Policy wrote under false pretenses. I was informed when I signed up that Liberty Mutual covered part of Ridesharing that was truly not covered. I found out about this almost a year later, and I am quite upset that I was told that I was covered. I also had a rock chip repaired, and authorized before the work was done by Liberty Mutual. The work was completed. I then received a call from the claims department wanting to come inspect the rock chip repair. What company needs to inspect a $25 repair? How would one fake a repair? Besides these 2 problems, I was very happy with them. But those 2 issues were very big to me.

Company does a bait and switch with their rates. Bundled my homeowners and car insurance policies last year. Premium went from $2,209 to $3,323 on my home. Gave reasons of 1. home increase. 2. older roof. 3. new homeowner discount was taken off. 4. medical premiums have increased (just in case there is a claim on the home. AVOID THIS COMPANY. They increased my auto policy as well but it wasn't worth mentioning compared to the home policy.

In 2016 I started checking out insurance companies and call Liberty Mutual who gave me a fantastic quote. I explain to them my policy with my previous carrier did not expire until September. The man that I talked to was very nice and said that if I gave him a payment in July then he would hold the quote that I had gotten because they fluctuate so I did and in September I gave them a payment of $400 and two weeks later they took another hundred and some dollars out of my account without my permission.

After calling up and getting that straightened out I decided that I would cancel them after a year and this year when I decided to go with another company I called up and cancel my insurance and they informed me that I owed them another $266. It was a rate hike of almost $100 so after talking to the girl on the phone and telling them that I was canceling, she explained to me I still owed them $266 because they were covering me for the month before I had paid. I said well it says my bill is due on the 25th. She said yes but it was generated on the 6th so I've never heard of anything like this. I don't owe them any money and I don't suggest this company to anyone. I have done nothing but make phone calls. Try and speak to somebody that speaks English only when you're changing insurances or getting a quote. I would not recommend them to anyone.

If I could give a negative rating I would. If you want to be sued then use Liberty Mutual for your insurance, otherwise steer clear. I was in an accident 2/2016, a Liberty Mutual driver pulled out in front of me and caused a severe accident that deployed airbags. Neither vehicle could be driven away from the accident. My passenger and I were injured, we went directly to Urgent Care for treatment and we were under the care of a doctor for several months.

Liberty Mutual has been impossible to work with. We are settling the claim, but for far less than a fair amount. It is a one sided settlement, benefiting only Liberty Mutual. It really should be taken to court, but who wants that hassle. They have suggested we were over treated and have been so insulting through the whole process. We were following doctors orders and never sought treatment when we weren't in pain. I will never do business with Liberty Mutual by choice and I am hopeful I will never be forced to do business with them again.

Switched over to Liberty and bundled multi car auto, home and umbrella. First year was fine, even saved a few dollars by participating in the right track auto program where you plug in the device to monitor driving. Received maximum - 30% savings on some vehicles. Well, guess what? Time for renewal, and my rates get jacked sky high! Had no accidents, tickets, or any changes that would/should impact my rates. Called Liberty and they gave the same lame excuse... the cost of doing business in the state of Maryland has increased so we must pass the costs along. I ask why my rates have gone up so high even if that were the case and for them to provide something in writing. That request is denied.

I was told that I need to contact the MD insurance commission and request the rate increase approval. Oh, and even if you do manage to get that information, you won't be able to find a correlation to your rate increase because each customer has different coverage levels. I request to speak to a supervisor, but they gave the same response.

Long story short, the only thing I can think of is these crooks took the driving history data via RighTrack program from the vehicle in which I did NOT receive the full 30% discount for being a PERFECT driver and applied that data to all of my vehicles even though I received the full discount on the other vehicles! As a result, the rate increase wiped out all of the "rate savings" and money they refunded to me from the prior year and basically got that money back and then some by jacking up the rates. Rep claimed that my rates would have been increased DOUBLE had I not received the 30% discount on some cars. I asked them if the HUGE rate increase logically made sense for my account, but the only thing they would say was the costs went up dramatically for all customers in the state, which I know is not true.

Listen, I know you were taught even since you were little to never trust a stranger. I get it... however, please do not give this company your hard earned money or time of day. They will find a way to increase your rates a ton no matter how good of a driver you are, how many policies you have or how many cars you insure. The reviews don't lie and they will continue to increase your rates year over year just because. And guess what? Nobody can stop them because they stay in business with the steady supply of new customers who DON'T do their research first!

If you have money to blow and don't care, by all means give them a try (being sarcastic). If you are like most others, honest, hardworking, trying to pay your bills, then you don't even want to go down this road with Liberty Mutual! Even if the first year works out, do you really want the hassle of researching and switching over multiple policies when they decide to do the old bait and switch? They will jack your rates up no matter what! Please do your research and make a very informed decision before giving this company a try. I WILL BE SWITCHING MY POLICIES OVER TODAY. In fact, I wouldn't do business with them even at the reduced rates over the principal. You have been warned!!!

I filed a auto accident and the adjuster wanted to make changes to my policy and I disagreed and she got very hostile and next thing she started saying I threaten her. All lies and the Police came to my home to arrest me for threats. What the heck. They take monthly payments straight from my account and then all the hassle to file a claim. The other guy has his truck all fixed and painted. All his tools replaced and 9 months later my truck sits in the shop and the police are coming after me and the other guy hit me. Wow. I know am Hispanic and he was ** and am treated like a criminal. Wow and I pay for full coverage of what!!! And this was with Progressive and now I have Liberty and another truck with full coverage. I and this the Adjuster is the same lady from Progressive who is covering my claim and again the Police are coming looking for me. She sent them out because of our disagreement on my claim.

I don't understand. When she received my claim, seen my name, why did she not give my claim to another rep? It's because she has a angry conflict over me. This adjuster refuses to give my claim to anyone else. This is being harassed by an Insurance Adjuster. I am being pinned by this woman who is out of control. I am a family man with a premature newborn due to the accident, and they refuse to help me. When does a Insurance Company have a client arrested??? HELP. HELP. I AM IN FEAR OF MY LIFE AND BEING ARRESTED FOR THIS CRAZY LADY ADJUSTER FOR LIBERTY, just because I disagree with her. We as clients has NO SAY to our claims in a accident.

Beware. These insurance companies use non-company claim departments that are co-contracted and the adjuster are not employees of the insurance companies/freelancers and they call all shots or you will be ARRESTED. You can not express your mind or what you want from your claim. So really check out your insurance company. Make sure the claim adjusters all really work for the company or watch out, you can be her next Victim.

Butttt, we can save 30% if we allow insurance company to "monitor" our driving. Liberty is a joke and I am so disappointed in Northwell Health Credit Union. What a farce.

I have a high credit score and I have never caused an auto accident. I left State Farm because their rates in Colorado were going up steeply every year. I assume it is because of their claim payouts due to a lot of homes lost in forest fires, and a lot of hail damage claims. I switched to Liberty Mutual because their rates were almost half of what I was paying to State Farm. Then I got caught in an unethical speed trap in Alamosa, CO. You know, where there are 20 cops pulling everyone over because of a strategically placed 25 mph zone that should be a 45 mph zone. That was insult enough, because you know they are more interested in fattening the municipal treasury than they are in safety.

