I am fortunate in that I have a wonderful State Farm insurance agent here in Florida but am annoyed with the company overall. State Farm says that they are offering a one-time 25% discount to their customers because people are driving less due to COVID-19 and therefore are having fewer accidents, however they just had an across the board increase of 8%!!! What a scam! They'll more than make up for their 25% "discount" in a matter of three months!!! Shame on them!

We have had SF insurance for both home and auto, for many years. I am so frustrated with them! They seem to constantly drop the ball, or perhaps purposely let things drop (I think the latter possibility is the true one). An agency that they contracted with to do risk assessment lied to us. I have many stories, but SF’s latest fail is just a blatant denial of our rights. We requested, at the beginning of the pandemic lockdown, to change a high-mileage commute car to an occasional-use car. This would have saved us a good chunk of money, as we have not been driving the car at all for more than a month, and won’t be driving it for another month. SF said they would have to refer the request to another department, and no one followed up on the request. It’s been a month now. Terrible company.

Had a accident a few months ago and when I was backing out of a parking space. I hit a car that came around the corner which did not wait for me to back up. State Farm insurance claims department did a crappy investigation. Which I believe they did not do any type of investigation. It’s all hearsay. I have been with State Farm for 20 years and never been in a accident while with them. It makes no since why insurance goes up 50 dollars more. I'm very displeased with State Farm claims on how they conduct their investigation. I believe all auto insurance companies are like this. Something has to be done in all this. But since I live in California it won’t happen.

I been with State Farm for 25 years. In 25 years I have never had an accident until recently which I had 2. One one year another the next. The agent told me nothing he can do. They are canceling me. I asked why he said the two claims. I said the 2 in 25 years other than glass breaks. He said they were only looking for spotless drivers anymore. I have never been late with payments. Have an umbrella policy and home owners. They want to keep those two. I explained that’s not an option. Why would I be loyal to them when they are not to me. To top it off the COVID-19 has caused me not to be able to find another carrier. I asked for an extension and was told no. State Farm is not what they used to be. I was lied to last year during a storm and my agent even said I should pressure it with the state but I didn’t want to get anyone else in trouble. This was on my home. It seems like I understand loyal. They don’t.

I cancelled an auto policy in February and only last week received the reimbursement check for the prorated amount I was owed after the agent and or corporate offices completely bungled several aspects of my policies. The total incompetence of the agent I had and the way the corporate office did nothing nor customer service calls to get the policy cancelled has scared me away from State Farm for life and if reading this review is to be worth anything to you, it'll scare you away too.

To date the last mailings I received actually say the policy has been reinstated, again another sign of their utter incompetence, though I've also received the reimbursement check. No mailings saying anything was cancelled etc. and this is just a small slice of the various bungled situations. I am so glad I never had to deal with them filing a claim when I'd have really needed their support. Based on the other reviews I've seen, my cancelling all my policies with them was a very wise decision and I only made that decision after several other mishaps with their life insurance division who demonstrated poor service repeatedly. Insurance may be necessary but consumers should hold insurers to a high standard and expect to be treated fairly and with professionalism.

I just want to start off by saying I don't like to complain at all. I am normally a very patient and forgiving person but at this point I feel so walked on I need to tell others they may be about to buy coverage from State Farm. Most of the people I have spoken to have but super apologetic and as helpful as they can be, but this process as a whole and one EXTREMELY rude "specialist" has made this too much to handle. Mind you I am 7 months pregnant so dealing with all of this is definitely not good for my baby, but I am a strong mom!!

Anyway, My father-in-law was driving my car from a dr's appointment and I did not want to drive him because of being pregnant and Covid still being an issue. (Thank God I didn't drive him) State farm's customer practically T-boned him as he was making a left turn. The police report stated she was not even on the road yet when he started making the turn and that she sped up aggressively in a parking lot smashed into him causing the fire department to have to cut him out of the car. There were witnesses and a VIDEO that stated she was speeding and never applied her breaks. Not only did she smash into my father-in-law she continued to smash into TWO other cars!!! The police report obviously states it's her fault.

It has been almost a month since this happened. State Farm has not contacted me one time to let me know what is going. I have had to call them every single time to get answers. At first we were waiting on the police report so they asked my father-in-law (which doesn't speak English very well) to make a statement. He told me what happened and I wrote it down for him. This was all in the first week. I waited and waited for a call.. a little over a week. Nothing. So I called. The first lady was about to set me up with a rental car and someone to look at the damages; She was calm and super nice. When I got transferred to report my wage loss because I no longer have a car to get to work I spoke to this AWFUL person of a "specialist" who then told me State farm is not liable for any damages and it is not their responsibility to do anything all because my father-in-law was making a left turn, so the lady that hit him had the right away.

When I explained that the police report stated it was her fault for purposely speeding up to hit him she basically told me she doesn't give a crap about the police report and called me a liar. Saying no one would have set me up with a rental or to get my car fixed. I was in SHOCK that she was being so rude. I told her that I guess the only option now is to get a lawyer and she told me to do it like she didn't believe I would and hung up the phone on me. I was completely calm and respectful the ENTIRE time I was talking to her. I did call back just to see if what she said was true and a SUPER nice lady answered, apologized and explained the situation and said I should get my insurance involved. So I did. AND I bought the police report online myself and sent it directly to state farm. That way I have a copy in case I need to get a lawyer involved and clearly because it was impossible for them to get it themselves.. Or they just didn't care.

This was well over a week ago that I sent them the police report and asked them to contact me immediately. Still nothing.. I just want to give everyone a little background. If i was driving, the way the car was hit, I could have very possibly lost my child. This makes me super angry to think about and the fact my father-in-law has been in so much pain because of this. This car, my dad bought for me. He passed away in March. This is the last thing I have that he gave me. So not only on top of all of this stress I have been experiencing through outside problems, State Farm has still not contacted me.

My car is still sitting in the tow yard because I have nowhere to take it. I do not have a car to go to work.. I do not have a car to go to my OB appointments and GOD FORBID I go into labor. I feel like I have gotten nowhere at this point and for State Farm to be all about protecting people they aren't doing anything and they don't seem to care. So seriously, just think about this the next time you want to buy car insurance because I can't even imagine how they are treating the lady that hit everyone. I feel broken because of all of this.

