Was with State Farm for 18 years (policies included home, and 4-5 vehicles at various times), no claims ever filed on any policy. Roof was damaged in a large hail storm, and over the course of 4 years was verified by 3 roofers, one brought in by State Farm to insure no bias. Photos were taken showing all the damage, and the claim was denied. Shame on you State Farm!! You take people's hard earned money, do nothing for it, and find any reason you can possibly pull out of the thin air to deny their claim. Do not trust them like I did!!
I am now with Farmers's, using the same coverage only better than I had with State Farm and they saved me enough money to cover my Home Owner's Policy each year compared to what I was paying with State Farm!! Run from this company as fast as you can. Just Google State Farm Sucks and see how many people have been taken advantage of by this company. Even the industry ranks them as the top company to refuse to pay out claims.

I have had State Farm regrettably for a year now and up until this year I have had a problem with them increasing my payment every single month. They have also been drafting money from my account every month without my authorization... This is by far the very worse insurance company I've had in my life. The road side assistance is garbage. It takes 2 hours for someone to get to you and when they finally do they don't try to help you with simple things such as a boost. They're in a rush to get to their next dispatch to make money. Smh.

I'm really disappointed with State Farm. Since I got my policy every time it's my due date they raise my payment. I call my agency every time and every time there is something new. This last payment I pay more than I was supposed to because I didn't want to loose coverage. The person I spoke with told me that he was going to see what was going on. He told me he was calling me Monday (I spoke to him Saturday). I got the call Tuesday. He claim that State Farm put a form that I already sign that I didn't want it like 3 weeks ago. So that they put it anyways even tho I said no. So what is this game that they are playing with me. I absolutely will not recommend this agency and also State Farm. And also they are not going to recognize the money that I put extra in this payment.

First I was in a wreck with a State Farm customer, she was at fault. The tow company that State Farm sent took everything out of my vehicle. My accident was on June 6. I still have nothing settled. No one does anything until you call. There is no assigned agent to your claim. I don't think anyone even looks at it unless you call them. That really sucks. I have to run around to get everything they want and call them all the time for something that wasn't my fault. It have become a job!

I was taken to hospital during the day. Temperatures were very hot this day and I was looking for item in trunk of my car. I happened to be parked close to a firehouse and apparently I looked like I needed some assistance. Police come and then paramedics. I was asked to let them check my vitals and then I realize I'm on my way to hospital. My car was locked and I was told that my car would be fine. When I get to hospital I called about my car to make sure all was good. I was told by State Farm that they knew nothing about the car. I reported to them exactly what happened. My car was left sitting right on Memphis side of Mississippi State line. When dealing with the officials I was getting the runaround. Memphis said it was a matter for Mississippi and vise versa.
I am very angry because I had worked very hard and paid $25,000.00 over three years for my green 1999 Toyota Camry. Now I'm being told not anyone knows where my car is. I had to just accept it was gone. Three months later I get a called from the impound lot of Memphis. They had my car. They said I could come get it. "No I can't" I said. This is now a State Farm matter. Lot of what happened was so mixed up. Dealing with folks that really acted liked they were not telling me the truth. However I did have full coverage on my car.
The vehicle was loaded with leather seats. I got my insurance refund of $5,700 for my 1999 model. I was told it was not wrecked then was told it was. State farm paid me my money and I was glad to close that deal. I really wanted my car. State farm did the best they could under what information they were given. I think most of the situation can be resolved when all involved tell the truth and do the job to its detailed description. Thank God I lived through this ordeal, I just wish I had a car to go to the grocery or so I could feel the road move under my seat. Ha ha!

I have had my auto insurance with State Farm since 1980 but now I am not good enough for them. They cancelled my homeowner's insurance so I cancelled my auto insurance with them because I lost all the benefit of having both with them. I found out how much cheaper and more reliable other agencies are. What a terrible turn for what used to be a great company.

Do not buy insurance from State Farm! I was hit by someone with State Farm insurance, and they refuse to fix parts of my truck that was damaged and stopped working. Tasha (Team 16) even said that it was possible that the item in question could have been damaged by the incident, and then when I called her on it, she retracted and said that the inspector said it was not their fault and they would not fix it... there are many options for insurance, pick someone else. #statefarm #statefarmripoff

Have been a State Farm customer for over 10 years. Here is a list of products I currently have through State Farm. Auto Insurance x 2 $250,000 each person / $500,000 each accident. $100,000 each accident, 80/20 coverage on rental. Condominium Unit Owners Policy. Whole Life policy for my daughter. Select Term Life for myself.
My daughter was in a accident on 6/9/2016. Her brand new 2016 Kia, which I had paid off has front end damage to the grill otherwise no one was hurt. This is what I would consider a minor accident but State Farm has treated us very poorly. I, myself, the primary on the policy have not had a ticket or an accident in a long time. My daughter, as well, no accidents, but has had tickets on her record.
We took the car to our preferred shop locally, Leif's Auto Body, which is not on State Farm's approved shop list. I like Leif's - they've always been good to us and done great work on our vehicles. Before we took the car in, we contacted State Farm and were told, "just have the shop send us an estimate, nothing else needed". So we did that, a few days later, on the day of the appointment, State Farm reached out and we were told no, the State Farm adjuster has to inspect the vehicle first. The adjuster could not make it out that day to look at the vehicle so we had to wait and bring the vehicle back.
Once the vehicle got to the shop the adjuster told us that their estimate was $200.00 lower than Leif's and that they wanted us to get used parts to save money. Um, no, this is a paid for 2016 vehicle and the majority of the parts are plastic. The other thing that the adjuster said was that we should drop off the car only after the repair shop received the parts because it would "save them money" on rental insurance. Hello, why am I paying for rental coverage, albeit 20% paid by me if I can't use it? State Farm cut the check to Leif's on the spot for damage (they paid $825, my daughter paid the deductible).
I was told by State Farm today, 6/17, the claim was closed. What? The repair isn't done yet? How is the claim closed and what if there is more damage? Also, State Farm's website says the claim is still active. I called up and said I've been a customer forever, the agent told me "I know." Seriously, we are $200.00 apart on a new vehicle and you're going to try to talk me into used parts and not using my rental on a vehicle I just paid off?
All told, this experience has soured me on State Farm. As a loyal customer I expect more from a company I've had a relationship with for over a decade. As a consistently good driver with a good credit score I don't imagine I'll have a challenge getting covered on all the above products by another insurance company. Imagine if you were a new customer how you'd get treated by State Farm.

On June 4, 2016 my car broke down, so I called State Farm and was text back tow truck will be 45min. It was around 11:45am. The temperature was about 80 so sitting in car 20 min. I call tow company. They tell me that they don't have a truck! And they just got the order 3 min prior. So I called State Farm. They try to call another company. In the meantime my friend who was with me called me a different local tow. They arrived in 10 min. I get home at about 12:45 and burning up. It had to be 120 degrees inside my car.
Well, it cost me $90.00. So I called State Farm for reimbursement. Now I am poor on a set income, and that money is grocery money. They cut the check and at my request popped it in the mail. Well I'm still waiting, waiting and the check was sent out last Thursday. It's a week later and nothing. I called yesterday and my agent Ms. Sunny says "oh well, we need to wait the 7-10 days." DO YOU FOLKS THINK I HAVE WAITED ENOUGH? I'm 64 years old that's til next Monday!!! Well that's fine and they can keep waiting too. I changed insurance companies, went with #1GEICO and will be saving about $100 a year and getting thousands more in coverage!! They probably don't care about poor old people like me anyway!!

So, I got married recently and am on a search for an auto insurance company for my husband and I as we were both on our parents' policies and will now be needing to get one together. I had Liberty Mutual and he had State Farm. I got a quote from mine and deemed it too expensive, then I got a quote from Geico (super cheap! Woot!) but he wanted me to check with State Farm as well given that that's what he's a part of already. So, I called the Customer Service line and went through the long process of sharing all of his/my information and yadda yadda, then she tells me that since he already has a policy, that she can't give me a quote and I'll have to call his agent personally.
I inform her that that agent is in Dallas, TX, but we now live in Tulsa, OK. So she says that that's a different situation entirely, and instead I need to call the local agent to my area to get a quote... Annoying that she can't even give me a quote given that she has all of his information, but okay. So I waited until my location was open, and I called in to chat with that person. His assistant answered, so we started the whole process all over again. Then she says she can't give me a quote (are you serious??) because I have to call HIS agent so he'll release my husband's information to her. THEN I'll have to call MY agent back and do everything all over again!
What the heck is wrong with this company!!! I just wanted a simple quote to even establish if State Farm is the direction we want to go. They make the process so much of a pain that I'm done with my curiosity. If it's this difficult to get a basic quote, I can't imagine how difficult it'd be if I were to get in an accident or something and need their assistance. Their system needs some adjustments, because this is just ridiculous.

One of State Farm's insurer came into the side of my car on a Saturday in a busy town that always has a lot of people walking around. The parking spaces are pull in, not parallel. He was in the left lane and had stopped for some people to cross. I had slowed to let them get across my lane and was slowly coming up beside him in the right lane. He saw the one and only parking space and was cutting across my lane to get to it. He never saw me, came into my front side panel and down the side of my car. I tried to get away from his vehicle but had parked cars on the other side. He was ticketed for unsafe movement. I got a ticket for my tag being out. The policeman told him that he was at fault after talking to a number of witnesses. I called to report this accident to State Farm, they already had it. I was told I would be taken care of because it was totally their insurer's fault. Their adjuster came out and did the estimate.
Took my car to the shop today, called Enterprise to come get me to go get my rental car that State Farm was paying for. Enterprise had called me right after the accident so I know everything was OK'ed. No car! Called State Farm and some rude, I'll just say LADY, told me the accident was under investigation because if they could prove I was 1% at fault, even though I did not get a ticket for the accident, they didn't have to pay anything. She said my tag ticket had that I was speeding on a highway. I was on a Main Street in the center of town. The police has on my paper that I was doing 20, because that is the speed limit, but I wasn't even doing that.
The people at Enterprise were very nice, they took me back to the shop to get my car back until I find out if they are going to pay. Lost 3 hours of work because they couldn't call me and tell me that "we're canceling everything"! There should be something done about these crooks! Think they should be made to take their commercials off TV, very misleading! Contacting Insurance Commissioner and a Lawyer!

