I was in a car accident on thanksgiving night when I was hit. She ran a red light. When the police got there they said that it was her fault. When State Farm got the police report they said to take my van to the body shop but two weeks later they said that they were not going to pay because she said she had the green arrow. There was no green arrow. The light was green. That was two days before Christmas. They put me in a bid.

I have been with State Farm for over 20 years and my parents have been with them twice as long. 2 years ago I was involved in an accident where the other driver was found at fault as he backed out of his driveway onto the road in front of me. Then he filed a lawsuit against me in which he made up a part of the accident that didn't happen, and claimed he was injured in it. After the accident he was posting pictures on Facebook of himself lifting weights and vacationing when he was supposed to be injured. Instead of State Farm doing the right thing and fighting it they are trying to settle with him. I am leaving State Farm as soon as I can get new insurance, and I am asking those who want to stand up to insurance fraud to do the same. This is why people continue to milk the system, because insurance companies keep letting it happen instead of trying to shut these people down.

I have had State Farm Auto Insurance for over 30 years. I have had few if any, issues concerning their dealings with me. I had a minor accident that was my fault. No one was hurt. State Farm took care of the person whose car I hit with no issues as well as fixing my car immediately. They took care of contacting the auto body shop for me who then called me with an appointment. My car was repaired in a little over a week. It was smooth sailing with State Farm when it came to the accident described. I will continue with them for the immediate future.

I switched over to State Farm because I was told they would give me a great rate by an agent that was advertising. I have one of the safest cars on the market. I take very good care of it maintenance wise because it is expensive. My pride and joy. I had hit a semi truck whole tire in the middle of a 2 lane high way going 55 miles per hr at night on an unlit highway on my way to work at 945 pm. I filed a police report, had my car towed to a clinic of theirs because I had fluids leaking the next morning. Had front damage, damage underneath my car and who knows what else. They only paid for the cosmetic portion.

Never did they do a mechanical check on my car which I requested. They wouldn't let me take it to the place I wanted to for both body and mechanical checks. I may have to pay for it. Their recommended clinic advised me to get a second opinion on what the outsource company had said I needed to have new shocks and struts before they would do my alignment. Which in turn would cost 1400.00. Outsource said that's crazy.

To make a long story short. My repairs were $4000.00 that I had to pay out of pocket to get my car fixed. I can't drive a car without it being aligned etc. I have invested to much money into my car. Adjuster lied, they never got a copy of my accident report stating what happened. They stated claim said it happened at 930 am not 945pm at night. They stated that I said I hit "something" in road never mentioned semi truck tire which I had pic of. They said adjuster had contacted me which he had not ever when I had requested to talk with him.

My agent never returned my calls. Had to talk with Manager. They raised my rates 60.00 while my car was in shop for 3 months cause I didn't have my Bluetooth gps State Farm navigator on (I removed everything from my vehicle when I had my car in shop, wasn't driving it). The car rental put the bill for three months on my debit card instead of billing State Farm directly like they said it would happen.

Instead of putting my payments on hold for three months cause my car was being fixed, I get a notice saying it's illegal to go without insurance. Please reinstate. It has been a total disaster since day one. Auto repair shop said I would hire an attorney... so I did. I'm just a average single parent with a kid in college. I could of gone to the ER and made up some big story. It would of been easier if had gotten injured. They should be excited that I have a very safe car and how I handled the situation. Instead they take my money make me pay deductible and screw me. I've hired an attorney. This is a nightmare!!!

State Farm was more concerned with themselves than my welfare. In general their customer service has been terrible. I ended up getting business and renter's insurance elsewhere. The only time an agent had time to speak with me was after the accident and when I proved someone involved was filing a false claim and saved them thousands. The only response I got was for them to raise my rates. Every time in the past 7 years I asked for an agent, specifically the agent that was assigned to me, he was always too busy. They raised my rates every year even though I had a perfect driving record.

Filing claims is fast, easy and dependable. We have been with them for over 30 years and have always had great service, great rates and always there when you need them. We have everything we own covered under State Farm. Our rates are a lot better than any other company, I know this because I have called just to see what they would quote me. Our agent is the best - never put on hold, always returns calls within the hour and is very helpful.

I have been with State Farm since 2014 when I got my new car. I am on a policy with my boyfriend. I bought a house in 2016 and used State Farm to cover our homeowners policy. Unfortunately in April 3, 2015 I was hit by a drunk driver while I was stopped at a light heading home from work. March 2, 2016 I was rear-ended while I was stopped at a light headed to work. And a deer jumped out in front of me in October 2015 on my way home from running an errand. There was very little damage and if I didn't get rear-ended in March, I wouldn't have fixed it at all. BUT because of the frequency of the accidents in a 3 year time span, State Farm underwriting will no longer cover me. 2 accidents were not my fault and I was stopped.

My boyfriend has been with them for years, so if we were married, even though we live together, and/or his name was on my car title, then State Farm would cover me. Why do we have insurance? To protect us from the ones that cause accidents... right? I am being punished for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I am being punished for actually abiding by the law and stopping at traffic lights. On a side note, the second accident State Farm didn't have to pay for. The driver that hit me; his insurance paid for all the damages.

I will say that I did love working with Katie Harris State Farm Agency. They were always helpful when State Farm forgot to take out my monthly auto-drafted insurance payment. They were even just as helpful when we first found out State Farm wanted to drop me. They even got me a temp policy until underwriting was finished. Apparently underwriting cannot read the Police Reports. So they sent me a letter stating that I am eligible for insurance coverage through the Georgia Automobile Insurance Plan. This plan is for high risk drivers. Both accidents I was stopped at a light, not driving? How am I high risk?! Explain that one... Oh yeah the frequency I was in an accident when other drivers hit me. Not me hitting them.

State Farm underwriting has put me in a bind, and I am scrambling to get insurance by Friday. This is unfair that they put me in a risk category. Look at my entire history of driving. LONG GAPS of no incidents at all since 1992. And I can remember being hit in 1992. Then I was hit in 2005. They need to take that into consideration. OH... and still haven't gotten my $500 Deductible or my 20% car rental back for an accident I didn't cause on April 3, 2015. I should have never had to pay that deductible since I didn't cause the accident. That drunk driver hit 7 of us and only stopped because he plowed into a stopped Cadillac SUV.

I was in an accident in which a commercial vehicle ran a red light and hit my car. Since I live in Michigan it is a no fault state and I was told that I could file a mini tort claim against the other ins company. So I proceeded to do a mini tort to get my deductible paid. I gave State Farm all the info they needed police reports witness info other ins. State Farm assured me that they would help me get my deductible back and they would forward any and all info to the other ins company. After almost 2 months later they informed said they couldn't forward the info and that I had to do everything myself. With so much time been passed the other ins company couldn't contact the witness. The other ins company denied my claim cause it was lack of info. State Farm did not assist me with the right info in a timely manner. I have been with State Farm for 20 years and I have never been treated like that before. I will be leaving.

It was easy and took less than 5 min, the claim was paid promptly to the other person involved and my rate did not change the next month and I wasn't dropped. Best rate, fast and efficient with road side Service and customer care (note at least with my agent Dominic out of Milwaukee, Oregon). He has insured me with great service. I did have to deal with corporate one time with roadside assistance and had issues so I called my agent. He fixed everything and gave me a Card for local businesses they contract with and never had any other issues. The best Insurance company I have had in 40 YEARS of driving.

I have been with State Farm for close to fifty years and before, I could call my Agent and he would take care of everything for me. But in my latest claim, I could not go through him, I had to call the claims division. The claim was for a rear bumper that was hit in a grocery store parking lot. It was considered a hit and run. I spoke to four different claims agents and all four gave me a totally different explanation of what would be covered and what would not. Two of those agents when I questioned them were the rudest people I had ever talked to. I finally called my agent and he called the claims division for me and we finally got the correct information. If it were not for my agent, I would have cancelled my insurance. Based on my experience with the claims division, I am very disappointed with State Farm. But I love the relationship I have with my Agent which is the only reason that I'm staying with State Farm.

After 20+ years of insuring my homes, cars, boats, and more. Multiple umbrella policies. With absolutely no claims!!! I was rear ended by an uninsured driver. State Farm treated and is still treating me like I am the uninsured. Very poor, slow, and only a partial repair on my vehicle. Never once did I even get to see or speak with an Adjuster. They turned my own words around to use them against me. I am still being treated for my injuries. Now 5 months later they are trying to abuse me again over the medical. All this after they called me months prior and said for having such a good record. I would have a free accident without any penalties to me. Very disappointing. I thought paying high dollar for quality insurance is what I signed up for. Obviously NOT!!!

I have since chosen to pay less somewhere else, if all I am getting for my money is abused. Please BEWARE!!! Agents sugarcoat everything to get you to pay for. Spendy Abuse later. I would like to add for those of you in the Lake Oswego, Or. area. Patrick ** was my agent. Will NOT help you when you need it. But, he will sell you more coverage for next time. State Farm has mastered the run-around phone call messaging service. And, they have relationships with car repair businesses that can be found next door to the insurance office... how convenient. You are out-foxed before you have a chance. When we had trouble getting help with our claim, we called the State Farm agent that sold us the policy. He said that over the past few years things had changed for the worse with customer service and that he could not get through to anyone who could help customers with policies either. I finally called the main home office at State Farm. I faked being someone who knew the CEO and managed to get to the assistant to the CEO. I was listened to and some action was taken from the very top. Ha. Even so, my car salesman rescued me with little help from State Farm.

My mother took the car home, parked it and only used it again to return it. About a week after, she was informed by State Farm that she was being dropped because of two accidents. One of them was supposedly damage to the rental car. My mother insisted she did not damage the car.

An adjuster, who had NO IDEA what my mother looked like went out to investigate the damages and was given a videotape of the woman that did the damage. It was NOT my mother! The adjuster never bothered to go see my mother to determine whether or not it was her. He made a decision based on a videotape of some woman and nothing more! What a JOKE! My agent is a passive part of a business with a nonexistent culture of customer service. Recently my monthly auto-payment did not go through. I didn't notice, but State Farm immediately canceled my car insurance and reported it to the DMV. Result: I had to pay almost $700 dollars fine to the DMV, and almost a civil suspension of my driver's license, plus - at this moment - two years of probation. This for not to mention the most dangerous thing: for over one month I was driving in my car, with my children and family, without insurance, and I did not even know about. Got a miserable email from State Farm to alert me about that, not a text message to let me know, not even a phone call. State Farm is the riskiest insurance company I have ever had.

After waiting patiently for an entire year State Farm decides it is in their best interest to drop my policy!!! Give me a break State Farm!!! Instead of helping my situation, they punish me for it even though I'm not at fault!! I will be suing State Farm for breach of contract and taking them to court. I could have been killed in this automobile accident and instead they choose to drop my policy hurting my driving record even more, even I was not at fault! A few months ago, I moved from Indiana to Ohio and switched insurances from one State Farm agent to another. I really believed the person who did my insurance in Ohio was very knowledgeable and tried to make the most with my money, but I was wrong! The agent quoted a price which later I found out I had to pay more. The agent told me an amount prior to signing up and was charged a different amount after committed with their office. I was told a certain due date over the phone and found out the payment was taken out of my checking 5 days earlier. The person on the phone imputed the wrong expiration date which denied payment and resulted in cancelling my policy. It took more than 2 months to change my address and was told they have to cancel the policy to do so.

After the policy was cancelled, the agent forgot to reinstate my renters. When I called the corporate office to complain about my billing uncertainties, I found out the renters was not active and my life insurance was still with the Indiana office. Also, I got charged for changing the address not from Indiana to Ohio, but from the apartment office to own apartment within the same complex. When asked why my renters was cancelled was told different stories from different agents... No one seemed to know exactly why. My renters and car insurance appeared and disappeared on my policy. I received 2-3 bills within the same month; each one had a different amount to be paid. I am afraid to drive because if I get in a car accident I will find out that I may or may not have the insurance to cover me or the other car. Same with the apartment. I don't know if at this moment my apartment is covered or not.

It is a hustle to be insured by State Farm. I constantly have to check for the correct amount when billed, correct dates, coverage and billing. The agent was never on top of her game! She cancelled policies that should not be cancelled and did not reinstated them when needed to. I am a busy person and could not deal with all the calls and corrections I had to keep track of. When I called the corporate office I was basically told to go with another insurance company. A lot of mistakes on invoices, coverage, and did not stand by their mishaps. If you have the chance to go with a different insurance company that is more reliable and deal with people that stand by what they say... You should be in a better position than me at this moment.

I received a quote for my new coverage which was a good price. The new payment was reflected for October and I finally decided to do the auto draft for the payment. Well little did I know until January that not only did they skip a payment for November but they increased my payment for December. I called once I discovered this as like most people we live off a budget.

Little did I know when I called the Virginia Beach office to discuss my disappointment as they did not have authorization to adjust my payments nor did I request to have a payment waived. My first response was "You don't play with people's bank accounts. When you agree to deduct a payment you are to deduct what you were approved for." Nonetheless I was told that if I cancelled my auto draft I would have to put a payment in reserve. I've called the main office and I am waiting on a response.

I don't feel that large companies have any loyalty to long term customers. State Farm unfortunately is a perfect example of this. They have my driver's rating at a different level than it should be. I've been in one accident a small fender bender in 10/2012 yet they are charging me an extra amount for this. When I asked about it I was just given stock answers. In the past also the process has been very slow. I filed the claim recently. I haven't heard back from them at all. Slow response time. I think that in these times loyalty to businesses would be more important. Since you have so many choices.

