I was a client of Allstate home and auto for 13+ years but this home claim made me leave. First, after I filed my claim a week passed without hearing from anyone so I called the 800 number where they said I wasn't covered (not true), called my local rep and they said that wasn't true and couldn't believe I hadn't heard from anyone. 10 days and the adjuster finally called to set an appointment. This entire 10 day period that was more rain than normal so the damage inside my home was getting worse, but I was told by the 800 number and my local rep there was a catastrophe team working the area and dealing with calls as they were of priority.

So basically I'm not a priority to Allstate. Thanks. The adjuster made a rude joke about in-laws in front of my husband and GC, which made us all cringe. He told me no hail damage and my roof had blisters that are like pimples. 4 GCs were on my roof and confirmed hail damage, the GC I chose is also an adjuster - he was flabbergasted by the report so we submitted a rebuttal. 10 mins after getting the email Allstate said they considered the claim closed and wouldn't be able to assist me. We have now found more damage from the roof and where water was coming in that wasn't immediately clear. Allstate is NOT where you're in good hands - they are THE WORST. Over 13 years with them and I left immediately.

We have been covered with Allstate Homeowners for over 35 years. We have experienced that Allstate will not cover our roof even though we have had several leaks and storms with high winds and hail. We appealed twice and lost. Our neighbors with newer homes all received new roofs through insurance after the storms. Allstate just last month did not renew our policy due to stating we needed a new roof because of the age (14 years) of the roof. They also did not notify us in writing as we received no letter or email.

Upon contacting Allstate by phone they had no letter they could send me with our address, they sent me the letter they mailed to our agent. This placed us at a terrible disadvantage in obtaining new insurance. We now have to obtain a loan and replace our roof to obtain adequate replacement cost insurance instead of actual cost value minus depreciation. In researching this issue, we have found that it is a widespread issue with Allstate with many consumers having this same complaint. They will only cover repairs not replacement. We are now warning people not purchase Allstate Homeowners insurance.

I have been with Allstate for almost three years now... I have never needed or called them until two months ago when my apartment was broke into... Allstate basically told me that there is no way that I could afford what I have... I even explain to Allstate how things were purchased. Now mind I that my husband and I both have good jobs. It has been over two months and no one has contacted me. I told the company that I was going to switch to a new company and the supervisor told me to go ahead and that he doesn’t care. The person doing the investigation stated that I was lying as well. I am so disappointed in Allstate and I would not recommend them to anyone.

Originally we went with Allstate for the price and coverage. We have home and auto bundled. There was a discount added for doing so. We have also been with Allstate for over 16 years. I like the relationship we have with our agent. I feel like we get personal attention. But I wish Allstate was less expensive. While I do enjoy the benefits included with our car insurance portion, there are no such benefits included in the homeowner's policy. But other than that, the office is very friendly and familiar with our needs and wants. Also I like the automatic payments.

Last year Allstate agent Virginia ** in Ocena Springs MS wrote me a basic homeowner's policy for my primary residence. I had to purchase wind coverage separately because my home is on the Mississippi Gulf coast. When I tried to get Allstate to insure my rental home, her son (who was the writing agent), said that Allstate wasn't insuring rental property. And placed my coverage with a policy from Burns and Wilcox. I gave the agency a check for almost $800.00. The policy was issued. A short time later Burns and Wilcox said they made a mistake in the size of my property and said that a larger premium was needed. I sent them 2 more payments of $200.00. So now they had nearly $1200.00 of my money. Then for no reason they chose to cancel the coverage, pocketing earned premium.

I called the agency for help in getting my refund and found that Ms **'s son has left the business and very quietly she has sold the agency to David **. The receptionist in the office says that Burns and Wilcox won't send them my refund until other policyholders from this agency, pay they premiums. This makes absolutely no sense. It's my money the agency collected. I getting the complete runaround. This has been going on for 90 days.

I chose Allstate because they offer a wide range of products and easy to take care of all my needs online and offline. I have been with them for years. They need to give some discounts or rebates for loyal customers. They also need to have more information online where I can get better quotes. Other than that, they have good customer service, easy to make a claim and good rates.

I liked that they repaired any damage to my property and did the claim process very fast. I have been with them for over 30 years and I'm very happy and satisfied with them and have no plans to change my policy with them. I liked that they provide good service and handle any and all claims quickly and to my satisfaction.

Allstate been awesome on car insurance but heaven forbid if anything happens to your house. I have wind damage from all the recent storms and was approved for 49 shingles to be replaced and ridge vents. They won't replace the sheetrock that was soaked, but allows it to be retaped and painted. How about allow for it to be tore out to see how much water damage is in the wall. And who wants to keep wet sheetrock and rick mold instead of replacing? I thought with Allstate you were in good hands? I love my agent but the company is greedy as heck and has left a bad taste in my mouth as I'm prolly going to foot most of this myself. It's bad when I have to pay for sheetrock for my family's safety over a repair for soaked sheetrock. Would not even send another adjuster for a second opinion. Disappointed!!!

They are very prompt and easy to deal with and are so easy to converse with. They understand my needs at crucial times. They want to upgrade the policy at least bi-yearly which I don't like because if I want any upgrades I will notify them. They also want me to change any other insurance I have with them. Other than that, their rate is much better in my region of the country which is South so I feel I get more bang for the buck. My agent is also a personal friend. The location and access of their office is very much in my location.

This is a scam of a company. They undercut other insurance companies via “independent contractors “ or local office car salesmen/scam artists by giving you discounts that you may not qualify for then after you sign they come after you for those discounts if the adjuster corporate sends disagrees. Then when you fight it they claim they have no power over their independent contractors and can’t stand by what you were told by an independent contractor. Stay away from Allstate, they get one of the lowest ratings on Consumer Reports for a reason. They literally use gangster techniques to scam their customers and don’t care about customer satisfaction. 15 years of dealing with properties and homeowners insurance I’ve never been treated so unfairly. They’ve lost my business for life over $419.

I have been with Allstate for the past 17 years. I have used it for all of my insurance needs. I have one agent that I work with and he is always available when I need him and when there is a problem he always first ask is everyone okay. Too me that is very important because it shows he is not just in it for the money. Insurance is a very personal preference and we have found Allstate to be very friendly and effective.

I like my personal agent but when use different areas of Allstate they sometimes send out contract employees to do some of the work and those people are pushy and can be very annoying. That I do not like. For instance we got life insurance and the lady kept calling my husband over and over to set up an appointment and would not take no for answer when we already stated I would not qualify for the insurance she wanted us to obtain because of my health. She just did not believe it. And when she came out she saw that we were correct and never once apologized but gave the impression that we inconvenienced her. I called our agent the next day and explained the situation and he apologized for it and stated he would let the company know.

I chose Allstate because it gave us the best rate and we could bundle all of our other insurances into one policy which saved us even more. It was also the only one that we could use because of a new policy under mold that Allstate was not requiring on new homes. We had just purchased a new home and Allstate was the only one willing to help us. And we were closing in one day and we could not close without proper insurance. And our agent said, "Not problem. Email me the information." And they had all the paperwork completed in a few hours and were able to close on our home as promised.

I am current Allstate customer. I have homeowner and auto policy with them. We had a hailstorm at my city. My neighbors filed claims for their roof being damaged. Their roof got replaced. I called roofer to check the damage and the roofer said roof needs to be replaced. Inspector from Allstate came and checked the roof. He reported that the damage is not really bad. But, you got to fix it by your own money as it is below deductible. If you don't, Allstate will not pay for the damage you have next time. I am surprised that everybody in my community had damage and had to replace the roof. I guess my roof was made of iron shingles. They didn't get damages (as per Allstate inspector). Worst people. They are being polite while selling the product but don't help when it comes to help with claim.

My on suite master bedroom shower sprung a small leak between our drywall wall and would only leak when the shower would be in use. So, it is a relatively periodic leak and of course being that it was a pinhole size it took sometime before we discovered the problem, but by the time discovery was made noticeable, it was too late. To add to the disguise, on the other side of the leak is our main bathroom and the bathroom vanity blocked and supported the drywall directly behind the leak and only when the water went through the drywall and began affecting the vanity is when the leak was discovered. I also mainly use the shower in the Master bedroom and my wife uses the main bathroom because it has a sunken tub.

Being a male, I also don't take long showers. So, once we knew our problem we contacted a plumber who crawled into the vanity and through the hole and because it was not leaking (master shower not in use) he had us run the water. We ran the water and again it took some time and only when we pulled on the tab on the downspout to activate shower the plumber found the problem. The fine mist of water is why it took so long for any noticeable damage as stated by the plumber.

I contacted Allstate (my insurance company) as instructed by the plumber and Allstate sent an agent who arrived in a few days. After looking at the damage he related that they would not be covering the damage because the leak have been going on for a period of time. Of course it took some time, Hello? If it happened between the walls and the fine mist only occurs when the master shower is in use and hidden between a vanity and a tiled shower wall in the master bathroom, I believe it will take a long time before any noticeable damage. Needless to say they rejected my claim. I will be conversing with other insurance company after we repair both bathrooms.

I have been with Allstate for 3 years. The first year things were ok, but year 2 the red flag went up. My homeowners insurance went up a little over $300.00. I did have a claim, my sump pump failed and my basement flooded. I had coverage, which was good. I received $5,000.00 but I spent over $10,000.00 to complete the basement. I just received a notice from my mortgage company today, explaining I had a projected escrow shortage. So I looked into why this was, and there on my statement was a recent payout to Allstate for $2009.00 for homeowners insurance. My premium went up over $600.00 for the year. I am no expert in the insurance field, but I think it’s safe to assume I would have received some notice about any increase in premium, especially such a significant one. Not one communication has come to my husband or I about this.

My husband was on the phone with our agent last week to add our 4th car to our auto plan, not one word about a policy change or increase was mentioned during this call. My husband also asked about discounts because we have so many policies, and was told there is nothing they could do. He then asked the question about our snowmobile policies, do we need summer coverage since they are stored? This question was answered with a question, don’t you need to have year round coverage? At this point he was annoyed and said to leave the coverage for now. How do we trust a company that advertises you are in good hands with Allstate, when we are being taken advantage of. The time investment I now have to spend shopping for new insurance coverage; trying to get my accounts refunded and writing this review for other consumers will never come back to me.

This is an inconvenience to my family, but I hope I can help another person from this same circumstance. The worst part for me is, I have done my part as a consumer and paid every single bill on time, it’s auto drafted from my account, only to be taken advantage of. I have been a loyal customer during my time with this company. When I asked about my first increase I was told that due to recent weather events across the country all customers can expect an increase and that all companies are doing this. I thought at the time, this makes sense because I had a recent claim, but then I went back in my statements and the increase happened before I filed my claim. I am not in good hands with Allstate. I have been completely taken advantage of. By tomorrow I will have another insurance company, I can only hope to find one that is not this dishonest. My faith and trust is completely lost for Allstate.

I had my first claim with Allstate. It took over a month and still going, had a claim adjuster who per Allstate Transfer dept, never heard from them, no feedback no email nothing, your claim is not important it’s my feedback. Then followed by the worst hotel experience of all lifetime, Had a housekeeping manager who work for the hotel threaten me in front of my family just because I complained about not getting my room cleaned for 3 days. She came to the room to confront me. I had to call the cop to be left alone. The cop was the only person who was apologetic who heard both sides and ask them to leave me alone until check out. Of course it’s on their best interest to flip the story since the housekeeper manager should had been fired for the way she acted.

Being a little hotel the 4 worker are all title managers and of course they will cover for each others. I even believe some of them are relatives. Then here is the most important part. The claim adjuster was so rude he be-little my character. Please in the future it will be helpful to ask your Allstate claim agent to not come up with conclusion, if they don’t know both sides, or have facts of any occurred situation. Please pull the surveillance camera that’s all. Then the final estimate that I was given for repairs was a joke.

The contractor laugh when I showed him the estimate, first it took over one month to hear back from an Allstate agent, the claim was reported 8/17. It’s 9/19 I not yet received anything. The new adjuster said they should finish fast, then my personal item that got wet they said it cannot be priced so there will be no replacement cost for the toys it's insane, please that’s not the standard treatment from Allstate. They advertised great customer service great guidance, My experience is none of the above, My claim.

I decide to check prices. Their online quote was 564 a year. So I called and was ready to switch. Would have been a 800$ savings. They updated the quote by changing me to married from single. Increased dwelling 15k, decreased personal property $50k plus, and decreased additional living expense $54k. And said they run additional reports and it increased the price from $564 a year to $3525. They don't say what reports are but I own the house outright and never have any claims. Only bad thing is my credit. Few credit card ruined my score after letting them go due to an illness. No way bad credit should increase quote 600 percent.

If they are this dishonest in the beginning I can imagine how dishonest they would be if you had a claim if something happen. Some lawyer should file a class action lawsuit on them for false and misleading quotes to get you to be tried to pay 600 percent more. I can see a double in amount, but 600 percent. Come on now. I would suggest anyone who has them to do a check for cheaper insurance. I think you will be surprised. Imagine saving 600 percent with a company that isn't a 1-2 star review rating. Numbers show. Dump them and save. What's in my pocket they say? $2100 savings by not signing with them. Wow. And after you switch from them tell your friends and family how much you save and how much they are overpaying.

Next thing I see, the claim is denied. The adjuster said that we knew there was a water leak and then left the house. Complete fabrication, how she got that from what we told her, I have no idea. She reopened the case but then closed it again, claiming that it was the responsibility of the condo insurance.