Then Liberty Mutual used that speeding ticket as an excuse to almost double my auto insurance premium! From $1700 a year for 4 cars to $2990 a year! This should be illegal. I'm sure other insurance carriers are not happy about Liberty Mutual stealing customers by using predatory pricing, knowing that they will find some excuse to jack the premium up by a factor of 2 at some point. I will now carefully read reviews and try to find the best price from an honest insurance company.

Their commercials are outright false advertising claims and they do exactly what they accuse other insurance companies of. They lie and steal money. Liberty Mutual does increase your premium after your first accident. They did it to me. The TV ad is intentionally misleading. It says "For drivers with accident forgiveness" your rate won't rise -- What they don't say is that you pay extra for accident forgiveness and may not even know to look for it. In my case, Liberty Mutual claimed a late inspection sticker qualified as an "accident" justifying the increase. My rate doubled. The rate increase lasted for five years and cost me many thousands of dollars.

If you have an accident already on your record and you are purchasing insurance from a new company, the rate surcharge will follow along, as a sort of "pre-existing condition". Always ask any new company how long they impose the surcharge. Most are 5 years; some three. It's the auto insurance version of medical insurance's "pre-existing condition" penalty that ended with the Affordable Care Act. The smallest accident can earn the insurance company many additional thousands of dollars over what the company pays out on the claim. Congress should outlaw these car insurance rate spiking schemes as well.

My wife and I are moving to South Carolina from Maine. We need to find new auto insurance as our present insurance only is available in several New England states. We have no tickets or at faults on our records. Twice, however, we were rear-ended, with the other parties at fault... not us. This is clearly documented in the Maine DMV reports and in the state police crash reports. We sent both certified documents to a Liberty Mutual agent at his request. I swear the man couldn't read. He insisted that we had been at fault and had received summons.

The documentation was totally clear that that simply was not the case. I called Maine DMV and the State Police crash reports department to see if there had been something I might have missed or perhaps there had been a clerical error. Nope, our record was clear. I called the agent again and pointed out specifically in the reports the data that supported our case. It was like talking to a stone wall… completely absurd and surreal. Totally exasperating! I asked to speak to agent's superior. I was told he was not available, but that he'd have him call me when he was available. Nada.

At a loss for words, I can't help but wonder what the subtext of that communication was all about. So obviously we will not be getting insurance from Liberty Mutual, but I guess it really is a blessing in disguise based on the other complaints I'm reading on this site. Strange, I had always thought they were a reputable company.

In 20 yrs I have not cost Liberty anything on car insurance but religiously they raised rates. This year they said it was because of the high rate of accidents in MD. Something that did not affect pricing of Erie, State Farm, Geico and Hartford. I now have equal or better insurance for home and auto which is less than the cost of auto insurance with Liberty. It seems they have the liberty to charge you for the cost of their advertisements.

I have had a perfect driving record with no speeding tickets or accidents. I have changed to Plymouth Rock for the same coverage the premiums of less than $900 per years. Let me mention I have an excellent driving record. Not being able to retain a quote online, or the central office or the next place they transferred me to, they finally sent me to the office in Florida. Each time they asked me for information they already had. After spending time on wait and going through a ridiculous amount of time re-answering the same questions they finally came up with their quote. 6X times more expensive than what I was currently paying. I then went to Geico online and signed up for insurance at $200 less than what I have been paying with added coverage. I guess the commercials are true. I am pressed for time, but I just finished my 90 day Right Track program. Please note I have never been in an accident, nor have I had any tickets in all my years of driving. When I signed up for this discount program, the lady at Liberty Mutual said upon successful completion, I will get a 25% discount off my monthly premium for car insurance. I contacted the company twice during the 90 days because the device kept recording episodes of 'rapidly increasing my speed' while I was in my employer's parking lot, at lunch break. Please understand these episodes happened as I backed out of my parking place, then put car into drive and drove forward through employer,s parking lot on way to lunch break. It recorded about 15 occurrences of 0 to 7.5 mph. Any reasonable person would agree 0 to 7.5 is not a rapid acceleration.

As I said, I contacted them twice, and they said the program is voluntary, and did not have a remedy for this device 'glitch'. SO... I declined the 17% discount due to lack of integrity. If anyone is in this program, or will be in this program, here is the secret to tricking this device. When you are not moving and take your foot off brake, tap it about 6 times up to the 10 mph mark on your odometer. Another secret is to not use the gas pedal at all, and allow your vehicles 'idle' to move you along. I wrote the company yesterday via email and will be returning the device this week. I let them know I would share my experience in product reviews. I hope this information will help. I have a V8 engine, I thought perhaps that was the reason for my excessive speed, LOL... 0 to 7.5 is not a rapid acceleration. Try it on your lunch break, and I'm sure you will agree. Some of my co workers believe the device is set up that way so people won't get the better price. I hope these tips help. Thank you for reading my review.

I am a student so of course I do not have the means to fight them legally. You cannot get anyone on the phone. You hear voicemails that state they will call back within 24 hours. Good luck with that! I have called several times to whomever is over the manager in claims sadly with no response. Granted my car is not brand new; but it is my car and I do have full coverage. They want to offer you nothing compared to your car's value. I have sent several comps with unfortunately not resolution. Just really bad business practices when you are paying them for a service that are you not getting especially when you have so many other providers out here. Hopefully, I will get resolution by the end of the year. I wonder how long they can keep claim outstanding without settlement.

I reached out online to Liberty Mutual to get a quote for auto insurance for my car. I've been with Allstate one year and before that was with state farm. I'm 35 years old and have been driving since age 18 and have always had insurance but have had it consecutively with no gaps at all for 2 years. I have no at fault accidents in over 5 years and no tickets, never a suspension or a DWI or anything of the sort. So I basically was shocked when the site said that it could not give me an online quote for insurance! 3 weeks later I got a denial letter from them stating that my credit score was too low to even get a quote! Funny thing is that my credit score is a 590 due to two small credit cards being maxed out, but that's not all that bad! I was able to obtain a $2,000 line of credit not 3 months back with a similar score.

I'm just utterly shocked that someone my age with a clean driving record who's maintained insurance (with premium carriers no doubt!) for years can't even get a quote from these people. Never again will I even look to them, I'm very happy with Allstate and can assure anyone reading this that I had no issue at all getting my policy through them, State Farm or Geico.

When I requested the refund I prorated on a daily basis but their amount was $130 less. Here is the BS they gave me. "When canceling your automobile policy mid-term, the return premium is calculated on a short-rate basis, resulting in a cancellation penalty charged to your account. The amount of this penalty decreases as the policy year progresses. The short-rate charge lessens as you approach the renewal date, which is 12/15/2016. I regret any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused." Be careful when cancelling.

I later called to confirm the refund was being processed and found it was sent to my previous address I sold 4 years ago. Why would this happen since they stopped insuring it 4 years ago and all bills and correspondence was being sent to my current address? At this time I requested a stop pay on that check 5/23. My request for the stop pay and refund was done in writing on 5/24.

