Allstate Insurance could make me lose my home! Before purchasing my home I was told flood insurance was mandatory. I went to Allstate for coverage. After paying $300 for an elevation certificate, was told it would run $50 monthly. Based on the price, I decided to purchase the house. 2 months later they are now telling me the price will be over $200 a month, that I'd be billed retroactively and that I'm not allowed to cancel. I don't know what I'm going to do. Allstate should be ashamed of itself, for such a blatant lie about cost.

I have severe agoraphobia and told the main office and talked to several people at the local office. They are cancelling my insurance because I am unable to have people in my yard to take pictures of the house. I told them, ALL of them - the photographer can go into the yard behind us, the yard next to us, both abandoned and empty. He could take all the pictures he wants and needs. No one will listen to me. This is a real and severe disability. I have it verified by a psychiatrist. I also have a verified heart condition and are not supposed to get this upset. No one will listen to me. No one cares. I have been a customer for almost 2 decades and never once filed a claim. I am obviously not in good hands.

First on the auto, the premium made a huge jump after the first six months and proceeded to go up every six months after that, although I never filed a claim. There was no roadside that was not out of pocket and after being stuck on the side of the road in the winter, I felt they did not handle my insurance needs as I requested. So I went with another insurance company.
That leaves my homeowners insurance which is in my escrow, when this had made over a 100.00 jump in premium in two years with no claims filed, and on a very small home was ridiculously overpriced (which affects my mortgage payment) I decided to look elsewhere. For coverage that is slightly better with a another company, I saved 300.00. I have had quality insurance and this was not it. When it came time to get the refund, I had to pester the agent who finally replied that he "thought he had sent me the email of the refund" the date I requested it. Right, never mind the 3 emails I sent asking for a status. Poor company with poorer representatives. It did not used to be like this... years back. The agent never followed up except to sell more insurance. He did not try to save me money even though I had to repeatedly ask. To me this is poor customer service.

I'm in my late 30's and have been an Allstate customer for as long as I can remember. I have auto and home policies with them. I lived in my previous home for 7 years and it was built in 1904. Not once did an agent come inspect the house or make amendments to the policy. I purchase a home built in 2003 in March of 2015 and since purchase they have amended my policy 3 times to increase. It seems like they are trying to get me to change or not have a policy with them anymore. I make my payments on time 100% of the time. I can't understand how the policy can just keep changing and changing and my replacement value keeps increasing. I am not a fan of changing and my agent himself is great but looks like it may be time to move on.

I was robbed by people who were supposed to come in and help me get rid of stuff I no longer wanted, instead they robbed me. Allstate was great, I did not take out enough insurance so they are not to blame. I should have updated my policy as I accumulate more possessions. My assigned agent was not as helpful as the agent that took over at my request and she was caring and helped me all she could. The 5 stars go to her.

Had to contact Allstate once I realized our deductible was not correct. Have email from Allstate correcting this in may of 2015. Found when I went online today that the correction was not done. My deductible on the auto was corrected but not the homeowners. We are back at square one in getting them to correct it. I am now looking for a different insurance company.

I love working with a local Representative. Whenever I have problems I can walk into her office and she can usually get the problem addressed in two or three min. The only thing I do not like is I would like to get natural disaster coverage, but it is way overpriced and has a 10% out of pocket. So if the house is destroyed in an earthquake and is valued at $200,000, they will not pay anything till I pay $20,000. The natural disaster coverage is also not through them but a third party that they reference me to.

I had Allstate and filed a claim for roof damage. A complication arose when the roof started to leaked after the roof repair. Allstate was try to deny my claim saying that the leak was not related to the roof repair. After much deliberation on my part they paid for the repair. I had Allstate for over 15 years and paid very high premiums. I dropped them after this claim and have been with State Farm and have a great agent who cares.

I have (4) policies with Allstate, (2) cars (2) homes. I've been with Allstate in the past and recently rejoined them about (3) years ago because of premium hikes with previous company. Can't offer feedback regarding process of claims because I have not had any claims yet. However, in January 2014, I had a situation where one of my homes (condominium rental) experienced some water damage because of a 3rd party's negligence. Even though I was not filing a claim I asked Allstate to please put me on their waiting list for "water extraction" team and I would pay for it and get reimbursed later from 3rd party's insurance because whole state was overwhelmed with busted pipes. They did as did several other companies and they were able to service me in (5) days. That was almost (2) years ago and I still have yet to hear from any of those other water extraction companies.
Also, I was a customer of another Insurance company for over (13) years (Grange), started off with (2) policies and then (4) when I purchased 2nd home and car. I was satisfied for the most part until 2011 when I was experiencing what I thought was too high premium hikes (mainly my primary residence) for someone who had no claims. After bickering with them for years and raising my deductible at least (3) times to combat their price hike, I finally made the decision to branch out to other insurance companies. That is when I switched to Allstate because their premiums were excellent.
The difference in premium for my cars were compatible. My condo home was also compatible. The policy that caused the most problems regarding premiums, my primary resident was the biggest difference. It was over $200 per year cheaper than Grange. Now, (3) years later, I have had a slight increase with car policies but not my (2) homeowner policies. I'm sure Grange premiums increased also. In addition to that Allstate also offers discounts if you pay premium in full, (10%). If you have the money it's well worth it.

I had damage to my roof that 4 roofing experts stated should be covered by Allstate. Both neighbors on either side of my house within 90 feet both had storm damage to their roofs. Both had enough to have their roofs replaced. Both were insured by Allstate Home Owners. Allstate refused to see my damage and worst of when contacted Allstate and sent them pictures of my damage and a report from a roof expert refused to acknowledge the damage. I received a one sentence letter "We are not going to change our position." Allstate failed our family.