We recently moved to FL from IL where we had a State Farm Agent. State Farm assigned us to an agent in FL. We transferred our 4 car policies to the new agent. We also tried to transfer our boat policy but were told they no longer insure boats in FL, I asked if I had to go with another company and they said yes. I then discovered that they were still auto-billing me for boat insurance which they can't provide. It has been 2 YEARS and it's still not corrected - the situation has been escalated but nothing has been corrected.
My driver's license has been suspended by the state TWICE with this explanation from the state of FL, "The insurance coverage you provided this office has been denied by State Farm." When I call State Farm to ask for help I was told "There is nothing we can do, you have car insurance, if you didn't have it we could issue you a policy." My head is pounding after another 2 hours and 48 minutes of being on hold and transferred with no resolution. State Farm doesn't understand the meaning of customer service. Lastly their ads make you believe you can get help anytime by calling them - that's only for new customers. Once you are a customer they can't help you, only your agent can help. If you have an agent like mine you are out of luck. Beware once they have your money they won't help you!!

We were hit back in February 2016. State Farm highly recommended that we go with one of their "Select Service" providers. Well that translates into "Cheap, Poor Quality Service" providers. It is now June 2016 and I have a vehicle that continues to leak fluid. Let me say it is a brand NEW vehicle. We took it to Service King and they said they had to order a part and would get back with us. It has been 3 weeks and not ONE peep from Service King. I contacted State Farm and they contacted Service King and just slapped them on the hand. Those State Farm representatives pushed me so far off the phone. Shame on them and shame on Service King. I had an auto policy with State Farm for more than 7 years, then a few years ago, I bought a new car, and got insurance for it. In the meantime I privately sold the car the existing car that I had rather than trading it in. When it sold, I cancelled the insurance on it. State Farm screwed up and canceled the insurance on my new car. I had it on automatic payment, so I didn't notice. One day, I was in a restaurant and someone hit my car in the parking lot. When I went to make the claim, I discovered the error. Rather than applying what I had been paying to the wrong vehicle, due to their error, and paying out the claim minus any overage, they wouldn't pay out the claim without fully paying the back amount.
It seems crummy but I was okay with that, and decided to pay for the damages out of pocket and just get the insurance switched to the new car. Except they refused to apply the insurance without a full back payment of the "uncovered" period even without the claim. As a result I found a new insurance company for my vehicles. This was several years ago. I also had a homeowner's policy with State Farm. Recently, my home was vandalized, and I had items stolen from the house. I filed a claim on it. First they split the claim into two separate claims and charged me the deductible on both. Second they didn't pay out the cost of the damages, so I still had to drop money into it. Yesterday, I got a notice from State Farm that they would be dropping my homeowners policy on July 1, 2016 due to claim activity.
I had the homeowner's policy through them for more than 11 years, and had paid, easily double, what the total claim activity was over that course of time. I had never had a late or missed payment in that entire time. I was, in my opinion, a very good, long term customer, that was actually a profit generator for them. I called the agent, who tried to advocate for me to corporate (according to her), but to no avail. They had made up their mind. Because they dropped me, my home appears to be considered high risk for other insurance companies as well (based on calls for quotes to other companies), which will end up driving rates up. So not only did my home get vandalized and items stolen, I also had my insurance company use tactics to double my deductible, then ultimately drop me and cause me to have to pay out even more in premiums. I was vandalized once, and effectively robbed three times. Thanks State Farm!
This deplorable treatment of a good, long standing customer, is beyond reprehensible. I am not speaking from just one incident but multiple over a number of years (so it's not like they were just bad a few years ago), across different services and between multiple agents. The problems I have had weren't from an agent, but from State Farm as a corporation. To me, non-isolated incidents over a range of time are indicative of bad business practices, not unusual circumstances. I urge anyone who is looking for insurance, or for any of the other services State Farm offers, to steer clear of them!

Naturally we said yes. All disclosures were reviewed and acknowledged and a payment was made. Several days later, we get notice that they can't cover us due to a suspended license. This came as a shock because we both have current and valid licenses in the state we live in. They apparently had an old license from another state, that had since been surrendered in order to get the current license, as a current license. They failed to verify the current information at the time we signed up for the policy.
We have now been disputing this for several weeks between them and the DMV for that state to no avail. In the meantime, they have taken another payment all while reminding us that our policy is set to cancel soon due to this issue. They have done little to resolve it and misrepresented themselves in the process. There is an apparent lack of training to the employees of her office and lack of care to resolve issues that their lack of attention to detail has caused. Highly dissatisfied with this agent and her office.

A couple of months ago it came to my attention that my daughter Cathryn had an insurance policy that had been taken out on her in 2010 for $25,000. She was 14 at the time. What makes this situation different than most others is that no one in our family took out the policy. The bigger issue is that her father's ex-wife Christine **, a State Farm agent with offices in Pleasant Hill CA, did.
In 2010 when the policy was initiated, my ex-husband and his second wife were already divorced. A nasty divorce that is ongoing today. The document is signed by her then secretary Leslie when it should have been signed by the agent. Because my daughter was a minor and a parent had to sign, my ex-husband's signature was copied, cut and pasted from another policy without his knowledge or consent. We know this because the agent that has been servicing their account(s) since 2009 showed my ex-husband and my daughters the documentation two months ago. It shows that he was paying all the accounts, including this one, but he never even knew it existed. According to the documentation he paid until 2011. From then until now Christine ** has been the sole payer of this policy and she is the number 2 benefactor as well.
Here's the problem. Besides fraud with intent, and the illegal, immoral and unethical behavior of a State Farm agent according to their published guidelines, my daughter's policy is not the only one that was fabricated by Christine **. Basically, this policy was generated so that Christine could win a trip to Europe. AND this is not the only policy that was generated from her list of clients. There are others. Many others. Over a period of years. What's scary for me though, is that my daughter's policy is still in place.
Here's the even bigger problem. State Farm is dragging their feet in their investigation even though they have determined there was fraud. Then again, there is a lot to investigate. Seems that Christine ** was also accessing all the policies that no longer had her name on them and she was altering the information. For example, the mortgage on the family home which belongs to my ex-husband. For over two years the main social security number on the account has been changed to reflect Christine ** SS. That means that no one can speak to an agent, pay a bill, or change any information until proof of identity and/or identity fraud has been established. This was done no less than 4 times and takes weeks to correct. State Farm has still not fixed the issue and Christine ** continues to illegally access accounts and policies of my children and their father although her divorce was final in 2009.
What should be a concern to many policyholders and clients is that Christine ** has access to confidential, privileged information and is using it to benefit financially; unbeknownst to her trusting clients. It should bother anyone with a policy from her agency or any policy from someone that works for her. I'm sure that this is not the normal course of business for State Farm. I can tell you that I have expressed my concerns regarding my father's State Farm policies, (some of them are more than 40 years old), to his agent here in Las Vegas and that I fear Christine ** may be illegally accessing them to see what has been bought, added, changed or modified in any way. Yes, it's that bad. It's also very illegal.
On a footnote. Christine ** was not the best "step-mother" to my daughters who are now old enough to tell their story. She was physically, verbally and mentally abusive to my then 6 and 9-year-old daughters and orchestrated a life of fear for them that is coming to light more and more each day. We are taking legal steps at this time that include the demand that she cancels the policy on my youngest daughter which she is refusing to do. (?) I'm sure you can imagine that such a person having an insurance policy on a child that is not theirs would be cause for concern. Anyone with a policy from her agency should be very concerned about privacy and confidentiality.

Not to mention over the years how many people the company. Don't get me wrong, my son was wrong but I didn't do it, he did. It wasnt related to driving but now I am a assumed risk because of his actions.

My husband and I have not had accidents or claims in the last 15 years. No explanation was given, nor did the person on the other end of the phone seem to care about how shocked I was. We have already purchased insurance from another company and pay $10 more per month to insure 3 cars and an RV than it would have cost to insure just the new car.

We have had State Farm Insurance for home cars and all for 20 plus years. Missouri, Columbia in particular have bullied me when I try to get them to get adjuster out to accident scene, proceed with the procedure in claim filing in a professional way and trying to be fair. The female claim rep. on my claim and her hit man Milli Vanilli, if you can guess his last name both mistreated me on the phone. I have excellent coverage on cars, so they immediately unfairly blamed the accident on me so they could easily pay off the person who rear-ended my car at 60 miles per hour. Her insurance is not so good, so they paid her off and 4000 more on her car than it was worth and another fraudulent area they paid her. Their hysterical criminal ignorant threatening behavior to me, a long-time customer became very clear that they are on the take from this person with the bad insurance and speeding and texting and reckless driving habits totaling my car and hers.
I am sure they are guilty of fraud, money taking from my good insurance to her and then back to them and defrauding seniors and women. Check out Columbia MO. claims center. These people will no doubt be the reason that many of us will be getting cards in the future for payment in class action lawsuits of 30,000 dollars or more stolen from our good insurance to pay off these drivers that hit us and totaled their own car and mine. Then the crook driver will pay off the insurance claim crooks with the extra money they gave the crook on their car. Me the owner of State Farm Insurance have been repeatedly telling them they are overpaying this thief. They just try to blame the accident on me. They are too dumb to even know the laws of the state of Missouri.
Yes, Federal Gov't. please investigate. State gov't. too. These people are defrauding us. Stealing, threatening and scaring people, at the same time incompetent and super bullies. State Farm is out of control, check out the Columbia, MO. office. Get this under control now before people have their car insurance completely ruined. Move fast!!!