My husband and I were involved in an accident and the process to file a claim with State Farm was horrible from start to finish. They wrongfully denied our claim in less than 1 business day before even allowing us efficient time to send photos and proof of fault via their email. One of their agents on our claim team, Paula, was curt in explaining that that's just the way State Farm does things... She clearly did not care whatsoever about our frustrations regarding the process and handling of our claim. I will make a point to let all friends and family know of this experience and will NEVER recommend State Farm to anyone in the future.

Before even reviewing photos, evidence, and details of the vehicle that swiped us, State Farm denied our claim within 1 business day. After talking to our agent at Geico and receiving the advice that we should still send our photos via email, we sent everything and then called State Farm again. A woman named Paula took our call; apparently she is one of the several team members of Tammy ** who assigned our claim.

After asking her why an insurance company would make a decision to deny a claim in less than a business day before even reviewing any of proof, Paula was rude and frank with her response "That's just the way State Farm does things. Others may not agree but it's how we operate." Paula then told us that we were welcome to submit any other proof we'd like and IF they decided it was proof enough that they would notify us of any change, but otherwise the claim would remain under the status of DENIED. This is a hideous display of customer service and an unethical way to treat others in the decision making process to determine who is at fault in an accident.

Why the two stars?: The website that I worked with was fairly well designed and the representative I spoke with was respectful and cordial. Why not more stars?: The advertisement, the website, and the system was designed in a way that I was given a lower quote at first, and I went ahead and purchased it. Later on (after a month), they emailed me that they have to double my rate and they told me all kinds of lies why they had to do it. This is a psychological trick, get someone to invest in you (their time, money, thoughts), and they are more likely not to walk away. I think two stars is fair for State Farm. They are slow and use psychological manipulations for their business.

State Farm refused to honor my insurance even with state police verifying that it was not my fault. I was forced to hire a lawyer and the day I did State Farm paid. However a lawyer should have been unnecessary. Full coverage and I did not even get the price of a 4 month old car back and that includes injuries. State Farm is a joke. ALLSTATE is the way to go.

Wow. I tried to leave the stars blank but could not. The magnitude of my nightmare of dealing with State Farm is far too overwhelming for me to discuss all here. But the theft in the form of overcharging in billing with no explanation and other illegal ways, extra fees that no one will explain but demand you pay or the being asked to lie about a certain situation, being asked not to tell that certain things were said or done, the constant harassment, the "No" customer service with "employees" who should remember they are just "employees" whose services are not needed without customers. These ungrateful employees should remain in their "employee" place and remember I pay their salaries, along with other loyal customers.

Unfortunately, the law mandates drivers maintain at least minimum coverage to operate a motor vehicle on roadways, and since I have heard horror stories about other companies, though not nearly as horrible as my story, I am here. We are forced to have insurance to drive legally, and this is the only company I know and have been with since I could drive. This is all the more reason why their fraudulent and other behavior and underhanded illegal tactics are unacceptable. What's more, I was assaulted by someone driving the State Farm DOTD vehicle today. I am resolved what to do. Comment with suggestions if you like. This company has oppressed me so much, but I have tried to remain loyal as it is a "family thing". I have the right to expect proper treatment from a company and employees whose salaries I pay.

I called and asked about the claim and they said, "No problem, the other company can take over once you have the police report. Get the police report and then they won’t let other company take over." Half of my questions have to be answered by agent and half by claims. Claims mostly unhelpful. One was super nice but I never heard back from her. So, now I have a claim I can’t get rid of. I have to pay a deductible and rental even though Travelers has accepted full responsibility. I am convinced State Farm has changed for the worse. I’ve mostly had them since I was 16. All of these people ran into me. I didn't run into them. I gave State Farm thousands of dollars over the years and now it's gone. Over the years when someone asked me what car insurance company to go with I always said State Farm. Now this is how State Farm repays my loyalty. I’ve been a loyal customer for over 2 decades and I’ve never had to file for a collision. Think about how many thousands of dollars that is from a loyal customer. I’ve used State Farm for car, renter’s, and life insurance. But unfortunately I had to file my first claim last month. So at long last I can see how they really operate. And it’s very, very disappointing, My car was in the shop for a solid month because State Farm couldn’t get its act together to approve the shop’s estimates. I had to rent a car during this process and rented from Hertz on the recommendation of State Farm. I was assured the entire time that the allowance for car rentals was generous, more than enough to cover the time in the shop. What I wasn’t told was that State Farm would drag its feet at every opportunity, ultimately taking so long that I went about a week over my rental allowance.

I paid for the overage without question but when I contacted customer service to see if I could get reimbursed, rather than working with me on it, rather than apologizing or even making a case for why they couldn’t do it, they were patronizing, demeaning, and disrespectful. All these years of good will and customer loyalty were destroyed in a few minutes by a single customer service rep. In the end, they wouldn’t budge, and now I’m out the additional cost that they themselves incurred by short staffing their adjustment department. For the last two decades I would have recommended State Farm in a heartbeat, without qualification. But at this point, I would say keep searching. You can find better.

I have been a loyal customer of State Farm's since I acquired my drivers license 15 years ago. I have never had to file a claim with them until recently, when I was rear ended by an uninsured driver, and my newly financed car was severely damaged. This was a time when I needed my insurance company (whom I had never needed up to this point) to step up and have my back. I am sad to report that none of them did so. I have gone all the way up to the CEO of State Farm with zero sense of customer service. My hope was that they would work with me to find a solution, but I received no help, much lack any sense of loyalty to a loyal customer.

The mess that I am now in will leave me in substantial financial trouble for the foreseeable future. I urge you as a potential consumer to find a different insurance provider. God forbid you find yourself in a time where your only hope is your insurance company, you want to be able to depend on them. This company will not so much as lend a helping hand in finding a solution. I worked with a lady named Allie in the claims department of their Bloomington, Illinois office. She was rude, condescending, and had zero customer service. My hope in writing this review is that you, as a potential customer, will never have to place your hopes in someone like Allie, who has no interest in providing help.

Prior to my talk with Allie, State Farm provided me with a declarations page stating that my newly acquired vehicle was insured at the time of the accident. Allie informed me that they would be retroactively changing the time on this document to indicate that my vehicle was not insured and they weren't obligated to provide coverage for me. While this does not sound legal to me, they ended the conversation saying that there was nothing further they could help me with. My hope is that you do not ever find yourself in a situation similar to mine. I urge you to find a different insurance provider who will be there for you in your time of need. My situation is proof that State Farm will not provide that for you.