A week later I called and spoke with a Specialist (6/1) to confirm everything was correct and at this time found the stop pay/refund was never issued. Needless to say he indicated it would take 4-6 business days from today to get a refund. It's now almost 1 month I am waiting for a refund due to poor service which is part of the reason I canceled in the first place. NEVER would I refer or recommend anyone to utilize any products represented by this company.

I have never had an accident or traffic ticket, not even a parking ticket in the past 10 years. I own a 2006 Toyota Camry and asked why was I given this expensive quote for full coverage for my car. Could not get a good explanation. I currently have full coverage through a well-known, popular insurer and only pay $1,920 per year for full coverage with ALL the bells and whistles!!! The letter I received from my CU stated Liberty Mutual would beat State Farm, Allstate and Geico! That was the biggest LIE EVER TOLD!!! I have read other reviews about Liberty Mutual and will definitely inform my credit union of the ridiculous quote that I was given! Hopefully, the CU will seek a better insurance company to solicit its members to.

I just don't like my agent. Customer service overall is a lot better than he is. The other problem that I continue to run into with this company is that no matter if you have an accident or ticket or anything else, they are continually raising the prices each year. Every part of dealing with this company was a total rip off, and when I told them I was dissatisfied they tried to intimidate me. They turned the already traumatic experience of being hit into an even worse one. I suggest getting an attorney if you are hit by someone with Liberty Insurance. I'm sure a lot of you have seen the Liberty Mutual ad on TV where they promise "first time accident forgiveness". My husband and I had insurance for them for 4 1/2 years when I was involved in a little fender bender in a convenience store parking lot where I barely tapped the front bumper of a car behind me. After this was reported to Liberty Mutual, they told me my rates would increase. I asked them "What about your advertisement on TV that promises first-time accident forgiveness?" They told me, and I quote, "You have to be with us for 5 years before that kicks in. You've only been with us for 4 1/2 years."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing! Our rates were going to increase by $300 for a 3 year period of time. I had also pointed out to them that this was my very first accident and my husband had a totally clean record, but that didn't matter to them. Needless to say, we cancelled and went with someone else who is giving us much better coverage. We had problems with them as well with our homeowners insurance. Within a matter of 3 years, our rate literally doubled. They start out with a "teaser rate" and then hit you really hard. We cancelled that policy as well. I really think something needs to be done about their very misleading advertising on TV. I did complain to the BBB but it obviously didn't do any good. DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM THIS COMPANY.

Apparently some glass damage the condenser underneath the bumper. I took the car to service king for the appraiser to authorize as advised by my claim adjuster. They then told me that the adjuster didn't look at it and had me take it to another one of their locations... because they could not get an appraiser out to Toyota. The claim adjuster told me it was only for the purpose of getting it authorized.

Explain to her that we lived in Arizona and that it was going to be over 100° so we needed the AC fixed soon as possible. I advised them that I wanted Toyota fix it. They said no problem but their adjuster had to approve it first. So once again we took the car to their designated location and got an estimate. I told them that the car would be at the Toyota dealer at 9 AM Monday which is today.

So I'm on my way to an airplane after getting a rental car and taking the car to Toyota as I told them, and they are denying the claim! They are refusing to allow Toyota to work on it. Was certified part and they want to use lower in parts and cheaper labor. I am flabbergasted! I have full coverage and I should be able to take my brand-new Toyota dealer. When I get back from out of town and get this resolved I am going to cancel Liberty Mutual as soon as this claim is processed and file a complaint with Better Business Bureau and the insurance commissioner. On February 12, 2017, I was hit by a driver that's insured by Liberty Mutual. The police came and gave the other driver a ticket for failure to yield. She was on the phone and did not see me. I called my insurance to let them know I was involved in an accident and with them on the phone, we called Liberty Mutual to file a claim. We got a claim number and was told not to worry, they will take care of everything. They gave me a name for the adjuster that was supposed to take care of my case. The next day I got a call from somebody else saying that he is my new adjuster. He asked questions about the accident and asked me if I could send him the police report once it was available. He assured me he will call me back once his investigation was completed. I waited 2 weeks and because I didn't get a call or email from him, I started calling, leaving messages and sending emails. He did not respond to any of them.

Two months later I decided to talk to a manager since it was getting ridiculous. The manager told me I would receive a call in the next few hours to resolve the situation. Nobody called me for a week. I sent another email telling them they need to fix my car. My wife was missing work because of it. Finally I got my original adjuster telling me that she will complete the investigation asap and will get back to me. She asked me to send the pictures from the accident and the police report again because the adjuster I was talking to in the beginning is not working for them anymore and they do not have that info.

A few days later I receive an email from the adjuster telling me that after reviewing the facts she decided I was partly responsible for the accident and they will only cover 70% of the damage. I told her to look at the police report once again and she told me that the police report is irrelevant. I told her that a judge might not see the situation the same way and she told me that police reports are not admissible in court. Apparently they don't know the law since in the state of Georgia, police reports ARE admissible in court. Now I will have to waste more time taking them to court so I can have my car fixed. For your own good, if possible, stay away from Liberty Mutual.

My 6 month old 2016 Volvo xc90 was totaled in a rear ended accident on 4/16/17. Customer Service is impossibly slow. The agent assigned to us was never there when called and did not respond to emails. First hurdle was Power of Attorney for paying off my loan. Voicemails, emails, asking for agent's manager, escalations, I finally got response from a different agent who helped me through the unnecessary confusion created by their documents for Power of Attorney. The notary herself had to explain to the Liberty Mutual agent why she needed all the information before she could notarize.

Next was figuring how our New car replacement works. Same lack of response and/or lack of prompt response. I qualified for the new car replacement but realized quickly that the entire statements on the policy and their website, "New Car Replacement goes further than typical gap insurance because you receive payment for a replacement that's brand new, as long as your totaled car is less than a year old and has fewer than 15,000 miles," is not a promise they are willing to keep.

After weeks of chasing down the agent, I got the answer that my totaled car value was more than a new car price and therefore they won't pay me anything for my new car replacement! I was stunned. I asked them for details on how they assessed a new car value which they said over the phone that they will send me an email with the VIN number of the new car that was assessed lower than my old car and they didn't. When questioned, I got no response. I went around Volvo dealerships and researched online. There were no 2016 new cars to start with available to be assessed. And even a used 2016 Volvo's cost came $6000 more than what they were saying is price of a new car. The policy clearly states, "A vehicle that is most similar in class and body type to the year, make, model and equipment of the damaged automobile" but the agent was saying the packages that were on my car will not be considered at all.

The whole thing feels like I didn't even purchase the new car replacement policy. They are just trying to shut me with false and ridiculous information. I talked to the PA insurance department and they recommended that I submit a complaint and that is what I did. I provided them the price of a new car that is a closest match to my car and the price of a used car that is closest match to my car. The Liberty Mutual agent was also telling me if I do not process things quickly, my requests will not go through and I was ballistic at this point since all of the delay was caused by them and told them as much as politely as I could. I submitted the complaint last night. Waiting to see what happens. I just found this site and I appreciate it greatly. Traffic was rapidly approaching from the south at speed (65 mph speed limit). In order to avoid a bad situation, I crossed out of the merge lane, across the slow lane and got into the fast lane. It appeared that the insured did not like the fact that I was no longer caught behind the slow moving log truck and he was, so he accelerated and moved out of the merge lane into the slow lane and then cut into my lane, colliding with my vehicle.