When I called to get clarification, she was rude and didn't stop making excuses and berating me for at least 5 minutes. I finally got her to stop talking for a moment and told her that the condo insurance simply needed information. She was snippy and said they have all they need. I know that Allstate is in the business of making money not paying claims but they could at least pretend to care about customers. They don't even have a pretense of caring. I cannot get hold of the claims agent anymore and even the condo insurance agent can't reach her. I've been paying for homeowners insurance for decades and have gotten precisely ZERO value from it. I don't know what exactly was said to him because I was not on that phone call with him, that phone call he placed to the hotel was placed without my knowledge. Upon making several attempts to contact him and his Supervisor for 2 days we received a call back from the supervisor Tuesday August 21 and it was explained to him that he wanted me to verify our whereabouts and I asked his supervisor would calling on a conference call to the Hotel be sufficient to prove my whereabouts, He stated yes that would be suffice.

Upon talking to the investigator on August 22 stating that there was a call to his supervisor and he stated that calling on a conference call to the Hotel would be sufficient to prove my whereabouts he also agreed that that would be sufficient. The call was placed on August 24 on a recorded conference call with him on the line and on the recorded phone call the Supervisor of the Hotel in Los Angeles verified my whereabouts at the time which then verified my whereabouts. I am baffled at the fact that I have been calling him and his Supervisor since Wednesday evening August 29 and have not gotten a callback.

As of today September 4, 2018 my claim has not yet been approved when the Supervisor as well as himself stated that the conference call would be suffice if the hotel verified my stay which they did. After my whereabouts were verified he moved on now to something else. He asked about the flight and I am baffled to the fact of him the investigator asking how I got to the Hotel in LA which has no bearings on my claim on how I got there as long as my whereabouts were verified which the Hotel has already verified to him my whereabouts. I asked that my claim be approved based on the information provided by the hotel supervisor verifying my whereabouts.

I am not getting any returned phone calls from either of them and I have called for the past 2 days and so has my agent whom I informed about this situation and said that I would be cancelling my insurance due to me feeling targeted against and treated very harsh and the unprofessionalism that I am experiencing with Allstate, My Agent stated that he would try and call the person and his supervisor to try and rectify the matter before I cancel. My wife and I had the unfortunate incident of having a sewer line in our condo break in the wall behind our kitchen sink. Our kitchen was flooded with sewage all the way into our living room. Water is one of the most damaging things that can happen in your house and when it is sewage, it is so much worse. We tried our best to soak up the sewage, but we had a laminate floor and liquid came up between the seams on every step. We needed help!

I called the Allstate claim line and one of the first questions asked was if we needed help and I said yes. They said that help was on the way and we'd have a call from an emergency water cleanup team within 2 hours. We were way in over our heads and this was such a relief to our ears. 2 hours later we got a call, but not the one we were expecting. Allstate called back and said that no one was coming. I asked why and they said until responsibility for the damage was established, they wouldn't be sending anyone.

I needed to upload the HOA's covenants and insurance policy and they would be assessed on Monday. This was Saturday and my kitchen is covered in sewage. Every minute that went by was causing more damage as the sewage soaked into the subfloor, walls, and swelled the laminate & cabinets. I had no choice but to rip up the flooring and do my best to get the sewage sucked up. This was horrible and nasty work that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Monday comes and nothing. No call from Allstate, no e-mail, no update in the online claim center. Midday I call my local agent and ask for help. I'm asking what to do, what to document, when an adjuster will be out. They're more or less helpless as it is being handled by a claims team in Kansas City. Tuesday morning comes and I finally get a call from a water recovery company that says they'll be coming out near the end of the day. I and my wife continue to strip the soaked kitchen and take pictures along the way showing everything. By the time they arrive with a crew everything is out of the kitchen down to the subfloor. They look around, snap a few pictures, and test for how wet things are. Yup, they're wet and all they can offer at this point is to leave a dehumidifier with the warning that Allstate has authorized no payment to them, so the bill is mine.

I call and leave messages for the claims team, but no response until Thursday morning. Claim denied. What? No adjuster has been there, I have provided no pictures to Allstate and nothing more beyond the initial claim. I protested, how could they come to this conclusion with no inspection. The person on the phone stated that they looked at the pictures from the water recovery company and determined it was not a covered claim. The rationale was that there was some mold behind the cabinets, so the water damage was an ongoing condition and the flooring was already damaged before the flood. I argued that there was no mold on the laminate, under-layment, floor, or subfloor and I had the pictures to prove it. She wouldn't accept the pictures and said that an adjuster would have to come out to inspect. Great! Send them out. Ok, they'll be there in a week.

Can you imagine what it would be like to live with a kitchen soaked in sewage for nearly 2 weeks? I begged them to come out sooner, but she refused. I told them that I couldn't be without a kitchen for that long and had to continue to work on the kitchen as we had to have a place to live. They said there was nothing they would do and the schedule is the schedule. I agreed to the appointment, but told them that all there would be left to look at then would be pictures. She then summarily closed the claim.

I escalated to her supervisor and he was no help. He said the claim was already closed and would not be reopened because I refused to allow an inspection. I told him that was a lie and I would meet the adjuster, but there would only be pictures to review by that time. He said that was the same as refusing. I asked if this had happened to his own home, would he leave sewage soaking for 2 weeks while waiting for an adjuster to show up? He said no, but that was what he was asking me to do.

My local agent assessed my pictures and agreed that the mold and the water damage were two different incidents. He escalated and tried to have the claim reopened, but after a full month, the response was if the damage couldn't be inspected, the claim would remain closed. I'm not as upset about the claim denial as I am the lack of service that I thought I was paying for. I always justified paying the higher premiums for Allstate because if something big happened, they'd be there to help. The only thing the "good hands" at Allstate are for is collecting your premiums. Prior to this incident I had been an Allstate Homeowner customer for 25 years and had never had a single claim. This is how Allstate treats their long-term customers, look for other reviews with similar stories. I won't be a customer for much longer.

August 7th, 2018. AllState * My mother has been a faithful customer to your company for the past 39 years. She has not missed a payment, been late on a payment, nor ever filed a claim. Considering these facts alone, she as well as I expected to be met with excellent customer service, we expected to have an experience completely different from the one we had on August 1st, 2018, when your company sent a inspector to come to our home in response to the call I made on July 30th, 2018, when inquiring for your company's assistance with this nightmare that has fallen upon us.

I received a frantic call from my mother who had been watering her plants in the backyard for 30 minutes or so, when she entered the house again and within a few steps found the kitchen floor wet and looked up towards the bathroom where the water was coming from. Sewage water reaching what looked like to be the edge of every room! She ran back out of the house and called me, upon which I had to leave work. I arrived to a disaster. I too was only able to walk in but a few steps from the doorway to find sewage water everywhere and immediately turned off the water and started to research plumbing companies on Craigslist, as it was obvious the toilet was overflowing and toilets are a plumbers job! I thought I handled the situation the best I knew how to.

I made sure the company I found was licensed, insured, had good reviews and was family owned. They arrived to the house and after investigating everything stated that this was an issue that their joint restoration company would handle. They too arrived and immediately started extracting the water, taking pictures and demoing. They also moved our furniture and such into a pod in our driveway so as to minimize the damage to our personal belongings as the water was wicking everywhere. It seemed to me that they were doing a great job handling everything beautifully and efficiently!

Upon welcoming the inspector with a smile and a handshake into our home, I was reciprocated with an unprofessional, rude, and cranky man who portrayed an attitude of arrogance and negativity. He showed nothing of your acclaimed motto, that we were ‘in good hands,’ as immediately he began to interrogate me and criticize every aspect of our situation. I was given no reassurance, no compassion, and no empathy for what has happened to the home that has housed our family for the past 39 years. I made it clear to him that this was our first time ever dealing with an issue like this, and for that reason we really didn't know anything about it. Yet he continued to speak to me as if I should have known what he was talking about, accusing me of handling the matter wrong and not asking enough questions.

I respectfully told him we handled this issue the best we knew how considering the circumstances- like how for example my father was murdered 20 years ago on August 2nd, 1995 right in front of my mother, hence there has not been a man of the house- who, in this household, was the person who handled matters such as these and knew the logistics in matters such as these. Not only that, but my brother was then murdered 13 years ago on August 5th, 2005. Two tragedies that my mother and the rest of the family have to deal with for the rest of time, not only through the loss of their lives, but also through the loss of being equipped with the knowledge of what to do in situations such as these.

We have gotten through life without them as we have had to, but it has been anything but easy and usually we end up spending money we don't have for such services. Our experiences can be summed up by mostly having been taken advantage of financially and left with poor quality work. My mother has in the past few years survived breast cancer, as well as a stroke. I being the only one left she can rely on, have exhausted myself in trying to make sure that I'm there for whatever she needs as the pain that this family has been through and continues to carry forever is excruciating enough. I'm scared for my mother's health, and stress only adds to her possibility of another stroke and more health issues. She lives alone, and gets depressed easily- left with her thoughts as her only companion.

It's pathetic how her insurance company, to whom she has been faithful to for decades, specifically, YOUR company that is in place to insure her, YOUR company which, by YOUR classification as her ‘homeowners insurance,’ should represent one of assistance and support to her, as a company supposedly on her side, has made it clear by YOUR employees’ actions that you are not on her side, that you are rather here to interrogate our problem solving ethics, with obvious self serving intentions in not approving our claim in the manner which the inspector did, as quickly as he did, without having even seen any report from the plumbing/general contracting company yet.

I explained I was who was handling the matter for my mother who doesn't speak nor understand English well, and who appoints me to help her with all her needs. We are talking about a woman who has never and still does not drive, who only knows how to use a landline to communicate with people, who uses an iPad just to play games her games on, and who relies on myself for everything else be it appointment setting, medication taking and refilling, reminders to shower when I am present in the house, transportation, grocery shopping, laundry and the upkeep of her home.

I made it clear to the inspector, I was the one with whom he needed to speak, as I was also the one who made the claim- a claim your company gave me a claim number for per my call, during which, not once was I asked to hand the phone to my mother for permission to speak to me, nor was I asked at that point in time for any signed waiver from my mother to allow your company to speak to me. Instead my call was accepted and I was given the claim number on which your inspector was dispatched to our home.

Considering all this, and considering my obvious concern and continuously stated concern for my mother's health, I'm not sure why your inspector proceeded to demand to speak to my mother herself, who I had to do the translating for anyway! I repeated again, that I was keeping my mother from going to the other side of the house where the work was being done, because if she sees the house in the manner that it is, she will become unglued. She did not know the details of what was going on on over there, yet your inspector then not only started interrogating her but told her all the details of the condition of the house in its current state, asking her why certain things were removed, and rudely stating that she is going to have to pay thousands of dollars to fix the problem.

He completely neglected to take my pleads into consideration, and my mother's health into consideration. That is and of itself complete disrespect on his part. It is rare that my mother cries in front of anyone let alone strangers, yet when he got done with her she was in tears! This employee of yours left us in shock, left us feeling confused, abandoned, disrespected and taken advantage of after how loyal we have been to AllState for near 4 decades of payment and we are ready to fight this in the name of justice until justice is served, because not only has your company been unprofessional and unethical in helping our misfortune, but your lack of respect, consideration and customer service skills by not only your inspector but your supervisor is uncalled for! It's just not right.

I contacted AllState again on August 6th, requesting to speak to a supervisor regarding the horrible treatment we had experienced with the inspector. I had to leave 2 messages that day as he was on the field. It wasn't until the next day when I called again in attempts to reach him, that I finally got through to the supervisor. He as well employed the same cold cut manner in which the inspector had. It became obvious that their foul attitude and rude personalities were due to the fact that they did not want to cover the expenses it would take to fix my mother's home.

How dare your employees be so blatant and concerned about nothing more than the finances in this matter! I received a letter in the mail the same day, which stated our claim was denied. I don't believe the way your company is approached this matter nor the way you handled this matter was appropriate nor just on so many levels. It is because of that which I am writing to you now, and will fight this until we are given an apology and some sort of amends for the way we were treated. Honestly we need to see some kind of justice here. Sincerely Not Happy.

I was a customer of Allstate (auto, home and umbrella policy) for over 20 years. About three years ago we adopted a German Shepherd pup. Our pup got out of our gate, bounded up to a neighbor and nipped him. We spoke with the neighbor and he was willing to overlook the nip (I think he paid 47$ for a shot that we agreed to repay). For good measure, we called Allstate to get advice - an adjuster ended up calling our neighbor and ‘settling’ with him for a sum of $500. The adjuster then called us and recommended that we give up the dog. We weren’t willing to do that, and the next thing we experienced was a letter from Allstate dropping our homeowners coverage.

Not only did we feel that the adjuster dealt poorly with our neighbor (he seemed more upset after speaking with the adjuster), but it became clear that our 20 years as a customer didn’t buy us any credit with Allstate. As we spoke with other insurance companies, we described our experience tentatively (we were worried that we weren’t insurable, given Allstate’s reaction to our dog). We found that the opposite was true - we’re happily insured, our German Shepherd has won 3 titles in obedience, and we wouldn’t consider going back to Allstate given our experience with them.

Have had Allstate ins for many years. Recently had a home inspection and received a letter stating no renewal of my policy unless I replaced the roof. No one had the courtesy of a phone call to let me know when this was to take place. Along with the letter was some xerox copies of pictures supposedly of my roof. The quality was so poor you could not make out what they were. The roof has 2-3 more years of use then will need replacing. First, entering a person's property without permission is trespassing and also rude. Second, persons doing these inspections are neither code officers or license contractors so are not qualified to make any judgements or take pictures. Great way to get rid of older homes to make the bean counters happy, bye Allstate!

