I have been with this company for almost 30 years. I can count how many times I've made a claim on one hand. My reward for being a loyal customer is a false, fraudulent claim accusation. I thought the whole point of homeowners' insurance was to cover emergencies. This company has insulted me and attacked my character. Thanks for kicking me while I'm down.

My husband and I have been working with Alycia ** at the Darren Davis Office since we purchased our first home, and we truly could not have asked for a better agent. From the very beginning, Alycia walked us step by step through the process of securing homeowners' insurance and bundling it with our auto insurance, making everything feel simple and stress-free. She is extremely attentive and always looks for ways to meet your specific needs. On one occasion, when I was having difficulty paying my bill by the required due date, Alycia took the time to help me explore my options and find a solution. That level of care and support meant so much to us. Alycia is professional, understanding, and genuinely caring toward her clients. It gives me peace of mind knowing she is our agent. I am truly grateful for her guidance and highly recommend her to anyone looking for an insurance agent who truly cares.

My name is Yoko **, Allstate is horrible!! My neighbor's tree fell on my house and it was NOT an Act of God. The tree had a cavity in it and was dead. I filed a claim with my insurance company but Allstate of refusing to pay after the adjuster (Nathan ** phone# **) told me the only way they would pay if the tree was dead. I thought Allstate stood by their name since they've been around so many years but I'm having to fight in order for them to pay. I should NOT be responsible for my neighbor's negligence of upkeeping his trees and property. Allstate PAY ME MY MONEY BACK!!!! You all suck as an insurance company. I have contacted Nathan ** supervisor Jacqulyn ** (**). I've left her messages and she's yet to return my phone calls. PAY ME MY MONEY!!!

I canceled my policy in June 2025. My mortgage company mistakenly received the escrow payment, which it was not supposed to have. I have been calling for a refund for about five months, but they keep telling me that they mailed the check. As of December, I still have not received it. I called again on December 21, and they informed me that the refund is still pending. This company is not honest. This has been the worst insurance experience I have ever encountered, and they do not stand by their promises.

Terrible at paying claims. Awesome at doing everything they can to not pay a claim. Awesome at lies and twisting the wording of your policy around to fit their own narrative. They cost me more having them as my insurance than not having insurance.

Had to submit my first claim ever due to storm damage to my roof, leak in multiple areas on a middle aged roof after one storm. 6+ years loyal customer with no prior claims over 2 homes and bundled with auto. Adjuster was sent out to inspect, found the damage locations, photographed extensively and was still denied after being dragged out for more than 2 months so that I would continue paying my premium. Oh, and there's an early termination clause in place on specific insurance policies. Really felt like a scam at the end. Cancelled immediately, would not recommend to anyone. Maybe stop spending so much money on expensive endorsements and advertising and just take care of your paying customers.

Helene storm damage claims handling and payout. Has been traumatic and an awful experience. ALLSTATE punishes home policy owners by using the deny and delay tactic. They make you deal with a different person almost from one phone call to the next, it seems. They do not care that your contractor and you, as the owner, took care of many things that saved Allstate money. They are hell bent on fighting every detail that is over their very minimal offered payout. We stayed in a half-useable house for almost a year, saving them thousands in temporary rental money and temporary motel money. We could have refused to stay in the half-useable house that we work out of due to the unsafe conditions, and contractor work generated noise and dust. They are definitely not "The Good Hands People".

I believed in Allstate’s slogan — “You’re in good hands.” But unfortunately, my experience has been far from that. My claim was originally withdrawn because of the reasoning provided by the adjuster, but I decided to reopen it after realizing that his assessment was incomplete and inaccurate. The adjuster did not fully inspect the damaged areas of my home, and I strongly disagreed with his findings. When I reopened my claim, I expected a fair review. Instead, Allstate denied it again — this time with a completely different reason that is not true and does not reflect the actual condition of my property. It’s very frustrating as a customer to see that their decision did not take into account the detailed assessment and report provided by the licensed roofer who inspected my home.
I’ve requested a different adjuster multiple times so that my case can be evaluated fairly, yet that request continues to be ignored. No one ever wants unexpected damage to happen to their home. That’s why we have insurance — for peace of mind and protection. But in my case, instead of feeling “in good hands,” I feel dismissed and unsupported. I truly hope Allstate lives up to their promise and takes the time to review my case properly and fairly.