They convinced my husband it was best not to file and that if we did that they most likely be under review by the insurance board for the State of MO. They would more than likely cancel us out and make it very difficult for us to get any other kind of insurance. My husband's wedding band was stolen!! It was under a special articles policy!! State Farm has paid out on 2 accidents in the last 10 yrs that I had due to medical issues. But when we went to them with the issues that our home was broke into I was feeling really violated by these perps. But to go to the one company I thought would be there for us and help us thru this time was State Farm. They shot us down and we left the agent's office feeling like we had just been violated again. We have considered changing companies and that day still may come.

Be careful when claiming a minor damage to your automobile due to a "hit and run". They will not have you claim it under uninsured/underinsured motorists. Deductible is now $250.00 and yes it used to be $100.00, but they will put it under collision which will show up on national record as a at fault accident. No you do not benefit when they put it under collision. Their pot of profits from the uninsured/underinsured will now rapidly. Now you will also pay higher rates.

I left State Farm after 30 years of being with them. They could care less if you leave. Even the agent himself is too busy returning my call. All members of my family have left State Farm not only here in Texas but other states as well. It's a pity how they treat loyal customers that they have to leave after 20-30 years! End effect they refuse to change the "at fault accident" which also relates paying higher premiums when you leave for another insurance company.

During this time I had to call to find out that the agent I thought I was working with quit. Then when they told me what paperwork I needed to give them, they forgot about 2-3 different papers they needed for it to go through, causing it to take even longer. This also caused me a late fee since you only have 15 days to register your car before a late fee is applied. I asked if they would pay it, since it was only because of them I had a late fee. They said no. I called for insurance two days after obtaining the car, figuring it would leave me with plenty of time. I will never trust State Farm and am extremely disappointed in the frustration they caused me, and their poor efficiency. I called AAA and they had insurance in my hand in less than 24 hours, for less than State Farm.

I have had auto insurance with Allstate for 12 years. I had a couple of problems and decide to change it over to State Farm Insurance. I had the insurance for 3 months and last week I had two very unfortunate mishaps with my automobile on the 26th of December. I came out of the store to find that someone had done something to my car. It was scraped up. There's no question it looks like a shopping cart. However State Farm says that shopping cart is a collision and I will need to pay a $500 deductible. Unfortunately 3 days later I was rear-ended and the person who hit me drove off. I contacted State Farm and I was told that I will need to pay yet another $500 deductible to get my car fixed although I do have insurance for uninsured drivers.

My agent no longer will have anything to do with the incident and he told me that if I had problems with any of the claims or the estimates that I needed to contact the adjusters or the estimators and there was nothing he could do about any of it. So not only was I abandoned by my agent and left to deal with all of this not knowing anything about policies, I'm out of thousand dollars for all kinds of damage that's been done to my vehicles not due to my fault at all. I'm very sorry that I left Allstate and this experience with State Farm has cost me dearly. I am now in financial ruin. As a single mother I don't have $1,000 to fork out to whoever wants it. State Farm should be put out of business.

We picked up the rental car, delivered our car to the repair facility and when it was repaired we checked it out, picked it up and signed the papers. We paid the deductible to the repair facility and it was done. I was exceptionally fortunate not to have been injured. This driver was also insured by State Farm. My husband came to the accident site and took pictures showing the skid marks as the other driver attempted to stop at the last moment and could not. I reported the accident and called the Highway Patrol, who declined to make a report. I immediately gave a report of what occurred to State Farm... Do NOT do that. When you are traumatized and upset by the accident; don't talk to State Farm. Consult an attorney and preferably hire an attorney. State Farm will take your words, twist them around and use them against you.

Be advised that no matter how clear the case, State Farm will endeavor to avoid assigning responsibility, if it requires them to pay out more for the claim. Also read your policy very carefully. In my case they would not pay the full bill for repairs if I took my car to the repair shop of my choice. And I was required to accept non-oem parts. I strongly advise anyone with State Farm Auto Insurance to work only through an attorney when dealing with this corporate entity.

I have been a State Farm auto and homeowners insurance policy holder for over 10 years. Having never been in an accident or getting a speeding ticket once in 10 years, I would assume and expect that my loyalty and my being a low risk policy holder would get me the best rates possible. Boy was I wrong. So recently I had a 2004 and a 2005 car on my insurance policy. The total value of these cars were no more than $3000. Yet I was paying $180 per month for insurance. I always thought this was high, but my trust in State Farm made me expect that I was getting the best rates.

Now when I say best rates, I know every company is different so maybe a $20-$30 difference per month is acceptable. Anyways, I paid this premium for over 2 years and didn't complain or even question State Farm. The issue that brought this to my attention and submitting this to Consumer Affairs, was when I purchased a 2010 Jeep and tried putting it on my policy. After talking to my local agent and going over all the details he came up with a price of around $150 per month for just this car. Again, I thought this was high, but this time I decided to check the market and see if I was getting a good price.

Very first place I tried, and have never been a policyholder and have no loyalty towards came up with a quote $80 less per month on just the one vehicle. For both vehicles it was over $120 cheaper per month. That is a whopping $1440 price difference in insurance. And this is for the SAME EXACT COVERAGE that State Farm was offering. APPLES TO APPLES. How could this be? Has State Farm been taking advantage of me for the past 10 years? This other company has the same exact information as does State Farm of where I live and all other factors that determine price of insurance. How could there be almost a 100% markup for a loyal and low risk customer? These are questions I want answered.

Who knows how many people have just "assumed" that being an excellent driver and a low risk policy holder that we are getting the best rates. They tell you that you are getting all these discounts for being a safe driver accident free but are they really? I'm sure there are many other current or past policy holders that have been affected by this price gouging tactic they use. I would love to see a private or Federal investigation uncover the truth behind all this.

I'm a blue collar worker barely making ends meet with a wife and two kids and need to save a penny anywhere I can. This whole time, I expected my Insurance company would be the last place that would try and pull some wool over my eye. I hope this wakes some people up that are current and past policyholders to question them and get other quotes to see exactly if they are doing you wrong like they did me. I would love to have someone look over my past payment history and rates and tell me just how much I was really overpaying.

In conclusion, I would hope that something becomes of this because the answers I have received from State Farm were not satisfactory. There are underwriters and other factoring that goes into developing rates, but why should the average everyday low risk driver be the one who bares burden to State Farms major rate increases and obviously high risk policy holders? Just because?

It is State Farms mistake for covering these high risk policy holders that are ruining it for everyone else. I put my trust into them and they took advantage. Is that the American way in today's standards? Maybe it's companies like this that are making the economy so volatile right now. Wake up State Farm and help. Don't put loyalty by the back burner and expect people to just accept this.

That was their call. I had a small fender bender which was my fault. But being that, I had that one at fault accident and used the towing. Their company have now labeled me as high risk. So Dec. 19, 2016 I paid the bill that State Farm sent me, they took my money and said my coverage was good to go. Just for me to go out of town and get pulled over and car towed. Towed why? No insurance, really State Farm that is how you are doing your customers. Your dates that you told me didn't add up. If you are calling your customer saying you are going to cancel them on Dec. 1, then why did your company email me for a bill pay as well as your Reps calling for a payment? To add to this you sent a letter out on Dec. 21, 2016 talking about you cancel me on Dec. 15, 2016. You just took my payment on Dec. 19, 2016. State Farm is starting to be a scam. I started my complaint already with the GA Insurance Comm., as well as the BBB. So basically they give you things they don't want you to use. My Wife was sitting in a fast food place when a little old lady backed into her vehicle. We did the whole exchange of info and police report making sure that she was ok. Fast forward 2 weeks our vehicle has now been deemed totaled. Bumper and back hatch damage. I thought a bit excessive, but who am I to question. It is 4 Days before Christmas and we have a decision to make, whether to surrender the vehicle or have it repaired out of a salvaged title with an unknown price. Speak to the collision place and all of a sudden the price is within the range of the settlement to take the salvaged title amount, in which I found a bit shady as when I dropped off the vehicle they had mentioned if the vehicle were to be totaled they may be able to work something out.

So instead we decided to surrender 2 days later after an emotional roller coaster as this van was a gift from my father and the attachment overwhelming. State Farm brings the check to us an afternoon a day before Christmas Eve. We are now in a scramble to find a vehicle as we only have another 5 days with the rental, with 2 of these days Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

We finally call State Farm day after Christmas (After 3 prior phone calls - 1 saying to us they would probably at least be able to extend the rental because of the holiday) as most of the check does not clear until the day after the rental is due back and the remainder won't clear until the 31st. This leaving us without money to buy a vehicle until the check clears nor a vehicle to do things during the holidays with 5 children. State Farm stated it was our banks fault for not clearing the check sooner. We then stated the check most likely hadn't cleared because we had no money due to the holidays and did not budget for this situation we were in, where they said accidents happen. I am truly blown away at the lack of empathy due to circumstances. Not sure what to do next. HELP.

In the end, all I received were apologies, but still end up paying for "storage fees" that I would not have incurred if State Farm only fulfilled their RESPONSIBILITY. Emergency Roadside Assistance? Not when it's not delivered... Re-frame: Roadside Assistance (where and where State Farm chooses to). Easy. 24 hotline. My agent is on top of everything. This is why I have stayed with State Farm for the past 30 years. Possibly it costs 10 - 20 per 6 mo more than a cheap policy with another provider but you cannot beat the service. I do check prices and I do find our auto insurance with State Farm as a family is the same price as other major carriers and sometimes cheaper. The ease of service is what keeps my business.

I called and made a claim with State Farm for storm damages to my 2000 ES 300 Lexus after the December 2016 rain storm. I was asked if I had a repair shop in mind and I stated yes, the Lexus collision center in Marietta, GA. I was told that an address for the Lexus Collision center could not be located so I was scheduled with one of the Gerber Collision centers. I arrived at Gerber and was greeted by a ** male who introduced himself as Brain. Brain immediately stated speaking to me in an very unprofessional and rude tone when he asked for my keys. I handed my keys to him as he proceeded to exit the waiting area heading outside. It was raining and he ordered me to go outside with him while he perform the inspection. I did follow him out, but realized that the rain was coming down a little heavy so I covered my head with my scarf.

I was thinking that Brain would move my vehicle into a more covered area but, he did not he proceeded with his idea of an inspection. I began to feel wet and cold in the rain so, I told Brain I was going to sit in the waiting room. Brain yelled, "Well where are the damages?" I asked Brain did receive any of the claim information and he responded, "Yeah it's right here in my hand." Feeling uncomfortable by his behavior I turned and walked back into the building to the waiting area.

Maybe 15 minutes later Brain walked back into the building and walked right up on me talking in a very loud manner and aggressive tone stating, "That's not hail damage. That's vandalism! Looks like someone to a hammer to that vehicle." I was shocked and frighten by his conduct. I stated to Brain that my vehicle was not vandalized and the damages to my vehicle occurred during the rain storm.

Brain's voice got louder and then stated, "Georgia doesn't get hail storms and I will not write this estimate as storm damages. What is it that you want a check?" I was terrified and paralyze I could not breathe nor move I called the police. The policeman stated there was no crime or verbal threat/ assault so he could not be arrested, but a police report was done and I learned that Brain was not the guy name it was Craig.

I contacted State Farm and have not received any professional assistance. They did not address the bad service I received nor offered any apology. State Farm have failed to communicate pertinent information to me concerning my claim such as photos and any documents, to conduct a reasonable investigation of my claim, and have offered me substantially less money to settle my claim than the true value of my claim. I did go to Nalley Lexus and receive an estimate that State Farm is refusing to consider. If I could give State Farm no stars I would. Beware consumers. State Farm is a rip off and dishonest business that should be put out of business forever.

I called roadside assistance at 4:00. The mechanism in my door must be broken because when the door closed it locked and I never locked in and the keys were in the ignition it was 45 outside and temperatures were dropping. A stranger who works for State Farm used her phone to call for me because I didn't have my phone. They told me to wait by my car. They would have someone there in 40 mins. So I did. An hour passed. I called the number back. They said someone was 10 min away. 30 min later I called using someone else's phone. They said they came by but no one was there.

They had actually gone to the gas station next not to the address I had given them to the Kroger gas station. They said that they would have to turn around and come back. We called 3 more times and were transferred and hung up on 4 hours later and it was now 39 outside. I am sick with only a sweater on when a cop called another service. Now I am very sick and need to go to the hospital.

I had found a car but before finalizing the deal I wanted to know how much my insurance would cost with my son as the driver. Take into consideration that I am well aware that adding a teenager to auto insurance is expensive.

I call the after hour agent to get the quote, the gentlemen was very polite. I gave him all the information that he requested including my sons name, date of birth, and drivers license number. After working through the numbers, he came back with a reasonable quote that I approved of. Because I had not finalized if I was going to purchase the car, I did not finalize the quote over the phone but he put the information in the system if I called back.

I decided to purchase the car and my agent called me the following Monday to ask about calling in over the weekend. He found the information that the agent had entered. To my disappointment I was told that the gentleman quoted the wrong amount (on a "recorded line"). The amount was going to be more than twice the amount. Now, thanks to State Farm Insurance I am paying more for insurance than I am a car payment. It's not my fault your agent quoted the wrong price... A loyal customer for 14 years.