I relocated and transferred my coverage to Dallas, TX which resulted in a 30% increase upon renewal! I was told because I lost a discount. The discount was given upon logging into the Allstate website and clicking a button! No one bothered to tell me that my discount was in jeopardy or that in order to keep my CURRENT RATE, I needed to click a button for no paper mail which was done! It had been selected for one of my policies however I was supposed to select it for all.

To add insult to injury; I had not received any paper mail from Allstate! I received a bill via EMAIL with the higher rate. When I inquired WHY my rate went up, it took them a while to find it. Once we determined the problem, I was told that there was nothing that could be done until my next renewal! I had to pay the higher premiums. So much for Loyalty. No one from the Corporate office even bothered to call me once they were told of the problem/concern. A customer of 17+ years just ignored. I look forward to ignoring them very soon. Allstate just wants your money. Customer Service is below 1 star.

An insured worst nightmare. The person that takes your money (the agent) is great and very responsive but when it came time to process a claim, they are horrible. We experienced a hit and run when a car had backed into the building. This caused extensive damage. There's a hole in the exterior stucco wall, the floor to ceiling window frame is completely damaged (miraculously, the glass was not broken). On the interior, a support wall was moved 2-3 inches from the foundation and the adjacent bathroom sustained complete damage. The vanity sink was push and moved 6 inches off and water leaked as a result. The ceiling was damage with 2 inches wide cracks.

Allstate sent out their contracted field estimator. He took pictures and measurements but complained that he was not able to see the extent of the foundation damage because the drywalls were not removed. I authorized him to remove whatever he needed but he declined to do so. So he continued to take his measure, gave me his card and said that he will forward the report to Allstate within a couple of days and it will be assigned to the "Major Damage" department. I asked what constitute "major damage" and he states that damage above $75,000.00. Several days passed and I didn't hear back from Allstate. I called, they stated that the estimator need to come back out to assess the extent of the foundation damage but we would need to open up the walls.

By this time, I was advised to get my own contractor for estimates. One of these contractor came out, open some of the dry walls and within three days, gave me an estimate for the repairs. With the walls open, I contacted Allstate and they sent the same estimator out. One week after this second visit, I was presented an estimate from Allstate and they say the check was on the way. I reviewed the estimate and I couldn't believe what I saw of the first page, they couldn't even get the measurements right. The above mentioned floor to ceiling window is 3 ft. x 8 ft., they came back with a 36 in. x 50 in. windows. Two of the doors are 36 in. wide and but they measured it to be 30 in. Their estimate was at 12 % (and the check the issued) of what my contractor estimate. We all know that insurance adjusters are going to low ball but this cannot be legal.

Now, they've hired their own general contractor to take over this claim. They submitted a revised estimate that is more the double the prior offer. Interesting enough, I asked this new general contractor, that in that case, I am going to use you guys to get the do the work. They refused, stating that they were hired just to do the estimate, not the work. So it looks like they are going to estimate how much it should cost someone else to do the work. But for them to do the work, it would be much more. This can not be legal. It is on-going for three plus months and there's no resolution. Will post any updates.

I then called the agent again, and said this is to be cancelled, I have insurance thru a different company, and, since my husband passed, and the account is in his name, needs to be closed. But declared that some was "hard wear-and-tear", not vandalism. Overall, they were pretty fair, fast and helpful covering the claim. The agent, who visited, actually checked my roof (which I have trouble accessing) to see if it was OK (not part of my claim) and cleared out my gutter! That was pretty amazing and he was great. Despite this treatment, their claims are fair and fast. I am thinking of looking for another insurance company to purchase co-op insurance. I had canceled my auto insurance with Allstate because I was being charged more for my policy than other insurance companies. I do not feel appreciated after all these years of using them for insurance. They should give long-term loyal clients discounts. Thanks.

Allstate Agents send out misleading letters stating how much your Homeowner, and/or Auto bill is estimated as a hook to get you to call. We have received 10 such letters all with different amounts. When you call and give them the info all of a sudden the "estimated" amount is no good and actually tripled. When we asked the agents (3 different ones) to give us an address of a home like ours they quoted we were told it did not exist.

Seems like false advertising, and if that is the way they have been directed to conduct their business look for another company that has some ethics, is responsible and will provide accurate information. We have even written to their CEO Tim Wilson but do not expect a reply since their marketing efforts are probably directed from the top. In looking at numerous other comments it would also appear they are really slow to react on claims, unlike the misinformation they promulgate in their commercials. Run, do not walk away from this company.

I filed a claim for catastrophic water damage in Alexandria, VA, with Allstate on 01/12/2018. No visit, no phone call, not even an e-mail from the local Allstate agent! It took fully 10 days for an adjuster to visit our home, and we spent 2 weeks in a hotel waiting for emergency plumbing repairs and for water to be restored to the home so we could at least have full use of one bathroom. Meanwhile, the claim processor and principal Allstate contact, who was located in Alabama, kept bombarding me with a seemingly incessant stream of documentation requests that related to damaged home contents, which were the least of our problems because the home had suffered a collapsed ceiling in the garage and dining room and extensive damage to walls and floors. Thus we were focused on our mere survival and making the home sufficiently habitable so we could move back in. The kitchen and all bathrooms did not become fully usable again until February 5.

The primary Allstate contact seemed to care little about our plight. She ignored or gave irrelevant, unresponsive, pro forma replies to the dozens of questions I submitted and on which our financial planning critically depended. A formal letter of complaint I sent to the Allstate Executive VP/Chief Claims Officer about the insensitive, incompetent, and unresponsive handling of my claim did not receive even the courtesy of an acknowledgment and remains unanswered to date in spite of my repeated reminders and protests. Once Allstate had begun making payments to reimburse me for documented emergency out-of-pocket expenses, I had to battle to receive some token compensation for additional living expenses, all of which served to increase the strain on our already severely-stretched financial resources.

Then, as though to add insult to injury, Allstate claimed it had overpaid us by some $6,700. When I asked for an itemized explanation, it was not provided. At that point, I demanded an audit that I specifically asked address the alleged overpayment, as well as the totally unsatisfactory manner in which our claim was handled. The so-called audit remained silent on these issues; however, it included and transmitted a totally new Allstate estimate which, instead of a $6,700 overpayment showed a balance to be paid by Allstate of $146.00 and included a check for the amount due, but no explanation for the voodoo mathematics Allstate had used to convert an alleged overpayment of thousands of dollars to a balance due! NO, YOU ARE NOT IN GOOD HANDS WITH ALLSTATE!

Switched to Allstate for all policies auto and home! Because they gave us a quote that was considerably lower than the current company that we were using at the time. Within the first two months they raised our premium because of a tree limb that was hanging too close to a corner of the house! Ended up costing us sixty eight dollars more than previous company! Then just at the eleventh month with Allstate. A roofing subcontractor was replacing the roof on our home. After tearing the old materials off they left it uncovered while disputing a problem with the permit to the County building permit inspector. A severe thunderstorm with very high winds and sheets of rain drenched the interior of the house causing catastrophic damage! That was in 2015! We are still fighting to get what the actual cost of repairing the home is!

The adjusters are heartless and deceitful in so many ways! Have gone to DORA hired several inspectors. Cost out of our pocket has exceeded thirty thousand just to keep the property from being condemned! We have consulted with countless law firms. But none want to get involved because it is Allstate and they fear the case would go on for a few years! We are nearly homeless just as we are reaching retirement! I refuse to give up! But my wife cannot take much more. It is killing us! We paid for the abatement, a plumber for removing baseboard radiators, a moving crew to move the contents from the house. Which I have now moved back in for lack of storage space! We are paying each month for a storage container that has our furniture and appliances stored in it! Our utilities are triple their normal cost from keeping the house heated. Because we are camping out in a motorhome in front of the house and we have to use the water!

I am disabled and my wife will be 62 in January and should be retiring! Allstate has squandered our temporary housing portion of the policy They rented a house that gobbled up our limit of coverage within nine months. After ignoring our suggestions for homes much closer and much lower per month to rent! I had found two within two blocks from our home! When I contacted the service that was taking care of that part of the claim. She called back to tell me that the adjuster had changed his mind on long term temporary housing and denied approval on these suggested homes! Two weeks later he had us signing a contract for renting a home that was way out of the way and totally inconvenient for access to my wife's place of employment! We were put up in Staybridge Suites for three months, Moved into the rental in June of 2016. Then told in October that we were only covered to stay in the rental until the middle of December!

So the adjuster offered to write a check to us for the remaining funds for temp. housing and also the deposit that we would be getting back to aid us in setting up a place to stay until the home was finished! We took what little we were left with and the deposit money as well and purchased a motor home to set up on our property, It was not the greatest of motorhomes. But it is a secure dry place to live in temporarily. As the situation keeps getting worse. We were informed in January that the deposited money was in fact not ours to have and we now have to return it! The adjuster told me that the claim would be closed until we pay this money back! It is now almost May 2018 and we are no closer to resolving this claim with Allstate than we were before the damaged even occurred! I have been run through hoops chasing documents that I previously submitted!

Three times from different associates from claims needed the contract between ourselves and the roofing company that was responsible for damaging our home! Allstate declined and refused to go after the contractors' insurer! Which I do not understand! There are so many lies and false information that the adjusters have fed us. It astounds me that some people allow and fall for such stupid statements! I have documented everything including several pictures and videos that I began taking as the water was rushing into our home and drenching the entire interior of our single story ranch house! The third adjuster even admitted that the only way he would release the actual amount needed to repair the home we will have to get an attorney! That I have documented also! Along with several instances where they have been untruthful!

The adjuster's Supervisor lied to DORA to excuse them from answering to the complaint we filed to them. Which I have documented and have physical witnesses to back this up! I am new at this! So researching to find ways to fight back and provide answers and foundation that holds my arguments take an extreme amount of time! But I am not going to allow these adjusters to use my lack of knowledge in the claims procedure and process to their advantage! I certainly didn't figure on them having so many ways to suppress my attempts to get what is owed to us. I probably will not live long enough to see our home as it was. I am unable to work any physical job due to my conditions! Which we cannot afford to pay for any medical plans to help cover treatments.

With our spending everything we had in savings along with my wife's retirement plans which we had to cash in at costly penalties of twenty percent and added taxes for the year. We put back the disputed deposit money so we have it should we need to actually return it! We are totally out of resources for money to continue paying the mortgage along with the added expense of trying to exist with this added costs for utilities, storage container, inspection fees, doing laundry at a Laundromat, eating fast food because we have no real place to prepare a decent meal! When we purchased our home we were told at the closing that there would have to be two mortgages! Something we were not expecting and weren't going complete the purchase! But we went ahead believing we would be able to pay off the second mortgage before the ten tear arm was up. That we did accomplish a year early!

We were now ready to refinance the first mortgage to get out of the variable rate into a lower fixed rate! However this plan was abruptly halted by this incident that has entirely devastated our lives and our relationship! What can be done to stop this corporation from bullying its policyholders out of what is rightfully theirs? Why pay premiums that are really too high! Only to be denied what was promised to be guaranteed to you if so needed!

The first guy we talk to comes back with a quote of 500 more than we were originally quoted and emailed so we asked why. His response was he included discounts that we cannot apply... "Is this what you do? You bait and switch?" And he said, "No but sometimes we do."

I asked to speak to a manager and we were hung up on. We call back, explain everything again, asked to be transferred again to be hung up on again. A lady calls us back and after 3 hours of back and forth. She claims the premium changed in the 48 hours time period and they can't honor the original quote and they quote us 500 more. Each time the Allstate adjuster states we have had only 1-2 shingles blow off yet I have water damage in a bedroom and shingles out in my yard. Two of our neighbors one just across the street and one just two doors down the street have their roof replaced because of this storm!

Both homes are newer than ours. Many other neighbors have had their roofs repaired in the last two years with insurance. He stated to have a handyman go up and replace the shingles on the roof and for us to go in the attic when it rained and caulk the holes! We are filing a complaint with the state insurance commissioner and reaching out to one of the local TV stations who broadcast news on issues such as these. We had a fire in April 2016. We ended up getting swindled into a public adjuster do to his misrepresentation. There was nothing we could do. These public adjusters were in cahoots with the adjusters in the Pa Malvern office. They inflated our estimate so high which didn’t benefit us at all. It only benefitted the adjuster and the restoration company he lied about owning. These public adjuster companies are known to do this and Allstate doesn’t care. We haven’t seen any money from Allstate at all. The public adjusters from Premium Loss did. Signed all the checks and acted as if the homeowner didn't pay the bogus contractor Protect restoration who is not in business any longer. They were a one-man company.

The Allstate estimators came in our home without the homeowner present and did an estimate. They falsified so many things. The age of everything was mostly under 5 yrs. The one adjuster Teresea ** happen to be friends with these public adjusters on social media for several years. Their Adjusters took a $1000 deductible out when it only $500. When they sent a check to reimburse us the check was still under the homeowner and the public adjuster premium loss. We can't cash a lousy $500 check but they could cash a $96,000.000 + another $61,000 + another $31,900 + another $6,800 + another $2,500. Does that seem fair?

They never put any money in escrow either. I'm wrong this because they don't deserve angry stars. They are the worst insurance company out there. Everyone we know is changing to Erie or Liberty Mutual and if I were you I would too. They are thieves and karma is coming for these frauds that work for them. I could go on forever about our fire. They did all this to an 83-year-old woman who doesn't know anything better.