I was involved in an accident back in August of 2014. I was traveling west heading back home on a road I can't remember the name of. Anyhow, a car traveling in the opposite direction crosses lanes hitting me head on, spins around from the impact and hits me again at an angle on the driver side. Airbags start flying, glass is shattering all around me... I gather myself, reach for my phone and call for emergency help because I realize I'm bleeding badly. Long story short, the guy who hit me was drunk, tried to leave the scene but was ran down by people who saw the accident occur, didn't have license or insurance. However, the car was insured by someone else.
Fast forward to me trying to get a rental car and State Farm denies he owes me because the car was supposedly stolen. However, to this day no police report has been made by the owner of the vehicle that the car was actually stolen. Meaning they're simply going with this story solely based on hearsay. Mind you, I was and still am suffering from this accident that is of no fault of mine. How do you deny my claim based on what the owner of the car says without actual documentation that refutes their claim? Who doesn't report a stolen car stolen?!!! It's almost been two years and I'm STILL no closer to getting this case resolved from the day that it happened. Stay away from STATE FARM! The saddest part about it is I too was a customer of theirs when this accident occurred and they've treated me as if I caused this to happen to myself.

I never got a check. Then I was told by someone else from State Farm I would be getting the check in two days. It didn't happen. Then I was told that State Farm cashed my check and applied the funds to my car loan. I am not behind on my car loan so what gives them the right to do that? Is it even legal??? Then I requested a letter stating that the money went to my car loan or they send me the check. They didn't even do that. False advertisement!!!
"A Good Neighbor," really??? What kind of Mickey Mouse operation are they anyway??? Every time I spoke with a State Farm Rep, I got a different answer about my refund. I had a wreck November 29, 2015 and the guy that hit me had insurance with State Farm. I called the next day to file my claim. Of course I had to leave a message and it took them a week to get back with me & every time I tried to call and check on the claim the lady kept saying that she was still waiting to hear from the person that hit me & verify that their policy was still active. So finally after about 2 weeks I heard back from them and at that time I went ahead and went to therapy and I missed time from work. Then I kept calling to see when I could put my car in the shop and of course no one answered. And finally on December 22, 2015 almost a month later someone called me and said that I could take my car to the shop, so I was pissed about that as well.
So once I am finished with therapy this damn fool from State Farm called and offered me $1000 and I told him "no I can't accept that." I have missed time from work and they inconvenienced me so after me & him went back & forth this arrogant ass lady with an attitude named Toni ** called me very rude and said that she was investigating. And I sent her my lost time from work & guess what, they denied it. She said that they wasn't paying me any more than the $1000. They want people to pay all this money for insurance but then when something happens they don't want to pay out and it's a shame b/c they are robbing people. I should have filed it on my insurance and let my insurance company go after their scamming asses but I will know next time.

They wanted 3 yrs back but my previous ins company wouldn't provide it in the time needed. State Farm basically harassed me about it. Threatened to terminate my claim all because they wanted 3 yrs back. Matt tried his best to help me out but we could never get that letter. Anyway, point is I was going to pay $240 per month for 2 cars...really expensive, so eventually I had to cancel with them.
My current ins quoted me $171 for the same 2 cars. Didn't need a letter of experience but I had to provide proof of ins before them. When I called to cancel the lady was real nasty. Normally ins companies want at least 3/6 months back of experience. State Farm wanted 3 yrs. But I had a excellent driving record, no tickets, accidents, etc. I had been with my previous ins company 13 yrs so I didn't understand the trouble they gave me. He asked about the initial payment he put down and was told he would have to wait up to 30 days for his refund.
Okay, fast forward, 30 days later an automatic draft was taken from his account for his monthly payment!!! I would give my State Farm Agent and her office staff a 10 star rating. They are so fabulous, patient, and helpful. As far as dealing with people in the field after our home flooded after my parents also recently died, there aren't enough characters left to describe my shock at the irrational, aggressive, and what would be illegal actions (of some - not all) if anyone else robbed you blind; yet, they get by with it. They have lowballed, lied, and done every possible Bad Faith Action I can imagine.
I had a very nice adjuster, but requested another since the prices they put on our antiques and valuables were so low. I lost so much my fabulous parents (and I) sacrificed to have for the family - things that meant so much to me after losing my parents who were my world. My mistake for asking for a new adjuster though. I ended up with one who would go into rage when she called (even hung up on me as I sat and just listened to her go on and on), so I had to block all the numbers.
It has been a 3 year nightmare that robbed me of my retirement savings (and I am disabled due to a spine accident needing the most severe surgery that can only be done somewhere like the Cleveland Clinic which has been postponed 2 times so far). After it is all over, I have a blog with facts I'll start under the name **. All I can really say here is that it has been a shocking experience that they can do what they do and somehow get by with it.
Aside from robbing me of the values of all lost in the burst pipe flood (when we are highly insured), here's a prime example: I sent receipts for reimbursement to the supervisor weekly and spoke to him on the phone numerous times weekly (a nice young man); yet, even if they say they sent me a letter saying I was doing it wrong, I never got my mail due to forwarding, so in the 2 year period, he could have stopped me numerous times weekly as we spoke weekly when I was sending him receipts. Instead, they dumped all the receipts back on me the week of the deadline (when I was hoping my association with them was over) and said to redo them (after being on the computer 18 hrs daily destroying my Lasik eyes and my spine. I can hardly walk now 90% of the day.).
When I reported that and said 'had I been told, I certainly wouldn't have continued "doing it wrong" for over a year', so they said they have phone proof that they told me on the phone. When I said I could sue them in Civil Court for a Federal Offense of recording phone conversations (when they never told me anyway, so that was a lie) due to the fact that I asked each time if I was being recorded and was told I was not, they changed their story. They then said they have documentation that we spoke on the phone (no recording - no proof of what was said) and that when we did, they told me I was doing the receipts wrong even though they have no proof of the conversations.
That's absurd. Also, why would anyone continue to do it wrong for over a year if told otherwise, especially when I need to get on with what is left of my life (my parents' deaths, the property, operation, etc.) at age 63 now (having lost 3 valuable years of my life and finances on this, and I lost my dog, living in mold growing in the flooded house they ignored, and I have the proof). I have proof of calls made also; yet, there is no proof of what was said in the calls, and to say otherwise is hearsay (and a lie on their part); yet, they get by with it? How is this possible?
I was told by them I could get an attorney; yet, I've read it is against the law to be forced to get an attorney to get fair treatment. It is just shocking; yet, I can't document 3 years of all that has happened here on this site. I will probably pay an independent adjuster (and continue to report the injustices and irrational situation to State Farm Administration and Board Members). My ratings below are for the field agent situation - not for my State Farm Agent who is as I said, fabulous.

Wanna know how State Farm treats their valued customers? Read this! I've had State Farm for a few years, since 2013-2016. We have also PAID every penny that was due to them and are currently up to date. My husband got stationed to Camp Lejeune and upon our trip from the west coast we purchased a new vehicle. We added it on our policy and about a month later one morning on his way to work he had a blowout. Of course we called State Farm since we have full coverage, and they offer roadside assistance 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Believe it or not we had to come out of pocket for the charges of the tow truck to haul the Ford F-250 back to our home not far from the incident. The truck was STILL being added to our policy even though it's been a little over a month since I had added it. And even though we'd made payments toward the insurance and the premiums for the new vehicle.
Now, that's only the first problem. More recently we've needed roadside assistance from them again. Turkey season has started and my husband left very early Sunday morning to sit. It'd been raining so the ground was wet and he parked on the side of a dirt road but the truck ended up sliding down and got stuck. **Now keep in mind we've been paying State Farm for their roadside assistance that's SUPPOSED to be 24/7, right? No. Wrong. **
He called about 4 am and WAITED 2 HOURS before he heard anything back from State Farm. Finally around 6 am the lady called back only to say she couldn't get anyone out there, probably because of the time and day. (Now, I understand they go through other businesses and what not... But I'm paying for this service. I should get it!) Since State Farm was not able to help us, PMO called a tow truck service and had a guy come pull him out. After doing so we were billed $200! Of course we paid so we wouldn't have any issues with the tow company trying to take my husband's truck, it was a debt that couldn't be avoided.
The following Monday morning I'm on the phone with my insurance agent trying to figure out why no one could help us and why this was the SECOND TIME they didn't have our back when we needed them. But they did reimburse us half of the bill. Thanks State Farm! After playing phone tag to try and follow up I gave up on trying to fight with them. BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!
Today: I called to see how much my bill was and I am being told its $315. (I'm seething) Why? How could it possible be over 300 when I normally pay around 250? Not only was the receptionist rude with me over the phone and cutting me off but she was making me think she couldn't care less if I were a client or not. Today I was told our good driving discount was dropped from our policy because of the last incident with my husband. (they are considering it an accident apparently) And we STILL owe for adding the truck to the policy.
I added the truck probably around Dec-January and apparently I'm still paying for it to be added and it's currently May! No way. It's ridiculous! Not only that but previously I was told by my agent my bill was supposed to be cheaper. Know what else happened today? I switched to Geico and my bill is only 177 a month. Do yourself a favor and don't even bother with this company. They have your back until you actually need them to have your back.

They classified the vehicle as a total loss (1993 Toyota 1/2 pickup maintained in excellent condition) and offered $3000. Their comps for the valuation was one vehicle at a dealer and the same vehicle through a broker. In other words, one comparison. The comp was for a 2 wheel drive, ours was a 4 wheel drive. I searched the internet and found 11 comps with an average value of $7000.
When State Farm would not negotiate I filed a claim with the CA Insurance Commissioner. State Farm came back with a $7000 settlement but they still based their settlement on their comps. The "NEW" comps were the same as the initial vehicles, they just changed the description from 2wd to 4wd. In other words, their comps were a lie. This is how they make their profit, by trying to stuff a settlement down your throat based on lies. And, I filed another complaint with the CA Insurance Commissioner and have written the CA Attorney General. To base settlements on false information in an attempt to improperly reduce an insurance settlement is called fraud.

