    Every time they come to serve our neighbors that are customers they walk around and hand out flyers and knock on doors. This is unethical and places their employees in uncomfortable situations. Especially in scenarios where it is clearly posted that the neighborhood does not want solicitors. I have called repeatedly and asked them to come back out and pick up the flyers that were left but they do not comply with my request.

    So they came out and the guy was nice and on time and very thorough. Also all of the weeds in the front are pretty much gone. That's it for the good news. Bad news is my lawn is also dead and they refuse to fix it. I had called them and contacted them via Facebook and each time they said that because I'm not a continued customer but there's nothing they can do. My entire lawn front and back is dead. The only thing that survived was Poe Anna - I know I spelled that wrong but oh well.

    I have not be happy with the service provided by TruGreen. In fact, I want a refund. During the spring, summer, and fall, my lawn remained a pail anemic green. It is now February, and my Bermuda grass has been dormant since early November. Since November, weeds have proliferated to the extent that roughly 1/3 of my lawn is covered in weeds.

    Two weeks ago, TruGreen treated my lawn as part of the service plan (I had called 2 weeks prior requesting service due to weeds). I was charged and the technician stated that I should cut my lawn! Let me repeat, I have Bermuda grass, it has been dormant since November, anything and everything growing in my lawn is a weed!!! So, now I must cut the weeds that TruGreen failed to control. Neighbors have told me to fire this company and treat my lawn with Lesco products. In fact, I think TruGreen should purchase Lesco products for me instead of using whatever watery product that passes for their treatment. Extremely disappointed customer.

    After several months and several hundred dollars paid, I have more weeds than before they started and no improvement in the color or health of my lawn. I was actually sent a survey which I honestly filled out, then received a call from someone who was supposed to correct my billing as I was being charged more than I was quoted, and was promised they would send out a manager to see why their applications weren't working. Today I received a voicemail from someone who went to my yard and measured telling me that they were charging the minimum based on the size of my lawn and there was nothing they could do. Nothing was checked to see why their treatments weren't working, they just wanted to justify over charging me. I just called and cancelled the service. The lawn actually looked better when I was just putting down Turfbuilder myself. Don't waste your money.

    I called to ask about treating my crabapple tree for scab and my blue spruce for fungus. I was told they don't treat fruit trees. I was told about a 7 visit program which included oil, fertilizer, three antifungal treatments followed by additional visits in the Fall. I reminded him that I am just interested in treating fungus. He quoted me $167 for just the three antifungal treatments but then again brought up fertilizer, what he could do for my lawn etc. When I tried to hang up, he compared treating trees to treating suicidal patients, saying treatment consisted of multiple appointments. I work in psychiatry and found this to be insensitive. I currently have a tree service that comes twice a year and treats both trees, but I wanted a company closer to my home. I'm not sure where their Michigan offices are, but the guy I was speaking to was working from out of state. For $130 cheaper, I get both trees serviced in only two visits. No thank you.

    I signed up for TruGreen's lawn service last Spring. After a few treatments I called to complain about the condition of my lawn. I also told them that I had a mole issue. They said the lawn need some more treatments and convinced me to get a treatment for grubs to get rid of the moles. I spoke to the lawn treatment guy when he came out. He told me that some of his coworkers were notorious for not actually treating lawns. After a few more treatments my lawn was as bad as it had ever been and the moles were still destroying the lawn. We checked our security footage and realized that our treatments took less than 5 minutes. My husband called to complain and was told that they would never say grub treatment was to get rid of moles. That is when we started to understand how unscrupulous the entire organization was.

    After a couple of calls Matt finally relented to process a credit for all of our previous billings and to cancel our service. After a few more calls to Matt he actually issued the credit. But they continued to schedule service and bill my credit card. I called numerous times but they kept coming. I had to report them to my credit card and deny payment. Then they started sending me bills. Now they have reported me to collections. It's a nightmare.

    I signed up for lawn and sprinkler system service less than a week ago. I was sent approx. 4 confirmation emails. One stating my cc payment didn't go through. I called and was told by customer service that I needed to call my cc company. I called and they said TruGreen entered the incorrect expiration date. Another call to TruGreen to get it corrected. My cc transaction sheet now has 2 charges, 1 pending, almost doubling the initial price. I called TruGreen billing dept and excuses were made by Amber. I requested to speak to a supervisor. She said one was not available today. When I got adamant she fumbled with the phone and then told me her supervisor said blah, blah. When I confronted her saying that a supervisor wasn't available more blah, blah, blah. I hung up. Also, their computer system stays down a good amount of time, day after day. When I brought this to the attention of a tech s/he responded flat out, "Yeah, it's **."

    I recently started back up with TruGreen after stopping service some years back. Everything was fine in the beginning, and then all hell broke loose. I agreed to have seeding and fertilizing, and Aerating. It cost over $800.00, I was told that I could make payments, and that I have, now they are literally sending me collection notices, even after I have made all payments to date as agreed. Greedy liars is what they are... FYI I have called them numerous times regarding this problem. Each person tells me they are recording in notes to suspend collections as long as payments are made.

    Living in Las Vegas I have desert landscaping which consists primarily of rocks with trees and bushes and no grass. My need is for weed control that tends to grow in the rocks and around the bushes. Whenever they spray when I’m not home to check on their work, they invariably do a lousy job and I end up with front and back yard full of weeds. I have to call them to come respray. The only consolation is that there’s no charge for the respray, but if the job was done right the first time a respray wouldn’t be necessary. One time I had to have the respray twice because I wasn’t home the first two times to monitor the technician’s work. For them to get the job done right I have to follow the technician around when he’s spraying and point out areas and weeds that he’s missing. The chemicals they use are effective on killing the weeds. It’s the technicians that aren’t unless you monitor them.

    I have decided to take care of my own lawn for environmental reasons and I like to work outside. I also have a dog who goes nuts when people come in our fence, so I want to cut down on those episodes. I was perfectly satisfied with the TruGreen service until I cancelled them. I now feel like I have left a cult that won't stop pursuing me - I have asked them several times to stop calling me and they still call to try to get me back. They even argue with me when I ask them firmly to stop calling me. I don't answer my phone anymore because of TruGreen.