Also they sent a recoverable depreciation check out without any proper invoices. They used a itemized list with an amount and Allstate released this money. This is FRAUD!!! There is no way possible they could have gotten almost the full amount of depreciation when a lot of work wasn't done!!! So so wrong many levels. All work was substandard. Just awful. Attached are pics of what was sent to Allstate in Malvern Pa for the Recoverable depreciation on the Dwelling and Allstate submitted a check for $31,911. They did not submit any invoices for work done. Just a list of work that only some of it was done. Thank you for allowing me to file this complaint. I've been an Allstate customer (2 Homes and 2 Autos) for greater than 15 years. The unfortunate thing is I've had multiple bad experiences with this insurance company so I'm done. I have finally decided it's best to find an insurance company that really cares about its clients. A few years ago we had a serious storm in our neighborhood. Several of my neighbors needed to get their roof replaced. I called out Allstate and what happens, they denied the claim. Ok, so I said to myself perhaps my roof isn't as bad.

A year or so later I had to call them out again due to water damage in the house from a faulty/cracked roof which should have been identified when the adjuster was on the roof. This time the adjuster says, "Oh, you have a great roof for the age of your house." OMG! Every time that it rains shingles are blown off the house. Please tell me what the definition of great roof is, does it really mean that shingles should be falling off the house during each storm? I sure didn't think so.

House number two, I've noticed that when it rains we get water in the garage that eventually ended up in the house by way of the laundry room. I called out a chimney company because it seemed to possibly coming from that area. No problem, let me just get a new chimney cap is what I said to myself. The chimney company comes out and does a water test. They determined that there's water coming in from the chimney and also the roof. They also advised me to call the insurance company and have them figure out all of the ways I have water coming in. After paying to get the chimney cap put on I called out Allstate because of the damage inside the house and the fact that the chimney company said there's water coming in from several areas.

Allstate comes out gets on the roof, looks at the internal damage, takes a few pictures, looks in the attic, and then says they will contact me later in the day with the findings. Well, as you already suspect the adjuster calls me to say, "Sorry, but your claim is denied due to seepage." WHAT?! You have to be kidding me! This company seems to deny more claims than they approve, this is awful customer service. I am now shopping for another insurance carrier. Best of luck to anyone who keeps this insurance provider. They don't care about their customers.

I have had Allstate for several years now, so I do not take this lightly. I am not just getting on here to write a bad review after one bad experience. It's been multiple problems over the span of 8 years. Their rates are astronomical. Completely bogus. I have had THE WORST agent known to man, Donna ** in Maumelle, Arkansas. She's not retired so it does no good mentioning her name, but her successor Jason ** isn't any better. First, I got a new car and was quoted $140 per month and even paid that amount in advance of my first automatic draft. Well, a month passes and I get refunded that $140 and a new draft is taken from my bank. $180!! PER MONTH FOR A DINKY LITTLE KIA SOUL! I was horrified.

No explanation, no call, NOTHING. And the rate goes up at least $25 a year. It's just nuts. And my house is 15 years old. We had 4 large hail storms in the last year. Everyone in my neighborhood got new roofs. I had 25 adjusters come by (common after hail storms, I know) and all have told me the same thing: You needed a new roof before the last hail storm! It has pockmarks all over it, loose shingles, and every time it rains there is a new pile of roof shingle gravel on my sidewalk and at the base of my gutter drains.

The Allstate adjuster came to approve or deny our claim and it was denied! They are trying to base our problems (which are CLEARLY hail damage) on "faulty installation." Give me a break! That isn't the case. Funny enough, this happened not 1 week after I read an article detailing how Allstate provides the worst customer service among American Home Insurers and that they recently underwent training to help them pin problems on things they aren't responsible for fixing and to help the company save 40% in total payouts for the year. I think we see the real reason they denied my claim. I am currently shopping for new insurance.

I've had my home and auto insurance on Allstate for over 10 years. Last year, I filed a hail damage claim on my partial tin roof and received about $1200 estimate from Allstate, which was $1500 less than the amount received from a local contractor (a friend of mine). I didn't think it was worth extra money and worried it would increase the premium so I decided to keep the dented roof, cancelling the claim request.

A few weeks ago, due to a windstorm that hit the NE region, I had 19 shingles blown away from one side of my roof. There was only one shingle damaged on the other side of the roof but my contractor recommended replacement saying the nails are loose and the roof shingles could be damaged with ease. In addition, the plastic clip that holds the windows in rail got broken in two locations. An initial suggestion from my contractor was replacing the shingles on both sides of roof. There was no part available for the windows.

It took almost a week to bring a third party inspector assigned by Allstate. The first estimate from Allstate (Claim Rep: Shavonne) was $640, or $140 after a $500 deductible. Rather offended, I appealed until an Allstate rep Brittany ** asked for a written estimate from my contractor. I had forwarded a $7150 quote to Brittany, including replacement of two windows.

After a few missed calls, she finally offered $3000 for shingle replacement only on half of the roof. I asked for her manager and was connected to a rep named John **. He basically said the same thing she said, repeating Allstate doesn't pay for non-visible claims. I explained what the contractor told me but was responded I would have to file claims every time loose shingles got blown away, paying a $500 deductible. He also denied the window claim saying it was maintenance issue.

I offered a conversation between my contractor and Allstate's estimator but John ** rejected this request saying I have to provide a written estimate describing the 'invisible damage'- the loose shingles, which means you have to spend your own money to hire the contractor to go up to the roof. I felt they would make every excuse to reduce or delay the process, until you get tired of the process.

That was the end. I didn't feel it was worth my time talking with these people. Allstate's strategy is to deny or undervalue the damage in the beginning then wait until the customer gets fed up. I tried to describe the situation as subjective as I could, so I didn't elaborate how many phone calls and how much time it took until I got here. The claim was filed on March 3, and the final call with John ** happened on Apr. 3.

If you have an experience with roof damage, you'd understand how frustrating it is to keep the damaged roof covered with a tarp. I tried my best to expedite this process, but ended up receiving just $2500 to replace the half of my roof after the $500 deductible. Allstate's motto is 'You're in good hands'. You figure it out. BTW, when I was checking around for other insurance companies, I found out their quotes were about $200 lower than Allstate's.

Allstate spent thousands sending Adjusters and making estimates that didn't even covered our deductible, I had 5 different contractors give me estimates and all said the same thing, the roof needs to be replaced and that the insurance needs to pay. Hired a public adjuster and after (6 months) Allstate finally decided they are going to pay, sent a check to the public adjusters which went out of business. Now they are telling me I need to seek legal action to get the money they sent them and that they could not cancel the check sent to the adjusters, trying to tell me that they discourage getting a 3rd party involved in claims, when the reason why I had to do it was because they basically denied my claim. I got the Texas Department of Insurance involved in the hopes that they do something about this insurance companies.

To all who have had issues with Allstate on claims, unsubstantiated or significant rate changes, unfair/shady practices, you have a free option at your disposal for help. Every state has a Commissioner of Insurance who oversees a State Corporation Commission. You can file a claim via form on their website. Their job is to ensure that citizens are provided with access to adequate and reliable insurance protection; that the insurance companies selling policies are financially sound to support payment of claims; that the agents selling company policies are qualified and conduct their business according to statutory and regulatory requirements, as well as acceptable standards of conduct; and that the insurance policies are of high quality, are understandable and are fairly priced.

My state has a Homeowners Guide on their website as well for more details. They even provide a number for you to call to ask questions about the claim process. Filing valid claims through the Bureau is not what Insurance Companies want. It's essentially an audit! After 30 years of using Allstate for homeowners and auto policies, I've had less than a handful of minimum claims submitted. There was one minor claim in the last 12 years which paid out. It wasn't until I filed a claim last year that I was notified of a 6 month rate increase of $190!!! That is a 25% increase to my original 6 month premium. Here's the kicker - the claim was denied.

I had disclosed I price shopped using the same coverage with their competitors. Having had State Farm since initial construction of this home we were fully aware of replacement costs. September 27, 2017, I paid in full, coverage for our home and two vehicles. December 26, 2017, I received an email they were going to electronically withdrawal an additional $653.00 from our account (We had paid in full for one year homeowners insurance and 6 month vehicle coverage). This withdrawal was to be initiated January 2, 2018. I called the rep who had worked with me in September and she recalled my numerous visits to their office prior to purchasing said policies.

Now, three months later, I’m notified that my home is underinsured by over $40,000 dollars. She told me I needed to pay or cancel when I explained I did not have access to said monies they were requesting and that I felt they should have notified me much earlier and waited for the adjuster before offering me services and collecting said funds. An ironic note to this, the extra money they claim needs to be paid to insure my home is approximately the difference between Allstate and the other companies I was shopping. Now I have 20 days to pay their demanded increase, of which I do not have.

I paid 3 months of payments in advance which I paid through RideNow Insurance Company. After they received my money I received an email from Allstate raising my premium to $62 a month. I called my insurance agent Jordan at RideNow to call Allstate to see what was going on. Jordan from RideNow called me back to tell me a Inspector came out and I had more steps going up to my front door, and a front covered porch and a carport by the back door.

If Jordan had done her homework she would have known this. I found another company with a much lower price with better coverage and had an inspector come out. When I cancelled Allstate with Jordan at RideNow Insurance I was told that Allstate would be issuing me a check for $5... although I still had a $60 credit per Allstate's email they sent to me. So Allstate decided to keep my money. I will never use Allstate again. And Jordan at RideNow Insurance is not very good either. What a RIPOFF! Unless you like giving your money away... all I can say is beware. I paid 3 mos in advance so I could have some breathing time after Christmas. I guess Allstate Insurance and RideNow Insurance thought I was making a donation to their company when I wasn't. Nothing like stealing from the disabled.

I can't get any money back from them. Paid 3 months in advance for insurance on a home they never insured, yet still will not give me my money back. We had documented hail damage in our area a few weeks ago. I work for a roofing contractor and immediately had our guys come out and look at our roof which has sustained visible damage. My vehicle was also parked at the property and a separate claim had to be filed for that. Once we confirmed the damage we filed a claim with our homeowners insurance through Allstate. They sent a 3rd party adjuster out (who was actually a disgruntled ex employee of our contractors) and he denied the claim stating there was not enough "granular loss" where the hail hit. So considering the conflict of interest we asked for a re-inspect.

Allstate came out with an adjuster who never got on the roof but had yet another 3rd party adjuster get on the roof. They noted damage on the ridge vent, gutters, drip edge, and fascia. However, denied the claim because there was 8 hits in a square and not their desired 14. Per their words "this house got smacked with hail" but they still denied the roof. This to me is outrageous. There is clear hail damage which over time it will cause leaks and result in interior damage but they will deny that claim because the roof was damaged and we should have gotten it fixed... But it wasn't enough damage to warrant a claim!? Ridiculous.

Next they said that Iowa is not a line of sight state, so they only had to pay for actual damage. I called them and gave them the Iowa code that showed they were wrong. They came back with the fact that I had a little siding which did not match the other, which meant they didn't have to pay. We had made upgrades to our house, go back to fact that our siding can't be matched, and we were forced to put on different siding. Also we had painted all of the siding. I told the adjuster, because the siding had been painted previously it was going to be hard to match colors. Lifetime the siding contractor advised me that the siding on my home was discontinued and would be hard to replace, so Allstate sent a sample of the siding to a forensic lab for determination. The Lab determined that there was a suitable replacement available on the market.

I was advised by Lifetime that the siding the forensic lab suggested would not match the existing color currently on the home. I told the supplement adjuster Vo ** on 9/20/17 that the contractor stated they could not match the existing color of the siding on the home, he suggested to replace it anyways with mis-matched colors. I understand that state guidelines only require Allstate to replace only the siding on the home damaged by hail but, was told by Allstate representatives that Allstate would make repairs so that the home would be in the same state it was before the hail storm. The problem I have with Allstate's adjustment is the color of the siding on my home all matched prior to the hail damage and should all match the same after the repairs.

Every home surrounding our home had their shingles replaced... many even had their gutters replaced also. We asked two different contractors that replaced roofs throughout our neighborhood to inspect our roof. They insisted that we had the same hail damage as everyone in the neighborhood. When Allstate sent out adjusters and inspectors (they hired) we were told that we did not have any hail damage to our roof at all. They said "You have the best roof I have ever seen (with a chuckle).

When we complained to the assigned Allstate adjuster they said "We can send out a Structural Engineer" to inspect your roof. They sent out two different engineers on two separate occasions (that Allstate hired) that also reported that we had no damage at all from hail. The only other person in our immediate neighborhood that got refused was a guy that owns a roofing company that also has Allstate!!! The same adjuster that refused us refused him!!! All homes in this neighborhood are less than 14 years old. Prices are $650,000 - $1000,000,000+ in Dominion Valley Country Club, Haymarket, VA. Literally every home surrounding us (several deep) and hundreds in our neighborhood had their roofs replaced due to hail damage claims.

Several different roofing contractors stated that Allstate was known to deny claims working with "inspectors" and "Structural Engineers" that they hire. We were told that if those inspectors agreed that there was hail damage Allstate would not use them to inspect other homes. We actually had two separate claims. I am a homeowner with Allstate Insurance also my occupation as a contractor. I currently hold 10 licenses in five states. I filed a claim with Allstate Insurance for storm damage to my roof, hot water heater and guest house roof. Initially talking over the phone to the claims agent I was very satisfied who spoke about the repairs needed and came to an agreement and he said in a few days he would cut me a check.

All of a sudden the day you were supposed to issue the check Wendy notified me that he would not be doing the claim for me and that they do not replace the damages caused by the storm over the phone and adjuster would have to come out and see assess the damages. Two weeks later and adjuster came out obviously with no prior knowledge from the pictures and descriptions and the documentation than I originally gave Abe the first person that I spoke to. The adjuster was very smirky and took a look at my damage and I thought that it was odd that he asked me if I was going to do the work myself.