Ok so we have been with this insurance company for over a year and have had one issue after another with them since day one. 1. When we first had the insurance added to my mother's policy it seemed like everything went well until they tried to tell us we didnt pay the add on fee which we did and had a bank statement to show we did but they swore we didnt. So according to them because we refused to pay the add on fee twice we have somehow been "behind for almost a month" since we got the insurance or so they keep saying. So we finally just paid in full what they claim we owed them at the time since it was like 60 damn dollars they kept saying we was behind.

After that we made our payment on time every month but somehow about 3 months ago they claimed we was once again behind and we have argued with them every month trying to figure out how exactly they kept saying we was behind but nobody ever seemed to have an answer. Ok so fast forward to about a month and half ago we decided to get a new suv and we called to have our regular insurance switched over to our new Durango but had to switch to full coverage. The lady we spoke to told us all we had to do was pay our monthly payment and that she would switch it over. Ok simple enough. But maybe two weeks later we was being told that we once again owed more than we were told we had to pay for the full coverage so we spoke to several different people trying to figure this out and it was said that we was supposed to pay more than our monthly bill to have the insurance switched over.

Wouldnt have been an issue had she told us this when we switched the insurance over in the first place. So once again somehow we owe more than what we was told we would be paying and all because now we're apparently behind again because we only paid what the lady told us we had to pay...and as if all that isnt bad enough dealing with this company we get a letter in the mail ( remember we have full coverage now ) stating that in a few months our emergency roadside assistance will be discontinued due to "The frequency of our roadside emergency claims" on these dates.

    11-2-2019
    4-27-2019
    2-12-2019
    2-6-2019
    1-25-2019
    12-18-2017

    8-7-2017

The main issue with this and these dates is that we DID NOT even have insurance with them in 2017 at all and we did not have the truck that we had insured through them in 2017...and more importantly the insurance was in my daughter's name and she didnt even have her license in 2017...so my thing is and my issue is this.

    1. We pay for roadside assistance in order to have it in the event our vehicle breaks down and we was never once told we could only allow our truck to break down so many times and if it broke down more than they cared for it to then that means they can just discontinue our service.

    2. We now have full coverage insurance meaning we pay a bit more for one and we would expect that with full coverage insurance that roadside would definitely be a part of that. I've never had full coverage insurance with any company and not had roadside assistance.

So needless to say I believe we have been more than patient with this corrupt ** company and been ripped off enough and we will be finding another insurance company and they can take their overpricing overcharging no roadside assistance with full coverage and get lost...I would never recommend anyone to this company and will never use them again.

I did not call to make a claim; I called to get information in case I decided to make a claim. My car was scraped in a parking lot and I didn’t know it until I saw the passenger side of the car. I wanted to know how a claim would be made in case I decided to do so, and who the preferred body repair shops are and how they work. The claims agent said that she would send me a list of their vendors and explained the process.

The next thing I knew there had been a claim filed, which was definitely not what I requested. Subsequently, that same day, January 22, I received eight emails and six phone messages from State Farm. I was being harassed. I had only requested one email, and that was the list of preferred auto body vendors. I called my agent on January 23 and told his assistant that I did not file a claim. She stated this would be a problem because it was already filed. I was very angry because I NEVER FILED A CLAIM. How can a company stay in business when they operate in such a disgusting manner? When I spoke to Todd **, I told him that I did not care to remain with State Farm if this is the manner in which they operate.

The following day, Friday, the harassment continued. I received a text in the middle of my workday and five more emails. I called my agent and he was in the office but he was “busy”. I asked for a return call and it is now six days later and I still haven’t received a call. I did go to Gold Coast auto body and the damage was so minimal that they didn’t charge anything to buff it out. Now I just looked on my insurance page and there is the claim that that I told at least five State Farm associates that I never requested. This company is beyond disgusting. I am hoping that I can change insurance companies before the due date because I don’t care to deal with them for another day.

I had a minor accident with a state farm insurer, where their insured backed into me. When I called about getting my truck repaired, only $300-400, I got tangled up with the rudest lady ever. She asked me if her clients car was a stick shift, I told her I wasn't driving her customers car. She said it's pretty flat in Arizona, not a lot of hills. She said from google earth that it doesn't show a hill at the intersection. And it went downhill form there. I really thought that State Farm was better than this, they certainly spend a lot on advertising. I have been with American Family for 20 plus years and had one claim, I would never leave them, best customer service ever. Shame on you State Farm. Now I will just take you insured client to small claims for a claim you should have covered.

I have been a loyal customer for 17 years. In September of 2019 I am struck by a young lady at 70mph without hitting her brakes while I was stopped to turn left. The accident was not my fault. I had injuries and my PIP was ate up with hospital bills. Since Florida is a “no fault” state with PIP you are forced to file for injuries first under your own insurance and then the remaining over 10,000 rolls onto the other parties insurance. I am over 50 never an accident and 2 tickets in my twenties for speeding.

Over the 17 years with State Farm I estimated that my wife and I had paid them over $23,000.00 without a claim once ten years ago for a windshield. My bill was always $130 a month and higher depending on the newness of the vehicle. Get this, a new bill came for $275 for a month and I was told that the new rate is because of the accident. The accident I was not at fault for. The accident that law enforcement charges the other driver with. That they have to compensate for the $10k they paid out. Funny so over 17 years paying $23,000 to them. They have to compensate. Went to Geico and got insurance for $149.00 a month. DO NOT TRUST STATE FARM!!!

Our insurance company got through the process in 2 weeks, while State Farm took 4 months to process the other totaled vehicle. So we also had to wait the 4 months before the claim was paid out. Glad we have Bear River and not State Farm insurance. They are a large bureaucracy where no one person is in charge of handling a claim, it just goes from department to department which is super inefficient.

State Farm sucks, especially when you tried to file a claim against them. The accident happened on November 2019, when I turned left to College Point Blvd when it is green light. State Farm's customer pulled out his car from the parking space on college point blvd and hitted my car on the right hand side doors. State Farm customer also hitted the car that was parking in front of him. I had been calling state farm so many time in the first 2 weeks, the answer they gave to me is they couldn't reach the insurer and they will sent out a final notice to the insurer, if the insurer didn't response back by Dec 31,2019, they will close the claim and get an estimate to fix my car.