This company is a big scam. They have raised my homeowners policy by 110% because I filed a claim this year and even if you don’t file a claim, If you call in to even ask about the possibility of filing a claim, they report it as a claim so that it goes on your claims record which makes it harder for you to get insurance anywhere else. Please please do yourself a favor and avoid this company for any type of homeownership’s insurance.

Took several years to finally get a roof and they tried denying again but adjuster made them cover. Now not helping me with anything on floor damage from water leak in bathroom. Horrible insurance company. Better off putting the money you pay them each month in the bank and paying for repairs yourself, because you pay them and still get stuck paying for any repairs you need.

First let me say that their voice automated system is a joke, I would elaborate but let's just say I dread calling them. My husband and I switched car and home insurance when our previous company prices went up. Allstate was able to match our home policy and give us better car premiums. It has been a nightmare since we switched on 8/27/2025. Unfortunately we had a tree fall on our neighbor's car on 8/29/2025. So we had to file a claim and noticed that they entered our house number incorrectly. We asked them to correct it. Well that seems to be a huge problem. First person had said he wasn't sure how that was going to work. Our mortgage company said we needed to update the insurance info. He made a call to Allstate with us on the line, we had a 3 way call. This person we spoke to said that the previous person did not put any notes into the system, go figure.
The current person we were on the phone with said, that it was possible they would have to cancel the policy and put in a new policy with the correct address. I called today trying to get past the stupid automated voice system, was transferred 3 time (as usual). They tell me no the policy is cancelled and a new one hasn't been initiated (what the H) the last 2 people were suppose to do that. After another transfer I talk to a license agent in my state, I explained the entire story and I told her just how bad I thought the company she worked for was. I said don't take it personal but.... then I let go.
We talked more then the line is disconnected. I call back get transferred the usual 3 times, then this person says we have to reissue you a new policy but they rarely back date those policies. I said that none of this is our fault, go back to the person that entered our information wrong. So I had to talk to another insured agent to write another policy effective today and hopefully the escalation department can back date the policy so our claim would be covered. Really again it's not our fault, it's your fault and it better to covered or I am going to be forced to take this up legally.
The thing is, the agent that did our last policy said I am looking at the pictures of the house that you had sent in, when you start up them. I see one with your house number right on it. Ha now I have proof. Fingers crossed! I heard it's way better if you have an agent. When you get rates on one of those sites you have to deal with their corporate office. I can't have an agent unless corporate approves one and they denied the 2 that we were suppose to get. Wish me luck!

I was just told after being a Allstate customer for 30+ years that they will not cover the damage from a storm. Somewhere in the fine print there is always something to keep them from paying anything. With a $680 a month premium you think they would cover something. I will let everyone I know and every person I come in contact with to not use Allstate. This is very disappointing after having been a customer with them for such a long time.

We have been customers since 1986. Our interactions and communications with our agents, prior to this last agent (Tiffany **) have been satisfactory. When she took over the agency approximately one and one half years ago, communication from her via email or phone came to a halt. She does not respond to calls or emails. She has someone else call who only tries to upsell, not discuss or answer current questions regarding our 3 policies with Allstate. We were forced to change agents this past week. I hope someone speaks with Ms. ** about her lack of customer service!!

