I started a claim and contacted by text a short time later and given a contact number and a name, Antonio **. They scheduled an appointment for an inspector to come to my home a survey the damage. After that took place I was told I would hear from the adjuster to advise how to proceed. I waited a few hours and when I hadn't heard from the adjuster I reached out to him. I had a brief conversation with him and asked how soon I might expect to hear from Allstate regarding removing the tree that had fallen on my house and possibly getting a tarp put to protect my home from further water damage and he claimed that he hadn't received any information from the inspector yet and if there was any further damage caused by the rain that I should just add it to my claim and that I should hear from him after he received the report from the inspector.
I got off the phone with Antonio and call the main number for the Hitchcock Group and spoke with a lady who informed that there was in fact information from the inspector that has already been uploaded into the system and she sent a direct message to Antonio to reach out to me. Here I sit at the end of another business day after talking to several associates who weren't my assigned adjuster, Antonio ** and leaving a a message Antonio's manager and still no one has contacted me. I beginning to believe that the problem isn't just Antonio but it seems that Allstate has a culture problem. They reach out to me at least a week prior to my premium due date to remind me that it's coming due seem to have a issue with contacting a client once they have filed a claim that requires urgent attention. I will definitely do a better job of researching the next insurance company that I sign with once my policy with Allstate expires.

The WORST. They deserve negative zero stars for a rating. Our house sustained damage to the roof during a hail storm which was documented by one of the first people that they sent out complete with photos to substantiate our claim. Our roof was leaking water into our house and we had to watch the weather to know when to cover up our furniture and belongings because of this. It was awful. Allstate sent out yet another person to review the condition of our roof and that one directly contradicted the report of the first man and said that he did not see any hail damage at all. They then went on to contradict themselves by saying that they would give us roughly $1500 towards getting our rain damaged ceiling painted (won’t even cover that work fyi).
We believed that Allstate would have our backs and signed on with them in good faith. That is a mistake that we will always regret. They rejected our legitimate claim and we ended up having to pay approximately fifteen thousand dollars to replace our roof. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE. Stay away. They are horrible and our experience echoes many other complaints that I have read about them. They are notorious for this kind of thing and even have/had a class action lawsuit/s filed against them. Wish we had researched them better beforehand. Not having done so was an incredibly costly mistake for us. This company should be ashamed.

I have been living at my house for over 25 years. A majority of that time, Allstate has been my homeowners insurance. Recently, there was some terrible weather that caused a leak in my bedroom, right under the roof of the house. The damage was blatantly obvious. However, they sent their "contractor" to do an inspection and assess the damage. The guy that came out took pictures of areas that seemingly looked ok and even went on the roof and reported that "the roof looks good". That couldn't be farther from the truth though as a second opinion revealed extensive damages.
Allstate refused to HONOR WHAT I PAY INSURANCE FOR, and told me the damages were less than my deductible ($1000). EVERYONE who looked at the damages told me otherwise. Even after having the roof/damages assessed by others, Allstate continued to deny the claim. Now, I have to pay for everything out off pocket. They are very prompt though to make sure your monthly payments are made. DO NOT TRUST ALLSTATE BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT IN GOOD HANDS! Once, everything is finalized, I will be looking for ANY other company that is more willing to assist with WHAT YOU ACTUALLY PAY FOR. In addition to that, I will make it a point to inform anyone/everyone I know, that it is in their best interests to find a more reliable insurance company! TO ALL, PLEASE DO NOT TRUST ALLSTATE WITH INSURING ANYTHING YOU OWN!!!

Attention Allstate customers, Please make sure you review your homeowners insurance policy. On April 2, 2025 in Indianapolis, Indiana. We had severe storms throughout the city As well as even some confirmed tornadoes that had touchdown in certain areas. But my house in particular was hit by severe wind damage. As a result of the wind damage, it knocked my gutter loose from my house, Which caused the water draining from my roof to fall directly into the window well of my basement, And from there, my window well Captured all the water that it could before ultimately causing my window to break open and gallons of water poured into my home!
I called Allstate immediately to start a claim so that they could get a water restoration Team out as soon as possible. It took two hours before anybody showed up, but they did and they got all the water cleaned up. It took another two days before I got a call to set up for someone to come out and assess the damages. I have indoor cameras in my house So everything that I am describing was captured on video. I submitted the video footage of the water bursting through my window and sent video footage of everything in my basement that was damaged and Allstate denied my claim!!! Stating that it was “ground water” That entered my home. And that is not covered on most homeowners insurance policies!!
I was completely furious, I have never filed a home owners insurance claim before, And I have been a homeowner for over 17 years! I am currently trying to Dispute this claim and get it overturned! The cherry on top is the claims agent showed no empathy whatsoever! Zero support 0 options! He was very uptight. So please beware of this especially if you have a home that has a fully furnished basement in it!

You are Not in good hands with Allstate! It took months and 5-6 adjusters prior to any work starting. Then, they just patched here, there, and we still have leaks. The staff seems seriously incompetent and the company will do anything to avoid paying to fix it. We had two very large trees that fell in the house, shifted the entire house. Do yourself a favor and find a better insurance company.

Allstate Homeowners Insurance is extremely unfair in their review of claims. They deny claims that any other insurance company would honor. We have had nothing but bad experience with Allstate with homeowner claims. We will never use them again and don’t recommend anyone to use Allstate insurance for their homeowners insurance policies.

If I could rate Allstate with 0 stars I would definitely do so. My mother has been a customer for 57 years and had minimal claims within those 57 years. She recently received outside electrical damage due to a storm that featured high winds, heavy rains, hail and tornadoes. Allstate was fairly prompt in addressing the claim, however they do everything on the cheap. I had obtained an estimate from a reputable electrician but that wasn't good enough. They sent out another electrician, paid according to his estimate, which was less and contained less repairs. Then when I asked if I could contact this electrician they refused to share his information or provide me with a copy of his estimate. They just sent their pitiful settlement to me and left me to hang out dry.
I tried calling my agent and got the same response, they can't access the information it is handled by a company that they contract which is called Strike Check who in turn sends out the electrician who works for a local company independent of them or Allstate. However it's all a big secret - no one within the Allstate organization with divulge who the electrical company was or any contact information for Strike Check. Just paid me a measly sum that's not enough to repair the issue and moved on. Also their adjusters are apparently located in India - you can't understand a word they say. It's so frustrating dealing with them and the local agent is useless. I am definitely shopping around for a new insurance company. So much for being a dedicated customer!!!

After being a customer for decades, I can say that my loyalty has not been rewarded. In fact, whenever I file a claim for a loss, which is rare, Allstate makes things worse by treating me as though I were a criminal, leaving me feeling disrespected, disappointed, and failed as a customer. What's the point in having an insurer who never offers negligible assistance, if any, when I've suffered a loss due a storm, for example? This will be my last coverage period with Allstate. If you do not wish to be bamboozled, nickel and dimed, or hoodwinked (i.e. cheated) especially, adding the insult of to injury by a company that seems to be in business to cheat its customers, then DO NOT GIVE ALLSTATE YOUR BUSINESS. STAY AWAY FROM ALLSTATE.

Review of Allstate Claims Adjuster Rudolph **. I had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience with Allstate claims adjuster Rudolph **. He was scheduled to call me at 8:00 a.m. I then received a text saying the call would be moved to 8:30 a.m. because he had a meeting. But instead, he called me at 7:45 a.m., earlier than either agreed time. It felt intentional, as if he hoped I would miss the call so he could say he tried.
During the call, I explained that I understand Allstate is required by Texas law to issue payment for the undisputed portion of a claim within five business days. However, I also made it clear that the law allows for that payment to be held if the policyholder requests it, which I did. Rudolph dismissed this and kept trying to push the payment through via electronic transfer, which I did not appreciate. It felt like he just wanted to rush the claim to closure even though I made it clear that it is still open and disputed.
Allstate is refusing to cover $1,650 in damage to my back fence, even though that damage came from the same storm that caused the approved damages to my home. We already paid out of pocket to fix it. On top of that, they miscounted the number of windows in my house. I have ten, not eight or nine as they claimed, and they are only approving repairs for four. These are obvious and significant errors.
I also received a letter from Allstate requesting additional information. When I asked about it, Rudolph had no idea what it was referring to. Throughout the conversation, he continually talked over me, showed no empathy even though he knows I am ill, and when I raised my voice out of frustration, he hung up on me. I also want to note that if I do not receive a proper response or resolution from Allstate, I will be filing formal complaints with the Texas Department of Insurance and the Better Business Bureau.
This experience has shown me exactly what kind of company Allstate really is. They are more than happy to take your money every month, but when you suffer real damage and need support, they will fight you every step of the way. I will never do business with Allstate again and I do not recommend them to anyone. If you want to be treated fairly and with respect, look elsewhere.

I’m very disappointed with Allstate. I’ve been with them since 2016, in 2018 a pipe broke & they handled it very well. At that time the roof was inspected and it was fine. Fast forward to 2025, I’m a widow now & this is a man’s world, after several storms with winds of 62mph, quite a few shingles ended in the patio. I called Allstate and asked if someone would come and check the roof, very promptly they sent a young man to check it out. He never went to the attic, in the meantime, I called several roofing companies that came out and checked it out and they all agreed. I had a lot of hail damage and repairs to the shingles was not recommended.
The first Allstate caseworker had already closed the claim and didn’t contact me. My insurance agent requested a second opinion. It was scheduled at 10 am on a Friday, By 5:05 the new case worker called and told me that the second one agreed with the first one and that was it. Repair to the roof was lower than my $1600.00 deductible according to the second caseworker. I now have to fork out $11,000.00 to replace my roof. I’m 71 years old and on a fixed income. Ohh, get this. I was told that since I’m getting a new roof, my premiums for homeowners insurance will be lower. No, I will not recommend Allstate to my worst enemy or anybody else. 2 caseworkers, one supervisor, two adjusters & 4 roofing companies later makes me wonder how many more people are in my same position. I already found 2 more in my subdivision. This is their mantra: “age of the roof”.