I called state farm back on January 2, 2020, they told me they denied the claim because of my unsafe left turn. I was like wtf, what does unsafe left turn mean? Did I run red light, or did I make improper left turn when there is ongoing car? It is one way, green light, all cars are either turning left or right into College Point Blvd. The car who was pulling out from the parking space should have aware of oncoming cars. The adjuster couldn't answer me, she said she will have to contact insurer for more info. This is all **. I will hire an attorney to fight for it no matter how much I will have to pay to that attorney. This is so ridiculous. Never ever use state farm.

After being with Allstate for 20 years, I decided once they had a rate increase again to shop around. I spoke with Toni in the office who gave me a rate 100 less a month than I was paying with Allstate. YAY! WRONG! After discovering a mistake on my MVR, I provided an official driving record per their request the very next day. Heard nothing about it again until my loan company sent me a notice 4 weeks later, saying my insurance was going to cancel on December 30. I called the Joan Landry office and spoke with Jana who claimed she emailed, called and texted to let me know of the issue. None of which happened. The only emails, text or calls I received were about an uninsured motorist letter I needed to return signed. From someone else in the office. After explaining that I sent in the official driving record, she wasn't even aware that I had already sent the Driving record. She would then send it off to underwriting and be in touch.

A week later...on the day my policy is set to cancel, Jana calls to tell me that they wont accept the official driving record. That I need to go to the DMV but couldn't tell me what documentation they needed. The DMV explained how to read the driving record and gave me a clearance letter for a ticket that was paid. However, the issue on the MVR states that my driver's license had been suspended suspended. The driving record clearly shows my driver's license was never suspended. The DMV can not provide me with a clearance letter for something that never happened. They wanted to switch me to a different policy that cost 200.00 more a month than what I was originally quoted 2 months before. Be aware that these issues happen. My case is not unique.

What is unfortunate is that the office at the State Farm agent in Denham Springs, La asked a customer to provide a driving record and didn't know how to read it. Asked the customer to go back to the DMV on a work day... on a wild goose chase. No explanation on what to get from them. My biggest regret was believing that state farm was a reputable company that works for their customers. In my case, a clear mistake is in the reporting system. It's obvious. A dropped ball at the agent's office left me scrambling to find insurance before my policy canceled at Midnight. I'd like to also point out that not once was I apologized to. Treating people like this is wrong. It is my honest opinion that the Agent's office is at fault for this entire mix up. How it was handled was completely unprofessional.

Sadly I had a little fender bender insured with State Farm and the experience getting it fixed to Range Rover standard has been stressful and I’m left with a bill of over $4000! My recommendation is do your research and insure with an insurance company who will replace parts for OEM not second hand (I have paperwork to prove it) or aftermarket parts. To retain the value and warranties on the car you really need your insurance company to work with a Registered Range Rover Dealer so I would recommend before rushing to insure call these dealers (easily located on Land Rover website) and ask their opinion who do they have the least issues with? Trust me it’s worth the time at the beginning or you will pay at the end! Any European or high value car I would highly recommend you take these steps or you will pay in the end!

I was rear ended and also hit from the passenger side. State Farm has been completely disrespectful. It took over 2 months for me to speak with Kevin about property damages to get the runaround and nothing resolved. I finally chatted online and got things as a tow car and rental and chose state farm's selective services Gerber Collision in Greenville NC to not get one call about damages done to the vehicle and to find out they don't do mechanical or electrical work. And day of picking vehicle up female purposely slammed on brakes knowing that that was the issue. Vehicle was towed and still not fixed.

I'm very unsatisfied how state farm has handled this being I'm not the at fault driver. Gerber collision lost the original key and never once made anyone aware of that replaced glass in car that had nothing to do with collision. The day I picked vehicle up once again that was on Dec 10th that's when I first saw adjuster taking pictures after several months and yet still nothing is resolved. I had a vehicle inspection at Mr. Tire 10/3/19 and made gentleman aware that car was rear ended and hit from passenger side. The day of the inspection he told me brakes and tires were wore down due to collision. Brakes started scrubbing Oct 29th 2019 but wasn't much I could do with state farm constantly given me the runaround.

Me and my daughter are still under Doctor's care and now are required to wear glasses due to severe bk injuries and myself I have to wear bifocals. I feel as if my injuries haven't gotten any better because of all the stress, disrespect from state farm. The vehicle has had 3 estimates and yet still vehicle is UNDRIVABLE. How is it my responsibility when brakes, electrical issues were working properly until collision took place? So why should I be responsible to fix something that the at fault driver caused? Police report clearly stated 3,000 dollars in damages done to vehicle. I feel as if state farm paid Gerber collision over a thousand dollars for nothing because bumper is fixed but smudges from collision are still present on brake lights and none of this was going on before Sept 1st.

I have had State Farm insurance for over 10 years but recently having to work them has been an absolutely terrible experience. My 2017 Subaru Impreza had electric damage due to a rodent chewing on the wires. The dealership recommended to replace the entire wire harness (standard practice according to my best friend who works in a car garage and also according to many sources online). State Farm Adjuster only wanted to solder the damaged wires to save about $400. I appealed the decision and was told to get a letter from Subaru. I did this and State Farm still refused to pay a few hundred more to repair the car to Manufacturer Recommendations.

I have had to deal with rude representatives (I asked to talk to one agent's manager and he said that "he did not have a manager" and never documented our full conversation to cover himself), constant delays (State Farm representatives would continuously not call me back when they said they would). I eventually escalated this to a "Team Manager" in Pittsburgh (Denise Chandler) and she left early and gave the case to someone else. The representative (Employee ID: FEI9) blamed me for the delays as I appealed the decision and would not compromise in any way. I have now spent more money they would have saved on rental cars due to the delays. My car has not been repaired in over 2 weeks (my fault according to State Farm). I am now paying for the repairs myself to end this nightmare.

    In summary:

    - State Farm has TERRIBLE representatives in the auto claim department (good luck if you need electrical damage repaired).
    - State Farm does not have your interests at heart and would like to save a few hundred even when it makes no sense.
    - State Farm will not take any ownership of their faults and blame you (that's a poor corporate culture-issue).

    - Local agents may try to help you but have no real power over any claims and just sell a product.