If I had to use two words to describe this office, it would be incompetent and uneducated. I have been with this State Farm under my parents policy for over 8 years. I finally received my own policy and my fiance vehicle was also listed under my policy for the sake of saving money. All this office has caused is burden and stress. A few months into my policy State Farm charged me 3x for my monthly payment. Once on Sept. 29, Oct 5th, and Oct 6th. It was a headache trying to figure out why this took place and how could they be so careless.
I had called to stop my SFPP payments and I was told it would be taken care of. No one attempted to call me back and let me know their system was down (AS USUAL). So the payment on the 29th was charged and returned. On the 5th I called to pay my bill and I wasn't informed that the automated system would retry the payment... Needless to say I wasn't very happy to see all these charges on my acct.
Well months go by and my acct kept saying past due. Once we figured out the issue and corrected it State Farm recorded a lapse in insurance on my license with a fee which I was told would be paid and taken care of because it was their mistake that I wasn't given the correct information. After going back and forth with them they cut me a check for $125. After the ordeal my acct kept saying past due, I was told my acct said past due because I didn't want to give them my bank acct info for automatic payments, due to the fact they charged me 3 times due to their incompetencies. I then was asked for a month in reserve if I didn't want to give them my card information, I declined.
A few months later I get 2 letters in the mail from the DMV saying my insurance lapsed. Now State Farm refuses to pay the DMV the $250 fine for saying my insurance lapsed when it didn't. My ledger shows all payments were made and my acct was current. Now because they misused my card information in the past and I did not trust them with my information, they reported that my insurance lapsed, WHICH IT DID NOT. They are uneducated in this office and now corporate is telling me because "You did not pay a month in reserve or give us the information for your bank acct, your policy was cancelled." The local office should be more educated on corporate policies and stop acting like a "good neighbor." They are snakes and so disrespectful. I have never dealt with such a money hungry business. This agent is very UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Do not sign with this State Farm agent! I just filed an executive formal complaint with the State Farm corporate office. She needs to take Customer Service 101 and keep up with auto policies and changes! After all, isn't that the core of her business is to be able to answer any question a customer has? I had to physically go to her office so someone can explain to me what happened to my recurring payments and why the increase in my policy. When I got there, the receptionist, DIANA was very cold and sarcastic when I asked to speak to Kimberly Brust, the owner. Kimberly came out and I can already tell that this was not going to go well. First, she greeted me with, "Hey, what's up?" No "Hi, How are you" maybe shake my hand, anything that would ease my frustration.
She led me to her office, left the door open and there was a dog! Why bring your dog to the office? Her office smelled. So unprofessional. I expressed my concerns about no one returning my call and she just looked at me like I was an alien and no apology. So I proceeded to ask her why my recurring automatic payments stopped. She said I stopped it and it's past due! WHAT??? That was news to me! All I did was a change of address! I've always been on automatic recurring payments for years with perfect payment history! I did not authorize anyone to discontinue my auto payments. It turned out after speaking to the corporate office that I have to sign a new form from the new agent if you want to be on a recurring payment plan. Shouldn't she know that simple information?
Also, the quote I was given by her office when I signed on with her was lower than what was on the bill. Of course, she has no answer. So the corporate office informed me that there is an increase in the state of Florida, across the board. Also there was a one time charge of $40 for making an address change. Why do I have to go through hoops to find this info? Why does she not know that? Isn't that her job? Her ignorance about this matter is unacceptable and to make matters worse, she blamed me!!! She was demeaning, defensive and ignorant of auto insurance simple changes and policies. The feeling I got from her was that she just want to take my money and forget about making the customer happy. She slammed my paper policy on her desk, screamed at me "What do you want to do?! Where do you want to go?!" I was already there to complain about no one returning my calls. Instead of diffusing the situation, she escalated it.
I basically just walked out of there and told her I'll just deal with her poor customer service with the corporate office. She owns the agency and she does not have any knowledge of State Farm's policies or what is going on with auto insurance increases in the state?! It's mind-blowing how she treats customers! It was embarrassing!!! I am not going to let this one go! After the corporate office I just filed a complaint with the NAIC and the BBB too. Her license should be taken away! Don't go to this agency, go somewhere else!

State Farm Agent Amanda ** in Leo, Indiana was instructed to lower my collision deductible. Instead, she lowered my comprehensive deductible. When a claim on my vehicle arose later, State Farm refused to honor the lower deductible even though there is a clear digital trail showing the changes I requested. They are dishonest and incompetent. Don't ever use State Farm for anything. I have switched insurance companies and have filed complaints with the BBB, U.S. and state attorney generals' offices and am leaving reviews everywhere possible. The only way to make unscrupulous companies like State Farm change is to stop using their services and make their flagrant dishonesty known far and wide.

My daughter locked my car keys in my car. I called agent who said I don't have coverage. Fine. However they then informed me they could transfer me to roadside assistance and they could help me. Talking to the agent in their department they said they could get me a discount for the service. They then said they found one for $55. I accepted their quote and was sent a confirmation text. They said 45 minutes. After an hour and a half waiting with my daughter in the rain... I called. The service provider said that they weren't able to come and had informed the insurance company. They also informed me that the 55 dollars is their charge. No discount. I called the number again and they called another tow company and gave me a quote of 85 to 95 dollars.
My daughter called a company that said 75 dollars. When I told this useless roadside assistance company I found a cheaper price on my own... they fed me a bunch of bs. We called the company back that quoted us 75 and he said... "I just got off the phone with your roadside assistance and they blew me off and were rude." Dealing directly with the company that provided me with unlocking my car was far better than working with State Farm's crap. Liars said discount. Sat in the rain with my child and they did nothing. Our family has been with them for over 30 years. First thing Monday morning, I intend to start looking for a new company. Will not stay with this dishonest company any longer. Not helpful at all. Just want your money.

I bought my car insurance with State Farm as my previous insurance has much higher rate in different state where I just moved to. After about a month, the company sent me a letter telling me that they cancelled my insurance because of "accident details needed". I did not recall any accident of my car until I talked to the agent in local office. It was 3 years ago when someone hit my car's rear bumper with his truck when backing up to park in the parking lot when I was not in my car. The other driver claimed to his insurance company and I got a few hundreds $ of pay for damage and this was put in record of my car. Then State Farm somehow got this record that I did not know anything about. I told the agent what it was about. The agent put some information to their system and told me that I should get response in a week.
After a week there was nothing. So I went to talk to someone in local office and an agent contacted the underwriting department and then told me I will be informed of their answer in a week. At the same time, my policy number was removed from my online account and this was one week before the termination date of my policy. One week passed and there was nothing. The underwriting department people either did not care, or did not work very much, or did not bother to change anything. I will ask them to refund my pay as they only gave me about one month period before termination and I paid for 6 month premium. I do not know how much they will refund me and how long it will take them to do. I am expecting very long and very disappointing process of this refund procedure by State Farm company. This company is no good. If you want auto insurance, try some others.

My home caught fire because of a electrical issue in one of my garage outlets on 3/14/16. It is now 4/20/16 and my contractor doesn't have an estimate or scope of work from State Farm. My contractor has been in business for 15 years and never seen any company take this long, or be more difficult to communicate with. It has been consistent from day one. The adjuster first said it would be a week. After a week and a half, I tried calling multiple days in a row for an update. All calls would go to voicemail and never get returned.
After multiple calls to the call center and going to see my agent, I finally got to speak to his manager. After escalating he is suddenly available. He then says he needs one more week. Okay. One week later unresponsive again, no proactive call when the already-late time frame was missed. Escalated again. Still no call but no, he answers the phone. I was polite, and asked if he had a timeframe. In his words "I don't want to give you a timeframe. I keep missing them."
My advice, go somewhere else for insurance. If it's too late and you are having similar problems, ask for their manager, that seems to be the only thing that works. Also, I haven't done it in fear it could make things take longer, but there is always the insurance commissioner and local news. Companies operating in bad faith like this are why insurance companies spend so much money each year on advertising. They have to convince us that they will take care of us when their actions speak otherwise.

I could never get a hold of my original agent, Rosa **, who seemed to always conveniently be away from her desk or out of town. Horrible experience with State Farm with their car insurance policy. I recently got into a car accident where my daughter was driving, I was in the passenger seat. We were at a red light when another car hit us from behind. Luckily no major damages were done however the car was still left with a dent and scratch marks on the bumper. The driver to the other car was a young girl, a teen. She was obviously not the owner of the car nor was she in her insurance as stated in the police report. Another person's name appeared under the insurance. We were hoping to settle this promptly as we both had State Farm so we did not think too much hassle would occur.
It's now been almost 2 weeks and the claim has not been settled. I am presenting lower back pains and the car has not been fixed since State Farm claims to not be able to contact the other person responsible and wants me to assume responsibility over my damages and medical bills. We have been very patient with this communicating back and forth with State Farm but they tell us one thing and do another. They say they are trying to reach the other girl and that another claim is being processed so she will be responsible for the damages. However I then receive another letter asking me to put all charges on my policy. As it is evident that State Farm does not want to settle this I can now only rely on a lawyer to help me settle this. I can only express my dissatisfaction and urge others not to go to State Farm.

I work at a body shop so I'm constantly interacting with many State Farm adjusters. I've noticed a downward negative trend with how the adjusters are treating the claimants and even their own insds. One case for instance: The field rep did not inspect the vehicle until about 7 days after. My shop repeatedly called to remind SF (State Farm) that the vehicle is at the shop. When it was finally inspected, no one on the team even issued any repair payment. They cited at the shop needed to send them an invoice. BS!
In my last 11 years of working with State Farm, I did not have to send them an invoice for the repair. The payment was supposed to be made out and mailed to the insd directly since SF is only liable to its insds - not the body shop. Wait time for adjusters to pick up averages about 20 minutes. You have to constantly repeat your request from one adjuster to the next. I do not recommend this insurance company. USAA or Wawanesa or Tokio Marine has more professional reps who actually care for their own insds.