To my surprise he assessed damages at $2,400. I have $1,000 deductible. I had an awning go through the sheathing of my flat roof and then crushed the venting on my hot water heater tankless dismounting and pouring water into my house. Also my rear house and the ventilation ripped off along with almost half of the shingles down to the sheathing and water was coming through. Of course I complain to everyone that I could and they appointed me to the claims manager Nick **. Where he had I tried to prove that the original assessment was totally wrong due to the materials involved in the repairs. The monies would not even cover it.

So I wrote down an assessment of the damages and he agreed to pay for the materials. My assessment was over $8,000 in Damages in the beginning. He said it was a conflict of interest so I decided to get other estimates on the damages. Starting with the hot water heater. When it came back at almost $6,000 for replacement he then called and harassed the contractor and became unprofessional calling the tech stupid. Then I could not find a roofing contractor to agree with his fix saying they could not warranty it. Then one month later he is still harassing my contractors and he has not funded a significant amount for the damages so I can repair them in. My roof is still leaking in. My hot water heater is malfunctioning at 140-degree, water when it works endangering my children.

He is saying now I have to sign a contract with a contractor to do the repairs and he still won't give me a figure on what he's covering. I've had several people look at the damages and they range from 15 to $30,000. He wants me to pay that out of pocket before he will do anything. It wasn't until I started speaking with him about my mediation that I realized what he was doing from the beginning. He had said in his email correspondence that he could not pay me as a contractor because I was the homeowner in his rate was minimum wage for labor and reimbursement for Home Depot materials. I finally confronted him on what he was doing and he could not reply straightforward. He had to detour from the question. To me that proves what he was doing is intentional. From the beginning I would not speak to him over the phone. I have all of our information over email to document everything. That was the smartest thing I ever did.

I've had several claims in my day and none of them have been this difficult even though some insurance companies didn't pay for all the damages but they were at least reasonable. Allstate claims adjuster Nick ** is who I was speaking to. I saved all of the email correspondence that I have with them and confronted him with everything that I was saying and then some and he admits to the ** business. Immoral business practice I believe is very unfair and endangering people with mold and dangerous hot water heater malfunctioning. I am continuing my fight with Allstate. This and their unethical business practices needs to stop. I would never use Allstate again. Nor would I ever recommend them to anyone. The bottom line was they were trying to push me into making the repairs Myself by dragging everything out so long so that they could pay me minimum wage and reimbursement for Home Depot materials to repair my own claim.

Two weeks later we get another letter stating "Oh well they didn't respond, we are not going after them now. You have to pay the deductible." BEWARE, use another insurance company. The main head office followed through today would like to retract yesterdays complaint. They officially approved the inspection and official documents were sent to my mortgage company with proper dates. Again the local office was wonderful.

    Original Review: Aug. 7, 2017

I purchased Allstate Homeowners Insurance and did not pass the inspection because of plants we had along side the garage and some exposed tar and algae on the roof. We purchased a new roof and took out the plants (detached garage is not even covered). The local office is wonderful but the main office refused to extend the deadline but we made it by the deadline. We had second inspection and passed but still, no documents and results on second inspection were posted after the deadline even though inspection was completed before the deadline. It is now 4 days pass the deadline and home insurance on my Mortgage has lapsed and they stopped my loan for second mortgage, a late fine and possible expensive insurance mortgage company with reinstate. I have called them several times but still no documents. This company is unprofessional, uncaring and deceitful. I am changing insurance.

After working with a customer service representative, Ryan, who was diligent in resolving the issue fairly and to my satisfaction.

    Original Review: Aug. 2, 2017

I've had three homeowner policies with Allstate insurance for many years without filing a claim. After a bad storm in May 2017 I filed first claim. The first three insurance adjusters did not climb roofs, had no ladders or did not show up. Finally on August 1st, 2017, the 4th adjuster did show up and brought a guy that owned the ladder. All the adjuster did was hold the ladder for owner of ladder to climb ladder up to eve of house who took a few photos. Neither one of them climbed the roof and the adjuster stated that he was afraid of heights and did not climb roofs. After 35 minutes of writing his report the adjuster claimed that I only needed to replace some shingles and other minor repairs and gave me a check for $300 plus dollars. He also wanted me to sign a paper which I didn't. He also said that I should file a dispute to have someone else take a look at it and Allstate may honor the claim, 'that is how we operate', stated the adjuster.

I had two roofing contractors climb the roof to give me estimates. Both said they would not repair the roof since the underlayment was compromised due to hail and storm damage and the work could not be guaranteed. They said the roof needed to be replaced and that the insurance company should cover it. After repeated calls and messages to Allstate a lady called and said the photos were not taken from roof, indicating that the adjuster had not climbed roof to make his assessment and that she was going to send a fifth adjuster and tell him to take photos from the top of the roof but that she already had an idea of what the report was going to read.

Meanwhile many of my neighbors insured by reputable insurance have already had their roofs replaced months ago. Allstate should not be allowed to sell any more insurance policies since they only take hard working peoples money with no intention to honor their commitments. I will be pursuing legal counsel on this matter.

We had noticed that our living room furniture was covered in mold, then after searching all areas in the home found more issues with mold, so we called our local agent to see what coverage if any we had for mold. They then told my wife they would have to call headquarters to look into it (YES THIS IS OUR LOCAL OFFICE HERE IN MAGNOLIA TEXAS) while waiting 24 hours on them to find out information that they should already know, I had a mold specialist out to take samples to send to ATM to be sure it was mold and what type, seems our daughter was already very sick from this.

We got our Mold Spore results back faster than our answer on coverage. YES PATHETIC. Long story short it was caused by a roof leak that created water in our attic which then created humidity to the AC unit and created extreme levels of mold to spread throughout our only 5 year old home. We had to evacuate our home due to the seriousness of the mold spores and go to a hotel at $100.00 a night, the adjuster called 8 days into the claim telling my wife that by reading the claim it doesn't look like this is going to be a insurance claim. This was before coming to the home or knowing any details.

My wife told him "Really and you made this determination HOW." Seems how we don't know any facts yet. So the day comes for him to come and he didn't let us down. He right off the bat says "YOU KNOW I'M THE MONEY MAN. I MAKE ALL YOUR DECISIONS." Real professional. He got on the roof said he doesn't see any damage. Didn't even have a clue what he was looking at or for, he then comes in the attic sees the wet plywood and the mold in the attic and says "Ok I'm done. You don't have a claim."

So let me recap this for all you that are considering Allstate as your insurance company. We have had them for 6 years, have never filed any claims and their web page says ALLSTATE WHERE YOU ARE IN GOOD HANDS. LOL what a joke. It also says "When filing a claim we are there for you to help you solve the issue in a timely manner and make sure all your needs are met." We are out of pocket $15,000.00 so far and don't have everything fixed yet and they haven't and are not helping us with any of it, due to the fact this was created by a hair line crack in the air-hawk on the roof which then allowed rain to get in the attic and create this nightmare.

Allstate claims that by looking at the pictures of the air-hawk the crack was not created by wind or hail, so they aren't covering anything. They have no professional degree in determination that this was or wasn't created by wind. They are not in the business for you as the customer. They are only in it to steal from us and make sure their wallets are padded. Please consider all these reviews before throwing your money and home down the drain to Allstate where you are not in good hands.

I called claims dept-denied!!! Any water below ground seeping, gushing, leaking into my basement is not covered. (NO, didn't know that) So I asked how about structural-nope again not covered. So I said only half my house is covered? My roof caves due to rain-I am covered. Someone breaks in I am covered. Someone breaks my window I am covered. Sy stove starts fire I am covered. But anything below ground level concerning water I am not covered unless I have flood insurance.

I do not live in a flood zone and my agent said I do not need flood insurance - so basically I pay 2500 per year for the top half of my house to be insured. If my basement leaks water or floods and blows out my furnace, water heater and water softener and has black mold or even crumbles I am screwed... ** company!!! Lost my business-I already have calls in to Farmers, Geico, American Family, and a couple others. Been quoted 1000 a year for better insurance. Did I mention my original agent quit 5 years ago and I have never met my current agent. Just phone calls from his assistant and letters when I didn't pay on time (I was out of town). Oh and there was a service request on my property (they came and inspected the property without notice). Just found that out too. In 15 yrs I have given them $38000.

We had a local basement crew come in and give us an estimate of $6,000, our Allstate agent said to not take any steps yet until one of their claims adjusters came and took photos. We waited 2 weeks to finally get a call and the first sentence he said was we were denied. I asked how could we be denied when he didn't even come out and look and take pictures and his response was he is from New Jersey.

New Jersey!? I live in New York State! Why the hell are you giving me someone who isn't even living in the same state as me?! Then he followed up by saying that as soon as it starts to rain and the rain touches the ground, we are not covered. This makes absolutely no sense to me when our Allstate Agent told us that we would be covered for a new sump pump and any other repairs. All we would need to pay is our deductible of $1,000. My husband and I submitted a claim to Allstate after we found a leak in our drain pipe between our walls. Below is the timeframe for the leak. The timeline for our leak and thus our claim: Tuesday, April 4, 2017 my husband crawled under our house to replace a filter in the late afternoon and saw a water leak that seemed to be coming from our kitchen sink/dishwasher. My husband immediately called our plumber to set up an appointment to inspect this. At this time, we immediately stopped using our sink and our dishwasher. We tried calling Allstate to file a claim and received the after-hours message.

Wednesday, April 5, 2017 Early Wednesday morning, around 9 a.m. my husband called AllState to file a claim. At that time we were assigned a claim number and were told that an Allstate agent would call us to set up a time to inspect the damage. My husband also called Servepro to try to stop mold from forming and dry out the water. Servepro came out to our house and brought with them a dehumidifier that they placed under our sink.

Thursday, April 6, 2017 Allstate called my husband to let him know that an adjuster would not be able to come to our house until Monday, April 10, 2017. Allstate told Servepro to discontinue all services until an Allstate agent was able to come out to our house to inspect the leak/damage. Thursday afternoon, my husband called a repairman who came to our house and cut through the back of our cabinet under our kitchen sink and found mold and wet rot.

Friday, April 7, 2017 - My husband called to ask an Allstate agent to come out to our house immediately because of the mold and wood rot that was found on Thursday and Allstate told him that was not possible and that they were very busy and we were lucky that they were going to be able to come out on Monday, April 10, 2017. At approximately 10 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017, a plumber came to our house and replaced the pipe under our sink fixing the leak permanently.

Monday, April 10, 2017 An Insurance AllState adjuster came out to our house and denied our claim. We followed the correct protocol for Allstate to cover this claim. We immediately acted upon this leak. The adjuster told my husband that the reason he was denying the claim was because mold and wet rot had formed. Both mold and wet rot are covered according to our insurance policy. Furthermore, mold can form well within the time frame that it took for an Allstate agent to come out to inspect this leak. We live in Charlotte, NC - it has been a very hot spring and we have a lot of humidity. These two conditions speed up the growth of mold.

I have contacted several people within Allstate to let them know that I am appealing this claim. They continue to tell me that they will not cover the claim because this is considered a continuous leak and that the only way that mold and wood rot could occur is if this leak was a continuous leak. So my question is - if the only way that mold and wood rot would occur is if a water leak is continuous then why in their homeowner's policy statement do they say that they cover mold and wet rot? This is a contradiction to what they say they cover. We have been a client of Allstate for over ten years. We have never filed a homeowner's claim during this time with Allstate or any other insurance company. Any guidance you can offer me would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I completely agree with most of you... If there was a zero star that is definitely what Allstate deserves. First off, to address the customer service issues, people should understand that Allstate still seems to follow that guidelines set forth in the McKinsey Documents. Allstate paid roughly 4 million to not release these documents to a court in Florida. These documents are proof that Allstate purposely avoids paying out on claims. They tell homeowners repeatedly that their roofs were not build properly and that they do not insure poor workmanship. This is just an intimidation tactic because they know that the majority of homeowners will just roll over... after all how many of you just decided to give up?

When my adjuster told me that 6 nails were required to each shingle and my shingles did not have six nail holes, I didn't just take his word for it. Especially since that is today's code and I know my home was not built in 2017. It was built in 2004. So I looked up the building code that my city uses and guess what... they didn't require 6 nails per shingle when it was built. Homeowners, please understand, most roofs require inspect and permits which means that the cases of poor workmanship are not as many as you might think. Never take Allstate's word for it. It is just something that they say to homeowners to intimidate them. All of the roofers that I have spoken to agree that this is just something that all Allstate adjuster say.

Second, do your research. Allstate keeps stating that they are not required to match the shingles on my roof. The shingles on my roof have been discontinued. They are green and scalloped. Also, there are no other shingles on the market that have the same dimensions as the shingles currently on my roof. Therefore, I can't repair but must replace my roof, right? NO says Allstate. Just get another architectural shingle and cut it. Remove any undamaged shingle from the repair slope and use them to replace the damaged shingles on other slopes.

Well, by the time any goof roofer has removed any type of shingle from a roof, I promise you it is damaged. It has existing nail holes and now you will be doubling those nail holes which means that you are now reducing the area of the shingle and weakening it. Not to mention that not all creases and cracks are apparent after removal. Any good roofer or engineer will tell you this is at the very least poor business practice. In fact I called the manufacturer of my roofing shingles and they said "No, don't do it. It will void the warranty on the shingles. Don't do it."

So, Allstate was telling me, the homeowner, to devalue my roof, void the manufacturers warrant, and to use damaged materials to make repairs. Does that sound right to you? Of course not. Not to mention the fact that Allstate has also told me that they do not cover damaged/faulty material. So, if I were dumb enough to make the repairs that Allstate was telling me to do and incur more storm damage in the future. Guess what? That's right is not covered. Allstate is telling so many homeowners to do this and continues to get away with fraud.

