My very expensive Persian silk rugs were damaged beyond repair by a water leak, and this agent truly made sure to go above and beyond in helping me with my claim.     Boarding an international train on my way to Amsterdam, I left my suitcase in a convenient luggage rack at the entrance of the car - and getting off in Amsterdam, I found to my dismay that my suitcase was no longer there. Today, two working days later, the full reimbursement was in my bank account, direct transfer, no delays with checks. Now I realize why the company is called Lemonade: A sour experience was sweetened by competence and compassion!

You'll then sent a team out to my place and they took all of my belongings including clothes and shoes for my toddlers and I. I was left with nothing. No bedding or anything. I then had to come out of pocket for new items and requested to be refunded and the refund was approved. I received a letter from the First Team in Tulsa that is now trying to sue me, stating my insurance would not cover all of the items that were cleaned without me agreeing for them to be cleaned.     On Friday, August 26, 2022, while traveling from Chicago to Michigan for a family wedding, my vehicle was broken into while parked in a relatively busy parking lot in SE Michigan. The thief broke into my car’s back window and ransacked all of my personal belongings inside — including my work backpack (laptop/portable monitor/other electronics) as well as my travel carryon suitcase (expensive clothing / dress cloths / etc.).

    On August 27, 2022, I reported the incident to Lemonade. The individual handling my claim, Kaleb, was far from what you would expect from an insurance customer service representative, charged with handling insurance claims. He was kind. He was caring. He was prompt with his responses. He was specific and clear about what he needed from my end. He never made things difficult. He understood I was going through a lot and made my life that much easier by holding up Lemonade’s promise to support me when times like this unfortunately roll around. On September 7, 2022, only 8-days after my original incident report with Lemonade, my claim was approved by Kaleb and team. On September 8, 2022, only 1-day after Lemonade approved my insurance claim, I received 100% of my claim amount (less than my $500 deductible, of course).

    Lemonade has earned my respect as an insurance company. Kaleb has earned my respect as a professional and a kind person. And I have personally committed to working with Lemonade (and Kaleb, though I do hope I never need to make a claim again) for the foreseeable future. Thank you to the entire team.     I was very happy with the performance of Lemonade Insurance from the beginning, all the way thru the first and only claim. I probably would have given them 5 ✩✩✩✩✩, except a couple weeks after paying the claim, they sent me a cancellation message that read; “Regulators require insurance companies like us to follow strict guidelines when it comes to determining which properties we can cover. We are prohibited from insuring certain types of structures, like multi-unit properties, manufactured homes, mobile homes, boats, trailers, and farm houses. Unfortunately, based on those guidelines, we won't be able to renew our coverage for your property”.

    Needless to say, all the war stories you hear about insurance companies canceling you after filing a claim I guess turns out to be true, or at least in my case it did. So based on the message I received, if you live in an apartment building, you could have your policy canceled too because you live in a “multi-unit property”. Lemonade Insurance knew where I lived because they asked me to send pics at the time of obtaining the insurance so they didn’t have to send someone out to take the pictures. Furthermore, I paid for the insurance months ahead of the start time because it was in the middle of fire season, according to them, and the policy would not go into effect until fire season was over. BTW, the neighbor's house burned down do to his own stupidity, not because of a wild fire.

    Other than the aforementioned cancellation after the claim, Lemonade was affordable and gave me a peace of mind knowing that in case something happened, I was covered, well not anymore. So now my policy is ending at the peak of fire season and I have no way of getting new insurance because it's at the peak of fire season. Insurance companies don’t want to take that risk during peak season, same as Lemonade did. So Thank You Lemonade for dumping me & leaving me high & dry when I need you most. That’s why I only gave them 3 ✩✩✩.

    Renters' Insurance is one of those things that I think I will never use, but over the 4th of July weekend, my rental car along with my luggage and backpack were stolen! It was a stressful evening dealing with the police and the car rental company. The following day I filed a claim via the Lemonade app on my iPhone for my personal belongings that were in the vehicle. Being the 4th of July weekend, I didn't hear from my claims advocate until Tuesday. Once I reached her, we got down to business. She walked me thru the process and I provided everything I could regarding my claim. It took a few days for me to gather all the documentation and submitted everything to her. It took almost 55 days, but my claim was approved. A lesson I learned from this is I now save EVERY receipt for everything I purchase - it helps when you need to file a claim. Thank you Lemonade!

    My advocate was extremely rude from day 1, made smart remarks and chuckled when I was explaining my situation. There’s absolutely nothing funny about a mom & her 2 year old being displaced for a week and a half due to a ceiling leak. I was never put into a hotel and when I spoke with a supervisor he was very defensive and would not switch me advocates. Poor communication and I was confused during the whole process. I only received one call from my advocate and everything else was through email. Highly dissatisfied and definitely thinking about switching insurances.

    What gives Lemonade? I am dealing with a very serious situation and you all will NOT get back to me. I am going to contact my other renter’s insurance to see if they can help (didn’t even know I had it, but glad I do because you all are not communicating whatsoever). I was told I received an email about an approved claim. The email DOES NOT EXIST.

    Yet I am getting emails from my apartment that they have repeated reached out to you all, with no response, nor have you responded to me. Now they are threatening me saying I have to pay 28000 dollars in two weeks since you all are NOWHERE to be found. Do you know how stressful this is? You all have been atrocious from the day I signed up. All this talk about how you all have extra money to spend yet you can’t hire a competent person to help out a customer in need.

    Are you not in the business of helping people alleviate stress? I work in customer service and I would be fired if I treated a customer the way you all have just not answered. You don’t sell a product, your whole company’s purpose to communicate with your customers. Is that so much to ask? I am literally going to have a heart attack. You all claimed to be able to reimburse me for food as well as pay for everything that happened outside of my apartment. This is why I purchased insurance. Please contact me today so I don’t have to go on literally every social media/review platform in existence to let everyone know how your company just does not care about its customers.