STATE FARM LIES AND DENIES!!! On March 4, 2016 my son was proceeding when their insured hung what appeared to be a u-turn over a yellow line into oncoming traffic. The driver then slammed into reverse without looking to back into the driveway of a house under construction, hitting the body of our Dodge Ram on the driver's side, impacting and damaging both driver's side doors, undercarriage and runner. The door does not close.
The driver who was a construction worker at the site, apologized, asked not to call the police, gave us his insurance card which was photographed inside his work van, and shook hands. The accident was reported by us to his insurance State Farm and the vehicle was brought to the body shop for repair. 1 week, 2 weeks, almost three weeks went by with 20+ phone conversations and a State Farm adjuster was not sent to our auto repair. State Farm claimed to be unable to contact the insured repeatedly. State Farm claimed that his wife denied the accident. State Farm claimed they couldn't find him. State Farm claimed he was not the owner. State Farm claimed a lot of things.
I did what weeks and several State Farm workers couldn't do in almost 3 weeks. I found him just where we left him, at the construction site backed into the driveway once again. Knocking on the door I was greeted by the insured. He yelled. He screamed. He claimed not to speak English. He claimed there was no accident. He claimed I was trespassing. He claimed he would call the police. Too late. I already did. The police, the construction workers, the miraculously found owner and builder, their own body shop person suddenly appeared. The insured admitted to the police that he backed into my son. They only then called in the accident to State Farm.
Another two weeks and 20 phone calls ensue. The insured admitted his fault. However, State Farm's very own Ukrainian interpreter misconstrued their insured's words. They happened to have someone in the office who spoke Ukrainian and the insured said he was parallel parking and my son tried to get through. Very creative. Then on 3 separate occasions State Farm's AGENTS said the photos their agent took of the Ram were too dark to assume liability. Even more creative. Then I insisted on a supervisor and new photos.
Another week passes and they send out their adjuster to take new photos. Miraculously the photos are bright and clear. The adjuster admits impact dent to the truck. I call him and he admits impact dent to me. After all the truck cannot drive sideways and hit itself. State Farm calls. Apparently once again they disagree with their own findings. Their insured is denying the claim, again, so State Farm is denying liability, 0% at fault. That was today.
LIE AND DENY will not work. State Farm Insurance company has to be held accountable for their actions. I have now brought it to my insurance company, will call NEWS 12, channel 2, Newsday, and the Attorney General to notify them of State Farm's unethical practices. I was informed by the State Farm roadside assistance operators that I could be reimbursed for the overage in mileage we incurred, due to the fact that the nearest service station, btw not Wal-Mart, was closed. Well, lo and behold, Monday arrives and I am informed, not only by State Farm road assistance and my State Farm office agent, that they, under no circumstances refund towing services. They even had the nerve to tell me that my husband should have "chosen", after waiting five hours and working ten, to go to the nearest service station and drop his keys into an overnight drop box. I was with State Farm for over a decade when I needed to make my first claim. I had a convertible at the time and it had been vandalized. The insurance adjuster came out and acknowledged the damage but then proceeded to act very unprofessional (e.g. he shoved his entire arm in the damaged hole and flopped around trying to demonstrate that it would be pretty hard to get to the door handle and made several personal comments that left me feeling uncomfortable in this less than professional encounter).
I then spoke with the adjustment department and was told that they would cover half of the top but not the other half. They stated that the other side had normal wear on it and would not be covered in the expenditures. However, I have never seen only half a convertible fixed and was told that they would do nothing else. I was completely fine with them fixing my one side as it was gaping but nothing could be done. I had asked around and all conclusions were to replace it because that single hole could not be fixed without replacing the entire top. I took a few days to consider my options. However, they took it upon themselves to close the claim before that time and sent me a check in an amount that I never agreed to, to my address.
I had been fighting with these dreadful adjusters for about a week (probably longer) until one day I just decided to get a new car. Long story short, I continued with State Farm until my policy just got bumped up again for no reason whatsoever. I was now going to be paying $281 a month (3 speeding tickets in the past 3 years nothing more). I was done with that. I just got off the phone with Geico and will be paying $144 a month for the same coverage and the same tickets listed. No brainer. I am a CPA who works for a firm but have a small private tax practice. In November of 2011 I contacted my State Farm agency owned by Thomas McLaughlin in Bristol, PA. I spoke to a woman named Sue **. I requested an Errors and Omissions policy to insure myself in case I make an error or am sued by a client for malpractice. I provided a specific example. Sue ** informed me that she could provide me with a policy to cover me for any errors and omissions and then some. I specifically requested an Errors and Omissions policy for malpractice claims. I paid for the policy before I received the policy.
At some point down the road I performed a policy review. I was watching a Suzy Orman show and she suggested performing a review of insurance policies annually. Taking her advice, I reviewed my policy and called Tom McLaughlin's State Farm agency and spoke to Sue **. I expressed concern that I may not be covered under the policy. Sue ** assured me I was covered for errors and Omissions. She even showed me a section in the policy labeled Errors and omissions. I questioned whether the clause related to malpractice. I provided her with a detailed example. The agent assured me the policy covered the example I provided.
On Feb. 26 of this year, I notified Tom McLaughlin's office that a claim will be filed against me. On Saturday March 5, 2016 I received notice from Small Claims Court to appear April 1, 2016. I called Tom McLaughlin's office on Saturday morning March 5, 2016. Mr. McLaughin answered the phone. I informed him that I had received an order to appear in Court on April 1, 2016. His response was "Mr. ** you may not be covered for this claim under your policy.” He had not even seen the complaint from the court. I e-mailed him the complaint file with the court. I explained that I requested an errors and Omissions policy at the time of purchase, performed a policy check in the future and was assured I had coverage for claims of malpractice, errors and omissions. Mr. McLaughlin told me he would be back to me Monday March 7, 2016 with an answer as to whether my claim was denied or not.
I never received a call from Mr. McLaughlin, nor have I received a definitive answer as of today March 17, 2016. I was forwarded to a claims person. Her name is Lisa **. Her contact number is **. She was the second or third representative. Ms. ** stated she forwarded my claim to another department which handles claims such as mine. I requested to speak to the person in the other department handling my claim. She refused to provide such data. Tom ** of Mr. McLaughlin’s office state he had the same result. On March 16, 2016 I tried to call Lisa **. She did not pick up her phone. I called every five minutes until she did. Ms. ** stated there was no information available on my claim. I told her that is unacceptable. The policy is less than 10 pages long and they have had enough time to review my policy.
Ms. ** asked me if I would be available tomorrow (meaning March 17, 2016) to speak with a person from this other department who is supposedly handling my claim. Lisa stated that a person from this other department would give me a call today, March 17, 2016 at 1:15PM. I never received any such call. Ms. ** lied to me since I never received a call at 1:15 or anytime on March 17, 2016. In Summary a State Farm Rep misrepresented the policy she sold me as containing Errors and Omission coverage for malpractice claims against me.
Now I have a claim against me. The owner says I may not be covered. I purchased the policy under the assumption I was purchasing an errors and omissions policy. I also feel State Farm is not acting in good faith by ignoring me and my claim. I have a court date of April 1, 2016 and nothing has been done since March 1 according to the State Farm website. State Farm is acting in bad faith and misrepresented the policy sold to me contained coverage for my errors and omissions for my small tax practice. I had my car repaired by Service King. The reason I used them is because that's who State Farm suggested that I use. The car had been ran into a ditch. Service King kept asking which side did it hit. Well who knows. It was ran into a ditch. I'm sure it hit both sides. This happened in July 2014. The reason it's taking me so long to report the work, is because I was in a motorcycle accident, and have been in and out of hospital. When I did feel like trying to get it fixed right. Service King, makes you wait two weeks just to make an appointment. Then three days to look at it. I didn't have that much time to leave my car. Now since then the two brand new tires that Service King put on up front, have worn completely out. So I ended up buying new tires.
Well the place I bought the tires finally found out that the control arm is bent. And that's why the car pulls and rattling underneath. On top of that, the front clip nose piece was never fixed. The car rattles like an old beat up car. Before all of this the car drove perfect. Long story short. State Farm and Service King are working together. And they aren't going to open the case back up to fix the damage that was never fixed right in the first place. I'm trying to post this wherever I can to let people know, to be aware of how State Farm works with these body shops, that are recommended by them. I'm so upset. I had a terrible experience with State Farm insurance. I got in an accident over 40 days ago, and it has still not been resolved. The adjuster took 13 days to come take a look at my car, and then after they miscalculated the damage and had to keep adding on for days. I went to pick it up and found out, after pressing them for half an hour, that none of the airbags and the seatbelt did not work. It had been covered up the whole time so they would not have to pay for it, as we found out later. Not only was this extremely irresponsible, but State Farm would have been 100% liable if I had driven off and got in an accident.
The adjuster Eric who was going to give us the final OK on the car refused to take responsibility and said he couldn't do anything about it. This whole 40 days has been a nightmare (and still is ongoing), with hundreds of phone calls, lies, and "miscommunications," and delays, and we obviously aren't taking back a car that is unsafe and worthless without functioning airbags and seatbelt. When I tried to get State Farm to pay for my damage they said they couldn't because the policy owner would not return calls to confirm fault. State Farm indicated they needed to try to reach the person for 14 days, after which they would elevate the claim process to a higher level. Note that the accident report from the State Police was filed 1 week after the accident and confirmed all the facts described previously.
After 14 days, I checked on the status and nothing had advanced but they referred me to a person who would initiate handling the claim at the higher level. That person indicated they would continue to try contact the person and even SEND A PERSON TO KNOCK ON HER DOOR! If they had still not contacted her after 30 days they would CONSIDER whether they could process the claim based on the accident report. I have been with State Farm insurance for over 30 years. I have NEVER had an issue with them. Pay my bills on time and have insured many vehicles and homes over the past 30 years. So now in my senior years I have decided to travel and stay a bit in places to find out where I want to retire. I am lucky that my work has taken me to a few states in the past year. The problem started when I rented an apartment in Oregon and got rental insurance. I was HARASSED for about 2 weeks with phone calls with agents calling me wanting to know what I was doing with the house.
When I told them that my son was going to live in the house and I would be paying for it. The agent started to questioning me on how old my son was and was it legal to leave him. He is 25 years old and a college student. I help out by paying the mortgage so he can attend college. WHAT BUSINESS is it for State Farm to know my personal life. I pay the mortgage and the insurance. After two weeks of me going all the way to the owner of the franchise I got the issue resolved. I was pretty much called a liar.
Now 9 months later I am in Texas. I made the MISTAKE (and don't do this if you don't want to be harassed) of changing my address online. Within three days after (and I hadn't even made it to Texas yet) I get harassing emails threatening to cancel my insurance unless I call and tell them what I am doing and my intent. I would think that as a mature adult I would call and let them know when I arrived in Texas OR they would see that I have another rental insurance policy and cancelled the other one. Now I have been receiving more THREATENING CALLS STATING THEY WILL CANCEL MY HOMEOWNER'S POLICY IF I DON'T call them back and tell them what I am doing with my house. Why would anything change? And if it did I would have notified them. I don't need babysitting. Looking for another company.

