunk hit her from behind. My daughter contacted State Farm from the scene of the accident. The agent asked if she wanted to file with her insurance or the other drivers. As the other driver was arrested she said her insurance. The agent did not explain that in choosing this it would show up, as an accident that was her fault. It took State Farm almost 3 months to decide to total the vehicle. In all of this, I called Progressive and State Farm and was told it was not her fault but if you look up our driving records they filed the accident under My Name and we were canceled!!

I had a basic claim where I hit some curbing in a parking lot due to insufficient/no signage. This happened on Dec. 24, 2017 and I still don't have my car back, and won't for another two weeks. I have a fairly unique car - an Audi S3 - which required some specific OEM parts to rebuild the front suspension. State Farm insisted on salvage parts but the Audi mechanics did not want to use them because of the sport suspension. A3 salvage parts would not work. I assumed S.F. would be reasonable and be able to understand my situation but they kept saying their contract only allows for salvage parts.

The end result is I just paid $4200 out of my own pocket and they paid approximately $6,000. This is not the superior insurance I envisioned when I switched from Met Life to State Farm. I am cancelling any policies I have with S.F. because they are real pieces of **. Not to mention that I incurred $600 in additional car rental expenses since their $1200 allowance was exhausted after the car continued to sit while S.F. adjusters made 4 visits to the Audi shop. Inexcusable!

When I called 877 everything was ok. Rep. set up towing. When so-called late claims, and gave representative named Brianna crash # from police report (police officer told me that other party got citation). Rep Briana kept asking questions, although I provided all info already... Then she stated that State Farm did not set up towing!!!! And advised to call police. I repeatedly explained her that actually State Farm set up towing. When I asked a supervisor, she did not transfer me to supervisor.

I was able to facilitate the repairs to the vehicle at little time lost or inconvenience. Claims went out of their way and processed immediately without any unnecessary delays or excuses. Service was expedient and courteous, and extremely efficient. They kept in touch regularly, and minimized any inconvenience or problems.

My comment as a "9th" year Policy Holder. Varied price quotes over the same input information among State Farm agents who run their offices within 15 miles radius. One month before policy expiration, the amount of previous premium was suddenly raised and informed me by mail when it was already paid off 6 months ago (The state farm policy period is 6 month only). Constant small amount of premium hikes even though I have "never" made any claim of any kind.

Deceptive Ad to lower the premium when in reality it does not exist since no such service available (when brought to their attention, an excuse was that it "may" be available some day in the county seat I live. It's been a long time since then but it is still not available). Incorrect processing on the state PIP option on my most recent renewal (selected "opt out" on the form submitted to them but was processed as "accept") and had to have them corrected. At this renewal time, I am now checking other auto insurer.