Hello, my name is Glenn. I have had Allstate Homeowners Insurance for a couple of years. I’ve never had a claim in my life. I am 51 years old. I purchased a brand new house in February 2022 and on November 3 of 2024 I had a pipe burst in my home. The water went into my living room and my garage. I was gone all day so it did a significant amount of damage. It got my TV, my garage door opener and all my electronics that were in my garage like Milwaukee Tools. Allstate hired a third-party company to inspect my tools And tell me, "They are no good. Sit them outside out of your way or inside or under your porch, send them anywhere but do not throw them away. We will come back and get them." I sent them outside. They were no good so I could do my work inside my garage as far as replacing all the sheet rock and insulation. I had a witness. They were standing there with me when they said that.
They sent the third-party company out again and said since my stuff was sitting outside in the rain, they was not going to pay the claim. I have a voicemail from the third-party company they hired that says, "Mr. ** the people that came out did not know what they was doing. Please send me model numbers and serial numbers of everything so I can let Allstate know your stuff is no good." To me that means it needs to be replaced. I paid $576 a month for years. Never had a claim in my life. I am disabled 100%. I lost my vehicle over this because from November 3 until present day I had to pay for all these damages. I only get disability. I witnessed Molly child lose his life while we was working together. The tools helped me with my mental state. I’ve been without them since November 3 of 2024. Allstate Insurance are crooks. They are evil and they disrespect you over the phone. I’ve never been talk to you like that in my life. Thank you.

I had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with the Allstate agency Dana Evans in 3087 Leechburg Rd Lower Burrell, PA 15068, specifically with agent **. In July 2024, I requested a quote only and clearly stated that I would discuss it with my partner before making any decisions. However, without my authorization, a policy was set up in my name. I knew immediately that I had never agreed to this policy because it was not even under the correct name or policy structure that I would have chosen. Yet, in October 2024, I received a billing request for $450, which made no sense. When I emailed the agency stating that I did not have a policy with them, my emails were ignored. I then contacted the agent directly, and she assured me she would call back—but never did.
By March 2025, after months of no response or resolution, I escalated my complaint to Allstate headquarters and provided proof that my property was already insured elsewhere. Despite this, Allstate still sided with the local agent, completely disregarding the fact that the policy was set up without my authorization and contained incorrect information. This experience has proven to me that Allstate enables fraudulent practices by allowing policies to be bound without a signature or proper consent. This is completely unacceptable and deceptive. If you’re considering this agency, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere to avoid being caught in a similar fraudulent situation.

I filed a claim for hail insurance that was denied for 8 months while my neighbors with the same hail storm damage but different insurance companies had new roofs within weeks of filing their claims. None of my neighbors used Allstate. Finally our full roof replacement claim was approved after 8 months of Allstate continuing to deny/ fight the claim and having to pay a 3rd party to represent us with pictures, meeting with two different adjusters, endless phone calls etc.
On top of this, Allstate increased our homeowners premium from $1600 to $3240 - a 100+% increase and when I notified our insurance agent - Chris **, that we would not be renewing our coverage Chris failed to cancel the policy(s) so we ended-up getting bills and automatic draft notices and having to hassle with getting it refunded. I will never recommend Allstate after 35+ years as a homeowner and using various insurance companies over the years - they are the worst. The 3rd party that we used to advocate on our behalf with Allstate on the claim said that in all their experience "Allstate is the worst" about denying claims for months and then finally approving them. Also I do not recommend Chris ** as an agent. I have had nothing but disappointment from dealing with him and his office these past several years.

Despite paying a premium for my homeowners insurance policy, I’ve had nothing but issues with Allstate. I opted for a $1,000 deductible, and I’m paying over $4,000 annually for a 1,500-square-foot home. After a pipe burst in my kitchen, Allstate sent a mitigation company, Next Gen, to handle the situation. While the water damage was manageable—certainly not exceeding $20,000 in repairs—it required some extensive work, including the use of large swamp fans and the removal of drywall, cabinets, and baseboards.
Next Gen claimed they didn’t tear out my cabinets, but my security cameras captured the entire incident. Despite this, Allstate sided with the mitigation company and refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing. When I asked them to cover the costs above my $1,000 deductible, they offered no help, stating I was free to hire my own contractor but would be responsible for anything over the deductible.
A few days ago, I had another problem with my garage door and opener. My home warranty company sent a technician who quoted $3,000 for replacements. When I contacted Allstate to file a claim, they initially promised to send an adjuster and even pressured me for my testimony. I explained it would be better to contact the company my warranty provider had hired, but Allstate insisted on hearing from me directly. They assured me an on-site visit would take place to assess the damage.
The next day, I was told the adjuster’s appointment was canceled and that the claim was denied because there was no coverage for the reported loss. It seems like Allstate is more interested in avoiding paying out claims than providing the service I’ve been paying for. At this point, I’m considering switching to Jake from State Farm as a better alternative.

Allstate says let's bundle. Okay, let's bundle. Then they said no. I had them for years. I wanted to get my homeowner's premium down. I called my agent. He said, "I'll call you back" and he never did. I called customer service, got a girl named D. I asked her how can I get premium down? It was 71 a month. She said, "We can raise your deductible to 2500." I said, "Okay" because I had a hot water heater blow out on top and they told me one thing over the phone, told my agent another thing and put something else in my file and none was the truth. It was NOT an ongoing leak.
They said that to get out of the claim. Denied. They're not going to pay it anyway so let's do 2500 deductible. That brings it down to 59. We changed it. I called customer service for my 59 bill to pay and they transfer me to my agent. He apologizes. He says, "Your payment will not be 59 because you changed it so it's a NEW policy now and a new policy has a rate increase, so it's 63." D never told me that. Well, what about my 59 bill now? He says I can't do it because the bill already went out.
I have to pay the 71 (with 2500 deductible). I said then change it back. He said next month is a new policy and instead of 71, I'll pay 84 a month. I told him what a bunch of crooks. I lower my deductible because I am struggling here and I've been a loyal customer and then they raised the rate on me because I made a change on my policy. A 2500 deductible is better for them. He said I have to pay the 71 now or they'll cancel me. They got their money this time. I told my agent, "I'll be canceling. Find someone else." I think if he had bothered to return my call, he maybe would have told me changing my policy gets a rate increase. I wasn't important. He didn't care. They make commission on us. I used to think so highly of Allstate and after this, I can't believe they're like this. My neighbors told me Allstate is bad.

Now they are saying the storm didn't cause these damages. My neighbors had similar damages. Did the storm just decide to skip my home? I have had them for homeowners since 2007. They have collected payment every month to present. Allstate is AWFUL. I don't deserve this.

I regret ever getting my home insured by Allstate. You begin to negatively suspect their reliability and trustworthiness when they arbitrarily increase your premium and deductibles, and you try to communicate with them but they nonchalantly ignore your messages. At the end when they manage to send a "curt" message to you, it will only be to threaten you that no charge is changing but will rather increase further!
Now here is my present experience with them this September 2024: My roof got damaged by the current on-going storm with torrent of water leak everywhere. Allstate refused to pay ANYTHING stating that most of the damages were already done overtime. I have never made any claim on my house because I have not experienced any issues. This is my first claim. They now tactically claimed that the damage they see as recent is far lower than my deductible of $5,320. Invariably, my claim is denied, I have to replace or repair my roof myself!
Well, reader, I admonished you earnestly: if you have the opportunity of reading this review including several other negative reviews below or above this very one, you better take this as "wisdom" and a call for you to AVOID regretting ever dealing with ALLSTATE. I promise you, it is just a matter of time, Allstate will fail you whenever it is time for them to fulfill their portion of the deal. Your relationship with ALLSTATE will end in premium TEARS! That is reality and the experience from those who have been through it.
As proof, I uploaded portion of the denial letter that Allstate sent to abort my claim. Take note of this clause from their letter as a mere deception: "We will continue to work with you to evaluate the other damages". At the end, Allstate did not cover anything. What they said next is: "the cost to repair this falls far below your deductible, so, Allstate will pay nothing". Well, I think I have shared my own TRUE experience with Allstate with main purpose of warning you not to be the next victim! He who has ears to hear, better hear from people who have been swindled already, otherwise, you may be gearing up to be the next person coming here on this platform to share your bitter experiences - with Allstate!

It affected everyone's roofs, siding, gutters and other personal items on some property's as well. Unfortunately Allstate insurance company claims adjuster Troy ** does not want to cover my siding and gutters. He wants us to fill out a new claim, so that we have to pay an additional $2,500 deductible. On top of the one I have to pay to have the roof redone. He also shorted us on the roof amount by only giving us $9,000 towards getting our roof redone. Unfortunately that is not even enough to cover what the roofing company's prices are to fix it. Every roofing company I talked to wants at least $15,000 and there is some other outside damage as well that may not get replaced.
Just about every other insurance company that supported homeowner's insurance around the Richmond, kentucky area paid at least fifteen to sixteen thousand dollars out to get roofs redone, but not allstate. Please, please don't go with Allstate insurance. Company for your homeowner insurance needs, you're will be very disappointed and upset if you have a home owner claim. Worst insurance ever. It’s been almost 4 months since our neighbor's tree fell on my house. Originally we tried to use a contractor from their preferred network but he ghosted us. After not returning a phone call for a month he finally reached out after we told our adjustor that we want to go with someone else whom is also on their preferred list. 65% of my roof is destroyed but they aren’t going to replace the whole thing. So now I have to not only pay my deductible up front but if I want my shingles to match I have to pay for it.
I just want my house to the way it was like. They said they would but my house had matching shingles. Now they offered to pay the contractor directly after we give them the deductible. Again we are now almost four months in now and nothing has been done. I’ve been a customer for almost 10 years with no claims but I will be changing my insurance company after this along with my auto. Worst experience ever and worst insurance company. So for those looking don’t use them.