I have never had such a poor experience. I am writing this review as a warning because I wouldn't want anyone else to go through what I did.

They hide behind their two apps and “policy” by which no one is responsible. It is no one’s responsibility to follow up with the customer. They send out an adjuster who takes a few cell phone photos and sends you a check for a fraction of what a repair of the vehicle will actually cost. This is State Farm in 2019. It's good if you have a Yugo but please don’t bother expecting any customer service or accountability. Do not expect State Farm to fix a moderately expensive car. What ensued was a series of dysfunctional conversations in which circular logic and statements followed by denials leave me with no resolution. They added a less-valuable model to my car's comps, with the numbers there in black and white, and claimed it raised the average value! How does one deal with that type of denial and bullying? My car was rear ended. Simple case with no question as to who was at fault. State Farm told me to go to the other insurer for payment which was almost hopeless. An attorney told me State Farm was required to use my collision coverage if I wanted that and State Farm made that as hard as possible. Wanted me to go to collision shops that were not highly rated and made it as difficult as possible to confirm mine. They have been interested in taking my money for 30 years but did everything they could to avoid honoring their end of the bargain. I am still not clear what they will pay out as they continue to delay. Shockingly bad and dishonest way to deal with a client they have had for decades. Another attorney told me they were one of the more mediocre of the insurance companies. Buyer beware.

State Farm had to figure out a way to deny the claim because they couldn't go after the other driver's insurance. Their solution was to assign 50% blame to me in order to avoid paying. I was backed into in a parking lot. Their adjuster Jerah ** and her manager Bob ** was absolutely terrible. They represent everything that is wrong with State Farm. He hired a STATE FARM insurance to put everything under security. My house, my cars, my life insurance, my business and Dayton suffered a natural disaster of 20 tornadoes in the area. Near my business 2, only one less than 1/4 mile from the business. Burrito King has contracts with companies that in 2014 put new lights on the roof to illuminate the parking lot, new roof, aluminum roof tiles to make it look more nice. The front windows are not new, but they are in good condition, with their care so that the light enters, the heat of the heater does not come out, so that the air conditioning is efficient and, even so, I do not accept to respond to my claim of Loss due to damage caused by natural disasters (20 tornadoes). Remained and said no, and I had to seek legal help to prove that I have damages. Accused me that the business was old, that it had no maintenance.

Sent to a engineer to check that the tornado had not compromised in its foundation. The engineer at the first time He presented his report said that the glass frame that is made of wood was maintenance-free and was old. To which I had to contact the insurer and tell him, "Hey what kind of report it is, I don't have any wooden frame," and they sent it FOR 2 times and then I got even more angry because the Architect who works with burrito king said and gave proof of I was wrong. Well, now it only covers a glass and not 3 like the first time, so I can't trust State Farm if something happens with my car. Well, that's another one with my cars happened and I also need a lawyer.

Now if my husband or I die, I leave a big problem and not a help like the one I thought I paid monthly. Why do I pay for something that doesn't work? Like my business. Like my cars. Like my life / if they say it doesn't work. It does not work. AND I NEED AN INSURANCE THAT ALLOWS ME TO SLEEP WITH CONFIDENCE THAT WHAT HAPPENS, MY HERITAGE IS PROTECTED.

I was in a motor vehicle accident in which I was rear ended and found not to be at fault in the least. Therefore, I needed to submit my medical bills to the car insurance of the person who hit me in order to be reimbursed. Being rear ended, having your car totaled, and suffering in pain caused by this accident was enough to deal with. Little did I know that dealing with State Farm would be the even bigger headache. My accident occurred in March of 2019. It is now September, and I have yet to receive assistance from State Farm. I was told the name of my Claims Specialist but have not been able to reach her. I'm not convinced she is a real person! Haha I have submitted my medical bills through email five times per bill, faxed them five times each, and have now sent them in the mail. Each time I sent the bills I called to confirm they were received.

I would speak with one Claims Specialist (not the one assigned to my case) who would say it was received. I would call at a later date to hear that the next person I spoke with did not see the bills in my account. I'm convinced that State Farm does not want to receive my bills and is discarding them in order to avoid having to pay them. I even sent a request for my medical information to be released to them and had myself doctor's office send them my bills. Yet still State Farm claims that they have not received any of my bills! Dealing with State Farm has truly been a headache when care and helpfulness are needed in this difficult time. I would not recommend State Farm to anyone. Of note, I work in the medical field and have vast amounts of knowledge of how the system works. I could not imagine how much more difficult this process would be if I didn't have this knowledge ahead of time.

The other driver's insurance will ultimately cover costs, but I needed a rental car asap and thought that my insurance company would be looking out for me. Thought wrong. Rare car, hard to find comps. Rather than take the 4 comps I found online for sale at dealers for consideration (too far - did I say rare?) they found one closer by (131 mi.) in another state. CRAIGSLIST. $2,000 below legitimate listings on internet auto sites. I provided 4 comps at the higher price scattered across the country. 4. They didn't give any credence to these whatsoever. If you are considering State Farm for insurance - keep in mind that the rates are not the whole story. Oh, and if you have a question or challenge what they are presenting - prepare to be deflected. It's a good thing I have common sense and a thought process. I've never done business with State Farm for home or auto insurance. The thought never crossed my mind and following my experience with State Farm the other day, I will never think about doing business with them. I was the victim of a hit and run incident the other day. Someone was driving reckless behind me. I could see this person weaving in and out of lanes, putting a lot of innocent bystanders at risk. The person crossed the solid lines into on-coming traffic, swerved back and forth, hit my driver side mirror, cut in front of me and floored it once they realized they hit my vehicle.

I chased the subject while on the phone with 911. They were trying so hard to get away. I was able to corner them and prevent them from leaving while I waited for the cops. The LAPD was a joke. They had the nerve to tell me they can't do anything if THEY didn't witness it. That's definitely not the law! That's like saying they can't do anything about any crime unless they witness it... that's definitely not true!

I had to explain to them that my truck has 12 cameras that record non-stop 24/7 and backup to a remote hard drive at my house every 60 seconds and that system backs up to a remote hard drive at my office in San Francisco. When I got home, I filed the claim with State Farm. I emailed a summary of what happened and uploaded the video of their customer's reckless and negligent driving.