Allstate charged me a $25 fee for a check that they could not cash because my bank put a freeze on my account due to identity theft. I replaced the check the next day after I discovering this and called their office. After 15 years of being their customer with NO CLAIMS ever, all my agent, Chuck ** could say was "you'll be missed". So I switched to State Farm and realized I was paying WAY TOO MUCH. I ended up saving hundreds of dollars by combining it with my auto insurance. Allstate, you WON'T be missed! Had I known how I was being ripped off, I would have switched a long time ago.
Reviewed Nov. 29, 2015
We decided to use Allstate for our second house in Brenham, Texas because they had better rates than our State Farm company which still insures our first house in Killeen Texas and we are very happy with. We recently had need for a claim when a very large Oak tree fell on our roof during a storm in October 2015, Allstate insurance adjuster took almost a full month to appear to assess the damage after the incident. The roof sustained significant damage and one of the rooms suffered significant water damage from the leaks in the roof.
Incident was on October 24, adjuster appeared on November 20, because of the long lag in time I was able to obtain many estimates from contractors 2 to 3 for every type of repair needed. The adjuster inspected the damage, developed an estimate within an hour and presented us with the estimate and a check. The check was for about a third of what all contractors bid to make the repairs. When I provided my estimates and indicated parts of the scope of work that were not included in the adjuster's estimate, he said that we would have to apply for supplemental payment and our contractor would have to justify any additional costs. I had to hire the lowest bidder which was at significant risk to me because the contractor was not insured or bonded and I only used because he came recommended by the company that removed the tree and a contractor that estimated the cost for sheet rock damage in the house.
However, even with the lower labor rate the total including materials was double the insurance estimate which was only $447.15, two estimates from other contractors that were bonded and licensed were $1,406 and $1,800. When I contacted the adjuster and informed him about the roof cost and all of the missing parts of the work scope and errors in his estimates, he indicated that he had closed things on his end and gave me a phone number to call the office. When I indicated my displeasure with his estimate, he said he was sorry for everything he missed and said that he paid what his database told him he could pay. When I contacted the office, they said they would need to talk to the contractor and I provided a phone number.
I have halted further repairs, as all estimates are significantly different from the insurance adjuster and I am currently trying to get Allstate insurance to honor all of the estimates I have that invalidate the adjuster estimates for the remaining repairs. I am now going into week two of this process and I'm getting calls for a second Allstate adjuster to come out, to which my reply is the roof work is complete and the only repairs left are internal and it is obvious a second adjuster is not going to fix the problem with the Allstate database which can't generate a realistic cost according to the first adjuster. I am trying to get them to honor the contractor estimates. I have filed a complaint with the Texas Department of insurance (TDI.gov) to see if I can get assistance.

I was an Allstate customer for about seven years. Things went fine until I submitted a claim for my roof. The relationship immediately became adversarial. Allstate was slow to respond to my claim. The adjuster turned down the claim after a 5-minute inspection. Representatives from two roofing companies told me my roof was obviously damaged by wind and hail, but Allstate was more difficult to work with on claims than other companies. I tried to pursue an appeal, but after struggling with Allstate's bureaucracy for two more weeks, I got frustrated, dropped the claim and got a new insurance company.

Even though I have insured several homes & cars with them for years, I had to pay out of pocket for repairs needed--such as ruined drywall in garage, and items ruined in the addition of this house & paid for a company to remediate any mold & or damage. Many neighbors made claims thru other companies that were approved. Also, the rates continue to go up & the replacement costs is almost two times the value of this home. I have had Allstate homeowners and car insurance since I purchased my home approximately 15 years ago. I have never had any claims on home. The suv was involved in a fender bender that was my fault. I called the police because I didn't know who the car belonged to so I filed a report with name and insurance. When Allstate called about the accident they told it is was not going to cover it because I only had insurance to cover that car in case something happened to like a fire or tree falling on it.
Also I had my insurance automatically taken out of my checking account and noticed after a while the price kept getting higher and higher. I called to ask why my insurance was so high and I was going to change so they said they could get down. That was fine for a while and price started getting high again I cancelled my car insurance and only kept homeowners insurance. I received my homeowners statement in the mail saying it was going up 35 percent because I no longer qualified for the discount because of cancelling my auto insurance. I let them know that when my insurance for my home came up again I also will begin changing that.

My rental home was broken into on Wednesday. The AC unit was stolen and the burglar broke the glass slider from the kitchen to the backyard. I called Allstate Claims dept. on Thursday morning. After giving all the information to "Cheryl" she said that she was having computer problems and needed to transfer me to complete my claim. The person that she transferred me to was obviously in a bad mood and said that I already had a claim number and "here it is". I said, "I haven't given the address yet," "well ma'am, here's your number and an adjuster will be contacting you in 24 hours."
24 hours pass and still no door - just a gaping hole. I call again and ask when the adjuster will be contacting me. The person at Allstate Claims says, "we don't have a claim number for you." Ok, let's do this all again. While we are in the process of re-hashing the information, we are disconnected and does not bother to call me back. I call my agent and explain what has happened - very apologetic - my agent get someone on the line for a 3-way conversation. Again, we go through the process and we are assured by Allstate Property Claims department that we will have an adjuster contact us within 24 hours from the time of that conversation (Friday 10:00am).
It is now Saturday at 6:13pm. We called our agent's office and were given another number to call to report this incident. We were told that the Claims department will not contact us until Monday. That will certainly be helpful when a burglar takes the refrigerator, stove, microwave and curtains. I will only have to file one claim. Hope this helps in your decision. August 20, 2015 - the apartment above me had a water pipe burst. The landlord did not have insurance. I own my condo and I had insurance, $500 deductible. The third month I was told they would not honor my insurance and I had to take care of replacing my three walls, lights, sink, and water. I have been paying insurance for many years and was shocked to say the least. Finally I explained to the lady I was speaking to that I don't live in a co-op, I live in a condo. Oh my that is right! She would call me back and let me know what can be done. She called back immediately and said they would take care of the situation.
My kitchen is being replaced with the old beat up cabinet doors which they had taken out in the beginning and placed out on my patio in the only rain we have had here in California in months and left them there for the three months. Now they will paint them to match the perfect cabinets that were there from day one. I insisted on using their contractor so they would be sure to pay for the restoration. I have held a homeowner's policy with Allstate since I bought my house in December 2010. I selected Allstate based on my (very, very positive) experience as an Allstate Automobile Insurance policyholder of 20+ years. The process of applying for my homeowner's insurance was exceedingly easy: I simply used the Allstate website to answer questions and purchase my policy. My homeowner's premiums are part of the escrow in my monthly payments, so everything is streamlined. I receive my new policy declarations more than a month before policy renewal, so I have ample time to review the documents, ask questions and make any changes necessary.
My agent makes a point of reaching out to me several times a year to inquire about the need for policy changes. Fortunately, I have not filed a homeowner's claim. However, based on the OUTSTANDING service I received from both my agent and Allstate's Claims Department when I filed an automobile insurance claim last year, I am confident I would receive nothing less than first-rate service and a speedy settlement of my claim. The adjuster came out and determined it was my skylight and the exhaust pipe on my roof causing the leak and gave me money to have that fixed which I did and the problem was fixed. When Brandon Builders came out to put the tarp on the roof they nailed it down which destroyed my shingles on my roof. I called Brandon Builders and they said that's the only way they could secure the tarp. In October I got another leak in my kitchen due to the nail holes from the tarp. Once again I called Allstate and they told me to get a quote for the nail holes and they would review it.