When I went online to check my account it said it was still in the underwriting process. I called and the rep said sometimes it takes a couple of days. I checked back a week later and realized they raised my premium without telling me. I called to cancel and to find out why I was not notified that my premium would be increased. The rep I spoke to said he would cancel and refund my money.
It has now been two weeks and 6 phone calls later. I have not received my money and I recently found out the rep only canceled the policy on one car instead of both. Today I called and the rep said only one car was processed and she did not know when the other would be done. I have tried complaining through the proper channels but it has not worked. All I want is my money back and to have nothing more to do with that company. Currently they are still billing me for one of my cars even though I canceled a week ago.
Updated on 03/04/2016: As an update to my ongoing battle with this insurance company: I was just informed that even though I purchased my insurance policy on the 11th they did not update the actual price until the 19th. They sent me no notices. I found out on the 22nd that my policy had been increased and cancelled immediately. Now they are saying I am not entitled to a full refund because they covered me from the 11th. So I said how bout I get my money back from the 19th. Nikki in underwriting said they could not do that because even though they finished processing on the 19th it still actually goes back to the 11th.
Now my questions are: Why does it take 8 days to get a motor vehicle report and update my policy? Why was I not notified of the change in policy amount? Why am I still receiving mail from State Farm as though I am still insured by them? Why is it taking so long to get this resolved? How far are they willing to go with this because I see no other option but to take it to court? I already have a full-time job, can someone please take over and resolve this before it gets any messier than it needs to get?

My wife had severe bruising all over abdomen area and was taken to hospital. We both saw doctor and chiropractic and we both have a herniated disc. We need to take injections in our neck in future. We have 14k in medical bills and 9 months later State Farm only wants to pay for medical bills and no pain and suffering and pay for our injuries. They are a horrible company that refuses to compensate us fairly. Looks like the lawyer is gonna have to take them to court. A lawsuit against State Farm is the only way we will ever be treated with dignity and respect.

Not happy with their cancellation system. Have been with State Farm for over 30 years. Our teenage son is now considered high risk because of two traffic violations so they cancelled him. Was told they only insure premium drivers so we cancelled everything (home, jewelry & auto) on 2/19/16. Their system adds one day to ensure no lapse in coverage. I assured them we were completely covered on 2/19 so they could use that date. Didn't budge. They also took the monthly premium out of my checking account 3 days after I cancelled. When I called about it, they assured me I would get a refund check for the days not used. I asked if it would be from the 19th or 20th and she said 20th. This is truly unacceptable. It should be from the 19th. I am an adult and very capable of determining my cancellation date. I tried locating an email to the corporate office, but didn't find anything.

I have been with State Farm for over 25 years. The problem started when after many years of one car drove in summer one in winter. When I would call to take car 1 off car 2 would be put on. This had been done for several years. I ended up in a hail storm and hydroplanes into a Jersey barrier totaling my car. Thus finding out at that point they had taken car 1 off failing to put car 2 on. Instead gave my kids 2000.00 car full coverage. They REFUSED to make good on their error leaving me with pax and driver medical bill.
NOW JUMP 4 years later. I have 4 cars insured. 2 of the cars were not to have collision. After totaling a car that I had insured for maybe 6 months we find out that NONE OF OUR CARS had collision. We had specifically asked about collision for this particular car Jaguar XKR and a Corvette Convertible. Neither had collision. I am appalled that after close to a 30-year relationship as well as my parents being 30 plus customers they say it's our error and we eat over 20,000.00 in cost. Could their agent possibly make a mistake? Only the customer gets it wrong!
I'm thinking a Divorce is in order. How many people have I recommended to them and how much money have I paid out in premiums as well as my parents? Homeowner policy's, multiple cars kids and they put a price on what the relationship is worth. Sooo Saaad! I'm still hopeful that they will do the right thing. Crossing fingers. Will keep you updated. Do they have my backache? Hopefully they will restore my trust. We shall see.

State Farm Review: I have had auto insurance through State Farm for most of my life because my parents had State Farm on all of their cars and house adding the Million Dollar Umbrella for extra protection and assurance. Well let me begin, I had an auto accident in 2009 where I was struck by an uninsured driver. She rear ended me at a low speed but caused some back and neck pain which I had treated by the local chiropractor. After completion of my care I was left with a sore shoulder. Upon MRI of the shoulder it showed that was having some degeneration that required surgery.
Fast forward 2016. Yes, 7 years later State Farm has finally settled the claim. After telling me that the injury was not caused by the accident and that my lost wages were not part of the losses and that my case was worth ZERO to them. I had lost wages at $90K and a need for surgery at 50K with pain and suffering for 7+ years. My parents paid State Farm premiums for 45+ years with possibly 2 claims for a maximum of about 5K. After some prodding, State Farm offered 10K to settle this case, half went to the lawyers. I got 5K and after 7 years of pain, I am still suffering. That's right, State Farm did not pay for my surgery or lost wages.
If you have State Farm or are thinking about having them as your insurance company, think twice. My advice to you is to cancel your policy and find a better more reliable insurance company or not to make the mistake of choosing State Farm in the first place. Let me be clear: State Farm is a possibly the worst insurance company available for consumers to buy. Do not let them steal your premiums while not providing you peace of mind through the assurance of insurance. The assurance that you will be made whole if you have a loss that has been insured through their company. Short of this assurance, you have purchased nothing and will get nothing when you need it most. Thanks. Protect yourself and your families.

I am an international student from China. I am a currently student at University at Buffalo. My car was broken down in the US-219 Hamburg, NY, 14075 on Friday afternoon around 2:00. Then I called my insurance company "State Farm". They sent a towing and towing my car to 252 Main Street Hamburg, NY, 14075. Then we did a second appointment on Friday evening around 5:00 pm. We scheduled the towing service towing my car from 252 Main Street Hamburg, NY, 14075 to Auto Max (1871 Hertel ave, Buffalo, NY, 14214) by 9:30 am, February 13, 2016. At that point, I could have my car fix by that day. And I only have one car, so that I could drive to school and pick up my wife. After I did the towing payment through State Farm. I got a receipt shows clearly request.
But when I got Max auto on 9:30 February 13, 2016 I didn't see my car. And I didn't have any explanation about why is my car not reached by time as receipt shown. So, I start to making call to State Farm insurance company to ask where is my car. They gave me a phone number that I believe from towing company. So I start calling the number that they gave to me. At first, the other side of the phone didn't pick up. After few calls a guy pick up the phone and just said he is super busy and will call me back in 20 minutes. After about one and half hours. There is still nobody call me. So I called that number back. I asked why he didn't call me back. He said he is busy, and he asked me where is my car. I was confused and asked him did the insurance company talk to him. He went out some F words and I hung up the phone.
Then I called the State Farm again. They said they will call the towing service and the car is on the way. The car should be in the designation in about one and half hours. I waited for two hours and I didn't saw my car. So I called State Farm and ask why my car is still not arrived. After I explained everything all over again they said they will connect with towing service and call me back in 25 minutes, but they didn't. After two hours I call them again and explained everything all over again. They said they will connect with towing service and call me back in 20 minutes but they didn't. After another almost 2 hours I called the State Farm again and explained all over again. They said they already changed the towing service and the car is on the way, it will be here in one hour. But it never shows up.
Then I made another call for ask, just like before, I had to explained everything all over again. Then I had been told they can't connect with driver. They are not sure where the car is. They want us to make sure where is the car. I called Firestone and they closed. So there is nobody picked up. When I tried to call the insurance back my third phone is run out of battery. So I have to ask my friends "pick us up to my house." That was from 9:30 am to almost 8:00 pm. The entire day was wasted and my car is missing. Nobody knows where is my car.
I called State Farm again on February 14 2016. After I explained all over again. They said they could find out where my car is. And they gave me two numbers that might towing my car. I called them and they said they didn't towing my car. I called back to State Farm and they said they called the towing service too. And they don't know where is the car neither.
I told them it's not my fault and they didn't do their work to help me as my insurance company. I can't get my car fix because they didn't management my car to reach the place. I paid services and when I had a hard time they are not trying to help. I don't have a ride for school because their fault. And even now, they don't know where my car is. I need them to provide free rental car for me until my car get to the place like the receipt says. They said they will make a claim and I can call them back in two hours to ask decision. They also said they will report to police and see if they could find the car.
So, I waited two hours and called them back. After I explained everything all over again. They said they didn't report to police and still no one knows where my car is. Then I asked about rental car service. They said my insurance didn't coverage rental. I said "I understand I didn't pay for the rental, but the reason I am asking you to coverage my rental has nothing to do with the insurance policy I choose. The reason I need you to response is, I paid the towing service through State Farm system." The contract is to towing my car to Max auto by 9:30 am February 13 2016. And facts are not only my car did not show up, but also it is missing. Nobody knows where it is. And my insurance company told me they are sorry to hear that but they have nothing to do with any responsibility.
So, I have some points to make here. 1. As I know, the State Farm is a big company. Don't they have a file to their customers for their report? Because every time I call them, I have to explained everything all over again. And I will be transfer from customer service to "zero". Then I will be transferred to supervisor. Each time I will have to explained all over again. And I have talked to CAP, Isaac, Riana, Heidi, Jacob and other ten plus services. They have no idea what is going on and there is no claim for them to read.
2. In the end of today, I still have no idea where is my car. And they don't want to pay responsibility for my inconvenience. There is no response to discuss how to solve this problem. So, this made me think the State Farm don't have that ability as an insurance company to help their customers. What I have paid for last year, is not going to help me when I really need.
3. As an international student, I am small. I am not sure what will american citizens do in this kind of situation. But I don't want to just wait here and walking to school at frozen morning and let my wife do the same thing. It's not about I am angry. I just want to have a reasonable explanation and a reasonable settle down from the company I paid.
Because English is not my first language. And I have thinking a lot during this work, in that case I might have some problems with the grammar or vocabularies, I am really sorry if read it is bothering you. I am here to asking help, what should I do? Is it unreasonable for my request? Also I am considering those people might having same issues like me and they don't know what should they do neither. I hope there is a place we can turn to for asking help. Thanks for your time, and regards!

