Lemonade Insurance is the biggest disappointment. On October 25, 2025 my shower pipe burst in the middle of the night. Since then it’s been the biggest nightmare. I had to move out of my apartment, come out with 7,000 and now I’m living in my car. Lemonade denied my claim stating the water pipe burst was pre existing?? Are you kidding me. Alberto was awful and Fallon was worse. Not only were they awful to me, they were down right rude to my landlord. Lemonade has made me homeless.

The customer representative who helped us through the unimaginable process of losing our home to a fire was absolutely AMAZING. Tony was patient, kind, and genuinely caring. From the very beginning, he reassured me that he would do everything he could to help my husband, our two boys, and me navigate the overwhelming reality of losing everything we owned.

My Lemonade agent was helpful and guided me through the claims steps, and the general interface and process was straightforward. The nature of my claim was a bit odd and I did not have all the documentation I would have liked to, but I was guided through finding what I had and doing the best I could in the given situation.

Not good, no response from the team, and they cut the claim insurance without any proper reason, I would not take the insurance from this company again if possible. They asked me to submit all my receipts and after doing that they did not give me the correct one, I did not get even 50 percent of what I lost back as insurance claim. It is that bad.

Claims process is pretty easy and quick but you MUST download the app, which I don't love. I'd prefer not to have to add location and camera permissions to my phone just to file an insurance claim. You also have to record a video of you describing the reason for the claim, which was new. Lemonade did process our claim VERY quickly (less than 24 hours) but my e-bike was not covered because it was considered a "motorized vehicle" under their rental policy, which is ridiculous for a Class 1 e-bike without a throttle and limited to no communication about those limitations prior to needing to file a claim on an e-bike. Customer service was good overall but difficult to tell if you are talking to human or AI-bot in chat functions (I assume AI-bot always but they do add a photo of a person to the chat which is confusing). Still, I was happy with the timeline and availability of the claims processors.

I don't even want to give it one star! They can't even get a policy correct, or cancel correctly! I spent several hours last week trying to make AI understand that the policy should only be cancelled per the scheduled date! And now a week later.. they don't have the right freaking information. I am about to switch to progressive, which is what I should have done in the first place. -Zero stars! In fact, -10 freaking stars.

Lemonade insurance is so easy, and has saved me headaches 3 times now!! My claims processes after each incident has been straightforward, clear, and easy to navigate. My representative was communicative, and each request for information was answered promptly. For the less complex incidents (my bag was stolen a few years ago), my claim was promptly approved and initiated. I love their ethos as a company, giving back to charities of choice. Very happy with my choice of insurance!

Lemonade was very quick to respond to my claim of package theft and helpful along the way to gather the necessary documentation, including invoices and the police report. The claim was approved within a week of the incident. The payment went straight to my bank account.

I love this company! I put in a claim because my house flooded and the very next day they accepted it and sent me the money to replace the things I need! They even gave me a little more than I asked for!

I had a great experience with Lemonade — the process was incredibly easy and straightforward from start to finish. Impressive platform - super intuitive, you don't get bogged down speaking with humans or awful processes of being forwarded department to department. With Lemonade I was able to sign up entirely through their app, add valuable items I need protected, and (recently) file a claim within minutes for which the approval process was almost instantaneous. Cannot recommend enough.

I have a renter's insurance policy. Unfortunately my bike was stolen and I filed a police report. Lemonade exceeded my expectations by a mile when it comes to dealing with insurance claims. I deeply dread paperwork and Lemonade made it more straightforward than I imagined possible.

I am currently dealing with Lemonade for a renters insurance claim. My experience has been nothing but a headache. My biggest concern aside from the long wait for resolution is the absolute false information I keep receiving from my adjuster and the little to no communication. Was told last Wednesday that she would be done drawing up our settlement within 24/48 hours which would have been Friday. Well Friday came and went then yesterday Monday whole day goes by I call a couple times cant get in touch with her like always then at end of day she emails says, "Sorry for the delay that she's almost done and it will for sure be done tomorrow." We'll it's currently 9:15 pm on Tuesday and nothing. Not a single thing from her.
Why lie? Why make us wait unnecessarily. We desperately need the claim resolved so we can replace medical equipment that's needed to live our everyday life. This is mean. Really mean. Why tell us something and not follow thru. Why do everything they can to try to lower our claim and take as long as possible to pay it. This is messing with our lives and they don't care.

TL;DR: Had a great experience with Lemonade after having my backpack and wallet stolen. I've had Lemonade renters insurance for 8 years now, since I was required to get it for one apartment I lived in. I was always worried it would actually be good insurance because of how cheap it was, but at the time I didn't care because I was just looking for the cheapest insurance possible.
Fast forward 8 years: I get a bunch of valuables stolen, and get a recommendation to look into my renters insurance policy as it may cover theft even outside the home. It does, and I had a great experience getting all of my stolen goods covered. It took a while for me to gather together all of the documentation that was asked for, but the system was easy to use and the agent was kind, knowledgeable, and easily accessible. Turns out my dirty cheap insurance is actually fantastic insurance. (And, my other friend who also had his bag stolen -- his company covered nothing because their deductible was so high). Now I feel reassured that I also use Lemonade for pet insurance too.

I got robbed in Ibiza. I filed a police report, but the police didn’t do anything. Luckily, I made a claim with Lemonade using the police report. The experience was smooth and I was made whole again. Really gives me peace of mind going forward and freed me of any vacation regrets.

Excellent customer service and great prices. Mark from the claims department was able to get my claim approved under a special circumstance. He also got the claim approved in roughly 24 hours which I also found remarkable.

I had my bike stolen so I filed a claim and since it was a standard issue an automated chatbot guided me through the process and what information I needed to submit. The claim was approved within 20 minutes and the refund was received within three days.

I unfortunately was the victim of a theft when someone broke into our building and stole my recently delivered AC unit, which was new and still in the box. I tried all means I could think of to cover my loss including reaching out to the manufacturer, LG, and filing a police report. It was a lot, and frankly, LG in particular was really terrible to deal with, and the process of filing a police report ends up being somewhat time consuming.
By huge contrast, working with Lemonade for a claim through my renter's insurance was such a relief. The app makes it very easy to know what documentation they need from you, and it's fast to submit. The day after filing, I verified a few more details by phone, and had my insurance payout by direct deposit, minus deductible, the day after that. Basically, a frictionless experience. Unexpected theft like this is exactly why I have renters insurance, and Lemonade treated me fairly and held up their end of the coverage policy. It sucks to deal with theft, but not being stuck will the full cost of the missing item does truly take a lot of the sting out of this experience.

Updated on 07/02/2025: These people are the worst. I have never heard of anybody working in such bad face as Lemonade insurance company. Beware. I have been trying to get ahold of him regarding my claim for a month and a half now and I have gotten no response whatsoever from my adjuster other than when he said he needed nothing from me further and that he was working on processing my claim to get me paid. And then all communication stopped and then I got her denial later a few days later.
Original: I have spoke 30 seconds at the most with my adjuster from Lemonade insurance company. I get no emails back, no kind of response whatsoever, no answers, no updates. I did get an email stating that they did not mean nothing further that I have provided all the information that was needed to go forward with my claim. Here it is a month later and I cannot get anybody to return any kind of response to me. They send emails to wrong email addresses although my adjuster completely 100% knows the correct email addresses