Furniture, photos, mementos, and documents were destroyed in the process. The leaks were really bad and the roof had to be replaced.
When I filed a claim, Allstate said they wouldn't cover the damage because the roof was old. In 2014, I received a letter from Allstate saying the house had too little insurance on it and it has been this way since 1997. In 2015, why did I finally decide to switch Allstate Insurance to another company... the IRS is auditing me and asked for the insurance claim documents for the replaced roof. This same rental was reported to Allstate last year for wind/hail damage, but Allstate claimed that it was minimal & paid a very minimal amount, approx $200-300 hundred. I am a 25-year client with Allstate (auto and homeowner's insurance). Recently, we had a hailstorm damage in our neighborhood. There were a few roofing companies came by and told me that they could inspect the roof and see if I should make a claim. During that time, at least two companies did not want to follow up after I told them that I have insurance with Allstate, I recall they were saying "Allstate would not pay anything!"
Being careful, I had 4 separate companies inspected my roof and all said that there were damages and I should make a claim. In the meantime, I also see my neighbors have their roofs approved by their insurance companies. The roof that we have on our house has been discontinued, so I learned that even a single shingle is damaged, the whole roof has to be replaced because we cannot buy that shingle anymore.
After talking to my insurance agent, I decided to make the claim. Allstate came out the first time, and said there was no damage, only damages to my metal roofs. They would pay me about $1000 to repair the roof. I did not take up the offer, and made some complaints with my agent. I also assigned one of the roofing companies, Aspen roofing, working with Allstate. Aspen sent them photos of the damages they found. Allstate decided to come out the second time. My roofing company climbed up the roof and marked all the damages that they believed that were caused by the hailstorm. Allstate adjuster also declined with the reason that they were not consistent enough.
I just cannot believe the practice and the way that Allstate conducting its business here. 3 out of the 6 houses on my street, 1 right next door to me and one across the street have had their claims approved by their insurance (the other two, as I understand have not made any claim yet). How can Allstate can say there is no damage and my roofing company does have a number of photos showing me that there are damages. I am not a roofing expert but the photos I have showing hailstorm damages similar to images that I can find on the internet!! (See one example that I include in this message.) Going through this page, I can see a number of other people in the same boat with me. Wonder if anything we can do as a group to reverse this, what I consider, a bully and unfair business practice... If you have any advice, please provide comments here. Thanks in advance.

First claim after 35 years with Allstate, only to discover that the policy I had paid for year after year isn't worth the paper it is printed on! The hose burst that delivers water to our refrigerator, ice maker and water dispenser, opening up a hole in the sheetrock behind it and dumping gallons of water. Our refrigerator is enclosed by wood cabinets on both sides and the common wall between the kitchen and living room. Because most of the water drained down into the crawl space, and everything seemed to work normally we did not discover the problem until we noticed buckling in the wood floor directly in front of the refrigerator.
We notified Allstate, stopped the water flow, and did our best to clean up the mess. We waited five days for someone from Allstate to examine our damage, only to be informed they would not cover it because it had been going on for longer than 7 days. We couldn't believe the lame excuse they hid behind, and still don't. The adjuster quoted chapter and verse from the policy and stated that because there was mold growing, that the condition had been going on for longer than a week. In my circumstance, the only way I might have discovered the leak any sooner would have been to take weekly inspection trips under the house. How many of us do something like that?
I am now stuck with thousands in remediation and rebuilding costs, upheaval and the inconvenience of trying to live without a kitchen. From my perspective, this is exactly the kind of financial loss that I thought I was insuring myself against! It is my opinion that Allstate is in the business of collecting premiums and denying claims, contrary to their advertising.

This company has been ripping me off and I only found out by accident. I have been with this company for 14 years. When I signed up with them in 2001 I sat down with an agent and went through homeowners insurance with them, told them what my house was, and apparently the agent put in wrong info. Not sure why because I did not give this info.
The info on your policy is only on their internal website, not on the original paperwork nor is it on the declaration paper you get yearly. I have asked my agent over the years to see if I can lower my bill and no one ever caught this mistake until a few days ago. ALLSTATE per their policy as I am told can only go back 365 days. They do not care about the customer, only their GREEDY Pockets. DO NOT USE ALLSTATE. THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT YOU!!!

We bought a new house. I have my auto and house through Allstate now. When I went to my Allstate agent to start a new policy on my new home we discovered my husband's social security number was correct on the policy we have now with them, but mine is wrong in their system. The social security number they have on file for me brought up someone else's information (street address and state, date of birth and last name. The only thing that matched was our first names). The agent there tried to tell me that they got that information from TransUnion credit!
Wait. I gave them all my information including my social security number when I started the policy with them 7 years ago. That is standard practice as anyone knows when you get a insurance quote. They are the one that entered my social security number on the policy and used it to check my credit with TransUnion. Not the other way around. TransUnion credit didn't give Allstate my info. Because we have been In the process of buying a house we have checked our credit many times with my social security number and the credit companies all have my correct information. Yet Allstate doesn't? The company I signed the policy with?
So now I sit and wonder, if all these years, I have been paying premiums based on someone else's driving record and credit! My rates have skyrocketed in the last year or so and now I'm pretty sure I know why. How do I get an accurate quote when they are not quoting my driving record? Needless to say we are looking for another insurance company and WILL find different insurance with a better rate based in MY driving record, not someone else's. Furthermore I am going to talk to a lawyer about getting reimbursed for paying ridiculous premiums that weren't even based on my driving record or social security number. The Allstate agency was Greg Brawner in Bay Village, Ohio.

Allstate was supposed to have a team that responds to your claims in a timely manner, with structure and accountability. This is far from what I receive after a house fire rendered my home uninhabitable. A response to remove our items from the home took 9 days from the fire. This was only after I called corporate phone and got the content adjuster's manager. The content adjuster never physically inspected or evaluated our belongings. Then to add to the frustration, they contracted Servpro and an electronics company of their choosing to clean our items.
What happens next - we receive uncleaned items three months later, some with only the finger prints in the soot, moldy food inside and paper wrapped around them. I guess Allstate doesn't feel the adjuster should check on its vendors for quality. This was around Thanksgiving of 2014. I contacted them on their own website about the horrible state of my contents and how my claim was being handled. It took until August to slowly clean all of our stuff ourselves and to receive a call from the adjuster that wanted to know why I was upset. They now want to re-inspect our items and are unwilling to just compensate my family for what they put my family through when I paid them to insure my family against this event. At this point, I would recommend you set yourself on fire before purchasing any insurance coverage of any kind from Allstate.