    For the past several years I have had the TruGreen people apply their chemicals to my lawn in hope they could make my lawn look close to the lawn in their TV advertisement. My lawn’s problem has been a combination of crabgrass and spurge. Over three or four years the technicians at my local TruGreen office have repeatedly told me that they would address those weed issues and get me to that great lawn condition I have been paying them for.

    Just so you know, the first application of crabgrass killer needs to go down very early in the spring as these pesky weeds need to be eliminated with a pre-emergent weed killer; if you don’t treat for crabgrass early any subsequent summertime chemical attempt to kill them ends up killing the lawn grass. TruGreen failed to treat early once again. After I complained again they came out and dosed my lawn with weed killer, and killed about a third of my grass. They promised to reseed my lawn in the fall, but never showed up to do so. I cancelled once again.

    Well, and last week someone from a southern customer service line called to ask why I had cancelled. When I explained my really bad experience to the person on the phone I was told they would have the local Manager give me a call to see if they could make this right. Today a lady called and informed me she was from the local service office and that the on-site manager did not make those sorts of dissatisfied customer calls, and that I needed to deal with her. I told her I was through with TruGreen, and that I was going to make this online post as I felt it very important to let the consuming public know of my completely unsatisfactory experience.

    Let me state that I am sure if TruGreen treated every customer as they have treated me they would no longer be in business; it is impossible they are this bad in every office. However, based upon how I was handled I am totally unsatisfied and feel the local office has completely failed not only to treat my lawn, but the local manager has miserably failed to treat me with any level of customer concern, as demonstrated by his unwillingness to not even speak with me on the phone. If you use TruGreen for lawn care be vigilant and be ready to toss them overboard if they fail to do as promised. Treat for weed early if you hope to have success, and if the service you hire doesn’t show up early in the spring fire them and find another service. Good luck with your lawn.

    I had had TruGreen for several years without problems but then a few years ago things started going downhill here in Pembroke Pines, FL. Granular fertilizer for my palms would get into my pool during service which would then create stain spots. I showed one of the service personnel an area on our patio not to spray for mosquitos due to it being a Monarch butterfly life cycle area. Within a few minutes that area was being sprayed resulting in every caterpillar being destroyed. TruGreen did say “Sorry” to both events and offered some compensation but the events should never of happened in the first place. We parted ways except go Ficus “drenching” which has been hit or miss.

    Nine days ago I contacted TruGreen for my semi-annual Ficus drenching and was told someone would be out in a few days and would call before coming out to perform the service as I had requested since I wanted to be at home when it was being done. Seven days later with no call or service I contacted TruGreen only to find out that the promised service had been canceled. No one had bothered to inform me! I then set up for a new “drenching” and was told it be accomplished the next day and that I would get a call as to the time it would be done.

    I cleared my calendar so I could be present for the service. With no call by 10:30 the following day I called TruGreen and was informed the service would now be accomplished four days hence. The lack of customer service out of the local office is truly appalling. As I read customer reviews the thing that seems to stand out the most is the poor service by this company. I realize that, statistically, poor reviews are written much more often than good ones but the one I have been reading seem to continue to revolve around this same basic theme of “poor service”.

    I was originally quoted $1700 to do a lawn aeration on a vacant 2 acre property in Okeechobee I own. I told the woman to stop doing drugs. Then a few days later, a man from TruGreen called back and said he could do it for $460 (What a discount). They collect in advance so I paid with my credit card. This was back on 2/1/19 about 2 weeks ago! I never heard from them when they would come out to do the job even after calling 3 times. All I ever get when I call was "you will get a text message a day before they are doing the service." I was actually told it would take 5-10 days to schedule the service. (A car can be build quicker!). I called for a third time today, but they never kept their word. No call, no text, no service... They stole my money!

    They offer me a deal. Every month they will came and treat my grass but it never never help my grass. That told me I will have to wait another year. They ask me to wait another year but the same. My grass didn't get any greener it just lost the green color and I paid them I called them. No one help me over there...

    I am giving TruGreen a ONE STAR rating, because it doesn't allow me to give them NONE. I walked our one acre lot with the salesman and was given a price to take care of our yard. Then when they came to service the yard, the techs (if you can call them that) only did less than 10,000 sq ft, and were done within 15 minutes of arrival, never having treated our entire yard. OMG, our lawn looked terrible, and they had burned part of what they did treat!!

    I called and complained. To no avail. I cancelled service and asked for a refund. We did receive a partial refund. However, the week after we cancelled, a truck pulled up to "treat" our lawn. I told them NO, I had cancelled them. Their left hand has no idea what their right hand is doing. To this day I am continuing to receive notices, phone calls and mailings asking us to sign with them. I went from attempting to be polite, to telling them NO, I would not re-sign with them EVER, would not recommend them EVER, and to please take us off their mailing and calling list. We still receive them.

    I'm pretty patient. This is close to the worst service I've ever received. I've been with them since October 2018 (~4 months from today), and each time they were supposed to come out to perform the TruHealth service, something has gone wrong. Furthermore, every time I call to request to get the problems fixed, their management is very poor to respond. For example, yesterday the technician came out to perform the routine service (spray for weeds, etc.), but per my cameras only performed 1/4 of the job. Half of the front yard was sprayed. They never entered the back yard. I called and was advised that I was on record for only receiving 1/2 yard service. WHY would anyone only get half of their yard treated?

    I contacted the local office, and the kind woman on the phone apologized for the inconvenience and stated my yard was incorrectly documented in their system - and that she was messaging the technician to come back out to finish the whole yard by the end of the day. To my (lack of) surprise, they never showed up and sent me an invoice at 6:45 pm - basically acknowledging that contrary to my concerns, that in their mind - the job was finished. This 1/2 yard business further makes zero sense because they were hired to put lawn plugs in my back yard - and had treated those the month prior. It's a flaky service - they basically show up and put a bill on your front door while doing minimal work.

    In Summary: Pros: the mobile app is nice, alerts when they're (supposed) to show up; billing is pretty straight forward. Cons: poor service, untrustworthy (cannot rely on them to get the job done without adult supervision). Recommendation: maybe good to kill off lawn pests, but definitely would not recommend for recurring lawn maintenance. Find someone else for your wallet's sake! Maybe this is just a reflection of this local Oldsmar, FL office, but a poor experience with TruGreen in my opinion.