2 months ago, water came in thru our roof into a laundry room, my husband went up into the roof to find the leak, he found a hole underneath some of the shingles, my husband had mentioned to their inspectors about a soft spot in that area, they said everything was ok, they tell me now that their inspectors do not look under the shingles, "You feel a soft spot and it does not occur to you to check under the shingles for any damages"???? Allstate along with all their employees are worthless, I have learned my lesson the hard way, but I was able to find another insurance that is very much reputable. I had to ask for another adjuster, that's when she finally contacted me. Then after a month of trying to get my claim approved, they finally agreed after they tell me that my policy had been changed because of the age of my roof. Which meant that they paid only 46% of the repairs and I was responsible for the rest.
They took the majority of the claim to cover "my portion" of the repairs, which left me very little to have the roof repaired. Then after I had the roof fully replaced, they would not lower my premium because I didn't have proof the roof had been replaced, after sending them the invoice! What?! Maurice ** provided horrible service when a limb came through our roof and left water damage in the rooms directly below the hole created and several adjacent areas of our home. Initially, Mr. ** enthusiastically recommended that we file a claim directly with Allstate as this clearly would be a covered event. Unfortunately, this is where his support ended! Shortly after this event, he left on an overseas trip and did nothing further to support our claim. This was the “service” provided, after having consistently paid for Allstate homeowner’s insurance for over 30 years, without ever filing a claim. The frustration of dealing with an Allstate agent that clearly did not value customer service, added to the stress of dealing with the damage to our home.
Additionally, dealing with the claims department at Allstate was a total nightmare. To their limited credit, Allstate did quickly send a repair company to put a temporary patch on the hole in our roof and an adjustor to assess the damages within a few days. That is where any semblance of being in “good hands” ended. The adjustor in Allstate’s corporate office who reviewed photos provided by the on-site adjustor, deemed that most of the damage was due to a pre-existing condition and refused to cover that damage, which was the bulk of the issue. Rather, Allstate offered to pay for the roof repair (at a rate that did not match any estimates we received) and a few small spots on an adjacent ceiling (again at a rate that did not match any estimates we received). In the end, they proposed a settlement on our claim that paid $70 over our $1000 deductible.
Being naïve in the way insurance companies operate, I expected that Allstate would review their proposal and make a more reasonable settlement. Much to my dismay, Allstate refused to consider the proposal made by a restoration company that they recommended and work with frequently. Additionally, a review by the Virginia Insurance Commission that strongly suggested Allstate review its settlement offered was totally rejected. Essentially, Allstate refused to consider any evidence that was contrary to their assessment.
After, experiencing significant stress and frustration trying to utilize our insurance, we decided to move on and pay for repairs out of pocket. Having done that, we are pleased that after 3 months of turmoil, we are able to enjoy our home once again. And of course, we are now with a new insurance agent and different insurance company. It would be my very strong recommendation that you do not use Maurice ** as your insurance agent and stay away from Allstate as your insurance company! I do not have experience with Mr. **'s work as a financial advisor, but if it is anything like his work as an insurance agent, I would steer clear!

While fighting in court, the mold has spread throughout the house. Allstate has won, without me being present in court due to extreme chest pains, and a mental breakdown. Allstate is requesting Taxes, fees, and cost, with the threat of placing a lien on my house. My home flooded. I called Allstate. I've had to do all of the work. My adjustor never really communicated. It was my first time experiencing a loss through a flood. My original adjustor told me the day of that he was retiring right before 6pm. He didn't document well at all about my claim. The young new adjustors that were placed on the claim were terrible to say the least. I was told that he had 40 other claims and that he didn't know when he would get to mine. His supervisor began calling after I had to constantly inquire about the status. I was spoken to as if I caused the flood and they constantly questioned everything that my contractor did although he undercharged me.
The mitigation company also did a terrible job because they were only interested in putting fans throughout my home trying to dry the sheet rock and cabinets. After the mitigation guy left and contractors began working, they found mold and mildew. Allstate's adjustor said that he needed proof that the mold and mildew were part of the claim! I was wading in water in my home and because the mitigation team didn't catch everything they are refusing to pay! On top of that, I never got reimbursed for my meals and they closed my claim! Run for the hills because everyone that I have spoken to in my area has had the worst experiences with Allstate. Now I'm forced to find legal help! They did not care not either took the time to evaluate or consider it, even though I have been AN ALLSTATE LOYAL CUSTOMER FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS. I could have given 5 stars to Allstate if not because of these three reasons: First, premiums keep going up. Second, it takes time to get approved on your claim. I have to refile a claim before they approved it. 3rd, the damages on my first filing were not included in the payments that I received because they're saying that it was approved on the first one. It's just that it did not meet the deductible. Tricky! But the good thing about them is they are all nice people. Especially the group of people who were assigned to my case on the second time filing. They made sure to do a good job of reviewing my complaint. Shout out to Mr. John ** who took care of everything!

Rated 1 out of 5 stars In Good Hands with Allstate: NOT!!! We had Allstate coverage for our home, vacation home and autos. Premiums are high and go up substantially every year without any claims or violations. Then we had a rock hit our car windshield and had to pay completely out of pocket. Not covered. Next a hailstorm ravaged our neighborhood and all of our neighbors got new roofs. The roofer said "If you had any company but Allstate, you would get a roof. They are more interested in protecting their shareholders than their policyholders." So we cancelled all our policies and were hit with a surcharge on the auto policy which we had already paid in full. 3 strikes and you are out, Allstate. Agents are lovely as long as they are soliciting/collecting your money, but if you should ever need to file a claim, you will be sorely disappointed.

I have had a very negative experience dealing with Allstate from their customer service, communication, and the fact that they denied a claim based off a standard that was impossible for me to satisfy. They literally had me send them a weather report to prove that there was a natural disaster. They never sent an inspector yet denied my claim based off an employee's conjecture about the state of the building that I live in. I'm not sure how some random guy was able to tell me about the state of caulking around my window and the building façade over the phone without making any effort to visit or inspect. Their employees are clearly trained to find any made-up loophole and make broad assumptions about the cause of damage without actually doing any work to make an inspection. Very disappointing experience, they essentially cover NOTHING because they will make assumptions that make it possible for them to deny your claim.

My home burned down the last day in July. Leaving my family of 7 displaced. My insurance is trying to withhold the money in my policy to replace possessions. They offered an insulting amount and if I want what’s in my policy I basically have to earn it. So on top of the stress of losing my home and most of our things. I now have to find time to sit at a computer and itemize everything we owned. Which is difficult when both of us work full time and have 3 littles to care for and my elderly mother also lives with us. Long answer but it is my life right now. By the way my insurance is Allstate and it isn’t my local branch handling it. It is 3rd party assessor they hire.
Shame on them for making an already devastating and stressful time more stressful. Not to mention if you don’t have a computer due to the fire you're out of luck. You can’t use your phone to do the itemization because the spread sheet requires you to use a computer and Microsoft Office. Which I don’t have at the moment. They count on people being too overwhelmed to fight for what their policy says they have. I could go on and on. Took them 5 weeks to tell me they were giving me the insulting amount. I was not not to touch anything so what could have been salvaged was ruined sitting in the open house in soot and water molding conditions. Not to mentions all the animals that made themselves at home. Then the assessor that came took things out and left them in the elements that could’ve been possibly salvaged. Altogether very bad experience. A nightmare on top of a nightmare.

Let me start by saying Allstate is popular but not necessarily good. I filed a claim about hail storm damage to my roof last year. Allstate denied my claim. Allstate claims that the damage was not hail stone damage. And so I left it at that. This year 2022 I put my house in the market and the buyer’s inspection agent also reported hailstone damage to the roof. I refiled my claim again and Allstate once again denied my claim. I uploaded pictures of the hail damage as approve of hail damage and Allstate still denied my claim. They give me no justifiable reason to deny my claim because there was none. This denial was based on greed on the part of Allstate.
My advice for all those thinking about purchasing a home or auto insurance with Allstate is just stay clear away. For me to be able to sell my house, I had to cut my price by $15,000. What is the point of having insurance coverage when you can’t use it when is needed?? In Allstate commercial they say “Allstate you are in safe hands” but I say Allstate you are in dangerous hands.

My roof was damaged and caused water to leak in my bedroom. I began a claim on December 1, 2021. Allstate initially would only pay for like 6 shingles. After months and months of my contractor sending in the details, Allstate denying it and saying they need to send their contractor in which led to their contractor stating it was unrepairable. Allstate then said we have to submit a video. My contractor submitted a video and they said it was too long and wouldn't accept it. Then he submitted a shorter one but they couldn't find it. Again, he submitted it and they said they couldn't find it again.
Finally, I had to email over and over and they finally received it. It was now that 60% of my roof is damaged but because they don't cover "wear and tear" they will only fix 60%. This means that the new shingles will be completely black and the rest of my roof since it is over 16 years is completely faded and grey - it will remain with the old shingles so I will have two different colors throughout my roof. I wanted to possibly sell my house which this is going to be a huge detractor to anyone wanting to buy it. UPDATED 09/05/2022: On April 26, 2022, we had a hail storm at night that damaged the property and a vehicle, the next day the claim was filed with Allstate and this company sent its inspectors to assess the damage on four occasions, and on both occasions, Allstate argued that They would not cover the expenses incurred in the entire argument that there was no evidence of hail damage both on the roof and on one of the windows that was broken by the impact of the hail, all this after four months, so we made the decision to hire an appraiser to pursue an appraisal claim in which Allstate ultimately had to cover all expenses. It is not fair that this company promotes itself by announcing that you are in good hands when the only thing that happens is that you are in the worst hands and have to resort to unexpected expenses and have to continue paying an insurance policy to receive a lousy service from Allstate managers.