The following day, I received a phone call from some uneducated person at State Farm. She was so ignorant! She had the nerve to argue with me about the accident and obviously never bothered watching the video. Within minutes, I was fed up with her ignorance, I pretty much told her off, told her to never contact me again and to deal with my insurance (Geico) and lawyers. I contacted my insurance and went ahead and filed the claim with them. They're taking care of it now. A Geico rep contacted me and said he received the video and that it's ridiculous and unbelievable that State Farm had the nerve to argue this. The video clearly shows their customer breaking numerous laws driving reckless, side swiping my vehicle and trying to get away.

We have talked to State Farm multiple times with them claiming they don't have the claim or the outside vendor is disputing the labor rate. This is a claim for two wiring harnesses that a rodent chewed thru. It has to be taken care of by someone who works on electrical. Our dealer is asking for $100/hr. for labor and ASI, the outside vendor for State Farm, says they should only get $40/hr. Every time we talk to a State Farm claims representative, they say they can't do anything until the claim is approved.

We took the car in on August 20th because a light went on saying there was a problem. Since the car is still under warranty, we took it to the dealer. They found the problem with the wiring. That was on the 21st of August & we filed a claim. It is now the 14th of Sept. and we still don't have our car. We have tried to speak to a supervisor at the State Farm claims dept. but haven't been able to get thru. We are beyond frustrated. And the saga goes on!

Used parts in the steering component of a 6 thousand pound vehicle. But they said they guarantee it.

This year I was involved in an accident in which I was cited a ticket for failure to control my vehicle due to an abrupt construction zone on a freeway off ramp that led to me hitting someone from behind. There were no injuries and minimal damage to the other vehicle. My vehicle, however was totaled due to front end damage. Literally, 2 months after the claim was paid, State Farm informed me that they would not renew coverage on any of my 3 vehicles, citing “too many claims”, all of which were roadside assistance claims for minor issues like flat tires, battery issues, etc.

I have 2 college age kids driving as well with good records and they cancelled them as well. My agent was in the process of retiring and confirmed that he was appalled with State Farm’s recent policies and treatment of long term customers with good records. That said, I cancelled ALL of my policies only to realize that I was significantly over paying for coverage all along. This agent recently retired and his office staff did not remain employed by State Farm. I was transferred to another insurance agent. I expected I would get the same level of service. I was completely wrong and now I am in the market for either changing my auto and home insurance coverage to another insurance company altogether or changing my agent.

I believe that the satisfaction of repeat customers is very important and it determines if a business remains successful. Ever since being with this new insurance agent and office. I have become very dissatisfied. I didn’t mind paying a bit more for insurance because when I had an issue or change in my insurance. My previous insurance agent and his staff made any insurance issue/change that I had a seamless process in resolving. This is not the case now.

We had an accident in our vehicle which though it was our fault we needed to pay the deductible to get the side passenger light replaced. We asked first if we could waive the deductible, expecting them to say no, but not expecting them them to say to to us paying half and the balance the next month, or to make monthly payments.

Ok, the answer is no but this clerk didn't even put me on hold to ask a superior. It was just no as if it comes from her pocket. They apparently changed employees because I don't remember being treated so cold. It seems that we pay and pay and pay but are never allowed to experience any benefits. The policy goes up but we never get anything out. Also, if the people they support do not support me as a ** person, why in the hell do I have to continue supporting them? How do I know that the reason that clerk didn't try to help me or not was because she supports someone who hates me. We are actively seeking another policy. One that supports me.

I immediately notified State Farm and automatically felt a sense of relief. Everyone I spoke with helped me with my claim, the repair of my car and rental. My State Farm agent's office called to make sure everything was going well with my claim, you get what you pay for. State Farm's rates may be a little higher than other companies but is well worth it for a peace of mind. Belinda **. Chicago, IL.

That being said, I have never made a claim, so I don’t know how to rate them on that aspect (is in regards to my car insurance). I did try to make a claim once on my homeowner’s policy regarding a large water leak in my basement, which was declined. I’ve tried to find other insurance companies that are less expensive than my State Farm policy is, but with little luck.

State Farm is one of the most difficult and underhanded to deal with as testified by several body shops I went to. State Farm insists on sending you to one of their in system repair shops for a tear down inspection. They will take weeks to inspect the car and give a very low estimate on poor quality repair. You cannot take your car to another of their estimators after this and if you want to take your car to a better shop of your own choice you'll have to pay to have it reassembled. The shop has effectively captured your car. If they do the work, SURPRISE, THEY'LL FIND THAT EXTRA WORK NEEDS TO BE DONE. Expensive work AT YOUR EXPENSE. And State Farm won't pay for it after the estimate has been turned in.

If you want to have your own body shop do the job you'll have to go in for a visual inspection and you'll get a very low ball price on a quicky Bondo patch up, even if body parts need to be replaced. THAT'S FINAL, NO OTHER ESTIMATES ALLOWED TO BE TAKEN.!!! You're now stuck with a low pay off even if your won body shop finds it will cost four times as much. Beware! Their word is FINAL on all matters.

We have had car insurance with Allison Taylor of Cincinnati for 30 years. My wife had an accident last year. The damage to our car was very small. The other vehicle lost part of his bumper when he hit my wife at the left rear wheel. As a result we had to pay $250 deductible for our vehicle repair. We then got a bill for over 2 hundred dollars for the repair of the other vehicle. We were notified that our insurance was going to be raised by over $50. We did not have that in the bank and my wife drove to her office and updated a check to be cashed after the first of the month. She didn't wait but submitted the check and we incurred a cost of $35 overdraft.

Taylor showed her disdain for us by calling my wife and thumbing her nose at her and said she was not going to refund the $35 even though she cashed it after being told we needed to wait for funds to cover it. We also had home owner insurance for 20 years that paid them over $20,000. And had no claims against it. So in my opinion Allison Taylor is a piece of **. And State Farm is not one to be trusted.

Summary: Still trying to resolve a fender bender claim. Four months after the incident. State Farm has been uncooperative and unresponsive. Details: Rear ended by a State Farm insured on Apr 27, 2019 while refueling my car. My car was turned off. Husband was pumping gas. I was in the front passenger seat. The other party did not want to report the incident to police. I insisted. Police arrived and wrote an incident report. State Farm insured was solely at fault. After weeks of no action by State Farm, I filed with my insurance company and had the repair done.