    I used this company in 2016 or 2017, I got some results but not my money's worth. They seeded the backyard that first year and NOTHING HAPPENED. Their weed killing chemicals are a joke. The grass growing in my front yard looks more like crawling weeds. So in 2028 I thought to try them... Something looks like it's trying to come up in my yard...we will see if it survives.

    My concerns continue when I look at my bill. I see 2 charges. I have no idea what they are charging me for on 12/7 and 12/17. They talk you into stuff you probably don't need. I tried to make a payment but the automatic system would not allow me to pay it. I tried to pay $100, but it would not allow me... Okay I owe $260, I should be able to make a payment. I was told that I would, now I get PAST DUE notice and threats. I will try to pay something online or just mail partial payment. OF COURSE I WILL BE CANCELLING THIS GREEDY COMPANY. DO IT YOURSELF FOLKS, BUYER BEWARE!

    I do not recommend getting their service. I had their service for a full year only because I prepaid. I had issues and requested a manager to come and reassess because my grass started to look worse. Poor customer service and didn't help but actually made my grass look worse than before.

    I hired TruGreen to come to my house to spray my lawn for excessive weeds. They only did around the house and never sprayed down the driveway like they said they would. After the first visit, I had to call TruGreen back as I was told 35 - 45 days I would see the weeds die off. Well they didn't die off. They came back to spray again and still the same issue. I finally pulled the weeds out as they were growing very tall and multiplying. I had an incident where my plant was sprayed and half the plant died. I sent pictures to the Manager and they said they would use these pictures as a training example for their service people.

    End of my contract is here and TruGreen comes and sprays the lawn and then sends me a bill for the service. I called and there was a credit put to my account for the amount less 0.01 cent. I had to send another email to have them adjust the 0.01 cent. I started to see my lawn die in my backyard. I was told by the service tech it was because my lawn was not getting enough sun because of my trees being big & full and no sunlight was getting to the grass. Well I have been here for 6 years, never had this problem until TruGreen started lawn service to kill the weeds.

    I have had 2 landscape companies over to my location as all I have is dirt now in the backyard, and spotty lawn in some areas. I have been told by both landscapers that my lawn was burnt by the chemicals that were sprayed. It was over-sprayed which killed the lawn. I was also told that it had nothing to do with the trees being big and full and no sunlight getting in as there was filtered sunlight. Since I did not take before pictures, there is not too much I can do except hire a landscaping company to come in and replant my lawn which is not going to be inexpensive since it is close to 1 acre of land. I did get an email asking me to prepay for this upcoming season, and responded to cancel my service, take my name off their list and the reason why. I have not heard anything from TruGreen.

    I called them to cancel everything but after 2 months, they still come and do their service without my knowledge, when I contacted customer service they told me I only cancel the mosquito only while I said cancel everything, also after 3 treatment for around $150 my lawn look like trash, say goodbye forever to TruGreen.

    In the beginning as a new customer was not told that service would only be for nine mos. Paid for a year but did not receive the service requested. Was not told that my bill would be recurring once the year was up. Got a bill of 51.00 that I don't owe. Very disappointed with truly thought this company was legitimate and credible.

    I had some TruGreen sales reps come to my house and after seeing my yard said they could take care of the weeds and that in 30 days or less I would see a significant improvement. That I would be "hosting bbq's" at the 30 day mark. And quoted me something like $40 for the first treatment and then $60 from there on out.

    I took them at their word and signed up for their service. They also told me when I signed up that on the first visit I didn't have to be home to just mark what I wanted with Orange flagging tape (which I did). Well the day of the first appointment came up and I get a notice on my phone via the app that I was skipped (due to not being home). I called and they had the service tech call me and he came back to the house.

    He did the job and again told me I should see improvements within 30-45 days. That anything knee high roughly or under would die and then blow away and anything above roughly knee high I would have to pull. After about 35 days the weeds that were not dead had died but showed no signs of doing what he said, but I let it go, I started to pull the weeds at where at my knees and higher as told. At the 40 day mark nothing else had changed so I called them and they sent someone else out.

    When he got here the weather would not let him proceed with the service and he got it put back on the schedule. The next lady that came out did a treatment and again told me in 30-45 days I would see improvement. So I waited again about 35 days after the service nothing was changing. By this time it was time for my next regular service anyway so they came out, did the service again, and again I waited, while waiting I received a bill for $102.42 which is nowhere near the price quoted.

    I called them and pretty much got a oh well attitude and that they wouldn't do it for that price. Well I waited to see if there would be any improvements and there was not at 45 days in. I cancelled the service and for the cost of a refill of my propane tank took a propane torch and had it cleared in a few hours. I would not recommend their services to my worst enemy.

    Last year one of your techs came and sprayed our yard. He also sprayed our plants along the back side of our fence. This killed all nineteen of our plants. A branch manager came out and agreed with us that the plants were dead. Since it was in the middle of the summer he said they would wait until October to replace the plants. I called in September to find out when the plants would be replaced. No one knew nothing. So I talked with another manager and he came out. He said some of the plants were dead and them spaying the plants had nothing to do with them dying. We argued for a little bit.

    Now remember we were told by one manager that they would replace them. So the manager said he would send a tech out and give us his opinion. Same deal. They both said they would follow up with us. Well here it is January and no word from anyone. It's amazing how a company like this is so willing to take our money but not have any regard for the customer. I'm not complaining about the lawn service. We were happy with it. Of course I'm sure we won't get a response from this email either. We just want new plants or our money back for our plants.

    Last year I paid $174.87 for 7 treatments for my front yard only... Did not need my back yard or the sides which are rocked. I thought $25 was a fair price for the small area they had to service since they did the yard across the street and the yard on one side of my house... Both of which I recommended to TruGreen. This year they tell me it is a minimum charge of $50 something, but they will let me have it for $35 which is still $245 yearly. That is not only way too much of an increase but also too high for such a small area when they do the house across the street... I will be talking to my neighbors also since I recommended TruGreen.

