    Coverage

Worst coverage ever. Stay away from Humana. They intentionally tell you yes all your prescription are covered then start telling you when pharmacy files it no coverage we need pre authorization letters for these prescriptions and you're stuck. Do yourself a favor stay away from Humana. Insurance !

I signed up with Humana for 2026 part D coverage. 1st prescription for the year was denied even though it's on their formulary. After spending ~30 mins on the phone with customer service my medication was covered. 2nd prescription was a compounded ointment for nerve damage. After speaking to 2 people in customer service I was told they would make and exception and given a confirmation number. Every day that followed Humana gave me new excuses until I finally gave up and paid out of pocket. 3rd prescription I cleared with Humana before I signed up for 2026 part D coverage with them.

I also cleared the prescription with Humana while I was in my Dr's office in case they needed prior authorization. I cleared it again with Humana after my Dr prescribed the medication. I went to my pharmacy to pick it up on 1/14/2026 and Humana denied coverage requesting prior authorization. It is an emergency situation now. Unless Humana will expedite coverage I will run out of medication while waiting on them. I cannot stop taking this med and will either have to pay out of pocket again or end up in the ER. Humana customer service is good a saying I'm sorry but don't expect them to pay a claim or honor the formulary they sold you. You cannot believe what Humana tells you on the phone, what they have written on their website or what they print in their formulary. Try and find another provider that will honor their agreement with their customers.

I am leaving the U.S. on six months vacation. I contacted HUMANA to request mediation for the six months period vacation. Humana put me in a loop for three days and still I’ve only received partial prescriptions. What I have noticed is as follows:- Big lack of communication between the departments and staff in understanding the procedure and a lack of communicaion between Humana and the pharmacy. Their technique as I perceived it, is to exhaust the customer to the point of giving up. We spent hours with them on a period of three days without getting my medication yet. I will keep contacting them until hopefully I get my medication. I am heart patient and have Parkinson. I hope to receive my medication before I leave. My departure is in 5 days. I have to say their staff was polite and nice although the pharmacy review people were ineffective - whether as a systemic method to exhaust customers or just inefficiency; I don’t know.

Bad customer service. Trouble filling refills. No call backs. Hard to understand reps. Need to bring back jobs to U.S. I would not recommend this pharmacy to anyone. Government needs to look into their operations.

      Coverage

      Reviewed Aug. 24, 2025

Humana Prescription Coverage is pitiful, all I have gotten so far is "denied, denied, denied".... They don't even honor a Letter from my Doctor stating that this script is medically necessary. I am bleeding my own money on a Senior Soc Sec Budget because I have to cover everything myself and will ditch them to the curb as soon as I can. I cannot in good consciousness recommend them, ever!

This is the worst pharmacy I've ever used!!! Mail order is always always late, every single month. I get my prescriptions late every single month. Put it this way my scripts are all over a month behind, probably closer to 2 now because every month they all continue to be late. I get the same scripts every month & they have my scripts a month ahead of time, yet they can't even manage to mail them out before my due date. I should actually have them in my hands, and after they do finally decide to ship, well then it's 3 to 5 days shipping time beyond that & that's after it ships not after it fills because they don't even ship it for days after it's filled & this happens literally every single month.

When you call to ask, "Why don't you ship them earlier so that we can receive them when they are actually due so that maybe I didn't have to run out of medications every month because I'm getting them late every month." Their answer to me is, "Sorry. There's nothing we can do about that." They don't fill it till it's due & after they fill it they sit on it for 4 or 5 days til they actually give it to the shipper, it will say waiting for carrier pickup, except all it is, is label created & will just sit there waiting 4 or 5 days to actually ship out. At which point there will be an additional 3 to 5 days ship time.

Why is it always late & why does it take them so long to fill it & then sit on it before they actually ship it when they have my scripts in hand a month ahead of time and I call 2 weeks in advance to confirm the refill? I sooo want to change pharmacies. Also, my scripts like a lot of peoples are not to be abruptly stopped, but they don't care. They just say, "There's nothing I can do about that, they won't fill it till it's due." They don't care if they make you run out every month. They literally don't care about the patients they serve.

Humana's drug pricing is confusing. 1st you need to get the prescription. Then look it up on their website to see the different pharmacy prices. Then have the prescription sent to the pharmacy with the best price. If you have to used their pharmacy there's a 3-5 day wait. If you need the prescription right away there may be "price penalties" either thru your pharmacy or pay extra shipping prices for their pharmacy. A priority delivery from their pharmacy still takes 1-3 days. You may have no choice but to pay for the higher prices.

What happens if your in a hospital? Not to mention that some of their prescriptions are very common, generic, and have been around a long time. But, if you don't use their pharmacy you pay a much higher price. Think about it. You'll need to sit in the doctors office figuring out where you need to send the prescription before you leave or call the doctors office back to tell them where to send the prescription adding to your inconvenience, delaying your medical care, and possibly paying higher prices for urgent care.

Terrible. I joined when I hit 65 to cover my medications. They take forever and kept giving me different excuses on why my medications can’t be sent out. Oh, we need to the doctor again, we need to put information in my account. Terrible customer service and constant excuses. Choose another plan if you can.

Worst service ever. Although in some cases polite the customer service reps are impossible to understand as they are all foreign. All reps repeat the same script and put you on hold for supervision or pharmacist and never come back. Continually use insulting phrases like “no problem and no worries”. If there wasn’t a problem or a worry I wouldn’t be on the phone for 2 hours as I was on Friday 8/28/24. I don’t believe they have actual supervisors or pharmacist. I have been trying to get a RX refill since 8/21 and still don’t have it. Now I have run out of 2 medications. Not the kind of company I want to do business with. They forget each of these prescriptions are actually human beings and show no regard for the patient's health. I will now go back to my actual pharmacy with real people who speak English and treat me like a human being. Do not use this service.

The pricing is extremely high compared to any reasonable comparison. Yes, it is included in your Medicare Advantage plan but you would be better off with card at 30% of the value you could shop with and you would be able to get more items. Many things we can't order anymore, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide for instance. The lack of data is astonishing. No list of the content % of vitamin b supplement for instance. Is it 500, 1000, 5000mcg, who knows because there is no information. Can't reorder anything from previous order, you need to look it up again and research to get the same item in the unlikely event it is even still available. Please give us a prepaid card and quit this charade of a benefit. Thank you.