He was side by side with my vehicle so I was not in a blind spot. His driver's side tire collided with my passenger's side fender and damaged my car. The accident was on March 10th. I filed the claim the next morning and I called & emailed for weeks as well as contacting my insurance company to have them try to reach them as well. 6 days short of 2 MONTHS later they said they were denying my claim because of conflicting statements. Of course their insured would disagree, but this is why people have insurance. So when people drive into you, you are protected. This is why it is mandatory to have auto insurance. This seems illegal to not honor a claim when you're insured, crosses a lane of traffic that had a vehicle in it and causes damage to it. Shady company! Since I do my banking online I immediately sent out the payment for the full amount and sent an e-mail to my local agent asking him why he didn't contact me when I was late. It was a kidding jab at him more than a complaint. No response from him. Two weeks later I checked the mail and saw an envelope from Liberty Mutual and in the window I could tell it was a check. When I opened it I found a check against their account to me for the full amount of the auto insurance payment.

Being confused and wondering if I had accidentally paid twice or something I was getting ready to call them when I saw a second envelope. I opened it and read a letter saying they were canceling my insurance due to non-payment. WHAT THE HELL!!! When I called him on his ignorance in the nicest way possible, and gave him the number of the policy on the check stub, from Liberty Mutual, against their checking account, made out to me for the exact amount I paid to them for my policy, he then admitting he had no idea why they sent me the check back.

Then he wanted to know if I wanted to make the payment with him right then. I told him what I wanted was to pay one month and then have them bill me for the balance and at that time I would pay the full amount. I explained that I lived in the country and it was an hour from my bank and I did not want to take a 1/2 day off work to take their check to the bank to cover payment for a bill I had already paid because they sent the money back. That since it was their screw up they could accommodate me.

He refused and told me that I had to pay the full amount to stop the cancellation. He had no higher power for me to talk with and was not going to accommodate me while all the while thanking for my patience. I asked him how many days I had before the policy would be canceled and he told me 9 days. I told him, "Good. That gives me 9 days to find another carrier for my home and auto insurance." Frustrated with the thought of driving a car that couldn't transport a wheelchair, I asked the adjuster to put the claim on hold. Shortly after I received a letter notifying me Liberty had concluded I was over 50% at fault. I tried to contact someone to discuss their conclusion, how they deduced fault, especially without not having even seen my car. No response.

My daughter had 2 more hospital stays, and it was time to reopen the claim. Same issues with Liberty's shop. So I got my own estimate, in part because of a rude claims adjuster who gave me a few days before she closed the file. I also again shared my concern about transporting my daughter in her chair. One customer service rep told me to increase my rental allowance. I did, but apparently that does not apply to this incident. With 2 mobility devices, there could have been some exception made, but NO. Claims adjuster left a rude speed message in my voicemail letting me know I was at fault because I said I hit the guardrail, unavoidable sorry. And Liberty was bound by my contract to give me the rental car I was paying for. Their customer service center is wonderful, they unfortunately have no say in what's being done.

The few claims adjusters I've spoken to have been rude, and do nothing more than quote policy. After 7 years, I'll be shopping for insurance elsewhere, they are most definitely NOT disability friendly, and seem to be very good at quoting what they CAN'T do. I've had an excellent driving record my whole life, they shouldn't be allowed to change that for an unavoidable incident. They also should notify customers who may need accessible transportation what their policy actually DOES cover, and what it does not. Several phone center employees agreed, the rental should at least replace something similar to what I have, or a special allowance given. But then anyone who can decide that a flying object hitting your windshield on a dark mountain road doesn't require a motion to avoid, well I can't trust. A fail on all counts.

On Jan. 19, 2017 a Liberty Mutual customer, a Pearce Services driver, passed me from behind as I was making a left turn on a heavily traveled state highway. Pearce Services delayed reporting it to Liberty, so my insurance did. Liberty didn't respond to my calls until Jan 30th. They wouldn't get me a rental while they were investigating their liability, because the driver was disputing the facts. Their insured hit me while I was making a left turn, at an intersection, and crossing a solid yellow line to do it. Their driver is clearly at fault.

After 10 days I finally got someone in their office to answer the phone, and suddenly there's a witness that they are trying to contact. The original agent would not take any calls. I finally got his co-worker to look into the file, they reached the 'witness' on April 6th, but he said was at work and would call back. FIVE weeks later they still had not spoken to him, gotten a statement or even a callback. But they told me they were 1) actively pursuing the investigation, 2) didn't have the guys address to mail anything, and 3) wouldn't send an investigator out to take his statement because "It would cost the company money." (Her exact words), and wouldn't send the local appraiser out to get the witness to call in a statement while he was there.

After I sent complaints to both the Better Business Bureau and the California Department of Insurance, suddenly Liberty Mutual had a statement from the 'witness', and he supported the driver’s statement. I don't know who actually came up with their scenario of the accident but now "the poor innocent driver got hit by me!" Liberty Mutual knows this statement is false. The pictures of the scene that I sent shows the debris field is where I said it would be, the nurse that stopped knows what happened. I was too upset to get names, so Liberty is denying my claim based on known false testimony because I don't have any corroborating witnesses. I have reported them to the California Department of Insurance for using false statements, and am going to take everybody to small claims court. Liberty has crossed from bad business practices into criminal behaviour and they should not be allowed to get away with it.

The worst insurance company ever! If you're thinking of using them DON'T! Save yourself a headache. We had an accident on Thursday, March 30th 2017. Another Liberty Mutual customer rear-ended our 2016 Mercedes C class. We reported the accident right away and were told that someone was going to contact us within 3 days and give us more information regarding our claim. Guess what, nobody called! We called 3 times and were told our claim was still being investigated.

Finally my husband called the adjuster and sent her an email yesterday, April 3rd. Dead silence. Again, I called the adjuster today and couldn't believe she actually answered the phone. When I asked why she never called us she said she never received an email nor voice mail that we left yesterday. Then she said she called us yesterday but didn't leave a message. Really? What kind of stuff is she smoking? Now, she's telling us to provide photos of the damage so that they can figure out who's fault it was so that either our policy or the other person's policy will cover the damages. Really? We were rear-ended. We have a lot of pictures to show, I'm just wondering how come nobody from Liberty Mutual bothered to call us and tell us that they needed more info. They don't care about their customers. We have 2 houses and 2 cars insured with them. We never had any claims with them, no speeding tickets nor any violations.

I'm wondering how long it will take to get our car fixed since it took 6 days to finally get a hold of the adjuster. I wish we had read all the negative reviews before. So if you don't have Liberty Mutual but are thinking about getting insured with them, DON'T. Trust me, we'll be leaving. Taking all of our policies elsewhere. We used to have State Farm. It was more expensive but we never had to chase anyone from State Farm when we had an accident because someone run the stop sign. They called the very next day, I brought my car in to one of their locations, had damages evaluated and got my car fixed within just a few days. We never had to wait around for them to figure out which policy would pay damages, they figured it out for us while the car was being fixed. With Liberty Mutual you get what you pay for. They won't bother calling you, you have to chase them down. Now, I'm hoping the car can get fixed within the next month. Crazy!