    I am a customer from Harrisburg PA. I had Scotts LawnService for several years and was very happy with their service and results. TruGreen bought them out and I continued my service. What a mistake. I had a contractor who was at my house every day and as I helped him during the daytime and worked my normal job at night I was also witness to the nonservice I received. With Scotts I had yard markers and a paper at my door describing treatments and observations. With TruGreen this may have occurred twice in one season and yet I got billed for full service. There was a truck in my yard every day. We moved it twice for service. After many phone calls describing my situation I was always assured the matter would be taken care of. What a joke. I told Zach a lawn care specialist who knew my problem and he assured me he would take care of the problem. Nonsense.

    I again called and told them not to step on my property again since I felt robbed for payment of nonservice as well as their results which were understandably terrible. I got a new lawn service company and yet the next season someone from TruGreen knocked on my door to let me know they were going to perform a treatment. I invited the man inside and again detailed my experience with him. He told me this was called ghosting. Where they no showed but still charged. He called his boss, apologized and said it would be taken care of. Meanwhile his partner had treated my yard, which my new company had just treated. I was told the service would be free. No kidding.

    The company states if you are not happy they will re-treat your lawn at no cost. Well I received 2 maybe 3 treatments I am not happy. I paid for full service and received next to none. My new company is wonderful and guess what. After getting ripped off by TruGreen a collection agency is trying to collect from me. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Over $700 paid to this company for nothing, they will not stop coming even after repeated phone calls and one on one conversations yet their records show our communications took place. ZERO STARS is a compliment. I have never dealt with such a poorly run company.

    I witnessed a TruGreen employee, Dan **, drive a large aerating-type machine along my sidewalk. As the machine was too wide to fit, it was crushing the landscaping bricks, which were set on-pointe along the sidewalk. I spoke with the two other employees on site, who confirmed that they saw him breaking the bricks, and heard the popping sounds as they were breaking. When I called his attention to the damage, he apologized and said that he was meeting with his boss, Allen, tomorrow and that one of them would be in touch with me soon. He took my address, phone number, and photos of the broken bricks, which we counted together. The total was 10. He said, “I will definitely fix them for you.” They were his last words to me.

    Not hearing from him, I called six times over the next month, was passed to several departments, and given several different numbers to call, always repeating the story and given the assurance that someone would definitely call me back. No one ever did until I threatened to report it to the BBB. Then the manager called within an hour to state that they have no responsibility for any damage and that an unidentified neighbor had said that Dan didn’t break any bricks. The neighbors for whom TruGreen was working deny exonerating the landscaper, as they were not even home at the time. I tried to file a formal complaint against them with the BBB, but they are unwilling to accept any complaints against those who have paid for a good rating. Innocent consumers need to be warned by others who have suffered at the hands of TruGreen’s less-than-honorable business practices.

    On April 24th 2018, a man came to my front door offering TruGreen services. I gave him a glass of water and we sat on my bench and discussed the prospect. I acquiesced to a single initial treatment to try the service out, because the salesperson promised that two treatments, one for weeds and another to protect my fruit trees against bugs and fungus would cost me $40. It took them at least 3-5 attempts before they finally got the initial application done, because I only hired them to treat my backyard, which is locked with a padlock. So despite coming time and again and treating just the front yard for weeds, they couldn't accomplish the treatment that I really hired them to perform. Finally I called in again on May 3rd to explain that issue and on May 8th we finally connected and I let them in to complete the job in the backyard.

    On May 15th I called to cancel. The woman with whom I spoke argued with me so much, and was so difficult to deal with, and I told her time after time that: I didn't want to pay any more and that I wanted to cancel and that no more charges should accrue and that I only wanted it for my backyard but that it's too difficult to provide them the necessary access to perform the task. My clear understanding of the way things were left after that call was that they could absolutely NOT treat my property without my express permission in advance. She ultimately ignored my request to cancel altogether, because at some point in October I was alerted to ongoing charges on my account - despite never letting anyone into my backyard to treat it.

    Therefore on Nov 1st I called in explaining that I only ever authorized a single treatment. Nevertheless I kept receiving post-due bills. So I called back in again on Dec 3rd to complain about erroneous charges on my account, and explained that: these charges were not authorized, and that I don't consider them valid, and that they were performed without my permission on a part of the home that I didn't care about at all.

    Now, on January 18th, 2019, I'm being THREATENED BY A COLLECTIONS AGENCY called Transworld Systems, Inc., on behalf of TruGreen, now jeopardizing my credit to recoup the $74+ that they racked up on my account after I cancelled, purportedly applying treatments that I did not authorize, to a part of the home that I explicitly wouldn't pay for, after being misquoted the price and after all of this back-and-forth dialogue.

    Many of the dates in this account had to be retrieved from the company's records, which, among other things, don't reflect the many times they came out to treat my yard unsuccessfully because they missed me and thus couldn't gain access to the backyard. It's frustrating that I am expected to maintain such rigorous records of my dealings with a vendor because they can't be trusted to record things faithfully and to tell the truth. I would hire ANY local provider over this firm - you'll be better off in the long run no matter what, plus you'll be helping the local economy instead of making one of the 1% even richer. Caveat Emptor!

    In the years we've worked with TruGreen, we have yet to get grass. They will send someone out ONLY after multiple phone calls, sometimes taking months to get in touch with someone. They charged us for a service we told them not to do, and it took 6 months to 1. Get anyone to call us back 2. Give us a refund (which they would only agree to 1/2). Please do not waste your time & money with this company - you will regret it. Read other reviews- from what I've seen, I'm certainly not the only one who's had such a terrible experience!

    I was writing with no star as this is a requirement to select at least 1 star. Everyone Consider no star for my review. I was customer more than 5 years and since 3 year I am not with TruGreen. Yesterday I got a call that want to make me happy again. They will give me special price. The person he called and kept pushing me and from 440 to bring down 295. I decided to get in writing as a email for all services and total price he change to higher price. Untrusted, non professional behavior, No commitment, I canceled deal and the person said, "OK no worries." If any one has money to put in garbage take their services. Reason I left this company their technician jumped in my backyard and left open.

    Wouldn’t it be great if we lived in a perfect world and you received the service you paid for. I’ve had Trugreen for several years. 2018 was the worst of all the years I’ve had them. I expect some consultation on my lawn when it looks as bad as it did. Unfortunately I never received it. With the Internet I find I have Brown Patch Fungus in my lawn. I call Trugreen to complain, especially seeing as I paid for the service to treat for Brown Patch. The technician comes out and does another treatment of fertilization.