I switched to Allstate based on the quote they gave me for home and auto insurance that was very affordable with excellent coverage... After switching over I found out they left my child off of the auto policy, thus explaining why I received such a low rate for auto. The agent couldn't explain why my child was omitted but happily sent me a bill for the $700+ uplift. Shortly afterwards I received a letter indicating that my Home coverage premium was increased by $240 because my Garage was not attached to my home. However the second floor of my home sits squarely on top of my garage. I had the home built in 2007 and it was purchased as a single family home with an ATTACHED garage. Allstate's justification for ignoring that was that the garage was not 100% covered by the second floor so therefore they consider that unattached. Very dissatisfied, can't find a new provider soon enough so I can dump these clowns.

I have been fighting the claims and charges for my homeowners for cost 5 years. I have called and called and called with concerns of the adjuster. That one underestimated my damage not once but twice. No one would help me. They use a calculator that is not the same as the homeowner rebuild. How can you estimate cost of today's cost to repair or rebuild and the cost will be lower if you file a claim, and that not all the items that was damaged included on the claim? Then charge you out the butt for homeowner's insurance and keep going up and up on it. They are charging what they want, when they want. Loopholes and people have such a hard time to get what they pay for. They have made it to where I cannot get other company to insure me because the claims listed.
Why should have to pay what they tell me to pay for? Like other structures, my coverage for the is $13,722. The other structure I have is a building to store stuff. So why can't I choose to have a lower amount like $10,000? This company has screwed me from fixing the damage to my home that I have paid for the policy to cover. For 10 years of being with this company, they have done nothing. Paying over $12,000 to them and cannot receive nothing to fix my home that with one claim, $3000.00 to fix maybe, they estimated it to be $760. I think, "Now that is a problem. I pay for a service that I do not receive."

I asked for an adjuster three times now to check the roof. Each time I had pits and damage but not quite enough for replacement. Oddly enough the neighbors all had new roofs with other carriers, but somehow the storms always jump over my house to hit theirs I guess. Was given $900 last time to fix a leak and replace shingles/siding/vent cap. This time $900 again but "no hail damage exists" so I guess it repaired itself since last storm. My husband has had Allstate Insurance since he was 16, renters insurance as soon as he got his first apartment and homeowners insurance when he bought his first house at 32. He is now 43 and we had our first homeowners claim 2 years ago from hail damage. In fact the entire area was declared a natural disaster. They barely covered anything, just a bit of siding and gutters. They stated our roof was fine even though we had less damage than our neighbors who had their entire roof replaced by State Farm. This year we had another storm and our neighbors patio umbrella flew into our house breaking our window and some siding. We called Allstate not knowing that North Carolina has no good neighbor law. Which means we were liable for the damage and the neighbors weren't. When the adjuster told me that I told him I wanted to withdraw the claim and he said he would tell them to do that.
We replaced the window and siding out of our pocket. We've had one homeowners claim and one vehicle claim in 27 years that cost them maybe $2k total at the most. We recently sold our house and are renting an apartment since we've been relocated to another city and will purchase a new home in the next year. Now we've been denied renters insurance for the apartment because we've had "too many claims." My husband called State Farm and they were going to let us get insurance until they saw that Allstate had included the claim we withdrew. WTF!?
Now we have to deal with the hassle of getting Allstate to remove the claim and find a company that will give us renters insurance. Ok seriously, one homeowners' claim in 12 years, no renters insurance claims and one vehicle claim (minor damage) in 27 years and all of a sudden we're a risk?? Isn't this what insurance is for!? We can't control Mother Nature so what are we supposed to do? If someone burns down the apartment building we lose everything. What kind of company does that to people??? Good hands my patootie.

The smoke and soot covered everything I owned. Due to the condition we could no longer stay in our home. The fire blew our furnace and half the electric. We filed a claim and begun the process of dealing with many different people. Months later without hearing anything I received a letter from an attorney stating I had to attend a EUO. Also had to supply them with numerous personal paperwork. I obliged and in a timely manner got them all they asked for. I attended the euo and answer all questions.
A month later Chris ** told me my claim was approved! I thought finally I can get this mess cleaned up and get my life back on track. Boy was I wrong. I had gotten estimates for contractor, cleaning thru Serb-pro, electrician, furnace guy, along with my list of inventory of my destroyed items. The claim amount was close to 60,000. They offered me 18,000!!! Seriously I was in shock but willing to negotiate some costs of thing just to settle and be done. No one would respond to my questions and no one would even fix the wrongs on their offer even. Needless to say I am now ten days away from nowhere to live and no closer to getting my house back to the way it was.
Also in the structure offer she did not include any amount for the electrician nor the furnace repair that clearly happened bc of the fire. Also the cleaning estimate thru Serv-pro was 10,000 alone. (They told me to hire this cleaning company.) I am in total disbelief that they have treated me this way. What they are offering would only pay for the cleaning and the repainting and leave me nothing to replace the bathroom where the fire I occurred nor any of my belongings that were destroyed! How can they do this to people? I will be switching companies and I will be posting on all social media sights! I also filed a claim with the BBB!

I have insurance for just this type of event but they have given me new excuses including had I made changes to the bathroom then they would cover my claim. Ironically the water company took a 9-day reading which directly aligned with when we were out of town and it showed 12,000 gallons of hot water dumped onto my floors and my crawl space. The damage to my home is upwards of $125,000 and Allstate denied the claim. They indicated there appeared to be an ongoing leak from the dishwasher and that was not a covered item. They sent a young inexperienced adjuster out who denied it on the spot. I hired my own private adjuster (which I would advise everyone to do) who met with the adjuster and requested either a supervisor, large loss adjuster and/or an engineer come out and review the case. They did none of the above. Meanwhile they have put my family in jeopardy due to the amount of mold that is growing in my crawl space.
I am tired of Allstate using their delay, deny and defend bully tactics to not live up to their contract. They bank on the fact that most of us will just take whatever they offer or get tired of fighting them and just give up and unfortunately this is what happens the majority of the time. If you are being treated unfairly you need to fight back. Get your own adjuster and lawyer and push to get what is coming to you and what you paid premiums for. I plan to take my case all the way and sue them for bad faith practices as well. Just remember you ARE NOT in Good Hands with Allstate.