Furthermore, keep in mind that your roof must be repaired or replaced in accordance with the building code. If the jurisdiction that you live in uses the IRC (International Residential) code, then Allstate must follow the manufacturer's guidelines/instructions as so stated by that code in chapter 9 for roofs. My manufacturer says that the roof needs to be replaced and cannot be repaired. Allstate is still telling me to go ahead and violate building code by repairing it.

Furthermore, Allstate continually low balls on estimates by excluding certain costs. They gave me an estimate for 3-tab shingles... not architectural shingles. They also estimated for depreciated value of materials when my policy called for the actual cost value to replace. They, also refused to estimate for the torn felt that needs to be replaced, flashing, drip edge, and permit. Keep in mind that Allstate doesn't want a homeowner to seek out a roof permit because they might be forced to replace the roof or make a more costly repair.

Lastly, in the state of Georgia, yes, Allstate is required to match materials. Most policies state to replace with "like kind or like quality". How is this not matching? If all of the dimensions are different, different color, shape, composition, material... It is not like kind or quality. Something has to match but not only that the Georgia Superior Court has upheld in Mabry vs. State Farm, for auto insurance as well as homeowner's insurance, that materials should match. The property should be restored to it previous condition which means if the shingles are not the same color and do not match you can tell that a repair has been made. If the manufacturer voids warranty on the remaining shingles, the home has been devalued as well and the insurance company must pay for this.

And it all state says that if it has to replace roofs rather than repair, it would cause premiums to rise. Remember the millions of dollars that it donates to various charities and not to mention the millions that the CEO makes every year. So yes, you are in good hands with Allstate, so long as you don't file a claim and if you do be warned that Allstate will be putting on the boxing gloves.

Remember those commercials that Allstate runs "You're in good Hands with Allstate". Don't believe the lies they are spreading. After 41 years with this company you would think they would know their customers and help them any way they can. They dont. 2005 the nightmare begins with a repeated request to the agent to review my policy to save me some money. I've driven since I was 15 years old, never had ticket or accident, so why are you charging me so much? $5400 and for 5 cars and only two of them can be driven at a time??? And driven no more than 4-5k a year, three of the cars and a truck sit most of their life parked. And I'm retired and my wife a flight attendant and gone two weeks at a time.

After two years of excuses from their agent I changed companies. I gave this agent 48 hours of notice to cancel my policy that I was dropping him because of the poor service and I'm reporting it to Allstate as the reason. "I also have a home policy with them as well... which I'll add to what they did to me." This Allstate agent did cancel the policy for the autos. Why I even sent him a email to his office and "CC" myself back to show it was rec'd and sent. Very very clear it was only the auto policy that I was terminating.

This agent one time told me that he didn't have access to my home policy because I wanted him to review it. But lo and behold this agent cancelled both policies home and auto. I found out the next following week by the agent who was in charge of my homeowner's policy, asking me why I cancelled it. I didn't. "Your other agent did... for revenge for turning him in for his actions and poor customer service... Poor customer service came about because never filed a claim. I had on a comp claim for windshield."

Now I've been without a homeowners policy for my home for 4 days! Because of this guy. My homeowner agent said he didn't if it could be reinstated. This left with two options. The first was a call to the state insurance board here my state, the second to high level call to senior V.P. staff member of Allstate. She shocked that this happen to me, 41 years a loyal customer... And to receive such treatment, she promised me that everything would be taken care. I asked for a letter of apology be sent to me for the action and problems that this agent caused and to have a copy sent to my mortgage service company to show them it was Allstate's fault.

That never happen. They said they would call them. They didn't want a public show of their wrong doing and cover up. In 41 years they insured my homes I have never in all that time ever had risk assessment done on any of the 7 homes I owned. Today I received a notice of non renewal!!! No report, no notice of
changes required to maintain insurance, just the non renewal. I called my agent who somehow no longer is a agent for Allstate. The record of events that happened are missing. I contacted the state insurance board right away and filed a complaint against Allstate for this action, requested a copy be emailed and

sent and received 9 excuses why they couldn't send or sent to wrong email, forgot to send, can't send pictures etc, etc. It took a call to state to get them to release this information to me.

Now reading the information I discover a number of lies as I read through the report: example home owner wasn't home to review. This was lie because the property is a gated access to enter and he was at the gate because I met him. Another problem. No fire hydrant within a 1000 ft. He was right there. It's 50 ft in front of the northwest corner visible from the yard. Another was no railing on rear steps. Umm three step up (30inches) and railing? OHSA doesn't require one until 36".

It was also marked for removal and the agent was informed of a pending addition at that site. Now this guy marked up this document to make it sound like the houses roof was in disrepair when the building he failed to remark about was not the house but the garage which the roofing material was being because a warranty issue class action lawsuit required to replace it. So it wasn't even up for discussion. So this non-renewal is looking more and more as a deliberate act by them because I wouldn't take my auto insurance back with them, they called me and tried hard... Bottom line, I thought well of this company, but they are over priced and lack real customer service and all about the money for them.

Update: house was re inspected by a outside firm from different insurance company and the only thing they recommended was the house looked like the roof might be do for replacement in about five years, I told in about three according to the BASF warranty life. I have now a better rated company by the insurance state commissioner offices (Allstate scores a 8 of 21, with over 1421 complaints for home owner and more for auto). This new company scores a 18 of 21. Better coverage, better agent, get this $400.00 less.

After thought, they wrote us up for having 5 just cars in my yard. These were the same 5 car that they insured before and now called them junk. Age range was from 1999 to 2012. All were current car tags... The first picture you see is the fire hydrant he couldn't find at a 1000 feet because it was sitting 50 feet from the picture. This just one of the examples than Allstate homes I've owned.

Our agent sent first adjuster (Laurie **) a CAT adjuster and she denied saying roof faulty due to being over nailed. Our agent sent another (Tom **) who would not listen to Chris from A-Best. Roof man & agent both there this day. Roof co. argued with Tom & we realized he came to deny regardless. We were forced to hire a public adjuster because our roof was a mess. No shingles blew off but sections would lift holding on by top nail. This is why they thought they could get by with this lie. We live on a dead end street and Allstate adjuster passed four different roof companies replacing roofs on my street. Not to mention full grown 70 + foot trees uprooted all down street which I have multiple photos of all this damage. This was such an obvious lie.

I am sending all documents & proof to journalists all over U.S. in hopes even one publishes this to protect other policyholders. Our public adjuster was getting nowhere until he told Allstate he was going to next level. We told him we were suing for bad faith if necessary. Guess what? Allstate paid for roof & said it should have been replaced. We knew that from day one based on what roof companies said. Our adjuster said 80% of roof companies would do for what Allstate gave so A-Best adjusted price to help us. We changed insurance companies and saved $1,600.00 a year by changing. Wow. We were with Allstate for 33 years and had no idea they were not only the worst but highest company in America. If this happens to anyone reading this hire a good bad faith lawyer. You have 2 years.

A few of the Allstate agents came back with quotes much lower. I worked with one agent and the pricing keep getting changed every time we talked. But overall their final quote was still lower than my current company. I approved them to do the new policy. It took them 3 weeks to get an inspection done on the house. My auto policy is not up until March 30, 2017. Because of the discount given on the multiple policies, I had to pay the full 6 month auto premium a month ahead before it is due. I had no choice but to pay it.

Then a notice of cancellation came dated March 15, 2017, only 7 days after the home policy started, stating my house was not eligible because I work out at my house. Even though I have an office outside of my home, I choose to work at my home. Allstate decided they will cancel my policy. They had wasted me hours talking to their agents and waiting for their inspection. I can't imagine how many professional works at their house, and they cannot get home policy. Their agents are not responsive. I had to call the corporate to get the policy issued. Then they assigned another local agent. The local agent cannot even return a phone call for an inquiry of the policy.

If there is a zero star, they deserve it. Do not use Allstate. They will try to send low quotes to get your attention, and then they use bait and switch to increase the price quote. Don't trust them. They knew I worked at my home when they came for the inspection. Even after they get my insurance business after their detailed inspection, then they decided to cancel my policy after all these work to get the policy issued. On Feb 8 2017 my waterline burst on my toilet that I purchased a year ago. Water was flowing everywhere at fast pace. I panicked and so did my husband. The bathroom flooded my hallway two of my bedrooms and my washer and dryer room. I called my plumber and then I called my Allstate agent and explained what happened. She told me to call Servpro or Servicemaster so I choose Servpro. They came out sucked the water up with their machines and put dryers in the rooms and told me that my bathroom floor two of my bedroom floors along with my washer and dryer room floor which was recently put down two yrs ago had to come up and be replaced. They said water had gotten in the drywalls but the carpet in my hallway which is in front of my bathroom that got wet the most they said it only need to be cleaned but they removed half of the padding and pulled up the carpet and put dryers under it to dry.

I called the claims department to start a claim because Servpro said the damages would be over my deductible. Well the dryers were here from Feb 8th until Feb 12th. Well by now I still haven't seen an adjuster only to find out that Servpro was acting adjusters. They were telling Servpro what was and wasn't as though they were the homeowners. They told Allstate that my hallway carpet didn't need to be replaced because it wasn't as old as the bedroom carpet. They also said that I had mold and I didn't. They would never talk to the insurance company in my presence. They always went to their truck to talk. They took up my floors and we had to walk on plywood because of it and I have a bad back. My claims rep sucked as though she pays my premium. Everything Servpro said that's what she believed. I have called corporate and they are no better.

When the adjuster gave me my estimate after submitting my contractor estimate and her talking to him she tried to get him to lower his fee and he wouldn't. I told her that my vanity had water damage and she wouldn't consider it. I had a space saver damaged along with other things but none of it was considered. When she finished I had 422 to buy carpet for two bedrooms and a bathroom floor and a washer and dryer room and padding but the claims rep told me to go to Home Depot or Lowe's and price the materials and I did. And when I faxed her the prices she would not approve it. Then she said they were sending samples of my carpet to the lab but I never have heard back other than my claim was finished and to this day I have never seen an adjuster.

I had two claim experiences with Allstate. I can say unequivocally the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. They lie and will try to pay you so much less than your claim warrants. My roof leaked into my house. It caused a lot of damage. Every appraisal or estimate of repair I got was north of 7500.00. They tried to give me 2100. For five months I have battled with them. The damage after the contractors started tearing down was closer to 10,000. Yet they make it so difficult to get an appraisal you give up and pay. My 1000 deductible is now closer to 4000 because these pirates make you feel as though you are asking for more than is deserved.

So the contractors are finally done and they did not complete the payment on the claim. They said not until work is completed. Well it has been done now for 13 days and the final check they promised within 3 days never came. So I will be @ a 6590 deductible. They gave me nothing for the roof. They said they did not get to see it so they won't pay. 8275.00 added to my now 6599 deductible. Lies, misrepresentations and wiggle outs.

I would not recommend anyone insure with them. I believe they are patently dishonest. Pay your premium and have coverage that is only going to pay 20 to 30 percent. Their fine print screws you. They could not get a person out to assess the damage. My roof was leaking. I could not wait. I had to do repairs. Worrying about getting further damage gave them the uh oh! Should have put a tarp over it and waited. What a group of pirates. Good hands should be changed to sleight of hands. Any loophole they can create they will. I am embarrassed I insured with this dishonest company. My auto claim was just as bad. They offered half what it cost to fix. The body shop said, "That's the way they do it." Hope you will cash the check and buy a TV. They save thousands. What despicable people!

I recently had water damages to my home from the ice maker of my fridge and it caused a leak in my basement. It took Allstate a week to send out an adjuster. While waiting for the adjuster they recommended a mitigation company to come out and dried out the moisture. They were not able to dried out the basement until they perform an asbestos test which took about 5 days including the weekends. We had to live with the noise of industrial fans and dehumidifier for four agony days and the agent did not respond to my voicemails that I left to see if we were able to stay at a hotel.

We have a 2 year old at home and the condition was not livable yet nobody cares. She finally got back to us after I called up the mitigation company and was complaining. The adjuster came out to do his job and cut me a check for what he thought the damages were. I had 3 subcontractors came out to do the evaluation. There was only one that seems to be reputable so I decided to go with his quote.

Of course the insurance company did not accept the proposal. They told me that removing the wall where the water damage is not necessary and that they can just paint it over. I told them my concern is not about making it look nice. There were concerns of mold and of course they told me that's not likely but yet they can't assure me that there is no mold underneath. The mitigation people that they sent over did not do the job correctly neither. They failed to check for mold and did not seal my basement and belongings before they start blowing industrial size fans which send dust particles everywhere.

All I can say is Allstate did not care whether I was happy or not with the service. If they can save any dollar amount on the cost of fixing they would. Long story short, the water damages happened right before Thanksgiving and it's now January 19, 2017 and I'm still going back and forth with the insurance. My agent is no help as I should've known from the beginning when she does nothing. They want to do the bare minimum and that's their business regardless if it affects you or not. At the end of the day they save money and that's all they care about. They only care to make your damages "looks" good instead of doing it the correct way.

I definitely would not recommend anyone to Allstate and will make sure everyone is aware of the situation I have to and is still going through. We have insurance for a reason and it's very sad that you pay for it yet do not get help in return when you need it. I might as well pay it to my savings account. Their malcontent tenant then squatted for 6 months and put over 10000 dart holes in the walls, flooded the bathrooms, and painted graffiti. I feel like they bullied me into giving them my jeep as well. I cannot stress how much I hate them and this at the time of Christmas. When it is time to renew, I will call them to cancel because they are a horrible company. I never want to be in their hands again for anything.