    Again I go to the Internet. I read that too much fertilizing causes the Brown Patch to be worse. They keep coming out and fertilizing the lawn and not addressing the Brown Patch. They supposedly treat for weeds. When their sales manager came to look at my lawn this week you still see the weeds growing. When I had them aerate and overseed my lawn it looks like they did it in an S shape. They tore up the lawn and never repaired it. I’m through with Trugreen. When you pay a company over a $1000 a year, you expect to receive better treatment. How unfortunate they have such poor service.

    I've had TruGreen service at my past three homes. My previous two homes were new with new sod so I really had nothing to compare it to as it really always looked good. My last home purchase was an older home with very little real grass. Many bare spots and insects. Fast forward 15 months and the yard has no bare patches and is much greener. It was so gradual I didn't really appreciate how good it looked until I saw pictures of my house before and after a remodel. Huge difference! My yard is not perfect and I don't expect it to be considering how poorly maintained it was. It does take a little time. And though TruGreen won't say it (I will) you can't cut your lawn too short, not water it, have standing water or basically abuse your yard and expect miracles. I give TruGreen a solid 9.5 out of 10.

    If you do not want to throw the money in the trash, do not buy any service in this company. Buy this service in August 2018 from then sent to 5 or 6 technicians (according to it). The service they do literally 5 minutes. After 6 months my Grass is horrible. Call to complain and they promised to send me another technician, because all the previous ones give you recommendations totally different from the last technician and they tell you that technician is new in this job. He does not know what he says. They told me a date three days after 1.00pm to 7.00pm. The whole weekend was spent sending text to remember the appointment.

    The day arrived and I was waiting all day for the said appointment and never arrived. At 8.00 pm they called me apologizing for not being able to come to the appointment and to plan for another day. In that same moment I chase all the services with this scam company that the only thing that they use are chemicals and at the end of the day they end up with your patio. I give a star because there is no option to give it -5.

    I had my son's hockey equipment laid out in the backyard drying in the son when TruGreen came to fertilize the grass. They paid no regard to the equipment and destroyed about $200 worth of gear that had to be replaced. When I called to complain they denied responsibility and offered no restitution. I canceled the account and refused to pay the balance. Didn't hear anything further until over 4 years later when I received a call from a debt collector. I would not recommend their service to anyone!

    I requested service for my trees and scrubs (5 treatments @ $59.95) in addition to the other services for my lawn. No one ever showed to treat my trees and scrubs. I found out that they went to the wrong house and I was billed for a treatment that I never received. I called TruGreen and explained the situation but was told that I could not receive a credit. I called at least three more times, but was told again and again that they could not issue a credit.

    I finally told them to cancel ALL services including service for 2019. I spend approx. $2,000.00 yearly with TruGreen (my personal home plus four rental homes). I have now contracted with a local company for 2019 for the same services. This lawn service has an actual office that I can walk in and communicate with. In summary, TruGreen lost my business over $59.95. The national toll free number is useless, they "bounced" me around for two months. Go with a local service, not with someone located out of state!

    I had TruGreen for a year and I paid in full. They did the aeration next day after heavy rain and messed up my front and back yard very badly. I contacted them with pictures and details but no one came to visit and resolved anything. Once the next renewal came I spoke the salesman and he gave me credit for the whole year of the services. TG was doing the services and were sending me the bills even though I had a full year of credit so I was calling them every time when I was getting the bill and they were removing it after long discussions. At some point I stopped calling them as I was very upset and the salesperson should have put the credit in the system. Last month I got a letter from the collection agency for all the services they made. I am really very mad but no point wasting time on them but to pay the collection agencies as I don't want to mess up my credit score. Don't use this company as these people don't want to resolve anything.

    I started to use TruGreen in Aug 2017 for my lawn care. I purchased a one-year service plan which includes 7 treatment upon a phone commercial. They did 4 services in 2017 which was ok in general. On Feb 3rd 2018, I noticed my lawn started to grow a lot weeds, and it`s getting worse day by day. I called the customer service and was told they will send someone to check my lawn, nobody showed up as of Feb 22 and I had to file a survey on TruGreen website to get some attention. I was contacted by email and provided my cell phone number, was told a technician will call me. Again, nobody calls...

    On Mar 5, I filed another complaint to them and was told technician has already treated my lawn... My wife is home all day and never saw anyone came or knocked the door, neither did I receive any call from them. 2 weeks later, the weeds is growing crazy and I had to call them again, this time I was told they applied the wrong product (for Fescue) on my lawn (Bermuda), and they will come back again, and they never came back. At this point, I was so frustrated and I called them to cancel the service, however I was told by the customer service person they could not refund my prepaid balance (part of one year package), and they will offer me a free treatment for compensation. I accepted and then I told them please stop my service after this one year package ends. So here is the dramatic part, on July 30, they did the 8th lawn treatment (supposed to be the free one they gave me as compensation) and sent me a bill.

    I called them asking why they billed me, and was told, my purchased plan has been done and they automatically continue the service... I told them 2 things: one was that I did cancel the service in my last call, two was that even if they did this treatment, it`s the free treatment they offered as compensation of my weeds problem they`ve caused by using wrong product. The sad part is the service rep insisted they never received my request to cancel the service and I have to pay for it. I refused in the call and ask to speak with a supervisor, which as you can imagine never occurred. Since then, I kept being bothered by tons of calls (3 in week).

    Their salesperson to ask me renew the service and service person to argue I need to pay for the treatment. They automatically continued for me without my consent. In order to avoid these annoying calls, I did patiently spoke in 2 calls with their reps to explain the background it`s their issue and they should stop bothering me by asking me to pay for the lawn treatment without my consent. This never worked. Since Oct this year, I started to receive mail and calls from their debt collector. This has been a nightmare and I wasted too much time to deal with these calls. This situation still continues, and I just want to share my experience dealing with TruGreen and hope you will not end up like me by using TruGreen.

    After several years of working with them I cancelled all services. Beware when dealing with them of services you no longer want, call in and cancel, and they still come out and perform these services. Mosquito service is the big one. They get you for $75/month. I cancelled in 2017 and they still came out in 2018 and charged me for it. They never have any records of you calling in to cancel services. Just stay away from these people. And my lawn looks the worse it ever has looked.