The house was built and lived in by a nice couple for the last 20 years, the house is fully ready to move in, turn key. Fast forward 4 months, my company is releasing a new product and it's all hands on deck so we have not moved in yet. We have gone down to the house twice and our cousin is checking up on the property but in the week before Thanksgiving, thieves hit our place. They were likely construction savvy, because they cut out and stole materials like our furnace, water heater, kitchen cabinets and sinks, doors, garage doors, leaving our place gutted. The electrical, plumbing, water tanks, furnace were all cut and needed professionals to reconnect it, they didn't just disconnect these services, they cut it.
We make a claim and I begged the advisor to make this an emergency because our place is now open to the weather. They assured me that they would send assessor and advisor would call me asap and discuss emergency remediation like boarding up the doors and allowance for me to stay in hotel and address these issues locally (I am in a different state). 7 days after opening a claim, advisor leaves 1 vm identifying adjuster, multiple calls and VMs later, 16 days later the adjuster informs me he is no longer the adjuster for the case and the new adjuster would call me asap.
20 days later after even more calls, Nicole ** - my new adjuster calls and tells me in her 10+ years of realtor experience, there is no malicious intent and no theft has occurred and that it looks like it was professionally demo'd. She follows up with they won't be paying for anything and a day later tells me to prepare for EUO (examination under oath) stating they want some clarification on what happened, that it was theft and not someone I hired. We actually hired a company to install cameras and board up the property, actually filming the thieves stealing more stuff..
They delayed all their responses, rarely called back to return my phone calls and/or had lot of days off and passed our claim back and forth different people for weeks. They promised to take care of us in this situation and really in the end - total of 78 days later, stuck us in front of lawyers and then promptly dismissed our claim, stating we didn't occupy the property 30 days prior to the loss. Which I stated to their agent, when we bought the property, 2 months into ownership, and when we started the claim. How many Washington people leave their properties unoccupied for more than 30 days, I hope you don't have Allstate insurance.
BTW our lawyer says this is 100% within their rights to treat a homeowner this way, leave you paying the mortgage for months so you're broke while they delay/stall tactics, hire lawyers and stick it to you. I think Allstate has some illegal practices. We had a tornado hit our property, FEMA was brought in and paid the insurance companies for the people's claims. Allstate made us pay a double deductible claiming they had to break the damage into two parts, wind then lightning. Two very large trees were twisted, split wide open all the way to the ground and hanging over the house. Shingles were ripped off the roof and siding, soffit, etc. were torn from the house and the garage. Allstate paid a fraction, ($500), of what it cost to remove the trees and repair all of the damage. I attempted to contact Allstate but they didn't wish to hear anything we had to say. The woman kept calling me "sweetie", very disrespectful.
Their damage assessor called before he came, I told him NOT to come to the house unless I was home, he chose to come while I was at work and my wife was home alone. We made many attempts to contact him on what he claimed was his cell phone but he never answered and refused to return our calls no matter how many voicemails we left. It took Allstate months to pay the little bit they paid, I kept leaving Allstate voicemails explaining the damaged trees are hanging dangerously over the house and were about to come crashing through the roof, they would have taken out the back half of the house. The only reply I received was, "then we will pay for that damage" even if there is a loss of life. It seems Allstate may have taken the FEMA monies and only disbursed a fraction of what they received to the homeowners.

Most importantly is the actual coverage and when I've had claims, it's been an easy process. In fact, last time I had a roofing incident with trees, they came out immediately without an appointment and were checking everything out, taking photos, and asking if my Family was okay.
They also provide options for repairs and are flexible with vendors/contractors I may want to use. As long as they're insured and we can ensure they're part of their system - they can be utilized. To be clear, I've had a good relationship with Allstate for over 30 years. The people I dealt with for the claim on my deck were what I had become accustomed to with Allstate. They were professional, courteous and competent. Exactly the opposite of what I encountered with the Sunil Jain agency. This has been my worst insurance experience ever. What an embarrassment for Allstate and insurance in general. These are not the kind of people you would want to depend on when you need competency and honesty in an emergency.
Original Review: Sunil Jain Allstate, 15650 Redmond Way, Redmond WA 98052. My father was diagnosed with cancer last fall so I had to leave town on short notice. During the COVID crisis, we were not able to get the treatments and surgery until October of this year. I am back at home, but while I was away, they inspected my property and determined that they would cancel my insurance because there were weeds in my yard and needles on my roof. I was told that there is less than 5 years of life left in my roof.
It is apparent that the inspector did not actually inspect the roof as it is less than 5 years old. I've supplied documents showing that the roof is brand new. This was not sufficient. A recent wind storm broke the top off of a tree nearby. It took out my deck. I filed a claim with Allstate. The inspector came today and looked at the deck and my roof. He told me the roof has 40-60 years of life left in it. His report will be filed with Allstate as well. They have records showing my roof is in good shape, but they still want to cancel me.
This is a predatory insurance practice, and I could wind up being homeless over this irresponsible and predatory behavior. I've provided documents showing it is a new roof with a lifetime warranty, that the old roof was removed, 86 sheets of roof decking, a weather sealing system were installed and lifetime shingles installed on 9/13/2016. The second inspector they sent for my deck claim said the roof was in good shape, and he mentioned that he had been hearing about this happening to others. This sort of predatory behavior is particularly odious during the Corona Crisis. Practices like this that put people out of their homes.

Our homeowners insurance was to reimburse us for damage caused as a direct result of the horrible snow and ice storm we experienced 3 YEARS AGO, and we are still waiting for our lost food (our power was out for literally 2 weeks) and our electrical box reimbursements. The electrical box was severely damaged as 3 huge trees in our yard literally ripped the power lines and electrical box off of the side of our house. Ever since the estimator (extremely nice gentleman) left our house the week of the storm, we have not been helped since.
AllState cut us a check for the visual damage that was assessed from the estimator that day, and we were told whatever else needed to be accounted for could be after that (since we obviously needed a bill from the electrician for the power box replacement). AllState instead CLOSED the claim the very day the estimator left and we have been wasting our lives on the phone and through email ever since. We just want what is owed to us. I spoke to the Allstate roof inspector and multiple roofing company inspectors and they all stated that there is visible serious wind damage to the roof. Their adjusters are very unprofessional as well.
2 separate adjusters were assigned to our claim. First one simply disappeared and I had to call to find out why I did not hear back from her. Both promised to call within a certain time frame. No calls received. I had to call multiple times myself to get an update on the claim status. They found every single reason to deny the coverage of damages. Stated that the roof was too old (the roof is around 20 years old, not 40). Garbage of a company with trashy customer service. After being their customer for 20 years, and paying so much in premiums, they treated us like dirt. PLEASE chose a different company for your needs.

Allstate claim # **. My father has had Allstate insurance for over 30 years. On August 18, 2020 a pipe in the bathroom broke and flooded the house. Allstate sent a company out to start the drying process. I hired a plumber and paid $11,000 to have all the plumbing pipe fixtures replaced and have 2 new toilets installed in the upstairs bathrooms.
A few weeks later when everything was dry Allstate sent a contractor in to rip out all the bathroom fixtures including the new toilets I had installed so they could start the work to replace flooring. They packed out my 87 year old mothers room and threw most of the items into the spare bedroom where there is a spare bed expecting her to crawl over stuff to get in and out of the room. The only functioning bathroom is downstairs so my 87 year old mother has to go up and down 2 flights of stairs numerous times a day just to use the bathroom after she manages to crawl over all the stuff they piled into the only bedroom that is useable. They were supposed to start replacing the carpets and everything months ago and have done nothing. My mother has now fallen multiple times due to the house not being livable in the demolished state it is in.
Today she again fell down the stairs and Lakewood fire department had to come out to help her up. Kudos to the Lakewood Fire Dept for moving a couch downstairs so she can stay where the only functioning bathroom is which the contractors should have done. Shame on Allstate for shuffling their feet and not getting anything done in 5 months. They were quick to pull out the bathrooms, but not start the job. They did a half ** pack out and are now squabbling with the company THEY contracted about removing the rest of the items from the house that need to be packed out before the job can even be started. At this rate I don't think there will be any progress done before my mom dies of a fall or natural causes. Adjustor can't even be bothered to call me back.

Our family has been with Allstate for decades, with multiple properties insured through them. However, they lost all of our business when we filed one single claim -- for water damage inside a wall -- and they found a way to weasel out of giving us any help toward repairs. I knew I was in trouble when we had the contractor in to look at the problem and he said, "This will definitely be covered by homeowners insurance -- unless you have Allstate, they will fight to avoid paying you anything." He was right. The agent even implied that we were negligent homeowners for not discovering the problem -- which was hidden behind a wall -- sooner. Not only that, but an Allstate rep discussed our policy at length, revealing many details of our contract, with someone WITHOUT KNOWING WHO IT WAS OR HOW THEY WERE RELATED TO US. Suffice it to say, your personal information is NOT safe with Allstate.

I purchased home insurance with this company some years ago. I felt the price was high, but I accepted it. Anyway I called them when I realized they had my birthday wrong, and they had me 30 years older than I am. A week later I get a letter saying my insurance is being canceled because I have a pool in my backyard. I argued with them because I don't have a backyard! Come to find out they're talking about the little pink kids' pool on the side of my house! So they canceled me! Then billed me for the month they canceled me!
So years later my friend was working there and wanted me to be their client. I told her about the age discrimination thing and she said she'd be my agent. So I let her try. Now they said I can reapply in one more year because it had to be three years in-between. Then I had to explain it to the owner's daughter whom had a terrible attitude! And she said she seen a picture and I had a lot of garbage on the side of my house. I said, "No that's my neighbor. We've called the city on her several times!"
I can't get out there everyday and pick up after her and her kids! I'm disabled and full of arthritis, myositid, fibromyalgia? DDD, Kyphoshis, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, chronic pain syndrome, ORIF of left ankle and leg, have fractures and many more lol. Insurance companies are out to make money, no matter what company it is. They penalize you if you use it. I think insurance companies are the biggest rip off ever. If they were really for the person insured, you would not get penalized for using something that you are paying for out of your pocket. I really think insurance companies that cover home, auto and medical should be looked into.