I rear ended by a State Farm insured two weeks before thanksgiving. I called State Farm promptly after the accident to set up a claim and so that get the damage repaired to my vehicle. I was told to make an appointment with one of their preferred collision centers. I chose Caliber Collision because my husband previously used them because was in accident a few weeks before mine and he received excellent customer service from Caliber Collision but in a different location. The location I chose did not reciprocate quite the same experience. It took forever for State Farm to receive my estimate; the claims department received the market value of the car before the estimate.

After two weeks, I had to go the Caliber Collision and make the rep Michael resend to State Farm while I was in front of him. I waited a few minutes and then proceed to call State Farm to check if the claim department received the document pertaining to the estimate, they informed me that it was received and due to GA law my car would be a total loss because price to fix it was over the market value price. I explained to the rep Jessica that the estimate was including parts of the car that was not damaged in the accident. She was rude and starting to saying even if she took stuff off the estimate it would be a loss in order to insist that I drop the claim or take money not worth the price of my car and be without transportation.

State Farm just wants to total my car out and give me next to nothing to get another. During that process I would be without a car. I came into this accident with a perfectly working car that had some cosmetic flaws and now being left a solution that will not benefit at all. If I were to try and drive my car right now, there would be no problem because it is in perfect working condition minus the cosmetic dents and scratches that State Farm wants to use in order to consider my car a total loss.

Let me start off by saying we have had State Farm insurance for 30+ years and have paid premiums for this insurance for all that time. My daughter was in a car accident on 4/13/2015. She hydroplaned and slid down an embankment to land sideways against a tree. The fire department had to cut our little girl out of the vehicle and rush her to the hospital. After surgery and physical therapy, we expected State Farm to pay their medical portion and our health insurance was supposed to cover the rest. 6,000 was left after our personal insurance covered the bulk of the bill.

It is now Late November of 2016 and we are still fighting the insurance company to pay this bill. We have been told the hospital did not send in the right form. We faxed it twice when the first time they said they did not receive it. I finally thought (in August 2016) they had completed the paperwork and were going to be paid, until our daughter said it is now delinquent and on her credit report as not paid. I am so tired of begging a company to honor their agreement when I have been paying higher premiums for this accident. I am afraid it will affect her ability to obtain student loans or have good credit. I am at the point of seeking an attorney. I hope this deters people from putting their trust in this company.

When I took my car to have it estimated, I tried to tell the person that did the estimate on the car that the damage to the trunk was because of the accident. I told the person that my car was hit in the rear from an angle because he was changing lanes. The trunk used to open with the key fob, since the accident it doesn't open without grabbing the trunk or tapping the trunk to get it to open. The key fob is the only thing we use to open the trunk since we bought it. The only damage that was on the trunk was the rusted scratch on the top surface, it was there when I bought the car, it was from something that broke the back window before we owned the car.

The person hit my car in the rear from an angle because he was changing lanes when I stopped because of a Hollywood Police officer stopping traffic to allow a person that he had stopped to give a ticket. Your company is denying the trunk to be fixed/straighten and painted and fixed so that it will open again correctly, with the key fob button or the key. All I want is to have my car fixed correctly. I'm not expecting a new car. I just want it fixed correctly, but for some reason they say that by viewing the pictures that it wasn't caused by the accident. I mean the vehicle that rear ended me was considered totaled. I don't understand how they don't figure this was caused by this accident.

My 2003 Ford Taurus SES should be fixed correctly. My car is in the Body Shop, and they even sent paperwork in stating that this was caused by the accident. Thank you. I myself have a company and like being paid. Evidently State Farm Insurance does not like being paid but, on the other hand they like sending out, month after month, cancellation notices because they do not know how to follow directions on where to pull the money from. I have heard from other State Farm Insurance customers about them having the same stupid issue. The exact issue is our payment, for around a year, had been coming out of our account through our debit card account.

One day we got a cancellation notice for the past month not being paid. It showed on our account that it had been paid because our card showed the date was expired on our card, which they said it showed that because it was on auto withdraw so we just needed to submit our new card's expiration date and number. We gave them the new information, however the debit card number stayed the same cause it was from the (duh) same account, only difference was it had a new expiration date. We paid the payment during that phone call and the policy never canceled. The next month guess what... The same thing happened!

We received a cancellation notice and guess why. This is where the incompetence part comes in. Because they used the old card's expiration number. So we again called and got it straightened out (or so we thought) and again paid the payment during that phone call. They assured that this would not happen again. Then we talked with other State Farm Customers and they told us that we should not have that problem if we called and submitted our bank account and routing number. They also stated that the same thing happened with them and they were very frustrated with the occurrence.

When we contacted State Farm Insurance about what we found out, they told us we would have to fill out a form stating all the needed information and submit it to our agent. This was done in a timely fashion before our next payment was due so they would have the information in time. Then on November 10, 2016 they sent out another cancellation notice. Mind you our payments are due on the 3-4th of every month. I called 1-800-728-8338 and they even had the information that was submitted on paper to get it to be taken out of our account through our banking and routing number. The number they transferred me to had the same information too. After it was all said and done they took my payment and again was told that this was not going to happen again. We will see.

If it does then I'm done with them being my good neighbor. I will take my House, 2017 Pacifica, 2005 Ram, 2004 Miata, and 2 boats to another company. Also this year we are planning on getting a 2017 Ram and purchasing another house and making one a rental, we are also thinking about opening up a business. All of this will need to be insured and they will lose all that business from us and others that think like we do and we will sure tell them and refer them to another company. So if there are other insurance companies that read these reviews then look on here again around the 10th of December because I will put out contact information for one to contact me and get my business, because obviously this company does not want it. Thank You.

Very pleased with Team Manager Kathryn **. Due to several hours difference in time zones (Eastern versus Hawaii) had difficulty connecting. Once made voice to voice contact she was very responsible and very fair. The claim representative assigned to work on comparable vehicles and the offer made subsequently was very fair. Agent's office - great.

I have a total theft claims and have been trying to receive a call back from a Team Manager for the total loss team in Winterhaven Florida. I missed the last call from the team manager on Monday 11/7 as I was driving in Chicago traffic at the time she called. I have left several phone messages and still no call back. The theft loss was 9/21 and the initial contact from State Farm claims was not timely. The 30-day waiting period in the case of a total theft for contact from the total loss unit was also not timely. An offer was made on 10/31/2016 and it was not based on comparable vehicles. The stolen Utility Vehicle had 20 hours on it and the offer made was approximately $1,400 less than the purchase price. The vehicle has been garaged since purchase and was in excellent shape (the offer was based on average shape).

I am displeased with State Farm claims in this case. The current phone system makes it impossible to ask for another Team Manager to help in the case where Kathryn ** is not calling me back. I am a long-time (39-year) policyholder and have never had difficulties such as this before. The agent is not the problem--they have been very responsive.

I was the victim of a car accident caused by a woman who was insured by State Farm Insurance. She was texting on her cellular and damn near killed me (totaled my car). As I worked through the process of State Farm covering my rental car needs -- they specifically sent me to their "preferred" rental car agency (Hertz). I was assured that everything was taken care of and all that I needed to do was show up, provide my Driver's license and a credit card for any incidentals and/or damages. I was NOT told to bring my insurance (who by the way and ironically is also State Farm Insurance). Instead I was simply instructed by Hertz (and State Farm) to sign Hertz' paperwork and take the car.

When I turned the car back in -- I was charged $336 for Hertz' insurance on the rental. WTF? State Farm specifically sent me to their "preferred" Hertz, under the good faith understanding that I was 100% covered... Hertz deceived me and stole $336... and State Farm went along with it. Collusion and Corruption at its best. I have been loyal customer of State Farm's for 30 years now. However due to this greed and deception -- I am in the process of canceling all of my policies with State Farm Insurance. Remember the catchy tune, "Like a good neighbor -- State Farm is there." Hardly. The tune should be changed to... "Like a Greedy Corporation -- State Farm WASN'T there."

My most recent experience with State Farm policy left me very bitter. State Farm was our insurance company for home and auto mobile coverage for over the past two decades. My husband and I have separate auto mobile insurance policies. Recently, one of my husband's old vehicles covered under his own individual State Farm policy started to break down required towing more than a few times. I was not aware of this towing issue as I never drove the car. Well I received a letter of notice in the mail from State Farm stating my policy would not be renewed. I was shocked and was sure it was a mistake as I've had one claim with State Farm which was the other driver's fault.

After speaking to my agent I learned that all people living in the same house suffer the same consequences for the actions of any drivers in the house regarding insurance coverage. Put it this way I was held responsible and liable for what I believe state farm considered excessive towing regardless of my driving record. State Farm discounted my driving record and now I will have pay higher insurance rates.

Additionally, the towing of a out of commission car should not be a risk comparable to a claim against State Farm involving a moving vehicle. I'm thoroughly disappointed with State Farm and the method of informing me of their decision for nonrenewal using a form letter, when after 25 years of loyalty to State Farm I was not told this information via courtesy of a phone call. My advice to others looking for insurance, ask hard questions when searching for insurance and be aware of terms such as the one I described before choosing your insurance provider. So much for individual driver's record! Unfair!!!

I have been a State Farm Customer for 25 years with no claims. I was rear-ended by a young distracted driver who slammed into my vehicle in a sideways slide and put me in the hospital. This young driver had minimal insurance. His insurance company paid for my vehicle repairs and car rental and as much of my medical as his policy limits allowed. Unfortunately my medical bills exceeded what his insurance could pay so I then tried to file a claim with my own company, State Farm, since I carried under-insured motorist coverage. State Farm would not even respond to this claim. Finally I had my attorney file suit against State Farm to get them to respond. My medical bills were close to $27k. State Farm offered to pay $2k. When I refused to accept that they began all kinds of depositions.

In those depositions I was grilled like I was some type of criminal. Accused of many things and told they would bring up a lot of previous medical conditions at trial all of which had absolutely nothing to do with my injuries from the collision. This was the most absurd and degrading thing I had been through in my entire life. And this was my own insurance company, the Good Neighbor From Hell. I finally settled with State Farm for far less than my medical bills and lost wages in order to avoid the huge stress of going through a trial. I have since found a new insurance company, canceled my 25-year State Farm policy, and will never ever recommend State Farm to anybody again.

On June 1st a drunk driver insured by State Farm (Tennessee), after being refused service at a liquor store because he was drunk, drove across 4 lanes of traffic and crashed through the store where I worked. He injured myself and a customer. For 6 months I endured physical therapy and pain. I even attempted to make my life normal by trying to return to work.

State Farm maintained their stance on maximum personal injury payout without considering the fact that future medical problems will be forthcoming (due to the impact being behind me) nor taking into consideration the trauma this caused. You see these videos on tv of vehicles crashing through buildings, however nothing compares to actually experiencing it first hand. The driver was so drunk, when he got out the car, he couldn't believe it either. He looked around and said "I messed up". Shame on you State Farm. I'm sure your policyholder is happy. My mom and my daughter were going to visit relatives and she was rear-ended in my new Jeep and slammed into the vehicle in front of her. We purchased this Jeep March 17, 2016 from a dealer and it was in perfect condition. Now after I proved that I updated my info and that they were entirely incorrect, State Farm is claiming that there was previous frame damage before we bought it. Another appraiser was supposed to be here a week ago today. I have left countless messages with Patrice ** with not one return phone call.

I now have a bungee cord holding down my front hood so it doesn't fly into the windshield. It’s only a matter of time before a disaster happens. The Jeep is all over the road and I have to hold on with a death grip to avoid going out of control. I have no other means of transportation so I have no choice but to use my Jeep. State Farm has broken promise after promise. Defamed us with their accusations. I have no means of contacting State Farm because every other person I call says that I have to speak to Patrice **. I was told I would get a call back within an hour however that never happen. The next day at 5:00 pm I got a call back informing the claim denied because they could not find anyone with the policy number. So I call her agent and pretend I was interested in getting a policy so I ask the agent if they know this person is and I was told yes so I break the news to them. I was calling because I was struck by her and the claims department could not find the policy number for this person. I was placed on hold and after the agent return I was told the policy number I had is just temporary number and was given a different number.

I call back the claims office and give them the updated information. I was told again they will call be back. They had to speak with the client. I said ok and they did and they are going to take full responsibility. And was given list of shops so I ask to please email the list and was told sure but that never happen. After a week I took it to Caliber Collision for estimate. I was ask if I had some kind of number. I told them no I though since I have the title to the car they would pay me and then I would pay the shop but because it is one of their choice shop they refuse to accept the estimate for the repair.

After spending 20 minutes with one of their agents I ask to speak with a manager. I was put on hold again. When the Manager got on the phone I ask why they would accept the estimate and was told it is because that is what get because that is what you get when you come off the street and I have to have to be seen by one of their adjuster. I was furious because this is one of the approved shops. I then threaten to sue. I was then told if the shop would let State Farm Adjuster look at my estimate and would work with his adjustment I told them that was between them. So I thought about what was going on. So I decided to have State Farm adjuster take a look at it and have an independent shop take a look at my car.

I got an appointment with my chiropractor to have him do x-rays. Sure enough my collar bone was twisted and out of alignment, spine and skull out of alignment and he had trouble keeping hips in place. I took my truck to highly recommended auto repair shop, got estimate of 1550. State Farm then dictates to me that I have to take it to one of their preferred auto body shops and have their inspector look at it. Well he does his estate and proceeds to say that some of the damage was done in a previous wreck. I told him no, the truck has not been wrecked. Then he gives me the estimate and says that he going to go to his big screen to make sure he hadn't missed anything. This was lie number 2.