    I have been getting my lawn done by TruGreen for five years. After the first year the lawn was not much better. I told them and they said it needed to be aerated and seeded. I did that for several years and then the lawn started going downhill. I would walk around the lawn and see where they were stopping about half way up the hill of my property. I never knew why and had to tell them several times that they were doing that.

    I finally figured out why and it was several fold. I worked from home during the last several years and every time they came it was a different person. I had to go out and explain to them where the boundaries were with neighbors. If I didn't go out then the person would do maybe a third of the lawn or go over the neighbors lawn and do his. This is not a small lawn so that probably wasted a bunch of lawn supplies for them but they did not seem to care. Although, my neighbor did. So I had to be home for every application. Also, they would sometimes leave piles of product in one place and it would kill the lawn. When I called they would do nothing about it.

    During all this time things were being added onto my account. I kept trying to remove them but the web site only allows you to say what you will not pay for, not what you want removed. You can not easily call the company and explain this to them because you get pushed off to a rep that continually says they want your business and does not take no for an answer. The straw that broke the camels back was that they came over to aerate and not only tore up my lawn but also proceeded to tear up my neighbors lawn AND his garden. I got home and my neighbor brought me up to the top of his lawn and was very mad.

    I called them the corporate offices for several weeks and they kept giving me the run around about telling the "local office" but no one had ever called my neighbor to fix it. I asked them to have the "local office" call me to inform me when they have called the neighbor. I got a call a couple of days later that it was "being taken care of" and that they had talked to my neighbor. The neighbor came over two weeks later mad because nothing had been done yet and no one had called. I did not know this and thought everything was being taken care of because of the phone call I got. I finally got the corporate office to call my neighbor and then had them call me and I checked this time (probably should have checked with the neighbor the last time). The corporate office said that while they called him it did not mean much because, again, the "local office" would still have to get together with him.

    After two more weeks the "local office" still had not called him. I called the corporate office yet again they said the "local office" would call him. I asked my neighbor before the snow started flying if anything had been done and he still said nothing had been done and no one had called him. Not only that but the "local office" ended up calling me again and told me that my neighbor was a corporate customer and because of that they could not tell me what they were doing to "fix the issue". I was asked by the "local office" to stop asking corporate to have them call me because the issue was being taken care of.

    My neighbor is not a corporate or private customer so at that point I knew that the "local office" was not reliable. I am still trying to remove the service because I have had it with the company but the web site does not give you a way to do so and unless you are home during the "phone call" they do not cancel your service. Here I am with a service I cannot seem to cancel and a company that comes no matter and then sends you the bill even though they do not do the service correctly. Hopefully my latest try to cancel will be better but I am reviewing them so that others do not have the same problem. Please beware.

    Very bad experience. According the company service of spray is front and backyard. July and August service guy make wrong spray in front lawn and my whole front lawn burn and backyard was good because no one did spray in backyard. I call the company after one month. They send the lawn expert. Lawn expert had the same review.

Doesn't matter wrong or right spray you should pay for service. This is not fair. This is very bad experience. First you give wrong service and not full, and damage the lawn and charge the full service.

    I had purchased the lawn care and tree and shrub service for my yard. I had weed issues all year long and they did come out several times to try and kill weeds but it never worked. An inspector came over several times telling me I needed more services and tree and shrub service which I already had. I feel like that was a complete waste of money. The overseed and aeration I paid for was done by a new person and they just dropped piles of seeds all around. I disputed the bill and found out that they closed my account.     I had to call countless times to get services I signed up for and even in May wrong service provided that showed ortho but was actually lawn service and it took 3 weeks to get it right. When I look at invoices a total of 7 trips made to the house and still no idea what service was done in November.

    When I call I get apologies but bad service continues. 4 pest services to be done and didn’t start until June and then all of a sudden in early Oct. said I was finished - no reason. Called several times. Finally said would be done November 21. Received a torn piece of paper saying service was done and could see if log into account. Cannot see anything and have no idea what was done as it shows 8 lawn applications not 7 and 4 ortho applications but last date in September. So I have no idea what is going on with TruGreen and your website is useless.

However it appears that some of the lawn products they apply are not the job as efficiently or effectively as they have been told they do.     I first enrolled with a professional lawn care company two seasons ago. This locally owned, family run company did wonders for our lawn in a single season. (Shout out to Turf Masters CT...wish you were still in operation.) There were no weeds, the grass was plush and deep green. We received compliments for the first time ever. At the conclusion of the summer, we triple aerated and seeded in anticipation of an even better lawn the following season.

    The following spring my grass started coming in green and plush. And then along came TruGreen, who had acquired our wonderful lawn company. TruGreen indicated that the lawn regimen would be the same. They couldn’t be further from the truth. The quality of our lawn diminished quickly. There were weeds and crabgrass again. The lawn thinned out and had bare patches. I brought my concerns early on to a representative asking if they used the same formulas/products. I was given a vague answer and a response that the rain was causing the issue. Last time I checked when we got extra rain in summer our lawn flourished.

    I also brought up my concerns to multiple representatives from TruGreen that kept calling me all the time trying to sell me new services. One of these people actually told me that my lawn needed another season to adjust to TruGreen’s products and to trust the process, that they would give me a lawn that my kids would want to roll around on and company walk with bare feet on. ARE YOU SERIOUS??? I HAVE NEVER HEARD SUCH A LOAD OF CRAP IN MY LIFE. AND this person inadvertently confirmed my suspicions that they were using different products than our former company. Never once did a single person from TruGreen do anything to address my concerns or remediate the issues causing my dissatisfaction.

    TruGreen is also not qualified at all. A technician called me to tell me he was coming to do an application after we had abnormally persistent rain for several days. I HAD TO TELL HIM THAT HE CAN NOT APPLY PRODUCT WITH THE GROUND SO SATURATED. Why did I need to be the one to tell him??? TruGreen is supposed to be the experts here!

    What finally pushed me over the top to write this review was seeing a $164 charge for a lawn application after my account said that all of my services were done for the year. In a display of COMPLETE incompetence, product was applied to my lawn when the ground was frozen AND hours before an approaching snowstorm that the entire state was aware of. The snow might even have started when the tech was here. So here we gave product applied to frozen ground with snow covering it, meaning no saturation into the ground, runoff and potential contamination of water supply.