I’ve had my home and car covered by Allstate since May 2010. I’ve never had any issues before but back in April of this year a really bad storm came through the area I live in causing damage to my roof and completely knocking down my privacy fence. I filed a claim with Allstate then the adjuster came out who was super nice. A few days later the adjuster called and proceeded to tell me that my fence would not be covered because some time ago during a policy renewal Allstate dropped my fence coverage. I had no idea! Now, I’m sure it was in fine print somewhere buried in my policy renewal. Honestly who reads a policy from cover to cover? The adjuster was steadily apologizing to me saying I work for them and I cannot believe they do business like this.
Anyway, after that happen I called and spoke to my agent who stated she didn’t even know this happen. Excuse me but shouldn’t an agent be fully aware of things like this? After talking with my agent she explained to me that she along with other agents was working on the higher ups to see if something can be done about this. Apparently I was not the only customer in the area with the same issue. A few days later I had to call my agent back because she never called me. At that point I was told that nothing could be done that my fence would in fact not be covered. I was angry but eventually got over it and was willing to just drop it.
A few months later I came out of pocket and built a new fence. After I built the new fence I called my agent to see what it would cost to add coverage to include my new fence. When I called I spoke to someone who sounded like he didn’t even have a clue as to what insurance is. He put me on hold then came back to the line and told me that my agent would look into this and give me a call back in the morning. The next day I heard nothing from my agent. I started to grow angry again. Finally I sent an email to my agent asking for some information regarding my policy as well as letting her know that I was not happy about not receiving a phone call back like she stated she would. My agent emailed me back apologizing and blaming it on their system being down.
Okay, if that were the case at least give me a courtesy call and let me know that. In my agents email she also told me that she confirmed this morning that there is no way that I could buy back the wind coverage for my fence. I was furious! After everything that happen to me I was willing to forget it and after building a new fence was even requesting the amount to buy additional coverage to protect my fence and I can’t even do that! Allstate is a joke! If you have a fence and Allstate is who you have homeowner’s insurance with you should confirm whether it’s covered or not. I have already gotten one quote from a company and they do include fences in their policy under other structures. Allstate will be losing my business!

Back in Sept 2013 I had called their emergency line to find out if my homeowners covered the flood damage from Colorado's Sept floods. An agent called me back and informed me they won't cover seeping ground water. Whatever, so glad I pay for home insurance. No claim was filed, no adjuster came to my home, in fact I never heard from Allstate again regarding this issue. I moved on with my life and decided when my BF moved in it was cheaper to go on his Auto insurance with State Farm than what I was paying for Auto with Allstate. I got 2 months out from my homeowners policy renewing and due to my policy rates more than doubling, I decided to move my homeowners insurance over to State Farm as well. Allstate had plenty of notice on the cancellation of the policy yet they billed my mortgage company anyway.
They quickly admitted to their mistake and issued me a refund. 1 week before my homeowners policy is set to expire, State Farm sends me a notice that they cannot cover my home due to a claim on my previous policy. I quickly called State Farm and asked them what on earth they were talking about. They informed me that a claim was created in 2013. I called Allstate and they stated that if you call the 1800 # a claim is automatically created. This is crap!! It was an inquiry not a claim. State Farm needed a letter written from Allstate showing that there was no damage and no pay out for damage.
Even though Allstate didn't look at my property and did not issue any form of help whatsoever, they refuse to write me the letter. Now after 12 years of home ownership I cannot get homeowners insurance because Allstate won't write a stupid letter and State Farm, even though they know there is no claim wont give me a policy. As far as I am concerned, both companies are worthless.