He comes back and tries to give me a check!! I said "no I'm not accepting that check or this estimate. It is crock of crap." And I left. I figured I would get a phone call from State Farm but I didn't. But a few days later I get something in the mail from State Farm. It was the estimate and a check. Now if I didn't accept the check the first time what made them think I would take it the second time. All State Farm thinks about is settling the property damage case and keep their claims low dollar wise in order to keep their bonuses high. It does Matter to them that their inspector lied on the estimate but he is now saying he has to put it on the rack. I said no he doesn't. The other could plainly see all the damage was done by this one accident.

I have been in contact with the local news media to try and get them to investigate State Farm. I am also filing complaints with the BBB and the attorney generals office. I haven't done anything with the check. I get furious every time I think about this BS. Does the victim no longer have any rights when they are involved in a wreck especially when it's not their fault? I have the right to take it wherever I want to and also have the right to have new parts put on instead of "recycled parts". I would not have or recommend State Farm to my worst enemy!!!

State Farm is the WORLD'S largest insurance company. One thing consumers do not think about is how State Farm insures the rich and the famous, movie companies, production companies. They drive cars, have businesses, so they need insurance also! That said, I had a business policy with State Farm Insurance and like most on this page, I was a State Farm customer for 20+ years. I sued a celebrity for a minimal amount, a counter suit was filed and I depended on State Farm to provide me with defense.

The claim was originally in small claims court. The State Farm appointed attorney tried to convince me to move the case from small claims to civil court, with no benefit to me. But a huge benefit to the countersuit as the damages would increase from 10K to (Are you ready) 4 Million Dollars! If I were stupid, but no I'm not. SO I kept the case in small claims court. (The State Farm attorney by the way, told me that they were not taking me seriously.) Too bad!

That said, State Farm stole my information related to my initial claim, (because State Farm was not defending me on my initial claim, State Farm was defending me on the counterclaim). The State Farm appointed attorney took information from me on my initial claim and gave it to the defendant's attorney, (The person I was suing). State Farm did nothing to help me on the counterclaim and instead, just wrote a check to them. Paid them. No problem, no proof, it was fraud. Did not matter.

How hard is it for you to get your car fixed, a rental, a tow? Yeah! State Farm stopped communicating with me. I was NOT Included in the settlement negotiations. I had no say over my own policy. The Director of Claims told me he was NOT going to defend me and I fired the State Farm appointed attorney. The State Farm appointed attorney simply stopped gathering information from me and continued to work on the case with them. Yes. So why am I telling you this. This insurance giant, State Farm does not give a damn about you, your years of paying for a policy, which after you keep an insurance policy for more than 1 year, your premium becomes PURE PROFIT for any insurance company.

WHY is it this way...Because we as consumers and customers let companies like State Farm get away with treating you like the unimportant person that you are! We let companies get away with treating your neighbor like crap, your son like crap, your wife, mom, sister, brother, friend and then you...yes you get treated like crap! What can I do. Heck let's be honest, no one can beat State Farm's rates, no one! I added my home to my auto insurance policy and I pay $62.00 a month for auto insurance, down from $119 per month, for two cars! Who can beat that! WHO? Yeah, I kept State Farm for my car and home. I dropped them for my business. I use to work in the insurance industry and I know that no one, no one, can beat State Farm's rates if you meet the qualifications for their preferred company.

I've learned a thing or two about insurance companies over the last 20 years. You have to know your rights, if you can get an attorney or seek help through your state OAG (Office of Attorney General), do so. To be honest, at the end of the day, it's about the money I save. I've learned to accept racist and sexist behavior and being treated like I'm less than from State Farm Insurance. State Farm tells you on the phone how much they appreciate your business, but...when you need them, you see how low on the pole you really are! After all, they are the world's largest insurance company...and who the hell are we! To State Farm...we are NOBODY!

I realize that when I call for roadside assistance that at that time the information is put into the computer and the computer has some sort of program that decides on which tow company to choose to put out and dispatch on the call. However every time that I have called roadside assistance they have dispatched the wrong tow company for the area of where I need to tow. So after waiting a half an hour and then to get a new text message stating that a new tow company or whatever will be arriving at a new ETA making the total wait jump from the initial 1 hour to two hours. Is just so frustrating and throws my whole day off making me later for appointments or work or whatever I was going to be late for due to the emergency roadside issue. It's not only once in a while. It's EVERY TIME!!

I hate to get frustrated with the operator when I have to call back because the first tow truck didn't show up. And then be told that they will just send another one. Why can't they send the dispatch to the right tow truck company in the first place. I can't be the ONLY one this happens to. And yeah never get the same person who assisted you in the beginning. So having to explain that you have been waiting an hour for the tow and that you called back before to let them know that they had dispatched to a company that doesn't service the area. Only to find out that the last person you talked to didn't even do anything or note the call that you were still waiting and needing a different tow- truck. Well it's horrible and shouldn't be an added stress to have to not really have help on the way right away the first time you asked for it. Turning half the day into trying to get a tow truck to show up through roadside assistance.

But usually all the operators that I speak to when calling act very pleasant and reassuring that things will be taken care of. Sadly she the call ends and yet you know you'll have to call back 3-4 times in effort to actually get the assistance you requested. Makes it more of a headache than a convenience to pay for road side assistance instead of just calling a tow truck yourself.

My car stayed at the side of the street for one month before it could be removed. The car stayed in the shop for two months before I could get it back. After getting the car back the stereo will not stay on. It continuously shut off. I took the car back to the shop and after a diagnosis was done it was found that the amplifier was defective because it was installed to the back of the car and because of the impact the device became defective.

I call State Farm and told them about the car. I was told that a State Farm adjuster had to go and take a look at the car. The adjuster did go to the shop and looked at the car and he deemed that State Farm will be responsible because there was no physical damages done. That was such a DUMB remark because common sense alone will tell you that if a car got rear-ended of course there will be damages done to anything was installed at back of vehicle. I am also had a shaking of my steering wheel when I drive in excess of 40 miles per hour. They denied that stating that my tires were different size.

Before my car was rear ended, I played my stereo continuously and nothing was wrong with it. I also drove in excess of 40 miles and had no shaking of my steering wheel. I ever expected to be treated like this after more than twenty-five years of coverage, but I guess the only time you will know is when something happens, and the hurtful part is the accident was not my fault.

I understand auto insurers have the right to cancel policy within the "binder" period for any reason. But if a company is going to require a social security numbers and driver's license numbers to run background and driving record checks, they should not "miss" past claims on your driving record. My wife had one at fault minor accident (~$3,000 total claim). Farm Bureau and Travelers both had the claim show up on their quote sheets. State Farm was not even the cheapest quote. The agent quoting for State Farm was in my town and Travelers was about 30 miles. I would highly recommend using a different insurer if you are able. State Farm has also cancelled auto insurance on my parents in the past. I should have listened to their advice.

I sincerely hope that my review will stop someone from purchasing insurance from State Farm. I am currently appealing their cancellation, but after the 6-month term is completed I plan shop providers again. I would love to switch now, but having recently moved to a new state I have had significant funds tied up between previous state and new state and would prefer to now offer State Farm my 6-month premium as an interest free loan.

Like a good neighbor – State Farm IS NOT there. August 19th/20th. Parked between the Aloft Hotel/The Flats at West Broad Village office in open parking lot. Upon returning to vehicle a little after midnight, our Mustang had been hit and the perpetrator had left the scene. The Mustang was hit so hard, the bumper was over to the passenger side ground and the driver side headlight was knocked to the driver side ground. Car was moved in parking space by the violent impact. White light colored paint was on the vehicle. The frame was possibly damaged due to the fact the car dropped when the driver side door was opened. There was substantial damage to the front of the car as well as the driver side front.

The police were called and I obtained a police report. I called State Farm to report the accident. I was informed on the phone by State Farm that a tow truck would call me within 5-10 minutes. Twenty minutes later I called back only to find the tow truck company had no record from State Farm. I had to call State Farm yet again. I was informed we did not need to be present when the tow truck arrived. We were called at 2:30 am to meet the tow truck driver. He needed the key and we had to sign paperwork. At 3:00 am we met the tow truck driver, signed his paperwork, provided key and gave instructions for the car to be dropped at Bruce’s Body Shop in Richmond, VA. Bruce’s Body Shop was not open on the weekend so the tow truck company kept the car on their lot for the weekend.

I called the Aloft Hotel on Saturday, August 20th to see if there were video cameras on the lot. The manager informed me the Flats at West Broad Village office had some cameras. I personally went to speak with them. There were some video cameras but I could not view them and the personnel at Broad West Village could not view them. Only the police officer that filed the report could view the footage. The contact at The Flats at West Broad Village was Christian ** (Leasing Consultant) and I obtained his business card. I called and left a message for the officer. He called me back and stated “he wasn’t sure about that”. I informed him he was the only one that could view the footage.

Meanwhile on Monday morning, August 22nd, I called the tow truck company to ensure the car had been delivered to Bruce’s Body Shop. The tow truck company needed the order from State Farm. Yet another call had to be placed – and please note our local agent office, John **, was no help. When I called his office on several occasions, the receptionist informed me this was not his job. I’m not sure why I have this local agent who does nothing to assist customers (Please note I have been a customer since 1975). The State Farm office at 800 number took the necessary information to release the car to Bruce’s Body Shop and then said we’ll have the car taken to Bruce’s Body Shop in Williamsburg. I again had to correct the location – Richmond, not Williamsburg.

A day later, I received an e-mail that our estimate was done and we could view it online. No one ever reached out to us – I always had to call. We had to set up an online account that evening to view the quote. I did reach out to my cousin, who is a Chesterfield County Detective. I inquired about procedures in checking video cameras. Mysteriously, the officer who filed our accident report called me back. He was pleasant when saying he reached out to the employee at The Flats at West Broad Village office. Unfortunately, there were no cameras in that area of the parking lot.

On Friday, August 26, a week after the accident, we had to call to find out if they were fixing the vehicle. No one had done anything with the claim. After being put on hold numerous times and having State Farm claim “it’s only been a week”, we were informed the car was totaled. They wanted to claim the car immediately and send us an envelope to mail the title, etc. and then they would send us a check. We replied that was unacceptable. They could send the package to our agent’s office and we would do a trade. We were told the package would be there Tuesday or Wednesday (August 30 or 31st). That evening I had a message on my home answering machine that they were trying to get Bruce’s Body Shop to release the car that day but Bruce’s Body Shop was requiring our verbal agreement.

On Monday, August 29th, we obtained our rental car. On this same day, we went to Bruce’s Body Shop and cleaned out our belongings out of the Mustang. We left verbal approval with Bruce’s employees that the car was ready for pick-up. We never heard anything from our agent’s office. On September 1st, we had to call State Farm again. After speaking with someone other than the receptionist at the agent’s office, we were transferred to the claims department. The person that answered said the package was returned for some unknown reason and it was sitting there. Again no one had told us anything.

We wanted the rental car we picked up on Monday to be extended since we still don’t have the check. She informed me they could not do that – the rental was only for 7 days. I told her it was State Farm’s fault we had not received the necessary package. She then stated it wasn’t her fault. She was quoting dates that did not even line up on the calendar for the rental car. I called the local agent’s office back and again was told this wasn’t his job. I was able to reach Jill in the local agent’s office after some time. I explained our entire situation to her. She said they were there to help me and she was sorry with the trouble we experienced. She informed me she would have “Chris” from the office call me the next day. I wanted them to check on extending the rental car and also to find out what date the package would be expected to arrive at their office. I am still waiting... Chris never called on Friday.

Today is Tuesday, September 6th and yet another person at John **’s office is looking into this case. I was advised on September 6th that the package arrived in the local agent’s office. Again no one called – I called their office. They cannot even tell me when it was delivered. Jill informed me she was sorry. Chris was out Friday and she didn’t know when she told me he would help me out. Wouldn’t you double check with someone before delegating a task to them?

My car was totaled, and I was forced basically to buy another car. I knew I would have the car payments, but I did not expect the premium for my new car to skyrocket so much. I was not told about this. What a surprise when I went online to pay my monthly bill! I was only asked for the make, model, and year of the new car. It just is not fair that I have to pay such a big difference now for my premium when I was not at fault in the car accident. There should exist something where the premium does not increase drastically and leave me in such great debt. The car payments are enough stress to handle right now along with slapping on the car insurance payments that are out of my league.

I've been waiting almost a week for my agent to call me. So far, nothing. What exactly is their purpose? In the meantime, I've had to arrange with State Farm claims (out of state) my own inspection, etc. That was all done with no agent intervention. Still no check and now the car's ready. Nothing heard from SF. Tried to "elevate" my situation to someone in authority. Called numerous "managers", all the way up to corporate HQ in Illinois. None of these people seemed to care that after 30 years with this company, I was considering pulling out because of all the hassle and going with USAA. Don't our premiums pay their salaries and expenses? One would think they would want to retain clients. Doesn't appear to be the policy at State Farm. No one cared how long I was a member. Totally irrelevant. Doesn't fit into their canned corporate answers.

Called today - system's been down all day. First three calls they couldn't help. System finally up on call 4 - but am told check was mailed to me? I told them "I would have preferred direct deposit to the body shop if asked, but no one called me or asked." Now they are stopping payment on the check, calling the body shop and paying them direct? Why is this so damned complicated? Communications meltdown, totally, on the part of State Farm. My trust in you is diminished to the point I don't want to continue doing business with you people any further.