Not that it matters to anyone at Allstate, after 20 years, we are leaving as customers. Here are the reasons why:
2. Because of the zipper effect from the initial damage, more shingles fell off and continue to fall off. So much so, an additional 3 tarps had to be placed on the roof. This doesn’t sound like a patch job to me.
3. We had an appointment for an additional tarp (not knowing we needed 3 tarps) to be installed by Sun Glo. Someone from Allstate canceled this appointment without us knowing. It rained again while we waited to have the tarps installed.
4. It has been over 30 days that we have tarps on our roof. Since we had to wait to get the results from the shingle sample I had to mail in.5. We did everything we needed to do to expedite this claim including sending a quote for a complete roof recover for $3,800. As of May 13, we were told management would not approve the additional cost for the complete roof recover.
6. It was told to us and Allstate, that more shingles will fall off and further repairs will be needed in the not too distant future.
So I’m to assume, Allstate wants us to pay our $1000 deductible each and every time the roof needs to be “patched”. So instead of paying month after month, year after year for Allstate’s useless insurance, we will pay out of pocket for the roof recover and give our business to another insurance company.

They sent out a third-party adjuster because they don’t have adjusters in Washington state. They didn’t like what the third-party adjuster that they sent out had to say because he indicated my roof had wind damage in multiple areas. It took over a month while my roof was leaking for them to finally agree to cover my roof which had lifted shingles and shingles that have been blown off from wind storms. My contractor noticed that there were more OSB boards that had damage from the wind which would end up rotting away in time.
We sent multiple pictures of these additional boards with damage. Allstate wanted him to put a new roof over bad OSB boards. We then sent Allstate another invoice including these boards and they are refusing to pay. This to me is unacceptable! My parents had Allstate since the 1960's and of course I have had Allstate for the last 25 years for at least 1 Policy or another. Our home was built in 1997. First I reported it as a leaking hot water heater and was told it was a leaking roof.. We had a family member sick for about 7 months. We were in and out staying away from home days and weeks at a time. At a very busy, stressful time in our lives. Family member passed away and we returned to our normal lives. We noticed a few bulges in the floor in our bedroom and laundry room.
I called my insurance agent to file a claim and was asked, "Are you sure you want to do that." I said yes and she filed the claim after hesitating. I was then contacted by an claims adjuster with Allstate by the name of Andrew ** and they sent Paul Davis out from Russell Ky to clean up the water damage. Upon their (2 people) arrival, they took pictures of everything inside and out and all around my house, not sure what the outside of my house has to do with a water leak. They said that it was the roof leaking that caused all of the damage to the floor. They never got down and inspected the water heater.
Mind you that the hot water heater is located right below the vent pipe for the plumbing that went through the roof. The roof was leaking down on the sheet rock and had feel on top of the water heater. The water heater is located in a 2ft X 2ft section and was covered by sheet rock (in other words you could not see it unless you removed the sheet rock).
Paul Davis employees told me while they were there, "Allstate and Company B NEVER pay on these claims". I asked why would he say that and was told "that I was not the first one with this kind of damage that Allstate had denied." They left a Dehumidifier on site and told me to contact a contractor to fix the leaking roof. I went to Lowes that night and fixed the roof myself for about $20.00.
I was then contacted by the claims adjuster with Allstate by the name of Andrew ** and was told that Allstate was DENYING (That is right-- DENYING my claim just as Paul Davis told me what would happen) my claim based on the fact that they thought that this was an ongoing problem (OF course it was, it had a slow leak, ANYONE WITH A LITTLE COMMON SINCE WOULD KNOW THIS) that I failed to notice and report when it first happened. I Guess that I should have XRAY vision or some OTHER SUPER POWER to be able to know when the water heater started to leak (SLOWLY) in an enclosed area where it would have leaked for probably a month or longer before noticing it. By that time it had already done the damage.
So Paul Davis restorations calls and says that they are picking up their equipment and that Allstate will not pay any further for drying out the area. They come the next week and picks up their equipment. I go and buy my own dehumidifier to finish the job. I seal up the area with plastic and let the dehumidifier run. My wife calls me at work one day after going into that room and tells me that there is water on the floor. After close inspection--the water heater is leaking, what I first told Allstate.
I file another claim stating the original claim number. I get a call from Andrew again, state what I have typed above about the leak. I told him my feelings and that I wanted an actual Allstate adjuster and not another PAUL Davis Restoration to look at it. Was told that an Allstate adjuster would be onsite. They scheduled a guy (Third party contractor to come out and look at it). Went through the whole thing with this guy, a Michael **. So this guy writes basically the same report and pics and submits to Allstate.
I get a call today (3/9/2020) almost 2 weeks later, telling me that Allstate is DENYING my claim again due to the same reason (ONGOING PROBLEM). Stating again that I should have known about the leak sooner and reported it earlier. It is beyond me how you can see behind a enclosed area. And did I mention that I received a call from Paul Davis Restorations wanting to know when I was going to pay for their serves.. I don't think so. I told them that Allstate said they would be paying for that.
So I am out ALL of the Insurance Premiums that I have paid over the years and for what? ABSOLUTELY nothing, makes me wonder if Allstate would pay for any claim that you submit to them. I will be switching to a different Insurance company as soon as possible. I also forgot to mention that the day I filed the 2nd claim, my insurance agent's office called to tell me that my payment was past due, NOT, it was not due for another 3 days.
After questioning them and pointing out that my payment was not late, they realized I was right and Allstate was wrong. She then proceeded to tell me that her screen on my account was flagged saying "CANCEL S". She said that she had never seen that before and would check and call me back in 5 minutes. She did but could not give a reason. I paid my premium over the phone and wrote down the confirmation number for the payment. This was my first and last claim with Allstate. You are "DEFINITELY NOT IN GOOD HANDS WITH ALLSTATE". Can not wait to get RID of Allstate. I would suggest you NEVER-EVER consider Allstate for your insurance needs. They have proven to be dishonest.

They can't be matched. An adjuster came, named Chad ** and stated there were only two shingles missing. We had this problem once before and filed a claim, the second time we didn't file a claim and fixed it on our own because we didn't want to make repeated claims. Now we are making a claim for the same problem and Allstate act like it's nothing.
Our contractor wrote what was wrong and sent it in, now they are asking us to send in pictures. We have gone through 4 people and now waiting to hear from a supervisor on Monday, March 9th. It went from Chad to Maurice to Parker and now Rachel, next will be the supervisor. Instead of making continuous claims for the same problem I would think that our years with the company, we would have no problem replacing the roof shingles.
We were told by the first adjuster, Chad that we need to get with the company that made the shingles. Not such a good remark to make. Mind you that they no longer make them and they are discontinued because they are defective shingles. Our subdivision consist of about 40 houses and other insurance companies are really doing their part. We are refusing to have a patched up roof because these shingles no longer exists. Other companies have been working with homeowners with no problem with replacing entire roof shingles.
We were shocked and angered at Allstate response to us. It's like we have to gather all information they ask for and so far have only offered us damages of $500 or so and we refused to accept it. This is a continous problem. The shingles needs to be removed and Allstate so far has done nothing to help in this matter. So far, we are unhappy with Allstate and wondering why we stayed this long. In September 2019 we filed a claim, our first, with Allstate Insurance over a damaged roof that needed replacing. Shingles were literally falling off into one of the valleys of the pitched roof exposing felt paper and nail heads. Upon the arrival of the first Allstate claims analyst who brought with him a roof walker (one who actually walks the roof, documents damage, takes pictures etc.) and then shares with the Allstate analyst, who never steps foot on the roof, his findings, we were told there was no claim here and the claim was denied.
I then hired a Public adjuster who came out and walked the roof for 2 hours all the while documenting damage, both wind and hail. He was able to set up a second on-site adjustment with a catastrophic analyst who worked for Allstate and again when they showed up brought his roof walker as he and the Public Adjuster walked the roof and documented their findings. Even still Allstate Insurance denied the claim saying it was due to improper roof installation upon construction of the home.
Interesting position to take when you consider that Allstate Insurance approved two other claims just weeks prior to ours sight unseen. Allstate never stepped foot on either of those properties but did have a Skype session, email and phone call sessions with both policy holders. Their analysts were located in Idaho and Colorado while the property loss is located in Atlanta, GA. All of our roofs were installed by the same roofing company and all of them were 12 to 14 years in age. The implications was that we were somehow immune to the wind and hail damage that came through the same neighborhood over the same period of time and were thus unharmed by either. The photographic evidence shows anything but that.
Allstate Insurance runs 2 business models. It depends on what square you're standing on when you submit your claim. We clearly were standing on the wrong square yet they refuse to affirm our claim after over a decade of allegiance to them in premium payments. Their action has diminished the value of our property and will make it impossible to do two things: 1) Sell the home and 2) Change carriers until we replace the roof out of our own pockets. As a matter of interest one of the policy holders whose claim was approved lives 3 doors from us. I encourage everyone to read the McKinsey Documents when it comes to Allstate Insurance. It is they that helped fashion Allstate into a money making machine by re-engineering their business model that it is today. Deny, deny, deny! Even what they know are legitimate claims you will run the risk of being denied but won’t know unless you file a claim.
We will discontinue business with this company as soon as a new roof, at our expense, is put on. They have become part of the problem and the idea that "You're in good hands with Allstate" is nothing but a feckless effort by their marketing geniuses to get you to part with your hard earned money so they can add to their already deep pockets. Steer clear of this company at all costs. All efforts to our agent were as fruitless. Instead of being an advocate for us he turned his back on us and left the heavy lifting to us. Odd considering he gets a portion of the premium payments we make year in and year out for over a decade.

Allstate Home Insurance is worst compare with others. I had wind damage last year. They just found all excuses not paying our claim for the repair. With with help of adjusters, we could not get the claim paid. They gave out small amount which was a joke. At end, we dropped Allstate and switched another insurance. This year, we had storm and we got the claim approved no problem. Drop the Allstate, all they spend is on advertisement.

Biggest mistake was switching from Farmers to Allstate. After having a large amount of my personal belonging taken from my garage my mom told me to file a claim. That is what homeowner insurance is fit so I filed the claim next day. Follow to up with adjuster where I am told it would only to a few days to be handled. Well that was almost a month ago and I’m still waiting. First they were waiting on police report where in the beginning I was just to file it but it they did not need it to pay the claim. Now they couldn’t go any further until they had a copy of the report so I got them that. Now they got to verify something else. This is the worse I have ever been treated or felt like they thought I was lying or something. Who knows if I will ever get paid out on claim.