We have had Allstate Homeowners Insurance since 2006. In October 2014, we were told that we needed a home inspection. Not sure why as we hadn't filed any claims and had paid our premiums (almost $1500 a year) through our mortgage escrow account. At the end of October, we got a letter stating that we had things they wanted repaired before they would renew our policy in March. I live in the Northeast, about 1-2 hours from Canada in New York State. We often get snow up here at the end of October/beginning of November. So we figured, "hey, we've got until May to get this done".
In February, our boiler furnace froze up due to the extreme cold we had been suffering for nearly a month. The fuel oil had gelled in the pipe going from the oil tank to the boiler. The pipe runs along the outside foundation. We weren't aware that this had happened at first because we also have a wood stove so were able to keep the house fairly comfortable during this extremely cold weather. The boiler was only 12 years old, as it had been replaced a few months after we moved in again due to extremely cold weather and the power being out due to a windstorm (and we were NOT with Allstate at that time).
An iron pipe for the water actually froze and broke the pipe and we woke up to the sound of water at 4:30 in the morning (we could hear it from the 2nd floor). Went down and turned off the water and called our plumber/contractor the next day. Unfortunately he could not make it out to the house to inspect the furnace and see what repairs needed to be made because at the time, everyone up here was having issues with their furnaces due to the extreme usual cold snap we were having. He got there about 2-3 days later. Saw the damage, said he was afraid the seals had been damaged on the unit as well and advised that the entire boiler be replaced.
We called our agent who works for an insurance company who handles multiple insurance companies. She immediately insisted it was for "wear and tear", seeing as we had had no problems in the previous 12 years we had had the boiler, and this year was particularly cold. I insisted she call Allstate as I know they get a percentage from the premiums paid, and she is supposed to advocate for us as her clients, right? Finally someone from Allstate calls me, but they were from quick claims. They passed the claim off to Catastrophe Claims. The woman who was our adjustor - in New Jersey, no less - tells us that yes we are covered for that type of damage in our policy and she would be sending out an engineer to inspect the furnace.
This guy didn't deal with or fix furnaces at all, he was just an engineer. By now we are in March almost 3 weeks since first reporting this claim. We didn't want to speak with him as we are seeing by this time that Allstate adjustors try to trip you up and admit that YOU did something to the item in question so they don't have to pay out. He says that there is no fuel oil in the tank, because he disconnected the fuel filter and no oil came out (it was still below 20 degrees at this point). He does recommend, however, that once it gets warm and perhaps the frozen or gelled oil thaws enough that we should have a "disinterested 3rd party" come out and inspect it.
Note that we have been able to smell fuel oil coming up from the basement into our kitchen since he disconnected the fuel filter and supposedly reconnected it, and we have oil on the floor in the area of that filter, but we didn't have any oil in the tank (we know we did because we had to get Fuel Oil from a local vendor which we got in gas cans and put in ourselves, as we could not afford the $100 gallon minimum the oil vendors around here charge for delivery. This fuel oil was rated at -40 degrees, so should NOT have frozen; our own furnace contractor said he believe it also could be sludge from the bottom of the tank that was gelled/frozen in the fuel line also).
At the beginning of April, we had the "disinterested 3rd party" as well as our regular contractor come out again and give us an estimated for just repairing that section of the furnace where the pipe broke - $900 approximately as opposed to $10K for replacing the entire furnace. Allstate STILL insisted it was due to a "maintenance issue" and still refused to pay for it! Also note that in January we received a letter from Allstate telling us that they expected our roof to be replaced, as well as our chimney repointed and the trim/soffits/etc painted BY THE END OF FEBRUARY, even though our policy was not up for renewal until May!!
Again, we contacted our local agent who asked that we send pictures of what we had done that wasn't dependent on warmer weather to see if we could buy some time. You CAN'T PAINT, PUT ON A ROOF, OR REPOINT A CHIMNEY IN COLD TEMPERATURES!!! You'll just have to redo it over again. We were STILL having snow and cold temperatures on April 1 (as I type this, we had 80+ degree weather last week, and now are in the 30s to 50s again - still too cold for these repairs to be made).
We did send pictures of the minor repairs they wanted done - replacing part of a board on our back porch OUTSIDE THE RAILING (no one walks outside the railing on the porch), cleaning up "debris" next to the house, replacing/removing the chimney cap due to creosote build up, etc, which we did. Heard nothing else from Allstate regarding the removal after that point, so we think we are going to get extra time to make our repairs once the weather gets warmer.
On May 6, I call our agent to find out what is going on with the renewal. She tells me they are not renewing the policy! (And that was the next day.) I ask her "what are we supposed to do now, as we have a mortgage and we HAVE TO HAVE HOMEOWNER'S INSURANCE IN NEW YORK STATE". She says she will call her Allstate contact and let us know. To this point we've heard nothing more from her.
At week 2 of not having any insurance, we get a letter from our mortgage company saying they have put us on lenders insurance ($1200 for 3 months or $100 per week), and that if we don't get another mortgage company within 45 days, they will charge us for the entire amount. I panic… because we were told by our insurance agent that "no one will cover you until the repairs are done". Happened to be talking to my sister and her husband owns a rental property that he needed to cover while it was being repaired.
New York State has their own homeowner's policies that are pretty much just basic plans, so you can have coverage that is ok with your mortgage company and pay less, and be covered while doing work (My question was, "What about these people who have mortgages on fixer-uppers? They have to be covered!"). I filled out all the paperwork and got documentation they needed, sent it along with my electronic check last Friday 5/29 and see that today, 6/2, they have deposited my $75 downpayment check, so I am assuming we got the coverage. My questions is, why didn't the agent tell us about this coverage? I didn't expect to hear about it from our mortgage company which isn't even in this state (but assuming they probably knew as well).
So in other words, Allstate wanted us to spend money to fix things on the house (the roof wasn't leaking, it is a slate roof and had some moss growing on some of the slate tiles but was not leaking because a leak we had a few years ago was repaired, the chimney was in the same shape as it was when we bought the house as a bank foreclosure, etc) yet would not pay on a claim that we should have been covered for, and then declined to renew our policy!! After 9 years without any claims prior to 2/2015!!! Plus they took over a month to decline our claim in the first place, and then after we gave them the "disinterested 3rd party" estimate that THEY said we should have, they STILL wouldn't pay it. For $1400+ a year from our escrow for this policy, for 9 years, I feel we got ripped out. And while the person we had to deal with at the Catastrophe Claim center was polite and said she was sorry, that didn't get my furnace repair paid for.
Now we are faced with paying for the repair for the boiler furnace ourselves - almost $900 - and hoping it doesn't leak water after that part is done, plus we still have to finish the roofing which we are doing ourselves, repoint the chimney which we are doing ourselves, and paint the soffits, etc - in addition to having to get new insurance that we had to find on our own because our agent was too lazy to help us!
I work for a local hospital and may not have a job after summer is over; and my significant other is a disabled veteran. We make "too much" money to get help but with buying the supplies to fix these things ourselves, with the exception of the furnace, we are falling behind on our other bills. Currently we can't get tv service in this area because we live in the mountains we can't get even the local channels, and we have had our satellite service disconnected because we are behind on the bill. I have had to cancel my internet service which I use to work, so it's more difficult to get the money we need to repair this stuff, and over the winter no less!
The repairs needed cannot possibly be done in the winter as it is too cold for cement to properly cure for repointing the chimney, tar to seal up nail holes in the roof doesn't flow, and you definitely can't paint outside in the winter. So now what the hell are we supposed to do? They've got their money but we might as well have had no coverage at all. Definitely run fast and run far from anyone offering you Allstate Insurance. THEY SUCK!!!

I contacted All State back in April 2015 to file a claim that my roof was leaking. They told me they would get an adjuster out. About 6 weeks later I was contacted about an adjuster would be coming out on Thursday, so I took off work and waited but no adjuster - he came out the next day. Inspected my roof and the leak in my attic, he then told me the wind only blows one way and there is no way the wind could of blown the shingles off the roof, and that I wasn't maintaining my roof. I am not a roofer, I don't know what I should have been doing since I am unable to get on the roof from surgery that I have had.
I still have water leaking in my garage which they said they would get back to me. I have had a roofer out and he said my roof had severe wind damage and also wrote that on his estimate. ALL STATE is a HORRIBLE insurance company which doesn't want to pay for my roof but I have been paying them for insurance since 1999. I don't recommend ALL STATE to anyone.

My bathtub overflowed, causing the floor to give way. At first, the claims department denied my claim. The adjuster, **, blurted out in our conversation that he was doing so because 100 claims adjusters had been let go in the Bay area. When I confronted him with his remark, he conceded and sent out a contractor to do the work. My steel & enamel tub and shower were replaced with plastic. The shower doors are the wrong size. The toilet was reset crooked. The walls were painted with water based paint as the painter alleged that oil based paint was no longer legal. The painter had to come back 3 times as the water based paint continuously bubbled. The grouting needed to be replaced and is continuously coming out. The contractors left two huge holes in my wall, one of which they covered with a piece of painted plywood. The other hole is still there.
My policy is for replacement cost with the option for me to choose my own contractor. That option was never offered me and the replacements made by Applied Restoration are not even close to being of the same quality as those being replaced. When the new floor began to warp 2 years after the repairs but still within the warranty period, I contacted Allstate and the adjuster. It took 3 years of me badgering them for Allstate to send 3 people to inspect: an Allstate representative, a representative from Alacrity (the company they use to choose a contractor), and the owner of Applied Restoration. I told them in advance of the problem I was having with the plastic tub and shower they had installed: it stains horribly and nothing gets these stains out. I confirmed with a friend who works for Building & Safety that, in fact, there is nothing that will get the stains out of a "fiberglass" bathtub.
I asked that Allstate bring whatever they thought might remove these stains. The three who showed up noted the stains, brought nothing to address the problem, and offered no solution. The three observed the warped flooring, one went under the house and reported no problems with the under-belly. They offered to peel back the carpet, but would have had to cut the carpeting substantially to inspect underneath. I agreed, but only if they agreed in advance that they would fix the problem. They refused.
I've tried contacting my agent (Roy Garza, The Roy Garza Agency). I left a dozen messages for him with his staff and another half dozen phone messages on his machine. He never responded. I finally got him on the telephone, and he was arrogant and told me he would do nothing to help me....that he's an independent contractor; and if Allstate doesn't like his work, he can sell Farmers or some other insurance product. He then hung up on me. I've been insured with Allstate since I bought my home 20 years ago. Mr. Garza bought this agency from the previous owner just a few years back. I don't know what to do? It's incredible that a company spending tens of millions of dollars advertising its product can care so little about its clients.