August 19th 2016, I physically signed a 6 month contract with State Farm with the agreement that my monthly payments would be just under $370.00 a month. On September 5th 2016 I received a call from State Farm stating that my DMV report came back with a not so favorable violation. I had stated to the agent that violation will be 5 years old come December 2016. I was then told that Michigan state law requires them to go back up to 5 years. They proceeded to tell me that my next payment would be around $770.00 a month and that they would postpone my automatic payment from my bank account until I inform them of what I would do with my policy.

On Friday Sept 9th 2016 I called and canceled my policy as I found another company for $300 less a month. I then asked when should I be expecting my refund for the 10 remaining days that I have already paid for. I was told that they do not have that answer because of Michigan state laws. On Tuesday Sept 26 2016, I called because I have yet to receive my refund. I was told that I would not be receiving a refund because I signed a 6 month contract and that my monthly payments went up and the unpaid portion for the first month was factored into the remaining 5 months and therefore my refund that I would have received was actually owed to them. I understand the concept. However I signed a 6 month contract with State Farm that stated my monthly payments would be 370. NOT 777. Therefore they changed my contract which both parties of that contract did not agree to the terms and the contract is now annulled.

State Farm agent says that they are not allowed to look at my DMV because they are not a licensed insurance agent and that the agreement that I had signed and the $370 that I paid was only a quote. So with that being said for anyone who's searching for insurance be aware that State Farm does not initially review your driving record and will sign a contract with you under false or inaccurate information about your driving record. They will call you two weeks later to inform you of your DMV report. If I was made aware that they go back 5 years I would have made sure they were aware of my record. I assumed they went back 3 years as majority of insurance companies do. I was also told today that they would actually go back up to 6 years because Michigan law allows that.

The supervisor claimed we had no coverage at all, which if true is insurance fraud and illegal.

On Aug 31 I let my local office know I had found cheaper insurance, and to stop my automatic draft, because my 199 renewal was due and I found auto insurance for a better price of 68 dollars with more to offer than State Farm had. Well on Sept 2 my card showed they had still drafted my account anyways, so I immediately called the 800 number and spoke to a representative that told me I should get my complete refund since I had told them to cancel everything, but they didn't. And that since it was a holiday weekend, that the local office would call me the next business day.

Well Sept 6 I called and the lady stated that it was in the process of refunding and would take a few days, so I gave it some more time. On September 12 I called and the lady Alisha told me that she would request a refund again to see if it would speed things up. So here it is September 22 and I call back up there to see what's taking so long, and the man was all confused, said he had to do some research to see who all I have talked to 'cause there were no notes in my file for any of the times I have called, and I have my own notes of every single time I called.

He then calls me back and says "ma'am, we sent everything out about the cancellation and the lady you talked to was Tamika, and she said she called and left you a voicemail stating that the refund was denied." So I replied "oh really now, 'cause I don't have a voicemail set up, and I never received a call back from anyone from this office except for you today", so I told him I was calling the 800 number to get some more insight on this and see what going on. So when I call the 800 number and spoke to this man, he told me the local offices deal with the refunds and he was going to get them on the phone and see what is going on. Well after being on hold for about 10 mins he comes back and tells me, "well the office is looking into it some more and will call you back later this afternoon."

I am very disappointed, I have 2 children and work my butt off and they take the money even after me telling them to cancel it so it doesn't come out. Now they can't seem to replace my funds, it sucks. I really needed it to, but hey I guess whoever needed it more than I? But I will never recommend State Farm to anyone else. I had never had a problem with them, until now, and it sucks that they automatically took it out but can't put it back since I already had coverage with another insurance company, and called them and let them not to take it out, and the lady never once wrote down any of the times I called.

Last November, State Farm called me and offered me a very nice deal on my car insurance. Uninsured motorist AND towing for $15.00 less that my current plan had. In January, my car's starter died and I called inquiring about the process of obtaining a tow since I have NEVER had towing before. I told them I would like to call a friend first and was given a reference number in case I needed to call back. My friend did come get me with his Rollback truck so I did not need the towing service which was a good thing because it was 4 hours later when the towing service called me to see if I still needed a tow and I would have been sitting there the whole time.

Then came a fender bender (meaning that someone's fender hit me in my door) that I still don't believe was my fault but I didn't want the stress of doing the court thing so I paid the $125.00 ticket thinking it shouldn't raise my rate too much. This was the first accident I've ever been in -- IN MY LIFE -- that I may have been at fault. Then the car broke down again and I did have the car towed to the garage.

Someone finally rear ended me hard and the car was totaled (not my fault). When I got my replacement car and tried to insure it I was told they would not insure it. That I was being canceled as of November and have to find different coverage. When I called the local agent she didn't know why. Called the main office and they didn't know why. No one can tell me why I was cancelled. A week before, I called for the insurance on my different vehicle. They had called me and offered me renter's insurance at a discount because of my auto Insurance. No one said anything about me being cancelled. So State Farm is great as long as you don't screw up and need to use them for anything.

I thought State Farm had a great feature which is roadside assistance. Roadside agent told towing service will be there within 90 minutes. Guess what. Towing guy called me saying that NYPD called him to go somewhere so He will be late. But he didn't give me estimated time. So I called Roadside agent again to let him know that I would not get a service in time. She told me that she contacted the company towing guy will be on time which it wasn't. Agent should have contacted other company instead me waiting for 2 hours.

He came with truck that has already loaded with other car at 2:30am. He told he needed to drop off the car that already loaded and he will comeback to me within 30 minutes. He came back at 3am and he brought the wrong towing truck. He was not able to tow my car. He started to curse himself and he left. I called agent again let him know what happened. I was upset and he did not calm me down. He sounded like he really didn’t want to work with me. Same guy came and towed my car at 4am. I got home at 5am. I had to wake up at 7am to go to work. I was exhausted.

Next day, Monday morning, I called the local agent. Someone picked up the phone. She was very rude. I told her I want to follow up with last night incident. She rudely said, “So do you want to have policy number?” She made me more upset. She transferred to someone that I am pretty sure it was road assistance department but it got disconnected. I called local agency again that I was able to talk to Karen. I spoke to her. She is the first person that which was helpful. I told her how frustrated I was. She was able to calm me down.

Tuesday morning, my car was supposed to be delivered to Auto Service Center where I wanted which I spoke to Roadside assistance. Guest what, my car was towed to somewhere I didn’t know. I called local agency to let them know this is unacceptable. Local agency keep pointing finger at Towing company messed up. I don’t like people to point finger to someone I don’t know. I am not happy. I am your customer. Lastly, I spoke to the manager. I told her I will express all my frustration to everywhere. A manager told me don't do anything because I will get more upset. She doesn't know how to handle upset customer. Don't do anything? Really?

In conclusion, I had been miserable for 3 days. You know what. I have decided to change insurance company. Surprised? I will share my story everywhere using facebook, blogger, even with other insurance company. Are you surprised? I have a good friend of mine. Her car insurance was State Farm too. She got into an car accident and your staffs telling her to call this person that person. She was transferred around but she never got helped. I hope this message can pass to senior management so that they know how their staff provide poor customer service. I left message in their facebook. They read my message But no replies. Unless you are clairvoyant in the ways of water, avoid State Farm. Apparently, if you have a leak in your house that goes undetected for any amount of time, you are not covered. Even if the offending leak originates in a wall, behind a sink and you have no clue what's happening because you lost your x-ray vision eyes on vacation. Even if you react the moment symptoms appear (in the form of a lot of water that wasn't just there...) and let your fingers do the panic attack thing dialing for a plumber, unfortunately, sadly, and most unexpectedly, State Farm refused to cover any of the water damage to our house. The water that came out of that pipe behind the sink had its way with our tile, lower cabinets, the dining room carpet and part of a wall. It was fast and ugly.

State Farm does NOT want to be confused by the facts. They chose to ignore statements from a master plumber and a water restoration expert who said this was an immediate incident. They found it especially inconvenient when we supplied a statement made by a third party who was told by our insurance agent that the adjuster based his findings on what he saw under my house, when we told them that three people will attest to the fact that the adjuster never went near the crawl space. Oops. Now I know how Al Gore feels...

After paying premiums (since 1984, hmmm....) to what we thought was an honest company that "had our back," State Farm refuses to believe what we are telling them, to look at the facts, refuses to send another adjuster, has ignored all of the evidence we have put in front of them and has left us on our own to rebuild an entire kitchen. The. Whole. Thing. The favorite State Farm line is, "State Farm regrets the inconvenience." I regret State Farm.

Re: CLAIM NUMBER: **. This is a formal complaint regarding the customer service that I received from State Farm Insurance Company. I have been a State Farm customer since May 2006 with home, auto, and personal insurance policies. On July 16, 2016, at approximately 2 pm I called the State Farm Claims Department (855-341-8184) to file a claim because my 2007 Dodge Charger had been broken into and vandalized. I spoke to the representative at great length, detailing the damages, expressing my frustration about being a victim of a crime and inquiring about how to go about obtaining a rental car. On July 18, I picked up a rental car from Hertz Car Rental. On July 19, at 3:45 PM, my vehicle was towed from my driveway by Thomas Tow Truck Company and taken to their tow yard located at 11499 Douglas Rd Rancho Cordova CA 95742, where it sat for six days.

By July 23, State Farm had not contacted me so I called the claims number again and spoke with Theresa. She informed me that the only damage found by the adjuster was the broken lock. She stated that there weren't any notes describing any damages to my vehicle. At this point my vehicle was still sitting at the tow yard and hadn't been evaluated, no one had contacted me, and the State Farm representative was telling me there is no documentation of any damages outside of the lock being broken. I explained to Theresa that when I initially called on July 16, I went into great detail describing the damage to my car. She apologized and took my entire statement again and asked where I wanted to get my car repaired. Theresa informed me that another adjuster will be sent to the repair shop to look over my entire car and get the repairs done.

On July 25, I called State Farm and told them that I decided to go with Anderson Brothers Body Shop, a State Farm Service Select Shop. My car was then towed from Thomas Tow Truck Company to Anderson Brothers on July 27. On July 29, I again contacted the Claims Department at approximately 1 pm. I spoke to a representative named Madison. She informed me that their evaluation concluded that my car had not been broken into. To say that I was shocked would be an understatement! Madison stated that "There is no way anyone broke into your car." Now, I am a decorated 16 year veteran Sacramento County Probation Officer with an impeccable record and I did not appreciate basically being told that I was lying. Madison continued to allude that I was lying about my car being vandalized so I asked to speak to her manager.

A man who stated that his name was Chris got on the phone and stated that he was Madison's manager. Before I could speak one word, Chris stated I am in agreement with Madison. I then asked both individuals what the process is when a customer does not agree with the findings of the insurance company. They both responded there isn't one. At that point I ended the phone call and called my Agent, Alicia ** directly.

I explained to Ms. **, in great detail, the pattern of events that transpired from my initial call to the claims department on July 16, up to the conversation with Madison and Chris. I explained to her that State Farm had not once contacted me about the status of my claim. I told her that the initial adjuster not only did not look at my car but wrote in his report that my car was in horrible condition which is an absolute fabrication. Both the tow yard and Anderson Brothers can attest to the supreme condition that my nine year old car is in. I told her that I was basically called a liar by Madison and Chris and that I had continuously been treated rudely, disrespectfully and quite unfairly. Alicia apologized and her assistant Jennifer also called and apologized but neither had answers as to why I was being treated and spoken to in such a negative manner.

On August 5, someone from State Farm named Cedric called me. Cedric simply stated that "State Farm will not be repairing your car." I was shocked! Three weeks of going back and forth and it all came down to a two minute telephone call from Cedric basically telling me that I was out of luck. That was the very last straw for me. I called Ms. ** to tell her about Cedric's call. She was unsure as to why I received the call and told me she would follow up.

On August 12, almost one month after I initially contacted the State Farm Claims Department, Matt from Anderson Brothers called to inform me that my car repairs were done and I could pick up my car even though State Farm had not signed off on the supplemental paperwork. Matt stated that he was almost sure they will sign off but given my recent experiences with State Farm, I told him that I would wait until everything was finalized.

On August 15, 2016, I picked up my car. One day shy of 30 days since I initially called the State Farm Claims Department. The absurdity of this entire ordeal is that after my deductible of $500, State Farm will only have to pay $163.29. State Farm lost a long-term customer and many potential referrals over $163.29. That is just not good business sense.

I came to State Farm in 2006 on the recommendation of one of your very long time customers. For 10 years I paid my premiums on time, every month. I've never had to make a claim and up until July 16, 2016, I'd never had a problem or concern. It is unfortunate that the first time that I have to make a claim, I am treated as if I am trying to be fraudulent to the company that I have patronized for a decade. In the span of approximately 30 days, State Farm has questioned my character, lied, mislead, misinformed, and ignored me.

The State Farm Facebook page states: "At State Farm, you're more than just a policy number. At State Farm our mission is to help people manage the risks of everyday life, recover from the unexpected, and realize their dreams. The State Farm founders Philosophy for State Farm in 1922 was Being fair and doing what's right for the customer. Today, that philosophy still drives us." These statements describe exactly what I believed I would receive if ever I needed to call upon State Farm for assistance. Instead, the way I was treated was directly the opposite; I was treated like a policy number. I had to fight to get someone to help me recover from the unexpected. I was not treated fairly and the right thing was definitely not done for me. If the customer service that I received is indicative of State farm's customer service across the board, these statements are misleading and deceptive.

The customer service I have endured is way below standards and State Farm has some major training issues and customer service problems. I have gladly canceled all of my policies with this company and taken my home, car and personal insurance to one of your competitors. I would like to end this on a positive note and say that Ms. Alicia ** and her assistant Jennifer were very, very helpful once I contacted them.