I have insured a 2013 BMW 128i with Liberty Mutual. I had an accident where some parts need to be changed. After the appraisal was done, I was told that after market parts would be installed on my car, which I opposed as I don't want old Honda parts on a BMW car. I called my adjuster, Vivian **, and told her my concern and she said that the cost of the part that needs to be changed is more than the cost of the parts that my policy has insured. This didn't make sense to me and I requested her to show me where is this written on my policy and also provide me with the list of parts which are insured; she replied she wouldn't know and stopped answering any further questions. I dropped several emails and voice mails but never heard back from her.

After making a lot of noise with other appraisers and adjusters for nearly 2 months and explaining the situation that it poses a risk while driving in addition to bringing down the value of the car (both in terms of monetary value when I decide to sell it and the driving experience), they agreed that the part will be an original BMW part as it is a risk. Once all of this was done, they created some more roadblocks by saying that after market parts can be used for smaller parts like the alloys, again I did not agree to this. They have insured a BMW vehicle so at the time of need I expect a BMW part in my car.

All of this drama went on for quite a few weeks, and finally they agreed and my car was repaired soon. I reported the claim on Dec 24, 2016 and today is Mar 30, 2017 (more than 3 months) and I still don't have my vehicle because of delay in payments. The kind of harassment and stress I have been thru these past 3 months is beyond imagination and I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I got.

The first agent I spoke to asked me to wait until I was certain of my new address (I am in the process of moving into a new house). When I tried to call him back two weeks later, he was out of office and had no one available to take his new clients. I waited another week, contacted the agent, and received a quote from him. He gave me a quote claiming it was $500 less a year than my existing insurance. He asked for a payment over the phone. I informed him that I wanted to go over the quote with my wife and existing insurance before finalizing the policy.

When I contacted my present company, I found that he was misrepresenting his claim. I actually had more coverage for less money with my existing insurance. I called and asked for a refund of my deposit. Today, I came home from work to find out LIBERTY Mutual had contacted the department of transportation of my state and told them I didn't have insurance. The DOT wanted me to take the plates off my vehicles and not drive them until I got insurance. Even though I still had my original insurance. Calls to Liberty Mutual accomplished nothing. They refused to correct their mistakes.

Their appraiser came up with a cost of about $3400 for the repairs but he included the use of two aftermarket parts. I refused to accept the aftermarket parts (the two parts in question would have increased the repair cost by $92). They told me that if I didn't accept their estimate I would have to return the rental car the next day, leaving us without the transportation we needed, while fighting them in court. Such a cheap outfit. I recommend staying clear of them. FYI the people that hit us said they had had Liberty Mutual for 15 years and were very upset with the way Liberty was representing them.

NOT returning policy holders' telephone calls is unacceptable and reflects poorly on what I believe is a good and responsible company.

She, our Claim Rep, returned our call this am after we sent a rather critical, but still polite and well versed email but we already had gotten help from someone else. Management needs to understand that unreturned phone calls, particularly those that are repeatedly ignored, can negate positive public opinion. LM spends a lot of money on advertising and is a good company, but more attention needs to be paid to the damage that can be done by an UNRESPONSIVE CR. I prefer not to leave our claims number as I have no wish to cause an issue for any employee but perhaps more training is needed and better policies established regarding response times.

I have been with Liberty Mutual insurance for a while. I was very pleased at first because the rates are reasonable plus they gave me the opportunity to save more money by monitoring my driving for three months. I saved an additional 9% with that device. I was having the same amount deducted from my account every month until this month ($103.67). I don't recall getting any notice of a rate change but when I checked my bank account my rate jumped $94 a month to $198.08. Keep in mind I did not change cars. I have not had any tickets or accidents.

I contacted Liberty Mutual customer service and they said that there was nothing on my record that cause that change. It's just that in my area in Texas they have more claims and they have to spread that out and make rate adjustments. I believe those that cause insurance companies to have to do rate adjustments are to be rated up and not good drivers who did not cause any issues or make claims. So my auto insurance jumped over $1000 a year for me being a good driver. I immediately got online and started shopping for insurance. I did go with another company that is a small increase from what I was paying with Liberty but considerably less than what Liberty was going to charge me. For quite a while I was talking up Liberty Mutual until yesterday.

Drive Right Program - Not a scam, but a disingenuous program where the top prize of a 30% is a scam. I am a retired over-the-road truck driver and, trust me, I know all about driving for good fuel mileage and safe driving, as the are almost one and the same. So I started the program, and wishing a week I had no violations but it did not give me a 30% rating... it only said 22%. I called and asked; what's up with that? Blah blah blah... no one could tell me why. Then I was finally able to speak with a supervisor or something, and they told me that their 'system' is not to be publicized... so they can't share it with me.

Okay, so, I kept driving, doing what I always do (on my pickup, not my big truck) and at two weeks, I checked to see how I was doing... no events: none. Yet my 'discount' was still at 22%, no change... so I called again. Same deal, they cannot explain why I am only scheduled for a 22% discount when I have NO EVENTS. They said, "well, maybe you need to drive more"... "okay, how much more?" "Nope, We can't tell you that"... So, basically, how to get a 30% deduction was a company secret. I asked how many people get a 30% discount. "Nope. We can't tell you that." "Okay; how do I get 30%?" "We can't tell you that."

So, after being rebuffed I did a 'test'... I purposefully accelerated and braked HARD and marked the time so I could see the event posted to my account. Guess what. The events posted... my discount...? 22%. So, I drove with no events for the remaining time, only those two, and guess what my discount was... yep: 22%

When I called to complain again, they gave me the.... 'no one we know ever got that high.... BS' so I was disgusted with their behavior and told them so. That the 30% discount is BS... and I could prove it. No one would talk to me after that. So, the best you can do is 22%... not 30%. If a class action lawsuit is filed, it needs to be for false advertising. Yes, I am still with LM and receiving my 22% discount. It is still the best deal around. I just hate being lied to.

I called to ask if our auto insurance rate would be going down as I was so enthusiastically told would happen when our policy renews. No it jumped up by $46 dollars a month?! Why I asked. She explained due to cars being so expensive now and those cars requiring costly repairs they've had to raise their rates across the board!? Is that my fault I mean seriously, I have to pay $46 more a month because of their cost to repair and/or replace!? Today I turned 61 with no tickets no major accident or repairs and my birthday present was our auto insurance is going up to $204 from $158?? I'm so upset b/c it's such **!!

She goes on to say my husband and I could take "safe driving classes" oh and raise our deductibles to $1000 from $500!? I'm like "what's that going to save me?" She responds $8-10 bucks a month! I'm saying hell no what I'm going to do is begin another insurance quotes days shopping for new auto and home insurance (yes house with them too)! I'm so sick of we the little guy getting stuck with the big green wiener at every turn, it's this kind of treatment that keeps people from saving or taking a vacation. We're getting screwed and Liberty Mutual along with all the rest of these "must have products"companies get richer off us. Sickens me!