Our home was broken into February 12th, and my wife's jewelry, collected over 40 years, was stolen. Allstate was our homeowner's carrier on the day of the break-in. Included in my wife's collection was a pair of earrings that I purchased for $9,300.00 in 2000 as a 50th birthday gift for her. I purchased a separate policy rider for them from Allstate. After examining the sales receipt and appraisal I submitted, they provided us $9,300.00 worth of coverage for the pair, and collected additional premiums for just that item every year for many years.
This month, when Allstate finally decided to help us recover from our loss (NB: that's a joke), and pay our claim, they offered to send us compensation for the earrings totaling $6,200.00. (If you read that and said "What?" then you know how I felt.) Allstate explained that they could purchase "replacement earrings" for that sum. I'll spare you the details of the argument that was precipitated by their position. What matters is that Allstate didn't budge, because that's what Allstate does best: STONEWALL ON CLAIMS.
Here's what is important: Our policy unequivocally showed Allstate agree to provide us with $9,300 in coverage for the earrings; we paid for that coverage; The jeweler who sold us the earrings in 2000 has an identical pair for sale today for $12,900.00; Notwithstanding all of this, Allstate claims it can replace my wife's earrings for 2/3rd of the 2000 (Y2K) purchase price, claiming the earrings they have in mind are "as good as the one's [I] purchased"!
In essence, Allstate was taking the position that we had over-insured the earrings. They didn't take that position at the time we purchased the insurance and paid for the coverage; they took it years later, after there was a loss and a claim made. Get the picture? Further, they defied logic by refusing my demand, that they owed us a refund for the difference in premiums paid for the excess insurance they'd sold us. Actually, they laughed at me for asking them to do that.
The law says it's too late for them to take the position they did, but Allstate and I both know they will bankrupt us, grind us to dust, or both, if we try and recover the difference in court. It's a game they know I cannot win, and a strategy I've since learned is the foundation of their insurance business philosophy. My recommendation is that you learn from my experience. Purchase insurance from a company that treats you like a client, not a pest. Now that I think of it, Allstate should be in the extermination business, not selling insurance.

Allstate Homeowners Insurance - You are in bad hands with Allstate. Don't take for granted that you have been a client with "Allstate" for (30) thirty years and that you will get the service you expect during your claim event. Think of this example, an 86 year old recently widowed lady, who has had two strokes, experienced a weather event requested claim assistance from Allstate. A time in her life she desperately needed Allstate help.
Allstate is giving her the run around and is refusing to replace her roof shingles nor would not even look at the interior water damage. Didn't even go inside. Packed his ladder up, gave me his card and left. They just don't care. Most roofing contractors I have talked to don't even want to deal with Allstate, its just a waste of time for the homeowner and the roofing contractors. So, if you have Allstate Homeowners insurance I would strongly suggest you review your coverage and start looking before its too late and you are left holding the repairs bills yourself.

We decided to switch our homeowners insurance to Allstate after having problems with our previous company. We decided to go with Allstate since the previous owners (a family member) of our house had insurance through them before we bought it. Three weeks later we received a letter stating Allstate was cancelling our policy in two weeks. I didn't understand the reasons listed so I called our agent. I was told that the reason they were canceling our insurance was because we had a dirt bike on the side of the yard and because there was a hole in the house. I told them we explained to the lady who had come to take pictures that we had brought the dirt bike from out of town, and that it belonged to my brother who was finishing up his garage and would be picking it up in a week or two. She said she saw where it was noted in the report that the bike did not belong to us and would be gone in a week.
She explained that wasn't the "real reason" they were canceling our policy. It was because of the hole in our house. After her explaining where the hole was I realized it was a vent in the foundation for the crawl space. I explained this and she told me she would have the agent call Allstate and get back to me. I didn't hear from him for a few days so I called back. I was able to speak to the agent and had to explain everything again as he didn't know what I was talking about. After hearing my story and looking over the report he said it was probably due to the fact that the mesh cover was torn on the top of the vent and mice could get into the foundation. I explained that when installing our cable the technician tore the mesh and that it had since been replaced with an aluminum vent.
He requested pictures and I emailed them right away. We are a few days away from losing our homeowners insurance and have no idea what's going on. I can't believe that Allstate would cancel our policy over two small things that was fixed before they decided to cancel. I'm angry that we didn't have an option of fixing the problems, just immediate cancellation. If I wasn't so busy I would forget about Allstate and find another insurance company to go with. But the experiences we've had with two different companies has me worried we would never be able to get insurance on the home. I had considered changing over our auto insurance with Allstate but will not ever chose them as an insurance company again.