My car started locking itself in place. I took it to repair shop and they found I needed a air bag sensor and brake light switch assembly. I filed my supplemental claim with State Farm on 8/22/16. They emailed a link for the repair shop to sent the estimate which they did on 8/26/16. I called claims numerous times. They claimed they didn't receive the info until 9/1/16. Did I mention the repair shop cc the estimate to me. I called again this morning and they finally denied my claim. I can't prove the accident caused the repairs and they can't prove it didn't. The big bad insurance company wins again. Thanks State Farm for not handling this claim in a timely manner and treating me like I was never insured by your company.

Everything that could and should have gone well went wrong. The present claim department is a joke!! They should be run out of business! All the people I have referred to State Farm over the years I wish I go back and retract my referral. Customer service NONE! Help and aid on the roadside none existent!

The claims persons can't give a straight answer to anything... They hedge and wiggle without telling you what is happening. I was stuck over a 1000 miles away from home and I could not get a straight answer. I am now shopping my insurance as are so many other State Farm customers. If they don't fix the claims department don't use them - you are wasting your money.

Was super satisfied with State Farm until I was dropped due to 2 claims I never actually filed. Was never told that simply calling regarding claim options and processes, was the same as filing a claim which would count against my policy, regardless of the fact that I never even continued the process. Nor was I told filing 2 claims would lead to termination of my policy. When I called to get help on the matter, "nothing could be done because it's ultimately the underwriter's decision." Even though nothing was paid out, or finalized. A claims, a claims, a claim I guess. Thanks for the heads up State Farm.

They have, instead, just accepted the responsible person's explanations even when they were not truthful. In my case the cost of the accidents were not great. One of the accidents was with an uninsured person that State Farm believed instead of their own victim (me). State Farm has not got the Back of their Customers, and are misleading us as such a good company. State Farm refused to obtain Video Records from Bank of America. My Wife was blamed and our Vehicle was repaired, while I lost my deductible.

My Son was hit in the rear quarter of his vehicle by a truck that was speeding more than 40 MPH above the limit and ran a red light. His vehicle was totaled. State Farm blamed my son, until he obtained an Attorney to represent him against State Farm Insurance Company and the other Ins. Co. That stopped State Farm from blaming him and forced them to investigate. He was not held responsible. HOW DOES THIS COMPANY STAY IN BUSINESS??

At 2 pm I called back to get an update and was told that the tow truck broke down so they are sending another driver and he should arrive 60 minutes. I asked if they were certain that someone was coming out because I was in a bad area sitting in a CTS Coupe and did not feel safe.

The representative suggested that I call the police immediately!!!. WHAT?! I called again at 2:10 pm and spoke with a rude rep that said "we try to get someone out dar to you!". Yikes! The short version, they refused to call a different tow company and I asked if they only work one tow service I was told that they have several but for whatever reason they refused to send someone. I contacted Cadillac (they offer free towing) and they finally sent someone to tow my car at 5:30 pm. I'm paying State Farm and they fail to provide service to me in a crucial moment. Date of loss: 07/24/16. 7/24/2016- Car began to shake while driving, pulled over to the side of the road. I called roadside assistance with State Farm. Tow truck towed me to the apartment. The tow truck left. Out of duress I should have had tow truck drive me to a mechanic but did not.

I called roadside assistance again and they sent someone out to tow me. I noticed that there was only one lug nut attached to rim. While tow truck driver attempted to attach to truck the lug nut snapped off. Tow truck wasn't able to tow. Tow truck driver removed the tire after using a jack from my car. Tow truck driver called to have another person come out and tow the car. Another tow truck arrived but did not have the right tow truck. I needed a wrecker tow truck in order to have it safely towed. They refused to tow it. There was another tow truck sent out but they could not tow it with no lug nut and no wheel. I kept car in parking lot.

7/28/2016- car was towed to dealership. 8/1- I called State Farm to check on the status of the inspector to come out and look at the car to see how much they would cover. The car was inspected. 8/2/2016- State Farm sent me a check for 239.79 to cover for the repairs. My deductible payment to mechanic was 500.00. State Farm attempted to contact mechanic to see if there were any supplemental estimates that could be paid by State Farm. 8/4/2016- Mechanic wasn't aware that State Farm appraiser came out to inspect the vehicle.

8/5/2016- Went to State Farm office to talk about how disappointed I was about having to pay so much out of pocket. Representative said she would contact the appraisers and manager about my situation. They then told me (after the fact that I had the car towed to a dealership) that State Farm refers customers to have car towed to a preferred mechanic under State Farm which would have been cheaper and I only would have had to pay the 500.00 deductible and State Farm would have paid the rest for repairs. Manager and appraiser never got back to me. I am going to write a letter of complaint and keeping my file open, even if I already paid for the repairs and now I am in tons of debt. And the reason I was on it was not valid. It took me six months to finally get someone to realize they made a mistake and I was told it would take a bit but they'd get me a credit for the difference in the year I overpaid. I waited three months and now am being told they can only go back 30 days. My brother has been with State Farm for many years. He has 2 old trucks with full coverage. In June 2016 a driver in a pick up ran a stop sign and hit him. Travis was told it was the other person fault, here is all their info, they will pay for damages. He then contacts his agent who shortly informs him that the driver was not the owner of truck and refused to pay. He said to his agent, the driver said he was insured and one of the policies was the driver's. At first his agent said he would have to claim off his policy but he would take care of him. Travis's first mistake he did not get a lawyer.

About a month and several phone calls and office visits he is told he would get replacement value. He said "that is all I want." Trying to be a good person he asked what he need to do to get the ball rolling. State Farm said he need to get a lean release for a clear title to move paperwork on. 2nd mistake. He does that and State Farm sends him a letter saying his truck is only worth $4300. It is a 93 Dodge Diesel club cab. Motor and trans strong. He calls and talks to someone saying it was not enough that truck is worth more like $8800. He is told that he needs to have an adjuster look at it. State Farm said they did not have an adjuster who could come out but they would pick it up and take it to their office then they would give him a better price and get him a check out.

That was more than 3 weeks ago. It was picked up on Friday July 29th. The following Mon he called them back and asked when he would be getting his truck back. The truck was completely drivable and his transportation. State Farm said they would not give it back, he could not have it back. When it was picked up it was drivable and the right side from wheel to wheel was damaged. Then they said they would only give him $3800, it is totaled and he could buy it back out of the $3800.

After many phone call, many hrs with State Farm, Sheryl said "well we have his truck and that is more than I would pay for that truck." Her complaint was it was dirty and needs a paint job. He did not decide one day he wanted a new truck and was going to sell it. If that was the case detail and paint job and they sell for $12,988 like his. I mean sell, people pay that. All he wants is enough $ to buy a like truck not a nicer. When I went to pay my Farmer's bill I asked my agent and he said they should pay at least enough to buy one of same on low side. But Sheryl with State Farm claims said "we have his truck and what are you going to do."

The worst part is he has Parkinson and they know it. They cannot understand him over the phone so he had to go to his agent's office until he knew he was not helping him. After 3 crazy calls from him to State Farm telling them to talk to me because he could not take the stress. Now I have sent the about 20 emails with like trucks selling for $7000 to $20,000, most of the ones that were for sale last week are already sold. If you have a claim with State Farm get a good lawyer because they do criminal acts.

I called the main number, gave the claim number, then I was sent to someone else who was so rude and unhelpful that I asked to speak to someone else. While on hold again, I decided to call my local insurance agent instead, who redirected me back into your system. Why would you have a system that is so OBSTRUCTIVE to someone actually calling to provide information about an accident, and seeking some assistance about the process? I come from a family of policyholders for State Farm, spanning over 100 years. I no longer recognize their dehumanizing and hostile claim processing system and rude call center employees. I used to speak with claims processors directly, sometimes in person!

They actually were "like a good neighbor" back then. Now the local insurance offices just sell policies (and have been getting pushier) but no longer help with claims in any way. For those of you who never want to deal with people directly, and are satisfied with website only interaction, State Farm is for you. Times have certainly changed. Once this claim is finally processed, I will be switching insurance companies. Probably to my Credit Union, where people are still personable (for now).

I am really hoping that I can update this with a higher rating by the time this is all settled, but right now I am pretty discouraged. My husband and I were in a collision 375 miles from home. It was entirely the fault of the other driver. There is absolutely no dispute about that. The problem is that because it was a Saturday, the only car rental agencies that were open were at the airport.

State Farm does not work directly with them and will not pay the airport fees. Bad enough. Airport rental agencies are also more expensive. We will end up paying about $150 a week out of our own pocket. The car will take at least two weeks to fix (if it is not deemed a total loss). My husband will have to take time off from work and drive 375 miles each way to get the car back. He has a bad back (mine is even worse) so it will take 2 days each way -- SF will pay for one night in a motel. The rep didn't mention fuel or any other expenses. I thought if we traded the vehicle here at a off-airport car rental agency, we could get a rate that was within the insurance limits.

No go -- State Farm won't pay the relocation fees. In the end, this accident is going to cost us a lot more than the person who caused it, and I will have a 3 year old car that has lost value because she ran into it. I haven't asked about that yet, but I am sure they don't cover that either. I've had auto, home, and life insurance with State Farm since 1980. Disappointed is a huge understatement. I hope the situation improves and I can upgrade my review, but I am not encouraged at all.

Both drivers are insured by State Farm but they do not want to pay the full damages to my daughter's car. They want us to pay our deductible even though it wasn't my daughter's fault. They don't care what the police report says. They state the woman isn't admitting to crossing the line.

I can't afford an attorney to fight this and I'm sure that would cost me more than the deductible but it's the principle. My daughter had control enough of her car not to get into the median and roll her car which could have been extensive and caused injuries or even her death. I feel we're getting screwed by a big company that could care less. They keep insisting on applying that claim under my policy even after I told them I didn't want that filed under my policy but they did it anyway. We were involved in an accident caused by a texting driver. Our claim was immediately filed with our insurance company, State Farm. For the 2 weeks we have been dealing with them, we have consistently received incorrect information from the majority of people we have spoken with in the claims department. Each person we are transferred to tells us something different than the last one we spoke with.

To begin with, some random employee in the claims department took it upon herself to assume that our vehicle was flooded based solely on the fact that it is sitting in a wrecker yard somewhere near Baton Rouge, LA. Due to this erroneous assumption, an entire week was wasted with bouncing our claim back and forth between the total loss department and the catastrophe claim department, with nobody taking the time to listen to us when we tried to explain that we were able to confirm with the wrecker company that there was absolutely no flood damage to the vehicle.

Furthermore, it has even gone so far as us being told that the vehicle is a total loss, resulting in us participating in a conference call with the total loss department and our finance company to iron out the details of State Farm's payoff for our vehicle, only to find out 5 minutes after ending that call that the vehicle is now not considered a total loss due to the claims adjuster applying incorrect assumptions to our vehicle's value AFTER the payoff arrangements had already been made with our finance company. We have actually been told 3 separate times that the vehicle is a total loss, only to have someone inform us shortly afterward that a mistake has been made and they are moving forward with the repair process.

This is just a small part of what we have had to endure in dealing with State Farm's claims department. These employees and supervisors are apparently not capable of communicating with each other or their customer to determine the facts of each claim, and they have proven that they are completely incapable of providing accurate information in a timely manner to their customers who are paying a premium price for the insurance that is supposed to protect them in these exact circumstances. We are very disappointed in this company and would strongly recommend to anybody that they look elsewhere for their insurance needs.

I have been a State Farm customer for 22 years. In October of 2015 my son, who is insured on my State Farm policy, was hit by a car while riding his motorcycle. The driver who hit my son was also insured by State Farm. The driver of the car was found at 100% fault but everything has been a struggle with State Farm. The driver of the car never told his insurance that an accident occurred so after a few days I called State Farm to initiate a claim.

They immediately began demanding my son get the motorcycle out of the towing lot impound, threatening to not pay the towing bill if we didn't act fast. He was injured and our lives were turned upside down but that was their main concern - making sure the motorcycle was removed from the towing lot storage. I had to pay all of the towing and storage bills up front and wait months to be reimbursed. Lord knows what poor people are supposed to do because those bills can be steep. I had to put everything on a credit card and make payments until the check was mailed to us.

We did manage to settle the damage portion of the claim but they will not cooperate with us at all on the medical and personal injury portion. Without notice we have been assigned to three different claims agents who claim to not have any of our records when I call them. I send them bills and documentation through their portal email which is as good as sending into a black hole. It sometimes never reaches the intended destination or takes a week or longer to get to our agent. They NEVER answer the phone when we call them and always seem to be missing some piece of information they need to make their decision to offer a settlement. They also told me that they send out a request to the hospital, doctors, employers, etc. one time for documentation and if they receive nothing in return they don't do anything about it - the case just sits there until the records are provided.

Mind you they never tell you what is going on, it just never gets taken care of, so you are unaware that you are expected to collect the records and send them in. When I asked about the progress of the case I found that nothing at all had been done because they hadn't received the records they requested. They told me if I wanted things resolved I should request the information myself and send it to them. That is what I did but I still have not received any communications from them indicating they have the documentation that they need or if they need something further. Everything just goes into a black hole and no one ever calls or emails me back. I checked with the hospital and doctor's office and they both stated they never received any request from State Farm for my son's medical records.