As of today, the claim is in subrogation. State Farm does not want to reimburse USAA for the full amount. I fronted the cost of a rental car (not covered by my policy) and filed directly with State Farm for that expense. State Farm reduced the payment by 85% without any explanation for the reduction. They also included correspondence informing me that I could take the car to the place of my choice for repair or call them for recommendations for a repair place even though they knew the claim was in subrogation, which makes no sense. As of today, I have been informed that USAA is taking State Farm to arbitration which will take several months. I doubt that I will ever receive rental car reimbursement —I am, therefore, out $741.

The claims adjuster assured me that I wouldn’t have any trouble getting my vehicle repaired. Well today I was contacted and informed that State Farm would not authorize the repairs to my vehicle because the adjuster didn’t believe that my vehicle was damaged due to the accident and I would have to pick up my vehicle and return the rental vehicle provided to me.

I contacted the police department and got the incident report and you can clearly see from the incident report that my vehicle was struck in the area where the damage was indicated. I was told that I would have to pick up my vehicle and have another place inspect my vehicle to state that the damage was caused during the accident and I would be responsible for paying for it out of pocket. I was involved in an accident about 2 weeks ago. I was making a left turn off a busy road with a left turn green arrow and a car that was stopped in front of me. As we made our left turns, the opposing traffic had a red light. A young lady in a brand new car attempted to slow down to their red light, but had brake issues. She then slammed into me (around 25 or 30 mph) while I was making my turn. The first two things she says to me after we pulled off the road were "Don’t worry, my brother's a cop in ** town" (where the accident happened), and "It's my fault, my brakes aren't working". She admitted fault to the police when they arrived, echoed my story of the red light, and again mentioned her brother. I obtained the police report, which also echoed my story (AND HERS!) which was forwarded to her insurer (STATE FARM). After waiting several weeks for resolution, State Farm tells me that they are finding me at 85% fault and her at 15%!!

According to them, she changed her story and stated that she had a green light and I had a red light (Impossible as there was not only the car in front of me that was waiting for our green arrow, but there were people in the other two opposing lanes waiting at their red light NEXT TO HER!). I asked how they made the determination that not only did I lie, but that she lied, and the police report lied about her running a red light. The claims person stated that "We take police reports with a grain of salt" and that they also "take statements made at the scene with a grain of salt". State Farm will be getting a nice letter from my personal attorney who works for free (my brother) who also arrived at the scene as the police did and ALSO heard her admit fault.

The State Farm driver lied and said she made a complete turn and she hit me. How did you hit me on my REAR tire if you made a complete turn while I traveled on a straight line on midlane on a green light? Explain that to me! She didn't make a complete turn. She plowed thru the red light while making a right turn without checking her surrounding. She didn't have a right of way, she hit me almost T-Boning my car. I was hit by a State Farm customer, and I filed a claim that day. Over a week went by no contact from them so I had to call to ask if they were going to address my claim. They then took a recorded statement from me and said they would be in touch. Then several more weeks went by with no contact so I called for an update. They said liability was still pending. I called again after a month passed and again they said liability was still pending. Then a few hours later they called to tell me I am 50% at fault. I asked what investigation had been done to come to this outcome? I asked if they obtained the video footage of the accident? They said they were unaware there were cameras. I reminded them that I said in my recorded statement that there were. She went to my statement and verified it. Then (now weeks have passed) she calls the establishment while I’m on hold and comes back to me and said there’s no footage of the accident.

I asked why no one had looked into this prior to a liability decision? I asked if anyone inspected the scene? She then pulls up the parking lot map and I describe where both vehicles were parked, and that the physical damages support what I said happened. She disagreed. When I tried to dispute this with the claims supervisor, he was dismissive and refused to let me speak with anyone else regarding the matter. He said his decision is final and denied my repeated attempts to resolve the situation with anyone besides him. I stated that it is my right to speak with his superior and discuss this further. Over and over he told me that I must accept his decision and that he would not be providing me the name or number of anyone else to speak with regarding the claim.

This is not a word versus word claim. The physical evidence supports that my damages could not have occurred with my vehicle out of the stall. My foot is on the brake, I place my car in reverse, I turn my head and boom, I’m hit. I had not moved out of my parking stall, and where their insured was parked I couldn’t have moved or the damages couldn’t be where they are on both cars based on where we were both parked. There’s not enough room- which they would know if they actually did an investigation.

Our vehicle was damaged by a tow truck company that pulled our vehicle out of a ditch that was caused by the flooding a couple of weeks ago. The vehicle was at high center so the first tow truck that came said it would take a 'boom' tow truck so that's what we called for. Then he said he needed backup tow to get the car out without damage so he waited. It was very hot outside, humid so the tow driver became impatient so he went over and pulled our car out by DRAGGING it causing undercarriage damage that also pushed the radiator too far back.

We took the car to the place we bought it in Shawnee and obtained an estimate that was over $2,800 to keep the car in warranty. State Farm had us take the car to the State Farm estimator that did a SHABBY job of estimating the cost of the parts and did NOT include the labor to fix these parts. He didn't look up the parts from the part numbers but guessed at the parts and their costs. Example is that he called the Inter-cooler Hose a Radiator HOSE!!! The Radiator Hose only costing $24.00 when in reality the hose was is an Inter Cooler Hose that costs $200 with tax when you buy from the dealership!!!

I attempted repeatedly to convey this concern to State Farm Customer Service only to get the 'run around'!!! One ** girl just hung up on me. Don't expect any real help with your car. Based on the agent's recommendation, we opted for State Farm Roadside Assistance instead of AAA. BIG MISTAKE!!! My 21-year-old daughter hit a road hazard resulting in two flat tires. She called roadside assistance to get a tow to a service station to replace the tires. When the first tow truck driver arrived, he refused to tow her because in his opinion there was damage to the car and his contract with State Farm did not include collision calls - only roadside assistance calls. He left her stranded in a sketchy neighborhood in Knoxville. The State Farm agent refused to authorize a tow unless she opened an unnecessary collision claim. She was stranded and scared so, even though I paid out of pocket for the two tires, two rims and alignment, she now has an at-fault collision claim on her record.