Allstate pulled the famous 3 D's on me (deny, delay, defend). This is a long story so I'll keep it short. My attorney advised me not to sell insurance while the law suit is going on (conflict of interest). I have now lost my home, my personal belongings and my career. Allstate issued a check to the bank that had a lien on my house after denying the claim which makes no sense. I'm not giving up but will never be able to recover from this completely. My house was totally destroyed due to water damage from a busted pipe. **, the initial person assigned to the claim was very helpful and immediately started the process to repair the damages in my house. That would soon change once my claim was reassign to another adjuster.
**, the adjusters in the Catastrophe Branch, Wilson, N.C., were the most unprofessional and disrespectful people that I have ever encountered at Allstate. The Commissioner's office is not a legislative entity nor can they provide legal advice although they have been extremely cooperative and collegial.
Allstate is a terrible company with arrogant personnel, including my agent and their adjusters, all of whom basically accused me of painting over the collateral damage to my gutters and downspouts to which they on the first two evaluations denied that I had any collateral damage let alone any roof damage. Flood 2/2012. We didn't file at that time because we didn't think our damage was more than 2000 (our deductible). Didn't want our premiums to go up again. We cleaned up and dehumidifier the area. In 8/2014 while doing upgrades to our home we discovered water damage, now mold in areas. Unknown became extremely ill from being in garage due to mold. I called my agent and asked “could we file a claim for a flood 2 years ago.” We had no idea we had further damage. He suggested “yes, absolute file a claim it will be covered.” We had to sign as special disclosure. Filed a flood insurance claim 9/2014 due to water damage that was discovered. We didn't know the water damage ruined the walls in our garage, damaged crawl space and have water damage in walls of home attached to the garage. The outside of our home that was flooded up to water line, siding was peeling off.
We met with the Adjuster, who took photos. We signed a form and questioned for a disclosure because the form said we're given one from the adjuster. He said he was out. I wrote on the form signed ‘need disclosure’. He said it would be mailed. NEVER received. Written request several times, along with my asking my own agent. We also requested a copy of the proof of loss the adjuster was working on. We were told we needed to sign it. I called my agent several times along with the adjuster requesting a copy of our proof of loss and disclosure.
How do we know he even submitted our true claim. They won't give us a copy. I thought we have to see it and sign it before it is even sent to the claim department?? Apparently not! Is this really true? The VP of the claims department emailed me the disclosure the same day we were denied might even been after. He said we were denied due to time frame. But the letter said because we already completed all the work.
First denial was due to address. In 2006, our street name changed. We have had flood insurance since we purchase our home in 1996. Built 1991. We filed a change of address with Allstate. They changed all of our policy except flood. Because they did not do this we had to wait several months for their process to take place. Meanwhile they would not proceed on our claim. After months, water damaged is now mold. We had to fix part of our home in order to live safely. We had severe black toxic mold. We have been ill.
Once the change of address was finalized, ALLSTATE told us we would receive a copy of proof of loss for us to review. I question why we had to wait to see the proof of loss. One week later, the claims dept a main adjuster, said that “no the street name hasn't been changed yet and it would take several months.” YIKES angry, I said “no I was told it has been changed.” Another week goes by, still no copy of proof of loss. Then I finally get a call from the VP of the department until February 3rd, also said a letter was sent January 30th. Said “yes name changed but we were turned down due to time filed.” When we received the denial it said because we already completed the work.
In the month of December after waiting several months we had to fix the wall attached to the garage and bedroom. The water damaged turned into toxic mold. We didn't have the money to move and wait for them to change the address. Our claim was turned down! Stated “because work was completed.” Note: We only fixed the wall that was on the other side of garage wall (our bedrooms). Due to the amount of time passed, my family has medical problems due to toxic mold. Medical bills and possibly permanent damage to my little boy and myself.
NOTE: PROOF of flood was not an issue. Home across street was torn down, flood was in paper, other homes had claims. WE PAID THEM FOR HOMEOWNERS AND A SEPARATE REQUIRED FLOOD INSURANCE Policy. IN ADDITION OUR PREMIUMS WENT FROM $702 A MONTH IN 2004 TO $2300 MONTH THIS 2015! This was also in addition BANK OF AMERICA was charging us because they wanted us to have more coverage. Our premiums for Flood insurance were included in our mortgage payment.
WE ARE SEEKING A ATTORNEY! For WRONGFUL DENIAL of Flood claim and believe they are increasing our premiums illegally. Our neighbors with a large home cost is less than ours. Apparently Allstate did not submit our claim to the national flood division. Was denied in Allstate’s claim department. I thought it had to be submitted to a national flood division. That is why they couldn't submit earlier until they changed the address. Then they never even submitted. When I was told this, I knew they were being fraudulent. WE HAVE LIVED IN OUR HOME FOR 18 YEARS~ NEVER HAVE FILED A CLAIM! Seeking LEGAL HELP!.. Recommendations! We have less than 30 days left for appeal. (60 days from 1/30/2015.)

Several floods in my area and in my basement from Chicago's poor sewage drain system. I had several floods and never contacted my insurance until it got so bad and this particular time so much sewer water came in and created such a black moldy mess of my drywall and furniture that was in my basement. I thought just for my own health safety I contacted Allstate and again they had a Natural Disaster Team in place for the same date of the storm I had the flood from.
I have (2) TWO Natural Disaster meaning of no fault of my own, nothing careless on my part, two acts I clearly had nothing to do with hence the term Natural disaster, and I get a letter in the mail telling me they can no longer be my Insurance company! 18 years I have given them and Two Natural Disasters later and all the money that I have been paying Allstate...never been late. I pay my Homeowners Insurance in with my Mortgage Payment and Allstate pays out TWO Natural Disaster Claims that didn't even cover the entire amount of each Claim. I still had to put my savings towards to finish both Disasters and you want to drop me! Then I need some clarification in what the heck is Allstate good for, and why on earth is your motto "You're in good hands"? Allstate paid the claims quickly that I will give to them, but if you're paying the claim quick so you can quickly get rid of the customer then let that be your new motto.
How dare you drop me after 2 claims both from Natural Disasters that are of no fault of my own and I've been your customer for 18 plus years. What do you want your customers to do, pay their premium, but God forbid if you have a claim then we drop you! I will not stop until I get to the right person or department that will help me with this issue. I don't care who I have to write to let everyone know what Allstate is all about. "The Good Hands People" -- they act like you're something hot in their hands and drop you like a hot potato! They must change their motto! The customer service is second to none. I was extremely pleased with my customer service with both of my claims and wrote a letter expressing how happy I was with my service. Now you want to drop me? Unbelievable!

Walking my small dog, was attacked by a Pitbull. Bite myself and dog 21 times - two on me, broke my dog's leg, dislocated his hip bone. I got Pitbull in head lock and off my dog before he killed it. Owner had half the bottom of his fence missing, Pit just walked out, we were down the street. Owner of Pit has Allstate Insurance, they refused to pay for damages to myself because I put myself in harm's way by saving my dog. I was to stand there and let an irresponsible owner's dog kill mine. Way to go Allstate - you'll get my business.

Someone damage the AC compressor that is in my backyard. One can tell by looking at it that it was damage by a tool being pushed through he coils. Three AC companies have told me that it will cost over $10000 to repair, Allstate's expert says it should only cost $3000 to fix. Note Allstate's expert who owns a repair business refused to perform the work for $3000. When I expressed my displeasure with this settlement, Allstate's man promptly accused me of damaging the unit myself and promised that I would be the focus of a fraud investigation. Basically I have given up.