I am just like the other folks here that have sent in reviews on Allstate Homeowners Insurance. It's the same story - over 20 years with the company and roof damage. Allstate will only do the absolute minimum to satisfy the bottom line of the policy (they have done this twice now). My entire neighborhood's roofs have been replaced after a major damaging hail storm (100+ homes). I was the ONLY one that was told to go buy a pallet of shingles and get someone to effect repairs as the adjuster's "quotes" kept coming in at around $985.00 (I have a $1000.00 deductible).
I don't want to be lengthy or too over-the-top here, but I have great coverage now and am no longer under-insured (Allstate had my combined home and vehicles under-insured by nearly $20,000.00). To give SOME credit - I rarely had any issues with the auto policy or past auto claims. I did not feel like I was "in good hands" with this company - trust goes a long way - please shop around carefully for your own peace of mind. Also watch out for post-damage underwriting practices!

Once I called them they said on the letter in the mail but the policy cancels in 2 weeks so I asked the reason. Canceled over a few damage section of siding. One part of a single missing some minor thing that could be repaired in a day.
They even complained about the construction debris pile I have in the back yet since I renovating the kitchen, but rather than tell me to correct these some issue they drop you out the blue, State farm issues this house for 10 years without this much B.S so IF you don't have a perfect little home they underwriters will shoot you down without a moment care. I was with Allstate for 30 years. I was always in good standing and filed only a few small claims over that time period. We were in need of a roof replacement due to wind and hail damage. Allstate would only approve replacement of the shingles. The shingles were discontinued, making it impossible to get the same shingles. They wanted us to have the contractor cut the available shingles down to size and use them to repair our roof. Since we needed over 45 shingles replaced, that would leave our roof looking like patchwork and inconsistent in the ability to protect our home. It was a poor solution to the problem.
We complained to Allstate about their denial. After another review, they still denied the claim. 30 years in premiums for auto and homeowners and they won’t pay out one $10,000 claim? We paid for our roof many times over with them. Be wary of a company that will gladly take your premiums but not pay out when you need insurance!

All of this was allowed to happen although I specifically had NO 3RD PARTY AUTHORIZATION on my account. They then informed me that the claim was paid knowing it wasnt sent to me. We disputed the findings, had additional adjusters come out as well as other roofing companies. Claim was still denied. We were told by one of the roofers that Allstate had a high denial rate. He recommended an attorney since he felt we truly had hail damage. After being in a lawsuit for exactly one year, we won our lawsuit and are getting a roof. Lawyers said it was cheaper for Allstate to be sued and then pay than it was for them to pay initial claim since so few people will actually go as far as a lawsuit. So disappointed after being customers for so long. Now it's been over almost two years since this process started, and I am feeling pretty bitter that it's taken all of this to get what should have been gotten in the beginning.

Hands me the phone and Allstate ask me, "How old is the window?" I said, "Well, old?" Then asked me how old the roof was. I was canceling because I found another company that matched the same coverage in my Allstate policy but for literally HALF THE PRICE. However, after my overall experience with this company, I will NEVER use Allstate again...even if they offered a better rate down the road... they have lost a customer for life here.
Call around people, I've done my research, and trust me when I say, Allstate prices are one of the highest around; even when it comes to Auto insurance. Oh, and if you do go with Auto insurance from Allstate, MAKE SURE to ask if the policy you are purchasing offers the Accident Forgiveness that they so highly publicize in their commercials! Unbeknownst to me until I had a minor accident (payout to other vehicle involved was $800; $0 for my vehicle as there was no damage) that you have to request a policy that includes Accident Forgiveness! Allstate comes back with hail does not damage a roof and the damage you are seeing is from poor craftsmanship "we are not paying".
Our primary home is in Cheyenne Wyoming (hail capital of the US) and I stated, "You are dead wrong because hail does damage roofs and we did not have one problem with the roof on that house in Georgia since it was built almost 14 years ago." They started telling me I don't know what I am talking about but I have no claim. I have tried escalating this claim, only to learn that they lost my roofers quote and pictures that was previously uploaded to their system. I've been an Allstate customer for almost 30 years. I've had home insurance for 17 or 18. Forgetting bad experiences with Allstate approved car repair, let's just focus on home insurance. We had bad damage from trees during a record breaking storm. I ended up calling out Allstate to help with holes in our roof. They quickly, within a week, sent me a check. I was thankful, but cautious. I then reached out again - to fulfill code requirements for a new roof. I was assured by my agent and and two adjusters that I had the code rider and that they would pay for everything.
I was told I needed to get a permit to access insulation requirements. As soon as I did as was requested, my adjust just happened to go on holiday and so I had a new adjuster. She denied claim the next day. I fought and argued, and got it reopened. Then it was denied again. No one told me. In fact, I was told a conversation I had with my adjuster never happened. I was bullied by my adjuster. He was mean. When I started asking for documents, they quickly had a change of heart (after arguing with me for TWO MONTHS). The day after the check arrived, I got another letter saying they were going to inspect my home. When I mentioned to my agent that it was a waste of time (who resides a home before the gutters go on?), I was told it was the inspection was random. So in all the years I had home insurance, prior to the claim, I never "randomly" got an inspection. But now I do?
I was told by a broker that Allstate had me under-insured for 240k. 240k. Think about that. What if the house burnt down. 240k. Go elsewhere. This company quickly responds but in its own interest. Overpriced but underinsured. Lied to. Manipulated. So not worth it. Like I said, go elsewhere. When you really need to be in good hands, this company will make sure they make you go away with half a leg.

I have been in a ALLSTATE customer for over ten years, since I purchased my first home (the same one I still reside in) in 2008. Since then I have filed two claims: one was handled with mediocre attention and took a long time to settle (over 4 months), and the other was denied. Three months ago I was involved in a domestic disturbance incident, in which a theft occurred. Obviously the police were involved as it was a pretty bad, dramatic domestic disturbance incident (my neighbor initially called the police). Initially, I didn’t realize the depth of the theft, And even had the police return to my home immediately the following day to offer a full account and detailed list of stolen items.
After realizing that enormity of the theft, I was advised to file a homeowners insurance claim. I did so three months ago. I was assigned a “special investigator,” however it took several emails and phone calls from myself to finally get him to speak with me. He conducted an “interview,” In which he laughed at my situation, belittled me, and made me feel completely inferior and victimized all over again. By the time I hung up, I was shaking and crying. I even sent a follow-up email explaining how belittling and disgusting the entire tone of the “interview” was. I received no response.
To make matters worst, I completed a 19-page document that had receipts for every single one of the items that were stolen, including pictures of some of the items and original packaging (there weren’t many items, just expensive electronic equipment that was all together in a computer bag on the counter- the perpetrator literally had to grab one bag as he ran from my home along with my brand new IPhone XS Max cell phone he stole from my hand). The investigator question every single item and pretty much called me a liar and insinuated that I was making up this account- even though there were two police reports to back up what I was saying!
Two weeks after submitting this document, I sent a follow-up email to find out how the investigation was going. I was greeted with a automatic response from his email stating that he was out of town for the week. I reached out to the other person that is labeled as my claim adjuster and she stated that he was out of town and there’s nothing I can do.
However I got an email from him shortly after stating that he was on able to open my 19 page document with all of my proof of ownership including the original receipts etc.! This comes nearly 2 weeks after I spent so much time putting together that document and compiling the list of proof of ownership documents for him! So I sent a screenshot of every single page of the 19 page document and send them to his Allstate Cellphone along with his email. It is now three weeks and I still have yet to hear from him or anybody else from Allstate. I am anticipating bad news (although I have already replaced my cell phone and have provided that $1259 receipt as well). She had states that some internal policy may lead to them only replacing 1 slope of the roof, so she stated to me, that she sent a request to have it reviewed and would contact me back on Tuesday. On Tuesday May 14th I received a call from Allstate advising me that now there is no claims decision and they will be scheduling an Allstate adjuster to re-inspect my home on Thursday the 23rd of May.
I took another day off work, and met with my contractor and Allstate Adjusters. 2 of them... These 2 Adjusters do a quick 30 min look over my property and tell me there is no damage to either roofs, the house roof is just age damage and there's no damage to the detached garage whatsoever. But they did see hail damage to the siding. Even though the previous inspector and virtual adjuster found and agreed there was hail damage. When I asked why the conflicting information from the first adjuster he had no answer and stated the person they sent out was just a photographer... He absolutely was not. I met and spoke with this man, I believe he was more knowledgeable about storm damage than the Allstate adjuster.
They then proceed to tell me that there was not even a hail storm in this area in the last 3 years, the closest one was Schaumburg, (15 miles away) yet proceeded to write a damage estimate and approve payment for hail damage to my siding, and gutters. It was clear to me and my contractor that this adjuster had no idea what he’s talking about and is merely reaching for denial reasons. I have attempted to contact Allstate home office to resolve who have only passed me around customer service reps and managers, who attempted to deflect and tell me my roof is just old... or has moss on it??? So what?
The point is there is covered damage and you are refusing to honor the policy I bought in good faith. I have left voicemails for the Adjusters I've dealt with so far, and haven't heard back yet. The inspecting adjuster even went as far as marking the claim closed, when I made it clear in person that this is not closed and I do not agree, and refused to sign his inspection. There is still no resolution.
I feel completely misled by Allstate, they burned me once on a water damage claim inside my home to the tune of $2600.00, and now this. I guess it's my fault for not switching back to Country after the first bad faith indecent. I did not have this issue when I filed similar claims with country insurance on my previous home. This is absolutely the worst insurance experience I have ever had. They purposely sent another team to my home to disprove their own staff in order to not pay a claim for the sole purpose of not paying a claim.
I bought this policy in good faith, and feel that Allstate does whatever they can to deny/downplay damages and undercut repair estimates. My contractor is currently writing me an estimate for everything roofs and siding, window sills, garage doors and gutters/vents etc where damage was initially noticed and I'm out of pocket for it all. I feel like I’m I little out of my league, and they know it. I am currently seeking legal advice.