We have been a customer of Allstate for 25 years. They have been fabulous to work with. We moved into a new custom home 10 years ago. At that time, Pex pipe was used in many custom homes. We had our first problem in Oct, 2012 when the house was six years old. This was when we found out about the class action lawsuit; however, there was no recourse available. We have had 3 more claims since that time; the total cost to Allstate for all claims was approx. $25K. We received a letter in Sept notifying us they would not renew our homeowners policy when it came up for renewal in December, 2016.

I have called, written letters, talked to my local agent and congressional rep and nobody was able to get Allstate to allow us to remain their customer. The reason is because our claims were water related. I have never had this experience; i.e., being told by a company we do not want your business. Also, I never thought I would beg a company to keep me as a customer. I really thought Allstate was different from the horror stories I have heard throughout the years about insurance problems. It is unbelievable how insurance companies are allow to treat their customers and even more unbelievable is that we are forced to tolerate the treatment. Allstate is just like the rest... they love you until you need them and then, they are done with you.

Allstate gave me name of contractor they use who came out and said garage could not be repaired and had to be torn down and rebuilt. Allstate sent out two engineers who confirmed this. That was months ago. They are still not giving me the insured value of the replacement. I cannot rebuild the garage for what they will pay and if I don't replace it, I can only put in a shed. The agent hasn't returned phone calls. I've been more than patient but after their baloney "you're in good hands" I am going to cancel my auto and homeowners with them. They are the worst!

Allstate way overestimated the cost to replace my house for insurance purposes which caused my rate to be sky high. I had another company give me an estimate to replace my house and it was half of what Allstate was charging. I had to fire this company after they raised not only my house but auto insurance. They also bounced my checking account 2 times costing me $80 in overdraft fees when they were told not to use my bank account, that I would be paying with my credit card each month but they went ahead and robbed my bank account anyway.

I feel this company is a complete scam when it comes to costs. I was told rate increase was from other people making claims on their houses. Yet I never made 1 claim on my house yet my insurance cost went up 2 times. I did find another company which I am much happier with and they do not overdraw my bank or raise my rates constantly. I feel I am due a refund for the money they overcharged me for years.

Not only did Allstate take 3 months to respond to the claim, they came back with a $354.00 check. It was literally surreal. They claimed we needed to list all our items with them or they are not covered. Being a homeowner for over 20 years, downsizing to an apartment has had its adjustments. Since I've never had a Renter's Policy before, I wanted to stick with a highly reputable and well-known company - which is why I chose Allstate. I filed a claim after my neighbor upstairs had a leak that came down through my apartment with nasty brown-colored water that soaked and ruined clothing inside a closet. I sent the adjuster at Allstate pictures and video of the incident. Immediately... and let me repeat this, IMMEDIATELY. The adjuster began running down a list of excuses why they wouldn't pay. He even accused me of trying to scam them. When I called him out on it, his excuse was that they have a high incidence of fraud with renter's policies. I was shocked.

While I understand adjusters have a job to do, not once was I reassured that Allstate was in my corner. Quite the opposite was true... you can tell a very STRONG emphasis is placed on them to get OUT of paying claims, and ZERO emphasis placed on quality customer service. I did not appreciate being called a liar - especially when I gave them all the proof they needed for the claim.

One of the agents called me to tell me that they cannot cover the damage because it wasn't under their policy. That's totally fine. All I wanted was to check back in with them and see whether it can be covered or not.

The part that really offended me was that this guy's manner. He treated me as if I was the one who kept asking for money or arguing with him about the policy. He was defensive in the beginning of the call and kept going on with his argument. Then I asked for clarity on some damage coverage statements. He cut my question and repeated the same argument quickly as if I couldn't understand his statements. At that point I already got angry on his tone of the voice and manner. This unpleasantness ruined my morning. I don't know what type of call he made right before mine, but it was really unfair and offensive that I was treated as such since my claim was about investigating the situation with them and understand it not getting money from them.

If they could simply explain how they investigated the case and answer my question in polite way, I would've been ok with this situation. I don't want to worry about talking with rude people in the future, especially when I am worried about the accident happened in my house. A hail storm occurred the first week of July 2016. Allstate did cover all damages related to hail damage EXCEPT the most expensive part, the roof. The adjuster told me and showed pictures of an estimated 50 chipped concrete roof tiles that he claimed not one single chip was due to the hail. I don't know how anyone can make that assumption knowing that the roof was inspected less than a year ago with no damage reported.

Allstate claims that all of the chipped tiles are due to a manufacturer defect. So in their view, they are saying that at least 50 concrete tiles all chipped, on their own, in less than a year with no weather related damage. Other homes on my street with different insurance companies but the same type of roof ARE covering the damages to their roofs. I will not continue to insure my home with Allstate in the future.

When we filed our claim with Allstate and Castle Key insurance they said everything will be taken care of and we need to submit the picture of the damages. We did all that.

A few days later, the local agent called and asked for appraisals for the 3 pieces of jewelry we listed in the online application. 2 weeks later we get a bill for $2500. I called to ask what this was since the policy we were quoted was $723 (and we paid it in full). The person insisted I made changes to the limits and this was why the policy went up.

After arguing for over a week, someone called and admitted the policy was being jacked up to cover the jewelry (even though I listed them in the online quote to the penny) and insisted we were called and this was discussed and we agreed to pay this. They actually increased the premium 500% and didn't call - just expected us to pay. Laughingly, I asked her if she was being serious in asking us to pay $3500 per year for a renter's policy. She was dead serious. Asked to cancel it immediately, kept trying to talk me out of it and insisted I needed to send her an email to confirm the cancellation. Some called while I was talking to her and I did not like the way she was trying to get me to decide on the phone. I received a call and placed her on hold. It was Travelers. They had better coverage and better rates that I could afford. I agreed to sign with Travelers instead of Allstate. I switched back to the call with Allstate and she was gone but I received a call from another agent. Told her I had got a call from Diane but I went with another insurance. Diane was talking to my mortgage company unbeknown to me. I signed with Travelers, called my mortgage company three way, got everything set up and started.

Next day I received a call from Diane's manager asking me why I did not choose Allstate. I explained and he ended the called saying that he was sorry about not getting me to sign. I had already signed with Traveler and spoke to another MORTGAGE REP. WHO CONFIRMED, SO THAT agent who spoke to Allstate called them and they had to resolve that between them.

Now I just received a letter from a CC. A debt collection agency stated I have a past due debt with Allstate for the full amount of a policy I never signed nor agreed to. My wife and I recently purchased a home that was built in 1955. Allstate Homeowners Insurance was recommended to us. We purchased a homeowners policy and while doing so we were ask if we wanted to purchase a life insurance policy as well. Not knowing what the future holds we did decide to do this as long as our payments for the life policy would be deducted from our escrow account just as our homeowners policy and yearly taxes would be. The agent assured me that would be no problem to have it set up that way. Keep in mind that the Allstate Agent Bonny ** was told ahead of time that if this was not a possibility, that we did not want the life insurance policy.

Everything was moving along smoothly until we were in our house for 3 days, then we received a cancellation notice for our homeowners policy due to the fact the "5" shingles on our roof were worn a bit. So then we moved on to another home owners policy, not that much headache involved. At that point we start getting notices from our bank about being overdrafted in our account...which by the way our account has never been overdrafted in the 3 years it has been open. Allstate was debiting money out of our account for the life insurance policy. We contacted Bonny ** for 3-4 straight days by email and telephone leaving several voice mails as to why Allstate was debiting the money out of our account when it was supposed to be taken out of the escrow account.

Finally on the 4th day we received an email stating that she worked 5 separate offices and did not have time to keep up with every finite detail of her customers' lives and that we should have contacted her before closing on our home so she could have it set up that way. Also in her response was a statement that we purchased a policy and now we had to pay for it, the policy was not free of charge. We conceded thinking our mistake was not notifying Bonny ** about our closing. Ms. ** said now that the closing had taken place we could not set up the payments to come directly from the escrow account. We apologized and corresponded with Ms. ** about the payment and requested that all future payments come out of our bank account on the 21st of the month, not the 5th of the month due to our pay schedule. Ms. ** assured us that this would be no problem and we thought all was settled once again. It was not!!

We continued to get cancellation notices from Allstate due to lack of payments. Again keep in mind we started the policy April 14th 2016 and paid her $90. May 1st Allstate direct drafted $91 from our account. I contacted Ms. ** about the cancellation policy notices and she stated that it was a billing issue and it was out of her hands and we would have to contact them to get any issue resolved. When we contacted billing and spoke with Christy she stated that it was set up on quarterly billing and that would be easy to resolve. However due to the fact that we wanted the payment date changed from the 5th of the month to the 21st of the month, we would have to send in another $91 and also on the 21st of July another payment of $91 would be direct drafted from our bank account. In doing this everything would be resolved and we would be caught up on all payments and everything would be resolved. It was not resolved.

On July 22 I called the bank to make sure the direct draft came through - it had not. I called Allstate Customer Service Line and was told that the policy was in cancellation due to non payment. Summing up all this mess we have paid out $$270 and have gotten nothing in return except headache, stress, grief, and horrendous customer service. Now in order to cancel the policy we have to fill out a cancellation form and after Allstate approves it should they deem any refund due they will cut a check at that time.

I will not recommend anyone purchase any policy with Allstate. We were not in good hands. As far as we are concerned Allstate Insurance is nothing like they advertise. Buying life insurance and home owners insurance should never be this stressful and hard. We have never had such a horrid experience anywhere like the one we encountered with Allstate Insurance and its agents. Please please please take our advice and run when you hear the words Allstate insurance. Trust us you will not be in good hands!!!

Just received a non-renewal notification from Allstate Homeowners Insurance Company. I have paid insurance through Allstate for the length of my home ownership, 15 years, starting at a premium of $899 which is now over $2200 per year. In those 15 years I have had a total of 2 claims, the first a little over $3000, which occurred in May of 2012. The second most recent was filed February of 2016, of which the entire payment was recovered from the other claimants insurance company.

In other words Allstate recovered all of the monies that was paid to us for the damages incurred, an SUV struck our garden area destroying our brickwork. The non-renewal statement clearly shows both claims with the latter indicating $0.0 paid. It is beyond my belief how an insurance company whose slogan is "You're in good hands with Allstate" can be so heartless and drop a customer who has paid insurance for 15 years, but because of two claims which totaled less than $4000 can drop a customer with two months left on our policy.

My recommendation to anyone considering going to Allstate for homeowners insurance is to not even consider them in the first place, and for current policyholders I would seriously consider looking into another company for insurance. Allstate should change its slogan to "You're in good hands with Allstate, until you file a claim". Apparently Allstate only cares about those customers who never file a claim. I thought the purpose of insurance is to cover your home for damages, but in Allstate's case its only purpose seems like to collect your money and hope you don't file a claim or two. This company turns out to be probably the worst insurance scam I have ever heard of.

Apparently Allstate never heard of the power of social media. This letter to ConsumerAffairs is only the beginning, I intend to put this company on blast until it reaches the media, enough is enough with this company. I had no idea Allstate was this bad, and to find out how bad this way, makes it even worst. This is not the way to treat loyal customers, Allstate should be ashamed of itself. The claims filed were NOT of negligence, and was through no fault of our own. With the notice Allstate has the gall to state "Feel free to contact your Allstate representative to see if there are any ways Allstate can continue to work with you to meet your insurance needs". Really, why would I want to be a customer after this. Never again, not homeowners, not car, not rental, no insurance products ever again from Allstate for this household. I intend to pass this on to as many people as possible.

He and another person at the office are very responsive to my emails. He calls me when I prefer not to be called, seems like a genuine guy. I pay one month's premium, but when I get the policy it say I live there & had another misprint on it. When I ask him if it's okay, because I don't live there, I get no response. I tell them I won't sign the papers & fax them back until I get an answer. This was 2 weeks ago & several messages later to him & the other person not a blip from either. No response whatsoever.

So yesterday I finally call the 800# to clarify some things & just to verify I even have a policy, which they confirm I do. But I still feel leery. I mean who hounds you & then ignores you but makes you think a company is reputable? And I found out that most things can be handled by the 800# so why are there field agent offices? My car company, Wawanesa, doesn't have field agencies. It's a company & I never had an issue with a claim so this is weird to me someone courting you then "dumping" you once they get your money.

Plus, I'm worried if something does happen, because the policy written isn't correct, that they'll deny any claim if they realize I don't live there even though they said it wasn't an issue. Why lie? Apparently my fiance's policy is written the same way, but he hasn't dealt with the guy in over 10 years (no claims). I think I will look into Liberty Mutual. We recently switched from American Family for our homeowners to Allstate... What a huge mistake! The agency botched the switch over and we had to send in all the paperwork to our bank. A few weeks after we with Allstate, we received notice that we were missing 5 individual shingles on our roof due to a "windstorm" a few weeks earlier. We were much luckier than others in our neighborhood. 3 days later we had the 5 missing pieces replaced and we notified our agency the problem was corrected. Today we received a refund and cancellation notice for roof problems. We contacted our agency and received info that it was because their inspector could not make it out within the 20 days. I was upset and wanted to make sure this was just a "wires crossed" situation and they could not confirm.

I called the agency when I got home, still upset, and demanded to get answer as to whether or not they were going to reinstall the policy or if I needed new insurance. The agency was unable to give me an answer. Fed up I left a negative review on their Facebook page. The agency owner reached out and asked to speak with me Monday to fix the problem, which I agreed to.

One of the girls at the agency wrote a reply to my post telling me to go elsewhere and made an outright lie about a conversation with my wife. I contacted the agency owner and told him that since his people wanted me to go elsewhere and called us liars, we would not be looking to contact him. 15 minutes later the Facebook posts were deleted. What a mistake we made to save some money. Mayhem? Allstate and its agencies are the real mayhem. Hopefully someone will learn from this and not make the same mistake we did. Never been treated so rudely and unprofessionally in all my life.