I was rear ended by one of Liberty Mutual's clients on 12-13-2016 and it took weeks to even begin to get anywhere with this company. Once they finally accepted fault and agreed to repairs, I took my car to the body shop only for another catastrophe. First, they refused to replace my bumper covers and bumper because they wanted them "repaired" even though the body shop told them they couldn't be repaired. The body shop took my car apart and sent them pictures (once again) of the damage and they agreed to replace the parts. Mind you, I Drive a 2015 Toyota Highlander and they refused to replace it with Toyota parts but would only replace it with after market or generic parts. When I called to discuss this matter with them and tell them I wanted my car replaced just like it was prior to the accident, they told me they wouldn't do that because it was cheaper for them to replace the damage with generic parts!

This is the most unreasonable and horrific company I have ever dealt with as far as automotive goes. It is ridiculous to be rear ended and it is no fault of your own and they will not even replace your damage with genuine parts! I would never recommend them for anything and I hope you all never get involved in a collision with a driver who has this insurance. I cannot say one positive thing about them. I was in a car accident back in April and was in a tremendous amount of pains for several months. Lucky for me I was covered under workman comp and got most of my therapy through work. Once I was released I was still in quite a bit of pain so I had to go to my family doctor. Once the pain was gone I reached out to my representative Chris and gave him all the information he asked for. He told me he would have this all wrapped up in about 2 weeks. A little over a month later I gave him a call since I hadn't heard anything. Only then did he tell me that he had sent off for the information from the doctors I had seen but hadn't heard back. I contacted Concentra and they said they had not received any communication from Chris in any form even though I was told he emailed, faxed and mailed requests off.

I got the information myself and he told me that he had the information from my other doctor's office and it would all be wrapped up in about a week or two. Two weeks go by so I call again and he said he still hadn't received the info from the family doctor... At this point I was getting frustrated because I don't feel like he even tried to contact the doctor's office. I called myself and they gave me the number for the data file agency right then and there. These simple phone calls were all it took but Chris at Liberty couldn't even be bothered enough to call me and ask me to do his job and make the phone calls myself. I don't know if this is Liberty Mutual's SOP or if the agent assigned to me is just lazy and/or incompetent. I do know however I would never get insurance from them if this is how they treat people.

I'd be interested in the results of your research. If you post again, perhaps you can enlighten us all. In the interest of safety, the public's and mine, I removed the device and returned it to Liberty Mutual. The first day I installed it, I drove like I normally would with situational awareness, etc. At the end of my day, I reviewed my activity and was surprised at my 5 "events" of hard acceleration (such as 7.5mph to 14.9mph, 1.2mph to 8.7mph, etc) and 20 of hard braking (19.9mph to 12.4mph, 14.9mph to 7.5mph, 46.0mph to 38.5mph, etc). At the end of my second day, I had ZERO events of hard acceleration and THREE events on hard braking. Again, similar stats as per above. HOWEVER, I had numerous road rage aggressive driving in response to my passive driving as is required by the device to avoid "events" as per above.

I was merging onto a highway and was passed on the ramp by several cars, two who topped their actions off with a three finger salute. I had another driver honk his horn for an extended 100+ feet and jerked his car in front of me to express his frustration. After doing some research and reading quite a few of the reviews regarding these devices, I came to the conclusion that removing the device was absolutely in the best interest of safety and common sense. I cannot take another day, much less an hour or another minute, experiencing the type of road rage directed at me (with my daughter as passenger) as I drove with the Right Track device.

It drove me nuts and it surely drove those who had to deal with my very dangerous passive driving methods as is required by the device. It's dangerous and I fear, will costs some lives out on the roads. It also could very well be used against you in a court of law should the worst happen. Surely, Liberty Mutual and other insurance companies can figure out a better way to award discounts to their customers than this half-thought contrived idea.

Tamika with Liberty Mutual ended up being the rudest, most disrespectful person I have dealt with in insurance. The woman, I believe made up her mind about our claim prior to even talking with us. Of course that took a couple weeks to even get her or anyone with Liberty Mutual to call back. She would attempt to call us at 5:30 am. Why? Padding her call stats maybe? Could it be the same reason she'd also leave the line open after we finished talking? Everything was our fault and her continual response was "claim it on your insurance, your car isn't worth that and the dealerships must make money too." (Yes, but not twice what you offered us.)

They offered us of course the bottom line dollar, tried to blame damage to the vehicle on us and not because of the wreck. She promised email paperwork after being prompted to do so. That never arrived after multiple times giving our email address, said she mailed paperwork that never arrived. I thought I'd never come to this conclusion, but with the way things have worked lately in this messed up world, is all this rudeness and lack of service because my son, who drove the car... is a police officer?

My complaint is they failed to supply my bank with paperwork that I was adequately insured meeting my loan requirements. They caused problems that made the bank threaten to terminate my loan. It took several calls, and much aggravation, to get the issue resolved. This insurance company's coverage is comparable to any other large insurance company. But their competency and customer service fall way behind most others. They have a wide range of insurance levels along with ranges of cost. Liberty Mutual also partners with other companies, such as employers, membership organizations and universities to offer discounts.

This company did not add value to my life. Even with the discount offered through my alma mater, the aggravation, the incompetency of the company caused was not worth the few extra dollars I saved every month. They failed. Customer service is not only about being polite. It is also about following through and correcting problems and they did not do either.

It was very easy to file a claim with them. They took the initial information over the phone and then sent me some forms to fill out which were very self explanatory. They then followed up with me every couple of weeks until it was paid. They even took care of me when I was hit by another vehicle. They started the process for me and contacted the other insurance company to get things rolling. Besides the damage to my car I was hurt so I had to file those bills as well. This went on for three years. My injuries were such that I required ongoing care which they helped me through. They made sure I was compensated for the medical bills and at the end I was given a settlement. They made sure that my bills were being processed properly and on time and gave me advice on what to expect. I was so thankful to have them guiding me through this process.

They had different options as far as the coverage you could choose. You were offered the option of how much you would pay before they took over and your coverage cost was based on how much they would be responsible for. In my case they covered 100% of the damages up to the value of the vehicle. If you totaled your car they only paid you what it was worth not the replacement value.

Definitely worth it to me. You always think the accidents are going to happen to someone else but it just isn't true. I was in what I thought was a minor fender bender. Someone pulled in front of me a few cars back from a stop light and then stopped. She had a trailer hitch protruding out the back like a knight's lance and it went completely through my radiator. We were both given tickets but my insurance paid the bill. I am certainly glad it didn't come out of my pocket. I made one phone call. They took my statement and took over from there. They helped me every step of the way. They contacted me twice after that and it was taken care of and paid in less than a month.

If you're thinking about the Right Track program with Liberty Mutual, don't even waste your time. You'll end up getting yourself into more dangerous driving situations trying to qualify for their highest discount as they monitor your daily driving habits using absolutely absurd criteria. During the 3 months I had the Right Track device in my car, it would have been humanly impossible to drive anymore passive than I did. Slow acceleration... Slow braking. I was conscious of this everyday in my short 10 minute commute to work and on weekends. When I received my results, I was charged with 470 events of rapid acceleration and 350 odd events of hard braking resulting in only a 5% discount.