So now every time I try to get another insurance my payments are higher because of that claim that I never even used .

I had auto insurance through State Farm through my parents, who had been customers with State Farm for 40 years. Over the course of 40 years, they insured multiple cars, a boat, their home, and their life, paying premiums I'm sure added up over the course of 40 years to a small fortune. They have had, in my 25 years of life, few claims, and even fewer significant claims. I was insured myself with them for 9 years paying $1,300 a year in premiums (that's right, $11,700) and only one claim worth $1,500 (a gross margin to State Farm of $10,200, or 87%).
Then, over the course of 18 months, someone swiped my car in a parking garage and two people damaged my parent's car. My claim was $1,500 and the two claims of my parent's were under $3,000 combined. State Farm dropped us. After 40 years. After thousands of dollars of premiums. After the insurance adjuster told us not to worry "these are small claims, your premiums won't go up." I will never conduct business with State Farm Insurance again. The purpose of insurance is to use it. To drop us after all of those years is absolutely unconscionable. Go with an insurance company that will have your back when you actually need them.

I purchased a car in mid October of 2015 from a car dealer and got my car insured right there thru State Farm. This is in New York. 2 weeks later, I was called by the agent at State Farm and asked for several forms of proof of residence. I sent them in. 2 weeks after that, I received a letter from State Farm stating that my insurance was being cancelled 11-19-15. I called the broker and he told me that it was because I had not provided enough pieces of proof of residence and I needed to send him 2 more before the cancellation date (which was 4 days later) in order for him to submit it to the underwriting department. I asked him again what else I could possibly send, having already submitted several documents of proof of residence. The broker told me he would speak to his manager and get back to me. Calls to his office over the next several days were not returned.
I called the local State Farm office where I live and explained this entire situation to the manager of this local office - Jessica **, daughter of the broker. She told me to file a complaint with State Farm thru their 800 number and she would be happy to be my broker if I wished to switch my insurance to her father's office. I called the 800 number at State Farm and they created an investigation/file and gave me a reference # and based on the date - cancellation date being the next day, promised to get back to me by the next day with an answer. State Farm did not get back to me the next day. I called the broker again... several times rebuffed by someone in the office telling me that the broker was not there. Then I got a call back from them, not the broker, but someone in their office.
They told me that yes, my insurance had been terminated that day and advised me to get insurance somewhere else and that I was in violation for not having insurance and I should have sent in a copy of my tax returns with my address as proof of residence. And when I told them, "are you kidding me? The year before, I lived somewhere else, I would not have my new address on my last year's tax returns" their response was, "you should have thought about it." After this incredulous conversation, I called back the local State Farm again, Bill ** in Farmingdale, where I live. I spoke to Herbert, who had already been apprised of the situation by Jessica, the manager. He insured me thru his office, took my credit card info, charged me and sent via email my temporary ins. Card. This was followed up the next day by me, going to the office and they taking pictures of my car and me, once again submitting proof of residence to this office.
On that Monday, I went back to the office to meet my agent, Herbert and to give him additional pieces of proof of residence. Herbert scanned the copies, placed them in his system and told me, that everything was good and that I would be receiving a letter within the next several days from State Farms underwriting department that everything was cleared and my insurance carrier was accepting me. Two days later, I received my hard copy of my policy with my insurance cards. 3 days later on a letter dated 12/4/15, I received a letter from the underwriter at State Farm, telling me that my insurance would be terminated, effective 12-27-15.
Upon receipt of this letter, I immediately called Herbert, who assured me that I was insured and that it was just a letter that had crossed prior to underwriting receiving all my documentation from him. I told him, that after what had happened the last time, I was concerned that this was so. He said he understood my concerns and that he would call underwriting and confirm everything was good and call me back. He called me back within the hour and told me that he had spoke to underwriting and it was just a letter that crossed and my insurance was not being cancelled and all was good.
On January 27, 2016, I received a letter dated January 22, 2016 from the NYS DMV informing me that they were notified by State FARM that as of 12-27-15, my liability insurance was terminated with State Farm and that, I need to provide proof of insurance with another company and or turn in my plates and my drivers license can be suspended.... and so on.
I immediately called State Farm. The office called me back and assured me that I am insured and Herbert, who was not in the office was aware of this and it was taken care of and that he would call me on Monday. He did not call me on Monday, so I called him. He put me on hold, came back a moment later and said "oh Looks like your insurance was cancelled". I raced down to his office where he and then his manager Jessica, Bill **'s daughter went into damage control and denied telling me that I was insured and said I was no longer a customer and needed to leave their office. Immediately went to State Farm's 800 number and opened up an investigation, with urgent and immediate attention needed. This was on February 3rd.
No response by the 4th, a second call into State Farm with their reference #. They are working on it and tell me they have all my information including my documenting of the phone calls and conversations back and forth between me and Herbert and the local State Farm office. I get a call back from them at 4 pm on February 5th telling me that underwriting is not reinstating my policy and according to underwriting, they never received any documentation of proof of residence for me. And I am further told that Jessica and Herbert are claiming that I was fraudulently trying for a lower rate of insurance by saying I lived in a different location than I actually lived!
State Farm opened up another investigation into this and told me that it will take up to 5 business days to get an answer. So. Here I sit with a 25,000 car, that has no insurance on it. I have a possible suspension of my drivers license - AND I drive for a living! Does Major Lawsuit against State Farm seem out of the question? Does loss of license to broker insurance for Bill ** seem out of line? I have been driving this car, unbeknownst to me uninsured for over a month? One major accident away from costing me my car, and my livelihood?

After 4 contacts with the company I was told that they would do nothing because "liability had not be determined".
I called my agent Sean Sorensen of Lakewood who is also with State Farm. I made a claim regarding some strong winds had pushed over my fence recently. When Hurricane Ike came through a few years ago, SF lost their shirt and then decided to discourage the average person from making claims by doubling the deductibles for wind damage. So they told me that out of a $4200 claim they would pay $290. Nice work if you can get it, huh? Although State Farm accepted the liability, they refused to pay for the damage to the bumper because it has some previous scratches, which are totally cosmetic and was decided as "prior damage" by them. I happen to have two photos to show the damage to the front bumper: one taken several days before and one right after the accident. They asked me to send the photos via an email address: statefarmclaims@statefarm.com. I tried twice. The first time, the customer service said they did not successfully receive the photos. The second time, the customer service said the photos came in black and white. They were not able to use them as evidence.
Except for this, they state that it usually takes 24 hours for your photos to be received and there will be someone following up the case once they see the photos. However, this never happened to my case!! I always had to call them after waiting for a couple of days and be transferred several times until someone could really discussed the case with me. This is all so outrageous! I don't understand why it takes so long for a modern company to receive emails. I don't know how large the chance is for the colorful photos to be received in black and white if they are using a modern email service. This kind of thing never happen in my life!!! NO RESPONSE OTHER THAN PHONE CALL WITH NO FOLLOWUP. After 40 years I will suggest to any educated customer to never do business and demand an accounting of my multiple accounts.

My wife was rear-ended... a police-documented NOT AT FAULT accident. Regardless, State Farm increased our car insurance rates more than 30%. After we won subrogation from the car crash - which was obvious and inevitable - State Farm said that they will lower our rates but not until the next six-month billing period. And, we were told that we will not get reimbursed for the rate increase after the crash. When I ask my local SF office to "solve this" for me, they just blamed the underwriters and said that there's nothing they can do. When I ask SF for our new/upcoming rates, they just say, "something like they were before the accident." They will not (cannot) give me the new rates, and once again they just blame the underwriters. I've been a State Farm customer for 30 years. It's time to move on...

I've been with State Farm insurance for over 25 years. In October, I bought a new car, and started shopping for a new insurance carrier because the quotes at State Farm got very high after I added my new car and a new driver to the policy. I sent State Farm a letter from my new insurance carrier (close to $2000/year cheaper for nearly the same coverage) on October 12th informing them of our new policy for three cars and condo insurance. Received a reimbursement check for my Condo insurance right away, but nothing for the auto insurance on three cars. We called in November and again in December. In January, we received checks that reimbursed only from November, not October when we acquired other insurance! We've been getting the runaround from Henry ever since we changed carriers, and are still waiting for the balance owed over three months later!

I was contacted shortly after I posted several complaints. State Farm did come through. They were able to give us fair compensation on our vehicle that we feel is totaled. We were just looking for good communication and a fair resolution. In the end, it all worked out. I understand they have policies they have to abide by but I'm glad they pulled through for us. I am relieved to have this ordeal behind us now.

In my situation, we didn't have a choice. My husband was a witness to an auto accident that got pushed into our car and totaled it. That was on November 20th 2015. Their client is 100% at fault and we were using a rental until 1/13/2016. Our car is not repairable and we have not received compensation. Our car was paid for and had liability insurance. There were two cars that were totaled, separate from the driver at fault. The driver only has $25k coverage and we were told the other car (since it was a new rental vehicle) will get $23k out of the $25k. So that leaves us with $2k for our 2012 Honda Civic! You better be kidding me! On top of that, State Farm apparently waived insurance on the rental and we were just charged $723.10 from HERTZ to cover the insurance on the stupid rental we would have never got if ANYONE would have disclosed that information.
On top of that.... we were also told that any of the costs State Farm paid for our rental during the time we had it would be deducted from what we would get for our totaled car! State Farm, you suck! It's off to court we go. We aren't left with any other options. We'll spend $10k plus on an attorney with the hopes we'll get our attorney fees paid for. Unless we receive resolution that is fair soon, I will go everywhere to tell our story.