I have given up and have hired an attorney to get my son's settlement. It should also be noted that the agents and other State Farm staff we dealt with made no effort to be polite or professional with us. They spoke to us in a very rude manner. Sometimes, when I was able to get in touch with a live person, I could hear an audible sign on the other end. Unbelievable. After 22 years we are leaving State Farm. My advice is to stay away from them, they are horrible to deal with.

I called on multiple occasions to get status to see when someone would come out and each time I spoke w/ a different person and each time they gave me a different answer. They are the epitome of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. It's important to know that my experience occurred with the agency in NY b/c that's where the accident occurred but I also corresponded with the agency in MI b/c that's where my insurance was purchased and the MI agency was much more knowledgeable and helpful than the NY agency. This is also vital to the story b/c in NY there is alternate side parking so my boyfriend and I had to take time off from work each week that passed and the car was still sitting and waiting for them to inspect.

When it came time to submit the paperwork basically handing over the title of my car to their staff (car was deemed a total loss), they forgot to give me the name of the company that would take my car so that was another phone call to get clarification. The turnover for receiving the check was timely but the overall experience leading up to the finality of the entire experience was painful. Best of luck to anyone that has to work with the NY agency if you're ever involved in an accident. It's hard enough losing your 1st car but it makes it worse not dealing with a competent agency.

Wow. I have never seen anything like this. Not one call in over 30 days in response to a claim. They wanted the rental car back before they had paid the claim. Obviously she could not get a car until it was paid. They then told me how to fill the power of attorney out and when I refused to fill in information that I could not vouch for they refused to pay. I called the insurance commission. I called the supervisor. Over 30 days. No payment. And to make it even better, my husband had died on the 10th of July. I spend over 30 days calling them to resolve. As I write this, I have still not been paid. These guys are crooks. Do yourself a favor. Do not buy insurance from them.

Buyer beware! I've been with State Farm on and off since '77. They have NEVER EVER paid on any claims, lie about every claim you turn in. Tell you it's covered only to find out... they have claims adjusters that can say anything after they tell you you're covered. I had full coverage with catas. added. I was in Wal-Mart for dog food in and out 10 mins. Tops a blizzard a hit while in store. Someone hit my car, pushed it sideways took tires off rims. I called right away. They claimed my car was in 4 accidents and my 0 deductible went to $2500.00 and only covered wheels tires and undercarriage on awd. I was pissed.

Went elsewhere but on disability went back 'cause cheaper than everyone. New agent just took my 74.00 bill per month, auto withdrew $198.67, no warning or notice. Overdrafted acct. I called and owner told me I had fees for switching to car on storage ins. with them for multi-car discount, when I had to have some maintenance work done. When I got car back and switched back, charged again and never told about these hidden charges. I called ins. companies, said no charge for this as 16 other State Farm companies. I'm so done, gotta fight to get overpayment back. Done never again. I will pay more for HONESTY.

Gave my car a value of 1k and 12k for upgrades. Even worse drove car over a year thinking I had proper insurance to find out I had liability insurance. My agent is great but the underwriters ask for appraisals but won't warrant the appraisal... these folks are a joke.

This year my mother was hit while stopped at a red light. State farm put her vehicle as total loss when it was not. Only the left doors needed to be fixed on the Honda Odyssey. They only cover one weeks car rental while we had a receipt that stated 2 weeks! We had to pay the balance to the car rental service! State farm announced that our policy would be cancelled after they gave a rebuildable title.

After we found a new insurance, state farm then would not cancel our insurance policy. After calling back A THIRD TIME, an agent told us that we needed to give them PROOF of another insurance before they cancel our insurance. YES, we had the other insurance policy on hand but State Farm made the entire process intrusive and difficult. What does it matter to them that we want to cancel? It's quite frankly NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS what insurance company we joined, if any.

Geico and other insurance companies that we have had in the past were never this nosy or difficult. This woman told us she would not cancel our insurance unless we sent her paperwork! I was extremely pissed off to say the least. They screw up our minivan, gave a rebuilt title, and made it difficult to cancel the policy in which they initially wanted us gone from! Our new insurance policy offers way more coverage at a much cheaper price. The very thought of state farm and its associates gives me a headache.

We have been loyal State Farm customers for nearly 35 years. Our agents have changed twice during that time due to retirements, but they have always been great to work with. We have our homeowners and auto policies with them. Last week, we received a notice via regular mail that our auto insurance was being cancelled. I was stunned. Our account includes my daughter and my mother in-law (they were added within the past 3 years). Both have had a minor accident within the past 3 years. I hit a deer four years ago (a no fault - unavoidable accident). We have no tickets in the past six years (I have never had a ticket).

After contacting them, we were informed that we were being cancelled for being high risk. Upon further inquiry, it turns out that they are also including the driving record of my elderly father in-law who has never been on our policy and has not driven since 2010 but was insured by State Farm. Our agent was stunned and apologized profusely. He has been unable to get anyone at the Corporate Level to do anything or even to respond. Apparently this is a corporate computer review and is not subject to appeal. I have paid them scads of money on both my auto and homeowners policies (never a claim on homeowners policy). We are being discarded like toilet paper (but surprise, surprise, they want to keep our homeowner's policy). Like hell they will. So much for "Like a Good Neighbor, State Farm is There".

My family has been with State Farm Insurance for approximately 50 years; auto, home and life insurance. This year, we were hit by teenagers who were at fault. They had Direct Insurance which is not a known insurance company. We were told to use our State Farm Med Pay for the medical injuries and Direct Insurance would reimburse State Farm at the end of the year, due to the extensive injuries sustained. This was approved.

After 2 months of billing, the State Farm Medical Department started stalling; refusing to pay; became extremely rude on the phone to parties who provided treatment; refused all treatment codes provided by the medical treatment providers; would only accept Orthopedic Doctors treatments; and for pain management and cranial therapy which work hand in hand, admitted that they did not know anything about these treatments and told the providers they were stupid, did not have training, and since they had not heard of these treatments, they would not be paying. All accident treatment does not necessarily have to be treated with more drugs, pain meds or surgery; which causes people to become sicker and have more problems in the long run.

The Case Managers from State Farm have been extremely rude on the phone; they are not knowledgeable about medicine and medical treatment; and only believe in conventional medicine. This is 2016, there is more to medical treatment than pushing more drugs to provide treatment. There is no need to be so rude and condescending over the telephone. After our family being with State Farm for 50+ years, and using our Med-pay for the very first time, this is a wake-up call. If State Farm treats customers this badly, who have been with them for 50+ years and are using them for the very first time, who needs this insurance.

We will not be paying another dime to State Farm after this type of treatment and will have to cancel all three of our State Farm Policies. This has been horrible treatment by State Farm and absolutely unreal for loyal customers who have never had to use their insurance... and to be treated this way is unbelievable and horrible. I hope all insurance companies are not like this. I hope there are some good companies out there. Frustrated and Astounded in Georgia.

I received a letter – not registered mail, just regular postal service – notifying me of cancellation of my policy, effective date was A MONTH AND HALF ago. I've been driving around with no insurance for a month and a half unknowingly. And of course I'm reading this letter after office hours for my particular agent. So I called the customer service number to see what is going on and if I do in fact have no insurance and should stop driving my vehicle immediately. The first agent I spoke to refused to saying anything but a scripted line telling me to call my agent tomorrow. When I asked for a supervisor he hung up on me. This is by far the worst experience I've had with customer service, and not to mention very stressful considering how lucky I am that I didn't get into an accident while not insured.

While attempting to buy a new car, it was discovered that Carfax had an error on my report. They show my car was a 'total loss' in July of 2008. I was told that all I needed was a 'Letter of Experience' from State Farm. If they can verify that there wasn't a claim on or around July 30, 2008 in the state of Missouri (I lived in IL at the time), then Carfax would remove the error. After 9 phone calls, several transfers and holds, talking to numerous reps, spending over a total of 5 hours of my time (over the course of a few weeks) nothing has been resolved.

EACH person I spoke with CONFIRMED there was never a total loss reported on my VIN, yet NOBODY would put it in writing for me. One rep told me State Farm had nothing to do with that accident or Carfax. (Meanwhile I'm unable to trade-in my car because of their refusal to help me.) I was instructed to go back to Carfax, request the police department and case # of the accident and contact the police department myself. This could easily be resolved with a ONE sentence letter from State Farm. I am so happy I am no longer a customer of State Farm and due to my recent experience with them, 5 of my co-workers have dropped State Farm.

I love State Farm. They did an awesome job handling my claim a few months back. I don't say many negative things about them but my one issue is with their website. I wanted to send this information directly to them but saw no avenue to do so on their website. So I have to resort to public forums and hopefully they can read this and make some changes.

I went to add a driver to my policy since I'm getting married in two months. So I filled out all the information - there was even a box to click on to show that the added driver is your fiance. But then I get a call from them stating that I cannot add any drivers online nor can I add my fiance to the plan. I really do not understand why anyone would publish a form specifically for adding a driver on a website and then turn around and say you actually can't do that because they can't use any of the information they required you to enter. They said it's not safe to transfer sensitive info over the web... but if it's so unsafe then why did they require me to enter it in the first place??

I wouldn't be so frustrated if they hadn't had the option to add a driver online. Either take that off the website or put some kind of disclaimer on there that the form you put on your website does nothing and there is no point in filling it out. Because apparently it's not safe to put that info online even though they require you to enter it? I just don't understand. I really love the company but my one critique is it's not super tech-friendly for the millennial generation. I think a lot of millennials (myself included) really want to see that change - and soon.

On July 28, 2016 while driving east on Florence Boulevard in Florence, Alabama, a State Farm insured entered the roadway from the south side (from Burger King as I recall) and struck our vehicle in the right rear door causing damage in approximately $2,000. The police were called and the report was written as required. We had been in our middle lane of traffic for over two miles and the State Farm insured for some reason did not stop, just ran out from the side and hit our vehicle.

The State Farm insured did not report the claim and was contacted by the State Farm adjuster over a week later. When we called him, he stated that the State Farm insured told him a different story and that he was denying our claim. The damage to our vehicle was to the right rear door and the damage to the other car was on the front end. How could it possibly be any other way than she pulled out and hit us? Even if the fault was subject to doubt, there is no reason for the State Farm adjuster to be rude. He treated us as though we were trying to steal from State Farm. Surely State Farm does not teach its adjusters to be rude. State Farm adjuster knows that their insured was at fault but denied the claim anyway. Now I will have to present a claim to my collision carrier, pay my deductible and wait while my insurance company goes about the business of subrogation.

We have just moved to a new area and are building a new home and will need builder's risk, homeowner's, personal umbrella and possibly term life insurance. At the time of the wreck, I had already gotten a quote from a. After this experience, there is no way I will do business with State Farm and would recommend that my friends and relatives reconsider buying from State Farm.

OK so let me be upfront and help others out. State Farm is an insurance company, a business. They are not there to be your friend, and reading the reviews on here I think people have some strange belief that they are there to help you out. They work like any other company. They want profits to please stockholders. In order to profit while also raising pay for the higher ups, they need to intake more money and pay out less money. That's just the way it is, and you have to understand that. That being said, you have a right to get what is owed to you, so don't let this bully win. Get a lawyer if you have a claim. It is worth every penny, and they actually get things done.

OK so on to my experience. I was hit violently by a State Farm insured driver while I was on my motorcycle. I was stopped to make a left-hand turn waiting for oncoming traffic to go by. The driver hit me from behind, going ~30mph (based on police estimate. I can assure you it was faster). She was over the yellow line as well, and didn't brake until after my body impacted the hood and windshield. Young girl, about 18, and I can only guess that she was on her phone. (Good luck convincing the police to get a record of the cell phone use. They won't do it unless a court orders it.) Police find her fully at fault. She gets off with nothing but a pay by mail ticket for assured clear distance. My lawyer filed a claim the next week with State Farm for my property damage and injuries. Can't talk about the injuries obviously, so this is in regards to the vehicle damage.

Good luck getting a hold of anyone at SF. They pass you around to different 'teams' on a whim. Call one day and its 'Mary', call 10 minutes later and 'Sue' is in charge of your claim and has no idea what you just talked about when on the phone with 'Mary'. Happened to me for about a week straight. Finally found out after 2 weeks that my motorcycle was being declared a total loss (no crap). Released it to their total loss department so they could get it from the tow company. Didn't hear anything for the next 2 weeks about it. So I called my lawyer and he made a call, got the name and number of the total loss adjuster. Lawyer said to contact him and give him the details of my bike (fully custom, hand-built, classic, rare parts, etc).

I made up a nice excel worksheet that contains all my receipts in PDF format (over 300 receipts) and provide a build log of work that was done to the bike. Got a $100 estimate for the amount of labor I put into it, and photos of the motorcycle before the build, during my build, after the build, and then photos of after the accident.

I tried calling the adjuster to find out where to send the files to (over 200mb and 400 pages of documents). Left messages on his voicemail 5 times over the course of 5 days. Never got a callback. Oddly, my father got ahold of me and said that a State Farm adjuster was leaving voicemail messages on his cell phone. How State Farm got my father's number, and why they call it, is beyond me. No one ever gave them his number, and I always left the proper phone number to reach me at when I left voicemails. So I tried calling this adjuster back and you guessed it, voicemail.