We recently had a huge tree fall onto our house. Prior to the Allstate adjuster coming out to our home (which took 2 weeks), we were told by multiple professionals that our came out to our home (roofing, tree removal, and a friend who is a State Farm adjuster) that Allstate would definitely need to pay to have the entire roof replaced. We were also told to do what we need to do to get the tree removed and the roof covered so we did just that. We contacted a contractor who had his guys come out to cover the roof prior to the tree removed, after the tree was removed, got tree guys to come out and get the tree removed, etc. We go through all of that and the adjuster comes out to say that only a back portion of our roof will be paid for to be replaced.
We have structural damage inside and it is even clear from the ground there is significant damage to the entire roof. Also, we have wind and hail damage from the same storm where the tree fell and we had roofers submit over 80 pictures of the damage to warrant a new roof replacement. Allstate is refusing to budge. In addition to this, they are refusing to pay the contractor fee for the tree removal part of the claim because he "didn't use more than three subcontractors" although he did a significant amount of work and AFTER Allstate told us to do what we had to do to get the tree off ASAP and get the roof covered. We will continue to fight this no matter how long it takes. Wish I would have talked to people before selecting an insurance company because every professional I have spoken to after this disaster has said Allstate is known for pulling stunts like this. I will be switching insurance policies ASAP!!!

First off I am not sure Matt Black has anything to do with this issue but I could not find anywhere else to post this. And for the record this is my VERY FIRST review ever...My husband and I have had Allstate homeowners for close to 10 years and have been paying $2,000+ a year for this policy and we have had no issues which in turn means we have not filed ONE claim... A few weeks ago we had an inspector tell us we had hail damage on our roof and it really needed to be replaced. We contacted insurance company, they sent someone out and it was denied.
So we contacted roofing company, they came out and they said the same as the inspector. Opened up another claim and they sent someone else out and denied it again after we had a second roofer come out and agree to meet with the inspector Allstate sent out. Needless to say Allstate will NEVER again have our business and I will be posting this review everywhere I can find and telling anyone I know. This just blows my mind. Unbelievable. Shame on you guys.

By far the worst agency to insure your house with especially if you live in a hail area. You will literally be the only house in the neighborhood that doesn't get a brand new roof. Their adjusters will not get on the roof so they hire a third party group that isn't even licensed in an effort to deny. Now they have this third party group get on the roof and call a desk adjuster 1000 miles away. This adjuster is not on the roof and looks at blurry pictures all to deny. The sad part is that Allstate brings in about 40 billion in revenue and saved 2 billion in 2018 by this method of calling the hail damage into an adjuster 1000 miles away.
Homeowners if you have a hail storm and the damage is justifiable and your initial claim gets denied on the first inspection do not go to reinspection as Allstate will just deny it again. Go directly to appraisal with a public adjuster to beat them. Very sad how they take all this money in but don't pay out anything. Then when you win in appraisal and get your new roof cancel Allstate and go with another insurance agency. Hope this helps homeowners who have been abused and battered by Allstate. Stand up for your rights.

I have homeowners with Allstate with Extended roof coverage. A few months ago we had 25-30mph winds that lifted up entire sections of our roof. Took them 3 weeks to send an inspector, and the kid looked like he was straight out of high school. He spent all of 5 mins looking over the roof and never even looked in the attic to see if it was leaking. (It was).
The Allstate rep called me two weeks later and said that there were only 5 damaged shingles and that the cost was less than my deductible. I told her that I had my own pics of the sections of shingles blowing up and she said that they were designed to do that and would lay back down in the sun. I think she actually believed what she was saying. I again told her that the shingles on the entire length/edge of my house had blown up and were damaged, along with damaged and missing shingles in other places. I went back and forth with her saying that I only had a few that were bad on the whole roof. She talked to me like I was stupid even though it was obvious that she had no idea about the construction of a roof. She also told me that the inspector noted bad decking in places, but that it was not covered because decking is not part of a roof. I don't know what she thinks it is part of then.
It was a fairly long conversation and her story kept changing about what the damage was and what was considered a roof when it came to coverage. She got mad when I said it sounded like Allstate was trying to lie about the damage to get out of covering it. By the end I was so frustrated with her that I was ready to hang up. She then told me that if I disagreed on the damage, that I could have my own contractor come out because "they frequently find more damage than the inspector".
When I pointed out that if the inspector frequently missed damage that often, then Allstate was aware of the issue and it was obvious that Allstate was trying to rip off their customers and failure to pay for the coverage. Again she got mad and said that she was here to help me, and again her story changed as to what was damaged and what was covered. I gave up on getting anything but excuses out of her.
As expected, the roofing contractor I had come out found so many damaged shingles that he said there was no repairing it and the roof would have to be replaced. No bad decking like the inspector noted. He said it was a slight dip over the carport, which was common over carports. Maybe if Allstate hadn't sent a kid or if he had bothered to look in the attic, he would have known that. As soon as I said I had Allstate, he shook his head and said that Allstate did this to every one of their customers he'd dealt with and then did everything they could not to pay. I was warned before I went with them and should have listened. Maybe someone will read this and not make the mistake I did.

Updated on 05/08/2019: Jennifer ** of Allstate Insurance Company, Phone: **, email address, ** as well as David ** from Allstate Insurance Company with Phone: ** and email address claims at claims DOT Allstate DOT com have misused my claims records. Even though I am no longer an Allstate customer (since 2018), I contacted these individuals in 2019. My recent inquiry on an old 2017 case was based on other insurance companies denying me insurance and informing me of a possible fraud on claim number ** dated 2017.
The claim,**, is already on my claims report available on CLUE. Because of DAVID **’s last mail and email communication on case **, that continued for several months, contained language with no resolution, I thought my previous claim was denied and that was the reason for other companies denying me insurance. I was never informed of the resolution by Allstate and yet when I inquired about it, JENNIFER ** and DAVID ** of Allstate Property created or helped creating a repeated claims record that LexisNexis Personal Reports informed me in 2017 with following details: Date Created: 2019, Date Last Updated: 2019, Status: Solved, Escalation Due No Value.
JENNIFER sent me an email with language, that my not being able to secure any other insurance is none of hers or Allstate's concern. To demonstrate the same, these individuals chose to create or help create a fraudulent claim record on my Social Security in 2019, even though I am no longer a customer of Allstate and I only inquired about my past claim on my record and expressed my frustration that I was neither informed of the resolution nor I could get other insurance because of their claims record.
For asking information they should have given to me by themselves in the first place and for expressing my frustrations, they chose to personally attack me by tarnishing my claims records by creating another entry. Attached document shows I never made any claim on insurance for them to make this claim on my records. This is misuse of their powers and tarnishing a previous customer's claims report. I have filed a formal complaint with all evidence to consumerfinance.gov.
Original review: I made a valid claim on renter's insurance policy bought from Allstate. Allstate claims representative, Mr. **, yelled at me over phone that the security deposit is never returned to the renter and that I bought the lowest premium renter's insurance from Allstate. He completely discredited the Allstate product on the phone and took no responsibility. He never contacted the landlord or the property manager to get any more information. Now this claim, as a risky claim, is on my credit report forever. I can no longer obtain any renter's insurance or homeowner's insurance.
How can I be a risky applicant if I am sent a proper written document by the property manager at the time of the move-out? The Homeowner Association, landlord and the property manager reported a written incidence of damage and have held $950 from me and this is the amount I paid from my pocket. The fact that Allstate couldn't do its job by saying that a working number of the landlord and the property manager didn't get them connected, has nothing to do with my being risky. It's just gross incompetence of their team.

The next day when I received the documents for e-signature, there was erroneous information in the final documents stating my roof was replaced in 2014 and it was not, an incorrect number of occupants in the home, differences in coverages and added coverages to the auto policy that was not requested.
I cancelled all transactions the same day and did not sign the docs. I questioned the whereabouts of the inaccurate info and the agent kept saying it would not change the price. I'm not concerned about pricing when data is incorrect. I will never use Allstate again due to this. I switched homeowners insurance to Allstate because it was cheaper. The policy was written with a $2500 deductible. I received a phone call from my agent's office that my insurance was being cancelled due to my deductible being too low for having only 1 policy with Allstate. This is unbelievable because I should have been notified of this in the beginning. They would not increase my deductible to $5000, which I was told is the lowest that I could have. This is unfair and will cause a great impact on me. It will cause a drop in my insurance score and my credit score to go down because it will have to be ran again to obtain a new policy. I was also informed that a completely new policy was written with the 5000 deductible and I didn't request it. I'm very upset. I will be calling the insurance commission and possibly obtaining a lawyer. I had to select a rating to post, but it should be 0.

He denied our claim without even sending anyone to evaluate the situation. He didn’t even ask for pictures I had took of the damage. The next day I contacted our local Agent and asked how the protocol would be.
After I explained our frustrating situation our local agent in California contacted the claims department on our behalf. To my surprise we got a call right away from Ms. ** on Saturday 2/9/19. First time speaking with her I felt confident we were in the rights hands. However, after we hung up what she had indicated to me did not happen. I gave her until Monday 2/11/2019 then I reached out only to speak to a voicemail. A day or two later I get a call from an adjuster to schedule an appointment. On February 14th, 2019 the adjuster comes by, takes pictures and informs me that by next week the claims department will receive his report. The week goes by and no call back from Allstate Agent Ms **. I call and had to leave a voicemail.
The next day I called again and to my surprise she answered. After I gave her our claim number and gave her a recap she was unclear on what I was talking about. I informed she never emailed me like she had previously indicated. However, I informed her I had gotten her email address from her voicemail. She indicated to me that she believed she did receive the pictures I had sent her through email however, she couldn’t find them at the moment. The adjuster’s quote was under our deductible amount. So once again our claim was dropped. It seems like homeowner needs to experience a total loss to file a claim!