The Castle Key Insurance as a Subsidiary of the Allstate Corporation. My Claim was painful and took long long time more than a year. It has been a long road since my Claim 10/19/2022. Miami, FL. I feel like the Castle Key Company has treated me like a number as policyholder, not a person, ignoring the emotional and psychological impact their delay and lack of consideration for the impact on my life, personal belongings and assets. I would appreciated it if The Castle Key Insurance would take a more empathetic and human-centered approach to resolving my claim.

Very disappointed in the rate hikes. It's understandable that there will be rate increases due to circumstances beyond our control. When I first got insurance at this agency under (Gary **) was the agent he gave me a wonderful rate at around $600 plus some change for an annual premium. Then the next year it went to around $800. I went with it and didn't complain. Now, going into June of 2026 my annual premium is just over $2,500! Every person I have spoken to including my Credit Union has even agreed this kind of rate hike is insane. At this point I am trying to see what options are out there and reported this rate increase to the Office of The Insurance Commissioner of Wa State to see what they say. I called this office to see exactly why my rates had risen to such an absurd amount and basically nobody gave me any explanation but just the run-a-round to write a formal letter to Allstate asking why.
I would be very careful choosing Allstate. What started out great got worse and worse with each passing year and a markup of well over 200% is not acceptable. Also understand that back in 2022 the courts overturned a law that said Insurance companies cannot use your credit score to determine things involving your insurance. Now that it has been overturned this gives insurance companies even more ability to do what they want to policy holders.
I highly advise everyone to contact the WA Sate legislature and speak out against the reversal of allowing insurance companies to base rates on credit. By allowing this to happen it will only backfire and cause low income, the disabled, minorities or those who may have suffered a setback from a loss of a job, illness ect to have even more of a burden to carry. Speak out. Below are the reasons why I believe allowing credit based insurance is a bad idea. Many consumer advocacy groups argue that using a person's credit score to determine homeowners insurance premiums is unfair and can have negative consequences.
Here are some arguments raised against this practice:
Disproportionate Impact: Credit scoring in insurance has been criticized for disproportionately affecting low-income individuals, minorities, and those who may have experienced financial setbacks due to unforeseen circumstances like medical debt or job loss.Lack of Direct Correlation: Critics argue there isn't a direct causal relationship between a person's credit score and their likelihood of filing an insurance claim. They question whether a lower credit score automatically equates to a higher risk of home damage or other insurable events.
Exacerbating Financial Hardship: Homeowners with lower credit scores may already face higher mortgage rates, and charging them higher insurance premiums on top of that could further strain their finances, potentially making it harder to afford and maintain their homes.
Lack of Transparency: The specific formulas used to calculate credit-based insurance scores are often proprietary and not publicly disclosed, making it difficult for consumers to understand how their rates are determined and challenge potential inaccuracies.Potential for Errors in Credit Reports: Credit reports can contain errors, and using potentially inaccurate data to set insurance premiums can lead to unfair rates for consumers.

Allstate is the worst possible when it comes to claims. Recently filed a claim for Hail Damage. On the first visit, the adjuster decided to show up earlier than expected so that my roofer could not meet up with them. Then they denied any damage. We requested for a second adjuster. This time the roofer met the adjuster and showed them all of the damage with pictures. This time they agreed that there was damage but only partial. We tried to escalate for Engineering Appraisal, they flatly denied entertain anything further.

We had a hailstorm in the spring which busted one of my windows, dented a metal patio cover, and damaged my roof. However Allstate refuses to acknowledge any damage to my roof after two inspections even though 6 out of 10 on my next door neighbors, who don’t have Allstate, were approved for new roofs automatically. Not sure how hail dented a metal patio cover but not a shingled roof.

Bases on my experience, my recommendation is to avoid Allstate home insurance at all cost. They did not cover the damages to my roof, fence and gutters despite the damage being extensive according to my contractor. My deductible was 5000 and according to their team the cost for the extensive damage is 4900, just a 100 dollars short of the deductible. Avoid Allstate home insurance at all cost.