I made a BIG MISTAKE. I called Sughrue for a quote. I decided against switching. I verbally told them I would not be buying insurance from them. They charged my mortgage servicer for a year of homeowner's insurance. They were paid. In addition, my real Insurance company was paid. How did they get my mortgage info. I was told to get a quote I had to prove that I had insurance the past 12 months. I faxed the declaration page from my insurance company to them. When I called Sughrue I was told the person that had handled this was no longer employed. Conveniently her last day was just the day before. I asked to speak with Sughrue, before I could explain the problem he yelled at me "you have insurance with us" and he hung up on me. BTW I have written proof that I did not agree to the policy.

My mortgage servicer called them. My mortgage servicer said what they did was ILLEGAL. ILLEGAL to have 2 insurance policies. It was agreed to refund what my mortgage servicer had paid them. Weeks later I receive a Cancellation Notice with a partial refund! Finally months later I did receive the full amount. Maybe it was an honest mistake, (who knows maybe that is why the person that initiated the quote was no longer there). If I had been treated courteously and if they had admitted I never had a policy and was sent the full refund I would feel differently. But this has gone on for months with several hours on the phone. I am filing a complaint with the Insurance Commission.

My area had bad storms last year that damaged home siding and roofs. Everyone on my block was affected. I was the only one insured with Allstate. Most had State Farm. I filed two claims for roof damage. Allstate refused. Their premiums are very high, they do not insure their customers, they ** them. We had a wind storm this year. I have sheets of shingles that flew off the roof. Allstate refuses coverage. Have had them for 16 years. Find another company. If enough people pull away maybe they will get the message. Oh, and contacting the Department of Insurance is useless. Allstate bought them.

Submitted claim to Allstate Homeowners Insurance in March of 2015. We had storm water damage that was caused storms. Water came in through windows from rain/windstorms. Dry wall and kitchen cabinets were damaged along with mold damage. Water damage was behind drywall, walls and kitchen cabinets, hence damage from mold incurred due to damage being unseen, not visible until over time.

Allstate claims adjusters stated damage was "long term" and or maintenance related and therefore not covered. Their assessment incorrect as I have requested numerous times for Allstate to provide proof when damage started. They cannot provide that information or proof of damage starting. Therefore, they have not proven that it is long term damage. Over $6,500.00 damage, of which Allstate should have paid out $4000.00 to cover cost of damages. I have both Allstate Homeowners and Allstate Flood insurance and with all this coverage, Allstate refuses to stand behind its product and service. If you think you are in good hands with Allstate, you are sadly mistaking.

I was with American Family for 15 years. The rates were a little high so I I decided to shop around. I choose Allstate. HUGE mistake. I see a lot of reviews regarding claims, I haven't even submitted a claim. I have only had them as my insurance company for three months. I have wasted so much time with them "straightening" things out.

First off my homeowners insurance was a little higher with them but I was getting a significant savings on my car insurance. The first issue was they told me they would take care of cancelling my current insurance policy but they did not then they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about. Luckily American family refunded me for the extra six weeks I paid them. Second, they kept sending me a partial bill for my homeowners insurance. I called numerous times to straighten this out. This bill was to go to my mortgage company. I had to provide them with the contact information numerous times. They are A big company. They should know how this works.

Third, they sent an inspector who decided we needed a new roof. Our roof was not horrible but did need to be replaced in the near future. They decided this a month after the policy started. They gave us little time to do this and who puts on a roof in March in the Midwest? They said they were cancelling the policy but would reinstate it when the roof was complete without a lapse. We got a new roof in their timeframe but because they took too long to send out an inspector the insurance lapsed. They reinstated the insurance about three weeks later. In the meantime my mortgage company tacked on some insanely high priced insurance because we didn't have any. So that was all done with and I was like "ok everything's good now."

Haha I was so wrong. Today I'm balancing my checkbook and see Allstate took out $544. I was signed up for monthly automatic payments for my auto insurance, which should only be $100 or so. Naturally I'm fuming. I call my local agent thinking it has something to do with my homeowners insurance again but she tells me it's my auto insurance and she doesn't know what the deal is but will call back later.

She calls back and tells me they made changes to my auto policy. Changes I have no idea about or authorized. She goes on to tell me that because I don't have proof of continuous auto coverage I lost that discount. So my insurance went up $1200 for a six month period. Mind you my insurance was $600 for six months. I was like "that's not true. I've had American Family for the last 15 years." My policy with Allstate started 2-19 and my coverage with American Family ended 2-23. There was no lapse. I've had Allstate for three months and they're just coming up with this now. No one contacted me about this.

The lady at my local agency tells me they will charge me $544 next month too. I argue with her for a while that I did not authorize this charge and would never pay $1800 for six months of auto insurance. I didn't get anywhere. She tells me to call American Family and have them fax her the information stating when my insurance ended with them. They do so quickly. I get a call back from Allstate saying they received the information but it's not good enough for them. They need a special form that comes from corporate headquarters but she talked to American Family herself and they were going to get that for her. Once they get the form she will have the underwriters review it but that could take 7 days.

Next American Family calls me and says Allstate is being difficult. He says this form will take 7 days or so to process but he will get it to Allstate ASAP. So now I'm looking at two weeks at least to possibly see my money again. Another interesting thing is that there seems to be this magical database for all insurance companies that has all this information from all insurance companies. Both Allstate and American family mentioned it but somehow American family could see that I had insurance through 2-23 but when Allstate looked at it my insurance ended in December. Weird? Why did it take Allstate three months to come up with this. Obviously when they gave me the quote three months ago they knew I had insurance when they gave me this discount for having insurance. Three months later there's an issue? They never called and said there's an issue. If they had I would have taken care of it.

I regret setting up automatic payments but I did this with American Family for 15 years and never had an issue. I was always notified when there was a change in the amount they were taking out of my account even if it was a few cents. It's complete fraud. It's stealing in my opinion. I work hard for my money and feel ripped off. I filed a complaint with the Allstate corporate office but have not heard anything back yet. This is a major insurance company. They know what they're doing but they sure play stupid when you question them. They pass the blame or make up ridiculous excuses. Not professional at all.

I'd love to get a lawyer because surely this has to be illegal but that would cost more than I lost. I am hopeful that I'll get this "straightened" out and get my money back. I'm sure there will be something else that comes up. I plan on looking for another insurance company after I get my money back. My advice is to stay as far away from Allstate as possible. Do not give them your business unless you like spending all your time dealing with them and having your money stolen.

The continued increase in auto and home insurance is leaving me speechless. I contacted my insurance agent for a policy review. The meeting was excellent. I gained a much better understanding of why the increase in insurance. The increase comes from so many reasons but here are a few... if you're in an accident and you have injuries, or a person you hit has injuries your auto insurance pays yours and their medical bills however, if the cost of health care goes up, the cost of the insurance has to go up to keep up with the cost of the health care increase.

And auto repair... when auto repair goes up, auto paint, labor, parts, etc. the cost of insurance has to go up to keep up with the cost of repairs. If you have a widget you're selling... and you have to get the parts from 4 different companies and those 4 companies raise their price, the widget price has to go up because cost of goods has gone up. Once it was explained to me I understood better. No one likes to pay more but at least I understand now.

I would expect any agent to work for the company, but with me as well and not seemingly against me. I am a 26-year customer of Allstate who has never complained, paid premiums on time, and never once filed a claim. When I had a recent issue with a rental property, I became painfully aware I was dealing with an agent who didn't have my best interest at heart. I would recommend anyone dissatisfied with their agent to take action. Contact corporate, change agents, or even companies if need be. If still not happy, file a complaint with the Dept. of Insurance. After many years with Bill **, I am no longer recommending this agent.

Many homes in the area had damaged roofs, and in the area that I live 85 roof replacement permits have been issued between 8/1/15 and 3/31/16. Many homes were visited by roofing companies that knew our area had damage. I had a roofer come out and stated that he did see roof damage and he showed me pictures. We did file a claim, and Allstate sent out a team of two to review the roof. Allstate found NO hail damage on our roof. Coincidentally our neighbor was also having their home inspected (State Farm) and they were granted a new roof. We are left to conclude that Allstate treats policyholders differently than other insurance companies.

We had an F1 tornado in our area March 1st of this year. We filed a claim with Allstate for roof damage as did our neighbors with various other insurance companies. All other companies except Allstate are paying for new roofs for the damage. We had two companies inspect our damages and determined that the entire roof needed replaced. Allstate only wants to replace part of it which conveniently is up to the amount of our deductible. We cannot replace only part of the roof because the shingles have been discontinued by the manufacturer and cannot be matched.

We live in a HOA which does not allow us to have mismatched shingles and Allstate knew this before they insured us. It has been an ongoing battle since this happened. The adjuster that they sent out bragged about how he is not giving any of their customers roofs. A couple of our neighbors were able to get another adjuster to look at the damage and are now getting their roofs but for some reason, we cannot get them to send another adjuster to look at our damage or to reevaluate our claim. For those that have AllState, please get rid of them and for any others, don't get this company. "You're In Good Hands With AllState" until you need to file a claim.

Plumber stated it looked like the pipe just burst. When adjuster arrived he took pictures and submitted the claim. First All State declined the claim stating it was due to seepage. I said how can it be seepage the pipe burst. Then they changed it to wear and tire. Claim is still denied. Told several friends about my claim and the first words out of their mouth was you must have All State. I kills me having AllState for over 15 years without a claim and they denied this. On 12/24/2015, a terrible storm came thru my area - winds at 40-50 mph for about 45 minutes, hail, and lots of cloud to ground lightning. At 3am lightning lit up my house, the electrical outlets had electricity shoot out of them and the power went out. When the lightning hit, it sounded like a truck fell on my house (I was expecting a tree). My roof began leaking in the front and back of the house badly. At daylight, I discovered the inside of my chimney was missing - and some of the rocks had gone thru my roof - no damage around my chimney just the outer edges of my roof. My upstairs lights were out, and my double oven, stove and fridge were not working properly, my microwave was inop all together. I called a guy to come patch my roof and he sealed the leaks temporarily.

I called Allstate and filed a claim - around March 10, they sent inspectors out and then engineers. The engineer that was to inspect my roof and chimney did not bring a ladder and could only take pictures from afar. He took pictures of the stones that had been sitting out in the wettest 3 months I have ever seen. It flooded 2 times and rained every day for 2 months and then claimed the damage was from deterioration and the discolored ceilings were from long term leakage. The ceilings have been up and intact for 40 years. The electrical inspector said the fuse box had discoloring but nothing else. I even pointed out to him the section that the circuit breaker upstairs was attached to was not only discolored but burnt off the box.

Also I showed him where my power usage was negative the day of the strike (where electricity flowed backwards thru my meter into the lines outside). Ignoring all this and the 2 inspections I had done, Allstate said the damage was not storm related and denied the claim. Then sent me out a non-renewal notice due to un-repaired storm damage citing the roof, chimney and breaker box.

Allstate is an unbelievable poor excuse for an insurance company. On Easter Sunday we awoke to a flooded house due to an unknown pipe burst. We immediately contacted an after hours plumber and Allstate in order to ensure we alerted all the proper parties to the issue and to immediately get the claim in process. Come to find out we had a hot water pipe burst and although the plumber that arrived was not able to find the leak, he did stop the hot water from flowing. Allstate then referred us to a company called Blackmon Mooring (a water extraction company). I spoke to company and requested information around the cost and exactly what was going to be done. The company would not provide me any information and only stated "don't worry about it your insurance will pay for everything." Because of the lack of transparency I declined the work to be completed and began to dry out my house myself.

The following day (Monday) I had a leak detection team find the leak and I also spoke to the claims adjuster to discuss the details. Right from the start the claims adjuster stated that the leak and all the damages would not be covered if the problem was found to be in the slab. He was also extremely rude and uncaring for the situation I was in. Needless to say the hot water leak was in the slab; however, the line went from my hot water heater to my bedroom and then was routed under the floor to the kitchen (completed by the builder at the time). This should have been completely covered. Furthermore, the inspector arrived at my house on Monday, stayed 5 minutes, took a couple pictures and told my wife nothing was covered - slab leak... Keep in mind this was not a slow slab leak, rather a sudden pipe burst.

Once we heard that comment we rushed to the Allstate office to discuss the matter with the agent - the agent tried to make phone calls and stated he felt it should be covered, but his hands were tied - I find that hard to believe. We even tried to reason with the Adjuster and he literally laughed on the phone when my wife and I were going through our concern with the denial. This was all captured on speaker phone with the agent present - he did not come our defense once. The adjuster thought this was funny while our house sustained $20,000 in damage. Long story short, this was my first claim in 15 years and Allstate completely left me out to dry with $20,000.00 in damages....

Now on to Blackmon Mooring. As I stated I declined to have the company come to my property on Easter Sunday. On Monday night two people from that company actually showed up at my house and asked if I was ready for service. I told them to leave, I did not want nor need their service. They left and as they were leaving they took a picture of the front of the house. My wife ran out to see what they were doing and the driver stated "My supervisor requested that I take a photo so we can bill for a visit".

I brought this concern to Allstate and it fell on deaf ears. Apparently, Allstate feels as though this highly unethical behavior and fraudulent activity is something that is completely acceptable. All I can say is Allstate does not care about the customer and the customer is NOT in good hands with Allstate - it was a battle from the time a sudden and accidental discharge of water from a burst pipe that is a part of the insured dwelling completely ruined my wood floors, baseboards, and carpet.