    I am not paying for this service and am waiting for the infamous call back from the branch manager, reading reviews on Better Business Bureau it seems that this call is a pipe dream. Hopefully this information will prevent prospective customers from wasting tons of money only to be back to square -100. I urge you to instead find a local company who you know from word of mouth is reputable. The only thing that TruGreen is expert in is BS.

    I was sent notice the day before 'weather permitting'. It had rained for three days prior, so I was surprised to see the crew parked in front of house. I asked if they thought it was too wet and soggy for the machine. They answered, "that day would be the last day to have aeration done... until next fall". I asked if they could wait a few days as the rains were over and sunny days to come. "No, today is last day". So, "ok". The machine made a mess of the wetter spots, even the firmer areas were fairly torn up. Yes, the grass was aerated, but it was 'aggressive'. With the muddy grass done, it was the driveway and street that were now tracked with red-clay mud. It was more 'clean up' than I would have liked. I do have to compliment TruGreen on taking care of the persistent weeds that previous lawn care could not kill.

    I recently signed up for service. Tree-shrub & lawn care services. I was hesitant because I use to work for TruGreen years ago and know that many of the specialists did not do a very good job or do the job at all and still hang the invoice. But I hoped here in Florida it would be different. My very first lawn service I witnessed the tech treat less than half my lawn then leave. I did the feedback and stated this information and was told someone would call me back. They never did, I eventually called my Sarasota location and told a rep. She rescheduled another treatment.

    Today a separate treatment was to be done potash treatment. I witnessed this tech on my surveillance cameras ring my door bell, go to his truck, pour fertilizer in his spreader, take three steps into my yard. Grab several handfuls of fertilizer and sling it around my flower beds to make it look like there was material put down. He then went to one side of my yard and made two passes and hung the invoice and left. Was less than 6 minutes on my lawn. Did not even do a quarter of the job.

    My neighbors seen the truck at my house the other day and ask me about the service. Unfortunately I could not give TruGreen a recommendation. I call into the office immediately while the tech was pulling away and told them what happened. Of course they apologized but two out of three of my first services I was basically ghost. Bruce the supervisor did return my call and again apologized and is sending another tech out to redo that job. I will give TruGreen just one more chance then I am canceling my services and will have to inform everyone of my experience.

    I contracted with TruGreen in July 2018. While on the phone then I asked the customer service rep about the cost of the service, and I shared the fact that I'd like service at my house as well as my daughter's. I told him that I have a larger lot and my daughter's is very small. He replied that they charge by the area and regardless of the lot size the amount is the same. He enticed me by telling me that if I prepay the price will be cheaper. The amount before discount would be $350.90, and after discount $326.33.

    I decided to go ahead and gave my credit card number to close the deal. After charging my credit card for $652.66 for both houses, I was promised that services will start soon. We, my daughter and I, were supposed to have 8 services each until the end of the year. We each only had 3 services done, with the exception of my daughter's house where we called them to come again since the service that had been done had not made an impact on her lawn. As a matter of fact the man that went to her house came the second time as per my request and under my supervision. When he got out of his truck he started yelling at me that his reputation was compromised because of my complaint that the work that had been done had not killed the weeds.

    He started telling me that I didn't know what I was saying, and got very mad and defensive when I showed him every spot that had not been sprayed the first time he came. He also told me that if the grass dies it will be on my head and not his (great customer service). I decided to overlook his behavior but complained again to the office and asked them to tell the manager to not send the same guy to my daughter's house again. There was no action taken by anyone in that office (Springfield, VA), and my daughter found out on the outside house cameras that indeed it was still the same guy that was sent out to do the job.

    I called the office I don't know how many times that I needed paperwork for each one of the accounts so that I can see how many service calls each house had. It is now mid November and I have not received any proof that services were done for either of the houses. After all the calls, and talking with some people who didn't seem to know or understand what I was looking for (they all kept saying that they are leaving a message for the manager to call me) I decided that I had enough with a company who appears not be run the way it shouldn't be, and for reps who don't have answers to questions posed by the customers.

    On November 6, 2018 I called and cancelled service at both properties and asked for a refund of the balance of services which had not been rendered at either property. I was owed money for 5 services for each house. Each service was $45.85 times 10 (missed services). This morning (11/10/2018) I received 2 emails from my bank that I received 2 credits from TruGreen. The one for my house was for $85.30 and the one for my daughter's house for $127.94, for a total of $213.24. Either someone at TruGreen doesn't know how to add and subtract, or they are plainly pocketing some of my money instead of being sorry for what is going on within this "wonderful" company and returning all the money they owe me.

    I've already written a complaint on Yelp, and I'm about to write to the BBB. Someone needs to stop the theft that I see is happening not only to me but to the other former customers of theirs that are complaining about similar issues. One last thing, while I never ever pay anything up front before work is done, I got burned this time and will never prepay anything to anyone. Oh, and the cherry on top of this entire issue is the fact that the other day I received in the mail a "tailored plan" (yes it is tailored so they can jip me out of more money) with prepay pricing for next year services and with a savings of $25.68 if I were to prepay. THEY ARE SHAMELESS!!!

    Not good! I was called by Todd and pressured into doing a winter fertilization. He told me I did it last year and that is part of my package. It is not part of my package!! I was called by their scheduling department afterwards and they told me it is not part of my package that my service is done for the year! So there we go! I’m going to quit TruGreen.     Had to come back several time to get control. They have serviced our trees all year but this is an ongoing issue. The rest of the yard seem to be doing pretty good. Aphids seem to come back quickly so it seem that they should be able to do a better job at controlling them.

    TruGreen service not true. I questioned myself on a few prior service calls to spray my lawn by the Pembroke Pines, FL service center as to whether or not the service tech was doing a complete job. Well, today the service tech came and sure enough he failed to spray my entire yard as I suspected. I was home at the time and my caged pet parrots on the patio failed to sound the intruder alarm, which signals to me that no one made any attempt to enter the backyard. The birds are extremely efficient sentries. Of course I immediately called to complain and the tech returned to complete the job. Fortunately for him I was not at home when he arrived. The point of this writing is to make customers aware of TruGreen's practice of short-changing their customers. Schedule appointments when someone will be at home to monitor their work ethics.