On 12-22-2015 a motorist insured by State Farm ran into the rear of my wife's car. The local police department was called to the scene and both drivers gave statements. The motorist insured by State Farm told my wife and police officer that it was her fault and the report stated she was at fault. On 12-22-2015 my wife contacted our insurance company. She was told to file a claim with State Farm, since the other motorist was at fault. The local police department stated the official police report would be finalized in 10 working days. On 12-30-2015 a police report was scanned and faxed to State Farm. On 12-30-2015 my wife spoke to the State Farm claim adjuster. He told her that State Farm did not recognized local police reports and she need to tell him in detail what happened. He told her that State Farm would review liability within 24-36 hours after contacting their insured motorist.
On 01-07-2016 my wife was told that State Farm assumed liability 100% and that she needed to select a local repair shop for an estimate. On 01-12-2016 an estimate was faxed to State Farm. On 01-15-2016 State Farm informed my wife the car was "totaled". My wife was told that State Farm wanted to settled the claim as soon as possible. State Farm stated they would have the car picked up at our home on 01-18-2016 and would send a check on 01-15-2016 to one of their local agents next day UPS with a delivery on 01-18-2016. On 01-18-2016 State Farm had a towing company pick up our car. No check was received by the local agent. On 01-19-2016 I contacted local agent & left messages with State Farm. No check was received by local agent.
On 01-21-2016 I contacted local agent & left messages with State Farm. No check was received by local agent. Received call from State Farm and was told check had been shipped. On 01-22-2016 UPS tried to deliver check but address was incomplete. No check was received by local agent. On 01-25-2016 my wife received a call from a different local agent and was told that a check was received. Summary: State Farm did a terrible job of settling this claim. My wife and I had to continue contacting State Farm to push this claim. They did not contact us about the claim. We received false or partial information. Instead of 1 to 2 days to receive the check, it took 1 week. Very poor service!

I purchased insurance on my vehicle and added upgrades. I purchased the upgrades used off of craigslist. I called my agent and asked if they could be place on my insurance policy. She said, "sure no problem" and asked did I have to provide receipts for my purchase. I explained to her that I did not get a receipt and asked if that would be an issue. She said, "no just drive it to my office and you can take pictures, that is all I need to insure your upgrades."
I went out of town in about 8 months ago and my vehicle was stolen. That is when State Farm sent me through the wringer. I was told unprofessional comments and had to do two recorded sworn statements and I had to hire an attorney, because State Farm has not told me anything on my claim. I have recommended seven other customers that have more than one policy. So my advice to anyone who makes upgrades do not add them to your policy unless you have receipts or you may have a problem.

I leave the office and file the claim online. 2 weeks no response. I call. they say they never received a claim! Refile over the phone another. Rep says I get the car fixed, get a rental in the meantime. Everything is set up. That's a lie!
I pay State Farm every month and I do all the work! I file the claim. I make the appointments. I do the drop offs. I'm inconvenienced! Then they won't reimburse the deductible and I could wait a year for it! What kind of insurance is this! I could go anywhere and get treated like nothing! So I post a very negative review and get a call in less than 24 hrs! Rep tries to explain because of my insurance package and the state law they can't reimburse me for my deductible! Well which is it? Because there is no package that will allow me to be reimbursed in the state of IL. I'm switching as soon as the policy is over!

I was hit by a customer of State Farm. They took responsibility for the wreck. They gave me a list of body shops I could take my vehicle with who they have contracts with. Took my vehicle to a Ford dealership that was on the list to get estimate and they wrote on there that they had to replace front bumper because it had broken tabs that keep the bumper in place. I decided to take the vehicle to a different body shop. State Farm told me that I would have to drive 40 miles so that one of their reps could write an estimate. Their rep said that they just wanted to fix the front bumper. I told him that the Ford dealership that they have a contract with recommended replacing it and he said the Ford dealership would have to use his estimate.
I talked with the reps supervisors and explained that trying to fix a bumper that has broken tabs was not acceptable to me. I told him that trying to fix tabs on bumpers in stress areas on the edges next to the wheel wells were not going to hold and would come loose eventually. He said there was nothing I could do about it and that I could report it to the State Agency in charge of complaints. It is only like $150 difference between doing the right thing or being a cheapskate and trying to fix it. Very disappointed in State Farm. Never thought that they would stoop so low in trying to save a buck.

I got a call this morning (Saturday) from them asking me where my car was. Aren't they supposed to know that? I also needed tools out of the car for my son so he can go to work Monday morning. I was hung up on three times, put on hold, then told someone would call me right back, never happened. I waited some time and called them back. Guess what, they were now closed. Our rep came right out as soon as we entered the parking lot, and he took pictures of our truck. And told my dad he would get started on it right away. And sure enough not even a week later, the guy that hit us ended up paying for our damage to our truck. As his rental car insurance company called our company and the two discussed it and looked over photos and determined he was at fault. And no later than that, our truck was fixed, and back to running.

However, the claims dept is trying to say it is lack of maintenance. The RV was purchased in 2013. Fall of 2014 there appeared a slight dent. Spring of 2015 the dealer where it was purchased said "it's normal wear and tear". Fall of 2015, the dealer states "you have a leak". Who's fault is it??? If a spouse is cheating, did it start when you found out, or was it earlier? The claims dept is wanting a specific date, were there storms? Hail? We get that all year... I have been a loyal State Farm customer for years! Never had anything major happen but I've always gotten great service from my broker. On December 7th I called in to State Farm to get some roadside assistance. They sent a tow truck out and to my utter disbelief, the gentleman did not tie the car down properly and my car flew off the tow truck. Brake fluid splattered all over the street from the botched rigging of the car by the brake calipers. The brake line was completely pulled out defaulting the ABS system. I took pictures, I had several witnesses there, I sent over receipts that I had a warranty on the ABS as I had it replaced a few years back and even letters from the mechanic. State Farm says it never happened. It was wear and tear that caused the issue. One rep called and went over the documents and pictures I provided.
Today a rep called and said they have nothing and no receipts were ever sent. I emailed the broker- Terry ** in Brentwood, California - and his nasty reply was he already sent it. I know common sense isn't a given but if I have a warranty on a part until 2017 why would I waste my time arguing with a shady company about fixing it if it's wear and tear? BECAUSE IT ISN'T. And I find it extremely unethical for STATE FARM to encourage for the sake of denying a claim, someone to attempt to defraud the warranty company when the part was BROKEN BY THE BOTCHED TOW! I never in my life have experienced this level of service. Despite my feeling, right is right and I have reported STATE FARM to the Department of Insurance for an investigation. BEWARE OF STATE FARM!

I have been a State Farm customer for over 50 years & was pleased with their service up to now. I had an accident in Lancaster PA with my 40' diesel pusher motorhome in October, that caused to oil pan to be damaged along with damaging the engine because of loss of oil. There was also some body damage. I drove home to Florida in the car I had been towing with the RV.
When almost home I was told the RV would probably be salvaged, even though it was worth $100,000. I drove my car back to Lancaster & rented a truck to retrieve all the stuff we had in the RV. Since then I have been trying to work with State Farm claims handlers. Every time I call I am put on hold, for up to 10 minutes or more, & then get connected to a claims handler, a different one every time, who needs to read through the claim every time & I have to explain that this is not a car, since that is all they seem to understand.
The last time I called the handler hung up because I used the term ** for what he was telling me. I called back three more times & asked to speak to a manager & was put back into the queue for another 10 minutes & then was answered by another claims handler who knew nothing about my call. I hung up & went to my agent in Boynton Beach, Dave **, but he was already gone before noon on New Year's Eve & his ineffective office staff said they get the same wait & treatment from the claims handlers. I told them to tell Dave that State Farm is losing a good customer because of poor handling by the claims handlers.
The claims handlers do nothing on their own initiative. I had to keep calling to get them to do anything. The engine damage had to be evaluated by FreightLiner Trucks & I wanted the body damage to be evaluated by an RV dealer, but they insisted FreightLiner could do it & now we are waiting on them both to resolve the body damage issue & then make a decision about the repairs in general. State Farm should assign a single claims handler in situation like this where it is not just an ordinary auto claim. I am very dissatisfied with their claims handling for an RV like this. I get very frustrated explaining this each time I call for an update. Do not use State Farm to insure an RV.

Got auto insurance for lesser price compared to other insurance companies and not only the price, with more coverage and house insurance. During my vacation they helped me paying very minimal amount by disabling all other coverages. That saved some money as I am not going to drive during that time.

They have a local office which I love and anytime I need to ask them a question I call or go to the office and they answer quickly. They have never done anything wrong to me and they provide good coverage at a good price and when and if vehicle gets wrecked they pay for it very easily, writes a check directly to the body shop where I get it fixed. Everything has been very simple.

After checking a lot of insurance companies State Farm offered the best coverage for the price, so far no other company has been able to meet or beat their price. Me and my girlfriend have two vehicles on our policy plus renters insurance and like I said no company has been able to come close to the price that State Farm gives us.

I have been with State Farm for over 20 years and I have always been very pleased with the company. My agent for years (he is retired now) was fantastic every time we needed him. Very helpful. They were very fast for estimates and payment claims. Helpful with answering questions I had and took the time to call and ask how I was after the claim was settled. The premiums are a very good low price and as I get older the rates keep going down. As the ad on TV says "they are like a good neighbor". I couldn't ask for a better insurance company.

So far it has been good. I have not been in an accident and so I have not had to deal with them. They offered good rates due to me being a teenager who excelled at school. This allowed me to be able to start driving earlier because of the fact that my parents could more easily afford it, than if they didn't have the student discount.

State Farm is not a bad auto insurance company. I just feel as if they are quite expensive. I have been with them for around 5 years now and have only had my rate lowered twice. Once for a safe student discount, and the second time for when I turned 21. I have never had a violation and am a safe driver. I just think they should work with me a little more.

Thank God he was safe from any injury or casualty, but the passenger side of his car was badly damaged by the impact, and had to be totaled. State Farm was there to respond to his vehicle needs. While the car was in the repair shop, he was able to borrow a Camry that he can use for his daily commute, until he got his car back, as good as new.