Allstate Corporation. If I could rate this company less than zero I would. This is a fraudulent, unethical company. December 11th 2018 I called Allstate Corporation's 800, get a quote number and spoke to an agent named Logan. After Logan gave me such a great rate on my home insurance saving about $500 a year on my Home and $70 on my car insurance rates. Allstate Agent entered a lot of fictitious information in the computer and gave me a lowball rate to get me to change my policies to Allstate.
I gave Logan all the information about my home. I told him it is about 2200 sq ft tri-level with 5 steps from the lower- garage level and 7 Steps from the kitchen, living room area to the bedrooms: the lower two levels are brick veneer with stone in the front, upper level is frame. I told him the basement was a daylight basement with a wall of windows 4 ft from the floor on one side. He insisted it was 1400 square feet, two-level home, a split-level according to the public records. I described everything about my property; the size of the property, the fencing, porch, everything. He gave me so many discounts that allowed me to have such a great rate including automatic pay for my checking account which was an additional $72 discount.
Logan explained If I paid with the credit card or a check that discount would be removed. So I gave him my checking account number with instructions not to take the money out until December 28th since my policy was not due until the 29th. Lo and behold he took over $2,200 out of my checking account on the 12th of December. He also asked me to fax the Defensive Driving certificate to him. I did and requested him to call me when he received it. I never received that call from Logan. I started receiving messages from Joseph ** Allstate company Hoschton GA 30548 (Winder) threatening to remove the discount if I didn't send in the certificate. That was the first time I realized that I was put with a company 66 miles away from my home in College Park Georgia. I called Logan about it. HE never returned my call. I finally got the secretary who said that the certificate was in the file.
After that it was just one message after another threatening to remove a discount for some reason or trying to get me to sign up for something else. I finally wrote headquarters with a complaint and requested to move my policies to an Allstate 4 miles from my home. Feb 25, 2019, I received the letter from Allstate headquarters stating after the home inspection, I owe an additional $730.34 on my homeowner's policy from December 29th, 2018 to December 29th, 2019. They also increase the square footage to my home to over 2,500 square feet by adding the garage as part of the living space and overestimated the replacement value of my home to almost a half a million dollars from the original correct $304,000 replacement value.
Logan put all the wrong information in the system intentionally to get my business from my original insurance companies. Logan wrote that my home was a one-story 1400 sq ft concrete block home on a slab with no crawl space. Plus, a lot of other fictitious information. The home inspection came back with almost the exact information that I had given Logan. Had Logan put that correct information in the system, my quote may have been $1,651.86 for homeowners insurance and I would not have changed to Allstate.
I tried to call Allstate at the number that's on this statement, 1 800Allstate to have them pull up the conversation tape that I had with Logan and to find out all the things he had put in that original quote to get my business. I also wanted to cancel my policy with them. The 1-800Allstate phone number is not a number you could talk to anyone. It's a recording trying to sell HEALTH ALERT SYSTEMS and other things including roadside assistance. Then it disconnects when you do not want those services. No one comes to the phone to talk. I could not cancel my Allstate policies last night. Be aware of Allstate Insurance. Now I have to try to get my money back. I purchased insurance with Geico for auto and home. I had two insurance companies until I could get my Allstate insurance policy cancelled.

I was struck by a vehicle driven by an Allstate insurance agent on February 13th of this year trying to cross the street. Literally right out in front of the office I was in the crosswalk, the agent was stopped at a stop sign looking at the southbound traffic to her left, and she attempted to pull out into the southbound traffic without looking and hit me with her Toyota Prius, injuring my shoulder. Instead of getting out of her vehicle and seeing how badly she hurt me, her sole concern is to usher me into to office. I saw the Allstate sign and figured it had was probably safe. I couldn't have been more wrong. Instead of asking her co-worker who was in the office to call 911 she ushered him further into the office, they whispered about something and then she turned around and said loudly "Why did you jump on my car?"
I was and still am shocked by this blatant and outright lie. She proceeded to tell this lie to Mesa police officers. So if you're thinking about getting insurance, you might want to go somewhere where the agents don't lie to avoid responsibility. If this type of behavior is what you can expect from an Allstate agent, maybe call Geico or State Farm, because clearly bald-faced lies are acceptable at this office in order to deny responsibility. Isn't that what insurance is all about? This happened around 4 pm on Wednesday February 13th at the intersection of 3rd Street and Dobson. If anybody happened to see anything please call Mesa Police Department and make a report.
Also I've been attempting to contact Allstate corporate offices as you would assume a company with such a good name and reputation would want to investigate this, but as of yet, no one has responded. However if the company itself does ever decide to step up and take action I will be sure to let everyone know. As for now I'm out of work with an injury from this accident. Even though I'm not an investigator, I've got nothing better to do than scour Mesa trying to find somebody who saw this. You would think Allstate would want to do that to weed out dishonest agents and clear their name but as of now it's clearly up to me.

I had a water leak from a failed dishwasher. Forty-eight hours after the claim was filed, the assigned adjuster did not respond to the messages I sent through the Allstate account or the voicemail left on his phone. After the inspection, the adjuster made a report available online. I viewed the report and realized that the claim was denied. I replied online with disagreement. Then I went back to see the report again. But the denial report was removed from my account.
Then Allstate set up another inspection a week and half later. The claim was denied again. The first adjuster denied the claim by arguing that the water leak is not big enough because he did not see water in the kitchen. He claimed that the water leak was a long term seeping. But then I said that the water went down to the garage right below the dishwasher because the gravity.
The second adjuster obviously saw my argument and that I made a valid point. He then changed the focus to the wood below dishwasher and insisted that the water was slow seepage over long period of time because he can see the wood is rotting. He was trying to take a picture using his phone behind the wall while the light shoots from the window. The pictures looked dark and moldy. Imagine you take a picture of person who faces away from the sun. The face is going look really dark. Anyway, two adjusters tried really hard to find evidence to fit to the insurance policy of Allstate: long term water seepage is not covered. So my claim was denied by two adjusters with two different reasons.
Lesson learned from this experience: Don't go with Allstate. They always try to deny your claim based on the policy of long term leaking not covered. Don't use their online account. All the information you submitted or they posted can be removed by their will. You will lose the important information for your later on litigation against Allstate. The photos they took can be modified by computer and look really bad. Take your own photos in case you need to go to court. Communicate with them using paper mail or email. Keep all the information or document for yourself. My claim was denied but Allstate still has not provide me a detail letter with reasons. I cannot file a complaint with State Department of Insurance without the letter. So they are playing a "denial, delay" game with me.

Allstate said they didn't have to cover any of the damage since they were not the first company to see the damage. Allstate came up with a total of $7,654.33 for repairs. This didn't include the roof over the bedroom which had to be replaced.
They claimed the damage was due to lack of maintenance! More than a year later, independent engineer was hired by Allstate and he noted that the damage was caused by the water and snow not lack of care! To date, two years later, we have received less than $10,000 for repairs. We don't have enough money to replace the carpet or furniture. The bedroom remains unusable! Ten years ago, my wife and I were shopping around for a fair insurance company for home-car-flood coverage. We were surprised that Allstate, the 3rd largest insurance company in America, offered such reasonable quotes. We were impressed with the agency that we chose, as we had never met so many friendly, smiling and concerned people in our life. We are currently in our late 50s, and have never made any type of insurance claim, and have never even had so much as a parking ticket. Basically, we live a safe and modest blue-collar life on a very modest budget. We set up our insurance payments electronically, which of course means Allstate gets their money on time year after year.
Fast forward six years. My wife and I are still the safe and cautious people we have always been, still claim free and living a modest life. Our homeowner's policy had increased well over a 100% by this time. My agent explained that was because so many other people are filing claims. Still in the 6th year with Allstate, we had a very bad storm come through our town, and it appeared to damage our roof, as some of the shingles were standing straight up. My wife and I were clueless about insurance claims, so we called our agent to point us in the right direction. Remember, this agent has been smiling and offering birthday wishes and holiday cheers for six years. She immediately started persuading us not to file any claim, that our deductible would be more than what any "roof damage" may cost to repair.
OK, she's the well-trained agent, we should follow her advice. Coincidentally, about a month later, this very grungy young man was pounding on my door, sent from Allstate to do a physical exam of my home and property. About 3 weeks later, our homeowner's policy was canceled because this very scruffy, unprofessional boy reported to Allstate that we were a liability because we needed a roof and a new pool liner. So, we had paid for six years and when the time came that we may actually need them, their well-rehearsed operations go into full effect. This was a six-year profit for them. You have to wonder just how many decent, hardworking clients they do this to, and after reading a few complaints on this page, apparently far too many.
In reality, YOU are the insurance provider and Allstate the customer will find many ways to collect more money from you every year. They are the criminal liars that make the claims and are constantly finding ways to collect money from you, and this is an endless process from them. Anyway, being naive fools, we immediately found another homeowner insurance company to cover us, but we kept our auto and flood insurance with Allstate, mainly because we didn't want the hassle of changing to a new provider. (I work a 12 hour, nightshift job and my wife was going through chemo.)
Needless to say, that was a HUGE mistake. Please refer to the Auto insurance complaints page to read about the horrors Allstate has inflicted upon us...and we are still absolutely blemish-free with our driving record. I pray to God that one day the right person will read these complaints and do something about Allstate. These people are absolutely committing criminal acts and are getting away with it.

I them since the tree had been there since we bought the house, and they had pictures of the property, why was this now, 15 years later, seen as an unacceptable liability. The agent told me he didn't know and that he thought it was absurd; he would appeal the decision. He appealed the decision and told me Allstate denied the appeal, and unless I removed the tree they would not insure my home.
I again asked why, if they insured my home for 15 years with the tree, why would they now, not insure the home. No one could answer me, and it felt as if the decision was arbitrary, and without explanation. I contacted GEICO who readily insured my home and discovered the Allstate had been charging me almost 3 times the insurance rate, for 15 years. GEICO provided better insurance coverage for a 1/3rd of the cost. I am writing a letter to the insurance regulators in my State about the issue and to inform them of Allstate's practices. Caveat emptor!