I don't know how I could've even received a discount at all with a score like this. Then I looked at the detailed events that counted against me. 99 percent of the rapid acceleration events were from accelerating within 10 miles per hour from a dead stop or idle position as the following examples will show. 1.2 mph to 8.7 mph; 0.6 mph to 8.7 mph; 1.9 mph to 9.9 mph. In Las Vegas, the majority of our main streets are 45 mph, and to enter traffic on a main street, you must accelerate in a safe manner in order to match the normal flow of traffic that is traveling that speed. I was basically penalized for accelerating from a dead stop to less than 10 mph about 90% of the time. The hard braking events that I was penalized for, match the absurd ridiculousness of the rapid acceleration. For example, 35.4 mph to 26.1 mph; 38.5 mph to 31.1 mph; 12.4 mph to 3.7 mph; 9.9 mph to 2.5 mph... Get the picture???

They do not want to give you a discount. This is false advertisement to lure new customers and false advertisement to keep customers like myself who intend on cancelling the insurance for being overpriced and greedy. I called to complain about my rates since I'm 47 years old, haven't been in an accident in probably 20 years, no tickets and I'm paying thousands of dollars per year to insure a car that has well over 100,000 miles on it and is nearly 10 years old. The penalizing events that I was charged with are basically going from idle speed to less than 10 miles per hour to merge into traffic. I'm contacting a lawyer, going to be doing reviews, and I'm going research any and all governing entities that would be interested in this unethical scam, false advertising, and invasion of privacy (or misrepresentation of it).

I will be very interested to find out if there will be a class action lawsuit someday over this Right Track program and I'm wondering what the real scam is behind it. But in the end, this program promotes a driving habit that is so potentially more dangerous to drivers and I'll be interested to see if any evidence will be cultivated showing how many people that either cause accidents or are in accidents or road rage incidents as a result of having this device in their cars causing them to drive like complete idiots. I had people honking at me, cursing me out. and racing around me on side streets and on freeways very unsafely during the time Right Track was installed in my car due to my extremely passive driving, and still I was charged with nearly a thousand events of rapid acceleration and hard braking from idle to under 10 miles per hour.

When I first started this program, I asked the customer service person with Right Track, what aspect of my driving was being monitored and she explained that you'd have to really accelerate from like a low speed to 65 miles per hour in just a few seconds (or a very short period of time), and she said you'd have to really basically slam on your brakes to be negatively charged with an event. Then at the conclusion of this period after seeing my results, I spoke with another representative who had the absolute opposite information to give... Basically corroborating the readout of being penalized for absurdly passive changes of speed - like a difference of 10 miles per hour in a second. I'd like to see the physics explanation and ask a scientist or a traffic officer if this is a safe driving habit to promote. I smell a skunk!!!

There's something horribly wrong with what they are doing and I'm beginning my investigation today by contacting the media with the above details... God help us all if even 15% of drivers out there have this in their cars... Be ready for road rage and accidents everywhere due to the absurdly uninformed and dangerous driving habits that Liberty Mutual is promoting with this obscene program.

I am writing this review not as a Liberty Mutual customer but as someone damaged by one of their customers (rear ended by a LM policyholder). This occurred Feb 2016. Liberty Mutual has shown a stunning lack of any responsibility in this matter. Even though my wife was rear ended at a traffic light by one of their insured, Liberty Mutual has steadfastly refused to cooperate on even a minimal level with this matter even though fault is not even remotely in question. We were forced to file a claim on our own State Farm policy to get the damage to our SUV repaired, paying a $500 deductible out of pocket. It took seven months for Liberty Mutual so settle on just the auto repair bill with State Farm and for us to get our deductible back. They have yet to make any offer to settle the full amount of the emergency room bills my wife suffered as a result.

They have caused us tremendous financial hardship all because they don't want to pay for one of their insured rear ending my wife. I've already filed a complaint with the insurance commissioner in my state and I plan to file more complaints with insurance commissioners in Texas where the other driver is from. Not only have they left us in a bind, they are also leaving their insured hanging out to dry since we may have to sue them directly to settle this matter. They should put quotation marks around the word insurance in their title. This company apparently can do little else but collect premium checks and saturate us with expensively produced commercials making fraudulent claims about their reliability.

Then, a couple days later, the whole story changed to that I came into this person's lane and hit him! Likely because he had a witness and I did not. Liberty Mutual did not defend me in this, and in fact, I had to send them a close-up image of this man's tire on the side of my vehicle before Liberty Mutual said I was not at fault. It went so smoothly and with little hassle on my part. I called and they came out or settled over the phone. They never disputed or canceled or raised my rates after a claim. It covered every contingency with a very reasonable rate. I got it through our credit union and they would not drop us no matter how many claims. Also towing was available. I relied on Liberty as a friend I could depend on to take care of my auto insurance needs. This removed one potential area of stress from my life. I would call them - I don't recall where their office was - Detroit maybe and they would send a local person out. They were always pleasant, always prompt, always helpful. There was no reason to even consider another insurance company.

Simple and fast. From the moment that you call them, they actually get the job done right away. I'm really impressed with their services. There's so many coverages for different needs. It depends on the need of the insurance. I truly recommend the full car coverage and the home coverage. It's a bit too much, but for what we have I guess it's okay. Always look into the different options they offer. You can always talk to them about the prices. It's okay. They can be better when they're asking questions. Sometimes it takes forever to reach customer services, they should have more people working on the phones.

Makes me feel protected anywhere and anywhere I travel, either for work or vacation. The agent also arranged for a rental car. The estimate for the body work was accepted without dispute. Rental vehicle was covered for the entire two weeks needed. Out of pocket expenses included the $500 deductible. The insurance company made the entire claims process easy and stress-free. As stated before, response time back from the agent was quick. The agent handled everything. The repair work was perfect and you couldn't even tell the car had been in an accident. At all times the agent responded back respectfully and never tired of answering my questions. This company made a very stressful time much less stressful. Claims were handled courteously, promptly, and fairly. Kind and understanding support was given throughout the entire process, with steps involved explained clearly. Coverage was comprehensive, even though the price for coverage was a bit higher than other insurance providers. I was not sold coverage that I did not need. Though the premiums were higher than that of other insurance providers, the peace of mind knowing that coverage was adequate was worth the extra cost. Customer service provided by personnel in the local office of this company was exceptional. Additional advice/suggestions were given on automobile-related issues that had nothing to do with my policy, but which I appreciated and used.

I was shocked to see that I paid $100, but then again I'm originally not from Michigan. Apparently Michigan has among the highest auto insurance rates, but compared to friends my coverage is on the cheaper side of things. My coverage is like most insurances, and my deductible is average. Some coverages are governed by state law, which they make easy to change if you move. Also the website makes it easy to see your coverage at a glance. I've used Liberty Mutual more than once after my car was hit multiple times while parked on city streets (hit and runs). Paying the deductible I have was a much better deal than having to pay for all of the damages caused by inconsiderate drivers. I also get the minimum legal coverage and therefore have a high deductible and would not be able to make a claim unless there were extensive damage. I usually get the mandatory legal minimum auto insurance and therefore have a high deductible and I am satisfied with the arrangement and the premium price. Liberty Mutual may not be as cheap as some of the online insurance companies and I have left Liberty Mutual for a cheaper company. I only get the minimum legal amount of coverage with a high deductible and am satisfied with the amount of coverage.