    TruGreen has destroyed my beautiful lawn. My yard has been established for about 15 years and has always been beautiful and healthy. I thought it would be a good idea to turn over the care to TruGreen due to my work schedule. My yard is/was 100% Zoysia grass with no other grasses mixed in. In July, my lawn was lush and green. Between then and September of 2018 TruGreen treated my lawn for fall. Soon after my lawn was nearly dead. I do not know what they did but I have pictures that show a healthy green lawn in July, and a nearly dead lawn in August. Parts of it started coming back in September but due to the weakening of the Zoysia it has been overrun with Bermuda grass, which is impossible to get rid of. I had people with turf management degrees tell me the Bermuda grass explosion was a result of the weakened state of the Zoysia.

    In October, the area of Bermuda has nearly doubled. I had a couple of competitors come out and give their opinion which is that TruGreen over fertilized and burned the lawn. Both other companies said that the only way to fix this is to re-sod but I do not have $10,000 to re-sod. I have complained, and the manager came out and provided little comfort that the issue would be resolved. I have called several times and was told a complaint along with photos was sent to the upper managers in the Birmingham. That was over a month ago.

    It has been 4 months since I first started to contact them and still no solution. I have pictures giving a timeline of the issue. I tried several times at the beginning to get someone out there to assess the situation, but they just kept retreating for weeds and would not notify the correct people of the problem. I requested time after time for the technician to meet me at the house to go over things but would only find the invoice on the front doorstep after they had come and gone.

    This is my second year with TruGreen and I have only seen minor changes to my yard. Some technicians were very helpful and knowledgeable while others did not give much inputs for brown spots, weeds, and bare spots. Orla was one technician that was very help and had good advice.     Worked with TruGreen for 6 months, trying to rectify a few failing plants. Their response was always "look, new growth, there isn't an issue" even as the plants kept failing. Finally, our 7' tall (200 stalks) Bird of Paradise is down to 15 small stalks and the Night Blooming Jasmine is a dead stick. when asked for credit for these two plants, they denied it. "Not our fault." Said they had a horticulturist come look and said it was a virus. I asked for the report. They said "it was just a courtesy visit, no official report." I can only assume the horticulturist was a figment of their imagination.

    On Nov 2, 2018 TruGreen arrived to my house to perform a routine service. I was not home but a home surveillance camera captured the driver arriving at 12:21 pm. Driver (assumedly) saw no one was home and typed up the receipt of services performed prior to do anything. 12:28 pm tech came to door, rang doorbell, confirmed no one was home and went back to his truck. 12:29 pm tech made 3 passes on my front lawn and nearly missed half of it and at that the spreader I could hear through audio wasn't even spreading the entire time.

    I was returning home from running errands and was home at 12:31 pm and the tech had already loaded up his truck and handed me a receipt (that he already had in hand). I asked him if he did my side yard or the backyard in which I pre-paid for at the start of the season at which time he seemed nervous and stated no, he didn't know he had to do it. Mind you he already put the placards out around my lawn but didn't think he had to do it? I told him to do it and I was not happy.

    I had a suspicion in August that my lawn wasn't being done correctly, or even done at all, but it really concerned me when another TruGreen tech came to service my lawn in September and was baffled with how the lawn looked. He said he didn't even think it had been touched. I called TruGreen that day and made my concerns known, but also thanked the tech who showed up, took his time and was completely honest. I had requested they don't send any other tech in the future other than the one who was here today. They assured me they would send who I requested.

    I called TruGreen to cancel and asked for a refund and was told a general manager would call me Monday. Today, Tuesday I called and asked if they were going to refund me or if the mgr was available to speak to and was told he would call me but the representative today told me TruGreen doesn't offer refunds, only service guarantees. She asked if I wanted to be reinstated and if I would like a tech to come out to do another service... no, I don't want your "service" or not service. I just wanted you to make it right. I hope I didn't get the tech in trouble who was honest with me. I truly stayed with TruGreen because of that one person who represented your company in the most professional and honest way.

    I am very dissatisfied with the expertise of the TruGreen technicians, which has caused dead patches of grass in my yard that I will have to live with until Spring. I was pleased with my 1st service because the technician explained that due to the amount of rain in my area, he was including a fungicide in his mixture. Unfortunately, on my 2nd scheduled visit, despite the frequency of rain in my area, no fungicide was applied. He only treated for bugs and weeds. After the 2nd visit, I noticed my grass was starting to die rather quickly, so I called immediately.

    10 days later a technician came and treated for bugs, which I am certain, I did not have! That very day I called to explain that I did not have bugs, but a fungus. It took 10 more days before a supervisor came to assess my grass. Of course, he noted that I had Grey Leaf Spot and Take All Patch, so he finally treated my yard with a fungicide. I am waiting to see if that treatment resolves my issue. I am extremely unhappy that TruGreen did not provide the quality of service they promised on the phone, and I want to let other potential customers know that I do not believe that you can depend on them to keep your lawn healthy.

    Received shrub service for a year and then was told they were in poor shape. When I asked why didn't they solve those problems, I received no good response and canceled just that service. Several months later my lawn service stopped for no reason. I was about to follow up when I received a call about why I canceled service. When I said I did not cancel, the manager agreed there was no note in file. Now my yard needs significant work because of lack of attention. The manager did not offer to do anything about their mistake, but just wanted to restart service. He then asked me if I had recently had their aeration service? Clearly he wasn't listening to even his own comments, so I declined to restart.

    I decided to try TruGreen and my experience has been terrible to the point that I am ready to discontinue service after only one application. I paid the initial $46.47 and called back two days later to see what the charges would be for the year. I was given a figure of $605.77 for the year. I received my TruGreen packet and noticed a charge of $419.00 for aeration and seeding. Below the charge, there was a note that I could save $78.16 if I paid in advance. I was told by the TruGreen associate that I had not made the two previous payments. I stated that I had memos from TruGreen to support that the payments had been made. Then the representative stated that I was not entitled to the stated discount.

    The people taking the calls for TruGreen need customer enhancement training. Note: I have only had one application from TruGreen, and my experience has been terrible. At one time, on the second of November, the manager said she would call me back in 15 minutes. She never called back. There are several companies available, that provide lawn care services and I am sure that they would greatly desire my business.