Got fed up and called customer service and they told me to email the files to statefarmclaims@statefarm.com. Well 3 days later my father called again to tell me someone from State Farm left another voicemail saying the files can't be read. So I called customer service again, and they tell me that "you can only send JPEG or PDF with a max of 10mb per email." I tried to explain to these idiots that I have over 200mb worth of files (all in PDF format) and the only way to send them is via a ZIP file. She said they can't open compressed files. Complete idiots. So I said "Screw that. Give me the mailing address and I'll print out every single friggin page and send them certified." She didn't like this idea but I persisted. (Once you talk about 'certified' and ways you can track delivery of items they freak out. They don't want any paper trail so they can continue their 'delay' tactic.) Got it all printed out and sent it in a box that day. Was delivered on Monday July 25th, 2016.

Still haven't heard back at all from the claim adjuster about my total loss. Do yourself a favor folks and print out your state's administrative code, the pages that refer to insurance claim fair practices. Send them certified to the insurance company to remind them of how they are supposed to treat you. This also shows that you mean business and won't take their crap. I'm letting my lawyer handle it from here out.

Hi. This is the worst company ever. I had them for 15 years plus or so. I never had this issue before. I rental claim was denied which should not have been denied. They have been giving issue especially this last agent since 2014. They made me feel like a criminal. I have always paid my insurance on time. I feel they are going to go out of business soon if they don't change. I have asked the supervisor for a different agent and I was denied. I am so glad I no longer have them as my rental or car insurance. Poor business practice. State Farm sent me a request for the third time to release my records for Kaiser. I have already mailed this request and faxed this request twice for the two accidents. They have been saying my case is under review since 2014.

They never contacted me or noted in these under review letters that they're missing a Kaiser release form. How would I know why is under review if they don't tell me why or what's needed. I have contacted them and they tell me still waiting for doctor's records. I had to call because they stopped paying for medical expenses again in July. I finally found a doctor who know how to adjust ribs, hips and buttocks. Still need treatment and pain is coming back. This doctor and other doctors do not take Medicare. Medicare has been paying for treatment since 2014. I only noticed that they started paying when Esurance contacted Medicare so they can pay Medicare for their at fault driver.

What I just noticed and I thought it falls under privacy act was they wanted to know about my HIV Test results - it was filled by the State Farm agent. I noted on the form not to send this information - this has nothing to do with the car accident. They also wanted pharmacy records alcohol/drug treatment. I told State Farm agent that I don't drink, smoke or do drugs. I also am lucky not to have HIV. I mentioned this is a privacy issue and noted the forms for Kaiser not release anything regarding any personal information or gynecology issues or test. This Company is below a one star is negative. I can't believe this. I can understand if this form is for life insurance; not a car accident.

I believe this agent has just been sitting on my case. She had denied my loss of wages/earnings due to the accident. I was in bed for months and unable to work for over a year. Slowing I am starting to put in 1/2 or so of work when I can. Still recovering. I spoke to her back in May, she should have mentioned that she need Kaiser release form. She mentioned that she wanted me to see their doctor and I told her I don't mind doing that. She never contacted me. I had to find out from the doctor first for non-payment. Then I received a letter last week and I contacted her. She told me it would take about a week before she gets that fax I sent her since State Farm scans faxes and it will take 2 months plus until this is resolved and see their doctors.

I can't believe State Farm. Shame on them. I believe she and her team have been sitting on my case hoping I will give up. I told her I am going to continue and do what's needed until I am almost back to before the accidents. State Farm is not there for their customers; they are just there to get your money and not pay when there is a claim. I have a friend who was in the hospital recently and she overheard a man talk to someone about State Farm not paying since 2004 or so... he just had his 8th surgery. He mentioned he will continue to do whatever is necessary until he is well.

I feel the same. I realize if they don't approve the treatment after I see the doctor. I will find a Medicare doctor. Medicare will go after them for payment... all my injuries and spasms are due to the accidents... I am shocked they asked about HIV... there has to be laws against this... I hope someone can look into this. Just want to share.

I wasn't contacted back so about two months later I contact her again and she tells me that she is sorry but that is my premium and I have to pay it ($400 higher than what she told me initially and I agreed to pay it) with no further explanation. I have NOT gotten in any accidents or gotten any tickets since I got the insurance, my premium was raised with no reason. They only act professional when they are trying to sell their business but once it is done, they don't care about their customers.

My husband and I have State Farm and have had them for years. I was in an accident in May (not my fault) that involved several cars. My husband called State Farm day (Thursday) and notified them. He was assigned a case manager and was told they would be in contact with him. A week later we still had not heard back from them and my husband tried calling several times to speak with the case manager. He was told she is on vacation and no one else would be able to assist with our case.

After almost two more weeks he finally reached her by calling twice a day, everyday, and she stated that yes, she had been on vacation but in the week and a half that she had been back she “had not touched our case”. She was very rude every time he has spoken to her. My case involved extensive damage to my car and injuries that I sustained. They did not want to total my car even though the damage was 65% of the car's value causing me to need a rental to get to doctors’ appointments. They said that I would only receive $500 of their money for the rental, but I would have to pay the taxes and 20% of the charges which was almost $200.00. My car was in the shop for over a month and they expected me to “figure it out” once my rental car “allowance” was reached by the 25th day. I was without a car for almost two weeks.

They also refused to use OEM parts and when my husband said that is all he wanted on my new car & they told him, “Then you pay for the parts. We will use what we see fit.” We are supposed to be reimbursed for the 20% and taxes we paid for the rental and they told us WE had to contact the other car's insurance to get the reimbursement. They are not responsible to get that money back for us for some reason. They also took over four weeks to “determine” that I was not at fault in the accident. We hired an attorney who had the report twice as fast.

State Farm has been a nightmare to work with and it seems like they are sending my husband on a wild goose chase. We were also notified yesterday that it could be a YEAR before we are reimbursed for our deductible that we paid and that they are “working on it”. It appears they do not care about their customers and drag their feet about everything. Meanwhile I am out of work with injuries and have to pay all of this money out of pocket miraculously.

I called State Farm and asked them to put after market parts on it because I want my car fixed. They said they didn't do that and that they would cut me a check for the cost to repair it. I told the lady I don't want the money I want my car fixed. I don't even have a side view mirror. She got huffy and said "If you don't want the money, you don't have to take it and you can get your insurance involved to see what they can do for you."

Anytime I would try to say something she would talk over me and drown me out. So now I have to drive my car without a side view mirror, a crushed door or I can do the leg work myself and try to find a door for it. Which I'm doing anyway because in addition the body shop they recommended was subpar. The lady who took care of me was a total flake couldn't even remember the names of simple objects, I had to fill in the blanks for her when she was talking. She only had my car for a day before she said she couldn't find the part. Which is total baloney because I called Jeep Corporation and they're getting back with me on what other jeep doors are compatible with mine. I was the victim here but ended up losing in the long run any way you look at it. Worthless people.

My son who is on my automobile insurance (not State Farm) was involved in an auto accident through no fault of his own where the other driver (State Farm insured) was cited for improper lane change which caused my son's vehicle to be declared a total loss by State Farm. The driver of the other vehicle was not the insured and didn't have proof of insurance on him. It took State Farm a week to locate their insured and during that time my son was without a car, then they argued about the amount of the loss. I provided documentation that substantiated our claim that the car had a newly rebuilt motor to which their expert responded that State Farm considers an invoice from a local machine shop that showed testing, surfacing heads, etc. routine maintenance. Finally after giving up and trying to cut our losses we were two weeks ago that if we sent them our title by UPS next day that we would have our check in 48 hours.

They received it a week ago and we still have no check. I called yesterday and was told it was sent out by UPS at 4 pm the day before but they could not provide a tracking number. Who trains these people and why would anyone in their right mind utilize them? My auto insurer has been very quick and thorough settling every claim I have ever had and I've been their customer for 33 years. I am so glad when my wife and I got married that I switched her from State Farm to our current company.

My husband was t-boned by a State Farm customer 6/16/2016 just two days before our wedding. We got a rental car because we work different shifts and need two cars. After two weeks of not hearing anything from State Farm we figured we better hire an attorney. Their customer was found at fault the day of the wreck when she ran a stop sign and smashed in the side of our customized Mustang. Yesterday we got a call from the rental car place saying they needed the car back or a call from State Farm saying they would cover it. My lawyers and insurance have heard nothing at all from State Farm a month later... So I called them. They are investigating coverage and will not pay for anything at this point in time... Leaving us with a 500 dollar rental car bill that we cannot afford and we are back down to one car. No clue how we are going to work this one out. Stay away from State Farm. Nothing but aggravation.

My daughter was in a 3 car accident that was no fault of hers as was verified by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, however State Farm assigned her 20% liability which also reduced the payout on her 2007 Ford Mustang that they totaled. After two months of being abused by their adjusters and my agent I called an attorney who threatened to sue them over their subjective practices. Lo and behold they FINALLY accepted full liability. Thanks to this site I was ready for their **. Don't settle, sue.

I was stopped when a driver with State Farm insurance hit me. This happened over 3 months ago. State Farm had yet to reimburse me for medical expenses and lost work time. Getting my car repaired was a challenge. Finally after a month I got it back. The repair shop said State Farm was the problem and State Farm said it was the car repair shop.

I spoke with rep, who said all inquiries should be directed to her. She then went on vacation and I had to speak to 2 other reps. They are so pleasant on the phone which they tell I upfront they record. Getting them to follow through is impossible. I got a notice in the mail that someone else was handling claim. His favorite trick is to call and leave number and extension. When I call I cannot get through to his extension. Even if I return his call shortly after I get his message.

I just got a letter from him today saying he left me a message and the number and extension to call him back are same!!! If you are ever in an accident and the person that hits you has State Farm understand that they will be pleasant in conversations on phone to you but getting reimbursed for money you have paid will be a lengthy process. As I said it has been over 3 months!

I had an accident on 6/29/16 because a lady insured by them ran a red light. My vehicle is undrivable because both airbags deployed. A business located where it happened has video of this accident showing everything I've said. I have a copy of this video too. I was assigned a claims person on the first of July and still haven't been contacted at all for anything. I keep calling and all they'll say is liability hasn't been determined. They won't tell me if they've received my video proof or anything. I have 3 kids, 2 of whom have asthma and need transportation. They act like it doesn't matter to them.

I've reported it to the nc insurance commission and they were supposed to call state farm, but I still have heard nothing. When I called today the lady tried to say the claims lady was just reassigned to my case yesterday! It says online assigned on July 1st and that's the day I called and received her name etc. I feel like they are saying reassigned because of me calling the insurance commission and it's covering their butts. I'm extremely frustrated and without a vehicle because of their customer.

This is regarding an incident that happen today July 5, to my daughter. She called for road service assistance and explained that she was in a parking garage and waited for 2 hours. When the tower arrive the tower is not for garage parking. The dispatcher did it wrong, so a next tower was sent for another 2 hours but the tower did not look for my daughter and left and picked up another one. All in all my daughter waited 4 hours under the heat of the parking lot. I think this service is unacceptable.

I filed a claim recently and just wanted my car repaired. I have never filed a claim before. They never explained to me properly on how the repair process works. I said I would do their select service where I can drop off my vehicle and repair at the same time, or so I believed. I was never told to contact the body shop on their list myself and schedule the appointment not until I had called the 4th time on trying to schedule a repair. I was able to call and schedule an appointment with one of the body shops on their select service list but I am still unsure if what I'm doing is correct. It's just been a very frustrating experience.

Almost 2 months ago I was in an accident. Not my fault. Was rear ended by a State Farm customer. I was sent to pick my car up 3 times of which when I got the first time my front two tires was throwing me off the road due to sliding during wreck. State farm said they weren't replacing them. The second time my tail lights weren't hooked up! The third time I got home just to notice the paint job was not good! 3 trips as well and a deposit to enterprise. Then was told they do not reimburse you for any of it! Now diminished value of my car is 5,050$$$. I of course was sent to do the leg work of finding this out at the dealership after an 8,000$$ wreck.

State farm ate 1 1/2 month. Called to settle for 500$-ummm negative. So 3 weeks later I'm waiting on another offer on my diminished value and waiting to see what they are going to do about my paint job. State farm has yet to even come close to closing this out. There should be a set time allowed to finish these claims in simple wrecks so people can move on with their families, work, & etc. It's not like they care. They only make things worse and hard on you. Ohhh and used junkyard parts to repair my 4 yr old car! Can't forget that! I believe their commercial states they use new parts??? This has been so stressful. I can't believe such a huge named business can be allowed to operate this way. They also do not return emails or phone calls! ~~ One mad woman ~~

Was with State Farm for 18 years (policies included home, and 4-5 vehicles at various times), no claims ever filed on any policy. Roof was damaged in a large hail storm, and over the course of 4 years was verified by 3 roofers, one brought in by State Farm to insure no bias. Photos were taken showing all the damage, and the claim was denied. Shame on you State Farm!! You take people's hard earned money, do nothing for it, and find any reason you can possibly pull out of the thin air to deny their claim. Do not trust them like I did!!

I am now with Farmers's, using the same coverage only better than I had with State Farm and they saved me enough money to cover my Home Owner's Policy each year compared to what I was paying with State Farm!! Run from this company as fast as you can. Just Google State Farm Sucks and see how many people have been taken advantage of by this company. Even the industry ranks them as the top company to refuse to pay out claims.

I have had State Farm regrettably for a year now and up until this year I have had a problem with them increasing my payment every single month. They have also been drafting money from my account every month without my authorization... This is by far the very worse insurance company I've had in my life. The road side assistance is garbage. It takes 2 hours for someone to get to you and when they finally do they don't try to help you with simple things such as a boost. They're in a rush to get to their next dispatch to make money. Smh.