I have since found an insurance company that has even lower premiums than Liberty Mutual and am satisfied with the arrangement. I have dealt with people at the Liberty Mutual office and found them to be quite friendly and accommodating but have since moved on where the only relationship I have with the agency is via the mail and online.

We have a high deductible since we have a newer car and would want it fixed and they covered getting the car back to looking new again! I think we pay a competitive price for the service we have and also include our house insurance with them.

We once had a flood in a previous house and they came in and boxed everything up and put it in the garage for us. They took out the carpet and flooring and some parts of a wall and did so immediately. They even offered for us to stay in a hotel for a week! Easy to contact a person locally to talk to about my claim and even email them about the incident and send pictures over the Internet. They asked me what had happened and all the specifics in a comforting way. Claims were processed in a timely fashion. So happy to get the house or car fixed without having to argue with someone on why it is covered by the insurance!

Replacing my windshield was easy, and when my husband was locked out, they had someone respond quickly. I was actually going to switch providers, as we were paying almost $240 for 2 cars. When I called, they assisted with locating different discounts, such as being a college graduate and newlyweds. Our current coverage is about $160 for 2 cars. I was with Liberty Mutual over two years for auto insurance and rental insurance coverage. Gradually, started seeing an increase in my auto insurance, called to inquire about it and was informed that across the board all insurance companies were increasing... cool! After two years decided to do a downsize on my bills... cut cable bill off, called around to get cheaper quotes for car insurance, found a cheaper rate and called LM to cancel. Was informed by LM that the whole time I was with them I had been paying a month behind on my auto insurance and rental insurance... The whole time I was with them, never did I get a late notification or anything. Ok, canceled my policy and later received a bill for the month behind bill, keep in mind, I had always paid on time, never was late the whole time I was with LM.

Due to me having a new policy with AAA, I broke the "past due monthly bill" down because I had started the policy with AAA. I paid the balance of $223.00 for auto insurance and $26.00 for rental insurance down to a remaining balance of $50.00 total, $50.00 was all that I owed LM total. Last bill was for 10/23/16 made payments for the month of October, November and had a balance of $50.00.

I called on 11/30/16 to pay the $50.00 off and was informed that it had been sent to collections... are you kidding me??? $50.00? I asked the representative why was it sent to collections. She informed me that it was automatically done. I told the customer representative I could see if I hadn't never made any type of payment but to send $50.00 to collections was ludicrous. Anyway I paid the $50.00 and LM will NEVER have to worry about me coming back to them or me referring anyone to them in the near future. BEWARE OF LIBERTY MUTUAL INSURANCE!

I think their coverage is quite good with a lot of discounts. They have much lower rates when you use that tracker in your vehicle to show how your driving is, and mileage used. Also quick stops. Basically just what kind of driver you are, and they claim their rates go down instead of going up each year, but that hasn't been my case. It went up but they said it was because all insurance rates went up.

I left my previous insurance company after 42 years because the rates kept going up, and we didn't even use the insurance (Westfield Insurance). We are old and retired, don't travel and have very low mileage on our vehicles yet still pay large rates from any insurance company. I have a 2013 Jeep that only has 900 miles on it and our truck 2008 has 40,000 miles on it and both were bought new. In comparison their rates are good.

I am happy with the value, but then again, I don't know what the going rates are for insurance for the past 2 years or whether I'm paying too much or not because I've never compared rates since I dropped my last insurance, Westfield Insurance because the rates kept going up and up and the coverage got lower. If this happens with Liberty, I'll be searching for new insurance again. I pay a lot to insure 3 vehicles and my home and property in a package. Customer service is readily available with one phone call, and they can help you in a timely manner with a question or forward you to someone who will.

It took Liberty Mutual 3 months to resolve my problem though and I used to have to commute 80 mins both ways to work. Needless to say my kids went hungry for some time. They have all the modern coverage you will need for this and that but you will pay a hefty premium for it that's for sure. I don't really care for them but I have a new car and it needs total coverage. I don't really have much to say about it since my wife just switched us to a cheaper plan that was 40$ cheaper and that's at about 160.00 per month now. I still think it's highway robbery. But if I do get into an accident then I suppose it will be worth it.

After Liberty Mutual took 3 months to process the totaling of my vehicle it seemed to me that they had short changed me on value of my truck, only 3000$ for a GMC w/ under 90000 miles on it. The office was in Connecticut and extremely difficult to call about the claim. 3 months w/out a vehicle! I had 2 kids and a wife and that was the only form of transportation I had.

I switched to LM in September. A deer hit my certified BMW vehicle. LM wants to repair my vehicle with after-market parts. I was informed that in order to use BMW parts I was to have purchased a premium policy which includes OEM parts. This was never explained to me when I called in for initial quote. I repeatedly stated that I wanted the same coverage as my previous insurer and not once was it explained to me that there is a "premium" coverage available. After several days on the phone trying to contact someone that could give me an explanation as to why my vehicle cannot be restored back to its original condition, I was told that they would have to "investigate" the initial phone call and that they would get back to me within 2 days. Well, it's been a week and no return phone call.

My vehicle is sitting in a shop awaiting repairs. I've not received a call back from the person who handles the claims either. I've called many times as well as emailed and still nothing. This has been the WORST experience ever. Another critter hit this same vehicle with my previous insurance and my vehicle was appraised, repaired, and returned to me within 8 days, no hassle. This experience, so far is beyond 8 days and still no response from LM. I'm at a loss right now. I can either come up with out of pocket expenses to repair my vehicle with original parts or repair it their way and lose the value and certification of this type of vehicle. Either way it's a lose/lose situation for me.

DO NOT use this company! You will not get any return calls or real answers to your questions. It's been one lie after another. They did not add rental coverage as well so I am scrambling around to get to and from places. I was also told they would investigate this mishap on their end but still no response. I am charged monthly for EFT payments yet I was initially told that it would be a one time fee. So far, it is not worth the savings and it is the worse mistake ever! I suppose you get what you pay for! But in my defense, they said all the right things to get my money only to nickel and dime me in the end.

The claims department was easy to work with and helpful in getting the other party's insurance (who was at fault) to cooperate. I felt they worked hard to protect my interests while also recovering the money from the other company. My policy covered the basics and legal requirements for my state, but also gave the flexibility to add additional coverage amounts that were important to me. I don't trust others to carry sufficient insurance since it may cost them more, so having extra coverage for those situations was critical. I would like to have rated this category higher, and for several years could have.

However, despite an excellent driving record (no at-fault accidents or tickets) and a car depreciating in value, my rates continued to climb at a ratio beyond general market increases. I felt this company tried to protect my interests while protecting its own, such as by working to obtain payment from a driver who caused an accident while ensuring my car was repaired in a timely manner. My only complaint was that they couldn't do enough to reduce my rates so I could stay on as a customer.