Worst homeowners insurance policy I HAVE EVER HAD. I had a ice dam on my roof. It caused water damage to the interior and exterior wall. Due to the length of time it took for them to get out to assess, mold had grown in the wall. They low-balled my work to where no contractor would take the work. I had to borrow 7,000 from my retirement to get the work done. There was 10,000 in damages and Allstate had the audacity to only cover 3200.00 and then subtract my deductible. You do the math, this company screwed me and put me in a hard place. Talked to 3 other people who had Allstate, said the exact same thing and dropped them just like I did.

We had a hailstorm on 4/10/2025. On 4/11/2025, there were drones flying over my subdivision. On 4/15,2025, I submitted a claim for my roof. This subdivision is upscale, so the roofs are fairly large and they can have a lot of peaks and valleys. Allstate sent out an adjuster to meet with my roofer, along with a public advocate. Miracles do happen. Of all the homes close by, my home was spared. They noticed some tiny dings on the vents, etc., but not worth talking about. In fact, the total was $55.00 less than my deductible. I asked for a new inspection when I noticed some damage to the interior. Same result.
In the meantime, a home 4 houses up from me got a new roof. He is also an Allstate client. His roof was last replaced in 2006 (same as mine). I have been an Allstate client for 29 years and have more than paid for a new roof through my high premiums over that time. Apparently, there is a "Wheel of Fortune" at their offices. If it spins and you are lucky to hit the one section that grants payment, good for you. The rest of the wheel says, "Maybe next time".

I have been an Allstate customer for 14 years. My home was damaged around the end of April 2025. The adjuster came out and informed me that the restoration company would cost around $3,000, but the final estimate ended up being about $6,500. This restoration company is an Allstate vendor. I was told that I could use any contractor for the job, but every contractor that provided an estimate had their figures challenged by the adjuster, as they did not match the vendor's paperwork. The adjuster mentioned that when I submitted an estimate, he would negotiate the price with the vendor. However, instead of doing that, he keeps insisting that I need to submit another estimate or show how the funds will be allocated, which is already outlined in the estimate. I've been going back and forth with the adjuster to try to get my damages fixed, but there always seems to be an issue.
He wants me to use Allstate vendors, which will cost significantly more than the small business contractors I've consulted. I am reluctant to do this because it means I will have to pay more in the long run. I don't understand why he keeps pushing Allstate vendors on me, especially since he claimed he would approve it without a problem. Something doesn't feel right about this situation. The adjuster also insists that I need a whole-house pack-out, which can be very expensive. It's been nearly two months, and there's still no progress. I will be canceling my insurance with Allstate because they are not taking care of their customers. I strongly recommend finding another insurance company and avoiding Allstate. They are quick to take your money but leave you stranded when it's time to repair.

While Allstate makes record profits ($4.6 Billion in 2024) & CEO Tom Wilson makes $26 Million/year... They find ways to cheat their customers… double claims, low-ball estimates, pulling coverage, dropping coverage, etc.… They made me submit a new claim on top of an existing open claim for the same soft clog water backup, despite me expressing concern of being dropped for 'too many claims'. The repairs had not even started yet. They insisted that this was their process and I would not be dropped. About a month later, I receive a letter of nonrenewal for too many claims. This was very deceitful & unethical. I now pay almost 3x the premium through a local broker due to my claims history. After over 20 years of being a loyal customer, with auto, home, and landlord policies, & always pay my premiums, this is how I get treated. Two days later we received an email stating our house had received an “unacceptable rating” because in a picture we had submitted, Allstate saw “siding damage”. We were told to contact an agent, which we did via phone, but he just gave us the runaround, and had no more information than we did. There was no information identifying what “damage” they were referring to or what they wanted us to do to “fix” it. The agent had no answers, and said we would need to submit pictures of the area after it was fixed… but “fix” what? Of course in order for us to cancel it will take 10 days for them to refund our money. Disgusted with this company.