If you have State Farm Auto DO NOT GET THEIR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE COVERAGE. In five years, we called 3 times for dead battery and 1 time for lockout. It always took at least 3 hours for help to arrive. In 3 of the 4 instances I resolved the problem before help arrived. While the first tow truck arrived within an hour when my daughter had her blow-out, she was still stranded for close to three hours because the tow truck driver would not assist her.

Luckily I do not have State Farm for any of my insurance policies and after my bad experience with this company I never will nor will I recommend them to any of my friends and family. I recently was involved in a fender bender in which a State Farm insured motorist side swiped my car. I called the claims dept and from the beginning they were completely clueless wasting hours of my valuable time. I agreed to go to one of their approved shops (Manderbach Ford) for the repairs but they could not coordinate a rental call on numerous occasions. I explained the rental needed to be there when I dropped off the car in the morning as I had to go to work and was unable to take time off to deal with this situation. I was told this past Monday that Manderbach Ford would be providing a loaner car and all I had to do was arrive at the dealership, drop off my car and the loaner would be ready and I could go to work.

When I arrived at the dealership there was no loaner and Manderbach Ford had no idea they were suppose to provide a loaner. At this point State Farm was calling Hertz rental who would have taken an hour to arrive then another hour to drive me to their location in Berks County then another hour to drive to my work location. It was at this point, I told them to just send me a check and I would deal with the repairs myself since they were so incompetent in doing so. Immediately after instructing them to send me a check, I received another call from a claims agent and then Hertz rental telling me to wait for the car after I had already articulated I had to go to work and could no longer wait.

Now I am being charged a return fee for the minimal parts that Manderbach Ford ordered (they have no clue what that charge will be as I suspect they are making it up). I have to cover the costs of transportation while my car is being fixed and I have lost hours of work time and have had to deal with an unnecessary amount of stress. When I asked the claims department for the number of the complaint line I was told there was no number to make complaints. How convenient! I can only hope someone reads this post and takes their business to a more reputable company that actually cares about their clients. I will also not recommend Manderbach Ford as they were also less than helpful. I did nothing wrong and if having to deal with this situation is not bad enough and now have to content with an incompetent insurance company.

I was involved in an accident by someone covered by State Farm. While being rushed to a trans 1 hospital facility the driver ran a red light and hit the ambulance I was being transported in. I received 2 checks for the amount state farm State quoted. State farm stopped payment on one of the checks around 2 to 3 weeks after I cashed it. They never once sent me anything about not cashing the checks and the one that payment was stopped on I waited 5 business days before I cashed it. Now I am facing a criminal charge for cashing a bad check. I have been dealing with this for over a year now.

Pretty amazing that State Farm has a commercial on broadcast television showing that keeping your discount is more important than keeping your pregnant wife safe with having a baby. So the commercial indicates a woman in labor and the husband's wanting to get her to the hospital and she screaming stressed out don't mess with my discount. So State Farm is teaching you that your baby's life is not as important as your discount. How messed up is that? I have been with State Farm for just a year now and about every month they send me letters threaten me that they're going to increase my rate for this reason or that I continuously have to fill out forms, it just drives me crazy. Is it worth it? I'm not sure. I've never had a claim filed so I guess it's all up in the air.

Years ago, I was in an accident (my fault) and I asked State Farm if filing a claim would affect my insurance, since if it would I figured I might just pay the damages myself instead. They assured me it wouldn't, so I had them cover the damages. Months later, about a month or so from returning from a deployment, I received an email from them, telling me they were dropping me completely, and that I had a couple weeks after I returned to find a new insurer. I do give them credit for at least giving me that time, hence the two stars, but to not only do that after telling me my insurance wouldn't be affected by the claim, not to mention while on deployment, was reprehensible.

And coming back, things are very busy, so a couple weeks, hardly enough time to fully research insurance options under the best of circumstances, just added to the stress of everything. They lost a customer for life due to that. In fact, even the SF agent back home disagreed with what they did, so much so that he offered to cover me against their policy, which is the only reason I would ever consider them again. I would only use SF if I went through a local agent that I knew very well and trusted. But otherwise (and even then), I have no intention of ever doing business with them again.

I think the worst insurance company in the World. I had auto payment prepaid. So I got better rate from other insurance company and I canceled in middle of the month. They told me I’ll get my refund for the rest of days in my credit card automatically. Days later I didn’t see any refund, so I called and they said they will mail me a check. Later on they said they don’t owe me any money!!!! But I only used 15 days of the month but I already paid the whole month (automatic prepaid from my credit card).

The agent was so arrogant, unprofessional rude and explained me something not relevant, not even notified me by email/mail or in any official form. Bottom line is that they are not giving me my money back because I canceled my auto insurance with them and steal my money without my consent. With lot of lie and cheat. Be careful. Never put auto payment, they’ll take all your money without your consent and will never give your money back if you cancel or if anything happen!!!!

I was at a red light stopped in the turning lane. A truck rear ended me. He immediately took responsibility and gave me his insurance information. The next day I received a call from State Farm confirming responsibility for the accident. I sustained a whiplash from the rear end collision. The adjuster continually told me to keep track of my bills and they would settle up with everything at the end. In December of last year the adjuster stated “Don’t worry. You have two years to make claims and again stated, "Just keep track of claims and we would settle up in the end." I trusted him. I assumed I was dealing with a reputable company that would stand behind what they said.

Seven months after the accident when I called to let them know I was going to a pain clinic and let them know the cost they immediately took a very defensive approach stating they would not be paying for that and that they would not pay the claims I had already incurred. Their initial offer was 15% of my medical bills. After going back and forth numerous times they finally came up with an offer to pay 35% of medical bills. I was driving a two month old brand new car. They did fix it and pay for a rental car. They would not however pay for any diminished value. I traded the car two months later and took a loss on my car.

They also stated they would not pay for any pain and suffering or for any future medical expenses. They use a “formula” for settlement based on the amount of damage to my car rather than the damage to me. I just don’t understand how a large company can offer to pay expenses and then start a “negotiation” (adjuster's words) with you when you try to get reimbursed for expenses you have incurred in an accident that wasn’t your fault.

I threatened to go to an attorney. They said that would be fine. They evidently have a large group of attorneys on retainer that deal with minimizing payment for claims. I have retained an attorney but do not like the fact that I’ve been put in this position. I only wanted to be reimbursed for expenses I had incurred. It’s just not right. It lacks integrity. Very disappointing.
